- 0:00Speaker 1: Scrubbing in with Beca Tilly and Tanya Red and iHeartRadio
- 0:04Speaker 1: and two times People's Choice Award winning podcast Hello Everybody,
- 0:13Speaker 1: We are scrubbing it one final time of twenty twenty
- 0:19Speaker 1: five and now the year in the books, the last scrub,
- 0:25Speaker 1: the last scrub of the year. I'm sadast years over
- 0:30Speaker 1: personally a good year.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm excited about twenty twenty six.
- 0:35Speaker 1: Yes, you know, much on the horizon.
- 0:38Speaker 3: Much on the horizon can be twenty twenty six.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Yeah, yes it is.
- 0:44Speaker 2: I do.
- 0:44Speaker 1: I do get this like itch in the New Year,
- 0:48Speaker 1: Like I love like chapter one of twelve and like
- 0:52Speaker 1: you know what I mean, like new Year, new y,
- 0:54Speaker 1: fresh start, make it what you want, paint the town red.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Like there's this this like energy that I get in
- 1:01Speaker 1: January that I don't have any other month of the year.
- 1:03Speaker 2: I feel like the New Year really starts in February
- 1:07Speaker 2: because I feel like January it's like you're coming off
- 1:09Speaker 2: of this RESTful time and also kind of stressful like that.
- 1:13Speaker 2: I feel like the holidays can also be stressful for people.
- 1:15Speaker 2: And then and in the first month, even though the
- 1:20Speaker 2: vibe that you're fed is like you need to go
- 1:23Speaker 2: it's a new year, get in shape, do all the
- 1:25Speaker 2: things you want to do. It's like I like to
- 1:27Speaker 2: just ease into it.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Oh No, I'm like fired up, Like I'm like, let's
- 1:32Speaker 1: go whoa whoa. Well, I was like before I went
- 1:39Speaker 1: on on like my break, like on my Christmas my
- 1:42Speaker 1: winter break, work was like piling up, like it was
- 1:46Speaker 1: like in January, you're gonna do this this And I
- 1:48Speaker 1: was like, oh wow, Like it does like I feel
- 1:50Speaker 1: like everybody just like hits the ground running in January.
- 1:53Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, there's stuff, there's stuff to be done.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Yeah, but my soul feels it breeds a little more time.
- 2:01Speaker 2: It needs a little more time than society allows.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Yeah, a little in between from the lay and the
- 2:06Speaker 1: and the run exactly.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Yeah, the lay and the sleigh.
- 2:11Speaker 1: It's good.
- 2:13Speaker 2: So you're in the d r yes, ringing in the
- 2:17Speaker 2: new year, just.
- 2:18Speaker 1: Ring it in ring ring dingle ling ling.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Are you like, uh, since since you're not really drinking
- 2:25Speaker 2: this year, are you ending it with a beverage? You
- 2:27Speaker 2: think like a celebratory champon.
- 2:30Speaker 1: You know what's so funny. I was actually gonna bring
- 2:32Speaker 1: champagne in for when you came back from like when
- 2:35Speaker 1: your engagement in Japan. Yeah, and I was like, Easton
- 2:38Speaker 1: doesn't drink. I thought Mark would be here. Mark doesn't drink.
- 2:40Speaker 1: I'm not drinking, so I'm gonna have a.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Whole bottle just but I really don't drink.
- 2:45Speaker 1: Yeah, you don't really drink that much. So I was like, woo, yeah, yeah,
- 2:50Speaker 1: I'll probably have like a ceremonial sip, a ceremonial sip
- 2:54Speaker 1: to ring it in. That's what I do when I'm
- 2:56Speaker 1: like out. I don't like casually drink anymore. Like I'm
- 2:59Speaker 1: not just like drinking to drink, but when there's like
- 3:02Speaker 1: an occasion, I'm gonna throw back a little bit.
- 3:05Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, we love that. I think that
- 3:09Speaker 2: we are doing Haley's dad is riding in the Rose
- 3:12Speaker 2: Pick parade.
- 3:13Speaker 3: Wow.
- 3:13Speaker 2: Yeah, so we're gonna go, well, I've never been before,
- 3:16Speaker 2: so we're gonna go watch him do that, which I
- 3:18Speaker 2: think will be a very early morning.
- 3:20Speaker 1: New Year's Day.
- 3:21Speaker 2: Yeah so you guys, Yeah, which I mean like staying
- 3:29Speaker 2: up till midnight isn't you know, when we're just hanging
- 3:32Speaker 2: out at home tilling I don't really feel a lot
- 3:34Speaker 2: of pressure to stay up till midnight.
- 3:36Speaker 1: It's tough to stay up till midnight when sometimes we'll.
- 3:38Speaker 2: Like barely make it and we're like happy New Year,
- 3:40Speaker 2: good night.
- 3:41Speaker 1: You want I really want to do one New Year
- 3:43Speaker 1: And we we talked about it, I think last year,
- 3:49Speaker 1: but we like, I always want to throw a New
- 3:51Speaker 1: Year's party.
- 3:52Speaker 2: You did talk about this last year, but I don't
- 3:54Speaker 2: want to.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Like have it be like a party. I wanted to
- 3:55Speaker 1: be like a pajama party where we have like friends
- 3:57Speaker 1: over and play games and like watch the show Ideal.
- 4:01Speaker 2: Right, yeah next year, because I.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Feel like there's like a lot of pressure when you
- 4:05Speaker 1: throw into yours party because it's like the best art
- 4:07Speaker 1: of the year, like you, like, everybody's expecting to have
- 4:09Speaker 1: the best time. So I'm like that's a lot of
- 4:10Speaker 1: pressure to hold on to. Yeah, but if you make
- 4:12Speaker 1: like a pajama party, expectations and everyone can be comfortable
- 4:17Speaker 1: and cozy but like together. I love a game night
- 4:21Speaker 1: New Year like yeah, with loved ones, loved.
- 4:24Speaker 2: Ones and food and fellowship.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Yeah next year.
- 4:29Speaker 2: Well, we are getting all lot with I like it, though,
- 4:33Speaker 2: I know, I know, I know it's a good it's
- 4:35Speaker 2: a good season that we're in. Yeah, should we do
- 4:38Speaker 2: some of our favorites of the year.
- 4:40Speaker 1: Yeah, well, I feel like we never got to any
- 4:42Speaker 1: of these, Like people submitted questions like end of the
- 4:45Speaker 1: year questions through Instagram that we never got to, and
- 4:47Speaker 1: I feel like.
- 4:49Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, they've been patiently waiting for weeks.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Now answer these patiently waiting.
- 4:53Speaker 2: Well, let's tackle some of them, shall we?
- 4:56Speaker 1: That we shall?
- 4:57Speaker 2: Do you want to lead the way?
- 4:58Speaker 1: Sure? Okay, I'm gonna start with this one because like
- 5:02Speaker 1: let's just like talk about the elephant in the room. Okay, Becca,
- 5:08Speaker 1: who will be your maids of honor?
- 5:10Speaker 2: Wow? I feel like you'll be a maid of honor? Yeah,
- 5:15Speaker 2: for sure. I haven't thought me on that, Like I
- 5:21Speaker 2: obviously have people that are in my life. I just
- 5:23Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, do I just make everyone kind of
- 5:27Speaker 2: a maid of honor? Do I just give people like
- 5:29Speaker 2: specific roles of like where I think they'll thrive, you know,
- 5:33Speaker 2: like you're so good at celebrating and planning and like
- 5:37Speaker 2: doing the most, so like, of course you'll you'll be
- 5:40Speaker 2: a maid of honor in my wedding. I don't see
- 5:44Speaker 2: a world where you're not. But I have, you know,
- 5:46Speaker 2: my sisters, I have jo But everyone's like in a
- 5:51Speaker 2: new season of life where I don't know, they'll have
- 5:53Speaker 2: so much to give and you also will probably be
- 5:55Speaker 2: in that season of life whilst I'm planning.
- 5:58Speaker 1: But we're still gonna be so happy to totally.
- 6:02Speaker 2: But I'm seeing it's a life. Life goes in a
- 6:07Speaker 2: different direction. You know, you get more capacity.
- 6:09Speaker 1: Can I give you a piece of advice sure that
- 6:11Speaker 1: you didn't ask for?
- 6:12Speaker 2: Sure?
- 6:14Speaker 1: Depending on how many bridesmaids you're gonna have, if you're
- 6:17Speaker 1: gonna have like a big bridal party, I think having
- 6:21Speaker 1: maids of honor and like differentiating, does I guess make sense.
- 6:24Speaker 1: My bridal party was so small. Three of my five
- 6:28Speaker 1: were maids of honor, and I'm like, I wish I
- 6:30Speaker 1: would have just made everybody a maid of honor, do
- 6:32Speaker 1: you know what I mean? Like, I don't know why
- 6:36Speaker 1: I did that. Like in hindsight, I'm like, I wish
- 6:37Speaker 1: I would have made everybody because all of you did,
- 6:40Speaker 1: like really worked on everything together, and I think that's
- 6:43Speaker 1: really how it always is. Yeah, yeah, that's just my
- 6:46Speaker 1: little tip. Well, you know, take it for what you want.
- 6:51Speaker 2: I just I want everyone. I don't know that I
- 6:54Speaker 2: want a huge party because I think trying to arrange
- 7:02Speaker 2: or putting expectations on people could make me feel overwhelmed.
- 7:06Speaker 2: So I don't know. I'll have to get there. When
- 7:08Speaker 2: I get there, yeah, you'll be there.
- 7:10Speaker 1: I can help stress, and I'm just so happy to help.
- 7:13Speaker 1: Just put me in coach, coach.
- 7:16Speaker 2: Oh.
- 7:17Speaker 1: I wanted to answer this one because a lot of
- 7:18Speaker 1: people have been hitting me up about this. Tanya, what
- 7:20Speaker 1: happened to your natural nail era? It's over? It is over.
- 7:26Speaker 1: It lasted about I think three months in total. I
- 7:30Speaker 1: don't know if anybody else has this nervous habit, but
- 7:33Speaker 1: when I don't have nails on, so I have like
- 7:35Speaker 1: fake nails on when I don't have any sort of
- 7:37Speaker 1: because I would just I was doing like polish, just
- 7:39Speaker 1: like regular polish. I pick at the skin around my fingers,
- 7:44Speaker 1: especially my thumbs.
- 7:45Speaker 3: Yeah, I do that.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Do you think I think a lot of people because
- 7:49Speaker 2: you do it without realizing you're doing it.
- 7:51Speaker 1: I'm it's like bleeding, Like my fingers just start getting
- 7:53Speaker 1: bloody and then I keep picking until they're like bleeding more.
- 7:57Speaker 1: And for some reason, when I have fake nails on,
- 7:59Speaker 1: I don't do that. So for my own fingers sake.
- 8:01Speaker 2: I didn't know what Tanya Tonya goes one day after
- 8:07Speaker 2: the podcast, She's like, look at my nails. And I
- 8:11Speaker 2: was shook because there was a time where I had
- 8:14Speaker 2: I had taken off the color of my nails or something.
- 8:16Speaker 2: They weren't done, and Tonya made such a fuss about
- 8:18Speaker 2: how unkept my hands looked without them being done, and
- 8:22Speaker 2: I was like, ma'am, you look like you've been gnawed on.
- 8:27Speaker 1: But I was just the skin around my nails, not
- 8:30Speaker 1: my nails. My actual nails were still gorgeous. It's the
- 8:33Speaker 1: skin around.
- 8:34Speaker 2: I'm sorry it took away from the beauty of the nail.
- 8:38Speaker 1: Having to rocks.
- 8:40Speaker 2: I think it's a natural habit to do. I do
- 8:41Speaker 2: it too. If I don't have my nails done with
- 8:44Speaker 2: my gel, I will attack them.
- 8:47Speaker 1: It's also bite their nails. I don't bite my nails.
- 8:52Speaker 1: The skin around them is gone. So the natural nail
- 8:55Speaker 1: journey ended for me unfortunately quickly.
- 9:01Speaker 2: What is something you want to take less seriously this
- 9:04Speaker 2: next year?
- 9:08Speaker 1: That's a tough one because I think everything so seriously.
- 9:12Speaker 2: I want to take everything less seriously because like I
- 9:15Speaker 2: had this moment recently where I was like, we are
- 9:18Speaker 2: in this big world, and like we're so minuscule and
- 9:23Speaker 2: and like this is a sad reality, but it is reality.
- 9:26Speaker 2: But like, aside from the next generation and maybe the
- 9:30Speaker 2: next one, no one's gonna remember you. Yeah, like no
- 9:33Speaker 2: one's gonna remember me, like the people who knew me,
- 9:36Speaker 2: and like maybe other people, their kids or something might
- 9:39Speaker 2: remember me or know of me. But like with how
- 9:43Speaker 2: seriously and uh dramatically I feel about things. When I
- 9:48Speaker 2: put myself in that headspace, it makes everything feel so
- 9:51Speaker 2: less daunting and like big, and I just want to
- 9:56Speaker 2: be like I want to be kind, I want to
- 9:59Speaker 2: love people. I want people around me to feel like
- 10:02Speaker 2: seen because that's what's presently happening. And I don't want
- 10:05Speaker 2: to take everything so seriously or feel like these small
- 10:08Speaker 2: inconveniences in life feel like so grand and they're really
- 10:13Speaker 2: not that big of a deal. And I also really like,
- 10:16Speaker 2: obviously people have bad days, and like one person's situation
- 10:21Speaker 2: doesn't make someone else's situation less valid. But I really
- 10:25Speaker 2: don't have anything to complain about, Like I have a
- 10:27Speaker 2: very incredible life, and like I just want to be
- 10:31Speaker 2: able to like help people and love people, and for
- 10:33Speaker 2: people when they think of me to think of those
- 10:35Speaker 2: things and not be anything more dramatic than that.
- 10:39Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, I think I realized this year that
- 10:44Speaker 1: because my my acupuncturists in this like trying to conceive era,
- 10:47Speaker 1: her biggest thing is like you need less stress, like
- 10:51Speaker 1: relax and that's why I was calling it like my
- 10:52Speaker 1: soft girl era. But I think I realized that in
- 10:56Speaker 1: this season, how much I live my life and like
- 11:00Speaker 1: fight or flight I don't know how to like and
- 11:02Speaker 1: that's not really the right term, but how much I
- 11:04Speaker 1: live my life of like so go go go and
- 11:07Speaker 1: so stressed. Like I'm always just like stressed about like
- 11:10Speaker 1: getting to work on time, doing this, doing that. Like
- 11:12Speaker 1: my whole day is just like a to do list
- 11:16Speaker 1: of like little stressors and it's like we all have it.
- 11:18Speaker 1: It's like a part of life. But I think because
- 11:20Speaker 1: I just I just take everything so seriously and I
- 11:23Speaker 1: don't need to do that, you know what I mean,
- 11:25Speaker 1: Like I can like put my shoulders down and do
- 11:29Speaker 1: what I need to do and not make everything. I
- 11:30Speaker 1: just think I naturally tend to make things more just
- 11:33Speaker 1: like natural everyday tasks more intense and I need to
- 11:38Speaker 1: just like chill out.
- 11:40Speaker 2: It's all about working smarter and not harder. Yeah, like
- 11:44Speaker 2: life can be hard. Why make it harder for yourself?
- 11:47Speaker 2: You know? Yeah, Like the things that you're stressing about,
- 11:50Speaker 2: they're either going to happen or they're not. They are
- 11:52Speaker 2: they are going to happen. Yeah, Like you know you
- 11:55Speaker 2: have to get to work on time, So like you're
- 11:57Speaker 2: gonna get to work on time, right, why would you
- 11:59Speaker 2: add to stressed about We're getting to work on it?
- 12:01Speaker 1: And like it's so weird. I've only slept through my
- 12:04Speaker 1: alarm really like once or twice in my entire career,
- 12:07Speaker 1: and yet every morning I'm so scared I'm going to
- 12:09Speaker 1: sleep through my alarm, so I'm waking up an hour
- 12:11Speaker 1: before to check it. And I'm like, I hate that.
- 12:14Speaker 2: Like, I mean, you did say you're already stressed about
- 12:18Speaker 2: Christmas and New Year's being over. You couldn't even enjoy it?
- 12:21Speaker 1: Correct, Yeah, there's clearly there's a lot of work I
- 12:24Speaker 1: need to do in the new year. That's a little
- 12:26Speaker 1: bit about me.
- 12:27Speaker 2: What do you want to let go?
- 12:29Speaker 3: Oh?
- 12:29Speaker 1: Man?
- 12:31Speaker 4: We Alison and I watched a meteor shower the other
- 12:33Speaker 4: day and it made us feel or reminded us how
- 12:37Speaker 4: insignificant we are, you know, like this is a rock
- 12:40Speaker 4: burning up like how many millions of miles away and
- 12:44Speaker 4: I'm enjoying it down here on earth. It could hit
- 12:48Speaker 4: me right now and then that would hopefully be the
- 12:50Speaker 4: end of it all. Yeah, because I too, you know,
- 12:53Speaker 4: I saw someone on TikTok saying like, I'm going to
- 12:55Speaker 4: work to send an email with the nervous system of
- 12:57Speaker 4: someone going to war.
- 12:58Speaker 2: You know.
- 12:58Speaker 4: Really, yeah, I too feel that way. And I get
- 13:02Speaker 4: myself rarely worked up about stuff that does not totally.
- 13:05Speaker 4: I get myself really worked up about, you know, things
- 13:08Speaker 4: that no one's going to listen to with respect. But
- 13:12Speaker 4: so I want to I want to take every I
- 13:15Speaker 4: want to take everything less seriously next year. I mean,
- 13:17Speaker 4: come on, this is the one life we get, and
- 13:19Speaker 4: I want to spend it all looking for joy and
- 13:22Speaker 4: trying to create joy.
- 13:22Speaker 3: That's all I want to do.
- 13:23Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I feel that way too. I think that
- 13:27Speaker 1: this question is like the best question to kind of
- 13:31Speaker 1: like sum up our years. Should we get to it?
- 13:34Speaker 1: After the break.
- 14:03Speaker 2: We're back, We're back.
- 14:07Speaker 1: So, since this is our last podcast of twenty twenty five,
- 14:11Speaker 1: I saw this question. I thought it's just like the
- 14:13Speaker 1: perfect way to sum up the year on our last podcast. Okay,
- 14:18Speaker 1: what are the top three highlights of this year for you? Ooh, anyone?
- 14:28Speaker 2: Do you want to start?
- 14:29Speaker 1: Mine are very easy, Okay, because I got married this year, Okay,
- 14:32Speaker 1: so I would say my wedding obviously. I think that's
- 14:37Speaker 1: like one of the top highlights of my life. Couldn't
- 14:40Speaker 1: have been better. I had the absolute time of my
- 14:43Speaker 1: life and I could not have like I couldn't asked
- 14:46Speaker 1: for anything better, truly. I think our honeymoon was another
- 14:51Speaker 1: highlight of like not even just the year of my life.
- 14:54Speaker 1: There was something so special. It's like not just a vacation,
- 14:56Speaker 1: it's like a totally different type of vacation. And we
- 14:59Speaker 1: were so connected and like so just like ravenous with
- 15:06Speaker 1: each other, and like I don't know, it was just
- 15:08Speaker 1: like very there was just something very different about it
- 15:11Speaker 1: that I feel like was really special. And your engagement.
- 15:15Speaker 2: Whoa that means so much?
- 15:18Speaker 1: Which one, well, I think the one in July okay, yeah,
- 15:22Speaker 1: because also like I found out on my honeymoon, so
- 15:25Speaker 1: I made that even like more special. Yeah, And it
- 15:30Speaker 1: was like very like serendipitous that like my honeymoon is
- 15:33Speaker 1: like the end of my like bridal era, and like
- 15:35Speaker 1: you were just starting yours, and like, I know how
- 15:38Speaker 1: exciting and like how special.
- 15:40Speaker 2: That day is.
- 15:41Speaker 1: So it was like my journey's ending in yours. Oh
- 15:44Speaker 1: my god, not expect Friday.
- 15:49Speaker 2: That's so special. Because I was gonna say, I would
- 15:52Speaker 2: say probably my proposal from Haley and to Haley would
- 15:57Speaker 2: be if I can, if I have to separate them,
- 15:59Speaker 2: add two of those. But I was gonna say, you're
- 16:02Speaker 2: wedding too, because I felt like it was such a
- 16:04Speaker 2: special weekend. And I also lump at your bachelorette party
- 16:07Speaker 2: into like that too, because it was such a fun
- 16:09Speaker 2: trip and like it was so fun getting to celebrate
- 16:12Speaker 2: you in something that like you had wanted for so long,
- 16:15Speaker 2: and like especially talking about on the podcast, because it's
- 16:18Speaker 2: been that's been such a journey as like your love
- 16:20Speaker 2: life and your love story, and it really felt like
- 16:23Speaker 2: it came to this like beautiful completion in the sense
- 16:28Speaker 2: of like you found your person and like now it's
- 16:31Speaker 2: the next phase of life, you know. Yeah, And it
- 16:34Speaker 2: was just such a fun weekend. Even though I like
- 16:36Speaker 2: nearly killed myself via alcohol, it was amazingly.
- 16:40Speaker 1: Was like, oh my god, everybody just like it was
- 16:42Speaker 1: like one big happy family. It wasn't his friends, Robbie's friends,
- 16:46Speaker 1: it was just like everybody.
- 16:47Speaker 2: It was so fun and I would and then yeah,
- 16:53Speaker 2: I feel like my proposal it was so unexpected and
- 16:57Speaker 2: I was so shocked and had no idea and it
- 16:59Speaker 2: was so fun feeling so loved and celebrated, and then
- 17:02Speaker 2: obviously getting to plan the proposal for Haley was like
- 17:06Speaker 2: such a fun journey. And my honorable mentions will be
- 17:13Speaker 2: Ali having a baby and Jojo finding out who's having
- 17:17Speaker 2: a baby, and I just felt like it was a
- 17:21Speaker 2: really it was a year of like so many like
- 17:23Speaker 2: beautiful life moments and I will always remember this year
- 17:28Speaker 2: as that.
