- 0:02Speaker 1: At TA breaks news.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Sometimes we got people.
- 0:07Speaker 1: We got people. Some people don't acknowledge that I have
- 0:12Speaker 1: t breaks news, but we do break news. Did you
- 0:16Speaker 1: see this prospect call up for the Red Sox? Another
- 0:21Speaker 1: one Peyton Totley was a week ago?
- 0:24Speaker 2: Yeah, a little more than that week and a half.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Connelly Early is starting tonight against the A's Dustin May
- 0:33Speaker 1: is expected to go on the injured list. Q the
- 0:36Speaker 1: early jokes that were in the replies very nicely done
- 0:40Speaker 1: by FT fans and for them, they're looking to fill
- 0:44Speaker 1: the back end of the rotation, throwing things at it now.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Because they have so many guys banged up.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Yeah, well with the rotation, I feel like they were
- 0:55Speaker 1: one of the two teams that didn't go for somebody. Well,
- 0:58Speaker 1: they went and got Justin May that hasn't worked.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Out five.
- 1:04Speaker 1: They did. I guess he's hurt.
- 1:10Speaker 2: He wasn't doing it really when he was with the
- 1:11Speaker 2: Dodgers either. So I mean, if you're going for it
- 1:15Speaker 2: like filling the back end of the rotation, okay, I
- 1:20Speaker 2: think they're starting rotations on thin ice. But the guys
- 1:23Speaker 2: that are performing are performing really well. I mean, everybody
- 1:27Speaker 2: wants more depth, so I guess you can't really follow
- 1:29Speaker 2: him for having depth, for not having it that much depth.
- 1:33Speaker 2: But this bullpen, they've been picking him up for a minute.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Now they've they are kicking it out there.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Mm hmmm, we'll see what he looks like. Hey, maybe
- 1:44Speaker 1: his catcher will be Carlos Narvaiaez, who hit a home
- 1:46Speaker 1: run yesterday after appearing on ft F Team Manute Team Magic.
- 1:52Speaker 1: He was good and so it's Crochet by the way.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Crochet shots back Yeah, seven shoutout Innux three hits, ten
- 1:58Speaker 1: strikeouts in sac Cremento after a rare bad outing for him,
- 2:03Speaker 1: so So moves to the Red Sox. But props to
- 2:07Speaker 1: FT admin breaking the news. Does it bother you when
- 2:14Speaker 1: other places don't say, hey, credit to FT.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Only because it bothers you, that's the only reason. Like,
- 2:25Speaker 2: I'll take your que on this, Scott. I just don't know.
- 2:27Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't know what the etiquette is.
- 2:32Speaker 2: It just seems like a lot more to put in,
- 2:33Speaker 2: like your tweet credit. But I get it because you
- 2:37Speaker 2: guys have explained it to me. I understand.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Actually, another one that bothers me the most is when
- 2:42Speaker 1: a place doesn't want to give you credit, so they
- 2:44Speaker 1: give credit to someone else. MLB did that this morning
- 2:48Speaker 1: when we posted MLB pipeline posted, they gave credit to
- 2:52Speaker 1: someone else. I think it was Ian Brown. They're like,
- 2:55Speaker 1: confirm Ian Brown's report or something like that. Nothing against
- 2:59Speaker 1: the end. It just he is reporting from what we
- 3:01Speaker 1: were reporting, and they were like, who ignoring that?
- 3:06Speaker 2: I mean, I don't know. It's not that hard to
- 3:10Speaker 2: do it, but it seems like the right thing to do,
- 3:11Speaker 2: but certain places don't want to do it. So what
- 3:13Speaker 2: are you gonna do?
- 3:18Speaker 1: You didn't give me that kind of homework right at
- 3:21Speaker 1: the top.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, I'm not sure. I like, if you
- 3:26Speaker 2: tell me not to get mad about it, I won't
- 3:27Speaker 2: get mad about it. If you tell me to get heated,
- 3:30Speaker 2: I'm gonna stick up for my guys at FT are
- 3:33Speaker 2: inside sources.
- 3:40Speaker 1: Nope, he didn't know, So there you go, MLB stealing news.
- 3:50Speaker 1: Stay hot?
- 3:51Speaker 2: Is he at MLB dot com writer?
- 3:53Speaker 1: He is? We'll bring him on, We'll ask him about it. Yeah, okay,
- 4:01Speaker 1: I'll ask him. I'll send him a text.
- 4:04Speaker 2: Come on, he.
- 4:06Speaker 1: Won't be allowed. You're right, let's charge the National League
- 4:19Speaker 1: East is over and Aaron Nola's back. Question Mark AJ answered, I.
- 4:28Speaker 2: Said it was over a long time ago. I don't
- 4:30Speaker 2: I never thought it was going to be close. The
- 4:32Speaker 2: Phillies are a better team than the Mets, and Aaron Nola,
- 4:37Speaker 2: the dad would be in the rotation and the way
- 4:39Speaker 2: he pitched last night. If he keeps doing that, he
- 4:41Speaker 2: will be I don't know. I mean, Sanchez Nola Suarez
- 4:49Speaker 2: one two three is pretty good without I know it's
- 4:50Speaker 2: not Zach Wheeler, but it's still pretty good.
- 4:53Speaker 1: Do you think he's back from what you saw last night,
- 4:55Speaker 1: Cratz or you need more?
- 4:57Speaker 2: I need more. I need more. There's some there's some
- 5:00Speaker 2: balls on the edges that he was getting.
- 5:02Speaker 1: Which is good.
- 5:03Speaker 2: I'm saying you can't get those in the playoffs. It's
- 5:06Speaker 2: just I need to see. I need to see three
- 5:09Speaker 2: quality in a row from him. And if you go
- 5:11Speaker 2: back to the first inning of his last start till
- 5:14Speaker 2: the sixth inning of this start, Yeah, he strung together
- 5:18Speaker 2: a lot of good innings, but he still had that
- 5:20Speaker 2: one blow up inning last start, and I just I
- 5:22Speaker 2: don't see. I'm not a v low, but I saw
- 5:26Speaker 2: a lot of good differentiation. Like his sinker was running
- 5:31Speaker 2: a ton and then his sweeper slider thing was running
- 5:36Speaker 2: a ton. And he was able to land his curveball
- 5:38Speaker 2: for a strike. So yes, I mean, I think there's
- 5:40Speaker 2: a lot of good signs. Am I convinced yet No,
- 5:44Speaker 2: And I think people, I think people watching the game
- 5:46Speaker 2: would agree.
- 5:49Speaker 1: I think it's a good sign on the Mets side
- 5:50Speaker 1: when Nolan McLain didn't have his best stuff command and
- 5:54Speaker 1: control wise, and he still only gave up one run.
- 5:58Speaker 1: I know it was a depleted lineup, which we should
- 6:01Speaker 1: get into as well. Five and a third, seven hits,
- 6:03Speaker 1: winn and run, three walks, five strikeouts, ninety one pitches.
- 6:06Speaker 1: There was a decent amount of hard hit contact, but
- 6:09Speaker 1: no Trey Turner, No Alec Boom. Boom's got a shoulder issue.
- 6:14Speaker 1: They're hoping ten days. Trey Turner hamstring string grade one
- 6:19Speaker 1: expected back for the playoffs, if not a bit sooner.
- 6:25Speaker 2: They were going to win the division. This is what happens.
- 6:27Speaker 2: When you win the division by a bunch of games.
- 6:29Speaker 2: You can cruise into the postseason. They get ready for
- 6:31Speaker 2: the postseason. This is this is the value everyone that
- 6:34Speaker 2: knocks the buy. You get a lead like this, this
- 6:38Speaker 2: is the reason why you want the buy and why
- 6:39Speaker 2: you want that positioning, because you can take it easy
- 6:42Speaker 2: for the last couple of weeks, especially with guys that
- 6:44Speaker 2: are hurt. Have some veteran guys, you can get them
- 6:47Speaker 2: right and be ready for when you get into the
- 6:50Speaker 2: postseason against whoever they match up with.

- 7:25Speaker 2: That was dinner for four. We survived off Omaha Steaks.

- 7:51Speaker 1: See site for details. Dig in that looks like a
- 7:54Speaker 1: good tweet, krat So he had a Grade two last year,
- 7:59Speaker 1: but when he had a Grade one hamstring strain in
- 8:02Speaker 1: twenty seventeen, that was a long time ago. Can we
- 8:05Speaker 1: show the Scott lobbery sweet one more time? I am
- 8:07Speaker 1: memorize it?
- 8:10Speaker 2: Seven?
- 8:12Speaker 1: Yeah, twenty one for fifty seven in thirteen games when
- 8:15Speaker 1: he returned after missing just eleven, although he didn't attempt
- 8:18Speaker 1: to steal a base until his ninth game back. But
- 8:21Speaker 1: I mean eleven games two weeks cool, He'll be right
- 8:26Speaker 1: if he's back in two weeks. He's got a week
- 8:28Speaker 1: to go in the regular season to play game.
- 8:30Speaker 2: You want him to play before the before the postseason,
- 8:33Speaker 2: right and the Triple A season ends. I mean, I'm
- 8:36Speaker 2: just saying he's going to rehab. What I'm saying, do
- 8:39Speaker 2: you want him to get more at bats? But you
- 8:41Speaker 2: don't want him to push his legs. Only they know this.
- 8:45Speaker 2: This is worst case scenario, but it could it could
- 8:49Speaker 2: turn out to be nothing other than you're not going
- 8:52Speaker 2: to see him running in the playoffs. You're not gonna
- 8:54Speaker 2: see him be able to beat out in field hits.
- 8:56Speaker 2: I mean, that's how he's gotten some of his hits
- 8:58Speaker 2: this year. But he's a he's an integral pedis to
- 9:02Speaker 2: that lineup. And another piece that was out last night
- 9:04Speaker 2: was Marsh. They gave Costianos in that bat and Costianos
- 9:08Speaker 2: has kind of been on the outs there. They gave him,
- 9:11Speaker 2: they gave him the start, and he got the one RBI.
- 9:14Speaker 2: Looking forward for Phillies fans, Costianos was the only other
- 9:19Speaker 2: guy last year in the playoffs that hit besides Harper.
- 9:22Speaker 2: So as of right now, it looks like he doesn't
- 9:25Speaker 2: start a playoff game or he doesn't start the first
- 9:28Speaker 2: playoff game right now. As far as who's hot, and
- 9:30Speaker 2: I get it, it can things can change in two
- 9:32Speaker 2: and a half weeks. But it's Marsh, Bader and Kepler
- 9:38Speaker 2: are the three outfielders and Costianos is on the outside
- 9:42Speaker 2: looking in. They face a lefty. He'll probably get in there,
- 9:44Speaker 2: but that's a that's a tough role, especially when you
- 9:47Speaker 2: only had two guys hit last year and one of
- 9:49Speaker 2: them may be out of the lineup in the playoffs.
- 9:51Speaker 1: M By the way, at the end of this game,
- 9:57Speaker 1: Duran comes in and last time he faced the Mets
- 10:01Speaker 1: was in Queens. He gave up the four straight hits
- 10:04Speaker 1: and they walked him off. Did you see the last
- 10:07Speaker 1: at bat against Francisco Alvarez. He got him on three
- 10:11Speaker 1: pitches the curveball. I was like, way off the plate
- 10:15Speaker 1: for all three when I'm looking at something like that,
- 10:19Speaker 1: is he not seeing the ball?
- 10:20Speaker 2: Well?
- 10:21Speaker 1: So he just keeps going there for three consecutive pitches
- 10:23Speaker 1: because they weren't close. I mean usually a guy takes that,
- 10:26Speaker 1: you're like, oh, these are non competitive pitches. Oh, we
- 10:29Speaker 1: have them all right. That one's not bad. The next two,
- 10:32Speaker 1: let's see, is that a competitive pitch?
- 10:36Speaker 2: He swung at it. Yeah, keep throwing it. I think
- 10:40Speaker 2: he was going to get six straight curveballs. He was
- 10:43Speaker 2: clearly sitting on the fastball. Well, I mean, he's not
- 10:46Speaker 2: seeing the breaking ball in that moment. But you got
- 10:48Speaker 2: to gear up for one hundred and two, and he
- 10:52Speaker 2: was completely sold out. Pitch one, two and three, but
- 10:56Speaker 2: the Mets going to tie the game had Ronnie Mauricio
- 10:59Speaker 2: who came in and pinch ran for Pete Alonzo not
- 11:03Speaker 2: just had abysmo base running. He thought Costianos was going
- 11:06Speaker 2: to catch a ball that he was twenty feet from
- 11:09Speaker 2: and he only made it the third.
- 11:14Speaker 1: One more note on the way out. Tyler or McGill
- 11:18Speaker 1: is likely done for the rest of the season. He
- 11:20Speaker 1: got shut down again for the Mets, so no Tyler
- 11:23Speaker 1: Griffin Canning was done earlier this year. Frankie montas out
- 11:29Speaker 1: time for the kids.
- 11:30Speaker 2: Frankie want I's imagine that he's having another He's gonna
- 11:33Speaker 2: miss another.
- 11:33Speaker 1: Year surgery today, so that contrame.
- 11:37Speaker 2: I'll signed him for two year, thirty five million. And
- 11:39Speaker 2: he hasn't picked. I mean, it's humble that it's he's
- 11:41Speaker 2: he's god, he's got a good agent.
- 11:44Speaker 1: He's getting thirty four million dollars this year. In last year,
- 11:46Speaker 1: and if he didn't pitch at all, the Mets would
- 11:47Speaker 1: have been better off. Here's a negative player this year
- 11:52Speaker 1: for his whatever eleven appearances or something, maybe less.
- 11:57Speaker 2: There's a history of being injured.
- 11:59Speaker 1: He doesn't. Indeed, he will miss all of next year
- 12:02Speaker 1: as well, so very young for the Mets.
- 12:05Speaker 2: That was positive for the Mets. Hell's they had a
- 12:07Speaker 2: good outing.
- 12:09Speaker 1: Oh that's a good point. There's a glass just.
- 12:12Speaker 2: Those all sliders. I mean, I thought he threw one
- 12:14Speaker 2: hundred and three, but apparently he just wants to throw
- 12:16Speaker 2: all sliders. I don't know what happened to was fastball.
- 12:18Speaker 1: They are hitting his fastball because.
- 12:20Speaker 2: He never throws it. When he throws it, I mean,
- 12:22Speaker 2: he throws in predictable. It's like he just he's scared
- 12:25Speaker 2: to throw it. Tell me, you gotta you gotta adjust.
- 12:31Speaker 2: You got to adjust to not just the organization and
- 12:34Speaker 2: how they think you should throw, but also about like
- 12:37Speaker 2: how you had success. So I'd love to look up
- 12:40Speaker 2: what his percentage is and how much it's changed, because
- 12:43Speaker 2: I don't buy the whole. Oh, he might be tipping now,
- 12:46Speaker 2: like so he just picked up a tip like when
- 12:48Speaker 2: he got traded over there, like here, do this tip
- 12:52Speaker 2: like this. It's not been going well. The last night
- 12:55Speaker 2: was he was nails.
- 12:57Speaker 1: Mm hmm. Giants are three games back, by the way,
- 12:59Speaker 1: all that they'll take on the Dodgers after they finish
- 13:02Speaker 1: up this series with the Diamondbacks, the Phillies and the
- 13:05Speaker 1: Mets continue this week, we'll hear what the Philly Show
- 13:07Speaker 1: has to say. You can give it a little subscribe
- 13:10Speaker 1: on YouTube or check it out wherever you get your podcasts.
- 13:13Speaker 1: And of course they're going to go over the bounce
- 13:15Speaker 1: back start for Aaron Nola. The Rangers believe a Dooles,
- 13:18Speaker 1: Garcia and Corey Seger have a chance to play next week.
- 13:20Speaker 1: This according to Jeff Wilson, The Dolees possible at Houston,
- 13:25Speaker 1: he said, and Seeger on the next Slash final home stand.
- 13:28Speaker 1: That would help. They're still any.
- 13:30Speaker 2: Nice, they're playing better without them.
- 13:32Speaker 1: All that is true is that weird. The little Rascals.
- 13:42Speaker 2: Don't necessarily think it's sustainable. But I mean, you'd definitely
- 13:46Speaker 2: rather have Cory Seeger in there and a Dolics Garcia
- 13:49Speaker 2: from twenty twenty three. But you gotta win games when
- 13:54Speaker 2: they're out, and they've been doing that. But if they're available,
- 13:58Speaker 2: if they come back and they have three games left
- 13:59Speaker 2: in this season and they're available, sorry, little rascals, they
- 14:05Speaker 2: can go back to their he Man Woman haters club
- 14:07Speaker 2: and sit on the bench.
- 14:10Speaker 1: I see in the lost column. That's where I'm looking right.
- 14:14Speaker 1: The Guardians and the Rangers too, off to off Seattle
- 14:20Speaker 1: striking distance.
- 14:23Speaker 2: Yeah, the Cleveland Kansas City Series is going to get
- 14:26Speaker 2: rid of one of them this week, next two days. Right,
- 14:29Speaker 2: they're there. Cleveland's got Cleveland's gotta win a couple of games.
- 14:32Speaker 2: But Cleveland played well last night. They looked good last night.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Yeah. Oh, they beat them up last night. Casey's kind
- 14:43Speaker 1: of falling apart now, Slay Jacconi was money brought a
- 14:48Speaker 1: no hitter into the eighth better than box scores is
- 15:00Speaker 1: hired by MLB Perfect Inning twenty five. It happened again,
- 15:05Speaker 1: Dodgers no no broken up late Tyler glassanaw carried it
- 15:09Speaker 1: through seven innings. See what we did there doing a
- 15:12Speaker 1: perfect inning segment when we're talking about the no no opportunity.
- 15:15Speaker 1: Another one blown for the Dodgers in the last few days.
- 15:18Speaker 1: They did win the game, so that's most important for them.
- 15:21Speaker 1: But we actually haven't seen any no hitters this year,
- 15:24Speaker 1: which is very rare. With three four homer games this year,
- 15:28Speaker 1: which actually more rare than no hitters, and we have
- 15:33Speaker 1: seen zero no hitters. Sarah Lang said they're the first
- 15:36Speaker 1: team on record to lose a no hit bit in
- 15:38Speaker 1: the ninth twice in a three game span twice. Tanner
- 15:44Speaker 1: Scott was hearing it from them yesterday because he's just
- 15:46Speaker 1: going through it right now, and he gives up the
- 15:48Speaker 1: leadoff double to Ritter. Kind of crazy.
- 15:55Speaker 2: Yeah, they won. At one point they were losing one
- 15:57Speaker 2: to nothing without giving up a hit though, so at
- 15:58Speaker 2: least they won. Last game they did this, they lost,
- 16:01Speaker 2: so they won. They're still in first place, first place
- 16:04Speaker 2: by a game. Glasstow pitched, Well, it's nice to see
- 16:07Speaker 2: him back out there trying to look good.
- 16:10Speaker 1: Listen.
- 16:11Speaker 2: They got to figure out Tanner Scott or else sick enough,
- 16:13Speaker 2: but trying him back in the ninth inning. But other
- 16:15Speaker 2: than that, I mean, yeah, it was a good, good outing.
- 16:18Speaker 2: And as far as no hitters go, they're just you
- 16:20Speaker 2: never know when they're gonna happen. You can't blame them,
- 16:21Speaker 2: so they're just luck. A lot of times. It's just
- 16:24Speaker 2: luck sucks for Ben Roved. Ben Roved was with this
- 16:30Speaker 2: team for a minute, the catcher for the Dodgers who
- 16:33Speaker 2: got picked up at the trade deadlines, kind of like
- 16:35Speaker 2: a no nothing pick up came up when Will Smith
- 16:40Speaker 2: originally got hurt and then Dalton Rushing squared himself up
- 16:45Speaker 2: on a foul ball and he was thrust right into
- 16:48Speaker 2: the game, like and in three days he's been behind
- 16:53Speaker 2: a dish and he's called eight innings of no hit
- 16:57Speaker 2: baseball and he didn't he didn't get it through the
- 16:59Speaker 2: fin I don't know. That's for me. That's tough. AJ's
- 17:04Speaker 2: got no hitters, perfect games like I don't have. I
- 17:08Speaker 2: never caught one. And I think that's that's something to
- 17:10Speaker 2: put on your mantle as a catcher. And wardved Man,
- 17:14Speaker 2: I get it. He's not gonna take he's not gonna
- 17:16Speaker 2: take Will Smith's spot, but to come in and call
- 17:19Speaker 2: a game that is ridiculously huge for a team, especially
- 17:23Speaker 2: when you've been there up in the big leagues with
- 17:25Speaker 2: them for like a week.
- 17:28Speaker 1: FT family, let's talk about fair harbor. And if you're listening,
- 17:31Speaker 1: I hope that you watch this conversation at some point
- 17:34Speaker 1: because we're doing show and telcrats shorts they can be
- 17:39Speaker 1: used as a bathing suit, and the liner, which we
- 17:43Speaker 1: call butter, is the game breaker. It's the playmaker because
- 17:48Speaker 1: it's different.
- 17:50Speaker 2: You've worn shorts that are not like this, and the
- 17:53Speaker 2: liner sucks. They are buttery on your butt.
- 17:57Speaker 1: I just came up with something for them. Your line sucks.
- 18:01Speaker 1: Get Fair Harbor Liner. Seriously, give it a shot. I'm
- 18:06Speaker 1: not just saying this. The butter analogy plays an ftfam.
- 18:11Speaker 1: You know we're hooking you up Fairharbor Clothing dot Com

- 18:34Speaker 2: Hitter, it's been a while in ninety two.
- 18:38Speaker 1: Thousand's, but it's been twenty years two thousand and five
- 18:43Speaker 1: at this rate.
- 18:44Speaker 2: Last year is only.
- 18:45Speaker 1: Left was that the last year before the testing?
- 18:51Speaker 2: Oh six is when it like, yeah, I got cracked down.
- 18:57Speaker 2: Oh five, oh four. They did the fake testing and
- 18:59Speaker 2: then when they implemented the real testing.
- 19:06Speaker 1: Yeah. Do you know who returned yesterday in the lineup
- 19:10Speaker 1: for the Dodgers and they happen to win a game?
- 19:12Speaker 1: Max Mounts. He's back, baby. They were eleven and twelve
- 19:15Speaker 1: without him dealing with the oblique strain, and he returns
- 19:19Speaker 1: and they win. Dodgers fans have caught on to this.
- 19:22Speaker 2: Now when long ago were Dodger fan Tata Max. Yes,
- 19:25Speaker 2: now that you can't live it.
- 19:26Speaker 1: Out anytime he slumped, they're like oh, and now they're like, wait,
- 19:31Speaker 1: what's our record without him? Quality yet back quality, yet
- 19:35Speaker 1: back quality. At bat first came back over three a
- 19:37Speaker 1: walk lineups just different with Max. We saw it for
- 19:43Speaker 1: the Dodgers and more guys returning for them soon. Let's
- 19:48Speaker 1: get to their rival, Padres winning three in a row,
- 19:52Speaker 1: down by three yesterday, pull a walk off sack five
- 19:56Speaker 1: from Fernando Tatis Junior for three win. Jackson Merril had
- 20:00Speaker 1: a huge two out, two strike, two run triple off
- 20:03Speaker 1: front suitor and that was hanging in the air for
- 20:05Speaker 1: a while too for your boys, Suitor beecrats some.
- 20:11Speaker 2: Is that what you're saying.
- 20:13Speaker 1: I didn't look at catch probability or anything like that,
- 20:15Speaker 1: but some grab that they were close. I think it
- 20:18Speaker 1: was TJ. Friedel out there in center who was closest
- 20:20Speaker 1: to it, but they were close. Now Michael King returns
- 20:25Speaker 1: for them to pitch, and I want to take us
- 20:28Speaker 1: back to the first inning of this game. Lead off
- 20:30Speaker 1: home run TJ. Friedel. Here it is knuckle curve, darbish
- 20:37Speaker 1: middle middle hangar. He bangs it out. Now. After this
- 20:42Speaker 1: they had a long conversation. You see the pitch coom involved.
- 20:45Speaker 1: Post game, Darvish said he was looking to throw a
- 20:49Speaker 1: two seamer, but that call wasn't going through to for
- 20:52Speaker 1: mean on PitchCom. Evidently, Freddy Fermen, the catcher for yesterday's game,
- 20:57Speaker 1: called for a curve and not wanting to cross him,
- 21:00Speaker 1: Darvish through the curveball he heard in his PitchCom and
- 21:03Speaker 1: Friedol hit it for a home run. There was a
- 21:05Speaker 1: great comment replied to this, being like Framber wouldn't have
- 21:11Speaker 1: done it.
- 21:14Speaker 2: True, but anyway, it was a great at Bath by Freedom.
- 21:17Speaker 2: It wasn't like it was one pitch. I mean, it
- 21:18Speaker 2: was like the ten pitch of the Bath too. So
- 21:20Speaker 2: he had seen pretty much everything, so he hit it
- 21:23Speaker 2: right into that short porch. Pitchcomb is a thing now,
- 21:26Speaker 2: it's a real thing. Every game I call, there's at
- 21:28Speaker 2: least one pitch colm time out where someone can't hear.
- 21:30Speaker 2: They forget to charge the batteries or something. So it's
- 21:34Speaker 2: a thing. It's part of the game now. Nola didn't
- 21:36Speaker 2: use it last night. It was the craziest thing. I
- 21:39Speaker 2: turned the game on and I started watching Nola was
- 21:41Speaker 2: just using It was like I was thrust back into
- 21:45Speaker 2: the nineties. Real Muta was back there. I wonder why.
- 21:52Speaker 2: I really would love to know why. I don't know.
- 21:56Speaker 2: Nola's sick of it. Maybe he sweats too much, and
- 21:59Speaker 2: I don't know. But there's always how does a pitch
- 22:02Speaker 2: com not work?
- 22:03Speaker 1: Like?
- 22:03Speaker 2: How does it not work so often? It's crazy.
- 22:07Speaker 1: Michael Kay said the same thing the other day on
- 22:09Speaker 1: the Yankees broadcast. But I mean it costs Darvish a
- 22:12Speaker 1: home run. Like you said, it was good, ib they
- 22:15Speaker 1: won the game. But if this comes up in the playoffs,
- 22:19Speaker 1: it's going to be then.
- 22:20Speaker 2: Darvish called time out. Why don't you have to throw
- 22:22Speaker 2: the pitch one? He just called time out? I mean,
- 22:24Speaker 2: it's it's one of the dumbest things I ever heard.
- 22:26Speaker 2: Why do I just call timeout and say I can't
- 22:28Speaker 2: hear it's not the it's not the pitch com Now,
- 22:31Speaker 2: if you want to say the timer caused the home run,
- 22:34Speaker 2: maybe like he was up against the timer. He didn't
- 22:37Speaker 2: want to step off or get a ball or whatever. Yeah,
- 22:41Speaker 2: I get it, Like, but to me, it's more up
- 22:44Speaker 2: against the timer, like you don't have if you're really
- 22:47Speaker 2: convicted on a pitch, especially early in the game. You
- 22:50Speaker 2: haven't found catcher and you haven't found the rhythm for
- 22:53Speaker 2: that game. What's working? You know what you want to throw.
- 22:56Speaker 2: You'd just be like you'd step off and then you
- 22:58Speaker 2: just go like this. But now with the pitch timer,
- 23:00Speaker 2: you can't do that.
- 23:03Speaker 1: You pitched or you caught darbish. You would have been like, dude,
- 23:05Speaker 1: call time out. We'll fix this right. Pretty easy. Okay,
- 23:09Speaker 1: good to know. But Dodgers win, Padres win. That division.

- 23:37Speaker 1: Carlos stanton the cover for it, and here's a little
- 23:41Speaker 1: look at the game. Wow, let's cover the rest of
- 23:57Speaker 1: the wildcard race in the American League. We touched on
- 23:59Speaker 1: the Guardian Mariners win. They need to win games, so
- 24:02Speaker 1: they won four two. They were trailing to nothing. Burliston
- 24:04Speaker 1: came back in a home run and then they had the
- 24:06Speaker 1: four run sixth inning. Brian Woo pitched, well, this is
- 24:10Speaker 1: why he trade for Josh Naylor. You need a two
- 24:12Speaker 1: run gapper. That was really the difference, and he of
- 24:15Speaker 1: course he stole third because Josh Naylor is the speed demon.
- 24:19Speaker 1: Like they I mean, do they not see him?
- 24:22Speaker 2: No, they just you forget about him, and he's getting
- 24:25Speaker 2: great Jones. Yeah, it's kind of he just knows what
- 24:27Speaker 2: he's doing. He's timing these guys perfectly in there. They
- 24:31Speaker 2: look at him and they're like, he's not going even
- 24:32Speaker 2: though they see the numbers, and then they just go,
- 24:35Speaker 2: Dave McKay, Dave McKay go, But go back and look
- 24:38Speaker 2: at Paul Goldschmidt's seasons. He used to have in Arizona
- 24:41Speaker 2: and he would just rave about Dave McKay, Rusty Coots
- 24:45Speaker 2: over and over in Kansas City. Those dudes get guys
- 24:50Speaker 2: bags if you want to take him. And Naylor clearly
- 24:53Speaker 2: learned it, and he's come over to a team that
- 24:55Speaker 2: doesn't run that much and he took third. Next pitch,
- 24:59Speaker 2: sack fly. That's that's winning baseball.
- 25:03Speaker 1: Yeah, that was the whole game that inning. You know,
- 25:07Speaker 1: it started with a Julio Rodriguez RBI single, started the
- 25:09Speaker 1: scoring Planco had that sack fly and Rangers close it
- 25:13Speaker 1: out before two. They're also two games back at Houston,
- 25:16Speaker 1: so they're still in that race as well, but they've
- 25:18Speaker 1: got to hold off you know, this charge from and
- 25:21Speaker 1: from the Guardians. Nine strikeouts for Wu by the way
- 25:24Speaker 1: over six innings. He's had a really nice year. I
- 25:27Speaker 1: was sifting through YouTube comments yesterday on some of our
- 25:29Speaker 1: videos and we posted about a roll this Chapman and
- 25:32Speaker 1: how Carlos Nerbias confirmed the story of him spotting his
- 25:36Speaker 1: fastball for the first time in his career at thirty
- 25:38Speaker 1: seven years old, and a comment from al if I'm
- 25:42Speaker 1: not mistaken, I don't think Chapman has ever had a
- 25:44Speaker 1: major arm injury. Think he had shoulder fatigue, but that's
- 25:47Speaker 1: about it. His mechanics are great and his power comes
- 25:49Speaker 1: from his legs and great extension. I mean, just to
- 25:52Speaker 1: be a pitcher and be healthy for that long in
- 25:54Speaker 1: your career as an anomaly. He also is somewhat of
- 25:57Speaker 1: a powerlifter, so that stands out too. I mean, he's
- 25:59Speaker 1: just a freak isn't he.
- 26:01Speaker 2: And he's been a reliever his whole career, so he's
- 26:04Speaker 2: I mean, they tried to start him for a second,
- 26:06Speaker 2: but he's been a reliever pretty much his whole career,
- 26:08Speaker 2: so he's never he's always been the closer, so he's
- 26:11Speaker 2: never had to get up multiple times. He's never had
- 26:13Speaker 2: to really pitch multiple innings. He's kind of been a
- 26:15Speaker 2: one inning guy. I mean, so yeah, I mean, he
- 26:18Speaker 2: keeps himself in great shape, and he's good for him, man,
- 26:21Speaker 2: good for him at this age to keep going people
- 26:23Speaker 2: say you can't. This is why I have a problem
- 26:24Speaker 2: with when Major League Baseball people say, oh, you're done
- 26:27Speaker 2: at twenty nine. Well no, there's people that can do
- 26:29Speaker 2: it till they're older. Just have to give him a chance.
- 26:31Speaker 2: But major League Baseball doesn't want to. Yeah, they don't
- 26:34Speaker 2: want to pay. They don't want to pay guys, because
- 26:36Speaker 2: the history says, if you guys, remember when Eeraldist Chapman
- 26:40Speaker 2: came up, Billy Hamilton was also coming up. I'm not
- 26:44Speaker 2: sure I think Chappie came up and then Billy Hamilton. Did.
- 26:49Speaker 2: They confirmed it that Eradis Chapman beat Billy Hamilton in
- 26:53Speaker 2: a race obviously there's no video of it, but might
- 26:56Speaker 2: be a Todd Fraser question. So you're talking about him,
- 26:59Speaker 2: dude to who is freakishly strong. He never really gets
- 27:04Speaker 2: put in awful situations, and he's a freak athlete, so
- 27:09Speaker 2: there's a reason, there's a reason he stayed healthy.
- 27:15Speaker 1: Very impressed. The people were obviously impressed with what Carlo
- 27:18Speaker 1: Stambias was telling. You know, not only about the fastball,
- 27:22Speaker 1: but the splitter story as well. So good stuff, good comments.
- 27:25Speaker 1: We're looking at him, even if you're looking at videos afterward.
- 27:27Speaker 1: Obviously we're looking at the chat too. For any questions,
- 27:30Speaker 1: I save this for you. So CBS does their Power
- 27:32Speaker 1: rankings every week and CBS writer Matt Snyder has the
- 27:35Speaker 1: White Sox ahead of the Twins, even though the Twins
- 27:37Speaker 1: have a decent lead on them in record. He said,
- 27:41Speaker 1: the White Sox have better run differential this from Monday
- 27:44Speaker 1: and just swept the Twins in four games. They've been
- 27:46Speaker 1: three and a half games better since May seventeenth, seven
- 27:49Speaker 1: games better than the second half, three games better since
- 27:51Speaker 1: the start of August. He said, seems pretty simple to
- 27:54Speaker 1: me which team is better at this point. We're just
- 27:56Speaker 1: continuing to give credit to the Twins for a winning
- 27:59Speaker 1: streak that happened so long long ago with different personnel.
- 28:02Speaker 2: The White Socks are a better team than the Twins
- 28:03Speaker 2: right now. Yeah, Twins, Twins stank. The White Sox aren't great,
- 28:06Speaker 2: but they at least have some hope. It looks like
- 28:08Speaker 2: what are the twinsest Iron Buxton and Royce Lewis. I mean,
- 28:12Speaker 2: White Sox have hope. Although you call some Montgomery and
- 28:15Speaker 2: some of the young guys to you and Kiro and
- 28:17Speaker 2: some of their young guys have looked good. So yeah,
- 28:19Speaker 2: the White Socks are a better team right now than
- 28:21Speaker 2: the Twins.
- 28:21Speaker 1: Yeah, they're starting to put some put some runs up.
- 28:24Speaker 1: I think they're top five in runs scored in the
- 28:26Speaker 1: second half of the year. There's been some high scoring
- 28:29Speaker 1: games for them, which makes sense. I mean it's already
- 28:32Speaker 1: what is this your two or year three of the rebuild?
- 28:37Speaker 1: Who knows, lost counts constant, But anyway, I just thought
- 28:42Speaker 1: that was a good point. Yeah, reboot, whatever you want
- 28:46Speaker 1: to call it.
- 28:46Speaker 2: But it's the PG seas post griffall season.
- 28:52Speaker 1: Mm everything is going to be looked at as pre

- 28:58Speaker 2: Okay, it's a good player, Well, look at who the
- 29:01Speaker 2: players they had last year on that team had some
- 29:04Speaker 2: good players that they lost.

- 30:04Speaker 1: This has been your tech update. Keep your data safe.
- 30:11Speaker 1: Injury suck. There's a story to this one though, it's
- 30:13Speaker 1: Sean Murphy part of the catching tandem for the Braves.
- 30:17Speaker 1: Drake Balbins had a really good year as a rookie
- 30:19Speaker 1: with this team, and now I'll get to finish the
- 30:21Speaker 1: season in that spot without Murphy because he's undergoing surgery.
- 30:24Speaker 1: He's expected to miss four ish months and be ready
- 30:27Speaker 1: for spring training. There was an MRI on Monday that
- 30:31Speaker 1: showed he had a laboral tear in his right hip,
- 30:34Speaker 1: and he said it had been a problem for him
- 30:37Speaker 1: for years. They just brought it to Atlanta's attention this year,
- 30:41Speaker 1: or he just brought it to Atlanta's attention this week,
- 30:44Speaker 1: I should say. And they think it's been a problem
- 30:47Speaker 1: for the past couple of seasons. He was really good
- 30:49Speaker 1: in twenty twenty three and then really up and down
- 30:51Speaker 1: in twenty four and twenty five. You played through a lot,
- 30:55Speaker 1: both of you did. But what's your take on Sean
- 30:58Speaker 1: Murphy not saying anything to the team at all.
- 31:03Speaker 2: It's weird and the team not knowing that he was injured.
- 31:05Speaker 2: He just played through this constantly is weird to me.
- 31:08Speaker 2: I know he had an oblique in some other stuff,
- 31:10Speaker 2: but it's weird that nobody knew about this. And then
- 31:14Speaker 2: all of a sudden this pops up. But I mean,
- 31:16Speaker 2: everyone's pain tolerance is different, and he is, Yeah, hopefully
- 31:20Speaker 2: this surgery fix them. They're gonna have an interesting dilemma
- 31:23Speaker 2: because they signed him to a long term deal and
- 31:24Speaker 2: then they have Drake Baldwin, who's one of the best
- 31:26Speaker 2: young catchers in baseball. See what happens.
- 31:28Speaker 1: He said Krats that the pain got to a point
- 31:32Speaker 1: where it's unbearable in the past week or so, and
- 31:36Speaker 1: he had only recently started seeking treatment. But my question
- 31:41Speaker 1: is what if they could have treated this differently a
- 31:45Speaker 1: while back, right, Like, what's the line of what you
- 31:48Speaker 1: tell the team? You guys tell me.
- 31:50Speaker 2: That's always the challenge. That's always the challenge guy like
- 31:54Speaker 2: Murphy who's on a contract, maybe it's taken, it's handled
- 31:58Speaker 2: a little bit differently than a guy who's not on
- 32:01Speaker 2: a contract. Like for me in my career, if something hurt,
- 32:05Speaker 2: it had to be really bad because you can't go
- 32:08Speaker 2: in there and tell them, one, I'm in Triple A
- 32:10Speaker 2: half the season. So if I'm in Triple A and
- 32:12Speaker 2: I'm like, hey, you know, this is really bugging me
- 32:14Speaker 2: or this is really like you have to kind of
- 32:17Speaker 2: learn to self diagnose and self treat yourself. For Murphy,
- 32:22Speaker 2: he could have gotten on a plan. Maybe I don't know.
- 32:24Speaker 2: I've never dealt with hip issues. It doesn't sound like
- 32:30Speaker 2: it doesn't sound like it's something that you really want
- 32:33Speaker 2: to deal with. But like AJ said, like AJ said earlier,
- 32:37Speaker 2: I think we're in an era now where it's like,
- 32:39Speaker 2: oh this hurts h tendail. I had a player text
- 32:43Speaker 2: me yesterday he wants to come back before the end
- 32:46Speaker 2: of the season, and the team's like, hey, just take
- 32:50Speaker 2: it easy, and he's like, like, this is my one
- 32:52Speaker 2: chance to play in the playoffs, and so like maybe
- 32:56Speaker 2: Murph doesn't want to be known as being solid. So
- 33:00Speaker 2: he never told anybody that it's a It's an admirable trait.
- 33:04Speaker 2: But if you go on the other end of it
- 33:06Speaker 2: and say, oh, he could have done something, I don't know.
- 33:09Speaker 2: I mean, you can't fix tears in your in your ligaments.
- 33:13Speaker 2: You can help mask the pain. But to me, I
- 33:18Speaker 2: think it maybe just a case of him being tough,
- 33:21Speaker 2: which I think at the catching position, when you play
- 33:23Speaker 2: every day, you have to.
- 33:25Speaker 1: Be So what's the balance of that, right, being tough
- 33:29Speaker 1: and not being labeled as a guy that's always in
- 33:32Speaker 1: the trainer's room, on the trainer's table, because that's definitely
- 33:35Speaker 1: a thing. You hear of that about certain guys all
- 33:36Speaker 1: the time, and like you guys mentioned, it's more of
- 33:38Speaker 1: a thing nowadays, but that versus your performance for your team.
- 33:43Speaker 1: Like on the team side, I feel like they're a
- 33:46Speaker 1: little bit pissed because they're like, well, if we knew
- 33:48Speaker 1: about this, we either could have addressed it, you know,
- 33:51Speaker 1: in an off season. If it's only four of you have.
- 33:54Speaker 2: This pain for two plus years and hasn't told anybody,
- 33:56Speaker 2: I feel I feel like that that's not right. I'm
- 33:58Speaker 2: gonna I'm gonna. I'm on a lean towards Murphy's probably
- 34:02Speaker 2: said something to somebody like I guarantee he came in
- 34:05Speaker 2: and said my hip is tight or my hip is
- 34:06Speaker 2: sore or so. I find it hard to believe that
- 34:09Speaker 2: it's gotten to this point. It didn't just happen overnight,
- 34:11Speaker 2: and you know, so I don't know, but again, everyone's different.
- 34:15Speaker 2: I have an example of that. Brandon Moss in twenty
- 34:18Speaker 2: fourteen made the All Star team. I think he had
- 34:21Speaker 2: like thirty some homers at the All Star break, and
- 34:26Speaker 2: that's off season before was he was squatting and he
- 34:30Speaker 2: was like, I got to my last rep and he's like,
- 34:33Speaker 2: I felt something like my lower back, like butt region.
- 34:36Speaker 2: He's like aw. He's like I didn't know what it was,
- 34:39Speaker 2: and it kind of lingered. It kind of lingered the
- 34:41Speaker 2: whole season. But he's like, I was hitting dingers. I
- 34:44Speaker 2: don't know how many hitting that first half. He was
- 34:46Speaker 2: hitting tons of dingers all Star Break. There only at
- 34:49Speaker 2: the All Star Game and he told Ali, his wife,
- 34:52Speaker 2: he said, Man, my hip has just been bugging me
- 34:56Speaker 2: all seasons. She's like, oh, why don't you go get
- 34:58Speaker 2: checked out. He ended up up hitting like three more
- 35:01Speaker 2: homers in the second half. Obviously, he hit the two
- 35:04Speaker 2: big dingers in the Wildcard game for the A's, but
- 35:07Speaker 2: he goes it was almost like psychologically, I told somebody,
- 35:11Speaker 2: and then that's all I could think of. I'm not
- 35:15Speaker 2: saying this is the case with Murph. I'm just saying
- 35:17Speaker 2: that it is. It's a real world example of somebody
- 35:21Speaker 2: that was playing through it and he just didn't tell anybody.
- 35:25Speaker 1: Yeah, I see it all. So pre All Star Break
- 35:27Speaker 1: he had twenty one home runs and a five thirty
- 35:30Speaker 1: slugging percentage, and then he went one hundred and twenty
- 35:33Speaker 1: five at bats without a home run from late July
- 35:36Speaker 1: to mid September, and you did have the offseason hip surgery.
- 35:41Speaker 1: There you go, it's funny.
- 35:44Speaker 2: It's a real world example. You try. The one thing
- 35:47Speaker 2: this show does is it gets the insight of players,
- 35:50Speaker 2: and it's like it's the real insight. It's the things
- 35:53Speaker 2: that go on in your mind, like, oh, well, you know,
- 35:56Speaker 2: maybe he's hitting two ten, he's like, I'm don't tell anybody.
- 35:59Speaker 2: It's look like I'm making an excuse. Maybe he's hitting
- 36:03Speaker 2: three hundred. He's like, I'm hot, I'm gonna stay out there.
- 36:07Speaker 2: Like those are the things that go on in your mind.
- 36:11Speaker 1: Yeah, I just feel like, you know, you've got to
- 36:13Speaker 1: trust most of the teams from a medical staff perspective,
- 36:17Speaker 1: and you don't have to get surgery. Right if they
- 36:19Speaker 1: say we think you should get surgery, you can either say,
- 36:22Speaker 1: well I'm good for now.
- 36:24Speaker 2: Then you make your own decision. I can tell you
- 36:26Speaker 2: to do something.
- 36:26Speaker 1: You can also push it off. Right even if you
- 36:28Speaker 1: had brought this up, you could say, okay, well I
- 36:31Speaker 1: want to play through it right now and then maybe
- 36:32Speaker 1: I'll have surgery in the off season. Yeah, this is
- 36:35Speaker 1: the time to do it. Of course the Braves are.
- 36:38Speaker 2: So that'd be interesting what they do with him in Baldwin.
- 36:42Speaker 1: What would you do?
- 36:45Speaker 2: I'd probably try and trade one. I'd probably try and
- 36:47Speaker 2: trade Murph if you can, and find someone else because
- 36:50Speaker 2: of the contract. Well, I don't know who's going to
- 36:52Speaker 2: take him, especially now that he's having surgery. I'm gonna
- 36:55Speaker 2: have to see him play now. Right now, you're kind
- 36:57Speaker 2: of stuck.
- 36:58Speaker 1: Yeah, you see what happens next year. And I would
- 37:00Speaker 1: keep the DH spot potentially open. I don't think Marcela
- 37:03Speaker 1: Zun is coming back, all right, So I want to
- 37:16Speaker 1: give love to the that watches this show online every
- 37:20Speaker 1: day and comments and ask questions in the YouTube chat.
- 37:23Speaker 1: So we only have two minutes here, but they're like, hey,
- 37:25Speaker 1: where you've been? We mentioned you earlier. They just wanted
- 37:28Speaker 1: to know about Jeff Kent, as most people thought he
- 37:31Speaker 1: should be in the Hall of Fame. In the chat,
- 37:32Speaker 1: but they were talking about media relations and how maybe
- 37:35Speaker 1: that could affect some players with Hall of Fame voting.
- 37:37Speaker 1: It was stemmed from our Bayron Buckston conversation, so thoughts.
- 37:41Speaker 2: He should be in and Barry Bonds is another one
- 37:43Speaker 2: that's not in because there's a lot of there's a
- 37:44Speaker 2: bunch of guys that didn't get in and didn't get
- 37:46Speaker 2: good votes because they weren't friendly to the media. So yeah,
- 37:50Speaker 2: but I mean, Jeff Kent should be in. Jeff Kent
- 37:52Speaker 2: should be in bonds.
- 37:54Speaker 1: But they're opposite, sure, but they're opposite in terms of
- 37:59Speaker 1: can being one of those guys that was like I
- 38:01Speaker 1: didn't take royd blah blah blah, and the others are
- 38:04Speaker 1: pd He should he should be related.
- 38:06Speaker 2: He should be in. Okay, Crat, he's the all time
- 38:09Speaker 2: leader in second base homes, he should be in.
- 38:11Speaker 1: Yeah, And Ken's very vocal like I didn't do any pds,
- 38:15Speaker 1: so why am I not in listening.
- 38:17Speaker 2: I've said it many times. If you get caught after
- 38:18Speaker 2: they started testing, different story. If you did We're huge
- 38:22Speaker 2: the things before, then you should be allowed in because
- 38:24Speaker 2: it wasn't against the rules of baseball. Because you can't
- 38:27Speaker 2: tell me there's not guys in that didn't do things.
- 38:29Speaker 2: Jeff Kent, even from back in the fifties and the
- 38:31Speaker 2: sixties and the tens, in the twenties or wherever you
- 38:33Speaker 2: hew far ever you want to go back, guys might
- 38:35Speaker 2: not have been steroids. But they were taking something that
- 38:37Speaker 2: I bet you they couldn't take.
- 38:38Speaker 1: Now, gratz. Jeff Kent was like a top five hitting
- 38:41Speaker 1: second basement of all time.
- 38:44Speaker 2: Did he did he do it long enough? That's my question.
- 38:49Speaker 1: For me.
- 38:49Speaker 2: Yes, man, that was some good years. Oh he was
- 38:54Speaker 2: killing the star.
