- 1:14marriage supper of the Lamb. We look forward, God, for you to
- 1:18prepare a banquet for us in the presence of our enemy.
- 1:21Yeah, though we walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
- 1:25You were there with us. You comfort us, God.
- 1:27Your rod and your staff, God, are there to bind the enemy Lord
- 1:33from off of this time. Bind the enemy God from off of
- 1:36our lives, from off of our families.
- 1:38Lord, you are majestic. We love you.
- 1:40King Jesus, it's in your holy and precious and powerful name
- 1:44that I pray. Amen.
- 1:48Well, let's start in verse one. And the old earth was of one
- 1:52language and of 1 speech. And it came to pass as they
- 1:55journeyed from the east that they found a plain in the land
- 1:59of Shinar and they dwelt there. So we're going to see that this
- 2:03Nimrod is going to cause a revolt against a good and holy
- 2:09and awesome and amazing God. And he is going to try to
- 2:14manipulate the masses into turning their hearts away from
- 2:20God because they do not want to have to fear God.
- 2:24They do not want to have to listen to God.
- 2:26They do not want to have to live to live under his rules.
- 2:30And they want to build this waterproof tower up to the
- 2:34heavens so they can study the stars, so they can figure out if
- 2:37anything's going to happen, because God uses the stars and
- 2:44the planets above us to speak to us.
- 2:46And they are trying to get in to this occult practice of
- 2:54astrology. And they are wanting to usurp
- 2:59God's authority, and they're wanting to be their own gods.
- 3:04And Nimrod was the mastermind behind this satanic revolt. 3
- 3:11And they said to one another, Go, go to let us make brick and
- 3:15burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone,
- 3:18and slime had they for mortar. So this was a petroleum based
- 3:22product, the same that he used for the pitch over the ark, the
- 3:26same that Moses's mother pitched over the basket to keep it
- 3:32waterproof. And that is the purpose of the
- 3:34slime that they had made for. And they said, go to let us
- 3:38build a city up, let us build a city and a tower whose top may
- 3:43reach to heaven, and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered
- 3:47abroad upon the face of the whole earth.
- 3:49It's almost as if they had an inclination that God was going
- 3:55to already scatter them. And so they wanted this revolt
- 3:59to try to stay together, and they wanted to put their minds
- 4:02together and be of 1 accord. But God saw through it and he's
- 4:06going to do something about it. And you can see that the
- 4:10wickedness here where they're trying to make a name for
- 4:12themselves, and it's no different than the original sin.
- 4:16And you see the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh and
- 4:20the pride of life creep up already.
- 4:24And just because God had flooded the whole earth, the human
- 4:28nature doesn't change. We are sinful from birth,
- 4:31friends, and we radically need a Savior.
- 4:34We need to be made new. We need a new heart and a new
- 4:37mind. We need Jesus Christ's blood to
- 4:40cover us. And we need to know our worth in
- 4:43Jesus Christ. And that's the only way that
- 4:46mankind will ever be changed. If we're left to our own
- 4:49devices, we will self destruct 10 times out of 10.
- 4:55Five. And the Lord came down to see
- 4:56the city and the tower which the children of men built.
- 5:00So here comes Jesus Christ, another Christophany, and he's
- 5:04looking and he's inspecting much like he did back in Revelation
- 5:08whenever he was inspecting the churches.
- 5:10Here he is. He's inspecting this tower in
- 5:13this city and anytime you see a city pop up, it's rebellion.
- 5:19Friends, we are called to be sojourners, to go with the Lord
- 5:23calls us to anywhere in the whole world that the world that
- 5:28the Lord calls us to. That's where we go.
- 5:30Send me Lord 6 And the Lord said, behold, the people are
- 5:35one, and they have one language, and this they begin to do, and
- 5:40now nothing will be restrained from them which they have
- 5:43imagined to do. So here it is friends, you can
- 5:46see that God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost
- 5:51three and one having a counsel. And they're saying, look at the
- 5:54humans. If they all put their minds
- 5:56together of 1 accord, there's nothing that will be impossible
- 6:00to them. And that is where we have
- 6:02arrived today with all of the introduction of the technology
- 6:07that we have and the ability to speak to each other real time
- 6:14and understand other languages real time.
- 6:17It is no different. And we see all of the
- 6:19advancements in the medical field, all the advancements
- 6:23friends in the industry, all the advancements in education, all
- 6:30the advancements. But there's a cost.
- 6:33There is a price to pay. And the price is we invent new
- 6:36ways of sinning against God. 7 go to let us go down and
- 6:45confound their language, that they may not understand one
- 6:48another's speech. There we see God the Father, God
- 6:51the Son, God the Holy Ghost. 3 and 1 coming to spread people
- 6:56across the earth and to break down the language and make every
- 7:02single one of them speak differently so they cannot
- 7:05understand themselves. And just as much as you did not
- 7:10create the circuits inside of your brain that tell each other
- 7:16what to do, this is the gift of God.
- 7:19Language is the gift of God, friends, and that is what you
- 7:23need to understand. Man did not invent language.
- 7:26God gave it to him. And here we can see that God, in
- 7:29this instance, he confounded them and made it to where they
- 7:34could not understand each other for thousands and thousands and
- 7:41thousands of years. And it's not until the last
- 7:46little bit of time that we have all come back to the same accord
- 7:50as we are today. 8 So the Lord scattered them abroad from there
- 7:54upon the face of all the earth, and they left off to build the
- 7:57city. So they did not finish building
- 8:00the city. And there are actually people
- 8:03who have tried to go out and find this mound that this
- 8:10ziggurat sat on in the plain of Shinar, and some have said that
- 8:15that would be the place that it is.
- 8:17But Needless to say, we know that this story is true.
- 8:20And it's not just figurative and it's not just a feel good, sound
- 8:27good story. This is a actual reality,
- 8:30friends, and we see that the condition of man's heart is
- 8:36rebellion against the holy God apart from a relationship with
- 8:40Him through Jesus Christ. 9 therefore is the name of the
- 8:44city called Babel, because the Lord did confound the language
- 8:48of all the earth. From there did the Lord scatter
- 8:51them abroad upon the face of all the earth.
- 8:54And that's exactly what happened.
- 8:56God came down and he scattered them abroad and caused them to
- 9:02speak different languages, and even still to this day these
- 9:06languages exist. 10 These are the generations of Shem.
- 9:11Shem was 100 years old and had our Foxod 2 years after the
- 9:16flood. So we know that we came or the
- 9:19Messiah came through our Foxod through Shem. 11 And Shem lived
- 9:24after he had our Foxod 500 years and he had sons and daughters.
- 9:2912 And our Foxod lived 5 and 30 years and had Salah 13 And our
- 9:35Foxhub lived and he had Salah 403 years and had sons and
- 9:41daughters. 14 Salah lived 30 years and had Eber 15 And Salah
- 9:47lived after he had Eber 403 years and had sons and
- 9:52daughters. So that Eber is where we get the
- 9:54name Hebrew from. 16 And Eber lived 4 and 30 years and had
- 9:59Peleg. 17 And Eber lived after he had Peleg 430 years and had
- 10:05sons and daughters. 18 And Pileg lived 30 years and had rue. 19
- 10:12and Pileg lived after he had rue 209 years.
- 10:16And he had sons and daughters. 20 And Rue lived 230 years and
- 10:21had Saroog. 21 And Rue lived after he had Saroog 207 years.
- 10:26And he had sons and daughters. 22 And Saroog lived 30 years and
- 10:31had Nahor 23 and Saroog lived after he had Nahor 200 years and
- 10:37had sons and daughters. 24 And Nahor lived 9 and 20 years and
- 10:42had Terra 25 and Nahor lived after he had Terra 119 years and
- 10:49he had sons and daughters. So if you notice here, Noah died
- 10:52at 900, and then we see his sons dying sooner, and then we see
- 10:58four hundreds and then we see two hundreds, and then we
- 11:01finally arrive here to the 119 years.
- 11:06And that is how you see the lifespan of man dwindling down
- 11:10from the 9 hundreds to the 120. And God said it would be so 26
- 11:17And Terra lived 70 years, and he had Abram, Nahor, and Haran.
- 11:23So we see here this is the father of faith, Abraham.
- 11:26We see the lineage here. And what an amazing thought is
- 11:30that Adam and Eve could have told their son and they lived
- 11:361000 years and they lived 1000 years.
- 11:38And they told their son they lived 1000 years.
- 11:41They told Noah and then Noah told his sons.
- 11:45And then here his sons touch this Abram and you can see how
- 11:534000 years of biblical history overlap each other and they all
- 12:00played the telephone game from creation and how it all went
- 12:04down. And we see that the Bible is
- 12:06trustworthy and true. It's not man made and invented.
- 12:10We can build our life on it and we'll never be put to shame.
- 12:13And we see that this Haran, this was the son that died, and he
- 12:17was grieving, Tarah was grieving over.
- 12:21And we see Abram taking Haran's son, his nephew Lot with him. 27
- 12:28These are the generations that Tarah, Tarah had Abram, Nehor,
- 12:31Haran, and Haran had Lot. 28 And Haran died before his father
- 12:37Tarah in the land of the nativity and the ER of the
- 12:40Chaldees. So perhaps they were idol
- 12:43worshippers, they were Gentiles, and God called them out.
- 12:47He called Abraham out, and he wanted to make a peculiar nation
- 12:52unto himself, to be a light to all the world friends, and he
- 12:57called him out of the land of the earth, the Chaldees. 29 And
- 13:01Abram and Nahor took them wives, and the name of Abraham's wife
- 13:05was Sarai, and the name of Nahor's wife Milka, the daughter
- 13:09of Haran, the father of Milka and the father of Iska. 30 But
- 13:14Sarai was barren, she had no child.
- 13:17So here you need to know that God has a master plan, and he
- 13:23always works on our faith. And that is what it's about to
- 13:26happen. He's about to make Abraham the
- 13:29father of faith. When Abraham was faithless, God
- 13:32was faithful. 31 And Tara took Abram his son, and Lot the son
- 13:39of Haran his son son, and Sarah his daughter-in-law his son
- 13:44Abram's wife. And they went forth with them
- 13:47from ur the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan, and they
- 13:50came unto Haran and dwelt there. So that was the land that was
- 13:55named after the son that died prematurely.
- 13:58And instead of going all the way into the promised land, as God
- 14:03had told him to, they stopped and mourned and grieved.
- 14:07And this was a time of disobedience, because they were
- 14:12supposed to go in. 32 In the days of Tarah were 205 years,
- 14:18and Tarah died in Haran. He was an old man grieving over
- 14:22his son. Wow.
- 14:25What an amazing Bible. What an amazing book.
- 14:28This is the only piece of literature known to mankind that
- 14:31has the track record to be able to predict itself with the
- 14:35pinpoint accuracy that it does, which proves that it's
- 14:38trustworthy and true. And we can bank on every
- 14:41syllable, every jot and every title, and you'll never be put
- 14:45to shame. Do not call any of this into
- 14:48question. It's exactly the way that it
- 14:50says it. Our God is faithful even when
- 14:55we're not. I pray that you've been blessed
- 14:59by this amazing chapter in God's Word.
- 15:01I know I sure have. I'm praying for every single one
- 15:04of you. I love you.
- 15:05We'll see you back here tomorrow.
- 15:07God bless you.
