- 7:42Let's talk science.
- 7:44Dopamine drives us to undertake difficult tasks, such as marathons or challenging work
- 7:49projects, even without immediate rewards.
- 7:53This chemical messenger in our brains is linked to processing rewards and motivation.
- 7:59While dopamine is often associated with pleasure-seeking behaviors like smartphone use, it also encourages
- 8:06us to value and pursue challenging activities.
- 8:11Science Michael Inslich calls this the effort paradox, where we sometimes prefer hard work
- 8:17over easy, finding more satisfaction in tasks that require perseverance.
- 8:23This intrinsic motivation can foster a balanced, sustainable pursuit of challenges and rewards.
- 8:30And in entertainment news, Netflix will pay $150 million to air two NFL games on Netflix.
- 8:39Air two NFL games on Christmas Day this year, featuring the Kansas City Chiefs' first Pittsburgh

- 8:55Day game in the 2025 and 2026 seasons.
- 9:01The Chiefs, led by stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelcey, will face the Steelers, potentially
- 9:07quarterbacked by Russell Wilson or Justin Fields.
- 9:12The Ravens Texans game showcases MVP Lomar Jackson against offensive rookie of the year
- 9:18C.J. Stroud.
- 9:20Well, alrighty folks, it's time for the quote of the day.
- 9:26And today, our quote comes from the opening credits of the most quotable movie of all
- 9:31time, Tach Gun.
- 9:34On March 3rd, 1969, the United States Navy established an elite school for the top 1%
- 9:42of its pilots.
- 9:44Its purpose was to teach the lost art of aerial combat and to ensure that the handful of men
- 9:50who graduated were the best fighter pilots in the world.
- 9:54They succeeded.
- 9:56Today, the Navy calls it Fighter Weapons School.
- 10:01The Flyers call it Top Gun.
- 10:05And that's a wrap for this morning.
