- 1:38Speaker 1: All right, welcome to Patriots Unfiltered. It is Wednesday here
- 1:42Speaker 1: at Jillette Stadium, our final show of the week because
- 1:45Speaker 1: tomorrow is Thanksgiving, So happy pre Thanksgiving to everyone out there.
- 1:51Speaker 1: We'll be doing this show. Gotta hurry because we're gonna
- 1:53Speaker 1: have to do picks a lot of early games Slate.
- 1:56Speaker 1: We've got three Thursday games in a Black Friday game
- 2:00Speaker 1: this week, and I want to write a little read
- 2:03Speaker 1: a little thing a little later. It's from Joe Pompoliano,
- 2:07Speaker 1: who kind of covers the league from a business standpoint.
- 2:11Speaker 1: He's got some interesting story about how Amazon is handling
- 2:15Speaker 1: this Friday game. I thought it was interesting, so maybe
- 2:18Speaker 1: I'll read it. It's not long, but how they.
- 2:20Speaker 3: Should indicate how they claim that there's like, I don't know,
- 2:23Speaker 3: eighty two million more people actually watching it than are.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Something to that effect. But it's really today, it's really
- 2:30Speaker 1: more of it technology.
- 2:31Speaker 3: I think, do you want me to just do it now?
- 2:34Speaker 3: I know? I mean, we could break down the two
- 2:37Speaker 3: and eight.
- 2:39Speaker 1: So this is Joe at Joe Pompeliano. He says Amazon
- 2:43Speaker 1: is paying one hundred million dollars to broadcast the NFL's
- 2:46Speaker 1: first ever Black Friday game, but it's really a chess
- 2:50Speaker 1: move to steal market share from brick and mortar stores
- 2:52Speaker 1: and generate online sales. Let me explain. Thanksgiving Day football
- 2:57Speaker 1: has always been huge. Last year's games average thirty three
- 3:00Speaker 1: and a half million viewers, including forty two million viewers
- 3:03Speaker 1: for Cowboys Giants, the most watched regular season game of
- 3:06Speaker 1: all time. I didn't know that. Then he goes into twenty.
- 3:10Speaker 3: Twenty the most watched regular season game on Thanksgiving of
- 3:14Speaker 3: all time.
- 3:15Speaker 1: He just said, of all time.
- 3:16Speaker 3: This didn't clari It wasn't the Monday night game that
- 3:18Speaker 3: just happened like yesterday, the most watched most.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Maybe maybe he wrote this two days early. I don't
- 3:22Speaker 1: know anyway. Twenty twenty two average viewership NBA Christmas Day
- 3:27Speaker 1: was four point twenty seven million, NFL Thanksgiving Day was
- 3:30Speaker 1: thirty three and a half million. But the NFL has
- 3:32Speaker 1: never done a Black Friday game because one, and I
- 3:34Speaker 1: didn't know this. It's a holiday known for people leaving
- 3:37Speaker 1: the house to go shopping and do that. But two,
- 3:40Speaker 1: the Sports Broadcasting Act of nineteen sixty one prohibits courts
- 3:45Speaker 1: prohibit President prohibits NFL games on Fridays after six o'clock
- 3:50Speaker 1: and all day on Saturdays during the fall. This rule
- 3:53Speaker 1: was implemented by Congress to protect high school and college
- 3:56Speaker 1: football from seeing a decline in attendance and viewership because
- 3:59Speaker 1: of the NFL. But Amazon offered the NFL one hundred
- 4:03Speaker 1: million for the game, so they decided to put it
- 4:05Speaker 1: at three pm ET to skirt the rule. And it's
- 4:08Speaker 1: an even better deal for Amazon. Amazon is allowing anyone
- 4:12Speaker 1: to watch. Amazon's first Thursday night football broadcast generated more
- 4:17Speaker 1: Prime signed Prime signups than any three hour window in
- 4:20Speaker 1: company history. And Amazon is also reportedly charging two x
- 4:24Speaker 1: more than their Thursday night football broadcast for thirty second
- 4:28Speaker 1: ad placement and he goes into what those pricing is.
- 4:30Speaker 1: But more importantly, Amazon will leverage its new ad strategy
- 4:34Speaker 1: called audience based Creative. This will enable brands to target
- 4:38Speaker 1: different audience segments with different ads in the same time slot.
- 4:42Speaker 1: For example, according to adage bows we know bos right
- 4:47Speaker 1: will show three different three I'll show three different ads
- 4:50Speaker 1: using Amazon's ad technology. The first ad features Joe Burrow
- 4:54Speaker 1: and will be delivered to non Prime members, while the
- 4:57Speaker 1: other two Bose ads will feature different products and be
- 4:59Speaker 1: s only to Prime members based on their Amazon Prime
- 5:03Speaker 1: search history. Oh god, and here's the best part. These
- 5:07Speaker 1: targeted ads will also be shoppable, meaning viewers can watch
- 5:10Speaker 1: the commercial, place the product in their cart with the
- 5:13Speaker 1: click of a button, and check out without ever leaving
- 5:16Speaker 1: the broadcast.
- 5:18Speaker 3: Fall.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Yeah, that makes Amazon's broadcast far more valuable than a
- 5:21Speaker 1: typical commercial. Brands will be able to retarget these customers
- 5:25Speaker 1: after the game, and it also gives us a view
- 5:27Speaker 1: into how brand advertising could look in the future. So
- 5:30Speaker 1: it goes on, but very I think that's pretty cool,
- 5:33Speaker 1: very interesting.
- 5:35Speaker 3: Watching us. Which one is?
- 5:38Speaker 1: I mean, so, now, like, why would Amazon pay all
- 5:41Speaker 1: that money for Thursday? And now it's starting to become
- 5:43Speaker 1: a little clear about you know, if they're going to
- 5:46Speaker 1: do it for Black Friday, they'll probably keep doing it
- 5:49Speaker 1: for other games.
- 5:49Speaker 3: And if you want to be a player in this arena,
- 5:52Speaker 3: you are probably going to have to take some losses
- 5:55Speaker 3: up front. Yeah, and pay more than you know, the
- 5:57Speaker 3: big boys normally. But for a company like I get it.
- 6:00Speaker 3: We're a company like Amazon. They can directly market to
- 6:04Speaker 3: people they know who they are because you're signed in,
- 6:07Speaker 3: if you're a prime member, you have So it's it's
- 6:11Speaker 3: that very very smart that that worries me, that that
- 6:14Speaker 3: might actually get me to watch the game. Yeah, because
- 6:17Speaker 3: you know, I don't.
- 6:18Speaker 1: I'm a prime member? Is everybody here a prime member?
- 6:21Speaker 3: And I just want to I'm kind of curious to
- 6:24Speaker 3: see what they would target, right, well, my house.
- 6:27Speaker 6: Best stuff, like it's all gonna be stuff that Beth
- 6:29Speaker 6: bought not But that's good, right, what's good for them that.
- 6:33Speaker 3: You know what's coming up? Mike? But do you yes,
- 6:38Speaker 3: I've been reminded.
- 6:40Speaker 8: You know.
- 6:40Speaker 1: They they've always said that with you know, the world
- 6:44Speaker 1: Wide Web, and you know we're gonna we're gonna get like,
- 6:47Speaker 1: you know, targeted ads, and to some effect, you do
- 6:50Speaker 1: get that based on your search history. But this to
- 6:53Speaker 1: me is this is the silver bullet. And Amazon is
- 6:56Speaker 1: a perfect company to take advantage of.
- 6:58Speaker 5: Oh god, I'm gonna get so many dogs as it's
- 7:01Speaker 5: just gonna be like Dona.
- 7:03Speaker 1: Probably I would rather I would rather, I'm okay giving
- 7:08Speaker 1: up a little bit of information to get things i'm
- 7:11Speaker 1: interested in. I'm good with that exchange.
- 7:13Speaker 6: Yeah, well you still get like targeted ads. Like sometimes
- 7:16Speaker 6: you will be watching shows and them it's just like
- 7:17Speaker 6: a lot of like you know, male enhancements and things
- 7:21Speaker 6: like that, and you're like, man, it's just the demo
- 7:22Speaker 6: line in now, I don't get anything.
- 7:24Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 7:30Speaker 1: Yah, Paul gets all like the rugged man.
- 7:33Speaker 3: One, but the outdoor soap there, yeah, right, working man, right,
- 7:42Speaker 3: So it's going to be a lot of dogs. That
- 7:45Speaker 3: is interesting. I'm curious now to see what what kind
- 7:48Speaker 3: of ads they they throw at? What do I get?
- 7:51Speaker 3: I don't generally watch any of that. I don't watch
- 7:54Speaker 3: the Thursday night games because of the ads.
- 7:56Speaker 1: I don't.
- 7:56Speaker 3: I want to change the channel and I can't.
- 7:58Speaker 6: Yeah, it's going to be targeted to my wife primarily,
- 8:00Speaker 6: who buys most of the Amazon stuff, So you know,
- 8:03Speaker 6: like that's and she's not going to watch.
- 8:04Speaker 3: So I don't know. Maybe when you.
- 8:07Speaker 1: Go to Amazon Prime and ask you who's watching? So
- 8:11Speaker 1: have you never signed into Amazon Prime?
- 8:13Speaker 8: No?
- 8:13Speaker 3: I have?
- 8:14Speaker 1: I have, So there's a little square.
- 8:16Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, what if I select the kids no one
- 8:19Speaker 6: will be getting then.
- 8:20Speaker 3: I don't know if you want to. I don't think
- 8:22Speaker 3: I have a profile. I think I just hit best.
- 8:24Speaker 1: So you're going to get all best stuff. And so
- 8:26Speaker 1: now you'll know what you're going to get for Christmas.
- 8:29Speaker 3: Or what that wants for. I was kind of hoping
- 8:31Speaker 3: I would know what to get bet for.
- 8:32Speaker 6: Well, maybe you can just do your Christmas shopping right
- 8:34Speaker 6: during the game calls.
- 8:37Speaker 3: Click, you know, because what better way for me to
- 8:39Speaker 3: shop than watching a football game and hitting that might
- 8:43Speaker 3: have been made for me.
- 8:44Speaker 1: But I think Amazon is going to show the way
- 8:47Speaker 1: to a lot of the companies, and I think the
- 8:49Speaker 1: next step for me is gambling, where you can just
- 8:52Speaker 1: sit on your couch with your remote. Exfinity is involved.
- 8:55Speaker 1: They get some of the big and you can place
- 8:57Speaker 1: bets on your remote.
- 8:58Speaker 3: We can't do that though.
- 9:00Speaker 1: No we can't, but the public will be able to
- 9:02Speaker 1: do that.
- 9:03Speaker 3: So you brought up the gamboling thing. Do you think
- 9:09Speaker 3: do you think there's any potential pitfalls for the NFL
- 9:11Speaker 3: with like the Cincinnati situation last week last Thursday, ironically
- 9:15Speaker 3: in the last stream on oh not yeah, I.
- 9:18Speaker 1: Mean Cincinnati, you have to enforce them.
- 9:21Speaker 3: I'm not talking about since Cincinnati. Cincinnati should be in
- 9:24Speaker 3: trouble for lying on the injury point. They'll probably get fined.
- 9:27Speaker 3: But I'm talking about like like the Portnoy nonsense of
- 9:31Speaker 3: like a class action suit against the NFL for you know,
- 9:36Speaker 3: not you know, people who bet on that game not
- 9:39Speaker 3: knowing that Burrow was hurt. Well, like, did you think
- 9:43Speaker 3: there's any issues for the league at lot?
- 9:45Speaker 8: You know what I mean?
- 9:46Speaker 3: Like, I get like Cincinnati clearly took liberties at the
- 9:50Speaker 3: very least with the injury report. That he should have
- 9:52Speaker 3: been on the injury report even though they knew he
- 9:55Speaker 3: was playing, he was hurt, and they knew he was hurt,
- 9:57Speaker 3: and they should have developed that. I think they shoul
- 10:00Speaker 3: you'd be fine for it if they haven't already. No,
- 10:02Speaker 3: but you're right, But but but I mean bigger picture, And
- 10:05Speaker 3: Portnoy was on this and is not a dumb guy.
- 10:07Speaker 3: I mean, he's he knows how to stir the hornets nest.
- 10:11Speaker 1: No, before gambling was legal, you had no recourse. You're
- 10:15Speaker 1: not supposed to be doing it anyway, right, But now
- 10:17Speaker 1: that it's legal, it opens up that door.
- 10:20Speaker 3: It's tough.
- 10:20Speaker 6: I mean, you have you know the issues with like players,
- 10:23Speaker 6: gambling stuff like that, all those issues are going to
- 10:25Speaker 6: come to a head, and it just it makes it
- 10:26Speaker 6: so easy. Like I don't know, there's part of me
- 10:28Speaker 6: that knows there are people that are going to struggle
- 10:31Speaker 6: with that. Like just easy bet boom, you know, and
- 10:33Speaker 6: next thing you know, you're ten grand in the hole
- 10:35Speaker 6: because it's so easy just to hit your remote button
- 10:37Speaker 6: instead of having any sign.
- 10:41Speaker 5: Just like you know, not that I know from experience,
- 10:44Speaker 5: but like at first it's like, oh, it's just twenty bucks.
- 10:46Speaker 5: It was twenty bucks, and then it becomes forty, and
- 10:48Speaker 5: then it becomes sixty, and then all of a sudden,
- 10:50Speaker 5: you're I think.
- 10:51Speaker 3: That the way in is like parlays.
- 10:54Speaker 6: That's what I used to do, where it's just you know,
- 10:55Speaker 6: it's a five dollars three different thing. You know, it's
- 10:58Speaker 6: no money, but you know if you hit all three
- 11:00Speaker 6: and then it makes the whole day interesting.
- 11:01Speaker 3: That was the way when.
- 11:03Speaker 6: I did a little bit back in the day college
- 11:05Speaker 6: football gambling that who I got kind of into.
- 11:07Speaker 3: It, Yeah, before I worked betting on basketball.
- 11:12Speaker 6: Well, it was primarily motivated when you have no real
- 11:15Speaker 6: rooting interest in a game, and it's like I'm going
- 11:17Speaker 6: to this party. I remember this like eleven or twelve
- 11:19Speaker 6: when it was a big deal USC Notre Dame. I
- 11:22Speaker 6: think it was like Reggie Bush and you know, those
- 11:23Speaker 6: years and stuff, and it.
- 11:24Speaker 3: Was one of the greatest reactions in the Patriot, huge
- 11:27Speaker 3: on the butt number when you got there, Fred, I
- 11:29Speaker 3: forget the Bush. Yeah, that game. Yeah, mcginniston, Givens almost
- 11:34Speaker 3: came to blow after.
- 11:35Speaker 1: That's funny.
- 11:36Speaker 3: Yeah, but that I mean not real blow, you know,
- 11:39Speaker 3: not really, it was.
- 11:40Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean that was the fun of it though,
- 11:42Speaker 6: is when you don't really have a rooting interest, you know,
- 11:43Speaker 6: you're gonna be stuck watching the game, So let's do
- 11:46Speaker 6: a little yeah.
- 11:47Speaker 1: I mean listen, I you know, back in the day,
- 11:49Speaker 1: you know, I lived on Commab with a bunch of guys.
- 11:52Speaker 1: We had six bedrooms in this apartment, and you know,
- 11:55Speaker 1: we bet on Sunday and it was fun it. You know,
- 11:58Speaker 1: like you said, what is the amount of Edwards had
- 12:00Speaker 1: to do it? Well, I'm just saying. We literally called
- 12:03Speaker 1: it the men's club, you know, And so like Sunday
- 12:07Speaker 1: would sit around, eat and watch football and and put
- 12:10Speaker 1: a little action on it and it just made the
- 12:13Speaker 1: whole day interesting, even if you could care less about
- 12:16Speaker 1: the teams.
- 12:17Speaker 3: You know, money involved skin in the game, right, Yeah,
- 12:21Speaker 3: I don't know, that's that's what you guys get excited.
- 12:23Speaker 3: I don't really get.
- 12:24Speaker 1: The guy who used to pick up pick up our
- 12:26Speaker 1: losses was a Boston fireman.
- 12:30Speaker 3: So I had never gambled before. So no, not in
- 12:34Speaker 3: games now. I haven't for a long time.
- 12:36Speaker 1: Just gamble on life.
- 12:38Speaker 5: All the time, you know, I know, I like, you know,
- 12:40Speaker 5: I play a little Blackjack here and there, but like
- 12:42Speaker 5: I've never actually placed a bed.
- 12:44Speaker 1: Honest Now that we're I've done, Now that we're employees,
- 12:47Speaker 1: have Patriot, we can no longer gamble.
- 12:50Speaker 6: Honestly, I kind of am happy about that because it's
- 12:52Speaker 6: just I don't it's just a road I don't need
- 12:54Speaker 6: to really go down.
- 12:55Speaker 3: Absolutely definitely a while though, I'm like, I wish I
- 13:01Speaker 3: right the ease of it now. I would like, especially
- 13:03Speaker 3: like a week like last week and watching red Zone
- 13:05Speaker 3: all day, I would like to have like a couple
- 13:07Speaker 3: of small, little twenty dollars things just to have fun with.
- 13:12Speaker 3: But I haven't. I haven't had a bet and all. Honestly,
- 13:14Speaker 3: I haven't had a bet on a game since high school.
- 13:17Speaker 1: High school.
- 13:19Speaker 3: Yeah, which kind of stinks.
- 13:21Speaker 6: You bet on high school games, made a bundle on
- 13:24Speaker 6: ever High.
- 13:25Speaker 3: What he got on every with the action on ever tonight. Yeah,
- 13:27Speaker 3: it's been thirty years. Probably same. I wasn't big on
- 13:32Speaker 3: the Joey. I know you make fun of me all
- 13:34Speaker 3: the time for being an Everett friend. I was not
- 13:36Speaker 3: big on the Joey the nose. I always thought, I'm
- 13:39Speaker 3: going to be the one that gets caught. I'm going
- 13:40Speaker 3: to get in trouble. I don't do a lot of that. Yeah, well,
- 13:43Speaker 3: poor won't see him no more.
- 13:44Speaker 1: No, that's what I always thought, all right, eight five
- 13:48Speaker 1: five pasts five hundred disease Take an outline web radio
- 13:50Speaker 1: at pages dot com. It is the day before Thanksgiving,
- 13:55Speaker 1: so we're not going to be having a show tomorrow,
- 14:00Speaker 1: but of course we'll have the pregame, post game and
- 14:02Speaker 1: everything on Sunday, and we do have a game on Sunday.
- 14:05Speaker 1: Mac Jones spoke this morning, and Mac Jones spoke, I'm
- 14:08Speaker 1: not surprised anyone surprised that he spoke today. No, yeah,
- 14:15Speaker 1: you know you're not. You're gonna put back out. If
- 14:18Speaker 1: you have to put a quarterback out, you're gonna put
- 14:19Speaker 1: him out. I think he's gonna start. I did too, Yeah,
- 14:24Speaker 1: I do.
- 14:25Speaker 3: I'm really not sure.
- 14:26Speaker 1: You're not sure.
- 14:27Speaker 3: I know that sounds wishy washy, but I'm not.
- 14:29Speaker 1: What do you think, Evan?
- 14:30Speaker 5: I I don't think he should start. I think this
- 14:34Speaker 5: is a bad spot for him to try to get
- 14:38Speaker 5: whatever you want to call it, the yips where the yeah,
- 14:42Speaker 5: the scene ghosts well.
- 14:44Speaker 1: As I said in Mike's roundtable that he's circulated, I
- 14:47Speaker 1: think he's gonna start, but it's going to be a
- 14:48Speaker 1: very short leash. And they told and they're gonna tell
- 14:51Speaker 1: him so before the game.
- 14:53Speaker 3: Like, I just don't see what benefit of that.
- 14:56Speaker 1: How does he how does he deal with that pressure?
- 14:58Speaker 5: Yeah, we've I mean, but they've already put him under
- 15:01Speaker 5: like like I feel like that's what his whole career
- 15:03Speaker 5: is Ben and it hasn't gone right.
- 15:05Speaker 6: But I don't think they've ever said in a game
- 15:07Speaker 6: double secret probation.
- 15:09Speaker 1: Bailey, Bailey's going to be ready. It's a short leash.
- 15:14Speaker 3: Good luck. Yeah, that splits it. Good for anybody. I
- 15:18Speaker 3: don't think it's good for anybody. I mean, that a
- 15:20Speaker 3: good way to go into a game.
- 15:22Speaker 1: But it's not if winning at all costs is the objective,
- 15:26Speaker 1: but I don't think it is. I think at this
- 15:27Speaker 1: point it's who do we have?
- 15:29Speaker 3: Who's with you?
- 15:30Speaker 1: Who are our players?
- 15:32Speaker 6: And that's what I was getting out at the second
- 15:33Speaker 6: question in the like, no matter who starts, like, what
- 15:36Speaker 6: are they looking for?
- 15:37Speaker 3: I mean, is it out there?
- 15:38Speaker 6: Like I just don't know how Mac Jones can fix
- 15:40Speaker 6: all the problems that we've talked about over the last
- 15:43Speaker 6: what five six weeks when it's really just started to
- 15:45Speaker 6: devolve for him with his throwing off his back foot,
- 15:49Speaker 6: you know, not having any pocket presence, inability to escape
- 15:52Speaker 6: any kind of pressure.
- 15:54Speaker 3: How does that get right? In what four days off? Why?
- 15:58Speaker 3: That's why I would start Zaby, That's why I would
- 16:01Speaker 3: took us. I think Zappi is going to go out
- 16:02Speaker 3: and throw for eight hundred yards in five touchdowns.
- 16:04Speaker 6: I know I'm with you, and that's and that's and
- 16:06Speaker 6: I'm kind of bummed that I feel this way. But
- 16:08Speaker 6: it's just like if they if they haven't made a
- 16:10Speaker 6: move to Zappi now, like why, like what's like, I
- 16:13Speaker 6: don't think they're going to unless Mac completely poops his
- 16:16Speaker 6: pants in this game, like you said, and you know
- 16:18Speaker 6: in early in the game, and it looks, you know,
- 16:20Speaker 6: he gets that terrible pick out of the way in
- 16:22Speaker 6: the first drive, and then it's.
- 16:23Speaker 3: Like, but what did you expect him to do if
- 16:25Speaker 3: he starts this game and doesn't finish it for a performance,
- 16:29Speaker 3: don't you think you just start the next game?
- 16:31Speaker 1: I want to see.
- 16:31Speaker 3: That's how I felt last year.
- 16:32Speaker 1: I mean's you can make the argument that his job's
- 16:35Speaker 1: been on the line the whole way through, but I
- 16:37Speaker 1: wanted to see, how are you going to react when
- 16:40Speaker 1: I tell you your job's on the line right now?
- 16:43Speaker 3: Like that's operating under the assumption that hasn't been.
- 16:45Speaker 1: Told, right, I said, I'm like, it could have already
- 16:48Speaker 1: been done that, But I I you know, I still
- 16:51Speaker 1: think they shouldn't have taken him out that game. Yeah,
- 16:53Speaker 1: one drive left, let's see what he can do.
- 16:57Speaker 3: So I just I would have taken him out two
- 16:59Speaker 3: drives ear Yeah like that, Like, let's not make it
- 17:02Speaker 3: sound like I wouldn't have taken him off because of performance.
- 17:06Speaker 1: Would because you think Zapi could have done better.
- 17:08Speaker 3: I think I know he can't do better. I've seen
- 17:11Speaker 3: it for two plus years.
- 17:13Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know. I still think he's the best
- 17:15Speaker 1: quarterback on the team.
- 17:17Speaker 5: I think this is the best quarterback on the team
- 17:18Speaker 5: if he was mentally correct. But I just this is
- 17:23Speaker 5: a matchup against the Giants that Wink Martindale sends more
- 17:26Speaker 5: pressure at quarterbacks than any coach in the league.
- 17:29Speaker 1: Trent Browns back.
- 17:31Speaker 3: But blitz pressure.
- 17:32Speaker 5: We're gonna They're gonna bring pressure from everywhere. And you're
- 17:36Speaker 5: telling me that the best idea for to get any
- 17:40Speaker 5: whatever path you want to take moving forward with Mac,
- 17:43Speaker 5: he's on your football team, and he's under contract for
- 17:46Speaker 5: next year, and he's part of this organization right now.
- 17:49Speaker 5: The best path forward, after he clearly displayed that he
- 17:53Speaker 5: is just seeing ghosts and all out of sorts in Germany,
- 17:57Speaker 5: is to throw him into a game against Wink Martindale,
- 18:01Speaker 5: who's gonna blitz him on fifty percent of his dropbacks,
- 18:05Speaker 5: is going to bring five and six man pressure.
- 18:07Speaker 1: When did the Giants' defense become the eighty five bear.
- 18:10Speaker 3: That's not the point, no, it is, I mean.
- 18:12Speaker 5: But the point is is that he's already throwing off
- 18:15Speaker 5: his back foot. He's already throwing like all out of
- 18:18Speaker 5: swords against pressure, has no pocket presence.
- 18:20Speaker 1: All this, as Bill O'Brian has said, he's played well
- 18:22Speaker 1: before and he can play well again. I want to
- 18:25Speaker 1: give him this last chance.
- 18:26Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, I just I would much rather try
- 18:29Speaker 3: to A. I think that this is just to get it.
- 18:31Speaker 3: I don't get that it's a terrible spot for him,
- 18:33Speaker 3: Like it's a terrible matchup. Yeah, I don't know about
- 18:36Speaker 3: the Matt I know, I know all about the blitzing. Like,
- 18:38Speaker 3: to me, you're playing an NFL team. That's a bad matchup. A.
- 18:42Speaker 3: I mean, I'm dead serious, Like because he is. I
- 18:44Speaker 3: think Mike said it earlier in the show, Like what
- 18:47Speaker 3: evidence do you have that all of a sudden, the
- 18:49Speaker 3: backfoot throws, the not feeling the pressure and feeling too
- 18:52Speaker 3: much pressure is going to all of a sudden evaporate
- 18:55Speaker 3: after three years.
- 18:56Speaker 1: Maybe he didn't feel enough pressure.
- 18:58Speaker 3: Maybe I'm not talking about pressure for your job. I'm
- 19:00Speaker 3: talking about actual physical pressure on the field pass rush,
- 19:04Speaker 3: that's what Evan's talking about. The Giants heat you up.
- 19:06Speaker 1: Now.
- 19:07Speaker 3: The Giants are not the best defense in football, but
- 19:09Speaker 3: it's a pretty good defense that's made to look really
- 19:12Speaker 3: bad by their offense. Like they get put in a
- 19:14Speaker 3: lot of bad spots.
- 19:15Speaker 5: You're gonna have Dexter Lawrence coming up the middle against
- 19:18Speaker 5: the guy that doesn't already want already doesn't want to
- 19:20Speaker 5: step up in the pocket. He's gonna be thrown off
- 19:22Speaker 5: his back foot all day long. And I just I
- 19:25Speaker 5: don't understand how that is beneficial for Mac, Like Mac
- 19:28Speaker 5: the asset, Like, how does that help him which opponent?
- 19:31Speaker 1: Well, that's that's assuming that you believe he is an
- 19:34Speaker 1: asset going forward. I want to see.
- 19:36Speaker 3: I just see if last year was just a complete
- 19:40Speaker 3: and total. I just want to see one game. I
- 19:44Speaker 3: just want to see if it looks different last year,
- 19:46Speaker 3: it looked different when he played. I just want to
- 19:48Speaker 3: see it once. I don't think Zappie's better than Jones.
- 19:50Speaker 3: I don't know it's fair, but I just want to
- 19:52Speaker 3: see if the offense looks different.
- 19:54Speaker 1: But if that's if that's the kids, and we don't know,
- 19:57Speaker 1: he'd better be getting the majority of the snaps in practice.
- 19:59Speaker 1: If that's what they're gonna do with Zappy this week,
- 20:02Speaker 1: it's only fair day.
- 20:03Speaker 3: Ever, Starting is getting the majority of well, I hope So.
- 20:06Speaker 3: I don't know who Starting.
- 20:08Speaker 6: I hope So and Mac talked about it a little
- 20:09Speaker 6: bit this morning, and it was like, you know, it
- 20:11Speaker 6: was like one of those things do you expect to start?
- 20:13Speaker 6: And I know Paul mentioned that people were running with
- 20:15Speaker 6: his response a little bit, which I think was just
- 20:16Speaker 6: what did he say?
- 20:18Speaker 3: Just a classic Mac? I hope?
- 20:19Speaker 4: So I hope So that's the plan, Like, you know,
- 20:22Speaker 4: that's for him, that's his plan, that's his plan.
- 20:24Speaker 3: How I read it.
- 20:25Speaker 6: But the guys did a good job asking him questions
- 20:27Speaker 6: just about rotating snaps and stuff, and you know, so
- 20:29Speaker 6: he did like kind of acknowledge that that's what's been
- 20:32Speaker 6: going on. So I just I don't know, is somebody
- 20:36Speaker 6: gonna emerge today to Friday?
- 20:38Speaker 3: And you know, is that it's gonna be And if
- 20:41Speaker 3: you guys don't agree, feel feel free. We could just
- 20:43Speaker 3: drop it. I mean, I do not think that practice
- 20:46Speaker 3: has a lot to do with this, Like I don't
- 20:48Speaker 3: think that Bailey's Appy is gonna go out there and
- 20:50Speaker 3: string two good practices together when they're gonna say, you
- 20:53Speaker 3: know what, Mac.
- 20:55Speaker 1: Maybe not this week, but I think practice overall has
- 20:57Speaker 1: always a lot to do with it. And I think
- 20:59Speaker 1: if Bailey's Happy had shown this season that he's coming on,
- 21:05Speaker 1: he would have had more opportunities than he already has.
- 21:08Speaker 3: You could say that about training camp. I'm about talking
- 21:10Speaker 3: about week two practice. It's all different than backup quarterbacks
- 21:13Speaker 3: don't get the reps mostly it's mostly just mop up.
- 21:16Speaker 3: But you but you're still said he didn't even have
- 21:19Speaker 3: many I mean, how many opportunities did he have to
- 21:21Speaker 3: run the two minute drill? Like, and then he puts
- 21:23Speaker 3: him out there for the two minute drill. It's like, yeah,
- 21:25Speaker 3: he's done. He's done well with some of his opportunities,
- 21:27Speaker 3: like these coaches know.
- 21:28Speaker 6: But but you're saying that with your belief that there
- 21:32Speaker 6: isn't really a lot of reps being divvied up evenly.
- 21:35Speaker 3: Because if you're really trying to get a quarterback ready
- 21:38Speaker 3: to play in the game, he needs to get the
- 21:40Speaker 3: reps right.
- 21:40Speaker 6: And that's why it's such a disservice if this isn't
- 21:43Speaker 6: really what and these questions again, we're saying, are you
- 21:46Speaker 6: gonna be able to get ready if you don't have
- 21:47Speaker 6: the bulk of the reps? And how do you prepare
- 21:49Speaker 6: the quarterback when you're in the middle of Oh, he
- 21:51Speaker 6: got his six reps, Now your turn.
- 21:53Speaker 3: Like I'm one hundred years old and I only remember
- 21:55Speaker 3: things from like twenty five years ago, but I remember
- 21:57Speaker 3: Bill telling me how it's not feasible to get two
- 22:00Speaker 3: quarterbacks ready for a game. Back in two thousand and one,
- 22:03Speaker 3: oh Brian said that I'll never find that.
- 22:05Speaker 1: So somebody else did. It was on Twitter. Somebody else
- 22:10Speaker 1: found that.
- 22:10Speaker 3: You know who I like. I like to credit people.
- 22:14Speaker 1: It was either Mark Daniels or I don't think it
- 22:19Speaker 1: was Kayed. It might have been. It's one of the
- 22:22Speaker 1: touchdown guys, I think. But somebody pulled that out. What
- 22:27Speaker 1: was a GRD No GRD. Jardi gave kudos to the
- 22:31Speaker 1: person who un go to gr That's how I saw
- 22:34Speaker 1: it because Grdi reposted it, so.
- 22:37Speaker 5: So go to gr Obrian said that two is doable.
- 22:40Speaker 5: You can get two guys. You know you can give
- 22:42Speaker 5: two guys competitive reps.
- 22:45Speaker 3: Andy Hart?
- 22:46Speaker 1: Oh, Andy Hart? Who Why didn't I know that?
- 22:48Speaker 3: Andy Hart? I don't think you can really get two
- 22:51Speaker 3: quarterbacks ready. I think you can get one ready. And
- 22:53Speaker 3: that is what we have to do. We have to
- 22:56Speaker 3: get one guy ready to play, and that is my
- 22:57Speaker 3: responsibility to the football team.
- 23:00Speaker 1: Two thousand.
- 23:00Speaker 3: Will Belichick in two.
- 23:01Speaker 1: Thousands, and that makes sense because at that time Andy
- 23:03Speaker 1: was in the PR department for the page.
- 23:05Speaker 6: He probably transcribed that yeah, good job. And I saw
- 23:09Speaker 6: Andy in full football regalia there, and Ei had.
- 23:11Speaker 3: His helmet on.
- 23:12Speaker 6: Such how does they had helmets big enough for him
- 23:15Speaker 6: at Dartmouth High School?
- 23:16Speaker 3: They would have to order out.
- 23:16Speaker 1: Well, actually, you know you know the things you you spaghetti,
- 23:20Speaker 1: you put calendar, your calendar, that's all it is.
- 23:23Speaker 3: Yeah, he look good though. He was still filling out
- 23:25Speaker 3: his helmet pretty nice.
- 23:26Speaker 6: Got his stickers on there and everything, Dartmouth jacket, captain
- 23:30Speaker 6: and cool.
- 23:31Speaker 3: So we wore all those in here. Once. Fred had
- 23:33Speaker 3: his wrestling single it on. Ooh, lame would have liked that.
- 23:37Speaker 3: He didn't really.
- 23:38Speaker 1: I brought it, but I didn't wear it.
- 23:40Speaker 3: And I had I had my bu letterman jacket. He
- 23:42Speaker 3: had his dartmouths jacket. I think I chucked mine. We
- 23:46Speaker 3: were you know, we had a dork vest.
- 23:48Speaker 6: Yeah, it's fun memories, glory days, right, am I wrong?
- 23:53Speaker 3: Eric got his quicker jacket.
- 23:54Speaker 1: Mine was from college.
- 23:55Speaker 6: So you know that the leather, the leather sleeves.
- 23:58Speaker 3: I had the leather sleeves, that's the Dartmouth one was
- 24:02Speaker 3: a leather.
- 24:02Speaker 1: My my letter jacket for tennis. That's stolen.
- 24:05Speaker 6: Really we would do that, you know, I don't have
- 24:08Speaker 6: on it was it like a sweater with like it
- 24:10Speaker 6: was like one of those.
- 24:12Speaker 3: They just steal for the.
- 24:13Speaker 1: Something you tiere on your shoulders, just.
- 24:16Speaker 6: The big letter like D for Dennis. Why sweater golf sweater?
- 24:24Speaker 6: All right, we're having fun, good stuff.
- 24:26Speaker 3: So the Trent Brown thing you brought up real quick,
- 24:29Speaker 3: would you guys think of that? There are two parts
- 24:32Speaker 3: of it.
- 24:33Speaker 1: I agree.
- 24:33Speaker 3: There was the I mean death in the family, which
- 24:36Speaker 3: you know, and that's why I didn't hold the personal
- 24:38Speaker 3: stuff said last week, I don't know what that is.
- 24:41Speaker 6: A high end a low ankle sprain which stood out
- 24:43Speaker 6: to me and I'm like, so is he healthy?
- 24:45Speaker 3: Is he able to go? He said, m c l sprain.
- 24:48Speaker 3: I didn't see that one too. I saw, I saw
- 24:50Speaker 3: knee and ankle. Yeah, well we knew that before. But
- 24:53Speaker 3: I was talking more like how much exception you took
- 24:56Speaker 3: to the report that he was late, and then said
- 24:59Speaker 3: when I late, I'm a grown man and if I
- 25:02Speaker 3: have to go to the bathroom, then you were late right,
- 25:04Speaker 3: taking like I'm.
- 25:06Speaker 1: Either going to the bathroom or I'm getting something for
- 25:08Speaker 1: the training room.
- 25:09Speaker 3: Like great, you weren't at the Bahamas when the meeting
- 25:12Speaker 3: was going on. But you weren't in the meeting.
- 25:13Speaker 6: Right, I I got to be honest, Am, I miss am,
- 25:16Speaker 6: I just misroom. I don't remember him, like, at least
- 25:18Speaker 6: as far as what we talked about. I remember him
- 25:20Speaker 6: getting looped into that. I thought we just kind of
- 25:22Speaker 6: avoided personal issue. I don't remember remember looping him into
- 25:25Speaker 6: the he was anything or anything like that.
- 25:27Speaker 3: I try, I know, like, I'm really snarky, and I
- 25:29Speaker 3: get like why people make fun of me and stuff
- 25:32Speaker 3: don't like him. When there's a personal thing that I
- 25:34Speaker 3: don't know anything about, I stay away from it because
- 25:38Speaker 3: I think personal things can be a guy doesn't feel
- 25:40Speaker 3: like playing, but a personal thing can be very serious, right,
- 25:43Speaker 3: And when I don't know it, I try really hard
- 25:46Speaker 3: to stay away from it. And he said his uncle
- 25:48Speaker 3: passed away. His uncle, Like that's a that's a significant issue.
- 25:51Speaker 6: But who was looping him into the your late crowd?
- 25:53Speaker 3: I mean, I know, oh Albert bre Report that said
- 25:56Speaker 3: he's habitually late. And I don't think he did anything
- 25:59Speaker 3: to his credit that other than say I was poopy.
- 26:02Speaker 3: I'm mad about that. Yeah, Well, the BS rhetoric, right, right,
- 26:07Speaker 3: I think that was the phrase that he used. But
- 26:09Speaker 3: then when he explained it. You kind of explained that
- 26:11Speaker 3: he's been late. Now maybe it's not habitually, maybe he
- 26:15Speaker 3: has a problem. Maybe maybe maybe he asked, you know, teacher,
- 26:19Speaker 3: can I go?
- 26:19Speaker 1: Can I give the wooden pass?
- 26:24Speaker 3: And the teacher looks at you, it says yeah.
- 26:27Speaker 5: The hall monitors like making sure you have the pass?
- 26:30Speaker 5: You know, yeah, maybe, but I didn't.
- 26:34Speaker 3: Just curious how you guys felt about the trend. And
- 26:37Speaker 3: I admit I have a little bit of a bias there.
- 26:39Speaker 6: I mean, the biggest thing to me was just the injuries.
- 26:42Speaker 6: I mean those sounds significant. A high ankle screen, a
- 26:44Speaker 6: low ankles praying. Now you're telling me an mcl like,
- 26:46Speaker 6: how is he going to be able to play this weekend?
- 26:47Speaker 3: I don't think he should play the rest of the season.
- 26:50Speaker 5: Like, I just think that he's one of those guys
- 26:52Speaker 5: that I'm with Paul on this now because I've defended
- 26:55Speaker 5: him on the field. He's been good when he's been
- 26:57Speaker 5: healthy and he's been playing this year, he's been a
- 26:59Speaker 5: good player for them. I actually agreed with that part
- 27:01Speaker 5: of his quote. Not a high bar, but he has
- 27:04Speaker 5: probably been their best offensive player when he's been on
- 27:07Speaker 5: the field.
- 27:08Speaker 3: Did I say that yeah he said that about I
- 27:11Speaker 3: missed that he said that about himself. Yeah, yeah, put yeah,
- 27:16Speaker 3: But but I agree with him.
- 27:18Speaker 5: But at the same time, I it's just an example
- 27:21Speaker 5: of one of those guys that it's just not good culture. Like,
- 27:24Speaker 5: it's just not it's not what you're You can't build
- 27:27Speaker 5: a team particularly like that.
- 27:28Speaker 3: How would you felt if Tom Brady said, you know,
- 27:31Speaker 3: I've been the best offensive player in the team this year, right, true?
- 27:34Speaker 3: But no, no kidding, but like, would you feel good
- 27:37Speaker 3: about like listening to that? Yeah, who says that about themselves?
- 27:42Speaker 3: I mean show but I mean it's obvious.
- 27:44Speaker 1: Well, you know Breer. I heard Brear this morning when
- 27:47Speaker 1: he was talking about this whole thing. He's not backing down,
- 27:49Speaker 1: and he said that, you know, back in the day
- 27:52Speaker 1: when Brady was here, he got to interview Belichick at
- 27:55Speaker 1: length and he said, what does it mean, you know,
- 27:57Speaker 1: when your best player is the guy setting the tone?
- 28:01Speaker 1: You know along those lines in belichip pause and he said,
- 28:04Speaker 1: that's exactly what you're looking for, you know, So in
- 28:08Speaker 1: this case, you could make the argument that he is
- 28:10Speaker 1: their best offensive player and.
- 28:12Speaker 3: That's the tone.
- 28:15Speaker 1: You know.
- 28:15Speaker 6: I think we probably just for the best of the
- 28:17Speaker 6: team is to get out of this kind of cycle
- 28:19Speaker 6: with him and move on with some like you know,
- 28:22Speaker 6: the third overall pick in the draft, left tackle, I'll come.
- 28:26Speaker 1: Over, Patrious Nation is about to attack.
- 28:29Speaker 3: You, but likes the other guy. I heard he likes
- 28:33Speaker 3: the other tackle. I think they're different. I meant to
- 28:36Speaker 3: see if I could get them kicked.
- 28:38Speaker 5: Joe Alt is like your prototypical tackle. Shani is like
- 28:43Speaker 5: the athletic freak.
- 28:44Speaker 3: You know, he's so so many choices.
- 28:46Speaker 5: Yeah, if you're if you're looking for more of that,
- 28:48Speaker 5: like you know, outside zone Shanahan type stuff than I
- 28:51Speaker 5: think for Shani was probably better. But if you're looking
- 28:54Speaker 5: for that old school greater if you can get four.
- 29:01Speaker 3: If you get stuck dropping down to four or worse,
- 29:04Speaker 3: and they can get a trade down, you can't take
- 29:06Speaker 3: a tackle at four.
- 29:07Speaker 5: I think that we were talking about this on catch
- 29:09Speaker 5: twenty two. You know, me and Barthur are are both
- 29:14Speaker 5: I think in the Joel camp.
- 29:18Speaker 3: Assuming that's fortunate, I got nothing to the.
- 29:22Speaker 5: Assuming that you can't get the quarterback obviously, like the
- 29:25Speaker 5: quarterback is number one, forevery no not you you want
- 29:28Speaker 5: the tackle, don't lie. But if you can't get because
- 29:32Speaker 5: My My whole thing is is like, all right, Marvin
- 29:34Speaker 5: Harrison Junior is this great talent, but if you don't
- 29:36Speaker 5: have a quarterback that can throw them the ball and
- 29:38Speaker 5: the quarterbacks on his ass the entire game, then what
- 29:40Speaker 5: good is it that the receivers wide open down the field.
- 29:43Speaker 5: So I look at like Garrett Wilson just getting wasted
- 29:47Speaker 5: with the Jets because they have both of those things.
- 29:49Speaker 5: They have no pass protection, they have no quarterback. So
- 29:53Speaker 5: as great as Marvin Harrison junr Is, I I think
- 29:56Speaker 5: that it makes more sense to probably build up the line.
- 29:58Speaker 3: Yeah, it does at all. On do you really think
- 30:01Speaker 3: Garrett Wilson would be wasted with that offensive line if
- 30:03Speaker 3: Aaron Rodgers didn't get hurt? No, But but Garrett Wilson's
- 30:06Speaker 3: had some good games even with Zach Wilsons.
- 30:08Speaker 5: Right, But if you're assuming that they're not, they can't
- 30:11Speaker 5: get one of the quarterbacks, and so you're you whoever
- 30:15Speaker 5: is starting at quarterback for you next year, whether it's
- 30:17Speaker 5: Mac Jones or it's Jaden Daniels, it's it's gonna be
- 30:20Speaker 5: a guy that has flaws.
- 30:22Speaker 3: Then I'm gonna I'm gonna stun you. I'm gonna defend Mac.
- 30:27Speaker 3: I think Mac would Garrett Wilson would have had a
- 30:30Speaker 3: terrific year this year on the Patriots with even even
- 30:33Speaker 3: with the Patriots offensive line in Mac. I think when
- 30:37Speaker 3: you're that good and you get open that quick fund,
- 30:39Speaker 3: now Zach Wilson hasn't been able to consistently.
- 30:41Speaker 1: Do it if they have one, If they had, if
- 30:43Speaker 1: the Patriots had, this is what I hear you saying, Paul,
- 30:46Speaker 1: if the Patriots had one guy who had a terrific
- 30:49Speaker 1: year at that position, they would have won a few
- 30:51Speaker 1: more games than they'd won.
- 30:52Speaker 3: I agree, they'd be four and six.
- 30:55Speaker 1: It's a couple of games.
- 30:56Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, they'd be out of it, but they would
- 30:58Speaker 3: be better. I agree. Yeah, I don't think it's all Mac.
- 31:02Speaker 3: I've never said it's all Mac. I think I'm done
- 31:05Speaker 3: with that because I think that you kind of are
- 31:07Speaker 3: what you are. But that's that's sake. If you had
- 31:10Speaker 3: better players, you'd have a better record.
- 31:11Speaker 6: Yeah, And that's part of the intrigue to me of Zappy.
- 31:13Speaker 6: Of not that I think he's the answer, but just
- 31:16Speaker 6: what does it look like? What does his energy bring
- 31:18Speaker 6: to this team?
- 31:18Speaker 1: You know, what?
- 31:19Speaker 3: Like, just how does it unfold?
- 31:20Speaker 6: Is it exactly the same as he you know, just
- 31:22Speaker 6: missing guys and and and it's another disaster find But
- 31:25Speaker 6: I just we spend so much time trying to like
- 31:27Speaker 6: this part's of the offensive line. This is the lack
- 31:29Speaker 6: of weapons, This is the offensive corn, you know, divvying
- 31:32Speaker 6: up all the blame.
- 31:33Speaker 3: Just see what it looks like with a different quarterback.
- 31:35Speaker 1: So what if what if he comes in and he's
- 31:37Speaker 1: not good?
- 31:38Speaker 3: Yeah, that's probably what will happened. Who's zappy? Yeah he
- 31:40Speaker 3: won't be. What's the difference, Well, you don't know that,
- 31:43Speaker 3: but like, what's the difference at least you know, what
- 31:45Speaker 3: do you go back to mac like for competition for
- 31:48Speaker 3: the rest of this year?
- 31:49Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 31:49Speaker 3: Who cares?
- 31:51Speaker 1: Just but what do you do?
- 31:52Speaker 3: I would play greer to find out about him?
- 31:54Speaker 1: Yeah, Like, yeah, Devin mccordy thinks we're going to What.
- 31:59Speaker 6: Is he's talking about?
- 32:00Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 32:01Speaker 3: I was just talking to Paul and like the will
- 32:04Speaker 3: almost a zero percent chance of him starting this week, Like.
- 32:06Speaker 6: The will Grill Illuminati, Like they're like, we know things
- 32:09Speaker 6: that no one else knows.
- 32:10Speaker 1: It's like a secret practice that they're having that they're
- 32:12Speaker 1: getting him ready.
- 32:13Speaker 3: It was like fine at West Virginia.
- 32:17Speaker 1: I just.
- 32:20Speaker 5: I think Paul said it earlier. You know right now
- 32:25Speaker 5: that Mac Jones is a broken player. You know, he's broken,
- 32:29Speaker 5: and putting him out there in this game, I think
- 32:32Speaker 5: is just a recipe for him to be an absolute disaster,
- 32:36Speaker 5: which does that doesn't help you win a football game
- 32:39Speaker 5: if that's what you're interested in, and it doesn't help
- 32:41Speaker 5: Mac Jones and his you know, long term future. I've
- 32:45Speaker 5: kind of come around on just seeing what Bailey Zappi
- 32:47Speaker 5: can do, but I and more, I really just feel
- 32:49Speaker 5: like it just is not a good spot to put
- 32:52Speaker 5: Mac Jones back in. Like I just he's not going
- 32:55Speaker 5: to play well in this anything.
- 32:58Speaker 3: Like we all, I mean, I know would putwards them.
- 33:01Speaker 3: I can't because you picked the other thing, you picked
- 33:03Speaker 3: the other way. I think this is a game they're
- 33:06Speaker 3: gonna win. I still think that. I know it's kind
- 33:08Speaker 3: of silly. Do you think there's anything to the fact
- 33:11Speaker 3: that maybe he's looking at us like we're gonna beat
- 33:13Speaker 3: the Giants?
- 33:13Speaker 1: I mean gets the credit.
- 33:16Speaker 3: Yes, we're gonna win this game. I know that's like that.
- 33:20Speaker 1: I know it was.
- 33:23Speaker 5: I know it was only one game, but they turned
- 33:25Speaker 5: Sam Howe over six times last week and if you
- 33:28Speaker 5: put the guy that literally is broken in a game
- 33:32Speaker 5: against a defense that just for six turnovers, Like, I
- 33:35Speaker 5: don't understand how that's gonna be good.
- 33:36Speaker 1: I know, but Paul's right. If somehow they win and
- 33:39Speaker 1: Zappi is the quarterback, that's it for Mac for the season, Like,
- 33:42Speaker 1: it makes.
- 33:42Speaker 3: It really hard to go back on. Yeah, I agree
- 33:47Speaker 3: with that, but you know, the Garrett Wilson thing, I
- 33:49Speaker 3: was a little surprised that Evan didn't push back on.
- 33:51Speaker 3: I was kind of anticipating I will say. What I
- 33:53Speaker 3: thought you were going to say is that, you know,
- 33:56Speaker 3: the Patriots problems sort of developing wide receivers might make
- 33:59Speaker 3: that different is a strong word, but.
- 34:04Speaker 5: This so I don't have If we were talking about
- 34:08Speaker 5: like the next tier of receivers like Roma Dunes from
- 34:11Speaker 5: from Washington or something like that, I'd be with. I
- 34:14Speaker 5: think Marvin Harrison junr Is like you literally can't break him,
- 34:17Speaker 5: Like he's oh no, I was just talking a yeah yeah,
- 34:21Speaker 5: Like I like, so when it comes to evaluating, like
- 34:23Speaker 5: if they should take Marvin Harrison Junior, he's so good
- 34:26Speaker 5: that I don't like, I don't care who you give
- 34:28Speaker 5: him to. He's gonna be fine, But I just if
- 34:32Speaker 5: you can't, if the quarterback can't throw the ball to
- 34:34Speaker 5: him and the offensive line can't protect the quarterback, you're like, again,
- 34:37Speaker 5: you're just gonna have this receiver down the field standing there,
- 34:40Speaker 5: and then he's gonna get frustrated and he's gonna TCHU.
- 34:44Speaker 1: Right right. Has there ever been a case of a team,
- 34:50Speaker 1: you know, drafting a guy high and then immediately trading
- 34:54Speaker 1: him for an existing player that they wanted, Like, for example,
- 34:59Speaker 1: let's say the Patriots drafted Marvin Harrison.
- 35:01Speaker 3: Has a first round pick ever been traded without playing
- 35:04Speaker 3: a game for that team?
- 35:05Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 35:05Speaker 3: Like beyond like a Eli Manning kind of dispute. Yeah,
- 35:08Speaker 3: not that I'm aware of, But that doesn't mean.
- 35:10Speaker 1: Like, like, what if the Patriots, you know, drafted Marvin
- 35:14Speaker 1: Harrison and then traded him to the forty nine ers
- 35:16Speaker 1: for Brock Purty and Deebo Samuel I just.
- 35:20Speaker 3: Love First of all, Evan would quit because he hates
- 35:24Speaker 3: brock Purty. I have no interest in that trick, like you.
- 35:28Speaker 6: I don't think so, because when you just trade the picks,
- 35:30Speaker 6: if that was you know, I mean, unless how would
- 35:32Speaker 6: it all come together?
- 35:33Speaker 9: You know?
- 35:33Speaker 6: Like if they're like whoa, we really want this guy? Well,
- 35:36Speaker 6: then just come take the pick and let's swat.
- 35:38Speaker 1: I guess yeah, but he.
- 35:40Speaker 3: Was Brock Purty and Deebo Samuel for the pick.
- 35:42Speaker 5: Like the Deebo Samuel part of it makes it a
- 35:44Speaker 5: little bit more intriguing, but the rock party part of
- 35:47Speaker 5: it I can't get over. So the answer is here,
- 35:51Speaker 5: Brock perty Is I say it. He literally has the
- 35:54Speaker 5: easiest job in the NFL. I know, just just just
- 35:58Speaker 5: throw the ball where it's supposed to be thrown.
- 36:01Speaker 1: That's it. That's not that easy in the NFL. I
- 36:03Speaker 1: would I give him credit for smarts.
- 36:05Speaker 3: I would absolutely give him credit for his play too.
- 36:07Speaker 3: I mean, I'm not lost in saying he should be
- 36:10Speaker 3: like an m v P or anything silly. I mean,
- 36:12Speaker 3: he's like who went on the list. But but I
- 36:15Speaker 3: do think that I've watched that offense play and I
- 36:19Speaker 3: think this is as productive as it's been since he
- 36:21Speaker 3: took over.
- 36:22Speaker 6: Do you think they had any idea that he was
- 36:24Speaker 6: just going to be able to play like this for them?
- 36:26Speaker 3: Like, I mean, it's just just a complete shot.
- 36:27Speaker 5: But because play like what I know, watch it, like,
- 36:31Speaker 5: I just it's so god like. He's just he's throwing
- 36:38Speaker 5: to wide open.
- 36:39Speaker 3: People like I, I don't understand.
- 36:42Speaker 1: I think you're exaggerated.
- 36:44Speaker 3: Did you did you see how wide opened?
- 36:47Speaker 1: What happens?
- 36:49Speaker 3: What do you mean it happened?
- 36:50Speaker 1: I mean Peate Manning didn't get you know, uh, black
- 36:54Speaker 1: marks because he was thrown to open you know, Marvin
- 36:57Speaker 1: Harrison Senior or first of all he.
- 36:59Speaker 3: Did around here. But the people, the excluding you who
- 37:04Speaker 3: dubbed him nas.
- 37:05Speaker 1: Yeahod noodle arm. But but no, we all know that
- 37:10Speaker 1: it's more than penis head.
- 37:13Speaker 5: I wonder how hard it is to make that three
- 37:15Speaker 5: yard throw in the flat to George Kittle and that really.
- 37:21Speaker 3: You can't okay, I mean it's high comedy.
- 37:23Speaker 1: I love it.
- 37:23Speaker 3: I'm here, as you said yesterday, I'm here for it.
- 37:26Speaker 5: So Jimmy, it must be terrible then, yes, Jimmy has
- 37:30Speaker 5: always been terrible like this is not He hasn't the
- 37:34Speaker 5: Shrine of Shanahan.
- 37:35Speaker 1: I mean, what's his record. He's got a pretty good record, right,
- 37:38Speaker 1: Jimmy Garoppolo, Well.
- 37:39Speaker 3: Yeah, Lance gotta be kicking quarterback. It's just like, yeah,
- 37:45Speaker 3: I'm talking about the production has been infinitely better since
- 37:49Speaker 3: Perty took over than it was. Jimmy the wins and
- 37:52Speaker 3: losses are similar. But Jim Jimmy didn't have Christian McCaffrey.
- 37:55Speaker 3: That's true, fair enough, different had all the rest.
- 37:59Speaker 1: He's a running who makes a difference, Paul, he is
- 38:02Speaker 1: the only one in the league. Oh, don't give me that.
- 38:04Speaker 1: Come on, you've got you have to acknowledge his greatness.
- 38:09Speaker 5: I mean, did you see the touchdown pass that the
- 38:11Speaker 5: great the dime that dropped that brock pretty dropped the
- 38:14Speaker 5: Christian McCaffrey. There was nobody within ten yards of him.
- 38:18Speaker 5: I can't believe he made that throw. That was incredible
- 38:21Speaker 5: to me.
- 38:21Speaker 3: Guy was just important. You thinks there'll be someone narrow him?
- 38:23Speaker 1: Who's calling off the place at the line, Bradford, all right,
- 38:27Speaker 1: eighty five to five past five hundred is the ace
- 38:29Speaker 1: ticket hout line. Let's get to the phones because we
- 38:32Speaker 1: got a hurry today. Eric's in New Jersey.
- 38:35Speaker 3: What's up?
- 38:35Speaker 1: Eric?
- 38:36Speaker 10: Hey?
- 38:37Speaker 9: Tew you guys doing happy Thanksgiving?
- 38:38Speaker 3: Guys too, thanks.
- 38:40Speaker 9: I just really want to talk not really about pictures,
- 38:42Speaker 9: but this bigger picture with the NFL and the product.
- 38:45Speaker 9: I think you guys are talking about it yesterday, but
- 38:47Speaker 9: just some of the fines that you know, even you've
- 38:49Speaker 9: seen Josh Josh Allen find you know, ten thousand just
- 38:53Speaker 9: for pointing, you know, Josh Jacobs, you know, just Lauren
- 38:55Speaker 9: has helped me.
- 38:57Speaker 10: It's just what is this?
- 38:58Speaker 9: What is this the product that it's I mean, the
- 39:00Speaker 9: quarterbacks already overprotected. I understand that, you know, these guys
- 39:03Speaker 9: are high paid, but they're how much more can you
- 39:06Speaker 9: protect the quarterback overall this league? It's just what is
- 39:09Speaker 9: this product? And you know, what is it looking forward
- 39:12Speaker 9: in the next ten to fifteen years, because it's just
- 39:14Speaker 9: continuously and continuously just kind of and I hate to
- 39:17Speaker 9: say the word soft. You know, these are real men
- 39:19Speaker 9: out here playing, but it's just I feel like there's
- 39:20Speaker 9: no scar tissue mentally built up physically and mentally, you
- 39:24Speaker 9: know some of these quarterback and I have to take
- 39:25Speaker 9: that off the line.
- 39:26Speaker 1: Thanks guys and have that okay? Thanks Eric?
- 39:29Speaker 3: I was confused.
- 39:30Speaker 11: I don't know.
- 39:30Speaker 4: I saw a mac Wilson find from last week which
- 39:33Speaker 4: was like, like how far do you go in the
- 39:36Speaker 4: name of safety?
- 39:36Speaker 3: But like what I mean he said, like Josh Allen
- 39:40Speaker 3: got fined for pointing at a guy. How soft are we?
- 39:42Speaker 3: And then he was like how much more are we
- 39:43Speaker 3: going to protect? The quarterbacks, Like I didn't think those
- 39:45Speaker 3: two things.
- 39:45Speaker 1: Well, well, no, I think he's lumping everything together.
- 39:47Speaker 3: But you know, there's gonna be injuries.
- 39:50Speaker 5: And now they're talking about banning the hip drop tackle,
- 39:52Speaker 5: which like is honestly, like that's a fabrication, like a hit.
- 39:56Speaker 5: The whole hip drop tackle thing is like a Twitter
- 39:59Speaker 5: creation hockey check is when So basically they the thing
- 40:04Speaker 5: is the NFL. They they wanted people to get the
- 40:07Speaker 5: head out of the tackle right right, So they taught
- 40:09Speaker 5: people to rap and then like roll, rap and roll.
- 40:13Speaker 5: That's like the kind of the catchphrase. So if you're
- 40:15Speaker 5: asking people to grab onto guys and then like roll
- 40:19Speaker 5: down to like bring them down but on their legs,
- 40:21Speaker 5: isn't that just naturally dropping your hips?
- 40:24Speaker 3: So like it's ridiculous. I don't know how you legislated
- 40:27Speaker 3: it this way, like this is what you asked for
- 40:29Speaker 3: and are immage by the way some of the adjustments
- 40:32Speaker 3: that the league made. We always criticized the league. Some
- 40:34Speaker 3: of the things that they did to try to do
- 40:36Speaker 3: their best to get the head out was smart. Yeah,
- 40:39Speaker 3: they they did. I think they they have helped a
- 40:41Speaker 3: little bit with player safety, but I agree one thousand
- 40:44Speaker 3: percent with Evan and I threw a rant about it
- 40:47Speaker 3: in the notes this week. I think back to like
- 40:50Speaker 3: the Seattle like videos that Pete Carroll was credited with
- 40:54Speaker 3: with the rugby style tackle, that's what this is. It's
- 40:56Speaker 3: more or less the hip drop tackle. Now they used
- 40:59Speaker 3: to show videos with the head to the side. You're
- 41:02Speaker 3: hitting with your shoulders, the lead contact in the mid section,
- 41:05Speaker 3: and you're rolling to get the guy under the ground.
- 41:09Speaker 3: You can't grab him by the back. That's a horse caller.
- 41:12Speaker 3: You can't hit him in the head right right, that's obvious.
- 41:15Speaker 3: The players themselves don't like hitting or getting hit in
- 41:19Speaker 3: the knees right for obvious reasons. Where else are you
- 41:23Speaker 3: supposed to go.
- 41:24Speaker 5: If you're at especially if you're if you're trailing, like
- 41:28Speaker 5: Logan Wilson was on Mark Andrews.
- 41:30Speaker 3: If the role tackle Adam Vinity tackle of Herschel Walker
- 41:35Speaker 3: under question.
- 41:36Speaker 5: The role tackle works if you're head on right, if
- 41:39Speaker 5: you're coming downhill at a player and tackling him. But
- 41:42Speaker 5: Logan Wilson was behind Mark Andrews and is chasing him,
- 41:45Speaker 5: so he grabs onto him and then like sits down
- 41:48Speaker 5: in his chair and drops his hips and he ends
- 41:50Speaker 5: up falling on Mark Andrews's ankle, and that's like what
- 41:53Speaker 5: everybody's all up in arms about.
- 41:55Speaker 3: But I don't.
- 41:56Speaker 1: They don't want guys falling backwards.
- 41:58Speaker 3: You know, And it's like, how do you don't want
- 42:01Speaker 3: guys to get tackled? And I get it, you know,
- 42:04Speaker 3: these injuries stink. That's the number one takeaway for me
- 42:07Speaker 3: from watching the whole the whole weekend slate of games
- 42:09Speaker 3: is how many really important guys to teams are lost,
- 42:13Speaker 3: either for the season or for significant chunks. It stinks.
- 42:16Speaker 3: I get it. But it's life. It happens every year,
- 42:19Speaker 3: and it's going to continue to happen unless you make
- 42:21Speaker 3: it flag football, which I think is coming. I mean,
- 42:24Speaker 3: I've been kind of overwhelmed by them in the money
- 42:27Speaker 3: on Twitter.
- 42:28Speaker 6: Twitter, you see every Monday it's all these fines come
- 42:30Speaker 6: out and I Josh Jacobs is I don't eight nine
- 42:33Speaker 6: times for lowering his head into the like.
- 42:35Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't have a problem with with the fines.
- 42:38Speaker 3: I have a problem with banning. Yeah, thank you guys.
- 42:42Speaker 3: Can we clip that? Yes? I have a problem with
- 42:46Speaker 3: the band.
- 42:46Speaker 1: What are you gonna drink after lunch?
- 42:47Speaker 3: Why don't you shut that was on called for him.
- 42:53Speaker 1: That's a good response that what I would say, what
- 42:54Speaker 1: a little hat shut? That put all right? Lots more
- 42:59Speaker 1: to do. Uh All's foods here and it's about half

- 44:12Speaker 11: I'm gonna open up with some trivia. Yep, don't answer it,
- 44:16Speaker 11: and we'll go from there.
- 44:17Speaker 1: All right.
- 44:18Speaker 11: Question one, and I don't know.
- 44:20Speaker 3: This might be for a T shirt, a poster. I
- 44:22Speaker 3: don't know.
- 44:22Speaker 11: We'll see what happens. You're gonna get something. So question one,
- 44:26Speaker 11: who recovered the butt fumble and scored the touchdown?
- 44:30Speaker 8: All right?
- 44:31Speaker 11: Question two? What year did the Lions first play on Thanksgiving?
- 44:36Speaker 8: Good?
- 44:36Speaker 3: Question?
- 44:36Speaker 11: Question three?
- 44:37Speaker 1: How many times have.
- 44:38Speaker 11: The Patriots hosted a Thanksgiving game?
- 44:42Speaker 3: Yep?
- 44:43Speaker 11: And faith? That is pretty much the topic of the
- 44:46Speaker 11: day because Thanksgiving is this week. This is gonna go
- 44:50Speaker 11: this Wednesday, so a little early, but happy Thanksgiving. So
- 44:53Speaker 11: we're gonna do something a little different because the schedule
- 44:56Speaker 11: is a little different this year. Yes, we are going
- 44:58Speaker 11: to discuss the three Thanksgiving games, which are faith freedom
- 45:02Speaker 11: to me.
- 45:03Speaker 8: We've got Packers Lions at twelve thirty, Commanders Cowboys at
- 45:06Speaker 8: four thirty and forty nine Ers Seahawks at eight to twenty.
- 45:09Speaker 11: And then what we're really going to deep dive into
- 45:12Speaker 11: is the first ever Black Friday game.
- 45:15Speaker 8: Yeah, which is Dolphins Jets is at Jets.
- 45:19Speaker 11: It is at Jets at Jets, which is all right,
- 45:21Speaker 11: So let's let's start with the Thanksgiving games and faith.
- 45:24Speaker 11: You know, I have some years on you, and this
- 45:27Speaker 11: is the first Thanksgiving game i'm excited for because for
- 45:31Speaker 11: my thirty years of resistance, the Lions have been awful
- 45:33Speaker 11: to watch on Thanksgiving. It's been it's been miserable. It's
- 45:37Speaker 11: not fun, and I just feel bad for them, and
- 45:41Speaker 11: I'm excited. They are a good team.
- 45:43Speaker 3: They're eight and too.
- 45:44Speaker 11: They're eight and two. They just had a crazy divisional
- 45:46Speaker 11: game against the Bears and where they came back and
- 45:49Speaker 11: for the past god knows how many years, the lines
- 45:52Speaker 11: lose that game ten out of ten times, and.
- 45:55Speaker 8: Now they're favored by seven point favored by seven.
- 45:57Speaker 11: Yeah, and they're a good team and the Packers are
- 46:01Speaker 11: figuring out life post.
- 46:02Speaker 3: Aaron Rodgers seems relatable.
- 46:05Speaker 11: And of course, now that I'm saying this, it's gonna
- 46:07Speaker 11: be an absolute stinker, like fourteen to ten. But I
- 46:11Speaker 11: think we got some magic here. I think so. I
- 46:13Speaker 11: think that defense is legit. They have a running back
- 46:17Speaker 11: room that's crazy right now. And I think the Lions
- 46:21Speaker 11: are gonna do it. They're gonna win, and they they
- 46:23Speaker 11: they they might be a sneaky super Bowl paper for
- 46:28Speaker 11: we are. Oh yeah, I'm drinking the Lions kool aid.
- 46:31Speaker 8: You have drank the kool aid. No, But I think
- 46:33Speaker 8: it's gonna be a great game. And I mean just
- 46:35Speaker 8: I think I hope it's a high scoring matchup. I know,
- 46:38Speaker 8: you know Ford Field, that's gonna be rocking to host
- 46:41Speaker 8: that they deserve it like that it's gonna and just
- 46:43Speaker 8: to be excited about their team this year, top of
- 46:46Speaker 8: the AFS, the NFC North. I think that's just gonna
- 46:48Speaker 8: be an exciting So do.
- 46:49Speaker 11: You have to have the lines winning?
- 46:50Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 46:51Speaker 11: Yeah, the lines I'm not crazy. So guys, we're not
- 46:53Speaker 11: gonna do score predictions for this. We're gonna go a
- 46:55Speaker 11: bit into the Black Friday games. That's the main topic.
- 46:58Speaker 11: So let's touch on the second game, which is, you know,
- 47:00Speaker 11: usually when the turkey hits the table. We got we
- 47:03Speaker 11: got commanders at Dallas. Yes, Dallas has been under the radar.
- 47:07Speaker 8: I mean there's seven and three.
- 47:08Speaker 11: Commanders are four and seven and they have that cornerback
- 47:11Speaker 11: Bland who's scoring more touchdowns than half the receivers in
- 47:14Speaker 11: the league. Yes, pick sixes Washington, you know they it's
- 47:18Speaker 11: interesting because they kind of fire did a fire sale
- 47:21Speaker 11: on trade deadline day. But they just show up in
- 47:25Speaker 11: these divisional games. I mean, evenf they lose, it's like.
- 47:28Speaker 8: And be a close game, like like you said, usually
- 47:30Speaker 8: the foods hitting the table. So we'll see how much
- 47:32Speaker 8: of this we actually get to watch. But I think
- 47:35Speaker 8: it'll be close. The divisional games are always tight. But
- 47:38Speaker 8: I think Deck's really trying to prove himself this year,
- 47:41Speaker 8: especially after just like all of the pressure and hate
- 47:45Speaker 8: that he's gotten over the past few years. So I
- 47:47Speaker 8: think it's gonna be competitive. But I don't see the
- 47:50Speaker 8: Cowboys not winning.
- 47:51Speaker 11: I see the Cowboys winning, and we're looking ahead because
- 47:53Speaker 11: you know, we're at the point now when you get
- 47:54Speaker 11: to the commercial break, it's has in the hunt graphic
- 47:57Speaker 11: and the playoff picture. Yeah, and I meanys are gonna
- 48:00Speaker 11: make the playoffs, but they're probably gonna lose the first round.
- 48:03Speaker 11: So then we got we got the night game. This
- 48:05Speaker 11: is where this is the food coma game.
- 48:07Speaker 8: Yeah, this isn't the game where you're kind of in
- 48:08Speaker 8: and out of sleep. You know, you're kind of dozing
- 48:11Speaker 8: off a little bit more.
- 48:12Speaker 11: We got we got forty nine ers at Seattle.
- 48:15Speaker 8: This is gonna be this. I'm honestly most excited for
- 48:17Speaker 8: this game because of how close the team's records are.
- 48:20Speaker 8: You've got seven and three forty nine Ers the six
- 48:22Speaker 8: and four Seahawks, Like, I just see this being a
- 48:24Speaker 8: very close matchup.
- 48:25Speaker 11: And so it's interesting because I actually watched that most
- 48:29Speaker 11: of that Seattle game, and I mean, they lost the
- 48:31Speaker 11: gimme field goal and they probably should have just won.
- 48:33Speaker 11: But I think the forty nine ers just got through
- 48:37Speaker 11: the hump they were in and I think they're they're
- 48:39Speaker 11: full go.
- 48:40Speaker 8: They are, and so I feel like this is a
- 48:42Speaker 8: huge test for the Seahawks. Obviously, I feel like they've
- 48:44Speaker 8: been trying to prove themselves all year. But I mean
- 48:47Speaker 8: they're six and four, like they're right there, and I think.
- 48:50Speaker 11: Seattle wins is just that home field advantage. But I
- 48:52Speaker 11: do think the forty nine Ers pulled off, which makes
- 48:56Speaker 11: it interesting because we could tie back to the first game.
- 48:58Speaker 11: We got some home field advantage situations with the Lions
- 49:02Speaker 11: and the forty nine ers.
- 49:03Speaker 8: So we're picking the home team, are you picking the.
- 49:06Speaker 11: I'm picking the forty Dinars to win that, okay, but
- 49:08Speaker 11: the Seahawks win, it's because the home field advantage.
- 49:11Speaker 8: That's fair. So like to travel that far though.
- 49:14Speaker 11: Yeah, and that's the divisional game. But I think perty
- 49:16Speaker 11: Perty's got it unlocked. They're healthy again, they got Chase Debo.
- 49:21Speaker 8: Both watching Chase Young and Nick Boon round the corner
- 49:24Speaker 8: on quarterbacks, that's got to be horrifying, all right.
- 49:27Speaker 11: So I was given the good to go, But you
- 49:28Speaker 11: know what I really want to touch on the Black
- 49:30Speaker 11: Friday game real quick. So we got Miami at New York.
- 49:33Speaker 11: Obviously Miami's gonna win this, but the talk of this
- 49:36Speaker 11: game isn't isn't the game itself. It's my new York
- 49:40Speaker 11: made the quarterback change. They did it, and they put
- 49:43Speaker 11: Zach at third string. I think they get blown out.
- 49:47Speaker 11: Tim Boyle not an NFL quarterback. I saw something that
- 49:50Speaker 11: he's just a Aaron Rodgers buddy. Yeah, and it's uh,
- 49:54Speaker 11: you know he's.
- 49:54Speaker 8: The only quarterback though to beat the Eagles or beat
- 49:57Speaker 8: you know, James.
- 49:58Speaker 11: Yeah, so well, I think I think that's a blowout.
- 50:02Speaker 11: I think Miami's just gotta stay healthy. I'll say for
- 50:07Speaker 11: that one, Miami wins like thirty four to ten.
- 50:11Speaker 3: Matchup.
- 50:11Speaker 11: Love it if you're Miami, get out of that met
- 50:14Speaker 11: life turf. Get the win and get out, stay healthy.
- 50:18Speaker 11: Shout and shout out to the league, because you know,
- 50:20Speaker 11: I'll never complain about more football. So football on a Friday,
- 50:23Speaker 11: it's pretty chill day. You know, you can drown your
- 50:26Speaker 11: your shopping pain. If you gamble. You can gamble your
- 50:29Speaker 11: money to go spend stuff on Black Friday deals. So faith,
- 50:33Speaker 11: who do you have on that? Miami too?
- 50:34Speaker 1: Oh yeah?
- 50:35Speaker 11: Perfect? All right, guys, send your trivia answers in a
- 50:38Speaker 11: web radio Patris dot com and have a great Thanksgiving.
- 50:41Speaker 1: We'll be back next week.
- 50:42Speaker 11: More halftime show.
- 50:45Speaker 13: When someone accidentally threw the school play costumes. Oh no,
- 50:50Speaker 13: replacements were shipped with FedEx and with picture proof of delivery,
- 50:53Speaker 13: everyone can focus on the perfect opening night FedEx where
- 50:57Speaker 13: now it's next for residential delivery only.
- 51:02Speaker 3: And now great moments in.
- 51:06Speaker 1: History.
- 51:07Speaker 3: Oh yeah, this turkey's every lettle.
- 51:08Speaker 1: They have them in the hills of north Brook.
- 51:10Speaker 3: Can't You can't find a turkey.
- 51:12Speaker 11: You're not a good hunter.
- 51:13Speaker 3: You need to s Oh yeah, that's all.
- 51:14Speaker 1: And there I would soon. They're pretty easy to shoot.
- 51:17Speaker 1: They're huge.
- 51:18Speaker 3: Now maybe it's all feathers and you miss and you
- 51:20Speaker 3: got to hit, you know, center of man. Some of
- 51:22Speaker 3: them go on the offensive though there is Oh yeah,
- 51:24Speaker 3: they mark you, yeah, and they attack. I could see
- 51:27Speaker 3: you being made of turkey's bitch.
- 51:28Speaker 1: Oh they like pecket your Now, that would be a
- 51:31Speaker 1: great story if you were you know, it would be
- 51:33Speaker 1: an ironic ironic no, wedded by a turkey, like yeah,
- 51:38Speaker 1: actually you were forced to become the mate of a turkey.
- 51:42Speaker 1: The that thing we were doing the other day, Eric
- 51:44Speaker 1: would be penetrated by a turkey. That's another great moment
- 51:49Speaker 1: from Hey. Bridgetone is the official tire of the New

- 52:45Speaker 1: First one who recovered the butt fumble and scored the touchdown?
- 52:50Speaker 1: Steve Gregory, yep, good one. Ryan Dobson got that one right.
- 52:54Speaker 1: What year did the Lions first play on Thanksgiving?
- 52:58Speaker 3: Nineteen sixty four?
- 52:59Speaker 8: Wrong?
- 53:00Speaker 1: Not even close?
- 53:01Speaker 3: Forty five?
- 53:02Speaker 1: No earlier?
- 53:04Speaker 3: Oh thirty four, thirty four? Yeah, what was it like
- 53:07Speaker 3: back then?
- 53:08Speaker 8: Oh?
- 53:08Speaker 1: He's looking at Paul when he says that.
- 53:11Speaker 3: Five years.
- 53:13Speaker 1: How many times have the Patriots hosted hosted a Thanksgiving game?
- 53:19Speaker 11: Zero?
- 53:20Speaker 1: Correct?
- 53:21Speaker 3: That would have been my guest, But I thought no
- 53:22Speaker 3: one got it. I thought it was a trick question.
- 53:24Speaker 1: Yeah, no one got it.
- 53:26Speaker 3: So how many times have they played on Thanksgiving?
- 53:29Speaker 1: Four times?
- 53:30Speaker 8: Right?
- 53:30Speaker 3: Four times?
- 53:31Speaker 6: I don't know, remember Detroit last year in Minnesota?
- 53:35Speaker 1: Yeah, twice Detroit, right, twice?
- 53:38Speaker 3: Detroit more than twice, I know.
- 53:40Speaker 1: Yeah, because two thousand they played in Detroit.
- 53:43Speaker 3: Five according to Matt Murray, five times two thousand and
- 53:49Speaker 3: two and then like two thousand.
- 53:51Speaker 1: You know, we talk about swat depressing games now that
- 53:54Speaker 1: we think I think about it, that two thousand game
- 53:57Speaker 1: in Detroit on Thanksgiving was one of the more depressing games.
- 54:00Speaker 1: It was like something like that I'm missing thanks to this.
- 54:03Speaker 3: They lost the game, like thirty four to nine. Yeah,
- 54:06Speaker 3: take the like out. It was thirty four to nine.
- 54:08Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 54:09Speaker 3: And I really feel like the Patriots, I will played
- 54:12Speaker 3: them the whole game. They just kept watching the ball
- 54:14Speaker 3: up and down the field and drew a throw, a
- 54:16Speaker 3: pick or something would happen, and it was awful. You
- 54:19Speaker 3: knew it. They were getting killed. You know, at least
- 54:22Speaker 3: last year Brady got his first. It was a competitive
- 54:24Speaker 3: in the game, you know I didn't. I mean, last
- 54:26Speaker 3: year wasn't so bad because it was ended. The last
- 54:28Speaker 3: year was an entertaining game. But it's still I mean
- 54:32Speaker 3: kind of thanks to this holidays. Sure, I got my
- 54:35Speaker 3: turkey in.
- 54:36Speaker 1: All right, let's keep going here. Paul's done. So Mark's
- 54:42Speaker 1: in Connecticut. What's up? Mark? Oh?
- 54:46Speaker 3: Mark, you deserved that.
- 54:48Speaker 1: Yeah, Mark, line down, Let's go to line down. No,
- 54:51Speaker 1: that means that's line three. Eldridge is in North Carolina
- 54:55Speaker 1: doing double duty. I heard you calling in on Catch
- 54:57Speaker 1: twenty two.
- 54:58Speaker 3: Eldred and Buns to pick sir.
- 55:00Speaker 10: How y'all doing.
- 55:01Speaker 1: Yeah, you were giving praise for your call. They love
- 55:03Speaker 1: you talk.
- 55:03Speaker 3: You have to talk to you boo.
- 55:06Speaker 10: Uh there you go, hey, Area, don't give me. I'm
- 55:09Speaker 10: just joking, all right, but uh, I gotta, I gotta.
- 55:13Speaker 10: I was just jealous, and with just jealous fall You're.
- 55:16Speaker 1: My favorite two.
- 55:18Speaker 10: You and Fred for years, fifteen years, been arguing with y'all,
- 55:21Speaker 10: except lately we've been agreeing, which I don't like. I
- 55:25Speaker 10: really argue anybody.
- 55:26Speaker 3: Else, So I'll just walked out.
- 55:29Speaker 1: Nothing nothing, brings people together than failure. But anyway, go ahead.
- 55:32Speaker 10: Yeah, but uh but two two scenario, Evan, I would
- 55:37Speaker 10: love to get Parrison, but I gotta fit the Chicago
- 55:40Speaker 10: gonna pick him they have justin fields out. And the
- 55:45Speaker 10: other scenario, what if the keep everything intact and beild
- 55:50Speaker 10: trade down? How would y'all feel to get more picks
- 55:53Speaker 10: and I take it off there?
- 55:54Speaker 3: From from where? Trade down from where? Eldred from number
- 55:58Speaker 3: from three? Three from three? I don't think i'd like
- 56:00Speaker 3: all right, three, I don't think i'd like it, But
- 56:03Speaker 3: four or five I could make an argument for it,
- 56:05Speaker 3: because now the tackle might be the best player on
- 56:07Speaker 3: the board and you don't want it.
- 56:08Speaker 6: I don't want Yeah, I mean it's on one hand,
- 56:12Speaker 6: I just have to admit that they got a lot
- 56:14Speaker 6: of holes to film, and so I mean, I think
- 56:15Speaker 6: I need to see what it looked like. I mean,
- 56:16Speaker 6: if you were to trade down from you know, like
- 56:20Speaker 6: four to eight and you pick up another.
- 56:22Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't want to go from second round. No no, no, no,
- 56:25Speaker 3: no no no.
- 56:26Speaker 6: But I think that there's an argument to be made
- 56:28Speaker 6: if you still are picking high enough that you can
- 56:30Speaker 6: get impact players.
- 56:31Speaker 3: I mean, that's what I think they need. They need
- 56:32Speaker 3: impact players.
- 56:33Speaker 6: They don't need twenty seven to three third round picks
- 56:35Speaker 6: where they're going to take five picks in the top fifty.
- 56:37Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't need twelve draft picks if like last year,
- 56:41Speaker 3: they're all going to be in the seventh round, sixth round,
- 56:43Speaker 3: whatever I want. You know, I don't need to have
- 56:47Speaker 3: like extra picks. I just need higher picks. What would
- 56:50Speaker 3: the return beef to go from three to eight?
- 56:51Speaker 11: Though?
- 56:52Speaker 3: Oh, I don't know, Like I mean, is that you
- 56:53Speaker 3: get a first next to look at the chart. No,
- 56:56Speaker 3: you could get you know, you get something like that,
- 56:58Speaker 3: or you know, you could get you switch spots, someone
- 57:01Speaker 3: gives you a two, or maybe they have two first rounds,
- 57:04Speaker 3: you know, like I.
- 57:06Speaker 6: Three fields like a sweet spot though, I mean, at
- 57:08Speaker 6: least at this point. And I think everything changes too,
- 57:10Speaker 6: Like once we get into the draft thing, certain things
- 57:12Speaker 6: are going to happen.
- 57:13Speaker 3: Guys are gonna get.
- 57:13Speaker 1: Murg you know, you're gonna get at least one of
- 57:16Speaker 1: the two quarterbacks or.
- 57:17Speaker 3: Harris Harris, Yeah, which I or you can dangle that
- 57:19Speaker 3: carrot for either, which I think you could definitely talk
- 57:22Speaker 3: yourself into, you know, like if it was Harrison and
- 57:25Speaker 3: then you find a way to get you know, one
- 57:28Speaker 3: of the the lower rated quarterbacks later, like Jaydon Daniels.
- 57:33Speaker 3: You know, like you could talk yourself into that.
- 57:34Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 57:35Speaker 3: Yeah, this just to me, like with the tackle thing,
- 57:41Speaker 3: and I understand, like you need to you need help
- 57:44Speaker 3: on your offensive line. I'm not blind to that they
- 57:47Speaker 3: need to improve the offensive line, but there's been a
- 57:50Speaker 3: lot of first round tackles in the last three or
- 57:54Speaker 3: four years that have just been terrible. And I just
- 57:57Speaker 3: feel like no one really thinks of that as like
- 58:01Speaker 3: a franchise crippling draft pick for some reason, when I
- 58:03Speaker 3: think it just it kills you to have like an
- 58:06Speaker 3: Evan Neil in the first round the Giants, right, aren't
- 58:09Speaker 3: both of their guys? I think so? Aren't both of
- 58:13Speaker 3: their tackles? Yeah, Andrew Thomas was a first round pick too,
- 58:15Speaker 3: wasn't he? Yeah, and I don't think either one of
- 58:18Speaker 3: those guys has panned out. It's a terrible offensive line.
- 58:21Speaker 3: What's holding the Giants back? Quarter mean, I mean, but
- 58:26Speaker 3: the quarterback who runs for his life every game too.
- 58:29Speaker 3: Right now, I don't think Daniel Jones is great. I
- 58:31Speaker 3: think he's part of the problem. I think if you
- 58:33Speaker 3: had a good quarterback. Maybe these guys would be okay.
- 58:36Speaker 3: But my point is, who's like after Evan Neil and
- 58:39Speaker 3: Andrew Thomas. You know, Isaiah win and you know, there's
- 58:43Speaker 3: a lot of first round tackles that have been taken
- 58:46Speaker 3: that have been just well, like Becton, Mikai Beckton's another one. Yeah,
- 58:51Speaker 3: he's been hurt constantly. He's been decent this year, but
- 58:54Speaker 3: again part of the worst offensive line. Do you happen
- 58:57Speaker 3: to see that some of the rankings had the Patriots
- 58:59Speaker 3: at like twenty one one? That's pretty good. I'm only
- 59:03Speaker 3: another indictment of the quarterback.
- 59:06Speaker 1: Uh the sean writes in at web radio at Patriots
- 59:08Speaker 1: dot com. He's in New York. If there's any franchise
- 59:11Speaker 1: in the history of sports that deserves the tank, it's
- 59:13Speaker 1: the Patriots. I go as far to say that it
- 59:15Speaker 1: would be irresponsible to win this game Sunday. I honestly
- 59:19Speaker 1: think Robert Craft should implore Bill to lose. What are
- 59:22Speaker 1: your thoughts? I disagree.
- 59:25Speaker 6: I would really like to just hear Paul lay out
- 59:27Speaker 6: a perfect scenario of how they win this game, because
- 59:29Speaker 6: I feel like Paul will lay out exactly how it
- 59:32Speaker 6: will happen.
- 59:33Speaker 3: Of special I don't know. I don't want to put
- 59:36Speaker 3: words in your mouth though, is I don't want to say,
- 59:37Speaker 3: you know, like I mean, there.
- 59:39Speaker 6: Haven't been any special team scores. There haven't been any
- 59:41Speaker 6: defensive score. How the Patriots win this right, Like, I
- 59:44Speaker 6: feel like you're you got to beat on how it's
- 59:46Speaker 6: gonna unfold.
- 59:47Speaker 3: I think that if the Patriots win this game, it's
- 59:50Speaker 3: gonna be one of those days where they they create
- 59:53Speaker 3: the turnovers and they lead to points. Yeah, and I
- 59:56Speaker 3: think that's been what's happening to the Giants. Like our
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: producer Don does our TV show Freddie Don Maxon, he's
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: a Giants guy. He likes the Giants and he's been
- 1:00:07Speaker 3: talking about it for the last couple of weeks. Like
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: their defense is pretty good. It's not like Cleveland good,
- 1:00:13Speaker 3: but it's pretty good. And it's made to look horrible
- 1:00:16Speaker 3: because the offense just does so little to help them.
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: So won't it be funny if you know the game
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: obviously is at MetLife. If you know, Patriots do something great,
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: lot of cheers, Giants do something great, lot of cheers,
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: but the opposite teams fans cheering.
- 1:00:32Speaker 3: But you won't know, it'll be interesting to see, you
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: won't know how many Patriots fans are at this game,
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: because the Patriots fans have generally traveled pretty well no
- 1:00:40Speaker 3: matter where they are. I'd be curious to see.
- 1:00:44Speaker 6: What kind of more curious if it was at home,
- 1:00:48Speaker 6: like what the response is like from the crowd here.
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: But I'm sure Giants fans want to tank just as
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: much as Patriots fans, don't you think.
- 1:00:54Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 1:00:54Speaker 3: That's a good question. I don't know. So getting back
- 1:00:57Speaker 3: to Eldred's little draft thing, these kinds of things, I
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: don't know why they interest me so much, But like,
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: do you do you think that they would take a
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: quarterback or do you think they would roll the dice
- 1:01:06Speaker 3: and go with fields?
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: Again, Oh, Chicago, you mean yeah, I think that if
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: they have the top, they'll they'll take a quarterback.
- 1:01:13Speaker 3: I do too, Yeah, I have a new coach. I
- 1:01:15Speaker 3: don't think they'll pass on a quarterback. And you could
- 1:01:18Speaker 3: keep fields and take a quarterback and then you know,
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: roll the dice with fields, and then that way you
- 1:01:25Speaker 3: kind of put yourself in a position of power. If
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: it works and you want to go forward with fields,
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: then you can trade. You can trade your other guy.
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: It's not gonna it's not costing you a tremendous amount,
- 1:01:36Speaker 3: it's not an overly expensive backup. Or if fields doesn't
- 1:01:40Speaker 3: work out, nothing nothing lost, and you let your rookie
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: sit a while and develop and wait, I don't think
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: it's the worst idea to hold onto both of them.
- 1:01:50Speaker 6: There's a new coach, that's what I think. Like he's
- 1:01:52Speaker 6: gonna want to put his stamp on it. He's gonna
- 1:01:53Speaker 6: want his guy. But it's appealing to me. And in
- 1:01:56Speaker 6: a similar way of just like hanging onto mac, is you.
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: Just be a tremendous roll of the dice to just
- 1:02:02Speaker 3: hang on the field and not take a quarterback.
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: If a team drafts a guy and he says, I'm
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: not going there, I'm going back to college. Is there
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: any compensation for that team? Where did they just lose
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: the pit?
- 1:02:15Speaker 3: I don't know. I'm not going there. I'm going back
- 1:02:18Speaker 3: to college.
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: You can't do that. You can't do that.
- 1:02:20Speaker 3: No, Once you're once you're in the draft, you can't
- 1:02:22Speaker 3: do that. Ok, once you hire an agent, is that No,
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: you can hire an agent and go back. But once
- 1:02:27Speaker 3: you declare for the draft and it's final, that's it.
- 1:02:31Speaker 3: That you just can't like, if you don't get drafted,
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: you don't get to go back to college. Okay, that
- 1:02:34Speaker 3: happens to a lot of guys, right, yeah, Okay, but
- 1:02:39Speaker 3: there is a deadline. I don't have it in front
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: of me. I mean there are specific dates and times
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: when you can It happens more in basketball where guys
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: declare you know, but maybe they won't talk to an agent,
- 1:02:50Speaker 3: you know, and they can pull back before the deadline,
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: you know, they kind of test the waters and see
- 1:02:55Speaker 3: what kind of interest there is. And yeah, I know,
- 1:02:58Speaker 3: let's face it, it's becoming more more cloudy by the
- 1:03:01Speaker 3: year with all the yeah, the ni L It's pretty
- 1:03:03Speaker 3: soon it's just going to be those power schools off
- 1:03:06Speaker 3: by themselves and they'll leave the NCAAA behind.
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: Well, right, Saint Paul. You stated earlier that if Garrett
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: was probably wrong, if Garrett Wilson was on the Patriots
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: this year, Mack would be better if we can get
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: Marvin Harrison Junior in the draft. Can you envision a
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: world where that gives Mac another life at starting quarterback?
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: I hope not, but I can see the debate being made.
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I think that's that's true. I think Marvin
- 1:03:29Speaker 3: Harrison would help, but don't mistake me saying that I
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: think you'd be better for being me thinking that he's
- 1:03:35Speaker 3: good because I know I've kind of come more and
- 1:03:38Speaker 3: six but better. I think it would be better. I
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: think the better. This is about the whole team, not
- 1:03:44Speaker 3: just Mac Jones. Yeah, I've never said that this roster
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: is loaded and they should be winning, but the quarterback
- 1:03:50Speaker 3: is killing him.
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: He also says, why do people give Mac Jones more
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: free passes? I guess compared to Zach Wilson. Well, he's
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: not as bad as Zach Wilson.
- 1:04:00Speaker 3: Oh that's really close for it. No, it isn't, Yes
- 1:04:03Speaker 3: it is. I mean you can you can pretend it's
- 1:04:05Speaker 3: not because you think because he's a punching bag and
- 1:04:09Speaker 3: your guy is like, you know, had success the first
- 1:04:12Speaker 3: eight games of his career. None sense. But it's not
- 1:04:16Speaker 3: really that different. It's not that different.
- 1:04:19Speaker 6: I think that last pick Mac two is very Zach Wilson.
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: I mean Zach Wilson.
- 1:04:23Speaker 6: What we've seen from Zach Wilson, Like with some of
- 1:04:25Speaker 6: those games, I don't think Max had as many as
- 1:04:26Speaker 6: those like.
- 1:04:27Speaker 3: Four turnovers, like what are you doing? Games? But this
- 1:04:29Speaker 3: last game was do you remember the amount of times
- 1:04:32Speaker 3: like Zach Wilson would sort of like buy time in
- 1:04:35Speaker 3: the pocket, roll towards the sideliner, kind of throwing it away.
- 1:04:38Speaker 3: He rolls Kevin mccordy. That's the throwback across the field
- 1:04:41Speaker 3: that Mac Jones just made five times in the last
- 1:04:43Speaker 3: two years. Like, it's not that different. Do I think
- 1:04:46Speaker 3: he's better? Yes, by this much, They're not very different.
- 1:04:52Speaker 6: I feel like Mac is getting closer to Zach Wilson.
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: And I will I will say this in Max defense.
- 1:04:56Speaker 3: I don't think Mac Wilson has the amount of talent
- 1:04:58Speaker 3: around him that Zack Wilson does.
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: Yeahs uh, Nathan, I mean Mac Jones. Nathan is from Brookline.
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: He says. I love listening to the show. I try
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: to listen to every episode, but I can't listen to
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: them live because I'm in school. I'm a set in
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: seventh grade. My question is if you were in Bill
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: Belichick's position, what moves would you make? Who would you
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: like to see more of against the Giants? I would
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: like to see more Marty Mapho and give Taekwon Thornton
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: at least one more chance. PS. Today is an early
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: release day I'm not skipping school. Nice.
- 1:05:28Speaker 3: Yeah, Mapu was a guy that I picked for your roundtable.
- 1:05:32Speaker 3: I think you asked that question, which one player like
- 1:05:34Speaker 3: one player? But I with a caveat of I want
- 1:05:36Speaker 3: to see him play linebacker. I don't want to see
- 1:05:38Speaker 3: him play safety.
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: Yeah. I had Keon White on more downs.
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: Yeah you know, yeah, good one. Another good one.
- 1:05:44Speaker 6: I think Thornton's a good one too. It's and I
- 1:05:46Speaker 6: feel like you're kind of hoping against all odds with
- 1:05:49Speaker 6: him right now.
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: Okay, I'm almost to the point where I've seen enough.
- 1:05:52Speaker 3: Of who Thornton Thorty. It's interesting he's seen enough of Thornton,
- 1:05:57Speaker 3: but he wants to trut Mac back out there and
- 1:05:58Speaker 3: just tell him this is the last.
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: Different different Hu. I mean it this time. One of
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: one of Matt's problems is Taekwon Thornton unbelievable.
- 1:06:07Speaker 3: Like the emailer is right, it's just at some point
- 1:06:11Speaker 3: it's on you. At some point your performance is on you.
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: I know.
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: But if you could show up these other things you
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: know would be.
- 1:06:17Speaker 3: He still wouldn't be good enough.
- 1:06:18Speaker 6: I think something else that doesn't get said about the
- 1:06:20Speaker 6: quarterback position is that it's more than just his performance too.
- 1:06:23Speaker 3: It's just an overall.
- 1:06:24Speaker 6: Confidence of the team, you know, like there's just so
- 1:06:27Speaker 6: much that goes in that that position has just so
- 1:06:29Speaker 6: much more impact than you know, you talk about well
- 1:06:31Speaker 6: past protection, you know, like the quarterback is who the
- 1:06:34Speaker 6: team is a lot of that's your identity, like you know,
- 1:06:36Speaker 6: it's everybody's got to get behind him and pull and not.
- 1:06:40Speaker 3: Right now, can I ask a question for you, Fred
- 1:06:42Speaker 3: about the round table? Yeah, you know, the Mike's little
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: bonus question that's always you know, zany offbeat Mike. What
- 1:06:51Speaker 3: what was your answer?
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: Mike?
- 1:06:52Speaker 3: How did you put it? What is your what's your
- 1:06:53Speaker 3: favorite New York?
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: I wanted it to show me yours first.
- 1:06:58Speaker 3: I wrote, how did I put it? There's a lot
- 1:07:03Speaker 3: there's a lot of great stuff in New York. Too
- 1:07:05Speaker 3: bad the Giants play in Jersey, because I figured that's
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: what Fred would say. No, And then I said, you
- 1:07:10Speaker 3: know you're gonna make fun of me, but like this,
- 1:07:12Speaker 3: there's nothing like seeing the show on bad Way.
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: You do a lot of that. I did. Wow. Wow,
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: I can see Paul like w in this scar finish.
- 1:07:22Speaker 3: Generally dressed exactly the way I am right.
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: Now, walking stick.
- 1:07:27Speaker 3: Monicle.
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: Yeah, my answer.
- 1:07:29Speaker 3: I'm man enough to know that Fred was gonna make
- 1:07:31Speaker 3: fun of me, and I said it anyway, My uh
- 1:07:34Speaker 3: my thing.
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: Favorite thing about New York was sour krawt on hot dogs.
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I thought there's nothing. No, I was waiting
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: for a snarky There's nothing like a good street hot
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: dog in New York with sour kraut and mustard.
- 1:07:46Speaker 3: I think that is a very underrated part of New York.
- 1:07:49Speaker 3: Just that ability to just get a hot like he
- 1:07:52Speaker 3: just walked.
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: Those dogs get hot, those dogs sitting in that water
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: all day and it just so it's great.
- 1:07:58Speaker 3: And I gotta tell you were there, and I think
- 1:08:00Speaker 3: Will must have gotten like three one afternoon. It's like
- 1:08:03Speaker 3: those were so good. Can I get another way? Yeah?
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: Yeah, there's nothing like it. And then the second thing
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: would be leaving New York.
- 1:08:12Speaker 3: No, Alex writes in the bars, didn't I say something
- 1:08:15Speaker 3: about the bar. I don't think I said the bar
- 1:08:17Speaker 3: like that.
- 1:08:17Speaker 6: I didn't review him that I only got yours too back.
- 1:08:20Speaker 6: I didn't have a chance yet to review them, but
- 1:08:22Speaker 6: I'll take it.
- 1:08:23Speaker 3: He didn't proof for you them yet.
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: Uh yeah, I left out a w for Will. I
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: just so if you could correct, correct it?
- 1:08:30Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, Will he's intentionally making typos to keep you
- 1:08:35Speaker 3: on your toe happy Thanksgiving for Alex in the car
- 1:08:38Speaker 3: from Raleigh to Petucket.
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: I think Max should be sat for the rest of
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: the season. I've written and often to say I've never
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: been a Mac guy. When we drafted him, I said
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: he wasn't the guy. I don't think Zappi is the guy.
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: But MATC just looks broken and I don't think I'm
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: playing him will fix anything. He makes the same mistakes.
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: So why is the team giving into the insanity of
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: starting I hope the Patriots win or my wife will
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: have a fun Sunday with Giants pride.
- 1:09:04Speaker 8: Oh.
- 1:09:05Speaker 6: I mean, I think I think we all agree. It's
- 1:09:08Speaker 6: just you just want to get a look at something different.
- 1:09:10Speaker 6: And I don't know, I mean, to Evan's point, this
- 1:09:12Speaker 6: doesn't seem like the game where Max is gonna get right.
- 1:09:15Speaker 6: You know, maybe you'd feel like a little bit more
- 1:09:17Speaker 6: optimistic if it was they just rushed two or three
- 1:09:19Speaker 6: or four guys. They play a lot of zone. It
- 1:09:22Speaker 6: kind of feeds into what the Patriots want to do.
- 1:09:25Speaker 6: And I mean the interesting thing though, is is you
- 1:09:27Speaker 6: know we get these next gen stat things. The Giants
- 1:09:31Speaker 6: are second in blitz rate, but they're twenty ninth in
- 1:09:34Speaker 6: pressure rate. Just kind of an interesting little disparity between.
- 1:09:37Speaker 6: They send a lot of guys a lot, but get
- 1:09:40Speaker 6: a ton of pressure, at least as far as only
- 1:09:42Speaker 6: like six right. Yeah, And by contrast, the Patriots are
- 1:09:46Speaker 6: eight eighth for blitz rate and twenty third for pressure rates.
- 1:09:51Speaker 6: So it's still not great, but not the disparity of
- 1:09:54Speaker 6: second to twenty ninth.
- 1:09:55Speaker 3: Yeah, stats, huh interesting.
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: Interesting, So let's take it a step further.
- 1:10:00Speaker 3: Hm hmmmm. And I'm going to look at something right now,
- 1:10:03Speaker 3: a couple of entry. Let's see, opponents have attempted three
- 1:10:08Speaker 3: hundred and fifty two passes against the Patriots and three
- 1:10:13Speaker 3: hundred and seventy one against the Giants, So that would
- 1:10:16Speaker 3: make it even worse for the Giants.
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: About half a game's worth its passes.
- 1:10:22Speaker 3: But even less pressure.
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: At my point, Brandon writes in I think Mike Evans
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: is a perfect example of talented team and other parts,
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: but he needed the right quarterback, and in his case,
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: he was a forty plus year old future Hall of
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: Famer will helped raise the talent to a championship level.
- 1:10:38Speaker 3: I guess Mike Evans is a terrific player.
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: Yeah he's still doing well.
- 1:10:42Speaker 3: Yeah, he's still doing well now, right thinking with jamis
- 1:10:45Speaker 3: like the team wasn't good enough to win the super Bowl,
- 1:10:47Speaker 3: but that had nothing to do with Mike Evans. I've
- 1:10:50Speaker 3: been doing that a lot though.
- 1:10:51Speaker 6: I've been like thinking of, you know, all time talented
- 1:10:53Speaker 6: receivers that never were on good teams, or all time
- 1:10:56Speaker 6: talented tackles that were never on good teams, and like.
- 1:10:59Speaker 3: You can find a lot you can't find all time.
- 1:11:01Speaker 3: There's a ton of tackles that you could do that
- 1:11:02Speaker 3: all time.
- 1:11:03Speaker 6: Thomas, Joe Thomas was one I thought of, but you know,
- 1:11:06Speaker 6: like Megatron in no offense to Stafford.
- 1:11:09Speaker 3: No, absolutely Megatron would be Jones came on later. But yeah,
- 1:11:13Speaker 3: now in terms of like winning winning titles, if you like,
- 1:11:18Speaker 3: that's the Felagrimaz thing, like you're nothing if you didn't
- 1:11:20Speaker 3: win the title. There's a lot of really good players
- 1:11:23Speaker 3: that were on good teams that won plenty of games.
- 1:11:26Speaker 3: But like Joe Thomas was never even on a good team. Yeah,
- 1:11:29Speaker 3: you know, like to me, Julio Jones, yeah, good teams
- 1:11:33Speaker 3: they just never won at all, you know, but there's
- 1:11:36Speaker 3: no quarterbacks like that.
- 1:11:37Speaker 6: Like, I don't think you could say there's a really
- 1:11:39Speaker 6: talented quarterback that I mean, of course didn't want to
- 1:11:41Speaker 6: kill but but didn't you know.
- 1:11:42Speaker 3: No, but but just didn't win. Never they they won.
- 1:11:46Speaker 3: But like, yeah, it would be like if Justin Herbert
- 1:11:48Speaker 3: plays his whole career the divisional round and the record
- 1:11:52Speaker 3: stays the way it is now it's like five hundred,
- 1:11:55Speaker 3: that would be kind of an abnormally Nominally.
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: Sergio in California says, he said, he says, start all
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: four it but with me personally, I do a platoon
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: situation for Tommedy Mack would play the first quarter, zapply
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: the second quarter, Will Grier third, and have kind of
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: him close.
- 1:12:11Speaker 3: Out, you know, the Benny Hill music playing the whole time.
- 1:12:15Speaker 3: Can I just tell you that that would be unbelievably fascinating. Yeah,
- 1:12:19Speaker 3: be different.
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: It's preseason, basically, it would be they'd be treated like
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: a preseason game. They'd have to get you on the broadcast, Paul, Yeah, yeah,
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: I'm here for that.
- 1:12:29Speaker 3: That's right.
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: So line down has been waiting for a while. Let's
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: go to Trey in Florida.
- 1:12:37Speaker 3: What's up?
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: Oh, Trey's line is down. Let's go to Mark and Everett. Mark,
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: Happy Things.
- 1:12:45Speaker 14: Here is all the greatest and the first podcast. You
- 1:12:48Speaker 14: guys are the best.
- 1:12:50Speaker 3: Thank you, thank you.
- 1:12:53Speaker 14: Okay, so on the building and I hope we don't
- 1:12:56Speaker 14: beat him up too much. He is the best of
- 1:12:58Speaker 14: all times. And what do you say a third years
- 1:13:01Speaker 14: and Macus is going through that sophomore jains than we
- 1:13:05Speaker 14: just hang on for him for one more year, give
- 1:13:07Speaker 14: the big bunch.
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: I don't know. It's hard to make the case for that.
- 1:13:14Speaker 3: Of him being the quarterback next year. Yeah, I think
- 1:13:18Speaker 3: there's a chance of that.
- 1:13:20Speaker 2: Yeah, you can you hear me?
- 1:13:22Speaker 3: Yeah, I think there's a chance that he could be
- 1:13:23Speaker 3: the quarterback in twenty four. Yes, a chance. Yeah, I
- 1:13:27Speaker 3: don't know. If they don't get in a position to
- 1:13:29Speaker 3: get one of the quarterbacks, what's your alternative? You gotta
- 1:13:33Speaker 3: I mean, you gotta have a season, right, I agree?
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: All right? Thanks Mark.
- 1:13:41Speaker 3: Ironically, I don't think we agree like that to me
- 1:13:43Speaker 3: would be the worst case scenario. I can't find anybody
- 1:13:46Speaker 3: else and I have to I have to run it
- 1:13:48Speaker 3: back possible.
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: Jeff and Brooklyn about the party versus Mac comparison. You
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: know that Mac has wide open people too, and he
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: doesn't throw to.
- 1:13:55Speaker 3: Them or he misses them like he did in in Indy.
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: Also, Purdy's mechanics very good and above all consistent. He
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: has very compact, consistent motion, other things Matt can't do.
- 1:14:05Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm you know, Evan's not here to defend himself,
- 1:14:08Speaker 3: so I won't be labored the point. But I also
- 1:14:12Speaker 3: I don't pretend I don't watch every Niners game, but
- 1:14:14Speaker 3: when I see them, I don't see great protection. I
- 1:14:18Speaker 3: don't see a great offensive line with pass protection and whatnot.
- 1:14:21Speaker 3: And he moves around, slides around, changes arm angles, and
- 1:14:25Speaker 3: I think he's had more to do with that success
- 1:14:27Speaker 3: of the offense than Evan gives it credit for. Now,
- 1:14:30Speaker 3: am I telling you that no one else could do that? No,
- 1:14:32Speaker 3: I'm not saying that. I'm telling you I don't think
- 1:14:34Speaker 3: it would look anywhere near that good with Mac Jones,
- 1:14:37Speaker 3: just like it didn't look that good with Jimmy Garoppolo.
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: Right Mitch in Albany, I saw stat recently that Matt
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: Judon still leads to the Patriots and Sacks. I know
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: the defense has been pretty solid overall, but why have
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: they not been able to get after the quarterback did
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: us just have a great stretch last season and we'll
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: never see that again. I thought he would be at
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: least decent. Also, where has Keon White been?
- 1:15:00Speaker 3: Yeah, that's uh. I mean, I know it's been going
- 1:15:03Speaker 3: around with UCH.
- 1:15:04Speaker 6: People have been talking, well, the you know, the metrics
- 1:15:06Speaker 6: still look okay with pressure and things like that. Steve
- 1:15:08Speaker 6: Belichick said earlier this week that he would generally agree
- 1:15:11Speaker 6: with that. I just I think it's about finishing right now,
- 1:15:13Speaker 6: and that's what they don't have. They don't have the finishers.
- 1:15:15Speaker 6: Got Barmore gets pressure, and you know he certainly has
- 1:15:18Speaker 6: finished some. But you just look at Gardner Minshew. You
- 1:15:21Speaker 6: know he's contained in the pocket.
- 1:15:22Speaker 3: He's running around.
- 1:15:24Speaker 6: It's just nobody can get through a block and get
- 1:15:26Speaker 6: to the quarterback and and take him down. And I
- 1:15:28Speaker 6: mean it's Judon is still the leading the leading sacker
- 1:15:31Speaker 6: on is that a word? Sacker?
- 1:15:33Speaker 3: The leading sack man on the team. Like, it's just
- 1:15:35Speaker 3: that to me.
- 1:15:36Speaker 6: You can talk and I know sacks is an overrated
- 1:15:38Speaker 6: stat but right now, I do think it's it's telling
- 1:15:41Speaker 6: that they just can't finish.
- 1:15:42Speaker 3: Just talking about sacks. I would totally agree that the
- 1:15:44Speaker 3: metrics are probably similar. But I think Mike bringing up
- 1:15:47Speaker 3: that Colts game is is relevant because yeah, they got
- 1:15:51Speaker 3: some pressure and that that's put in check box check
- 1:15:54Speaker 3: marks and those boxes for the metrics. But you're allowing
- 1:15:57Speaker 3: place when you get pressure and the ball has to
- 1:15:59Speaker 3: come out quick and it's an incomplete pass. That's where
- 1:16:02Speaker 3: the sack is misleading. They haven't had a lot of that,
- 1:16:06Speaker 3: I don't think. I think for the most part, when
- 1:16:07Speaker 3: they've had pressure to get you know, I thought Sam
- 1:16:10Speaker 3: Howell did the same thing to them in that game.
- 1:16:12Speaker 3: He was able to get out of the pocket, move around,
- 1:16:15Speaker 3: find a guy, and make a play.
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: Jacket and Arbor says by mentioning Fred and his wrestling
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: singlet you have just ruined my Thanksgiving weekend. That is
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: an image that I cannot unsee, even if it's only
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: in my mind's eye. Now it will be a week
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: before you can get a good night's sleep.
- 1:16:30Speaker 3: Well, at least it's Thanksgiving and food.
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: And I was cut back then, let me tell you.
- 1:16:37Speaker 3: I was currently. My wife still thinks you're cut Fred,
- 1:16:40Speaker 3: I don't. I don't know what she's looking.
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: Let's see el Tony writes in Longtime Listening, First Time emailer.
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: After meeting you all at Gibson's. We actually set off
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: a day earlier once we'd seen you that you were
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: broadcasting live on that Friday. Oh, they came to to
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: see us. Not a great game, as we know, but
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: still fantastic to see the Patriots live. Will be over
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: to Foxborough next season, I hope. On the Germany postgame show,
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: Paul said he didn't think an international franchise would work,
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: and that events such as the Frankfurt game are only
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: likely to work as a big occasion, a bit like
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: US interest in the World Cup. I'm paraphrasing a bit here.
- 1:17:21Speaker 3: That's pretty close. I think that pretty much relays what
- 1:17:24Speaker 3: I said.
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: Forgetting the whole logistics issue. For a minute of flying
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: teams back and forth across the Atlantic, I have to disagree.
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: I think it could work, but only if the teams
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: were located in the right cities, tickets. It goes on
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: and on.
- 1:17:37Speaker 3: I didn't think this was that long, No, But I'd
- 1:17:40Speaker 3: be curious from a perspective on the other side, Yeah,
- 1:17:43Speaker 3: I'm kind of interested in that.
- 1:17:45Speaker 8: No.
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: I think that.
- 1:17:47Speaker 3: If you could summarize it, Yeah, I think.
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: One international franchise can't work. I think if you're going
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: to do that, you need to create a division in
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: Europe where they play amongst them else and then they
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: come over for a month and play games here, you know,
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: so I think.
- 1:18:07Speaker 3: I mean, I don't think that works. Now, I don't
- 1:18:12Speaker 3: what I what I was getting at, and maybe I'm wrong,
- 1:18:15Speaker 3: And he had the information there on to explain why
- 1:18:18Speaker 3: I'm wrong is that I feel like those games are
- 1:18:23Speaker 3: big time special events and they are treated as such,
- 1:18:28Speaker 3: whereas if you just played a game every week over
- 1:18:30Speaker 3: there and you had to, you know, you force feed
- 1:18:32Speaker 3: you know, the Ryan Fire is their team. I'm not
- 1:18:36Speaker 3: sure that you have that same interest level over there
- 1:18:38Speaker 3: to support it, Forget, And he's right, the reason it
- 1:18:42Speaker 3: can't work is logistics, Like so you're gonna have him
- 1:18:46Speaker 3: spend a month in the US and play it like
- 1:18:48Speaker 3: a month of road games, and like that's not fair,
- 1:18:51Speaker 3: Like that's not the best way to have an equitable league.
- 1:18:54Speaker 3: I just don't think that makes a lot of sense.
- 1:18:57Speaker 3: And I compared it to the World Cup, Freddie, Yeah,
- 1:18:59Speaker 3: the World Cup. He when when the US hosts the
- 1:19:02Speaker 3: World Cup, it's enormous. Yeah, and we largely don't care.
- 1:19:06Speaker 3: The other three and a half years.
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: It just well, if the US team did a little better,
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: we might that year that they did well.
- 1:19:13Speaker 3: I mean, but I think the World Cup itself is
- 1:19:16Speaker 3: wildly popular because it's a major event. Yeah, and we
- 1:19:20Speaker 3: will go crazy over that event, right, But I don't
- 1:19:23Speaker 3: think they're necessarily crazy about the US playing Portugal and
- 1:19:27Speaker 3: just some regular game, whereas in the NFL there is
- 1:19:31Speaker 3: amazing interest for every game.
- 1:19:33Speaker 6: Right and especially over there where you bring out not
- 1:19:35Speaker 6: just Patriot fans, but there were all kinds of fans there,
- 1:19:37Speaker 6: you know what I mean. It's not just an event
- 1:19:39Speaker 6: for one fan group.
- 1:19:40Speaker 3: Right now, you're telling them all one team is yours, right,
- 1:19:43Speaker 3: and I don't think again, I well, I'm interested in
- 1:19:46Speaker 3: the other side because it's not a guys obviously.
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: No more, it's not a full thing study. But no,
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: it's not Jacksonville plays two games a year in London
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: now or something like that. This year, have they gained
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: in UK? I'm talking about have they gained you know,
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: hardcore fans.
- 1:20:03Speaker 3: I don't have that answer. I just still think that
- 1:20:07Speaker 3: the London games are very popular because there's two or
- 1:20:09Speaker 3: three of them. There's you know, the Mexico City game
- 1:20:13Speaker 3: was very popular they had one. You know, I just
- 1:20:16Speaker 3: I think if you had sixteen games a year in Frankfurt,
- 1:20:19Speaker 3: I don't think they would be as popular as those
- 1:20:21Speaker 3: two games back to back were with Kansas City and
- 1:20:24Speaker 3: New England.
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: Well you'd have eight. But anyway, you know what I mean? Yeah, yeah, no,
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: I don't know. I mean there's a lot of fans there,
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: there's no doubt, and you know, they had a huge
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: waiting list, But like Paul said, you can't it's not
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: apples static.
- 1:20:35Speaker 3: And it's very anecdotal. I don't know. Like that's why
- 1:20:38Speaker 3: I was kind of curious to see what someone who's
- 1:20:40Speaker 3: actually in Europe wanted to to offer a rebuttal.
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: Kyle and Kembroke just wanted to wish you all happy
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: Thanksgiving and thank you for putting on such an amazing show,
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: even in this horrible football season. Two questions, what's your
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: favorite Thanksgiving side dish? And what's your favorite Thanksgiving football memory?
- 1:20:59Speaker 3: Oh?
- 1:20:59Speaker 6: Boy, I mean there's a lot of side dishes I like,
- 1:21:02Speaker 6: But part of me feels like it's really just the
- 1:21:05Speaker 6: all of it coming together with a little turkey, a
- 1:21:07Speaker 6: little stuffing, a little mashed potatoes, and a little cranberry
- 1:21:10Speaker 6: and a little gravy.
- 1:21:10Speaker 3: On top, and just that bite. That to me is
- 1:21:13Speaker 3: the perfection.
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: I mean you like the gobbler, just the sandwich that
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: they will sure, yeah, I like that, but I mean
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: I just the ideal thing is getting that perfect bite.
- 1:21:21Speaker 6: It's not like oh, great mashed potatoes, like oh great stuffing.
- 1:21:25Speaker 6: It's it's all of it, right, see, I like it
- 1:21:27Speaker 6: individual I don't like them.
- 1:21:28Speaker 3: They just have a little really you like my sisters
- 1:21:31Speaker 3: like that.
- 1:21:31Speaker 4: You don't want any food to touch on her plate
- 1:21:33Speaker 4: and everything's vv up even more with Fred.
- 1:21:36Speaker 3: Thanksgiving is not my in terms of the food. Is
- 1:21:38Speaker 3: not my home. I would say stuffing probably, But I
- 1:21:41Speaker 3: like this if I don't really like that, Thanksgiving for
- 1:21:44Speaker 3: me is can't wait till Christmas.
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: If it's made the way my wife makes it, or
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: Ruth Chris sweet potato pie is my favorite. Marshmallow and
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: brown sugar.
- 1:21:54Speaker 3: Someone talks about that today. Was it Mac?
- 1:21:56Speaker 8: What is it?
- 1:21:56Speaker 3: Lawrence Guy?
- 1:21:57Speaker 6: I think Larry Guy.
- 1:21:58Speaker 3: Larry Guy. The marshmallow.
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: Oh you make it right, It's like dessert. It's so good.
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: But I do like a good stuffing. I don't like
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: the stuffing that's dry. You ever have like the dry
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: stuffing where you can still see them, the crews, the bird.
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: I like it when it's moist and all mushy together,
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: like you could make a snowball from the inside of
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: the Like it's sticky, it sticks to your ribs. I
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: like that kind of stuffing. Uh, memory gravy, I think.
- 1:22:28Speaker 3: I don't know one memory.
- 1:22:28Speaker 6: I just I used to love going to the high
- 1:22:30Speaker 6: school football game onto, you know, Holliston Westwood ten am
- 1:22:34Speaker 6: Thursday morning. You know, you get out, everybody, like the
- 1:22:37Speaker 6: cars are lying in the street. I mean, all the
- 1:22:38Speaker 6: alumni come back.
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: Now, Paul, it's the night before Thanksgiving. Paul still goes
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: to the bar. Oh yeah, see the high schools.
- 1:22:47Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, I haven't done that in years either.
- 1:22:50Speaker 6: But that was fun, especially right out of and that
- 1:22:53Speaker 6: was a lot of fun right out of college when
- 1:22:55Speaker 6: you come back and everybody's like, but you know what.
- 1:22:59Speaker 3: Like when you do that, like you know, seven eight,
- 1:23:02Speaker 3: nine years, like, you know, okay, this is the last
- 1:23:05Speaker 3: year we're coming to the pub, right right, Well we've
- 1:23:08Speaker 3: aged out. Yeah, we got to go do our own
- 1:23:11Speaker 3: things somewhere else.
- 1:23:11Speaker 6: But then you start to get the mix of like,
- 1:23:13Speaker 6: you know, people who got out of the town and
- 1:23:15Speaker 6: are coming back home. But then you also have people
- 1:23:17Speaker 6: who didn't leave town who are now like the townies.
- 1:23:20Speaker 3: So it's just like we're here every Thursday.
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: Yeah, and then there's a fight. It's a fight from
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: a county bad blood, Yeah, somebody.
- 1:23:27Speaker 3: But my senior, my last ever football game was absolutely
- 1:23:31Speaker 3: the Thanksgiving to memory, you get that dub. Yeah. We
- 1:23:34Speaker 3: won thirty one nothing and it snowed that day. We
- 1:23:39Speaker 3: played really well. It was to the point where all
- 1:23:42Speaker 3: the seniors are basically out of the game at halftime.
- 1:23:45Speaker 6: It doesn't exist anymore now. I mean, it's just the
- 1:23:47Speaker 6: number of games I'm hearing about that are going to
- 1:23:48Speaker 6: be played tomorrow that have no impact. Or there's teams
- 1:23:51Speaker 6: that are getting ready to play in the state championship
- 1:23:53Speaker 6: next week, so they're not even going to play their guys.
- 1:23:55Speaker 3: The vast majority of the games, though, if you have
- 1:23:57Speaker 3: a traditional rivalry, it's still means something. It's still big,
- 1:24:01Speaker 3: you know, even for the teams that aren't good, you know,
- 1:24:03Speaker 3: like Malden and Medford really haven't been very good in
- 1:24:05Speaker 3: the GBL. They've played for one hundred and twenty years.
- 1:24:08Speaker 3: It's still important to Malden and Medford, right, you know,
- 1:24:10Speaker 3: Salem Beverly this year is going to be different. One
- 1:24:12Speaker 3: hundred I think it's the one hundred and twenty fifth game.
- 1:24:15Speaker 3: But Salem's going to the super Bowl. They're playing on
- 1:24:17Speaker 3: Wednesday here, so I don't know if that's going to be.
- 1:24:20Speaker 3: He's playing Franklin at Fenway Park. They played last time,
- 1:24:25Speaker 3: thirty five nothing a big k p oh my kid
- 1:24:28Speaker 3: went there. They cheap so you saw. There's no more
- 1:24:31Speaker 3: that massthewvests past the thing. There's no more like Native
- 1:24:33Speaker 3: American mascots. And I'm wondering if King Philip is going
- 1:24:36Speaker 3: to get acts. They're called they're literally called King Philip.
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: From King whatever his name was.
- 1:24:40Speaker 3: Yeah, man, different things.
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know.
- 1:24:45Speaker 3: Yeah, there's still a lot. I think it's still the
- 1:24:47Speaker 3: Dartmouth Indians, Yeah, and Saga Sa Cham's. I think there's
- 1:24:51Speaker 3: still a lot of them that still have Native American mascots,
- 1:24:54Speaker 3: which I don't really understand why that is such a
- 1:24:58Speaker 3: big thing, but there's a lot.
- 1:25:00Speaker 6: I think if it's respectful, right, you know, like it's
- 1:25:02Speaker 6: not what Yeah, well, the thing is crazy to me
- 1:25:05Speaker 6: about King Philip not to put my little nerdy history
- 1:25:07Speaker 6: ot on. But like he literally like led a rebellion
- 1:25:10Speaker 6: against all the settlers and like massacred people across the
- 1:25:13Speaker 6: Metro West, and like we have a high school named
- 1:25:14Speaker 6: after him, Like you know, I mean it's a complicated situation.
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: But Battle of Worcester was big, well Medfield.
- 1:25:20Speaker 6: Him and his guys, they went through Medfield and clean
- 1:25:22Speaker 6: that place out, you know, back in the seventeen hundreds.
- 1:25:24Speaker 3: It's just just weird now to have a high school,
- 1:25:27Speaker 3: odd little peak into Hackamock League history right there from
- 1:25:30Speaker 3: King Philip. Yeah, he saw what was coming. He was like, no,
- 1:25:33Speaker 3: we better, we.
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: Better find So what do we make of Evan not
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: being back yet?
- 1:25:38Speaker 3: I think he's walking. They're making them trudge from the
- 1:25:41Speaker 3: My guesses they didn't get out there when they was
- 1:25:43Speaker 3: supposed to write.
- 1:25:43Speaker 15: I don't think he's like, I don't know, we got picked,
- 1:25:48Speaker 15: but we got a hurry pill and then either Alex
- 1:25:51Speaker 15: didn't do well or there's no way she was coming
- 1:25:54Speaker 15: in the day before Thanksgiving.
- 1:25:55Speaker 3: Yeah that's I thought I saw her today.
- 1:25:57Speaker 6: No, she's she's just doing my tru mentally, she's might
- 1:26:00Speaker 6: cause Mike cleats hell. Okay, so she's doing a lot
- 1:26:02Speaker 6: of stuff. We'll get her picks from her. But yeah,
- 1:26:04Speaker 6: she's she's in the weeds right now. Okay, all right, well, yeah,
- 1:26:07Speaker 6: because I saw her this morning, she's here. I'll give
- 1:26:09Speaker 6: Evan a few more minutes to get here. Let's see.
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: Matt writes in Penay Sewell is one of the first
- 1:26:17Speaker 1: round that has worked out rat one. Yes, I would
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: be on board with Joe all but we have to
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: make moves during the free agency. Paul, if we get
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: Ty Higgins, T Higgins, would you then be okay with
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: tackle with the first pick? So if you shore up
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: the off the.
- 1:26:33Speaker 3: Wide, I would still rather trade down.
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: Yeah. I don't think T Higgins. He's good.
- 1:26:36Speaker 3: Oh No, I love tre I love t Higgins, But
- 1:26:38Speaker 3: I would still rather get a player at that spot.
- 1:26:43Speaker 3: If I'm going to take a player in the top five,
- 1:26:46Speaker 3: I want more of an impact player. You know, obviously
- 1:26:49Speaker 3: Penny Sewell has been a really good player for the Lions.
- 1:26:51Speaker 3: That's a hit no matter where you picked him, that's
- 1:26:54Speaker 3: a that's a hit.
- 1:26:55Speaker 1: And even if just so you know, Evan, we haven't
- 1:26:57Speaker 1: been talking draft the whole time you were gone.
- 1:26:59Speaker 3: We couldn't we couldn't do it with hearing Paul say
- 1:27:02Speaker 3: the words trade down is making me quick? Rather no
- 1:27:05Speaker 3: no no no no no no no no stop, rather
- 1:27:08Speaker 3: than take a tackle, Rather than take a tack, I
- 1:27:11Speaker 3: don't want to take a tackle. So Trent Williams has
- 1:27:14Speaker 3: no impact on his team, all right, heaven it's easy,
- 1:27:20Speaker 3: not as much of an impact.
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: All right, Evan, what do we got? All right?
- 1:27:35Speaker 5: Well, that was an adventure, not that anybody cares. You guys,
- 1:27:40Speaker 5: start sending the search party because I was in the elements.
- 1:27:44Speaker 5: So the Patriots practicing the bubble, So thank you the
- 1:27:50Speaker 5: Socios dot com field hoss. I don't want to insult
- 1:27:52Speaker 5: the people at Socios. They had perfect attendance in the
- 1:27:55Speaker 5: bubble there today, and uh, you know, it took so
- 1:27:58Speaker 5: long because you have to go around, you know, you
- 1:28:01Speaker 5: have to get in your car, you have to drive around.
- 1:28:05Speaker 5: So it was a little bit of an adventure to
- 1:28:08Speaker 5: to get there and back, which is what took so long.
- 1:28:10Speaker 5: But yeah, perfect attendance. Stretch only, so he didn't really
- 1:28:14Speaker 5: see anything to glean out of the quarterback.
- 1:28:18Speaker 3: He looks good. Stretch only, stretch only.
- 1:28:23Speaker 5: I still feel you know, coming off of two practices now,
- 1:28:29Speaker 5: I still feel like the wind is blowing towards mac
- 1:28:32Speaker 5: Jones starting. I don't know if it's concrete set in stone,
- 1:28:38Speaker 5: and they could obviously change their minds at any time,
- 1:28:41Speaker 5: but it still feels like the illusion that they're giving
- 1:28:47Speaker 5: is that he's going to be the one that's at
- 1:28:49Speaker 5: least going to start this game.
- 1:28:51Speaker 1: Okay, but shortly probably, That's what I say.
- 1:28:54Speaker 3: Yeah, how about one of the possibility of he's planning
- 1:28:59Speaker 3: on playing more than one quarterback by design?
- 1:29:01Speaker 1: Possible?
- 1:29:02Speaker 3: I think that's that's definitely possible. They did that. I
- 1:29:06Speaker 3: think the Chicago thing was supposed to be like the
- 1:29:09Speaker 3: claimed in the Chicago.
- 1:29:10Speaker 1: Yeah, is there any chance that while all you guys
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: were inside the bubble, Will Greer was warming up outside
- 1:29:15Speaker 1: and getting ready for the game.
- 1:29:16Speaker 5: No, we saw him, But we also we've seen Trent
- 1:29:19Speaker 5: Brown the last couple of days. He has been at practice,
- 1:29:23Speaker 5: moving maybe a little bit better. I don't know that
- 1:29:27Speaker 5: one is really fascinating to me. Not as much as
- 1:29:29Speaker 5: the quarterbacks obviously, but is this a guy that you
- 1:29:32Speaker 5: really want to play like after what he sounds off
- 1:29:35Speaker 5: and like just I don't know, it's just a lot
- 1:29:38Speaker 5: I have a question.
- 1:29:39Speaker 1: Though they were in the bubble. There's no lightning today,
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: so usually they don't go in the bubble unless it's like,
- 1:29:44Speaker 1: you can't practice in this weather.
- 1:29:46Speaker 3: It was pretty nasty.
- 1:29:47Speaker 1: Oh wasn't that bad.
- 1:29:48Speaker 3: Yeah, it's it's pretty It was raining sideways, you know,
- 1:29:51Speaker 3: it's like pretty windy.
- 1:29:53Speaker 1: Oh yeah, okay, yeah it was. It was kind of okay.
- 1:29:58Speaker 3: You got to be pretty confident that it's not going
- 1:29:59Speaker 3: to be like.
- 1:30:00Speaker 1: I was just doing conspiracy theory and it's like, okay,
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: we're trying to get Zappy ready. He's not gonna be
- 1:30:06Speaker 1: able to get ready in this weather. So let's go
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: inside and and you know, give him a puncher's chance.
- 1:30:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:30:12Speaker 5: Well, the best part is is when they practice, this
- 1:30:14Speaker 5: is very inside baseball, but they make us like turn
- 1:30:17Speaker 5: our backs to the to the glass.
- 1:30:22Speaker 8: Mirror.
- 1:30:22Speaker 5: So so Rundy is standing with me and we're chatting
- 1:30:26Speaker 5: and he's got a camera and the camera is pointing
- 1:30:30Speaker 5: in the wrong direction but obviously had the cap on
- 1:30:33Speaker 5: and like it wasn't on right, and Gerd Meho just goes, oh,
- 1:30:38Speaker 5: you're taking you're taking pictures of the people coming out
- 1:30:40Speaker 5: of the bathroom, like joking with them, and like obviously
- 1:30:43Speaker 5: the camera is not on and I'm just standing there.
- 1:30:46Speaker 3: I'm like, we should not we should have stood someplace else,
- 1:30:49Speaker 3: up against the wall. Oh my god.
- 1:30:51Speaker 11: Yeah, turn around.
- 1:30:53Speaker 1: The next thing, you know, they'll have like sacks over
- 1:30:55Speaker 1: your head, you know. Okay, Saxon, Saxon, Aaron over.
- 1:31:00Speaker 3: Okay, that's our time, that's our time line of hostages.
- 1:31:04Speaker 5: But it's funny because like then they walk us out right,
- 1:31:07Speaker 5: and it's it's a much longer walk to the door
- 1:31:10Speaker 5: than it is outside where the stairs are looking.
- 1:31:14Speaker 1: Then you're just like, oh my god, the curtain came
- 1:31:20Speaker 1: while the forty Yeah, come.
- 1:31:22Speaker 3: Uch, practice, you know, try to stop it, Trent Williams,
- 1:31:25Speaker 3: try to stop it. Did you see their offense without
- 1:31:28Speaker 3: Trent Williams? Terrible? Right, But quarterbacks gonna win MVP.
- 1:31:32Speaker 1: It's pretty significant, all right, Paul, what happened? We gotta hurry.
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: What happened last night?
- 1:31:38Speaker 3: Yeah? It was Alex and Evan ten and four, Mike,
- 1:31:46Speaker 3: Paul and Fred nine and five. So we all were
- 1:31:48Speaker 3: okay last week with a spread not quite as good
- 1:31:52Speaker 3: for anybody. Alex and Evan again led six seven and one,
- 1:31:58Speaker 3: Paul and Fred five eight and one. Mike, what's going
- 1:32:03Speaker 3: on for nine and one. I don't know what you're
- 1:32:05Speaker 3: doing with the spread. I lost my field overall. Alex
- 1:32:08Speaker 3: Mantanzar lead at one O, six and fifty eight, followed
- 1:32:12Speaker 3: by Me at one O one and sixty three, Evan
- 1:32:15Speaker 3: ninety nine and sixty five, Fred ninety seven and sixty six,
- 1:32:18Speaker 3: Mike ninety six and sixty eight with the spread Paul
- 1:32:24Speaker 3: eighty seventy six and eight another push last week, followed
- 1:32:29Speaker 3: by Alex seventy eight, seventy eight and eight, Fred seventy seven,
- 1:32:35Speaker 3: seventy nine and eight, Evan seventy three, eighty three and eight,
- 1:32:39Speaker 3: and Mike sixty eight, eighty eight and eight.
- 1:32:43Speaker 1: Okay, it goes for kids, not in l for love,
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: Mike sor right. All right, So we got a complicated schedule,
- 1:32:53Speaker 1: so let's get right to it today, I mean tomorrow.
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: I'm sorry. At twelve thirty p. Twelve thirty pm o'clock start.
- 1:33:03Speaker 3: As I love, I Love the twelve thirty.
- 1:33:05Speaker 1: Yeah, it's nice. Four and six packers are at the
- 1:33:09Speaker 1: eight and two Lions.
- 1:33:13Speaker 3: Detroit by seven and a half Detroit. I feel the excitement.
- 1:33:18Speaker 6: I'm gonna take Detroit, but I'm gonna take those points
- 1:33:21Speaker 6: from Green Bay because I'm terrible at picking with.
- 1:33:23Speaker 1: The spreads really are and that really it's as I mean,
- 1:33:26Speaker 1: the fact that you just made that pick. I'm just like,
- 1:33:29Speaker 1: that's why he's got the record.
- 1:33:30Speaker 3: He has got to stick with it.
- 1:33:31Speaker 1: Go ahead, Troit.
- 1:33:35Speaker 3: Do we have Alex's picks or am I just going
- 1:33:37Speaker 3: I don't not just go We'll get them from it.
- 1:33:39Speaker 3: I should probably check sometimes she sends them to me
- 1:33:41Speaker 3: on the slack.
- 1:33:42Speaker 5: So I have the Lions in this game. I was
- 1:33:46Speaker 5: pretty impressed by them last week. Just they could have
- 1:33:49Speaker 5: easily lost that. That could have been a dud and
- 1:33:51Speaker 5: they didn't come back in the fourth quarter. But I
- 1:33:54Speaker 5: like the Packers to cover this spread. Divisional game Island game.
- 1:33:59Speaker 3: I think the Packers keep it closed.
- 1:34:01Speaker 1: Rock Party or Jordan Love, Rock Pretty Brock, Jordan Love
- 1:34:07Speaker 1: or Matt Jones.
- 1:34:08Speaker 3: Who Mac Jones really? I think?
- 1:34:11Speaker 6: So wow, I might go to him.
- 1:34:14Speaker 1: Yeah, Jordan Love's starting to come on a little bit
- 1:34:16Speaker 1: and I need to see more Jordan Love.
- 1:34:18Speaker 6: Yeah, he's very sporadic. I mean, I'm just going off
- 1:34:20Speaker 6: what we watched in Green Bayan.
- 1:34:22Speaker 3: Jordan Love, he's played ten games. Yeah, you know Mac
- 1:34:24Speaker 3: Jones played three years, Right, I will take Detroit both ways.
- 1:34:28Speaker 3: I think that they bounced back because even though they
- 1:34:31Speaker 3: won the game, it's kind of like they lost, like
- 1:34:33Speaker 3: they played so bad that I think they got to
- 1:34:35Speaker 3: bounce back.
- 1:34:36Speaker 1: By the time the four thirty games starts. Are we
- 1:34:39Speaker 1: going to be sick of hearing about John Madden? Oh? No, no, Rip,
- 1:34:44Speaker 1: I know, but they're dedicating like the game to John Madden, aren't.
- 1:34:49Speaker 8: Oh?
- 1:34:49Speaker 1: Really? Yeah?
- 1:34:50Speaker 6: I thought it was Jimmy Jones. Johnson was going into
- 1:34:52Speaker 6: the ring.
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: I'm talking about. I'm talking about the broadcast, Jimmy broadcast.
- 1:34:58Speaker 3: Did you take Detroit? Did you ever make a for this?
- 1:35:00Speaker 1: Yeah? I told you you knew the kickout right down? Yeah,
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: four thirty on CBS, uh, four and seven Commanders at
- 1:35:09Speaker 1: the seven to three Cowboys.
- 1:35:12Speaker 3: Cowboys by twelve and a half.
- 1:35:13Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a big Dallas is what like.
- 1:35:15Speaker 6: Three weeks in a row, they've had like double digit spreads.
- 1:35:17Speaker 1: I feel like, and so.
- 1:35:20Speaker 3: Usually what I'm gonna ta. I know, you always accused
- 1:35:23Speaker 3: me of holding out information own somebody. They covered both
- 1:35:26Speaker 3: of those previous I know.
- 1:35:28Speaker 6: And I took it last week, but somehow I still
- 1:35:30Speaker 6: came out on the bottom. I'm gonna take Dallas and
- 1:35:32Speaker 6: I'm gonna lay those points.
- 1:35:34Speaker 3: I'm gonna take Dallas both ways. The Commanders, I they stink.
- 1:35:38Speaker 3: That's it. That's all I got. That's tweet. I will
- 1:35:41Speaker 3: take Dallas to win, but I will take the points.
- 1:35:43Speaker 3: I don't think Washington flat out stinks like they did
- 1:35:46Speaker 3: last week. I think they clean it up a little bit.
- 1:35:49Speaker 3: Twelve and a half is a lot Washington Thanksgiving. I
- 1:35:52Speaker 3: think they'll play a better game and keep it reasonably close.
- 1:35:55Speaker 1: Paul great minds. Think of like Cowboys win, but they
- 1:35:58Speaker 1: do not cover. So I'll take the hook. NBC eight,
- 1:36:03Speaker 1: twenty pm, the seven and three forty nine Ers, led
- 1:36:07Speaker 1: by Brock Purty are at the six and four Seahawks.
- 1:36:12Speaker 3: Niners by seven. Mike again on the road, in the
- 1:36:15Speaker 3: interest of not holding out information the whole weirdness of
- 1:36:20Speaker 3: the NFC West, the Seahawks own the Niners. I was
- 1:36:24Speaker 3: gonna say that. I thought that's what it was, but
- 1:36:26Speaker 3: I wasn't a hunger. I appreciate that information. Shams owned
- 1:36:28Speaker 3: the Seahawks, the Seahawks own the Niners, the Niners own
- 1:36:31Speaker 3: the Rams, and everybody owned. Everybody owns the Cardinals. It's
- 1:36:34Speaker 3: just a it's a circle.
- 1:36:35Speaker 1: Thing.
- 1:36:36Speaker 6: I'm gonna take San Francisco, but I'm gonna you know
- 1:36:39Speaker 6: what I mean, I'm gonna take the points though based
- 1:36:42Speaker 6: on Paul's information, I think it might be close.
- 1:36:44Speaker 3: But don't listen to me. We probably shouldn't. No, you
- 1:36:48Speaker 3: shouldn't it. I'm bad. I'm gonna take the forty nine
- 1:36:50Speaker 3: ers both ways. Yes, I am going to take San Francisco,
- 1:36:55Speaker 3: but I will take the point. Do you have any
- 1:36:58Speaker 3: injury information on Gino Smith? Because I don't feel great
- 1:37:01Speaker 3: about taking a point. He did finish that game, he did,
- 1:37:04Speaker 3: he did, no information. I'm gonna take the points. I'm
- 1:37:09Speaker 3: going to go with the whole Seattle own. San Francisco nonsense.
- 1:37:16Speaker 1: You would think that they'd give you stuff, right.
- 1:37:18Speaker 3: Yeah, so limited but looked good in practice, NFL limited
- 1:37:22Speaker 3: but looked good, just like just like wil Greer good beard, strong,
- 1:37:29Speaker 3: strong beard, great good tattoo game, So Fred does.
- 1:37:34Speaker 1: I am going to go with the Seahawks to cover
- 1:37:38Speaker 1: forty nine ers win. So I'm going to give Pete Carroll.
- 1:37:41Speaker 1: Pete Carroll Caro, one of the best coaches in the game,
- 1:37:44Speaker 1: just keeps re read you know, inventing that team.
- 1:37:48Speaker 3: Really good Cheers Your way to go five hundred really
- 1:37:50Speaker 3: cheers hired on this. There'll be sifter this.
- 1:37:53Speaker 1: He doesn't want to give credit to anyone.
- 1:37:58Speaker 6: What do you mean?
- 1:37:59Speaker 3: Rock party? He under forty years all to night, bash
- 1:38:01Speaker 3: him all the time.
- 1:38:03Speaker 1: Friday, the prime video game that we talked about earlier
- 1:38:07Speaker 1: at three pm Eastern, three pm Eastern, seven and three
- 1:38:11Speaker 1: Dolphins at the four and six Jets.
- 1:38:15Speaker 3: Miami by ten ten. Wow, Tim Boyle, boy I am
- 1:38:20Speaker 3: a little bit.
- 1:38:22Speaker 6: Tempted to take the points. I definitely think Miami is
- 1:38:24Speaker 6: gonna win, but I think Tim Boyle.
- 1:38:27Speaker 1: Nih Yeah, but the points, Tim Boyle shouldn't be the
- 1:38:30Speaker 1: factor of what you think is going to happen in
- 1:38:32Speaker 1: this game, because he's at least as good as the guy.
- 1:38:34Speaker 3: That's true.
- 1:38:35Speaker 1: He's replaced, that's true.
- 1:38:36Speaker 3: I think it was.
- 1:38:37Speaker 1: No, he's not.
- 1:38:38Speaker 3: They do this guy was horrifically bad in college, Tim Boyle, Yes,
- 1:38:43Speaker 3: get like three different places. I have no idea. Do
- 1:38:46Speaker 3: you know he never threw more touchdowns than interceptions? In college?
- 1:38:49Speaker 1: Oh?
- 1:38:49Speaker 3: Is that right?
- 1:38:50Speaker 1: Jeez?
- 1:38:50Speaker 6: They're just given starting jobs away these days.
- 1:38:52Speaker 3: About brock Purty, I mean, come on, exactly, Uh in
- 1:38:56Speaker 3: the interest do you pick? I did Miami and all
- 1:38:58Speaker 3: of the points of giving.
- 1:39:00Speaker 5: A credit to somebody that's over forty. Vic Fangio against
- 1:39:03Speaker 5: Tim Boyle is a one sided mismatch. I'm taking the
- 1:39:06Speaker 5: Dolphins both ways.
- 1:39:07Speaker 3: Yes I am as well.
- 1:39:08Speaker 1: Yeah, I guess I will too, all right. Sunday at
- 1:39:11Speaker 1: one on Fox, the five and five Saints are at
- 1:39:15Speaker 1: the four and six Falcons.
- 1:39:18Speaker 3: Atlanta by one. It's a handful of like one point
- 1:39:24Speaker 3: spreads this week. I don't like, I don't like. I
- 1:39:26Speaker 3: don't like those.
- 1:39:26Speaker 6: Basically A pick them, I'm gonna take. I'll take Atlanta
- 1:39:29Speaker 6: at home a lay a point.
- 1:39:32Speaker 3: Yeah, it looks like did you already say Desmond Riddle back? Yes, Yeah,
- 1:39:35Speaker 3: I'm gonna take.
- 1:39:36Speaker 5: I'm gonna take the Saints in this game because I
- 1:39:39Speaker 5: feel like when it comes to these types of games
- 1:39:41Speaker 5: where I don't feel good about either team, the Saints
- 1:39:43Speaker 5: find ways to win those types of games.
- 1:39:45Speaker 3: Taking the Saint Yeah, I'm gonna go with my boy
- 1:39:49Speaker 3: Bjon Robinson. If he gets the ball, they're gonna let
- 1:39:52Speaker 3: me give them him the ball a little bit more
- 1:39:54Speaker 3: this week. I'll take it. I'll take Atlanta.
- 1:39:57Speaker 1: I'm gonna go with the Saints to win this game.
- 1:40:00Speaker 3: I think we picked that game, right, Yeah, like no
- 1:40:04Speaker 3: New Orleans Atlanta one point spread two pick New Orleans
- 1:40:07Speaker 3: two picked Atlanta. I think we got that right.
- 1:40:11Speaker 1: One o'clock CBS six and four. Steelers start at these
- 1:40:15Speaker 1: five and five Burrow less Bengals Pittsburgh by one.
- 1:40:19Speaker 3: No Burrow, no Borough, no Burrough no Burrow. Can he
- 1:40:23Speaker 3: pick it?
- 1:40:23Speaker 6: I don't want to see poor Evan have to wait
- 1:40:25Speaker 6: until the Kenny Pickett mentions anymore.
- 1:40:27Speaker 3: It's just.
- 1:40:29Speaker 6: Well, in honor of Tamarrow, I'm gonna take Pittsburgh and
- 1:40:32Speaker 6: all later point Seattle Sinat reeling from the loss of
- 1:40:37Speaker 6: their quarter back.
- 1:40:38Speaker 3: And Pittsburgh probably reveling in the loss of their offensive quarterat.
- 1:40:41Speaker 3: There you go, that's true. I didn't think of that.
- 1:40:45Speaker 5: This is like, you know, because they could rally around
- 1:40:47Speaker 5: Jake Browning, but they also could rally around the offensive
- 1:40:49Speaker 5: coordinator thing.
- 1:40:50Speaker 3: So it's which rally do you want.
- 1:40:52Speaker 12: To go to?
- 1:40:52Speaker 3: They might fold our quarterbacks out. We're out of it.
- 1:40:54Speaker 3: We just need a good pick now, tank, I'm gonna go.
- 1:40:58Speaker 5: I'm gonna go with Pittsburgh, but reluctantly, I don't feel
- 1:41:01Speaker 5: good about it, and I'm gonna take uh Yeah, I'm
- 1:41:04Speaker 5: gonna go Pittsburgh both.
- 1:41:06Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm gonna take Pittsburgh too. I feel like Evan,
- 1:41:08Speaker 3: I don't feel great about it. This is strictly a
- 1:41:11Speaker 3: roll of the dice that they get a little bump
- 1:41:13Speaker 3: and losing a coordinator who evidently was really beyond bad Canada.
- 1:41:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, if Bengals weren't such a terrible organization,
- 1:41:20Speaker 1: I'd be picking them. But I'm gonna go with the
- 1:41:22Speaker 1: Steelers because I think they are gonna rally a little
- 1:41:25Speaker 1: bit more.
- 1:41:25Speaker 6: Chill Burl, Fred you can just know, I like, you
- 1:41:29Speaker 6: don't have no reason to like them anymore. He's out,
- 1:41:31Speaker 6: just trash them all.
- 1:41:32Speaker 1: Good point, good point, one o'clock CBS. This is a
- 1:41:36Speaker 1: good game. I know Paul doesn't like division games, but
- 1:41:39Speaker 1: these seven and three Jaguars are at these six and
- 1:41:41Speaker 1: four Texans.
- 1:41:43Speaker 3: Uh, Jacksonville by one and a half. This is a
- 1:41:47Speaker 3: good game with two up and coming teams. I'm gonna
- 1:41:49Speaker 3: go with would you say by one and a half? Yeah, Jacksonville.
- 1:41:52Speaker 6: I'm gonna take Jacksonville. I just I think they have
- 1:41:55Speaker 6: the better quarterback right now. But of course impressed with
- 1:41:57Speaker 6: what Houston's been doing. But I'll take Jacksonville to do
- 1:41:59Speaker 6: they maybe, you know, CJ.
- 1:42:02Speaker 3: Stroud.
- 1:42:03Speaker 5: I don't know about that, but I don't know where
- 1:42:06Speaker 5: I'm at. I think it's too early to crown the Stroud.
- 1:42:09Speaker 3: I agree you mean he's not the MVP.
- 1:42:10Speaker 5: He's not the MVP, but neither his Brookie of the Year,
- 1:42:13Speaker 5: Rookie of the Year. Definitely Rookie of the Year front
- 1:42:16Speaker 5: runner for sure. I'm gonna go to the Jags the
- 1:42:18Speaker 5: same reason with as Deuce. I just think that they're
- 1:42:21Speaker 5: more ready, you know, for these types of games, been
- 1:42:24Speaker 5: more battle tested, So I can take Jacksonville.
- 1:42:29Speaker 3: Heavy is the crown. Yeah, I'm gonna roll the dice.
- 1:42:34Speaker 3: I'm gonna take the home team. I'm gonna take Houston.
- 1:42:37Speaker 1: Okay, I'm gonna go with Trevor ride that bandwagon, Trevor Jackson.
- 1:42:44Speaker 1: Trevor Lawrence, gets a ton Trevor Jackson. Who am I thinking?
- 1:42:49Speaker 3: First names throw me off? Usually I can decide for you.
- 1:42:52Speaker 3: But he does have two first names.
- 1:42:56Speaker 1: Yes, so Jaguars and they cover at one and a half,
- 1:43:00Speaker 1: by the way, one o'clock, CBS four and six, Buccaneers
- 1:43:05Speaker 1: at the five and five Colts, Colts by two and
- 1:43:08Speaker 1: a half. Really jeez, I get I give Quoltes a
- 1:43:12Speaker 1: lot of credit for fighting this year.
- 1:43:14Speaker 3: Yeah, so they just they cut check just like that.
- 1:43:18Speaker 3: He's so all right? How did you go from like
- 1:43:20Speaker 3: one of the best guys in the league two years ago?
- 1:43:21Speaker 3: Now he can we can we waste thirty seconds on this?
- 1:43:25Speaker 3: He is okay, I'm hurry ding ding. How can you
- 1:43:30Speaker 3: possibly still, as a Patriots fan be advocating adding people?
- 1:43:35Speaker 3: Right as soon as this went down, someone in my like,
- 1:43:40Speaker 3: you know, commenting on my notes like sign Shack Leonard
- 1:43:43Speaker 3: now like all caps. I was like, really, like, forget
- 1:43:48Speaker 3: about what you think of Shack Leonard, what he used
- 1:43:51Speaker 3: as a player anymore. Like, let's just say for arguments
- 1:43:53Speaker 3: that he's still really good, right, Why would you want
- 1:43:56Speaker 3: to add that right now?
- 1:43:57Speaker 1: You're not doing anything?
- 1:43:59Speaker 6: And in the words of Evan, who was like, I
- 1:44:01Speaker 6: mean they got Jolie to b and Bentley, I guess
- 1:44:03Speaker 6: they're okay, and inside we're trying to suck like what
- 1:44:06Speaker 6: their needs are gonna be?
- 1:44:07Speaker 3: Like, I guess he hasn't started for the I mean
- 1:44:09Speaker 3: he's had a lot of injuries and stuff, but he
- 1:44:11Speaker 3: hasn't really even been a regular players. He went from
- 1:44:14Speaker 3: Darius to Shack. It all went down hill, right. I
- 1:44:17Speaker 3: was thinking about that. It's like you changed your name
- 1:44:19Speaker 3: and now you stay. And I know no one's gonna
- 1:44:22Speaker 3: no one's gonna claim them with their contract, just the
- 1:44:24Speaker 3: numbers that you still. Ye, now that contract is gonna
- 1:44:27Speaker 3: go away.
- 1:44:28Speaker 1: But remember when you were a kid, you go to
- 1:44:30Speaker 1: the story, Can I guess something? He got enough toys?
- 1:44:33Speaker 1: That's like you should be telling Patriots fans.
- 1:44:35Speaker 3: You got enough problems? What toys do? We have moved
- 1:44:39Speaker 3: through the season moment and just right, we got ninety
- 1:44:41Speaker 3: nine problems, But the middle of the linebacker ain't one.
- 1:44:44Speaker 6: Maybe Colts by two and a half, that's a tough one.
- 1:44:50Speaker 6: And I'm not gonna give them a bump for losing
- 1:44:52Speaker 6: Shack Darius Leonard. I'm gonna get Tampa, Tampa up, upset whatever.
- 1:44:58Speaker 5: I'm also taking the Bucks in this game. I think
- 1:45:00Speaker 5: the Bucks have been frisky, and I think Baker Mayfield
- 1:45:02Speaker 5: has been okay, and I just don't really think Ardner minche'
- 1:45:06Speaker 5: is very good.
- 1:45:06Speaker 3: So I'm going Bucks. I agree about Minchew, but I'm
- 1:45:09Speaker 3: gonna take the Colts. I just think they're better at
- 1:45:11Speaker 3: home and they find a way to get the win
- 1:45:12Speaker 3: coming off the.
- 1:45:13Speaker 1: By Yeah, I'm gonna go with the Colts. They found
- 1:45:16Speaker 1: their stride last week.
- 1:45:17Speaker 3: And so it cracks me up that he still says
- 1:45:20Speaker 3: things like that. They won their Super Bowl last week.
- 1:45:23Speaker 1: They got a lot of.
- 1:45:23Speaker 3: Confidence out of that.
- 1:45:24Speaker 1: So I'm gonna go with the Coats.
- 1:45:28Speaker 3: Well, the worst games in the history of the league.
- 1:45:30Speaker 1: Sunday at one on Fox, the one and nine Panthers
- 1:45:33Speaker 1: are at the three and seven Titans.
- 1:45:36Speaker 3: Titans by three and a half.
- 1:45:38Speaker 6: Oh boy, no, now this is one folks. God, I mean,
- 1:45:42Speaker 6: we're kind of rooting for Carolina here, sure are. I
- 1:45:46Speaker 6: don't think they got it in them though. I'm gonna
- 1:45:47Speaker 6: go Tennessee at home, and I will I'm gonna lay
- 1:45:51Speaker 6: the points.
- 1:45:53Speaker 5: I'm gonna pick with my my heart here and I'm
- 1:45:55Speaker 5: picking the upset. I'm picking the Carolina Panthers.
- 1:45:58Speaker 3: Who did you pick? I picked the Tennessee t Tons.
- 1:46:01Speaker 5: I am picking the Panthers. I think that the Titans,
- 1:46:04Speaker 5: I think they might be be be giving up a
- 1:46:07Speaker 5: little bit.
- 1:46:08Speaker 3: I think they're yeah, And that's why I'm a little
- 1:46:10Speaker 3: like surprised, Like I think Caroline is going to be
- 1:46:13Speaker 3: like a two or three win team Tennessee is right
- 1:46:16Speaker 3: with you. You can't afford to have them lose games
- 1:46:18Speaker 3: like this, Like that could put Tennessee ahead of the Patriots.
- 1:46:22Speaker 1: You could look at it that way.
- 1:46:24Speaker 3: Yeah, Like I don't. I think it's gonna be hard
- 1:46:26Speaker 3: to finish behind Carolina.
- 1:46:27Speaker 6: In other words, you you have this philosophy a lot
- 1:46:30Speaker 6: like even with standings like if the if a team
- 1:46:31Speaker 6: is just too far away, just let him go.
- 1:46:35Speaker 3: Yeah, send them out to pastor. I think Carolina is
- 1:46:38Speaker 3: really like terrible. That's a team that tanked, like they
- 1:46:41Speaker 3: got rid of a lot of players in the offseason.
- 1:46:44Speaker 3: I'm gonna I'm with Evan. I think Caroline is gonna
- 1:46:46Speaker 3: win this game. I think the Will Levis thing, you know,
- 1:46:49Speaker 3: that one little bump they had. I told you when
- 1:46:52Speaker 3: I watched some of the highlights, it didn't look like
- 1:46:53Speaker 3: it was quote sustainable. It hasn't been. He's been a disaster.
- 1:46:58Speaker 1: Yeah. I want the Panthers to win, but I think
- 1:47:00Speaker 1: the Titans are going to win this game.
- 1:47:02Speaker 3: So I'm looking at you, Mike Fraebel.
- 1:47:05Speaker 1: All right, now, we skip over the Patriots crying at
- 1:47:08Speaker 1: one o'clock and we go to four oh five. The
- 1:47:12Speaker 1: four and six Rams are at the two and nine.
- 1:47:15Speaker 3: Cardinals Cardinals by one, which Wow, somebody was a strange.
- 1:47:22Speaker 6: Somebody owns somebody in this.
- 1:47:24Speaker 1: Yeah, the Sharps know something here.
- 1:47:26Speaker 3: The Rams own the Cardinals. Everybody everybody owns.
- 1:47:29Speaker 1: The Sharps know something.
- 1:47:31Speaker 3: The Rams, Well Kyler Murray's back, don't forget.
- 1:47:33Speaker 1: Yeah that that doesn't they know that.
- 1:47:35Speaker 3: Yeah, for the third for the third game they are
- 1:47:37Speaker 3: going to play.
- 1:47:38Speaker 1: They know it.
- 1:47:38Speaker 3: They better there's Sharps.
- 1:47:40Speaker 6: I'm going to take the Rams and I'll lay the
- 1:47:41Speaker 6: point which one half one one.
- 1:47:44Speaker 3: Yeah, they're getting points. Cardinals favor give me, give it
- 1:47:48Speaker 3: to me.
- 1:47:49Speaker 5: I'm dodn't take the Cardinals. I think the Cardinals are
- 1:47:53Speaker 5: They're surprisingly better than I thought they would be, and
- 1:47:57Speaker 5: maybe a team that kind of like the Lions where
- 1:47:59Speaker 5: they finish the year off a little bit strong and
- 1:48:02Speaker 5: are a team that people like next year with what
- 1:48:04Speaker 5: they're I don't know.
- 1:48:05Speaker 3: They play hard, for Gannon, they're a model in tanking. Yeah,
- 1:48:08Speaker 3: they play hard and they're in every game and they
- 1:48:10Speaker 3: find a way to lose it. Yeah, it's a model
- 1:48:12Speaker 3: in tanking. I like the Cardinals. It's a tankthon is
- 1:48:14Speaker 3: that their website.
- 1:48:16Speaker 1: Yeah, take a palooza, that's what the kids call it.
- 1:48:18Speaker 3: Yeah, I'll take the I'm gonna take the Rams. Yeah,
- 1:48:23Speaker 3: I don't feel great about it. They're both of these
- 1:48:25Speaker 3: teams are struggling.
- 1:48:26Speaker 1: I'm gonna go with the Cardinals, partly because.
- 1:48:31Speaker 3: You want you want to root against Matthew Stafford, so
- 1:48:33Speaker 3: you make fun of it.
- 1:48:34Speaker 1: I get it, and I want the Cardinals to get
- 1:48:35Speaker 1: that third loss. Uh four oh five, Fox, seven and three.
- 1:48:40Speaker 1: Browns are at the five and five Broncos.
- 1:48:45Speaker 3: Denver by one and a half. What has suddenly become
- 1:48:47Speaker 3: an interesting game in the AFC. Right, they're an interesting
- 1:48:50Speaker 3: team Denver. Yeah, all of a sudden, the defense has
- 1:48:52Speaker 3: played much better.
- 1:48:53Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm gonna go with the quarterback at home, I'll
- 1:48:56Speaker 6: take I'll take the Broncos just TTR, it's not happening.
- 1:49:02Speaker 5: I'm also gonna take the Broncos. But vance Joseph having
- 1:49:05Speaker 5: the time of his life running the Brown the Broncos
- 1:49:08Speaker 5: defense lately, and I just think that defense, really, I
- 1:49:12Speaker 5: think they actually have some good players on that defense too.
- 1:49:14Speaker 3: I don't think it's just you know, smoking mirrors.
- 1:49:16Speaker 1: And they play home every week.
- 1:49:17Speaker 5: And they home every week and Russell Wilson's a big advantage.
- 1:49:21Speaker 5: It is the Russ magic stuff is gone, but he's
- 1:49:24Speaker 5: at least functioning in the offense at this point.
- 1:49:26Speaker 3: So I like the Broncos. Yeah, I watched pretty much
- 1:49:30Speaker 3: wire to wire that game the other night against Minnesota.
- 1:49:33Speaker 3: They they made they made some plays. I mean they
- 1:49:36Speaker 3: they were really good when they had to be down
- 1:49:39Speaker 3: the stretch in a game that they were kind of
- 1:49:41Speaker 3: getting out played for the most part. And to your point,
- 1:49:44Speaker 3: like Russell Wilson made some plays when he had to,
- 1:49:46Speaker 3: some big time throws on fourth down and Courtland Sutton
- 1:49:50Speaker 3: came up big. I think they're gonna keep it going
- 1:49:52Speaker 3: with Jerry.
- 1:49:53Speaker 1: I am gonna go with the Broncos as well. Sean
- 1:49:56Speaker 1: Payton's kind of getting back into the groove.
- 1:49:59Speaker 3: There was a moment this could get them over five hundred.
- 1:50:01Speaker 1: Yeah, there was a moment they were like, is he
- 1:50:03Speaker 1: a still able to do it? But he's got He's
- 1:50:05Speaker 1: got them back on the right track. Four to twenty
- 1:50:08Speaker 1: five CBS seven and three Chiefs are at the five
- 1:50:11Speaker 1: and seat five and six Raiders.
- 1:50:14Speaker 3: Kansas City by eight and a half, eight and a half.
- 1:50:17Speaker 6: I am I'm definitely going with the Chiefs in this one,
- 1:50:20Speaker 6: and I think I'm gonna lay the points. I like
- 1:50:22Speaker 6: them to bounce back after that lost to Philadelphia. They'll
- 1:50:25Speaker 6: catch them passes and the Raiders will lose.
- 1:50:28Speaker 3: I'll catch some paths they didn't. They didn't catch the
- 1:50:31Speaker 3: passes fast facts.
- 1:50:33Speaker 5: I like the Chiefs as well both ways, but they
- 1:50:37Speaker 5: are so six twenty thirteen patriotsy it's not even funny.
- 1:50:42Speaker 3: But in these types of games, I still like the Chiefs.
- 1:50:45Speaker 3: I will take Kansas City, but on the road Division game,
- 1:50:48Speaker 3: I'll take eight and a half.
- 1:50:50Speaker 1: I'm with Paul. Chiefs win, but they don't cover. Raiders
- 1:50:54Speaker 1: cover four to twenty five CBS six and five Bills
- 1:50:59Speaker 1: at the nine one Eagle.
- 1:51:01Speaker 3: Good matchup. Eagles by three and a half.
- 1:51:07Speaker 6: I don't wish I could say the Buffalo is gonna
- 1:51:10Speaker 6: continue to bounce back. I think this is a reality
- 1:51:12Speaker 6: check for them. They still got problems. I'm gonna take
- 1:51:14Speaker 6: the Eagles and lay the points.
- 1:51:16Speaker 3: I'm with Deuce.
- 1:51:17Speaker 5: I think that the Eagles are a weird team to
- 1:51:20Speaker 5: me still, I don't know if they're they're really playing,
- 1:51:23Speaker 5: but they're they're roster talent, and everything just seems so
- 1:51:26Speaker 5: much better than everybody else's I'm taking the Eagles.
- 1:51:29Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm gonna take Buffalo both ways, mostly because Philadelphia
- 1:51:34Speaker 3: is coming off that emotional Monday night road winning Cancs's
- 1:51:37Speaker 3: sitting Nick Sirianni after that, Yeah, I thought it was
- 1:51:39Speaker 3: embarrassing cool, So I think that obviously meant a lot
- 1:51:42Speaker 3: to them based on that, and like, rather than just
- 1:51:45Speaker 3: have it be a regular season business trip, I think
- 1:51:48Speaker 3: they put a lot into it, and that's the biggest
- 1:51:50Speaker 3: reason I'm taking Buffalo. But I do fear the Eagles
- 1:51:53Speaker 3: just powering up and running it right down Buffalo's throat.
- 1:51:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean the Eagles are a weird team, like
- 1:51:58Speaker 1: there often seems hitchy to me. You know, maybe that's
- 1:52:00Speaker 1: because of.
- 1:52:01Speaker 3: Her close a team that could sign Chapel.
- 1:52:03Speaker 1: But they are so much talent throwout, They're very They're
- 1:52:07Speaker 1: a balanced team. So I'm gonna take the Eagles to
- 1:52:10Speaker 1: beat the Bills and the Bills dropping to six and
- 1:52:12Speaker 1: six and that window continues to close.
- 1:52:14Speaker 3: Yeah, you ain't lying because you see the rest of
- 1:52:16Speaker 3: their schedule.
- 1:52:17Speaker 1: They got a heart schedule.
- 1:52:18Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like Philly, Miami on the road, Kansas City,
- 1:52:23Speaker 3: Pittsburgh on the road.
- 1:52:24Speaker 5: Day if they don't pull it together, they legitimately might
- 1:52:27Speaker 5: not make the playoffs.
- 1:52:28Speaker 3: Oh yeah, they're in major major Troup.
- 1:52:31Speaker 1: Eight twenty and be sure. The eight and three Ravens
- 1:52:35Speaker 1: are at the four and six Chargers.
- 1:52:39Speaker 3: Baltimore by three and a half.
- 1:52:41Speaker 6: Yeah, I think I think the Chargers are really struggling
- 1:52:44Speaker 6: right now. I'm going to take Baltimore the I mean,
- 1:52:46Speaker 6: they might be the best team in the AFC.
- 1:52:49Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm taking Baltimore. I can't believe it's only three
- 1:52:52Speaker 5: and a half. I'm taking Baltimore.
- 1:52:55Speaker 3: I am going to take Baltimore, but I'm going to
- 1:52:57Speaker 3: take the hook.
- 1:53:00Speaker 1: Right, I'm gonna take Baltimore both ways, all right. Monday Night, ESPN, ABC,
- 1:53:05Speaker 1: ESPN Deportes. Three and eight Bears are at the six
- 1:53:10Speaker 1: and five Vikings.
- 1:53:12Speaker 3: Minnesota by three and a half.
- 1:53:15Speaker 6: Justin Fields he's back. Oh boy, I'm gonna I'm gonna
- 1:53:19Speaker 6: go with the home team. Tough to get a read
- 1:53:21Speaker 6: on where these teams are headed right now. I'll take
- 1:53:24Speaker 6: Minnesota lay the points.
- 1:53:26Speaker 3: I'm gonna take the home team too.
- 1:53:29Speaker 5: But I actually thought the Bears played pretty well last week,
- 1:53:32Speaker 5: and Justin Field's played pretty well, So I'm gonna take
- 1:53:35Speaker 5: the Bears to cover, but I'm gonna take Minnesota win.
- 1:53:38Speaker 3: Yeah, for the one hundred and eleventh time since Justin
- 1:53:40Speaker 3: Field has been the quarterback of the Bears. I'm gonna
- 1:53:42Speaker 3: take the Bears to win outright, and they're not going to,
- 1:53:44Speaker 3: but I'm gonna take one.
- 1:53:45Speaker 1: I'm gonna take the Bears too, like. I just think
- 1:53:48Speaker 1: that eventually he's gonna get it and maybe they'll pull
- 1:53:52Speaker 1: out the win. One o'clock. We go back to Sunday
- 1:53:56Speaker 1: at one and it's the two and eight Patriots visiting
- 1:54:00Speaker 1: MetLife to face the three and eight Giants.
- 1:54:04Speaker 3: What a game, Patriots by three and a half.
- 1:54:08Speaker 6: Three and a half. Well, I'm gonna take the Giants
- 1:54:12Speaker 6: just I wish I could take the Patriots. Too much uncertainty.
- 1:54:14Speaker 6: We don't know who's going to start a quarterback. We
- 1:54:16Speaker 6: saw the Giants we're able to, you know, produce some
- 1:54:18Speaker 6: big plays. That's been a problem for the Patriots too.
- 1:54:20Speaker 6: I'm worried that those will be a problem this weekend
- 1:54:22Speaker 6: for them. I like the Giants to score enough to
- 1:54:25Speaker 6: make it happen, but it's gonna still be a low
- 1:54:27Speaker 6: scoring game. I will take the Giants nineteen sixteen.
- 1:54:32Speaker 5: I also like the Giants, I just don't know who's
- 1:54:35Speaker 5: going to be at quarterback. I don't know if they
- 1:54:37Speaker 5: know who's going to be at quarterback. And Mama's Boys
- 1:54:39Speaker 5: at least playing quarterback for the Giants, they have a
- 1:54:42Speaker 5: little bit as you know, continuity there. I think it's
- 1:54:46Speaker 5: sixteen to thirteen Giants.
- 1:54:49Speaker 3: Can't wait to watch this one. I am going to
- 1:54:52Speaker 3: have some faith bred that the Giants will make enough
- 1:54:55Speaker 3: mistakes for the Patriots to win. I'm gonna say it's
- 1:55:00Speaker 3: going to be a field goal fest, and I have
- 1:55:03Speaker 3: the same score as my nineteen to sixteen Patriots, So
- 1:55:07Speaker 3: I will take the Patriots to win, but I'll take
- 1:55:09Speaker 3: in the hook.
- 1:55:11Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, I kind of hope you're right, Paul, and
- 1:55:15Speaker 1: I kind of hope you're wrong. It's one of those
- 1:55:17Speaker 1: seasons for Patris, I understand, but I'm gonna go with
- 1:55:20Speaker 1: the Giants to win at home. Twenty to thirteen. Twenty
- 1:55:25Speaker 1: to thirteen Giants.
- 1:55:26Speaker 3: That has to be the first time in the history
- 1:55:28Speaker 3: of the Illustrious Picks Contest that Paul was the only
- 1:55:30Speaker 3: one to take the Patriots.
- 1:55:32Speaker 1: Just you're very positive. You can wear that badge of
- 1:55:34Speaker 1: honor for the rest of the week.
- 1:55:35Speaker 3: I'm proud of that, all right.
