- 0:03Speaker 1: Some of the content of Patriots Unfiltered may not be
- 0:06Speaker 1: suitable for all audiences. Listener discretion is advised. The world's
- 0:11Speaker 1: original poet, Welcome to Patriot's Unfiltered. Devin mccordy was on
- 0:22Speaker 1: Good Morning Football. Is that what it's called? Made some
- 0:25Speaker 1: news talking about mac um? I called it a Patriots
- 0:28Speaker 1: nation pep talk. Knowing the way the Patriots operate, there's
- 0:32Speaker 1: probably some people in the room saying, let's not pay
- 0:36Speaker 1: this guy sixteen million, Let's just start over with another guy,
- 0:39Speaker 1: like Paul Perillo says, they're just loose change. Yeah, but
- 0:43Speaker 1: propaganda propping Mac Jones up by some people, I mean
- 0:46Speaker 1: like Adam Jones. Yeah, who's the dark Knight himself? I
- 0:49Speaker 1: mean what he's really good at what he does, but
- 0:52Speaker 1: I hate what he does. Chicken pot pie is underrated midwinter. Yeah,
- 0:56Speaker 1: but you can't have the chicken pop pie with the
- 0:58Speaker 1: peas and the carrots in it. The car don't put
- 1:00Speaker 1: him in my pie. I don't like peas. Keep your
- 1:03Speaker 1: peas out of my pie. Wow. Well, if you haven't noticed,
- 1:06Speaker 1: they eat out a lot. And my wife doesn't really
- 1:08Speaker 1: particularly enjoy it either because I don't cook. But I
- 1:12Speaker 1: love pie. Yeah, sure, give me a pie about laughing man,
- 1:16Speaker 1: This is Patriot's Unfiltered fueled by Duncan. All right, welcome
- 1:23Speaker 1: to PFW. I'm I'm Patriots Unfiltered. I got PFW in
- 1:29Speaker 1: my head because I got a lot of old people emailing.
- 1:32Speaker 1: That was a couple of years ago. No, no, yeah,
- 1:34Speaker 1: but you know, Megan O'Brien called in last show and
- 1:38Speaker 1: that was a great conversation we had with her, and
- 1:41Speaker 1: then people were on Twitter. Yeah. Well, I'm just about
- 1:47Speaker 1: to say. People were saying, oh, it's good to hear
- 1:48Speaker 1: from you and Megan, and she said, I missed my
- 1:51Speaker 1: PFW guys, So it was on my mind anyway. That
- 1:55Speaker 1: was fun to listen to her last show. But it's Alex,
- 1:59Speaker 1: it's Paul, it's me, It's Matt and the Booth and faith,
- 2:03Speaker 1: Faith in the booth. We'll have faith today. You gotta
- 2:06Speaker 1: have faith. Yeah, I'll bet she's never heard that one.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Deuce and Evan are out at the Combine. We'll hear
- 2:12Speaker 1: from one of them. Uh later in the show. Uh,
- 2:16Speaker 1: so that'll be good. Will get some updates. But you know,
- 2:18Speaker 1: there's a lot going on at the Combine. Uh. One
- 2:22Speaker 1: of the top picks today. Um, has maybe some legal problems.
- 2:27Speaker 1: He came out with a statement with Jalen uh Carter.
- 2:30Speaker 1: Jalen Carter. He came out with a statement just recently
- 2:34Speaker 1: saying that he's confident that he's going back there to
- 2:37Speaker 1: clear things up and it won't be a big deal.
- 2:40Speaker 1: But supposedly he's back at the combine already. Already he
- 2:43Speaker 1: went home, turn himself in yeah, quote unquote, and then
- 2:46Speaker 1: went back. Yeah. So hopefully for his sake it's not
- 2:49Speaker 1: a big deal. But um, we'll see. If it is,
- 2:53Speaker 1: then that does shake up the top of the draft
- 2:55Speaker 1: and trickles down to the Patriots. But again we'll take fourteen.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Uh yeah, of course, no, it depends. We'll see what
- 3:04Speaker 1: happened here. I don't have a pass judgment, yeah, and
- 3:07Speaker 1: I don't. I don't have all the information, so I'm
- 3:08Speaker 1: not going to tell you how far he will drop
- 3:11Speaker 1: or not. My guess is he's not going to drop
- 3:13Speaker 1: at all. Yeah, yeah, but I don't have all that information,
- 3:16Speaker 1: and neither to the teams yet. That's why they're But
- 3:18Speaker 1: I'll bet you those top five teams of scrambling right
- 3:20Speaker 1: now to get extra extra background. Well, absolutely, like a
- 3:24Speaker 1: few years ago, that would have been something that really
- 3:27Speaker 1: made him plummet. Yeah, and I don't know what's well,
- 3:30Speaker 1: it depends on what his actual role is now. He
- 3:34Speaker 1: as you said, Fred, he claims that he really when
- 3:38Speaker 1: people find out what happened, this is going to be
- 3:40Speaker 1: nothing for him. Right, he wasn't in the car that
- 3:43Speaker 1: was you know, unfortunately involved in the in the accident. Yeah,
- 3:47Speaker 1: so apparently he's only sighted with a misdemeanor anyway, Right,
- 3:50Speaker 1: but there is like reckless driving, yeah, you know, supposedly
- 3:54Speaker 1: racing whatever. I mean, I'm not sure you need to
- 3:57Speaker 1: lose your profession because you you know, but by the time,
- 4:00Speaker 1: but everybody combine so just I mean, well with some
- 4:03Speaker 1: of the players were saying that yesterday, and everybody's mind
- 4:07Speaker 1: goes back to Henry Ruggs from a couple of years ago,
- 4:09Speaker 1: and you know they're thinking about that. So all right, um,
- 4:13Speaker 1: but that's going on. And of course yesterday was the
- 4:16Speaker 1: first day that our guys had a chance to talk
- 4:19Speaker 1: to some players. So if you go to Patriots dot com,
- 4:21Speaker 1: they have the day to wrap up yesterday with Mike
- 4:24Speaker 1: and Evan. Check that out because you'll get all their
- 4:27Speaker 1: thoughts from yesterday. And they'll do the same thing today.
- 4:31Speaker 1: They'll do a Day three wrap up at the end
- 4:33Speaker 1: of the today on Patriots dot Com and you'll see
- 4:36Speaker 1: that on the Patriots social channels as well. So good
- 4:39Speaker 1: job being done out there by everybody. Yes to combine, Yes, yep, Alex,
- 4:44Speaker 1: how are you doing. I'm doing great. Yeah, yep. I'm
- 4:46Speaker 1: not snowed in anymore. That's good. And you did get snow?
- 4:49Speaker 1: Where do you live? Western mass Yeah? Oh yeah, hit, Yeah,
- 4:52Speaker 1: that's true. Yeah, you guys get hit. I got nothing,
- 4:55Speaker 1: really nothing. I mean it was there was a wet,
- 4:58Speaker 1: heavy snow early in the morning, maybe an inch. That
- 5:01Speaker 1: was it. Well, it was that morning. I woke up
- 5:03Speaker 1: and I was like, wow, I got bamboozled. I thought
- 5:05Speaker 1: I wasn't going to drive in and then I went
- 5:07Speaker 1: to go take a shower and then the snow really
- 5:09Speaker 1: started coming down. So I don't know if it was
- 5:11Speaker 1: just late or what happened, but I think it just
- 5:13Speaker 1: depended where you live. Yeah, we will. I think near
- 5:17Speaker 1: the near the coast. You're on the water there. Pause. Yeah,
- 5:20Speaker 1: well you're not. You live on the cape. Ye. Master
- 5:22Speaker 1: keeping I am, but I just want to know if
- 5:26Speaker 1: you are too right and we didn't get very much. Yeah,
- 5:31Speaker 1: the only two people in the organization that were round
- 5:33Speaker 1: to the ocean effect. Yeah, I was out in the
- 5:36Speaker 1: booney shoveling myself out absolutely. All right, So what do
- 5:39Speaker 1: we got going today? Anything interesting? Well, I mean, I
- 5:44Speaker 1: think there are a couple of different things. There was.
- 5:47Speaker 1: Now I don't have the name in front of me.
- 5:48Speaker 1: I meant to to tweet this out. I mean to
- 5:51Speaker 1: print this out. There's a a member of Aaron Wilson
- 5:58Speaker 1: had a tweet saying that there was a gentleman, and
- 6:00Speaker 1: now I don't have the name in front of me,
- 6:02Speaker 1: so I'm gonna have to find it. Aaron Wilson um
- 6:05Speaker 1: tweeted an addition for the Patriots Scouting Department personnel department
- 6:12Speaker 1: now and he was here before too, That's why I
- 6:15Speaker 1: can't remember his name. So he's returning, and evidently there
- 6:18Speaker 1: was some interest in him at a high level or
- 6:20Speaker 1: just a scout. No, well, it didn't say exactly what
- 6:23Speaker 1: he was going to be doing, but he was involved
- 6:26Speaker 1: in in scouting with the Patriots in the past. I'll
- 6:30Speaker 1: get it in a second, all right, So that that
- 6:33Speaker 1: was a minor, minor thing involving the Patriots Pat Stewart.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Pat Stewart m Patriots expected to add former Panthers vice
- 6:42Speaker 1: president of player Personnel. Pat Stewart, a former Eagles national
- 6:46Speaker 1: scout in New England staffer to the scouting department. Per
- 6:50Speaker 1: league source, he's currently a vice president. He's vice president
- 6:54Speaker 1: player personnel. Okay, so I don't know anything I'm gonna
- 6:59Speaker 1: for he was the former. Yeah, I know, but he
- 7:02Speaker 1: was at a high level. I'm wondering. I'm wondering. I
- 7:06Speaker 1: don't know anything. If this means Elliott wolf might be
- 7:09Speaker 1: on the move, could be, he says. Aaron Wilson says
- 7:13Speaker 1: he drew interest around the NFL, including from former Patriots
- 7:16Speaker 1: executives who are now gms. So the Monte Awesome Forge,
- 7:19Speaker 1: that Jason Lights of the World, I'm sure I'm missing. Yeah,
- 7:23Speaker 1: I don't see why they would be adding someone with
- 7:25Speaker 1: that type of back experience unless there's someone leaving. You
- 7:30Speaker 1: could be right if if he's replacing um, you know,
- 7:33Speaker 1: I would say Elliot Wolfe because it looks like mac Grows. Yeah,
- 7:37Speaker 1: you know the fact that mac Row, by the way,
- 7:39Speaker 1: Macro was available to our people out there, So you'll
- 7:42Speaker 1: be hearing that interview also on Patriots dot Com later.
- 7:45Speaker 1: But the fact that football made Matt grow available to
- 7:48Speaker 1: us tells me that he ain't going anywhere, you know,
- 7:51Speaker 1: but Elliot Wolf might be. And that's why you'd bring
- 7:54Speaker 1: in somebody from that level, you know. Yeah, I think,
- 7:59Speaker 1: as you know, Pau, I think you're reading the tea
- 8:01Speaker 1: leaves well. Where As you know, Paul, we're not one
- 8:03Speaker 1: to have a staff that needs to be bigger than
- 8:06Speaker 1: it should be. That is true. That is true. It's
- 8:10Speaker 1: really served them well, inficient. There's one thing that a
- 8:14Speaker 1: lot of people, uh tweeted me today wondering if we
- 8:18Speaker 1: were going to talk about, was this NFLPA report card
- 8:21Speaker 1: that came out yesterday about all the teams. They polled
- 8:25Speaker 1: players from every team about their team and asked them
- 8:29Speaker 1: to grade, you know, different things like the facilities, the
- 8:32Speaker 1: training room, nutrition, weight room, travel. Patriots didn't do so well. Yeah. Now, overall,
- 8:42Speaker 1: being the company man that I am, I know a
- 8:45Speaker 1: lot of the areas that the Patriots didn't grade so
- 8:48Speaker 1: well on are in the works being revamped, you know,
- 8:53Speaker 1: the Patriots. There's a lot of construction going on here
- 8:55Speaker 1: today this year, and there's a huge building being erected
- 9:00Speaker 1: just outside the stadium, adjacent to the stadium, and the
- 9:04Speaker 1: first two floors of that building are being dedicated to football.
- 9:08Speaker 1: So I would imagine that their facilities are being refreshed, revamped, expanded,
- 9:14Speaker 1: and that's going to address a lot of the stuff
- 9:17Speaker 1: that was in that report. Yeah, And I'll tell you
- 9:19Speaker 1: one thing I thought of when I saw some of
- 9:21Speaker 1: this stuff come out yesterday, and Alex and I talked
- 9:23Speaker 1: about it a little bit this morning. Was back in
- 9:25Speaker 1: the summer, and we talked about it on our show
- 9:27Speaker 1: when the Patriots were out in Vegas, right, you know,
- 9:30Speaker 1: and Bill made those comments about the taj Mahal, and
- 9:33Speaker 1: I had made a comment that I wouldn't be surprised
- 9:36Speaker 1: if that was in reference to the facilities, And I think,
- 9:39Speaker 1: as you just pointed out, I think Robert Kraft heard
- 9:41Speaker 1: it too, no doubt, because that's what some of the
- 9:43Speaker 1: things that they're they're working on. I know a lot
- 9:45Speaker 1: of people are talking about the new videoboard and the
- 9:48Speaker 1: new lighthouse. Those are things that have nothing to do
- 9:50Speaker 1: with football, right, that's sort of the fan experience and whatnot.
- 9:54Speaker 1: But these are other things that haven't gotten as much
- 9:56Speaker 1: attention that are also as you said Fred in the
- 9:59Speaker 1: works hopefully the next time they do one of these.
- 10:02Speaker 1: And I think this is a really good thing, by
- 10:04Speaker 1: the way, Yeah, this is the first time, ye first
- 10:08Speaker 1: time they've ever done it, and it's all the players
- 10:12Speaker 1: and so it's not you know, like some media guy
- 10:15Speaker 1: with an axe to grind or the opposite, a bucket
- 10:18Speaker 1: of water to carry for the organization. This is the
- 10:21Speaker 1: players themselves. And I think players keep track of this
- 10:24Speaker 1: stuff and when they you know, they head into free agency,
- 10:27Speaker 1: and this is more information, yeah, for the players, and
- 10:30Speaker 1: I think that's a good thing. And that's the thing
- 10:32Speaker 1: free agency, Like, you know, money is the driver if
- 10:35Speaker 1: you if you give a guy more money than everybody else,
- 10:37Speaker 1: then you're going to get them. But if things, if
- 10:39Speaker 1: everything being equal, right, then this stuff starts to come
- 10:42Speaker 1: into play. That's why it's important. You know, Robert crafts
- 10:46Speaker 1: where you live, taxes? How much am I gonna be
- 10:49Speaker 1: taxed on my income? Jordan Poyer just said that, you
- 10:52Speaker 1: see that right, because he's he's a free agent. He's like,
- 10:55Speaker 1: I don't know, maybe somewhere when I don't have to
- 10:57Speaker 1: give half my money back, right, um? And then facilities,
- 11:00Speaker 1: you know, creature, comforts, how my family going to be treated. Um,
- 11:04Speaker 1: it's all important, you know, after money. Um, So, like
- 11:09Speaker 1: I said, you know and you mentioned, you know Bill
- 11:11Speaker 1: talking about the Raiders facilities, the stuff that's going on here,
- 11:17Speaker 1: that was going on before Bill mentioned that. So it
- 11:20Speaker 1: wasn't like Robert heard that. It's like, oh we better
- 11:21Speaker 1: get going this this stuff had already been in company ground. No,
- 11:25Speaker 1: but ground had broken already on this stuff. So I
- 11:28Speaker 1: I just want to I just want to get the
- 11:30Speaker 1: facts out there because you know, I know a lot
- 11:33Speaker 1: of people are running with this saying, oh the Patriots,
- 11:36Speaker 1: you know, there's stings. You know, it's it's that's so
- 11:39Speaker 1: dumb though, because like it's obvious we don't have a
- 11:41Speaker 1: brand new stadium right, you know, and around for over
- 11:44Speaker 1: twenty years. To me, it's promising that our actual staff
- 11:48Speaker 1: isn't getting torn to shreds like other teams certain strength
- 11:51Speaker 1: training departments, like I would rather have the people being
- 11:55Speaker 1: rated is very good because you're not gonna, like if
- 11:59Speaker 1: it's a normal job, you're not leaving a job because
- 12:01Speaker 1: you don't have a new office. Your people are what
- 12:03Speaker 1: keep you here, People keep you around, people help you
- 12:06Speaker 1: see look over those things. Yeah, that's the best that
- 12:09Speaker 1: they finished was training staff. Yeah, they got an A
- 12:12Speaker 1: in that that's important, and they were tied for ninth.
- 12:14Speaker 1: That's the highest they ranked in the seven categories. Um,
- 12:19Speaker 1: your friend, you made a comment just before we went
- 12:21Speaker 1: on the air, though. It looks like like a lot
- 12:22Speaker 1: of the people involved have fared well. Yeah, that that
- 12:26Speaker 1: one for the Patriots was was accurate, like tied for ninth.
- 12:30Speaker 1: That's that's the strongest that you had a service in nutrition. Yeah,
- 12:35Speaker 1: but you don't get deceived by the grades. Like as
- 12:38Speaker 1: an example, Uh, you know there's a category here that
- 12:42Speaker 1: they finished with a B plus. Well that that ranks
- 12:45Speaker 1: tied for twenty eighth, right, because a lot of teams
- 12:47Speaker 1: like what they have right right, right, So like don't
- 12:50Speaker 1: just look at the letter grade and say, oh, they
- 12:53Speaker 1: were good in that bad in this. The ranking is
- 12:55Speaker 1: what you're sort of comparing it to. Yeah, so that's that,
- 13:02Speaker 1: you know. I don't know if there's anything else to
- 13:03Speaker 1: talk about. No, I just I'm glad that you you
- 13:06Speaker 1: brought it up, because and I did. I printed it
- 13:09Speaker 1: out just in case people were asking. I saw someone
- 13:11Speaker 1: on Twitter's like, I hope you guys are talking about
- 13:14Speaker 1: this today because we shy away from everything here. I know,
- 13:17Speaker 1: you know in our soap for the slot, uh, you know,
- 13:20Speaker 1: conversations with it. Pretty much anything is on board unless
- 13:23Speaker 1: you want to like specifically talk about the personalities of
- 13:26Speaker 1: our bosses. Like I mean, let's let's face it, we're
- 13:29Speaker 1: pretty open here. Yeah, so like muscles away. It is
- 13:32Speaker 1: what it is. But you know, like the one thing
- 13:34Speaker 1: I was a little bit surprised I was travel. Um,
- 13:37Speaker 1: the Patriots didn't farewell and travel. I think it was
- 13:39Speaker 1: a D or something like that. Uh, yeah, I have
- 13:42Speaker 1: that here. Um, I don't know what it was, but
- 13:46Speaker 1: it was it was lower than I expected it to be.
- 13:49Speaker 1: You know, the Patriots famously have aircraft. It's a seven
- 13:53Speaker 1: six team travel D plus tied for twenty. Yeah, it's
- 13:56Speaker 1: a seven sixty seven. There's plenty of room for everybody.
- 13:59Speaker 1: Nobody's sitting next to each other. The food's great, I
- 14:02Speaker 1: can vouch for that. Which was funny because the comments
- 14:06Speaker 1: on team travel would indicate it was better than it was.
- 14:08Speaker 1: Right the comments players feel like they didn't have enough
- 14:13Speaker 1: room to spread out, which they have enough room. Okay,
- 14:17Speaker 1: so forty that's a lot percent. Didn't think that they
- 14:20Speaker 1: had enough room, right right, But then that they point
- 14:23Speaker 1: out the fact that there's no roommates and the seats
- 14:25Speaker 1: are bigger than the standard count seats. So that's why
- 14:28Speaker 1: I wish it was almost more detailed, right, I want
- 14:30Speaker 1: more tea. But I will say, um, but I liked
- 14:35Speaker 1: I liked the planes before. I gotta be honest with you, Freddie,
- 14:38Speaker 1: like you know, and I was spoiled. I've just like
- 14:41Speaker 1: the rest of you guys. I won't I won't. I
- 14:43Speaker 1: won't fly commercial anymore. I spoiled. But I wonder if
- 14:48Speaker 1: they if is there anywhere that says how many players
- 14:51Speaker 1: from each team uh answered to survey? Like just t
- 14:54Speaker 1: think it just said over thirteen hundred players participated it.
- 14:57Speaker 1: I don't think it broke it down. I've been wondering if,
- 15:00Speaker 1: like some teams had everybody respond and other teams had
- 15:03Speaker 1: just a few, you know, I don't know. I would
- 15:05Speaker 1: hope it would be every single I would hope so too.
- 15:07Speaker 1: But thirteen hundred's pretty much the whole league. But if
- 15:10Speaker 1: you don't have a consistent number of people from each
- 15:13Speaker 1: team reporting, it can get kind of construed that way too.
- 15:16Speaker 1: So that's like Patriots team answered and like everyone on
- 15:21Speaker 1: the Eagles answered, you're not going to get the same answers. Well,
- 15:25Speaker 1: I'll bet you everybody on the Commander's answered, oh yeah,
- 15:28Speaker 1: well yeah. So that's like some of the things that
- 15:32Speaker 1: you look at this and I agree with you, Fred,
- 15:34Speaker 1: you know, to me, there are different things like the
- 15:38Speaker 1: Aristona Cardinals facing finishing down the bottom of this and
- 15:41Speaker 1: one of the the marks against the Cardinals do you
- 15:45Speaker 1: know they charge the players to eat in the facility.
- 15:49Speaker 1: I did not. It's that's taken out of their chest.
- 15:51Speaker 1: It's like take moneyball and they had to pay for
- 15:54Speaker 1: soda club. Yeah yeah, like yeah, I don't know. I
- 16:01Speaker 1: just find that amazing. But like you, as an organization,
- 16:05Speaker 1: you want to try to put you want to try
- 16:07Speaker 1: to get your players in the facility is as much
- 16:10Speaker 1: time as possible, that's right, don't give them an excuse
- 16:12Speaker 1: to happen. And the Patriots offer all three meals to
- 16:15Speaker 1: the players, ye, and then the Cardinals. The Cardinals do
- 16:19Speaker 1: that and they charge for them like that to me
- 16:22Speaker 1: is amazing, Like like for me for employees, like I
- 16:26Speaker 1: welcome that, you know, like some type of subsidized lunch
- 16:28Speaker 1: where I pay a little bit than the Arizona Cardinals.
- 16:35Speaker 1: We'll have to pay for it too, like the Cardinals.
- 16:37Speaker 1: But you'd think that the players would have to pay
- 16:39Speaker 1: for it. Now, it's amazing to you know, we're we're
- 16:42Speaker 1: gonna have to pay like five or six bucks for
- 16:43Speaker 1: a full meal, which is fine with me that I'm
- 16:45Speaker 1: looking forward to that as a fact. Yeah, that's cheaper
- 16:47Speaker 1: than going out. And but to me, like, no matter
- 16:51Speaker 1: what the prices for a player, it's kind of petty.
- 16:54Speaker 1: It's kind of it's really bad. You have to feed them,
- 16:57Speaker 1: especially if you want them eating healthy things like not
- 17:00Speaker 1: especially some of these young guys, rookies, undrafted guys. These
- 17:04Speaker 1: are the players you want to be developing. You want
- 17:06Speaker 1: them to have just rock solid nutrition. And if you
- 17:08Speaker 1: leave it up to them or their bank accounts, they're
- 17:11Speaker 1: not going to buy organics. They're not going to buy
- 17:13Speaker 1: like they're not going to get the best. These guys
- 17:15Speaker 1: as much as they make. If there's a free T
- 17:18Speaker 1: shirt being given up, they want one. It's like they're
- 17:21Speaker 1: still like, well, no one gets more free stuff than
- 17:23Speaker 1: celebrities and athletes, I know, and they think it's not
- 17:26Speaker 1: like they turn it down as they should, you know,
- 17:28Speaker 1: so like they Penny pinched, just like we do. I
- 17:31Speaker 1: tell the stories all the time about and you walk
- 17:33Speaker 1: around at the combine and the guys walking around with
- 17:36Speaker 1: their O O L twenty nine shirt on, like you
- 17:39Speaker 1: didn't get anything else, Like like you've had that on
- 17:42Speaker 1: all dake. Yeah, you know it's free. Yeah. But the
- 17:46Speaker 1: nutrition part of it that Alex brought up to. And
- 17:48Speaker 1: do you remember the story about Taylor Price. Remember Taylor
- 17:51Speaker 1: Price was like a third round receiver, never panned out well.
- 17:54Speaker 1: He had really bad problems um in high school and
- 18:00Speaker 1: college cramping. He would have really bad problems with his
- 18:04Speaker 1: muscles and they and they always told him, you need
- 18:06Speaker 1: to hydrate, drink water, right, you need to hydrate more.
- 18:09Speaker 1: You know what he used to do. He used to
- 18:11Speaker 1: drink mountain dew to hydrate because he had no like
- 18:14Speaker 1: he like he thought, well, I'm hydrating. It's the Paul
- 18:16Speaker 1: Perillo trainer, right, nutrition, right, But like I'm not willfully ignorant,
- 18:22Speaker 1: I know right from right like this guy didn't. He
- 18:25Speaker 1: didn't have that information. So A, you want the guys
- 18:28Speaker 1: in your facility as often as possible because you want
- 18:31Speaker 1: them working on what they're supposed to be working on.
- 18:34Speaker 1: And B you want them in a lot of cases
- 18:36Speaker 1: to be you know, keeping their bodies in tune and
- 18:40Speaker 1: educated on like right, and that would and a lot
- 18:43Speaker 1: of these guys come from places of food and security
- 18:46Speaker 1: or they just like they're not growing up in like
- 18:49Speaker 1: la eating organic couscous and you know what I mean.
- 18:53Speaker 1: Last year we had Trent Brown on We had weight
- 18:55Speaker 1: clauses as part of his contract, right yeah, Trent Brown.
- 18:59Speaker 1: So what if it was no, no, no, you you
- 19:02Speaker 1: make X amount as long as you're under this amount,
- 19:05Speaker 1: but we're gonna charge. Sorry, you can't eat here unless
- 19:07Speaker 1: you're willing to pay, right Like, Yeah, doesn't make sense. No,
- 19:11Speaker 1: doesn't make sense. It's the cost of doing business. I
- 19:13Speaker 1: believe in the NFL group feeding these guys, you're investing
- 19:17Speaker 1: in your player's health and their nutrition and get and
- 19:20Speaker 1: believe it or not, you get Ted Harper and we
- 19:24Speaker 1: did one on him, right, yeah, do your job whatever.
- 19:27Speaker 1: This is his tenth year here. Yeah, he came from
- 19:29Speaker 1: Ohio State. Um, really good. The players love him. He
- 19:33Speaker 1: takes care of these guys. Each guy has his own plan.
- 19:36Speaker 1: Um when he too, she's wonderful his assistant. Yeah. So
- 19:40Speaker 1: you know again, you don't give him an excuse to
- 19:43Speaker 1: have to go elsewhere. You know, Tom, now, he Brady,
- 19:46Speaker 1: he wanted he had his own thing. I'm sure, Um,
- 19:49Speaker 1: but uh, you know of the guys they're taking care
- 19:54Speaker 1: of here, you know, both from a nutrition and conditioning standpoint,
- 19:58Speaker 1: you know. And that's why, like the whole Guerrero and
- 20:00Speaker 1: and Bill thing, I understand both sides, but I certainly
- 20:06Speaker 1: understand Bill's side, Like, Okay, Tom, you're gonna go with
- 20:10Speaker 1: Alex and you're gonna do your thing. But this whole
- 20:13Speaker 1: lobbying other players to leave the facility and get off
- 20:17Speaker 1: of our training, that's no good. This is why I
- 20:21Speaker 1: have Moses Cabrera here and Ted Harper and and we
- 20:24Speaker 1: believe in our program. And I don't want you recruiting
- 20:27Speaker 1: guys to go elsewhere. And by the way, also argue
- 20:32Speaker 1: with our guys, you know, which was happening. I think
- 20:35Speaker 1: in gronksh situation, you know so well that may feel
- 20:40Speaker 1: pressure too. Yeah, they do it. Yeah. You know Tom's
- 20:43Speaker 1: such a you know, he's a pie piper. Um. You know,
- 20:46Speaker 1: come come to TB twelve so I'll throw you the ball. Yeah, exactly,
- 20:50Speaker 1: Like I mean, there's there's a lot of pressure there
- 20:52Speaker 1: I mean, I was, I was. We did it behind
- 20:55Speaker 1: the scenes thing up at TB twelve, and I remember
- 20:57Speaker 1: the day we were there. The players were filing in
- 20:59Speaker 1: and out, you know, which you know, listen, every player
- 21:05Speaker 1: has a right to do whatever they think is best
- 21:07Speaker 1: for them. But you know that came close to a
- 21:13Speaker 1: place of like under undermining. You're saying that was a
- 21:16Speaker 1: weird situation. That was a weird situation because it was
- 21:19Speaker 1: literally a business that Tom was recruiting these guys into.
- 21:24Speaker 1: So anyway, that's the so's to play a report card.
- 21:29Speaker 1: Who did you talk to today, Alex? Didn't you have
- 21:31Speaker 1: a Oh yeah, I just came from the hall. Dietrich
- 21:34Speaker 1: Wise was reading books to some kids, molding some young minds. Nice. Yeah,
- 21:38Speaker 1: I was sweet. Nice. I know. David Andrews had an event.
- 21:42Speaker 1: He's up in every God's country today. Oh yeah, what's
- 21:44Speaker 1: he doing up there? Reading books? Not at my old
- 21:48Speaker 1: elementary school, though, I checked in with my my source
- 21:51Speaker 1: lay at school. Yeah, that's that's on the other that's
- 21:53Speaker 1: on the other side of town. Yeah, the other side
- 21:55Speaker 1: of that. That's where I played a little league. Yeah,
- 21:58Speaker 1: either Street Park. So dev's on Is this the same?
- 22:01Speaker 1: Good football always been on all week. Okay, Yeah, I
- 22:06Speaker 1: watched a good, good chunk of this yesterday because I'm
- 22:09Speaker 1: trying to monitor the stuff that's going on there. And yeah,
- 22:13Speaker 1: they they had some fun. Ryan Leaf is pretty good,
- 22:15Speaker 1: very self deprecating. Yeah, Ryan Leaf, he's he's done a transformation. Yeah, yes, ye.
- 22:21Speaker 1: Devin's announcement should be coming pretty soon. Right Whether or
- 22:25Speaker 1: not he's coming back, he says, are saying free agency time.
- 22:28Speaker 1: He says, by free agency he will make the decision.
- 22:31Speaker 1: That's two weeks. I think it seems like it's pointing
- 22:34Speaker 1: toward him coming back. Yeah, but that's not based on
- 22:37Speaker 1: any information I get. I get like I go back
- 22:40Speaker 1: and forth on it all the time because listening I
- 22:43Speaker 1: watched Good Morning Football on Monday, woke up to watch it,
- 22:46Speaker 1: and hearing him talk, it was like one sentence I'd
- 22:49Speaker 1: be like, yeah, he's coming back, and then the next
- 22:51Speaker 1: he's like openly recruiting players to New England and kind
- 22:55Speaker 1: of talking about New England like he's not going to
- 22:56Speaker 1: be part of it. I don't know. It was really
- 22:58Speaker 1: hard to I don't think you can gage or judge. Yeah,
- 23:00Speaker 1: he's he was funny yesterday too. Um, he was making
- 23:04Speaker 1: fun of Slater um because Slater sort of firstly he said,
- 23:09Speaker 1: you know, we had this whole plan. You know, we're
- 23:10Speaker 1: gonna we're gonna talk about it. Then all of a
- 23:12Speaker 1: sudden he sents me a text I'm back, um, you know,
- 23:14Speaker 1: and he was like, I thought we were going to
- 23:16Speaker 1: talk about this. And then he's like, oh, and uh,
- 23:18Speaker 1: you know, don't make me do this alone. He's putting
- 23:20Speaker 1: all the pressure on me. Yeah, so that was part
- 23:24Speaker 1: of you know, I had that Slater told me that story.
- 23:28Speaker 1: Oh yeah, he told me that story when he was
- 23:31Speaker 1: when he was in my office, he goes, what are
- 23:34Speaker 1: you doing down here? He was making fun of I
- 23:36Speaker 1: wonder how many times a day he texts Devin, Oh yeah,
- 23:39Speaker 1: I think that's Uh. If that was me, if I
- 23:41Speaker 1: was Matthew, I'd be so annoying. I'd be sending a
- 23:44Speaker 1: text Indy, So what do you think? What are you doing?
- 23:48Speaker 1: What are you doing? We did talk about Slate Bolden
- 23:51Speaker 1: last Slade Bolden. Yes, he's trying out with the Patriots,
- 23:56Speaker 1: former teammate of Mac. He's been in the league, you know, No,
- 24:00Speaker 1: he hasn't. He hasn't been in the league and didn't
- 24:02Speaker 1: make it. Oh, he didn't get I know he wasn't drafted,
- 24:06Speaker 1: but he wasn't in a UFA anywhere he was and
- 24:09Speaker 1: he got cut. Oh okay, so he was in the league. Yeah, okay,
- 24:14Speaker 1: you know he didn't. Yeah, he didn't make it. It's
- 24:17Speaker 1: my point. He's on the CUSP. Yeah, but he graduated
- 24:20Speaker 1: two thousand and nine or left Alabama nineteen. I'm sure
- 24:23Speaker 1: he graduated. Yeah. I don't think he came out early
- 24:27Speaker 1: to not get drafted. All right. Five five past five
- 24:31Speaker 1: hundred is the A sticket hut Line web radio at
- 24:33Speaker 1: patrios dot com. Ran Stop. He's not considered to be fast,
- 24:40Speaker 1: but I'm sure he ran like a four eight like
- 24:42Speaker 1: everybody it stop it. Um, let's get to the phones.
- 24:47Speaker 1: We'll get to the emails. Maybe give away a T
- 24:49Speaker 1: shirt or two oh later on on the T shirts. Yeah. Um,
- 24:53Speaker 1: a couple of guys reaching out to me wondering is
- 24:56Speaker 1: there any way and we I know we will do this,
- 24:59Speaker 1: but anyway we can set something up in the future
- 25:01Speaker 1: that will allow regular listeners who don't listen live to
- 25:06Speaker 1: get access to the T shirts. Yeah, go to fanatics
- 25:09Speaker 1: and buy it. Okay, Well that's not really fair, is it.
- 25:12Speaker 1: We're just going to give out free T shirts. Now, well,
- 25:15Speaker 1: you know no that we have to give them away
- 25:16Speaker 1: to win it. Maybe another's not listening in real time.
- 25:19Speaker 1: We'll see exactly, maybe a different way to do it. Okay,
- 25:22Speaker 1: I don't want to make any problem. We'll figure that out.
- 25:24Speaker 1: We'll figure it out, because, as you know, Fred, it's
- 25:27Speaker 1: a small percentage that listen live. I know, well not really,
- 25:30Speaker 1: it's a humongous audience. Yeah, and it's only a fraction
- 25:35Speaker 1: that that get to listen a lot of jobs. You know, well,
- 25:37Speaker 1: most of our listeners is alex points aren't are gainfully employed. Well,
- 25:41Speaker 1: we'll figure out a way so that everybody who listens
- 25:44Speaker 1: to this show will have access to T shirts. That's
- 25:47Speaker 1: that was all I was getting. Yeah, all right, let's
- 25:50Speaker 1: get to the phones all territorial with his T shirts,
- 25:54Speaker 1: web radio, at pages dot com. I just don't want
- 25:56Speaker 1: to make promises I can't keep, you know, I'm going
- 25:58Speaker 1: to send out T shirts everybody. Well do you care
- 26:01Speaker 1: if you have a job, if you like this show
- 26:03Speaker 1: and want a T shirt, take a break, that's right,
- 26:06Speaker 1: Or let's listen at work. Another one over there, listen
- 26:08Speaker 1: at work where Patty calls in all the time he's
- 26:10Speaker 1: at work. Yeah, we're safe for work, right, But he
- 26:12Speaker 1: said she's drunk half the times. He says obviously doesn't
- 26:15Speaker 1: care about what he's doing. You can't say it's lunchtime.
- 26:18Speaker 1: Who Patty is he absolutely listening to we're satti. What
- 26:23Speaker 1: do you do for a living? I drink? Let us
- 26:26Speaker 1: know what distributor? And I think he's working water now,
- 26:32Speaker 1: Oh no, he's with PEPSI. That's right. Yeah, let's go
- 26:35Speaker 1: to Patty. Let's go to Jared in North Carolina. What's up, Jared?
- 26:39Speaker 1: What was going on? Everybody got about two questions. One,
- 26:43Speaker 1: what are your thoughts about the Patriots um calling New
- 26:47Speaker 1: Orleans about Michael Thomas Um. I think that he had
- 26:50Speaker 1: a bunch of restructuring for his contracts, So I just
- 26:53Speaker 1: wanted to know did that happen or or them reaching
- 26:57Speaker 1: out to Houston and inquiring about John Metchi. And then
- 27:02Speaker 1: the other question is wait a minute, yeah, wait, wait Jared,
- 27:06Speaker 1: these things that happened? Yeah? First question, first, Jared, where
- 27:09Speaker 1: where are you find hearing that they did these things?
- 27:13Speaker 1: Were they restructured his contract? No? No, where are you
- 27:16Speaker 1: Patriots reaching out to inquire about Mike Thomas. Is that
- 27:19Speaker 1: something that happened? No, I'm asking, Oh, I have no
- 27:23Speaker 1: interest in Michael Thomas. Why not? Because he hasn't done
- 27:26Speaker 1: anything in three years? Has he been hurt four times? Yes? Okay,
- 27:32Speaker 1: but Metchi? Why is met Why are they getting rid
- 27:35Speaker 1: of Metchi? I don't know, but they drafted him last year.
- 27:38Speaker 1: He has cancer and they're just gonna get rid of him. Yeah.
- 27:40Speaker 1: But Jared, is this this just you wishful thinking? Or
- 27:43Speaker 1: did you hear that the Patriots had reached out to
- 27:45Speaker 1: these guys? No, this is just okay. There was a
- 27:50Speaker 1: writer who posed this the scenario okay, John Mechi's scenario. No,
- 27:56Speaker 1: this is the Michael Thomas one. Oh yeah, No. A
- 27:58Speaker 1: lot of people have thrown that out there because of
- 28:00Speaker 1: course he's somebody on someone else's team that the Patriot
- 28:03Speaker 1: should just get. Like that's like DeAndre Hopkins. You know
- 28:07Speaker 1: DeAndre Hopkins. Oh, this is that time of year. Jerry Judy,
- 28:10Speaker 1: you're looking at you know, who could who could they
- 28:13Speaker 1: possibly get? You know, so that people are speculating, Yeah,
- 28:16Speaker 1: but I want to get it got Like Jerry Judy,
- 28:18Speaker 1: I'm interested in te Higgins obviously had been on that bandwagon.
- 28:22Speaker 1: I mentioned these are These are guys that are productive
- 28:24Speaker 1: and in a situation where they may be able to
- 28:27Speaker 1: be attained. Michael Thomas has been hurt and in a
- 28:31Speaker 1: like ineffective for three straight seasons. I like what the
- 28:34Speaker 1: GM of the Bengal said about te Higgins. Do you
- 28:36Speaker 1: believe that? Do you hear that? No? But I like
- 28:38Speaker 1: what he said. Yeah, you know we got our guy,
- 28:41Speaker 1: get your own. But do you believe them? Um? I
- 28:45Speaker 1: think as a GM, everything should be on the table.
- 28:47Speaker 1: I believe him. Yeah, I believe that he's not available
- 28:50Speaker 1: this Yeah, but yeah, I mean, now that's happened in
- 28:53Speaker 1: the past at the Combine, Like I saw someone wrote
- 28:57Speaker 1: to that. I think Chad Graff and the Athletic wrote
- 28:59Speaker 1: something about at the Combine. A couple of years ago.
- 29:06Speaker 1: Minnesota said unequivocally that Steph Diggs was going nowhere, and
- 29:10Speaker 1: within days he was traded to Buffalo. So these guys
- 29:13Speaker 1: don't always tell the truth. I believe Duke Tobin. Yeah.
- 29:17Speaker 1: I mean, if I was a GM, I'd make it
- 29:18Speaker 1: clear to the rest of the league. I'm always answering
- 29:21Speaker 1: my phone. Don't be insulted if I laugh in your
- 29:24Speaker 1: face when you proposed something but I'll always answer and Jared,
- 29:28Speaker 1: the reason why I'm not overly interested in Mike Thomas
- 29:31Speaker 1: is because I think he was a big, physical receiver
- 29:34Speaker 1: who was effective with his you know, with his size,
- 29:39Speaker 1: and not necessarily known as a speed speed burner. And
- 29:42Speaker 1: that's how he got He was incredibly productive. Y had
- 29:44Speaker 1: like one hundred and forty catch seasons, like really off
- 29:47Speaker 1: the charts production. But I think those guys fred when
- 29:51Speaker 1: they get hurt and they lose a step, have a
- 29:53Speaker 1: hard time, okay, And I think he's been constantly hurt.
- 29:56Speaker 1: I don't think he works all that hard to get
- 29:58Speaker 1: back after he's hurt, based on what's come out of
- 30:00Speaker 1: New Orleans. And I'd rather have a better option than
- 30:03Speaker 1: I'm banking on than a guy who hasn't done anything
- 30:05Speaker 1: in three years. What's your second question, Jared? The second
- 30:09Speaker 1: question is from a fan standpoint, What home game in
- 30:14Speaker 1: away game, y'all? I think would be the best one
- 30:16Speaker 1: to go to? Well, I mean, if you if you
- 30:19Speaker 1: like Vegas, that's gonna be a that's always going to
- 30:22Speaker 1: be a destination on every team. Kansas City at home
- 30:25Speaker 1: this year, right, Yeah, that'll be the top of my list. Yeah,
- 30:28Speaker 1: at home Kansas City, probably away Vegas or Dallas. If
- 30:32Speaker 1: you have your passport and it's ready to go, go
- 30:35Speaker 1: to Germany. Look at this guy and check check out
- 30:37Speaker 1: the Patris playing in Germany. But that's gonna be a
- 30:40Speaker 1: tough ticket, I think, Yeah, that's gonna be a tough ticket.
- 30:43Speaker 1: All right, thanks Jared, could you could hook him up? Fred?
- 30:46Speaker 1: You're big again again here I am giving things out. Yeah,
- 30:49Speaker 1: you're big in Germany. Though, don't put me on the spot.
- 30:52Speaker 1: Like speak in German. A while ago. It wasn't it. Yeah,
- 30:54Speaker 1: he was like just out of nowhere. I like, I
- 30:56Speaker 1: don't even I don't know what that means. Like ask
- 30:58Speaker 1: him a question. He answered in German. Right, I'm practicing.
- 31:01Speaker 1: I'm taking German lessons. H Patty's an agawam. What's up, Patty? Yeah?
- 31:08Speaker 1: Happy so that I am not drunk at work, trying
- 31:12Speaker 1: to stand up for you. You carbonated, You went happy
- 31:15Speaker 1: out right now, it's all the truth. You're carbonated. I'm
- 31:18Speaker 1: actually driving to a bar right now. I was wating
- 31:21Speaker 1: for Patty to be like, actually, that's why you have
- 31:23Speaker 1: a strong ranking in the in the listener. I'm not
- 31:26Speaker 1: drunk at work. I go out to my car and drink. Correct,
- 31:29Speaker 1: good job. Hey, that's exactly what I just came to do,
- 31:32Speaker 1: is come to my van. Yeah, no, listen, I'm v
- 31:36Speaker 1: that's creepy weekend during football season when the game's on.
- 31:39Speaker 1: She puts the time it is. But I'm all business
- 31:43Speaker 1: when I'm here, Okay, except into Patty. You know it's
- 31:46Speaker 1: all love, bro. Yeah, Oh yeah, dude, I know it's
- 31:49Speaker 1: all love. Um I wanted. Uh, it's funny because I
- 31:55Speaker 1: had I had the idea of calling today just to say, Fred,
- 31:59Speaker 1: have noise. I know I've said this before, but you
- 32:01Speaker 1: truly are the king of all Patriots media question. He's
- 32:07Speaker 1: It's worked for everybody. Yeah, except for me, everybody. I
- 32:12Speaker 1: love a bigger and better gig coverage. The Combined show
- 32:17Speaker 1: yesterday was awesome. I loved here and Mike and Evan
- 32:20Speaker 1: out there and you guys, you guys are the best.
- 32:24Speaker 1: You know, I've been listening for about twelve years now.
- 32:26Speaker 1: Anybody who's not who's a huge Patriots fan that doesn't
- 32:29Speaker 1: listen to this show, in my opinion, is an idiot
- 32:32Speaker 1: because you guys give it. You know, there's no hot take.
- 32:35Speaker 1: You guys tell it hell like it is, and you
- 32:37Speaker 1: guys relate, I think relate to the fans. I think
- 32:40Speaker 1: probably better than any show that well, thank you there
- 32:43Speaker 1: that that I appreciate. Yeah, I really do, because we
- 32:47Speaker 1: want to relate. Yeah, thank you guys. Props. And I
- 32:52Speaker 1: want to get your your guys opinion on a player
- 32:54Speaker 1: if you've checked them out. And I know Claire's ears
- 32:57Speaker 1: are probably gonna perk up. But guy, I like, you know,
- 33:00Speaker 1: watching a little bit of highlights on them. Granted they're
- 33:03Speaker 1: just highlights, but and he comes from a Belichick friendly program,
- 33:07Speaker 1: Famil Report tight End from Iowa. Have you have you
- 33:10Speaker 1: guys checked them out? And if you have any opinions
- 33:13Speaker 1: on them, I'm gonna have to defer to Paul. I
- 33:15Speaker 1: have been a play a little bit. I haven't checked
- 33:17Speaker 1: any of these guys out yet. That's that's for Mike
- 33:19Speaker 1: and Evan when they get back. But m yeah, I'm
- 33:22Speaker 1: vaguely familiar with him. He looks like he's another one
- 33:25Speaker 1: of those I mean, I always been a tight end
- 33:27Speaker 1: factory over the years, They've had a lot of tight ends.
- 33:30Speaker 1: He looks like, you know, he's in that mold um
- 33:33Speaker 1: you know, good size. I think he's known more as
- 33:36Speaker 1: a blocker if I'm not mistaken, I'd have to look
- 33:38Speaker 1: that up. I might that might be wrong. But I
- 33:40Speaker 1: always had a good, um good history of tight ends,
- 33:43Speaker 1: And like you said, Patty, there's a good pipeline or
- 33:46Speaker 1: at least a good relationship between Bill and friends. Absolutely. Yeah,
- 33:51Speaker 1: So all right, Patty, thanks for calling in. Uh, let's
- 33:55Speaker 1: go to Dallas. John's down there. What's up to John? Hey, guys,
- 34:00Speaker 1: thanks for having me on. No problem. Hey, I got
- 34:03Speaker 1: two things forty today, both on the number fourteen overall
- 34:07Speaker 1: pick um. First of all, I don't think this is
- 34:09Speaker 1: going to be a super popular opinion. I don't think
- 34:11Speaker 1: his name has been brought up on the show, and
- 34:13Speaker 1: pardon me if he has previously, but Brian Branch from Alabama, Yeah, yeah,
- 34:20Speaker 1: that's definitely that's been brought up. Yeah, he's he's been
- 34:22Speaker 1: mocked to the Patriots um in a handful of spots. Yeah,
- 34:26Speaker 1: listed as a safety, they put him his lock corner
- 34:29Speaker 1: at Alabama, they put him on slot receivers, tight ends.
- 34:32Speaker 1: I think if Devin isn't a return I, you know,
- 34:35Speaker 1: it's not going to be the sextiest pick. You know,
- 34:37Speaker 1: it's we talk a lot of tackle, We talk a
- 34:39Speaker 1: lot of wide receiver. But he seems like a Belichick guy.
- 34:43Speaker 1: We know how how close he is a saving I mean,
- 34:45Speaker 1: what are your thoughts on us taking what is essentially,
- 34:49Speaker 1: you know, a not super valuable position, but a player
- 34:51Speaker 1: that that has a great upside like Brian Branch at fourteen. Well,
- 34:55Speaker 1: I don't, I mean the way you sort of described it,
- 34:58Speaker 1: I don't. I don't have any interested in but no,
- 35:03Speaker 1: but you're like someone with some upside like I don't
- 35:05Speaker 1: want someone with with like you know that that's kind
- 35:08Speaker 1: of a project to be picking at fourteen. But but
- 35:11Speaker 1: he's But the question is, well, the PA could the
- 35:13Speaker 1: Patriots overreach for a guy like I don't think it's
- 35:15Speaker 1: a reach. It's my point. I think that a lot
- 35:17Speaker 1: of people have him in the middle of the first round,
- 35:19Speaker 1: and like I said, there's a lot of people that
- 35:20Speaker 1: have mocked him to New England. Um, which probably means
- 35:23Speaker 1: it won't happen because usually the mock drafts are way
- 35:26Speaker 1: off base with the Patriots. But um, I do think
- 35:30Speaker 1: he's a guy that has some versatility from a program
- 35:32Speaker 1: that obviously Bill is very familiar with and has a
- 35:34Speaker 1: lot of respect for US. So UM, I don't think
- 35:38Speaker 1: it's it would be a silly pick. It would be
- 35:39Speaker 1: a lot more sexy than tackle. Yeah, you know, a
- 35:43Speaker 1: sort of a hybrid defensive back. I think that it's
- 35:46Speaker 1: around it's I think we talked about this a couple
- 35:48Speaker 1: of weeks ago when everyone was here. It's around where
- 35:50Speaker 1: Kyle Hamilton was taken for Baltimore, who's kind of that
- 35:53Speaker 1: kind of a player, more of a safety um than
- 35:56Speaker 1: a corner, but guy with versatility back there. I think
- 35:59Speaker 1: he was fourteen or to the Ravens last year, had
- 36:03Speaker 1: a decent rookie year, not great, but but pretty good.
- 36:06Speaker 1: I wouldn't be opposed to it. Yeah, and I think
- 36:09Speaker 1: John's right. If if if Devin McCoy, McCody goes um, I
- 36:14Speaker 1: don't know what Jabril Pepper's future is going to be.
- 36:17Speaker 1: I don't know how much longer Adrian Phillips is going
- 36:19Speaker 1: to be around it. That's a that's a small guy
- 36:21Speaker 1: who's taken a physical pounding Adrian Phillips. So that's a
- 36:25Speaker 1: position that might need to be reworked a little bit.
- 36:28Speaker 1: All right, Thanks John. I'm wondering, Like you know, we
- 36:32Speaker 1: always hear about well, you know, so and so at
- 36:35Speaker 1: this position, it's tough to figure out how he projects
- 36:38Speaker 1: into the NFL. And you know, we heard a lot
- 36:41Speaker 1: about that, like in the past with receivers and but
- 36:44Speaker 1: I'm wondering if it's becoming more difficult to project defensive
- 36:48Speaker 1: players because of the way college is. Like even even
- 36:51Speaker 1: the Alabama gives up thirty points a game now, right,
- 36:56Speaker 1: you know. So, Like I'm wondering, like, because of the
- 36:58Speaker 1: way the college game is, if it's getting tougher for
- 37:01Speaker 1: scouts to figure out if this guy's actually got what
- 37:04Speaker 1: it takes well. And I think the other part of
- 37:06Speaker 1: that is the good college defenses like Georgia the last
- 37:12Speaker 1: two years, the one well no, but trying to figure
- 37:15Speaker 1: out which guy is responsible for it, right, you know,
- 37:18Speaker 1: and it's it's not the two guys that are rumored
- 37:21Speaker 1: to go number one overall at both defensive players, Will
- 37:24Speaker 1: Anderson and Carter that we already talked about, one from Georgia,
- 37:27Speaker 1: one from Alabama. Yeah, so trying to figure out on
- 37:31Speaker 1: Georgia as an example, last year they had a slew
- 37:34Speaker 1: of highly regarded defensive players that all went early in
- 37:38Speaker 1: the draft. How do you know which guy was the guy? Yeah?
- 37:42Speaker 1: You know? So, yeah, I think that's part of it. Yeah.
- 37:45Speaker 1: I mean we famously took Jermaine Cunningham that year from Florida,
- 37:48Speaker 1: remember that, And yeah, and then we did the same
- 37:51Speaker 1: thing with Ron brace from from BC. Yeah. Ron Bray's
- 37:55Speaker 1: less Um. I don't think we passed up on a
- 37:57Speaker 1: better player from BC that we I mean, I thought
- 37:59Speaker 1: he was the other guy. Well, Carlos Dunlap was the
- 38:03Speaker 1: guy right in Florida, right, And I think Bill had
- 38:06Speaker 1: made a comment to behind the scenes to somebody that
- 38:09Speaker 1: Herbert Meyer has sort of steered him in Jermain Cunningham direction,
- 38:14Speaker 1: which didn't work out. Nope. Here's an interesting email. This
- 38:17Speaker 1: is from Brian and Swansea. It's a career earnings game.
- 38:21Speaker 1: Career earnings ranked the following three players listed alphabetically in
- 38:26Speaker 1: terms of career earnings, Josh Gordon, Jacoby Myers, and Cole Strange.
- 38:31Speaker 1: Who do you think where do they rank in terms
- 38:33Speaker 1: of career earnings? I would say Gordon Meyers Strange. Believe
- 38:40Speaker 1: it or not, it's strange Gordon Myers. Really yeah, no,
- 38:44Speaker 1: it's not okay, this is what the emails. I mean,
- 38:48Speaker 1: is he counting his four year contract? I don't know,
- 38:51Speaker 1: he says the answers Cole Strange six point seven nine eight,
- 38:55Speaker 1: Josh Gordon six point five H two, and Jacoby Meyers
- 38:58Speaker 1: six point four h four rear earnings. I like this
- 39:03Speaker 1: game better if it's like, when it's all said and done,
- 39:05Speaker 1: who made the most? Well, cole Strange is the first
- 39:07Speaker 1: round pick on that group, right, he will, he will
- 39:10Speaker 1: be guaranteed more money. Yeah, I don't think he's already
- 39:13Speaker 1: made more money. And that's the way I looked at him. Yeah,
- 39:15Speaker 1: but I mean, I'll I could be wrong, Okay, not
- 39:20Speaker 1: to mention a couple of weeks in Jacoby's status definitely
- 39:23Speaker 1: changes here. Okay, while you're doing that, Paul the next
- 39:29Speaker 1: batch ranked him in terms of career earnings. Nick, So
- 39:33Speaker 1: he's he's counting. Yeah, he's counting the signing bonus, which
- 39:37Speaker 1: I don't think he got all up front. But he
- 39:39Speaker 1: might be right, but that he might be round his
- 39:41Speaker 1: average salaries three million, which would be less than the
- 39:44Speaker 1: other two. Yeah, but he's talking career earnings, not average salary. Yeah.
- 39:48Speaker 1: But no, no, no no, no, that's not what he's Career
- 39:51Speaker 1: earnings is one year for cole Strange, not four. Well,
- 39:55Speaker 1: I don't know what he got yet, yeah, but I
- 39:57Speaker 1: point but that's but as long as he's doing there
- 39:59Speaker 1: all same like what they're so he got one five
- 40:03Speaker 1: to sign and and seven hundred and five base salaries. Well,
- 40:09Speaker 1: as long as they're all judged the same way, as
- 40:12Speaker 1: long as all their future, what they're signed for is
- 40:15Speaker 1: added in, well, um, then it's then it's fair. For
- 40:18Speaker 1: Josh Gordon future is zero and for Jacobe Meyer's future
- 40:21Speaker 1: is zero. There you go, So that that's then that's
- 40:24Speaker 1: why this is good. No, next one, Nick Folks, I
- 40:29Speaker 1: don't think that's right. Just like Nick Folk, Nick Folk,
- 40:33Speaker 1: Brian Hoyer and Matthew Slater. Nick Folk, Brian Hoyer, Matthew Slater,
- 40:39Speaker 1: I would say Slaters. No, I'd say Hoyer Slater Folk
- 40:44Speaker 1: and he and he guesses alex Um. I would put
- 40:47Speaker 1: Folk in the middle. Ah, this is kind of hard now.
- 40:52Speaker 1: Brian Paul had it Hoyer Slater Folk who went a
- 40:56Speaker 1: little easier because they've both been in the league for
- 40:57Speaker 1: a long time. Hoyer's thirty two point six, Matt Slater
- 41:02Speaker 1: at twenty seven point four in Nick Folks twenty one
- 41:06Speaker 1: point three. The goal there is, Mama, have your baby
- 41:12Speaker 1: grew up to be a backup quarterback. Yeah, you can
- 41:14Speaker 1: make a very good living without having to put your
- 41:16Speaker 1: body in harm's pay very often. Get all the benefits.
- 41:20Speaker 1: A couple more, A few more questions. This is the
- 41:23Speaker 1: one different. There are ten current or former Patriots on
- 41:27Speaker 1: the NFL's top ten or top one hundred, I should
- 41:30Speaker 1: say career earnings list. Name the five drafted by the Patriots.
- 41:36Speaker 1: Ten current or former Patriots on the NFL's top one
- 41:39Speaker 1: hundred career earnings list. Name the five drafted by the
- 41:43Speaker 1: Patriots that are on the Chandler Jones that's one. Don't
- 41:48Speaker 1: look at my screen. I'm not looking at your screen.
- 41:50Speaker 1: But do you think I could read that if Chandler
- 41:54Speaker 1: Jones is one Chandler Jones, he comes in third on
- 41:57Speaker 1: the list. By the way, and this is all time
- 41:59Speaker 1: earning Devin mccordy whatever, one hundred, whatever, career earnings list,
- 42:04Speaker 1: Devin mccordy. Uh, he does come in at number four, right. No,
- 42:11Speaker 1: they could be former. Yep, they're active. They're not all
- 42:16Speaker 1: active in the league. Yeah, Tom I, Thomas one. I'm
- 42:21Speaker 1: out then, yeah, Toms one. I thought it was just
- 42:23Speaker 1: active players. These are current or former? Uh? Tomas one,
- 42:28Speaker 1: Jimmy Garoppolo two, Chandler Jones is three, Devin mccordy is
- 42:33Speaker 1: four cared to guests who's five and he's a former
- 42:36Speaker 1: player high tower. No, No, Seymour, seymour Yum Gilmore not
- 42:42Speaker 1: drafted by the Patriots. Oh yeah, right, I forgot that little.
- 42:45Speaker 1: Now there's five also who were Patriots but weren't drafted
- 42:50Speaker 1: on the same list. So these are guys who did
- 42:56Speaker 1: play with the Patriots are on this list, but they
- 42:59Speaker 1: weren't drafted by the Patriots. I'll just say it, Cam Newton,
- 43:02Speaker 1: Roll Reeves, Stefan Gilmour, Chris Long, and Brandon Cooks Mount Cooks. Yeah.
- 43:09Speaker 1: And then finally, finally, what NFL player has earned the
- 43:13Speaker 1: most money per games played minimum four years experience? What
- 43:18Speaker 1: NFL player has earned the most money per games played
- 43:23Speaker 1: with a minimum of four years experience? I have absolutely
- 43:26Speaker 1: no idea. Jimmy Garoppolo one point six million dollars per game.
- 43:34Speaker 1: So there you go. Could work if you can get it. Yeah,
- 43:38Speaker 1: there's a note here. Trey Lance has earned three point
- 43:41Speaker 1: one per game, but he's only been in the league
- 43:43Speaker 1: for two years, So there you go. That's a good
- 43:49Speaker 1: you know, good stuff, good money. Uh, money question. So
- 43:55Speaker 1: what do you look? I don't know. You guys seem
- 43:57Speaker 1: to be like out of it. Well, you're running the show.
- 44:00Speaker 1: Do you want me to argue with you? I could
- 44:01Speaker 1: do that if you need me. I was depressed because
- 44:03Speaker 1: I don't make as much money as any of those people.
- 44:06Speaker 1: Who are three people who've never been in my kitchen? Yeah?
- 44:10Speaker 1: What another email? Then we'll go back to the phones.
- 44:12Speaker 1: Tyler and Providence says, I love the Micreas episode of
- 44:16Speaker 1: Patch from the Past, and it got me thinking about
- 44:18Speaker 1: all the great hires Fred the Kingmaker has made over
- 44:21Speaker 1: the years based on the success that has come out
- 44:23Speaker 1: of PFWNPU does Fred have more impressive coaching tree than
- 44:27Speaker 1: Bill Belichick? I think the argument could be made that
- 44:29Speaker 1: Fred should be elevated to GM as long as Belichick
- 44:33Speaker 1: doesn't hear about Fred's Pro Bowl guard comment. I don't
- 44:37Speaker 1: think there's any doubt. Also, my wife and I are
- 44:39Speaker 1: expecting the birth of our first child in June and
- 44:42Speaker 1: wondered if you all had any advice for a first
- 44:44Speaker 1: time parents. Too late now, Yeah, start therapy now what
- 44:51Speaker 1: your advice would be? Yeah, now you'll love it. Get
- 44:54Speaker 1: your sleep now, it's the greatest job that you you
- 44:56Speaker 1: can have. Ye hey, uh, what was I gonna say? Oh,
- 45:03Speaker 1: people I've hired. Well, I could also be criticized for
- 45:06Speaker 1: letting them go. Well, that's your job, Yeah, well is it? Yeah,
- 45:12Speaker 1: you're nurtured though. You're nurtured though, and then you let
- 45:14Speaker 1: them spread their wings. That's what but that? And I
- 45:16Speaker 1: say them, yeah, not us. But I just got here
- 45:20Speaker 1: because I'm still no. I'm this is that's a me comment.
- 45:23Speaker 1: I think I'm thinking even Andy found a way to
- 45:25Speaker 1: get out. I think I'm like Bill with the draft.
- 45:27Speaker 1: If you're here for a long time, you're gonna have
- 45:29Speaker 1: swings and missus. I don't think you've had many missus.
- 45:31Speaker 1: Oh I could think of why I've had miss I
- 45:33Speaker 1: could think of one, but I can't think of many.
- 45:35Speaker 1: I can think of several, several, not not in the
- 45:38Speaker 1: key spots you miss in late round draft picks. I
- 45:41Speaker 1: don't know, like you take a flyer on talent sometimes
- 45:44Speaker 1: in the late rounds and and sometimes they don't work out.
- 45:47Speaker 1: But yeah, I've had your first rounders are impeccable. Yeah,
- 45:51Speaker 1: except for one. Okay, uh, let's go back. You know
- 45:57Speaker 1: I'm sitting here on that line eight five five Pats
- 46:00Speaker 1: Willem and Philam what's up? Willem think he's gone? Oh
- 46:04Speaker 1: I think I did that? Sorry, Marks and Bolton, what's
- 46:07Speaker 1: what's up? March smoking mac big? Well, you know, not
- 46:13Speaker 1: disregarding the human tragedy of Jail and Carter in the charges,
- 46:18Speaker 1: you know, the paths are adversely affected by this. And
- 46:21Speaker 1: I think we're already right on the edge at fourteen.
- 46:24Speaker 1: I think the top three tackles are likely gone by thirteen,
- 46:28Speaker 1: with the Jets and the Titans right before us. If
- 46:31Speaker 1: there's a top receiver and there isn't really one yet
- 46:35Speaker 1: until they run, you know, the Texans could take that
- 46:38Speaker 1: guy at ten. And as I've sort of mentioned before,
- 46:42Speaker 1: if I don't think one of the top four quarterbacks
- 46:44Speaker 1: they're there at fourteen, I don't think we get the
- 46:45Speaker 1: trade back. So that means we actually might have to
- 46:48Speaker 1: make that pick at fourteen. And I always want the
- 46:51Speaker 1: high priced pick or the high picks to be a
- 46:55Speaker 1: high cost pick, like you know, defensive end cornerback. So
- 47:01Speaker 1: you know that being said, what are we thinking as
- 47:03Speaker 1: far as top cornerback or top defensive end um, well,
- 47:08Speaker 1: either of those first of all, and uh and some
- 47:11Speaker 1: names at cornerback. Yeah, I'm watching one right now. Witherspoon
- 47:15Speaker 1: from Illinois is one of the highest rated corners. I
- 47:18Speaker 1: think he's got good physicality, good size. Uh. I kind
- 47:22Speaker 1: of like Joey Porter too. Um. You know, and I
- 47:24Speaker 1: don't know, like I don't do the research yet, um,
- 47:27Speaker 1: exactly where these guys are all supposed to go. Um.
- 47:31Speaker 1: And I know that you know, the mock drafts and whatnot.
- 47:35Speaker 1: You know, they have that stuff pegged a little bit more.
- 47:38Speaker 1: I missed the days of Will McDonough who actually had
- 47:40Speaker 1: an idea of what the teams were going to do
- 47:43Speaker 1: and Rich yeah, yeah, yeah, well he caught he knew, right,
- 47:48Speaker 1: oh yeah right. So literally like that to me is
- 47:52Speaker 1: what a mock draft is, not like throwing darts at
- 47:55Speaker 1: a Yeah. I haven't received my guides yet. No, Fred's
- 47:58Speaker 1: Fred's out of the loop. But corner Mark. I wouldn't
- 48:02Speaker 1: worry yet about Jalen Carter. I'm not sure yet that
- 48:05Speaker 1: that's going to adversely affect anybody, but it could. You're right,
- 48:08Speaker 1: You're right to worry about it. But I just think
- 48:11Speaker 1: it's a little early to be overly concerned, because you know,
- 48:15Speaker 1: some of this information could come out and teams could
- 48:17Speaker 1: be you know, if he's going to go one overall.
- 48:20Speaker 1: You know, I just can't imagine he's going to slip
- 48:23Speaker 1: be on the top ten. Yeah. And another thing, well
- 48:27Speaker 1: another it just it does wonder if a if a
- 48:29Speaker 1: top defensive end because obviously they're one of the most
- 48:32Speaker 1: expensive players, you know, and you can get them for
- 48:36Speaker 1: five years. That's an amazing thing. One drops that could
- 48:38Speaker 1: be interesting. But the second thing I really want to
- 48:42Speaker 1: touch on is, you know, the paths are like the
- 48:45Speaker 1: thirty first in cash outlay, and I really want to
- 48:50Speaker 1: see us. I'm sorry, no one said anything. No, he's
- 48:54Speaker 1: probably just anticipating you snapping back at that change how
- 48:57Speaker 1: we do business. Yeah, you know, of course free agency
- 49:01Speaker 1: concerned um by more cash upfront um. And that also
- 49:07Speaker 1: helps with you know, cap friendly contracts. So you know,
- 49:12Speaker 1: I think we I think it's really really important. And
- 49:16Speaker 1: I'm hoping that this new Patriots report by the players
- 49:19Speaker 1: doesn't sort of doesn't affect that. One of the categories
- 49:23Speaker 1: wasn't you know, playing paying. It had nothing to do
- 49:26Speaker 1: with salary. So no, I don't know, I don't know
- 49:28Speaker 1: where the Patriots would come if they had a category
- 49:32Speaker 1: addressing that. See that. But my point is that I
- 49:36Speaker 1: think it's I think we need to change our whole
- 49:39Speaker 1: sort of business model of how we attack things. You know,
- 49:43Speaker 1: you know, if free agent, I'd love to see Juwan Taylor,
- 49:45Speaker 1: I'd love to see Jermaine Edmonds. All the teams have
- 49:48Speaker 1: to because that's the thing. Now. It's like I remember,
- 49:52Speaker 1: I remember where like very little of contracts were guaranteed.
- 49:56Speaker 1: Now most contracts, like over half the contract act is guaranteed.
- 50:00Speaker 1: That's a big change from where it used to be.
- 50:03Speaker 1: And then you get to Shaun Watson, where almost the
- 50:06Speaker 1: whole thing was guaranteed, you know, the whole thing, the
- 50:09Speaker 1: whole thing. Yeah, so it is changing, and you know,
- 50:13Speaker 1: I think the Patriots will have to adapt if they
- 50:15Speaker 1: want to complete Yeah, yeah, I agree. Yeah, thanks Mark.
- 50:20Speaker 1: I think it's like a changing economic landscape in the
- 50:23Speaker 1: league that has to do with a individual positions, but
- 50:28Speaker 1: more importantly be the ever growing cap. Yeah. I don't
- 50:31Speaker 1: think the cap is really an impediment anymore the way
- 50:34Speaker 1: it was the first time around when the Patriots dynasty
- 50:36Speaker 1: first started. Wellam is it? Phelam? Well, I'm sorry about that.
- 50:40Speaker 1: I think I hit the wrong button, But you're back
- 50:42Speaker 1: fat that fat thing. Yes, sir, it's okay. Worry how
- 50:47Speaker 1: they everybody doing doing? Okay? Okay? Um two questions, Uh Paul,
- 50:54Speaker 1: so these Uh so there is a prospect that's basically
- 51:00Speaker 1: he's falling down. He's falling down the draft basically. And
- 51:03Speaker 1: I don't know if you heard of him. He's indeed,
- 51:05Speaker 1: I think he's de tackled or left. The name I
- 51:09Speaker 1: might be saying it wrong. His name is Brian Breezy
- 51:13Speaker 1: from Clemson. Um, he's really good. Yeah, and I'm and
- 51:19Speaker 1: I know he's not one of our top knees though,
- 51:21Speaker 1: because our three top knees our corner wide receiver and
- 51:24Speaker 1: offer some line. But someone I read today had him
- 51:29Speaker 1: as a possibility at fourteen. Someone I don't I don't
- 51:32Speaker 1: remember who. So I like to credit the people when
- 51:35Speaker 1: I read the stuff, but I don't remember where I
- 51:37Speaker 1: read that. But I saw somebody bring him up. I
- 51:40Speaker 1: personally don't know a lot about him. He's not It's funny.
- 51:43Speaker 1: I have my Clemson sweatshirt on today and I don't
- 51:45Speaker 1: know a lot about the Clemson defense. Defensive lineman Michael.
- 51:50Speaker 1: When you get you get a chance, can you just
- 51:53Speaker 1: just look at you know, look at some film man.
- 51:55Speaker 1: He's really good. M Paul, he really. I mean I
- 51:58Speaker 1: would tell Evan, but Evans he's not there, so you
- 52:01Speaker 1: know what I mean, right plus seven would tell you
- 52:03Speaker 1: you're wrong. Of course, you know what I mean. You
- 52:07Speaker 1: know that you know it all. But one more question
- 52:10Speaker 1: and that's it. Um, well, not so much a question.
- 52:13Speaker 1: It's basically off of what the caller, the last caller
- 52:16Speaker 1: just said, like I hope the pages really do. Like
- 52:19Speaker 1: you know, I ain't saying be bankrupt for anything, but
- 52:22Speaker 1: spend the money, you know, get these Tremaine Evans or
- 52:25Speaker 1: Michael and Vinci or trade for Jerry Judy. You know,
- 52:30Speaker 1: just you gotta give it the times, man. I mean,
- 52:32Speaker 1: your your back is against the wall now, you see
- 52:34Speaker 1: what it is. Man. Yeah, And I'll just leave it
- 52:37Speaker 1: at that, and y'all take care, You'll have a good
- 52:39Speaker 1: all right. Thanks for I think that's the sentiment of
- 52:41Speaker 1: a lot of fans that I hear on me too,
- 52:44Speaker 1: Paul's stations. That's one that I think that we agree on.
- 52:48Speaker 1: I think that's the sentiment that you hear a lot.
- 52:49Speaker 1: But I've heard that sentiment a lot for twenty years.
- 52:52Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, I mean, fans always want the splash.
- 52:54Speaker 1: You know they want they want the headline maker uh
- 52:58Speaker 1: in free agency, and the media tells them you have
- 53:01Speaker 1: to worry about the cap. Cool them off a little bit.
- 53:05Speaker 1: Joel and san Antonio as always really enjoy each and
- 53:08Speaker 1: every show, especially the offseason ones where we can talk
- 53:11Speaker 1: about pretty much anything. Love the soup talk from Tuesday.
- 53:15Speaker 1: So this regular soup. There's chowder, which I guess is
- 53:18Speaker 1: hardy in thick soup. Then there's bisk, which I guess
- 53:21Speaker 1: is kind of like a chowder, but not that hardy.
- 53:23Speaker 1: There's also onion bisk by the way, it's kind of
- 53:26Speaker 1: like a pure a soup. And then there's gaspacho, which
- 53:29Speaker 1: is a cold tomato soup. However, where I come from
- 53:31Speaker 1: in Puerto Rico, gaspach is not a soup. Gaspach is
- 53:35Speaker 1: a cold salad. Definitely not a soup made of salt, cod, avocado, tomato, onion,
- 53:41Speaker 1: and some other local vegetables. Okay, so why are we
- 53:44Speaker 1: keep forgetting we're on camera? I just made a face cod.
- 53:47Speaker 1: I think that sounds bomb. Yeah, it's just interesting that
- 53:51Speaker 1: different countries or regions use the same word to name
- 53:54Speaker 1: two completely different things. Thanks for your time. That's Joel
- 53:57Speaker 1: and san Antonio. Okay, well, thank you soup talk. I
- 54:02Speaker 1: love soup. If it gets it gets warm out, I
- 54:04Speaker 1: have soup today for lunch. Yeah. I make a big
- 54:06Speaker 1: pot of soup, or my mom makes me a big
- 54:08Speaker 1: pot of soup. I will eat it all week. Have
- 54:10Speaker 1: you ever had lobster bisk Yes, yeah, delicious? I love it.
- 54:15Speaker 1: M Russell in Arkansas says on the topic of receivers,
- 54:20Speaker 1: everyone has talked about adding either Hopkins or Higgins in
- 54:23Speaker 1: the offseason, but what are your thoughts on adding a
- 54:25Speaker 1: guy like Juju Smith, Schuster, McCole, Hardman or DJ Shark
- 54:30Speaker 1: all potential free agents in definite upgrades over Agalore in
- 54:34Speaker 1: maybe Parker. Also, did you see the report from something
- 54:37Speaker 1: named James Stewart that the Pats would be looking to
- 54:40Speaker 1: trade for Deebo Samuel. I don't know why the Niners would,
- 54:43Speaker 1: but sign me up anyway. Yeah, the Samuel thing is
- 54:47Speaker 1: a different, different thing. I kind of disagree on the
- 54:50Speaker 1: other three guys. I think that's more of what you
- 54:52Speaker 1: have secondary p I would rather have Jacoby Myers than
- 54:55Speaker 1: Juju Smith Schuster anywhere near this buildings. Hardman is speed.
- 55:00Speaker 1: Cartman is a gadget guy. Yea to me, I mean,
- 55:06Speaker 1: I guess out of those three, I would take a
- 55:08Speaker 1: flyer on him more than the other two. Chark is
- 55:12Speaker 1: a guy who I really wanted him last year, or
- 55:17Speaker 1: it might have been two years ago, but he just
- 55:20Speaker 1: really he doesn't stay healthy. He can't really established himself
- 55:25Speaker 1: as as a next level guy. I think he is
- 55:27Speaker 1: what he is. I think he's like a two slash three.
- 55:29Speaker 1: And I think Jacoby Myers is a better player than Juju.
- 55:32Speaker 1: But I'm really curious as to why we can't sign
- 55:36Speaker 1: Judrew Smith Schuster from Alex. I think that he's not,
- 55:40Speaker 1: like you just said, not really better than Jacoby, but
- 55:43Speaker 1: way more problematic. He's like TikTok boy, Like, look at
- 55:47Speaker 1: the drama he's causing off the field. That wouldn't fly
- 55:49Speaker 1: here him tweeting at a J. Brown and making me like,
- 55:53Speaker 1: I don't know, I just don't want that energy anywhere near. Yeah,
- 55:56Speaker 1: that wouldn't be That wouldn't be a reason for me.
- 55:58Speaker 1: That's fight. That wouldn't boy. No, I don't. Well, maybe
- 56:04Speaker 1: it's because I don't watch TikTok so he doesn't bother me.
- 56:08Speaker 1: He plays really hard. Um, I think he competes when
- 56:11Speaker 1: he's on the field. That's all I care about is
- 56:13Speaker 1: what he does in football. Um. I had a guy
- 56:15Speaker 1: on our team last year that was tweeting about couldn't
- 56:18Speaker 1: wait to go home while they were on a on
- 56:20Speaker 1: a on a trip. So like, I'd rather have a
- 56:23Speaker 1: guy who's maybe having some fun, sometimes crossing the line,
- 56:26Speaker 1: but playing really hard than a guy who's just really
- 56:29Speaker 1: looking forward to how fast can we get out of
- 56:31Speaker 1: here so I can go home. That's that's the way
- 56:33Speaker 1: I look at it now. Smith Schuster had like nine
- 56:36Speaker 1: hundred yards last year for Kansas City. Um, so he's
- 56:39Speaker 1: not a stiff. But I like Myers better. I think
- 56:43Speaker 1: he's younger. I think not not that much younger, but
- 56:46Speaker 1: I think he's younger and already has a relationship with
- 56:49Speaker 1: Mac Jones. Both. Can you keep mind if you want
- 56:52Speaker 1: to be average? Yeah, why because you're just adding more
- 56:56Speaker 1: average receivers. I like Myers because he works with Mac Jones.
- 56:59Speaker 1: I mean you're getting rid of maybe Agalore, for example.
- 57:01Speaker 1: I don't think that's really much of a change, all right, point, Yeah,
- 57:05Speaker 1: didn't have a lot of My point is it's not
- 57:07Speaker 1: a big enough upgrade to bring his downside. Yeah, Agalo
- 57:10Speaker 1: didn't have a lot of production. But that's the way
- 57:13Speaker 1: I look at him. Is it like he's a two
- 57:15Speaker 1: slash three just like those guys Bornalo Parker. They're all
- 57:19Speaker 1: the same. To me, Mike in La, which beat writer
- 57:22Speaker 1: do you believe usually nails the Patriots draft picks? We
- 57:25Speaker 1: need to start having these writers on a big board
- 57:27Speaker 1: with their stats next to them. Nobody. Yeah, nobody nails
- 57:30Speaker 1: anybody's draft picks. In the regular media, there's like Scott,
- 57:34Speaker 1: like like a Daniel Jeremiah is really good at identifying
- 57:38Speaker 1: the players in and whatnot. But in terms of like
- 57:42Speaker 1: mock drafts, no one's really good at it, and they're
- 57:45Speaker 1: all just copying each other's same names. Maybe there's a
- 57:48Speaker 1: little shift, but I mean they're looking at, oh, we
- 57:51Speaker 1: had a good connection or this connection, and they're just
- 57:54Speaker 1: you know, it's nobody has any intel, like we talked
- 57:57Speaker 1: about earlier, you know, Google, Scott, you know, Rich Goslin
- 58:02Speaker 1: and Will McDonough had intel. They actually talked to people
- 58:07Speaker 1: and they had I think Robert McGinn is supposedly really
- 58:10Speaker 1: good in Green Bay, yeah at that kind of stuff.
- 58:13Speaker 1: But Mike and I actually had a decent first round
- 58:16Speaker 1: mock last year. Yeah, where we had we had pretty much.
- 58:19Speaker 1: I think we had something like twenty eight out of
- 58:20Speaker 1: the thirty two guys that went in the first round,
- 58:22Speaker 1: and we had a significant amount of hits. But it
- 58:25Speaker 1: was a blind squirrel exactly exactly. Now we've we've done that,
- 58:30Speaker 1: like we had I had Ty Warren, we had um
- 58:35Speaker 1: Chandler Jones, we had um Nate Solder. I didn't have him.
- 58:41Speaker 1: I think Andy had him. There's been a handful of
- 58:44Speaker 1: hits that we had, but it's like Fred said, it's
- 58:47Speaker 1: just you know, like you guys just talked about, it's
- 58:51Speaker 1: all the same names and then you happen to get
- 58:53Speaker 1: lucky and get the right one that the Patriots end
- 58:56Speaker 1: up picking. Yep, all right, we're gonna take a break.

- 1:08:55Speaker 1: at St. Thomas the Apostle School in New Jersey. Ronald
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: Robins came back a fight or will you be? What
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: happens was we would always have it. There was always
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: two groups. One group played keep away and then the
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: other groups group would played football. Probably shouldn't say one
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: group was played football. So one time I was in
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: the group playing keep away and Ronald Robinson in the
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: football say, oh you guys are pussy's playing that game?
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: Everything so then so then a couple of weeks ago,
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: it was opposite. We were the ones playing football and
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: they were playing keep away and I said to them, oh,
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: who's who's the pussy now? So Ronal Robinson, who was
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: tall at that time, but then came, you know, you know,
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: we're like, you know, chest to chess. He's like, say
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: that again. I'm like, who's the pussy now? And he
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: and he punched me in the jaw, you know, And
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: I remember, I can remember this like it was yesterday.
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: I remember thinking, you know what, that didn't really hurt
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: that much. And if I attacked so he was a pussy, yeah,
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: just because he said it, okay? And I was thinking
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: to myself, if I attacked him right now, and I
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: kept myself from doing it, and I shouldn't know. I
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: did the same thing to Richie Campanella. I dared him
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: to say something, and I sucked him in the stomach
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: and doubled him over. That's another great moment from I
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: tell you, those Catholic schools they're rough. This Patriots unfielder
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: of the Sopranos. No, it was rough, you know, we
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: literally are. Our Our recess was in a parking lot,
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: so we were playing like tackle football on tar. You know. Um,
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: it was rough in our in our dress shoes, no less,
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: you know, so you come home with holes in your knee.
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: What happened? You know? Got curb stumped at recess. But
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: good money for this uniform, you know, Well that's a problem.
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: We have to wear the same damn thing every day.
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: All right? Five five past five hundred is the a
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: sticke at hotline web radio at Patriots dot com is
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: the email address. So all on the table today. Um,
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: obviously combine is front and center, but we're talking about
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: anything you want. Um, let's see what is Todd in
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: North Carolina? Want to talk about? What's up? Todd? I'm gonna,
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: as a very long time listener, I'm gonna have to
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: agree with mister Prilo. You've had I think that I
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: can count one miss and yeah, but you don't know
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: from what all the people. I mean, like hundreds have
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: passed through. A couple of seventh round picks, a couple
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: undrafted free agents didn't work out. I mean no, no,
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: no quality acquisitions by you didn't. I'm a little bit more,
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: you know, critical of myself. I've had some misses, but
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: I'm proud of those that I didn't like, the Mike ess,
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: and he overcame a lot of challenges to get where
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: he is, you know, those little attitude. You know, he's very,
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: very hurtful. Anyway, I've been thinking about the draft and everything,
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: and I love the way everybody predicts, you know, we
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: should do this, and then they go, wow, we shouldn't,
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: we should not, don't worry about the draft, we need
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: to trade for all this, and we really just don't know.
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: I think I don't know who said it, but somebody said,
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: you just you can't predict a what a team is
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: gonna do, and you really can't predict what what Bill's
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: gonna do, Like nobody thought strange in the first round
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: last year. So I think the only thing that the
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: fans really can do is just that down't wait, right
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: and not irritates you know, don't even irritate Parolo because
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: he still gets to growch even those off seasons. Yeah right, yeah,
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: And I also going to do so and I think,
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: you know, we've identified the needs and I think we
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: just wait and see and yeah, we get to tackle
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: a receiver, we're good to go. Yeah, listen, all right, thanks.
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: I mean the way the league is these days, it
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: really it's all about the offense. You know, can this
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: offense improve? I don't care how they do it. I
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: don't care if they do it through the draft, trade,
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: free agency, but they've got to get with it. You know. Again,
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: we heard and I forget the player or players at
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: the end of the season. I think just recently it's
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: Combine talking about the Patriots offense how there wasn't anyone
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: that you really had to worry about or any hold
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: the police. I'll get you the quote. Yeah, anything they
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: were doing that was, you know, something that you couldn't
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: adjust to very quickly. I'm tired of hearing that because that,
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: you know, we went twenty years with that not being
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: the case that Patriots stress defenses. They always had answers,
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: they were adjust you know, and that's not the case.
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: And you know, I don't really need anyone to say it.
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: We can see it. We can see it. But this
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: is the quote because this is in line with Fred's favorite,
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: you know, mantra about how easy the Patriots are to defend.
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: And I always argue with him, but it's because they
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: don't have players that win matchups. Um. Mike Giardi says
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: a few Patriots gathered notes from the combine. Talk to
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: one DC who competed against the Pats this year. He
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: told me their quote wasn't a matchup we feared end quote.
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: Asked him what that allowed his defense to do quote everything.
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: There was nothing we had to take off the table.
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: Another quote. There was a simplicity to the scheme, and
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: while there are plenty of good players there. He really
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: liked myers. We felt like we could solve any problems
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: they presented quickly. So coaching and players. Yeah, from a
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: quarterback coach I spoke with m he noted that they
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: viewed josh Uch as a quote problem and added that
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: he finds it hard to envision the Patriots secondary without
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: Devin mccordy. He can still play, quote said the quarterback
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: coach added that they viewed the Patriots cornerbacks as competitive,
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: but not outstanding. Yeah, so there are problems on both
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: sides of the ball, but specifically there were problems on offense.
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: And we you know, that's not any earth shattering news,
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: but when you hear quotes like that from from coaches
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: that competed against you a team, there's a lot of
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: work to do. I think it's more than adding a
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: tackle in a receiver. That everything was on the table.
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: But like you know, you know, like what you've been,
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: you know, banging the table for Paul is you know,
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: better players, and you get better players, and then you
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: can have better schemes. And conversely, if you have better
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: coaching slash schemes, you can make the plays you have better.
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: You know. But I would argue that most of the
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: stuff that they've done that works has been schemed up.
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: Now you could if you listen to the guys talking
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: in Kansas City, Travis Kelsey says, Andy Reid does it all. Yeah,
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: he schemes me open all the time. Well, and look
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: at what they did in the Super Bowl with the
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: two touchdowns that they had exactly on opposite side, you know,
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: sides of the field, same play, basically different player, but
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: they scheme that guy wide open against a really good defense.
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: You know. Yeah, So it's it's undeniable what you need
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: to do to win in this league. Ethan in Indiana,
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: I wanted to give my two cents on Mac Jones,
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: as I think you guys can be too critic of him,
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: especially when it comes to his mobility in the pocket.
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: There were plenty of this show. Yeah, there were plenty
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: of teams throughout the season that he was able to
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: move around in the pocket make a great throw down
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: the field, either on the run or off balance. A
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: few games I remember our Steelers, Cardinals, Bengals where he
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: had really good pocket awareness. I think with a better
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: OC and better protection planning, this is one of his
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: underrated traits. I can see him excelling and proving that
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: he isn't just a statue in the pocket. I don't
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: think that's one of the criticisms. Oh, it's criticism for me,
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: and I would argue, show me the place that you're
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: talking about. Now, he's had some really good plays where
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: he's avoided pressure. That's not what he said. He said
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: throwing on the run and making plays downfield outside the pocket.
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: I would argue, show me those plays, Okay, all right,
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: I would argue, that's where the interceptions come from when
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: he's off platform. Correct. Let's see Nat and Santa Cruz.
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: Which of the unfiltered hosts do you think gets the
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: most airtime speaking Paul, Mike, Fred Scott from Wellesley or
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: Mark from Bolton. You left out the end. You left
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: out the end. I think he's just basically on today. Seriously, though, Pe,
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: you should put a limit on whiney callers. It'll be
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: like the pitch clock in baseball A kind yeah, and
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: then he says, except replaced P with B. I see
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: what you did there the pitch clock. Listen. Well, it's
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: a podcast. We have one commercial break, if you know.
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: Sometimes we let our callers go a little longer than
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: you would hear time. It's fine. You know other guys talk.
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: When you hear me start like mumbling and like okay,
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: then you know that I'm trying to wrap it up.
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: Fred will have his button on the hang up or
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: his finger on the hang up button, like the last
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: thirty seconds of a call. Um. Let's see tim our friend.
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: I don't think he's with Duncan anymore. He's with another company.
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: But he says, would you prefer DeAndre Hopkins or Randon Cooks,
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: realizing that it would probably take more for Hopkins, like
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: a second round pick or a third or fourth for Cooks.
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: So second round pick for Hopkins, so you have to
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: give up less for Cooks than Hopkins? Who do you take?
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: M Hopkins? Hopkins? But I would like to This is
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: gonna sound silly. Both of those guys would be upgrades.
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: They're both talented players. Can we get someone younger? I know? Yeah, yeah,
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: I love the Combine coverage with Evan and Mike. What
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: did you think of the Duncan Super Bowl commercial? Oh?
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: With j Loo? Yeah, that was good. Was anybody else
- 1:18:39Speaker 1: in that commercial? I'm not aware that a fleck? Oh? No,
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: I didn't see m Oh because you're Paul's a big
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: big she's a big Paul fan too, Is that right? Really? Oh? Yeah,
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: she listens, she's sang right to me. And the post
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: game party, were you there? No? I wasn't there at
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: what are you shaking your head out there saying? Oh,
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: you're so lucky? I was like, it would be even
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: luckier if it happened. I was like five feet away
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: from her. Once she smelled lovely, really lovely. Oh, I
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: thought you were gonna you're just gonna shatter my image. No, never,
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: she was so sweet. She is a smoker, So I
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: thought you're gonna say something like river or something smelling it? Now,
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: what do you think she smells like? Look at her?
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: I don't know. Like if it was after upset, she
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: could be all sweaty and it was when it was
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: when she was with a Rod Musty and a Rod
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: was doing was it Monday night or Sunday night baseball?
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: I forget whatever. She would travel with him to every
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: remember about road City and I was just in the
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: dug out or no, the locker room one day and
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: Jayla was just like in the clubhouse. Oh wow, big fan.
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: H Let's see Ray in Pennsylvania. No YouTube stream today, No,
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: we had some technical problems. Sorry about that. Also from
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: Tuesday's show, there used to be a great moment in
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: PFW history where Andy and Fred fought about lobster bisk
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: and Fred dropped the link. Well, you don't know from soup,
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: you don't know from Super Classic anyway, can't wait to
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: support my first run PU shirt. Yeah, you were one
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: of the winners. Yeah, so let's do one. Yeah, let's
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: give away a T shirt right now. So the first
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: person who emails to web radiopagris dot com the correct
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: answer will win a T shirts. Email your home address
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: so Matt can send it out. Let's see, here's one.
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: What did Wes Welker once call Matt Castle on this show?
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: What did Wes Welker once call Matt Castle? While he
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: was a guest on this show. So well, the email
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: is opened up web Radiopagrees dot com. First person who
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: has the correct answer to that question will win a
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: T shirt. So that's a little bit more challenging. Yeah,
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: most of the ones we had, but a regular listener
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: would know that. Okay, um, I see some coming in already,
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: and so far no correct answers. So all right, postgame party,
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: Paul is showing me photos of Jlo on his phone
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: right now. It's like they keep telling me you don't
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: have enough storage space, you can't back up your phone.
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: I don't care. Those aren't going anywhere. He keeps buying
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: the upgraded data plans. I haven't been able to back
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: up my phone for a while, so sooner or later
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: I'm gonna lose everything. So we'll do this one until
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: one twenty five one five. So you got yeah, and
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: we don't. You don't need to have exactly the right
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: words that Matt Castle that West Welker used to describe
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: Matt Castle. But you get get us in the ball yeah,
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: get us in the ballpark. And no Scott from UK
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: he didn't call him gay. Oh yeah, you see, that's
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: not what we're looking for. Here we had two of those.
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: Huh yeah, uh no, Well see here's the thing. Save
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: those emails, because if we don't get the right answer
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: on a technicality, I'd be will because in the same
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: conversation he used that word. Welcer used that word because
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: you and Andy set me up. If you remember and
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: you said, you know, what would you say if you
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: were described as a nice little player and West said
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: nice little player? I don't know, it's kinda and to
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: use that term. That wasn't about Matt Castle. That was
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: about himself, right right, right, that was about himself. And
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: that's why if no one gets the Matt Castle reference,
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: I'd be willing to give it to the person the
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: first person to used that word. That we don't use
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: that anymore. Yes, I know that must have been an
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: old show. It's like oh eight, Calvin writes in quick
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: appreciation post for Evan what a great hire used to
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: listen to him on his Clinnis YouTube stuff. If I
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: were a Pat's front off this guy? What Clinis sailing us?
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: What I've never heard seal on us pronounced Clinton? Because
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: no one's ever done. Maddie cracking up just made me
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: cracked up. Uh. If I was a front office guy,
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: I would hire him as some type of roster consultant.
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: No joke. One guy that I wondered about for him,
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: Jake Bobo, I think would be a Travis Kelsey type
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: in the passing game, even though he's definitely not a
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: tight end. I'm out on Jacoby too, love him, It's
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: just not good for either side. If he's here at
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: fifteen to twenty million. You're gonna have to pay somebody. Why. Yeah,
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: Like I'm not I'm not arguing with you, but but
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: but why is it not good If you don't think
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: he's a good player? Fine, yeah, but that's what whoever
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: you get to replace him, yeah, is gonna make that. See,
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: I'm not looking at paying Jacoby Meyers fifteen sixteen million
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: dollars prohibitive of getting anybody else. I think you can
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: do that. And but I think that people. You know
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: a lot of people around here, and this is not
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: a why, this is not everybody, This is not one
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: of those everybody things, but a lot of people and
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: we still get the questions, it's my week for the
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: mail bag, What god do you think we can get
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: on a short term prove it to me deal? Filling
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: the blank for position, like, why are we looking for that? Yeah?
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: Why are we not just looking for like the Mike
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: Thomas thing? Why are we looking for Mike Thomas Because
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: he's restructured his contracts several times and you can get
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: him on the cheap. I want a guy who's justin
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: Jefferson like, and I don't care if I have to
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: pay him. I won a talented guy who's commands a
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: lot of money, and you're willing to give a lot
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: of money, and you know he's good. Now, if you
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: think Jacoby Myers isn't that good, I'm not going to
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: argue with you, but I'm just telling you, whatever you
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: get to replace Jacobe Myers is going to make that
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: amount of money if you're getting a similar player. Now,
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: if you want to downgrade and get a guy on
- 1:24:52Speaker 1: the cheap, you'll get a guy in the cheap. You
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: can get a guy for six million and get nothing
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: out of it. Do we have a correct answer there, Matt, No, Okay,
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: So it's good closed hold on to those Yeah, give
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: it give it to the guy who the first guy
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: who used that word that we don't use anymore. Um
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: So the correct dance around that one out is West
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: Welker called Matt Castle a tall, skinny bench warmer. The
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: first person to use that word was Matt in California,
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: So you should send it California because he's right. That's
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: that conversation. That's exactly how it started. Fred and Andy
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: couldn't wait for West to sit down so they could
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: make fun of me because I was very I was
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: very opposed to the West Welker signing. Again, this is
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: what we're open books here. I'll tell you when I miss.
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: And of course they had they had to tell him
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: right away out. They had to get it all right away.
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: Looking a man in the eyes that looked I think
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: he was sitting right where you are and I, oh, yeah,
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: every once in a while you miss. I think I
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: did one of those. But he was great. It's not
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: like you didn't still think he wasn't good at the time.
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: That's what I said everyone. I said, every once in
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: a while, you miss, What are you gonna do? When
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: he left like he was, I wouldn't say that we
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: were all like really close like because the players of
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: the players and where us at the time, we used
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: to do. We used to have more interaction with the
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: players at the time, and it's got progressively worse. I
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: think I think he knew us well enough to know, like,
- 1:26:17Speaker 1: that's that's kind of funny that he said that. And
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: he's like, I don't know, it's a kind of you
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: know that word, yeah, which I'm not really sure why
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: you can't say. But when Gerard Mayo was on the show,
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: he called me a racist. He was on kidding but yeah,
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: I remember that. Yeah. Remember Richard Seymour was talking about
- 1:26:36Speaker 1: the uh he was talking about his contract negotiations, is like,
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: you know, we're gonna get the the stimulus package was
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: when like the big the bush like stimulus package was
- 1:26:47Speaker 1: going in. He was like, we were looking for the
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: stimulus package. Yeah, well who cares? All right? So, um,
- 1:26:58Speaker 1: from the combine, which is going on right now as
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: you know, Uh, Deuce is calling in, Deuce, what's up?
- 1:27:05Speaker 1: Deuce from the scooter, What is up? Guys? Hey, we
- 1:27:09Speaker 1: are here, we are grinding. I don't know what day
- 1:27:12Speaker 1: it is or I've just taught they just drink football
- 1:27:14Speaker 1: players out and we talked about I'm losing my mind
- 1:27:17Speaker 1: hand No, that's great. Yeah, yeah, So, um, you know
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: we saw your wrap up from yesterday. Um, Uh, you know,
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: the big news, of course is the kid from Georgia.
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: But it sounds like that might work it, you know,
- 1:27:30Speaker 1: out for him. It won't be, But I don't know
- 1:27:32Speaker 1: what what have you hearing out there? Yeah, that's I
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: think that's the big question right now. I mean, I
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: know a lot of people talking about Todd mcshae having
- 1:27:40Speaker 1: me in full ahead of time and all that kind
- 1:27:42Speaker 1: of stuff going on. But um, you know, I think
- 1:27:44Speaker 1: we talked about it, Evan, and I just I mean,
- 1:27:46Speaker 1: there's certainly an impact if he doesn't go in the
- 1:27:48Speaker 1: top fourteen picks, you know, in thirteen picks before the Patriots,
- 1:27:51Speaker 1: as everyone kind of expects them to. Um. But I
- 1:27:54Speaker 1: would just say, you know, overall today we got to
- 1:27:57Speaker 1: look at all these cornerbacks and I mean just we've
- 1:27:59Speaker 1: talked about it plenty to need at that position, and
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: there are just you know, so many guys that you
- 1:28:03Speaker 1: really like. Um. I thought Joey Porter Junior did an
- 1:28:06Speaker 1: outstanding job today. Uh you know, I mean it got
- 1:28:09Speaker 1: directly asked about, you know, the Patriots, and you know said, oh,
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: I think my dad would love me to go to
- 1:28:13Speaker 1: a you know, an organization like that that's well run.
- 1:28:16Speaker 1: So um, now you know, it was also asked about
- 1:28:18Speaker 1: the Ravens had a similar answer. I blessed to end
- 1:28:20Speaker 1: up anywhere. Um. You know, it's just really impressed with him,
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: and just overall the depth of this cornerback group. It
- 1:28:26Speaker 1: feels like they need to get at least a couple
- 1:28:28Speaker 1: of these guys in the first two days. And I
- 1:28:30Speaker 1: think it really could, you know, over overhaul that position
- 1:28:32Speaker 1: group with some guys that are big, physical and you know,
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: can play with. They don't really have those body types
- 1:28:38Speaker 1: right now on the last So you're thinking they should
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: pick at least two cornerbacks in the first three rounds.
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: Is that what you're saying? I mean, I I wouldn't
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: be against it. Okay, there's a lot of really good
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: guys here, a lot of physical, big guys. Uh. You know,
- 1:28:51Speaker 1: it's just you talk about a need. I mean, of course,
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: I'll probably be singing a different story Fred tomorrow when
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: I see the wide receiversing another story when I see
- 1:28:58Speaker 1: the offensive back on Saturday. Right, recency bias? What about
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: what about Witherspoon, Mike, did you get to see him today? Interesting? Paul,
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: So we're waiting on him, waiting on him waiting on him,
- 1:29:09Speaker 1: and they had told us, you know, for the last group,
- 1:29:11Speaker 1: guys are usually coming from medical, so just you know,
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: be prepared for a little bit of a delay. And
- 1:29:15Speaker 1: then finally somebody came out and said he is getting
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: an MRI and we'll have to go sometime later. Um.
- 1:29:21Speaker 1: So you know, off the top three guys Christian and Dollars,
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: Joey Porter Jr. And him. Um, a little bit of
- 1:29:26Speaker 1: a you know a little bit of a question mark now.
- 1:29:28Speaker 1: Um there with Witherspoon, who's just you know, super physical
- 1:29:31Speaker 1: guy working people up all over all over the place.
- 1:29:35Speaker 1: That's interesting. Um, anything else of note, you know, I know,
- 1:29:40Speaker 1: uh GMS, you know they wrapped up yesterday. Um, but
- 1:29:45Speaker 1: you know anybody walking around the halls that you saw
- 1:29:47Speaker 1: that of note? You know, anybody interesting from other teams
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: or you know. It was fun. I finally you know,
- 1:29:54Speaker 1: I have a friend in common with with Rich Eisen,
- 1:29:56Speaker 1: so I got to finally meet him. You know, it's
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: the personal thing, but I was cool. He's very Paul's right, Yeah,
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: not my brother, he's my friend's brother in law. Yeah.
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: I didn't realize that. Yeah, but he was very nice. Um.
- 1:30:12Speaker 1: We actually we live it and I recorded, you know,
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: the wrap Up podcast. We actually talked to Mike rodac
- 1:30:16Speaker 1: um and and got about ten minutes with him. Um,
- 1:30:19Speaker 1: just talking about Bill O'Brien and you know, the offense
- 1:30:22Speaker 1: and some of the Alabama prospects as well. UM. So yeah, otherwise, UM,
- 1:30:26Speaker 1: we saw special teams guys. I know, I know this
- 1:30:28Speaker 1: is probably where Paul goes to get a pepsi. Um,
- 1:30:31Speaker 1: but you know the guy from Michigan who won MVP
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: at the Shrine Bowl. Um, you know, just a lot
- 1:30:35Speaker 1: of a lot of guys you just can't help. But
- 1:30:37Speaker 1: over here as you're walking around guys that were at
- 1:30:39Speaker 1: the Prime Bowl, half our coaches there are are special teamers,
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: so that you guys should be paying attention to those guys.
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: Any any scuttle butt there on that, Mike, Yeah, I
- 1:30:48Speaker 1: know that. You know there's a lot of Patriots you know,
- 1:30:50Speaker 1: uh media there, Um, any scuttle butt us to you know,
- 1:30:55Speaker 1: the whereabouts of the Patriots coach is why they've decided
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: to do it the way they've done it. Yeah. No, really,
- 1:31:01Speaker 1: I mean I've definitely been catching up with you know,
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: talking a little bit with Andrew Tawham marketing of those
- 1:31:06Speaker 1: guys are all out here. It's weird because we keep
- 1:31:09Speaker 1: kind of like getting bits and pieces of it, and
- 1:31:11Speaker 1: you know, all of a sudden, somebody's like, oh, the
- 1:31:12Speaker 1: Greg Hills Show tweeted this, and oh, now it's confirmed
- 1:31:16Speaker 1: that Bill isn't there. So hasn't really been a topic
- 1:31:19Speaker 1: that has been you know, talked about while we're trying
- 1:31:21Speaker 1: to like hustle and yeah, Curtis, Curtis screwed something up
- 1:31:24Speaker 1: this morning from The Greg Hill Show. He got confirmation
- 1:31:28Speaker 1: from Stacy that Bill wasn't there, and he misread the
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: tweet the text and said that he was. Then he
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: corrected himself shortly thereafter. Where in the world is wal though?
- 1:31:41Speaker 1: Where's the right? So? I mean, I think someone said
- 1:31:44Speaker 1: it's the first time that Bill's not gone. I don't
- 1:31:47Speaker 1: think that's accurate. I think there have been other times
- 1:31:49Speaker 1: that he hasn't gone. But I do find it interesting
- 1:31:52Speaker 1: that he's not there, and I'm not really sure why.
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: And I also find it I always find it interesting
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: when people all all over themselves to say why it's
- 1:32:01Speaker 1: not a big deal that they're not there. Um, somehow
- 1:32:04Speaker 1: they did it wrong all those years they won the
- 1:32:06Speaker 1: title by going, um, but um, I just think it's
- 1:32:10Speaker 1: interesting that reportedly there are only four Patriots coaches there.
- 1:32:13Speaker 1: I think it's Troy kma Cord, Joe Houston, and uh Pellegrino.
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: I think those four guys are the only four coaches.
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: Now that this scout's there and you know, personnel people
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: and they have access to all the the interviews and
- 1:32:29Speaker 1: whatnot that they're doing. I don't think it's a huge deal. Yeah, no,
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: And I was talking a little bit about Evan and
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: I mean just you know, other than Adrian Clem, it's
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: it's you know, Pellegrino, cornerback, big need, good class, Troy Brown,
- 1:32:41Speaker 1: wide receivers, big need. Um. You know. So but I
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: being no, Look, I'm with you guys, just as far
- 1:32:46Speaker 1: as everybody's here, everybody's walking around, there's you know, it
- 1:32:49Speaker 1: just you know, Kevin o'conneyesterday sitting right next to us
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: doing a radio hit with the Vikings. So you know,
- 1:32:54Speaker 1: it's just it's it is a little bit weird not
- 1:32:56Speaker 1: to see you know, the whole the whole contingent here.
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: But you know, really at this point, the whole party
- 1:32:59Speaker 1: is kind of moved over to the stadium where the
- 1:33:02Speaker 1: testing will begin this afternoon with the defensive linemen and linebackers.
- 1:33:05Speaker 1: So it's kind of clearing out a little bit here,
- 1:33:07Speaker 1: So a little inside baseball while we're on the air.
- 1:33:11Speaker 1: Is there anything that we aren't doing that we should
- 1:33:13Speaker 1: be doing from a content standpoint? You know, are other
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: teams like doing radio and is it really good or
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: like what you know, like anything that you want to
- 1:33:22Speaker 1: you know, yeah, yeah, I think it's we were actually
- 1:33:24Speaker 1: was just talking to h Bradley about that here and um,
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: you know, certainly a lot of the teams here have
- 1:33:29Speaker 1: like permanent radio setups and they are just here doing radio.
- 1:33:33Speaker 1: They're not really talking to any of the prospects. Um,
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: they're just doing radio shows. And every guest you know
- 1:33:38Speaker 1: that they can grab it is coming on their shows.
- 1:33:40Speaker 1: So well, who are the guests, like guests from other teams?
- 1:33:44Speaker 1: Oh just um, you know NFL network people. Um, you
- 1:33:48Speaker 1: know you're talking you know, yeah, yeah, media on media
- 1:33:53Speaker 1: mostly but um, but you know, as as I said
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: to Evan, and you know, we're you know, we're certainly
- 1:33:58Speaker 1: recording and we've had a guest you know, we've been
- 1:34:00Speaker 1: trying to get some guests here. But otherwise, I mean,
- 1:34:02Speaker 1: our focus is also getting to know these guys and
- 1:34:04Speaker 1: writing about them, and you know, over the next two
- 1:34:07Speaker 1: months when we're here, when we're I say, hey, you know,
- 1:34:09Speaker 1: now I've I've listened to Joey Porter juniors talk. I
- 1:34:12Speaker 1: feel like a kind of a better sense to him. So,
- 1:34:14Speaker 1: you know, I see a lot of value in that.
- 1:34:15Speaker 1: But otherwise I've just uh, it's been pretty cool to
- 1:34:17Speaker 1: see a lot of the reactions to some of the
- 1:34:19Speaker 1: content we've been churning out. I don't know if you
- 1:34:21Speaker 1: saw that behind the scenes video that we put together
- 1:34:24Speaker 1: with me riding a scooter, but but that was a
- 1:34:26Speaker 1: lot of fun. I haven't seen that. That's why I said,
- 1:34:28Speaker 1: Mike from the scooter con in did that just go up?
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: Or when? When? Oh god, Fred, you haven't you got
- 1:34:33Speaker 1: to watch it? Okay? I was the special appearance of
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: NFL Networks. Mike gi already, Okay, all right, I think
- 1:34:39Speaker 1: we're going to try to air it during the video show,
- 1:34:41Speaker 1: but apparently but that's not happening. Okay, I can't wait. Okay,
- 1:34:45Speaker 1: that's that's on Patriots dot com. Now, it's definitely up
- 1:34:50Speaker 1: on YouTube, Patriots YouTube. So if you want to see,
- 1:34:53Speaker 1: you know, a little behind the scenes a little you know,
- 1:34:55Speaker 1: what's it really like here? Um, you know, two minutes
- 1:34:58Speaker 1: with me, I think I think it's pretty fun. Uh.
- 1:35:00Speaker 1: And food any any food updates any place you've eaten that?
- 1:35:04Speaker 1: All right? So yeah, so let's let's let's get into
- 1:35:06Speaker 1: the rail stuff here because yuh yeah, we're you know,
- 1:35:09Speaker 1: obviously we're we're We're been here four days. So you know,
- 1:35:11Speaker 1: team team Kenny Steak for every meal. That's me. Um,
- 1:35:15Speaker 1: you know, pooping out a little bit. We had a
- 1:35:17Speaker 1: team trip just to walk to Chipotle. I mean even
- 1:35:19Speaker 1: Chipole now sounds to break from Prime Rib every night. Um.
- 1:35:24Speaker 1: But uh, but you know, we had half our team
- 1:35:26Speaker 1: go back and you know, I don't want to give
- 1:35:27Speaker 1: too much away, but you know I was. I was
- 1:35:31Speaker 1: a nice guy. You know. We have some car issues here,
- 1:35:33Speaker 1: so and a lot of equipment. So hey, somebody's got
- 1:35:35Speaker 1: to drive as half the team to the airport. At
- 1:35:38Speaker 1: seven a m. This morning, Big Duce stepped up. Um.
- 1:35:41Speaker 1: But you know, one of the members of the team
- 1:35:43Speaker 1: and I'm not going to say who, probably not who
- 1:35:45Speaker 1: you think, Uh couldn't get him, couldn't get him or
- 1:35:48Speaker 1: her on the phone. Uh, couldn't knock on his door.
- 1:35:52Speaker 1: They're not picking up the door. Had to get a
- 1:35:55Speaker 1: wellness check. We at the hotel to break them in,
- 1:35:58Speaker 1: at which point they found some that he faced down
- 1:36:00Speaker 1: on their beds in their full clothes. No, I know
- 1:36:04Speaker 1: who it was. It's the last person you would ever think.
- 1:36:07Speaker 1: Oh boy, that's accurate, the last person you would ever think.
- 1:36:10Speaker 1: It all worked out fine. Everyone got to the airport
- 1:36:12Speaker 1: and then got back on the way. But a little
- 1:36:15Speaker 1: bit of a little bit of drama there for Team
- 1:36:16Speaker 1: Patriots content he okay, remember that was me Matt in Philadelphia.
- 1:36:24Speaker 1: Oh boy, all right, well we'll deal with that. Lady
- 1:36:27Speaker 1: hers for you, Paul, all right, du well, keep up
- 1:36:31Speaker 1: the great work, and the world is watching. It makes
- 1:36:33Speaker 1: an a vegetable down there. Eh yeah, Oh, I'm there's
- 1:36:37Speaker 1: plenty of time for vegetables when you come home. It's
- 1:36:39Speaker 1: maybe being soup count maybe, yeah, I know, Deuce is craving,
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: is Jennifer Anderson salad? Yeah? My last thing that was
- 1:36:46Speaker 1: just shout out, shout out, Paul. You know, I would
- 1:36:47Speaker 1: have liked would like to. I can't help it. Reminisce
- 1:36:50Speaker 1: about you know, our first days here and you know,
- 1:36:52Speaker 1: drinking those lukewarm bud lights down in the preevies. So
- 1:36:56Speaker 1: so yeah, Paul definitely definitely missed his presence on his
- 1:36:58Speaker 1: chip for chip. You're nice. I heard this. There's been
- 1:37:02Speaker 1: some changes to that so that he is not out
- 1:37:04Speaker 1: of beer. Is that right? Well, it's not ticket based,
- 1:37:07Speaker 1: but yeah, lucky like I am, some random dude just
- 1:37:09Speaker 1: might walk up handful of ticket. I'm not sure what
- 1:37:12Speaker 1: what what what he was expecting in return for those Oh,
- 1:37:15Speaker 1: I'm guessing I'm gonna find out tonight. Oh. I don't
- 1:37:18Speaker 1: want to see you end up face down in your bed.
- 1:37:20Speaker 1: What is going on over there? I don't like it.
- 1:37:23Speaker 1: I heard this has been an elite trip. Oh boy,
- 1:37:27Speaker 1: the Indian trip is underrated. Fun. I will say, I
- 1:37:29Speaker 1: get a feeling. I get a call from HR and
- 1:37:31Speaker 1: someone who did it for twenty years in a row.
- 1:37:33Speaker 1: All right, thanks duce. All right, guys, we'll talk to
- 1:37:36Speaker 1: you quick. All right? Bye? Yeah, all right, um things
- 1:37:40Speaker 1: I didn't want to hear on a call. Let's go
- 1:37:42Speaker 1: to Eldred in North Carolina. What's up to Eldred? Thanks fells. Hello, lady,
- 1:37:47Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I'm not in the truck. I'm off now. Okay,
- 1:37:50Speaker 1: that's all right, I'll call I'll called part of the broadcast.
- 1:37:54Speaker 1: Oh can I ask you a question anytime? Sir? All right,
- 1:37:57Speaker 1: sir um. Do you feel that a good prospect is
- 1:38:02Speaker 1: somebody that this system or good process, somebody that you
- 1:38:06Speaker 1: can fit into ours? Well, I would rather have I
- 1:38:12Speaker 1: if you have a really talented guy that you think
- 1:38:15Speaker 1: you can fit into your system, That's what I'd rather have.
- 1:38:18Speaker 1: But it doesn't make any sense to have a guy
- 1:38:20Speaker 1: who's really talented who you know won't fit into your system.
- 1:38:25Speaker 1: You know what I mean to me? That only works
- 1:38:26Speaker 1: on defense. If a guy's really talented and he's on offense,
- 1:38:30Speaker 1: you adjust your system for him. Yeah, that's what I said.
- 1:38:35Speaker 1: I'd rather have a guy who's really talented who I
- 1:38:37Speaker 1: can fit into the system. No, but but I don't.
- 1:38:40Speaker 1: I don't want a guy who I can't use like
- 1:38:43Speaker 1: it doesn't matter if he's the fastest guy on the planet,
- 1:38:45Speaker 1: if he can't do what I need him to do. No,
- 1:38:47Speaker 1: I know, but on offense, not of any use of man. See,
- 1:38:50Speaker 1: if if a guy's really talented and he's an offensive player,
- 1:38:54Speaker 1: you figure it out, like even you figure it out.
- 1:38:57Speaker 1: You know the guy can catch and run. Okay, let's
- 1:39:00Speaker 1: figure let's get him the ball. Guys are great running back,
- 1:39:03Speaker 1: let's give him, you know, like I don't. I don't
- 1:39:05Speaker 1: see where a system would preclude a really talented player
- 1:39:09Speaker 1: from being on your team. I would agree that. I
- 1:39:12Speaker 1: don't think that happened. Think he's gonna be like he
- 1:39:16Speaker 1: knocked down a couple of receivers. Not not a good bia,
- 1:39:19Speaker 1: not a good but just guy. That guy, well I
- 1:39:23Speaker 1: heard him the Yeah, I heard him the other morning
- 1:39:25Speaker 1: talking about the big fifty fifty guys in the Nikkil
- 1:39:29Speaker 1: Harry mold and how they're not going to go there again.
- 1:39:32Speaker 1: Yeah see but that yeah, but but but just yeah right,
- 1:39:36Speaker 1: and and Nikkil Harry couldn't get open and he couldn't
- 1:39:38Speaker 1: run right, Like that's not a really talented guy, right right,
- 1:39:43Speaker 1: Like that's why like that, I'm with Eldred on this.
- 1:39:46Speaker 1: I pushed back on the event, like I'm not against
- 1:39:49Speaker 1: an outside guy because outside guys haven't worked for the Patriots.
- 1:39:53Speaker 1: Make an outside guy worked for you, right, Like, get
- 1:39:57Speaker 1: the right outside guy that can run it open. Yeah.
- 1:40:02Speaker 1: And one one thing I'm gonna leave y'all with I
- 1:40:04Speaker 1: see on Patriots, Uh, I guess is the Facebook page
- 1:40:09Speaker 1: or whatever. This guy keep saying that the gem from Denverston,
- 1:40:13Speaker 1: that's a trade in the place for Jered but Judy
- 1:40:16Speaker 1: with the Patriots. If y'all heard anything like that, guy
- 1:40:19Speaker 1: f I'm not telling you it didn't happen, but I haven't.
- 1:40:24Speaker 1: I don't see anything about it. He's he's like a writer.
- 1:40:26Speaker 1: He's like a writer, but he's not you know, not
- 1:40:28Speaker 1: not a guy. But he's something to do with with Patriots.
- 1:40:31Speaker 1: What you call in said Jerry Judy and In the
- 1:40:34Speaker 1: manager of GM, the GM for denver said nothing like that.
- 1:40:38Speaker 1: I listened to him on Monday. I mean, yeah, Tuesday.
- 1:40:44Speaker 1: I would take a shot at Judy will get my
- 1:40:46Speaker 1: first to Cincinnatis for Higgins. I would do that. Yeah,
- 1:40:50Speaker 1: I don't think he's availables and which you call I
- 1:40:52Speaker 1: wouldn't do it now. I don't think he can go
- 1:40:54Speaker 1: in the way either, because he got a chance with
- 1:40:55Speaker 1: the super Bowl right there. I wouldn't go in no
- 1:40:57Speaker 1: way either. Yeah, you know, but forever, I hope you
- 1:41:00Speaker 1: hear me. Witton Johnson's the guy. I don't care. There's
- 1:41:03Speaker 1: another DCA mitiff. Like I said a couple of years ago, Oka,
- 1:41:06Speaker 1: anybody laughed it all right. You certainly were on the
- 1:41:10Speaker 1: Metcalf train early. Yeah, he was all right. Now. You
- 1:41:15Speaker 1: know a lot of people think, you know, because Sean
- 1:41:17Speaker 1: Payton's over in Denver now, that Bill's just going to
- 1:41:19Speaker 1: be able to go and grab any guy he wants
- 1:41:21Speaker 1: from there. Now, I'd say, I think it's the opposite.
- 1:41:23Speaker 1: I think that had Denver hired a different coach that
- 1:41:29Speaker 1: you know, especially like a defensive coach, there'd be more
- 1:41:33Speaker 1: apt to be willing to get rid of a guy
- 1:41:35Speaker 1: like Jerry Judy. But I think an offensive guy like
- 1:41:38Speaker 1: Sean Payton probably looks at him like first round guy
- 1:41:42Speaker 1: entering his fourth year. He's cheap, we're gonna, we're gonna
- 1:41:45Speaker 1: like play this through. We're gonna we're gonna get something
- 1:41:48Speaker 1: out of this guy. I think that's it's less likely
- 1:41:50Speaker 1: that he's he's available. Uh. Cody writes in I was
- 1:41:55Speaker 1: thinking about my ideal offseason for the Patriots and wanted
- 1:41:58Speaker 1: to hear yours. Pretend Bill says to you, you can
- 1:42:01Speaker 1: make one free agent signing, you can make our first
- 1:42:04Speaker 1: round draft pick, and you can make one trade, and
- 1:42:08Speaker 1: you can extend one current player. If you were the decider,
- 1:42:12Speaker 1: what would you do sign one, draft one, trade one
- 1:42:15Speaker 1: extend one. Here's mine. Free agent signing would be Mike McGlinchey.
- 1:42:20Speaker 1: Draft pick would be Joey Porter Jr. The trade would
- 1:42:23Speaker 1: be the second round pick for Jerry Judy, And you
- 1:42:26Speaker 1: would extend Mike un when you I mean, that's a
- 1:42:29Speaker 1: lot to think about. I can't think about all that.
- 1:42:33Speaker 1: You came up with it pretty quick though, or this
- 1:42:36Speaker 1: is the I mean the free agent signing. Um, how
- 1:42:47Speaker 1: about Orlando Brown? A free agent yet? Orlando Brown, well
- 1:42:51Speaker 1: not until the start of the league here. Yeah, but
- 1:42:53Speaker 1: he's going to be a free agent unless they sign
- 1:42:55Speaker 1: him quickly. Yeah, I mean I think McGlinchey is a
- 1:42:58Speaker 1: good a good candidate for that. Um. Maybe trade I
- 1:43:06Speaker 1: would trade for t Higgins. That would be my trade. Yeah, Um,
- 1:43:12Speaker 1: extends maybe Kyle Dugger. I definitely don't want to extend
- 1:43:17Speaker 1: a guard. We've been down that road before, right, Um,
- 1:43:22Speaker 1: I would extend Kyle Dugger. But there's not really a
- 1:43:24Speaker 1: lot of candidates on that roster that I'm overly interested
- 1:43:28Speaker 1: in the extending, right, Like a guy like Myers that's
- 1:43:30Speaker 1: not considered an extension. That would be a new contract, right, Um.
- 1:43:35Speaker 1: And what's what's the other category trade o the draft pick.
- 1:43:40Speaker 1: I like Joey Porter. I think that's a good pick.
- 1:43:42Speaker 1: Yeah with the first round? Yeah yeah, okay, yeah, I
- 1:43:45Speaker 1: like that. Let's see corner. I could take a corner
- 1:43:50Speaker 1: with that pick. Mitch from Albany, I've caught myself saying
- 1:43:53Speaker 1: good stuff a lot recently, and I've been wondering where
- 1:43:56Speaker 1: the hell it was coming from. Not even fifteen minutes
- 1:43:58Speaker 1: into the show, you guys say good stuff at least twice.
- 1:44:01Speaker 1: I'm really taking in everything from the show. Keep up
- 1:44:04Speaker 1: the good stuff? Do we say that? Maybe we've had
- 1:44:08Speaker 1: a lot of email or not a lot, but a
- 1:44:10Speaker 1: few emailers call right in to criticize us, saying things
- 1:44:15Speaker 1: over and over like you know and something. I appreciate
- 1:44:19Speaker 1: that I keep doing that. I don't want to use
- 1:44:22Speaker 1: those fillers. Well, I just think that's all people talk. Yeah,
- 1:44:26Speaker 1: but when you're on the radio, I think you should
- 1:44:29Speaker 1: not use those on talk radio. Yeah. No, I disagree.
- 1:44:35Speaker 1: You should be conversational, you should speak the way you speak.
- 1:44:38Speaker 1: But I think don't put on don't put on a
- 1:44:40Speaker 1: false air about you like you're more you know. I
- 1:44:43Speaker 1: don't think it means that you're trying to be smarter
- 1:44:46Speaker 1: than you are. But I think people when you're when
- 1:44:48Speaker 1: you're the one who's the host and people who are
- 1:44:50Speaker 1: you're asking people to listen to you, I think you
- 1:44:53Speaker 1: have an obligation to, you know, not fill up a
- 1:44:56Speaker 1: lot with you know, you know, you know, you know,
- 1:45:00Speaker 1: I understand what you're saying. I just I disagree. I
- 1:45:04Speaker 1: think if you're in talk radio and you're talking for
- 1:45:06Speaker 1: two hours, you're going to be conversational. And there are
- 1:45:09Speaker 1: times in real life when you're like, you know, and
- 1:45:13Speaker 1: this is a situation where we can't you know what
- 1:45:15Speaker 1: I'm saying. We can't just be here saying what comes
- 1:45:17Speaker 1: out of our minds, like we're not just blurting answers out,
- 1:45:22Speaker 1: you know, is a great way to just take a
- 1:45:24Speaker 1: pause and think about what you're about to say. And
- 1:45:27Speaker 1: I agree with with you, Fred, like I don't have
- 1:45:28Speaker 1: any problem with people pointing that out because we all
- 1:45:30Speaker 1: have tick I have ticks, without question. I have crutches
- 1:45:34Speaker 1: that I use all the time, and I don't have
- 1:45:36Speaker 1: problems with people pointing those out. But I think there's
- 1:45:40Speaker 1: a difference between a guy who maybe is umm doing
- 1:45:46Speaker 1: and open to a show yeah, or leading into a
- 1:45:49Speaker 1: break or making a read for a that should be flawless. Yeah,
- 1:45:53Speaker 1: Like you should be able to talk specifically about what
- 1:45:58Speaker 1: you're saying, whatever you're you're leading into. You should be
- 1:46:00Speaker 1: able to do that without saying like or um or pausing.
- 1:46:05Speaker 1: That's different to me. But if you're asking me a
- 1:46:08Speaker 1: question about what I think the Patriots should trade for
- 1:46:11Speaker 1: sign extend, I'm thinking about this on the fly. I
- 1:46:16Speaker 1: don't have a script in front of me. Yeah, Like,
- 1:46:18Speaker 1: I don't know how you can not pause and think
- 1:46:22Speaker 1: about it. And when you do that rather than dead
- 1:46:25Speaker 1: air or sometimes um comes out or like comes out
- 1:46:29Speaker 1: or you know, what I'm saying comes out. Yeah, I
- 1:46:32Speaker 1: just think that's I try. I'll try to be articulate,
- 1:46:37Speaker 1: but it's impossible. Yeah, we'll try harder. Let's go to
- 1:46:41Speaker 1: Skylar in Virginia. What's up Skylar? Hey, guys, how are
- 1:46:46Speaker 1: you doing today? Good? All right? Um? Two quick questions,
- 1:46:52Speaker 1: one Patriots unfiltered question and one Patriots question? Okay, who
- 1:46:59Speaker 1: is RESPONSI well for the Evan has returned from practice song? Um,
- 1:47:05Speaker 1: New Hampshire Hire awesome? All right? And then one question
- 1:47:13Speaker 1: about mac Jones and just QB staffs in general. Um,
- 1:47:19Speaker 1: So when the Patriots missed the playoffs. In two thousand
- 1:47:24Speaker 1: and two, Tom Brady led the league in touchdowns, right, yes, yeah,
- 1:47:31Speaker 1: and then obviously like Matthew Stafford had like a billion
- 1:47:34Speaker 1: seasons in Detroit where the team wasn't good, but he
- 1:47:37Speaker 1: threw it for five thousand yards. Um, I guess my
- 1:47:40Speaker 1: question and I'll take it off the air is, Uh,
- 1:47:43Speaker 1: what do you think you need to see from Mac
- 1:47:45Speaker 1: with or without a winning record? Uh? To you know,
- 1:47:50Speaker 1: really have him be the guy. I think we'll all
- 1:47:53Speaker 1: know it when we see it. I really do. If
- 1:47:56Speaker 1: you throw, like if he has a Matthew Stafford like
- 1:47:58Speaker 1: season and they go eight and again, I'd be more
- 1:48:01Speaker 1: app to roll it back with Mac. Yeah, if he
- 1:48:04Speaker 1: throws her you know, five thousand yards and thirty five
- 1:48:08Speaker 1: touchdowns and they you know, fall apart in other ways,
- 1:48:12Speaker 1: I don't think I'd be sitting here telling you that
- 1:48:14Speaker 1: it's all because Mac Jones can't win. Yeah. Like I said,
- 1:48:18Speaker 1: I you'll know it when you see it. When when
- 1:48:20Speaker 1: it comes to Matt those questions are really hard sky
- 1:48:22Speaker 1: Lit because you because of what Fred said, Yeah, your
- 1:48:25Speaker 1: opinion can change dramatically based on what you watch. Like
- 1:48:29Speaker 1: I thought, there was a like I thought there was
- 1:48:32Speaker 1: a game. There was a game earlier in the year
- 1:48:34Speaker 1: where Mac got hurt, the Baltimore game. They lost, right,
- 1:48:39Speaker 1: they got into a shootout. They couldn't keep up. He
- 1:48:41Speaker 1: threw three picks. I think it was one of his
- 1:48:42Speaker 1: best games of the year, right. I think he made
- 1:48:45Speaker 1: more plays down the field in that game than in
- 1:48:48Speaker 1: any other game I've seen in the two years that
- 1:48:50Speaker 1: he's been the quarterback. If they don't if it looked
- 1:48:53Speaker 1: like that a lot, and they lost a lot of games,
- 1:48:55Speaker 1: thirty eight to twenty six or whatever the final was
- 1:48:57Speaker 1: in that game something like that, I wouldn't blame it
- 1:49:01Speaker 1: on Mac. Yeah, you know, And he made mistakes in
- 1:49:05Speaker 1: that game. He had three picks. Burt on Burton Island,
- 1:49:10Speaker 1: loving the combine coverage, he says, if Evan is to
- 1:49:13Speaker 1: be considered Eric's replacement, then that was the biggest upgrade
- 1:49:17Speaker 1: in the history of upgrades. Uh. Speaking of Eric, what
- 1:49:20Speaker 1: is he to agree with that? What is what is
- 1:49:22Speaker 1: he up to these days? I picture him wearing a fedora,
- 1:49:25Speaker 1: sitting in front of a cafe on Federal Hill, sipping
- 1:49:28Speaker 1: a small cup of herbal Tea wine. Ten thirty am
- 1:49:31Speaker 1: on a Wednesday, sniffing the cork. Yeah. I don't think
- 1:49:34Speaker 1: it'd be herbal tea. I think it would be like, um,
- 1:49:38Speaker 1: you know, espresso and espresso, someone says. Um. Someone sent
- 1:49:43Speaker 1: us a tweet about Eric writing something wine related. I
- 1:49:46Speaker 1: didn't click on it because no, recently, I don't care. Yeah,
- 1:49:49Speaker 1: it was like last week. Oh yeah, this is where
- 1:49:52Speaker 1: Eric is. Okay, Um, let's see long time listener from
- 1:49:57Speaker 1: Wales in the UK. This is Josh. I listened to
- 1:50:00Speaker 1: last week's podcast today while driving home from the hospital
- 1:50:04Speaker 1: having visited my wife, who has just given birth to
- 1:50:07Speaker 1: our third child other congratulations. My five year old was
- 1:50:12Speaker 1: with me, who was usually in his own world when
- 1:50:15Speaker 1: I listened to the podcast on this occasion, he started
- 1:50:18Speaker 1: laughing uncontrollably and enchanting, no peas in my pie, No
- 1:50:22Speaker 1: peas in my pie. I took the opportunity to bond
- 1:50:25Speaker 1: with my son and chanted along with him. Fred was
- 1:50:29Speaker 1: adamant about his chicken pot pie. No veggies. Yeah. However,
- 1:50:34Speaker 1: moments later, I find myself scrambling as I listened to
- 1:50:38Speaker 1: Fred talking about having sex in his throat. Although laughing
- 1:50:42Speaker 1: my head off, I now have a five year old
- 1:50:44Speaker 1: asking me what that means great moment, I'd PEU for
- 1:50:47Speaker 1: me in my now scarred son classics start him young. Yeah.
- 1:50:52Speaker 1: By the way, I said that lobster bisk is like
- 1:50:55Speaker 1: sex for the throat, not that I had it. We
- 1:50:58Speaker 1: should get a toddler version of the TI. Um, could
- 1:51:01Speaker 1: you shout out your youngest fans? Albie, who's the scarred one?
- 1:51:05Speaker 1: Lonnie and Teddy? I had no. I had no input
- 1:51:08Speaker 1: in the name, but I have convinced myself my wife
- 1:51:11Speaker 1: is also a big Teddy Bruskie fan. So there you go.
- 1:51:15Speaker 1: Happy to help. Congratulations, Yes, um, yeah, I like it
- 1:51:21Speaker 1: when tell us what's going on, you know, with their
- 1:51:24Speaker 1: lives and how we integrate into that. A lot of interaction. Freddy. Yeah,
- 1:51:28Speaker 1: we provide a service. So now the kid's gonna say
- 1:51:32Speaker 1: repeat us out in public and get his dad in trouble.
- 1:51:35Speaker 1: Someone apologize in advance. M Ray from Maine says he's
- 1:51:40Speaker 1: currently sitting in a meeting with one AirPod in waiting
- 1:51:44Speaker 1: for an attempt to win a T shirt. So do
- 1:51:48Speaker 1: you have a quick one? People can still do uh,
- 1:51:51Speaker 1: you know, listen to the show. Imagine that they're not
- 1:51:53Speaker 1: drinking on the job. Yeah, So it's one fifty one.
- 1:51:56Speaker 1: I'll do a question and you'll have until one fifty nine.
- 1:51:59Speaker 1: It's only Patty to get the right answer. Um, Oh,
- 1:52:03Speaker 1: that one's too easy. Um, that one's really easy. I
- 1:52:12Speaker 1: already asked that one. Okay, What was the drink that
- 1:52:17Speaker 1: Paul ordered at dunkin Donuts that the woman couldn't get right?
- 1:52:23Speaker 1: What was the drink that Paul ordered at dunkin Donuts
- 1:52:27Speaker 1: that the woman couldn't get right? First correct answer to
- 1:52:30Speaker 1: web radio at patriots dot com wins the T shirt,
- 1:52:33Speaker 1: So uh phone the emails open web radio at patriot
- 1:52:37Speaker 1: dot com. What was the drink that Paul coins ordered
- 1:52:40Speaker 1: at dunkin Donuts that he basically threw back at the
- 1:52:43Speaker 1: woman because she couldn't get well, I didn't throw it back, well,
- 1:52:47Speaker 1: I gave it back to her, said don't worry about it.
- 1:52:50Speaker 1: I'll pay for it anyway, but keep it. You gave
- 1:52:52Speaker 1: it back to her with attitude, the same way you
- 1:52:56Speaker 1: slapped down that D'Angelo sub too. That wasn't that was with? Oh,
- 1:53:04Speaker 1: I believe we already have a correct answer. They cake
- 1:53:06Speaker 1: in Indiana, Jake in Indiana, the blueberry colatta pictured You're
- 1:53:12Speaker 1: dunk in order to be that was for Will. Yeah,
- 1:53:15Speaker 1: when he was like, I don't drink any of that,
- 1:53:18Speaker 1: all right, know that you can. You can stop sending
- 1:53:20Speaker 1: it and water that's it. No coffee, I guess that's
- 1:53:24Speaker 1: your caffeine. I don't drink coffee. I have my first
- 1:53:28Speaker 1: PEPSI around a lot of people do that one um,
- 1:53:31Speaker 1: but they weren't quick enough. But that's good. I love it.
- 1:53:33Speaker 1: Blueberry coolatta. I think I think we found a way
- 1:53:36Speaker 1: to get people up. Don't they just pull a lever
- 1:53:39Speaker 1: down for They made it like a coffee. It was
- 1:53:43Speaker 1: like a coffee coolatta. You know you don't drink those.
- 1:53:47Speaker 1: It wasn't for me, it was for Will, and Will
- 1:53:49Speaker 1: was like, know who I am? You're so incompatible. It
- 1:53:51Speaker 1: was like eight at the time. Will. They were like
- 1:53:53Speaker 1: they're both in the car. They're like maybe six six
- 1:53:56Speaker 1: and eight, seven and nine somewhere in that area. And
- 1:53:59Speaker 1: I was also getting a gift card. It went turn
- 1:54:02Speaker 1: into like a fiasco. Met the drive through and I
- 1:54:05Speaker 1: was like, well you had to get the gift cards separate.
- 1:54:07Speaker 1: And I was like, okay, well you have my card,
- 1:54:09Speaker 1: just put I want fifty dollars on a gift card.
- 1:54:12Speaker 1: And you don't need to cancel the transaction. It just
- 1:54:15Speaker 1: this isn't what I ordered, so you can keep that.
- 1:54:17Speaker 1: Just give me the gift card. No, no, no, no, no,
- 1:54:21Speaker 1: it goes. It went on for like five minutes. I
- 1:54:22Speaker 1: was like, I don't want this isn't what I ordered.
- 1:54:25Speaker 1: I'm not taking this. Just throw it away if you
- 1:54:27Speaker 1: don't want it, and give me my American Express card back.
- 1:54:31Speaker 1: Like I was so mad, I didn't even wait to
- 1:54:33Speaker 1: get the gift card and I ended up calling her
- 1:54:35Speaker 1: an incompetent booby. Kids thought I had another line in there,
- 1:54:40Speaker 1: another word in there, and the kids, no, no, incompetent
- 1:54:45Speaker 1: effing boom um. She might have beeneree. They could not wait.
- 1:54:52Speaker 1: The boys could not wait to tell Beth. When we
- 1:54:55Speaker 1: got like it was like like it was like it
- 1:55:00Speaker 1: was bad. It was yeah, but again, I'm an open book.
- 1:55:04Speaker 1: I tell you about my flaws. Blueberry colade is the
- 1:55:07Speaker 1: correct answer. And we had a winner. We had a
- 1:55:08Speaker 1: lot of people who knew the answer. That's good, um
- 1:55:11Speaker 1: Jacket and Arbor says, I like vegetables in my chicken pot.
- 1:55:14Speaker 1: Pie Jack, we are no longer friends. I yeah, I
- 1:55:18Speaker 1: don't get your and me, of all people, I don't
- 1:55:21Speaker 1: get your reversion to veggies in your chicken pip. Is
- 1:55:23Speaker 1: it peas specifically or vegetables. I don't. I don't really
- 1:55:26Speaker 1: like peas, but I can eat him in a chicken pie.
- 1:55:28Speaker 1: It's fine. You know how people put peas and carrots
- 1:55:30Speaker 1: and carrots peas put on sighing. Leave it out of
- 1:55:34Speaker 1: my pie. Just I like the just the chicken, the
- 1:55:36Speaker 1: gravy in the flaky I understand what you're saying. Not
- 1:55:38Speaker 1: enough people know how to season vegetables and they just
- 1:55:41Speaker 1: throw it in there, and it's like, I just I
- 1:55:44Speaker 1: just I just want to enjoy the chicken without having
- 1:55:47Speaker 1: to get the other tastes in there. You know, He's
- 1:55:51Speaker 1: a very complex man. Uh Andrew says, real conversation that's
- 1:55:55Speaker 1: unpolished is better than hut takes that are insincere with polish.
- 1:55:59Speaker 1: If people don't like it, they can listen to Lombardi
- 1:56:02Speaker 1: and they can hear all the polish and hear how
- 1:56:04Speaker 1: much of an idiot you are for wanting metal. Lombardi
- 1:56:07Speaker 1: doesn't have polish. I actually kind of like the way
- 1:56:09Speaker 1: that he just kind of speaks off. But there's a
- 1:56:11Speaker 1: difference between polish and unpolished. I think everybo is like
- 1:56:14Speaker 1: Colin Coward. Yeah, I think it's so scripted. It's like
- 1:56:17Speaker 1: he's reading right off right. Everything we do on this
- 1:56:20Speaker 1: show is unpolished. But I'm just talking about the the
- 1:56:23Speaker 1: additives in conversation, like um and like and you know,
- 1:56:29Speaker 1: I mean I try not to do that all the time, right,
- 1:56:32Speaker 1: Sometimes it happens, right, And I appreciate people pointing it
- 1:56:36Speaker 1: out because I want to get better, because you want
- 1:56:38Speaker 1: to get better for that. I mean, if nothing else,
- 1:56:39Speaker 1: you just want to improve. I think that and talking
- 1:56:42Speaker 1: over each other is things we shouldn't do. I'm talking
- 1:56:44Speaker 1: over each other's an issue. Agreed on that one, and
- 1:56:47Speaker 1: I'm probably the biggest offender of that. Yeah, because I
- 1:56:50Speaker 1: talk all the time. I would agree with that. The
- 1:56:52Speaker 1: headphones make it easier though, because we can hear each
- 1:56:54Speaker 1: other's voices better. Yeah, but when you were on the
- 1:56:56Speaker 1: other end, when you're listening, like on your app or
- 1:56:58Speaker 1: something like, not our show. But I'll listen to other shows,
- 1:57:01Speaker 1: and when they're talking to each other, I literally can't.
- 1:57:04Speaker 1: It's useless to me. I can't understand what anyone's saying,
- 1:57:07Speaker 1: you know, So it's not Andy. What's the worst, he went,
- 1:57:11Speaker 1: He was worse. You'd want to, like get into an
- 1:57:13Speaker 1: argument with him, but he just wouldn't let you. Like
- 1:57:16Speaker 1: his idea, like, if I just keep punching really fast,
- 1:57:19Speaker 1: I won't get punched. There were times where he would
- 1:57:21Speaker 1: do that and I would get and then him, and
- 1:57:27Speaker 1: then I would just give up and I would pout,
- 1:57:29Speaker 1: and Fred would laugh at me because I would just go,
- 1:57:32Speaker 1: oh no. But then then it'd be like dead air
- 1:57:34Speaker 1: Floyd and it would go what did I go? Oh,
- 1:57:36Speaker 1: You've done now. I would lash out at him. I
- 1:57:40Speaker 1: would say, you big headed, small armed, rubber ringed, fat mouth. Yeah,
- 1:57:45Speaker 1: t rex arms low t rex low t rex. Yeah,
- 1:57:50Speaker 1: look I call him low. You like that? Like that?
- 1:57:55Speaker 1: I might use that. I like when you laugh. That's good.
- 1:57:57Speaker 1: I might use that. I like when you laugh, you
- 1:57:59Speaker 1: should laugh more. Quote poor poor cape Cod Scott said,
- 1:58:04Speaker 1: orange Kolata, oh so close ethan from Indiana Vegetables, is
- 1:58:09Speaker 1: a must in a chicken pot pie. Definitely not peas thoughts. Yeah,
- 1:58:18Speaker 1: one of the peas and carrots to gin. One of
- 1:58:20Speaker 1: the best pot pies you can buy in the grocery stores.
- 1:58:22Speaker 1: Willow Tree, Right, willow Tree is a good pot There's
- 1:58:26Speaker 1: no peas and carrots in there. I don't know if
- 1:58:27Speaker 1: I've ever bought a pop there's no peas and carrots
- 1:58:29Speaker 1: in there. It's a good pot pie. Yeah, him place
- 1:58:34Speaker 1: that I used to get them, Ken's Kicking Chicken. I
- 1:58:35Speaker 1: don't think it exists anymore. I think the guy retired.
- 1:58:39Speaker 1: That was a really good podcast, Ken's Kicking Chicken. There's
- 1:58:42Speaker 1: also a good one down my way, Centerville Pies. They
- 1:58:47Speaker 1: make a great chicken pot pie, although the crust is
- 1:58:49Speaker 1: a little sweet. They use a little sugar in there crust,
- 1:58:52Speaker 1: which some people might like. It doesn't sound like you're
- 1:58:55Speaker 1: one of them. I like it, but down the brim
- 1:58:58Speaker 1: of your nose to not be sweet. Yeah. Oh Jerry
- 1:59:01Speaker 1: Richardson died. Oh yeah from Centerville Pies has more chicken
- 1:59:08Speaker 1: than Willow Tree. But I like the willow Tree crust better,
- 1:59:11Speaker 1: so you go straight off. Let's less sugar. Yeah. Um,
- 1:59:15Speaker 1: all right, that's it. That's it for this week's shows. Um,
- 1:59:20Speaker 1: stay tuned because we have a special edition of Catch
