- 1:44Speaker 1: Let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go.
- 1:46Speaker 2: It's a story you need to hear to believe.
- 1:49Speaker 1: Then grab your popcorn because there is more idis There's
- 1:55Speaker 1: a bunch today, and I wanted to start with this,
- 2:00Speaker 1: this conversation about Trump where he's saying that he wants
- 2:04Speaker 1: to meet with Vladimir Putin. I don't know what he
- 2:09Speaker 1: thinks that meaning is going to bring, but I knowing
- 2:12Speaker 1: Trump as we do, it would make sense that he
- 2:15Speaker 1: wants to look a guy in the eye. So Trump
- 2:18Speaker 1: is floating this meeting, saying there's a good chance he
- 2:20Speaker 1: would meet with Putin about the war in Ukraine to
- 2:23Speaker 1: put an end to it. And some people are now
- 2:25Speaker 1: getting to the place of, well, Trump, might you know,
- 2:27Speaker 1: give up the ghost on Ukraine and be like, uh, sorry,
- 2:31Speaker 1: too bad for you, because.
- 2:32Speaker 2: Putin is being obstinate.
- 2:34Speaker 1: I don't see that as the as the case in
- 2:38Speaker 1: the slightest I don't think that that's reality.
- 2:42Speaker 2: The question is where would this meeting take place? Now.
- 2:46Speaker 1: I don't normally go to John Bolton, nor do I
- 2:49Speaker 1: go to CNN, but I thought he made a solid
- 2:53Speaker 1: point worthy of discussion.
- 2:56Speaker 2: I know, shocking, but true. It happens when he said.
- 2:59Speaker 3: This, can't think of anything better from his point of
- 3:02Speaker 3: view than to host Trump at the Kremlin, more logical
- 3:07Speaker 3: place from the US perspective to do it would be
- 3:10Speaker 3: one of the traditional meeting cities, Geneva or Vienna. It's
- 3:15Speaker 3: the logistics are difficult but not impossible, and Trump obviously
- 3:20Speaker 3: wants the meeting, so it'll be very interesting to see
- 3:24Speaker 3: what the arrangements are. But I think Putin will see
- 3:26Speaker 3: it as an opportunity. I think he knows he's deliberately
- 3:30Speaker 3: or inadvertently pushed Trump a little too far, and he'll
- 3:33Speaker 3: have some ideas about how to bring things back in
- 3:36Speaker 3: his direction.
- 3:37Speaker 2: What do you make.
- 3:38Speaker 3: Of what I was told today that it was actually
- 3:40Speaker 3: Putin who suggested this meeting with Trump when he was
- 3:44Speaker 3: meeting with Steve Wikoff. Sure, absolutely, Look is, Russia is
- 3:50Speaker 3: heavily sanctioned by the West as a whole. This is
- 3:53Speaker 3: legitimizing Putin in a way. He hasn't seen anything like
- 3:56Speaker 3: it since the February twenty four, twenty two invasion of Ukraine.
- 4:02Speaker 3: That's why Moscow for him would be the ideal place.
- 4:06Speaker 3: And he's watched how Trump dealt with Kim Jong On
- 4:10Speaker 3: in three meetings in Trump's first term meetings which produced
- 4:15Speaker 3: nothing ultimately, But he sees this as a real opportunity.
- 4:19Speaker 3: He does believe Putin does believe. I think that he
- 4:22Speaker 3: can still work his KGB training on Trump, knowing as
- 4:26Speaker 3: I say that, one way or another, deliberately or not,
- 4:29Speaker 3: he's pushed Trump a little bit beyond the envelope, and
- 4:32Speaker 3: he's going to try and rectify that and also play
- 4:35Speaker 3: a larger game with the sanctions against India, for purchasing
- 4:39Speaker 3: Russian oils, the China question up in the air. There
- 4:43Speaker 3: may be an opportunity here for Putin to advance his
- 4:46Speaker 3: agenda on a number of fronts.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Now, that's Bolton going I think way too far in
- 4:50Speaker 1: the conversation.
- 4:51Speaker 2: Let's take a step back.
- 4:53Speaker 1: Putin does believe that he could still work his KGB
- 4:56Speaker 1: training on Trump ten thousand percent accurate because it is
- 5:05Speaker 1: Bolton engaged in at least the proper assessment of what
- 5:09Speaker 1: it is Vladimir Putin is. And a lot of people
- 5:12Speaker 1: don't do this. Vladimir Putin is a trained KGB agent
- 5:19Speaker 1: who takes it personally.
- 5:23Speaker 2: That the Soviet Union.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Fell, and his entire methodology is about the rebirth, the regrowth,
- 5:31Speaker 1: the not so much with unification, although you could argue
- 5:35Speaker 1: that's why he wants all of Ukraine, or at least
- 5:39Speaker 1: the dunbas a better mother Russia for tomorrow. This is
- 5:45Speaker 1: his want. Everything about him is a lie, Everything about
- 5:50Speaker 1: him is a fraud, Everything about him is a conceit.
- 5:52Speaker 1: That's what the KGB agent is, that's what the training is,
- 5:58Speaker 1: every last bit of it. He absolutely believes that's true.
- 6:05Speaker 1: I was just happy to hear somebody actually say it
- 6:07Speaker 1: out loud, the argument of and Trump could fall for it.
- 6:16Speaker 1: So this is where the divide is because it is insulting,
- 6:21Speaker 1: beyond insulting, and gross beyond gross to think that somehow
- 6:27Speaker 1: this KGB Svengali thing is going to work on Trump
- 6:33Speaker 1: as well. Trump's weak or Trump's this or Trump's that.
- 6:36Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, no, no no no.
- 6:39Speaker 1: That's not the case. These things worked on two types
- 6:43Speaker 1: of people. One could argue, first it worked on those
- 6:48Speaker 1: who were susceptible, who were absolutely interested in what the
- 6:52Speaker 1: communists had to offer, right, that's about being supportive. Right.
- 6:56Speaker 1: Then it worked on people who had an amb ambition
- 7:00Speaker 1: beyond their desire. Trump's desire is a peace deal so
- 7:07Speaker 1: he can get accolades. He isn't The first part of
- 7:13Speaker 1: this isn't playing on an American part. It's playing on
- 7:15Speaker 1: a personal part. And that's okay because the second part
- 7:20Speaker 1: we be playing on an American part. You think Trump's
- 7:22Speaker 1: gonna put America in danger because Viti Putin's gonna be
- 7:26Speaker 1: able to pull a fast one.
- 7:27Speaker 2: To believe that is to have believed Russia Russia Russia
- 7:31Speaker 2: from the beginning.
- 7:34Speaker 1: That only works if Russia has more power and if
- 7:37Speaker 1: there's more pressure at play. If there's something extracted that
- 7:41Speaker 1: Trump thinks is more valuable than his own reputation at home,
- 7:47Speaker 1: how does that work? How could that possibly work? You've
- 7:51Speaker 1: already seen that the Russian military is a joke. These
- 7:55Speaker 1: guys can't fight. These guys don't know how to fight.
- 7:58Speaker 1: These guys don't know how to stand in a straight line.
- 8:03Speaker 1: If it wasn't for Rushi having nuclear weapons, Russia would
- 8:06Speaker 1: not exist on a map today. No chance everybody would
- 8:12Speaker 1: take that country and they'd take the oil that comes
- 8:14Speaker 1: with it. So what training is now going to somehow
- 8:22Speaker 1: work on Trump? Because Trump is weak. See that's the
- 8:25Speaker 1: part that is mythology. What is factual is that absolutely
- 8:30Speaker 1: Putin believes it. People would take something like this and say,
- 8:35Speaker 1: you see Trump is susceptible to.
- 8:37Speaker 2: X, Y and Z.
- 8:38Speaker 1: No, it's that Putin still believes that he's playing from
- 8:43Speaker 1: a position of strength and that he can utilize these
- 8:46Speaker 1: tactics to some level of advantage. Now he utilizes the
- 8:50Speaker 1: tactics when he says, oh, sure we'll talk about this
- 8:53Speaker 1: or that Donald's and he engages in bombings in Kiev
- 8:56Speaker 1: or trone attacks there on the Romanian border, as he
- 9:00Speaker 1: did the other day, et cetera.
- 9:01Speaker 2: Absolutely, But in getting the concession that you would be
- 9:11Speaker 2: a fool.
- 9:12Speaker 1: A lot of that was based on the idea of
- 9:14Speaker 1: the strength of Russia, the belief that Russia was gonna
- 9:17Speaker 1: go somewhere, that this thing that the Soviet Union had value,
- 9:20Speaker 1: there's no value there. You fell apart, You collapsed in
- 9:23Speaker 1: the most humiliating way ever. You lost to Reagan, you
- 9:29Speaker 1: lost to a movie actor. Now you're gonna lose to
- 9:32Speaker 1: a TV star. Gosh, that's a lot of embarrassment Vladimir.
- 9:38Speaker 1: But is Vladimir going to try? That's the story. It's
- 9:44Speaker 1: that he believes he can do it. He believes in
- 9:48Speaker 1: this KGB training. That's who he is to his soul.
- 9:54Speaker 1: I think it's an important understanding of what we're dealing
- 9:56Speaker 1: with in the Russian leadership.
