- 0:00Speaker 1: Off the bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Hands to Hester, and Hester, yep, got it, five out
- 0:07Speaker 2: of five.
- 0:07Speaker 1: From carrying each other to a natty to carrying each
- 0:10Speaker 1: other on the air.
- 0:11Speaker 3: Flynn is back to.
- 0:12Speaker 4: Throw for the end zone goal.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Live from the Raising Cane Studio, it's Off the Bench.
- 0:19Speaker 3: I can't stand it.
- 1:01Speaker 5: All right, we're back in OTB here live from Rouse's
- 1:05Speaker 5: on Burbank and Lee. Jake, Dick Dixon, Flynn, Cassie here
- 1:10Speaker 5: at Rouse's. Alondra Tete holding it back down in the studio.
- 1:16Speaker 4: In the capital city, downtown Baton Rouge.
- 1:18Speaker 3: In the capital city. Not a big deal.
- 1:20Speaker 5: Methinks, it's the capital. I don't know if I can
- 1:23Speaker 5: get that in. I really want to.
- 1:25Speaker 3: Methinks?
- 1:25Speaker 5: We're trying to get some OTB-isms into the broadcast. I
- 1:29Speaker 5: got capital city in last week.
- 1:31Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:32Speaker 4: He wants me to get Methinks into the one.
- 1:34Speaker 3: It's working in.
- 1:36Speaker 4: Casually. I know, but that's the thing.
- 1:38Speaker 3: Methinks isn't casual.
- 1:39Speaker 4: I know.
- 1:41Speaker 3: Methinks makes me think what you're saying.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:43Speaker 5: What about when I'm giving the starting lineups? If I say,
- 1:46Speaker 5: me thinks Sam Levitt will.
- 1:47Speaker 3: Start a quarterback. I would love that.
- 1:49Speaker 4: I would love that.
- 1:50Speaker 3: All right. I'm doing it. You won't.
- 1:53Speaker 4: I'm doing it.
- 1:53Speaker 3: You're too scared.
- 1:58Speaker 5: There's going to be some people listening in their car,
- 2:00Speaker 5: giving the starting lineups.
- 2:02Speaker 4: I know Hester's got CTE, but I think it's turned
- 2:05Speaker 4: to another spot.
- 2:06Speaker 6: I didn't know it was that bad. It's a very
- 2:08Speaker 6: aggressive form of CTE.
- 2:11Speaker 3: So is me-things really a part of OTB? Yeah.
- 2:14Speaker 4: Well, it's Flynn.
- 2:16Speaker 3: You say it like royalty.
- 2:18Speaker 4: Me-things.
- 2:20Speaker 3: Kind of like when you say m'lady. Me-things. I mean,
- 2:24Speaker 3: I listen to y'all just about every morning and haven't
- 2:26Speaker 3: caught on to that one.
- 2:29Speaker 6: It was said once. Really caught on to the inside
- 2:32Speaker 6: joke circle.
- 2:34Speaker 3: All right.
- 2:35Speaker 5: Back in studio, y'all go ahead and start to formulate
- 2:37Speaker 5: y'all's pick for the pontoon parlay. Uh, we'll start to
- 2:42Speaker 5: do it a little bit here and by we, I mean,
- 2:45Speaker 5: I see Matt going to the website.
- 2:47Speaker 4: Uh, so I'll ask you this, uh, Dick Dixon, one,
- 2:50Speaker 4: if you.
- 2:50Speaker 5: Want to give a pick for the pontoon parlay, you're
- 2:52Speaker 5: more than welcome to do so. Um, but what do
- 2:55Speaker 5: you want to see from LSU.
- 2:56Speaker 4: In a game like this?
- 2:58Speaker 5: You've played in games like this. We've played in games
- 3:00Speaker 5: like this and you want to be able to go
- 3:03Speaker 5: out there and you want to do the things that
- 3:04Speaker 5: you did last weekend.
- 3:06Speaker 4: It takes some extra focus.
- 3:07Speaker 5: You've got to make sure you're on top of everything
- 3:09Speaker 5: because I think if I see this team go out
- 3:11Speaker 5: there and house Louisiana Tech, that's going to be as impressive,
- 3:15Speaker 5: maybe even more impressive to me than what they did
- 3:18Speaker 5: last week against Clemson because it shows that because, Matt,
- 3:21Speaker 5: you can make that face, but this team has not
- 3:23Speaker 5: beaten a team it should bad in a while.
- 3:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:27Speaker 5: Like, Nickel State, think about how many times they ran
- 3:32Speaker 5: up and down the field against LSU.
- 3:33Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying?
- 3:33Speaker 5: Like, Southeastern at times was a strong, like, It will
- 3:38Speaker 5: be impressive to me if they go out there and
- 3:40Speaker 5: they house Louisiana Tech and cover the spread.
- 3:42Speaker 4: It's like, what, five touchdowns spread.
- 3:44Speaker 3: I mean, look, the way I looked at these games,
- 3:46Speaker 3: you know, I took every game very serious, got just
- 3:48Speaker 3: as nervous before these games because I'd look at it as,
- 3:50Speaker 3: if we don't destroy them, I'm embarrassed. So, I mean,
- 3:53Speaker 3: that was the embarrassment factor. If they played with us for,
- 3:55Speaker 3: if I had to play in the fourth quarter, it
- 3:56Speaker 3: was an embarrassment. So, you know, my style for these
- 3:59Speaker 3: games was, you know, go out there, kick their butt.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Hopefully that you can go out there first drive of
- 4:04Speaker 3: the third quarter, get another seven, get the lead away,
- 4:06Speaker 3: and get the backup soon. Yeah, these games, and like, look,
- 4:11Speaker 3: I get it.
- 4:12Speaker 6: There's easy motivation this week with all the outside noise,
- 4:16Speaker 6: the world against LSU, SEC trying to vote you out
- 4:19Speaker 6: for a little while. There's extra motivation for this week. Now,
- 4:26Speaker 6: normally this game for me, and I'm not ashamed to
- 4:30Speaker 6: admit that I didn't like playing in these games.
- 4:32Speaker 3: It was not fun. It's a no-win situation.
- 4:36Speaker 6: You either blow them out or everyone thinks you played
- 4:38Speaker 6: bad just because you won the game. And, like, it's–
- 4:43Speaker 6: you always, as a quarterback, you always want to be
- 4:46Speaker 6: like– you never want to say, don't go throw interceptions.
- 4:50Speaker 6: Don't try to throw interceptions. As a pitcher, you're like,
- 4:52Speaker 6: don't throw balls. Don't throw balls.
- 4:53Speaker 3: You want to speak positive because you don't want those thoughts.
- 4:56Speaker 6: This is one of those games, like, as a player,
- 4:57Speaker 6: you're kind of like, don't get hurt, don't get hurt,
- 5:00Speaker 6: don't get hurt.
- 5:00Speaker 3: You know what I mean? This is against stuff. No,
- 5:04Speaker 3: but like I said, these are the games how I
- 5:06Speaker 3: flip my motivation is don't get embarrassed. Go out there
- 5:10Speaker 3: and just dominate them in the first half and get
- 5:11Speaker 3: the backups in.
- 5:12Speaker 5: Yeah, I think for an in-state opponent too, at least
- 5:14Speaker 5: it was like that for me, there was no way
- 5:17Speaker 5: I wanted an in-state opponent to have success against us
- 5:20Speaker 5: because I either had high school teammates on that team,
- 5:23Speaker 5: I had people I played against in high school on
- 5:24Speaker 5: that team, somebody I knew on those teams. I was
- 5:26Speaker 5: talking about the other day, like, my best friend in
- 5:28Speaker 5: the world was on Louisiana Tech's team when we played
- 5:30Speaker 5: them in 2007, right? And, you know, Katie's cousin was
- 5:34Speaker 5: on that team. Like, those are my people, but I
- 5:37Speaker 5: didn't want to get embarrassed by them.
- 5:38Speaker 3: You know what I mean? It's for me, like, the
- 5:40Speaker 3: way I would motivate myself is those guys wanted to
- 5:42Speaker 3: be at LSU. Don't let them think that they should
- 5:44Speaker 3: be here. You know, I want to go out there
- 5:46Speaker 3: and destroy them and let them remind them why they
- 5:48Speaker 3: couldn't get to LSU and why they're playing at Louisiana Tech.
- 5:50Speaker 4: Hell yeah.
- 5:51Speaker 3: Hell yeah, brother. You said it, man.
- 5:55Speaker 4: I loved it.
- 5:56Speaker 3: That's just how I thought.
- 5:57Speaker 4: Yeah. See, I guess, you know, when you played, like,
- 5:59Speaker 4: a school from your state, it was an SEC.
- 6:02Speaker 3: Game, too. Yeah, I mean, I knew the guys at
- 6:03Speaker 3: Ole Miss. I knew the guys at State. And for me.
- 6:06Speaker 4: We didn't play Southern Miss, so.
- 6:07Speaker 3: No, and that's probably where most of my teammates played. Yeah. But,
- 6:11Speaker 3: you know, I just never wanted to have anybody. I
- 6:13Speaker 3: didn't want to get that text message after the game,
- 6:15Speaker 3: people talking crap.
- 6:16Speaker 5: Yeah. I, like, I don't know why, but most of
- 6:19Speaker 5: my memories of Flynn before 07 were against North Texas.
- 6:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:26Speaker 5: I feel like every time we played North Texas, you
- 6:28Speaker 5: came in and threw a touchdown pass. I threw three
- 6:30Speaker 5: in the fourth quarter.
- 6:31Speaker 3: No big deal. I think I threw one to Xavier Carter.
- 6:35Speaker 4: Shout out to that name drop. Early.
- 6:37Speaker 3: Early. I think two to early. We played North Texas
- 6:42Speaker 3: in 08. I don't remember. But honestly, who's counting?
- 6:45Speaker 4: We played them in 055.
- 6:46Speaker 3: Okay. Because when we played them in 08, that's when
- 6:49Speaker 3: Gustav came through. It just so happened the game was canceled.
- 6:52Speaker 3: And we had the same bye week, had to play
- 6:54Speaker 3: them later in the year, and didn't get that game
- 6:56Speaker 3: off later in the year where you really needed the
- 6:58Speaker 3: bye week.
- 6:59Speaker 5: We were supposed to, Matt, correct me if I'm wrong here,
- 7:01Speaker 5: we were supposed to start the season with North Texas,
- 7:04Speaker 5: and then Katrina happened, and then we went to Arizona,
- 7:06Speaker 5: and then that game got pushed back. But I think
- 7:09Speaker 5: that was supposed to be the opener, and then it
- 7:12Speaker 5: got pushed back because of Katrina.
- 7:14Speaker 3: Fun fact, my mother got her master's degree from North Texas. Oh,
- 7:18Speaker 3: that's fun.
- 7:19Speaker 4: Denton, Texas?
- 7:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:21Speaker 3: That's when I lived in Louisville for a little while.
- 7:23Speaker 3: That's fun.
- 7:24Speaker 4: Guys, don't leave me hanging there long. My brain was
- 7:26Speaker 4: about to melt.
- 7:28Speaker 3: Denton, home of Herman Johnson? Yes. He was actually a
- 7:32Speaker 3: police officer there for a while. Yeah.
- 7:34Speaker 4: He's not doing that anymore?
- 7:35Speaker 3: I'm not sure. But he would be scary as hell. Oh,
- 7:37Speaker 3: my God.
- 7:38Speaker 6: I think maybe even like a warden at a prison
- 7:41Speaker 6: or something.
- 7:41Speaker 4: Can you imagine that guy pulling you over?
- 7:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:44Speaker 6: He's always like, can you imagine that guy being a
- 7:45Speaker 6: warden at a prison? They always hear it. There's always
- 7:48Speaker 6: someone bigger and badder than you out there.
- 7:50Speaker 3: Mike Coffin.
- 7:51Speaker 5: And Herman, the nicest guy in the world, but they
- 8:00Speaker 5: don't know that.
- 8:01Speaker 3: I remember Stacy Saros, my freshman year. And, you know,
- 8:04Speaker 3: Herman was, I think it was his first start. And
- 8:07Speaker 3: there's a big fight breaks out and Herman's in it
- 8:09Speaker 3: and they go to break it up. And Stacy's like, no,
- 8:11Speaker 3: we need to see him. We need to see him.
- 8:13Speaker 3: We need him to get mad. Let him work it out.
- 8:17Speaker 3: Let him work it out.
- 8:18Speaker 5: Let's i remember searles one time like he was trying
- 8:24Speaker 5: to fire up and he used his son brett helms
- 8:27Speaker 5: as an example just.
- 8:28Speaker 7: Like herman if we could put brett's mentality in your
- 8:32Speaker 7: body and we could put your body in brett's mentality
- 8:34Speaker 7: we'd have the best god dang offensive lineman in the
- 8:37Speaker 7: world you know and he was trying to fire him
- 8:39Speaker 7: up it's like it doesn't work like.
- 8:40Speaker 3: That stacy yeah that's the help I remember Brett cussing
- 8:44Speaker 3: Stacy out when we were in after the Sugar Bowl
- 8:45Speaker 3: when the Stuttgart go duck hunting. Yeah. And then we
- 8:48Speaker 3: found out Saros was leaving. And Brett gets out the
- 8:50Speaker 3: truck and he just gives him a lashing for about
- 8:53Speaker 3: 30 minutes.
- 8:55Speaker 4: That was his dad.
- 8:57Speaker 3: Stacy's still coaching, isn't he?
- 8:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:58Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 8:59Speaker 4: He was at Georgia last time that I caught.
- 9:00Speaker 3: Up with him. Yeah, I remember. He was at Georgia
- 9:01Speaker 3: for a long time. Yeah.
- 9:03Speaker 4: Yeah, he's been with Kirby for a while.
- 9:06Speaker 3: Good coach.
- 9:07Speaker 5: Those staffs that we had, I mean, just think about–
- 9:11Speaker 5: I mean, Will Muschamp and Derek Dooley and Jimbo Fisher
- 9:14Speaker 5: and Bo Pelini and.
- 9:18Speaker 4: Todd Munkin, who's now the coach of the Browns, the
- 9:20Speaker 4: head coach of the Browns now.
- 9:22Speaker 5: Just like all those different Kirby Smart when we first
- 9:24Speaker 5: got like being the DB coach here and to like
- 9:27Speaker 5: where they're at right now.
- 9:28Speaker 3: What's your guy Larry Porter up to?
- 9:30Speaker 5: He was coaching running backs at North Carolina for a
- 9:35Speaker 5: long time.
- 9:36Speaker 4: But, I mean, even Coach Henson. I mean, he's been
- 9:39Speaker 4: all over the place.
- 9:39Speaker 3: Is it Purdue now?
- 9:40Speaker 4: He's been an offensive coordinator in a lot of different places. USC.
- 9:43Speaker 5: A & M.
- 9:45Speaker 4: A & M. Larry Porter. Let's see.
- 9:48Speaker 3: Auburn. Is it Auburn right now? Back in the SEC? Yeah.
- 9:51Speaker 4: There he is. Larry Porter.
- 9:53Speaker 6: Well, Stacey Searles is the one that would come around
- 9:55Speaker 6: when we'd play.
- 9:56Speaker 3: Was it Ole Miss?
- 9:57Speaker 6: Where he'd be like, Ole Miss is the college that
- 9:59Speaker 6: people go to. when they can't get scholarships from LSU.
- 10:02Speaker 3: Yeah. Was it Stacy? Yeah. Stacy was freaking a dog.
- 10:05Speaker 3: I mean, I remember, like, everybody hated to see him go,
- 10:08Speaker 3: but then they're like, individual drill is going to be
- 10:10Speaker 3: so much easier now. I know, right. The worst part
- 10:13Speaker 3: of practice for linemen back then was individual drill with Searles.
- 10:16Speaker 4: And they used to have to wear the knee braces.
- 10:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:18Speaker 4: Every practice.
- 10:19Speaker 3: Yeah. I remember they tried to make me wear them
- 10:21Speaker 3: freshman year. I was like, Coach, I can't move in these.
- 10:23Speaker 3: It's not going to work.
- 10:24Speaker 4: The old Don Joyce.
- 10:25Speaker 6: I mean, it's kind of like when we kind of– honestly,
- 10:30Speaker 6: young kids, you know, not really knowing, you kind of
- 10:32Speaker 6: see what's in front of you. Didn't really know how
- 10:35Speaker 6: great Saban really was at the time. We won a
- 10:37Speaker 6: national championship with him, of course, but you're a 19-year-old,
- 10:39Speaker 6: you're a 20-year-old. When he told us he was leaving
- 10:42Speaker 6: for the NFL, we were like– Oh, God, this is
- 10:46Speaker 6: going to be great.
- 10:49Speaker 4: No fourth quarter program.
- 10:50Speaker 3: Oh, my God, this is great. They kept fourth quarter
- 10:52Speaker 3: for sure.
- 10:52Speaker 6: It's just like, of course, because he demanded a lot
- 10:55Speaker 6: from you, and he was very mean in a good way.
- 11:00Speaker 3: All the highlight clips from him practicing back there when
- 11:03Speaker 3: he first got to LSU, I'm like, God dang it.
- 11:05Speaker 3: I know. I remember like, he's leaving, he's leaving.
- 11:10Speaker 4: I don't like that.
- 11:11Speaker 3: And, like, looking back on it, I'm like, I was
- 11:13Speaker 3: so dumb. Me too.
- 11:14Speaker 4: I grew up, like, that's how I was coached growing up, like,
- 11:16Speaker 4: with my dad.
- 11:17Speaker 3: I was too.
- 11:19Speaker 5: That's what I answer to. Like, I want you talking
- 11:21Speaker 5: to me. I want you kind of not ever being
- 11:23Speaker 5: happy with me.
- 11:24Speaker 3: We grew up in the era of yanking you by
- 11:26Speaker 3: your face, Matt.
- 11:27Speaker 5: Well, yeah, for sure that. But there were some people, Matt,
- 11:29Speaker 5: you know, like, when we played, they couldn't handle that.
- 11:32Speaker 5: And they would melt when Saban would come around. And
- 11:34Speaker 5: they just couldn't do it.
- 11:35Speaker 4: And they would, like, get into this shell, and they
- 11:37Speaker 4: could never get out of it.
- 11:39Speaker 3: I mean, that's kind of how my dad coached me
- 11:40Speaker 3: my whole life. I remember, like, my worst thing was
- 11:43Speaker 3: when coaches used to whip that whistle and hit you
- 11:45Speaker 3: on top of the helmet and, like, make your ears
- 11:46Speaker 3: start ringing. And it didn't, like, hurt. It just pissed
- 11:49Speaker 3: you off. Yeah.
- 11:50Speaker 6: Jimbo would take the pencil from out of his ear.
- 11:53Speaker 6: Because he'd always scratch.
- 11:54Speaker 3: His ear with his pencil eraser, and he'd hit you
- 11:56Speaker 3: on the helmet with it. The things I remember about
- 11:58Speaker 3: Jimbo is running scout team, and if the scout team
- 12:01Speaker 3: gave a bad look, he would freak out. He goes,
- 12:03Speaker 3: I wouldn't hire you to cut my grass.
- 12:07Speaker 4: We could have a whole show on Jimbo-isms. And again,
- 12:11Speaker 4: I've said it a thousand times, he will never top
- 12:13Speaker 4: I Wish Your Parents Never Met. That will never be topped.
- 12:17Speaker 4: That's the all-timer.
- 12:18Speaker 5: Now, he had one about a sniper in D.C., and
- 12:21Speaker 5: we had a guy from D.C., Face Jones, that was
- 12:23Speaker 5: a whole different subject.
- 12:24Speaker 4: But when he's like, I wish your parents never met.
- 12:29Speaker 4: That one cut deep. He didn't say it to me,
- 12:32Speaker 4: but he said it often.
- 12:33Speaker 3: I just remember he really confused me my freshman year
- 12:35Speaker 3: because he was the meanest coach I'd ever had on
- 12:36Speaker 3: the field. And then as soon as you'd be in
- 12:38Speaker 3: the locker room, like, taking your tape off, you're like, hey,
- 12:40Speaker 3: what's up, buddy? How was your day?
- 12:42Speaker 4: Oh, he's the best about that.
- 12:43Speaker 3: I'm like, whoa, you just cussed me out. Wow. Wow,
- 12:46Speaker 3: what happened? I was about to quit. Did you black
- 12:48Speaker 3: out out there?
- 12:48Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:49Speaker 4: I will say that about him.
- 12:50Speaker 5: Like, he would always come back, and I'm not even
- 12:53Speaker 5: saying he would make it right, but he would come
- 12:55Speaker 5: back and explain why he did it.
- 12:58Speaker 4: That's why he was big about the why. Yeah, tell
- 13:00Speaker 4: me why.
- 13:00Speaker 3: Yeah, tell me why.
- 13:01Speaker 6: He was mean until you gave it back to him.
- 13:04Speaker 6: If you gave it back to him, he would just
- 13:05Speaker 6: smirk at you and be like, all right.
- 13:07Speaker 3: I mean, after the Sugar Bowl, I remember him sitting
- 13:08Speaker 3: me down, and he's trying to talk to me about
- 13:11Speaker 3: the plans for next year. Because I only had seven
- 13:13Speaker 3: catches as a freshman, and I was kind of, teed off.
- 13:16Speaker 3: And he was like, well, you know, we had Dwayne Bowe.
- 13:18Speaker 4: That's what he told me yesterday.
- 13:19Speaker 3: Dwayne Bowe, Buster Davis, you know, early do set and
- 13:22Speaker 3: like start looking at all the guys. I'm like, yeah,
- 13:23Speaker 3: they're first round, first round, second round. Makes a lot
- 13:26Speaker 3: of sense.
- 13:26Speaker 5: We do the running backs a lot that year too.
- 13:29Speaker 4: That's the year I had like 39.
- 13:30Speaker 3: But then he sits me down, calls me to his
- 13:32Speaker 3: office and gives me this big plan for next year.
- 13:34Speaker 3: I'm like, cool. I mean, I'm getting a little excited again.
- 13:36Speaker 3: Like a week later he leaves. I'm like, what was
- 13:38Speaker 3: the point of that?
- 13:39Speaker 4: What?
- 13:40Speaker 3: What did we mean? You came up with a whole
- 13:42Speaker 3: game plan for next year to get me excited and
- 13:44Speaker 3: then you leave. It's for the other offensive coordinator. Well,
- 13:47Speaker 3: you know what? It worked out for me because Gary
- 13:49Speaker 3: Croton loved to throw the ball to the tight end.
- 13:50Speaker 3: Gary Croton. Yeah, Christmas. What's that about?
- 13:57Speaker 4: One of my favorite run designs and run concepts with Gary.
- 14:00Speaker 3: You talking about the number one offense in the country?
- 14:04Speaker 4: I don't know who it was.
- 14:06Speaker 3: SCAT?
- 14:06Speaker 4: I can see why you two liked it.
- 14:07Speaker 3: It was the first time we were given multiple options.
- 14:11Speaker 3: I had three different routes I could run on a
- 14:12Speaker 3: SCAT route based off coverage. And you could always get
- 14:15Speaker 3: over it.
- 14:15Speaker 5: I hated running out of gun, and he loved it.
- 14:17Speaker 5: That's just where he was coming from. And, like, none
- 14:19Speaker 5: of us running backs liked it at all because we
- 14:22Speaker 5: were all, like, 225, 235-pound running backs.
- 14:24Speaker 3: Right.
- 14:24Speaker 4: So, like, none of us liked running out of gun, but, man,
- 14:26Speaker 4: he loved it. He loved it. I'm not saying it
- 14:29Speaker 4: didn't work sometimes.
- 14:30Speaker 3: Yeah. You still went for over 1,000.
- 14:34Speaker 5: Yeah, but we were coming from Jimbo where, like, every
- 14:37Speaker 5: run was kind of. Foreign boss, zone extra, giant power,
- 14:40Speaker 5: everything was under center.
- 14:41Speaker 3: I was going through checks the other day. I was
- 14:42Speaker 3: trying to remember. We had the cold check, which was
- 14:44Speaker 3: counter lead. What were some of the other?
- 14:46Speaker 4: Oh, God. Matt and I have been in a lot
- 14:49Speaker 4: of offenses.
- 14:50Speaker 3: I'm trying to remember. His were the ones that kind
- 14:52Speaker 3: of stuck with me. Yeah, he always had the double words.
- 14:57Speaker 3: Was it Zulu? Zulu. Counter lead. Yeah. Counter lead. Yeah.
- 15:02Speaker 4: Just run 246 UConn and find me or Richard.
- 15:04Speaker 3: Yeah, perfect.
- 15:04Speaker 4: One of us is going to be open, bud.
- 15:06Speaker 3: Half my touchdowns on 246. What was that?
- 15:09Speaker 6: What was a dumb quarterback snake that Les Miles loved
- 15:13Speaker 6: to do?
- 15:13Speaker 4: Elephant.
- 15:14Speaker 3: Elephant.
- 15:15Speaker 6: He put Herman Johnson in next to me.
- 15:18Speaker 3: That was a standoff for me. Elephant.
- 15:20Speaker 4: Elephant.
- 15:21Speaker 3: I remember that. That was so dumb. So bad. You
- 15:23Speaker 3: know what we put in our offense this year? A
- 15:26Speaker 3: version of Rice Bird. Oh, my God.
- 15:28Speaker 4: Did you really?
- 15:29Speaker 3: Yeah, we put it in. Rice Bird, Rice Bird. So
- 15:31Speaker 3: I'm like, hey, if we run a play and, you know,
- 15:33Speaker 3: it's wide open, we're going to call, we just called
- 15:35Speaker 3: it blue because they didn't understand Rice Bird. Get line
- 15:37Speaker 3: back up and we're running a sneak.
- 15:39Speaker 6: So Rice Bird was something that me and Helms liked
- 15:42Speaker 6: to work on in QB Center Exchange. And we kind
- 15:44Speaker 6: of made up, like, if it was like short yardage,
- 15:47Speaker 6: and I don't think we ever executed it in a
- 15:48Speaker 6: game because we never got to look. But if they
- 15:50Speaker 6: were like two wide three techniques, so the defensive tackle
- 15:53Speaker 6: or some outside leverage on the guard, And the backers
- 15:56Speaker 6: were lined up. Like, I could go rice bird, rice bird,
- 15:58Speaker 6: and I would just, like, basically.
- 16:00Speaker 4: Where would you hit him?
- 16:01Speaker 3: Flick Helms' balls, basically. Give him a little pressure.
- 16:05Speaker 6: Hey, okay. He would just snap it without any cadence.
- 16:13Speaker 6: I would just do a quarterback sneak. You've seen people
- 16:14Speaker 6: do it. They just call their own number, and they
- 16:16Speaker 6: do a quarterback sneak, pick it up. We liked to
- 16:18Speaker 6: practice it.
- 16:19Speaker 3: It was fun. We never got to run it. Well,
- 16:21Speaker 3: I implemented it in our U team. I love it.
- 16:23Speaker 3: And it works awesome. Yeah, it does. Rice bird.
- 16:25Speaker 4: Well done.
- 16:26Speaker 3: Because Rice Bird is the mascot of the Stuttgart football team. Yeah, exactly.
- 16:31Speaker 3: Brett had to take a lot. Which, if you don't
- 16:32Speaker 3: know what a Rice Bird is, a Red Wing Black Bird.
- 16:34Speaker 3: Red Wing Black Bird. Yeah, absolutely.
- 16:36Speaker 5: All right, before we take this break, let's see. I
- 16:42Speaker 5: think we want to tell you about KDC.
- 16:44Speaker 1: Oh.
- 16:44Speaker 4: KDCBlinds.com.
- 16:46Speaker 5: KDC Interior is now door-living. Matt, they've been in the
- 16:48Speaker 5: game since 2004. That was a long time ago. You
- 16:50Speaker 5: know how I know that?
- 16:51Speaker 4: I was a freshman.
- 16:53Speaker 3: I was a redshirt freshman.
- 16:54Speaker 4: Yeah, you're old. I'm older than him. I messed that up. Anyways, K-Z, K-ZBlinds.com.
- 17:00Speaker 5: Have Brandon Barton and team come out to your space,
- 17:02Speaker 5: know your space, learn your space, change your space in
- 17:03Speaker 5: a matter of minutes.
- 17:05Speaker 4: I've got them coming to the house next week.
- 17:06Speaker 5: It's always a good time when K-Z comes out because, well,
- 17:09Speaker 5: they're going to upgrade you. It's going to be inside
- 17:11Speaker 5: and outside, outside and inside, and sometimes it's a little
- 17:14Speaker 5: bit of both like it has been for me.
- 17:16Speaker 4: Go to K-ZBlinds.com, K-T-O-ZBlinds.com.
- 17:20Speaker 5: More OTB when we come back here live from Rouses,
- 17:22Speaker 5: and we are going to give you Remember last week,
- 17:25Speaker 5: it hit.
- 17:26Speaker 4: It's going to hit again. Let's go. Le pontoon parlay.
- 17:29Speaker 4: Off the bench.
- 17:30Speaker 1: 2007 champs. Purple and gold to the core. This is
- 17:37Speaker 1: Off the Bench with Hester and Flynn. Baton Rouge's go-to
- 17:41Speaker 1: for all things Louisiana sports. All right.
- 17:45Speaker 4: Welcome back in.
- 17:55Speaker 5: OTB here live from Rouse's, Burbank, and Lee. I want
- 18:01Speaker 5: to remind you about our friends over at RejuvaMe, RejuvaMeMedical.com,
- 18:05Speaker 5: 13 locations across the state of Louisiana, also one in Richardson,
- 18:09Speaker 5: neck of the woods, in Mississippi. Go to RejuvaMeMedical.com, check
- 18:13Speaker 5: it out, see what they can do for you. But
- 18:15Speaker 5: we always encourage you, get that consultation set up, have
- 18:17Speaker 5: that blood work drawn.
- 18:19Speaker 4: It's a true story. I did it literally with my
- 18:21Speaker 4: daughter on my lap. It was a five-minute process. And
- 18:23Speaker 4: I came back a week later, and we had a
- 18:25Speaker 4: plan in place, and we hit the ground running.
- 18:27Speaker 5: And that is what you are going to do. You're
- 18:30Speaker 5: going to feel like your youthful self again. Matt, you
- 18:32Speaker 5: went over there two days ago?
- 18:33Speaker 6: No, I was there yesterday checking in on my blood work.
- 18:35Speaker 6: Everything is amazing, obviously. But I'm super excited because I'm
- 18:40Speaker 6: going to get on a new peptide. I'm getting an
- 18:43Speaker 6: NAD +. It helps brain function. And I was talking
- 18:47Speaker 6: to the medical professionals over there about it. I was like,
- 18:49Speaker 6: all right, so tell me what it does. They're like,
- 18:50Speaker 6: it helps the cognitive function. It just helps you feel
- 18:52Speaker 6: more alert, a little bit more energy. And they said
- 18:55Speaker 6: something that really struck home. They said, we tell people
- 18:57Speaker 6: it helps.
- 18:58Speaker 3: You remember that word you can't think of. And I
- 19:00Speaker 3: was like, whoa, this is perfect.
- 19:02Speaker 6: This is perfect because I forget at least 10 words
- 19:05Speaker 6: every single morning from 7 to 10 a.m.
- 19:06Speaker 3: Right here and off the bench. So it was perfect.
- 19:09Speaker 3: So I'm super fired up. I can't wait. I'll report back.
- 19:12Speaker 6: And I'm sure you all will see over the next
- 19:13Speaker 6: couple of months just how much smarter I will be.
- 19:17Speaker 3: You're going to be so smart.
- 19:18Speaker 4: I'm not?
- 19:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:19Speaker 6: It's a good test. Let's see how strong this thing is.
- 19:21Speaker 3: Low bar. Smarter or better memory? Probably all of it. Yeah.
- 19:25Speaker 3: Better looking, I'm sure. It helps. If that's possible.
- 19:29Speaker 4: Low bar.
- 19:32Speaker 3: All right.
- 19:33Speaker 5: Let's get into a little pontoon parlay. And last week,
- 19:39Speaker 5: we hit the pontoon parlay. We had four legs, and
- 19:42Speaker 5: we hit all four legs.
- 19:43Speaker 4: Now, this is a good test. We're going to add
- 19:45Speaker 4: a fifth leg.
- 19:46Speaker 5: Last time we did this, it did not go well
- 19:48Speaker 5: with our guy Devin Snow. all right so dick dixon
- 19:51Speaker 5: pressure's on you if we add a fifth leg we
- 19:53Speaker 5: need you to hit i got this all right let's
- 19:56Speaker 5: send it back to studio here in the capital city
- 19:59Speaker 5: tete alondra take it away.
- 20:03Speaker 2: Yeah, welcome back to downtown Baton Rouge, the capital city.
- 20:07Speaker 2: We will take it away from here. Tay-Tay, do you
- 20:09Speaker 2: want to go first?
- 20:10Speaker 3: Yeah, I'll go ahead and go.
- 20:11Speaker 4: Happy birthday.
- 20:12Speaker 8: Missouri and Kansas, thank you very much.
- 20:15Speaker 4: Out there in Lawrence.
- 20:18Speaker 3: Very interesting hype.
- 20:19Speaker 8: Video that Kansas put out about the Missouri Tigers, but
- 20:22Speaker 8: Missouri currently a five-and-a-half point favorite. Eli Drinkwitz has been
- 20:26Speaker 8: great in this spot. As a ranked team facing an
- 20:28Speaker 8: unranked opponent on the road, Missouri's 5-0 under Eli Drinkwitz
- 20:32Speaker 8: has covered the spread in all five games. They renewed
- 20:35Speaker 8: this rivalry last year, and Missouri handled business. They've won
- 20:39Speaker 8: the last four in this matchup. I think Missouri makes
- 20:42Speaker 8: it five in a row. I'm going to take the
- 20:43Speaker 8: Tigers to cover the 5.5 against Kansas.
- 20:45Speaker 3: Okay, I.
- 20:50Speaker 2: Thought y'all were going to say something, but y'all aren't. Um,
- 20:54Speaker 2: I am going, there's two that I was debating. I
- 20:57Speaker 2: feel like Matt's going to take the other one. So
- 20:59Speaker 2: I'm going to pivot here and I'm actually going to
- 21:02Speaker 2: go against what Matt has been saying since the beginning
- 21:05Speaker 2: of this week. And I'm going to take Texas minus
- 21:08Speaker 2: one and a half in Austin DK, DKR. I I'm
- 21:13Speaker 2: going to give them the home field advantage on that one.
- 21:15Speaker 2: I think they're pretty much at this point. Like we
- 21:17Speaker 2: don't know too much about either team, obviously one game in,
- 21:20Speaker 2: but they both have returning quarterbacks that they have a
- 21:24Speaker 2: lot of faith in. And I think at this point,
- 21:26Speaker 2: they're kind of, from what we've seen so far, the
- 21:30Speaker 2: same team. So I'm going to take Texas minus one
- 21:32Speaker 2: and a half.
- 21:34Speaker 3: Pressure is no longer on me.
- 21:36Speaker 5: The pressure is in Austin, Texas on the Longhorns.
- 21:40Speaker 4: All right.
- 21:40Speaker 5: So we've got Missouri and we've got Texas, Missouri minus
- 21:45Speaker 5: five and a half against Kansas, Texas minus one and
- 21:49Speaker 5: a half versus the.
- 21:50Speaker 4: Ohio State Buckeyes.
- 21:54Speaker 5: I am going to go with Navy over Florida Atlantic.
- 21:59Speaker 5: I'm trying to see what the number was at. I
- 22:05Speaker 5: think it was at four and a half, Flynn. So
- 22:07Speaker 5: you're jotting those down.
- 22:09Speaker 4: So, yeah, here it is.
- 22:10Speaker 5: Navy minus four and a half on the road in
- 22:14Speaker 5: Boca against Florida Atlantic. Give me the midshipman minus four
- 22:18Speaker 5: and a half.
- 22:19Speaker 3: Interesting pick.
- 22:21Speaker 6: You know a lot about the midshipmen in Florida Atlantic
- 22:24Speaker 6: this year?
- 22:24Speaker 3: Been dialed in?
- 22:26Speaker 5: Yeah, I know Navy hasn't lost a game in a
- 22:29Speaker 5: very long time.
- 22:30Speaker 3: He's not as dialed in this year.
- 22:32Speaker 4: Well, more NFL. Florida Atlantic got beat up on by Florida.
- 22:37Speaker 4: Navy does have a lot returning.
- 22:40Speaker 5: I know Herb Street actually picked Navy to be the
- 22:42Speaker 5: rep in the group.
- 22:43Speaker 4: Of six for the college football playoff.
- 22:46Speaker 5: And, again, I know– When you look at what Navy's
- 22:49Speaker 5: done over the last year or so, they won their
- 22:52Speaker 5: opener against Towson 42-15.
- 22:55Speaker 4: But let's go back to 2025.
- 22:58Speaker 5: They have won their last, let's see, five games in
- 23:01Speaker 5: a row.
- 23:02Speaker 3: So, I don't know.
- 23:03Speaker 4: I like Navy. I think they're on a hot streak.
- 23:05Speaker 5: Florida Atlantic got beat up on by the Florida Gators.
- 23:08Speaker 5: Maybe that adds to the intrigue there. It's down there
- 23:10Speaker 5: in Boca. But I'm going to assume that Navy, no
- 23:13Speaker 5: matter what the weather is, is going to be conditioned.
- 23:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 23:17Speaker 4: Okay.
- 23:17Speaker 3: Yeah, I didn't realize Herb Schurke had picked them. Yeah.
- 23:21Speaker 6: That speaks pretty good to at least their roster and
- 23:24Speaker 6: what they've done in the past.
- 23:25Speaker 3: But, yeah, that'd be great. Except for Atlantic, a little
- 23:28Speaker 3: bit more hydrated than Navy. I will say that.
- 23:30Speaker 6: I don't know if that would have affected your pick
- 23:32Speaker 6: or not.
- 23:33Speaker 4: Not at all.
- 23:33Speaker 3: If you had known that information prior.
- 23:35Speaker 2: I mean.
- 23:35Speaker 4: You can't cramp if you're in the Navy.
- 23:37Speaker 3: It's not allowed. That's a great point. Richard, how are
- 23:39Speaker 3: you doing over there, buddy? Doing good.
- 23:40Speaker 6: I know this has actually been, I was looking through
- 23:42Speaker 6: the lines, it's actually kind of a tough week to pick,
- 23:44Speaker 6: a little bit like last week. There's a handful of
- 23:47Speaker 6: really good games, and there's a lot of minus 40
- 23:50Speaker 6: lines out there.
- 23:50Speaker 3: So kind of a tough week to pick. Yeah, I'm
- 23:53Speaker 3: going to get some comments from you all on this one,
- 23:55Speaker 3: but I'm going to take Mississippi State minus one and
- 23:57Speaker 3: a half over Minnesota. I just don't think that boat's
- 23:58Speaker 3: rolling anymore.
- 24:00Speaker 4: Oh, on the road, right?
- 24:01Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. Minus one and a half.
- 24:03Speaker 4: They're in Minnesota.
- 24:04Speaker 3: Oh, it's Minnesota. Did you watch that new quarterback from
- 24:06Speaker 3: Mississippi State? I did. He was fun to watch. I mean,
- 24:08Speaker 3: he made some big plays.
- 24:09Speaker 4: That was against ULM.
- 24:10Speaker 3: Yeah, but I mean, it's against Minnesota.
- 24:12Speaker 4: Okay.
- 24:12Speaker 3: I mean, I don't think Minnesota came in hot. Is P.J.
- 24:16Speaker 3: Fleck still the coach? Yeah.
- 24:17Speaker 4: Still rowing the boat up there with his sweater vest.
- 24:19Speaker 3: It's not rowing as fast anymore. Okay.
- 24:22Speaker 6: I don't disagree with that. Okay, so minus one and
- 24:24Speaker 6: a half on the road, Mississippi State. My flight and
- 24:27Speaker 6: Jeff Levy.
- 24:27Speaker 4: Jeff Levy.
- 24:28Speaker 3: My guy. I love that guy.
- 24:30Speaker 6: But maybe the greatest coach to ever coach. The last leg,
- 24:34Speaker 6: the fifth leg of this five-leg pontoon parlay. Excited about
- 24:37Speaker 6: this one because it's going to hit. It's just short
- 24:41Speaker 6: of a guarantee.
- 24:42Speaker 3: We've talked about it. My pick for the Did I
- 24:47Speaker 3: pick them as a national champion? I can't remember.
- 24:49Speaker 6: Oklahoma, minus five and a half versus Michigan. Oklahoma headed
- 24:53Speaker 6: up to the big house. Michigan almost losing to, was
- 24:55Speaker 6: it Western Michigan? That's a guarantee. They did lose.
- 24:58Speaker 3: They did lose. They got, they got.
- 25:01Speaker 6: Leicester michigan it got screwed on that one uh in
- 25:03Speaker 6: the big house michigan i'm sorry you just aren't going
- 25:07Speaker 6: to be relevant again this year a lot of people
- 25:09Speaker 6: were hyping up this game in week two as being
- 25:12Speaker 6: a huge indicator about what's future what the future is
- 25:15Speaker 6: going to look like in the playoff picture i don't
- 25:17Speaker 6: think so michigan there is a lot of your head
- 25:20Speaker 6: coach didn't couldn't even back their starting quarterback so there
- 25:24Speaker 6: is issues happening and i think Oklahoma is a sleeping
- 25:29Speaker 6: giant this season. I think John Mateer is going to
- 25:32Speaker 6: go off. I think they go up, and I've already
- 25:34Speaker 6: taken them on my app. I've already taken them at
- 25:37Speaker 6: minus 5.5, but I also took them alternate line at
- 25:40Speaker 6: minus 13.5. I could even probably go in and take
- 25:42Speaker 6: them alternate line at minus 20.5. We're going to find out.
- 25:45Speaker 6: I think they're going to absolutely dismantle Michigan.
- 25:48Speaker 3: What about an awkward conversation when they ask Bryce Hunter
- 25:50Speaker 3: what he goes? Oh, he said that? Oh, he said that? Well,
- 25:53Speaker 3: I didn't know that. Okay, cool. I guess I'm just
- 25:55Speaker 3: going to go play football. It's a fun team meeting
- 25:57Speaker 3: after that. Yeah, I think Oklahoma comes in there. Nasty.
- 26:01Speaker 3: I like.
- 26:04Speaker 1: It.
- 26:05Speaker 5: God, that one just feels so sure that I'm like,
- 26:07Speaker 5: what are we missing here?
- 26:08Speaker 3: I know. What are we missing?
- 26:09Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 26:11Speaker 3: I got the recap if you don't have it.
- 26:13Speaker 4: No, go ahead.
- 26:13Speaker 6: You got it written down. Missouri minus five and a
- 26:17Speaker 6: half versus Kansas. That is Tay-Tay's pick. Alondra with Texas
- 26:20Speaker 6: minus one and a half at home versus Ohio State.
- 26:24Speaker 6: Jake with Navy, minus 4.5 versus Florida Atlantic University. Richard
- 26:30Speaker 6: Dick Dixon, Mississippi State on the road, minus 1.5 versus Minnesota.
- 26:35Speaker 6: My pick, Oklahoma, minus 5.5 versus Michigan.
- 26:40Speaker 3: The only thing I don't like about it is when
- 26:41Speaker 3: it's all favorites. That is true. It's all minus.
- 26:45Speaker 4: Yeah, but we got home and a ways.
- 26:46Speaker 3: A lot of way, a lot of way team. So,
- 26:52Speaker 3: of course, this is not financial advice. A lot of
- 26:54Speaker 3: away teams in there. A lot of away teams.
- 26:56Speaker 4: I think Elijah went with the only home team.
- 26:58Speaker 3: Yeah, Navy's away. Missouri. Is it Missouri in Kansas? Yeah. Yep.
- 27:02Speaker 3: So everybody on the road except for Texas.
- 27:06Speaker 4: Which means it's going to hit. That's what it's going
- 27:08Speaker 4: to be.
- 27:08Speaker 3: It ain't no guess. This ain't financial advice. But you
- 27:11Speaker 3: know what? If you want a second house in the mountains,
- 27:13Speaker 3: now's the time to get it.
- 27:14Speaker 4: You said it, man. All right. Real quick.
- 27:19Speaker 5: Actually, let's save that for the end. Let's come back.
- 27:20Speaker 5: Let's do what's the ticket. And then we'll come back.
- 27:26Speaker 5: And we'll give predictions for LSU Louisiana Tech. And we'll
- 27:28Speaker 5: do that all here when we jump back live from
- 27:30Speaker 5: Rouse's on Burbank and Lee.
- 27:33Speaker 4: Off the bench. All right.
- 27:36Speaker 5: Go to FABT.com. FABT.com. First American Bank and Trust. They
- 27:41Speaker 5: have been in the game for over 100 years. And
- 27:44Speaker 5: so they. Know this community. They know this area. They
- 27:48Speaker 5: know you. You are a face. You are a name.
- 27:50Speaker 5: You are a relationship. You are not just another account
- 27:53Speaker 5: number to them. And you would assume, okay, well, what
- 27:57Speaker 5: am I losing? Do they not have all the technology,
- 27:59Speaker 5: online banking, and all those different things, all the bells,
- 28:01Speaker 5: all the whistles?
- 28:02Speaker 4: No, they've got all that.
- 28:03Speaker 5: They have all of that, and you pair that with
- 28:05Speaker 5: the relationship, and that's what sets FABT, First American Bank
- 28:08Speaker 5: and Trust, apart.
- 28:09Speaker 4: Go to FABT.com today.
- 28:11Speaker 6: First American Bank and Trust, it's a bank that, a
- 28:14Speaker 6: local bank, that just, they just get it, man. They just,
- 28:16Speaker 6: they understand people. They understand businesses. They understand Louisiana. They
- 28:20Speaker 6: understand the culture that is here, and they know how
- 28:23Speaker 6: to work with Louisiana businesses, Louisiana's families.
- 28:25Speaker 3: Whether it's a mortgage, maybe it's a.
- 28:26Speaker 6: HELOC, maybe it's a commercial line of credit, whatever it is,
- 28:31Speaker 6: Make sure you're dealing with a local bank that's been
- 28:32Speaker 6: doing it a long time. Over at First American Bank
- 28:35Speaker 6: and Trust, FABT.com.
- 28:59Speaker 1: Tigers turn talkers.
- 29:01Speaker 3: This is Off the Bench. All right, welcome back here.
- 29:08Speaker 6: Off the Bench, 936 here at Rouse's Football Friday. We're
- 29:13Speaker 6: about to do a little What's the Ticket? But before
- 29:15Speaker 6: we do, I want to tell you about our friends
- 29:16Speaker 6: over at Caterus. Louisiana has always been at the center,
- 29:20Speaker 6: at the core of American energy. And Caterus is investing
- 29:22Speaker 6: in what comes next. Caterus developing the Commonwealth LNG Export
- 29:26Speaker 6: Facility over.
- 29:27Speaker 3: There in Cameron Parish, Louisiana.
- 29:29Speaker 6: The project is designed to take American natural gas produced
- 29:32Speaker 6: here at home and help deliver it to customers in
- 29:34Speaker 6: energy markets around the world. That means a major investment
- 29:38Speaker 6: right here in.
- 29:38Speaker 3: Louisiana, supporting... We'll be right back.
- 29:55Speaker 6: Doing what Louisiana's done for generations, and that is helping
- 29:58Speaker 6: power America and the world. Catarists and the Commonwealth LNG
- 30:02Speaker 6: invested in Louisiana and connecting American energy to the global market.
- 30:08Speaker 3: Good friends over at Catarists. All right.
- 30:12Speaker 6: There's a fly that is, like, all over me here today.
- 30:14Speaker 6: Landing on my finger. Landing on my hat.
- 30:17Speaker 4: Why don't you Mr. Miyagi that thing?
- 30:21Speaker 3: Chopsticks?
- 30:22Speaker 1: Yep.
- 30:23Speaker 3: I can get it right over my gut from.
- 30:25Speaker 4: My sushi guy. If he has some sushi out here
- 30:27Speaker 4: in about five minutes.
- 30:28Speaker 3: Oh, he got some. I'm going to go.
- 30:29Speaker 6: I mean, he's got about 1,000 avocado slices.
- 30:31Speaker 4: I'm going to go get some here in a second.
- 30:34Speaker 3: All right.
- 30:35Speaker 4: Let's play a little What's the Ticket.
- 30:36Speaker 7: All right.
- 30:37Speaker 5: So we're going to give the games. We'll send it
- 30:39Speaker 5: back to studio in the capital city, downtown.
- 30:42Speaker 3: Hey.
- 30:42Speaker 4: And then we'll bring it back here. And we'll start
- 30:44Speaker 4: with the, I think the one that, I think everyone's
- 30:48Speaker 4: going to get one right this week.
- 30:51Speaker 3: It's in Miami. Miami.
- 30:52Speaker 5: Let's start with the highest ticket in the top 25
- 30:56Speaker 5: this week involving at least one top 25 team.
- 30:59Speaker 4: This is the get-in price.
- 31:01Speaker 3: All right. We're going highest right now.
- 31:02Speaker 4: We are going highest. All right.
- 31:04Speaker 5: Is it Iowa and Iowa State? Is it Missouri and Kansas,
- 31:10Speaker 5: the border war? Is it Oklahoma at the big house
- 31:14Speaker 5: in Ann Arbor against Michigan?
- 31:16Speaker 4: Is it Ohio State and Texas in Austin? Or is
- 31:19Speaker 4: it Alabama... versus Kentucky in Lexington. Alondra, blank space, Villarreal.
- 31:26Speaker 3: Lead us off.
- 31:29Speaker 2: I'm not going to lie to y'all. I did not
- 31:31Speaker 2: hear a single one that you just said. So, TayTay,
- 31:35Speaker 2: can you just remind me?
- 31:37Speaker 8: Yeah, I'll be boring here. I was either going to
- 31:40Speaker 8: go Michigan versus Oklahoma, but I'm going to go Texas,
- 31:45Speaker 8: Ohio State. I think that's got to be the highest
- 31:47Speaker 8: get-in price. I mean, that is the game this weekend.
- 31:51Speaker 2: Okay, so the highest, yes.
- 31:52Speaker 3: I'll say the same thing.
- 31:54Speaker 8: All right.
- 31:55Speaker 4: Dick Dixon?
- 31:55Speaker 3: Same thing.
- 31:56Speaker 4: Matt Flynn?
- 31:57Speaker 6: I mean, it feels like it's too obvious. It feels
- 32:00Speaker 6: like it is that. The only thing I would say, Bama, Kentucky,
- 32:07Speaker 6: smaller stadium, I would say, but.
- 32:10Speaker 3: I'm not going to Oklahoma. Okay. I mean, Texas, Ohio State.
- 32:13Speaker 5: All right, we'll go from the cheapest ticket to the
- 32:15Speaker 5: most expensive ticket.
- 32:16Speaker 4: Here in the highest category. At $ 57, it is Oklahoma
- 32:19Speaker 4: at Michigan. At $ 128, Missouri at Kansas. At $ 136, it's
- 32:22Speaker 4: Iowa at Iowa State. $ 157 for Alabama at Kentucky. And
- 32:35Speaker 4: for $ 465, it.
- 32:36Speaker 5: Is Ohio State versus the Texas Longhorns in Austin, Texas.
- 32:43Speaker 3: So my thought process was correct. It was.
- 32:45Speaker 5: I mean, yeah, second place, but just by about $ 300.
- 32:49Speaker 3: Is that the highest one we've ever done in two years?
- 32:51Speaker 3: It feels like it. There was a $ 400 last year,
- 32:53Speaker 3: Penn State. Yeah.
- 32:55Speaker 6: It was Oregon, Penn State, and we did the math
- 32:58Speaker 6: on it. It was like $ 100 million in base ticket sales.
- 33:03Speaker 3: Every single one was that price. That might be the
- 33:06Speaker 3: highest we've ever had. I've got to redo the math.
- 33:09Speaker 6: $ 100, 000.
- 33:10Speaker 3: Yeah, it was a lot. When you get them on
- 33:12Speaker 3: the second half of the month, they go crazy.
- 33:14Speaker 4: It's like $ 110, 000 that stadium holds, right? Something crazy like that.
- 33:16Speaker 6: So it's $ 40 million if they're all $ 400. If $ 100, 000,
- 33:18Speaker 6: it's $ 400.
- 33:19Speaker 4: No, what we said was that was the cheapest ticket.
- 33:22Speaker 3: That's the cheapest one.
- 33:22Speaker 4: And so we were assuming with a couple of expensive tickets,
- 33:26Speaker 4: it was like $ 100. That's how we got it.
- 33:27Speaker 3: Well, I know last week when I was looking at
- 33:28Speaker 3: buying tickets for some customers, it was like $ 800 for
- 33:31Speaker 3: a decent ticket in Tiger Stadium.
- 33:33Speaker 4: Oh, yeah, for sure. LSU was like $ 28 this week.
- 33:35Speaker 6: So they weren't– and higher end so is that the
- 33:40Speaker 6: one you said that we're probably all going to get
- 33:42Speaker 6: yes okay yeah.
- 33:43Speaker 5: All right let's go to the lowest ticket in the
- 33:45Speaker 5: country involving at least one top 25 team is it
- 33:49Speaker 5: ull at usc southern at houston tennessee at georgia tech
- 33:58Speaker 5: uc davis at smu or is it norfolk state at
- 34:02Speaker 5: virginia So, ULL, USC, Southern and Houston, Tennessee, Georgia Tech,
- 34:08Speaker 5: UC Davis, SMU, Norfolk State, Virginia.
- 34:12Speaker 4: Alondra and Tay-Tay, kick us off.
- 34:15Speaker 2: I'm going to go ULL, USC.
- 34:17Speaker 8: Yeah, that's got to be the answer. USC doesn't even
- 34:20Speaker 8: have real fans. Nobody will even show up to the stadium.
- 34:24Speaker 8: And you're taking on the lonely, raging Cajuns from down
- 34:26Speaker 8: the road. It's got to be USC versus ULL.
- 34:28Speaker 3: Okay.
- 34:30Speaker 2: Okay.
- 34:31Speaker 4: Dick Dixon.
- 34:31Speaker 3: That's where I'm at. All right. ULO, USC. All right.
- 34:34Speaker 6: I'm not going to go with that just because I'm
- 34:36Speaker 6: going to be different here. I would probably– I would
- 34:38Speaker 6: have said if I was the first pick, but I'm
- 34:40Speaker 6: just going to say it's California. Everything's expensive in California,
- 34:43Speaker 6: so it's at least got.
- 34:44Speaker 3: To be expensive. USC doesn't go to the big games.
- 34:46Speaker 6: Maybe that's why people aren't going because the tickets are
- 34:48Speaker 6: too pricey. My second– I'm between Southern at Houston and
- 34:53Speaker 6: Norfolk at Virginia. I'm going to say maybe it's a
- 34:56Speaker 6: little bit more travel– I'm going to go Norfolk at Virginia.
- 34:58Speaker 3: That was my second one.
- 34:59Speaker 4: You know, Norfolk's like right by Virginia.
- 35:01Speaker 3: Yeah, I know. Me neither. God dang it.
- 35:04Speaker 5: All right, we'll go from the most expensive ticket to
- 35:07Speaker 5: the least expensive ticket. At $ 128, I thought if I
- 35:10Speaker 5: threw this one in there, maybe it would throw you
- 35:12Speaker 5: all off the scent a little bit. Tennessee at Georgia Tech, $ 128.
- 35:16Speaker 5: Georgia Tech lost the first game.
- 35:18Speaker 4: That didn't work. All right, let's go to at $ 25.
- 35:20Speaker 4: It is Southern at Houston. 25 bones.
- 35:27Speaker 5: At $ 17, it's ULL at USC.
- 35:31Speaker 3: $ 17. Oh, there we go. I'm still in it. Pricing
- 35:32Speaker 3: ticket for that game. Still in it.
- 35:35Speaker 4: At $ 12, it is UC Davis at SMU. Let's go.
- 35:39Speaker 4: Come on. And for $ 11, Norfolk State and UVA, $ 11.
- 35:44Speaker 4: The cheapest ticket this weekend.
- 35:46Speaker 3: Two for two, baby. High fives for me. Involving a
- 35:47Speaker 3: top 25 team. I love beating y'all. That was my
- 35:52Speaker 3: second choice. I mean, I feel close. Kind of like
- 35:54Speaker 3: you were on the other time.
- 35:55Speaker 2: That wasn't even your first choice. That wasn't even your
- 35:56Speaker 2: first choice.
- 35:57Speaker 3: Also, Matt, you accidentally got that correctly. You didn't know
- 36:00Speaker 3: where Norfolk was.
- 36:02Speaker 4: LLUSC.
- 36:05Speaker 3: Whatever, guys. I'm a winner. Haters be hating.
- 36:08Speaker 5: All right, so the least expensive ticket to get in
- 36:10Speaker 5: is Norfolk State at UVA at $ 11. The most expensive
- 36:14Speaker 5: ticket this weekend, Ohio State and Texas for $ 465.
- 36:18Speaker 4: And we're talking about just to get two feet.
- 36:22Speaker 5: Into the stadium that's impressive that is very impressive not
- 36:26Speaker 5: a small stadium no it's not not at all that
- 36:29Speaker 5: is going to be a uh a great environment to
- 36:32Speaker 5: say the least all right we'll step away for the
- 36:34Speaker 5: final time and when we come back we're going to
- 36:37Speaker 5: give you a prediction for lsu and louisiana tech And also,
- 36:40Speaker 5: we're going to answer.
- 36:41Speaker 3: Yeah, we've got to say bye to Richard.
- 36:42Speaker 4: We've got to say bye.
- 36:43Speaker 3: Bye, guys. Hey, we love you.
- 36:44Speaker 4: You've got to go meet Hanny at Rufino's.
- 36:47Speaker 3: LSU's going to whip some butt.
- 36:49Speaker 4: Are they covering 35 and a half?
- 36:51Speaker 1: Yes.
- 36:51Speaker 4: All right, there you go. You heard it from Dick
- 36:52Speaker 4: Dixon himself. We will step away.
- 36:55Speaker 5: We'll give you our final prediction for LSU versus La Tech. Also,
- 36:58Speaker 5: the Saints versus the Lions. And we'll answer your questions.
- 37:02Speaker 5: We'll ask the bench brought to you by Ice Cold
- 37:04Speaker 5: Dos Equis. All when we jump back here live from Rouse's.
- 37:08Speaker 4: Off the bench.
- 37:10Speaker 5: All right, go to TrashRangers.com, TrashRangers.com, residential commercial trash pickup service.
- 37:15Speaker 5: They've also got three different sizes of roll-off dumpsters to
- 37:17Speaker 5: choose from.
- 37:18Speaker 4: Make sure you have the right size dumpster on your project.
- 37:21Speaker 5: Remember, you call them, you tell them what you have,
- 37:23Speaker 5: they're going to make sure you have the right size.
- 37:25Speaker 5: And if you undersell it, it's okay, they'll come, they'll
- 37:27Speaker 5: empty it, they'll bring it right back to you. An
- 37:29Speaker 5: incredible service, one of many incredible services, including weekly text reminders. Hey,
- 37:33Speaker 5: you big dum-dum, put out your trash. They word it
- 37:35Speaker 5: a little bit nicer than we do, but that's what
- 37:37Speaker 5: it is, TrashRangers.com.
- 37:39Speaker 6: They are free to use dum-dum because I think it's
- 37:41Speaker 6: fair because sometimes you feel like a dum-dum when you
- 37:43Speaker 6: forget to take that trash out. So make sure you
- 37:44Speaker 6: never forget it again. The best trash removal service in
- 37:47Speaker 6: all of Louisiana. Put that on anything. Don't forget about
- 37:50Speaker 6: their sanitation department. We're talking portable toilets. I got one
- 37:53Speaker 6: in my house because I got a little project happening
- 37:54Speaker 6: in my house. I got it sitting there right next
- 37:56Speaker 6: to the roll-off dumpster. So work with the best, best
- 37:58Speaker 6: customer service, best product, best pickup service.
- 38:02Speaker 3: Go to TrashRangers.com.
- 38:10Speaker 1: From the locker room to the airwaves, it's Off the
- 38:13Speaker 1: Bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 38:24Speaker 4: All right, welcome back in, OTV.
- 38:27Speaker 5: Taylor said, I'm still thinking about Electronic Bay.
- 38:30Speaker 4: I thought the E in eBay.
- 38:35Speaker 3: Is that bad?
- 38:38Speaker 4: Yeah, I think so.
- 38:40Speaker 3: What does it stand for? I'm looking it up right now.
- 38:42Speaker 4: It's like an e-commerce website.
- 38:44Speaker 6: Short version of Echo Bay.
- 38:47Speaker 3: So nothing.
- 38:48Speaker 4: But not electronic. I mean, they sell so many things.
- 38:51Speaker 3: I mean, e-commerce stands for electronic commerce.
- 38:54Speaker 4: Yeah, but that's... Not what it stands for.
- 38:57Speaker 3: It stands for Echo Bay. My bad.
- 39:00Speaker 4: But you're so confident, I think. That's what made it funny.
- 39:03Speaker 4: All right. LSU, Louisiana Tech.
- 39:08Speaker 5: LSU, 35.5 point favorite. I think LSU covers. I know
- 39:11Speaker 5: it's a huge, huge number. But this team played so angry.
- 39:17Speaker 5: They played with a purpose. They played with a point
- 39:20Speaker 5: of emphasis to do what they had to do no
- 39:22Speaker 5: matter who was in the game. I think Lane Kiffin
- 39:25Speaker 5: challenged the backup players, was disappointed that the backup players
- 39:29Speaker 5: allowed a touchdown.
- 39:30Speaker 4: Late in that game.
- 39:31Speaker 5: I think Tiger Stadium, which is sold out, is going
- 39:33Speaker 5: to be electric. It might not be the pregame festivities
- 39:36Speaker 5: that it was a week ago, but it's still going
- 39:38Speaker 5: to be Tiger Stadium. I cannot wait. I think LSU
- 39:42Speaker 5: takes care of Louisiana Tech, and I think they cover
- 39:45Speaker 5: the 35.5, and I know that's a massive number.
- 39:49Speaker 6: Yeah, it's a big number, but it's a fair number.
- 39:53Speaker 6: I mean, you look at what they did, and it's
- 39:56Speaker 6: actually a credit probably to Louisiana Tech a little bit,
- 39:59Speaker 6: and I know that's weird to say because it's 35
- 40:01Speaker 6: and a half, but you look around at the lines
- 40:05Speaker 6: throughout the country, last week and this week, and there
- 40:09Speaker 6: are so many in the 40s and 50s, and it's
- 40:12Speaker 6: not just like It's not just the.
- 40:14Speaker 3: Top teams in the country either.
- 40:15Speaker 6: There are so many more bigger lines that are bigger
- 40:19Speaker 6: than this game. I think it's a credit because, what,
- 40:23Speaker 6: they scored 80 points last week.
- 40:25Speaker 3: 80 to 6. And I get it. It's against Northwestern.
- 40:27Speaker 6: But 80 points is hard to do. Blake Baker, quarterback
- 40:31Speaker 6: for Louisiana Tech. That's right.
- 40:33Speaker 3: You heard that right. 230-something, whatever.
- 40:36Speaker 6: Well, Blake Baker for LSU. Pretty good at his job
- 40:40Speaker 6: as well. One first down last week. I think, what,
- 40:41Speaker 6: eight first downs Clemson had last week. I think that
- 40:44Speaker 6: defense is motivated. I think they fly around. I think
- 40:47Speaker 6: LSU certainly gets it done. Let's say, I don't know,
- 40:50Speaker 6: 49 to 6. How about that?
- 40:54Speaker 3: Like that?
- 40:54Speaker 4: I like it.
- 40:55Speaker 5: Alonzo Tete, real quick, does LSU cover the spread against
- 40:59Speaker 5: Louisiana Tech?
- 41:00Speaker 8: Yeah, they covered the spread. Can we break the scoreboard?
- 41:02Speaker 8: Can we get that scoreboard operator? Get those fingers working
- 41:05Speaker 8: a little bit. I want a ton of points in
- 41:07Speaker 8: this game. Like, I don't want to slowly walk into
- 41:09Speaker 8: this like we did last year. Let's put up 70.
- 41:12Speaker 8: You're paying them to come down here. Why don't you
- 41:13Speaker 8: kick the crap out of them in the process?
- 41:15Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel like they're definitely going to cover the, what,
- 41:18Speaker 2: 33 and a half?
- 41:19Speaker 3: Is that what it was?
- 41:21Speaker 2: Because I think they're going to win by more than
- 41:23Speaker 2: 50 points. I'm going to get LSU 65, Louisiana Tech.
- 41:26Speaker 3: I'll give them 10. All right.
- 41:29Speaker 6: And look, we're, we're still kind of in this, this
- 41:31Speaker 6: world right now to where we still have no clue
- 41:36Speaker 6: how bad Clemson truly is.
- 41:38Speaker 4: Right.
- 41:38Speaker 6: But if you look, you watch the tape, LSU executed
- 41:42Speaker 6: at a very high clip, a very high level. Now look, it's,
- 41:45Speaker 6: it's after crazy overreactions to everything in all sports after
- 41:51Speaker 6: one game, after one week. Um, LSU has earned that
- 41:56Speaker 6: right last week to overreact a little bit. So, yeah,
- 41:58Speaker 6: we're confident. Yeah, and I think the whole motivation factor,
- 42:02Speaker 6: the SEC versus LSU, everybody coming together, all the things
- 42:05Speaker 6: that we hear out of that building as it has
- 42:07Speaker 6: galvanized that team even more. So I don't think the
- 42:11Speaker 6: motivation is going to be a factor. And, look, sold-out crowd,
- 42:15Speaker 6: Tiger Stadium for Louisiana Tech. Usually those top upper decks,
- 42:18Speaker 6: the top, like, the left and right corners, the upper decks,
- 42:21Speaker 6: a little barren for games like this.
- 42:23Speaker 3: And I get it. Absolutely. But show out, be loud,
- 42:30Speaker 3: let them hear it.
- 42:31Speaker 5: Real quick, Flint, I think the New Orleans Saints cover
- 42:34Speaker 5: also against the Detroit Lions. The number is at seven.
- 42:37Speaker 5: I'm not saying they outright win the game, but I
- 42:40Speaker 5: think they cover. that number, and I'm expecting a hard-fought
- 42:44Speaker 5: game from the.
- 42:44Speaker 3: New Orleans Saints.
- 42:46Speaker 6: Yeah, and again, 49.5 total is the over-under, which is
- 42:50Speaker 6: a big number. And it's a big number to be
- 42:52Speaker 6: seven-point dogs as well. So I agree with you. I
- 42:54Speaker 6: think they cover. I think hopefully what I want to
- 42:57Speaker 6: see is a little coming-out party offensively for Tyler Shuck
- 43:01Speaker 6: and the New Orleans Saints. They're playing against a defensive
- 43:04Speaker 6: line crew that has their two starting safeties out. So
- 43:07Speaker 6: attack the middle of the field. Attack, attack, attack. and
- 43:13Speaker 6: make Detroit earn it on offense.
- 43:15Speaker 3: Could be a shootout.
- 43:16Speaker 5: All right, let's go to a little Ask the Bench
- 43:17Speaker 5: brought to you by Icicle Dos Equis. Did Flynn pull
- 43:20Speaker 5: those my highs off the shelf, or did he bring those?
- 43:23Speaker 6: Oh, these are from the shelf, and they're going right
- 43:25Speaker 6: back on the shelf. So if you are thirsty, if
- 43:27Speaker 6: you are getting ready for the game tomorrow and want
- 43:29Speaker 6: a little, I like to call it a little cocktail,
- 43:30Speaker 6: a little walker. You can walk around with it all
- 43:31Speaker 6: day because you're hydrating while you dehydrate.
- 43:35Speaker 4: Hashtag Ask the Bench, is Brian Kelly the worst hire
- 43:37Speaker 4: in LSU history? That's a load.
- 43:39Speaker 5: I mean, there's been coaches that aren't as good as him,
- 43:42Speaker 5: but obviously it was a lot of money, so I
- 43:44Speaker 5: understand the question.
- 43:44Speaker 3: The way it turned out. The way it ended.
- 43:46Speaker 4: I understand the question.
- 43:47Speaker 5: Hashtag Ask the Bench, is attending a college football game
- 43:50Speaker 5: becoming too expensive for the common fan? LSU RV parking
- 43:53Speaker 5: pass is now $ 750 and going up.
- 43:56Speaker 4: It's expensive to go to any sporting event. Hell, it's
- 43:59Speaker 4: expensive to go to high school.
- 44:00Speaker 5: We went last night to U-High Madison Prep, and it
- 44:04Speaker 5: was $ 85.
- 44:05Speaker 4: $ 85.
- 44:05Speaker 5: And two of my sons weren't with me.
- 44:09Speaker 4: They were on the field playing. Wow.
- 44:11Speaker 2: $ 85.
- 44:12Speaker 5: And the sweet lady at the front didn't charge Harlow. Catholic,
- 44:16Speaker 5: the Jamboree, they charged Harlow. Madison Prep did not.
- 44:19Speaker 4: So, yeah. I mean, $ 85. Just to get into a
- 44:22Speaker 4: high school football game.
- 44:24Speaker 6: Yeah. Not cheap to go to Norfolk, Virginia. But most games,
- 44:28Speaker 6: the parking pass is the RV.
- 44:29Speaker 3: I get it. It is expensive. And unfortunately, I wish
- 44:35Speaker 3: we had a better answer for you. I don't know.
- 44:36Speaker 6: That's not going to change. It's not going to go
- 44:38Speaker 6: down at any point for any sport across the country.
- 44:41Speaker 4: Hashtag Ask the Bench.
- 44:42Speaker 3: Unless you stink.
- 44:42Speaker 4: Flynn should autograph those boxes, then put them back on
- 44:45Speaker 4: the shelf.
- 44:46Speaker 3: I'm trying to sell them. So, I don't think so.
- 44:51Speaker 5: Hashtag Ask the Bench. Who's going to be the leading
- 44:53Speaker 5: receiver for LSU this weekend?
- 44:58Speaker 3: Trey Wilson. Tony Watkins.
- 45:05Speaker 4: I don't really care as long as they just keep
- 45:06Speaker 4: doing what they're doing.
- 45:08Speaker 3: Sam Levin.
- 45:09Speaker 4: I was going to catch it, too. All right, it's
- 45:11Speaker 4: going to do it for us. We appreciate you today.
