- 0:18Speaker 1: Live from the Raising Kine studio. Here's Jacob Hester and
- 0:23Speaker 1: Matt Flynn.
- 0:44Speaker 4: You welcome, man, Thank you welcome.
- 1:03Speaker 2: I don't think that little I don't think. I think
- 1:05Speaker 2: Taylor gave me work adapt.
- 1:08Speaker 3: I got another one. What happened to your adapter, buddy?
- 1:12Speaker 2: I don't know, it decided it didn't want to work either.
- 1:14Speaker 2: Oh no, it definitely does not work.
- 1:16Speaker 3: You got to put it in like halfway.
- 1:19Speaker 5: Yeah, you gotta find the right spot.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Oh you sound like a robot. Well you got.
- 1:27Speaker 5: Well, he is Robot Flynn.
- 1:32Speaker 2: Fun things were fun.
- 1:34Speaker 5: What was that for Halloween?
- 1:36Speaker 3: Halloween? And then there was elf Flynn.
- 1:38Speaker 5: Elf Flynn came for Christmas?
- 1:40Speaker 3: That's right.
- 1:41Speaker 2: God, seems like a million years ago, right, A long
- 1:44Speaker 2: time ago.
- 1:46Speaker 3: Oh, thank you. It has been a long time.
- 1:51Speaker 6: You've taken so many like these, just relaxing weeklong vacations.
- 1:54Speaker 5: It works.
- 1:55Speaker 2: There we go. Hey, here you go. Oh I see you, yeah,
- 2:04Speaker 2: see you too, Jake, thank you appreciate.
- 2:06Speaker 3: That friend of me.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Yeah, the problem typically when I take vacation from this show,
- 2:11Speaker 2: it's to work more for another show. I know, No,
- 2:15Speaker 2: I know, but I did you know? I had plans
- 2:18Speaker 2: to take that week where you took the week when
- 2:20Speaker 2: you went skiing, But then those plans change and I
- 2:24Speaker 2: even had to do some NFL radio that week. So
- 2:30Speaker 2: do you know what? You could be digging a ditch
- 2:31Speaker 2: somewhere till the day. You should tell me anytime I complained.
- 2:38Speaker 6: And if you are digging a ditch, then you should
- 2:39Speaker 6: be the best darn ditch digger around.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Yeah, it's right. You can do everything the best. Like
- 2:47Speaker 2: if you have a bad howl and you're trying to
- 2:49Speaker 2: figure out how to get a better one, to work
- 2:50Speaker 2: at it, you work on it?
- 2:55Speaker 5: Did you work on it?
- 2:56Speaker 3: Working on it all? No? I hit that last one
- 2:58Speaker 3: yesterday so perfectly.
- 2:59Speaker 2: No, you didn't ailed it.
- 3:01Speaker 5: Let's hear like a Shakiro one.
- 3:05Speaker 6: But it's too early in the morning. I've had a
- 3:09Speaker 6: sore throat for a week and a half.
- 3:11Speaker 7: It's not in a proper acoustic environment to request this
- 3:16Speaker 7: from me.
- 3:18Speaker 2: So how are we doing? How we live in Jake Flynn,
- 3:21Speaker 2: Olande tat Wolf Pack back.
- 3:25Speaker 6: Let's go like I'm doing fantastic. I told you I
- 3:28Speaker 6: fell asleep out thirty yeah last night. That is an
- 3:32Speaker 6: hour to hour and a half extra sleep that I
- 3:34Speaker 6: normally do not get. Yeah, you boys tired yesterday? Yeah,
- 3:37Speaker 6: hybrid rockstar yesterday?
- 3:39Speaker 5: The hell Yeah?
- 3:40Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 3:41Speaker 6: I was a hybrid rock star yesterday for the second
- 3:43Speaker 6: time in three days. Really stepping up the work. That
- 3:46Speaker 6: a deal, A huge deal.
- 3:48Speaker 5: I wish we could go support you at the High Rocks.
- 3:51Speaker 6: I need a lot of support because, like, if you
- 3:53Speaker 6: watched me when I'm training for this.
- 3:55Speaker 2: High Rocks, are you dying?
- 3:56Speaker 3: I'm the ugliest person in the world.
- 3:58Speaker 6: Like it's it's not even it's not like, oh man,
- 4:01Speaker 6: this got It's.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Like and he's like really tired and he's breathing hard.
- 4:06Speaker 6: No, it's like ugly face almost puky the entire time,
- 4:10Speaker 6: purping up lunch.
- 4:11Speaker 2: You're selling s.
- 4:15Speaker 7: Person training for High Rocks. There's some ugly people out there. Man,
- 4:20Speaker 7: you ain't douglies, Okay, So you know, I'm just saying
- 4:24Speaker 7: I got that. You know, some people like when you
- 4:26Speaker 7: get like to that point of working out, there's nothing
- 4:28Speaker 7: you can do, like there's nothing you can do with
- 4:30Speaker 7: your face. You got you got the red face, Like
- 4:34Speaker 7: my mouth is open, like I can't breathe. I'm about
- 4:36Speaker 7: to die, holding back, like I said, holding back the pukes.
- 4:41Speaker 7: Like there's a lot of things happening, hands on hips,
- 4:43Speaker 7: hands on.
- 4:44Speaker 3: Hips, like laying on the ground, flopping.
- 4:46Speaker 5: Around, laying on the ground.
- 4:47Speaker 6: But then it's like flopping around seems like, but then
- 4:50Speaker 6: like all the movements you have to do, like when
- 4:52Speaker 6: you're exhausted, you just have to keep doing like you
- 4:54Speaker 6: do like burpies and burpie long broad jumps. It's like
- 4:57Speaker 6: there's nothing I can do, Like I look so unathletic,
- 5:01Speaker 6: so out of shape doing this, But then you think
- 5:03Speaker 6: about it, Well, I'm like an hour and a half
- 5:05Speaker 6: into this workout, I'm exhausted, and of course I'm doing
- 5:08Speaker 6: it ugly.
- 5:08Speaker 5: Right, you look good while you're doing.
- 5:13Speaker 3: Worst thing I've seen ever, Taylor.
- 5:17Speaker 8: Sorry, Oh my gosh, how unprofessional of you.
- 5:20Speaker 3: Well here's the thing.
- 5:21Speaker 7: I was pulling up YouTube to try to interact with
- 5:23Speaker 7: our really loyal listeners in the buy you four chat,
- 5:26Speaker 7: and my volume was I apologize so aggressive, but do.
- 5:30Speaker 6: Like how you spin right, just flipped it right, total spin.
- 5:34Speaker 6: Well done, smart, thank you. So yeah, it's I'm doing great.
- 5:38Speaker 6: I got, like I told you, about hour hour and
- 5:40Speaker 6: a half extra sleep. I woke up, did like a
- 5:43Speaker 6: ninja ninja flip out of my bed today. I was
- 5:45Speaker 6: ready feet on the ground, thanking the Lord for another day.
- 5:51Speaker 6: It's a ninja flip, Like ninja get up.
- 5:56Speaker 2: Off their back, straight straight to your feet.
- 6:02Speaker 3: That's how I felt. Something you and Brittany had to
- 6:04Speaker 3: do that time launder was like from.
- 6:06Speaker 5: The like from your knees to your Yeah, I can't
- 6:09Speaker 5: do that.
- 6:11Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I remember that. I got that. That's light work,
- 6:14Speaker 2: not a big deal. It wasn't even sore. How you doing, buddy?
- 6:22Speaker 2: You know I'm here, You're here from here.
- 6:25Speaker 3: You fell asleep even earlier than I do.
- 6:26Speaker 2: It's been like a nine to forty So the four
- 6:29Speaker 2: hours of NFL radio you're doing in the afternoon just
- 6:32Speaker 2: hit hitting a little different. Yeah, it's long, you know
- 6:35Speaker 2: that fourth hour leans on you, leans on you a
- 6:39Speaker 2: little bit a little heavier. Yeah, it's two to six,
- 6:43Speaker 2: set of two to five.
- 6:44Speaker 3: All right, big commitment.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, it is wild getting done at six
- 6:52Speaker 2: compared to getting done at five.
- 6:54Speaker 6: It's a different world. That's a big hour, like in
- 6:56Speaker 6: the parenting world. Yeah, five to six it is a
- 7:00Speaker 6: big hour, big hour. A lot of things in the
- 7:03Speaker 6: streets happened at five thirty.
- 7:04Speaker 2: Life changes if you're walking out of that door at five.
- 7:07Speaker 3: Or six o'clock.
- 7:09Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like you know, when you wake up early,
- 7:10Speaker 2: like waking up at four thirty in the morning compared
- 7:15Speaker 2: to five thirty in the morning. It's only an hour.
- 7:17Speaker 2: It's a huge difference the hour. You know, anything that
- 7:21Speaker 2: starts with a four when you wake up, it hurts
- 7:23Speaker 2: more than when you wake up with a five or six.
- 7:25Speaker 2: It's a mental thing, could be probably and also a
- 7:29Speaker 2: sleep thing. Yeah, that too. But you know what I'm saying,
- 7:32Speaker 2: Oh I get it.
- 7:34Speaker 6: Yeah, that's a especially for you you've a lot of
- 7:37Speaker 6: a lot of commitments. Of course, you have seventeen kids,
- 7:39Speaker 6: and you know that all happens in a five to
- 7:41Speaker 6: six o'clock hour.
- 7:42Speaker 3: So for you, you enjoy it.
- 7:43Speaker 6: Though you're enjoying like so I guess is you have
- 7:47Speaker 6: always very knowledgeable obviously about the entire country big school,
- 7:50Speaker 6: small school, medium school, whatever it is, on everything college football.
- 7:54Speaker 6: Now you're having to I mean it's less teams, certainly,
- 7:57Speaker 6: but I would assume the NFL audience demands some sort
- 8:03Speaker 6: of expertise on all things, every position, every single team.
- 8:07Speaker 2: Oh, for sure or without question. It was your college
- 8:10Speaker 2: football knowledge going to kind of go down a little bit.
- 8:13Speaker 2: It already has it, already has okay, got it, it
- 8:16Speaker 2: already has welcome, Yes, welcome. Yeah, you know you worry
- 8:22Speaker 2: about thirty two teams compared to one hundred and thirty
- 8:25Speaker 2: five or whatever the hell we're up to now. Yeah, yeah,
- 8:28Speaker 2: a little uh, it's a little easier, but very newsy.
- 8:32Speaker 2: This is a big like time yeah, yeah, right in
- 8:37Speaker 2: just a free agency free.
- 8:39Speaker 7: Agency franchise going to be born before you do. Yeah,
- 8:43Speaker 7: in the NFL is year round.
- 8:45Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, let's see, what would the slowest points
- 8:49Speaker 6: be July?
- 8:51Speaker 3: But even after after the super Bowl? Maybe we're not
- 8:55Speaker 3: we're not that full removed. But the super Bowl was.
- 8:58Speaker 5: Three weeks ago, I think, like right before training camp.
- 9:01Speaker 3: Yeah, like like June.
- 9:03Speaker 6: Yeah, they would probably get pretty tedious, like the week's
- 9:06Speaker 6: leading up to the draft, Like you're talking about the
- 9:08Speaker 6: same things over and over. People are moving for no
- 9:11Speaker 6: absolute reason because they haven't had a workout.
- 9:14Speaker 7: June July but even then you're talking about the rookies
- 9:17Speaker 7: that you drafted, what you saw from them early on,
- 9:19Speaker 7: So like it's a year round thing, you.
- 9:23Speaker 2: Know, just like yesterday we had a massive trade the
- 9:27Speaker 2: Chiefs and the Rams and Trent McDuffie going to the
- 9:30Speaker 2: Rams and then the Chiefs getting back. Let me see
- 9:32Speaker 2: if I can remember a first, a fifth, a sixth
- 9:34Speaker 2: this year and a third next year for who Trent
- 9:38Speaker 2: McDuffie corner.
- 9:40Speaker 3: I thought of, I thought of you in that trade.
- 9:42Speaker 2: What they got a first, a fifth, a sixth and
- 9:45Speaker 2: a third rounder next year. Well, remember we'll just talk
- 9:50Speaker 2: about I know, we just turned to our corners.
- 9:53Speaker 7: Corners like McDuffie's good. But so it makes sense that
- 9:57Speaker 7: it's the Rams though, Matt. They've had one first round
- 9:59Speaker 7: They've used one first round pick since twenty seventeen, and
- 10:03Speaker 7: it was Jared Verse, who's actually been really good.
- 10:06Speaker 2: Let me see, so since twenty seventeen, just don't believe
- 10:09Speaker 2: in them. Twenty seventeen traded to Titans, twenty eighteen traded
- 10:13Speaker 2: to the Patriots, twenty nineteen traded to the Falcons, twenty
- 10:16Speaker 2: twenty and twenty one traded to the Jugu Wars twenty
- 10:19Speaker 2: two to twenty three, traded to the Lions. Twenty four
- 10:22Speaker 2: they select Jared Verse, pretty good player. Twenty twenty five
- 10:25Speaker 2: traded to the Falcons. Twenty twenty six traded to the Chiefs.
- 10:31Speaker 2: Some point somebody's gonna have to put a gun to
- 10:33Speaker 2: their head and make him pick. And they said, the
- 10:35Speaker 2: hell of them picks.
- 10:37Speaker 6: Yeah, it would be some funny like that, Michael Jordan
- 10:40Speaker 6: of the kids.
- 10:42Speaker 3: Next year, they can't find anybody to trade with them.
- 10:44Speaker 3: They just don't turn in their cards.
- 10:46Speaker 2: Like I don't really know what we don't want to
- 10:48Speaker 2: do here.
- 10:50Speaker 3: They select Texas with a dollar sign. They don't show
- 10:53Speaker 3: up the first night. They're like, we've never had a pick.
- 10:56Speaker 3: Well a couple of Thursday.
- 10:57Speaker 2: Well, the good thing for them they still have a
- 10:59Speaker 2: pick in the early teen because they do have the
- 11:01Speaker 2: Falcons pick. So that twenty nine for them was a luxury,
- 11:06Speaker 2: and so they went and got a player and Trip McDuffie,
- 11:09Speaker 2: who was injured last year didn't play as much, but
- 11:11Speaker 2: it's been really good. They wouldn't I don't think they
- 11:15Speaker 2: make that move if they don't have a second pick
- 11:17Speaker 2: out six thirteen Cowboys or twelve. Well, the third's in
- 11:23Speaker 2: next draft, So kick it down the road. They'll get
- 11:27Speaker 2: that back. They probably don't want to because they hate
- 11:31Speaker 2: draft picks. That's a good point. But we did talk
- 11:35Speaker 2: about their roster kind of ready to go everywhere. Maybe
- 11:41Speaker 2: they could pray off the ball linebacker, maybe get an
- 11:43Speaker 2: upgrade there, but you can get that a third round,
- 11:46Speaker 2: second round. What do you think about them taking Ty Simpson?
- 11:51Speaker 2: Now your your windows open right now. They want to
- 11:55Speaker 2: make it. They want to get a new deal done
- 11:56Speaker 2: with Stafford two. Like those conversations are happening, Like if
- 11:59Speaker 2: you wants to play he's playing there, how many years
- 12:01Speaker 2: does he have left on his current because he just
- 12:03Speaker 2: signed a new deal, didn't he it was?
- 12:08Speaker 3: Was it two years ago?
- 12:13Speaker 2: So to that point, I'm pretty sure he signed a
- 12:15Speaker 2: new deal last all season because he was probably a
- 12:17Speaker 2: two year deal if I was assumed though, Right. Yeah,
- 12:20Speaker 2: So if you're the Rams and you you know your
- 12:23Speaker 2: windows wide open, like you know, you still have an opportunity,
- 12:28Speaker 2: like you draft Ty Simpson, that's for the future. You're
- 12:30Speaker 2: not worried about the future right now, you're just worried
- 12:32Speaker 2: about the current.
- 12:33Speaker 6: Yeah, well, there's there's a couple of ways to think
- 12:36Speaker 6: about it. I believe in that whole situation. I mean,
- 12:40Speaker 6: Sean McVay is going to be there a long time
- 12:41Speaker 6: as long as he wants young guys. So you got
- 12:44Speaker 6: to kind of plan for the future. But you also
- 12:48Speaker 6: notably you're like you said, the window is open. I
- 12:51Speaker 6: think you can go sign free agents to fill your needs,
- 12:54Speaker 6: draft somebody like like a quarterback if you believe in
- 12:57Speaker 6: that guy who knows what the rams believe.
- 12:59Speaker 3: I'm just saying just theo.
- 13:00Speaker 6: If you have a quarterback at thirteen you believe in,
- 13:03Speaker 6: you could take him fill all your needs with money
- 13:07Speaker 6: back in the contracts. Knowing Stafford is coming off the
- 13:10Speaker 6: payroll in two, three years, whatever it is, then you
- 13:16Speaker 6: could back in a lot of these vets, pay them,
- 13:18Speaker 6: pay them, you know, ten million this year, but the
- 13:20Speaker 6: next year they get thirty million, whatever it is. So
- 13:22Speaker 6: you say, all right, these guys that we need, we
- 13:24Speaker 6: got a lot to pay them. It's gonna be a
- 13:26Speaker 6: big cap in two or three years, but we know
- 13:27Speaker 6: fifty five millions coming off, yeah, because of Stafford, and
- 13:31Speaker 6: we have our quarterback. So you could There's there's different
- 13:34Speaker 6: ways to think about it, different schools of thought. From
- 13:36Speaker 6: a GM standpoint, and I don't know what the best is.
- 13:38Speaker 6: I just kind of posing the question as to I mean,
- 13:43Speaker 6: the Rams are in a luxury position very.
- 13:45Speaker 2: Much so, right, and they also have twenty seven and
- 13:48Speaker 2: a half million dollars a cap room.
- 13:49Speaker 6: Yeah, and the Falcons help them be in a luxury position.
- 13:59Speaker 3: Anyway.
- 14:01Speaker 6: It's an interesting school of thought though, is because you
- 14:04Speaker 6: know you're going to pee paying Stafford fifty five million,
- 14:10Speaker 6: but it's not forever, so you can back in some
- 14:13Speaker 6: veteran contracts, guarantee them their second or third years or uh,
- 14:18Speaker 6: things like that.
- 14:21Speaker 2: Rams are gonna be okay, they can be right, they
- 14:23Speaker 2: can be okay.
- 14:24Speaker 3: Second best team in the NFL this year.
- 14:26Speaker 2: I said the same yesterday. Yeah, and Patriot.
- 14:28Speaker 3: Fans probably one A, one B like you play that game.
- 14:31Speaker 2: Again, said the same thing. Yep, Yeah, it's winner of
- 14:34Speaker 2: that game is going to win it.
- 14:36Speaker 3: Yep mm hmm.
- 14:38Speaker 2: So that's why you makes real good the brother really
- 14:41Speaker 2: really good? All right? Didn't have that on the bingo card.
- 14:45Speaker 2: What talking about the Rams in the first segment. Well,
- 14:48Speaker 2: you beginning make a big move, truth.
- 14:54Speaker 6: I mean, listeners probably didn't want to talk about the
- 14:57Speaker 6: baseball game last night.
- 14:59Speaker 3: The other time about the rams.
- 15:00Speaker 2: Well, eventually like and eventually it's coming. Next segment, we
- 15:06Speaker 2: had to talk about it. It's the old was the
- 15:09Speaker 2: old panic meter. You know, it's just HM.
- 15:15Speaker 3: When do you push the button? Panic button? Yeah?
- 15:19Speaker 2: I wanted you. Okay, got it? Well, you're tired, tired
- 15:23Speaker 2: of not an idiot, that's true. All right, we'll take
- 15:28Speaker 2: a break, we'll come back. We'll get the show started
- 15:31Speaker 2: with LSU baseball going down in Lafayette and we'll do
- 15:35Speaker 2: it right here on OTV.
- 15:37Speaker 1: Off the bench, all right, go.
- 15:39Speaker 2: To Central Plumbing dot org not only in Central but

- 18:19Speaker 8: gonna fault you on that. Any song that's not Wonderwall
- 18:24Speaker 8: or like Champion Supernova is a deep cut.
- 18:29Speaker 2: I'll tell a lot of people. Yeah, yes, definitely heard

- 18:35Speaker 3: That's good, right, Yeah.

- 20:21Speaker 2: All right, LSU baseball goes down to Louisiana Lafayette seven
- 20:26Speaker 2: to two. Last night in Lafayette they were out hit
- 20:31Speaker 2: nine to seven and you had three big errors in
- 20:36Speaker 2: the game. And it's probably something we haven't talked enough about.
- 20:41Speaker 2: We'll talk about the lineup, certainly, talk about the pitching staff,
- 20:44Speaker 2: but remember how good they were defensively last year, and
- 20:49Speaker 2: every time Jay Johnson joined us, he would talk about
- 20:52Speaker 2: it and talk about you know what, it's done for them,
- 20:56Speaker 2: and there's been some sloppiness in the field as well
- 20:59Speaker 2: over the last couple of games, and certainly early in
- 21:01Speaker 2: this game it really cost them because they're throwing the
- 21:04Speaker 2: ball around, not making the plays that we have seen
- 21:07Speaker 2: them and certainly we know they're capable of making. So
- 21:10Speaker 2: that's one of the things certainly that stood out to me.
- 21:12Speaker 7: Well, we talked about it the other day, right the
- 21:15Speaker 7: Monday game against the Northeastern when Northeastern jumped on you quick. Now,
- 21:19Speaker 7: John Pearson was at first and a lot of people
- 21:21Speaker 7: aren't going to consider him an every day starter, but
- 21:23Speaker 7: I mean he had two big time eras in the
- 21:25Speaker 7: first inning of that game. Cooper Williams is clean going
- 21:28Speaker 7: into the second if he makes those plays, and I mean, dude,
- 21:31Speaker 7: like you give up three runs in the first inning
- 21:33Speaker 7: off of Gavin Gidrey, but I mean very little help
- 21:36Speaker 7: from the field as well. Like you mentioned, I thought
- 21:39Speaker 7: it was interesting that Gidrey started, but I mean he
- 21:41Speaker 7: had two strikeouts. Control was a little bit of an issue,
- 21:44Speaker 7: but yeah, the defense has got to get better.
- 21:49Speaker 6: Watching the game, of course, very what a great, great
- 21:54Speaker 6: atmosphere though, by the way, like watching it, it seemed
- 21:56Speaker 6: like it was pretty awesome atmosphere.
- 21:58Speaker 7: Pat just redid that for about two years. Agoeah, it
- 22:01Speaker 7: looked like a really cool place to play it.
- 22:03Speaker 3: I mean.
- 22:05Speaker 6: Night game, a lot of purfle was there as well,
- 22:07Speaker 6: so like it looked like a really cool environment to
- 22:09Speaker 6: just go and play baseball like it like that would
- 22:11Speaker 6: kind of get you going, certainly in the midweek, especially
- 22:13Speaker 6: like coming off the Monday night game against Northeastern where
- 22:16Speaker 6: there was like zero people in the in the stands,
- 22:18Speaker 6: you know what it's ah, so for a Wednesday night,
- 22:21Speaker 6: probably a pretty cool.
- 22:22Speaker 3: Place to play, but the execution just wasn't. I mean,
- 22:25Speaker 3: it just wasn't there.
- 22:26Speaker 6: The top of your lineup gets hot finally, but I
- 22:30Speaker 6: think Landra we were looking at it before the show started.
- 22:33Speaker 3: In the last six.
- 22:34Speaker 2: Games, the starting lineup for Fellowship with that in two
- 22:39Speaker 2: fifteen to ten.
- 22:40Speaker 5: Yeah, so thirty nine hits in one hundred and eighty.
- 22:43Speaker 6: Six and that's with Curie I'll be in three for
- 22:45Speaker 6: three last night and Jake Brown being two for four
- 22:47Speaker 6: last night.
- 22:48Speaker 8: Kuriel and Jake Brown in the last six games both
- 22:51Speaker 8: lead with most hits at seven.
- 22:52Speaker 6: So you're starting nine bat in two ten in the
- 22:54Speaker 6: last six games, which obviously not good. But but you
- 22:59Speaker 6: didn't feel that bad going into at least Monday night
- 23:02Speaker 6: because you won three this past weekend, but you still
- 23:05Speaker 6: didn't hit well your pitchers.
- 23:07Speaker 3: Yeah, mister tailors, the middle.
- 23:09Speaker 8: Of your lineup, usually the bottom half of your lineup
- 23:12Speaker 8: isn't gonna be as productive as like the top in
- 23:15Speaker 8: the middle of your lineup.
- 23:16Speaker 5: But the middle of your lineup is slumping bad right now.
- 23:20Speaker 8: Between Zach York and Steven Mylam, Zach York is two
- 23:23Speaker 8: for eighteen in the last six games. Steven Mylam is
- 23:26Speaker 8: three for twenty. So when you have the top of
- 23:28Speaker 8: your lineup setting the table. Jay is really good at
- 23:31Speaker 8: setting a lineup right. So like you have Derek Curriell
- 23:34Speaker 8: and Jake Brown, who are gonna get on base, They're gonna.
- 23:36Speaker 5: Get a hit. Korea was a little, He was a little, but.
- 23:41Speaker 8: He had three for eighteen over the weekend, so like, okay,
- 23:44Speaker 8: but he usually is very consistent. So the top of
- 23:48Speaker 8: your lineup is getting on base, and then the people
- 23:50Speaker 8: that are supposed to drive them in, with the exception
- 23:52Speaker 8: of Trent Carroway, just aren't doing a good job of it.
- 23:55Speaker 8: Like Trent Carroway, He's the only reason we have two
- 23:58Speaker 8: runs last night.
- 24:01Speaker 3: Smash that ball.
- 24:01Speaker 2: I mean it's Jake Brown, Curiel and Caraway. Jake Brown
- 24:05Speaker 2: hitting four hundred, Carrie is hitting three thirty three, Carroway's
- 24:08Speaker 2: hitting three ten. You don't have another hitter a regular
- 24:11Speaker 2: that would qualify, you know, to be in this conversation.
- 24:14Speaker 2: Mason Brown to eighty one, Aaron beat two seventy nine,
- 24:17Speaker 2: Dart r two sixty five, Stephen Mylam two sixty, Zach
- 24:20Speaker 2: York two fifty six.
- 24:23Speaker 3: Zach York is Stee Mylam. They they're the ones that
- 24:25Speaker 3: you got to get.
- 24:25Speaker 8: Well, especially Stephen Blom. Like we talk about all the time,
- 24:28Speaker 8: how Steven Mylam is very consistent. Last year, was super consistent.
- 24:34Speaker 8: Was always going to get on bass, was going to
- 24:36Speaker 8: drive runs in. So when he goes cold, I we
- 24:40Speaker 8: talked about it. He was going to be a big
- 24:41Speaker 8: piece of this team too. I still think he can't.
- 24:44Speaker 8: I mean, you can come out of.
- 24:45Speaker 3: A slump and look like I was watching.
- 24:47Speaker 6: I watched two of his bats last night and they
- 24:51Speaker 6: just had the perfect shift on Like he hit what
- 24:53Speaker 6: what normally be a base hit the third baseman third, Yeah,
- 24:57Speaker 6: the third base I mean it was like they playing
- 24:59Speaker 6: a short right fielder, and like they just said, and
- 25:02Speaker 6: then another one, he hits it right at the middle,
- 25:03Speaker 6: and there's a guy they have a shift on.
- 25:04Speaker 3: He's hits it right to a guy that's shifted.
- 25:06Speaker 8: I'm glad you said that. So there's this thing that
- 25:09Speaker 8: you can It's called batting average with balls in play.
- 25:13Speaker 8: So every time a ball is put in play, what's
- 25:15Speaker 8: the batting average for that? Like how many times is
- 25:17Speaker 8: it actually getting make right? So over the last six
- 25:21Speaker 8: games it's two fifty seven. Usually it's like between three
- 25:25Speaker 8: hundred and three twenty.
- 25:26Speaker 3: Two fifty seven and just put the ball in between
- 25:28Speaker 3: the fifth putting on.
- 25:29Speaker 8: Like the batting average when the ball is in play,
- 25:31Speaker 8: so like when you make a hit, so like are
- 25:35Speaker 8: they getting that out or like are they getting on base?
- 25:37Speaker 8: What is it? It's two fifty seven, So that actually,
- 25:41Speaker 8: like I feel like, tells the bigger story that they're
- 25:45Speaker 8: just kind of hitting into bad luck a little bit,
- 25:48Speaker 8: hitting into the shift. Like you said, it's not an excuse,
- 25:52Speaker 8: but it is a little bit of an interesting stat
- 25:53Speaker 8: to look at that, Like the batting average balls with
- 25:56Speaker 8: balls in play is two fifty seven, where it's usually
- 26:00Speaker 8: hundred and three twenty.
- 26:02Speaker 7: Well, and to her point, like Mylam's been in a
- 26:04Speaker 7: slump before, we've seen it. He's been here three years,
- 26:06Speaker 7: but he always comes up with the clutch hit. Yeah,
- 26:08Speaker 7: it's not happening this year. Like Okay, yesterday she mentioned
- 26:11Speaker 7: York and Mylam York Milam. Aaron Beattie was four, five
- 26:14Speaker 7: and six in the lineup. They combined, oh for ten
- 26:18Speaker 7: last night, Oh for ten, And that's when your top
- 26:21Speaker 7: two or five for seven. Yeah, and Derek Curiel drew
- 26:23Speaker 7: a walk to your leadoff batter, got on base four
- 26:26Speaker 7: times last night and did not score a run.
- 26:29Speaker 3: You left seven runners on base last night.
- 26:31Speaker 6: Yeah, but I'll look at like Stephen mylams slumped just
- 26:35Speaker 6: because what we just said different than like Zach York's.
- 26:38Speaker 2: Like Zach York just yeah Zax just lazy, like just slump.
- 26:41Speaker 3: Like popping it up ground.
- 26:42Speaker 6: Like, well, at least Stephen Mylam's hitting it and should
- 26:45Speaker 6: have had two bases and like if they weren't shifted,
- 26:47Speaker 6: it's like traditional base.
- 26:50Speaker 2: Of it.
- 26:51Speaker 8: The shift is my least favorite thing ever because it
- 26:54Speaker 8: always works against LSU and to do it it's for LSU.
- 26:58Speaker 5: Ever, like I'm i guess to know the numbers.
- 27:01Speaker 8: I'm gonna see if I could try to find this,
- 27:03Speaker 8: like the number of times that issue has made a
- 27:06Speaker 8: play in the ship.
- 27:07Speaker 7: The shift reminds me of like when another team is
- 27:10Speaker 7: going forward on fourth down against you and football You're like,
- 27:13Speaker 7: this is stupid.
- 27:14Speaker 3: Why are you going for it on fourth down?
- 27:15Speaker 7: And they go for it, You're like, I didn't want
- 27:16Speaker 7: them to because I knew that crap was gonna work
- 27:18Speaker 7: against me, and I knew it wouldn't work.
- 27:20Speaker 1: That.
- 27:20Speaker 3: That's exactly what the shift reminds me of. Absolute bullshift. Yeah,
- 27:26Speaker 3: that is exactly what it is.
- 27:28Speaker 2: Like.
- 27:28Speaker 6: That was such an aggressive thank you. It was one
- 27:31Speaker 6: of the most aggressive shifts ever on that one with
- 27:33Speaker 6: Steve Guy, just like a slap of button down that
- 27:37Speaker 6: they're just as j J just beat the shift.
- 27:44Speaker 5: What's the deal.
- 27:46Speaker 6: Ja taking taking it? Taking a lot of the blame.
- 27:48Speaker 6: Last night after the game, in an interview, saying question,
- 27:52Speaker 6: I don't remember what the question it didn't like the
- 27:54Speaker 6: clip that I saw didn't set the question, but Jock
- 27:57Speaker 6: du said had posted it, so I assume he was
- 27:59Speaker 6: asking if he said I probably didn't set the team
- 28:01Speaker 6: up very well with the scheduled early season scheduling, And
- 28:06Speaker 6: I'm like, I don't know, Jay, I mean, I get it,
- 28:09Speaker 6: you're their head cut, like you got to take the
- 28:11Speaker 6: way and you're like quarterback on the day that he
- 28:13Speaker 6: always take the playing for something. But like scheduling, really,
- 28:18Speaker 6: I'm so tough, like they got they got a roster
- 28:21Speaker 6: full of baseball players.
- 28:22Speaker 3: You got a roster full of baseball players.
- 28:24Speaker 2: Saying it in challenge him enough, I don't know what
- 28:26Speaker 2: they actually I don't know what he meant by it.
- 28:28Speaker 7: He could have been the number of games number of
- 28:31Speaker 7: year and started saying whatever a couple of weeks ago,
- 28:34Speaker 7: saying we wanted to play the extra games. They played
- 28:36Speaker 7: five games in six days twice this year already. Yeah,
- 28:39Speaker 7: and like you're really not going The only time you're
- 28:41Speaker 7: ever really going to do that is if you're in
- 28:42Speaker 7: the loser's bracket in Omaha and you make it to
- 28:44Speaker 7: the championship series.
- 28:46Speaker 3: Truly, the only time you're going to do so.
- 28:47Speaker 7: Maybe maybe that's what he means, because like everybody plays
- 28:49Speaker 7: the out of conference like that's that's that's not a
- 28:52Speaker 7: I know, people like they blame Kim Mulk, you're having
- 28:55Speaker 7: a soft out of conference, that's not the issue.
- 28:57Speaker 3: I imagine he's talking about the number of games.
- 28:58Speaker 5: Maybe Matt and I were talking about it this morning.
- 29:00Speaker 8: I'm like this, like beginning of the season schedule is
- 29:05Speaker 8: tougher than it has been in the past.
- 29:06Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I don't think. I don't think he's talking
- 29:09Speaker 3: about the quality of opponents.
- 29:10Speaker 5: Yeah, I think you're right that it's like the volume.
- 29:13Speaker 7: Right, because he did mention on here a couple of
- 29:15Speaker 7: weeks ago. This is something I haven't usually done in
- 29:17Speaker 7: the past.
- 29:18Speaker 5: So anyway, your head coach, I will say though that like, sorry,
- 29:23Speaker 5: go ahead.
- 29:24Speaker 6: I was just saying your head coach taking taking a
- 29:25Speaker 6: lot of taking some of the blame off the players,
- 29:27Speaker 6: which I didn't really understand, like hit the ball, catch
- 29:31Speaker 6: the ball.
- 29:33Speaker 3: That's that's what you need to go do the interviews
- 29:35Speaker 3: and be like, no, Matt, why did your team fail?
- 29:38Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 29:40Speaker 6: I'm watching these people playing. I fought the second basement
- 29:44Speaker 6: made three air. I saw one of the guys yesterday
- 29:47Speaker 6: have about twelve cuts of the ball. I don't know
- 29:50Speaker 6: if it came within six inches of it once.
- 29:54Speaker 5: Yeah, you need to be in the press conference, like
- 29:58Speaker 5: I need you in there.
- 29:59Speaker 6: Jay Walks up the podium, you tap on the shoulder.
- 30:01Speaker 6: I got this one, Yeah, I got I got I
- 30:02Speaker 6: got this one. Just take this one off. But schedule's perfect.
- 30:07Speaker 6: At the ball you're doing a great job.
- 30:10Speaker 3: So I did.
- 30:10Speaker 6: Its like in all serious as Laundra and I were
- 30:12Speaker 6: talking before the show, and I don't know if this
- 30:13Speaker 6: is what you're about to bring up, but like I'm
- 30:15Speaker 6: watching the game and I don't know if i've and
- 30:18Speaker 6: I hadn't sat down to watch one through anyone through nine. Yeah,
- 30:21Speaker 6: so I'm watching it intermitutely throughout. I got kids helping
- 30:23Speaker 6: with homework, doing all this stuff. But I hadn't seen
- 30:27Speaker 6: like emotion from the team yet, or like intensity or
- 30:31Speaker 6: like even getting mad if you strike out or pop up.
- 30:33Speaker 6: And I get it, like you gotta stay chill, like
- 30:35Speaker 6: this is that's still March fifth.
- 30:37Speaker 3: I get it.
- 30:38Speaker 6: But on the other side, and of course I know
- 30:42Speaker 6: plain Las shoes like Mount Everest for a lot of
- 30:46Speaker 6: the smaller school team. And I don't mean that disrespectfully,
- 30:48Speaker 6: it just kind of is what it is. They're getting
- 30:50Speaker 6: fired up when they strike somebody out, and like there's
- 30:52Speaker 6: there's a motion to what they're doing. I hadn't really
- 30:54Speaker 6: seen that yet, and I know that'll come. And I
- 30:58Speaker 6: know that also has something to do with a mount
- 31:00Speaker 6: of games that they played, But I don't know. It's
- 31:03Speaker 6: just something that stuck out to me. And I don't
- 31:05Speaker 6: even know if it's a negative. I just haven't seen
- 31:08Speaker 6: people get excited when they score or get a hit,
- 31:11Speaker 6: or get mad when they don't. I hadn't seen that yet.
- 31:14Speaker 5: You didn't see the motor.
- 31:15Speaker 1: Boat was the lead.
- 31:20Speaker 5: And you know what they did this weekend too.
- 31:24Speaker 3: Oh, I don't know. I've only saw them one time.
- 31:26Speaker 7: They may have guy is hitting the ball, Yeah, Jake
- 31:30Speaker 7: Brown ever since the war motor boating.
- 31:34Speaker 3: Mother ob.
- 31:39Speaker 8: My response to that was that I don't really feel
- 31:41Speaker 8: like Jay's teams usually have a lot of like overly
- 31:45Speaker 8: emotional and Jay got ejected once. It's two years ago
- 31:52Speaker 8: versus was it against Florida.
- 31:55Speaker 3: It was a conference game. It may have been the thing.
- 31:58Speaker 3: It's time bring up.
- 32:00Speaker 5: I don't know about getting objected.
- 32:03Speaker 3: Row bats onto the field. I think it's time light
- 32:07Speaker 3: of fire. Let's go for a Friday.
- 32:12Speaker 7: What's like, uh like, Rachel Phelips says on Major League
- 32:14Speaker 7: too soft on these guys.
- 32:16Speaker 3: Take away the hot water.
- 32:18Speaker 5: That's what she did, make them do foul poles.
- 32:25Speaker 2: Any lou Brown makes all right, we'll take a break
- 32:31Speaker 2: more O t B when we come back here live
- 32:33Speaker 2: from the Raising King studio, off the bench. All right,
- 32:37Speaker 2: it is baseball season, which means it's long nights at
- 32:40Speaker 2: the ballpark, cold drinks and watching the Tigers get after it.
- 32:44Speaker 2: So if you're looking for the perfect beer to pair
- 32:46Speaker 2: with nine innings, reach four dose se So whether you're
- 32:50Speaker 2: grilling before first pitch, watching the game with your crew,
- 32:53Speaker 2: or post it up at your favorite bar around baton Rouge,
- 32:56Speaker 2: Do Seis is crisp, refreshing and always a clutch choice.
- 33:00Speaker 2: So next time you're stocking up the cooler for a
- 33:01Speaker 2: night of baseball, make sure do Sekis is in the
- 33:05Speaker 2: line at do Sequis. Enjoy the game, enjoy the moment.
- 33:08Speaker 3: And they got like a flavor for everything.
- 33:11Speaker 6: So it's not just about that delicious ice cold Mexican
- 33:15Speaker 6: lager that they had the Logger especially now they got
- 33:17Speaker 6: the Amber Special, they got Mischillattas, they got a lime
- 33:20Speaker 6: and salt, they got a mango, they got a pineapple,
- 33:22Speaker 6: so they got something for every occasion.
- 33:24Speaker 3: So baseball, we just talked about a lot of games,
- 33:27Speaker 3: that's a.
- 33:27Speaker 6: Lot of tailgate opportunities, a lot of opportunities to drink.
- 33:31Speaker 3: Do seqis.
- 33:31Speaker 6: So if you're gonna do it, make sure you do
- 33:33Speaker 6: it responsibly. But go to your local waterhole, go to
- 33:36Speaker 6: your groceres or whatever it is. Get you some dough.
- 33:38Speaker 1: Sectis Jus two thousand and seven, Champs Purple and Gold

- 34:56Speaker 2: the pre made meals, sides, everything right there. You're not
- 34:59Speaker 2: gonna get in credible local items as well at your
- 35:02Speaker 2: local Rouses. So go to Rouses dot com, Rowses dot com.
- 35:07Speaker 2: You know, one of the things we were talking about
- 35:09Speaker 2: it since it could have been doing a ton of
- 35:11Speaker 2: NFL stuff talking you know, quarterbacks and who's got what options,
- 35:17Speaker 2: And it's a draft that's not very deep, and it's
- 35:20Speaker 2: a free agent class that's not very young. It's got
- 35:23Speaker 2: a bunch of guys that used to be stars, but
- 35:25Speaker 2: they're older now and they're past their prime. And just
- 35:29Speaker 2: every quarterback situation and who maybe can you trade for
- 35:32Speaker 2: Kyler Murray got released blah blah blah blah blah. I'm like,
- 35:35Speaker 2: thank god, we don't have to talk about one of
- 35:38Speaker 2: these options for the New Orleans Saints and trying to
- 35:42Speaker 2: figure out what band aid you can put on the
- 35:45Speaker 2: bullet hole to try to stop the bleeding.
- 35:48Speaker 3: Yeah, what I mean.
- 35:51Speaker 6: The Saints, like, who would have thought halfway through the
- 35:54Speaker 6: season this year and we would sit here and feel
- 35:57Speaker 6: pretty good about what we're headed into free agency?
- 36:00Speaker 2: That salary cap looks in the past, Yeah, compared to
- 36:05Speaker 2: what I's been.
- 36:07Speaker 6: It's been the worst salary cap management like ever until
- 36:10Speaker 6: until recently, and you got your long term quarterback.
- 36:15Speaker 3: So it is a luxury.
- 36:17Speaker 6: And this is certainly not the year that you want
- 36:19Speaker 6: to be trying to find your long term quarterback in
- 36:22Speaker 6: free agency, and unless you're the Raiders in the draft
- 36:26Speaker 6: right especially, I mean at least immediate long term answer,
- 36:30Speaker 6: Like any one of these quarterbacks can get drafted in
- 36:32Speaker 6: the first, second through seventh round and be a franchise quarterback,
- 36:37Speaker 6: just probably not immediately except for Mendoza.
- 36:43Speaker 2: Yeah, because you're kind of looking at the rest of
- 36:45Speaker 2: the market. It's you know, take a chance on them.
- 36:48Speaker 2: Malik Willis, it's Aaron Rodgers who's only going to play
- 36:51Speaker 2: for Pittsburgh, and Mike McCarthy if he plays, it's Russell Wilson.
- 36:54Speaker 2: But he said that as of yesterday, I'm a McAfee show.
- 36:57Speaker 2: He didn't have a contract offer. He did that did
- 37:01Speaker 2: a mean thing. They played koy Ale last year. I mean,
- 37:04Speaker 2: what the Steedler's gonna do is gonna be Will Howard,
- 37:06Speaker 2: Mason Rudolph. They're gonna take Aaron Rodgers. I mean I
- 37:14Speaker 2: would take Aaron Rodgers. Yeah, me right now me too.
- 37:18Speaker 2: So I don't have the biases that you have, and
- 37:20Speaker 2: I'm still taking Aaron Rodgers.
- 37:21Speaker 6: What do you think about only let me ask that,
- 37:23Speaker 6: let's just take out Aaron Rodgers out of the equation
- 37:25Speaker 6: for the Steelers, what do you think about Kyler Murray?
- 37:28Speaker 6: Murray to the Steelers under Mike McCarthy, under West Coast offense,
- 37:31Speaker 6: a different type of offense.
- 37:33Speaker 2: I'm not gonna answer that that's so much more in
- 37:35Speaker 2: your lane. You played in that offense. You know that
- 37:37Speaker 2: offense in the NFL. Okay, I didn't play for Mike McCarthy, though,
- 37:42Speaker 2: I'm gonna.
- 37:43Speaker 3: Think I think.
- 37:44Speaker 2: I think.
- 37:45Speaker 6: I think Kyler Murray is certainly no less talented than
- 37:47Speaker 6: he was a handful of years ago. I think he's
- 37:50Speaker 6: played in a terrible organization. I think there's an opportunity
- 37:53Speaker 6: for him to reinvent his career and actually be a
- 37:58Speaker 6: good quarter I'm never gonna say great, but like a
- 38:00Speaker 6: good quarterback. I'm sure he's a little bit more mature,
- 38:03Speaker 6: maybe a little less call of duty these days. But
- 38:08Speaker 6: if there's gonna be a way to do it, it's
- 38:10Speaker 6: not gonna be with the Jets. He's not gonna get
- 38:12Speaker 6: better with the Jets, but a stable organization with a
- 38:16Speaker 6: one of the one of the good guys as a
- 38:20Speaker 6: head in the NFL, as a head coach who has
- 38:22Speaker 6: been known to make quarterbacks have quarterback friendly offenses. I
- 38:26Speaker 6: know his offense. It's awesome. West Coast offense is incredible
- 38:31Speaker 6: for a quarterback. It makes sense. The footwork is there.
- 38:34Speaker 6: It's all about footwork. You can't be sloppy like that's
- 38:38Speaker 6: what you train. You train footwork and it's all about
- 38:40Speaker 6: footwork and his ability to make I think that move.
- 38:46Speaker 6: If it's not Aaron Rodgers, I think Kyler Murray to
- 38:48Speaker 6: the Steelers actually has a chance to be really good
- 38:52Speaker 6: for both parties on that. Now, again, I'm not ever
- 38:55Speaker 6: gonna put like Kyler Murray in this. I'm just trying
- 38:58Speaker 6: to make something positive out of this quarterback group, out
- 39:01Speaker 6: of this quarterback crop, because I know the destinations that
- 39:04Speaker 6: he could go to and it's not going to be
- 39:06Speaker 6: good by AKA the Jets, AKA the Jets. So that's
- 39:11Speaker 6: the one where I would try to stay away from
- 39:14Speaker 6: if I was anybody. But if the Steelers don't go
- 39:17Speaker 6: after a Rogers, I think that would be an opportunity.
- 39:20Speaker 3: I'm not Kyler to the Dolphins.
- 39:23Speaker 2: I mean again, I don't know that the Dolphins ever
- 39:25Speaker 2: going to be good.
- 39:26Speaker 7: No, I know, I'm just I'm just looking at the
- 39:27Speaker 7: players they got. You get a Devon a Chain, you
- 39:30Speaker 7: got a Jaylen Waddle.
- 39:31Speaker 2: I don't know if I want Kyler Murray going to
- 39:34Speaker 2: live in Miami.
- 39:37Speaker 3: You think pittsburghs safer.
- 39:39Speaker 6: Yeah, I just And I don't say that as a
- 39:41Speaker 6: knock to anybody that this is one of the reasons
- 39:44Speaker 6: why I say I don't think the Dolphin's ever going
- 39:47Speaker 6: to be good. You're dealing with kids twenty two to
- 39:51Speaker 6: thirty years old for most of your roster, with way
- 39:54Speaker 6: too much money. Living in Miami. I think there's too
- 39:56Speaker 6: many distractions there to ever like be championship caliber team.
- 40:05Speaker 3: They can prove me wrong, but I think.
- 40:07Speaker 2: In general, yeah, like for anybody.
- 40:09Speaker 6: Yeah, but I when I was in there, I knew
- 40:15Speaker 6: multiple like agents and financial advisors that didn't want their
- 40:18Speaker 6: players to go to Miami because they would get too distracted,
- 40:22Speaker 6: they wouldn't play, they would.
- 40:23Speaker 3: Lose all their money, they would do this or that.
- 40:25Speaker 6: They'd be chasing bottle service, it'd be chasing, well, be
- 40:29Speaker 6: chasing something. So I'm just saying that. I don't think
- 40:33Speaker 6: like with the history, like again the call of duty stuff.
- 40:36Speaker 6: I mean, they still got that in Pittsburgh, get it.
- 40:38Speaker 6: But like I think, I just I don't think Miami
- 40:42Speaker 6: is never going to be yet.
- 40:48Speaker 2: I mean, started this car twentization with the point thank god,
- 40:55Speaker 2: seems don't have to play this game this years crushing it,
- 40:58Speaker 2: thank god. Not a fun game to play playoffs, so're
- 41:03Speaker 2: saying it's just us, just us saying that. But we
- 41:08Speaker 2: will get with the New Orleans Saints options in the
- 41:13Speaker 2: NFL draft when we come back here on OTV. Off
- 41:17Speaker 2: the bench, all right, I want to take a second
- 41:21Speaker 2: tell you about something really special and cool happening this month.
- 41:24Speaker 2: Our friends over at Pelican Roofing and I've kicked off
- 41:27Speaker 2: their third annual run with RUFUS fundraisers. So every single
- 41:31Speaker 2: day this month they're running a five k in the
- 41:33Speaker 2: Pelican mascot costume rufous to raise awareness and money for
- 41:37Speaker 2: someone in our community who needs it. So this year
- 41:40Speaker 2: they're raising funds for eleven year old Joe Maskovas, who
- 41:44Speaker 2: tragically was shot in the spine, leaving him paralyzed from
- 41:47Speaker 2: the neck down and dependent on a ventilator. So Joel
- 41:50Speaker 2: is currently undergoing stim cell treatments and his family is
- 41:53Speaker 2: working to raise money needed to continue those treatments this year,
- 41:57Speaker 2: which could help him regain some function. Rol is forty
- 42:00Speaker 2: thousand dollars and every single donation helps Joel and his
- 42:03Speaker 2: family keep fighting. If you want to help, you can
- 42:06Speaker 2: head over to run with rufus dot com. That's run
- 42:09Speaker 2: with rufus dot com. You'll find the full story in
- 42:12Speaker 2: a direct link to donate again. That is run with
- 42:15Speaker 2: rufus dot com. Let's help this family any way we can.
- 42:37Speaker 1: Locked in on LSU football twenty four to seven. You're
- 42:40Speaker 1: listening to off the Bench.
- 42:45Speaker 2: Yeah you are big voice lady.
- 42:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 42:53Speaker 2: Latest mock draft on ESPN dot com. I believe Jordan
- 42:56Speaker 2: Reed put this one out. Has the New Orleans Saints
- 42:58Speaker 2: selecting Jeremy I love, running back out of Notre Dame
- 43:02Speaker 2: at eight in Jeremy Barnard, receiver out of Alabama at
- 43:07Speaker 2: forty two.
- 43:10Speaker 3: I love Jeremy Bernard.
- 43:12Speaker 2: About ty Ty Montgomery sixth round? Yeah, I might have
- 43:18Speaker 2: seen him at Singer Bowl.
- 43:19Speaker 3: I'd be so fired up if they took him in
- 43:21Speaker 3: six or seven.
- 43:23Speaker 5: Mickey was paying attention at the Senior Bowl.
- 43:25Speaker 2: I actually I'm with taste Jim. As far as the
- 43:28Speaker 2: Jeremy Bernard.
- 43:29Speaker 3: I don't care how he is.
- 43:31Speaker 2: Forty two was earlier than I thought he would go.
- 43:33Speaker 2: But Jeremy Bernard, it was really good at Washington, was
- 43:36Speaker 2: good Obama, very versatile guy. I like other receivers more
- 43:40Speaker 2: in this draft. So I don't know about forty two.
- 43:42Speaker 2: If you got him in the third round, I would'd
- 43:44Speaker 2: be awesome. I do a little tap dance. I would
- 43:45Speaker 2: feel very excited about that one. It looked like Bean
- 43:48Speaker 2: Crosby and the Holiday Inn. You know, remember this people.
- 43:51Speaker 7: Were people were crapping O'Ryan Williams, and I get he
- 43:53Speaker 7: had some drops, but they're like, oh, sophomore slump. I'm like, no,
- 43:56Speaker 7: Jeremy Bernard is the one making all the plays. Jeremy
- 43:58Speaker 7: Bernard's taking his catches.
- 44:00Speaker 2: So if the Saints went running back receiver, how are
- 44:04Speaker 2: we feeling?
- 44:04Speaker 3: I'm not feeling great?
- 44:05Speaker 2: I know, yeah, I love it.
- 44:07Speaker 3: I loved I know.
- 44:11Speaker 2: My good buddy Matt Miller, who does ESPN's draft stuff too,
- 44:14Speaker 2: he thinks he's the best overall player in this class.
- 44:17Speaker 2: And that might be so. But where you're at as
- 44:22Speaker 2: a team. I just don't know that that helps you
- 44:24Speaker 2: the most. There's other teams, Like if he went to
- 44:27Speaker 2: the Chiefs at nine, I feel different because everybody's got
- 44:31Speaker 2: different needs. Everybody's got different things they're looking for, And
- 44:35Speaker 2: I just think with the New Orleans Saints you have
- 44:37Speaker 2: more pressing needs than running back. And with this running
- 44:40Speaker 2: back free agent class, if if you say, okay, ak,
- 44:44Speaker 2: it's a it's not you, it's me, like a situation,
- 44:49Speaker 2: and you got to go, okay, well have him and
- 44:51Speaker 2: then go sign somebody else. Right, travesse Et is going
- 44:55Speaker 2: to be out there, Rico Dall's going to be out there. Now,
- 44:57Speaker 2: Kenneth Walker is going to be too expensive, but he's
- 44:58Speaker 2: out there. Isaia Pacheco's out there. There's a guy that
- 45:01Speaker 2: you can get that can give you some juice at
- 45:03Speaker 2: the running back position without having.
- 45:05Speaker 5: To spend it might be good value. Who doubt all?
- 45:09Speaker 2: Yeah, I might be good value. He's probably he is
- 45:13Speaker 2: six point five million is estimated salary, which you can handle.
- 45:17Speaker 6: That, Yeah, if he truly is the number the best
- 45:20Speaker 6: prospect yeah in the draft, and he's available.
- 45:23Speaker 3: At eight, like you can.
- 45:24Speaker 6: I keep saying this and I know it's not gonna happen,
- 45:27Speaker 6: but you can get such good trade value for that.
- 45:29Speaker 6: You get such a good like somebody's going to move
- 45:31Speaker 6: as a contender.
- 45:32Speaker 2: You've I met Mickey Lewis before, and actually you've played
- 45:37Speaker 2: for Mickey.
- 45:37Speaker 6: He actually hired me, yeah, and also pretty much fired
- 45:41Speaker 6: makes he didn't rehire me.
- 45:43Speaker 2: Yeah, I know. I don't like I don't like the
- 45:47Speaker 2: Saints to select a running back. And we'll get into
- 45:49Speaker 2: it more when we come back.
- 45:50Speaker 1: I have number two off the bench.
