- 0:00Speaker 1: This week on Stay Out of My Fridge.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Like tilted to the left, a little bit little left.
- 0:06Speaker 1: I was gonna say, if you go to a little
- 0:07Speaker 1: bit to the right, then you call that the Scott
- 0:09Speaker 1: Norwood ooh Burn Bills fans. Those Bills fans, they get
- 0:13Speaker 1: that big dub against the Chiefs, which you know, maybe
- 0:18Speaker 1: they're in Kansas City now, maybe they have to change
- 0:20Speaker 1: their name someday, who knows, so you know how they're
- 0:24Speaker 1: all doing the name changing culture. If the Chiefs were terrible,
- 0:28Speaker 1: do you think they'd have to change their name potentially?
- 0:31Speaker 2: I've heard who was it that said the Chiefs are
- 0:34Speaker 2: America's team now or some shit like that.
- 0:35Speaker 1: Oh my god, Yeah, whoever.
- 0:38Speaker 2: Said, yeah, at the very least, the Lions are America's
- 0:42Speaker 2: team right now? Dude? Do you know what I mean?
- 0:44Speaker 1: Who I mean? I think eighty percent of people whose
- 0:48Speaker 1: teams think not gonna make playoffs, not gonna win, they
- 0:52Speaker 1: have to be rooting for the Lions. I am rooting
- 0:55Speaker 1: for the Lions, like that's secretly always kind of like
- 0:59Speaker 1: I'm a Steelers, that's my team, all right, But I've
- 1:02Speaker 1: always had like an NFC team and it's kind of
- 1:05Speaker 1: always been them because I got a buddy who's who's
- 1:08Speaker 1: a chiropractor now. Is the only legit Dieharden Lions fan
- 1:13Speaker 1: that I know in my life has been since we
- 1:15Speaker 1: were since I first met him. Granted he had you know,
- 1:18Speaker 1: he grew up with a Barry Sanders and the retirement,
- 1:20Speaker 1: that whole thing, but he is the only one. So
- 1:23Speaker 1: for like his sake, it's like I root for Nebraska
- 1:26Speaker 1: for you, you know what I mean, can't you've been though,
- 1:29Speaker 1: I'm not room for any of his goddamn teams.
- 1:31Speaker 2: What's what's wild about it, dude, is I don't think
- 1:32Speaker 2: people really truly even last year. They went last year
- 1:35Speaker 2: to the playoffs, won two games, lost in the conference
- 1:37Speaker 2: championship game, clearly, right, yep. But I don't think people
- 1:40Speaker 2: truly grasp how putred the Lions franchise has been. I mean,
- 1:45Speaker 2: I'm looking at the record right here. Last year's playoff
- 1:47Speaker 2: win was the first win they've had in the playoffs
- 1:49Speaker 2: since nineteen ninety one. But that ninety one win, which
- 1:53Speaker 2: was just a divisional win and then they lost the
- 1:55Speaker 2: next week, was the first time they had won in
- 1:56Speaker 2: the playoffs since the fifties. So we're talking one. We're
- 1:59Speaker 2: talking three playoff wins. I don't know why I give
- 2:01Speaker 2: you this number, since since for seventy years, I mean,
- 2:05Speaker 2: so like this team has been You want to talk
- 2:07Speaker 2: about the Browns, Yes, I'll give you the Browns, but
- 2:09Speaker 2: the Lions are right up there with them.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Man, you aren't kidding. And I mean they just there
- 2:16Speaker 1: was so many years they just didn't even have talent.
- 2:18Speaker 1: It seemed like, I mean, you could probably go back
- 2:20Speaker 1: to any team in the two thousands, you know, the
- 2:23Speaker 1: early twenty tens, which is weird to say. Definitely. You know,
- 2:26Speaker 1: after Barry Sanders, you probably couldn't name more than five
- 2:30Speaker 1: players on the team, you know, and they're the worst
- 2:32Speaker 1: part is they're getting top picks and then you know,
- 2:35Speaker 1: you got guys like Sue and some other ones that
- 2:37Speaker 1: just don't pan out. You know. It's kind of like
- 2:39Speaker 1: being a pirates man. They always stink now and they're
- 2:42Speaker 1: I'm not getting talent.
- 2:43Speaker 2: I got to give you because I'm a Nebraska fan.
- 2:45Speaker 2: What do you mean Sue didn't pan out? Because he
- 2:47Speaker 2: some people are saying he's a Hall of Famer.
- 2:50Speaker 1: I mean as far as like having him on the
- 2:52Speaker 1: field didn't lead them to becoming you know, he was only.
- 2:56Speaker 2: There for like six years. I think he left No
- 2:59Speaker 2: Point Tech in Point Tech.
- 3:00Speaker 1: So he is a phenomenal and was great there. But
- 3:03Speaker 1: I mean he was in franchise changing, which one guy
- 3:07Speaker 1: shouldn't and couldn't be able to change a franchise, right, Yep,
- 3:10Speaker 1: it's true. I mean, like I said, I don't know
- 3:12Speaker 1: when did he get drafted? Probably nine, twenty ten.
- 3:17Speaker 2: Yep. So looking at the Browns. Here the Browns playoff
- 3:23Speaker 2: record in the same time period. Since nineteen ninety one,
- 3:26Speaker 2: they've only had two playoff victories. That's one less than
- 3:29Speaker 2: the Lions.
- 3:30Speaker 1: Ye, but one was the last year with friggin Fleco,
- 3:32Speaker 1: isn't it.
- 3:33Speaker 2: Yeah, you know twenty twenty they went last year and
- 3:37Speaker 2: lost to the Houston, But twenty twenty for the last
- 3:40Speaker 2: playoff victory against the Steelers. So before that though, I'll
- 3:47Speaker 2: give you this. Here are their playoff losses the Browns
- 3:51Speaker 2: going back two thousand and two to the Steelers nineteen
- 3:54Speaker 2: ninety four. Yeah, I know, we're going way back to
- 3:56Speaker 2: the Steelers before that, eighty nine Broncos, eighty seven Broncos,
- 4:00Speaker 2: eighty six Broncos.
- 4:02Speaker 1: So they can only beat two two different teams barely
- 4:07Speaker 1: or only played two or different teams in playoffs.
- 4:09Speaker 2: They've got to hate them. They clearly hate the Steelers.
- 4:11Speaker 2: It's a division.
- 4:12Speaker 1: I mean it was pretty evident in the in the
- 4:14Speaker 1: game that Thursday night game last week. I mean, I
- 4:18Speaker 1: do have to you know, I gotta throw this out there.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Tony from the Dude Network, huge Cleveland fan. I was
- 4:24Speaker 1: expecting ah bunch at text messages during that game. You know,
- 4:28Speaker 1: obviously they beat them, And I was like, in my brain,
- 4:33Speaker 1: it's like, do I respond with this? Do I respond? No,
- 4:35Speaker 1: I'm just not going to respond, And he didn't send
- 4:37Speaker 1: a single message. Like the next day he's like, hey,
- 4:39Speaker 1: what was that Sound of the Month and whatever. He's like,
- 4:42Speaker 1: I gotta i gotta re up some oil because there's
- 4:44Speaker 1: a sale. And I'm like thinking, all right, he's gonna
- 4:46Speaker 1: gently figure out how to talk shit about the Steelers.
- 4:50Speaker 1: But it just shows you in the NFL, like it
- 4:53Speaker 1: doesn't matter if you are the shittiest team. You can
- 4:55Speaker 1: still go out and beat the team you shouldn't, right,
- 4:58Speaker 1: but you never really and especially a rivalry game. Those
- 5:01Speaker 1: guys hate each other, absolutely hate each other. When when
- 5:04Speaker 1: Cleveland acts like they win a Super Bowl by beating
- 5:07Speaker 1: the Steelers. You know that, And shout out to those fans.
- 5:11Speaker 1: I mean that weather seemed to come out of nowhere.
- 5:13Speaker 1: It was a white out, people still not wearing shirts
- 5:17Speaker 1: getting shown on camera. That place was packed right until
- 5:21Speaker 1: the end on a Thursday night, shitty weather, Like, shout
- 5:25Speaker 1: out to them. I mean that that was it was.
- 5:28Speaker 1: It was fun to watch kind of but not really. Obviously,
- 5:32Speaker 1: you don't like to watch your team lose. But I'm
- 5:34Speaker 1: not one of those guys like they lose and it
- 5:37Speaker 1: ruins my entire week, Like I don't care that much.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Maybe I'm not a true fan then I guess, but
- 5:41Speaker 1: I mean it's it's I hate saying this, but it's
- 5:44Speaker 1: just sports. It's entertainment.
- 5:46Speaker 2: I'll say this too, that there's no other football. I
- 5:51Speaker 2: mean that is a quarts essential football game. That is
- 5:55Speaker 2: kind of that snowy. I mean, you give me snow,
- 5:59Speaker 2: you give me fall, you give me mud, you give
- 6:01Speaker 2: me rain, you give me something that causes the players
- 6:04Speaker 2: to not have their full speed or look at like
- 6:08Speaker 2: it's just you love it, you love to see it.
- 6:10Speaker 1: It's amazing and watching grown ass men play a game
- 6:14Speaker 1: as if it was like a as like a pee
- 6:16Speaker 1: wee game or something. You know what I mean. They're
- 6:18Speaker 1: doing snow angels after the game.
- 6:20Speaker 2: You know what I mean.
- 6:21Speaker 1: They're throwing snowballs at each other and also shout out
- 6:24Speaker 1: to Cleveland. I don't know why we're giving shout out,
- 6:26Speaker 1: but either way, props. I guess to them to be
- 6:29Speaker 1: instantly prepared. It was like the snow started. Then within
- 6:32Speaker 1: ten minutes it was a complete white out. They got
- 6:34Speaker 1: the shovels ready. They're shoveling the lines. I mean, those
- 6:38Speaker 1: guys busted their as during the game. And that's a
- 6:40Speaker 1: lot of things that I think a lot of people
- 6:42Speaker 1: don't really see. And crazy game. Man. I don't know
- 6:46Speaker 1: if you watched it or not, but I was. I
- 6:48Speaker 1: guess what would you have done? I mean, in hindsight
- 6:50Speaker 1: when the game goes there. But Tomlin had that tough decision.
- 6:53Speaker 1: They so it's Cleveland has the ball. They're kind of
- 6:57Speaker 1: like thirty five forty you would say field goal range,
- 7:00Speaker 1: but not because of the weather. They're clearly going for it.
- 7:03Speaker 1: They get a penalty and it's either third and seven
- 7:06Speaker 1: or fourth and two. Right, they don't get it. Games over,
- 7:11Speaker 1: Tomlin declines it, but then the refs come over and
- 7:13Speaker 1: kind of explain it a little bit more. He then
- 7:15Speaker 1: reverses his decision takes the five yard penalty. So now
- 7:19Speaker 1: it's third and seven, it's fourth down territory. They get
- 7:22Speaker 1: two chances at it. So now you're essentially a fourth
- 7:25Speaker 1: and two in that area. You're you know, they've been run, run, run, run.
- 7:28Speaker 1: It's either run play action more than likely. Right right, Well,
- 7:32Speaker 1: now it's third and seven. You open that playbook up.
- 7:34Speaker 1: They call a great play receiver wide open, first down,
- 7:38Speaker 1: run down. Then they end up winning the game. Steelers
- 7:41Speaker 1: get the ball back with less than a minute. You know,
- 7:43Speaker 1: Russell Wilson moves the ball, they get a chance at
- 7:46Speaker 1: the end zone. Hail Mary's. I mean, unless you're you know,
- 7:50Speaker 1: the Washington Commanders or Aaron Rodgers throughout his career, you're
- 7:53Speaker 1: not You're not winning that game.
- 7:55Speaker 2: But yeah, it's it sounded like a tough game any
- 7:59Speaker 2: time and you're the Steelers and you lose to the
- 8:01Speaker 2: fuck I mean, it's never a good thing.
- 8:03Speaker 1: Ye and me like it's like, oh my god, they
- 8:05Speaker 1: loft of the Browns or two. But at the end
- 8:07Speaker 1: of the day, it's like Steelers as still eight and
- 8:08Speaker 1: three you know what I mean. As long as they
- 8:10Speaker 1: don't have a complete meltdown, they're probably gonna make the playoffs,
- 8:13Speaker 1: which you know, that's what you want to do. And
- 8:15Speaker 1: then they're probably gonna lose first round and just end
- 8:18Speaker 1: up with a mediocre pick that they'll trade to Philly
- 8:20Speaker 1: or somebody. But either way, like I said to me,
- 8:26Speaker 1: sports is and entertainment, it's a love Sunday. We record,
- 8:29Speaker 1: we chat with a boys, we watch the football, and
- 8:31Speaker 1: today is one of those days where you just you know,
- 8:35Speaker 1: and a lot of people you know that say they're
- 8:36Speaker 1: busy don't really know. But today's one of those days
- 8:39Speaker 1: that I have to be in two places at the
- 8:41Speaker 1: same time, hours away. So it's me and the wife.
- 8:46Speaker 1: We have to divide in conquer. She goes one thing
- 8:48Speaker 1: for one family party. I go one way for the
- 8:50Speaker 1: other family party, and it's like where is she? Where
- 8:53Speaker 1: is he? And it's like, can't be in two places
- 8:55Speaker 1: at once? Why can't we coordinate a little better? Fans?
- 8:59Speaker 2: Right, right, I've got an event today that I got
- 9:01Speaker 2: to get to and don't want to go to. But
- 9:04Speaker 2: you know how it goes. Do you want to say
- 9:06Speaker 2: two things before we move on from the Browns. You
- 9:09Speaker 2: guys have two weeks from today before you play them again,
- 9:12Speaker 2: because of course NFL divisional games, you have another shot.
- 9:16Speaker 2: And secondly, if you look back, I mean, and people
- 9:19Speaker 2: realize this if they're Browns fans or if they're fans
- 9:21Speaker 2: of the NFL. Before the merger, forty six, forty seven,
- 9:25Speaker 2: forty eight, forty nine and fifty five years in a row,
- 9:28Speaker 2: the NFL champions were the Cleveland Browns, which is unbelievable.
- 9:32Speaker 2: And then you know, we're talking back in Auto Graham's time,
- 9:36Speaker 2: not you know, you know, with Johnny Unitas or there
- 9:39Speaker 2: wasn't quite the NFL talent that we have these days, right,
- 9:42Speaker 2: And then they lost in fifty one, they lost in
- 9:45Speaker 2: fifty two, they lost in fifty three. In the championship,
- 9:48Speaker 2: they won in fifty four and fifty five. So basically
- 9:51Speaker 2: ten straight years they went to the NFL championship game.
- 9:54Speaker 1: That is unbelievable.
- 9:56Speaker 2: They lost it looks like three and one six that's
- 10:00Speaker 2: not right sone anyway.
- 10:04Speaker 1: But there was only thirteen teams roughly about ben so
- 10:09Speaker 1: I mean your chances were a little bit better.
- 10:11Speaker 2: And I mean back then, I mean, even to the seventies,
- 10:14Speaker 2: you would have the college All star team that was
- 10:19Speaker 2: picked by a committee or a group of coaches. They
- 10:22Speaker 2: would play the Super Bowl champions. I don't know if
- 10:24Speaker 2: you ever remember those.
- 10:24Speaker 1: Those are crazy came I remember that because everybody always
- 10:30Speaker 1: says that, and I've always said it, like, huh, you know,
- 10:33Speaker 1: Alabama on their day they could destroy the Panthers, or
- 10:36Speaker 1: why wouldn't they, you know, take the best team and
- 10:38Speaker 1: play that. Now it is very apparent that there is
- 10:40Speaker 1: not a goddamn chance at a Super Bowl champion and
- 10:43Speaker 1: a college football champion should be on the same field together.
- 10:46Speaker 1: I do think it would be cool as a charity
- 10:49Speaker 1: game or now that college kids can make money, I
- 10:52Speaker 1: think that'd be awesome. Take the worst team in the
- 10:54Speaker 1: NFL after their last game, play after the college championship
- 10:58Speaker 1: for X amount of money. You know what I mean.
- 11:00Speaker 1: College kids win, they get this amount of money, and
- 11:03Speaker 1: if the NFL team wins, give those guys a little
- 11:05Speaker 1: bit of extra money. It's like the NBA playing or
- 11:07Speaker 1: the nd season tournament. You know, they go, those guys
- 11:09Speaker 1: win it, they each get it like half a million dollars.
- 11:12Speaker 1: That's more than some of the contracts of these people.
- 11:14Speaker 1: So the NFL guys with a low contract make some money.
- 11:17Speaker 1: These college kids got a chance to make that would sell.
- 11:20Speaker 1: I think it seld pretty good.
- 11:22Speaker 2: So there were forty one games played between nineteen thirty
- 11:26Speaker 2: four and nineteen seventy six, and the NFL was thirty
- 11:31Speaker 2: nine and two mmm, so it looked like the NFL
- 11:38Speaker 2: had in law. The last time the College All Stars
- 11:40Speaker 2: beat the NFL team was College All Stars won in
- 11:44Speaker 2: nineteen sixty three against the Packers twenty to seventeen.
- 11:47Speaker 1: Ooh, interesting. I bet you though an All Star team
- 11:53Speaker 1: with the proper amount of you know, training and practicing
- 11:58Speaker 1: together could have a chance that you know, that'd be fun.
- 12:01Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean. And the reason it stopped was there
- 12:05Speaker 2: was some very big problems NFL coaches had with their
- 12:09Speaker 2: new draftees playing in a game and potentially getting injured.
- 12:12Speaker 2: And one guy did I'm just reading this up. I
- 12:14Speaker 2: didn't know this beforehand. Don't think I'm some no at all.
- 12:17Speaker 2: But a guy named Dick Rifenberg, which is a great
- 12:19Speaker 2: name out of Michigan.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Isn't that what you're going to name your next kid?
- 12:23Speaker 1: That's right, Dick Regenberg McDermott.
- 12:26Speaker 2: Just call him Rify Anyway, it would be worse if
- 12:31Speaker 2: his name was Dick Reipenberg, you know what I mean. Anyway,
- 12:36Speaker 2: he got injured in one of those in a practice
- 12:37Speaker 2: before the game and literally ended his NFL career, injured
- 12:40Speaker 2: his knee.
- 12:40Speaker 1: So yeah, that's the other thing. You're not going to
- 12:43Speaker 1: get anybody that's going to go in the first round
- 12:45Speaker 1: that's going to risk it. But maybe they would say, hey,
- 12:49Speaker 1: you're gonna get one hundred thousand, two hundred thousand dollars
- 12:52Speaker 1: the first top whatever picks that are guaranteed money aren't.
- 12:54Speaker 1: But and I know this is a little bit late news,
- 12:57Speaker 1: but the Daniel Jones saga, Holy.
- 13:01Speaker 2: So share it with me. Other than he's a shitty
- 13:03Speaker 2: quarterback who got drafted by a shitty team and everybody
- 13:07Speaker 2: hates him.
- 13:08Speaker 1: Everybody hates him so early in the week. Again, this
- 13:11Speaker 1: is old news because this comes out when but he
- 13:14Speaker 1: was demoted. It came out to the third string quarterback.
- 13:19Speaker 1: Then reports he was demoted to the fourth string quarterback.
- 13:25Speaker 1: So then he went and asked for a release. He
- 13:28Speaker 1: has been well, he was released by the Giants. Yes,
- 13:33Speaker 1: he is going to be a free agent. So it's
- 13:35Speaker 1: like I'm telling you and one of the fun not funny.
- 13:40Speaker 1: I don't know what the word is. Tweets that I
- 13:43Speaker 1: saw was from Berkley and was like, good for you, man,
- 13:46Speaker 1: second chances are good more or less like hey, wait
- 13:48Speaker 1: to get out of New York. Now it's time to
- 13:50Speaker 1: you know, make your career better and stuff like that.
- 13:53Speaker 1: I mean, people shit on him, but I'm gonna tell
- 13:55Speaker 1: you what I mean. At one point he took a
- 13:58Speaker 1: not very good Giants team to the playoffs, got paid. Still,
- 14:03Speaker 1: I mean, he's not great. I'm not gonna say he's
- 14:05Speaker 1: a Hall of Famer, but you put him in the
- 14:07Speaker 1: right situation.
- 14:09Speaker 2: I am so, and I'm a Nebraska fan. So this
- 14:12Speaker 2: probably in recency bias, probably plays into this double time yep.
- 14:16Speaker 2: But I am so of the mindset that coaches get
- 14:21Speaker 2: into this my way or the highway. This is the
- 14:23Speaker 2: way we're gonna do it. I don't care if this
- 14:25Speaker 2: guy wants to do this or do that. I don't
- 14:27Speaker 2: care what his strengths are. We're gonna run this offense.
- 14:30Speaker 2: We're gonna that a lot of times. To your point, Matt,
- 14:33Speaker 2: these quarterbacks are either regressing their fucking confidences. Shot. We
- 14:40Speaker 2: had a quarterback who literally college level. Of course, it's
- 14:42Speaker 2: a five star quarterback. Came in first four or five games.
- 14:45Speaker 2: I don't want to say he lit it up, but
- 14:47Speaker 2: he was, you know, eight touchdowns, three interceptions, pretty decent
- 14:50Speaker 2: for a eighteen year old kid, true freshman. And then
- 14:53Speaker 2: the last four we had four excuse me, five straight games.
- 14:57Speaker 2: One was a win for were losses where he regrets,
- 15:01Speaker 2: and he had like two touchdowns to like six or
- 15:04Speaker 2: seven interceptions. We made a coaching change of the offensive coordinator.
- 15:08Speaker 2: A new guy came in, Dana Holgerson, you may remember
- 15:10Speaker 2: the name under the Mike leech Tree coached as a
- 15:13Speaker 2: head coach for Houston and West Virginia. Great offensive mine
- 15:17Speaker 2: usually runs an air raid, but smart enough to know
- 15:20Speaker 2: which is the kind of coach you need in situations.
- 15:22Speaker 2: You play to the talent level of your team, and
- 15:26Speaker 2: you play to their strengths. And if you've got a
- 15:29Speaker 2: good offensive line and a running back who can take
- 15:31Speaker 2: twenty five carries a game, by golly, are we going
- 15:33Speaker 2: to run it through the tackles, Or if you've got
- 15:36Speaker 2: a quarterback who can do what this guy's doing, we're
- 15:38Speaker 2: gonna we're we're gonna do that too. He comes in
- 15:40Speaker 2: and we score the highest points total we've had in
- 15:42Speaker 2: three years, and we beat a team that hadn't given
- 15:46Speaker 2: up twenty four points. We put up forty four. So
- 15:48Speaker 2: my point is non Nebraska football related stuff, is that
- 15:52Speaker 2: there are so many examples of these quarterbacks. We talked
- 15:54Speaker 2: about this before in NFL. Who the second chance? They
- 15:57Speaker 2: do so much better and even the third chance? Who
- 15:59Speaker 2: is the guy?
- 16:01Speaker 3: Uh?
- 16:01Speaker 2: The guy that played just recently for the Colts.
- 16:04Speaker 1: Matt Ryan.
- 16:06Speaker 2: Matt Ryan, Matt Ryan?
- 16:07Speaker 1: Was he the guy? He went Falcons to them? He
- 16:09Speaker 1: didn't do too much? Alcolco yep?
- 16:11Speaker 2: Or Flacco? What did it call?
- 16:12Speaker 1: Blacolco? What's that replace?
- 16:15Speaker 2: The replacements they kind of look alike. But Joe Flacco,
- 16:20Speaker 2: which isn't he He did great at Baltimore. He had
- 16:22Speaker 2: a great career and everything else, but still was able
- 16:24Speaker 2: to come back. But there's been that was a bad
- 16:26Speaker 2: example like this, But there's been other examples of quarterbacks
- 16:28Speaker 2: who come and had their second shot at a team
- 16:32Speaker 2: gives them some confidence.
- 16:34Speaker 1: They didn't say Russell Wilson. I mean he went to
- 16:37Speaker 1: Denver after.
- 16:38Speaker 2: Because he started at Seattle. And is he doing all
- 16:41Speaker 2: right for you guys?
- 16:43Speaker 1: Not bad? I mean he's only lost one game.
- 16:45Speaker 2: I mean, I call him check down rusk because it's
- 16:48Speaker 2: like everything's down to the wide room, to the running
- 16:51Speaker 2: back or tight end.
- 16:52Speaker 1: It's well, it's it's kind of Steelers football. It's run first,
- 16:56Speaker 1: run heavy. So the first if it's suck because the
- 17:00Speaker 1: first little bit it's run run run six three game,
- 17:04Speaker 1: you know what I mean. And the next thing, you know,
- 17:06Speaker 1: in it opens, they wear you down and then he
- 17:08Speaker 1: gets to throw. I guess they call it the moon
- 17:10Speaker 1: ball or whatever the hell it is. They throw it up.
- 17:13Speaker 1: Pickens goes up, makes a crazy catch every once in
- 17:15Speaker 1: a while. Then he doesn't make a catch and it's
- 17:17Speaker 1: like that's past interference, and then they bitch and it's
- 17:20Speaker 1: like and they go great. It's I mean, at times
- 17:23Speaker 1: it's okay football. But I mean, I love the new
- 17:26Speaker 1: offensive coordinator. I really do. The guy from he was
- 17:28Speaker 1: the coach for Atlanta had the mustache. I can't think
- 17:31Speaker 1: of his name, but he's I don't know. It's it's
- 17:35Speaker 1: good when your team's winning, even if you lose a
- 17:37Speaker 1: couple games. But going into week twelve or week eleven,
- 17:43Speaker 1: they hadn't played a single divisional game. So now in
- 17:46Speaker 1: the last six weeks of football, it's all divisional games
- 17:50Speaker 1: in the Chiefs, in the Eagles, and it is going
- 17:53Speaker 1: to be a brutal end of the season for the Boys.
- 17:56Speaker 1: Guarantee you what gets hurt another big name Harris or
- 18:00Speaker 1: somebody's gonna get hurt. Then they limp into playoffs and
- 18:02Speaker 1: just get destroyed. That's what happens every year.
- 18:05Speaker 2: I was just looking some up here, and the biggest
- 18:07Speaker 2: one I missed as a team we've just talked about
- 18:09Speaker 2: fucking goff. Are you kidding me? People were saying he
- 18:12Speaker 2: was the worst choice in that NFL draft class.
- 18:16Speaker 1: Uh, you were Thanning Stafford. Matt Stafford left the Lions
- 18:20Speaker 1: and won a Super Bowl.
- 18:22Speaker 2: Yeah, that's pretty good. But I think I think Matt
- 18:24Speaker 2: Stafford fills into like that Russell Wilson Mike Vick portion
- 18:28Speaker 2: which would be started at the first team and did great,
- 18:32Speaker 2: like had no problem clear a redemption story with each
- 18:35Speaker 2: of those folks, you know, Matt Stafford never getting a
- 18:38Speaker 2: playoff win, much less than Super Bowl win, Mike Vick
- 18:41Speaker 2: getting through crazy shit that he didn't able to bring
- 18:44Speaker 2: his career back, which is wild, like almost like Mike
- 18:47Speaker 2: Tyson's way. Yeah, and then who's the third one we
- 18:50Speaker 2: just mentioned Golf. Golf literally thrown into the trash heap
- 18:55Speaker 2: of NFL draft busts as a quarterback position to leading
- 18:59Speaker 2: the t they are literally shitting on NFL teams and
- 19:02Speaker 2: like blowing them out like it's not even close. It's
- 19:06Speaker 2: not fun to watch.
- 19:07Speaker 1: They play like most people play Madden Football. I mean
- 19:12Speaker 1: they are wide open. It's fun to watch. I think
- 19:15Speaker 1: I saw something that they were like a twenty one
- 19:17Speaker 1: percent chance to win the Super Bowl right now by
- 19:20Speaker 1: the the books. So and back to Daniel Jones, I
- 19:25Speaker 1: mean he's gonna he obviously is going to want to
- 19:28Speaker 1: sign with a contender, be a real good backup. You
- 19:31Speaker 1: never know who's gonna get hurt. I think early reports
- 19:33Speaker 1: said that potential Ravens or Vikings. I'm thinking the Ravens. Yeah,
- 19:39Speaker 1: I mean they Lamar does get hurt every once in
- 19:41Speaker 1: a while, and the backup hasn't really Huntly or whatever,
- 19:43Speaker 1: hasn't had a lot of success. It'd be a good
- 19:45Speaker 1: little backup. But I could see Minnesota, you know what
- 19:48Speaker 1: I mean. You got Sam Darnold out there playing some
- 19:51Speaker 1: decent football. He goes down, I don't know who the
- 19:53Speaker 1: backup is for the Vikings. But Daniel Jones, he could
- 19:56Speaker 1: look pretty good in that purple in school school.
- 20:02Speaker 2: What about Cowboys? Could you see me going to the Cowboys.
- 20:04Speaker 1: I don't think they're gonna spend that kind of money
- 20:06Speaker 1: because they are not They're not a contender, you know
- 20:10Speaker 1: what I mean. Because he I mean, the dude signed
- 20:13Speaker 1: for eleven point eight million a season or something like that.
- 20:19Speaker 1: It's like up there twelve million and twenty three million
- 20:22Speaker 1: guarantees after the season. He's doing a lot of money.
- 20:27Speaker 1: So I can't see somebody that is not a contender
- 20:30Speaker 1: spending that kind of money to grab them, you know
- 20:33Speaker 1: what I mean. For sure, But for a contender, it's like, yeah,
- 20:36Speaker 1: we're gonna spend It's worth every money in case somebody
- 20:38Speaker 1: gets hurt. You've seen it. I was thinking randomly today,
- 20:41Speaker 1: remember the game with the Niners where Purdy gets hurt.
- 20:45Speaker 1: Then they put in the backup. The backup gets hurt,
- 20:47Speaker 1: they have no other option, which they could have did
- 20:49Speaker 1: Debo or maybe McCaffrey or something, so they had to
- 20:52Speaker 1: put in Brock Purdy back in knowing he couldn't throw
- 20:55Speaker 1: the ball, so all they did was run the ball
- 20:57Speaker 1: for the rest of the game.
- 20:59Speaker 2: Yeah, it's it's definitely wild. And with the restriction on
- 21:03Speaker 2: roster limits, it's tough for an NFL team to try
- 21:06Speaker 2: to bring three quarterbacks, you know, But there's been definite situation.
- 21:11Speaker 2: Remember when I remember when this is going way back,
- 21:12Speaker 2: when Dan Marino got injured in like ninety two ninety
- 21:14Speaker 2: three and was out for the whole year. And I
- 21:16Speaker 2: think there was a game or something where maybe with
- 21:18Speaker 2: the wrong team, maybe i'mything the wrong time, but where
- 21:21Speaker 2: a team was down, they like having their punter out there.
- 21:24Speaker 2: So I mean, looking at looking at Daniel Daniel Jones,
- 21:27Speaker 2: I'll say this, he's got NFL tools, so somebody will
- 21:31Speaker 2: take a chance on him. His problem is between his
- 21:34Speaker 2: ears and so and that could be a confidence And
- 21:36Speaker 2: I don't need to call him dumb, I'm saying. I'm
- 21:38Speaker 2: saying it's a confidence issue. And so looking at even
- 21:41Speaker 2: at his stats, is he peaked when it comes to
- 21:45Speaker 2: touchdown interception ratios for his rookie year a couple of
- 21:47Speaker 2: years ago, he had his best year based on QBR
- 21:50Speaker 2: and quarterback rating. But I mean, he's just I don't
- 21:54Speaker 2: I think it's between plus you got a terrible offensive.
- 21:56Speaker 1: Line I was gonna say, terrible line.
- 21:58Speaker 2: Uh, your your best player on the offense left for
- 22:01Speaker 2: the Eagles.
- 22:02Speaker 1: I believe the end he was hurt.
- 22:04Speaker 2: What he was, he definitely want. So you don't have
- 22:07Speaker 2: any I mean, you got neighbors Elik neighbors.
- 22:10Speaker 1: On the Yeah, and he's a rookie and that's it.
- 22:13Speaker 2: I mean, so you don't really have The Giants have
- 22:16Speaker 2: been a terrible what's about the Jets being terrible? New Jersey?
- 22:19Speaker 2: New York has been I call New Jersey it's East r.
- 22:21Speaker 1: Oh that third New Jersey. Yeah, especially if you're around here,
- 22:24Speaker 1: trust me, the Bills, we're the only tribute New York.
- 22:28Speaker 2: So you know, it's just a it's a matter of
- 22:31Speaker 2: it's a matter of terrible organization, terrible GM, terrible ownership,
- 22:35Speaker 2: terrible coaching. You can ruin a fuck talent, you can
- 22:38Speaker 2: stunt potential, and you can ruin a guy like Daniel Jones.
- 22:42Speaker 2: Daniel Jones got a duke. Yes, I had to look
- 22:45Speaker 2: up and make sure he was a guy drafted first
- 22:47Speaker 2: pick first a six picked of the first round in
- 22:50Speaker 2: five years six, five years ago, twenty nineteen. I wanted
- 22:52Speaker 2: the Broncos to take him. Yeah, I wanted the Broncos
- 22:55Speaker 2: to take him, and like, looking at it now, it's
- 22:57Speaker 2: like glad they didn't.
- 23:00Speaker 1: But uh yeah, those acc quarterbacks, they're almost up there
- 23:04Speaker 1: with the SEC quarterbacks for panning out. Uh yeah, Drake
- 23:08Speaker 1: May And again, I mean he's been playing some decent football.
- 23:10Speaker 1: He was a Carolina guy.
- 23:11Speaker 2: But who'd have thought the MAC would be a great
- 23:13Speaker 2: league for quarterbacks.
- 23:16Speaker 1: Who knows? Hey doing something different than the Mac. Not
- 23:19Speaker 1: only that, the Mac and the cheese. I just looked,
- 23:21Speaker 1: we're about twenty something minutes in and you guys are
- 23:23Speaker 1: probably wonder wheres you've been. Maybe I guess you're not
- 23:26Speaker 1: at this point, but he had some things going on.
- 23:28Speaker 1: It turns out you've been as a pretty busy person
- 23:30Speaker 1: he's got. That's what happens when you have a bunch
- 23:32Speaker 1: of kids, and you know, in a busy life, and
- 23:35Speaker 1: the busy kids with kids turns into a busy life,
- 23:39Speaker 1: trust me, Brandon and myself. No, And you know, to
- 23:43Speaker 1: top it off, Brandon has a pregnant wife, which makes
- 23:46Speaker 1: things a little more interesting in the household, to say
- 23:49Speaker 1: the least. It's been a long time since I've lived
- 23:51Speaker 1: with somebody who is pregnant. But I remember it having
- 23:54Speaker 1: some very big ups and downs, and parent life is
- 23:59Speaker 1: parent life is pretty interesting. It's interesting. It's good most
- 24:02Speaker 1: of the days. It's kind of like being a coach,
- 24:04Speaker 1: you know what I mean. You deal with a whole
- 24:06Speaker 1: bunch of bullcrap, and then all of a sudden, there's
- 24:08Speaker 1: that one moment that just kind of makes you feel
- 24:10Speaker 1: all warm and fuzzy, and you're like, this is why
- 24:12Speaker 1: I coach. They go pretty quick.
- 24:14Speaker 2: It's the opposite for me. It's everything you prepare for
- 24:17Speaker 2: is great. And then there's this one moment of like, well,
- 24:20Speaker 2: I didn't predict that the running back would fumble it
- 24:22Speaker 2: kick it twenty yards down the field, or that we
- 24:24Speaker 2: would punt it backwards and the other team would catch
- 24:26Speaker 2: it for a touchdown. You know, like I didn't predict least.
- 24:29Speaker 1: Yeah, that is that is true. And I I was
- 24:33Speaker 1: randomly scouring the internet. I bet you this person didn't
- 24:36Speaker 1: predict it. And this is a very good stay out
- 24:39Speaker 1: of my fridge segue. Daily dot dot Com. Never been
- 24:42Speaker 1: to the website, but led me there. There is apparently
- 24:47Speaker 1: they do a main character of the week, and I'm
- 24:49Speaker 1: not really sure exactly what that is, but apparently It's
- 24:51Speaker 1: a weekly column that tells you the most prominent main
- 24:54Speaker 1: character online, good or bad. They run it every Friday,
- 24:59Speaker 1: all right, and this one is apparently being called the Wormngate.
- 25:05Speaker 1: There's a celebrity food reviewer named Keith Lee. Have you
- 25:09Speaker 1: heard of Keith Lee?
- 25:10Speaker 2: If I saw him? Maybe the name doesn't sound fili.
- 25:13Speaker 1: Yeah, it didn't sound familiar. Let me see if I
- 25:16Speaker 1: can pull up a picture of Keith Lee. To me,
- 25:20Speaker 1: it's like celebrity. Oh he is a I guess a celebrity.
- 25:24Speaker 1: Maybe he's a fighter. He's an American social media personality,
- 25:28Speaker 1: food critic and MMA personally bringing up here, this is
- 25:34Speaker 1: Keith Lee. I'm not a huge MMA guy, nor am
- 25:39Speaker 1: I into I guess the food reviews. I only listen
- 25:42Speaker 1: to Brandon J McDermott stuff I do not think, so okay.
- 25:46Speaker 1: So apparently he went to a sushi place in Seattle
- 25:51Speaker 1: recently and viewers noticed something potentially in the food and
- 25:59Speaker 1: that looked to be a worm on the fish that
- 26:02Speaker 1: he was eating, and they're saying it was likely a parasite.
- 26:06Speaker 1: He is good, I guess now, But fans also ate
- 26:12Speaker 1: at the same place. I don't know if it was
- 26:13Speaker 1: at the same time. Later, maybe this other video went
- 26:16Speaker 1: there and they started getting sick and one of these
- 26:20Speaker 1: fans was hospitalized for over a week. And apparently there
- 26:24Speaker 1: was a video that the boyfriend of said girl that
- 26:26Speaker 1: got sick posted and it went viral and apparently she
- 26:29Speaker 1: got E coli from that sushi place.
- 26:33Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, I am an American, so when I
- 26:41Speaker 2: look at videos on the internet, I think to myself,
- 26:42Speaker 2: food videos on the internet, I think to myself, huh,
- 26:45Speaker 2: I wouldn't pass health standards here. But all that said,
- 26:49Speaker 2: the health standards I have for say, a fast food
- 26:52Speaker 2: restaurant like McDonald's are not going to be the same
- 26:55Speaker 2: as the fast food as the rest as the standards
- 26:57Speaker 2: I would have for a sushi sushi restre. If you
- 27:00Speaker 2: were on a sushi restaurant, you better have the tip
- 27:04Speaker 2: top best practices back behind closed doors. You work in
- 27:09Speaker 2: a restaurant, you're always going to have the chance and
- 27:12Speaker 2: potential for roaches. I don't want to say I let
- 27:16Speaker 2: me preface this way. There was a restaurant that I
- 27:18Speaker 2: know of. I'm not going to tell you where it
- 27:20Speaker 2: was at because I don't want people to you know
- 27:22Speaker 2: what I mean? Yeah, but who was a sushi restaurant
- 27:25Speaker 2: and somebody said they found roaches where they were and
- 27:28Speaker 2: there was like raw meat left out because they also
- 27:31Speaker 2: do like hibachi stuff.
- 27:33Speaker 1: Yep.
- 27:33Speaker 2: And uh, there were people who were like online saying, oh,
- 27:38Speaker 2: who are defending it, saying every restaurant has roaches. You
- 27:41Speaker 2: would not blah blah blah. Certainly may not be not
- 27:45Speaker 2: true that you're the restaurant you worked at was terrible
- 27:47Speaker 2: and had roaches and didn't clean up stuff and there
- 27:49Speaker 2: was grim on the floor and grease on the hood
- 27:51Speaker 2: and all this other stuff. That's not what should happen.
- 27:54Speaker 2: And just because it's something that did happen in that
- 27:57Speaker 2: it does occurrent places, doesn't mean that I'm okay with it, Yes,
- 28:01Speaker 2: because I eat those places and haven't realized or recognized
- 28:04Speaker 2: by the food I'm eating that there's roaches back there
- 28:07Speaker 2: or they have got dirty whatever. We have standards for
- 28:10Speaker 2: a reason because people can die from these kinds of
- 28:13Speaker 2: diseases or not just that, but that kind of leaving
- 28:18Speaker 2: raw meat next to a fresh meat, or having God
- 28:22Speaker 2: forbid some sort of parasite in your fish. I've seen
- 28:25Speaker 2: fish that have had like growths on them, you know,
- 28:28Speaker 2: So you'll like see a little puss on it, like
- 28:30Speaker 2: just like a little boil. Basically, I've heard you just
- 28:34Speaker 2: cut that off and cut around it and you move on.
- 28:37Speaker 2: But no, but on the whole. You guys probably know
- 28:41Speaker 2: me enough to know that I'm pragmatic and I'm kind
- 28:43Speaker 2: of in the middle of the road. I try to
- 28:44Speaker 2: see things both ways. I can understand where every restaurant
- 28:49Speaker 2: to a certain extent isn't going to meet all health
- 28:51Speaker 2: standards at all times. And things happen, especially if you've
- 28:54Speaker 2: got a sewer or not a sewer, but you've got
- 28:57Speaker 2: a drain in the back to the floor where we
- 28:59Speaker 2: all know that certain roaches can come from from the
- 29:02Speaker 2: and then that's.
- 29:03Speaker 1: Where the ninja turtles come from.
- 29:04Speaker 2: Is right on the other side of the thing. I understand, well,
- 29:08Speaker 2: I don't want to eat if you tell me when
- 29:10Speaker 2: I walk into a restaurant. Here's a picture of what
- 29:13Speaker 2: this kitchen looks like, and we get to look at it.
- 29:16Speaker 2: There's probably several restaurants I would be leaving and not
- 29:18Speaker 2: eating at.
- 29:19Speaker 1: Could you imagine if they did do that that was
- 29:20Speaker 1: on the menu, like that was forced in some states,
- 29:23Speaker 1: like here's a here, here's a scan this QR code.
- 29:26Speaker 1: Here's the live cam. Yeah, on our on our kitchen,
- 29:30Speaker 1: make a decision, or right outside when you walk in,
- 29:32Speaker 1: there's a thing of the camera, a camera that just
- 29:35Speaker 1: shows the kitchen. And you're like, uh, Because I've not
- 29:39Speaker 1: worked in the food industry, but i know people that have,
- 29:42Speaker 1: and I know people that have ran restaurants this and that,
- 29:44Speaker 1: and I've been in some of them beautiful clean kitchens,
- 29:47Speaker 1: and I've been to some other places and they have said, like,
- 29:51Speaker 1: do not go into this restaurant because the health department,
- 29:54Speaker 1: especially in New York. I have to imagine it's the
- 29:56Speaker 1: same in most ones. They're pretty tough. And I mean
- 29:59Speaker 1: the people that they get a lot of I guess
- 30:01Speaker 1: flack for going in there. Like their job is to
- 30:03Speaker 1: find something. They have to find something. If they don't
- 30:05Speaker 1: find something wrong with your restaurant to keep people safe,
- 30:08Speaker 1: they're not doing their job. And they people talk, and
- 30:11Speaker 1: especially these health department people, and they'll be like, listen,
- 30:15Speaker 1: do not go to this restaurant. I'm telling you right now,
- 30:17Speaker 1: it's going to get you sick. And the dairy thing man,
- 30:20Speaker 1: but we still go there.
- 30:24Speaker 2: Yep.
- 30:25Speaker 1: But it said apparently there's an expert in the sushi
- 30:27Speaker 1: thing that says the wholesale of fish at many sushi
- 30:32Speaker 1: restaurants and the people they hand them that they want
- 30:35Speaker 1: to point the blame toward the original restaurant and not
- 30:38Speaker 1: the batch of fish that sold it to the customers,
- 30:41Speaker 1: So they're more or less saying the restaurant mess this
- 30:43Speaker 1: one up.
- 30:44Speaker 2: I also want to point at this. You being in
- 30:46Speaker 2: upstate New York a little different than me being in
- 30:48Speaker 2: the middle of America. I'm literally in the only triple
- 30:50Speaker 2: landlocked state in the United States to Eraska.
- 30:55Speaker 1: It's hard to get fresh fish there.
- 30:57Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, everything that's coming here is either coming
- 30:59Speaker 2: on ice or flash frozen, and it's not and it's
- 31:03Speaker 2: coming either. Well, it's definitely not coming my boat. You
- 31:08Speaker 2: can come up to the Missus Missouri River, but it
- 31:09Speaker 2: wouldn't be the best you go. But you know, so
- 31:13Speaker 2: if you're coming, if you're living here in Nebraska or
- 31:16Speaker 2: the Midwest, sushi probably shouldn't be the first choice on
- 31:20Speaker 2: your or if you're gonna get it, get the imitation crab,
- 31:23Speaker 2: you know.
- 31:24Speaker 1: Yeah. And the biggest thing with sushi is that it
- 31:27Speaker 1: needs to be frozen at some point, because when it's
- 31:30Speaker 1: frozen that's where it removes any chances of the parasites
- 31:35Speaker 1: and the infections and the nasty stuff. They say.
- 31:38Speaker 2: It doesn't remove the parasites, it just kills them. You're
- 31:41Speaker 2: still kill.
- 31:41Speaker 1: Them, yes, they're still eating them, but it's not going
- 31:43Speaker 1: to be harmful at that point. And the reason it's
- 31:46Speaker 1: funny because I've been addicted to making beef jerky and
- 31:50Speaker 1: I have read a lot of stuff lately on jerky
- 31:55Speaker 1: and it's it's funny because obviously, don't I don't go
- 31:58Speaker 1: to Reddit because Reddit can be I go to Reddit,
- 32:00Speaker 1: but I wasn't going there for jerky advice. I randomly
- 32:03Speaker 1: stumbled upon this, like jerky junkies or something, a group
- 32:06Speaker 1: on Facebook, and the amount of differences in the way
- 32:10Speaker 1: that people do things. So obviously it's beef, you know
- 32:13Speaker 1: what I mean. Beef you can eat medium, some people
- 32:16Speaker 1: medium rare. You can eat it at different temperatures. And
- 32:19Speaker 1: with jerky, I've been cooking and a lot of people
- 32:22Speaker 1: dehydrate it around one sixty. So then there's the huge
- 32:25Speaker 1: debate when it's done. Is it done or do you
- 32:29Speaker 1: need to cook it for a little bit to get
- 32:31Speaker 1: rid of potential? You know what I mean? Because it's
- 32:33Speaker 1: not quite one sixty five, and you get a whole
- 32:36Speaker 1: bunch of people it's like, well, you just use curing salt,
- 32:38Speaker 1: and it's like and then you have all you know
- 32:40Speaker 1: what I mean. I've been cooking jerky for sixty years.
- 32:43Speaker 1: I've done it at one sixty, ate it and ate
- 32:45Speaker 1: it for weeks. It's fine. And then you get these
- 32:47Speaker 1: other people that are like, well, I do that, so
- 32:49Speaker 1: I've I've done it kind of each ways, So well,
- 32:52Speaker 1: how would you do it? I guess trying beef jerky? Yep,
- 32:58Speaker 1: I was.
- 32:58Speaker 2: I'm always too afraid of doing stuff like that, Like
- 33:00Speaker 2: I am too afraid to cut, like I don't even
- 33:03Speaker 2: I'm the kind of guy. I've got a smoker outside.
- 33:06Speaker 2: I haven't even bought like a brisket yet or a
- 33:09Speaker 2: pork butt because I'm so afraid to fuck it up
- 33:11Speaker 2: because it's a lot of money for that. Again, one
- 33:13Speaker 2: hundred and fifteen dollars for a brisket, you know, or
- 33:16Speaker 2: something ninety dollars.
- 33:17Speaker 1: So I found a little bit of a hack with
- 33:19Speaker 1: So if you were to go to the store, like
- 33:20Speaker 1: you eat beef jerky, i'd imagine or maybe you don't
- 33:22Speaker 1: because of the break like. It's pretty expensive. You were
- 33:24Speaker 1: go there roughly ballpark without I don't know. I should
- 33:27Speaker 1: have probably looked this up. Like a pound of beef.
- 33:29Speaker 2: Jerky, oh a pound? Oh shit, you're talking me fifteen
- 33:32Speaker 2: to twenty five dollars.
- 33:34Speaker 1: Yeah, so I probably more in I can go to.
- 33:37Speaker 1: I go to this local place, save a lot, and
- 33:39Speaker 1: I'm saving a lot. The other last week they had
- 33:42Speaker 1: a seventy I think it was seventy two or seventy
- 33:45Speaker 1: three whatever the mix was for ground beef, five pounds
- 33:48Speaker 1: of it for fourteen eighty five or fourteen ninety five.
- 33:52Speaker 1: So I'm like sweet, So I pick one up. I
- 33:55Speaker 1: make each of the jerky batches and two pounds, okay,
- 33:58Speaker 1: and with the ground beef, and I I throw it
- 34:00Speaker 1: in the kitchen. Aid tend to riize it. Just let
- 34:02Speaker 1: it mix everything in. It's nice there. Take out the jerky.
- 34:05Speaker 1: I like the nice flat like crispy style ones. Throw
- 34:09Speaker 1: them in there. I got not only a dehydrator, but
- 34:11Speaker 1: I got my air fryer that is also doing it.
- 34:14Speaker 1: One's sixty for four hours and then I rate at
- 34:16Speaker 1: the end, I put the oven to two seventy five.
- 34:19Speaker 1: I go about ten minutes so that way it can
- 34:21Speaker 1: kill anything. And then that way I don't have to
- 34:24Speaker 1: store it in the fridge or any I don't want
- 34:25Speaker 1: cold jerky, so the way I can store it, it's fine.
- 34:28Speaker 1: I have crushed ten pounds of jerky in the last
- 34:31Speaker 1: two weeks and it is phenomenal in it's ground beef. I mean,
- 34:35Speaker 1: I've made ten pounds of jerky for like thirty bucks,
- 34:39Speaker 1: obviously because I had the seasonings and stuff like that.
- 34:41Speaker 2: But yeah, but I mean it's the same way. I
- 34:45Speaker 2: think we talked about that. But I tell you the
- 34:47Speaker 2: story about when I was craving a ruben.
- 34:49Speaker 1: Yeah, when you made it, man.
- 34:52Speaker 2: Like, it's the it's the convenience factor versus the Listen,
- 34:57Speaker 2: for just thirty five dollars, I can make enough rubens
- 35:00Speaker 2: to last me four days. Probably yeap table jerky, Man,
- 35:05Speaker 2: you've gone out there, you're going to spend ten pounds
- 35:07Speaker 2: and ten pounds of jerky. No, you're gonna probably spend
- 35:10Speaker 2: one hundred and thirty bucks or more.
- 35:12Speaker 1: And like I said, I already had the dehydrator because
- 35:14Speaker 1: we like doing the fruit every once in a while,
- 35:16Speaker 1: you know, as a little snack for the kids and
- 35:18Speaker 1: stuff like that. But we were able to not only
- 35:20Speaker 1: do this, but it's so easy to do. It takes
- 35:24Speaker 1: twenty minutes for me to prep a batch and then
- 35:28Speaker 1: I just walk away for four hours. I don't have
- 35:30Speaker 1: to do a goddamn thing. It just runs, It just
- 35:32Speaker 1: does itself. So the other morning I got up before work,
- 35:35Speaker 1: prepped a batch, put it in, and then when I
- 35:38Speaker 1: came out of my lunch break, all the jerky was
- 35:39Speaker 1: done beautiful. And you know what I mean, I'm trying
- 35:42Speaker 1: to eat a little healthier and I think beef jerky
- 35:44Speaker 1: is such a great snack. And producer Zach he's like, dude,
- 35:47Speaker 1: it's wrestling season. Maybe you maybe I could pay him
- 35:50Speaker 1: mix up some jerky for the boys.
- 35:53Speaker 2: So there's no greater fel I've never done jerky.
- 35:56Speaker 1: I mean, sure, I was gonna say bullshit, where's the
- 35:59Speaker 1: bullshit meter?
- 36:00Speaker 2: And plenty of jerky, but tuh uh, there's no greater
- 36:03Speaker 2: feeling for me as somebody who's you know, well, let's
- 36:07Speaker 2: just say it lazy. Uh coming home from work and
- 36:09Speaker 2: remembering I put a pot roast in some vegetables with
- 36:13Speaker 2: some beef consumme and uh, you know, ranch seasoning or
- 36:16Speaker 2: something in uh in a crock pot. Coming home to
- 36:19Speaker 2: the smell of this is wonderful.
- 36:21Speaker 1: M hmm.
- 36:21Speaker 2: Probably that same feeling like you get done, you're like, yeah,
- 36:23Speaker 2: I'm glad I did this.
- 36:24Speaker 1: Yeah. It's like we don't have to burn our our
- 36:28Speaker 1: candle warmers or whatever those things are, the wax burn
- 36:30Speaker 1: candles to make this house smell a little bit better
- 36:32Speaker 1: because weve got a bunch of animals. Not that it stinks,
- 36:34Speaker 1: but you know you might smell it smells like beef
- 36:36Speaker 1: jerky all the time. People going, well, smells a beef
- 36:38Speaker 1: jerky in here. Yeah, that's our that's our new scent.
- 36:43Speaker 1: I was reading something else earlier too, and I know
- 36:46Speaker 1: I think I lost the article, but apparently I grew up.
- 36:49Speaker 1: I grew up eating pop tarts here big pop Tar house.
- 36:53Speaker 1: I mean, I'm like I said, I have any but
- 36:54Speaker 1: apparently pop Tarts is bringing something back. I haven't read
- 36:59Speaker 1: pop tarts is bringing a retired fan favorite flavor. So
- 37:03Speaker 1: I gotta ask you, what is your favorite?
- 37:06Speaker 2: I'm trying to wildberry or something. Anyway, don't tell me
- 37:14Speaker 2: my favorite flavor. When I was a kid, I used
- 37:16Speaker 2: to like, like the fudge or whatever, the chocolate which
- 37:19Speaker 2: is It's not very good to be honestly, it's not
- 37:20Speaker 2: the best. Yeah, it's just I really, I'm a frosted cherry.
- 37:25Speaker 2: Frosted strawberry or blueberry.
- 37:29Speaker 1: Those are and those are staples. They've been around for
- 37:31Speaker 1: a long time. I think strawberry is the og I
- 37:35Speaker 1: grew up too, though of course, I didn't grow up
- 37:38Speaker 1: in a healthy house, meaning we didn't eat healthy food.
- 37:42Speaker 1: To this day, my Mashi will not. She hates vegetables,
- 37:46Speaker 1: so you know, once in a while she'll eat corn
- 37:47Speaker 1: or something like that. I swear her health and her age,
- 37:50Speaker 1: she looks great for her age. She's in pretty good health.
- 37:53Speaker 1: All that stuff. I think it's because she drinks vodka
- 37:55Speaker 1: and granberry juice almost every day. Not enough to get drunk,
- 37:58Speaker 1: but just a couple of sippers.
- 37:59Speaker 2: You know. She's pickled pickle, you.
- 38:02Speaker 1: Know what I mean, doesn't eat pickles, doesn't eat a
- 38:04Speaker 1: lot of So I didn't have my first salad until
- 38:06Speaker 1: I went to college because I just didn't grow up
- 38:09Speaker 1: in a house where like we ate those vegetables we ate.
- 38:12Speaker 1: I mean, we had instant mashed potatoes, canned corn, you know,
- 38:15Speaker 1: stuff like that, which we turned out pretty okay. And
- 38:18Speaker 1: the only reason I started eating salad is because the
- 38:21Speaker 1: college that I went to, in their dining room, they
- 38:24Speaker 1: filled like all their food for with fillers. And I
- 38:28Speaker 1: got so friggin sick. It didn't matter what I ate.
- 38:31Speaker 1: The only thing I could eat there was cereal and
- 38:33Speaker 1: salads because it didn't have the fillers in there. I
- 38:35Speaker 1: mean it was I already have some stomach issues. Take
- 38:38Speaker 1: I gotta eat something. I gotta to the bathroom. That
- 38:40Speaker 1: shit whatever the fillers is, Oh my god. I was
- 38:44Speaker 1: brutally sick. Yeah, sons of bitches, but so not eating
- 38:49Speaker 1: in a healthier house. Every once in a while, my
- 38:51Speaker 1: mom would be like, all right, we gotta we gotta.
- 38:53Speaker 1: You know you're an athlete, now we gotta eat a
- 38:55Speaker 1: little better. I'm gonna get you the pop tarts without
- 38:57Speaker 1: the frosting. So I eat the longest time the strawberry
- 39:02Speaker 1: ones with no frosting, and they ended up becoming like
- 39:05Speaker 1: my favorite pop tart. I would toast them a little
- 39:07Speaker 1: bit every once in a while, you know, maybe put
- 39:09Speaker 1: some butter out.
- 39:10Speaker 2: I'll tell you this, the frosting on pop tarts isn't
- 39:14Speaker 2: what makes the frosted doesn't what make the pop tarts good.
- 39:16Speaker 2: It's literally just like hardened candy. I don't really enjoy it.
- 39:19Speaker 1: To me, yeah, but you've had on frosted the ones
- 39:22Speaker 1: though I.
- 39:23Speaker 2: Have not in a while. But I mean, it's it's
- 39:26Speaker 2: what pop tarts are is literally trying to be your
- 39:29Speaker 2: cheap throw it in your mouth, you know, or in
- 39:32Speaker 2: the toaster and then in your mouth, treat on the go,
- 39:35Speaker 2: breakfast for kids and for people on the go. It's
- 39:38Speaker 2: not trying to be something high end by any means.
- 39:40Speaker 2: And for what it is, it's really good.
- 39:42Speaker 1: Yep.
- 39:43Speaker 2: I've had foreigners, foreign friends try it and they're like,
- 39:46Speaker 2: this isn't the greatest My kids pop tarts, they don't
- 39:49Speaker 2: like them. I try to get my wife and I
- 39:52Speaker 2: my wife brought me onto what you what you just
- 39:56Speaker 2: brought up butter on the back of some warm Now
- 39:59Speaker 2: if you they're unfrost it doesn't matter where you put
- 40:01Speaker 2: the butter, but on the back it soaks in.
- 40:06Speaker 1: My shout out to my uncle Jim, that's it. He
- 40:08Speaker 1: was the one that taught me as a kid. He's like,
- 40:10Speaker 1: you haven't a pop art, you gotta put some butter
- 40:12Speaker 1: on it. I didn't realize the difference between butter and margin.
- 40:18Speaker 1: Like how bad margarine really is. It's to the point
- 40:20Speaker 1: where like they've done tests and cockroaches, ants, animals like
- 40:24Speaker 1: that will not touch margarine.
- 40:27Speaker 2: It's I'm not a chemist, but it's like really close
- 40:30Speaker 2: to plastic. Yeah, apparently not.
- 40:34Speaker 1: Yeah, And I don't know, I've been on this like
- 40:36Speaker 1: weird deep dive stuff. I probably blame myself because I
- 40:38Speaker 1: listened to a lot of Joe Rogan lately and you know,
- 40:42Speaker 1: and he just kind of has been it's a known thing.
- 40:45Speaker 1: But somebody that they had on just with the food
- 40:48Speaker 1: and how bad our food really is, and when you
- 40:52Speaker 1: start to look at all of the different food that
- 40:56Speaker 1: is banned in other countries, it's pretty.
- 41:00Speaker 2: I mean, you can go. I don't want to mean
- 41:02Speaker 2: to get into the woods here, especially with conspiracy theories,
- 41:04Speaker 2: because there's plenty of places to find on any.
- 41:08Speaker 1: I'm into them, though. We need a conspiracy theory podcast that.
- 41:13Speaker 2: But when you talk about what's in our food and
- 41:17Speaker 2: who owns you know, basically every uh, there's the have
- 41:23Speaker 2: you seen that? The uh, the Facebook TikTok guy wherever
- 41:26Speaker 2: he's everywhere? Who does the who owns this portion of
- 41:30Speaker 2: the grocery store? M H spots it's so good and
- 41:34Speaker 2: bad at the same time, because he'll say, Okay, today
- 41:36Speaker 2: we're looking at spaghetti sauces. Here's the picture of all
- 41:39Speaker 2: the spaghetti sauces at the store, you know, the wall
- 41:41Speaker 2: of spaghetti sauces. This portion right here Hunts. They're owned
- 41:44Speaker 2: by Black Rock, which is one of the top three.
- 41:46Speaker 2: I can't believe I just said the word They're gonna
- 41:48Speaker 2: come for me, one of the that's really conspiracy theory. There,
- 41:51Speaker 2: one of the top you know, three biggest companies in
- 41:53Speaker 2: the world that owns everything from you name it right Uh,
- 41:57Speaker 2: this one down here, this is the this little green
- 41:59Speaker 2: square is the only actually family owned spot and this
- 42:02Speaker 2: whole you know, basically, like the top two or three
- 42:05Speaker 2: companies own everything in the grocery store or are a
- 42:11Speaker 2: not a soul owner. But you think of something being
- 42:14Speaker 2: owned and there's pie. There are pieces of the pie,
- 42:16Speaker 2: this pe, this piece is owned by this, This piece
- 42:18Speaker 2: is owned by this. They're an owner in basically every
- 42:21Speaker 2: industry that produces the food. That scares the shit out
- 42:25Speaker 2: of me. But the problem is is I'm probably thirty
- 42:27Speaker 2: or forty years too late to do anything about it,
- 42:29Speaker 2: because what are we gonna do? Grow our own food.
- 42:32Speaker 2: I mean I can grow potatoes and corn and broccoli
- 42:37Speaker 2: and basil and dill and all that stuff. I don't
- 42:40Speaker 2: have fun. I can't put cows back.
- 42:42Speaker 1: There unless you got to have money to have land
- 42:46Speaker 1: and the cow. Yeah, it's I am in.
- 42:48Speaker 2: The city limits here allowed to have I think six
- 42:50Speaker 2: chickens or something like that. So I get in my
- 42:52Speaker 2: own eggs and then you know, just take a hammer
- 42:54Speaker 2: and just be like, hey, billy, other, god.
- 42:56Speaker 1: My god. There. Yeah, So how long is that really?
- 42:59Speaker 1: How long is six chickens really going to you know
- 43:03Speaker 1: what I mean, like, you can't it's not going to
- 43:05Speaker 1: get you through if unfortunately, because then you get rid
- 43:08Speaker 1: of one, you got to start over. But you can
- 43:11Speaker 1: get ninety day birds. So as long as you can
- 43:12Speaker 1: get by for ninety days.
- 43:14Speaker 2: Ninety before is no man is an island. We all
- 43:17Speaker 2: need each other. And so through necessity, you know, I'm
- 43:21Speaker 2: having to go to the store or you know, things
- 43:23Speaker 2: like that. So I what are you going to do
- 43:26Speaker 2: except just yell into the sky, you know at this point?
- 43:29Speaker 1: Yeah, the kids they ran it. They showed me some
- 43:33Speaker 1: kind of YouTube that they watch, and I think they're
- 43:36Speaker 1: I know, I'm probably gonna get some flag for this.
- 43:37Speaker 1: It's somewhere European, basicly, I don't know exactly where, and
- 43:41Speaker 1: I'm only going potentially on accents, you know what I mean.
- 43:45Speaker 1: And they do this thing where they try American foods.
- 43:49Speaker 1: It's like this school, I don't know if it's a
- 43:51Speaker 1: school or a college or something, and they just try
- 43:53Speaker 1: these foods and it's just wild, from cereals to candy bars,
- 43:57Speaker 1: and they're just like this is terrible. You know, every
- 44:00Speaker 1: once in a while you're like, people eat this. Look
- 44:03Speaker 1: did you look at the ingredients? No, wonder why Americans
- 44:07Speaker 1: are so fat and like just stuff like that, and
- 44:09Speaker 1: it's like, I mean, I'm just looking at this quick list.
- 44:11Speaker 1: It's like thirteen foods banned in other countries but not here.
- 44:15Speaker 1: Ritz crackers are banned in other countries. They're outlawed in
- 44:20Speaker 1: several countries like the UK, Canada, Brazil. Right, mountain dew.
- 44:25Speaker 1: People love the mountain dew. I mean, I was at
- 44:27Speaker 1: a I was at a hah Christmas almost at Halloween,
- 44:30Speaker 1: a Christmas parade local pepsi companies and it they're handing
- 44:34Speaker 1: out cans of mountain dew and Gatorade banned in other countries.
- 44:38Speaker 1: They're banned in one hundred other countries. But apparently, according
- 44:45Speaker 1: to this article, there was a certain ingredients why it
- 44:48Speaker 1: was banned, and the drink no longer contains said ingredient
- 44:52Speaker 1: because of the controversy surrounding it. Hmmm, apparently it was
- 44:57Speaker 1: bvo M coffee, meat creamer band, Gatorade band, farm raised
- 45:09Speaker 1: salmon band, Skittles, Twinkies, frosted flakes. Even though they're great,
- 45:15Speaker 1: this one hurts my soul a little bit. Swiss cake rolls,
- 45:18Speaker 1: the Swiss rolls from Little Debbie Band. Certain meats US chicken,
- 45:23Speaker 1: US pork, and prepackaged ground beef are some of the
- 45:26Speaker 1: meats that you cannot purchase abroad.
- 45:29Speaker 2: And say what you want about the EU and other places.
- 45:33Speaker 2: I mean, those things are trying to protect their people
- 45:36Speaker 2: and some regulations are stupid and others can be very helpful.
- 45:39Speaker 1: Yep, pop tarts, band wheat thins, which I always grew
- 45:43Speaker 1: up thinking they were healthy, banned in Japan and Europe
- 45:48Speaker 1: because of an ingredient b HT, which is a carcinogen
- 45:53Speaker 1: which is in a lot of this stuff. And that's
- 45:56Speaker 1: not to you know, go on and on and on,
- 45:58Speaker 1: but that I that I that I Yeah, yeah, you
- 46:00Speaker 1: can share the screen. Well, I'm saying that app that
- 46:02Speaker 1: I did. I start scanning foods to see what the
- 46:04Speaker 1: hazardous stuff in there and what it's linked to. It
- 46:06Speaker 1: tells you like, oh, this could trigger breast cancer in women,
- 46:10Speaker 1: or this could do this, or my god, if I
- 46:12Speaker 1: can buy an alternative, why wouldn't I?
- 46:16Speaker 2: You know exactly. So I want to show you this
- 46:22Speaker 2: real quick. Yeah if I can, I'm trying to get
- 46:26Speaker 2: it to work for me. You're good, Okay, here we go,
- 46:30Speaker 2: Here we go. Okay, so we're talking about the guy
- 46:33Speaker 2: who talks about things. Now, we're not gonna watch the
- 46:35Speaker 2: whole fucking thing because this is no time.
- 46:37Speaker 1: Mm hmm.
- 46:38Speaker 2: But here he is. Can you see him a screen?
- 46:42Speaker 1: Yep? I Ian Carroll, Ian Carroll Show, yep.
- 46:46Speaker 2: Can you hear this? Guess who owns Hidden Valley Ranch?
- 46:49Speaker 3: Honestly, the whole sauce Aile was full of surprises, So
- 46:53Speaker 3: this game's pretty simple. We're gonna walk down the sauces
- 46:56Speaker 3: Aisle and we're gonna learn what corporations own all these
- 46:58Speaker 3: different brands, looking for small, family owned brands. It's all
- 47:02Speaker 3: started back in the cerial Aisle. When Nature's Path the
- 47:06Speaker 3: green part was the only family owned brando fire isle
- 47:11Speaker 3: of mega corporations all owned by the same big one.
- 47:14Speaker 3: Shout out to Panda Puff's baby. Ready gets started? Who
- 47:18Speaker 3: you think owns Hidden Valley Ranch? That's right, they're making
- 47:21Speaker 3: bleach and they're making Ranch. Florox Company, and it's the
- 47:25Speaker 3: big three investment managers, Vanguard, Black Rock and State Street.
- 47:29Speaker 3: If you are majority owned by these guys or the
- 47:32Speaker 3: other big money that you see at the top of
- 47:33Speaker 3: all these lists, then you get colored in red.
- 47:36Speaker 2: Okay, what's next?
- 47:37Speaker 3: Fishbone salad dressings owned by Unilever and they're also owned
- 47:40Speaker 3: by Vanguard and Black Rocks. So that's how we're starting out,
- 47:43Speaker 3: Boys and girls.
- 47:44Speaker 2: Next, we've got some wind Co generic stuff.
- 47:46Speaker 3: And by now we've learned that the generic brands of
- 47:49Speaker 3: all these stores are just manufactured by the same people
- 47:51Speaker 3: that make all the name brands, So we'll just call
- 47:54Speaker 3: it the generic brands orange because they ain't some local
- 47:57Speaker 3: business or anything.
- 47:58Speaker 2: And moving down the aisle, picking up where.
- 47:59Speaker 3: We left off, we come to craft and you may
- 48:01Speaker 3: already know that Kraft Hines is owned by the Big Three,
- 48:06Speaker 3: but Berkshire half the way I e. Warren Buffett owns
- 48:10Speaker 3: the shit out of Craft, one of his cash cops, so.
- 48:13Speaker 2: He is in charge there.
- 48:14Speaker 3: In honor of Warren Buffett being his own brand of
- 48:17Speaker 3: big money, we'll just let Wardy have his own purple color.
- 48:20Speaker 2: There you go, Buffy boy.
- 48:21Speaker 3: Okay, next, you got a couple of little brands up
- 48:23Speaker 3: top before we get to Kennon's. California Pizza Kitchen has
- 48:25Speaker 3: been passed around one hundred.
- 48:26Speaker 2: Times, ain't nobody want?
- 48:28Speaker 3: It? Used to be Pepsi, and then it was private equity.
- 48:30Speaker 3: Rihannas is actually the Dell Soul Food company. Dell's Soul
- 48:33Speaker 3: is Sabor Max, and sawoter Max is Laco Stanyan who
- 48:36Speaker 3: we met in the chip stole or shit, maybe it's
- 48:38Speaker 3: the juice style.
- 48:38Speaker 2: I forget.
- 48:39Speaker 3: Lacho Stanya has a giant masking corporation that owns a
- 48:41Speaker 3: whole bunch of other corporations.
- 48:43Speaker 2: So we'll go easy on. We'll let California Pizza Kitchen
- 48:46Speaker 2: just do its thing up.
- 48:47Speaker 3: There, and we'll let Marihannas keep their colors just the
- 48:50Speaker 3: way they are too. Well, let's be real, neither of
- 48:52Speaker 3: those of small family run businesses. And that brings us
- 48:55Speaker 3: to Ken's. Ken's has this huge section over here. They
- 48:58Speaker 3: must be owned by some giant corporation, at least that's
- 49:01Speaker 3: what I would have thought. It turns out they're owned
- 49:03Speaker 3: by members of the Crowley and Hannah families and they
- 49:06Speaker 3: were founded by Ken Hannah and they're privately held. Shit.
- 49:12Speaker 3: So we'll move and we'll leave this huge ken section
- 49:16Speaker 3: just how it is.
- 49:18Speaker 2: You get the idea. I don't want to take too
- 49:20Speaker 2: much up, but yeah, that's uh, that's just an example.
- 49:25Speaker 2: If you go to his page Ian Carroll Show, He's
- 49:27Speaker 2: got a playlist of eleven different videos that will be interesting,
- 49:32Speaker 2: make you laugh and make you just fuck into your
- 49:34Speaker 2: hands because you start realizing that everything's owned by the
- 49:37Speaker 2: same people or the same corporations, and how full that
- 49:42Speaker 2: can potentially be, not even getting into the perimeter of
- 49:46Speaker 2: the store, which is all milk and veggies and all
- 49:51Speaker 2: that other stuff, and where who owns the seeds and
- 49:53Speaker 2: stuff like that.
- 49:54Speaker 1: So yeah, I don't know. Maybe it's old age, Maybe
- 49:57Speaker 1: I don't know what it is. It's I've been into
- 49:58Speaker 1: stuff like that, and man, the there's a what is
- 50:02Speaker 1: it my lunch break? If you if you're ever looking
- 50:06Speaker 1: for something to watch on YouTube if you haven't check
- 50:08Speaker 1: out My lunch Break there YouTube has been. I mean
- 50:13Speaker 1: they jump to like they're already a one hundred and
- 50:15Speaker 1: fifty five thousand. They are going to be a very
- 50:18Speaker 1: very big show where he recaps his daily life more
- 50:22Speaker 1: or less on his lunch break about historical interests, and
- 50:24Speaker 1: he does it's a face. It's one of those faceless ones.
- 50:26Speaker 1: He does voiceover stuff, but he's just bringing up facts
- 50:30Speaker 1: after facts of like how you know, I think how
- 50:34Speaker 1: he puts it, or even Pat mcafe woul put it,
- 50:36Speaker 1: the old whites, all this old history that's being covered
- 50:39Speaker 1: up for some reason. And he's like he's digging up
- 50:42Speaker 1: some stuff, factual, questioning things and it's just like what
- 50:46Speaker 1: is really going on and that stuff I don't know
- 50:48Speaker 1: what intrigues me lately. And but that is a very
- 50:51Speaker 1: cool podcast and show on YouTube if you're ever looking
- 50:53Speaker 1: for something. And it's fairly quick stuff, and I mean
- 50:55Speaker 1: he's showing facts on the screen. It's very visual, you
- 50:58Speaker 1: know what I mean. And like I said, he just
- 51:00Speaker 1: it's not all about like hey, everybody check me out,
- 51:03Speaker 1: like subscribe my face. It's just facts, facts, facts, and
- 51:07Speaker 1: then like shout out all my Patreon peeps facts Facts,
- 51:09Speaker 1: you know what I mean. Like it's pretty cool. He
- 51:12Speaker 1: does a very good job behind it. So like the
- 51:15Speaker 1: latest one that he did was he's up to one
- 51:17Speaker 1: hundred and one episode. Just celebrated one hundredth episode and
- 51:20Speaker 1: you know, every couple of days they're coming out, and
- 51:22Speaker 1: it was just the Gate of All Nations is what
- 51:24Speaker 1: it's called. And it's it's good stuff.
- 51:26Speaker 2: But we can check it out.
- 51:29Speaker 1: Yeah. I just looked at the clock, and you've got
- 51:31Speaker 1: a busy day, a lot of stuff going on, especially
- 51:33Speaker 1: with the holidays, and oh shit, today's Thanksgiving. Happy Thanksgiving everybody.
- 51:39Speaker 1: Holy cow, I forgot. Today's the day we're gonna crush
- 51:42Speaker 1: some food. It took us fifty two minutes to realize
- 51:45Speaker 1: it's Thanksgiving today.
- 51:47Speaker 2: Yes it is. I'm excited. Hope you hope you have
- 51:50Speaker 2: a good Thanksgiving to you. I want if I could
- 51:52Speaker 2: pays a question to folks for absolutely think about this.
- 51:56Speaker 2: I want you all to go into your comment on
- 51:59Speaker 2: this video, go to your refrigerator and I want or
- 52:01Speaker 2: your mom's refrigerator, grandma's refrigerator, or pull up old stories
- 52:05Speaker 2: of times gone by.
- 52:07Speaker 1: Or going to the teacher's lounge and find something new refrigerator.
- 52:10Speaker 2: What is the oldest thing in your refrigerator? Condiments are
- 52:14Speaker 2: included packets of I don't have any more on my
- 52:17Speaker 2: on my fingers. If you have a packet of Taco
- 52:21Speaker 2: bell sauce or parmesan cheese and it has a date
- 52:24Speaker 2: on it, that counts.
- 52:25Speaker 1: Do Taco bell sauces have dates? No, of course, Okay,
- 52:28Speaker 1: because I was gonna, I was gonna say, shit, I
- 52:29Speaker 1: need to go look through mine, because I guarantee you
- 52:32Speaker 1: there is some a couple of year old tackle bait.
- 52:34Speaker 2: I take it back, I take it back. There's a
- 52:36Speaker 2: twenty twenty Taco Bell Corp. But I literally got this
- 52:39Speaker 2: two weeks ago. So this is just the same design
- 52:40Speaker 2: they've used for four years. So it is I'm smart.
- 52:42Speaker 2: Good for them.
- 52:43Speaker 1: Yeah, tell us the oldest thing.
- 52:44Speaker 2: I like that. I like that.
- 52:45Speaker 1: I'm gonna and we're gonna do that as well. I
- 52:48Speaker 1: think this one is easy to pan out. Instead of
- 52:50Speaker 1: going to a thrift store and find in the weirdest thing,
- 52:52Speaker 1: we'll we'll find the oldest thing in our fridge. Although
- 52:56Speaker 1: usually on the day that this comes out, it's garbage
- 52:57Speaker 1: night for me, so I do really try to throw
- 52:59Speaker 1: some shit. But yeah, I'll try to find the oldest thing.
- 53:03Speaker 1: I can tell you right now that I'll tell you
- 53:05Speaker 1: the oldest thing in there. And I don't know why,
- 53:07Speaker 1: but there is a there's pickled sausages like the ones
- 53:10Speaker 1: that you can get in a bar. It's just a
- 53:11Speaker 1: little one and they have been in my fridge with
- 53:14Speaker 1: a bag and they're in the back of there. They
- 53:17Speaker 1: say they don't go bad. And it's been a couple
- 53:19Speaker 1: of years. Nobody in the house is probably gonna eat these,
- 53:22Speaker 1: but they're still good.
- 53:24Speaker 2: I don't know why.
- 53:24Speaker 1: We just the idea bring them out for next week.
- 53:27Speaker 2: We'll eat them on the show next week.
- 53:28Speaker 1: I'm kidding, Okay, So Brandon's gonna come up to New
- 53:31Speaker 1: York to say hi and meet me. We're gonna be
- 53:33Speaker 1: in studio and we are going to eat malta probably
- 53:37Speaker 1: three to five year old.
- 53:39Speaker 2: We've got a hospital bed set up right here just
- 53:41Speaker 2: for him. As soon as he eats, it's gonna have dysentery.
- 53:44Speaker 1: You don't want to go to the hospitals around here, buddy.
- 53:46Speaker 1: We're not gonna make it out. So on that note,
- 53:50Speaker 1: hopefully everybody has a great Thanksgiving that's why you've been
- 53:53Speaker 1: couldn't be here was Thanksgiving, a lot of traveling. So
- 53:55Speaker 1: hopefully you guys eat well. Hopefully you guys enjoy it, eat,
- 54:00Speaker 1: sleep and be merry and don't eat too much because
- 54:02Speaker 1: if you're like me and probably brand and we got
- 54:04Speaker 1: to work the next day. So it's got to make
- 54:07Speaker 1: sure that the Friday, the Black Friday is there. Let
- 54:09Speaker 1: us know though too, if there's any great deals on
- 54:11Speaker 1: some stuff for Black Friday. I know it's like a
- 54:14Speaker 1: ten day event now instead of one day, So don't
- 54:18Speaker 1: leave your family to go wait in lines at a
- 54:21Speaker 1: place either. That's just dumb. I mean, come on, it's
- 54:24Speaker 1: port local the best you can. I know it's not
- 54:26Speaker 1: always affordable, but that's something that's important to us. We
- 54:30Speaker 1: do probably eighty five percent of our shopping at thrift
- 54:32Speaker 1: stores and local businesses pay a little bit more, but
- 54:36Speaker 1: you're getting it back at the end because you're paying
- 54:38Speaker 1: taxes in the area where you live with the taxes.
- 54:40Speaker 1: So I know it's not easy to do, especially with
- 54:43Speaker 1: certain things. You know, It's like with kids, you don't
- 54:45Speaker 1: want to go out and buy very beat up used
- 54:49Speaker 1: toys all the time when you can buy something fairly
- 54:52Speaker 1: you know, cheap in certain places. But one thing too
- 54:57Speaker 1: that my brain is saying that it's supporting small businesses
- 55:01Speaker 1: not exactly local, is uh, there's a lot of TikTok
- 55:03Speaker 1: shops that are people like us, that are you know,
- 55:06Speaker 1: selling t shirts and crafty stuff that I've got. I
- 55:09Speaker 1: got on there the other day and there was like
- 55:10Speaker 1: some really good stuff for like under two three bucks.
- 55:15Speaker 1: And it's not because there's a thing on there where
- 55:17Speaker 1: what it's what is it? International shipping and stuff like
- 55:19Speaker 1: this isn't. So that's how my brain justifies it.
- 55:24Speaker 2: But I get it. I get it.
- 55:26Speaker 1: Happy Thanksgiving everybody. We'll do this again next week. We
- 55:30Speaker 1: appreciate all of you. Keep your sticks on the ice,
- 55:33Speaker 1: and as you've Ben would say, give your grandma a
- 55:35Speaker 1: kiss for us. Bye bye.
- 55:38Speaker 3: Tie.
- 55:39Speaker 2: It's gonna be
- 55:42Speaker 1: You taling deep into your face with secresidest overs on
- 55:48Speaker 1: his side from the oldie sandwiches, taints and yoke p
- 55:52Speaker 1: Jausty
