- 0:11[SPEAKER_01]: What's up guys?
- 0:13[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, so we needed a little bit of time to sort of give back to life too.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_01]: Clearly behind schedule, but we're here back to back.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, we're trying to get our lives together.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_04]: If I sound a little nasally, it's because I have a little, itty-bitty cold, nothing crazy.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_04]: Thankfully, I think like when I have a really bad cold, I know it's gonna be a full blown one when it starts with my throat hurting.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_04]: And then it moves through all the other symptoms.
- 0:43[SPEAKER_01]: What do you think happened?
- 0:44[SPEAKER_04]: I just said symptoms.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_04]: All those, like right now, I don't know what happened.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_04]: I think.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_04]: I think I'm just getting confused on the weather.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know how to address myself anymore.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_04]: It's just, I want to be spring so bad that I'm like wearing less layers.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_04]: Did maybe I should when I got outside, which has only been like three times since I came back.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I was going, yeah, because I was just going to say, how many times have you gone outside?
- 1:07[SPEAKER_01]: Probably three times.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_01]: Got back.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_01]: You know, so you haven't been outside for that long, you know?
- 1:11[SPEAKER_04]: But regardless, you guys, we're ready to unpack our Mexico City trip.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_04]: Now, I don't know if we're going to be able to like completely talk about every single thing.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_04]: This is no way.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_04]: There's no way we do a recap.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_04]: Like, this is always going to be like two hours.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_04]: And we ain't got two hours today.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_00]: We don't have two hours, but I know you with this name, you're like, shit, I got two hours.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_04]: Well, and we also like,
- 1:35[SPEAKER_04]: Both have so much other content to come out this trip.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_04]: Like Yoni has a full video.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_04]: I got a full video We got that's just one thing.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_01]: We're talking about YouTube, but then just the phone Stuff that I've filmed that I want to put together like specifically like photography content because you guys this year My plan and my goal is to to make
- 1:57[SPEAKER_01]: Because up until now, I'm just the artist of photographer.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_01]: I put my work there.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_01]: It is what it is like.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_01]: I appreciate it.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_01]: You don't.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_01]: That's cool.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_01]: But now I want to make Reels involving my photography.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_01]: So you reach is like more people.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just trying to see.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_04]: The reality is like most people these days find out about, you know, like, whether it's, whether it's like jewelry, clothing,
- 2:27[SPEAKER_04]: You know, wall art like a vintage shop like so many things where you will acquire and buy like a product You find out about that you find out about those places on Instagram or TikTok But I would say Instagram more but specifically through like vertical videos.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_01]: Well, yeah, you can make videos that are now vertical
- 2:51[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like he just doesn't read something about the full screen video keeps not keeps people's attention, but it's like it is.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_04]: It does seem differently.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_01]: It's received differently.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_01]: So if you have a business, because I know we just talked about like going and all going all that.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_01]: If you have a business, you have to do what you gotta do.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_01]: You know, this is your job, this is your job.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_04]: So 2026, Yoni is jumping into that vertical content.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I feel like I have to, it's something that I have, that I have, that I have, that I have, that I have so many, I have so many, I have so capable of doing, that I'm just not doing, so I was filming a lot of shit.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm just excited to like slowly roll it out and, and, and, and, and, and edit, you know, but Mexico City.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_04]: CDMX, Hugh Dodd, they may equal, let's get into it.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_04]: Listen, I want to just quickly talk about this and then move on with the story.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_04]: The first, we want to, if you didn't listen to the last episode, it wasn't last week, but the one before this episode.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_04]: uh we talked all about to loom or we went to to loom Mexico first which is on the Caribbean like east coast of Mexico.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_04]: Very beautiful.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_04]: We did a whole recap on location about our entire vacation into loom, our entire experience there.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_04]: Uh how it wasn't we recorded a while we were in Mexico City.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_01]: I always want to record something not on the couch.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_04]: Like something about... Not in me, you work like we're with.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_04]: Do it when we're still traveling.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, when we're somewhere else and now especially because we have like these other mics that it's just like we just plug it up and talking.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_01]: I thought the audio was perfect.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_01]: If you have a listen to the episode, it's the previous episode, it's the two-room episode.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_01]: I thought it was good, and it's fun, and it's like...
- 4:30[SPEAKER_04]: It's nice, especially because we do travel like quite a bit.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_01]: And there's no video now.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_01]: So we can record anywhere we just do it.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_04]: And it would just be useful for us because then when we're leaving, we also don't have to feel like, for example, in the summer, like sometimes we travel for like a whole month and it would be nice to be able to not have to like pre-record so much stuff.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_04]: We already have to do that for the Patreon, which is video and everything.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_04]: It would be nice to not have to pre-record so much including the audio.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and something about audio, it feels, it is more real time.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's like real time.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_01]: It's like it's not happening.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_01]: Like today, I can talk about what happened today and you will hear this episode later today.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, pretty much.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_04]: So, yeah, if you didn't listen to that episode that we recorded when we were in Mexico City,
- 5:21[SPEAKER_04]: And while we were in Mexico City, it also happened that everything went down with the capturing of a cartel leader, all that stuff, if you didn't really know what was going on, you can totally search for it yourself.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_00]: I think everybody knows what it's gonna be.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, there are some people that didn't know what was going on.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_00]: Really?
- 5:41[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, but regardless, we had an amazing time.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_04]: The day that everything was kind of going down and like, it was being talked about on the news and our family is we're like, you guys got to leave?
- 5:53[SPEAKER_01]: Like, my mom was like, everybody's freaking out.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_01]: Stay in the hotel.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_01]: People are like, Yoni, don't leave.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just like, bro.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_01]: And then we'll look outside and people are just living a regular life.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_04]: I think like the first, the first day, we were a little bit just freaked out.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_04]: And I think it's normal.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_01]: Not freaked out.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_04]: not freaked out but like uneasy we were feeling uneasy I wasn't feeling good it was so funny we were outside in any car that pulled up to a stop flight alia would look like oh shit like are they about to jump out of the car like I don't know
- 6:21[SPEAKER_00]: You thought they came right here to get you out of it.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_04]: And yeah, it was just kind of like a, it was definitely one of those weird moments, but then I'm glad that like we were thinking about maybe changing our flights, but then my mom said, like, you know, sleep on it, see how it is tomorrow, like maybe talk to some locals, stuff like that.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_01]: I had so many people message me and I appreciate it.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_01]: If you listen and you message me, it's like, are you guys good?
- 6:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_01]: Because we had just landed in the shit happened like the next morning.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_04]: of enjoying, you know, Mexico City, and like making content making videos is a weird to make a video while this is going on.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_04]: Do I feel like safe to go places?
- 7:00[SPEAKER_04]: And here's a thing.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_04]: If the whole city would have sort of like shut down where locals were like they're business weren't open and like people would like not be walking on the street and if that was like what was happening the next day,
- 7:20[SPEAKER_04]: We would have left, because it's, it's, it's an then, I wouldn't want to be somewhere where I'm feeling uneasy, where I see people that live here, and this is like, they're home.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_04]: If they're choosing to stay at home, businesses are closed, restaurants are closed, everything is just like ghost town.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_04]: There's kind of no point to be there, but also if that was the reaction, you may be feel like, okay, I want to leave, like, I don't feel good here.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_04]: But it was a complete opposite.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_01]: That's, I mean, that would be crazy if that happened,
- 7:47[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I don't know.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_04]: You don't know.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_04]: Like, we're not from there.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_04]: We're not low.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_04]: Like, we don't know.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_04]: So I think we were really looking at the reaction of like people who actually live there.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_04]: And everything was so normal.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_04]: Beautiful day.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_00]: Like, we're not even talking about it.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_04]: No, nobody was talking about it.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_04]: Everybody was just like going to work, having dinner, having lunch, sun was out.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_04]: People were walking around.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_01]: That was a Sunday, right?
- 8:11[SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, I happened on Sunday.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_04]: The next day was Monday.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_01]: Monday comes after Sunday.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, but I'm saying like Sundays when it happened and Monday was the day that I was trying to see what's the temperature like like our people like good or not.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_01]: The day that Abdul called me was out on Sunday on Monday.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_04]: It was on Sunday.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_04]: Because your friend was the one that texted us and was like, yo, do you see what's happening in Mexico City?
- 8:36[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, because we were just we had we decided on Sunday was our first full day And we decided like it was a really cold kind of day.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_04]: It was like it wasn't really cold It was it was it was like gloomy the sun wasn't now, but it was also chilly Yeah, it was a sunny wasn't warm and we decided to just kind of not we wanted to like scope out the vibes And we went to like a few markets So we weren't making content or filming that day or anything Sunday was a day we wanted to get on the bike
- 9:05[SPEAKER_04]: And we did.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_01]: It was like the worst day to do it.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_01]: It was kind of raining.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_01]: Every Sunday they have this laugh.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_01]: Get what it's called, but it's like a...
- 9:14[SPEAKER_04]: It's like some of our streets.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_04]: Like they close out the streets.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_01]: A few streets or one long street.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_01]: And it's like every Sunday.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_01]: People get to like, you know, it's from 1.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_01]: It's like from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. and you can just like, you know, jog, ride it right on your bike.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_01]: No cars, which was, you know, it's fun.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_04]: So I think we weren't either done with that or maybe we just break a camera member Then we were walking home from the markets because we went to a few markets that were more like Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, and then we were walking home after like we got some like bread from this like bakery And yeah, we're just walking home and then we remember we passed it was two times on the walk home I don't know if it was like after your friend had texted you that something's going on
- 9:57[SPEAKER_01]: No, it was before that we saw like a big police presence yeah, but it was a different type of police So it was like extra force.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it was like police with like big guns and like just a big trucks and it kind of looks like it was like police But like military vibe.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, you know what say police.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_01]: They were in all black and I was just like what I mean I thought it was just because they were blocking off the streets
- 10:25[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, yeah, like for the bike thing.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm seeing it everywhere.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just like, okay, that's a little extra.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_01]: You don't need guns.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_04]: And it kind of seems like also, you know, you're in a new country, like it just kind of seems like maybe this is what how the police is here.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_01]: But you know what I kept thinking?
- 10:42[SPEAKER_01]: What?
- 10:42[SPEAKER_01]: What?
- 10:43[SPEAKER_01]: If thinking about, yes, you need police to maybe direct traffic, close off street, so whatever, but like you don't need big ass guns.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_04]: No, but I'm saying maybe all police is like that in like Mexico in general, because even when we were into Lune all of the like police and security and everything like that that we saw there It's like they also had big ass guns.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and then I've do calls me or texting I can't remember he was like, oh, he sent me a screenshot of like the article and he had just happened.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, yeah, yeah
- 11:12[SPEAKER_01]: Oh bro, did you see this?
- 11:13[SPEAKER_01]: Are you guys good?
- 11:14[SPEAKER_01]: What are you guys leaving?
- 11:15[SPEAKER_01]: Are you still there?
- 11:15[SPEAKER_01]: So then we talked and now read the article a little bit and I tell you, kind of just like in passing, oh apparently this happened, but I didn't really think anything of it because I don't know why we were kind of just like, you know, walking.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_04]: When you first told me, I was like, are you serious right now?
- 11:32[SPEAKER_04]: Because this is like a thing that
- 11:33[SPEAKER_04]: Of course, has never happened before and of course, this type of never happened before thing happened when we're here and obviously it's not even like about us because we're tourists We're visiting we will leave at some points the consequences of these types of things happening are like more detrimental to the people that actually like live in these places So I don't want to come off as if like it's it's not really hurt it wasn't hurting us and it's not about us anyways
- 12:02[SPEAKER_04]: But it was one of those, especially because like my dad, for example, was really sort of like against us going to Mexico period and just the whole like kind of narrative that is built around Mexico as a as a country in the US is very specific and we know that and it's it's problematic for many reasons, but.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_04]: already know going there.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_04]: My mom was like, she actually wouldn't like to go to Mexico City.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_04]: So I would 100% know, like, you know, heart beat.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_04]: Go back with her.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_00]: Which is one of the most beautiful cities I've been to.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_04]: It is.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_04]: And, but then I knew that because this happened, my dad was going to use that as an example of like seed.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_04]: This is why I would never go to Mexico.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_04]: And it's like, bro, everything was fine.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it was just the media makes everything and that that was a crazy thing way worse.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_01]: We were everything was so fine and then while we're like having a beautiful dinner or lunch and people are laughing or whatever You know, and then you scroll on your phone and then you see all of these articles about You know Mexico City, but it wasn't really it was it was a very expensive city.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but the thing is they brought his body to Mexico City Which is why maybe there was even more security then
- 13:16[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, but everything that I'm being amazing.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_04]: I'm so glad that we didn't let like that Fear for the first day like I was ready to change that flight and my mom was like no, no No, like don't change it.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_04]: Just see how it is guys are already there like just just get a temp check Just see like horrible reacting like like the next day
- 13:37[SPEAKER_04]: And if everything's fine, like, just stay there, you know, and then we talked to like a few locals, everybody said you have nothing to worry about, like, good, and they were right, and everything was fine, and we had the most incredible, incredible time, and I couldn't be more grateful, it was amazing.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_01]: By the time a Wednesday come around, I was like, I want to come here again.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it was actually Wednesday.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_01]: Like, we didn't even get to the end of the trip.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_01]: We still have full three days.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_01]: I was just like, we need to come back something about, I don't know if it was because of all the trees.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_01]: I've never seen this many trees in a city.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_01]: In a big city.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_01]: That was, I've never seen that anywhere.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_01]: So that was really cool.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_01]: So many small little parks.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_01]: But I want to talk about the day we went on to whatever
- 14:34[SPEAKER_04]: Oh yeah, so that was the same day actually the first day our first day on Sunday before we didn't knew about the news and everything I don't think it was this it was because we weren't filming and it was that I'm telling you that was the day We you remember because it was the day when we decided to take the bikes
- 14:51[SPEAKER_04]: like on the streets and we were biking, we're biking, we're biking and then there's these two markets, them are more like up north.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_04]: One I think is called lagunya lagunya.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_04]: I think and then there's another one close by it and it's called it's close to the pitó which is kind of a from like my understanding and what research says.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_04]: It's like it's not necessarily an area you want to hang out in.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_04]: But what ended up happening is like we're biking, we're biking on the on the on the free roads right that are closed off for traffic
- 15:28[SPEAKER_04]: And in Eventually, we're like, okay, let's make our way to this market and see what's up.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_04]: And at first, we were just biking with no like thinking about where we're going to leave the bikes.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_04]: Because the bikes we're using, they use the same system as we do in New York.
- 15:45[SPEAKER_04]: So you rent the city bike, or they're eco.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_01]: It's exactly the same.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the bikes look exactly the same.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_01]: Like same model.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_04]: Well, it's the same exact same company like it's made by lift, okay.
- 15:57[SPEAKER_04]: It's like from the same thing.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_04]: But in order to like finish your ride, you have to you have to lock your bike in a parking spot.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_04]: And of course, there's no like parking right by the market.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_01]: Before we got there I just want to say the maps on these apps whenever I want to go somewhere I never look at the city bike map because it's it doesn't tell you like when you move It doesn't tell you okay, now you're facing north now you're facing so it doesn't tell you that it all doesn't move for some reason So you kind of have to move in one direction to see like am I going the right word now?
- 16:33[SPEAKER_01]: But then you got to move like a while for it to pop up on the map so alias like your babe just make sure there's parking
- 16:39[SPEAKER_01]: around that area.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm looking at the map and it said that there was nine parking spots but that's why we kept going.
- 16:46[SPEAKER_01]: So I was just like, yes, there is.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_01]: So then we bike, we bike, we bike, there's always like different zones, right?
- 16:52[SPEAKER_01]: So the parking spots stop at a certain zone.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_01]: So we exit that zone.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't even know.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, we found out that we had to go back.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_01]: I don't even know if it was like a half a mile back or whatever.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_01]: Bike 7 is towards the market.
- 17:11[SPEAKER_04]: Oh back away away from the market because I remember we ended up getting back on the closed-off streets and then we were biking for a while and then we turned and then if finally made us turn into like a street that wasn't closed anymore.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and there was just like a bunch of traffic a bunch of people I wonder how you were feeling.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_04]: I think the area was kind of like yeah, you know like I couldn't really tell like what's up a vibe we're getting into
- 17:37[SPEAKER_04]: So we're just following the map at this point because you put the the bike station as our destination Yeah, and for some reason like the the the map was taking us through What we would obviously think are streets where you can bike on Yes, because why would the map take you on a street that is not bike friendly is a is a market happening every day
- 18:07[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so why did they take us away?
- 18:08[SPEAKER_04]: Or maybe no, maybe it's only a Sunday.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know, maybe it's only on Sunday.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_04]: But regardless, we're biking for a while for a while, and then it tells us to turn right on a street that is literally in the middle of the market.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_01]: And we talk about the market.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_01]: We don't talk about like the cute little farmers market.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_01]: No, this is a market where they're selling wall to wall.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_01]: There's people yelling, saying things.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_04]: Close.
- 18:37[SPEAKER_04]: People like walking.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_04]: It's a long corridor with both on the right and on the left a bunch of like
- 18:44[SPEAKER_04]: Tented areas with clothes, like toys, like so many things.
- 18:53[SPEAKER_04]: I think it was not a lot of food.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, we didn't get to the food part, yeah.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_04]: The food was more like in the middle, people selling like street food stuff.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_04]: And then in the middle, as I said, there's people selling street food, there's people selling random drinks, there's people selling random like toys that are like jumping and then there's just a huge crowd of people walking on this quarter and then there's us where we're supposed to supposedly
- 19:16[SPEAKER_04]: ride our bikes to get the bike station in the middle of this market.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_04]: So we ended up actually at first we were like, oh, maybe the next street over.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_04]: It's fine.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_04]: So let's like bike a street over, but it was just another street of the market.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_01]: But biking a street over, meaning like we're still following the map.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just thinking, this is just a little area where the market is.
- 19:38[SPEAKER_01]: Not realizing how big these markets are, right?
- 19:41[SPEAKER_01]: So at some point we got off the bike.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_04]: We had to.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_01]: We got off the bike now, we're walking through a crowd.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_01]: That's already struggling.
- 19:48[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you're shoulder to shoulder with people.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 19:51[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 19:51[SPEAKER_04]: I wouldn't, we were able to walk.
- 19:53[SPEAKER_04]: It wasn't like shoulder to shoulder.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, it wasn't shoulder to shoulder, but it was maybe like, uh, like body body, okay.
- 20:01[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 20:01[SPEAKER_01]: So what I'm trying to say is that it was tight.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it was tight.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_01]: You don't remember a time when it was really like, it was pretty tight.
- 20:07[SPEAKER_04]: I just don't think it was like, super, super tight.
- 20:11[SPEAKER_04]: Like we were able to like walk comfortably.
- 20:13[SPEAKER_04]: We just had to weave through the crowd.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 20:16[SPEAKER_01]: We had to weave through the crowd.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_01]: And there was a lot of people who's what I'm trying to say.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_04]: and the thought of the street was cobbled stones.
- 20:23[SPEAKER_04]: So there wasn't even smooth.
- 20:24[SPEAKER_04]: So the whole time you're walking next to your bike that it's just going, Tarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
- 20:49[SPEAKER_01]: Why?
- 20:50[SPEAKER_04]: Because it looked like we didn't belong there.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_01]: Like, anybody who doesn't know what sauce means.
- 20:54[SPEAKER_01]: It means suspicious.
- 20:56[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 20:56[SPEAKER_04]: You guys are not necessarily suspicious, but I remember later on when we had the what's the just meet up shout out if you're listening.
- 21:02[SPEAKER_04]: We'll get to that at the at the end of the episode.
- 21:05[SPEAKER_04]: Um, but I remember telling somebody about this situation and she was like, yeah, you looked, you looked like you were lost.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_04]: And that's one thing that in general, when you are,
- 21:19[SPEAKER_04]: when I was explaining to her what happened.
- 21:21[SPEAKER_04]: She said that we probably looked like we were lost.
- 21:24[SPEAKER_01]: Especially when I had to pull out the map again.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_04]: Well, that and also it's like, what, what reason would you have to be choosing to like, this was clearly not a planned plan of like, oh yeah, let's walk with our bikes in this crowded ass.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_00]: Everyone want to do that.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, so obviously it was like,
- 21:42[SPEAKER_04]: a problem which kind of makes you a target and we're not talking about like a target for anything crazy but people could try to steal some shit from you.
- 21:51[SPEAKER_04]: They could try to steal your phone.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_01]: The part that got out of it.
- 21:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but the part that got you the most is hearing people yelling stuff in Spanish maybe like two each other.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and you don't know if like are they talking about us?
- 22:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like maybe they're saying like Okay, you see these two people right there
- 22:07[SPEAKER_01]: get this shit.
- 22:08[SPEAKER_01]: Just right right there.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna be on the other side if they start running I'm gonna just tackle one of them like you know.
- 22:13[SPEAKER_02]: That's exactly what I was thinking.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm walking ahead of you I think and you were I thought you were we were walking like pretty close together.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know but all I remember is I was I remember thinking because I'm hearing all the same shit too.
- 22:27[SPEAKER_01]: But I know you were probably like
- 22:30[SPEAKER_01]: Well, not nervous.
- 22:32[SPEAKER_01]: Probably.
- 22:33[SPEAKER_04]: I was.
- 22:33[SPEAKER_04]: No, what I was feeling in that moment was pissed.
- 22:36[SPEAKER_04]: I was pissed.
- 22:37[SPEAKER_04]: I was mad and irritated.
- 22:40[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, yes.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_04]: About the whole situation.
- 22:42[SPEAKER_04]: One because of because these bikes are not e-bikes.
- 22:46[SPEAKER_04]: They're regular bikes.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_04]: I was sweating from just biking, especially because we left early in the morning and in the morning it was quite cold.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_04]: So I have like a long sleeve, a sweater and like a light jacket.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_04]: By the time we're done with biking and then I have to get off this bike and I'm stressed out and walking with this bike around these people speaking Spanish.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_04]: Like I think they're about to steal my shit.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know and I don't want this to come off like like a like.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_04]: not racist but like the only reason why I'm saying it was just like the the sort of sort of vibe around there it just kind of did feel like someone could want to take shit.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_01]: I mean there's an area in every city where you feel like I don't know if I'm supposed to be here.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah I just don't want it to come off like these you know people from the U.S. are coming and judging like I don't want to come off that way.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_04]: Um, but it was just the situation and how I was feeling, you know, so I was just furious that we were in this situation the first place, because we could have avoided it instead of just biking in, in nothingness, we could have specifically decided like, okay, we're going to bike to the, to the, to the,
- 23:57[SPEAKER_05]: like initially to the parking.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and the way I don't know, I felt like it was my fault that we were.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because when that situation, but also at the same time, I knew that, I mean, I knew that nothing would happen.
- 24:11[SPEAKER_01]: This is just like, I mean, it was, I wish I took a photo in that moment, but I was just so like just trying to get through this, but if you guys could see, like I can close my eyes right now and feel almost what we were feeling, but I will say,
- 24:27[SPEAKER_01]: I was a bit more calm because I was just thinking like, but I know how much you hate this type of shit.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, who likes this type of shit?
- 24:38[SPEAKER_01]: No, I was pissed too, but it was...
- 24:41[SPEAKER_04]: I was pissed primarily because I had to just carry this bike for so long now that I'm carrying it, but like carrying on the shoulder on the market.
- 24:50[SPEAKER_04]: No, but it was like it was crowded.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_01]: It was uh, it was a perfect scenario of being that unknown.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_04]: It had to walk for like 10 minutes.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_04]: Through like this crowd.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_01]: And now we have to turn right.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_01]: We turn right and it's even more people.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_04]: And then at one point we were like, do we just take these bikes on like the sidewalk or do we go on the street and then like how much further do we have to go and I just didn't like it was a combination of so many things and I was hell a hot to I was sweating.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_01]: Finally the crowds like there's an end of the of the market.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_01]: You know because I was just trying to look for an end It was a very clear end.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and we found we found the parking spot.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_01]: We parked and I just remember like it's taken a breath like that was that was crazy but
- 25:38[SPEAKER_04]: And the reason why maybe I made you feel like it was your fault is that I remember before we specifically left and our plan was to bike around for a while and like enjoy the city and stuff like that.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_04]: Because it was a good bike ride from where we got our bikes to get all the way to the market to just enjoy the sights of being on these closed off streets.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_04]: At one point I did tell you, can you please look at where the parking spot is, so we bike there, so we make sure that there is a parking spot because I was pretty sure when I look at the map, there's no parking around the market and you were like, yeah, yeah, yeah, I'll do it.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_04]: And then we never did.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_04]: And that's why we ended up having to turn around and go on this random mastery.
- 26:25[SPEAKER_04]: And it could have been avoided.
- 26:26[SPEAKER_04]: And the reason, if you're listening to this and you're asking, but Ali, why don't you just put in the parking spot?
- 26:32[SPEAKER_04]: Because I'm not capable of biking and holding my phone at the same time.
- 26:35[SPEAKER_04]: I need both my hands.
- 26:36[SPEAKER_01]: So is it truly my fault or is it you just having to up your skills?
- 26:41[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I feel like I'm just kidding.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_01]: Honestly, I felt like it was about fall.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_01]: It kind of was about the same time.
- 26:47[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't think like it was it was that big of a deal.
- 26:51[SPEAKER_01]: It was it was such an inconvenience.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, like we could have avoided that whole thing if you just like both of it.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, but also I didn't know the market was that big.
- 27:00[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't know all this was going to happen.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_01]: I thought all the streets were just open.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_04]: I know, but you love to do this anytime, even for biking in New York.
- 27:07[SPEAKER_04]: You love to do this thing.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_04]: We're like, let's say we're going to a destination, you input.
- 27:13[SPEAKER_04]: the destination we're going and you never put in like maybe it's because the apple maps doesn't have this but on Google if it knows that you're writing like you can select that you're writing a bike to your destination or you can select that you're writing a city bike to your destination.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_01]: They tell you where to spark as well.
- 27:32[SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
- 27:32[SPEAKER_01]: On the app.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_01]: On the Google map.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_04]: Yes and it was the same thing on the Google maps when we were in Mexico City.
- 27:41[SPEAKER_04]: Where you either put your bike, and that means your bike comes with you to the end of the destination or if you're writing the eco bc Whatever it's called Then it will take you to the nearest parking lot of that destination So then that is so cool And that's what I was trying to tell you.
- 27:58[SPEAKER_01]: I only use apple maps because I think it's the best map in google But it's not that good because anytime we go so good, but it has this and yours doesn't
- 28:06[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, just the only thing that it has, but yeah, we got to the destination.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, we are just going to the market, like we ended up kind of just walking around taking photos.
- 28:16[SPEAKER_04]: And we realized like, that wasn't even really the market we wanted to go to.
- 28:19[SPEAKER_01]: That was not what we wanted to go to.
- 28:21[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, it was, but I didn't realize it was like that type of market.
- 28:25[SPEAKER_04]: So then we walked, like, tenants away.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_01]: What type of market was it?
- 28:28[SPEAKER_01]: Would you say, like, how would you describe it?
- 28:30[SPEAKER_01]: And why was it not your type of market you wanted to go?
- 28:32[SPEAKER_04]: Well, it's a type of market that I feel like people go to actually buy, like, clothes and stuff.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_04]: I was looking for, you know, like vintage antique.
- 28:40[SPEAKER_00]: Contrary.
- 28:41[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, jewelry stuff like that like more curated.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_04]: This was like a brand new clothing.
- 28:47[SPEAKER_04]: That was also kind of like not really our vibe.
- 28:50[SPEAKER_04]: If that makes sense.
- 28:53[SPEAKER_04]: But yeah, so then we walked over to the lagunya.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_04]: Like we like I should really look at my phone.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_04]: and teak market, which that one only happens on Sunday, and that one was really nice to end up walking around there for like, I think, two hours, maybe?
- 29:08[SPEAKER_01]: That was the one where you had to go a long way straight, and then you could turn around and come back, essentially like the same, from the same spot you started.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, there's a lot.
- 29:21[SPEAKER_01]: That was really, really, that was a cool market.
- 29:23[SPEAKER_04]: It was really cool.
- 29:24[SPEAKER_04]: I don't, we actually did buy anything though, despite it being a really cool market.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_04]: It wasn't until the next day where the shopping really began and we did some damage.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_04]: I will say.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_01]: Everyone said you have to get silver from, from, you know, Mexico City.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_02]: Well, Mexico in general.
- 29:42[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_01]: And I found some good price.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_04]: So the damage, I mean, I did more damage than you did, which is not a surprise.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'll definitely more damage to me, but to me, the joy that I got from that market.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_01]: I don't, it was a different market, right?
- 29:58[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_04]: So we need to tell them about the whole jewelry thing.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_04]: I, so the next day, everything was good, it was beautiful, it was the day we decided we're like, you know what, it's beautiful, we're gonna stay, nothing's going on, but we still didn't film the next day because we didn't really, we didn't really know yet.
- 30:14[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 30:15[SPEAKER_04]: So this wasn't included, but in like any of the videos that we made.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_04]: But the next day, we went to this jewelry place that I saw on, um, actually before I even get into this, I just want to say that maybe this is known, but I didn't expect it to be this good.
- 30:36[SPEAKER_04]: The shopping in Mexico City, I would put it really close if not on the same level
- 30:49[SPEAKER_01]: It's up there, and I don't know why.
- 30:51[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe even a little bit better for me as a petite woman.
- 30:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's cool.
- 30:56[SPEAKER_04]: I feel like a lot of the shopping in Japan is for a specific type of one style, but two, even like,
- 31:06[SPEAKER_04]: Like sizing.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_04]: I just remember very little things in Japan fit me.
- 31:11[SPEAKER_04]: Even though like Japanese people as a whole are on the like more smaller petite size.
- 31:18[SPEAKER_04]: Most of the small sizing still didn't really fit.
- 31:21[SPEAKER_01]: But I think it was less about the sizing for you in Japan.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_01]: I think Mexico City, the style is more you.
- 31:36[SPEAKER_01]: It's more like a lot of red, alias color is, it's not like maroon red, but it's kind of like a burnt red, you know what I mean?
- 31:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 31:46[SPEAKER_01]: That's alias color.
- 31:47[SPEAKER_01]: And for some reason, when I think about Mexico City, I think about it.
- 31:51[SPEAKER_01]: No, it's Hugh Dodd.
- 31:52[SPEAKER_01]: Hugh Dodd.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_01]: The Mexico.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_01]: I think about that color, that red color.
- 31:57[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of walls had that color.
- 31:59[SPEAKER_01]: So many also, I mean,
- 32:01[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of red cars.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like I've seen a color everywhere.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_01]: So when I think about that color, it makes me think of Alia and it is true like the style as well.
- 32:10[SPEAKER_04]: It's a little bit more like
- 32:13[SPEAKER_01]: Like organic, like something like a little bit more feminine.
- 32:17[SPEAKER_01]: If you could see me right now, like move my shoulders a little bit because I'm trying to like tell you, it was a little bit more spicy.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_01]: Japan has really nice stuff too.
- 32:25[SPEAKER_04]: But it's a bit colder.
- 32:26[SPEAKER_01]: But it's a bit colder and it's like a, it's a different style.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_01]: Not that you don't like that stuff.
- 32:30[SPEAKER_04]: More like in industrial, maybe like, cleaner.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_04]: I like more of an organic shape.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
- 32:37[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, so anyways, I was really happy for you because you were really,
- 32:40[SPEAKER_01]: finding the stuff.
- 32:42[SPEAKER_01]: Because that doesn't really happen to you often.
- 32:43[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of times when you order something, it's the too long, the waste doesn't fit this way.
- 32:47[SPEAKER_01]: You know, like feeding for women is different than for men.
- 32:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 32:51[SPEAKER_01]: I just get a pair of this in my size.
- 32:52[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, boom, done.
- 32:54[SPEAKER_04]: And in general, too, like, to go back to the jewelry, both Yoni and I, where primarily silver.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_04]: Um, and primarily like I would say maybe 95% there's only one piece that it's only my wedding ring that I wear in gold now I'm everything silver.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think I had that was gold was the earring that I had Yeah, but I even got a new one.
- 33:18[SPEAKER_01]: Hi.
- 33:19[SPEAKER_01]: It's all just silver.
- 33:20[SPEAKER_04]: So we were super excited to go to Mexico because I know from like a lot of research Mexican Sterling silver is the best.
- 33:28[SPEAKER_04]: It's so good the designs the
- 33:31[SPEAKER_04]: quality and we were really excited and in my research of course I went to TikTok I was looking where everybody's going all these things and the place that everybody was talking about online
- 33:44[SPEAKER_04]: As soon as we walk into this place, the guy's size starts showing us the most popular TikTok styles automatic red flag.
- 33:54[SPEAKER_01]: But this is what he's saying.
- 33:55[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and he's thinking that that is going to make us like he's going to verify that we're in the right place.
- 34:02[SPEAKER_04]: Meanwhile, he has no idea that for us, for him to tell us this is the most, these are the most popular TikTok styles or styles on TikTok.
- 34:10[SPEAKER_01]: It makes me want to not buy that.
- 34:12[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, this guy is trying to convince us.
- 34:16[SPEAKER_01]: I like when I go into a store, don't try to convince me.
- 34:20[SPEAKER_01]: Because that shows, you know what that shows me?
- 34:22[SPEAKER_01]: That shows like a little, um, not desperation, not like him.
- 34:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you know, if I ever have a store and you come in,
- 34:34[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to let you do your thing, and it only thing I'm going to tell you if you have any questions, please let me know, and there's a fitting room right here, and there's a mirror right there.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_01]: That's it.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not going to come up to you and be like, so what are you looking for?
- 34:47[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, well, we have this.
- 34:48[SPEAKER_01]: We have that.
- 34:48[SPEAKER_01]: We have that.
- 34:49[SPEAKER_01]: And let's you ask me.
- 34:49[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, he's also like a sales guy, you know?
- 34:52[SPEAKER_04]: And I think the style is also different.
- 34:54[SPEAKER_04]: Like here, when you're
- 34:56[SPEAKER_04]: Especially in those types of stores, like jewelry and stuff like that, they're going to talk to you, they're going to ask you what you want to look at, like they're trying to get you to buy something.
- 35:03[SPEAKER_01]: No, but I guess there is a side of that that I do appreciate.
- 35:06[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 35:07[SPEAKER_01]: But you can always tell when someone is like, I'm looking at one piece and he's bringing
- 35:13[SPEAKER_04]: others.
- 35:15[SPEAKER_04]: It's a lot.
- 35:15[SPEAKER_01]: And then he's giving me different pieces of what about this when you know how many times like he gave me like something that I'm so not into.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_01]: And someone is walking into your school store.
- 35:25[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to look at the things that they are into.
- 35:27[SPEAKER_01]: But he was bringing like a whole different style and something.
- 35:30[SPEAKER_04]: And it kind of like puts you in a perspective in a position where you have to kind of say like nah, so many times.
- 35:34[SPEAKER_01]: But I said that so many times, but also something about it, it didn't make me feel bad.
- 35:39[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm just like, it's not my style.
- 35:41[SPEAKER_01]: I don't really like this one, but I was really straightforward.
- 35:43[SPEAKER_01]: I'm only looking for this type.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_04]: So to let you as know, that story is called Plateria del Fina Mora, which is in Mercado, in Surgence, is Surgence, or no, Mercado, D'Artizinha, de Zonarosa.
- 35:59[SPEAKER_04]: So that is like the Mercado is like the big, because there was a bunch of other stories.
- 36:05[SPEAKER_04]: in this market, but the one that we're talking about that was the TikTok one is called Plateria del Fina Mora.
- 36:13[SPEAKER_04]: And as soon as we walked in, he's like, yeah, this is the one, this is the store that everybody comes to that is on TikTok, like the owner of the shop kept saying that.
- 36:21[SPEAKER_04]: And I was like, you're you're turning me off right now.
- 36:26[SPEAKER_01]: the prices he had in there.
- 36:29[SPEAKER_01]: So that was like the first jewelry spot we go to.
- 36:31[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm thinking the prices here are insane.
- 36:34[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, I want to say insane, but it's just like, wasn't cheap.
- 36:38[SPEAKER_04]: Like it was, it was New York price.
- 36:42[SPEAKER_04]: Close to New York price.
- 36:43[SPEAKER_04]: Like a necklace was like $300.
- 36:45[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 36:46[SPEAKER_04]: And like a bracelet is like $200.
- 36:50[SPEAKER_01]: For a small bracelet or small necklace like that, you don't think $300 isn't insane.
- 36:56[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I don't, I don't know, it would be insane if there's maybe $500.
- 36:59[SPEAKER_04]: To me, I think like jewelry.
- 37:01[SPEAKER_04]: I don't expect jewelry to be cheap.
- 37:03[SPEAKER_04]: I don't expect a necklace to be like 50 bucks.
- 37:06[SPEAKER_04]: It's what I'm saying.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_04]: No, but that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that silver, like you wanna go to Mexico City's for silver because they have a good variety.
- 37:14[SPEAKER_04]: And I'm also thinking people say that because they probably have a good price for what you get.
- 37:17[SPEAKER_01]: I think it depends on the piece, like if it's, if it's a necklace that look like you could break apart, if you just pull on there a little bit, $300, okay, it did not look like that.
- 37:26[SPEAKER_04]: You're exaggerating now.
- 37:27[SPEAKER_04]: But this was also the first place that we went to.
- 37:30[SPEAKER_04]: So when our minds were like, okay, let's not get anything here because we don't have any price to compare it with any other store.
- 37:36[SPEAKER_04]: So there was many other ones we could walk through this market and see what's up.
- 37:41[SPEAKER_04]: So then we ended up.
- 37:42[SPEAKER_04]: saying like thank you so much.
- 37:43[SPEAKER_04]: We'll think about it.
- 37:44[SPEAKER_04]: He was like, don't think about it too long.
- 37:47[SPEAKER_04]: Because also it is true a lot of these places.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_04]: They do have one of one things.
- 37:51[SPEAKER_04]: There's sometimes have multiples, but a lot of them do have only like one size of this ring, two size of the this ring.
- 37:59[SPEAKER_04]: So you have to kind of like think fast.
- 38:01[SPEAKER_04]: But when they're walking, found a few other stores, I ended up getting from that market,
- 38:12[SPEAKER_04]: We were kind of, as soon as I bought it, and then we were walking as we had an appointment at this studio place, and when we were walking, I was like, do you think this bracelet is fake?
- 38:26[SPEAKER_04]: Because the way to verify if it's real silver is usually, it has a tag somewhere on the piece of jewelry that says 925 or 950, which you looked it up, what does that mean again?
- 38:40[SPEAKER_01]: It just means percentage of real silver.
- 38:43[SPEAKER_01]: So if it's 25, if 25, I think it's like 92% silver and then the rest is like a copper or something.
- 38:49[SPEAKER_04]: Or some other type of metal.
- 38:50[SPEAKER_04]: And then if it's 950, it's even more silver.
- 38:53[SPEAKER_01]: Like, yeah, it's like 990, 796, something like that.
- 38:56[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 38:57[SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, 925, I feel like is the most...
- 39:00[SPEAKER_04]: Um, one, the one we saw the most, but usually that's like the thing if you ever are anywhere, not just in Mexico, if you're ever at a market, at a store, and you're looking at a piece of jewelry and they say that it's sterling silver, always check for a tag that just writes the letter, the number is 9, 4, 9, 2, 5, or 9, 5, 0.
- 39:21[SPEAKER_01]: And when she says a tag, it's not a tag hanging off the thing.
- 39:24[SPEAKER_01]: It's, you should be engraved in the middle.
- 39:26[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, okay.
- 39:26[SPEAKER_04]: Sorry.
- 39:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I didn't engrave.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_04]: And it, my bracelet did have the engraving, but something about it like it was light, it didn't, it did, it did, but then I was thinking I'm like, that's something that at this point, since the general population maybe knows this information as a place, as a person that I'm trying to like make money, I would maybe just put that in myself, you know.
- 39:50[SPEAKER_01]: So then we're looked for ways to verify like people.
- 39:53[SPEAKER_01]: How can you tell if silver is real or fake, even though he has the, you know, the inkling.
- 40:00[SPEAKER_04]: The inkling, I think my bracelet is real.
- 40:03[SPEAKER_04]: Even if it's not, I love it.
- 40:04[SPEAKER_01]: Well, we did the magnet.
- 40:06[SPEAKER_04]: I think we should do it again with a real magnet at home.
- 40:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, if you have a piece of silver jewelry and it sticks on the magnet, it's not.
- 40:13[SPEAKER_01]: It's not real, I'm sorry.
- 40:15[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, I'm yours.
- 40:16[SPEAKER_04]: Um, but I do want to say that if you go to Mexico City and you want to get some jewelry, the place, it later on when we were like shopping at another a bunch of other stores around, like, um, Quattas, there was this lady in one of the stores that I loved the ring she had.
- 40:36[SPEAKER_06]: And I was saying it was that.
- 40:37[SPEAKER_04]: it was a it was like a denim store remember that we walked back and then I really loved we were looking at the jewelry in that store and a lot of the stores here like whether you go like a lot of the clothing stores that are more like curated and they're not necessarily that they're not vintage just new clothes like a Mexican designer stuff like that that they're more
- 41:06[SPEAKER_04]: all stores you glow into, they will have a tiny case with a few jewelry pieces.
- 41:11[SPEAKER_00]: Nice glass case.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and the jewelry is always so beautiful.
- 41:14[SPEAKER_04]: Most of the time it's like Latin designers, if not specifically like Mexico City designers or Mexico as the country.
- 41:21[SPEAKER_04]: But they also have one of one pieces.
- 41:23[SPEAKER_04]: And very often they're like quite expensive, but more expensive than the ones you would find at these markets, which makes sense And I asked she had this really nice ring on and I asked her like, oh, like do you know where we could find jewelry similar to this one?
- 41:39[SPEAKER_04]: I told her about the place that we initially went, but the prices were a little bit high
- 41:44[SPEAKER_04]: And they also some of the styles were kind of like basic or kind of whatever it would be like a ring with a heart or like a ring with the I wanted something more like organic while like somebody made it with their hands organic okay organic is my 2026 word and she told us about this place called
- 42:10[SPEAKER_04]: Sharatis Centro Jueiro, which I guess is the center of jewelry or of jewels, and it is in the historical center, which is also called Centro Istorico.
- 42:23[SPEAKER_04]: And the next day we went to that place and you guys this is where you gotta go.
- 42:30[SPEAKER_04]: I bought like I think four things you got I think also like four things as well.
- 42:37[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, no, I got way more than I want to talk about it I got like a lot of stuff.
- 42:39[SPEAKER_01]: I got a nice bracelet.
- 42:40[SPEAKER_01]: Did I read you like for a good as price?
- 42:43[SPEAKER_05]: I got a nice You got like classes well necklaces and a pendant and
- 42:48[SPEAKER_01]: yes and you know when when it was all it was all from the same lady yeah and then I was like if I get all these three can you give me a good price if I get it right now and of course it's like that's how you kind of like did you do that no of course I didn't do that
- 43:04[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you should have.
- 43:05[SPEAKER_01]: It's like usually they expect you to get one thing.
- 43:07[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just like, okay, if I buy three, can you give me a good deal, which will take a little bit off each thing.
- 43:11[SPEAKER_01]: And then she gave me a good ass price.
- 43:13[SPEAKER_04]: Damn, we.
- 43:14[SPEAKER_04]: I.
- 43:15[SPEAKER_04]: Here's the thing.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_01]: You have to think about that.
- 43:17[SPEAKER_01]: I'm normally, I normally don't do that.
- 43:19[SPEAKER_01]: I think I learned.
- 43:21[SPEAKER_01]: Go ahead.
- 43:21[SPEAKER_01]: Some people know how to do that.
- 43:23[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know how to haggle.
- 43:25[SPEAKER_02]: I don't.
- 43:26[SPEAKER_01]: You have to, you have to at least try because either way, the price is the price.
- 43:29[SPEAKER_01]: And worst thing they can say is, no, you're still going to have to pay that price.
- 43:33[SPEAKER_01]: So this guy, okay, if I get three of these shirts, can you give me a deal?
- 43:36[SPEAKER_01]: And then I'm gonna be like, uh, shit, they want to buy three, okay, cool, let me give him a deal.
- 43:40[SPEAKER_01]: Because you can also walk away with just one.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_04]: It is true though that it's happened at a few stores where like, I love how most stores are kind of not old school, but they type in whatever the price is on one of those like old calculators.
- 43:55[SPEAKER_04]: you know like it's like the calculators with a big button on it and most of the time with silver they will if you ask like oh how much is this piece they will weigh it so then because you usually calculate the price of silver for the weight of how much it weighs and they would like input the info whatever and then let's say they say it's like 2,000 pesos
- 44:20[SPEAKER_04]: And based on your reaction to that price, they will take the calculator back and they would do like times, you know, like 10% off or whatever, and they would turn it back to you and they're like, can we do this instead?
- 44:34[SPEAKER_04]: So it's like sometimes based on your reaction or like your...
- 44:37[SPEAKER_04]: Um, non-answer, they'll get some off, but like I, I, there's something, I don't know, there's something to me about like, if somebody has a business and this time, much they say this cost, this, I either buy it or I don't.
- 44:49[SPEAKER_04]: I respect that makes me feel like we're about saying, ah, can we deal better?
- 44:54[SPEAKER_04]: Deal, and my mom tells me all the time that you need to know certain places expect to haggle.
- 45:02[SPEAKER_01]: And then also, you always, it's not about respecting a business,
- 45:08[SPEAKER_01]: You didn't have to stop in that store, okay?
- 45:11[SPEAKER_01]: So they could have made $0 from these, right?
- 45:15[SPEAKER_01]: But you walked in and if they'd give you a price in your buying three things, it's I think it's totally normal to be like, can I, you, and all you doing is asking, they can say no, they don't have to say yes.
- 45:27[SPEAKER_01]: Can you give me a good deal for get three?
- 45:28[SPEAKER_01]: And then most of the time they're like,
- 45:30[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, you know, and then they give you a new price.
- 45:32[SPEAKER_01]: But if you just go anywhere and they be like, no, this is the price first of all, a lot of the shit is priced higher than because they expect to come down.
- 45:41[SPEAKER_01]: So if you're the person to come in, okay, you say how much?
- 45:44[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, 3,000 pesos?
- 45:45[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, cool, no problem.
- 45:46[SPEAKER_01]: You're like the perfect client for that.
- 45:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, I did that everywhere.
- 45:51[SPEAKER_01]: I want to ask for something.
- 45:52[SPEAKER_01]: If you say no, then I gotta think about you.
- 45:54[SPEAKER_01]: I really wanted it.
- 45:55[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I got so much stuff from this one lady and we were talking to her for like a minute.
- 45:59[SPEAKER_01]: Shout out to Mercedes.
- 46:00[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, yeah.
- 46:02[SPEAKER_01]: I remember her name because she was the sweetest.
- 46:04[SPEAKER_01]: We were talking about like music.
- 46:06[SPEAKER_01]: She was telling us about like how much her son loves, you know, like that buddy.
- 46:11[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, I was talking about how much I love Rosalia.
- 46:13[SPEAKER_04]: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 46:43[SPEAKER_04]: And that was the thing.
- 46:44[SPEAKER_04]: It was, it was, it was, it was different.
- 46:46[SPEAKER_01]: They like, profess, like, of course, when you go somewhere to like, new country and you're walking to like a professional environment, of course, they're going to be nice.
- 46:53[SPEAKER_01]: They are work.
- 46:53[SPEAKER_01]: You have to be nice.
- 46:54[SPEAKER_04]: True.
- 46:55[SPEAKER_04]: But there, something about it made you feel like they're actually being, just really genuinely nice.
- 47:02[SPEAKER_04]: And just really sort of like normal.
- 47:06[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and and I don't know so like sweet.
- 47:10[SPEAKER_01]: And also the way they were talking it wasn't like you know how here in America when you go to a restaurant and the the waiter or whatever comes to you and it Me if it was robotic it feels like they know everything and they and they whatever they told you They told the exact same thing to another table.
- 47:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but there it was just kind of like freestyle Okay, what do we think it?
- 47:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I'm not saying everywhere in America does that you can pretty quickly tell who's authentic and who's just like I memorized this shit these are the lines Let me just get totally.
- 47:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I always appreciate the other ones
- 47:43[SPEAKER_04]: I don't want to say it was surprising, but I think it's the first time that I really got to interact with like people from Mexico and and I feel like there's a certain level of like joy and kindness and and and just like joy I think is what I would call it.
- 48:06[SPEAKER_04]: It's like everybody had this sense of
- 48:08[SPEAKER_04]: He's the way that they're talking and, and I don't know, it was just, it really like, I remember left an impact on me, like, everybody that we interacted with and I will say, like, we mostly talked except for the, the meetup that we had with, with the podcast meetup, but the end of our trip.
- 48:32[SPEAKER_04]: It was just, yeah, it was just really like beautiful to be able to,
- 48:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, in terms of just the city and some of the places that will be kind of hung around at, right?
- 48:44[SPEAKER_01]: What was the area, Roma, Norte and Kondessa, right?
- 48:49[SPEAKER_01]: But then, at the beginning of the trip, I wanted to go to an area because I was filming a video, street photography video, and I wanted to go to places that were a little less like picture perfect and see and knew I wanted to go to like the trenches, you know?
- 49:03[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, you wanted to go to where that market was.
- 49:06[SPEAKER_01]: yes, but I want to go to like the neighborhood version of that.
- 49:10[SPEAKER_04]: Right.
- 49:10[SPEAKER_01]: Like a market, that's a thing I think.
- 49:13[SPEAKER_04]: I think on the edges, you could say.
- 49:15[SPEAKER_01]: Taken, yes, but taking photos at a market is something about because I already did one in Seoul, the market photo, like I want to do something different than a market, even though I did take market photos.
- 49:25[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I mean, the sold one was like a very specific one.
- 49:28[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly, but I wanted to go to a neighborhood when people are just like, either hanging out at a coffee shop, kids playing soccer on the streets, you know, a lot of beautiful colors.
- 49:38[SPEAKER_01]: So I brought, you know, my film camera with me.
- 49:40[SPEAKER_01]: But I don't, I don't know, I think, especially the first couple days after the thing went down with the cartel and stuff.
- 49:47[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, I don't know if I should be going to,
- 49:51[SPEAKER_01]: Because you're new to that country, because we were new to that country.
- 49:54[SPEAKER_04]: And you don't speak Spanish.
- 49:55[SPEAKER_01]: I don't speak Spanish.
- 49:56[SPEAKER_01]: I'm walking around with a camera.
- 49:58[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, I look at different than everyone.
- 49:59[SPEAKER_04]: You don't know how people are going to take that.
- 50:02[SPEAKER_04]: You're like walking around for one more than two.
- 50:04[SPEAKER_04]: Also, like taking photos of shit and you notice me.
- 50:08[SPEAKER_01]: Like I'm going to talk, guys.
- 50:09[SPEAKER_01]: So I can't even blend in any way.
- 50:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 50:12[SPEAKER_04]: And if somebody was saying something and talking about you in some way, you wouldn't really understand.
- 50:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I'm not even saying that doubt would have happened, but like with my camera is pretty expensive.
- 50:21[SPEAKER_01]: I want to be aware.
- 50:22[SPEAKER_01]: I never want to go somewhere to where it's just like, unless someone, maybe I should have done more research about like one neighborhood that have that vibe.
- 50:30[SPEAKER_01]: Can I freely walk around in like, if for example, if we go to Brazil, I don't want to go.
- 50:36[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to walk into a 5Li and just like taking photos and be like, oh, here.
- 50:40[SPEAKER_04]: I don't think you should walk into a favel in the first place, I think that's a little bit different.
- 50:45[SPEAKER_01]: Even though the photos would be incredible and really, really nice, but I know I'm not going to do it.
- 50:49[SPEAKER_01]: I guess, okay, so I'm not going to do it.
- 50:51[SPEAKER_01]: Unless you come with me, like someone I know from Brazil has to come with me.
- 50:56[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, but I think even people that don't live in that part of, you know, the city don't go there.
- 51:05[SPEAKER_01]: I was kind of love to just know someone who lives in the favela, kind of like become a friend's room and be like, bro, can you please just take me to, I want him to know everybody there to be like, oh, this guy is cool, all right?
- 51:16[SPEAKER_01]: Now I'll be like perfect scenario, but okay, I think that's it from ex-consider, right?
- 51:20[SPEAKER_04]: No, because I'm already not gonna talk about the in-sane food that we ate when we're there.
- 51:26[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, my video will capture, I think most of the food stuff and okay, we have to talk about the food.
- 51:32[SPEAKER_04]: But I just do think, first of all, the food we had into loom was really good.
- 51:37[SPEAKER_04]: I didn't expect there.
- 51:39[SPEAKER_00]: What do you suggest?
- 51:41[SPEAKER_04]: Because to him is more like... Is...
- 51:45[SPEAKER_04]: It just doesn't seem like they would have some maybe decent spots, but most of the people go there to like go to the beach.
- 51:54[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of at the hotel or something like that.
- 52:01[SPEAKER_04]: And then like we had some amazing food.
- 52:04[SPEAKER_04]: Like now, especially after going to Mexico City, obviously we couldn't eat that every single place that I even had on my list.
- 52:12[SPEAKER_04]: obviously in the city.
- 52:14[SPEAKER_04]: I would say like some of the top eats that we had in the Mexico trip as a whole were into loom.
- 52:22[SPEAKER_00]: We were.
- 52:24[SPEAKER_04]: Like some of my favorite meals that we had on this whole Mexico trip were into loom.
- 52:30[SPEAKER_00]: Really?
- 52:30[SPEAKER_00]: I would say Mexico City.
- 52:32[SPEAKER_04]: Like the, the, the Aguachili that we had.
- 52:37[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 52:37[SPEAKER_04]: Which was like the spicy shrimp and fish that we had at that place where we also where the French guy was our waiter.
- 52:46[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, right.
- 52:47[SPEAKER_00]: That was to loom?
- 52:48[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 52:49[SPEAKER_00]: See, I'll be forgetting where this should be.
- 52:50[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, that's why we confused, anyways.
- 52:52[SPEAKER_04]: Um, yeah, an amazing, I got Chile at this place called La Roma, La, La, Negra Tomasa, Tomasa, Negra something like that.
- 53:00[SPEAKER_04]: I think I talked about it on the last episode.
- 53:02[SPEAKER_04]: Um, I'm gonna come out, I'm gonna, I'm either gonna post like my lists on a sub-stack post or like in a YouTube video or something, um,
- 53:11[SPEAKER_04]: but we need to give a shout out to our favorite place that we went to three times when we were in Mexico City.
- 53:20[SPEAKER_01]: Oh yeah, that was I mean let me say something the first time we went there.
- 53:23[SPEAKER_01]: I was blown away I already know after the first couple bites like listen we're coming back here again.
- 53:30[SPEAKER_04]: You know at least once because there is this thing Especially I think like traveling with me in general.
- 53:35[SPEAKER_04]: I'm always like oh we can't go to the same spot We gotta go somewhere different so we can try different spot which I think like
- 53:42[SPEAKER_01]: It makes sense to a certain extent and we did that we did a good job of that, but to me if I try something and I know it's so good and I need to and I need the next day's breakfast to hit and I'm going there again I'm a if I find something I'm going to repeat it and repeat it because it satisfied me like I'm not I'm not going to try to look for something else because the moment I try to look for something else it's a risk
- 54:06[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, especially if I'm hungry, I don't take risk guys and that did happen like we had this place for breakfast the first day And then we the next day tried a different spot, and it wasn't as good and you were and then I was like, you know what?
- 54:20[SPEAKER_04]: I don't even it was almost like it was so good that I didn't even care to try a different breakfast place That maybe like was as good.
- 54:31[SPEAKER_04]: There's no way that it could have been better
- 54:33[SPEAKER_04]: And the place we're talking about is called Amanda Manda.
- 54:37[SPEAKER_01]: Shout out to Amanda Manda in case you're listening to this.
- 54:40[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, we'll shout out to Senyora Amanda.
- 54:43[SPEAKER_01]: Senyora Amanda, see, we are coming back because she was the sweetest lady so nice.
- 54:49[SPEAKER_01]: She's the owner of the place.
- 54:50[SPEAKER_04]: And at this point we're friends.
- 54:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like I remember on the last day we talked about it.
- 54:54[SPEAKER_01]: You know, we told her about, you know, what we do and she even gave us like a shirt.
- 54:59[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I have, I'm going to wear that shirt, probably to sleep.
- 55:02[SPEAKER_04]: It's not to the gym.
- 55:04[SPEAKER_04]: It's like a shirt that the staff wears at the restaurant.
- 55:08[SPEAKER_04]: But we had some of the best, probably my favorite meal.
- 55:12[SPEAKER_04]: Then one of my favorite, like, top five meals of the trip.
- 55:16[SPEAKER_01]: I can't pronounce it.
- 55:17[SPEAKER_01]: Can you try?
- 55:18[SPEAKER_04]: Can you try?
- 55:18[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 55:19[SPEAKER_01]: So the thing that we got every time when that we were there were the
- 55:29[SPEAKER_01]: Chilakines?
- 55:30[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 55:32[SPEAKER_01]: Chilakines as well.
- 55:32[SPEAKER_01]: I can't say Chilakines.
- 55:33[SPEAKER_07]: Yes.
- 55:35[SPEAKER_01]: The whole chip of Chilakines is like, no, what are you talking about?
- 55:40[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I knew what you were saying.
- 55:42[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, the Chilakines compoio.
- 55:45[SPEAKER_04]: And it's specifically with the Verde sauce.
- 55:49[SPEAKER_01]: So it's like 20 kilos.
- 55:51[SPEAKER_01]: If I close my eyes right now, I can taste it.
- 55:54[SPEAKER_04]: you guys I mean we had the we had the one with chicken and we had the one with um like carnius out as well first that had an egg on it and we had it we added the egg we forgot to add the egg last time yeah yeah so so good I mean she has like beautiful plates in there
- 56:08[SPEAKER_04]: Everything about that place is like perfect.
- 56:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it was so good.
- 56:12[SPEAKER_04]: The pastries to the, the, we had the chill Achilles.
- 56:16[SPEAKER_04]: And then we also had this other dish.
- 56:19[SPEAKER_04]: I can't remember what it's called.
- 56:20[SPEAKER_04]: It starts with like a tea.
- 56:21[SPEAKER_01]: Is that the one with avocado?
- 56:23[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 56:24[SPEAKER_04]: And it's like a corn, corn, like flower thing.
- 56:31[SPEAKER_04]: And then it's stuffed with black bean.
- 56:35[SPEAKER_04]: And then on top, and it's like this tiny little you'll have to see video, but it's that it's also really good.
- 56:41[SPEAKER_04]: The yogurt bowl is like really good with like a bunch of like, with the fruit, right?
- 56:45[SPEAKER_04]: And open fruit, and they have like fresh squeeze like juices.
- 56:50[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know.
- 56:51[SPEAKER_04]: Where are you?
- 56:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the mangoes in Mexico are different type of mangoes.
- 56:54[SPEAKER_04]: Oh my god.
- 56:55[SPEAKER_01]: It's like your drinking mango juice.
- 56:57[SPEAKER_04]: But it's it's I mean, it's slimy, but in a good way.
- 57:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, of course.
- 57:02[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it almost melts in your mouth like I think when I ate it I was like I feel like a baby Which I think you understand what I mean Like how babies yeah, because I feel like a baby eating it because I don't even need to chew We just got melted my mouth, but in the best way possible
- 57:21[SPEAKER_04]: Um, but yeah, if you guys are going to Mexico City or if you live there, you never been to Amanda, Amanda, it is close to the Chaputapic Park.
- 57:33[SPEAKER_00]: Chaputapic.
- 57:34[SPEAKER_04]: And it is, it's just so good.
- 57:38[SPEAKER_04]: It's so good.
- 57:39[SPEAKER_04]: I think every single time I'll be there, I'm just going to go get breakfast there.
- 57:42[SPEAKER_04]: I don't need to try any other place.
- 57:45[SPEAKER_04]: But it's also because we really like Chilakiyuas.
- 57:48[SPEAKER_04]: And it's specifically varied.
- 57:49[SPEAKER_04]: They don't have Rahul or any other kind.
- 57:52[SPEAKER_01]: Those Chikatiyuas, what is it?
- 57:55[SPEAKER_04]: There was some few, there was a few other things that we, I think anytime we ate anything for breakfast, our favorite was always ordering something with the Verde sauce because even into loom we had like this other like enchilada thing and it was with the green sauce.
- 58:14[SPEAKER_04]: The green sauce is just perfect because it's like
- 58:19[SPEAKER_04]: But like the perfect level of spice, we also really loved any time we went anywhere.
- 58:24[SPEAKER_04]: You have all your little sauces and they always had sauce and matcha, which is the one that's kind of like a it's like a Mexican chili oil and it has a bunch of like seas and um, no, the food's just been amazing.
- 58:37[SPEAKER_01]: There was a day where I did feel like I needed to take a break from tacos.
- 58:42[SPEAKER_01]: Because I've never ate that many tacos at all.
- 58:44[SPEAKER_04]: I think you ate more tacos on this trip than you did all of the last two years.
- 58:49[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 58:50[SPEAKER_01]: But it was all so amazing.
- 58:52[SPEAKER_01]: But just to now ruin it for me.
- 58:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 58:55[SPEAKER_01]: I wanted to take that break when I went to Thursday.
- 58:57[SPEAKER_01]: Not because I was tired of it.
- 58:59[SPEAKER_01]: But because I didn't want to get tired.
- 59:01[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and I definitely think like if you don't eat Mexican food all the time, and you're not used to it, your palate can get fatigued pretty quick.
- 59:10[SPEAKER_01]: So I was like, so what was our cleansing?
- 59:13[SPEAKER_04]: What was our cleansing meal?
- 59:14[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, you know, today, this just get a burger, your fries, and just keep it like that.
- 59:20[SPEAKER_01]: You know, and that burger was probably like, yeah, it was amazing.
- 59:22[SPEAKER_04]: It was actually, it was exactly what I needed to be.
- 59:25[SPEAKER_04]: Was it like the best burger of my life?
- 59:27[SPEAKER_01]: But it was the time you know having sometimes food is about timing.
- 59:32[SPEAKER_01]: It's about when you're having that thing.
- 59:33[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's kind of like when you super, super thirsty.
- 59:36[SPEAKER_01]: And there's like this drinking you fridge that you don't really love the taste of it.
- 59:39[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe like, I don't know, some type of...
- 59:44[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, it's something that you don't love, but then because you're so thirsty, you feel like the best thing ever.
- 59:48[SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
- 59:49[SPEAKER_01]: That's how that burger was.
- 59:50[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that burger even just regardless of the situation, I think that burger is great.
- 59:54[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's called Bobo burgers.
- 59:55[SPEAKER_01]: Bobo burger, right?
- 59:57[SPEAKER_04]: I can't be a bio, yeah.
- 59:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and then the fries were good too, and yeah, it was, it was perfect.
- 1:00:02[SPEAKER_01]: I think we did anything next day.
- 1:00:03[SPEAKER_01]: We went back to the Chikatilis.
- 1:00:06[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I was gonna say that I actually think it's quite important that anytime you travel like I think I felt I've felt this way every time I've traveled to a new country like even when we went to Japan Tell what we
- 1:00:21[SPEAKER_04]: that we were eating so much Japanese food and it's incredible.
- 1:00:25[SPEAKER_04]: It's so delicious, ramen, soba noodles, sushi, like all of these Japanese things that are just delicious.
- 1:00:32[SPEAKER_04]: But at one point, you just need pizza.
- 1:00:35[SPEAKER_04]: Or you need like something very different.
- 1:00:38[SPEAKER_01]: Taco Risa, right?
- 1:00:39[SPEAKER_04]: To reset your palate.
- 1:00:40[SPEAKER_04]: I remember when we went, when I went to Paris with my friend Brenda, and we had, we were having like so much French food, back to back to back to back and we were like,
- 1:00:50[SPEAKER_04]: So we went and got some fun and it just hit different like when you have that in-between meal You got to see all your hands right now.
- 1:00:58[SPEAKER_04]: They're going all over the floor
- 1:01:00[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, but I think that I think that that's a needed thing every every every place you go.
- 1:01:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and so you know, well speaking of Chappu Tepek, I didn't know.
- 1:01:13[SPEAKER_01]: First of all, that was also not the word that didn't know how to.
- 1:01:16[SPEAKER_04]: There was many words that you had to remember.
- 1:01:18[SPEAKER_01]: Chappu Tepek, I think I kept on saying like everything but that.
- 1:01:22[SPEAKER_01]: Everything but that, but it had like the same like syllables.
- 1:01:25[SPEAKER_01]: You know,
- 1:01:30[SPEAKER_01]: Well, do you want to talk about the No, no, no, well, we're going to get to the meet up, right, but our first before then I want to talk about Diego and Is it Diego?
- 1:01:41[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god.
- 1:01:42[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god.
- 1:01:42[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god.
- 1:01:43[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, no, the the museum went to oh Yeah, Diego Rivera and free to come and free it.
- 1:01:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:01:51[SPEAKER_01]: I mean I
- 1:01:53[SPEAKER_01]: just looking back on all the places that I've been, as her face is very obviously recognizable, the scene are many times.
- 1:02:01[SPEAKER_01]: But for some reason, I never thought about who that I think is.
- 1:02:05[SPEAKER_01]: Who this is?
- 1:02:06[SPEAKER_04]: I just thought, this is art, this is some lady that, like, I didn't know that that was a real person, or did you just think that that was like a painting someone made?
- 1:02:16[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it was crazy.
- 1:02:17[SPEAKER_01]: I never thought anything, I just remember just seeing it.
- 1:02:19[SPEAKER_04]: I feel that I get that.
- 1:02:21[SPEAKER_01]: You know, like I didn't think it's a Sri Lundan.
- 1:02:22[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just like, you know, whatever, but now that we were in her house.
- 1:02:27[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, so we went to both.
- 1:02:29[SPEAKER_04]: We went to Frieda's Casa Azul, which is in Koya Khan.
- 1:02:34[SPEAKER_04]: I'm just going to say all the Spanish words that I can, and that is like the house that Frida lived in most of her life, but that we actually before we went to that house, which had a most of Frida's stuff, it had a lot of her art, it had a lot of her personal,
- 1:03:03[SPEAKER_04]: Um, like those objects, what objects?
- 1:03:09[SPEAKER_04]: Like all the objects, I feel like there's a there's a name in her house.
- 1:03:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but was it in Diego's house?
- 1:03:14[SPEAKER_04]: No, in her house.
- 1:03:16[SPEAKER_04]: Like when you go to a museum and it's someone's house and you see like, I feel like this is a technical term for that.
- 1:03:20[SPEAKER_04]: Like artifacts?
- 1:03:22[SPEAKER_06]: I don't know.
- 1:03:22[SPEAKER_04]: Anyways, before we actually went to Casa Azul, the day before we went to the Diego Rivera e Frida Colo studio.
- 1:03:34[SPEAKER_00]: And this was,
- 1:03:37[SPEAKER_04]: their house that Diego built for them.
- 1:03:41[SPEAKER_04]: They had already been married, I think, for maybe like two, not three years.
- 1:03:46[SPEAKER_04]: And then they moved into this house.
- 1:03:48[SPEAKER_04]: And this house is actually two houses.
- 1:03:52[SPEAKER_04]: One of them is his, which is the bigger one.
- 1:03:55[SPEAKER_04]: And it's like he has a big studio.
- 1:03:57[SPEAKER_01]: That's why he used to work out of.
- 1:03:58[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 1:03:59[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 1:04:00[SPEAKER_04]: And then there's a house that is connected to his house that is probably half the size.
- 1:04:07[SPEAKER_04]: It's blue.
- 1:04:08[SPEAKER_04]: The most incredible blue.
- 1:04:10[SPEAKER_04]: It's he called it the freedom blue because it's a very specific shade.
- 1:04:21[SPEAKER_04]: that house.
- 1:04:22[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to post them this week.
- 1:04:23[SPEAKER_00]: They're so nice.
- 1:04:24[SPEAKER_04]: But the interesting part about it is like we didn't really have a lot of I knew who food of color was, but I didn't have specifics about like her life or...
- 1:04:34[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, they're stories, they're generally.
- 1:04:35[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, like they're relationship and everything and being able to be in that house and see how like the house is such a big representation of their relationship.
- 1:04:46[SPEAKER_04]: from so many points and like our our we had a guide so they were telling us like we would not have we that's why I see perfect example of having a guide walk you through details of this house if we didn't have a guide we would just be looking at it and like you wouldn't think about if not like more than half the shit he said
- 1:05:08[SPEAKER_00]: I wouldn't think of 90% of it.
- 1:05:10[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, especially without having background, but even if you had background, you wouldn't notice certain things about how the house was constructed in the architecture and choices.
- 1:05:21[SPEAKER_01]: No, he was a good guy, very patient, every time he was time for us to go, because anytime he would explain something, it would be outside of the house and then he would be like, okay, cool, you guys have...
- 1:05:31[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I don't know, 10, 5 minutes going to house, look around if you have any questions come back and ask me.
- 1:05:36[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 1:05:37[SPEAKER_04]: And you only have four is because we're taking photos and all that stuff we took our sweet time.
- 1:05:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we're always the last one out.
- 1:05:44[SPEAKER_01]: But I mean, it was seeing the kitchen in Diego's house where Frida used to stay.
- 1:05:50[SPEAKER_04]: So in her house, like in her side of the house.
- 1:05:54[SPEAKER_01]: Her side of the house.
- 1:05:55[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 1:05:56[SPEAKER_01]: It was, I remember first looking at it, I was just like, it's very basic, very concrete gray.
- 1:06:03[SPEAKER_01]: That a lot to it.
- 1:06:04[SPEAKER_01]: It was white.
- 1:06:05[SPEAKER_04]: It was white.
- 1:06:06[SPEAKER_01]: Not that it was gray.
- 1:06:07[SPEAKER_04]: there was white but it felt gray because of how you think yeah I have a photo of it it's white but I think the reason why you're saying it was gray is because it was very basic and plain and it had no character it had no like these houses were very different then and this is what you were saying like of the architecture in Mexico at the time in general
- 1:06:37[SPEAKER_04]: And the inside was like very plain.
- 1:06:40[SPEAKER_04]: There wasn't a lot of, you know, character obviously the inside a lot of is made into a museum.
- 1:06:44[SPEAKER_04]: So it looked, it would look a little bit different if somebody was still living there.
- 1:06:47[SPEAKER_01]: It was crazy to see their beds and their bedroom where they used to stay.
- 1:06:50[SPEAKER_01]: And the whole time I was in those houses, I just kept thinking like just rewinding years.
- 1:07:00[SPEAKER_04]: to see like this this was a real place like they were here like we are so in the future yeah I keep thinking about it like their house which was their house and this is like their reality and their world now people come visit it.
- 1:07:14[SPEAKER_01]: Yes crazy
- 1:07:15[SPEAKER_04]: And yeah, I'm really interesting.
- 1:07:18[SPEAKER_04]: I highly recommend that like if you guys go to, it would be, it would be like an added layer to go to their house together, since it was such a huge part of their story and her story and then going to her house, which is so differently decorated, it's so beautiful.
- 1:07:36[SPEAKER_04]: It hasn't had much more like life.
- 1:07:38[SPEAKER_00]: The kitchen in there was different.
- 1:07:40[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, yeah, it was like the opposite of the kitchen in the in the first house, but
- 1:07:44[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, a really great experience and I'm really glad that we went.
- 1:07:47[SPEAKER_04]: And I'm really glad that you had a good experience.
- 1:07:49[SPEAKER_04]: Because Yoni in general, he hears the word museum.
- 1:07:52[SPEAKER_01]: Not the biggest museum guy, okay.
- 1:07:54[SPEAKER_01]: Usually when I go to a place, I'm trying to walk the streets.
- 1:07:57[SPEAKER_01]: Trying to talk to people, I'm trying to see, like, what language you speak, and like, we were there for, like, almost an entire week.
- 1:08:03[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just, I'm just giving you my perspective, that's it.
- 1:08:05[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I just think it's worth there were, and that's the crazy thing.
- 1:08:09[SPEAKER_04]: Mexico City has, I think, around 200 museums.
- 1:08:15[SPEAKER_04]: I think it, I could be wrong, but it's probably considered the city with the most museums, like they have so many.
- 1:08:23[SPEAKER_04]: So we didn't really, we did go to the chapel-type castle.
- 1:08:26[SPEAKER_04]: And we went in there and it was really cute, not cute.
- 1:08:33[SPEAKER_04]: I'm so, uh, really big, like, mural art paintings and stuff.
- 1:08:40[SPEAKER_04]: And, and yeah, and then the rest of the time we just kind of like walked around, the city's so big and there's so many things to do.
- 1:08:48[SPEAKER_01]: So beautiful.
- 1:08:49[SPEAKER_01]: I think I didn't, at this time filming, I did a good amount of filming.
- 1:08:54[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't over film.
- 1:08:55[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:08:55[SPEAKER_01]: Like if I had something to say, I would say it and then stop recording.
- 1:09:00[SPEAKER_01]: Because I don't want to pull it up on the timeline and it's going to be like seven hours, seven hours.
- 1:09:10[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, because if you're listening to this and you came to the meet-up, we appreciate it.
- 1:09:14[SPEAKER_01]: This is our third official WTJ Meet-up, and of course as like any other audience we never know who's gonna come.
- 1:09:22[SPEAKER_01]: We never know who's who when we when we come to the spa There's already people usually we try to do it in like public spaces, right?
- 1:09:29[SPEAKER_04]: Somehow we can never be early.
- 1:09:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you don't know who's who
- 1:09:32[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, well, and we also just I feel like because we're obviously going to do I think I think now We're just going to do one everywhere we travel.
- 1:09:41[SPEAKER_04]: We don't know for sure.
- 1:09:43[SPEAKER_01]: What no, I mean I've been wanting to do that Yeah, I know and we such is it's such a missed opportunity to not do one
- 1:09:50[SPEAKER_04]: I know, but something about it, like, in the beginning of the trip, I already feel like, oh, there's so many things I don't want to do, and because we're also, like, you know, filming for, for work, I'm thinking of like, how to, like, how to, how to, yeah, I know.
- 1:10:05[SPEAKER_01]: It feels like an extra thing.
- 1:10:06[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, a little bit.
- 1:10:07[SPEAKER_04]: So that's why we were going back and forth around whether or not to have a meetup.
- 1:10:13[SPEAKER_04]: And I am really, really glad that we ended up having one.
- 1:10:17[SPEAKER_04]: It was, it was, it was, and it is, it is like the greatest way to end the trip.
- 1:10:21[SPEAKER_04]: It really feels just kind of like you tie the bow on it.
- 1:10:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:10:25[SPEAKER_01]: We pulled up to the park.
- 1:10:26[SPEAKER_01]: What are our bikes?
- 1:10:27[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 1:10:28[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I think before we even get there, we have to tell the story.
- 1:10:34[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 1:10:35[SPEAKER_04]: We were, it was our last day.
- 1:10:38[SPEAKER_04]: It was Friday.
- 1:10:38[SPEAKER_04]: We were leaving Saturday morning.
- 1:10:40[SPEAKER_04]: So it being our last day, this was kind of like a, let's go to the places that we want to go to again.
- 1:10:47[SPEAKER_04]: Like a repeat, tap place.
- 1:10:50[SPEAKER_04]: Somehow for some reason, the places that I wanted to go to when we arrived at those places, they were closed.
- 1:10:55[SPEAKER_04]: Or they were like, oh, step the way for 10 minutes or something like that.
- 1:10:59[SPEAKER_04]: And we kind of ended up losing a lot of time for like random things.
- 1:11:05[SPEAKER_04]: Long story short, we ended up getting some food because we were going to be really hungry if we didn't have lunch and we were going to wait until we had dinner.
- 1:11:12[SPEAKER_04]: Our meetup was at 5 o'clock and because it's Friday, the traffic around 5 o'clock is really terrible and we ended up leaving where we got some food and the drive was only going to set.
- 1:11:27[SPEAKER_04]: It was going to be like 30 minutes.
- 1:11:29[SPEAKER_04]: We call the Uber, we get an Uber,
- 1:11:32[SPEAKER_04]: At that time, it said 30 minutes.
- 1:11:34[SPEAKER_04]: We're gonna get there 10 minutes early.
- 1:11:37[SPEAKER_04]: We get in this Uber, it moves like one street, like one block in maybe 10 minutes and it still says we have 30 more minutes.
- 1:11:47[SPEAKER_04]: Like the time on the ETA didn't change.
- 1:11:50[SPEAKER_01]: Then change and we've been in a car.
- 1:11:52[SPEAKER_04]: Exactly.
- 1:11:52[SPEAKER_04]: Like now moving at all.
- 1:11:53[SPEAKER_04]: So we're like, we got to just hop out, cancel the ride and hop on a bike.
- 1:11:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I knew that bike ride was gonna be a little brutal because one traffic and then now on top of the traffic There's there's a pressure of making it on time because if you came to the Lisbon meet up It was a whole disaster and we told you what happened
- 1:12:13[SPEAKER_02]: And we were forty-five minutes late for that.
- 1:12:15[SPEAKER_01]: And we did not want to repeat that again because I think it's just so like in my head it's you cannot do that.
- 1:12:21[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, you can't be late, you know, you can't be late.
- 1:12:24[SPEAKER_04]: And we were just like, of course we're in this position again.
- 1:12:27[SPEAKER_04]: So I was pissed.
- 1:12:29[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, how was Matt?
- 1:12:30[SPEAKER_04]: I'm not gonna.
- 1:12:31[SPEAKER_04]: I was and then I was even more I had my bag that I couldn't really wear like cross body so then I was I put it like in the basket of the of the bike but then there the roads are like constantly having all these like random pot holes and like ridges and random things where like the bike will jump a little bit so then my bag would jump in the basket and I have my cameras in there and I don't want them to get damaged.
- 1:12:57[SPEAKER_01]: So we stopped, I took the camera, put it around my shoulder.
- 1:13:00[SPEAKER_01]: So then we ended up getting there, right?
- 1:13:02[SPEAKER_01]: We get there, kind of updated everybody.
- 1:13:04[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, we're running like maybe 15 to 10 minutes late.
- 1:13:07[SPEAKER_03]: We were sweaty.
- 1:13:08[SPEAKER_01]: Some people responded, they said, same, don't worry, because everybody was stuck in that traffic.
- 1:13:13[SPEAKER_01]: So then we get there and we had to get to the parking spot with our bikes.
- 1:13:19[SPEAKER_01]: We had to pass by the people that were already at the meet-up to kind of go to the right and it's like another five minutes of biking.
- 1:13:29[SPEAKER_04]: And the biking to get to the parking spot is up the hill.
- 1:13:32[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm just like, okay, baby, you know what, we have to go or we're going to be even more late.
- 1:13:39[SPEAKER_01]: So let's just go.
- 1:13:40[SPEAKER_01]: Where everyone is at, where are bikes?
- 1:13:42[SPEAKER_01]: We get there with our bikes, we wave at people.
- 1:13:45[SPEAKER_01]: Because that first you don't know who's who.
- 1:13:46[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and also the reason why we decided to do that is because in New York, even if you rent the bike, you let's say you have like an hour free or an hour including in your membership or whatever to ride the bike.
- 1:14:00[SPEAKER_04]: And then anytime after that, you just pay like per minute or like per hour or whatever, but it's not like a lot.
- 1:14:09[SPEAKER_04]: So then we're thinking, oh, it probably works the same way.
- 1:14:12[SPEAKER_04]: So let's just take our bikes.
- 1:14:13[SPEAKER_01]: How long are we going to be at this park, right?
- 1:14:15[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, we're probably going to hang out for an hour.
- 1:14:17[SPEAKER_04]: Like it could be maybe even if it's like $20.
- 1:14:19[SPEAKER_04]: I'll take out pay the $20 to have to go up this hill and be even more.
- 1:14:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:14:23[SPEAKER_01]: So we get there.
- 1:14:24[SPEAKER_01]: Walking with their bikes like hey guys, and then they tell us like you guys that you might want to go park the bikes because you're gonna get Find I don't know how much she said $500 and I'm like oh 500 pesos.
- 1:14:37[SPEAKER_04]: She's like no, no, no 10,000 pesos as in $500 and also
- 1:14:42[SPEAKER_04]: What?
- 1:14:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that was crazy.
- 1:14:44[SPEAKER_01]: Even if we had like the seven day pass or whatever, I thought it was wild and so then we were like, you know what, we're gonna be back.
- 1:14:53[SPEAKER_01]: But at least I wanted to let people know that we got there, that we're here.
- 1:14:57[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:14:57[SPEAKER_01]: So then we'll go up the hill.
- 1:14:59[SPEAKER_01]: We saw, we see another girl biking up the hill too.
- 1:15:01[SPEAKER_01]: I was just like, oh, damn, she's struggling too.
- 1:15:03[SPEAKER_04]: Well, let me just tell you, at first we were like, okay, let's attempt to bike up the hill.
- 1:15:07[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, I was like, that's not happening.
- 1:15:09[SPEAKER_01]: It's not on electric bike, you know?
- 1:15:11[SPEAKER_04]: Oh my god, it on top of being like frustrated that we're late and then then we have to park this thing and then now we're like it was hot and we were trying to bike up the it was uh we get all of it top of the hill and then we park and then the girl next to us parks too and she was also there for the meet-up
- 1:15:30[SPEAKER_01]: She was also there for the middle, but I forgot her name, then.
- 1:15:33[SPEAKER_02]: Honestly, I forgot everyone's name, but you know we know you though.
- 1:15:37[SPEAKER_02]: If listening, you know we know you.
- 1:15:39[SPEAKER_01]: For some reason, the only name I remember is Louisa.
- 1:15:41[SPEAKER_04]: Louisa and Gabi.
- 1:15:45[SPEAKER_01]: And François.
- 1:15:47[SPEAKER_04]: And Frank?
- 1:15:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's from François, I think.
- 1:15:50[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, Frank.
- 1:15:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's Frank.
- 1:15:53[SPEAKER_02]: Frank and Fred?
- 1:15:54[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, but I'm looking at his Instagram, like, handle with him.
- 1:15:58[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, okay, good, good, sorry, guys.
- 1:16:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no, but honestly, thanks so much for coming because it means so much to us that you take time out of your day, you make a schedule around it, you take the bus, you take the train, car, bicycle, whatever, and you make it to wherever we decided.
- 1:16:18[SPEAKER_01]: Someone on Instagram told me
- 1:16:25[SPEAKER_01]: She ended up not being able to come, but I really appreciate it.
- 1:16:29[SPEAKER_04]: There was a lot of people that weren't able to come that wanted to, and we apologize that it was kind of like a leak.
- 1:16:35[SPEAKER_01]: It was, yeah.
- 1:16:36[SPEAKER_04]: So Jen and let you guys know.
- 1:16:38[SPEAKER_01]: We are now said like the day before.
- 1:16:40[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, well, we'll not do that next time we'll think about it in advance.
- 1:16:44[SPEAKER_04]: We just did have like a little back and forth deciding whether or not.
- 1:16:47[SPEAKER_01]: We didn't want to commit like at that like five days ahead of time.
- 1:16:51[SPEAKER_01]: We haven't even filmed anything yet.
- 1:16:52[SPEAKER_01]: We don't know how things are going.
- 1:16:53[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and the days were good and just like going so fast and there was just like every day felt like there's other things we want to do the next day.
- 1:16:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 1:17:00[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, and also like the early like the the day before kind of like early in the day so we're really glad that everybody that got to come came.
- 1:17:07[SPEAKER_04]: It was it was like the best it was it was the best getting to meet everybody getting to talk to everyone thank you for all the little gifts and after
- 1:17:18[SPEAKER_01]: The cell photo came out so nice.
- 1:17:20[SPEAKER_01]: There was someone there and I was just like, because we always take a photo with it.
- 1:17:23[SPEAKER_01]: You take an iPhone photo, which is the one that we already posted.
- 1:17:26[SPEAKER_01]: But then there is a film photo also that always kind of takes a little longer to get developed.
- 1:17:30[SPEAKER_01]: But that one looks so good.
- 1:17:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it looks really good.
- 1:17:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I do that.
- 1:17:35[SPEAKER_01]: It's a random person that was there.
- 1:17:36[SPEAKER_01]: It took us.
- 1:17:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's it.
- 1:17:40[SPEAKER_01]: And then after the meetup, so you got dark already.
- 1:17:43[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and also that area of the park was closing at six.
- 1:17:46[SPEAKER_01]: The whole park closes at six.
- 1:17:47[SPEAKER_04]: No, no, that's specific.
- 1:17:49[SPEAKER_04]: A part of the park closes at six.
- 1:17:51[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, because the park is huge, right?
- 1:17:52[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, the park is big.
- 1:17:55[SPEAKER_04]: So when that up like walking together with everyone, because we all sort of had to walk in the same direction anyways.
- 1:18:01[SPEAKER_04]: And we're just talking, we're just talking, and then there was a specific place that I wanted to go get dinner on our last night called Campa, Baja, Compo, Baja, something like that.
- 1:18:14[SPEAKER_04]: And it's funny because Is her name Lucia or is Lucia someone else?
- 1:18:19[SPEAKER_01]: No, Lucia is the, I think Lucia is the foreign exchange students from Morial.
- 1:18:25[SPEAKER_04]: Sorry, I like can't remember people's names.
- 1:18:31[SPEAKER_04]: I do.
- 1:18:32[SPEAKER_00]: I remember when it comes to that food.
- 1:18:34[SPEAKER_04]: Well, one of the girls I was there if you're listening, you know who you are.
- 1:18:38[SPEAKER_04]: She actually knows the chef of that restaurant.
- 1:18:43[SPEAKER_04]: So as soon as she heard that we wanted to go, there she's like, oh my God, I don't know the guy, blah blah, I'll get you reservation.
- 1:18:48[SPEAKER_04]: And then she went through all the trouble of like getting us the reservation at 8 o'clock.
- 1:18:54[SPEAKER_04]: And then we're all kind of a continuing to walk in that direction.
- 1:18:57[SPEAKER_01]: and then direction as in like exiting the park.
- 1:19:00[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, exiting the park and then we were walking even on the street.
- 1:19:03[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 1:19:04[SPEAKER_04]: And...
- 1:19:05[SPEAKER_04]: Like at all the other meetups, people just kind of like end that up going their separate ways at the end, you know, and then we ended up getting food or going back to our hotel or whatever, but then this time, as we're walking, when we're about to split off to go our separate ways, somebody says that like everybody is gonna go get pizza together.
- 1:19:28[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and that's where I was just like no, there's no way that we're gonna like split off and like we're gonna go get dinner by ourselves And then you guys are gonna all hang out together.
- 1:19:37[SPEAKER_01]: It kind of like something about it It's just no, I felt like I was missing out on the fun.
- 1:19:41[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah, I want to hang out with you guys So then we were like, you know, should we just come get pizza with you?
- 1:19:46[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and though we ended up can't like the reservation and then we got Pizza with everybody really good pizza What was that place called abuelo?
- 1:19:54[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know abuelo is not
- 1:19:56[SPEAKER_01]: A boil was like a sample of me something else.
- 1:19:58[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I mean, it's grandpa.
- 1:19:59[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe I forgot the name.
- 1:20:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Ben is great pizza.
- 1:20:03[SPEAKER_01]: We also posted a photo of us just hanging out if you want to see it.
- 1:20:08[SPEAKER_01]: This is like our Instagram link is below.
- 1:20:10[SPEAKER_01]: You can see it's like one of the last posts.
- 1:20:11[SPEAKER_01]: We had such a great time.
- 1:20:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I had drinks.
- 1:20:14[SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I had a a Michelara.
- 1:20:17[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, something really good.
- 1:20:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, what was that?
- 1:20:19[SPEAKER_01]: A Michelara.
- 1:20:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I just had like juice or something.
- 1:20:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:20:24[SPEAKER_01]: It was so nice that then we hung out basically from the meter, which was around five all the way into like 930.
- 1:20:31[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, we got back to the hotel at 10 and I was exhausted and our plan was to like pack all of our stuff that night.
- 1:20:41[SPEAKER_04]: So then the next day we could go get a coffee before we had to go to our flight.
- 1:20:45[SPEAKER_04]: Like catch our flight at the airport.
- 1:20:47[SPEAKER_04]: And I was so tired.
- 1:20:50[SPEAKER_04]: I was like, let me just lay down for a second.
- 1:20:52[SPEAKER_01]: I go to the bathroom and I come back out.
- 1:20:54[SPEAKER_01]: Alia is knocked out.
- 1:20:55[SPEAKER_04]: I am knocked out.
- 1:20:57[SPEAKER_01]: It's gone.
- 1:20:58[SPEAKER_04]: Dead asleep under the blanket.
- 1:21:00[SPEAKER_04]: I have not, I mean, this might be gross, but like, I haven't, like, showered.
- 1:21:04[SPEAKER_04]: I didn't, like, brush my teeth and nothing because I wasn't planning on falling asleep.
- 1:21:08[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, she was just like let me just take a second.
- 1:21:10[SPEAKER_04]: I put on like a random, um, like YouTube video of these like people traveling on like very expensive flights or something like a like a like first class flights and I just fell So it's a random thing to watch and I just fell asleep for like an hour.
- 1:21:26[SPEAKER_04]: I think right how long was that?
- 1:21:28[SPEAKER_00]: Not he was in the hour.
- 1:21:30[SPEAKER_00]: He was a bit of fun like an hour.
- 1:21:31[SPEAKER_02]: It fell so long like 20 minutes
- 1:21:34[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, 20 minutes.
- 1:21:35[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, okay.
- 1:21:35[SPEAKER_01]: I took a shower and I came back out.
- 1:21:37[SPEAKER_01]: I was just like, okay, baby, we do got a pack.
- 1:21:39[SPEAKER_01]: Because tomorrow morning, it's always nice to pack the night before.
- 1:21:41[SPEAKER_01]: But anyways.
- 1:21:42[SPEAKER_04]: And we packed up.
- 1:21:43[SPEAKER_04]: I was like, have sleep.
- 1:21:44[SPEAKER_04]: And then the next morning, we just, we were like, we got to get, I just need to get like one last thing.
- 1:21:51[SPEAKER_04]: If I can fit in another meal, I will.
- 1:21:54[SPEAKER_04]: So we walked over to Panadaria Audit and we got this.
- 1:21:58[SPEAKER_00]: Chris, you remember these names?
- 1:22:00[SPEAKER_04]: Sorry, I'll remember food and restaurants and what I ate at each place, but I won't remember people's names.
- 1:22:07[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry.
- 1:22:07[SPEAKER_00]: That was crazy.
- 1:22:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it was good.
- 1:22:11[SPEAKER_04]: There's so much more.
- 1:22:12[SPEAKER_04]: There's so much more like, I want to, there's so much more about like each.
- 1:22:17[SPEAKER_04]: you know day where we went and everything but we can't go like day by day and that's why we made the videos we did a good job at explaining in like going through the days because it was a great time like it was a great time I'm so happy that we got to go food amazing people amazing architecture design culture like clothing jewelry I found some good good I found my first blazer
- 1:22:43[SPEAKER_03]: Oh yeah.
- 1:22:45[SPEAKER_01]: That was still waiting for because it had to get tailored a little bit but once I get that share you guys you're going to see me with that blazer a few times a week that's going to be my uniform.
- 1:22:53[SPEAKER_03]: Shout out to Hover Hover.
- 1:22:55[SPEAKER_01]: However, yeah, H-A-V-R-E-Studio, it's in a nice building.
- 1:23:03[SPEAKER_01]: It's like a show room, but I wasn't familiar with it.
- 1:23:05[SPEAKER_01]: Apparently everybody knows about it.
- 1:23:07[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know about it.
- 1:23:08[SPEAKER_01]: I got my first blazer.
- 1:23:10[SPEAKER_01]: I wasn't planning on getting it.
- 1:23:11[SPEAKER_03]: No.
- 1:23:11[SPEAKER_01]: You know, but it's so worth it.
- 1:23:14[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously for these things, you pay a little bit more, but that's like one of those things that you have forever, forever.
- 1:23:26[SPEAKER_01]: In the shoe died, the Mexico was I got this random bomber jacket the reason why I put it here because I didn't want to forget it.
- 1:23:33[SPEAKER_02]: I was wondering why that was here.
- 1:23:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no, I put this here on the couch right next to me because so this is this is on one of those days where me and Alia separated, she kind of wanted to do her own thing.
- 1:23:44[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it was one day, I think you need to have that on a day out of the trip where everybody does their own thing.
- 1:23:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and that was very important because I was just like, okay, there's a lot of vintage stores here that have some shit that I need to just look through in my time.
- 1:24:03[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and there are some stores where we both are looking at stuff together, but then there's some other stores where like there's just nothing for me And I'm not much to just sit outside and just look yeah, look you know, exactly.
- 1:24:15[SPEAKER_01]: So I was on my way to somewhere I think there's you're on the way to meet me.
- 1:24:20[SPEAKER_01]: I think right, but there's a shop called They're my forgetting name of the vintage shop stay
- 1:24:27[SPEAKER_04]: Well, where did you get this one?
- 1:24:28[SPEAKER_01]: Well, this one, I don't even remember the name of this one, right?
- 1:24:32[SPEAKER_01]: But it's like in the condessa area, right?
- 1:24:33[SPEAKER_01]: There's like a bunch of good.
- 1:24:35[SPEAKER_04]: Say, right, one more time.
- 1:24:37[SPEAKER_01]: Right?
- 1:24:39[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, as in like I said it a lot.
- 1:24:40[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and actually no, we were in, uh, we were in, I don't my north.
- 1:24:44[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, my north.
- 1:24:45[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 1:24:45[SPEAKER_01]: I walked into this like random into shopping.
- 1:24:47[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just kind of like looking around.
- 1:24:49[SPEAKER_01]: And I found this jacket actually filmed it in my video.
- 1:24:52[SPEAKER_01]: And I take this jacket.
- 1:24:54[SPEAKER_01]: I try it on.
- 1:24:55[SPEAKER_01]: It fits me perfectly.
- 1:24:56[SPEAKER_01]: So I go outside because the guy was kind of like just outside outside of a store.
- 1:25:01[SPEAKER_01]: So I was vlogging.
- 1:25:03[SPEAKER_01]: Myself walking in and he saw me.
- 1:25:05[SPEAKER_01]: He looked at me in my head.
- 1:25:07[SPEAKER_01]: I'm thinking about that.
- 1:25:08[SPEAKER_01]: He's probably judging me whatever But I don't care.
- 1:25:09[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I walk in I'm filming our guys right now.
- 1:25:12[SPEAKER_01]: I'm about to do this and I found this one, right?
- 1:25:14[SPEAKER_01]: So I found this and I'll walk outside.
- 1:25:16[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, hey, how much is this jacket?
- 1:25:18[SPEAKER_01]: He's like 300.
- 1:25:19[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, oh It's expensive jacket, but I'm thinking 300 dollars, but it's 300 pesos, which is like 17 dollars
- 1:25:28[SPEAKER_01]: Some like 70 like I said like 200 and I was just like because you know when someone gives you like such a like cheap price for something You never want to make them feel like it's too cheap I'm just like 300.
- 1:25:39[SPEAKER_01]: I was just like, oh, okay.
- 1:25:41[SPEAKER_01]: It's good.
- 1:25:42[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 1:25:43[SPEAKER_01]: I got it I paid it and I got out of that store so fast.
- 1:25:47[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't want to seem like
- 1:25:49[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't want him to change his mind, you know?
- 1:25:50[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, once you pay, he's not going to change his mind.
- 1:25:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I know, but I didn't want to hang around like too much.
- 1:25:55[SPEAKER_01]: After that, maybe he was a mistake that he made, like, how can this be $17, right?
- 1:25:59[SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm.
- 1:25:59[SPEAKER_02]: So, at the time when I was filming it, because we're used to those new surprises, you know?
- 1:26:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I know, literally $17, for a nice-ass bomber jacket.
- 1:26:06[SPEAKER_01]: I love jackets that have like a bunch of like a random company patches on it.
- 1:26:11[SPEAKER_01]: Patches, this one is home depot.
- 1:26:13[SPEAKER_01]: And then the other one says delta, delta, mechanical, something.
- 1:26:17[SPEAKER_01]: I just love this atmosphere.
- 1:26:18[SPEAKER_01]: So I go outside.
- 1:26:19[SPEAKER_01]: I was so excited about this jacket.
- 1:26:20[SPEAKER_01]: So I was filming.
- 1:26:21[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, no, I have to put it on and film you right away.
- 1:26:25[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I'm trying to like diversify what I film, right?
- 1:26:28[SPEAKER_01]: So I put the camera somewhere people walking by.
- 1:26:30[SPEAKER_01]: I probably judging me.
- 1:26:31[SPEAKER_01]: So I tried this jacket on and I tell the camera, exactly what I just told you guys.
- 1:26:35[SPEAKER_01]: But at the time, I guess because the screen is small in the camera.
- 1:26:39[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't realize how wrinkly the jacket would.
- 1:26:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it is pretty wrinkly that I don't like iron it out or something so it's really really wrinkly And I looked at the footage and it was so wrinkly Oh really So it's right something on the screen.
- 1:26:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I was talking about how good is jacket is so as I was watching the footage I'm just thinking like it doesn't look good.
- 1:26:57[SPEAKER_00]: I know
- 1:26:59[SPEAKER_04]: It happens, you know.
- 1:27:00[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, anyways, but I'm gonna I end the shit out of it and he's going to be all good.
- 1:27:04[SPEAKER_04]: I will say the price range of shopping in Mexico City Definitely is a range definitely.
- 1:27:11[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, there's but there's Really good like I would say probably out of all the places I've ever traveled and shop I would say my school city is the best shopping
- 1:27:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, well, I'm afraid we have to wrap it up and meet my friend in 30 minutes.
- 1:27:28[SPEAKER_04]: Yep.
- 1:27:28[SPEAKER_01]: I knew this was going to be a long episode.
- 1:27:30[SPEAKER_01]: So right now, Alia's sitting on the other side of the, I have no idea how to do it.
- 1:27:34[SPEAKER_01]: She has no idea how long this episode is.
- 1:27:35[SPEAKER_01]: How long you think it is?
- 1:27:36[SPEAKER_02]: I think definitely over an hour.
- 1:27:37[SPEAKER_01]: You think?
- 1:27:38[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, like an hour and 20.
- 1:27:40[SPEAKER_01]: And now we're in 45.
- 1:27:42[SPEAKER_02]: No.
- 1:27:42[SPEAKER_01]: No, it's an hour 27.
- 1:27:43[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, damn.
- 1:27:44[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's an hour 27.
- 1:27:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:27:47[SPEAKER_01]: Any time we do a meet-up or any time we go to a new city, I want to do the meet-up on that very last day.
- 1:27:53[SPEAKER_01]: So, what?
- 1:27:55[SPEAKER_04]: No, it's a lot to do it on the last day.
- 1:27:57[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe we should like pack before the end of it.
- 1:28:00[SPEAKER_01]: Well, we just said that it was perfect to do it on the last day, right?
- 1:28:03[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, just like I remember how tired I felt after it.
- 1:28:05[SPEAKER_04]: But yeah.
- 1:28:07[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, what do you want to do it or not?
- 1:28:08[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, on the last year of the second last would be nice to yeah, anyway, well, whenever all you want to do it, we'll do it, okay?
- 1:28:18[SPEAKER_01]: Um, yeah, that's it.
- 1:28:20[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 1:28:20[SPEAKER_01]: I think the weather in New York is still shitty, still raining, right?
- 1:28:24[SPEAKER_04]: I like that it's raining because it means it's not as cold.
- 1:28:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:28:28[SPEAKER_01]: So...
- 1:28:30[SPEAKER_01]: I was going to say I'm a hungry, but I'm not a right before we start recording.
- 1:28:34[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 1:28:34[SPEAKER_04]: I do have a diet, a diet, a coke in the fridge, and I'm really excited to drink.
- 1:28:38[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think it's in the fridge.
- 1:28:39[SPEAKER_01]: I just put it in the fridge.
- 1:28:40[SPEAKER_01]: You put it back in the fridge.
- 1:28:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:28:41[SPEAKER_01]: Get a nice and cold.
- 1:28:42[SPEAKER_01]: You gotta put that shit in the freezer.
- 1:28:44[SPEAKER_01]: Slowly open it.
- 1:28:45[SPEAKER_01]: It's heated up a little bit.
- 1:28:46[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, you guys, um, thank you so, so, so much for listening, for supporting, we are again close to the end of the season, uh, the season quarter, which is crazy.
- 1:29:02[SPEAKER_04]: and we're going to take a well deserved break.
- 1:29:06[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know how long yet.
- 1:29:08[SPEAKER_04]: Also, we know when this episode comes out, technically we're still behind with one.
- 1:29:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, this is last week's episodes.
- 1:29:14[SPEAKER_04]: So don't worry.
- 1:29:15[SPEAKER_01]: We have another one coming maybe like tomorrow or something before the Patreon.
- 1:29:20[SPEAKER_01]: Speaking of Patreon, you can sign up the link is below, we have almost 100 full video episodes on Patreon.
- 1:29:29[SPEAKER_01]: If you don't want to subscribe necessarily, you can purchase any episodes individually.
- 1:29:35[SPEAKER_01]: There's always a preview, but the good deal is to get the subscription.
- 1:29:40[SPEAKER_01]: That's just what I would suggest.
- 1:29:42[SPEAKER_04]: And to support us and our work.
- 1:29:45[SPEAKER_01]: So we can keep going and do different cities and do meet-ups and where should the next meet-up be?
- 1:29:51[SPEAKER_01]: Let us know.
- 1:29:52[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I mean, I think it's up to us where we drove.
- 1:29:54[SPEAKER_01]: I think everybody's going to see Brazil.
- 1:29:55[SPEAKER_04]: You know what I would love, though.
- 1:29:57[SPEAKER_04]: If you're listening to the episode right now, the last thing we got to wrap up.
- 1:30:00[SPEAKER_04]: I need you to comment where you're from.
- 1:30:02[SPEAKER_01]: No, you need to comment.
- 1:30:04[SPEAKER_01]: Chikatiles.
- 1:30:05[SPEAKER_04]: No, and that people don't know how to spell Chilakiles.
- 1:30:07[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, okay.
- 1:30:08[SPEAKER_04]: But also, I need you to comment where you're from because we are going to travel quite a bit this year overall, but we have another trip coming up.
- 1:30:19[SPEAKER_04]: Relatively soon.
- 1:30:20[SPEAKER_04]: It's at the end of this month So I would love to know if you guys are in the proximity If you're there just like get the vibe check get the vibe check, but we probably will do It'll be kind of random because I have no idea if anyone from that country listens to the podcast
- 1:30:37[SPEAKER_01]: But even with a meetup, even if this is what I was saying to the book that we were hanging out with.
- 1:30:42[SPEAKER_01]: Even if it's one person that shows up, that's cool.
- 1:30:45[SPEAKER_04]: True.
- 1:30:46[SPEAKER_04]: Sometimes it's like people that come to the meetup are people that are also just traveling like us.
- 1:30:50[SPEAKER_04]: And it happened to be in Mexico when we were there.
- 1:30:53[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
- 1:30:53[SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, just comment where you're from.
- 1:30:56[SPEAKER_04]: I would love to see.
- 1:30:57[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, because we can see the breakdown of like where people listen from like you know the percentage of our geographic Locations of the listeners, but I just want to like actively where you from right now
- 1:31:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, away from right now.
- 1:31:09[SPEAKER_04]: Let us know.
- 1:31:10[SPEAKER_01]: If you listen on Apple Music, you can go and Spotify and just leave a comment.
- 1:31:15[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think you have to subscribe to be able to leave.
- 1:31:19[SPEAKER_01]: I think you do need an account though.
- 1:31:20[SPEAKER_01]: Because then we're.
- 1:31:21[SPEAKER_04]: It's how we're going to be on Spotify with that.
- 1:31:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:31:23[SPEAKER_04]: What if I still have like free account?
- 1:31:25[SPEAKER_01]: free accounts yet but that's always like ads or different type of when you listen to music yeah okay guys thanks for listening you know if you made it to the end of this episode and it's like an hour and 30 I don't know if you are a work I don't know if you're cleaning the house I don't know if you're cooking I don't know if you're listening with your partner are you driving somewhere shot up to you for getting here maybe
- 1:31:48[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes when the episode is this long, you kind of have to break it down in like, like, different activities, right?
- 1:31:54[SPEAKER_01]: Like, in the morning, I got 15 minutes.
- 1:31:56[SPEAKER_01]: Later on in the gym, I'm going to continue.
- 1:31:58[SPEAKER_07]: Yeah.
- 1:31:58[SPEAKER_01]: And then tomorrow morning when I'm going to work, I'm going to listen to the rest.
- 1:32:01[SPEAKER_01]: So shout out to you who, you know, the person who breaks it down to still get to the end.
- 1:32:05[SPEAKER_01]: Cause I'm like that.
- 1:32:06[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I like that.
- 1:32:07[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 1:32:07[SPEAKER_01]: Cause sometimes you can listen to it.
- 1:32:08[SPEAKER_01]: And if the episode is too long, that's your trick thing with long episodes.
- 1:32:12[SPEAKER_01]: It's too long.
- 1:32:13[SPEAKER_01]: You might lose them like half way too long and then the next day you get a lot of power.
- 1:32:17[SPEAKER_04]: Or it's just like the activities over.
- 1:32:19[SPEAKER_04]: You know, it's like maybe they're like, I want to listen to a podcast when I'm like clean a house, but then maybe they were done before the pot is over.
- 1:32:25[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes I think we're resuming the episode.
- 1:32:27[SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of annoying, especially if your app doesn't remember where you left it off at.
- 1:32:33[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's true.
- 1:32:34[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes I mean with me, sometimes it goes back to the minute zero and I'm just like, fuck, I don't know where I was.
- 1:32:39[SPEAKER_04]: Well, shout out to you if we were able to stay with you the you were able to stay with us the whole time or not break it down regardless we got to go.
- 1:32:49[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, yeah.
- 1:32:49[SPEAKER_01]: I definitely got to go.
- 1:32:50[SPEAKER_01]: We love you.
- 1:32:51[SPEAKER_01]: We appreciate you and you will talk tomorrow.
- 1:32:54[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah tomorrow or tomorrow.
- 1:33:00[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, bye guys.
