- 0:01Once we recognize that we cannot trust the mental faculty to keep
- 0:06the vital desire soul in check. The question arises as to how it
- 0:11is, then possible to truly examine the underlying motives
- 0:16and Wellsprings of our thoughts feelings and actions without
- 0:21falling victim to the kind of bias that the vital influence on
- 0:25the mind creates, without such a mechanism.
- 0:29We have little hope of effectuating, any real and
- 0:32Lasting change in human nature. The mother proposes, a
- 0:37methodology that bypasses the ordinary mental justification
- 0:41process, rather it puts each thought, feeling and action up
- 0:47in front of the screen of the psychic being the sole entity
- 0:51and its highest aspiration, and filters them, according to their
- 0:56adherence, to the highest standards and Aspirations of the
- 1:00Soul without concern for the vital desire, or the mental
- 1:06justification, the mother observes quote.
- 1:11If, in your mind, you go over the various movements and
- 1:14reactions of the day like one repeating indefinitely the same
- 1:18thing, you will not progress if this reviewing is to make you
- 1:24progress, you must find something within you in whose
- 1:28light you can. Be yourself your own judge
- 1:32something which represents for you, the best part of yourself,
- 1:36which has some light, some Goodwill, and which precisely is
- 1:42in love with progress. Place that before you and first
- 1:47pass across it as in a cinema. All that you have done all that.
- 1:52You have felt your impulses, your thoughts, Etc.
- 1:58Then try to coordinate them. That is find out why this is
- 2:02followed that. And look at the Luminous screen
- 2:05that is, before you certain things pass by well, without
- 2:10throwing a shadow. Others on the contrary, throw a
- 2:13little Shadow others Yet. Cast a shadow all together black
- 2:17and disagreeable you must do this.
- 2:21Very sincerely as though you were playing a game under such
- 2:26circumstances, I did such and such a thing feeling like this
- 2:30and thinking in this way I have before me my ideal of knowledge
- 2:35and self-mastery. Well, was this act in keeping
- 2:40with my ideal or not? If it was, it would not leave
- 2:44any shadow on the screen, which would remain transparent.
- 2:49And when would not have to worry about it, if it is not in
- 2:53Conformity, it casts a shadow. Why has it left the shadow?
- 2:59What was there in this act? That was contrary to the will to
- 3:02self-knowledge and self-mastery. And co-reference, SRI, aurobindo
