- 0:04Speaker 1: one was out.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Did you do it? Did you do it? Toby and
- 0:07Speaker 2: Chilly in the Morning. It's ninety seven point one wash
- 0:09Speaker 2: FM talking about did you find some joy by the
- 0:13Speaker 2: pool there at Chili Lamar?
- 0:14Speaker 3: You know I did?
- 0:16Speaker 4: You're right, absolutely, And I love how you said buy
- 0:19Speaker 4: the pool. Not in the pool because I dipped my feets.
- 0:23Speaker 5: Yeah no, I mean, look it was the water.
- 0:26Speaker 3: Is not ready for me.
- 0:27Speaker 5: No.
- 0:28Speaker 3: My son on the other hand, well, he shivered his
- 0:30Speaker 3: way through whatever.
- 0:31Speaker 5: But that's how it was in my neighborhood.
- 0:33Speaker 2: This kids were jumping right in, but all the grown
- 0:35Speaker 2: folk was laying out by the pool trying to get
- 0:37Speaker 2: their base tan.
- 0:38Speaker 5: Laid down.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess you know. That's what you do. First,
- 0:41Speaker 2: you go get your base tan, then you go to
- 0:43Speaker 2: a tanning bed. At least That's what I've learned from
- 0:46Speaker 2: from watching. That is not a good PSA. Y'all need
- 0:48Speaker 2: to protect yourselves.
- 0:49Speaker 4: I've got a story to share with you perhaps tomorrow
- 0:52Speaker 4: about my husband right and said son worshiping.
- 0:56Speaker 3: But you just have to be very careful.
- 0:58Speaker 5: Yes, very true.
- 1:00Speaker 2: So remember the sun is a better tanning solution than say,
- 1:05Speaker 2: any other tanning.
- 1:06Speaker 3: Solution or screen is also a good solution.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Well, yes, you're supposed to spray that that helps bring
- 1:11Speaker 2: forth the tan naturally. But yeah, I feel you, man.
- 1:14Speaker 2: I wanted to jump into the pool so bad, but
- 1:17Speaker 2: I know from growing up in Texas and having a
- 1:19Speaker 2: pool that if the weather is cooperating, it's going to
- 1:25Speaker 2: take a good three to five days for the pool
- 1:28Speaker 2: water to catch up unless you have like a heater
- 1:30Speaker 2: for it, and you know what, no heater for it.
- 1:33Speaker 2: But anyway, I'm feeling good this weekend because it was
- 1:34Speaker 2: the weekend. I'm feeling great because I had the chance
- 1:37Speaker 2: to just relax, unwind and actually clean the new hardwood flooring,
- 1:42Speaker 2: vinyl laminate whatever they.
- 1:44Speaker 5: Call it stuff.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, for the first time. And then I realized
- 1:47Speaker 2: what am I going to do with this vacuum?
- 1:49Speaker 5: Now?
- 1:49Speaker 2: Oh that's right, I still have carpet in my bedroom
- 1:52Speaker 2: and Kylo, yeah that's right, little wins. Anyway, why are
- 1:55Speaker 2: you feeling good this morning? Eight six six, nineteen seven
- 1:57Speaker 2: forty three sixty one is the number?
- 1:59Speaker 5: Give us a call. Share Klaska is joy is contagious.
- 2:01Speaker 2: In the meantime, we got top stories at the Top
- 2:04Speaker 2: of the Hour on the way because the news is
- 2:06Speaker 2: contagious and you need to know.
- 2:08Speaker 5: This morning, Chilli, what's going on.
- 2:09Speaker 4: If you're single and you don't have a pet, it
- 2:13Speaker 4: may be time to get one. I'll tell you why
- 2:16Speaker 4: pets can be a major advantage in the dating world.
- 2:19Speaker 3: Coming up in just a few minutes.
- 2:23Speaker 6: Top Stories, Top of the Hour.
- 2:25Speaker 4: Iran says it will reject any US deal that does
- 2:29Speaker 4: not fully protect its interest. The response comes after reports
- 2:33Speaker 4: that the President submitted a tougher proposal while Tehran continues
- 2:38Speaker 4: to seek access to frozen assets and other concessions. The
- 2:42Speaker 4: driver of the bus that was involved in last week's
- 2:44Speaker 4: deadly ninety five crash in Stafford County has been arrested
- 2:48Speaker 4: and charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter. Authority say
- 2:52Speaker 4: forty eight year old Jing Dong was driving at a
- 2:55Speaker 4: high rate of speed and failed to slow down in
- 2:59Speaker 4: a work zone. The crash killed five people and injured
- 3:03Speaker 4: forty four others. Police responded to a reported bomb threat
- 3:07Speaker 4: at MGM National Harbor yesterday morning. It prompted a lockdown
- 3:11Speaker 4: and a search of the property. After investigating authorities determined
- 3:15Speaker 4: there was no credible threat and the lockdown was lifted.
- 3:19Speaker 4: Arlington school leaders are close to reproving a deal that
- 3:23Speaker 4: would move Arlington Community High School to Amazon's HQ two
- 3:27Speaker 4: campus in Pentagon City as early as this fall under
- 3:31Speaker 4: the proposal thirty year agreement. Under the rather proposed thirty
- 3:35Speaker 4: year agreement, Amazon would provide the space rent free, and
- 3:39Speaker 4: according to recent survey, pets can be a major advantage
- 3:43Speaker 4: in the dating world, with sixty five percent of gen
- 3:46Speaker 4: Z and millennial singles saying they're more likely to like
- 3:50Speaker 4: a profile that features a cute pet. Eighty two percent
- 3:54Speaker 4: of pet owners say they would choose their pet over
- 3:57Speaker 4: a romantic partner if they were worst to pick between
- 4:01Speaker 4: the two. Forecast today partly cloudy skies, highs around eighty
- 4:06Speaker 4: right now sixty in McLean.
- 4:08Speaker 5: And that is the news. You're up to date with
- 4:10Speaker 5: the stories that matter.
- 4:11Speaker 2: That's what you get with top stories at the top
- 4:13Speaker 2: of the hour, Toby and Chilly in the morning, it's
- 4:15Speaker 2: ninety seven point one.
- 4:16Speaker 5: Wash at them.
- 4:17Speaker 2: And you also get a dose of what we hope
- 4:20Speaker 2: will pick you up and help you to either reinvent
- 4:23Speaker 2: what you're going through this morning, or will help you
- 4:25Speaker 2: set the tone to have a better day, or might
- 4:28Speaker 2: add fuel to the fire of the winds. You just
- 4:30Speaker 2: keep racking up. Your morning mindset is on the way
- 4:33Speaker 2: in the next twenty minutes. Stay right there, you are
- 4:36Speaker 2: waking up with Washington's variety of the eighties, nineties, and
- 4:39Speaker 2: today we're Toby and Chilly in the morning at ninety
- 4:41Speaker 2: seven point one. Wash at them. Let's pause for a minute,
- 4:45Speaker 2: and let's talk about you and how you are doing
- 4:47Speaker 2: this morning.
- 4:48Speaker 3: It's called our morning mindset.
- 4:49Speaker 4: We find a quote and share it with you to
- 4:51Speaker 4: think about it as you start a new work week.
- 4:53Speaker 2: This is really simple and probably the shortest morning mindset
- 4:57Speaker 2: you'll hear from me.
- 4:58Speaker 7: Ever.
- 4:59Speaker 2: Okay, just two words this morning, begin anywhere. John Cage
- 5:06Speaker 2: said this. Now, if you want to know who John
- 5:08Speaker 2: Cage is, I'd say go to Wikipedia. But if you
- 5:11Speaker 2: need a link, I'll put one up with this post.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Begin anywhere, because an imperfect start beats perfectly. Standing still.
- 5:24Speaker 2: You know you could be starting your day. You don't
- 5:27Speaker 2: know what you're going through, you don't know what the
- 5:28Speaker 2: day is going to bring, but you know that you
- 5:30Speaker 2: got it started. You got out of bed, you got
- 5:32Speaker 2: behind the wheel of your car. You're driving to your office.
- 5:35Speaker 2: Maybe right now getting the kids ready to go for lunch.
- 5:38Speaker 2: Maybe you just feel like you need a break. But
- 5:39Speaker 2: you know what, begin anywhere, and remember you don't have
- 5:43Speaker 2: to be perfect. In fact, if we're listening to John Cage,
- 5:47Speaker 2: starting in an imperfect way beats standing still perfectly. Keep
- 5:54Speaker 2: that in mind. Go and make Monday happen. It's the
- 5:57Speaker 2: start of a brand new week. Hopefully that helps to
- 5:59Speaker 2: your morning mindset. Got something to share, fine, it's Toby
- 6:01Speaker 2: and Chilipage WASHFM dot com. In the meantime, stay there
- 6:05Speaker 2: because next.
- 6:06Speaker 3: You said you received a mystery package.
- 6:08Speaker 2: Yeah, for the life of me, I don't know and
- 6:11Speaker 2: can't figure out where this came from. Okay, I know
- 6:15Speaker 2: I might have been responsible, but I'll tell you about it.
- 6:18Speaker 5: Chili coming up in just a few minutes. Stay with us.
- 6:20Speaker 2: Do you ever have something to show up at your
- 6:22Speaker 2: place and you have no idea where it came from?
- 6:26Speaker 2: That is my life over the last few days. Toby
- 6:29Speaker 2: and Chili in the morning, it's ninety seven point one WASHFM. Chili.
- 6:33Speaker 2: I got something that I've had an eye on for
- 6:35Speaker 2: a while. Okay, I just don't remember buying it. It's
- 6:38Speaker 2: a clock that I saw online. It's designed by the
- 6:40Speaker 2: guy who used to work at Apple. I'm a fan,
- 6:42Speaker 2: and I thought this was a cool clock to have
- 6:45Speaker 2: by the side of the bed.
- 6:46Speaker 7: You know.
- 6:46Speaker 4: So you remember looking at it on the internet. Sure,
- 6:49Speaker 4: it showed up at your doorstep, right, and you don't
- 6:52Speaker 4: remember purchasing it.
- 6:53Speaker 3: You remember looking at it, no.
- 6:55Speaker 2: And you know, I first got like the FedEx notification
- 6:58Speaker 2: that it was in that it was being shipped.
- 7:00Speaker 5: Uh huh, and that made me raise an eyebrow.
- 7:03Speaker 2: And then it showed up and I opened it and
- 7:05Speaker 2: there it was, and there was the you know, your
- 7:07Speaker 2: receipt basically.
- 7:08Speaker 4: And firm that you were charged that amount if you
- 7:11Speaker 4: went back on your credit card statement.
- 7:12Speaker 5: Well, I have it.
- 7:13Speaker 2: It's on the dining room table for me to go through.
- 7:15Speaker 2: I haven't gotten around to it yet, but I did
- 7:18Speaker 2: go search through my emails, you know, because they always
- 7:21Speaker 2: typically email you some kind of confirmation.
- 7:23Speaker 8: Shit.
- 7:23Speaker 5: I couldn't find it.
- 7:24Speaker 2: The only one I could find was the thing that
- 7:26Speaker 2: made me look at it to begin with, which was
- 7:28Speaker 2: like a percentage off code or something.
- 7:31Speaker 3: Oh my good.
- 7:31Speaker 4: Here's the thing about that. This was a very different
- 7:34Speaker 4: designated website. It wasn't like an Amazon situation. No right,
- 7:37Speaker 4: not at all, because sometimes what happens is when you
- 7:40Speaker 4: put things in an Amazon cart and you forget to
- 7:42Speaker 4: save for later, you go back and you purchase whatever's
- 7:45Speaker 4: in the car.
- 7:45Speaker 3: You go, oh, darn it, I must have done that.
- 7:47Speaker 5: I've done that.
- 7:48Speaker 3: This is something that was an effort.
- 7:52Speaker 9: Yeah, required thought and it required costs. Okay, so here's
- 7:55Speaker 9: the question I have now. Yeah, you have it. You
- 7:59Speaker 9: were probably charged. Are you keeping it or are you
- 8:01Speaker 9: returning it?
- 8:02Speaker 4: Oh?
- 8:02Speaker 2: I'm keeping it because I like it and I just
- 8:04Speaker 2: figured you know what, That was the universe's way of saying,
- 8:07Speaker 2: you don't know how you did this, but for whatever reason,
- 8:10Speaker 2: the universe did it around me.
- 8:12Speaker 3: You have ever been drinking for two years, It wasn't
- 8:14Speaker 3: drunk shopping.
- 8:15Speaker 2: Plus no, it wasn't like back in the day.
- 8:18Speaker 3: But you may have been drowsy shopping.
- 8:20Speaker 4: You may have been really half asleep and you decided
- 8:22Speaker 4: to click by.
- 8:23Speaker 2: I mean, I won't rule that out as a possibility.
- 8:27Speaker 2: But in the meantime, if you want to see this
- 8:28Speaker 2: clock that I got for myself, you could see it,
- 8:31Speaker 2: and I'll even put the link so you can mysteriously
- 8:34Speaker 2: have one show up at your house too. Toby and
- 8:36Speaker 2: Chili page, go to wasfm dot com. Check it out
- 8:38Speaker 2: when you get a chance. Next with Toby and Chilly

- 12:33Speaker 4: to get out of her way, despite the fact the
- 12:34Speaker 4: plane doors hadn't even opened yet. But then there's a
- 12:37Speaker 4: guy who confronts her and says, your mother didn't raise
- 12:41Speaker 4: you right, which is something we may have all thought
- 12:44Speaker 4: at one point or another once we've witnessed somebody acting
- 12:48Speaker 4: a fool.
- 12:48Speaker 5: But the truth sometimes hurts.
- 12:50Speaker 3: Who raised you?
- 12:51Speaker 5: That's right, who raised you?
- 12:53Speaker 7: You?
- 12:54Speaker 5: Entitled?
- 12:54Speaker 3: MoMA?
- 12:55Speaker 8: God?
- 12:55Speaker 3: What? What?
- 12:56Speaker 5: What? Who do you think you are?
- 12:58Speaker 4: Oh? My goodness, I hope mom have tried. Mom and
- 13:00Speaker 4: dad both tried to raise that person. Right, They made
- 13:03Speaker 4: their own choices, But right I don't know if you
- 13:05Speaker 4: can think of a time where you've thought that question.
- 13:07Speaker 4: I know recently, as I was driving behind somebody, they
- 13:10Speaker 4: threw trash out the window, and I swear that.
- 13:13Speaker 3: Thought crossed my mind. I'm like, who raised you?
- 13:16Speaker 7: Like?
- 13:17Speaker 3: What made you think that's okay?
- 13:19Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 13:20Speaker 3: Grown adult? You know? Like, what are you doing?
- 13:23Speaker 2: That happens in the parking lot by a certain grocery
- 13:26Speaker 2: store near where I live all the time. I don't
- 13:29Speaker 2: know who these people are that think that they can
- 13:31Speaker 2: just park however they want. But don't you go firing
- 13:34Speaker 2: that side of me up. I've gone through a lot
- 13:37Speaker 2: of therapy to suppress that triggering stuff.
- 13:40Speaker 5: You're entitled behavior.
- 13:42Speaker 2: The only thing worse than that popping off on somebody
- 13:44Speaker 2: who's taking care of you in a grocery store. Why
- 13:46Speaker 2: is the grocery store the source of all of this stress?
- 13:50Speaker 2: Toby and Chilly in the morning, it's ninety seven point one?
- 13:52Speaker 2: Wasch FM? Have you encountered somebody entitled? What happened?
- 13:56Speaker 5: Where were you?

- 14:00Speaker 2: ask them who raised you?
- 14:02Speaker 3: You certainly thought it.
- 14:03Speaker 5: That's right?
- 14:04Speaker 2: Eight sixty six ninet two seven forty three sixty one

- 14:16Speaker 2: who raised you?
- 14:18Speaker 5: With Toby and Chilli in the morning.
- 14:19Speaker 2: And we're talking about it because there was a woman
- 14:21Speaker 2: who was on a flight that apparently decided she was entitled.
- 14:24Speaker 4: Yeah, she was kind of pushing her way to the front,
- 14:26Speaker 4: and one of the other passengers literally said, your mother
- 14:30Speaker 4: didn't raise you right.
- 14:32Speaker 5: Called it out And the truth sometimes hurts.
- 14:34Speaker 3: And we've thought that before.

- 14:55Speaker 2: about this entitled behavior?
- 14:57Speaker 5: When was it Black Friday?
- 14:58Speaker 3: So what happened on that Black Friday?
- 15:00Speaker 7: I've seen a grown man jump over a buck and.
- 15:04Speaker 2: He jumped over the palace and grabbed it and pulled
- 15:08Speaker 2: it up and ran away with.
- 15:09Speaker 5: It black Kredie shoppers.
- 15:11Speaker 2: I was like, are you serious?
- 15:13Speaker 5: Who raised you?
- 15:14Speaker 4: I appreciate the call, but we should not assume that
- 15:18Speaker 4: mom and dad didn't try to raise that person, right,
- 15:21Speaker 4: It's just a matter of whether they really cared about
- 15:24Speaker 4: the lesson that mom and dad tried to.
- 15:25Speaker 2: Instare you go, grown man acting a fool on the

- 16:15Speaker 2: Right, And I mean, I'm not any kind of a psychologist,

- 21:41Speaker 4: Inside of Prince George's County Library, a new free grocery
- 21:45Speaker 4: store is changing how families shop for food. Got to
- 21:48Speaker 4: hear this with Toby and Chilly in the morning next time.
- 21:51Speaker 4: Now for a story that we think might just make
- 21:54Speaker 4: your Monday. If you're just finding us for Toby and
- 21:56Speaker 4: Chilly in the morning, it's ninety seven point one Wash FM.
- 21:58Speaker 4: Welcome on Monday's Right around this time, we take a
- 22:01Speaker 4: look at something good that's happening, hopefully right here in
- 22:03Speaker 4: the DMV, because there's a lot of good to be
- 22:05Speaker 4: found right around here. And this morning we take you
- 22:08Speaker 4: to Prince George's County and we go inside a library
- 22:11Speaker 4: where there's a new kind of grocery store that's opened
- 22:14Speaker 4: its doors for people, one where nothing is wrung up
- 22:18Speaker 4: at the register. Yeah, it's called the Fairmont Heights Free
- 22:22Speaker 4: Grocery Store, and it's tucked inside a local library space,
- 22:25Speaker 4: and it's designed to actually look and feel like a
- 22:28Speaker 4: neighborhood market, but instead of prices and checkout lines, families
- 22:31Speaker 4: are welcomed in and they're invited to shop for what
- 22:34Speaker 4: they need at no cost.
- 22:36Speaker 5: That's right.
- 22:37Speaker 2: And people move through the aisles. They get fresh fruits, veggies, milk, meat,
- 22:42Speaker 2: staples for the pantry. They get the stuff like they
- 22:45Speaker 2: would get at any really grocery store or any kind
- 22:47Speaker 2: of neighborhood market, but the ending is so much different.
- 22:50Speaker 2: The goal to give residents not just food but dignity
- 22:55Speaker 2: and choice in how they access it now.
- 22:57Speaker 4: The program is focused on addressing food and stad security in
- 23:00Speaker 4: the community where rising costs and limited grocery access have
- 23:04Speaker 4: really made weekly shopping tough for a lot of households.
- 23:07Speaker 4: Families are selected for the program and they are allowed
- 23:10Speaker 4: to stock up for the week and leave with bags
- 23:13Speaker 4: full of essentials with no questions asked.
- 23:16Speaker 2: Wow, Fairmount Heights, this is quite the resource, especially given
- 23:21Speaker 2: everything with the prices of groceries and stuff. This is
- 23:24Speaker 2: a place that treats grocery shopping like it should be normal,
- 23:27Speaker 2: even if people need a little bit of help. And
- 23:29Speaker 2: it's an idea that I think. I think I can
- 23:32Speaker 2: speak for both of us Chilly when I say I
- 23:34Speaker 2: hope that this spreads because people really need to help
- 23:36Speaker 2: right now. What a story from Fairmount Heights, Prince George's
