Transcript
- 0:02Welcome to Bible chat, where we have devotional conversations
- 0:06rooted in scripture and relevant for today, April 16th.
- 0:12Choosing the right path Every day is filled with choices, and
- 0:15some of them feel small enough to ignore but little.
- 0:18Choices shape direction, and direction shapes who you become.
- 0:23Proverbs chapter 14, verses 18 to 19 says the simple inherit
- 0:27folly, but the prudent are crowned with knowledge That
- 0:31reminds us that wisdom is not automatic.
- 0:34It comes through paying attention, learning from God,
- 0:37and letting truth guide your steps.
- 0:40Mark chapter 16, verses 5 to 8 tells us about the women at the
- 0:43empty tomb. They had come expecting death
- 0:47and grief, but instead they were met with the shocking news that
- 0:50Jesus had risen. The passage says they were
- 0:53trembling and astonished and they were afraid.
- 0:57That reaction feels so human. Sometimes God is at work in ways
- 1:01we do not understand, and fear rushes in before faith has time
- 1:05to catch up. Maybe that is where you are
- 1:07right now. You want to choose the right
- 1:10path, but you feel unsure, nervous, or overwhelmed.
- 1:14You know God is calling you to trust him, but fear keeps making
- 1:17everything feel harder than it should.
- 1:20That is why prudence matters. Wisdom does not mean having
- 1:23every answer. It means choosing to follow God
- 1:26even when you are trembling. The simple path often says just
- 1:30go with what is easiest, what feels natural, what everyone
- 1:33else is doing. But the prudent path says stop
- 1:36and ask what is true. Stop and ask what honors God.
- 1:41Stop and ask which direction leads to life.
- 1:43You do not have to let fear decide for you.
- 1:46Fear is loud, but it is not always wise.
- 1:49God's presence may not remove every uncertain feeling
- 1:52immediately, but it does give you a faithful guide.
- 1:56He knows how to lead you when you feel shaky.
- 1:59He knows how to steady your heart while you walk.
- 2:01So choose the path that keeps you close to Jesus.
- 2:04Choose what builds faith, not just comfort.
- 2:08Choose what reflects obedience, even if it costs you something.
- 2:11The right path may not always feel easy, but it will always be
- 2:14worth it. Let's pray.
- 2:17Heavenly Father, thank you for caring about the direction of my
- 2:20life. Help me choose wisdom over
- 2:22carelessness and faith over fear.
- 2:25When I feel uncertain, guide me with Your truth and steady my
- 2:28heart with Your presence. Teach me to trust You one step
- 2:32at a time and to walk the path that brings honor to You and
- 2:35life to my soul in Jesus name, Amen.
- 2:43What if you could rise up and declare with full spiritual
- 2:46authority, I shall not die but live?

- 3:47Proverbs chapter 14 verses 18 to 19 World English Bible The
- 3:52simple inherit folly, but the prudent are crowned with
- 3:55knowledge, the evil bow down before the good and the wicked
- 3:59at the gates of the righteous. Mark Chapter 16 World English
- 4:03Bible When the Sabbath was passed, Mary Magdalene and Mary
- 4:08the mother of James and Salome bought spices that they might
- 4:11come and anoint him. Very early on the first day of
- 4:15the week they came to the tomb. When the sun had risen, they
- 4:19were saying among themselves, Who will roll away the stone
- 4:22from the door of the tomb for us, for it was very big.
- 4:25Looking up they saw that the stone was rolled back.
- 4:29Entering into the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right
- 4:32side dressed in a white robe, and they were amazed.
- 4:35He said to them, Don't be amazed, you seek Jesus the
- 4:39Nazarene, who has been crucified.
- 4:41He has risen, He is not here. See the place where they laid
- 4:44him, but go tell His disciples and Peter, He goes before you
- 4:48into Galilee. There you will see Him, as He
- 4:52said to you. They went out and fled from the
- 4:54tomb, for trembling and astonishment had come on them.
- 4:58They said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid now.
- 5:01When he had risen early on the first day of the week, he
- 5:04appeared first to Mary Magdalene, from whom he had cast
- 5:08out seven demons. She went and told those who had
- 5:11been with him as they mourned and wept.
- 5:14When they heard that he was alive and had been seen by her,
- 5:17they disbelieved. After these things he was
- 5:20revealed in another form to two of them as they walked on their
- 5:23way into the country. They went away and told it to
- 5:26the rest. They didn't believe them either.
- 5:30Afterward, he was revealed to the 11 themselves as they sat at
- 5:33the table, and he rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness
- 5:37of heart because they didn't believe those who had seen him.
- 5:41After he had risen, he said to them, Go into all the world and
- 5:45preach the good news to the whole creation.
- 5:48He who believes and is baptized will be saved, but he who
- 5:51disbelieves will be condemned. These signs will accompany those
- 5:56who believe in my name. They will cast out demons, they
- 5:59will speak with new languages, they will take up serpents, and
- 6:03if they drink any deadly thing it will in no way hurt them.
- 6:07They will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.
- 6:10So then the Lord, after he had spoken to them, was received up
- 6:13into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God.
- 6:17They went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working
- 6:20with them and confirming the word by the signs that followed.
