Transcript
- 0:25Hello, and welcome to stat Leapers, the stat number based panel show where
- 0:28we shine a light onto everyone's favorite pop culture panel based show, gaily.
- 0:33I like it, Thank you, thank you. I'm your host and numerically
- 0:37knowledgeable narrator Nason Wynn. No, I don't know, Jason Winn. Sorry,
- 0:42I had to keep fans there, the little little alliteration. And today
- 0:46I'm joined by our usual captains. I'm gonna go with co host today.
- 0:50I'm not gonna gamify it. That would be really fun. I just can't
- 0:53be I just can't be honest to do that. It's really it's a difficult
- 0:57time of year for me. I'm joined by the lovely Auger Stevenson. Hello,
- 1:03and also the lovely Matt Watson. Hello. I'm not in the big
- 1:07chair. You're not in the big chair. How are you feeling about that?
- 1:08Man? I'm feeling good about it because this is now the second year
- 1:14we're doing this, so it's something that last year was a surprise. This
- 1:17year is something to look forward to. I've been looking forward to stat Leapers,
- 1:19so I'm looking forward to being in this chair to hear how all the
- 1:23numbers add up? Yeah, does do the percentages? Add up to a
- 1:27addam to one hundred. Let's find out is the math mathing Let's find out.
- 1:34Well, let's see they have some pretty shoddy Excel experience, but you're
- 1:38absolutely right. Another gate Leapers season in the books, Another stat Leapers.
- 1:42So I have been crunching the numbers away. I got some stats for us
- 1:47to discuss, some interesting little nibbles as well, like like story facts as
- 1:52well. So not just statistics, not just okay, something for the words
- 1:55people. Yeah, this is mainly for the number of people, but there's
- 1:59something for the word people. Take. You got to diversify, you gotta
- 2:01hit all the quadrants, you know in marketing. So we're working on kinetic,
- 2:06don't you worry. So with that, are you guys ready to jump
- 2:14into some stats and facts? Yeah? Absolutely, yeah, awesome? All
- 2:16right, Well, the first thing I like to point out this is new
- 2:20season season three. Lots of first in this season, okay, lots of
- 2:23format points changes that have been happening. The first one, with our very
- 2:28first episode of season three, is the first time someone hosted the show other
- 2:31than Matt And who would that person be? I have it in my notes
- 2:37me in capital letters in case I forgot and that happened with the last of
- 2:40Us. Yes episode, Yeah, how is that for you, Matt relinquishing
- 2:45the hosting chair. There, I loved it. My ego will allow it
- 2:49once a Yeah, as a one off, excellent. You've always got to
- 2:53break the rules that you set up. Yes, no, I I genuinely
- 2:55I loved it. Was so much fun. I wish I could be a
- 2:58player more often if I felt like it would work as as a concept,
- 3:04because I like keeping so much the same, so that as we change fandoms,
- 3:07that's the thing that's different every time. What's that science thing? Order
- 3:09change one variable something? Yeah, you kind of need to change your one
- 3:14variable, so you know which one's your dependent variable and misk Yeah, only
- 3:19change one variable at a time if you want reliable science. Exactly it's and
- 3:23so for that reason we can change then another thing on top of the fandom,
- 3:28and so we can change we can change the host once in a while.
- 3:30And yeah, it was great being in the player's chair. I believe.
- 3:35Yes, you did win. You did win. Let me pull up
- 3:38your stats. Actually, just oh, I gotta go down here a bit
- 3:40because you're pretty low on the board. Oh, as a player, my
- 3:45record is abysmal. Yeah, yeah, well it's not that abysmo if you
- 3:52if you look, it will be over fifty appearances on the podcast. Exactly
- 3:54right, Yeah, exactly right. There's a lot of people with one appearance
- 3:58and one hundred percent when ratio you got twenty two points. So okay,
- 4:03So again that means nothing because a lot of people sidebar, can we talk
- 4:06about what feels like a like a good score and gateleapers because obviously the games
- 4:12change, but this year, maybe more than ever, the games have been
- 4:15a bit more consistent. So this year I've been able to look at it
- 4:17and go, okay, like over twenty is a high score between fifteen and
- 4:21twenty is where people usually land? Yes, yeah, that is exactly right.
- 4:26Yeah, it's just so do we feel like it's we're starting to say,
- 4:30see, do we feel like you did a good job on your twenty?
- 4:34Yeah, that's what I'm asking. Well, here's the thing too,
- 4:38that yeah, because we I think in season two we finally broke the twenty
- 4:42mark. Was something that we did versus season Why, yes, we did
- 4:46break the thirty mark. Oh wow, which I'm shocked by here as I'm
- 4:49looking at my sets now and that was done by Odra and I think it
- 4:55was Stevie on the task Master episode at one point, Oh my crazy,
- 5:01that is not the highest point scorach in the gate Leapers history on a single
- 5:06round. We're going to get to that, but thirty one points, so
- 5:11it has been broken. So are you trying to escalate it every season?
- 5:14Is my question to you? Can we see forty are we going to see
- 5:17a forty four? Are we going to see a fault which means the average
- 5:21has to go up? I imagine. I think so. But isn't that
- 5:25the case with most things when when you're doing stats over time with like sports,
- 5:29it's like how the players of now, like Babe Ruth is a really
- 5:32famous like old baseball player on him to believe, but like sort of like
- 5:40the shittiest player on the shittiest team now would absolutely smash Babe Ruth because right,
- 5:46because that's like everyone gets better like time. If you watch the old
- 5:51timey Olympic gymnastics, they do a cartwheel and get a perfect ten exactly exactly.
- 5:57So I think yeah, is the answer to the question where we'll see
- 6:00forties, then then we'll see fifties, then we'll see sixties. One day
- 6:04we'll see one hundred, but it's not going to be for seven years.
- 6:08Okay, So we're gonna say it next season if you get if you bust
- 6:11over twenty decent still good. Yeah, not as well as it could have
- 6:15been, but you bust over twenty, it's decent. Let's say that.
- 6:17Yeah, the points creep will happen. You've heard it here. Okay,
- 6:19excellent, excellent, all right, you know what I'm gonna get point Kane
- 6:24next next year I might just starting point is the exclusives you come for here
- 6:29at stat Leapers. Yeah, Dona not No, I can't. It's a
- 6:32decision I came to three seconds ago. Excellent. I'm going to get very
- 6:35point king. Oh, I love that stat Leapers. Okay, so we
- 6:39talked about you and your stats, which is fantastic. Yes, now we
- 6:42gotta kind of have to hit a staple here. Me and Adre are the
- 6:46most recurring people on gate Leapers, so let's let's do our stats. I
- 6:50do want to ask you, Matt, as the other person in the room
- 6:54of the two of us, who do you think fared better? Just prediction
- 6:58one? So this year, so I believe at the end of last year,
- 7:01Oldra was ahead. Yes on total points. Yes, And I think
- 7:05win win percentage and win percentage, So I think this. I reckon it
- 7:10was close. I do think. I do think it was maybe close.
- 7:12I think you're right on that. So maybe Jason, maybe you got more
- 7:15points this year and closed the gap a little. Oh, let's see.
- 7:18Let's see. All right, So I'll start off with myself. Since you
- 7:21mentioned myself for total points in Gateleaper's history, I've now amassed nine hundred and
- 7:27seventy three oh five points points point five. Listen, I do the math
- 7:34I remember, which is a lot of freaking a lot of points. That's
- 7:39a lot of games we've played. That's a lot of To be precise,
- 7:42I've appeared fifty four times less than Audra. I've won twenty one of those,
- 7:46had three ties. Okay, I've had three ties. My win ratio
- 7:53is thirty eight point eight nine. Oh you're not it's great, Well,
- 8:00no, because I mean it's less than half. Because yeah, and you've
- 8:03been on most of the episodes. So that therefore, I'm gonna say my
- 8:09guess was wrong and older actually one more that is true. That is true.
- 8:13My only defense for both me and Audra because it is close. Is
- 8:16that in the first season it was free for all, So why you would
- 8:20expect fifty between me and Odra? Not necessarily Yeah, but my average points
- 8:28per game and apparently this is not great either based on what we just said
- 8:31five minutes ago, eighteen point zero three points, okay average getting close to
- 8:37twenty though, getting close to twenty yeah. Yeah. What I will say
- 8:39about ours is that we are since we are in more episodes, you're on
- 8:43more episodes of fandoms, you're not necessarily issue where a lot of guests.
- 8:50We really try to bring people on who are passionate about the topic that we're
- 8:54that's fair, like, thank you working with so you're on ones even Yeah,
- 9:01if anything, I get pushing for those episodes because it is like we
- 9:05need a dummy who we got. Yeah, you're an entertaining guy, especially
- 9:11when I'm clearless what I'm not clueless about Ouder's points. So Odre broke a
- 9:16thousand points crazy. I thought she would break it in Nancy Drew, which
- 9:26would have been monumentous. She actually broken in Transformers, which, yeahmus Prime
- 9:35Honestly, because you're at one thousand and seventy five point five nights, your
- 9:39twenty three wins, which is more than me. Yep, only two ties
- 9:43out of fifty eight appearances, your winding ratio being thirty nine points sixty six
- 9:48percent, so on the forty not much better better, not much better,
- 9:52I'll be honest, I know, just I'm not mo with the whole season
- 9:56one was yeah one v one v one. There's other people with equal stats,
- 10:01not as many appearances as at us, so that's okay. Sample size,
- 10:05right, yeah, absolutely, lot of large numbers the pair of you.
- 10:09Until our lovely cast members have more regular appearances. You two are of
- 10:13an island unto yourselves. You can't really compare your stats to anyone apart from
- 10:18each other. Honestly, we're the gold standard until someone gets up. Yeah,
- 10:22to our numbers. Absolutely, this is this is the bar you're shooting
- 10:24war. Absolutely, we are the bar. Yeah, and your points per
- 10:30average is about the same as well, eighteen point five four swinging around that
- 10:35up to nineteen. But it's like, let's stay closer to my score.
- 10:39Yeah, yeah, you're at twenty two. Man, you're great, But
- 10:43again one appearance such as small sample size, I'd say you you both being
- 10:48at like eighteen or there or thereabouts is like, oh, yeah, the
- 10:52average score is between fifteen and twenty somewhere. Yeah, and you're on the
- 10:56upper upper end of that. Yeah, we're a great representation. We're honestly
- 11:01not too far off from season two too, because from memory, I think
- 11:05it was around seventeen or eighteen was our points. So then you points creep
- 11:09that. Yeah, the points creep is officially one. Yeah. Again marginal
- 11:13sizes, so yeah, you know, it's a little harder for us to
- 11:15increase our scores. But on the note of Audrey and I, this is
- 11:20also Matt, this was your first season relinquishing the host role. Yes,
- 11:22this was both Audrey and I's first time relinquishing the captain role this season as
- 11:28well. I relinquished it in Buffy Yes, and task Master, and then
- 11:33Audrey and I both relinquished it in Gilmour Girls, which is our most recent
- 11:39Yes, gosh, I'm halfway through listening to that episode. We had more
- 11:43things to record. It's so much fun. Yeah, oh, the Gilmore
- 11:48Girls one. Yeah. Yeah, I was just about to say, like,
- 11:50did you feel good relinquishing that? And I mean you love the episode
- 11:54evidently, mm hmm. It was so much fun. With some solid number
- 12:00experienced players like regular cast members. On that episode, I was like,
- 12:03Wow, they're gonna go have a lot of fun. Listen to them having
- 12:09a lot of fun like a proud Mama Bird. I felt like Mama Bird
- 12:11too, Like the first time watched, listening to that Buffy was so fun.
- 12:16I refuse to be on any episode with Stevie uh to to make sure
- 12:22that Matt can continue the ruse. Yeah and so and so forth. Although
- 12:24the rule of three the joke is paid off now, so I think twenty
- 12:28twenty four, let's get you and Stevie on the same episode. I can't
- 12:31wait to just be on camera as a Kermit the Frog puppet. If you
- 12:37do a whole episode as puppet Jason. I love that the muppets did.
- 12:45Who did the Can we hire the people that did the puppets for community?
- 12:50Oh? Sure, you have to do the actual version of Jason the patron
- 12:56I love that all the phone Oh my goodness, so soft. Okay,
- 13:01now I do want puppets of each of us. I would love that.
- 13:05Patreon. That's where the Patreon budget's gonna go. Yeah, I think I
- 13:09could stick my hand up your asses. I love them even more than usual.
- 13:13Yeah, yeah, there's a lot of that talk in season three.
- 13:20Did you find that the horniness had increased in season three? Yeah? So
- 13:24again points creep hornier season four. Season four depends on a season Fornia season
- 13:31Fournier. Do you feel like, generally speaking, the world is hornier?
- 13:37Like we're currently going through one of those you know how, like sex goes
- 13:39in and out of fashion and in terms of like being in more in the
- 13:41mainstream and stuff. I feel like we're currently in that time where it's like,
- 13:45okay to make jokes addressing sex again and it's task Master's gotten hornier.
- 13:50I wonder about this. I wonder if we're hornier conversationally as a result of
- 13:56I do know that the younger generation are having less sex than ever. Yeah,
- 14:01that's that is true. So I wonder if conversationally more more sex.
- 14:09For sure, all the time too busy, But I wonder if it's a
- 14:16result of, like, on average, people are just like and so we'll
- 14:20talk about it. Yeah, I think so. Or maybe it's because it's
- 14:22disappeared from our films and TV shows compared to in the twenty ten, so
- 14:26now we feel like we have to make up for it. By making everything
- 14:28hornyou if you added more fan fiction based episodes, that's gonna happen. We're
- 14:35gonna play more fan fiction games in twenty twenty four. I can't say if
- 14:39it's gonna be hornier, but I can say the fan fiction will increase in
- 14:43twenty twenty four. That's a promise you got to keep. In terms of
- 14:45again, that's another exclusive exclusive getting I'm getting addicted to dropping these exclusives that
- 14:50things that I think of are just the top of my head, and then
- 14:52you're just gonna commit to them. And I'll make hot chocolate before every recording
- 14:58through may Oh okay, okay, but that would be so cute. Okay,
- 15:03I'm not committed to that now it sounds like too much. I'm going
- 15:05to commit to thinking about making hot chocolate like a little prayer before going to
- 15:13think about it. Well, the next story. I think this is a
- 15:18big story, Okay, at least for me, as our next people that
- 15:22we're going to talk to have mentioned I've been really excited about it now.
- 15:26Jen Gate Leaper's Legend. Oh legend, Legend got her first loss in this
- 15:33season, which was huge. We did not have a precedent for a champion.
- 15:37We made one up on the fly just to make her feel worse.
- 15:39Felt right, It was so monumentous. It was sorry. It didn't it
- 15:43didn't feel right to make her feel worse. It felt right to make the
- 15:46championship then, yeah, yeah, high stakes, right, because she had
- 15:50one hundred percent wind streak and I believe six, no five appearances. I
- 15:54believe last time it was it was some I'm gonna say it was something like
- 15:58that. Yeah, even though you've got the numbers, that is the stat
- 16:03leaper's guarantee, something like that, I have the numbers here somewhere correct.
- 16:08Actually, this is a good time for me to interject with a little sidebar.
- 16:12I love this and I hate this, but I love that I hate
- 16:17it in the sense that part of when I was formulating gate leapers was like,
- 16:22similar to the whose line is it anyway? Thing? Right? The
- 16:23game's made up and the points don't matter absolutely, and so like I was
- 16:26determined to make it like fake competitive. But I've managed to make it fake
- 16:32competitive to such a level that people are gen cares about the wind streak.
- 16:37There's now a lineal championship that will be defended whenever the champion is on you
- 16:42have made this wonderful spreadsheet of all of the stats and keeping the numbers.
- 16:47I guess the point is the points very much do matter. It seems once
- 16:51a year once yes, we have the embargo once a year. The points
- 16:56matter. Every other day of the year, they do not matter. I
- 17:00just I felt like I had to say that because I find it hilarious and
- 17:03infuriating. Yeah, this is my Christmas. Merry Christmas everyone. I feel
- 17:07especially bad as well because I was contributing factor to Jen's loss. I was
- 17:14on her team. Right during the Sailor Moon episode, we did not know
- 17:18anything about sailors. Still, though Popeye got it, that's a guy.
- 17:22Tintin wasn't even mentioned. I'm pretty sure in that bonus round. No,
- 17:26I don't think he was. That's about it. I don't think he's a
- 17:29sail Oh god, I think he just looks like one. Jesus. Even
- 17:33worse, it was like Captain Jack Sparrow, and it was okay. It
- 17:37was because I included pirates right as well, didn't I. That's a monster,
- 17:45isn't Oh no? Yeah? But I thought captain and of an airplane.
- 17:52Yeah, hey, he had to land it on water. That makes
- 17:55it a boat that makes a sailor. Yeah, this is the gately first
- 18:00guarantee of expertise. So Jen lost that. Jen last streak to Drew.
- 18:07Yes, Drew a cast made on this and he held it for a monumentous
- 18:11one round. Jen took him back immediately during the Gilmore Girls episode. True
- 18:17that, hey, looks six months between the recording. You can that's true.
- 18:18You can say he held onto it for six months. That's true.
- 18:22Andrew is a champion in our eyes for sure. Oh for so many reasons,
- 18:26Oh, for so many reasons. And to hold it at least once,
- 18:29is still holding it. I want to go over both their stats real
- 18:32quick. Yes, that's okay, let's see here. So Jen gonna mention
- 18:37again, she's still a gate leaper's legend one hundred and thirty three points with
- 18:41only seven appearances. Yeah, what does that make her average? So that
- 18:45makes her average nineteen? So if again, well for you, using Audrey
- 18:49and I as bars, she's above the bar a whole point, a whole
- 18:52point above the bar. She's got six out of her seven appearances as wins
- 18:56with an eighty five point seven percent ratio win. Wow, that is not
- 19:02one hundred percent, but it is the most impressive. The only other person
- 19:06on this list who would even be close to taking over gen stats is currently
- 19:11our friend Adam would ooh, he has one hundred and sixteen points out of
- 19:18five appearances. Wow, so creeping. He's got a huge He's got twenty
- 19:21three point two points per average. Wow. Yes, that is wild.
- 19:26That is wild. I must scold those games a little high, because again
- 19:30we're going off of whatever whims are on my mind that day. Yeah,
- 19:33which we're finding there is an average to it. Yes, but five appearances
- 19:38is a solid sample size. Five appearances, eighty percent win ratio. He's
- 19:42only five point seven one off from from gen. That's nothing. That's penot.
- 19:45I think what I'm hearing from this is now that Jen has the title
- 19:48back, I think we've got to get Jen and Adam on the same epide.
- 19:52If we were like, oh, I'm going to use a look,
- 19:56everyone knows I'm too obsessed with wrestling, so I'll use another term. If
- 19:59we were boxing from I was, yes, we'd want to get the two
- 20:00top stars to face off against each other. Yeah. Yeah. Could you
- 20:06imagine if you put Drew on Adam's team for whatever reason, It's like a
- 20:08rematch as well. That might be we need to save that for twenty five.
- 20:12We need to save twice five. Come on, long term storytelling.
- 20:15Okay, whoever wins between Jen and Adam. And then there's like a build
- 20:19up where Drew talks. I was gonna say Drew talks ship, but I
- 20:22just don't think he's just too kind. Yeah. I think I tried to
- 20:27make him option talk shit and Drew comes to the rescue. Oh this is
- 20:34amazing. I love this. It's getting a little scripty because there's some stats
- 20:38in here where I literally have to say where we can't make this up.
- 20:42We can't. Okay, Okay, So I like, I love those ideas.
- 20:45We're gonna shelve them. We're gonna keep them in behind the scenes,
- 20:48maybe not exclusive to set leapers. Yeah, that's that's it. There's some
- 20:52stats here, man, it is insane. Before we get to those other
- 20:56stats, so want to highlight Drew. He mentioned that maybe his that's what
- 21:00tank. I don't think they're as bad as he thinks. He's got one
- 21:03hundred and thirty two point five points out of six appearances. His wins are
- 21:07two out of the six, with one tie one tie okay, but his
- 21:11point per average is twenty two point zero eight. Again high. Well,
- 21:17I'm what I'm actually hearing now is that you captains are actually kind of bad.
- 21:22Please don't replace me. I've known. Don't eat sat pevers for that,
- 21:26all right, Gay, that's that's players perform perform higher. Even though
- 21:30Drew hasn't necessarily won as high a percent, just say Agen his points points
- 21:34the game. That just means the people he's competing against just that more elite,
- 21:38you know what I mean? Yeah? Really bring to or again he's
- 21:41he's also a high score because of the quick fire a round. He's huge.
- 21:47That's that's true. That's true. Yeah, famously huge on that one.
- 21:48Great pulp culture knowledge. Yeahred percent. Speaking of the captains not being
- 21:53great, I wrote this down. This is a selfish thing. I lost
- 21:56my first thing in a Marvel thing, which felt pretty bad to your sibling,
- 22:02Aiden. Yeah, guardians. It was so traumatic for me that I
- 22:04started reading comics again because of Aiden. Like Aida just started like fucking speeding
- 22:08out comic knowledge, and I was like, the fuck is this person?
- 22:12Who? Where are where? Where did this come from? I've known you
- 22:15for years. You were spend by gatekeeping. You were like, this wasn't
- 22:22caught no more about comics than Maze. Yeah, honestly, honestly, Aiden,
- 22:26like, go to your fucking place. People can like hybrow and love
- 22:33things. It's possible the same time. Yeah, both of these things can
- 22:37be true. Yeah, that's true. That's true. Aiden's a pretty good
- 22:40performer as well. They have seventy one points to their four appearances. Uh,
- 22:45fifty percent win ratio two of the four of those and seventeen point seventy
- 22:48five points for average, So pretty close to me and Audra there in terms.
- 22:53Solid next thing, another first for us. I don't know. This
- 22:57kind of sounds mean. Uh, ash got her first win. Nice congratulations,
- 23:03Ashwood. Here gotta find Ashes points. She's actually not too bad herself.
- 23:11Fifty seven points out of the three appearances, one win out of those
- 23:15three, nineteen points per average, so higher got her first win, but
- 23:19higher points than us per average episode. So solid. Great work, Ash,
- 23:25Absolutely, now here's a big one for us. I've talked about format
- 23:30changes. I think this is very interesting. It could lead into more season
- 23:34four stuff. But we had her first three v two match in of course,
- 23:41Yes, this was for Buffy. This was for Buffy exactly. We
- 23:44had the team of Audra, Stevie and Augie yes I believe, versus Caroline,
- 23:49Ruela and Aaron Yes, all those other names I mentioned from the Because
- 23:53Fuck You That's Why podcast? How is that? Hosting that ma, I
- 23:59mean that was great partly because Because Fuck You That's Why guys, the fy
- 24:04TW boys have such great chemistry and energy with each other that it all just
- 24:11it honestly felt no different to any other episode recording in that sense, in
- 24:15that it just flowed really well and it worked out in terms of creating like
- 24:21a fairly balanced game memory the knowledge of two real knowledgeable people versus two semi
- 24:29knowledgeable people and a passing knowledge person. Yeah. And with Caroline that was
- 24:33her first appearance. Got absolute joy to have one just as a person,
- 24:38two as a Buffy fan. So much fun to have her on the podcast,
- 24:44especially with that group of guys. It was so fun. Yeah,
- 24:47she was fantastic on the Nancy Drew epis. I'm glad to hear that it
- 24:51didn't feel that much different. Do you think maybe in season four we'll see
- 24:53that again or do you think it's too mismatch? So? As I said
- 24:57earlier in this recording, I like totally change one thing at a time,
- 25:00But if that was the one thing that was being changed, then it wasn't
- 25:03regularly that. Yeah. Sure, if that was an episode where I was
- 25:08hosting and we had regular players on as well, we could absolutely do three
- 25:11v two if it because it further cements the thing that I try and say,
- 25:15which is none of this matters. It's all made as a listener to
- 25:22the episode, because again I was in captain or present for the episode.
- 25:25Really fun. To balance five players with one host, six people total in
- 25:30a single podcast is kind of fucking insane. Yeah, and it felt good
- 25:36to listen. Yeah, oh thanks, it's yeah testament to everyone. Yeah,
- 25:40who's a part of it? Really and to the Keate Leaper's formula.
- 25:42I really loved it. So that was super fun, super interesting. It
- 25:45might not happen again, it might, Yeah, just interesting. Three v
- 25:48three let's exclusive. Eli, we're just gonna start saying we're gonna have a
- 25:56dog on the show. I need to start making a sound effect after so
- 26:03every time I drop one of those, which, by the way, great
- 26:04idea, We're gonna have a dog on the next episode. Exclusive The Westminster
- 26:11podcast of Gate Leapers. I think you're gonna want to use that pal for
- 26:17the next one. The most points in all of gate Leaper's history. Now
- 26:22we mentioned we broke thirty. The most points ever in gate Leaper's history belongs
- 26:26to me and Graham at ten thousand, twenty point five points. We're fucking
- 26:33smashing it, man, I fuck they have one thousand points. I'm at
- 26:34ten thousand. You know what I mean that that is the joke that has
- 26:38kind of screwed with stat Leapers, right. Yeah. In the Excel shirts
- 26:42sheet, I'm not even lying. There is a comment next to that one
- 26:47that says, technically this is tenenty twenty point five. Yes, I've wrote
- 26:49twenty point five. I mean trending. Yeah, it was too good of
- 26:55a joke to pass pass up stat Leapers. Yeah, yeah, is too
- 27:00get yea. But that is wrapping up all the new things, all the
- 27:04notable things that have happened this season that are brand new. So that's uh,
- 27:11that's what that is. Now. This section, this next section is
- 27:14what I'm calling the recurring bit so previous stats that we've talked about from last
- 27:18stat Leapers that I will continue to talk about. It's not over for the
- 27:22stats just yeah, I guess, okay, don't worry. Yeah, the
- 27:25first one I thought was really interesting. So, contrary to what Matt believes,
- 27:29every season that we do this Gate Leapers has had its third tie ever,
- 27:36meaning no, there's not one. Well, it's interesting that you say
- 27:40that. So each season has one tie, which is fun. Even more
- 27:45interesting is the first tie was me and Ben and Mario, Yes, sixteen
- 27:52points tie. Yeah. The second one was Avatar with me Matt ad or
- 27:57sorry me, Drew and Ben sixteen points Okay. This third season, it
- 28:04happened in Survivor me Odra Dan from the movie Seller and our friend Taylor Logan
- 28:11sixteen points time No. One highest season sixteen time. All right, we
- 28:19can't script this. I have a new angel number. I think that's what
- 28:27this means. This is in stantly Fer's man, this is cemented. This
- 28:30is okay, there's no way we can manufacture that. I thanks for not
- 28:34telling me this last year when it was just two that matched up. Yeah,
- 28:37now that it's three matching up with sixteen? Can we get in season
- 28:41four? How would you even? I don't even know how one would even
- 28:47orchestrate. Yeah. What I do know is there will be one tie next
- 28:51year. That feels like it. That's a patent. But I don't necessarily
- 28:53think we can hit sixteen again, right, But we've gotten the three.
- 28:56We've got. This is the victory. I'd get a ten tun on me,
- 29:00man, I get it. I listen. I've talked a lot about
- 29:03tattoos. I'll get a tattooed on me. I mean, I've got space
- 29:07on my skin. Considering the last thing you talked about getting tattooed was the
- 29:12word come in Elvish on you sixties. I think I'm in my Harry Styles
- 29:17phase. Man. Yeah, yeah, shave your head. I do that,
- 29:21you know I do. I love it. But yeah, that's that's
- 29:23really crazy. So this year we got our third executive produce on Patroon,
- 29:27which is crazy, very cool. Justin shout out, justin, dog bug
- 29:33shout out. It's always super nice seeing people support us at all, but
- 29:37at the executive producer level, you are why we exist. Yeah, genuinely
- 29:41keeping this afloat through helping us pay a Zoom subscription replace headphones when they broke.
- 29:48Crazy. Yeah, when people say like this is to keep the lights
- 29:52on, this is pretty true. It's pretty It's genuinely to keep the lights
- 29:55on so you'll support It means so much, honestly, honestly, thank you
- 29:57very much. The number really mass I think I got away with that,
- 30:03And thank you very much to Adam. Remember Adam, and that's why your
- 30:07stats are so good. You are a true competitor. We thought the peer
- 30:15the plus five buff handicap that you get every time. Absolutely, but yeah,
- 30:22that that's super awesome. Now. The biggest change I think that happened
- 30:26this season is we usually talk about the fandoms that we've had. Yes,
- 30:30this one was pretty impressive to me. So this year we've had seventeen new
- 30:36fantoms that we've jumped in. Its crazy, only three repeats of the entire
- 30:41series. Three WWE Guardians of the Galaxy, which follows under Marvel, Superman
- 30:47which falls under DC ye Zelda I did not put in because we never released
- 30:51a Nintendo based episode. We did Mario and Pokemon separately as entities. Individual
- 30:56makes sense, yep, exactly right. Yeah, so that's that's really interesting
- 31:00to me. No, I love that. I think we had more repeats
- 31:03in year two and two, and so a big thing for me was like,
- 31:07there are still so many media properties to cover we haven't touched it.
- 31:12Because sometimes there are things that have like a deep active fandom. Sometimes there
- 31:17are things that used to have that and now maybe it's just smaller groups,
- 31:22but also things that just hold a special memory in a pocket of time that
- 31:26don't have a huge fandom built around it. Yeah, So like a super
- 31:30engaged fandom, an active fandom would be like a Marvel, a WWE,
- 31:33a task Master something like that, where the hell are active guys. And
- 31:38then you've got like The Gilmore Girls is a great example of like an evergreen
- 31:44fandom, a fandom that it had its pocket of cultural relatives, but because
- 31:48of that and because it was on top for so long, it now has
- 31:51a loyal fan base that still love it. You are ready to get Survivors
- 31:56part of that for sure? Yes, absolutely rock and Yeah, and then
- 32:00you've got ones that are just hold a specific nostalgic place, like if we
- 32:04ever do I don't know, if we ever do a Jurassic Park thing or
- 32:07back to the future. Oh, I guess the Indiana Jones. Yeah,
- 32:12absolutely good variety of No, it's absolutely a good variety. It makes me
- 32:15even more excited for season four as well, because in season four We've had
- 32:17a lot of discussions about how do we expand what the definition of fandoms are
- 32:22because we've done a lot of media properties, We've done a lot of IPS
- 32:24franchises. But we started discussions leading up to season four on how do we
- 32:30expand this into a broader thing very soon after this episode releases. We've been
- 32:34talking about a PC gaming fandom, very broad on what that even means,
- 32:39but those are types of things where people are very invested in the same way.
- 32:44Yeah, and is great to jump in explore it. Yeah, definitely
- 32:49lots of areas to explore. It's for me, it's music and sport.
- 32:54Yes, at the two because I think if this is like a pop culture
- 32:59thing, right that permeate that have their moment in the mainstream. And so
- 33:04I feel like the two fandoms that we've not really got into a sport in
- 33:07music, So I'd love to in twenty twenty four have some kind of dance
- 33:12into the music episode. It's a little kick, yeah, the sports episode
- 33:15sport even like that's the other costplaying area. Yeah, absolutely, Honestly,
- 33:22if you try to tell me that costplaying is any different from buying a jersey,
- 33:25and yeah, it's not very same thing. There is no difference.
- 33:29There's two main cost playing spaces, nerd culture and sports face of sincerity as
- 33:37she said that, Yeah, it's like we're we're the same. Yeah,
- 33:43I'm super excited. Honestly, we don't do this very often. But if
- 33:45you have a fandom you'd like to suggest or an idea like, please get
- 33:50Yeah. Absolutely, we're at that point now where we've got a long list
- 33:52where we could we could probably sketch out the entirety of next year's episodes.
- 33:58Nose still not and out of fandoms, but we absolutely want to hear from
- 34:02you in that regard. Gates Leapers at gmail dot com. Send us a
- 34:07fandom, send us, send us a fandom you'd like to see us cover
- 34:09will get round to it eventually, that's my guarantee. Absolutely, yes,
- 34:14And we take so much joy knowing that we bring joy to other people.
- 34:19So if you're like, oh, but like what if they don't want to
- 34:21do send it to us. We want to bring you joy. And the
- 34:24more people who suggest it, the higher the low. Yes, yeah,
- 34:29is ultimately what it is. Oh, I'm sure someone suggested mine, suggest
- 34:32it too, Then we know more people are interested exactly what you do is
- 34:37you're you leave a five star review, you leave a comment or whatever,
- 34:40put it in your five star review. Please do this. Yeah, you
- 34:44make another account, you leave another five you put it again. All right,
- 34:47this is how the internet works. Yep, all right, get to
- 34:51work bees. The first part, the first part about this recurring bit here
- 34:58in Gatly present a new season speaking of bees. Okay, I've got to
- 35:02leave that in now. Yeah. What they what they say in digital marketing
- 35:07one O one is that you don't refer to your audience as diligent worker bees.
- 35:10They're frogs. Remember their leap the leap frogs. Hey, and maybe
- 35:14some merch this year will reflect the frog aspect it. Maybe some new artwork
- 35:20will reflect reflect reflect the frog aspect. Yes, absolutely, because the more
- 35:25people we meet, I think, the better and bigger Gate Leapers get.
- 35:30That's that is true, the newer. The other recurring bit that we have
- 35:34is we've talked about new fandoms we've heard this season. This season we've had
- 35:37thirteen new guests, which is pretty insane. Yeah, I don't think the
- 35:43growth is as big as season two. Season two, we met a lot
- 35:45of new people. I feel like half of those numbers are friends that we
- 35:49or worst, and they're coming into your siblings always and close family members and
- 35:54incredible friends. And it's hard to ask strangers on the internet to spend two
- 35:59hours with you playing. I'll tell you that it is. It is you
- 36:01do that. It's great because we've met a lot of new people. We
- 36:05have, like, honestly, a lot of new people, a lot of
- 36:07new people, and I'm going to get more into that here in a bit
- 36:09on how the player space has changed in Kate Leepers. But honestly, one
- 36:15of my favorite things about this season is we've met so many new people.
- 36:17A lot of these people that we've brought on I've like instantly connected with.
- 36:22Yeah, pretty crazy, I think because a lot of the new people this
- 36:28season are like friends of other friends we've made through podcasting, and so there
- 36:32is immediately that connection of we love doing this in the same in a similar
- 36:37way that you have connected to them loving doing podcasting. So it is all
- 36:42of us coming together. Yeah, it's super cool. It's super cool.
- 36:46Very rarely do I talk to people outside of this or in general. People
- 36:52scare me, Uh, that's that's such a lie, Like you know me
- 36:55in person, like I will talk to random strangers, but actually talking to
- 37:00to the point where I care about them, that's hard. That's the stake.
- 37:04I can yea once there's stakes. Yeah, but I've I've talked to
- 37:07some lovely people and this is one of my favorite seasons ever for guests,
- 37:10really and truly. But to segue into the next part, our guests have
- 37:16changed a bit to where some of our players that we had have upgraded in
- 37:22a sense from guests to cast member. Yes, so I'm gonna we've We've
- 37:28listed off some of the cast members stats already. I'm gonna list off the
- 37:30other stats. But I mean, Matt Roger, do you want to talk
- 37:32more about the expanding cast? What does being a cast member mean and how
- 37:37does how that might change the landscape of Kate Leapers onto season four? Yeah?
- 37:40Absolutely, you might have heard it in an earlier episode. Earlier this
- 37:44year, we get a casting call out to join our little regular group of
- 37:47players to help make this entertaining pub quiz that we we do this this entertainment
- 37:54spa trivia night and it felt like the right time because of varying factors,
- 38:01one of them being Jason's food truck at studio munchy on Instagram getting off the
- 38:07ground, just needing to be like, yeah, let's get a let's get
- 38:12a group together so that this is less stressful to organize where we need to
- 38:15make sure that the same three people are free every couple of weeks. Yeah,
- 38:22And I think it was a great opportunity because last season, like this
- 38:25season, we had thirteen new guests. I think the season before we had
- 38:30like thirty some guests like newl But I think one of the really fun things
- 38:36this year has been like deepening some of those friendships with people that we met
- 38:40in previous seasons. Yeah, And so being able to do that and have
- 38:44recurring guests with the friendships that we've been building through this great space. Yeah,
- 38:50and that's like the sweet part of it that I absolutely echo, like
- 38:54sincerely in terms of the sentiment. But if we want to see how the
- 38:58sausage is really made, we're doing this because we all become better friends,
- 39:01we develop better chemistry, a more entertaining product is produced for you, the
- 39:07listener. Everybody wins. Yeah. That probably is extremely factored to why we
- 39:12haven't had as many new guests is because we liked the old guests so much.
- 39:15We just keep having them on and again. For something like this,
- 39:20like the format of a panel show, the idea of like a regular comedy
- 39:23group that gets together to make themselves and as a result of that other people
- 39:30laugh, that deserves to be shared between more than three people. I feel
- 39:35that's something that should be more like a group of I don't know, twelve
- 39:38but get together regularly and who can perform and experience this thing together. Yeah,
- 39:44it felt like the right time. Yeah, for many reasons. Absolutely
- 39:47for sure to make this an ensemble. So yeah, you're gonna if you're
- 39:52listening to this, you're gonna see some more of your favorite people. And
- 39:55that's great. I love that. I love that. And again, as
- 39:58someone who's relinquishes Captain C, I think the format works without me, not
- 40:02to say anything bad about you, works without you. It just works,
- 40:06just works works without either of us. Yeah. Yeah, and I'm super
- 40:08excited bout that does it? Would it work without me? Now? No?
- 40:14A little bit, just checking Jason has hosted an episode, I'm gonna
- 40:19it doesn't work. Nope, it's a pretty fun listen. It's not coherent,
- 40:27and those those are different things. Those are different things. But yeah,
- 40:31I mean, speaking of our cast members. We've already talked about a
- 40:34couple of them here, Jen Drew, I've got here. Next on the
- 40:37list, at least in order of appearance, we've got Chris. Let's see
- 40:42here his stats. Chris Reagan, who you might have all eight whole appearances,
- 40:45the next amount of appearances next to me and audre So he's he's creeping
- 40:51up there. One hundred and forty points three wins to his name, seventeen
- 40:53point five point average. There. See, look, Chris is what you
- 40:58call your classic. Gately play it, Chris. He's butting a what three
- 41:02out of eight wins? That's pretty pretty average, right, Like you win
- 41:06some, you lose some. Yeah, you come in thirty seven point five.
- 41:08Yeah, you bat an average score. Show up, you make a
- 41:10bunch of jokes, you have a good time. Yeah, this is this
- 41:14is quintessential gate lead. It is it is again. The points don't matter.
- 41:19I'm just saying some stuff I've compiled. Oh I'm putting narrative on the
- 41:23Yeah, yeah, absolutely. The next one, Ben, I want to
- 41:25hear your spin on this. Ben Robinson one hundred and thirty three points one
- 41:30win out of seven appearances. Two ties, okay, two ties. There's
- 41:35still only one, but both sixteen pointers the ties. That's true. That's
- 41:39true, and that's good because his average points per game nineteen, average win
- 41:45fourteen point nine. See. Ben is your different kind of Leapers player one.
- 41:52Okay, there are three types of classic bayle a fourth that's wild card,
- 42:00and a fifth that only the government of Sweden knows it. So the
- 42:05second, which is what Ben is as a player, is I don't care.
- 42:09I'm just yeah, I have fun. That's true. Whatever happens happens,
- 42:13that's true. Ben is a great I don't know what you call it,
- 42:17this in comedy or whatever. He's got the replies. Man, he's
- 42:22a funny fucking guy. Love him very quick. Yeah. John another cast
- 42:28member. Yes, Ben's partner in Geeksploration and on the Space Oddity's comic here.
- 42:32Relatively new to season three. He's got three appearances to wins sixty one
- 42:38points with a twenty point three to three point average. Low on the appearance
- 42:44level. I just want to note that could compared to Ben. I think
- 42:47that will change throughout throughout season four. I think John will have more appearances.
- 42:52Yeah. John has been a great addition. He is very similar style
- 42:55of Gateleaper's player too. No, he's halfway between a hype one and type
- 43:01type right, the six type type and I want a Pokemon style rock paper
- 43:06scissors. Which type beats which? Okay? Which is strong or weak against?
- 43:09Which type? John is a psychic type? Yeah? You know what?
- 43:14Yes, oh yes, I'll go with that. He's the midpoint between
- 43:17a He's a type one wing three. Yes, if that makes sense to
- 43:22any of my twenty tens personality test yes a right, everyone, this is
- 43:30making a nightmare for Steateley for season four. I gotta get their personality types.
- 43:34And there's down next. Look, look you're presenting the numbers. I'm
- 43:37just giving them a nonsensical narrow I appreciate that. Uh. And then we
- 43:43got Aaron from the because fuck you. That's why brand new player really spearheading
- 43:49this well. Background for those who haven't listened to Aaron's pod, he also
- 43:53hosts a panel show type of podcast in the British style. Yeah, so
- 44:00really, this whole format really latches on. So when we made the call
- 44:02for additional cast members, I think he just leapt onto. He was like,
- 44:06please, yes, more. Yeah, I've I've loved everyone so happy
- 44:12we've met this year. I've loved everyone we've met this year. Yeah,
- 44:15but meeting Aaron has been fantastic in terms of having a fellow games master,
- 44:19Yeah, a like minded ally. In terms of just being able to yeah,
- 44:22I'll say this word, just being able to comfort each other, in
- 44:24terms of we're doing the we're doing an okay thing by being like, oh,
- 44:29yeah, we've got all we're gathering friends together to play some games.
- 44:31We're gathering people we like to play some silly games. Everyone will have fun
- 44:35and then life will mean something. Right, So yeah, we've got that.
- 44:42And it helps the shipping power points. You got to save games Master
- 44:47games Master for twenty twenty six. That's oh yeah, that's adorable. Yeah,
- 44:52it's been. It's been a great connection to make a great a great
- 44:57friendship to have. And yeah, also helps that he really understands panel shows
- 45:01too. Again, having an ally and that is fantastic. A self proclaimed
- 45:07angliphile, which it's make you feel fetish just a little bit. I mean,
- 45:15the ship just gets stronger and stronger. The other one I have on
- 45:20here is Chris and Drew. Okay, good, yes, segment, lots
- 45:27of charts, lots of float, the shipping forecast, just a calm,
- 45:37robotic woman voice and this week's ship. This week's ship is Chris and Drew.
- 45:47This ship began, okay cool. So that was all the factoids,
- 45:54all these stats that I had. Honestly, I wanted to take a moment
- 46:00because this was also something that we did in stat Leeper's I love the numbers.
- 46:02We love looking at the cold, hard facts. Oh yeah. Yeah.
- 46:07But also what I love about doing a season wrap up is let's do
- 46:12some highlights game. Yeah, yeah, let's talk about it all right,
- 46:16big season for us, lots of memories. I'm gonna ask a couple of
- 46:20questions and if you could just give me your inside and we just talk a
- 46:22bit about some of our favorite moments, such as like, do you have
- 46:28I'm gonna start with Matt on this one. Okay, do you have a
- 46:31favorite episode? You think? Oh, this is tough. It's like picking
- 46:37between all twenty of my children, I know. And there's so many good
- 46:40ones. There's so many good ones, whether it's a favorite guest or a
- 46:44favorite format, just how the Yeah. I had a lot of fun this
- 46:47year. So thank you everyone for playing games and hanging out. I think,
- 46:54oh man, this is really hard obviously, like recently the task Master
- 46:58episode, I've got to say that individual round. Yeah, but because that
- 47:01was very much from the mind of Alex Horn, it doesn't feel as like
- 47:06you as Yeah, it doesn't feel as me, So I don't feel like
- 47:08I can say it as much. My face did hurt from smiling. I
- 47:13mean, yeah, it was so that was it was so much fun.
- 47:15It was joyous. It's as joyous as I want every Round two of gate
- 47:20Leapers to be soon to be Round three next year exclusive. But I'm actually
- 47:31gonna say as a quintessential gate Leapers episode in terms of even making me laugh
- 47:38and taking it in directions that I didn't expect it to be taken. I'm
- 47:42gonuld say the Indiana Jones episode because it's just classic fandom. Everyone knows the
- 47:47in jokes here because there's only three films and everyone's seen them. Everyone's passionate
- 47:52about it because they've got a different memory of it from a different point in
- 47:55life. Always love recording with Ben and John. That chemistry is excellent,
- 48:01and yeah, that fan fiction round is ultimately what it comes down to.
- 48:07Yeah, you guys laughing Some of the random stuff that is on the internet
- 48:12that is very popular on the internet. Yeah, is ridiculous. Is so
- 48:16good. So I'm gonna say that one, even though it broke me during
- 48:20that fan fiction, I just I just forgot that. Yeah. I literally
- 48:22went, everyone stopped what you're doing? I need to talk about this.
- 48:28Yeah. That was amazing, that's true. Yeah, that's that's it.
- 48:30That's awesome. Man. I love that episode. Audre. Do you have
- 48:32a favorite episode? I think there's a recency bias on it, but I
- 48:39loved the Nancy Drew episode. Oh yeah, just because it's one of those
- 48:45things that when we started this, I was like, oh, what are
- 48:47the things I like? And it was one of the things that I had
- 48:50in mind, but I was like, that is not big enough to be
- 48:58an episode. I'm I'm just gonna put that in the back of my mind.
- 49:01I'm just gonna toss that away. So that was really fun. But
- 49:06also things like Sailor Moon, where I hadn't previously been into it, but
- 49:09knowing that we were going to do that episode could get into it. Mm
- 49:15hmm. So things that had been with me for a long time and then
- 49:19brought to me now. Yeah, yeah, no, that was all great.
- 49:24Yeah, yeah, yeah, I Sailor Moon Nancy Drew. I had
- 49:28a lot of fun being the Dunce on that one. That was really really
- 49:30great. Honestly, Yeah, my favorite is probably gonna be well everyone said
- 49:35too, so I'll say too. I mean, I think WWE gets a
- 49:43gets an honorable mention for me just because it's something we've done before. But
- 49:46when I first became friends with you guys, absolutely clueless would have been playing
- 49:52the complete Dunce. I'm getting used to it more. I'm getting used to
- 49:55the tropes, more names, some names, Yeah, yeah, exactly,
- 50:00and being clueless it was still it was classic gate Leapers where the two experts
- 50:07Graham and Adam, who were on there, ye didn't know everything about it,
- 50:12but at the same time we're like new enough where we can make fun
- 50:14of it. Yeah. And then also I liked playing the Dunce during the
- 50:19what are they called shout out? Do a special, do a promo,
- 50:22promo, do a promo? Got it? Can't make this stuff up.
- 50:27I'm don't know, but my favorite for sure has got to be the Parks
- 50:31and rec episode. It was chaotic. It was just me and our friends,
- 50:38just all of us just making in references. Probably awful to listen to
- 50:43our most in reference because we're trying and avoid that of just like quoting the
- 50:47thing, but we did it so much said that it became the bit,
- 50:52so it was it was fun. I just love just laughing for like two
- 50:55hours but nothing. Oh yeah, yeah that's gate Leapers, that's Kate Leepers,
- 51:00buddy, that's gate Leapers. And now this is this is even more
- 51:02micro of me, So I truly apologize. It's only because I want to
- 51:06talk about a specific moment. But do you have a favorite moment from this
- 51:09season? Okay, favorite moments? Yeah, it's it's hard to compete with
- 51:15Yeah, so many laughs, Yeah, so many things happening. Yeah,
- 51:20there's a there's a lot of big moments. Would you like me to start
- 51:23and then you can think about it? Yeah, I think I've talked about
- 51:29it that question, because you clearly have the I think. I know.
- 51:32I just want to talk about this so much because I have to listen back
- 51:36to the episodes for stat Leapers, and I forget a lot of things.
- 51:38But one of my favorite moments was actually in the Parks and rac episode.
- 51:42That's not I'm sorry I didn't do that, but on purpose, but in
- 51:44the Parks and rac episode. Your quick Fire round is Porks and Recreation.
- 51:49Ye Odra is very bad in the beginning at buzzing in. She buzzes in
- 51:54out of such some kind of question and goes dumbbo and then Matt they're all
- 52:00supposed to be picked. They're all supposed to be pigs. That's right,
- 52:01Yeah, pop culture pigs, that's what it is. And Matt, her
- 52:05husband goes, m is Dumbo a pig. The closest thing I've ever heard.
- 52:12I'm not going I don't think you're right at all, honey, Like
- 52:15I cannot support you on this, and I probably say, yep, no,
- 52:20you're just yeah, you you you do an uproars laughter because you're like,
- 52:23quit, I don't know, I don't I don't want to play this
- 52:25anymore. Oh yes, that was one of the moments my brain went to
- 52:30as well. I even got to do that recently with Chris with the Guilds
- 52:36episode what did you do? Well? He says, uh, he can't
- 52:39remember the name of the character from this thing. Oh, so he goes,
- 52:45oh, yeah, the daughter from Leelo and Stitch. Yeah, like
- 52:51the daughter from Leelo and Stitch. I think. Chris goes I've never watched.
- 53:00I don't think you need to, Chris. I don't think that's a
- 53:02necessary thing. Yeah, that's amazing. We have to get Chris to watch
- 53:08Leilo and Stitch. That's problem. That's a that's a task for Jenny.
- 53:16Do you have a favorite moment? I honestly think that I honestly think that
- 53:21my favorite moment is recovering from calling Dumbo O by the fact the fact that
- 53:27I didn't actually just leave. I didn't cry, I didn't leave the podcast.
- 53:35Your favorite moment is personal growth? Yeah, I didn't even cry after
- 53:38the podcast. We're gonna have a lot of that here in a second.
- 53:40Oh no, another another moment in isolation is again during the task Master episode
- 53:49and hand his face and saying hemorrhoids repeatedly while trying to name things. And
- 53:55I was going to mention that as an honorable mention. I wasn't there physically
- 53:59or watched it. I'm not a Patren. You were there emotionally, spiritually,
- 54:02had videos on YouTube. Oh yeah, that's true. That yeah,
- 54:07But the best part about that as a listener is even though it's ninety percent
- 54:14visual, it makes sense from an auditory standpoint. Yes, I think it's
- 54:16part commentary, part just the utter chaos from like you can hear people just
- 54:22going like, oh my god, what is happening to my life? And
- 54:24there yees, yeah, it just works. And that's like, honestly,
- 54:30I might you can, you can have the pig, you can, I'll
- 54:32keep it. I'll keep the pig. Yeah. Yeah, that's because that's
- 54:36a great moment, just from like, this show works, and this show
- 54:39is coherent and it it's fun. Yes, even in the chaos. Just
- 54:45make me think of more moments. But we should definitely play most games the
- 54:49audio base, but the speed running one where they have to say, you
- 54:53guys have to get to the same answer at the same time yes by like
- 54:58slowly working from yes. God, Adam and I were so bad at that.
- 55:07Yes. Gosh. Another thing that I had forgotten Nissan Skyline. Oh
- 55:13yeah, oh my goodness. The Fast and Furious episode. I think every
- 55:22episode we make is amazing. Think so I really do generinely believe that as
- 55:29well, even though I laughed, it's really great. But I also put
- 55:32that not because I had a specific moment, because I really want to highlight
- 55:36something this season that is amazing, uh, and that is in this season.
- 55:40Something new, well we did last stat Leapers is we highlighted the Journey
- 55:46to Hell game round because it was something that was recurring, something I could
- 55:51track, and there's some interesting little bits from it, which now it's exclusively
- 55:54behind the Patreon if you if you Journey into Hell Patreon dot com forward slash
- 56:02Gates Leapers. Absolutely we need some more executive producers. And something that's really
- 56:08great is we've replaced that with the quick fire around, which I love.
- 56:12It's really great. It really highlights just Yeah, it's sand, it's the
- 56:15it's the constant, right, we always we always play it. And to
- 56:20make it fair to our players who have to phone in uh and and and
- 56:24be on Skype and so on and so forth. Yeah, buzzer is the
- 56:28buzzer of your team name. Yes, we give a delay and so on
- 56:31and so forth. And Odra has some issues with that. Yeah, I
- 56:37just for all you like competitor, for all you computer nerds out there.
- 56:43I don't have enough RAM to operate modern existence and also do questions quickly.
- 56:52Yeah, it is a lot at once. It's it's remembering your team name,
- 56:55it's saying the correct answer, and then there's always the rule of three
- 57:00gay leapers twist of something. On top of that, it's also the confidence
- 57:04that I am correct on top of it, Yeah, because I'll know it
- 57:08and then I'll be like, but do I. Well, what I will
- 57:12say is a lot of our other wonderful players clearly don't mind being wrong.
- 57:17That is based on the points average here. That is evident. I have
- 57:22never experienced that in my life. Well, you're gonna really express a smash
- 57:30cut all ones reverberated back at you. It's funny. No promises to not
- 57:37cry, but also please do I just got spat out of the multiverse and
- 57:45I'm looking for a place to boy I think, I think, yeah,
- 57:50yeah, Spider Pig. I'm not gonna give it to the amazing Spider Pig.
- 57:58It's her Ham, Yes, Spider Ham or Pizza Simpsons. Sorry,
- 58:10two different pigs, yes, similar ability. Yeah, I'm requesting a runway
- 58:19for personal reasons because sometimes pigs can fly. Dammit? What is that from
- 58:24douche Yes, Soldra DUMBOO a Dumbo pig? Oh no, what from toy
- 58:38story? It's not I'm so sorry. Any idea for this engage? I
- 58:47have no idea. I'm going to take a stab yes, uh, Russo
- 58:53it is my god, I'm so sorry. I really do have a meeting
- 58:59that I have to get to, like five minutes ago. I am an
- 59:04American supermarket chain that operates throughout the South. That's what you did, soldraked
- 59:20to buzz In. This is my Achilles. He look up in the sky.
- 59:32Is it a time traveler? Is he in a police box over pants?
- 59:37Yes, Soldra, I have no clue what planet he's from. I
- 59:44do, but I couldn't remember the name of my team. So you named
- 59:52us Soldier Shot and then old though gallifreeite Gal. Yes, yeah, uh
- 1:00:01no, I've got a package here for apartments nineteen oh one Elliots Bay Towers,
- 1:00:09Seattle, Washington where Wolf Yes, it's fat, Yes, Sodre,
- 1:00:16you want to go there? I want to go to there, Fraser it
- 1:00:20is Frasier, yes, Seattle. Yeah, you'll find me in history but
- 1:00:30also played by Rhys Darby and what's affectionately known as the Gay Pirate Show.
- 1:00:35I don't know who he played, Bunny, yes, Odra, Yeah,
- 1:00:42yes, Steed Bonnet it is the Bonnet Yeah, gentleman Pirate. I don't
- 1:00:49know from that show, Yeah, Steve Steed, Steed Bonnet yeah, I'm
- 1:00:55an Arabic sailor from the fourteenth century, but most of the West and seafaring
- 1:01:00story off. Yes, Odra heist do main sales. It's sinbad it is,
- 1:01:07I know, sailors fucking killing it. Yeah. Yeah, I'd be
- 1:01:15the original cabin boy right out of the pages of a Robert Lewis Stephenson novel.
- 1:01:22Who the fuck is that? I know the name of the author,
- 1:01:27cabin Boy, the original cabin Boy. Nothing, No, Bunny Smeeth.
- 1:01:36I love the idea that he's the original cabin boy. Yeah. No,
- 1:01:39we'll move on to the next one. The answer is Jim Hawkins. Jim
- 1:01:44Hawkins, here's your next question. Yeah, I'd be the original space cabin
- 1:01:52boy right off the screen of an early two thousand's Disney movie Bunny. Yes,
- 1:01:57Ore, ohy, Jim Mark. Yeah, it's also Jim Hawkins.
- 1:02:06Oh my god. Oh yeah, this this project, man, it was
- 1:02:09a blessing to work with the late great Patrick Swayze and under Yes, Aaron,
- 1:02:15you best believe it's point Break. Yes it is Point Break. Know
- 1:02:21any of these movies and that's fine. A live process, okay, coming
- 1:02:30next summer. The family gets animated as they try to win the prestigious Dina
- 1:02:36Coo for striggle to remember your own name was fantastic Lightning McQueen. Yep,
- 1:02:52I'll take that. It is Lightning mcg So if I said I had a
- 1:03:00guest, Mary Pippin, I was hoping that this would be the practice round.
- 1:03:05This was coming up. I am tree Beard exactly that, so it
- 1:03:09would be team name to buzz in and then say I am and in this
- 1:03:15case tree Beard, gotcha. Okay, we will say Audrey, you said
- 1:03:20the wrong team name when you buzzed in. Just then, did you say
- 1:03:22I'm appreciate you. I'm pretty sure you said Huggers. This is my eternal
- 1:03:29ban. I just don't know how Odin rattas Yeah, hugs Yes, Old
- 1:03:38I am Idris sil yes or the world tree. That's good, Miko Nakoma
- 1:03:45pokahontis great Hogs. You said our name, Yeah you did, you did,
- 1:03:53so I've got it. I gotta go with Jason. And we said
- 1:04:00it at the same time, and I was like, what is going on?
- 1:04:04I am grandmother Tree I believe is her name. I'll give you it,
- 1:04:09grand I'll give you it. You said, grandmother. Okay, I
- 1:04:13don't know what my team name is. And I wasn't allowed to watch Pocahontas
- 1:04:15growing up, but I know it's grandmother will. Let's not explore that one.
- 1:04:20Okay, Ellen, deal is sealed to hogs. Yeah, Soldra,
- 1:04:30I am the White Tree of Gondor. I am the White Tree of Gondor.
- 1:04:33Yes, sorry, sorry to hog over your you also hogs flying around
- 1:04:42all over the place. I couldn't remember if it had a name, net
- 1:04:46Bran John, I keep buzzing your name. I have thought of like a
- 1:04:57pop culture drink and I can't. I was like, no, this one
- 1:05:00might come up. What's the name, what's the name? What's the name?
- 1:05:02And I cannot think of it. If it comes up, I'm gonna
- 1:05:04be so mad. Okay, well, let's myself not at you already stressing
- 1:05:11out a drink invented by the ex president of the galaxy. I'll be sure
- 1:05:16to have my towel handy to mop up any mess. Fucking hell sucks.
- 1:05:23Not your team name, but sorry, this is the one that I can't
- 1:05:27remember the name of. But I'm oh fuck. Pan Galactic gargle blast Yum
- 1:05:35yum is fine by me. Is a pangalactic gargle what what is that?
- 1:05:41Even from Taker's guy like gargle Blaster is all I can remember, and I
- 1:05:48was like glitching out the drink of choice for the Nevada area. Place a
- 1:05:55bet on this lucky beverage and build masks do on it. Yeah, I
- 1:06:00think, Yeah, I buzzed in and then A panicked, You got it?
- 1:06:06Nuca cola, Yum, it's not cola. That's why I panicked,
- 1:06:12because I buzzed okay, and he's got it. Then yes, sunset saspilla,
- 1:06:19Yes it is sunset yum yum. Indeed, and that's the buzz up.
- 1:06:26Who damn hoover damn indeed that is should we come back and laughing.
- 1:06:35That's just for the listeners, And I hope you enjoyed those listeners because that's
- 1:06:41all authentic. Yeah, we we don't script Aldra. If you did,
- 1:06:47I wouldn't remember something. Some feedback I get from like this from people I
- 1:06:53show this podcast to and stuff like that is a lot of the women I
- 1:06:58show it to say they like you, and some women have noted it is
- 1:07:01specifically that you are vulnerable, which I don't know what that means relatable.
- 1:07:08It's like something I would say that does bring me joy. Thank you.
- 1:07:14I think they can hear like, oh she didn't cry, good for her.
- 1:07:18Yeah she's relatable. Yeah, she's relatable to them. I too,
- 1:07:21am just a woman trying my best. I don't think I've ever told you
- 1:07:27that before. That is true. When you said some women in your life
- 1:07:31is saying that is and they have the exact same piece of feedback, like
- 1:07:35multiple women, multiple women. Yeah, not every women, not every woman.
- 1:07:39Multiple women have said I really like Audra. They gloss over me the
- 1:07:43person they're talking, and they go, I really like Audra and I think
- 1:07:45she's Yeah, she's really vulnerable. These are the two phrases. Soft's s
- 1:07:54a w F T soft, and I relate to that. That has overall
- 1:08:00been stat leapers. I'm gonna say a couple more things just to close out
- 1:08:03this year's stat leepers. It's been a great season. It's been a waterfole
- 1:08:06season. Exclusive, it's been a great SCE. We liked it. I
- 1:08:13hope you do too. So one of the things about this is stat leapers
- 1:08:18will always happen as long as there is a gate leepers. I will keep
- 1:08:21on top of that. It's very fun for me to compile this that's my
- 1:08:24yearly project, and I have a lot of fun. You guys may or
- 1:08:29may not have noticed if you did not listen to another episode that we have
- 1:08:31out, which is just the show notes. I have been on here less.
- 1:08:34I've been on here less before, but I'm gonna continue to be on
- 1:08:38here less. My stats will reflect that you have full stats. I'll see
- 1:08:45if Chris can overtake my fifty appearances. No one's doing it this year,
- 1:08:49maybe by yes seven maybe honestly. Honestly, but the reason for that being
- 1:08:55is that I'm running my own business. And something I've noticed about this season,
- 1:09:00either factoid or trend or whatever you want to call that, is a
- 1:09:02lot of our guests have had their own thing that you can patron yes,
- 1:09:06which is very very cool. And because I'm running my own business and I
- 1:09:11think that's brave of me. Oh did not like saying that? Well,
- 1:09:13we can say it. I can say oh, thank you, we can
- 1:09:15say it, thank you, thank you. I want to also highlight their
- 1:09:17stuff because I think it's very cool and it's everyone has their own podcast.
- 1:09:23We know that that's why they're guests. But I'll start here. One of
- 1:09:26the big ones, the longest running ones that we have here is Ben and
- 1:09:30John. Our cast members have their own comic book, which I think is
- 1:09:32absolutely insane. It's incredible, it's so cool. I'm so jealous. I
- 1:09:36want to live vicariously through them. It's called Space Audities. You can read
- 1:09:41that on Comixology, Drive through Comics, or if you just look up their
- 1:09:44website, Space auditiescomic dot com. You can buy it from there physically or
- 1:09:48digitally. And I'm gonna go ahead and say I'll put all these links that
- 1:09:51Jason's about to say in the description. Yes please, yes, absolutely.
- 1:09:56Our cast member Drew, he has his own pins, which are super cute.
- 1:09:59Yes, they're like the newest. And my favorite ones are the Pokemon
- 1:10:02eggs Let's go. They're about the house. Oh my my favorite is the
- 1:10:06shiny Tokope one. You can find those on Etsy at boxast Pins. Aaron
- 1:10:13of b fy t W has a debut novel which is insane. At a
- 1:10:17time of recording this, I'm like three quarters of the way through it.
- 1:10:20Yeah, it's really good. Oh wow, it's so good. That's amazing.
- 1:10:25I wish I could read so I would read it. You can read
- 1:10:28this? Do you practice my audiobook? Narration. I'm not going to commit
- 1:10:32to that every night, read me about five cents per word, Aaron.
- 1:10:38If you that novel is called Thane. You can find out Amazon, Barnes,
- 1:10:44and Noble, everywhere you find books, specifically if you get the e
- 1:10:46book on smash Words. Apparently Erin gets the biggest cut there. Yeah.
- 1:10:50I don't know, I reckon that's the link I'll put in the notes.
- 1:10:54Yes, absolutely, absolutely so. We've got Aiden and l who have both
- 1:10:59been on the pop l Moore this year I think. But anyways, they
- 1:11:02are both part of the Rickety Fidgets. Yeah, the part of rickety Fidgets.
- 1:11:06They're a quea accessible theats agree Ah, very cool, very cool.
- 1:11:10Well, you can follow them on at rickety Fidgets on Instagram, Facebook,
- 1:11:14and TikTok. Nice. Yeah. Nile, again, this is a very
- 1:11:17long list. It's insane. It's the only reason I put it in here.
- 1:11:20Nile from Fuck Buddies podcasts and Our Fast and Furious episode has a story
- 1:11:26titled the Princess Network in the anthology book dragon Esque, which you can get
- 1:11:30also get on Amazon. Cool just yeh dragon Esque and listen to Nyl and
- 1:11:33Dan's Fuck Buddies as well. That's true. Yes, Dating advice podcast,
- 1:11:38Yeah, yeah, it's so good. And then lastly, Rick g from
- 1:11:43our Transformers episode. He's a very accomplished horror comedy author. He has like
- 1:11:47so many books. Yes, you can find all of them on his website,
- 1:11:51Rickqualtieri dot com. And finally, well you can't probably patron my business.
- 1:11:59It's again at Studio. She had Instagram and also Facebook wherever you want.
- 1:12:01If you could just give that a follow, that's really fast and free
- 1:12:04and it helps me Aton I appreciate very much. Yeah, we live in
- 1:12:08a digital world. Part of marketing is just having high social media numbers,
- 1:12:11so the local businessmen go, oh yeah, this person's legit. So you
- 1:12:15could you could help Jason out massively naturally, just buy at Studio, munchy
- 1:12:18on Instagram, hitting follow, and then never thinking about it again. Honestly,
- 1:12:23please do while you're at it, check out Jen's half double docent.
- 1:12:29That's true. Yes, on Instagram, Yes, she posts, she does
- 1:12:32a lot of pattern testing. She's so good with fiber arts and you can
- 1:12:36just find everything that she's making. It's great. Yeah, and don't follow
- 1:12:40Chris on Instagram. He doesn't want to be found good luck. Well,
- 1:12:45guys, that's that's stat Leapers amazing. Thank you. That's another whole season.
