- 1:53[SPEAKER_01]: Jacob Rodriguez T-shirt, my dead cap, dead cap, which is kind of cool.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_01]: It sounds exactly how it sounds.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_01]: Very good.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so we're going to talk a little bit about the dolphins here in the first half of the show in the second half of the show.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to talk about that in BP MMA show and of course Brock Lesers back so that retirement lasted and not for nothing look.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_01]: I understand it's wrestling and it can get convoluted from time to time.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, I guess I'll ask you this off the bat and then we're going to revisit it in the second half of the show.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_01]: America, did you get Paul Hayman's explanation on Raw?
- 2:29[SPEAKER_01]: Why Brock Lesnar is back?
- 2:31[SPEAKER_01]: And then he called me like, no?
- 2:34[SPEAKER_00]: He didn't.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_00]: What was the explanation?
- 2:37[SPEAKER_00]: I miss the explanation.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_01]: Well, he said, Brock Lesnar is retired.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_01]: I promise you that.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_01]: He is retired.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_01]: But I have a contract here with his name on it.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_01]: to fight Obofemi at class in Italy.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_01]: Any call them Brock Legner?
- 2:57[SPEAKER_00]: Sure, okay.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_00]: Well, you know.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_00]: I kind of called it after WrestleMania when we saw Lesnar take off the boots or whatever he wears, little shoes, wrestling shoes, and put them in the middle of the ring along with the gloves.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_00]: I said, I'm not quite sure this is going to last.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_00]: I felt like Brock was angling for a big money payday, for a rematch with Oba, and here we are.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_00]: Here we are, not more than what.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_00]: retirement and to WWE's credit, they never did say that he was officially retired.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_00]: But you know, less than two months after he did all that at WrestleMania.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_00]: And here we are.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_00]: Lesnar's back attacking Obathemi.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not mad about it.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_00]: I really enjoyed their their first go around.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_00]: And I think there's more meat on the bone as far as that one's concerned.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_00]: But Brock's back and and he's going to be getting that big payday to go do some work in Italy.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_01]: And I think we'll we'll revisit this in the second half of the show.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_01]: But in the first half, we're going to talk a little, a little dolphin.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_01]: So what do you make of these OTAs?
- 4:08[SPEAKER_01]: That a lot of availability.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_01]: I kind of like the half Lee's podium game.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_01]: Carlos has a pick six.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_01]: You know, hey, it's encouraging.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_00]: Does it mean we're going to win a lot of games this year?
- 4:23[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_00]: No,
- 4:30[SPEAKER_01]: group.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_01]: I really like this young, this young roster.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_01]: I think I went a lot.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_01]: Like somebody was fine to say, and this is going to be the toughest, meanest, most pes-conditioned, roughest, tumblest, five and 12 team you've ever seen.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_00]: And you know what?
- 4:48[SPEAKER_00]: If we get to five wins,
- 4:50[SPEAKER_01]: with the schedule of wins right where right looking five five to look bad five to yeah like what was I saying on last week's show if they could be a six and eleven exciting when a six win exciting team like let's say they won six games and they're in three other games where it's close right man it's setting up for a pretty exciting twenty twenty seven right like it's not crazy well you don't want is and I understand
- 5:20[SPEAKER_01]: There's a downside, trust me when I tell you, because I know when people are thinking and they tell me this all the time.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_01]: There is no downside to having a disaster season.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_01]: Well, yes, there is.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_01]: If you go like 116 or something like that or 21 and 15, you have a disaster season, you go win listen to the division.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_01]: You have a disaster season.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_01]: You do have more problems than you started with because now you have a $25 million back up quarterback.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_01]: Because if you have a disaster season, it means that Malik Willis wasn't good.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_01]: Simple as that.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_01]: If your quarterback is good, then I understand, look, I'm heading off every single one of the arguments, right?
- 5:58[SPEAKER_01]: I heard, yeah, just shot Watson had a four-wind season and he had a great, great year.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_01]: Go look back at that season.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of garbage time in those games.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_01]: So he was padding those stats, heading into a contract here.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, it's possible that your quarterback has a great season.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_01]: But not really in the makeup of this team.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_01]: If Malik was has a great season, it's almost impossible that they have a disaster season.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, you're with me, right?
- 6:27[SPEAKER_01]: Like five, six wins.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_01]: Like five wins were right there, like, you know, because they beat the four and a half.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_01]: think it's six.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_00]: We're pretty damn jazz about it.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_00]: You feel good about the foundation of this team.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_00]: You feel good about the new regime.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_00]: You feel good about John Eric Sullivan.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_00]: You feel good about Jeff Hathley.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_00]: You feel great about Malik Willis.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_00]: If you can get this roster to six wins, especially with the schedule the way it looks right now.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_00]: And obviously,
- 6:53[SPEAKER_00]: That'll change as teams get injured and we find out that teams that were supposed to be good aren't as good and you know, but sometimes that works in reverse as well.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_00]: Some teams, you look at the jets and go, oh, that's a terrible team who knows.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe they turn things around this here.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_00]: I'm hoping that doesn't happen.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_00]: I will never root for the jets, but
- 7:17[SPEAKER_00]: If this team can get to six wins, then you're feeling really good about the foundation.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_00]: You're feeling really good about this draft class.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_00]: You've got solid pieces.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_00]: You're looking at it and you're going, oh, okay, a Kyle Lewis is a player.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_00]: You can count on moving forward.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_00]: You know, a Chris Bell or a Caleb Douglas.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_00]: Those are receivers that that that can play.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe they're not number one receivers.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe you still have more work to do in that room, but these are guys that can that can help flesh out a pass catching unit that can help a quarterback like Malik Willis.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_00]: And then yes, of course, if this team wins five or six games, you're looking at Malik Willis and you're going, hey, man.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_00]: you're kind of a miracle worker here, you know, to be able to do that with the kind of roster that the dolphins are fielding right now due to the inspiration for that dead cap, the dead cap that they're sitting with right now after parting ways with two a tongue out by low a tie rekill.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_00]: Bradley Chob and the likes, you know, so, you know, a two-in-season wouldn't be inspiring, certainly.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_00]: It wouldn't be the most shocking outcome, but a five or six-wind season, you're not sniffing the playoffs with that, but you're feeling okay about the foundation of this team moving forward.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_00]: You're looking at
- 8:34[SPEAKER_00]: an offseason where you'll have more draft picks, more infusion of young talent, and an offseason next offseason where you have a solid amount of cap space and you can go out there and you can make some moves and and see where John Eric Sullivan wants to to allocate those dollars, you know what position group and and
- 8:56[SPEAKER_00]: If Malik will approve to be the guy by winning 5 or 6 games, the dolphins are able to skip a couple steps in this rebuild and then you're looking at drafting the best non-corderback in the upcoming draft.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_00]: Then the upcoming draft, you know, by all accounts so far as of May 20th, 2026, it's supposed to be pretty good.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_00]: we know how that turns out sometimes, right?
- 9:20[SPEAKER_00]: Some of these players who were supposed to be great don't always turn out to be great.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_00]: But you got other guys there, you know, on the defensive side of the football, you have a Jeremiah Smith at wide receiver, obviously a very big need for the dolphins at this point in their roster construction.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_00]: So if Malik Willis can can get the team to five or six wins, you're still looking at a really high draft pick.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_00]: that doesn't need to be used on a quarterback in a heavy quarterback draft, meaning those first three, four picks are going to be quarterbacks.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_00]: So if you end up with picked five, six, seven, you're still going to get a marquee non-quarterback in the upcoming draft and you're going to be able to build on what was, you know, relatively speaking, a promising season if they get to those
- 10:05[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, completely, completely agree.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, right back to the, you know, the two and the one, you know, a disaster season.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_01]: If you have a disaster season, you have to pretty much examine, re-examine everything.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_01]: Because if you have a disaster season, it probably means that none of the, the second year defense attack was developed all that great.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it definitely means that Malik Willis wasn't all that good.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_01]: And if Malik Willis wasn't all that good, then you're not going to learn a lot about those past catches you added, right?
- 10:32[SPEAKER_00]: True, true.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_01]: And if those guys are not good, then stand a reason that Devon H has not going to have a very good season, which means we're not going to learn too much about Kate and Proctor as well.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, a disaster question, the coach and the GM that you just hired.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and at the very least, you start questioning the coach, because we've talked about this before on this show.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_01]: They usually don't come back from that.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's extremely rare that a head coach has a disaster season, and then he comes back, and he, you know, he has an illustrious career.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_01]: It's like Jimmy Johnson and nobody else.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_01]: But it's pretty much that's the list.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, I told you that I was gonna do some, some,
- 11:21[SPEAKER_01]: show and tell on the show.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_01]: I was given a gift today.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_01]: My wife talked to a coworker and the coworker knew that I collect these things or I'm in the market of collecting one and he gave it to her to give to me.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_01]: He found this in Sarasota diving in I think he said 30 feet of water or something like that.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, cool, a shark's tooth.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_01]: I see.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_00]: That's pretty sick.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_01]: That is, do you know what type of shark that is?
- 12:03[SPEAKER_00]: I live in Iowa.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_00]: We don't have any sharks in Iowa.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_01]: That is a McDonald's tooth.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_00]: Whoa, that's incredible.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, yeah, that's it.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_01]: Now, it belongs now, you see how the tooth is, it belongs like on this side of the mouth and the back.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_01]: And it belongs to about a 16 to 20 foot.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_01]: Juvenile, right?
- 12:29[SPEAKER_01]: So it's a young shark.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_01]: So these are much more common to find, right?
- 12:40[SPEAKER_00]: about at the very least five hundred thousand years old uh... that's awesome that's so that pretty cool or what yeah i mean gosh i see all the collectables behind yet that might be the coolest thing you own in terms of uh... things to collect that's great
- 12:58[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so that's pretty cool, right?
- 13:00[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_01]: Speaking of which, you know, who has, in my opinion, and by the way, there's two of them in the WWE universe.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm giving up to ghosts here.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_01]: But you know, who has one of the greatest collectibles of all time?
- 13:13[SPEAKER_01]: See, if you can name the very illustrious and famous wrestler.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_00]: God, he owns the collectible or he provided the collectible.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_01]: he owns the collectible and he's shown it many times on camera before and he refuses to talk too much about it because he paid a pretty penny meaning he paid he paid a little over seven figures for it.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I was going to say Zach.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_00]: Zach writer is a big collector of of wrestling merchant memorabilia, but I doubt he was spending that kind of
- 13:54[SPEAKER_00]: You know that.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_00]: Wait a second.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_00]: Is it, uh, well, I know I know Vince has the, uh, T-rex skull.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_00]: And so does rock have another one.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_01]: The Raka has another one.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_01]: Vince Vince is skull is a recreation and he doesn't like to talk about it too much because it's still at WWE headquarters.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't belong to him.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_01]: I think belongs to the company.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_01]: So so when I guess when they went public and they did their inventory of all the all the assets that that WWE owns, that's one of them because it's expensive.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_01]: As far as I understand, Vince's T-Rex skull is a recreation of a lot of different T-Rex fossils.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_01]: So it's still a really valuable, like it's probably worth a million dollars, okay?
- 14:43[SPEAKER_01]: Once you get down to it.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_01]: But rocks.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_01]: rumor is that he bought it at an auction.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_01]: And that's an actual complete T-Rex goal.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_01]: And he has it behind his bar right there, overlooking the bar.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_01]: So if you're sitting at his bar, having a taramana tequila, his tequila brand, which actually buy it all the time.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_01]: I buy a bottle from the right.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_00]: He sent a bottle to my gym and I might have had a few glasses myself.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_00]: It's
- 15:17[SPEAKER_01]: And he has it up.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_01]: So if you sit at his bar and have a glass of turmanate to kill you, you look up and you'll see that T-Rex looking right back down on you.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, that's sick.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_01]: And the rumor is that he paid in excess of a million dollars.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_01]: Most famously, yeah, most famously, the actor Nicholas Cage had bought a T-Rex skull for $4 million.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_01]: had it, how should I not want to get to repossess but it's it was seized by the government.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_01]: So it was seized by the government because it turns out that the providence of which he bought it from was incorrect, meaning it was stolen.
- 16:03[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, does he get his money back?
- 16:07[SPEAKER_01]: He had to sue the auction house, he bought it from.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if he got a back or not, but it was seized and it was submitted right back to a museum.
- 16:19[SPEAKER_01]: But supposedly the skull that he had bought was damn near 100% complete, which is almost impossible to find.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_01]: That's almost impossible to find.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_01]: But pretty cool, right?
- 16:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, super cool.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_01]: Now, you see this, like this will run you, like this, this will run you.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_01]: This was a really good condition.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_01]: So 100 bucks, 120 bucks, something like that, right?
- 16:46[SPEAKER_01]: If you get one from a full adult six inches, it'll run a thousand dollars, okay?
- 16:53[SPEAKER_01]: If you could get a T-Rex
- 17:00[SPEAKER_01]: it's a used car.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_01]: It's about 15 grand.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_01]: So, so I guess you could see how how the rocks paying over a million dollars for a T-Rex goal.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_01]: That's pretty cool, right?
- 17:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, no, that's really cool.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, there's only, I was going to say there's only a few things on the circle, but it's really just stuff like that, right?
- 17:19[SPEAKER_00]: It's just, it's just fossils of ancient creatures that are that old.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_00]: You're not going to find anything else like that.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, now on the way, we're going to go to break right now.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_01]: We come back when we talk about MVP, MMA, all that stuff.
- 17:32[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to revisit the Brock Lesnar coming back.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_01]: But going into break, you come from a business that is chock full of memorabilia.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yep.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_01]: I guess you don't even have to say that it's a wrestling item, but if there was a piece of memorabilia, like your dream piece of memorabilia, like mine, I just told you, it would be a T-Rex call.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_01]: Like if I was balling out of control, right?
- 17:59[SPEAKER_01]: Like if I was, you know, jet fly and, you know, kiss stealing, willing and dealing, I would own a T-Rex call.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_01]: I really would.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_01]: Like I'd be like, all right.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_01]: What does 5 million get me?
- 18:11[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_01]: Like that would be my dream collectible.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_01]: What will be yours?
- 18:16[SPEAKER_01]: And it doesn't have to be in the wrestling business.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_01]: Because obviously, if you put
- 18:23[SPEAKER_01]: What I would want is a Ric Flair rope.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_01]: Now, I saw that he was selling them and it kind of ruins the whole thing for me, you know?
- 18:32[SPEAKER_00]: So, what would it be for you?
- 18:34[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see, I'm kind of thinking of the memorabilia I have right now.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_00]: I actually have a game worn Jason Taylor glove from 2001.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_00]: It was the first Dolphins game I went to.
- 18:48[SPEAKER_00]: It was in St. Louis when the Rams were still in St. Louis.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_00]: And I was just a kid at that point in 14, 15 years old.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_00]: And as he was walking off the field, the dolphins got crushed in that game.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_00]: That was the Kurt Warner greatest show on turf rams.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_00]: He handed me and a kid, stranger, next to me, each glove that he wore in that game.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_00]: So that's one of my more prized possessions as far as memorabilia goes.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_00]: Gosh, I don't know.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_00]: In terms of wrestling, maybe like the original winged eagle championship belt from the 90s, you know, big shell Michaels fan here and when he won that championship at WrestleMania 12, boyhood dream comes true.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_00]: If I could own the original,
- 19:38[SPEAKER_00]: Winged Eagle Belt not a replica or anything like that.
- 19:41[SPEAKER_00]: That would be pretty cool for me.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_00]: Begin to music and things like that.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not quite sure maybe a guitar from a famous guitarist or I don't know.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_00]: That's a great question, but it might be sports-related.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_00]: It would probably be Dolphins related or maybe baseball because you can get further back in history with baseball, right?
- 20:07[SPEAKER_00]: I'd have to think about that maybe like a gangster, right?
- 20:12[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe like a John Dillinger gun or something like that.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_00]: Or maybe like Wild West, maybe Jesse James, maybe I can get a pistol from him.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_00]: That would be kind of fun.
- 20:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, oddly enough, those things don't suffer too much.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_01]: I asked how one's that, oh, what can do it then?
- 20:29[SPEAKER_01]: That one of Wyatt Earp's pistols and he's only known to have owned like three.
- 20:35[SPEAKER_01]: So this is like really, really rare to get one of them.
- 20:39[SPEAKER_01]: I saw it sold for a couple hundred thousand dollars.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_01]: And okay, that's still look you set it up like maybe I could buy it for like 500 bucks Like no, but if you're thinking about it like I think it about it I think it's all for 150,000 or something like that and if you're thinking about it like
- 20:56[SPEAKER_01]: That's not that much money when you think about that's, you know, Wyatt Earp's pistol.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_01]: Sure.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_01]: And it's probably the only one that may be exists on on the planet.
- 21:07[SPEAKER_01]: And if you went to go find a 44 piece maker, which is the same model that he shot.
- 21:13[SPEAKER_01]: And you thought we'll found one from that era.
- 21:16[SPEAKER_01]: It would cost you 30 grand.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_01]: And it didn't belong to anybody, but, you know,
- 21:21[SPEAKER_01]: It probably just existed who knows who knows who owned that thing, right?
- 21:25[SPEAKER_01]: So it's so that the markup is only one 20 and it belongs to somebody extremely famous, you know what I mean?
- 21:32[SPEAKER_01]: It seems low for I'll give you an example.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_01]: Like a 44 piece maker and perfect condition is like 30 grand White or piece makers like 150, right?
- 21:43[SPEAKER_01]: Jimmy Hendrix is a fender
- 21:46[SPEAKER_01]: sold, I saw it on a pond stars show sold for half a million dollars right 1968 fender goes for about three grand so look at the market three grand half a million true true but the other one's sturdy one fifty
- 22:04[SPEAKER_01]: you know, yeah.
- 22:07[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, not Jimmy Hendrix guitar would be pretty cool.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_01]: Like that would be pretty cool.
- 22:12[SPEAKER_00]: I was actually on a wrestling show on Sunday for GCW wrestling the the number one independent promotion in the country.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_00]: It was in Des Moines, Iowa at the Valaire Ballroom, and that was Jimmy Hendrix performed on the stage that I was on on Sunday, making my way down to the ring, so that was a fun little deal.
- 22:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I saw that show, I'm pretty sure you've seen that show on A&E where the WWE is still collecting all the stuff like that.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_01]: That's a really cool stuff.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_01]: They got to do this already, right?
- 22:48[SPEAKER_01]: They
- 22:51[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I know it's TKL, TKL owns WWE, like, come on, if there's ever been a company that's looking for every dollar anywhere, you know, any, any dollar that's not, you know, Eldown anywhere, it would be them, right?
- 23:04[SPEAKER_01]: Why aren't I, why haven't they opened a physical Hall of Fame yet?
- 23:08[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I would say they should, they should, right?
- 23:11[SPEAKER_01]: And all the cool shit, like the coolest thing I ever saw was they had under the giant's passport on there.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_01]: that it's cool.
- 23:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that is cool, right?
- 23:20[SPEAKER_01]: And I had, uh, that I think dusty roads, uh, booking diary, which is, yeah, that's really cool too.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_00]: That's really cool.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_01]: You know, you can see him like he's booking, you know, he's booking the territory of Florida when he was, when he had the territory.
- 23:38[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, that would be pretty damn cool.
- 23:40[SPEAKER_01]: You know, under the giant's passport is also really cool.
- 23:43[SPEAKER_01]: That is, yeah, because you've basically
- 23:48[SPEAKER_01]: All right, so anyway, we're going to go to break, but when we come back, we will talk MVP MMA and Brock Lesnar and not retired again.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_01]: Not retired, but first these words and we're back.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Brock Lesnar is not retired.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_01]: So, which kind of may note that he's either a really, really, really good actor.
- 24:13[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_01]: I guess I'll ask you, is he really a really, really, really good actor because that look real at Russell Mania.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_01]: He's crying.
- 24:23[SPEAKER_01]: He hugs Paul Hayman.
- 24:25[SPEAKER_01]: We know Paul Hayman's a great actor.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_01]: So yes, like if he told Paul Hayman, hey, get choked up, you'll do it, okay?
- 24:31[SPEAKER_01]: I've seen Paul Hayman like he looks out there like he's dying sometimes and you know it's for a fact like you know he's doing it.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_01]: But that look real, that didn't that look real to you and all of a sudden
- 24:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yep, it did look realistic, but I know.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_00]: I guess Brock Lesnar is a very good actor, okay?
- 24:52[SPEAKER_00]: People don't give Brock Lesnar the credit for being one of the best sellers in the professional wrestling business.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm not just talking about, like, how, how that move hurt.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just talking about selling the idea that all of this is legitimate.
- 25:07[SPEAKER_00]: This is real.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_00]: Even though the audience knows that it isn't.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_00]: When you watch Brock Lesnar wrestle, there's always a moment where you go, ooh.
- 25:15[SPEAKER_00]: I think he was mad at that guy.
- 25:17[SPEAKER_00]: I think he laid it in on that one.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_00]: I think he heard him for real.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_00]: And that's not always the case.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_00]: So yes, he is a good actor, but I also think, while he's a good actor, and he's a great wrestler, I think he's a better businessman.
- 25:30[SPEAKER_00]: And I think he knows how to maximize his paydays from WWE now from TKO.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_00]: I think he knows how to get the most for what they're asking him to do.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_00]: Probably went off script didn't tell anyone decided he was going to do the retirement thing Just so people like Triple H and Nick Khan before he abruptly left the company this week Could reach out to him and say hey, hey, why don't we do this a little bit better, right like why don't we why don't we make this a thing make this an angle?
- 26:08[SPEAKER_00]: You know what however it ends up being
- 26:10[SPEAKER_00]: What's it going to take to get you back in the ring?
- 26:13[SPEAKER_00]: And he said, Oh, well, you know what you've been paying me?
- 26:15[SPEAKER_00]: Why don't we double that?
- 26:17[SPEAKER_00]: And then I'll show up in Italy because Brock doesn't like leaving his ranch.
- 26:21[SPEAKER_00]: So to get him to fly all the way to Italy, you're going to have to pony up anyways.
- 26:25[SPEAKER_00]: So I imagine he's getting paid a pretty hefty amount to come out of what unquote retirement to do another match with the Oba family, but I mean, I enjoyed their first one.
- 26:36[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm looking forward to it.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and it reminded me of the only misstep I think that Brock, Brock knows how to couple, you know, like his match with with Kurt Angle should have been better, everybody talks about it all the time.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_01]: And of course, the fiasco with Goldberg, right?
- 26:55[SPEAKER_01]: So he's had a couple of missteps, but the biggest mistake of them all, do you remember when he was supposed to Russell came to Alaska's?
- 27:03[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, that whole thing.
- 27:06[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I never understood that.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_01]: Like that rumor, it only happened once.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_01]: Now he can't Russell came for last guys again, because came for last guys has a very rare injury.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_01]: You know, you understand what is injury is, right?
- 27:19[SPEAKER_00]: What's he dealing with?
- 27:20[SPEAKER_01]: He has some type of injury and it's to a spine where he loses muscle definition in his arms.
- 27:26[SPEAKER_00]: So, it's like an atrophy type situation.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's one of those things where, and oddly enough, people think that he got it wrestling, oh boy.
- 27:37[SPEAKER_01]: And not in the UFC.
- 27:39[SPEAKER_01]: But you remember the whole buildup to that?
- 27:41[SPEAKER_01]: That was when you remember, do you remember?
- 27:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_01]: Lesnar was picking on Rey Mysterio, remember?
- 27:48[SPEAKER_01]: And Rey Mysterio said, look, I'm not going to wrestle you in Saudi Arabia, but I know somebody who will.
- 27:53[SPEAKER_01]: And he brings out his buddy, Kim Velasquez.
- 27:56[SPEAKER_01]: And the look on Lesnar's face, my God,
- 27:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and that's what I'm talking about in regards to the selling, right?
- 28:02[SPEAKER_01]: Like that must it that's like if if you walk into your backyard and all of a sudden staring in you in the face was a bengal tiger Very good and the thing is that a lot of wrestling fans didn't appreciate it at the moment I was popping a lower place.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_01]: I was like holy fucking shit like that is legitimately look
- 28:30[SPEAKER_01]: was came Velasquez.
- 28:32[SPEAKER_01]: And he started wrestling in Mexico, you know, I guess for fun, for money, right?
- 28:37[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you know, as you have seen days are done, so he started wrestling.
- 28:40[SPEAKER_01]: And he had more of a high flying style because it's a Mexico, you know what I mean?
- 28:44[SPEAKER_01]: And I remember their match.
- 28:45[SPEAKER_01]: Their match was fine.
- 28:47[SPEAKER_01]: They didn't have great chemistry.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_01]: But that thing went nowhere.
- 28:50[SPEAKER_01]: And then sure enough, like, very soon thereafter, he was diagnosed with his issue.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_01]: And he was never to wrestle again.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_01]: But like, that was an album, right?
- 29:01[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and I don't know, it's hard to predict those types of things, right?
- 29:06[SPEAKER_00]: And WWE does do a good job of getting people who are non wrestlers into the business and teaching them and coaching them the right way in the limited amount of time that they have with them and getting them ready for these opportunities, but it's not 100% guaranteed, you know what I mean?
- 29:26[SPEAKER_00]: Myself, I coach at Black and Brave Wrestling Academy, we're one of, I guess now, three WWE ID schools, but that doesn't mean every single graduate of our program is going to go on to be a top level WWE superstar, you know what I mean?
- 29:42[SPEAKER_00]: So you do the best you can with what you can, but if it doesn't work, it doesn't work, and that was one of those situations.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and it's just a shame, you know, because, uh, and I bring up came the last success.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_01]: He was on that broadcast of MVP MMA that they went to them to talk very briefly about the heavyweight division in Francis and Gano.
- 30:04[SPEAKER_01]: What did you make of that show and, and the, let's talk about the production first of all.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think the production was bad.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_01]: No, but did you find it a bit distracting how much selling aerial Hawaii was doing on that show?
- 30:20[SPEAKER_01]: And I like I like I look I'm a big combat sports fan and he has on wrestlers every once in a while to now he's had some lately He's had some train wreck interviews like he had an interview with with Rick Flair that just didn't go over good Okay, and I think he asked a question of I think Finn baller not too long ago that pissed off Finn baller
- 30:44[SPEAKER_01]: But everyone is known for that, right?
- 30:45[SPEAKER_01]: Like, he'll ask the question, you know, he'll ask the question that's gonna piss somebody off.
- 30:49[SPEAKER_01]: It's gonna make for good, you know, YouTube.
- 30:52[SPEAKER_01]: It's gonna make for good clips, viral clips.
- 30:55[SPEAKER_01]: But, did you find them as distracting as I found them?
- 30:59[SPEAKER_01]: Like, he became annoying at some point.
- 31:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you know, in the ring after the fight, you know, just kind of gabbing away there.
- 31:11[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I'm not super familiar with how Wani's work.
- 31:15[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't know how different that was compared to what he normally puts out there.
- 31:19[SPEAKER_00]: But I thought the whole thing and like you said, the production value was pretty good.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_00]: But I felt like the whole thing felt like a whole lot of sizzle and not a lot of steak.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 31:30[SPEAKER_00]: It was it was a fluff card.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_00]: And I've been honest on this show.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_00]: I don't watch a lot of MMA.
- 31:40[SPEAKER_00]: Most of your decisions are happening in the first round.
- 31:44[SPEAKER_00]: feels like maybe you didn't get the right matchups.
- 31:46[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I'm saying and that can make for exciting television, but when you take a step back and you look at it and you go, well, what are we doing here?
- 31:56[SPEAKER_00]: How are all these, how are all these fights ending in the first round?
- 31:59[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think we got the best matchups for this debut card, you know what I mean?
- 32:04[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't get a chance to look at the numbers.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_00]: Did it do well in terms of rating?
- 32:09[SPEAKER_00]: Is that been released yet to the public?
- 32:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, 17 million globally on Netflix.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_01]: That's a really good number.
- 32:17[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, it's a respectable number.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_01]: So it's a big war.
- 32:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, Netflix has 325 million subscribers.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_01]: Paramount only has 80, right?
- 32:26[SPEAKER_01]: So that it beats Paramount.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_01]: I've tried to explain this.
- 32:30[SPEAKER_01]: And of course, people just jumped on my neck because I say I dare to say something bad about MVP.
- 32:35[SPEAKER_01]: I never had no idea Jake Paul had this many fans.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 32:39[SPEAKER_01]: But you got to understand, 325 subscribers, 325 million subscribers is different than 80 million subscribers.
- 32:47[SPEAKER_01]: So that your 325 million subscriber base does better than my 80 million dollars subscriber base.
- 32:54[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, it's supposed to do that.
- 32:57[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, the other argument is, well, why didn't you have to see get with Netflix?
- 33:03[SPEAKER_01]: Well, they tried, but Netflix only wanted
- 33:08[SPEAKER_01]: They didn't want any of the other stuff.
- 33:10[SPEAKER_01]: That's like if they're negotiating with the WDB and they say, look, we only want Royal Rumble, elimination chamber, WrestleMania, Summerslime.
- 33:19[SPEAKER_01]: That's all we want.
- 33:19[SPEAKER_01]: We want those four events, and we want nothing else.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_01]: Like you're not gonna make a deal on that, you know?
- 33:26[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what they wanted.
- 33:27[SPEAKER_01]: They wanted only the 12 number events from the UFC each year.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_01]: And UFC wanted to sell more stuff.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_01]: Netflix didn't.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_01]: So it was highly, highly, it was very successful as far as viewership.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_01]: But the problem, I think, comes, they're all squash matches.
- 33:44[SPEAKER_01]: Like there were, yeah, there's five matches in the main card.
- 33:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, one really good prospect who, Seladin, who is absolutely ending up in the UFC soon.
- 33:54[SPEAKER_01]: Okay?
- 33:55[SPEAKER_01]: Like that's happening.
- 33:56[SPEAKER_01]: It's just happening.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_01]: Right?
- 33:58[SPEAKER_01]: And the rest of the fights were all basically squashes.
- 34:01[SPEAKER_01]: Like have you ever seen a wrestling show where you just put all squash matches?
- 34:06[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I don't think they would get booked.
- 34:08[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think your card like that would get booked.
- 34:10[SPEAKER_01]: And we have a luxury of picking and choosing how our cards turn out.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_01]: And we talked about it on this show.
- 34:17[SPEAKER_01]: Like we said, look, let's think about it in 30 seconds.
- 34:20[SPEAKER_01]: The main event.
- 34:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and you, you overestimated.
- 34:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 34:26[SPEAKER_01]: And that's pretty much what happened.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_01]: It's just a, and it's a, it's a terrible style, style clash.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 34:33[SPEAKER_01]: Like we said the only way that Gina Corona was going to be competitive.
- 34:37[SPEAKER_01]: is if Ron Rossie just got stupid all of a sudden and said, you know what, I'm going to try to box with her.
- 34:42[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 34:43[SPEAKER_01]: That's the only way.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_01]: But no, she didn't even like, she didn't give us shit.
- 34:48[SPEAKER_01]: Like, Ron, you're a bit selfish.
- 34:50[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_01]: I think I don't think there was any danger there.
- 34:54[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you know.
- 34:55[SPEAKER_00]: give us a little bit right we talked about that being a possibility right maybe she stands up in boxes for the first round you know drag it out a little bit let's get to the second round sell some more advertising and run to set
- 35:11[SPEAKER_00]: Fuck that.
- 35:12[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna end this woman and Gina looks so good.
- 35:16[SPEAKER_00]: She looked really good shout out to Gina look in real good But we're on to sit now.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_00]: I don't get paid by the hour I'm gonna end this thing quickly and that's exactly what she did Tapped her out to the arm bar in what 17 seconds it was yes, and the funny thing is that it's the third fastest finish in her for Wow, not easy as a 14 second finish and a 15 second finish
- 35:40[SPEAKER_00]: She is a bad, bad girl.
- 35:43[SPEAKER_00]: She really is.
- 35:44[SPEAKER_01]: Like, she's a, you know, a lot of people call her a one trick pony.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_01]: You have a water trick, man.
- 35:48[SPEAKER_00]: Just a trick.
- 35:50[SPEAKER_01]: It's the greatest trick in the history of MMA, like her arm bar and her transition to arm bar is just the best.
- 35:57[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, she just, and Tina just couldn't defend it.
- 36:00[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you could tell, Gina was like, caught in between like what's happening and should I throw a knee here and like, yeah, that's what you should've done is trying to get more, a little bit more space in between you.
- 36:10[SPEAKER_01]: and throw that knee in terms of just trying to time her perfectly, you know what I mean?
- 36:15[SPEAKER_00]: But you know what did they say that was 17 years between fights for Gina?
- 36:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, 17 years.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_00]: Come on now like I think anyone with half a brain could see that one coming what the result of that one was going to be.
- 36:33[SPEAKER_00]: shout out to Gina for even taking the fight shout out to Gina for getting into shape for the fight.
- 36:38[SPEAKER_00]: That was probably the most impressive thing that Gina Crowno did was getting into shape.
- 36:43[SPEAKER_00]: She said she lost a hundred pounds to be able to have that fight.
- 36:48[SPEAKER_00]: That is an impressive amount to lose.
- 36:51[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, the fight itself, not that exciting.
- 36:54[SPEAKER_00]: I already messaged you this elf, but I wasn't too mad about the result.
- 36:58[SPEAKER_00]: Because I was tired.
- 36:59[SPEAKER_00]: I was ready to go to bed.
- 37:00[SPEAKER_00]: I had to drive to Des Moines the next day and do this big wrestling show on on a Sunday, not not not your typical day for wrestling show, but, you know, it, wow, you know, we're sitting here and we're talking about how maybe these this card was full of squash matches a lot of fights that ended in the first round.
- 37:20[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't.
- 37:21[SPEAKER_00]: as much of a turn off as it would need to be to keep me from watching again.
- 37:27[SPEAKER_00]: I was entertained by the fights that was entertained by the fighters and if they were to put on another card and Jake Paul's in there talking about, I'll fight Nate Diaz, I'll fight this guy, I'll fight that guy, I'll tune in for that because I just want one of these dudes to beat the shit out of Jake Paul, that's what I want.
- 37:44[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but we already saw that.
- 37:46[SPEAKER_01]: Now we already saw that too.
- 37:47[SPEAKER_01]: We saw Jake Paul when Jake Paul signed the fight with Anthony Joshua.
- 37:51[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, okay, now this is obviously a joke.
- 37:53[SPEAKER_01]: Like we're getting worked here.
- 37:56[SPEAKER_01]: No, he actually got bottom.
- 37:59[SPEAKER_01]: He actually thought him.
- 38:00[SPEAKER_01]: And in my opinion, I thought that was worked because you could tell Anthony Joshua carried him until he decided not to carry him anymore.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_00]: Until he decided to break his jaw.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, and that was as violent as you're ever going to see a boxing matchp because he heard him and he heard him bad put him in the hospital for a week.
- 38:24[SPEAKER_01]: Had his mouth wired shut for I believe a month like that was violence and Jake Paul talking about, oh, I'll fight you and and Gino talking about I'll fight like does he have a death witch does he want to die in the ring like what is he trying to do?
- 38:42[SPEAKER_00]: watch it.
- 38:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the engano fight also was like, he was fighting a guy those, was a 37 pounds lighter than him, you know, a guy who's always fought a 205 pounds, engano's been a guy who walks around a 205 pounds, and he walks around a 275 without, without, with like, what?
- 39:02[SPEAKER_01]: 5% body fat?
- 39:06[SPEAKER_01]: You know, like the guy that guy looks like, you know, he looks special and like that was an awful awful fight.
- 39:15[SPEAKER_01]: It was terrible mismatch.
- 39:17[SPEAKER_00]: Well, we saw nothing was worse than the Jake Paul Mike Tyson fight.
- 39:22[SPEAKER_00]: You know, we all stupid me went into that one with high expectations from watching Tyson fights in the 90s and then that one was really just kind of a sad display.
- 39:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they sparked.
- 39:36[SPEAKER_01]: Those guys spored and I guess the only other fight to talk about was was the the CTE bull Oh my god, Mike Perry and Nate Diaz and people are all that that thing was a blood bath.
- 39:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, every Nate Diaz fights a blood bath.
- 39:50[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's got so much scar tissue.
- 39:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like you just you just look at him the wrong way.
- 39:55[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to bust a he's going to bust a scar Yeah, yeah, like my business
- 40:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Nate Diaz will get color in your business.
- 40:03[SPEAKER_01]: The easiest way possible.
- 40:04[SPEAKER_01]: Like he doesn't even have to gig himself or anything.
- 40:06[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know, yeah, when it happens naturally, we call it getting color the hard way, but like you said for him, that's the easy way, bro.
- 40:15[SPEAKER_00]: It's just, just pop me one good one in the, in the eyebrow.
- 40:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Randy Orton, a very famous thing.
- 40:21[SPEAKER_01]: I think we talked about it on the show.
- 40:23[SPEAKER_01]: Is the, he told Lesnar, you know, get me, give me color the hard way.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_01]: And Lesnar, are you for real?
- 40:32[SPEAKER_01]: He said, yeah, and you could see it when it happened and he just busted him, but Lesnar the consummate pro Like he got a delivered damage, but you could see that he kind of he brought the elbow and He pulled his elbow just a little bit because even if it's on with a real elbow, he could cost him right there in the middle of the ring So he he pulls his elbow just a little bit, but sure enough that thing was a gusher and yeah, obviously the rumor was that
- 41:01[SPEAKER_01]: events, backstage was like, you motherfuckers.
- 41:06[SPEAKER_00]: Probably.
- 41:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 41:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 41:10[SPEAKER_01]: So, yeah, not to get too much into into the secrets of the business, but is that a thing that happens?
- 41:17[SPEAKER_01]: Is there any authorized color?
- 41:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 41:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 41:21[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 41:21[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 41:21[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 41:23[SPEAKER_00]: It seems to be coming back for a while there in WWE.
- 41:27[SPEAKER_00]: It was banned, you know, they wanted a more family friendly product, but it does seem to be coming back as something that they're doing a little more regularly.
- 41:37[SPEAKER_00]: You see Cody Rhodes getting busted open quite a bit.
- 41:41[SPEAKER_00]: I would imagine that that's been cleared.
- 41:44[SPEAKER_00]: They asked the agent who asked the office, the office said, go ahead, let's give it a go.
- 41:49[SPEAKER_00]: You know, there was a time not too long ago where
- 41:53[SPEAKER_00]: some wrestlers, not in WWE, but in independence and in other places, they were getting like hepatitis from people who were bleeding without being tested and then getting into the cuts of other people.
- 42:08[SPEAKER_00]: And it was a bad deal.
- 42:10[SPEAKER_00]: And for a long time, even at my level, on the independence.
- 42:14[SPEAKER_00]: gicking and bleeding was kind of frowned upon.
- 42:17[SPEAKER_00]: It was looked down upon.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_00]: I remember I was in a stairway to hell match, something where there's just a bunch of bar wire hanging above the ring, and you climb the ladder, you get the bar wire.
- 42:29[SPEAKER_00]: I was in one of those matches a while back in Chicago,
- 42:33[SPEAKER_00]: thinking that, you know, once we get busted open, these, this crowd is going to go ape shit.
- 42:38[SPEAKER_00]: But as soon as I got color, the crowd was like, oh, no, no, no, no, I can't believe they did that.
- 42:42[SPEAKER_00]: That's so unprofessional.
- 42:44[SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, whoa, whoa, whoa, when did, when did wrestling fans turn into the morality police here?
- 42:49[SPEAKER_00]: Like, what are we doing?
- 42:50[SPEAKER_00]: But, uh,
- 42:51[SPEAKER_00]: It was taboo for a little while, it seems to be coming back just a little bit.
- 42:57[SPEAKER_00]: I am of the belief that blood in wrestling should be for a very special occasion.
- 43:03[SPEAKER_00]: It should be reserved for the biggest matches and the hottest storylines.
- 43:07[SPEAKER_00]: And you're viewed for a year and you have this big blow off.
- 43:11[SPEAKER_00]: And all of a sudden, the baby face is leaking blood throughout the whole match.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_00]: And that gets you emotionally invested in what's going on.
- 43:20[SPEAKER_00]: Then we're overexposing blood in the wrestling business and you run into the property of diminishing value.
- 43:29[SPEAKER_00]: But if it happens on a rare occasion, it can really get you emotionally invested.
- 43:33[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm not against blood, but I'm against gratuitous blood that just happens every time the the product is on television.
- 43:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and as far as wrestling, there was a couple of documentaries.
- 43:47[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if you saw an A&E did one on the Four Horsemen.
- 43:50[SPEAKER_01]: Did you see that?
- 43:51[SPEAKER_00]: Probably, yeah.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_00]: That sounds like something I would have watched.
- 43:54[SPEAKER_01]: That's new.
- 43:55[SPEAKER_01]: And WDB had one that they produced on Shawn Michaels.
- 43:58[SPEAKER_01]: I pretty much knew everything about Shawn Michaels.
- 44:00[SPEAKER_01]: But watching it, it was...
- 44:03[SPEAKER_01]: It was hard to watch at a time because for a time there because you could just tell what an asshole this guy was.
- 44:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you get a lot of that.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_00]: These my favorite wrestler of all time and I have had the opportunity to meet him a few times and then work with him down at NXT as a producer for some television down there.
- 44:24[SPEAKER_00]: And he certainly changed his life around in one of the most influential superstars.
- 44:30[SPEAKER_00]: of all time.
- 44:31[SPEAKER_00]: Happy he's in a better spot, but there was a very long time during Sean's career when he was addicted to drugs and alcohol and he was just an asshole to be around in the locker room because he was always piled up.
- 44:44[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and on the, uh, for horsemen one, it's like I'm looking at it up right here.
- 44:53[SPEAKER_01]: It's one of those things like, you ever feel like,
- 45:00[SPEAKER_01]: But you ever have something like just bring you back to that day.
- 45:06[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it happens with me a lot with music where I'm like, oh, I remember the first time I heard this song, you know?
- 45:15[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 45:15[SPEAKER_01]: Now, here's the thing.
- 45:23[SPEAKER_01]: For a thousand years, all right?
- 45:25[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because I'm right here.
- 45:26[SPEAKER_01]: I'm trying to cut to to confirm it.
- 45:31[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, that is the confirmation.
- 45:34[SPEAKER_01]: When I'm watching the A, A, any thing of the forehorsesman and I see Arna Anderson, oh, there's Arna Anderson, right?
- 45:45[SPEAKER_01]: And they talk about Oli Anderson.
- 45:49[SPEAKER_01]: I always thought, this is how good the cavefabe was on that.
- 45:53[SPEAKER_01]: Back in the day, Oli Anderson and Arna Anderson, it was, there was supposed to be brothers, right?
- 45:58[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
- 45:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yep.
- 45:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yep.
- 46:01[SPEAKER_01]: That K-fable is so good that I found on the real story is that Oli is Arn's father, right?
- 46:11[SPEAKER_01]: And they're only like, you know, gimmick brothers.
- 46:14[SPEAKER_00]: They're not related at all.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_01]: Not at all.
- 46:17[SPEAKER_00]: And you'd never know.
- 46:18[SPEAKER_00]: They look exactly like each other.
- 46:21[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 46:22[SPEAKER_01]: So you knew that at all the time, or did you get, you had to get smartened up on that.
- 46:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think, you know, as a kid watching the four horsemen, only was not a part by the time I started watching, but, you know, I was a historian of the business as something I wanted to do for a living.
- 46:39[SPEAKER_00]: So somewhere along the line, I found out that they weren't related.
- 46:43[SPEAKER_00]: And I was just as shocked as you were, is like, wait, how could those guys not be related?
- 46:49[SPEAKER_00]: If I were to pick any two guys to be related, it would be them.
- 46:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's how good the cafe was that, you know, I thought that the gimmick was not, you know, it's father and son, you know, I miss it.
- 47:03[SPEAKER_00]: I miss when cafe was alive and well and thriving as it was back then.
- 47:08[SPEAKER_00]: I think we lose a little magic in the professional wrestling business when you you give everyone the secrets and all you got to do is watch Netflix and watch WWE show Unreal and and you can watch two wrestlers put their match together.
- 47:23[SPEAKER_00]: And that bugs me.
- 47:24[SPEAKER_01]: It does yeah, not and they show you everything and behind the scenes how You know, I think it makes it look really really really bad Especially when you go back and you remember the match and you remember the show and then you're like, okay So so this is how they were doing it You know, then all the rest sort they come back and they shake hands and they hug each other and hell That was so much fun out there and I'm like don't show me that.
- 47:49[SPEAKER_00]: I want to know I want to think these guys hate each other
- 47:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, another shocking thing was that four horsemen documentary was JJ Dylan when he was their manager.
- 48:00[SPEAKER_01]: He had already wrestled something like 3,200 matches.
- 48:05[SPEAKER_01]: but he was their manager and he decided to change like his gimmick to be more like, you know, like Rick Flair.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_01]: Remember, his incarnation was Flair, aren't Anderson Tully Blanchard, Barry Wendom Ebley, was his incarnation, right?
- 48:19[SPEAKER_01]: And he decided, no, I gotta wear expensive suits because now I'm the manager, right?
- 48:23[SPEAKER_01]: He was 43 years old at that time.
- 48:25[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm looking on those clips and I'm like,
- 48:29[SPEAKER_01]: Man, people really looked older.
- 48:31[SPEAKER_01]: I'm back then.
- 48:32[SPEAKER_01]: How the hell was that guy 43?
- 48:34[SPEAKER_01]: He looked like he was 60.
- 48:36[SPEAKER_00]: You know?
- 48:37[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, there's some wrestlers.
- 48:39[SPEAKER_00]: You know, Rick Flair is kind of one of them where you felt like the first time you ever saw Rick Flair, he was 55 years old.
- 48:47[SPEAKER_00]: And the last time you ever saw Rick Flair, you're like, this dude's still 55 years old.
- 48:51[SPEAKER_00]: What has happened here?
- 48:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you know, yeah, well, born in different eighths because now there's like a lot of stuff that makes it kind of younger, you know, but I will be I will be 40 in just over one month.
- 49:07[SPEAKER_00]: So I'll be I'll be joining the the, you know, upper echelon of of of,
- 49:13[SPEAKER_00]: aged wrestlers, which is wild because I started in this business at 17 years old.
- 49:19[SPEAKER_00]: I became a pro wrestler at 17 and I remember all the guys in the locker room being like, oh, you're just a baby.
- 49:24[SPEAKER_00]: You're just a baby and now a go around to these independent wrestling locker rooms and I'm one of the oldest dudes on the show come to think of it on that show Sunday.
- 49:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that was the oldest guy on that show by a wide margin.
- 49:38[SPEAKER_00]: There was an 18 year old on that show and I said the same thing.
- 49:41[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like,
- 49:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 49:43[SPEAKER_01]: And from that four horseman documentary, it had one of the tag teams that I had in my top 10.
- 49:50[SPEAKER_01]: Remember, and I don't believe you had it in your top 10, where you did, but aren't Anderson and Tully Blanchard in my opinion, one of the greatest tag teams of all time.
- 49:58[SPEAKER_00]: Yep, they were great.
- 50:00[SPEAKER_01]: you know.
- 50:00[SPEAKER_01]: So, but that is the the best incarnation of the foreharseman when they started giving the foreharseman, they've fucked it all up, right?
- 50:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think people forget just how good of a wrestler Barry Winnom was, you know, he get late stage Barry Winnom and people go all he's old and, you know, he dealt with a lot of concussions and injuries later on in his career, but a young babyface Barry Winnom, you got to study that if you're into the history of this business,
- 50:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, old school WWE, his tag team with microtunda, feuding with, with the two Russians, Nikolai Volkov and who's his partner?
- 50:42[SPEAKER_01]: It was Volkov and Nikita.
- 50:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 50:45[SPEAKER_00]: Like, come on, like, that's a big, right?
- 50:48[SPEAKER_00]: Like, that felt like a big deal back then.
- 50:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they don't do that anymore.
- 50:52[SPEAKER_01]: That, you know, tag team wrestling is essentially dead now in the WWE.
- 50:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I saw a report online that WWE is looking to bolster their tag team division and somebody responded with, oh, they should probably hire the Motor City Machine Guns in the new day.
- 51:09[SPEAKER_00]: Those guys are pretty good.
- 51:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, or, you know, when they had the revival, they had the revival just, they had the revival just job for two months straight and they told them get the fuck out of here, I'm like Jesus, like you had, yeah, you had the best tag teams, I mean,
- 51:27[SPEAKER_00]: Again, from the independent ranks, the motor city machine guns are one of the best tag teams of the last 20 years.
- 51:34[SPEAKER_00]: All tag team wrestling nowadays has stolen directly from those guys, and I'm putting them over because I'm going to see them both tomorrow.
- 51:42[SPEAKER_00]: Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin.
- 51:43[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna hang out with both those guys, but but you know you had them on your roster You let them go the new day wanted, you know, respect and and some money and you you said hey We're gonna cut your pay by 50% they told you to kick rocks, you know, they gave them the javon haul and treatment but
- 52:03[SPEAKER_00]: Come on now.
- 52:04[SPEAKER_00]: What are we doing here?
- 52:05[SPEAKER_00]: Like, there's so many poor decisions being made by TKO in terms of how they're running WWE right now that I'm just, I'm flabbergasted half the time.
- 52:16[SPEAKER_01]: But their tag team thing, the tag team thing has been going on for so long that it can't be TKO.
- 52:23[SPEAKER_01]: Like that's, that's true.
- 52:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you're probably right.
- 52:25[SPEAKER_01]: Triple is just hates tag team wrestling.
- 52:27[SPEAKER_01]: He must.
- 52:29[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't know, like he's a big, you know, he's a big, he's a big figure in the history of professional wrestling.
- 52:35[SPEAKER_01]: Like, yep.
- 52:36[SPEAKER_01]: Tag team wrestling is kind of important.
- 52:38[SPEAKER_01]: It's been important.
- 52:38[SPEAKER_01]: Like there's huge teams.
- 52:40[SPEAKER_00]: and tag team wrestling is you know that it's an off-speed pitch you know you can't just throw fastballs out here we can't see the same thing over and over and over and over again we can't just see singles matches all night long a tag team matches a gimmick match that you don't have to pull a ladder or a table out for you know like we tag team wrestling is important
- 53:01[SPEAKER_01]: I wonder if Michael P.S.
- 53:02[SPEAKER_01]: Hayes was sitting right next to him all the time just it looks over like you know I'm here because of tag team wrestling exactly I legitimately do not remember a single single Michael P.S.
- 53:17[SPEAKER_00]: Hayes match I got that I always remember him with very
- 53:24[SPEAKER_01]: You're all good, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh,
- 53:53[SPEAKER_00]: Yep.
- 53:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 53:54[SPEAKER_01]: So, I don't believe.
- 53:55[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 53:56[SPEAKER_01]: Well, next week, OTA should be concluded, and we will be barreling toward training camp.
- 54:04[SPEAKER_01]: Like, we would be, by next week, we would be the MC.
- 54:08[SPEAKER_01]: It would be one almost 60 days away from training camp.
- 54:13[SPEAKER_00]: We're getting there.
- 54:15[SPEAKER_00]: We're getting there.
- 54:16[SPEAKER_01]: I'm pretty sure there's gonna be something else to talk about next week, for sure.
- 54:20[SPEAKER_01]: But for now, I guess we'll see you guys next week.
