- 0:20Speaker 1: Phrasing.
- 0:21Speaker 2: Okay, I purposely I said what I said earlier.
- 0:24Speaker 1: Today we're in brown Town, then we're in pink Stack,
- 0:27Speaker 1: and you know whatever it all is. But what's going on? Everybody?
- 0:30Speaker 1: I am the one, the only, the w oh okay?
- 0:33Speaker 1: I you joined here by the normal cast of misfits.
- 0:35Speaker 1: We have Napoleon, Dinomite himself, Dexter, Hello, there, the mean one,
- 0:42Speaker 1: the noble one, Zach.
- 0:45Speaker 2: It's untrue, untrue, but thank you. How's it going?
- 0:47Speaker 1: We got Ogre?
- 0:49Speaker 3: Hey, what's going on?
- 0:50Speaker 1: Big z Hey?
- 0:52Speaker 2: Hey, that's me and Cole.
- 0:55Speaker 4: Hello.
- 0:57Speaker 1: All right, more to go over this today, but we're
- 0:59Speaker 1: gonna first start out with our Unique of the week,
- 1:02Speaker 1: brought to you by our patreons. Go over, sign up
- 1:05Speaker 1: for the Patreon right now. Ze. Well, I'm sure we'll
- 1:08Speaker 1: talk more about that later on, but for right now,
- 1:10Speaker 1: brought to you by our Patreon Patreon dot com forward
- 1:13Speaker 1: slash altered corner, Ogre take it away.
- 1:16Speaker 5: Hey.
- 1:17Speaker 3: Okay, So this week I kind of decided I just
- 1:19Speaker 3: went through and looked at some of what we talked
- 1:21Speaker 3: about already, and I was feeling a little patriotic, so
- 1:25Speaker 3: I wanted to throw any axiom unique up and I
- 1:29Speaker 3: will tell you it's a little bit of a struggle
- 1:33Speaker 3: to go through and find one that I thought was
- 1:35Speaker 3: like really worth highlighting. So we kind of settled on
- 1:39Speaker 3: a like it's almost an entire class of uniques that
- 1:42Speaker 3: you see come through in Axiom, and that that's the
- 1:46Speaker 3: annazis that are specifically we want to look for the
- 1:49Speaker 3: ability here. Stats I'm just gonna skip them. They don't
- 1:53Speaker 3: matter because you're here for the ability.
- 1:57Speaker 6: Well, I mean you want like lower than like three
- 1:59Speaker 6: from and in lower than from reserve.
- 2:02Speaker 3: Sure, but like you're playing axioms, so yeah, probably that's
- 2:06Speaker 3: just a thing that you're doing with all your cards. Anyways,
- 2:11Speaker 3: this announcing that we picked and we kind of we
- 2:14Speaker 3: debate that we actually looked at two before we decided
- 2:16Speaker 3: on this one, and this was thanks to Dexter pulling it,
- 2:18Speaker 3: Thank you, sir. The thing that we want to highlight
- 2:24Speaker 3: here is that he has an arrow ability on this
- 2:26Speaker 3: one that says you may put a card from your
- 2:27Speaker 3: hand in reserve first clause that before we even get
- 2:33Speaker 3: to the bottom half of that, you're playing axiom. You're
- 2:36Speaker 3: turning on your Frankenstein's, you're turning on your tinker bells.
- 2:40Speaker 3: You're making your Amelia Earhart an unfairly costed card. You're
- 2:44Speaker 3: turning on all of your like draw and read resupply tools.
- 2:48Speaker 3: Like that's good, We've covered that before. That's standard good
- 2:52Speaker 3: stuff for Axiom. But then it says if you do
- 2:55Speaker 3: put that card from your hand into reserve, I gain
- 2:58Speaker 3: a boost for each card in each player's reserve, which
- 3:03Speaker 3: is different than the base card, and that normally it's
- 3:07Speaker 3: just the cards that in your reserve, right, so you
- 3:09Speaker 3: have the opportunity to kind of stack your reserve up,
- 3:12Speaker 3: use things like Axiom reprocessor and whatever else to dump
- 3:15Speaker 3: cards in there. Maybe you're playing Subash and you put
- 3:17Speaker 3: one in at the start of your turn, like you
- 3:19Speaker 3: can you can pretty easily get an Axiom reserve stack
- 3:23Speaker 3: up to like four or five, which is I think
- 3:27Speaker 3: pretty much what you can do in uh Lira as well.
- 3:31Speaker 3: Like I don't think I typically see that many more
- 3:34Speaker 3: cards in that, even in a fen deck. But then
- 3:38Speaker 3: if you think about that, like let's say you stack
- 3:40Speaker 3: your reserve up to two or three cards, if you're
- 3:43Speaker 3: playing it at the right time, your opponent's got two
- 3:45Speaker 3: or three cards in their reserve, that means that you're
- 3:48Speaker 3: getting six boosts just for playing the card, right, Like,
- 3:57Speaker 3: stat wise, you would have to be costed pretty terribly
- 4:00Speaker 3: for that not to be good. And in this case,
- 4:03Speaker 3: I know I said the stats didn't matter, but the
- 4:05Speaker 3: one that we're looking at is a is a three
- 4:07Speaker 3: to two cost and then has three one one for stats,
- 4:10Speaker 3: so you're almost always there are so few situations where
- 4:15Speaker 3: this card is not going to bring more stats than
- 4:19Speaker 3: it costs you to play it. And the at the
- 4:24Speaker 3: very end, there is also a firm reserve ability that is,
- 4:26Speaker 3: you may put a card from your hand in reserve,
- 4:29Speaker 3: which in this case, first, yeah you can, you can
- 4:33Speaker 3: order the For those that don't know, it doesn't matter
- 4:36Speaker 3: the order that triggers are printed on a card. You always,
- 4:40Speaker 3: as the active player, choose the order that you resolve them.
- 4:42Speaker 3: So in this case, you would first when playing him
- 4:45Speaker 3: from reserve, choose to resolve his from reserve trigger, put
- 4:50Speaker 3: a card from your hand into reserve, then you hit
- 4:53Speaker 3: his arrow, you put another card from your hand into reserve,
- 4:57Speaker 3: and then you play a Nazi. So to do the
- 5:00Speaker 3: math on this, like Ananzi has to be in your
- 5:03Speaker 3: reserve for you to use this ability so effectively, what
- 5:06Speaker 3: you're doing is you're replacing him with a card from
- 5:09Speaker 3: your hand so that you don't go negative one on
- 5:10Speaker 3: your stats. But that's that that could still make the difference, right, Yeah, so.
- 5:16Speaker 7: That's still playing a seven five five, assuming you don't
- 5:19Speaker 7: even have your havens.
- 5:21Speaker 3: So yeah, that's just that's without any other support.
- 5:24Speaker 1: That's that's pretty good.
- 5:25Speaker 7: Yeah, Yeah, you're not like that's that's that's beyond Bravos numbers.
- 5:30Speaker 7: It's beyond any numbers that you're gonna get just from
- 5:32Speaker 7: one card. You don't have to meet any special conditions for.
- 5:34Speaker 5: That to happen.
- 5:35Speaker 7: And that's like not counting whatever their reserve is, Like,
- 5:38Speaker 7: that's minimum. It's going to be seven five five in
- 5:42Speaker 7: that scenario, which is not a hard to achieve scenario
- 5:45Speaker 7: at all.
- 5:46Speaker 3: There are some weaknesses that you're contending with here that
- 5:48Speaker 3: you're not contending with in some of the other places.
- 5:51Speaker 3: Unlike in Bravos, unlike in Muna, you don't really have
- 5:55Speaker 3: a ready way to apply tough. You are sitting on
- 5:57Speaker 3: a three hand cost body, so you're susceptible to almost
- 6:03Speaker 3: all of the removal. You're a super cheap teamwork. You're
- 6:09Speaker 3: a caleen burst. Your isn't it is intimidation two or
- 6:13Speaker 3: is it three?
- 6:15Speaker 5: Intimidation is four or five or less?
- 6:18Speaker 3: Okay, Yeah, so intimidation hits you, I mean just all
- 6:20Speaker 3: of it. Everything can hit you. And unlike with some
- 6:24Speaker 3: other like cheap big body cards that you might try
- 6:28Speaker 3: to play, this one requires coordination over the course of
- 6:32Speaker 3: an entire turn, right, because you want your reserve stacked
- 6:36Speaker 3: to play this card to get maximum value. So normally,
- 6:39Speaker 3: when you're playing a low cost big body, you want
- 6:41Speaker 3: to delay until the back half of your turn as
- 6:43Speaker 3: much as possible. Here, unless you just have a really
- 6:47Speaker 3: fat hand, you kind of can't do that. You have
- 6:51Speaker 3: to play it up front to get maximum value, which
- 6:53Speaker 3: means you're more susceptible to those things that already are
- 6:56Speaker 3: hitting you.
- 6:57Speaker 7: So I mean, if you're running hooked rare and you're
- 7:01Speaker 7: going a second like that, that's something.
- 7:04Speaker 3: Yeah, play that. There's don't get me wrong, and there's
- 7:09Speaker 3: I've seen some things like I have a reserve stacking deck.
- 7:13Speaker 3: It's not good. It's just a meme, but it's fun
- 7:15Speaker 3: and you can do things like, uh, what second, it's
- 7:19Speaker 3: mechanical something. It's one two costed, and the text on
- 7:25Speaker 3: it is that you use an arrow ability on one
- 7:27Speaker 3: of your permanents, mechanical mechanical training. So you're playing Brown,
- 7:32Speaker 3: so you're running Haven's, you play your mechanical Training, it
- 7:36Speaker 3: goes to reserve. You target your Haven at another card
- 7:39Speaker 3: to your reserve, and then you play You're a Nazi
- 7:43Speaker 3: and you're now two up for It's basically like spending
- 7:46Speaker 3: one mana for two boosts before you play it. But
- 7:50Speaker 3: it also gives you you net the point five card
- 7:53Speaker 3: draw in there for forgetting this the resupply in. So
- 7:56Speaker 3: it's I'm not going to sit here and tell you
- 7:59Speaker 3: that it is a game winning strategy that you're gonna
- 8:01Speaker 3: be able to take into your local meta, but it
- 8:03Speaker 3: is very fun to play, and I do think that
- 8:07Speaker 3: there is a world coming up in the next set,
- 8:10Speaker 3: maybe the sets beyond where that's sort of because that
- 8:13Speaker 3: we've seen this sub theme right like we've seen a Nazi,
- 8:15Speaker 3: there's a few other cards that have abilities that care
- 8:17Speaker 3: about the depth of your reserve. I think that'll be
- 8:21Speaker 3: an archetype that you can kind of play with in
- 8:23Speaker 3: the future. So cards like these, if you're collecting Brown uniques,
- 8:27Speaker 3: might be something that right now is kind of a
- 8:31Speaker 3: mean build that's fun. But in the future maybe they're competitive.
- 8:35Speaker 5: I still think this is a pretty competitive card.
- 8:37Speaker 3: Right now, I'd run it car, yeah, if I had
- 8:39Speaker 3: I run it.
- 8:41Speaker 6: And I mean in the future too, we could see
- 8:44Speaker 6: like more heroes that have bigger reserve zones, so these
- 8:47Speaker 6: cards get even better.
- 8:49Speaker 3: Oh yeah, just by default. That's something we haven't really
- 8:51Speaker 3: spent much time talking about. But if you see somebody
- 8:53Speaker 3: that has a native three.
- 8:55Speaker 7: Well, it also doesn't have to be a hero to
- 8:57Speaker 7: do that, right, Like you're talking about Brown, so like
- 8:59Speaker 7: I don't see anything Like I think a completely legitimate
- 9:04Speaker 7: Brown landmark could be a landmark that just increases your
- 9:07Speaker 7: reserve and your landmark zone by one. That's all the
- 9:10Speaker 7: landmark would do. And I think that would be a
- 9:13Speaker 7: completely legitimate, viable landmark for Brown.
- 9:16Speaker 5: That's what they need.
- 9:18Speaker 3: It starts to flesh out some strategies that because right now,
- 9:20Speaker 3: like when you're playing Brown competitively, you're probably playing Turbo.
- 9:23Speaker 3: I've seen some Subash decks that are are pretty good
- 9:26Speaker 3: that are kind of getting out that direction, but for
- 9:29Speaker 3: the most part, like we're kind of locked in on
- 9:31Speaker 3: one archetype right now. If you're playing Turbo or Subash,
- 9:35Speaker 3: you're running almost the same set of cards. There's just
- 9:38Speaker 3: like a robot suite that you know, suben for Subash
- 9:40Speaker 3: that you don't have for Turbo. But cards like that
- 9:45Speaker 3: could open up some additional archetypes for us to start
- 9:48Speaker 3: kind of playing and testing out new things that would
- 9:50Speaker 3: be really cool.
- 9:51Speaker 7: Yes, and that same landmark could like out of Fact
- 9:54Speaker 7: and over to Lira because they do that reserve thing too, So, like,
- 9:57Speaker 7: I think that's a slot in the game design that
- 10:00Speaker 7: definitely needs to be explored to Like, if we know
- 10:03Speaker 7: the hero new heroes aren't going to be out for
- 10:05Speaker 7: a while, they could definitely still increase our reserve in
- 10:08Speaker 7: our landmarks through actual cards.
- 10:11Speaker 3: And we've seen we've seen gear now as well, right,
- 10:13Speaker 3: so you could have maybe could do that. Yeah, it
- 10:17Speaker 3: gives you that temporary additional reserve and or landmarks slot,
- 10:24Speaker 3: but then as soon as you advance in that lane,
- 10:26Speaker 3: it goes to reserve, so you lose you lose that slot.
- 10:30Speaker 3: But that's still a cool design space.
- 10:32Speaker 7: Yeah, I think that's something that they could do without
- 10:34Speaker 7: necessarily going to the hero mark because we know it
- 10:37Speaker 7: to be a while until we get heroes that are new,
- 10:39Speaker 7: and so there's still a lot of things they can
- 10:41Speaker 7: do with all of the elements of the game with
- 10:43Speaker 7: just landmarks, because they really have not done that much
- 10:46Speaker 7: with landmarks. I was expecting more, like I honestly hoped
- 10:50Speaker 7: there would be uniques for all cards, right, Like it
- 10:53Speaker 7: would have been fun to have unique spells, and like
- 10:55Speaker 7: Brown needs unique landmarks like real bad.
- 10:59Speaker 3: And maybe maybe that will be something that comes down
- 11:02Speaker 3: the line. I think they kind of were a little
- 11:03Speaker 3: bit scared of it, honestly, because, like, permanents are a
- 11:06Speaker 3: little bit different than a regular card, where you can
- 11:08Speaker 3: only expect to see, you know, that that one tug
- 11:11Speaker 3: of war and then it's hitting reserve and you know,
- 11:12Speaker 3: maybe you play it again, maybe get sabotage whatever. A
- 11:15Speaker 3: permanent's kind of there until it gets removed.
- 11:17Speaker 1: Until you which I think everyone has that. Well, who
- 11:25Speaker 1: has at Lyra has a cocoon that moa, that's it cocoon.
- 11:33Speaker 5: So it's just none that.
- 11:35Speaker 8: Is good and it's just the best stick us.
- 11:40Speaker 3: Yeah sticky, not so the rest of us deal with.
- 11:42Speaker 3: You've got foreign under and then you've got four and up.
- 11:45Speaker 3: It's the split, and right now all the permanents that
- 11:49Speaker 3: most people care about removing are foreign under but we're
- 11:53Speaker 3: starting to see some of the like larger ones terrorize
- 11:56Speaker 3: our friend Coal, so maybe we'll see more like or
- 12:00Speaker 3: permanent hate in the future. But Klofka, who doesn't have
- 12:03Speaker 3: to pick which is I think where a lot of
- 12:05Speaker 3: it's like power and flex comes from.
- 12:07Speaker 4: Speaking of that, did you ever finish those ten games
- 12:10Speaker 4: in one day?
- 12:12Speaker 3: I know because I got the tournament, so I got
- 12:17Speaker 3: six in and you didn't.
- 12:19Speaker 4: You didn't go up against one single of Kesha during
- 12:22Speaker 4: that time.
- 12:23Speaker 3: Nope, I because there's so there's not.
- 12:27Speaker 4: A separation based on like elo right, So it just
- 12:31Speaker 4: makes no sense how we have wildly different matchups all
- 12:35Speaker 4: the time.
- 12:35Speaker 3: I have a giant blue shaped or colored target on
- 12:39Speaker 3: my back where it's like if I log in, they're
- 12:42Speaker 3: gonna throw every blue that they can find in the
- 12:44Speaker 3: pool at me. I don't know how they flag it.
- 12:45Speaker 3: Probably it's something just like in the metadata for my
- 12:50Speaker 3: board game Arena account, like this guy loves to play
- 12:53Speaker 3: into ortis.
- 12:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I set your settings that way. I'm sorry about that.
- 12:59Speaker 4: I have gone again that Akesha deck and slightly won
- 13:03Speaker 4: a faunas four times.
- 13:05Speaker 5: This week alone. I rarely see I see a fauness.
- 13:11Speaker 5: I don't see a catcha that much and that.
- 13:15Speaker 6: But never the bastion build. So I don't know why
- 13:18Speaker 6: you're running into that one so much.
- 13:19Speaker 3: I don't know the same setting, but this isn't set
- 13:23Speaker 3: Tortoise's state.
- 13:25Speaker 4: Yeah, we'll we'll talk about it later, but yeah.
- 13:28Speaker 1: I think you have it's creeping out to click. It's
- 13:30Speaker 1: a difficult creeping up on. That's the you gotta you
- 13:34Speaker 1: gotta turn down your difficulty setting is what it is.
- 13:36Speaker 1: You got to go from hard to easy. I wish
- 13:43Speaker 1: all right, let's move into our next segment, Why I
- 13:47Speaker 1: Suck It Altered, brought to you by Carl's junior Dexter.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Tell us why you Suck it Altered today?
- 13:55Speaker 6: Yeah, So, I mean, I do have a limited collection,
- 13:59Speaker 6: Like I don't have all the yet, and I don't
- 14:01Speaker 6: have any great uniques, but I've been putting some uniques
- 14:04Speaker 6: into my decks that are definitely subpar, and putting those
- 14:09Speaker 6: uniques into decks that are probably better than commons but
- 14:12Speaker 6: worse than rares. Are fine, and it makes sense for
- 14:14Speaker 6: the deck construction, but in actual like gameplay, a lot
- 14:19Speaker 6: of times I just keep them in my hand and
- 14:22Speaker 6: like play them every time, and it does not make
- 14:24Speaker 6: sense to do that a lot of the times, and
- 14:26Speaker 6: I should just throw it away in the resource if
- 14:29Speaker 6: I have better cards to play or other things that
- 14:32Speaker 6: are more useful. So just like knowing that uniques can
- 14:37Speaker 6: be good, but sometimes you just have to get rid
- 14:39Speaker 6: of them if they're not what you need in the
- 14:41Speaker 6: moment is very important.
- 14:44Speaker 7: I have to, like on second this because I have
- 14:47Speaker 7: a couple of decks that have really good uniques. But
- 14:50Speaker 7: like sometimes when you draw your two cards given the
- 14:54Speaker 7: game state, like you have to put them in your
- 14:56Speaker 7: manna because if you hold on to them, like you
- 14:59Speaker 7: have a dead turn and the like mid game, which
- 15:02Speaker 7: is basically like you know, turns four through six, Like,
- 15:06Speaker 7: you cannot get double pushed in the game in a
- 15:08Speaker 7: lot of decks unless you're wa and afford to win.
- 15:13Speaker 7: So like sometimes you have to get rid of those
- 15:15Speaker 7: shiny gold cards to you know, not get wrecked.
- 15:19Speaker 8: We even mean hard.
- 15:21Speaker 2: We we well, when we were watching the was it
- 15:25Speaker 2: ace or was it a Wall last week where you
- 15:29Speaker 2: thought that Pluka had ditched his super quets when it
- 15:33Speaker 2: really got sabotaged, but you had made the point like
- 15:35Speaker 2: he couldn't even play that at this point because of
- 15:39Speaker 2: the cost, right he was going to get double pushed.
- 15:41Speaker 2: So like case in point, like we almost sought live
- 15:44Speaker 2: except for that he actually did get it sabotaged rather
- 15:46Speaker 2: than have to manicize it.
- 15:48Speaker 3: So and it's it's tempting, right, It's hard because like
- 15:52Speaker 3: your user, your cool like card that nobody else can have.
- 15:56Speaker 3: So when you see it in your hand, it, I
- 15:59Speaker 3: don't know, I feel that same poll like I don't
- 16:02Speaker 3: want to just throw this in me. It's really hard, Like.
- 16:05Speaker 7: I know I've held like I know I've done exactly
- 16:07Speaker 7: what I we talked about sucking and altered about, like
- 16:10Speaker 7: I've held onto a car like uh, Daxter brought up
- 16:14Speaker 7: this is a potental topic and it was like, literally
- 16:17Speaker 7: the day before he mentioned it, I held on too.
- 16:21Speaker 7: I think it was my unique order spy and the
- 16:23Speaker 7: cigy deck I've been running reps on and it was
- 16:26Speaker 7: like I was like, looking at my starting hand, there
- 16:28Speaker 7: was clearly a better route that had been more effective
- 16:30Speaker 7: to start the game with, but I kept the order
- 16:33Speaker 7: to spy, which was going to do nothing for me,
- 16:35Speaker 7: given I was playing against Muna who was going to
- 16:37Speaker 7: anchor their dudes the first two rounds. Anyway, until like
- 16:41Speaker 7: turn four or five, so I was just holding it,
- 16:44Speaker 7: which I eventually did play it, and I did get
- 16:46Speaker 7: it sabotaged because my unique sabotage is when they go
- 16:49Speaker 7: to reserve so they don't get a chance to save it,
- 16:53Speaker 7: like a kind of like a legged which is why
- 16:55Speaker 7: I like it a lot. But in the end I
- 16:58Speaker 7: lost that game, like by one zone. We were like
- 17:02Speaker 7: one zone to one zone, and had I had like
- 17:05Speaker 7: the extra zone that I could have potentially got by
- 17:07Speaker 7: having a different setup on my turn two or three,
- 17:12Speaker 7: I could have won the game. And I lost because
- 17:14Speaker 7: I held onto the tiny car. I just really wanted
- 17:16Speaker 7: to keep it the call.
- 17:18Speaker 1: It's tough to do right.
- 17:22Speaker 8: That's the whole point.
- 17:23Speaker 6: Like if you just have to do it sometimes, well.
- 17:26Speaker 2: You want to make it work, right, You're going to
- 17:28Speaker 2: try to force it or you hold it and you're like,
- 17:30Speaker 2: I'm gonna make this work.
- 17:31Speaker 1: You're only allotted three, right, And not only in this game,
- 17:36Speaker 1: but in other games we're taught our rares or are
- 17:40Speaker 1: expensive or extremely dollar wise valuable cards have so much power,
- 17:47Speaker 1: and in this game sometimes they do, but then sometimes
- 17:51Speaker 1: they don't. Like it's uniques in this game are extraordinarily weird,
- 17:58Speaker 1: like there are and there's just the fact that there's
- 18:01Speaker 1: bad uniques is such a like, ah, I don't want
- 18:07Speaker 1: to say characteristics, but it's such an odd thing, right
- 18:10Speaker 1: because these are supposed to be like your money cards, right,
- 18:14Speaker 1: Like you go to Magic and like you know, you
- 18:16Speaker 1: have your rears and a lot of them are your
- 18:18Speaker 1: money cards. And then you go to like Yu gi oh,
- 18:21Speaker 1: and the big shiny ones are your money cards. All
- 18:23Speaker 1: over every card game, the big shiny ones, the search cards,
- 18:27Speaker 1: the ones you're chasing after are always your money cards.
- 18:31Speaker 1: And it just feels like absolute dog water putting it
- 18:35Speaker 1: away and knowing you're never gonna see it again for
- 18:37Speaker 1: the rest of the game, even though you have a
- 18:39Speaker 1: better line to take.
- 18:42Speaker 3: It's so true.
- 18:43Speaker 7: It's like at the end of that game, I was like,
- 18:46Speaker 7: I totally lost this game because of my six cards,
- 18:50Speaker 7: Like I made a bad choice there, And I know
- 18:52Speaker 7: why I made the bad choice, because I didn't want
- 18:55Speaker 7: to Mana at the start of the game.
- 18:58Speaker 5: One of the three unique cards of my deck.
- 19:00Speaker 4: Yeah, I feel like I have the perfect example here
- 19:04Speaker 4: in my Muna deck, and I pisted it in the
- 19:06Speaker 4: sheet so you can see it's my unique son of
- 19:10Speaker 4: jiggersil Ye and it's by far like top four of
- 19:14Speaker 4: my Muna uniques. Well, it's such a hard card to
- 19:20Speaker 4: make a decision on.
- 19:22Speaker 5: And especially with Muna. We just talked about how cards carved.
- 19:26Speaker 7: You are in Muna yep. So like if you hold
- 19:28Speaker 7: onto the sixth cost son of egg Brazil in your
- 19:31Speaker 7: starting six, you are effectively playing the majority of your
- 19:35Speaker 7: game starting at two cards.
- 19:38Speaker 3: And that's good. And Green doesn't have as many ways
- 19:43Speaker 3: to dump cards directly into reserve, right, so it's not
- 19:46Speaker 3: like you're you're able to sort of foist this guy
- 19:50Speaker 3: into your reserve where you can then pay him for
- 19:52Speaker 3: the for the four costs.
- 19:55Speaker 5: Six four from reserve.
- 19:57Speaker 7: And even then, like that's also a really bad thing
- 20:00Speaker 7: to do with Muna because what we talked about last week,
- 20:02Speaker 7: like like you don't have access to a lot of
- 20:05Speaker 7: cards unless you go the route where you draw in
- 20:07Speaker 7: your opponent draws, and that is also just bad. So
- 20:11Speaker 7: like it's just really really hard to do that kind
- 20:13Speaker 7: of thing, like the hold on them. So yeah, like
- 20:15Speaker 7: if I draw Don VIGs Erzil Mike starting six, unless
- 20:19Speaker 7: I also have tiny Gin, tiny Gin, like.
- 20:22Speaker 5: He's got to go to Mana for me in my opinion.
- 20:25Speaker 4: Yeah, Well, and when you're playing mona, as you talked
- 20:28Speaker 4: about last week, you have a lot of things you're
- 20:32Speaker 4: up against that can just tear you apart. So if
- 20:35Speaker 4: if I have this in my hand, and I have
- 20:37Speaker 4: two cloth cocoons, but I'm against like Awaru or somebody,
- 20:41Speaker 4: I have to keep the two cloth cortoons, like, it's
- 20:46Speaker 4: just yeah, so like this this unique is just gonna
- 20:49Speaker 4: go straight to Mana and never be seen again.
- 20:52Speaker 5: Mm hmm.
- 20:53Speaker 7: Quite often it's just a really bad starting six. And
- 20:55Speaker 7: that's I mean, that's something we could probably have a
- 20:58Speaker 7: discussion about all of itself one day, is like is
- 21:02Speaker 7: it worth going high manna for these uniques knowing that
- 21:06Speaker 7: if you draw them and you're starting six, they're probably
- 21:09Speaker 7: having to be manned.
- 21:11Speaker 5: That's that could be an interesting discussion.
- 21:14Speaker 1: But not today, Choices deck construction Today, what are we
- 21:19Speaker 1: talking about? Zee?
- 21:20Speaker 5: All Right?
- 21:21Speaker 7: So I actually wanted to talk about like control, whether
- 21:25Speaker 7: that means sabotage or destruction, and I started to like
- 21:27Speaker 7: make a concept around that to talk about the day.
- 21:29Speaker 7: And then in that process I was like, well, I
- 21:32Speaker 7: can't really do this until I talk about card draw
- 21:34Speaker 7: because a lot of the decisions I'm making and how
- 21:37Speaker 7: I'm building decks in regards to the number of controlled
- 21:40Speaker 7: cards I'm putting in my decks has to do with
- 21:43Speaker 7: how many cards I'm drawing in general. So that is
- 21:47Speaker 7: what we're going to break down as far as like
- 21:49Speaker 7: things to be aware of when you're constructing decks. So
- 21:52Speaker 7: we're just gonna talk about I'm gonna keep the math
- 21:55Speaker 7: behind this, like relatively and simple terms as far as
- 21:58Speaker 7: like there's going to be a whole lot of like
- 22:00Speaker 7: you know, nitty gritty of the stats here, but it's
- 22:04Speaker 7: just gonna give a general idea of what we're talking
- 22:06Speaker 7: about with like a low versus a high draw deck.
- 22:11Speaker 7: And draw is a weird term in Altered altogether because
- 22:16Speaker 7: in most games, like efficiency is referred to just I'm
- 22:20Speaker 7: drawing a card that's a new card available to me.
- 22:23Speaker 7: Things that help efficiency and Altered are also stuff that
- 22:26Speaker 7: like remove fleeting or technically anchored kind of helps with
- 22:31Speaker 7: like the amount of like stuff on the board over time.
- 22:34Speaker 5: There's a lot of.
- 22:34Speaker 7: Things that just kind of help your cycle that don'tren't
- 22:37Speaker 7: necessarily drawing a new card. But today I'm gonna basically
- 22:44Speaker 7: focus more on the actual drawpart. So like most games
- 22:50Speaker 7: end at around the nine man outer range, so you're
- 22:57Speaker 7: roughly looking at seven rounds. You're starting with three, you
- 23:02Speaker 7: get six more, that's your seventh round, seven or eight rounds.
- 23:06Speaker 7: So I'm generally going to talk about like a seven
- 23:08Speaker 7: round game being the close of the average game after
- 23:12Speaker 7: you play a bunch of games is generally where it goes. Yes,
- 23:15Speaker 7: there are decks that nextend this call before you say
- 23:17Speaker 7: something about that one.
- 23:19Speaker 2: Deck or anytime dextra plays, and if.
- 23:24Speaker 7: You're playing Turmo, you're either going to beat them or
- 23:28Speaker 7: lose to them really fast. They don't really have another
- 23:31Speaker 7: mode or way to play. But most in general games
- 23:36Speaker 7: are going to go about seven rounds that nine or
- 23:38Speaker 7: ten man round, which means that you're going to see
- 23:45Speaker 7: a certain amount of cards in all all of those games.
- 23:49Speaker 7: So you're going to start off with the six cards
- 23:52Speaker 7: you get from the very beginning.
- 23:54Speaker 5: Do you see those immediately, and then you're going to
- 23:56Speaker 5: see twelve.
- 23:57Speaker 7: More cards over like those seven more rounds. So that's
- 24:03Speaker 7: eighteen cards without doing anything right, because you're gonna draw
- 24:08Speaker 7: two cards every round.
- 24:09Speaker 5: Except for one hero that's a little weird.
- 24:12Speaker 7: So you have those, Yes, you're gonna man out one
- 24:15Speaker 7: of them, but you still see them out of the
- 24:18Speaker 7: whole deck. So you're gonna see that amount of cards.
- 24:20Speaker 7: And then there are certain cards that you're gonna put
- 24:22Speaker 7: in the deck that will help that cycle. So you're
- 24:27Speaker 7: gonna want to We've talked about two different deck constructions,
- 24:29Speaker 7: and there are certain cars that just when you put
- 24:32Speaker 7: in there, they're either drawing themselves or they're resupplying, So
- 24:37Speaker 7: you're getting to see more cards with those decks. Now,
- 24:40Speaker 7: most decks are going to try to want to run
- 24:41Speaker 7: as many of those as possible so that you just
- 24:44Speaker 7: have access to more cards, because more cards means more options,
- 24:48Speaker 7: whether that's just playing a one minute drop to see
- 24:50Speaker 7: what they do, to respond or to answer their their cards,
- 24:54Speaker 7: or just to get to that car that is your
- 24:56Speaker 7: winn anyway, so this allows you to see a little
- 25:01Speaker 7: bit more cards because you're adding cards that draw in
- 25:05Speaker 7: so most cards, most decks generally have three to six
- 25:10Speaker 7: of those that they're going to add, so which means
- 25:14Speaker 7: because they do help you draw a relatively like normal
- 25:19Speaker 7: mundane load draw deck, you're seeing roughly twenty to twenty
- 25:23Speaker 7: two cards of your whole deck by the end of
- 25:27Speaker 7: the game. So I'm calling those the load draw decks
- 25:30Speaker 7: because I'm just breaking you can break this into a
- 25:32Speaker 7: binary situation because then you have hydraw decks, which just
- 25:38Speaker 7: basically is mere Ortis, Fen and Turbo Like those are
- 25:44Speaker 7: our high drawl range of stuff, and they generally see
- 25:49Speaker 7: anywhere from twenty four to twenty eight potentially thirty cards
- 25:53Speaker 7: in that timeframe, and they're because they're just having access
- 25:56Speaker 7: to more cards the way they work. So there are
- 26:02Speaker 7: just certain cards that will allow you to see more cards.
- 26:06Speaker 7: And right now, out of the meta that we play
- 26:11Speaker 7: in from all of the games we track, other than Cold,
- 26:14Speaker 7: who only seems to run into a certain color, I
- 26:18Speaker 7: have the significant decks that are in the low draw range,
- 26:22Speaker 7: like they're just going to see less cards.
- 26:23Speaker 5: This doesn't mean they're like they suck. They're still actually
- 26:26Speaker 5: very competitive.
- 26:27Speaker 7: But our low draw decks that you see out there
- 26:30Speaker 7: are Tasia, Kojo and SIGGI. You're looking at decks that
- 26:34Speaker 7: see twenty eight or less cards by the end of
- 26:36Speaker 7: their games. Our hydraw decks are warow Fen, Tressed, and
- 26:42Speaker 7: any ismir deck, and they typically are going to see
- 26:46Speaker 7: thirty plus cards by the end of their games based
- 26:51Speaker 7: on just the way they play and the cards that
- 26:52Speaker 7: they have available to So before I get into like
- 26:56Speaker 7: some of the big cards, look forward to make sure
- 26:58Speaker 7: that you're continuing to draw cards, because a lot of
- 27:00Speaker 7: the stuff we talk about in the future, as far
- 27:02Speaker 7: as constructing the deck, it's going to assume that you
- 27:05Speaker 7: have a certain amount at all laibled to you.
- 27:07Speaker 5: What are you all thoughts.
- 27:08Speaker 7: On on how much of the cards you're seeing in
- 27:12Speaker 7: those games that you all played?
- 27:17Speaker 5: Nothing?
- 27:21Speaker 2: I think we all waited for someone else to talk. Yeah, yeah,
- 27:24Speaker 2: I'll go ahead real quickly. Your your high your your
- 27:26Speaker 2: low draw number was a little surprising to me because like,
- 27:30Speaker 2: there are a lot of games to where I still have.
- 27:32Speaker 3: Wait, wait, hold on, I'm sorry. You mean to tell
- 27:35Speaker 3: me that the blue player hurt the low draw number
- 27:38Speaker 3: and was surprised?
- 27:40Speaker 2: I was, I was. It was shocking. No, Like, seriously,
- 27:43Speaker 2: the the number of cards that on a on a
- 27:47Speaker 2: bad draw that I have with WARU like, I'll still
- 27:51Speaker 2: have twenty ish maybe fifteen, Yeah, fifteen is low. I
- 27:56Speaker 2: would still say twenty ish cards left of my deck,
- 27:58Speaker 2: and granted that's still night team that I'm drawing. But
- 28:01Speaker 2: like you said, the numbers. Wasn't twenty for a low
- 28:03Speaker 2: draw deck? Yeah, like that just it That is shocking
- 28:07Speaker 2: to me, Like I don't granted I haven't played as
- 28:10Speaker 2: any games as you, but like it doesn't. That feels
- 28:13Speaker 2: like a high number. But like I know the I
- 28:16Speaker 2: know that it's there, right because you're drawing two per turn,
- 28:19Speaker 2: so that's roight.
- 28:20Speaker 5: Yeah, roughly twenty is in game like the end of
- 28:24Speaker 5: the game.
- 28:25Speaker 4: Yeah, I can to keep track of that playing Tasia
- 28:28Speaker 4: so much. How much is really left?
- 28:31Speaker 7: And the Taja, like Tasa, is the most of the low
- 28:34Speaker 7: I'm about to talk about that because like Taja is
- 28:37Speaker 7: the one that has to consider anchor to be their
- 28:39Speaker 7: form of efficiency because they have to do that. Kojo
- 28:45Speaker 7: made the way I made it maximizes the amount of
- 28:47Speaker 7: draw can puts it possibly get. But Tasha doesn't even.
- 28:51Speaker 5: Have those choices.
- 28:52Speaker 3: It's Bravos, right, so even like wait, if you maximize,
- 28:55Speaker 3: if you take just every card in Bravos, then will
- 28:57Speaker 3: let you draw card even if you take the facsimily
- 29:00Speaker 3: like I'm not actually drawing, I'm just ramping and then
- 29:02Speaker 3: I'm choosing not to use it as a ramp but
- 29:05Speaker 3: to hold my two on the next turn, you're still
- 29:08Speaker 3: like the fake draws that you get from ramping aren't
- 29:14Speaker 3: really going to like, that's not fair. It is a
- 29:18Speaker 3: card that you're going to get to keep in hand
- 29:19Speaker 3: that you wouldn't have otherwise, But you're not accelerating the
- 29:23Speaker 3: speed that you see different options.
- 29:26Speaker 5: Yeah, right, more cards.
- 29:28Speaker 3: Yeah, you were going to see it anyways. It just
- 29:30Speaker 3: makes it available to you. Whereas you know, we see
- 29:34Speaker 3: some of these, like some of the crazy blue uniques
- 29:36Speaker 3: that let you just power through your deck. And then
- 29:38Speaker 3: these guys have have hands. Like in this game, when
- 29:42Speaker 3: I see a player that has five or six cards,
- 29:45Speaker 3: I thank god, they're doing good. But then you see
- 29:47Speaker 3: people and they've got like a fan of nine cards,
- 29:50Speaker 3: and you wonder, okay, hold on, something broke over there
- 29:55Speaker 3: for sure, I think even on Trace, and it's one
- 29:58Speaker 3: of the things that kind of tells me if I'm
- 30:00Speaker 3: having a good Trace game or a bad Trace game.
- 30:04Speaker 3: If so, they'll target. If you're playing Turbo, the other
- 30:08Speaker 3: player is going to try to burn your havens, that's
- 30:11Speaker 3: a given. But next when your adas and your salvager
- 30:18Speaker 3: is the resupply, right, yep, when those cards are in
- 30:21Speaker 3: the reserve, they're gonna kill them. It doesn't matter if
- 30:24Speaker 3: it gives you a counter. They're going to kill them
- 30:26Speaker 3: and getting them hit, particularly by cards like Leggett that
- 30:30Speaker 3: don't give you the counter for them. We've talked about
- 30:32Speaker 3: this a million times, but slowing the the that card draw,
- 30:37Speaker 3: because that's that's all you have. Is turbo is the
- 30:39Speaker 3: speed at which you move through your deck and you
- 30:41Speaker 3: filter through to get your little one cost cards in
- 30:44Speaker 3: your head. Because like in my turbo when it's running,
- 30:48Speaker 3: I'm trying to get through my decks super fast so
- 30:50Speaker 3: that I can see my three copies of Haven and
- 30:53Speaker 3: so that I can get two of them stuck on
- 30:55Speaker 3: the board and then have like if I'm having a
- 30:57Speaker 3: great game, I get that one turn where I sort
- 31:01Speaker 3: of overload my permanence, I play the third Haven down
- 31:04Speaker 3: and I get to just cook for one turn, right.
- 31:07Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's a fun turn. That's a real
- 31:11Speaker 5: fun turn.
- 31:12Speaker 3: When I don't get that draw, I am completely dead
- 31:15Speaker 3: in the water because like I need to see those
- 31:18Speaker 3: additional options because I am trying to filter to my
- 31:21Speaker 3: power cards, and not every deck's built that way. Like
- 31:25Speaker 3: you can just put a bunch of value cards in
- 31:26Speaker 3: a deck and have it, have it work really well.
- 31:30Speaker 3: But on a turbo is sort of a weird deck
- 31:35Speaker 3: in that I think it's a combo deck. It's just
- 31:38Speaker 3: that the combo is all baked into having one card.
- 31:44Speaker 3: You really need your Havens, this is true.
- 31:46Speaker 5: You really need the card.
- 31:48Speaker 3: Yeah, you have to have it, and you really also
- 31:51Speaker 3: want to have your ability online and then then you're
- 31:54Speaker 3: playing the game. Right. So I've never thought to count,
- 32:00Speaker 3: like how many cards are left in my deck at
- 32:02Speaker 3: the end of a game. But I can tell you
- 32:04Speaker 3: that at the end of a good game, there's not.
- 32:07Speaker 5: Look over at the number of NBGA, It'll just right
- 32:10Speaker 5: right there. Yeah, to do it.
- 32:12Speaker 7: But I mean basically this comes down like when we
- 32:14Speaker 7: have the three low cart draw decks from the competitive cycle.
- 32:17Speaker 7: And that's actually another reason why so many heroes are
- 32:19Speaker 7: not competitive. Like almost all of the heroes I never
- 32:22Speaker 7: talk about are not just in low tier. They're in
- 32:25Speaker 7: low tier with less options to do things with because
- 32:28Speaker 7: their card values, not like their hero's actual ability doesn't
- 32:32Speaker 7: hang with the other heroes. So like those low tier
- 32:35Speaker 7: decks Taja, Kojo and Cigi that are good, those are
- 32:38Speaker 7: all good decks, only see about fifty percent of their
- 32:41Speaker 7: cards a game. The high tier, like the hydraw decks,
- 32:45Speaker 7: which is the Warrow, Purple, all Purple, Fen and traced,
- 32:50Speaker 7: like they're seeing seventy percent of their their their deck,
- 32:54Speaker 7: which means like.
- 32:56Speaker 5: A lot of us don't have three three fire.
- 32:58Speaker 7: Uniques, Like I don't have three fire unichs any deck
- 33:00Speaker 7: I run. But like, if I have three fire uniques,
- 33:04Speaker 7: if I've been that blessed to open them or spent
- 33:08Speaker 7: that amount of money, right, if I have a seventy
- 33:11Speaker 7: percent chance to see, Like, if I'm seeing seventy percent
- 33:13Speaker 7: of my deck per game, that just means the uniques
- 33:16Speaker 7: in those decks have quite a bit more value than
- 33:20Speaker 7: uniques in the low decks, because like, if I'm only
- 33:22Speaker 7: seeing fifty percent of my cards per game, I'm seeing
- 33:25Speaker 7: those uniques way less often, no matter how impactful they are.
- 33:28Speaker 6: Right Well, with thin it's a bit weird because I mean,
- 33:32Speaker 6: you're not seeing half of the cards you're drawing, because.
- 33:35Speaker 5: I part doesn't matter as far as the math of scene.
- 33:39Speaker 1: I don't, I don't, I don't think I think you're
- 33:41Speaker 1: missing the crucial point.
- 33:42Speaker 2: Right.
- 33:43Speaker 1: Card draw is important any game you play, and it's
- 33:47Speaker 1: mainly due to the more cards you see, the more
- 33:49Speaker 1: answers you're able to find. Yeah, right, you have answers
- 33:54Speaker 1: into your deck. Any meta relevant deck has answers to
- 33:57Speaker 1: the other meta relevant decks. However, if you are seeing
- 34:01Speaker 1: less cards, you have less opportunity to find the answers,
- 34:07Speaker 1: and you're praying more to the RNG gods to help
- 34:10Speaker 1: you than you are in a deck that's able to
- 34:13Speaker 1: see a lot of cards. Artists Wahu especially sees buckets
- 34:18Speaker 1: of cards that car and I think, Zee, maybe you
- 34:23Speaker 1: can break down the math. I doubt you did this math,
- 34:26Speaker 1: but I would bet you that Wau probably sees the
- 34:31Speaker 1: most cards in the game. Like, of all the heroes,
- 34:36Speaker 1: he is able to see more cards than any other hero.
- 34:42Speaker 1: I would I would.
- 34:46Speaker 7: Probably has more cards and resupply and draw simultaneous.
- 34:51Speaker 4: Saying hero because what he's specifically saying hero.
- 34:55Speaker 3: I wanted to put I wanted to put Turbo in contention.
- 34:58Speaker 3: But the thing about Turbo is that, like it's not
- 35:02Speaker 3: quite as consistent because you are like war you can't
- 35:07Speaker 3: really shut down his card draw.
- 35:09Speaker 5: Finn would see more before Turbo would.
- 35:12Speaker 3: Yeah, is number a well a well built Warrio probably
- 35:20Speaker 3: in this meta right now, Like if you're talking about
- 35:22Speaker 3: just the competitive end.
- 35:24Speaker 7: If any of you U have draw on them, Warrow
- 35:28Speaker 7: is definitely ahead of ISMIR. But if you just talk
- 35:32Speaker 7: about the standard of the only thing you're drawing is
- 35:35Speaker 7: the three Attorneys, the three Ozma's, THENIR has you beat
- 35:40Speaker 7: in almost all of their builds.
- 35:44Speaker 1: I'd be interested to find what each hero has. As
- 35:47Speaker 1: far as car dra goes, I would bet you the
- 35:50Speaker 1: top tier heroes, the you know, quote unquote meta heroes
- 35:53Speaker 1: are drawing more than the non meta heroes.
- 35:56Speaker 3: I think that's almost universally true.
- 35:59Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean, that's that's in our thing right here,
- 36:01Speaker 7: like that's yeah, yes, that is true, with the exception
- 36:06Speaker 7: of Tasia.
- 36:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 36:07Speaker 3: I think one of the things that that I've seen
- 36:09Speaker 3: as an argument, like or at least proposal as to
- 36:12Speaker 3: why card draison is important, because I think people have
- 36:15Speaker 3: all come around at this point, Like in the very
- 36:18Speaker 3: very very early days of sort of discussing altered structure,
- 36:22Speaker 3: there was some talk about like, well, card draws are
- 36:24Speaker 3: not that important because you get to play each of
- 36:26Speaker 3: your cards twice. My argument for that has always been,
- 36:28Speaker 3: it doesn't matter if I can play a card twice
- 36:31Speaker 3: if that card is not the thing I need in
- 36:33Speaker 3: this moment, right, ye. Yes, being able to play a
- 36:37Speaker 3: card twice if I have the answer is great because
- 36:40Speaker 3: it means that I have that answer twice. So I'm
- 36:42Speaker 3: not only taking care of the situation in the moment,
- 36:44Speaker 3: but I'm putting myself aside something to deal with it
- 36:47Speaker 3: in the future.
- 36:47Speaker 7: And most of the answer cards quote unquote, they fleeting.
- 36:53Speaker 5: Yeah, there are very few true answer cards that.
- 36:56Speaker 3: Yeah, but you know some there are cases where they're not.
- 37:01Speaker 3: Either way, you still got to see it, right, And
- 37:03Speaker 3: it's not just that you need to see it, it's
- 37:06Speaker 3: that you need to see it when you need it.
- 37:08Speaker 3: And so we're compounding, like the RNG equation to have
- 37:15Speaker 3: the card you need when they get the card that
- 37:18Speaker 3: you need to play it against. That's just card games,
- 37:21Speaker 3: but in this game, like if you aren't putting the
- 37:26Speaker 3: things into your deck to draw through it and try
- 37:28Speaker 3: to try to solve that equation in favor of your
- 37:32Speaker 3: side of it, it gets a little ugly.
- 37:37Speaker 1: It's pretty rough.
- 37:39Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 37:40Speaker 7: Before I move on with the segment, I do want
- 37:42Speaker 7: to give some deck constructed advice. So, like the years
- 37:46Speaker 7: are identified three standouts for efficiency and draw for all
- 37:51Speaker 7: of the houses, or factions, So Axiom I have rare Ada,
- 37:57Speaker 7: Lovelace and rare Hooked. Those are super value as far
- 38:00Speaker 7: as getting new cards in your hand and simply play.
- 38:03Speaker 7: Traced is my third card the Pravos. I've got rare
- 38:07Speaker 7: physical training, Rare Haven, Bashion. We had a whole deck
- 38:10Speaker 7: construction episode on Bravos about why I am hard on
- 38:13Speaker 7: those being great and the third one as well, Axiom
- 38:17Speaker 7: Salvager pairs perfectly with the Bastian. You get to see
- 38:20Speaker 7: a brand new card from the resupply on the bottom.
- 38:23Speaker 7: For Lira, the out of faction Alavera is one of
- 38:27Speaker 7: I think the best drivers for the Lira in general,
- 38:30Speaker 7: specifically Fenn the common Hathor that's another one of those.
- 38:35Speaker 5: It's like quotation drawl.
- 38:38Speaker 7: While it's not actually giving you a new card, it
- 38:41Speaker 7: does allow you to use a spell again, most commonly
- 38:45Speaker 7: like a cappella or twinkle or whatever. So that and
- 38:48Speaker 7: it could potentially land your as Morelda with resupply again,
- 38:53Speaker 7: which is a fresh card.
- 38:56Speaker 5: And then just play.
- 38:56Speaker 7: Fenn sees a ton of cards like there's there's no
- 39:00Speaker 7: higher draw hero from scratch than Fenn. It just gets
- 39:04Speaker 7: to draw a half basically a half a card every
- 39:07Speaker 7: turn is starting to turn two. That's a lot of cards.
- 39:10Speaker 7: Fin's real good.
- 39:12Speaker 5: Then we have I'm gonna say, I'm gonna skip men
- 39:14Speaker 5: it will come back.
- 39:15Speaker 2: There.
- 39:15Speaker 7: Ortis you've got the common Osma fantastic card draws to
- 39:20Speaker 7: basically from well one from play one from reserve, the
- 39:24Speaker 7: rare Attorney only if you're playing Waru ultimately can draw
- 39:29Speaker 7: up to four cards generally draws you two per game
- 39:33Speaker 7: per attorney, which is huge. And then orders no matter
- 39:37Speaker 7: which version of Orders you play, and the out of
- 39:39Speaker 7: faction Bobby Yaga is pretty good. Lots of order sex
- 39:43Speaker 7: run it. Not all Warros run it, but almost every
- 39:46Speaker 7: Cigi runs it because they need the card draw real
- 39:49Speaker 7: bad because they don't.
- 39:50Speaker 5: Have the other draws that Orders has. Well, they have Ozma,
- 39:53Speaker 5: but they don't have the attorney. Doesn't work for them.
- 39:56Speaker 7: Ismir I love the rare Categorn Mage. It's really easy
- 39:59Speaker 7: to pump that up, especially with the funnest to get
- 40:01Speaker 7: the draw there. Common or rare Bob Yaga both great
- 40:05Speaker 7: for draw and then of course they have the common
- 40:08Speaker 7: Magical Training, which is the most basic draw spell.
- 40:11Speaker 5: In the game.
- 40:12Speaker 7: Pay Amna draw a card. It's basically a one man
- 40:15Speaker 7: after you that gives you a card. And going back
- 40:19Speaker 7: to Muna, I love Rare ala Vera to resupply. You
- 40:23Speaker 7: can potentially get a couple of times if you have
- 40:25Speaker 7: anchors in your deck that are more than just that card,
- 40:29Speaker 7: and then anchors in general. That is literally where the
- 40:32Speaker 7: draw ends with Muna. I do not like Daughter anymore.
- 40:35Speaker 7: I do not like it Soon. I felt every time
- 40:37Speaker 7: I played I was giving too big advantage to the
- 40:40Speaker 7: decks in the games that are the best decks in
- 40:41Speaker 7: the game.
- 40:42Speaker 5: So it's just so I was just manaing Kadsoon and
- 40:45Speaker 5: Daughter all the time, which meant they just shouldn't be
- 40:48Speaker 5: in my deck.
- 40:50Speaker 4: The problem that you have with daughters who were running
- 40:53Speaker 4: common right, No.
- 40:54Speaker 5: I was running the rare.
- 40:55Speaker 4: Mmmm. I feel like the rare is a card that
- 40:59Speaker 4: can be good in a Tasia deck and in certain decks.
- 41:03Speaker 5: But my problem with the Daughter is that the stats
- 41:06Speaker 5: are great.
- 41:06Speaker 7: I love the stats on you, yeah, But the decks
- 41:10Speaker 7: that I was struggling to beat with the most with Tajia,
- 41:14Speaker 7: I was always having to manner them because I could
- 41:16Speaker 7: not afford to give them a card. And if that's
- 41:18Speaker 7: the scenario, man it doesn't help me win the games
- 41:20Speaker 7: I need to win.
- 41:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 41:22Speaker 4: Do you do you have three rare anari?
- 41:26Speaker 5: I do not have them in the deck. I have them,
- 41:28Speaker 5: I don't use the Maybe we need.
- 41:31Speaker 4: To test some minari with anchor, because that's that's straw
- 41:35Speaker 4: at noon, rare and not terrible steps.
- 41:39Speaker 5: That could be a thing.
- 41:40Speaker 7: I think that's one of those ones I looked at though.
- 41:42Speaker 7: If I had the uniques that did that anchor thing,
- 41:46Speaker 7: my deck would change a lot because then I would
- 41:48Speaker 7: have a lot more access to anchor.
- 41:50Speaker 4: Yeah, but the not not good choices.
- 41:54Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 41:54Speaker 7: And then my third note from Muna is that that's it.
- 41:57Speaker 7: Only have the alo Vera card anchors help keep your
- 42:01Speaker 7: guys out and then sad day, that's it.
- 42:04Speaker 5: I don't have any other cards to talk about that
- 42:05Speaker 5: I love.
- 42:07Speaker 7: And just a note from last week, make sure you
- 42:10Speaker 7: have spindles to keep your anchor dues alive, because none
- 42:14Speaker 7: of this stuff works in my opinion without spindle. Right now,
- 42:17Speaker 7: I think Muna, of all the factions, needs by far
- 42:21Speaker 7: the most card support from set two, and I know
- 42:24Speaker 7: we've talked about that.
- 42:26Speaker 5: Since they just need help.
- 42:28Speaker 4: Yedi's gonna be a character that draws three cards and
- 42:34Speaker 4: it goes out.
- 42:35Speaker 3: I think Yeddi is going to disappoint you by how
- 42:38Speaker 3: it is.
- 42:39Speaker 7: Like with where Muda is right now, Yedi would have
- 42:41Speaker 7: to say, I like, it's like a six sixty six
- 42:44Speaker 7: that advances an expedition.
- 42:46Speaker 5: Yeah, I am.
- 42:47Speaker 4: I am concerned because the two cards that we have
- 42:50Speaker 4: seen out of Muna are seemingly very big things. And
- 42:55Speaker 4: I'm totally fine only having rare Hydress might big.
- 42:59Speaker 5: We do have some.
- 43:01Speaker 7: Spoilers now ish, Yeah, that's what I was talking about,
- 43:07Speaker 7: three of them.
- 43:09Speaker 1: It might be time to talk spoilers here on one
- 43:11Speaker 1: of our segments.
- 43:13Speaker 5: Well, we need to wait to actually get enough to
- 43:14Speaker 5: talk about right now. There is not anything good enough
- 43:17Speaker 5: to talk about mine. Yeah.
- 43:18Speaker 3: I think we briefly touched on the cards that were
- 43:20Speaker 3: made visible to us, and the only thing they've done
- 43:24Speaker 3: so far there's right now. Loki has kind of been
- 43:28Speaker 3: teasing that we'll get to see some more information on
- 43:30Speaker 3: either Amarok, which is a red Wolf card that I'm
- 43:36Speaker 3: very excited to see, or this green yety thing that
- 43:40Speaker 3: I guess some people might care about. But we don't
- 43:44Speaker 3: really know anything besides the fact that ones are at
- 43:47Speaker 3: one's green and their names.
- 43:51Speaker 4: Yep, nothing too exciting in the way of details. I
- 43:54Speaker 4: can start collecting that though, so we can save it
- 43:57Speaker 4: up and then have a whole all conversation about it.
- 44:02Speaker 3: And yeah, that's going to be a super exciting time
- 44:04Speaker 3: on the cast whenever we get into the call it
- 44:08Speaker 3: like spoiler season from other games, and we can start
- 44:11Speaker 3: sort of hypothesizing how they're going to impact the metas
- 44:13Speaker 3: that we're in today.
- 44:17Speaker 1: For like whatever that was that they wanted in the
- 44:20Speaker 1: Altered Server.
- 44:22Speaker 4: I I have not heard back yet, but I will
- 44:25Speaker 4: stay in touch. And Wookie, your mic is going robotic?
- 44:31Speaker 1: Oh interesting robotic?
- 44:35Speaker 5: It is a little bit.
- 44:37Speaker 1: Yeah, that's weird. I don't know why I've been having
- 44:41Speaker 1: trouble now for two days.
- 44:42Speaker 2: I know.
- 44:44Speaker 1: I'll make sure I'm plugged in. It won't be growing
- 44:46Speaker 1: robotic on my end because mine's directly in there.
- 44:51Speaker 3: So oh, he's the enough to ignore for us then yeah, I.
- 44:55Speaker 1: Mean it should be just fine on my end. God,
- 44:58Speaker 1: I hope for a recording, but.
- 45:01Speaker 3: So we should say listeners, if you are listening and
- 45:04Speaker 3: here your favorite Altered podcast, and that happens to be
- 45:09Speaker 3: us talk about spoilers.
- 45:10Speaker 1: We're not their favorite podcast. We could be somebody with
- 45:15Speaker 1: Somebody with Tits is their favorite altered podcast. Let's be honest.
- 45:19Speaker 4: Well, we have the most tits out there.
- 45:21Speaker 5: So there's a bunch of is there.
- 45:25Speaker 1: Wow?
- 45:26Speaker 3: Wow, I don't want to be associated with any of this.
- 45:29Speaker 1: You don't want to be associated with.
- 45:32Speaker 2: I do a lot of.
- 45:34Speaker 1: Whatever is for use for you?
- 45:36Speaker 5: I mean one, two, I mean there's twelve.
- 45:40Speaker 1: Yeah, well, I hate to tell you there's a it's
- 45:42Speaker 1: a certain variety. Not all tits are the same.
- 45:47Speaker 4: Hey, man, bods are in and we have a lot
- 45:49Speaker 4: of them. I assume your dad.
- 45:52Speaker 1: All right, we don't have a bunch of dad pods.
- 45:55Speaker 1: So if you are a female altered player, make sure
- 46:00Speaker 1: make sure you stay tuned for the Altered Corner or
- 46:03Speaker 1: other whatever floats your boat. Make sure you stay tuned
- 46:06Speaker 1: for the ever I mean the beginning of the year's coming.
- 46:10Speaker 1: Maybe we make an Altered Corner calendar.
- 46:15Speaker 5: We got half the month.
- 46:16Speaker 1: There's six of us, we each get two months. Oh no,
- 46:23Speaker 1: all right, are we ready to go into lines exact? Please?
- 46:30Speaker 1: Once again for the fifth week in a row. Why
- 46:34Speaker 1: don't you tell me why ortis is so good?
- 46:37Speaker 2: Uh? Not ortists specifically, what the title of my segment
- 46:44Speaker 2: is flattening the curve, which is actually very unfortunate because
- 46:47Speaker 2: we were just talking about titties and all that.
- 46:48Speaker 1: But you know whatever, Hey, flat ones are fine, They're fine. Lopsided,
- 46:55Speaker 1: you know.
- 46:57Speaker 2: That's right, every bird, our last listener, every beautiful. Okay,
- 47:04Speaker 2: So seriously, though, I am going to talk about flattening
- 47:07Speaker 2: the curve. As we have played in this game, all
- 47:13Speaker 2: of us and whomever is listening. Uh, if you've played
- 47:16Speaker 2: any amount of games, your deck has gone through many, many,
- 47:20Speaker 2: many different iterations. And the same can be said for
- 47:23Speaker 2: the ward deck that I play. It started off with
- 47:27Speaker 2: certain cards that you know, uh THEE and I thought
- 47:30Speaker 2: were good at the time, that seemed to work out whatever,
- 47:33Speaker 2: et cetera. We had the isatos in there, six cost,
- 47:38Speaker 2: We had consoles at for cost, you know, just a
- 47:41Speaker 2: bunch of bunch of like higher cost cards. And as
- 47:46Speaker 2: we played, and as you find out you those are,
- 47:51Speaker 2: they can be easy to remove. We've already talked about
- 47:53Speaker 2: the four plus cost removals. Right. You spent a turn
- 47:56Speaker 2: spending six man o for a card and it gets
- 48:00Speaker 2: earn with one card. You're kind of sitting there like, oh,
- 48:02Speaker 2: what do I do now? So what are the things
- 48:05Speaker 2: that we've talked about and has come up in a
- 48:07Speaker 2: lot of other games, is wanting to flatten your man
- 48:11Speaker 2: A curve as much as possible. Right now, I'm looking
- 48:15Speaker 2: at our warter deck and as you can go to
- 48:18Speaker 2: thirty nine cards dot Com and see what the winning
- 48:21Speaker 2: decks have put out there, you can see almost across
- 48:27Speaker 2: the board. And I'm only speaking more. We'll also because
- 48:29Speaker 2: some of the other ones in this moment, but across
- 48:31Speaker 2: the board you can see the man A curve getting
- 48:34Speaker 2: lower and lower and lower. Clearly, what that's doing is
- 48:39Speaker 2: giving more options for in the higher mano turns right.
- 48:42Speaker 2: So the fact that you know you have in our
- 48:45Speaker 2: case a toth right three cost, you have a'ma at
- 48:50Speaker 2: two costs, you had the legates at two costs, you
- 48:52Speaker 2: have the attorneys at two costs, quit set three, fraud
- 48:54Speaker 2: prints at one, orders trooper at one. It gives you
- 48:57Speaker 2: a lot of opportunities to the let that tug of
- 49:01Speaker 2: war during that round develop and see how your opponent
- 49:05Speaker 2: is responding. And like Zee has said before and I
- 49:08Speaker 2: think others on this cast, is to see one how
- 49:13Speaker 2: your opponent reacts and then to actually play your true
- 49:16Speaker 2: turn that you want to play. It's harder to do
- 49:19Speaker 2: that in the lower maniturns, but in the higher maniturns
- 49:22Speaker 2: when I once you start hitting six, seven, eight, you
- 49:24Speaker 2: can see a little bit more card play and see
- 49:28Speaker 2: what develops. So one of the things, like I said,
- 49:31Speaker 2: that we've done is we've lowereder a mano cost. I'm
- 49:35Speaker 2: currently looking at our deck. Hand cost you know, ranges
- 49:40Speaker 2: from one to four, reserve cost one to five, and
- 49:43Speaker 2: there's only the reason why there's a reserve cost of
- 49:45Speaker 2: five in there is because it is our unique Robinhood
- 49:47Speaker 2: that is currently being played. That is probably one of
- 49:51Speaker 2: the high rants. But even at the fore cost hand
- 49:54Speaker 2: cost four, we only have three cards. At reserve cost
- 49:57Speaker 2: of two or more, we have three cards, so the
- 50:00Speaker 2: majority of the cards are sitting in that two to
- 50:02Speaker 2: three range. And again it gives you more options for
- 50:07Speaker 2: some of the other factions that other people may play.
- 50:10Speaker 2: I don't know why.
- 50:16Speaker 4: Shut hard like having to think and not have our decks.
- 50:22Speaker 2: Oh the phone. Now there is a lot of decision
- 50:26Speaker 2: points that I have to make. And when I play
- 50:28Speaker 2: war Room.
- 50:32Speaker 1: When you're gonna play, when you're going to pay an
- 50:34Speaker 1: extra one, you know, he has to decide what tourney's
- 50:38Speaker 1: going to win the game.
- 50:40Speaker 2: You know he's got This is all true, This is
- 50:42Speaker 2: all true.
- 50:43Speaker 5: He has to that token every turn.
- 50:48Speaker 1: Car Tunnel thanks to you, you.
- 50:51Speaker 2: Know, sleep or not to sleep, to play Robin Hood,
- 50:54Speaker 2: to not play Robin Yes, you always play Robin Hood.
- 50:57Speaker 2: But but sincerely though, like you're looking at Ravos right,
- 51:01Speaker 2: You're your manic curve isn't really that important. You're going
- 51:05Speaker 2: to be playing higher cost cards. You're going to be
- 51:07Speaker 2: playing those huge value cards. The same thing for Muna.
- 51:11Speaker 2: We've talked about, like there's some higher cost cards that
- 51:14Speaker 2: you were going to want to play potentially depending on
- 51:17Speaker 2: what because on those we literally just talked about, like
- 51:21Speaker 2: you can't actually afford to have a flat curve because
- 51:24Speaker 2: you'll run out of cards.
- 51:25Speaker 7: Like you you will lose the game by burning through
- 51:28Speaker 7: your deck if your whole deck is cheap. So you
- 51:31Speaker 7: do need mid range like more threes and fours in
- 51:34Speaker 7: your deck because you will run out of cards if.
- 51:37Speaker 2: You do not do that. And as we were talking
- 51:40Speaker 2: about the draw earlier, and it was like such a
- 51:42Speaker 2: nice like aligned segment with what I was going to
- 51:44Speaker 2: talk about today, ismir with the ifanis right you're running
- 51:48Speaker 2: a lot of low cost spells, so you can just
- 51:50Speaker 2: fire fire, fire, fire, fire and sticky is kind of
- 51:55Speaker 2: you know, you're looking at low cost cards, but there are.
- 51:58Speaker 5: Some, you know, the all over the place with what
- 52:02Speaker 5: people come with.
- 52:03Speaker 2: Yeah, and then you know, if if anybody wants to
- 52:07Speaker 2: run that, what is it? The the Yazmeerbastian eight or
- 52:11Speaker 2: nine costs one. Yeah, it's ridiculous, Like, I don't know
- 52:15Speaker 2: what kind of what kind of mental person would run.
- 52:19Speaker 5: Many people run it. It's just the people that play
- 52:21Speaker 5: cold again.
- 52:22Speaker 2: It's in his settings of hard mode, easy mode, and
- 52:25Speaker 2: you know whether how much he wants to suffer during
- 52:27Speaker 2: the day.
- 52:27Speaker 3: Just you wait, it's coming for you.
- 52:30Speaker 2: I just you wait. I only I was gonna say
- 52:33Speaker 2: I only played during a so you know it's uh,
- 52:35Speaker 2: I only see those good index right there, we have attract.
- 52:39Speaker 7: Four hundred and forty two games, twenty eight of the
- 52:42Speaker 7: Maria Kesha and five of them that are tractor against you.
- 52:49Speaker 4: Listen, we don't we don't need to talk about my
- 52:51Speaker 4: recent all from anything good.
- 52:55Speaker 7: Yeah, you're streakent so bad you stopped tracking data. We didn't,
- 53:00Speaker 7: we would have a whole lot of weird wins on here.
- 53:03Speaker 2: I guess I will.
- 53:04Speaker 4: I will just say that I have two decks on there,
- 53:08Speaker 4: and one of them I played against Akesha zero times,
- 53:13Speaker 4: the other a lot more than I should have, and
- 53:15Speaker 4: a funness a lot more than I should have, and
- 53:17Speaker 4: all of those were during the very bad time.
- 53:21Speaker 7: You do have ten of our fifty six games versus
- 53:24Speaker 7: the funness, So I all agree with you there you
- 53:26Speaker 7: were running into a funness a lot more than the
- 53:28Speaker 7: ratio would suggest you should have.
- 53:32Speaker 2: I believe that Trace would be another one that would
- 53:34Speaker 2: also like to have that nice you know, yeah, flattening menicurve,
- 53:38Speaker 2: but to cost one, right, and a lot of it's
- 53:42Speaker 2: going to be from reserve too, right. So again you've
- 53:45Speaker 2: seen this in a lot of other games. You're gonna
- 53:47Speaker 2: want to wanna you know, you're looking at not even value,
- 53:51Speaker 2: but you're looking at to keep a nice flat manic curves.
- 53:54Speaker 2: So that way you have options when you're playing, especially
- 53:58Speaker 2: if you're drawing a lot of cards. If you're not
- 53:59Speaker 2: drawing a lot of cards, right, it gives you options.
- 54:01Speaker 7: So I have won games on Trace where I've stopped
- 54:03Speaker 7: manning at six and just like I'm going to just
- 54:06Speaker 7: draw two.
- 54:07Speaker 5: Cards the rest of the game and play my entire
- 54:10Speaker 5: end the rest of the game, and it worked.
- 54:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 54:16Speaker 1: I mean there's also I'm gonna dial for you excuse me,
- 54:20Speaker 1: Oh no, I'll do it. There there's also like there's
- 54:23Speaker 1: huge advantages right now to who fleshing out the turn.
- 54:29Speaker 1: I guess we're calling it the tug of war, right,
- 54:33Speaker 1: Like you want to see where your opponent's at and
- 54:37Speaker 1: like counting up man of orbs. It's a big deal, right,
- 54:42Speaker 1: and then knowing what lines they're able to take with
- 54:45Speaker 1: what's available to them to know what your next move
- 54:50Speaker 1: should be. Does that make sense? Did I say that?
- 54:53Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 54:54Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, you need to be able to predict what
- 54:56Speaker 5: information is.
- 54:57Speaker 1: So like, I feel like the hierarchy of needs and
- 55:02Speaker 1: altered is like card draw the information, right, the active
- 55:08Speaker 1: player is whoever is you know, first player has such
- 55:13Speaker 1: is at quite a bit of a disadvantage. I feel
- 55:15Speaker 1: a lot of the time, unless unless you're a.
- 55:20Speaker 3: But like in which case you're not really the first player.
- 55:22Speaker 1: So right, and I feel like just being able to
- 55:26Speaker 1: sort out I mean, I've lost a ton of games
- 55:30Speaker 1: because I don't have the card knowledge that Z does
- 55:33Speaker 1: or or any of you guys, right, And obviously that
- 55:36Speaker 1: that comes with losing games.
- 55:38Speaker 5: I've lost a game, right, and you know you gotta lose.
- 55:43Speaker 1: You gotta lose the games to be like oh okay,
- 55:45Speaker 1: and then you kind of constantly see the same thing
- 55:48Speaker 1: and eventually eventually you learn or you flip a table
- 55:51Speaker 1: like those are your really your two options?
- 55:53Speaker 5: Right?
- 55:54Speaker 1: If you never learn, you're just like why did Why
- 55:56Speaker 1: did I not see that coming? And like, but like
- 56:01Speaker 1: that information is so big, so I kind of I
- 56:05Speaker 1: don't want to say four SAT, but I was like, oh,
- 56:07Speaker 1: there's gonna be a flattening of this, right, You're gonna
- 56:10Speaker 1: kind of like three four because magic's very similar to right,
- 56:14Speaker 1: like magic, like you want to stay in that three
- 56:17Speaker 1: four range, right, and then maybe you have like some
- 56:20Speaker 1: larger closers right in the end. Maybe not all the time,
- 56:24Speaker 1: like most times though, Yeah, And it's like particularly it
- 56:31Speaker 1: it's so different if we're talking about sealed, if we're
- 56:33Speaker 1: talking about constructed, and this case is about constructed, and.
- 56:35Speaker 3: Yeah, like you play a big card, you give up
- 56:39Speaker 3: so much flexibility to do that, even if the big
- 56:43Speaker 3: card is super splashy, you play that crack in and constructed.
- 56:47Speaker 3: Oh man, cracking does so many cool things.
- 56:49Speaker 1: Yeah, because there's not as there's not as many answers
- 56:51Speaker 1: in a in a limited environment as there is game
- 56:55Speaker 1: and seal right, every time limited is a whole nother
- 56:59Speaker 1: animal in any card game you play, right, because like
- 57:03Speaker 1: you don't have access to all the perfect answers. We're
- 57:06Speaker 1: in a constructive environment.
- 57:07Speaker 5: You do sometimes you might not have an answer like
- 57:10Speaker 5: you just very much.
- 57:12Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, well you could. You could extend that argument
- 57:16Speaker 3: a little bit to include the card draw thing we
- 57:18Speaker 3: talked about before, right, where if if carras your answers.
- 57:24Speaker 1: Right, you're able to flame them.
- 57:25Speaker 2: Now.
- 57:27Speaker 3: Well, but there's all the time I play games where
- 57:29Speaker 3: like my answer, I don't see it right, My my
- 57:31Speaker 3: shuffle's bad, I don't hit my my draw cards to
- 57:36Speaker 3: power through the deck, and I need a card that
- 57:38Speaker 3: I just can't get to. But most of the time,
- 57:43Speaker 3: if the difference between like people that are trying to
- 57:45Speaker 3: make decks like ATSADI work with huge cost cards that
- 57:49Speaker 3: they're gonna ramp and then they're gonna play like one
- 57:52Speaker 3: big card to turn, it's just tough.
- 57:57Speaker 7: Well because the bad like the reason why it's so
- 57:59Speaker 7: bad typically in this game is like Let's say I
- 58:02Speaker 7: do play some gigantic creature with all my man and
- 58:07Speaker 7: I'm gonna win both lanes no matter what they do.
- 58:09Speaker 5: I obviously had to play that pretty early in that round,
- 58:13Speaker 5: like first or second time.
- 58:15Speaker 7: I went to act quite often the first time, which
- 58:19Speaker 7: means even if my opponent can't win the lane either lane,
- 58:24Speaker 7: then they just hold all of their cards and then
- 58:26Speaker 7: they kick might ask the next turn what it's It's
- 58:30Speaker 7: a rough situation to play these big costing cards unless
- 58:34Speaker 7: they're literally to close out the game.
- 58:39Speaker 5: Because they just that just gives them cards.
- 58:41Speaker 1: All right, are we ready to move into the marketplace search?
- 58:45Speaker 5: Yeah? You got you got you gotta stay with me,
- 58:48Speaker 5: I got I got you today? Where we got for
- 58:50Speaker 5: reach out?
- 58:51Speaker 1: Well, hold on, hold on, let's let's let's play a game, right,
- 58:54Speaker 1: Let's have a little fun with this. So where do
- 58:57Speaker 1: you guys think a booster box of the Kickstarter booster
- 59:04Speaker 1: box is the Kickstarter?
- 59:06Speaker 5: Is that we've been holding one one for a long
- 59:10Speaker 5: time now last week?
- 59:13Speaker 1: Yeah, kind of keeping my eye on this.
- 59:15Speaker 4: So one seventy five is my bit.
- 59:18Speaker 1: One seventy five. Okay, I'm gonna say.
- 59:20Speaker 3: At one fifty five, I'm gonna keep it.
- 59:22Speaker 1: Firty five okay.
- 59:24Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm going with what we've been at one fifty.
- 59:26Speaker 1: It's one fifty okay. So my guess is that gamers
- 59:31Speaker 1: Guild is out because the top search comes up for
- 59:36Speaker 1: game Nerds and more at one sixty ninety seven.
- 59:40Speaker 2: On the way up.
- 59:41Speaker 1: Yep.
- 59:42Speaker 5: Yeah, that is a that's going up.
- 59:44Speaker 7: And that's what I said last week is like that's
- 59:46Speaker 7: that price, like one fifty for a kickstarter, Like, given
- 59:51Speaker 7: the market rate of certain uniques and the certain rares
- 59:54Speaker 7: that are in Bravos and Bravos Ortis and Axiom, like,
- 1:00:02Speaker 7: you are almost guaranteed them open more than one hundred
- 1:00:05Speaker 7: and fifty dollars in value by just cracking the thirty
- 1:00:08Speaker 7: seven packs if you wanted to do the word to
- 1:00:11Speaker 7: sell them.
- 1:00:12Speaker 5: I think that still holds true for what what's the
- 1:00:15Speaker 5: new price?
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: What one's seventy? Basically?
- 1:00:19Speaker 5: Yeah, like we literally just did to break me, wasn't me?
- 1:00:24Speaker 5: Good job? Go col go cold?
- 1:00:27Speaker 7: Yeah, So like we just did a faction break moments
- 1:00:31Speaker 7: before that. We started this cas today and Oger opened
- 1:00:35Speaker 7: a card that's probably worth alone in the one fifty
- 1:00:39Speaker 7: ndred dollars range, and then the rest of us got
- 1:00:41Speaker 7: a whole bunch of rares. Market value for every rare
- 1:00:43Speaker 7: is roughly two dollars right now, and then there's some
- 1:00:45Speaker 7: that are like ten to twenty because of meta like
- 1:00:49Speaker 7: it is really hard to open randomly any Kickstarter box
- 1:00:55Speaker 7: since they have more rares and more uniques that is
- 1:00:58Speaker 7: going to be under.
- 1:00:59Speaker 5: Two hundred fifty dollars were a total value.
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: All right, and for just a standard box where you
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: guys think we're we're at eighty four last week. I
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: believe it was like eighty four.
- 1:01:08Speaker 5: I don't see any reason for it to change for
- 1:01:10Speaker 5: a while now.
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: So whatever it was last week is my guess is
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: unless the ply starts running low. I mean, that's the
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: only reason why we go up right, I'm going to
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: go about ninety for retail, Yeah, eighty nine.
- 1:01:21Speaker 4: Ninety nine.
- 1:01:23Speaker 3: I cheated on this one. I go eighty three the
- 1:01:25Speaker 3: Gamers Skilled site to verify the last thing we were
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: looking at.
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: So yeah, what is Gamers Guild? I don't even see
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: them here anymore.
- 1:01:32Speaker 3: So the first thing I'm going to say is that
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: you are correct. They are out of stock on ks.
- 1:01:36Speaker 7: So oh wow, yeah, So yeah, if Gamers Guilds out
- 1:01:41Speaker 7: of stock, I do think that next week we're going
- 1:01:43Speaker 7: to see another spike in the Kickstarter.
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: Right now, the cheapest I could find for beyond the
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: gates Simo Games dot Com and more seventy nine ninety nine,
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: so a little cheaper than one.
- 1:01:59Speaker 5: Yeah, that's all really really cheap. That is, that is
- 1:02:04Speaker 5: less than an online retailer can buy it for.
- 1:02:07Speaker 4: I think I said eighty nine. I thought it would
- 1:02:09Speaker 4: go up a little man.
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: Yeah, so yeah, gg still got it for eighty five.
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: So yeah, I will say I still see them in
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: eighty four and change, So yeah, pick them up. I
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: guess why you can, especially for the for the Kickstarter
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: edition the Kickstarter.
- 1:02:28Speaker 5: Yeah, that's still a great deal.
- 1:02:29Speaker 7: Like, I'm not one to do a lot of work
- 1:02:32Speaker 7: to sell sequels in my current age, but if I
- 1:02:35Speaker 7: were like younger and I wanted the second Dairy Game
- 1:02:39Speaker 7: of like play the market because like that's a that's
- 1:02:42Speaker 7: kind of fun to some people, Like they only make
- 1:02:44Speaker 7: twenty four opening product twenty four, Yeah that might because
- 1:02:49Speaker 7: like last week, Gamers Guild had what we say it
- 1:02:53Speaker 7: was like in the eighties, and we were like they
- 1:02:55Speaker 7: should people.
- 1:02:56Speaker 5: Should buy this because it's definitely worth more than that.
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: They had, like I say, the same thing they had
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: like eighty two of the Kickstarter version, I believe.
- 1:03:05Speaker 7: Yeah, And if this one I was like twenty six
- 1:03:07Speaker 7: of the at one seventy, I think. I think if
- 1:03:11Speaker 7: you were literally just trying to make money off of
- 1:03:13Speaker 7: selling singles and altered, you could buy all of those
- 1:03:16Speaker 7: and make all of that money back plus probably twenty
- 1:03:19Speaker 7: percent easily.
- 1:03:20Speaker 3: That sounds like my nightmare.
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: I don't want to do that.
- 1:03:26Speaker 5: I am not gonna do that.
- 1:03:28Speaker 7: But if I'm sure there's someone out there and then hey,
- 1:03:31Speaker 7: maybe you pop whatever you were looking for and then
- 1:03:33Speaker 7: still make all your money back.
- 1:03:34Speaker 5: Who knows?
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: Actually eyeballing this Either.
- 1:03:37Speaker 5: Way, you'll have lots of fun opening the packs.
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: I'm eyeballing this. All the Heroes collection on on eBay
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: for seventeen dollars. I might just pull the trigger.
- 1:03:50Speaker 3: What No, we could just send you with that.
- 1:03:54Speaker 7: Just every week to do a faction break with us
- 1:03:56Speaker 7: and choose a different faction each week.
- 1:03:58Speaker 3: With the week I promise you we have soupy, I
- 1:04:01Speaker 3: can give you all the Heroes.
- 1:04:02Speaker 7: I do not care, no no what you just do
- 1:04:05Speaker 7: a fact you will get like six of them per
- 1:04:08Speaker 7: faction break or whatever. Just do a faction break every week,
- 1:04:11Speaker 7: can choose a different hero.
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: Are they not a foil that came in the Kickstarter
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: and all.
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, we have so many.
- 1:04:20Speaker 5: Yeah we will, we will every we just we just
- 1:04:24Speaker 5: opened the thirty seven foiled Heroes.
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: Just now, Oh really, there's a foil here on each pack?
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: Yeah, every pack. That's why, except for the gold packs.
- 1:04:36Speaker 5: There was so much more valuable. There's a lot of
- 1:04:38Speaker 5: value Baked.
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: I did not realize all the heroes. I thought they
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: came as like a separate side piece. I didn't realize
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: they were in the box.
- 1:04:45Speaker 3: Now, don't p s a to all the people that
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: might be listening, do not let the Like I've seen it,
- 1:04:51Speaker 3: some of them are pretty fair. Like I would say,
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: a full hero set for fifteen bucks in Foil if
- 1:04:57Speaker 3: you care about Shiny, probably that's worth it. But like,
- 1:05:00Speaker 3: do not fall for the other big crazy number sales
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: for them. Like somebody in your community has way more
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: foiled heroes than they know what to do with. And
- 1:05:12Speaker 3: if you ask them nicely, I almost can guarantee you
- 1:05:15Speaker 3: they will give you the hero that you care about
- 1:05:17Speaker 3: in Foil, if not all of them, I hand mine
- 1:05:20Speaker 3: out all the time.
- 1:05:23Speaker 5: Yeah, we have a lot of them. If you want
- 1:05:26Speaker 5: to sell for fifteen dollars, you could also just DM me.
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: Off'n say the same thing. If Dexter is on his
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: way up the KFC, I will send him a full spet.
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: You just send us fifteen dollars, Wookie, We'll make it happen.
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: Oh my god, just for you, for you, for you, Wookie,
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: I'll do twenty.
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: Okay, Oh geez, what an asshole. I don't realize you
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: just added five dollars or just like the asshole automatical
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: and you're like five now, okay, cool, I'll.
- 1:06:01Speaker 4: Give you two of each for fifteen. How about that?
- 1:06:03Speaker 3: Oh Jesus, we got you, rookie.
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: They're trying to take me over the coals?
- 1:06:11Speaker 5: All right?
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: Where are we events? We had events with Cole? What
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: do we got?
- 1:06:16Speaker 2: All right?
- 1:06:17Speaker 4: So I think the way we do this is we
- 1:06:20Speaker 4: start with just listing out some events to have on
- 1:06:23Speaker 4: your radar, and then we'll save the best for last,
- 1:06:27Speaker 4: which is our own ace tournament. I will say, if
- 1:06:32Speaker 4: you have not gone over to altered Corner dot com yet,
- 1:06:37Speaker 4: do that. I just put the tournament results page live
- 1:06:41Speaker 4: on the website. But we'll dive into that.
- 1:06:44Speaker 5: In a moment.
- 1:06:46Speaker 4: As for other events, as always joined the Altered Corner discord.
- 1:06:52Speaker 4: For your locals in DFW, Houston, San Antonio, and Austin.
- 1:06:59Speaker 4: You keep trying of anything and everything we can in
- 1:07:03Speaker 4: the pins of each metro. There's not anything too new
- 1:07:10Speaker 4: propping up from what I've seen, so it's just your usuals.
- 1:07:13Speaker 4: We've already mentioned. However, Agis does do a different type event.
- 1:07:20Speaker 5: Each week, and I believe this week's is sealed right, Yes,
- 1:07:25Speaker 5: it is and a good thing. We thank them for
- 1:07:27Speaker 5: sponsoring our events. We love you, Julio. We're gonna go.
- 1:07:33Speaker 2: We're gonna get it sorted out. If it's agus or
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: igus or whatever.
- 1:07:37Speaker 5: Tomorrow was there last week.
- 1:07:41Speaker 2: We know we didn't talk about.
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: You know, we talked about it's gonna be like, Oh,
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: it's pronounced Philip, Like what the fuck?
- 1:07:47Speaker 4: I think just based on where we are, it's probably
- 1:07:51Speaker 4: it's probably Aegis. But I apologize if we've been wrong.
- 1:07:56Speaker 5: Leoh yeah, if.
- 1:07:57Speaker 4: You're in Houston and you want different event each week,
- 1:08:02Speaker 4: or just go to a cool shop and play with
- 1:08:04Speaker 4: some of the people in the community, definitely check Asus
- 1:08:08Speaker 4: Creative Company out. Then yes, sorry, every every Saturday. It's
- 1:08:15Speaker 4: just so much easier to join the Discord. But now
- 1:08:18Speaker 4: also the website has all the events if you are
- 1:08:21Speaker 4: not a Discord user, so excellent. Other than local to
- 1:08:26Speaker 4: Texas and uh local events. We had a wall on Wednesday.
- 1:08:34Speaker 4: Simon had a work event, so I actually was the
- 1:08:39Speaker 4: main admin in charge of a wall.
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: I literally went a wall.
- 1:08:45Speaker 4: Because Simon forgot to give me privileges to ping at
- 1:08:51Speaker 4: rolls and so I just started screaming in the Discord.
- 1:08:55Speaker 5: A bunch.
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: Were talking at all caps and I enjoyed it, like, man,
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: he must be just like something's going happen.
- 1:09:04Speaker 4: That's that was just my energy. I I also think
- 1:09:09Speaker 4: that people shouldn't need pings for every round and they
- 1:09:13Speaker 4: should just pay attention. But you know, I had fun
- 1:09:18Speaker 4: with it. We saw kind of an upset in the
- 1:09:25Speaker 4: A Wall last week. So A Wall is an online tournament.
- 1:09:30Speaker 4: It's on Wednesday nights. It is a Swiss so we
- 1:09:34Speaker 4: usually play about six rounds as of now. And the
- 1:09:39Speaker 4: upset wasn't that someone other than Waru One. The upset
- 1:09:43Speaker 4: was the player was different, and it was Chaos, who
- 1:09:50Speaker 4: was piloting a friend's deck who has chased down some
- 1:09:56Speaker 4: very disgusting uniques. So the real the real winner the
- 1:10:00Speaker 4: night was a couple really gross robin Hood uniques and
- 1:10:05Speaker 4: a Sandman Unique that also had a robin Hood effect
- 1:10:11Speaker 4: on it built. So yeah, there there was some triple
- 1:10:15Speaker 4: taxing going on there. WARU in first place and traced
- 1:10:21Speaker 4: in second place on it at a wall this week.
- 1:10:26Speaker 4: And then for events that are not US in France,
- 1:10:31Speaker 4: there's going to be another big Ludo trotter tournament. I
- 1:10:36Speaker 4: just want to mention real quick what you get for
- 1:10:39Speaker 4: this tournament ticket, and I am extremely jealous. So for
- 1:10:43Speaker 4: thirty five funny money, you get three retail boosters in English,
- 1:10:49Speaker 4: two retail boosters in French, one promo booster, five Vought
- 1:10:56Speaker 4: vouchers whatever that is, entry into the event which is
- 1:11:00Speaker 4: TCG Kingdom, and one playmat and then you can play in.
- 1:11:05Speaker 5: The wow one incredible dollars.
- 1:11:11Speaker 8: Yeah, even without the play mat, that's a great deal.
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: Do you have to touch somebody through a hole or
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: something or in less thirty five dollars?
- 1:11:22Speaker 3: Well, thirty five thirty five euro right.
- 1:11:24Speaker 8: It's US. It's like forty dollars.
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: Even then forty bucks.
- 1:11:30Speaker 4: Yeah, and there's also prizing for top one twenty eight.
- 1:11:35Speaker 5: So yeah, wait, wait, great, I want Wokie to hear
- 1:11:39Speaker 5: what you just said real clear.
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: Yeah, how many people get how many people get prizing
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: for top one twenty eight? I'm aware? Yes, yes, I know?
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: And what what kind of card event would even have
- 1:11:51Speaker 2: one hundred and twenty eight players?
- 1:11:53Speaker 7: My goodness, there's a certain game someone told me recently
- 1:11:56Speaker 7: wasn't dead.
- 1:11:57Speaker 5: I don't even think they have one hundred and twenty
- 1:11:59Speaker 5: players have more.
- 1:12:00Speaker 8: Than we're gonna have, like one hundred and fifty.
- 1:12:03Speaker 5: That's that's your world of it.
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: That's your entire host of players at our world's event
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: right now?
- 1:12:09Speaker 5: Are the top one hundred and twenty world?
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: Help listen, this is just where world is held. This
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: is a complete celebration of the card game. Okay, so
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: why don't you go ahead to sit down on your
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: high house over there in Texas.
- 1:12:23Speaker 4: Okay, I hate to tell Wookie, but the prizing is
- 1:12:26Speaker 4: for top one twenty eight. But I believe the cap
- 1:12:29Speaker 4: is either two fifty six or five twelve.
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: It is, I think, but they're going by hard drive sizes.
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: Now what the hell?
- 1:12:40Speaker 4: I am translating a website from French to English, but
- 1:12:44Speaker 4: I don't think the ticket information could be wrong.
- 1:12:48Speaker 3: I think it really is just that good of a deal.
- 1:12:50Speaker 2: Are you sure it wasn't like four hundred, it's forty five,
- 1:12:55Speaker 2: it's thirty five YEARO. Yeah, I'm looking at it to Eve.
- 1:12:57Speaker 2: They're prizing like, yes, he said, the prising starts at
- 1:13:02Speaker 2: the top one twenty eight, but the prizing for the
- 1:13:04Speaker 2: top player.
- 1:13:05Speaker 3: Tell me about top sixteen, Tell me about give me
- 1:13:07Speaker 3: the top sixteen breakdown, Zach, what are we getting here?
- 1:13:09Speaker 3: Let's say I go and kill it and I make
- 1:13:12Speaker 3: it the top sixteen fourteen.
- 1:13:14Speaker 2: You got twenty four retail boosters and believes it's in
- 1:13:17Speaker 2: English and two promo boosters. If you take the entire thing,
- 1:13:22Speaker 2: you get two English retail displays, you get one French
- 1:13:28Speaker 2: retail display, one display Kickstarter France, four booster promos, fifty
- 1:13:34Speaker 2: euro card market vouchers, and a guest invitation to twenty
- 1:13:37Speaker 2: twenty five That is a flight price seven.
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: Can you dumb threading to me? Please? Oh?
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: I absolutely yes. I will put it in for.
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: A certain person on another one of my shows who's like,
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: it's not the same, it's just not the shame and
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: it's like, but it fucking is you dumb dumb. It's
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: exactly the same. This is tah no, no, hold on,
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: I ain't done bitching yet. Listen, listen to your fucking
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: ghost galaxy and your bullshit event. All right, this is
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: what a tiny company can do. They have like seven
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: people and their French, so that's really like three and
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: a half people, right, and these guys or whatever, it's
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: seven people. I'm just fucking around. I do not I
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: do not sign on to the I'm just fucking around
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: because I'm American. But literally, fucking seven people, seven people
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: and a baguette are fucking fueling this company, and this
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: company ables to somehow figure it the fuck out. Get
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: off your end, do some fucking work. Get a better
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: game designer, because the one you have, God, it's okay.
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: They're not gonna listen to this. It's altered, carm altered.
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: What's that? It wouldn't be a competitive card game that's
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: actively taking market share away from us?
- 1:14:57Speaker 6: Is it.
- 1:15:01Speaker 2: Okay? Okay? Because there's there's still more.
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: I don't want to hear the rest what I do.
- 1:15:08Speaker 2: There are actual, factual prize supported side events Sunday, win
- 1:15:15Speaker 2: a box in front, win a box, French retail box.
- 1:15:18Speaker 2: There's another registration for that Winnie Box Kickstarter edition. There's
- 1:15:21Speaker 2: a registration for that drapped in and sealed packaging. Wow,
- 1:15:26Speaker 2: different events that are.
- 1:15:28Speaker 5: This will probably be better attended than worlds.
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: Well they do, they are. They are limited to five dollars.
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: Five do not not one of the side events. What
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: are the what's a flight?
- 1:15:47Speaker 2: I was gonna say, the registration for these side events
- 1:15:50Speaker 2: there's twenty two euros, twenty five euros.
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: Like it's like, when is this event going down? I
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: got to book my tickets. You want to go to France,
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: You're gonna have to fly right now, like go to
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: the airport or is it like this weekend or something?
- 1:16:05Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 1:16:06Speaker 3: Yeah, rough estimate. You have to get to Paris for
- 1:16:10Speaker 3: seven hundred dollars.
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: That's actually not I mean it sounds sounds like just
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: signing up for forty dollars, I'm still probably getting close
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: to my money's worth.
- 1:16:21Speaker 3: So so this time next year, I'll we fill in
- 1:16:24Speaker 3: an episode of Altered Corner goes to France.
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: Yeah, why not?
- 1:16:29Speaker 7: Sounds fine because by then we're gonna have three hundred
- 1:16:32Speaker 7: patreons and bye.
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: By then, I mean I'll take my wife. It'll make
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: her happy, right, she sipped mine too. Yeah, right, and
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: what woman?
- 1:16:43Speaker 2: Right now?
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: My partner right now is gonna be like, oh I
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: don't want to go to France. No never.
- 1:16:48Speaker 4: Well, I apologize for just listing out this incredible deal.
- 1:16:53Speaker 3: And I need to correct myself. This the event is
- 1:16:56Speaker 3: in is it? Leon?
- 1:16:58Speaker 5: Is that how you saying?
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: Leon?
- 1:17:00Speaker 4: That is a good point.
- 1:17:02Speaker 3: I don't know where it's there. It's like an additional
- 1:17:05Speaker 3: five hundred dollars over flying into France.
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: Frances.
- 1:17:12Speaker 5: Harrie Nordville.
- 1:17:16Speaker 4: It's part of the l roy m Do TCG, which
- 1:17:21Speaker 4: is the Kingdom of TCG and it's I guess Europe's
- 1:17:25Speaker 4: largest TCG event.
- 1:17:28Speaker 3: Nice. Well, we could probably find like a small country
- 1:17:31Speaker 3: not far from there to fly into for dirt cheap
- 1:17:34Speaker 3: and then just like catch a train.
- 1:17:35Speaker 4: Right Yeah, it's fifteen minutes from the Paris Charlat do
- 1:17:41Speaker 4: Gall airport, Charlie do Go.
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: They don't even have some shitty alternate set they're giving away.
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: It's just like here's product of the game you're playing
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: right now that doesn't suck.
- 1:17:52Speaker 4: It is It is a good a good sign for
- 1:17:55Speaker 4: things to come.
- 1:17:56Speaker 3: I am stoked for have things like this over us side.
- 1:18:02Speaker 3: If anybody to be on.
- 1:18:03Speaker 7: Their count though, So they originally had it at two
- 1:18:07Speaker 7: fifty six. They raised it to five twelve because they
- 1:18:11Speaker 7: needed to. That's what that's what they have for many
- 1:18:14Speaker 7: people wanting to play.
- 1:18:15Speaker 2: The first one they had at one twenty eight and
- 1:18:16Speaker 2: then they had to go up to one or to
- 1:18:18Speaker 2: ten twenty four.
- 1:18:19Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:18:19Speaker 3: Yeah, like every time they set a limit on this thing,
- 1:18:23Speaker 3: they it sells out. Rest But like this is also.
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: Overseas two right, Like nothing against it, right, Like, I mean,
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: the overseas community, especially for this game is massive. You
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: guys are blessed down by you to have a community.
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: I literally, like I said, you guys have seen what's
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: running in my area. Now, Wisconsin kind of just sucks
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: as a whole because you know, like if it ain't
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: if it ain't magic, nobody cares, you know, So like any.
- 1:18:56Speaker 5: Game that's a lot of areas, though actually.
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: It is a lot of areas. But even like card
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: games that are doing well like One Piece and I'm
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: trying to think that lor Kana, like all these card
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: games that are doing well right, like they don't even
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: get like local attention either.
- 1:19:14Speaker 3: So yeah, in fairness, we did, we really struggled in Houston. Like,
- 1:19:19Speaker 3: if it wasn't for Julio kind of deciding that he
- 1:19:23Speaker 3: was going to step up for us, we weren't able
- 1:19:27Speaker 3: to get any traction anywhere. And you know, we're still
- 1:19:31Speaker 3: like we're small, We're not a big community. There's not
- 1:19:33Speaker 3: that many of us that show up to the weeklies.
- 1:19:36Speaker 3: I hope that it gets that way, and I hope
- 1:19:39Speaker 3: that just general guys run the really early, just saying well,
- 1:19:44Speaker 3: we're all old people.
- 1:19:48Speaker 4: The Houston ones are early, but the rest are.
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: Usually I am the same age as you guys, and
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: I don't know you're the same age as me, Wikie.
- 1:19:57Speaker 3: Not you're weren age as as the cast nomad. If
- 1:20:03Speaker 3: they weren't early, I would really struggle because even when
- 1:20:07Speaker 3: I when we finish, like and if I want to
- 1:20:10Speaker 3: sit around and visit and kind of chat for a
- 1:20:11Speaker 3: little bit, maybe get a couple of trades in, I'm
- 1:20:14Speaker 3: still not making it home until six thirty seven thirty.
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: I was saying that I was saying for the online ones,
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: not the in personal ones.
- 1:20:23Speaker 7: Oh yeah, I guess I was considering changing the start
- 1:20:28Speaker 7: time to like six thirty for a season two.
- 1:20:30Speaker 5: But we're European.
- 1:20:32Speaker 8: I'm looking at like play too, and that hurts.
- 1:20:35Speaker 5: I am not worried about that.
- 1:20:38Speaker 4: Yeah, there's there's already enough people complaining about that in
- 1:20:42Speaker 4: a wall and it's already another tangent I don't want
- 1:20:47Speaker 4: to get on.
- 1:20:48Speaker 7: But there's plenty of people to play in Europe that
- 1:20:51Speaker 7: could host European time events, right, Like, that's that's not
- 1:20:54Speaker 7: we're not.
- 1:20:54Speaker 4: Going to We we love having all of you, but
- 1:20:58Speaker 4: if we're hosting it for free entry on our time
- 1:21:03Speaker 4: live in our time zone, it's just it is what
- 1:21:06Speaker 4: it is. But for anything somewhat close to that French tournament,
- 1:21:15Speaker 4: altered will be at Packed Some Plugged. I'm sure we'll
- 1:21:18Speaker 4: talk about it a little more in depth on a
- 1:21:20Speaker 4: future episode, but here is your warning now. There will
- 1:21:24Speaker 4: be like booster drafts, there will be constructed events, there
- 1:21:28Speaker 4: will be ways to get and keep product. So if
- 1:21:32Speaker 4: you're not considering going to Pack Some Plugged, maybe think
- 1:21:37Speaker 4: about it now and get further into it, and in
- 1:21:40Speaker 4: November pack some plugged. Yep, December sixth through the eighth.
- 1:21:45Speaker 3: Have you have you any of you guys ever gone
- 1:21:47Speaker 3: to unplugged?
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: Well, I've never been in October, didn't it?
- 1:21:53Speaker 5: No, it was always been in Thember as far as
- 1:21:55Speaker 5: I know, or.
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: Maybe it was just pass in general, they are, but
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: it wasn't the November.
- 1:22:02Speaker 2: Was it.
- 1:22:04Speaker 5: Was it Amber?
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: Okay? Yep, I could just be wrong. It's been a while.
- 1:22:11Speaker 2: Yep.
- 1:22:11Speaker 4: Yeah, I'll be there altered, will be there all right.
- 1:22:15Speaker 3: Ninety one bucks for a three day badge plus however
- 1:22:19Speaker 3: much it costs to get to Pennsylvania. I'm assuming it's
- 1:22:21Speaker 3: not because airfare.
- 1:22:22Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, my ticket to not have an extremely shitty flight.
- 1:22:31Speaker 4: I think I paid a total of one sixty what.
- 1:22:37Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a pretty deep play. How the heck did
- 1:22:40Speaker 3: you arrange that?
- 1:22:41Speaker 8: Yeah? That seems like a really cheap flight Pennsylvania.
- 1:22:48Speaker 2: I have known I was going for a bit, and.
- 1:22:55Speaker 4: I don't have like checked bags or anything. Uh and
- 1:23:00Speaker 4: I don't know I have Like flights out of Dallas
- 1:23:04Speaker 4: are always really well priced. My ticket to go to
- 1:23:07Speaker 4: gen Con was like one hundred and twenty.
- 1:23:10Speaker 3: Oh wow, I don't understand that because flying out of
- 1:23:14Speaker 3: Houston is three ever that cheap?
- 1:23:17Speaker 4: Yeah, that's why for anyway, companies, companies really need to
- 1:23:23Speaker 4: stop sleeping on THEFWS an area to not only hold
- 1:23:28Speaker 4: events but also hire people from there, because it's a
- 1:23:33Speaker 4: very good travel hub, like I don't have many issues
- 1:23:36Speaker 4: getting most places.
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: Yeah, it don't sound like it sounds like you do
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: just fine.
- 1:23:44Speaker 5: All right, but we're not done, no, so ace maybe
- 1:23:50Speaker 5: all right? So yeah, we have our championship event queue up.
- 1:23:55Speaker 7: So Tuesday, the day you're listening to this, if you're
- 1:23:58Speaker 7: freshly listening to it, we are preparing for that six pm.
- 1:24:02Speaker 5: It's not open public.
- 1:24:04Speaker 7: We had sixteen people qualify throughout the season, and I
- 1:24:09Speaker 7: have their names there.
- 1:24:11Speaker 5: This is actually like.
- 1:24:12Speaker 7: Their rank as far as entering our championship tournament. Our
- 1:24:16Speaker 7: first seed is Pluca, second seed is myself. Third seed,
- 1:24:20Speaker 7: we've got the Keelon guy. Fourth seed we've got beltez
- 1:24:24Speaker 7: Chezar or he has another name in discord, it's like
- 1:24:27Speaker 7: not a pat or something. Fifth, we've got one of
- 1:24:32Speaker 7: our euro people, I think Sylvain. And then sixth we've
- 1:24:36Speaker 7: got Zared, seventh, one of Colescal's l e oh. Eighth,
- 1:24:42Speaker 7: we've got Sabront I think he's also Europe. Ninth, we've
- 1:24:47Speaker 7: got Maddox. Tenth place, we've got Noble Zach good job,
- 1:24:53Speaker 7: and then right next to them eleventh we've got ober
- 1:24:56Speaker 7: Row and then back to back to well we have
- 1:25:00Speaker 7: got Dexter who wheezed in there as well. And then
- 1:25:05Speaker 7: our last four slots start closing us out are Evron, Achlo,
- 1:25:08Speaker 7: Boston Beaver, which is another Houston local, and Eco. That
- 1:25:14Speaker 7: is our top sixteen. So congratulations with everyone who made it.
- 1:25:17Speaker 7: It's gonna be uh it's still.
- 1:25:19Speaker 3: Boston Beaver was a Houston local. Sorry, I didn't mean
- 1:25:22Speaker 3: to interrupt.
- 1:25:22Speaker 5: He has never come to the store.
- 1:25:24Speaker 7: I expected him to be more active, but I haven't
- 1:25:27Speaker 7: seen him actually show up to anything yet.
- 1:25:29Speaker 8: He has two kids. He says he's always busy. Whatever.
- 1:25:33Speaker 4: Yeah, Keelan guy is in Switzerland by the way, Okay, okay.
- 1:25:40Speaker 2: Yep, so.
- 1:25:42Speaker 4: Yeah, finishes at like two am or three am.
- 1:25:45Speaker 7: So yeah, they they all confirm their playing in this.
- 1:25:50Speaker 7: It is going to be more along the timeframe of
- 1:25:52Speaker 7: like what AWA runs like roughly like four to five
- 1:25:56Speaker 7: ish hours to finish it because it is best of three,
- 1:26:00Speaker 7: so we're gonna see how that works. If it does,
- 1:26:02Speaker 7: it up meaning a little clunkier long, we might switch
- 1:26:04Speaker 7: back to best of one for our next season championship,
- 1:26:07Speaker 7: but we're going to try out the best of three
- 1:26:09Speaker 7: because that's something that has been talked about in different
- 1:26:12Speaker 7: places quite a bit as far as like the higher
- 1:26:14Speaker 7: level events being the best of three things when it
- 1:26:17Speaker 7: comes out of the finals. So I guess we'll get
- 1:26:18Speaker 7: to see how that works on Tuesday. But yeah, we've
- 1:26:22Speaker 7: got lots of people qualified. And then I believe you
- 1:26:27Speaker 7: Cole and Zach took some data on this, so talk
- 1:26:30Speaker 7: to us about what we saw over the season.
- 1:26:33Speaker 4: Yeah, Zach did most of the work, but as I
- 1:26:37Speaker 4: mentioned earlier, it is up on the website to see
- 1:26:41Speaker 4: the top eight hero breakdown for each four weeks of play,
- 1:26:46Speaker 4: and then just some general information. I'm also going to
- 1:26:50Speaker 4: put who the season one champ is and what their
- 1:26:53Speaker 4: deck list was if you want more expansive decklists for
- 1:26:59Speaker 4: more placements. As we've mentioned before, Tom does thirty nine
- 1:27:04Speaker 4: cards dot com, so go over there real quick.
- 1:27:08Speaker 2: Though.
- 1:27:08Speaker 4: For season two teaser, I did the judging of time.
- 1:27:13Speaker 4: Season two should start first week of December. Does that
- 1:27:16Speaker 4: sound right?
- 1:27:17Speaker 5: Yeah? I think we're aiming at to the third of
- 1:27:21Speaker 5: December is our start, But we've got some time.
- 1:27:25Speaker 7: Between now and then, so before we close out the
- 1:27:28Speaker 7: cast and then we keep forgetting about this, he just
- 1:27:30Speaker 7: has sponsored our a championship. I no, we've mentioned a
- 1:27:33Speaker 7: couple of times, but he donated a whole retail box
- 1:27:35Speaker 7: that is helping out of the Prising.
- 1:27:37Speaker 5: There was no fee for to enter this tournament, so
- 1:27:40Speaker 5: many of our top contenders.
- 1:27:41Speaker 7: Actually, if they make it out around one, everyone that
- 1:27:44Speaker 7: makes at least top eight is going to get some
- 1:27:48Speaker 7: degree of booster peck Prising. So thank you again for
- 1:27:52Speaker 7: just supporting not only our local community in Houston, but
- 1:27:55Speaker 7: our online community here.
- 1:27:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:27:58Speaker 5: Great, great guy.
- 1:28:00Speaker 7: If you don't do anything else, if you come, induce
- 1:28:01Speaker 7: and go buy. Say hi to Julio even if we're
- 1:28:03Speaker 7: not running a game. He just creative company.
- 1:28:06Speaker 3: Very very I'm going to extend the shout out to
- 1:28:09Speaker 3: Hulo just a little bit. This past weekend, I got
- 1:28:12Speaker 3: an opportunity to get back out to Houston. You know,
- 1:28:14Speaker 3: I I am the nomad, so I don't get to
- 1:28:17Speaker 3: go every week. And there we didn't get a big turnout,
- 1:28:21Speaker 3: but a couple of diehard friends shaped like Zach and
- 1:28:26Speaker 3: Dexter did make it out to hang out with me
- 1:28:29Speaker 3: and Juliu also made his inaugural run with US and
- 1:28:36Speaker 3: took a win off of Waru, first day he'd ever
- 1:28:42Speaker 3: played into a Waru first of all. Second with Subash.
- 1:28:52Speaker 2: It was awesome.
- 1:28:53Speaker 3: It was so cool to see and I think it
- 1:28:56Speaker 3: deserves the shout out.
- 1:28:58Speaker 4: That is a very auger U style shout out. As
- 1:29:02Speaker 4: for data, I mean, I think I really think the
- 1:29:08Speaker 4: meta is shifting. Unfortunately, it's very very slow.
- 1:29:13Speaker 5: That's only shifting to you.
- 1:29:15Speaker 4: No, No, I'm I'm saying, like, looking generally over if
- 1:29:19Speaker 4: we take every tournament online and in person and we
- 1:29:23Speaker 4: kind of look at it, it is shifting, just very slowly.
- 1:29:28Speaker 4: Like even in ACE, I mean we had the traced
- 1:29:34Speaker 4: or not ACE in a wall there was Waru and
- 1:29:36Speaker 4: Traced instead.
- 1:29:37Speaker 2: Of the war and war and Wau.
- 1:29:40Speaker 7: Watched there our last two weeks in ACE, right like
- 1:29:42Speaker 7: two weeks ago, Joe Kojo one over Waru and then
- 1:29:46Speaker 7: last week the finals was Wau versus Gojo Wara one.
- 1:29:51Speaker 7: But still Kojo had like most likely had to beat
- 1:29:54Speaker 7: some Warrow to get there, and that is top spot.
- 1:29:57Speaker 5: Like that is that's pretty cool.
- 1:29:59Speaker 3: Yeah, it's exciting for me to look at a wall
- 1:30:03Speaker 3: last week and who knows what it's I don't actually
- 1:30:05Speaker 3: think it's because war is getting any worse. I think
- 1:30:08Speaker 3: it's just because people are getting a little bit tired
- 1:30:10Speaker 3: of either playing the same thing or playing into the
- 1:30:13Speaker 3: same thing maybe, and so we're seeing them experiment a
- 1:30:16Speaker 3: little bit. But I only see two Warrus in the
- 1:30:21Speaker 3: top twenty one on thirty nine cards dot Com. That's
- 1:30:26Speaker 3: not bad, Like there's some actual variety here.
- 1:30:31Speaker 4: Yeah, So, I mean looking at our tournament, it is
- 1:30:35Speaker 4: it is slow. I would say compared to that very
- 1:30:40Speaker 4: first two tournaments we saw the Gamers Guild Arizona and
- 1:30:46Speaker 4: then the first Ludo Trotter, there's a lot less Siggy
- 1:30:52Speaker 4: and there's more Kojo than as stayed consistent. But I
- 1:30:59Speaker 4: think as time goes on, people are just learning more
- 1:31:02Speaker 4: and experimenting more. And there was another event that you
- 1:31:08Speaker 4: can see on thirty nine cards dot Com as well
- 1:31:10Speaker 4: that I think it's the the Exalt Celebration. It has
- 1:31:16Speaker 4: a lot of Wardo, but it's still a little different.
- 1:31:19Speaker 4: But yeah, things are changing slowly. Was there anything that
- 1:31:24Speaker 4: stood out to you while you were hammering.
- 1:31:26Speaker 2: This data in, Zach, I mean, like you said, like
- 1:31:31Speaker 2: looking at like the top eight heroes over the four
- 1:31:34Speaker 2: weeks that we've run ACE, we have out of the
- 1:31:37Speaker 2: thirty two top eight heroes, we have war Wu at
- 1:31:40Speaker 2: ten than it's six, and Kojo at five. And those
- 1:31:43Speaker 2: are like the biggest ones. Right, there's some intersparsons of
- 1:31:45Speaker 2: some other ones for top eight, but that's what it
- 1:31:49Speaker 2: has been feeling like as far as you know. That
- 1:31:52Speaker 2: follows what we've seen, that follows what we talked about it.
- 1:31:56Speaker 2: You know, it is what it is, and it's it
- 1:32:00Speaker 2: is very interesting to see for sure. I it is.
- 1:32:03Speaker 2: It is good. I like it.
- 1:32:08Speaker 5: All right.
- 1:32:09Speaker 1: Is that gonna do us for events this week?
- 1:32:14Speaker 2: Yeah? I think I think that is.
- 1:32:16Speaker 1: That's gonna wrap it up for this week. Thank you
- 1:32:18Speaker 1: all for listening, Thank you all for listening in the
- 1:32:20Speaker 1: live chat for all those of you who popped in,
- 1:32:23Speaker 1: and we'll see y'all next week.
- 1:32:51Speaker 6: Dalling
