- 2:12Speaker 5: but election day is May twelve. Welcome to the show. Now,
- 2:14Speaker 5: Michael Kidd is a Republican running for House in District
- 2:17Speaker 5: twenty one. Good morning, sir, and.
- 2:20Speaker 6: Welcome to the show. Good morning, good to be here,
- 2:22Speaker 6: Thank you for being there. Tell us who Michael Kidd is?
- 2:24Speaker 6: Well so West Virginia boy through and through. Grew up
- 2:28Speaker 6: in Cross Lanes, went to Nitro High School, spent the
- 2:32Speaker 6: last thirty years living in Hurricane, West Virginia. Married young
- 2:38Speaker 6: lady I met in four h many years ago, four
- 2:41Speaker 6: h camp Lisa Edwards Kid. We had two boys, Aaron
- 2:45Speaker 6: and Andrew Kidd, who went through the Putnam County school system.
- 2:50Speaker 3: They are known.
- 2:50Speaker 6: Locally as the Kid Brothers Bluegrass. They started playing bluegrass
- 2:55Speaker 6: when they were very young and have been quite successful
- 2:58Speaker 6: at it. My younger boy won the state championship at
- 3:01Speaker 6: Vandelia four years back to back.
- 3:04Speaker 3: He won when he was You're.
- 3:06Speaker 6: Not allowed to win two years in a row, so
- 3:08Speaker 6: he won at age seventeen, nineteen twenty one, and twenty three.
- 3:12Speaker 6: They continue to play from time to time, though now
- 3:15Speaker 6: they're in different cities. They both one went to Marshall,
- 3:20Speaker 6: one went to WVU, but they.
- 3:22Speaker 3: Came back together at law school.
- 3:23Speaker 6: Both went to WVU Law School and are now living
- 3:27Speaker 6: their lives, and one of them has made us a
- 3:29Speaker 6: grandparent Aunt Andrew, and my daughter in law has made
- 3:33Speaker 6: us a new grandparent as of five months ago.
- 3:35Speaker 5: If I didn't know better, Michael, I would say, you're
- 3:37Speaker 5: proud of your family, very proud, just saying absolutely, that's
- 3:40Speaker 5: a good guess when your part, yes, explain the district
- 3:43Speaker 5: to us.
- 3:44Speaker 6: Okay, So the district I'm running in twenty one is
- 3:48Speaker 6: more or less the south west portion of Putnam County.
- 3:52Speaker 6: Putnam County's broken up into seven districts. I'm sorry, four districts.
- 3:57Speaker 6: I meant to say several. And I'm in the district
- 4:00Speaker 6: that encompasses all of the city of Hurricane and the
- 4:03Speaker 6: outlying outlying areas to the county line down to Kellodin,
- 4:08Speaker 6: over to the Hamlin area of Lincoln County, line up
- 4:12Speaker 6: Cole Mountain. You know, a long route sixty and then
- 4:15Speaker 6: a little ways up Tays Valley Road up to about
- 4:18Speaker 6: Sleepy Hollow. Okay, all right, so why are you running
- 4:20Speaker 6: for House? So I ran four years ago. I sat
- 4:23Speaker 6: in this very seat four years ago and made my
- 4:28Speaker 6: first attempt. I narrowly lost by two hundred and fifty
- 4:31Speaker 6: votes to a young man named Jared Cannon, and he
- 4:35Speaker 6: has done a phenomenal job. I told him after the election,
- 4:39Speaker 6: when I was congratulating him, I said, look, as long
- 4:41Speaker 6: as you do what you say you're going to do,
- 4:43Speaker 6: I'm not going to run against you anymore, because I
- 4:46Speaker 6: mainly just wanted a solid conservative in there. He fulfilled
- 4:50Speaker 6: his end of the bargain and did what he was
- 4:52Speaker 6: supposed to do. He contacted me in December and said,
- 4:56Speaker 6: I'm not running again, and I would endorse you and
- 5:00Speaker 6: promote you to take my position based on what I
- 5:03Speaker 6: know of you. Basically, I don't want any drastic changes.
- 5:08Speaker 6: I just would like to keep Putnam County moving in
- 5:10Speaker 6: the right direction like we're moving now. Although in just
- 5:14Speaker 6: a moment, I would like to talk about a couple
- 5:16Speaker 6: of problems, not necessarily Putnam County problems, but problems that
- 5:20Speaker 6: have affected our state that still need.
- 5:22Speaker 5: To drive ahead.
- 5:23Speaker 6: Sure, sure, So I've got some notes here so that
- 5:26Speaker 6: I'm going to just skip over to that section. One
- 5:29Speaker 6: of those issues is the foster care system in West Virginia.
- 5:33Speaker 6: It's it's the only thing I can say is it's broken.
- 5:37Speaker 6: In order to get to this topic, let me back
- 5:40Speaker 6: up and just tell you a little bit about myself.
- 5:42Speaker 6: In nineteen eighty four, I graduated from the West Virginia
- 5:45Speaker 6: State Police Academy. I was in local law enforcement eighty
- 5:48Speaker 6: four eighty five, A six eighty seven. In eighty eight
- 5:51Speaker 6: I became a private investigator, not the kind you see
- 5:54Speaker 6: on television that chases cheating spouses. I do a lot
- 5:59Speaker 6: of work for insurance companies, law offices, human resource departments,
- 6:03Speaker 6: and a number of government agencies. I contract with the
- 6:06Speaker 6: State of West Virginia. I've contracted with the US State
- 6:09Speaker 6: Department out of Washington with a security clearance and so forth.
- 6:13Speaker 6: In the course of that work, I've worked on a
- 6:15Speaker 6: number of cases recently where plaintiffs attorneys rightfully so, are
- 6:20Speaker 6: suing the West Virginia DHHR over children in the foster
- 6:24Speaker 6: care system who either died or were severely abused and neglected.
- 6:29Speaker 6: And it's just inexcusable. I mean something must be done
- 6:33Speaker 6: to fix this foster care system. If anybody that follows
- 6:36Speaker 6: the news would know. I mean, there's multiple examples. There's
- 6:40Speaker 6: a young girl fourteen years old who died of starvation
- 6:43Speaker 6: down in Boone County. There's multiple examples around the state,
- 6:47Speaker 6: and some of them I know personally because I worked
- 6:49Speaker 6: on the case, and something's got to be done. I'm
- 6:53Speaker 6: not in a position right now to point the finger
- 6:55Speaker 6: and say this is exactly the solution, but I can
- 6:58Speaker 6: tell you whatever we're doing now is not getting it.
- 7:01Speaker 5: Talking to Michael Kead again, who is Republican running for
- 7:04Speaker 5: House in District twenty one, you mentioned the foster care system.
- 7:08Speaker 5: What do you see is some of the other big
- 7:09Speaker 5: needs specifically of District twenty one.
- 7:12Speaker 3: Well specific to our district.
- 7:14Speaker 6: Right now, we have a lot of new business coming
- 7:16Speaker 6: in right next door in Mason County, potentially in Putnam
- 7:20Speaker 6: County as well, with the data center possibly coming in.
- 7:24Speaker 6: And when you bring in an influx of business and
- 7:28Speaker 6: the people that comes with it, both for the construction
- 7:31Speaker 6: and to work there permanently, you know it's a cascade
- 7:35Speaker 6: of things that must be done to welcome those people.
- 7:38Speaker 6: New housing, new roads, new recreation facilities, on and on.
- 7:44Speaker 6: You know, Hurricane has always had that small town feel.
- 7:48Speaker 6: I mean, that's why we moved there. Originally. My wife
- 7:51Speaker 6: grew up there. She grew up on Sam's Fork Road,
- 7:54Speaker 6: right off of Route sixty. We still have a lot
- 7:56Speaker 6: of family there, but we've got to look to the
- 8:00Speaker 6: future and say, Okay, when there's new businesses coming in
- 8:04Speaker 6: employing five hundred and one thousand people within twenty miles
- 8:07Speaker 6: of where we live, they've got to live somewhere, they've
- 8:10Speaker 6: got to eat somewhere, they've got to have means to
- 8:13Speaker 6: get to and from work without being backed up in
- 8:15Speaker 6: traffic for hours at a time.
- 8:18Speaker 5: That's you know, as somebody you know, Michael, I live
- 8:21Speaker 5: right in the heart of Days Valley, and I have
- 8:22Speaker 5: always said before when people complain about the traffic, which
- 8:25Speaker 5: I do as much as anybody, it's a good problem
- 8:27Speaker 5: to have, though. It is as long as you can
- 8:29Speaker 5: handle it. Absolutely, and there's infrastructure issues that come along
- 8:31Speaker 5: with that as well.
- 8:32Speaker 3: Absolutely.
- 8:33Speaker 6: I mean right now, in the past few months, they've
- 8:36Speaker 6: been upgrading the entrance to I guess it's Hurricane City
- 8:39Speaker 6: Park there at the reservoir. That facility is used a
- 8:44Speaker 6: lot I mean all summer long, it's busy. And for
- 8:47Speaker 6: the longest time it was a single lane bridge going across.
- 8:51Speaker 6: Then it upgraded to a two lane bridge. Now they're
- 8:53Speaker 6: upgrading it again, and that's great because Mayor Scott Edwards
- 8:57Speaker 6: has done a great job for the city. I don't
- 8:59Speaker 6: person live in the city limits, but if I did,
- 9:02Speaker 6: he would.
- 9:02Speaker 3: Have my vote.
- 9:03Speaker 6: I mean, he's very proactive. He's very much ahead of
- 9:07Speaker 6: the curve with things that the city can do. But
- 9:10Speaker 6: some of these issues are Department of Highway issues and
- 9:13Speaker 6: County Commission issues, but they've got to be addressed. I
- 9:17Speaker 6: mean nobody, I won't say nobody. A lot of people
- 9:20Speaker 6: don't like change. They just simply don't like change, and
- 9:23Speaker 6: I understand it. But the truth of the matter is
- 9:26Speaker 6: if you want to see the county grow and not
- 9:29Speaker 6: lose population, you've got to be prepared to change with it.
- 9:32Speaker 5: What are some of the things that you stand for?
- 9:35Speaker 6: Basically, so, in no particular order, I'll tell you a
- 9:40Speaker 6: couple of the issues that were you might say, we're
- 9:42Speaker 6: hot button issues. It's not been that long ago since
- 9:46Speaker 6: COVID was the big thing all over the country, not
- 9:49Speaker 6: just here. There was some absolute craziness with respect to COVID.
- 9:56Speaker 3: Things that just defied logic.
- 9:58Speaker 6: You know, walking in a restaurant and you must have
- 10:00Speaker 6: a mask on when you walk in, but you can
- 10:02Speaker 6: take it off when you sit down to eat. Or
- 10:04Speaker 6: students being forced to wear a mask at school but
- 10:07Speaker 6: they can cut a hole in it to blow their
- 10:09Speaker 6: trumpet during band practice. That just makes no sense whatsoever.
- 10:13Speaker 6: People losing their jobs under thread of if you do
- 10:16Speaker 6: not get our vaccine, you're no longer employed here. Well,
- 10:21Speaker 6: it takes a while for it to work its way
- 10:22Speaker 6: through the system, but a lot of those folks have
- 10:24Speaker 6: been getting rich because they rightfully so sued their employer
- 10:28Speaker 6: and said, I don't want your vaccine. I'm healthy, I'm
- 10:32Speaker 6: not at risk, or whatever the reason might be, I
- 10:35Speaker 6: don't want your vaccine. And some of the groups that
- 10:38Speaker 6: sprang up as a result of that, the generic term
- 10:41Speaker 6: might be health freedom groups have endorsed me. I've received
- 10:45Speaker 6: endorsements from two of them. And don't get me wrong,
- 10:48Speaker 6: I'm not against tried and true vaccines that have been
- 10:52Speaker 6: around for fifty or sixty years and have basically eradicated
- 10:57Speaker 6: diseases from way before I was. But a lot of
- 11:01Speaker 6: these new vaccines and things that are just coming out
- 11:04Speaker 6: of research. I don't want to be a guinea pig
- 11:07Speaker 6: for it. I don't want my granddaughter to be a
- 11:09Speaker 6: guinea pig for it.
- 11:11Speaker 5: Talking to Michael Kid, what are you hearing on the
- 11:13Speaker 5: campaign trail as you've been out door knocking into candidates
- 11:16Speaker 5: forums and whatever, what are you hearing from people?
- 11:18Speaker 7: You know?
- 11:19Speaker 3: It's like a box of chocolates. You just never know
- 11:22Speaker 3: what you're going to get.
- 11:23Speaker 6: You open the door, and some people, you know, have
- 11:26Speaker 6: very little feedback.
- 11:27Speaker 3: They just thank me for their time for listening.
- 11:32Speaker 6: But a lot of people are concerned about the data center,
- 11:35Speaker 6: and rightfully so. And if you aren't familiar with that,
- 11:39Speaker 6: there's Google or a Google affiliate has bought up seventeen
- 11:42Speaker 6: hundred acres of property over in Buffalo. But a lot
- 11:47Speaker 6: of the information floating around right now is based in
- 11:49Speaker 6: rumor and just hearsay. I will tell you this. I
- 11:54Speaker 6: talked to one of the other candidates very recently and
- 11:58Speaker 6: asked for some information about it, and I said, I
- 12:01Speaker 6: fully intend if I make it through the primary of
- 12:04Speaker 6: doing what I do best, investigating, you know, not taking hearsay,
- 12:08Speaker 6: not taking Oh Google says this Google may say anything
- 12:12Speaker 6: because they own the property. They want the data center.
- 12:16Speaker 3: Right now.
- 12:16Speaker 6: I have not taken a firm stand for or against it.
- 12:19Speaker 6: I'm leaning for it, but I want more information from
- 12:23Speaker 6: reliable sources, not from Johnny Bob up the street who
- 12:26Speaker 6: heard from someone else that it causes this or it
- 12:29Speaker 6: causes that.
- 12:30Speaker 3: I want facts.
- 12:31Speaker 6: I want something that could be presented in court if
- 12:33Speaker 6: need be, that says here's how many jobs, here's the
- 12:37Speaker 6: good good results of it, here's the bad results of it.
- 12:41Speaker 5: You have a website or social media I do? I do.
- 12:44Speaker 3: I have both. I have.
- 12:47Speaker 6: Michael Kidd for West Virginia on Facebook and it's very active.
- 12:52Speaker 6: I try to post on it regularly. I have a
- 12:54Speaker 6: website Kid for WV dot com, Kidd for WV dot com.
- 13:01Speaker 6: So both of those will give more information about you know,
- 13:05Speaker 6: who I am, what I stand for. I would like
- 13:07Speaker 6: to throw in, I was very pleased to receive the
- 13:10Speaker 6: endorsement from West Virginians for Life. Putnam County is overwhelmingly conservative.
- 13:16Speaker 6: I mean it's not well, it's just overwhelmingly conservative.
- 13:19Speaker 3: I'll leave it at that.
- 13:20Speaker 6: And the two things that I believe most conservatives have
- 13:25Speaker 6: in common are God and guns.
- 13:29Speaker 3: You know.
- 13:29Speaker 6: That's if you boil down social issues to two things,
- 13:32Speaker 6: God and guns. And when it comes to economic issues,
- 13:36Speaker 6: many people I talk to I will make the comment,
- 13:40Speaker 6: I believe that you, sir, know how to spend your
- 13:43Speaker 6: money better than the legislature does, and everyone without failed
- 13:48Speaker 6: nods and agreements says yes, I do. I believe people
- 13:52Speaker 6: deserve to keep as much as they possibly can of
- 13:55Speaker 6: what they earn, that they know what to do with
- 13:57Speaker 6: it better than state government and better than federal government.
- 14:00Speaker 5: Give me thirty seconds, why should someone vote for you?
- 14:02Speaker 3: Sure?
- 14:04Speaker 6: I have forty two years total of experienced, four years
- 14:08Speaker 6: in law enforcement, thirty eight years as a private business owner.
- 14:12Speaker 6: And I'll say a successful private business owner not only
- 14:16Speaker 6: a private investigator, but also rental property. I've owned and
- 14:20Speaker 6: managed for all those years. I've navigated through all the
- 14:24Speaker 6: red tape of government. I have been on the board
- 14:27Speaker 6: of directors of the local church there in Saint Aubans
- 14:30Speaker 6: with a million dollar budget for seven years. I have
- 14:34Speaker 6: a lot of just well rounded experience that the general
- 14:38Speaker 6: rank and file person may not get. In the job
- 14:41Speaker 6: I'm in, It's very unique. I solve a lot of
- 14:45Speaker 6: complex problems for attorneys for insurance companies, for businesses, and
- 14:50Speaker 6: I consider myself a problem solver. Some of these problems
- 14:54Speaker 6: West Virginia faces are complex. I wish it was as
- 14:57Speaker 6: easy as just waving a wand saying, oh, we just
- 15:00Speaker 6: do such and such, all of our problems are going
- 15:02Speaker 6: to go away. It's not that easy. These are complex problems,
- 15:06Speaker 6: and there's a lot of issues that's got to be addressed.
- 15:09Speaker 6: Whether it's the foster care system, the underpaid corrections officers,
- 15:13Speaker 6: and our prisons and jails, you know, different things. They
- 15:17Speaker 6: are complex problems, but I believe I'm best suited to
- 15:21Speaker 6: address those. Do I have time to just squeeze in
- 15:23Speaker 6: one more thing?
- 15:24Speaker 3: Okay?
- 15:25Speaker 6: There are a lot of folk, now I won't say
- 15:27Speaker 6: a lot, but there's a number of folks in West
- 15:29Speaker 6: Virginia politics, Putnam County included, who are what I call
- 15:33Speaker 6: Johnny cum Lately's to the conservative movement. I've been a
- 15:37Speaker 6: lifelong conservative as far back as I can remember. My
- 15:40Speaker 6: first vote was for Ronald Reagan for president in the
- 15:43Speaker 6: early eighties. I did not decide when I was an
- 15:48Speaker 6: older adult. Hey, I see the writing on the wall.
- 15:50Speaker 6: I'm going to run for politics. I better suddenly become
- 15:53Speaker 6: a Republican. That's not me, but there's a number of
- 15:56Speaker 6: people doing that, and I would encourage voters to research
- 15:59Speaker 6: the care candidates and see what their track record is
- 16:03Speaker 6: five years, ten years ago before they vote.
- 16:05Speaker 5: Michael Kidd, Republican running for House in District twenty one.
- 16:08Speaker 5: Appreciate you being here.

- 18:42Speaker 5: you having me on. All right, Congratulations on the new bank.
- 18:45Speaker 5: Now I said it's already open. I mean it officially
- 18:47Speaker 5: is open.
- 18:48Speaker 4: Right.
- 18:48Speaker 11: We are having our soft opening today, today's first full
- 18:51Speaker 11: davuting open. Yes, because I didn't want to say that
- 18:54Speaker 11: and have you go we didn't open right right right, No,
- 18:56Speaker 11: we are open. We are having our soft opening today.
- 19:00Speaker 5: Just opened up.
- 19:01Speaker 11: Drive through opened up at eight thirty, lobby opened up
- 19:03Speaker 11: at nine o'clock. So we are officially open. So we
- 19:06Speaker 11: would love for anybody to stop by and meet the team.
- 19:10Speaker 11: Let us shake your hand and learn your story.
- 19:12Speaker 5: Tell us about Guarantee Bank. Just tell us the overall
- 19:14Speaker 5: story of the bank. Sure, so Guarantee Bank. You know,
- 19:17Speaker 5: let me just first say, you know, community banking's back
- 19:19Speaker 5: in Charleston. You know it's it's been gone for way
- 19:21Speaker 5: too long. And that's what we are.
- 19:23Speaker 11: We are a community bank founded in southern West Virginia,
- 19:27Speaker 11: serving West Virginia for over fifty years. We're expanding our
- 19:30Speaker 11: footprint to expand that community banking feel.
- 19:34Speaker 5: You know when we.
- 19:34Speaker 11: Say that, you know, in Guarantee Bank, community comes first.
- 19:38Speaker 11: That it's not just a slogan, it's real. And right
- 19:42Speaker 11: now we are choosing to invest in Charleston because we
- 19:45Speaker 11: believe in Charleston's future, and we want to grow right
- 19:48Speaker 11: along with Charleston's families and neighborhoods and businesses. And that's
- 19:52Speaker 11: what we're here to do.
- 19:53Speaker 5: I've got a lot of good banks in the area.
- 19:54Speaker 5: But what is it that makes your bank different? You
- 19:58Speaker 5: talked about the community feel, but to give us some
- 20:00Speaker 5: other things that make your bank different?
- 20:02Speaker 11: Sure, I think when you know, when you call us, uh,
- 20:05Speaker 11: folks are going to know where you're from. There, You're
- 20:07Speaker 11: you're going to be talking to somebody that is from here.
- 20:11Speaker 11: I think, uh, you know, uh, Dave, you're a Southern
- 20:15Speaker 11: Wes Virginia guy, so you'll you'll understand this. You know,
- 20:17Speaker 11: if you're uh, if your banker doesn't know, uh know
- 20:20Speaker 11: your mama's name or where your land lays, and then
- 20:22Speaker 11: uh you you know, you're you're just borrowing money from
- 20:25Speaker 11: a stranger.
- 20:25Speaker 3: Uh.
- 20:26Speaker 11: And And that's who we are. I mean, we we
- 20:27Speaker 11: believe in community banking. We believe in making local decisions,
- 20:31Speaker 11: uh locally. We believe in making banking decisions locally uh
- 20:35Speaker 11: and not out of state. And we think that that matters,
- 20:37Speaker 11: uh And and we are here to provide that service
- 20:40Speaker 11: to to UH to Charleston, the Canall Valley.
- 20:42Speaker 5: Now, I want to talk about the building itself, Josh,
- 20:45Speaker 5: I had a chance to tor it a couple of
- 20:47Speaker 5: weeks ago. What a great facility. And for those that
- 20:49Speaker 5: don't know, it's I mean, I think it's been a
- 20:50Speaker 5: variety of things there. Most recently I think it was
- 20:52Speaker 5: an American Federation for Teachers building. Right, But talk about the
- 20:55Speaker 5: building itself, because it's it's nice. I'll move my office there.
- 20:59Speaker 5: If you move, I'm the whole show. You're more than welcome.
- 21:01Speaker 5: We can setch up a studio right there. No, it
- 21:04Speaker 5: has traditionally been some type of financial services. It has
- 21:09Speaker 5: served to some financial services for a number of years.
- 21:12Speaker 5: I believe it start out originally as Canaw Teachers Credit Union,
- 21:17Speaker 5: was Pioneer Credit Union a number of years ago. It
- 21:21Speaker 5: is a large space, and we intentionally and deliberately identified
- 21:27Speaker 5: that property as a place that we can grow. Right now,
- 21:30Speaker 5: currently it's going to be staffed with about six folks,
- 21:34Speaker 5: but there's room to grow. And that's what we intend
- 21:36Speaker 5: on doing, is growing and serving the people of Charleston
- 21:39Speaker 5: Kanaw Valley, and that building allows us to do that.
- 21:41Speaker 11: And it's a great space. You know it's right on
- 21:43Speaker 11: the boulevard, good Ingress, Egress, good view. People coming up
- 21:47Speaker 11: and down the boulevard can see it, and we're proud
- 21:50Speaker 11: to be there.
- 21:50Speaker 5: We'll talk about the way banking has changed over the
- 21:54Speaker 5: last fifteen to twenty. I mean, I'm old enough to
- 21:58Speaker 5: remember you mentioned south of West Virginia. I no folks
- 22:00Speaker 5: can Ali Valley can.
- 22:01Speaker 12: Uh.
- 22:01Speaker 5: I can recognize this as well, that when going to
- 22:03Speaker 5: the bank was a regular thing. You know that you
- 22:06Speaker 5: got your paycheck and you went to the bank. You
- 22:08Speaker 5: you you you made Most people probably made a couple
- 22:10Speaker 5: of trips a week to the bank for one reason
- 22:12Speaker 5: or another. It's not that way. Talk about the change
- 22:14Speaker 5: in the evolution of banking over these.
- 22:16Speaker 11: Sure, I talked about the changes and then and then
- 22:18Speaker 11: some of the things that I think people hope continue
- 22:21Speaker 11: to be the same.
- 22:22Speaker 5: Uh.
- 22:23Speaker 11: I think that you know, with regard to the change
- 22:25Speaker 11: in banking, obviously, you know, technology has has changed banking
- 22:29Speaker 11: and and and a number of industries and and we've
- 22:32Speaker 11: grown with that. I mean, we have e banking, We
- 22:35Speaker 11: have a remote remote deposit capture. You can you know,
- 22:38Speaker 11: deposit your check with your phone. You can, uh, you
- 22:40Speaker 11: can go online we have a mobile app that people
- 22:42Speaker 11: can use. So so we've adopted those technologies for those
- 22:45Speaker 11: folks that uh, that are comfortable with those technologies, that
- 22:49Speaker 11: that that can uh that that can use them. But UH,
- 22:52Speaker 11: we want to continue to provide that community touch that
- 22:54Speaker 11: has sometimes been lost with uh, with those technological advancements.
- 22:59Speaker 11: You know, you lose connection sometimes to be able to
- 23:02Speaker 11: make those local decisions. And so while we have adopted
- 23:05Speaker 11: all of those modern technologies and all those modern strategies,
- 23:09Speaker 11: we don't want to lose that community touch and that
- 23:11Speaker 11: local feel. And we think we strike a good balance
- 23:16Speaker 11: with those changes but also with the continuity that we
- 23:18Speaker 11: think people appreciate.
- 23:20Speaker 5: Talk about your other locations, because this is your first
- 23:22Speaker 5: location here in the Charleston area, but you've got other locations. Sure,
- 23:25Speaker 5: We've still got our three branches in Mingo County about
- 23:28Speaker 5: fifteen minutes past about in place in the logan is
- 23:31Speaker 5: our main branch. We have a branch in del Barton
- 23:34Speaker 5: and Gilbert. But we also, as I mentioned, you know,
- 23:36Speaker 5: we are expanding our footprint and we recently opened up
- 23:40Speaker 5: branch in Wayne right across from the courthouse last summer.
- 23:45Speaker 5: So we're expanding that footprint, trying to take that community
- 23:49Speaker 5: banking into other markets so we continue to serve the
- 23:52Speaker 5: customers that we have. I think it's interesting again we're
- 23:55Speaker 5: talking to Josh Showers, who's the president and CEO of
- 23:58Speaker 5: Guarantee Bank, opening today in Charleston onto Boulevard. I think
- 24:02Speaker 5: it's it's kind of interesting too that they say, Josh,
- 24:04Speaker 5: everything that is old is new again, right. And you know,
- 24:07Speaker 5: fifteen twenty years ago everything was marching towards the future.
- 24:10Speaker 5: You've kept those things, but now you're kind of going
- 24:12Speaker 5: I don't say going backwards, that's not the right word,
- 24:14Speaker 5: but but you're trying to, as you said, bring in
- 24:16Speaker 5: what we know is community banking, sure to Charleston.
- 24:19Speaker 11: Sure, and and and I think you know, a lot
- 24:21Speaker 11: of folks, you know, we have a lot of mergers
- 24:22Speaker 11: and a lot of acquisitions going on with bigger banks
- 24:25Speaker 11: and and and and they serve their purpose for sure.
- 24:28Speaker 11: But I think what we're seeing and what we've heard
- 24:30Speaker 11: and people that we are beginning to serve and have
- 24:33Speaker 11: served that you know, there are small business customers that
- 24:36Speaker 11: are starting to feel overlooked and and and we think
- 24:40Speaker 11: that you with you know, with some of the advances
- 24:42Speaker 11: with some of the uh just you know market forces
- 24:45Speaker 11: that have been been out there, that it opens up
- 24:49Speaker 11: an opportunity, you know, you know for us and others
- 24:52Speaker 11: to serve those folks that that may feel overlooked.
- 24:55Speaker 5: And that's what we're here to do. Had a text
- 24:56Speaker 5: of the show that somebody wanted to know if you
- 24:58Speaker 5: do a if you have a trust department. Uh, we
- 25:00Speaker 5: do not have a trust department, but we but we
- 25:03Speaker 5: but we can't open up trust accounts. Okay, we don't
- 25:05Speaker 5: have a full fledged apartment, but we can't do that.
- 25:07Speaker 5: All right, And we're gonna be seeing you a lot
- 25:09Speaker 5: around the community as well, because I mean, this is
- 25:11Speaker 5: going to be you guys are going to be very,
- 25:12Speaker 5: very heavily involved in the city of Charleston in the
- 25:14Speaker 5: Kanaal Valley talk about some of those things.
- 25:16Speaker 11: Yes, I mean, as I mentioned, you know, you call
- 25:19Speaker 11: the Brandon Charleston, you know, you're you're going to talk
- 25:21Speaker 11: to somebody that that that is from here. We have
- 25:24Speaker 11: hired a staff that is from Charleston, so they're very
- 25:26Speaker 11: familiar with folks I am.
- 25:28Speaker 3: Uh.
- 25:29Speaker 11: You know, prior to my time at Guarantee Bank, I
- 25:33Speaker 11: worked in Charleston for twenty years. You know, whether I
- 25:35Speaker 11: started out in the public education system, work in state
- 25:37Speaker 11: government for a while, I'm very familiar with Charleston, very
- 25:40Speaker 11: familiar with its people and its businesses and the families here.
- 25:43Speaker 11: And so yes, we're gonna be uh you know, we're
- 25:46Speaker 11: we're starting out today, starting out you know, prior to
- 25:49Speaker 11: actually we've had we've had uh, you know, folks on
- 25:51Speaker 11: staff already serving folks uh here in the valley. So
- 25:54Speaker 11: you're going to see us more. You're going to hear
- 25:56Speaker 11: about us more, and and and we're here to serve.
- 25:59Speaker 5: Talking to joshtown again, who's the president's CEO of Guarantee
- 26:02Speaker 5: Bank the Dave Island Show on five, Edeline Brancho a
- 26:04Speaker 5: pirted by Morgan and Morgan, America's largest injury law firm.
- 26:07Speaker 5: Do you need people? Do you need employees? Because that's
- 26:10Speaker 5: it's a big thing with you know, a lot of
- 26:11Speaker 5: places they right now, right now, we're fully staffed again.
- 26:15Speaker 5: We we hired new staff for this Charleston branch. That
- 26:18Speaker 5: but you know, our intention is is for is for
- 26:20Speaker 5: the Charleston branch to grow and and to need more
- 26:24Speaker 5: folks in the future. As I mentioned the building that
- 26:27Speaker 5: you alluded to a while ago. It's a big building
- 26:29Speaker 5: and we bought it intentionally to be able to grow,
- 26:32Speaker 5: to grow within that building. And so we will, you know,
- 26:36Speaker 5: hopefully sooner rather than later, need more individuals and staffing
- 26:40Speaker 5: to help serve the community. What are the hours of
- 26:42Speaker 5: the bank?
- 26:43Speaker 11: So drive through of them to day thirty Monday through Friday,
- 26:46Speaker 11: and lobby of them's up at nine. We stay up
- 26:49Speaker 11: until five thirty on Monday through Thursday, steven six on Fridays.
- 26:53Speaker 5: And what's something I do with my political candidates? I've
- 26:56Speaker 5: interviewed a lot. I'm going to give you an opportunity
- 26:57Speaker 5: to that as well. I call it the Final thirty.
- 26:59Speaker 5: But it's not it's not time. Why should somebody choose
- 27:02Speaker 5: Guarantee Bank?
- 27:03Speaker 11: Again, I think somebody should choose Guarantee Bank if you
- 27:06Speaker 11: if you want a local touch, if you want a
- 27:08Speaker 11: local feel, if you want to know someone, if you
- 27:10Speaker 11: want to come into a bank or call a bank
- 27:12Speaker 11: and they know where you live and understand the area
- 27:16Speaker 11: and are truly invested in this community and our staff
- 27:20Speaker 11: by people who are from here and invest in this community.
- 27:22Speaker 11: That comebin and see us has said before, we want
- 27:25Speaker 11: to hear your story. We want to shake your hand

- 32:45Speaker 5: who it is that you want to see. You've heard
- 32:47Speaker 5: me talk about it before. The amount of people who
- 32:49Speaker 5: complained about free entertainment is astounding to me. So just
- 32:53Speaker 5: to keep my blood pressure down, I think I'll just
- 32:55Speaker 5: stay off social media this afternoon. Hey, look, w's here.
- 32:57Speaker 5: It's Danny Jones. How you doing, my friend good? Have
- 33:00Speaker 5: you noticed the number of people that complained about free entertainment?
- 33:04Speaker 9: Oh?
- 33:04Speaker 14: They did that when not the Regoda went broke one
- 33:10Speaker 14: and Jay Goldman says, why don't you take it this year?
- 33:14Speaker 14: And I took it and made ninety two thousand dollars
- 33:18Speaker 14: And the people complained.
- 33:21Speaker 5: I just I mean, and people like what they like,
- 33:23Speaker 5: and I get that. But but when this announcement is
- 33:25Speaker 5: made at ten thirty, hundreds of comments on our site,
- 33:28Speaker 5: the TV station sites, whatever, they'll say, well, why don't
- 33:30Speaker 5: they bring anybody? Well, it's free you know, it's something
- 33:34Speaker 5: bring anybody good, and they don't understand the way concerts work,
- 33:38Speaker 5: you know, And it costs, I mean a lot of
- 33:40Speaker 5: money to bring I mean, people have no idea what
- 33:42Speaker 5: it actually costs.
- 33:43Speaker 14: They don't know who's available.
- 33:45Speaker 5: It's about availability.
- 33:47Speaker 14: Uh.
- 33:47Speaker 5: And it's also it's not just the artists themselves. It
- 33:50Speaker 5: cost a lot of money to bring these people in.
- 33:53Speaker 5: And I'm talking about for the sound equipment and the state.
- 33:57Speaker 5: Many times artists I've been in this business for you know,
- 34:00Speaker 5: artists will come in with an exact we have to
- 34:03Speaker 5: have this this kind of lighting and whatever, and if
- 34:07Speaker 5: you don't have it, then then there's no show.
- 34:09Speaker 14: It's the State still up on the boulevard.
- 34:13Speaker 5: The State, the stage on the stage. Yeah.
- 34:16Speaker 14: Yeah, they don't do it down in the down the park.
- 34:19Speaker 5: No, no, no, it's no, it's on stage.
- 34:21Speaker 14: That's twenty to forty grand if not.
- 34:23Speaker 5: That's the conservative figure. I mean. But but you're right
- 34:26Speaker 5: about that. So you got any good REGARTSA stories for
- 34:29Speaker 5: me before we get into more serious stuff.
- 34:32Speaker 14: No, it was that's Saturday night. I had Taylor Dane
- 34:38Speaker 14: booked and also had Winston Walls booked and it rained,
- 34:42Speaker 14: Yeah until we didn't get to here.
- 34:44Speaker 5: There's nothing that you can do about the weather. I
- 34:46Speaker 5: mean that's another thing too, when you're talking. I mean
- 34:48Speaker 5: you can have around the fourth of July, you can
- 34:51Speaker 5: have you know, sweltering heats. You can have lightning, which
- 34:54Speaker 5: we had a couple of years ago. I mean, there's
- 34:56Speaker 5: nothing you can do about in the weather.
- 34:58Speaker 3: All right.
- 34:58Speaker 5: So I was in Morgan Town Saturday, Danny, as I mentioned,
- 35:02Speaker 5: for the Broadcast Association Awards, when the word broke about
- 35:06Speaker 5: what happened at the White House correspondence dinner with President Trump.
- 35:10Speaker 14: Your thoughts, I don't know, what do they not know
- 35:20Speaker 14: to expect this kind of stuff. I mean, he ran
- 35:24Speaker 14: through there like Bob Hayes. I mean I don't get it.
- 35:31Speaker 14: I don't get why he wasn't caught before before he
- 35:34Speaker 14: was caught.
- 35:35Speaker 5: Yeah, and he had booked the room months in advance.
- 35:38Speaker 14: Well that's different.
- 35:39Speaker 2: Now.
- 35:39Speaker 5: My point is is that he's not somebody that just
- 35:41Speaker 5: like walked in off the street. He he had he'd booked,
- 35:45Speaker 5: you know, to be there in advance. So uh, but
- 35:48Speaker 5: but I agree with you. What about all these conspiracy theories?
- 35:51Speaker 5: Do you know? Because I mean, as soon here's the thing,
- 35:53Speaker 5: about it, Danny. If you are pro Trump, then you
- 35:56Speaker 5: are going to see it as obviously a tragedy. If
- 35:59Speaker 5: you're anti tr Trump and my anti Trump people you know,
- 36:03Speaker 5: hit it immediately saying all staged, all fake. That Butler
- 36:06Speaker 5: Pennsylvania may or may not have been real, but this
- 36:10Speaker 5: entire thing was fake because afterwards the president gives a
- 36:13Speaker 5: speech about why he needs ballroom. It does raise some suspicions.
- 36:17Speaker 5: I'll believe it.
- 36:17Speaker 14: I'll leave it there.
- 36:18Speaker 5: I don't know where I am on that. But your
- 36:20Speaker 5: thought about people saying the whole thing was faked.
- 36:24Speaker 14: It wasn't fake. And the second thing is I had
- 36:27Speaker 14: a lady yesterday morning that I work out with who's
- 36:34Speaker 14: I've never used the term. She has Trump arrangement syndrome.
- 36:39Speaker 14: And she came up to me and she said, well,
- 36:41Speaker 14: when you precht, that's what happened. When you're what when
- 36:45Speaker 14: you preach hat oh prechate Okay, okay, yeah, that's what happened.
- 36:48Speaker 14: And I thought, I'm going to go work. Let me
- 36:52Speaker 14: go with some weight. I mean, it's just crazy. He
- 36:56Speaker 14: was sitting up there with his wife, you know, and
- 37:00Speaker 14: I think I was kind of glad he was back there.
- 37:02Speaker 14: I mean the President.
- 37:05Speaker 5: Yeah, and he had boycotted this because one thing that
- 37:09Speaker 5: we all know about Donald Trump and those that are
- 37:11Speaker 5: close to him is he does not have much of
- 37:13Speaker 5: a sense of humor. He cannot stand He can't make
- 37:16Speaker 5: fun of himself like other presidents have done, like Reagan did,
- 37:19Speaker 5: and like Bush did, and like Clinton and Obama did.
- 37:22Speaker 5: He does not do that, and he has stayed away
- 37:26Speaker 5: from this. It was interesting was before I left for
- 37:28Speaker 5: Morgantown Saturday, I was flipping through the channels and I
- 37:31Speaker 5: had it on CNN, and I don't know who the
- 37:33Speaker 5: guy was. He has his own show on CNN. But
- 37:36Speaker 5: he was given the president advice about what to do
- 37:38Speaker 5: at the White House correspondence dinner, and of course this
- 37:41Speaker 5: was obviously hours before what you know, the attempt on
- 37:43Speaker 5: his life. But he said, mister President, can you know
- 37:47Speaker 5: you're to be commended for going have some fun, laugh
- 37:52Speaker 5: a little bit, make fun of yourself, you know, And
- 37:56Speaker 5: because that's not something he is is known for. I
- 38:01Speaker 5: think that Trump derangement syndrome goes both ways. I think
- 38:04Speaker 5: that there are a lot of people whose very existence
- 38:08Speaker 5: is to speak out against Donald Trump. That's they get
- 38:11Speaker 5: up in the morning and they start doing it like
- 38:12Speaker 5: the person you mentioned. But I also think that Trump
- 38:15Speaker 5: derangement syndrome can people can be people who worship the
- 38:18Speaker 5: guy and that can't see any fault in him. Whatsoever.
- 38:23Speaker 14: He gets to know, he gets very little free rent
- 38:27Speaker 14: in my mind, I don't. I just don't. I mean,
- 38:32Speaker 14: I'll read the the national papers in the morning, but
- 38:38Speaker 14: I just don't.
- 38:40Speaker 5: To me, I mean, I'm as you know my story.
- 38:43Speaker 5: I voted for Trump twice. I did not vote for
- 38:45Speaker 5: him the last time. I'm not a Trump guy. If
- 38:47Speaker 5: I went off the went off the Trump train January sixth. Okay, However,
- 38:52Speaker 5: I want him to do well. I want the country
- 38:55Speaker 5: to do well. That makes me a decent American, I
- 38:58Speaker 5: think because I don't wake up every morning, you know,
- 39:00Speaker 5: and immediately hit social media and say, how how can
- 39:03Speaker 5: I make fun? How can I trash Donald Trump today?
- 39:06Speaker 5: Because I'm not gonna let him live rent free. In
- 39:08Speaker 5: my head, He's the president. The people voted for him,
- 39:12Speaker 5: so be it to why it works in theory Texas,
- 39:16Speaker 5: Lord of Guy here Dave. Fake news media and Democrats
- 39:18Speaker 5: had their hopes dashed last night that Donald Trump wasn't
- 39:21Speaker 5: assassinated in a third attempt. They had hoped this was
- 39:26Speaker 5: it and was prepared to celebrate into the night of
- 39:28Speaker 5: the death of the president and are furious that it failed.
- 39:32Speaker 14: Well, I think that's the other side you're talking about.
- 39:36Speaker 14: You were talking about the other side of the Trump arrangements. Yeah, yeah,
- 39:41Speaker 14: And I think that that illustrates it right there.
- 39:44Speaker 5: Yeah. Well, okay, somebody sent me something that is way
- 39:48Speaker 5: too much to read. Let me just read some of it.
- 39:52Speaker 5: As I watched what happened Saturday night, I was screaming
- 39:54Speaker 5: to my television it was you people there in that
- 39:56Speaker 5: room who contributed to this evil Then they are shot
- 40:00Speaker 5: and ask how could this happen? Twenty five percent of
- 40:03Speaker 5: very liberal people say political violence can sometimes be justified,
- 40:06Speaker 5: among the conservative people at just three percent. In other words,
- 40:09Speaker 5: the far left is eight times more likely to support
- 40:12Speaker 5: political violence as the far right. Stop pretending this is
- 40:15Speaker 5: a both sides problem.
- 40:16Speaker 3: It's not.
- 40:20Speaker 14: There are people, and the left is trying to find
- 40:27Speaker 14: somebody to replace Joe Rogan, and they've got a guy
- 40:33Speaker 14: and I don't know his name, but I saw him,
- 40:37Speaker 14: and he'd think it was perfectly justified to have shot
- 40:41Speaker 14: that healthcare CEO and the rear a lot of.
- 40:43Speaker 5: People think that. Yeah, I mean people that I seemingly,
- 40:48Speaker 5: seemingly normal, nice people said that about the shooting of
- 40:51Speaker 5: the United United Healthcare CEO, that well, it's terrible that
- 40:55Speaker 5: it happened because of his wife and kids. But look
- 40:57Speaker 5: how many deaths he's caused. When you start thinking like that.
- 41:00Speaker 14: What did he call?
- 41:02Speaker 5: Well because of their words, mismanagement of health systems and
- 41:06Speaker 5: rising with this mismanagement. Hassan Piker is the person that
- 41:14Speaker 5: somebody texted in I.
- 41:15Speaker 3: Guess that's it.
- 41:15Speaker 5: Okay, that's a guy, Okay, all right, but we've got there's.
- 41:20Speaker 14: Nothing attractive about his delivery, nothing about what he says. Nothing, okay.
- 41:26Speaker 14: J Rgan's funny, Yeah, I get his CLI started out
- 41:29Speaker 14: in comedy. He was the host of The Man Show.
- 41:31Speaker 14: He was the second of The Man Show on Comedy Central.
- 41:35Speaker 14: He's funny and I enjoy him.
- 41:39Speaker 5: I just wish we had more people that that. I mean.
- 41:42Speaker 5: The thing about Rushling Baugh that what in Rushling Bass
- 41:45Speaker 5: single handily saved talk radio and AM radio. He made
- 41:49Speaker 5: talk radio, but Rush Rush did things with a sense
- 41:55Speaker 5: of humor. I mean, to a certain extent. Now, some
- 41:59Speaker 5: of the things left a lot of people call the
- 42:01Speaker 5: homeless updates and things of that nature. But Rush, you know,
- 42:04Speaker 5: when when people don't really When Rush was saying with
- 42:07Speaker 5: you know, the talent on loan from God and these
- 42:10Speaker 5: things that he said, he was basically making fun of
- 42:12Speaker 5: himself and well, we just don't have that sense of humor.
- 42:15Speaker 14: When it really changed, when he really picked up stem
- 42:19Speaker 14: was nineteen ninety and it was during I started listening, yeah,
- 42:23Speaker 14: during Desert Storm. And he had the characters, all the
- 42:29Speaker 14: characters are going to play all the parts. And he
- 42:34Speaker 14: had himself playing Norman Schwartzkoff, you know, he had he
- 42:39Speaker 14: had he had these actors playing all these parts. And
- 42:44Speaker 14: there was Mitt Snyder who was the homeless advocate. Mitt
- 42:50Speaker 14: Snyder came here one time. He was the homeless advocate.
- 42:53Speaker 14: He was the guy who wore camouflage, and he was
- 42:57Speaker 14: very well known nationally, and Rush called him the dust
- 43:01Speaker 14: of the Desert Storm. I mean, it was just, I mean,
- 43:08Speaker 14: Rush changed in ninety two when Busor lost the election
- 43:17Speaker 14: and they started getting serious. Now you started, I mean,
- 43:22Speaker 14: you started going after Clinton a little hard. I thought,
- 43:26Speaker 14: I mean, what's the big deal?
- 43:28Speaker 10: Why?
- 43:29Speaker 14: I don't know too much.
- 43:31Speaker 5: For me, Tex says the only Trump derangement syndrome is
- 43:35Speaker 5: in his own hateful, demented mind. To journalist Nora O'Donnell
- 43:38Speaker 5: in sixty minute, Trump said, I was waiting for you
- 43:40Speaker 5: to read that because I know you would, because you're
- 43:43Speaker 5: a horrible person. I'm not a rapist. I didn't rape anybody.
- 43:45Speaker 5: I'm not a pedophile. Excuse me, you read that crap
- 43:47Speaker 5: from a sick person. I was totally exonerated. You should
- 43:50Speaker 5: be ashamed of yourself reading that. You're a disgrace. That's
- 43:52Speaker 5: what he said. According to the texture to Nora o'donn.
- 43:57Speaker 14: I don't. I'm not aware of that, and exonerated.
- 44:03Speaker 5: Text says Joe Rogan was not the host of The
- 44:05Speaker 5: Man Show. It was Jimmy Kimmel and Adam Carolla. Joe
- 44:08Speaker 5: Rogan started on news radio and then hosted Fear Factor.
- 44:11Speaker 5: Dims forget that they did have Joe Rogan until they
- 44:13Speaker 5: started yelling calling him a nutcase. Now, Joe, I'm gonna
- 44:18Speaker 5: take issue with that. Joe Rogan was the second host
- 44:20Speaker 5: of The Man Show, he and Doug Stone. The text
- 44:23Speaker 5: is right, Jimmy Kimmel and Adam Carola had the original,
- 44:26Speaker 5: but when that went away, Rogan was the host of
- 44:29Speaker 5: The Man.
- 44:29Speaker 14: In twenty sixteen, he endorsed Bernie Sanders.
- 44:35Speaker 9: You know.
- 44:37Speaker 5: Text, Dave, America is back on track as the leading
- 44:39Speaker 5: country in the world. Think God, President Trump is our president.
- 44:42Speaker 5: He and his policies are the reason for this. Thanks.
- 44:47Speaker 14: I think he's I think we got our you know what,
- 44:51Speaker 14: Caughton a ringer over there in Iran and that's straight
- 44:55Speaker 14: ouf Horr moves. I hope I'm wrong, Texas.
- 44:59Speaker 5: When do we I believe the evidence presented to our
- 45:01Speaker 5: eyes and ears? When new coincidences quit being coincidence. It's
- 45:05Speaker 5: talking about the I mean, I'm assuming about the Trump assassinations.
- 45:08Speaker 5: Tim tex says a lefty Joe Rogan type won't catch
- 45:11Speaker 5: on with Democrats and liberals like it happened with conservative
- 45:14Speaker 5: Conservatives are programmed like sheep to believe what they're told.
- 45:17Speaker 5: From Rush to Joe, Conservatives will believe what they're told,
- 45:20Speaker 5: especially when they're scared.
- 45:26Speaker 14: I'm lost, all right.
- 45:28Speaker 5: It is eight minutes away from Tim to Dave Island

- 48:25Speaker 5: you talked about that.
- 48:26Speaker 14: During the well that what you got to remember is
- 48:31Speaker 14: public radio that's hard left, and the three major networks,
- 48:37Speaker 14: in my opinion, they're not hard left, but they're left.
- 48:44Speaker 14: Sixty minutes Jane Pauley on that Sunday Morning.

- 48:59Speaker 14: Know well, and Jonathan Carl has written two books negative
- 49:03Speaker 14: about Trump, but for some reason they get along.
- 49:06Speaker 5: Yeah, he's always name dropping Trump on the morning show.
- 49:09Speaker 5: I said, yeah, I just got off the phone with
- 49:10Speaker 5: the President.
- 49:11Speaker 14: I listened to him yesterday and he said, he called
- 49:14Speaker 14: me at seven o'clock this morning. And now Sepanopolis, he's
- 49:21Speaker 14: in with Carvil and Bagallan. He's he doesn't even try
- 49:26Speaker 14: to hide it. But the three major networks and every
- 49:31Speaker 14: cable except for Fox, and people get mad about Fox.
- 49:35Speaker 5: Every major newspaper I mean pretty much. I mean the
- 49:37Speaker 5: newspapers are still around, they're just online now. But you know,
- 49:40Speaker 5: just about every major newspaper.
- 49:42Speaker 14: New York Post is conservative. They now have a California Post.
- 49:49Speaker 14: I haven't read it yet, but it's it's there. Maybe
- 49:52Speaker 14: it's online, maybe check it out. But but yeah, most
- 49:58Speaker 14: Wall Street Journal is mainstream in its news. It leans
- 50:04Speaker 14: right in its editorial page, but not so much. They're
- 50:08Speaker 14: not fans of President Trump.
- 50:10Speaker 5: No, no, they're not at all.
- 50:11Speaker 14: They're not fans of Trump.
