- 0:55Welcome to a Monday edition of Lunch with
- 0:57the Clydesdale.
- 1:00Good to be with you all tough.
- 1:02Get up the morning this morning, man.
- 1:04It finally,
- 1:05we had lots of hot temperatures last week.
- 1:08Got up to a nice cool morning this
- 1:10morning and, uh, just trying to stay warm.
- 1:14So, man,
- 1:15there's a lot of people in the chat
- 1:17already.
- 1:17We've got Jason born.
- 1:19We've got Daniel Arnson.
- 1:21We've got Vicki, Joseph, Amanda, Jody.
- 1:26What is going on everybody?
- 1:29Uh, flying solo today.
- 1:31I think so.
- 1:32Um, haven't heard from Corey today.
- 1:35So, uh, but that's just how it is.
- 1:39Sometimes he's in the,
- 1:40in the green room when I get here,
- 1:42sometimes he's not.
- 1:44And, uh, with that, we just,
- 1:46we just fly any way we need to
- 1:50on the day.
- 1:50So if it's solo, it's solo.
- 1:53If it's not, it's not.
- 1:55Um, but anyway, uh,
- 1:58Hope everybody had a great weekend.
- 2:01My mom was in town.
- 2:02We did a lot of stuff.
- 2:04Went to brunch yesterday at a nice place
- 2:08here in town called Tupelo Honey.
- 2:12Had a really good time with her there.
- 2:15Food was exceptional.
- 2:16Tried something new that I'd never ever
- 2:19even heard of before called Shakshuka.
- 2:23Shakshuka.
- 2:25and look at me shock shoe good uh
- 2:27as the cowboy shows up sorry out of
- 2:30the blue man work work work work work
- 2:34work work on a work call it's all
- 2:36right were you singing rihanna or just
- 2:38telling us an excuse both okay uh
- 2:46so daniel arnson you don't like two
- 2:49pillows chicken and waffles i had that too
- 2:52my wife and i got chicken and waffles
- 2:53and this shakshuka split it each had half
- 2:58uh the uh chicken on the two pillows
- 3:02chicken and waffles got me it it didn't
- 3:05look spicy because it didn't have any
- 3:07sauce or anything on it took a bite
- 3:09into it caught me on the back end
- 3:14That's what she said.
- 3:15And then eight hours later caught me on
- 3:16the back end.
- 3:17Actually caught you on the back end, yeah.
- 3:21This shakshuka, have you ever heard of it?
- 3:23No.
- 3:24Can't say that.
- 3:25So it's grits with like a tomato sauce
- 3:29with spinach and tomatoes over the top of
- 3:32it.
- 3:33And then they put a poached egg in
- 3:35it.
- 3:36Oh, hell yeah.
- 3:37That sounds amazing.
- 3:39It was really, really good.
- 3:41Yeah, that sounds right up my alley.
- 3:42Yeah,
- 3:43I would have that again and again and
- 3:46again.
- 3:47More than twice.
- 3:52Yeah, that was eight hours later, Daniel.
- 3:55It's funny, dude.
- 3:56My...
- 3:59I do all the,
- 3:59which I've said a million times,
- 4:01I do all the cooking around the house.
- 4:03So yesterday I was grilling chicken and
- 4:07Jameson's watching me and she's eight.
- 4:10And she looks at me, she goes,
- 4:12go put barbecue sauce on that.
- 4:15And I said,
- 4:15do you see all the seasoning that's on
- 4:17this chicken?
- 4:19Like,
- 4:20It's not supposed to.
- 4:21It doesn't normally look like that.
- 4:23You can see all the things on it.
- 4:24She goes,
- 4:25I'm going to put barbecue sauce on mine.
- 4:27I was like,
- 4:27you don't need sauce on everything, child.
- 4:33It's got plenty.
- 4:34Trust me.
- 4:34It's going to make its own sauce.
- 4:35That's the whole point of what I'm doing
- 4:36right now.
- 4:37Yeah, she needs to meet my wife.
- 4:39My wife doesn't eat anything without
- 4:41sauce.
- 4:42They'd fall right in with each other.
- 4:47Traditional doesn't have grits.
- 4:49so vicky apparently has had like shakshuka
- 4:52before i i'm assuming i'm i'm guessing
- 4:57it's an african dish just by the title
- 5:00and like kind of the makeup of it
- 5:02and i think they gave it a southern
- 5:04spin by putting it over grits so sounds
- 5:09amazing we had a new restaurant just
- 5:11opened up over here that's like uh
- 5:15Caribbean slash African slash something or
- 5:18another called Coda.
- 5:20I cannot wait to go try it out
- 5:21because it sounds amazing.
- 5:23Yeah, my wife and I,
- 5:24now that it's just the two of us,
- 5:25like we're trying to take time to
- 5:28ourselves on a weekend and do like a
- 5:30brunch or a lunch somewhere new and
- 5:35different because like I live in Columbus,
- 5:38but there are parts of the city I've
- 5:40never been to in twenty years.
- 5:43Purposely or just circumstance?
- 5:46It's just big.
- 5:47You just get trapped in your own little
- 5:49neighborhood.
- 5:51Yeah.
- 5:51And we've been to all the places around
- 5:54here.
- 5:54I'm ready to try something new.
- 5:57Understandable.
- 5:58I would be too.
- 6:00Or I am most of the time,
- 6:01but it's real easy,
- 6:04especially with that kind of stuff.
- 6:05You get trapped in your little circle that
- 6:07you've been doing the entire time.
- 6:08You're like, where do you want to go?
- 6:09You want to go try this place?
- 6:10No, I do not.
- 6:15uh daniel says when will leaderboards go
- 6:16live that is three p.m this afternoon or
- 6:19two p.m if you're central noon pacific
- 6:22yeah nobody cares about mountain time in
- 6:25antarctica it is no i don't nobody cares
- 6:29about mountain town in australia the
- 6:31leaderboard's already live how about that
- 6:34huh i just made that up i don't
- 6:35even
- 6:38Yeah, I guess we'll just dive into that.
- 6:42But David said, to be fair,
- 6:44there are parts of Columbus I wouldn't
- 6:45want to visit.
- 6:46Yes, there are.
- 6:50There's parts of every city that you don't
- 6:51want to go there.
- 6:52You don't want to visit.
- 6:54But honestly,
- 6:55I used to work near one of the
- 6:57bad areas,
- 6:59and there's some really good food in the
- 7:01bad area.
- 7:02oh yeah some of the best soul food
- 7:05i've ever had i would not be in
- 7:08their parking lot once the sun went down
- 7:11period place called the table is bread in
- 7:13north baton rouge walk in they were happy
- 7:17to see us
- 7:19And it was, like, cafeteria style.
- 7:23So, like, give me some of that.
- 7:24Give me some of that.
- 7:24Give me some of that.
- 7:25The best greens I've ever eaten in my
- 7:27entire life were at the table as bread.
- 7:29Shrimp and, basically,
- 7:32just shrimp and tomatoes, like,
- 7:33cooked down.
- 7:33Dude, oh, my God.
- 7:35It was so good.
- 7:37I could have got real fat over there,
- 7:39like, big time.
- 7:41Walked out, like,
- 7:42I had to turn sideways to go out
- 7:44the door.
- 7:45I could have hurt myself over there.
- 7:47It was funny.
- 7:48I was talking to a coworker today and
- 7:50he was talking about when he was a
- 7:51kid,
- 7:52he wore the Husky jeans and I said,
- 7:56yeah, that was me.
- 7:56And then,
- 7:57then I became a competitive swimmer and I
- 7:59swam five hours a day and I got
- 8:01put in slim jeans.
- 8:04Then I stopped swimming and I went to
- 8:06big and tall.
- 8:09So the entire range.
- 8:10So I am not fat.
- 8:11I am just Darwinian.
- 8:12A hundred percent.
- 8:13It's evolution, baby.
- 8:14Yeah.
- 8:18I also had Husky jeans.
- 8:19I remember the first pair my mom ever
- 8:20bought me, and I was like, great,
- 8:22I'm Husky.
- 8:22I don't even know what that means,
- 8:24but it doesn't sound fantastic.
- 8:26Nobody ever wants to be Husky.
- 8:27Like, no.
- 8:28The only thing you've ever heard Husky in
- 8:31a positive term is if it's the dog
- 8:34or if it's some lady's voice.
- 8:35She had a Husky, sultry voice.
- 8:38Or it's a good Lowe's tool.
- 8:40Yeah,
- 8:41or it's a good tool made by Lowe's,
- 8:42a hundred percent.
- 8:44That's about the three things that...
- 8:47But dude, it was the seventies.
- 8:48They just called you what you were.
- 8:50A hundred percent as mid eight, eight,
- 8:52early to mid eighties, dog.
- 8:54He was husky.
- 8:54He was husky.
- 8:55And it wasn't a damn thing you could
- 8:56do about it.
- 8:56Going about your business.
- 9:00I remember husky jeans being a thing.
- 9:02Yep.
- 9:03A hundred percent.
- 9:04I had them.
- 9:05I'd go to Sears and Roebuck and get
- 9:06myself a pair of husky jeans.
- 9:12uh just for mirrors i had to wear
- 9:13husky jeans and cuff them hated those
- 9:16pants same dude same i will say my
- 9:22uh my mom sewed she still does like
- 9:24a lot she's really really good at it
- 9:26so she hemmed most of my jeans i
- 9:28didn't have to cuff them however in the
- 9:31eighties especially towards like the mid
- 9:33to late eighties it was the fashion at
- 9:35the time to tight roll them
- 9:38So it wasn't even cuffing them.
- 9:39Oh, yeah.
- 9:41I know you remember tight rolling jeans.
- 9:43Oh, dude.
- 9:44David Johnson, I'm sure,
- 9:45has tight rolled himself a pair of jeans.
- 9:47The bouncer days,
- 9:49it was all about the tight roll.
- 9:50A hundred percent, dude.
- 9:55Tell us we're old without saying we're
- 9:56old.
- 9:57Hey, bro.
- 9:59That's what this show is.
- 10:00Half of this show is about.
- 10:02Yeah.
- 10:03Being old.
- 10:04A hundred percent.
- 10:06Jabot Jeans.
- 10:07Damn, Mark Phillips.
- 10:09I ain't had Jabot Jeans money until I
- 10:11was a junior in high school.
- 10:14And then I had a pair.
- 10:17Yeah,
- 10:17you can tell who the people with money
- 10:20were.
- 10:21Mark Phillips, Vicky.
- 10:23With the guest jeans, same problem.
- 10:26I guess y'all probably had the three pair
- 10:28of Z Cavaricci, too.
- 10:30Yeah.
- 10:34All those three things go together for me.
- 10:36Like that was my entire high school was,
- 10:39or excuse me,
- 10:40what would have been junior high.
- 10:41They were limited to junior high before we
- 10:43started.
- 10:43But so like from eighth grade through,
- 10:46I don't know, probably sometime junior,
- 10:48senior year, it was Guess, Jabot,
- 10:51and then for a short time, Z Cavaricci,
- 10:54maybe overalls with one side undone.
- 11:00Yeah, I was, dude,
- 11:05are pictures i i hope have all been
- 11:07burned but i was i was like i
- 11:10was such a jackass in high school like
- 11:13the pleated pants with the the tight cuff
- 11:17and the suspenders with the pink pastel
- 11:20shirts wore a fedora sometimes just
- 11:23because of course you did because i was
- 11:26a complete jackass
- 11:30oh that's funny the hyper color shirt
- 11:34y'all remember that genera hyper color
- 11:36shirt change color whenever they get your
- 11:38body heat yeah that just naturally
- 11:42happened with sweat with me so it was
- 11:44the funniest thing dude once you washed
- 11:45them like three or four times i didn't
- 11:46do it anymore like whatever was in there
- 11:49just washed right out so they just had
- 11:51a shirt that was some kind of color
- 11:53you know real sure about it and it
- 11:54was like might have been pink might have
- 11:56been brown kind of really hard to tell
- 11:59Yeah.
- 12:00The only thing my mom wouldn't let me
- 12:02do is,
- 12:02you know how you'd put the polo shirt
- 12:04on top of the polo shirt so you
- 12:05had two colored collars?
- 12:07My mom was like, I am not.
- 12:09I'm not doing that much laundry.
- 12:12No.
- 12:12Get that shirt off.
- 12:14Go put one shirt on.
- 12:16We did not so much the two collars.
- 12:20There were some people doing that,
- 12:23but just a crisp white tee.
- 12:27under your polo shirt so that you could
- 12:29have like your little white line right
- 12:30here that was definitely a thing for a
- 12:33short time i just i just let the
- 12:36taco meat fly man i didn't have any
- 12:39taco meat i barely have chest hair today
- 12:41so okay yeah me too i'm just i
- 12:45was just joking but anyway um yeah the
- 12:50the original nanos the the reebok high
- 12:52tops with the skinny velcro straps
- 12:56That was more of a female thing.
- 12:58Yeah.
- 12:59Just saying.
- 13:01Reeboks with the straps, baby.
- 13:03Yeah.
- 13:06So speaking of leaderboards,
- 13:08not only is the Elite going live this
- 13:10afternoon.
- 13:11Yep.
- 13:12But the team leaderboard had a big shuffle
- 13:15over the weekend.
- 13:17Show did.
- 13:18Twenty-six penalties were handed out.
- 13:21You know what?
- 13:22Good.
- 13:22Good.
- 13:24Yeah, last year, none.
- 13:26Right.
- 13:26That's what I'm saying, dude.
- 13:28So either someone cared more this year or
- 13:33we got a whole lot of people getting
- 13:34bad at stuff.
- 13:37Or they actually looked at them this year.
- 13:39That's what I'm saying.
- 13:39Somebody cared.
- 13:40Somebody cared.
- 13:41All right,
- 13:41I guess we should actually look at these
- 13:43things and go ahead and check them out.
- 13:44Good, man.
- 13:45Good.
- 13:47Yeah.
- 13:47So here's the new team leaderboard as it
- 13:52stands right now.
- 13:57um sure there it is uh solidarity crossfit
- 14:02base camp is in first that's that's your
- 14:05homies right sure enough uh crossfit fort
- 14:08vancouver second blueprint crossfit team
- 14:12aod q-twin crossfit crossfit reykjavik
- 14:16crossfit reykjavik so nice you got to say
- 14:19the name twice twice
- 14:21uh crossfit eleven twenty four and ar one
- 14:25crossfit ar one team those are the seven
- 14:30teams going to the games i love it
- 14:36seven teams going from the games from the
- 14:37online qualifier correct yeah oh hannah
- 14:40texted us over the weekend and was like
- 14:41we're in first place she was all pumped
- 14:43up
- 14:44and just waiting to see um and that's
- 14:47we had a little discussion about that just
- 14:49a sheer number of penalties that got
- 14:51handed out it seemed like a lot two
- 14:54pretty big named affiliates in the eighth
- 14:56and ninth position with krypton and ttt
- 15:00not making the games who's on the krypton
- 15:02team i don't know man we talked about
- 15:09not knowing that the other day but
- 15:14No clue.
- 15:15No clue.
- 15:17I could go to the profile.
- 15:19What does that do?
- 15:25Nothing, apparently.
- 15:29All right.
- 15:29It's your anticlimactic moment of the
- 15:31morning.
- 15:33Oh, there we go.
- 15:36That's twenty five.
- 15:39They don't have anything.
- 15:43was just curious because i feel like ben
- 15:47smith's probably coaching that team all
- 15:53right there it is and i re-watched the
- 15:57uh uh documentary over the weekend because
- 16:00i had a whole lot else to do
- 16:00uh kate what's going on kate uh ttt
- 16:05caden stepped in online after bryce got
- 16:07hurt at syndicate the team has a ton
- 16:10of heart
- 16:15Caden will be a games athlete someday.
- 16:18Yeah, I think so.
- 16:22So, Caden, I did hit view profile,
- 16:25and it just sent me to their record
- 16:29over the years.
- 16:33Oh, there it is.
- 16:36Their script on Austin Spencer,
- 16:38Ava George, Caroline Spencer,
- 16:40and Keegan Alvis.
- 16:41Okay.
- 16:45Yeah, former games competitors there.
- 16:47Yeah, that's a legit team right there.
- 16:48And then with TTT.
- 16:53Who missed it?
- 16:55The thing is it zips down past everything.
- 17:00Bryce Broom, Faith Stewart, Caden Hogan,
- 17:03Nick Reed, Lisa Hemrick, and Kira Miller.
- 17:08I know Kira very well.
- 17:09I know Faith very well.
- 17:11I know Caden Hogan very well.
- 17:13Those are all great athletes.
- 17:15Beautiful.
- 17:18So anyway, I wasn't sharing that.
- 17:22But anyway, there that is.
- 17:24It's a Monday.
- 17:26And those can be excused.
- 17:28Things happen, folks.
- 17:30I do agree with you.
- 17:31I'm glad that we're seeing some penalties.
- 17:36That means...
- 17:38They're really looking at these things.
- 17:40And look,
- 17:40people are going to bitch about it one
- 17:42way or another.
- 17:42Oh, we got this bullshit penalty and blah,
- 17:45blah, whatever.
- 17:46But hey, man, at least they're looking.
- 17:50Yeah.
- 17:52Because clearly last year, they did not.
- 17:56I think what it is a true sign
- 17:59of is we could see a mess on
- 18:01the elite leaderboard later today.
- 18:04Well, later this week.
- 18:06I cannot wait.
- 18:09Something to talk about, man.
- 18:10Something to talk about.
- 18:12I cannot wait.
- 18:14Sammy came down,
- 18:16did hers over with Brandon over the
- 18:18weekend,
- 18:19left everything she had on the floor.
- 18:21So we are all curious to see where
- 18:24she shakes out as far as that kind
- 18:27of stuff goes.
- 18:29Last night, I proposed something that...
- 18:33I hate the fact that the most dramatic
- 18:36part of the season...
- 18:41is not seen happens at two p.m on
- 18:44a monday when the leaderboard goes live
- 18:47yeah well and you see none of it
- 18:49right unless right unless you're jacob
- 18:52marlow yeah who kudos to him dude that
- 18:55takes some giant brass cojones i don't
- 18:58know how he jumped over that box carrying
- 19:00those things every single time because
- 19:03he's just like yeah i'm just gonna do
- 19:04them all live who cares but what that
- 19:07does for your um
- 19:11for your personal gain is huge.
- 19:17Now, everybody knows who Jacob Marlowe is.
- 19:21And everybody's going to be rooting him
- 19:22on, right?
- 19:23Because he did that the one time.
- 19:25Just like Colton did it a few years
- 19:26ago and Hopper and Dallin.
- 19:30Why are they the most popular people in
- 19:32the sport?
- 19:32Because they gave of themselves at one
- 19:35point in time when it meant something.
- 19:39Put them out there and just, hey,
- 19:41this is what it's going to look like.
- 19:42I'm doing them live.
- 19:43You can beat it.
- 19:44Cool.
- 19:44If not, cool.
- 19:46Here we go.
- 19:47Three, two, one.
- 19:48Let's start.
- 19:49Right.
- 19:49But even more than just the competitive
- 19:51part of it,
- 19:53he is going to be much more marketable.
- 19:55Yeah.
- 19:55as humanizing them right it's not just a
- 19:58name you see on the leaderboard like oh
- 20:00yeah i saw that dude do that stuff
- 20:02live on on the crossfit network excuse me
- 20:05the cf network definitely doesn't stand
- 20:06for crossfit um you know with live
- 20:10commentary and like they did it all
- 20:12judging his movement quality looked
- 20:14outstanding the entire time and so forth
- 20:16and so on and
- 20:19Yeah.
- 20:19Now all of a sudden people,
- 20:20more people and as they should,
- 20:22because if you've ever met Jacob for five
- 20:24minutes, dude, that dude is awesome.
- 20:26Yeah.
- 20:26He's a solid human being.
- 20:28Um, and it, it,
- 20:32all this does is there's no downside.
- 20:36In my opinion,
- 20:36there's no downside whatsoever.
- 20:39You put yourself out there and you gave
- 20:40a, a fantastic effort.
- 20:41Every single time you sat there and you
- 20:44talked about it afterwards,
- 20:45like you just did a post game,
- 20:46a post race interview.
- 20:51I don't see any possible downside of doing
- 20:53it.
- 20:54If you're an up-and-coming athlete that is
- 20:58right on the cusp,
- 21:00there's no reason not to do these live
- 21:03somewhere and get your name out there and
- 21:07let people get to know who you are,
- 21:10make yourself more marketable.
- 21:11And dude,
- 21:11there's no limit of people in the space
- 21:15doing what we're doing right now who would
- 21:17happily broadcast it for you.
- 21:20Because Siobhan was like, yeah,
- 21:22absolutely.
- 21:22We'll come on.
- 21:23If anybody else wants to come on,
- 21:24we will broadcast theirs too.
- 21:25Because why wouldn't you?
- 21:29That's a symbiotic,
- 21:32like a good symbiotic relationship all the
- 21:33way around.
- 21:34And the devil's advocate is back,
- 21:40Jonathan Ortega.
- 21:42What if athletes don't want that?
- 21:44Well, then don't do it.
- 21:45It's real easy.
- 21:46Just don't.
- 21:48But...
- 21:50I mean,
- 21:50I've talked to enough athletes where
- 21:52they're struggling to support themselves
- 21:54through this.
- 21:55It's a way to make yourself marketable.
- 21:58And here's where I'm going with this.
- 22:00As I was listening to Chris Cooper this
- 22:02morning on the CF Network,
- 22:05and he was saying that the games don't
- 22:10impact affiliates anymore.
- 22:12Right.
- 22:14And that's because the games athletes have
- 22:17separated themselves from the affiliates.
- 22:21They are no longer a part of that
- 22:24group anymore.
- 22:28And because of that,
- 22:28they've separated themselves from the
- 22:30community, right?
- 22:33And I think that is part of the
- 22:35reason that less people show up than did
- 22:40before.
- 22:43If you have less of a stake in
- 22:44it, then why would you care to go?
- 22:47Right.
- 22:48There is no connect.
- 22:49There is no personal connection with, Hey,
- 22:52this person's from my gym or Hey,
- 22:54this whatever.
- 22:55Right.
- 22:57And so Chris Cooper was saying that when
- 23:01Bruce takes over the games, he's,
- 23:05he's in favor of getting rid of the
- 23:06games because CrossFit needs to grow the
- 23:09affiliates.
- 23:11Yeah.
- 23:12Not the games.
- 23:14And so
- 23:17I really thought about that.
- 23:18And there is such a lack of connection
- 23:22between the two now.
- 23:24And CrossFit did it to themselves too.
- 23:28By changing from a festival atmosphere in
- 23:32Wisconsin,
- 23:34from campgrounds and RV camps and tickets
- 23:39under a hundred dollars for the weekend to
- 23:41just go in,
- 23:42drink some FitAid or drink some beer and
- 23:45cheer people on.
- 23:47and making it an all arena,
- 23:49let's grow this thing big,
- 23:52you have really disconnected it from the
- 23:54affiliates.
- 23:56You remember the fittest crowd on earth
- 23:59tag?
- 24:00Yeah.
- 24:01That was fun, dude.
- 24:02Who wouldn't want to be a part of
- 24:04that?
- 24:04I am the fittest crowd on earth.
- 24:06Let's go.
- 24:07I mean, I was in Wisconsin,
- 24:08I was in Wisconsin,
- 24:16And you would walk down the paths and
- 24:21there are people upon people upon people.
- 24:25Right?
- 24:26Just hanging out, shooting the shit,
- 24:29talking about their Fran time,
- 24:31talking about their Murph time,
- 24:33doing all that stuff.
- 24:35And you all had one thing in common.
- 24:37You all did this hard thing.
- 24:40And we are turning it into an exclusive
- 24:43arena games.
- 24:51The minute they went to Fort Worth,
- 24:53and I know that there were conveniences to
- 24:56the setup of all that and all that
- 24:58stuff.
- 24:59The minute they went to Fort Worth,
- 25:02they were taking it out of the true
- 25:04fans' hands and trying to make it more
- 25:07of an exclusive attendee event.
- 25:10Yeah.
- 25:10I'd agree to that.
- 25:14I'd agree to that.
- 25:17You can't just walk up.
- 25:20And talk about ticket prices.
- 25:22Did you see they announced single day
- 25:24ticket prices or tickets are now on sale?
- 25:31They may be on sale,
- 25:32but they're still at a price that excludes
- 25:34a lot of people.
- 25:35I was hoping you saw that.
- 25:36Yeah.
- 25:38I think that was like ninety dollars.
- 25:41Like eighty nine bucks.
- 25:43Did I see that right?
- 25:44For one day.
- 25:45For one day.
- 25:50family of four that's four hundred bucks
- 25:52for a day yeah for a day uh
- 25:58david johnson i the masters games athletes
- 26:01are opposite of this completely but the
- 26:04reality is that the elites drive the sport
- 26:09and the masters and the teens go along
- 26:11for the ride
- 26:14If there was no elite CrossFit Games,
- 26:16you're not going to get a Masters CrossFit
- 26:18Games standalone.
- 26:20No.
- 26:20You have to pick your battles and call
- 26:24it, this is my CrossFit Games this year.
- 26:28Right.
- 26:29I mean,
- 26:29you may have a Legends Championship or you
- 26:31may have an MFC, something like that.
- 26:35But without the elite CrossFit Games,
- 26:38you're not.
- 26:38No.
- 26:41And I'm okay with that.
- 26:43The reality is what the reality is.
- 26:44There's nothing you can do about it.
- 26:46That is what our reality is.
- 26:48We are still tied to that because there's
- 26:49not enough people wanting to come see.
- 26:53Quite frankly, and yes,
- 26:56the stuff the elites do, most of us,
- 27:00we can do something similar.
- 27:02Degree, not kind.
- 27:03But watching a seven-year-old woman do
- 27:05ring muscle-ups is crazy.
- 27:08it's it's insane it is an insane thing
- 27:10to see it is like going to the
- 27:12circus and seeing people do like flips and
- 27:15twists and stuff you've never seen or
- 27:17thought were capable that kind of stuff
- 27:19needs to be broadcast so that people the
- 27:21regular public can see hey this is this
- 27:24can be your reality or something similar
- 27:27to it anyway you don't have to do
- 27:30a ring muscle up at seventy years old
- 27:32but you could have the capacity to or
- 27:35the capacity to do something similar
- 27:38That commercial that plays every Christmas
- 27:40with the old man with the kettlebell who
- 27:43was just getting ready so he can pick
- 27:45his grandkid up.
- 27:47That gets me in my feelings every single
- 27:49time because aside from the competitive
- 27:52part of it right now,
- 27:53but when I'm done competing,
- 27:54I'm not going to be done working out
- 27:57because I want to be able to do
- 27:58those things.
- 28:02Period.
- 28:03I want to be able to still get
- 28:04up and go run around and chase my
- 28:06grandchildren or my great-grandchildren,
- 28:08play tag with them out in the yard,
- 28:10whatever the case may be.
- 28:11And if I have it in me to
- 28:14stop competing,
- 28:15I'm still going to be doing all the
- 28:17things I want to do because,
- 28:18first of all, I think it's cool.
- 28:20Secondly,
- 28:21because I want to live the fullest life
- 28:23I can for the absolute longest that I
- 28:24can.
- 28:27So Kate says, wait,
- 28:27you're saying us middle-aged slightly
- 28:29above average fitness, exercising,
- 28:30racing enthusiasts.
- 28:32Don't drive the big crowds.
- 28:33Rude.
- 28:35I'm sorry, Kate.
- 28:36I I'm sorry.
- 28:37Kate is a little bit more than slightly
- 28:40above average.
- 28:46Watching her go in person.
- 28:50Wait, wait.
- 28:52There's something I I'm now I'm missing
- 28:54it.
- 29:00So let's start here.
- 29:01How it comes off to me the athletes
- 29:02can't be bothered with what goes on in
- 29:04affiliates.
- 29:05This is a generalization, of course.
- 29:07But I also think, Daniel,
- 29:09that because of the demands of a
- 29:11competitive athlete,
- 29:13some of the affiliates don't want them
- 29:14there anymore.
- 29:16Yeah.
- 29:17So that road goes both ways.
- 29:19The other thing I'll tell you,
- 29:21in my opinion, again,
- 29:23all of this is my opinion.
- 29:25Wait, is it a bad joke?
- 29:26Yeah.
- 29:27Is that the more that the athletes left
- 29:31the affiliates,
- 29:32the less the general fitness enthusiasts
- 29:37who were doing the open felt connected to
- 29:39them.
- 29:40Sure.
- 29:43the elite athletes are like I just got
- 29:45to get through it I just got to
- 29:46finish top twenty five percent I just so
- 29:49I just gotta go through the motions there
- 29:52was a time where we all died during
- 29:54the open yeah dude I mean you know
- 29:59if there is a legitimate games athlete who
- 30:02is taking class at five thirty
- 30:06And you're seeing the stuff that they're
- 30:07doing and watching the stuff they're
- 30:09doing.
- 30:09And as they continue on to their journey,
- 30:11you're going to be a little bit more
- 30:12invested than if you're just in there with
- 30:14Sally and Bob.
- 30:18I would be anyway.
- 30:20So can't go to a movie for less
- 30:22than twenty five bucks.
- 30:22It seems now three hundred dollars to go
- 30:24watch a famous comedian or go to a
- 30:26concert.
- 30:26Everything is expensive.
- 30:28I understand that everything is expensive.
- 30:31But what a famous comedian does,
- 30:34he doesn't have half the arena with empty
- 30:36seats.
- 30:37No.
- 30:38They sell out those three hundred dollar
- 30:39tickets.
- 30:40Right.
- 30:42CrossFit can't sell the seats they have.
- 30:46Yet in the last three years,
- 30:49they've gone from a big from an arena.
- 30:52Madison,
- 30:54each arena got bigger and bigger over the
- 30:56last few years,
- 30:57and the seats got more scarce and more
- 30:59scarce being filled.
- 31:04And people do it.
- 31:07People wait right now because they know
- 31:12that tickets are going to go down in
- 31:14price the closer you get to the games
- 31:15because they can't sell them out.
- 31:18And because...
- 31:20Because Daniel Arnson is smart.
- 31:24The fan base is not there.
- 31:25They need to give up the professionalize
- 31:27it campaign.
- 31:28Just call it what it is.
- 31:30They're money hungry.
- 31:30I don't want to call them money hungry.
- 31:32A lot of these athletes are doing it.
- 31:34A lot of these athletes could have chosen
- 31:37to go to the WFP where they would
- 31:39make more money.
- 31:40Correct.
- 31:41Unless they win the games.
- 31:44And they chose the glory of going to
- 31:46the CrossFit Games over the WFP.
- 31:50Over the guaranteed paycheck.
- 31:53So they're not all money hungry.
- 31:56It's just the perception that the CrossFit
- 32:02Games was and should have remained a
- 32:06festival.
- 32:07a celebration of fitness where you had a
- 32:11group of people come in at the highest
- 32:13level,
- 32:14show us what was truly humanly possible.
- 32:20It's not a sport.
- 32:21It's not a sport in the sense of
- 32:25the NFL or the NBA or those places
- 32:28that sell out tickets to every,
- 32:31no matter where they go.
- 32:32We don't even have a clearly defined
- 32:34season every year.
- 32:38Name me two years where the season has
- 32:40been the exact same from start to finish.
- 32:43I'll wait.
- 32:46Daniel Arnson, nine ninety nine.
- 32:47Thank you so much for that.
- 32:49I remember I'm smart.
- 32:50It'd be easier just to have me on
- 32:51sometime.
- 32:52I'm kidding.
- 32:53But yeah,
- 32:53affiliate members now do not like having
- 32:56elite games athletes there most of the
- 32:57time.
- 33:02That's a fact.
- 33:03And to be fair,
- 33:05that member is paying one hundred and
- 33:07fifty dollars a month to two hundred
- 33:09dollars a month, maybe more.
- 33:12They don't want their time taken away.
- 33:14No.
- 33:17And they don't want the distraction that
- 33:19some of those dudes are.
- 33:21Like I am not a games athlete.
- 33:24I do do two just,
- 33:25or starting back today anyway,
- 33:27with two sessions a day.
- 33:28And I do my best to be as
- 33:31unnoticeable as possible because I don't
- 33:32want to distract people from doing class
- 33:34from like,
- 33:34what is Corey doing over there in the
- 33:36corner?
- 33:36Right.
- 33:38We have a whole other side and I
- 33:40use that as much as humanly possible so
- 33:43that I'm not making basically a spectacle
- 33:45of myself doing something that completely
- 33:47different than what everybody else is
- 33:48doing.
- 33:50And games athletes are going to be in
- 33:52there.
- 33:52And if you're in there for, you know,
- 33:54four, six hours a day,
- 33:55sometimes if you're there during class
- 33:58time and you're not actually doing class,
- 34:00then I'm not saying that they are,
- 34:02but you can be a distraction to whatever
- 34:05else is going on.
- 34:05Yeah.
- 34:10Well, and I love that.
- 34:13Is it.
- 34:16There was an athlete that said they,
- 34:18they do the class workout every day.
- 34:20Oh, Reese Littlewood.
- 34:21Reese Littlewood.
- 34:22Reese Littlewood does the class workout
- 34:24every day and then other stuff.
- 34:26Yep.
- 34:29There are some crazy, crazy,
- 34:32very strong affiliate members in the elite
- 34:36athlete area,
- 34:37but they are getting fewer and far
- 34:39between.
- 34:41I mean,
- 34:41Carolyn goes to an affiliate every day.
- 34:46She runs an affiliate out of her high
- 34:47school.
- 34:49which is awesome by the way.
- 34:51Right.
- 34:52So like there are athletes that do those
- 34:55things, but it is getting less and less.
- 34:57And I do think you could bring back
- 34:59that festival feel just it, but it,
- 35:03it's almost gotta be the teams that bring
- 35:05it back.
- 35:07The teams have to get back to being
- 35:10an affiliate team.
- 35:13Good luck with that.
- 35:15That is a very hard, what is it,
- 35:19two paces out of the tube on that
- 35:20one?
- 35:20That's very,
- 35:21very hard to get that reign back in.
- 35:24But that's why you had the big crowds
- 35:25back in the day.
- 35:26I'm not arguing with you.
- 35:29And the festival feel comes back at the
- 35:32games if you have a place like a
- 35:34cheap campground for people just to pitch
- 35:36a tent.
- 35:37Because you went down to that campground
- 35:40area and people were fitnessing.
- 35:43The people brought rowers and bikes and
- 35:47barbells and weights.
- 35:49You go down to the campground,
- 35:50they're doing full workouts in the middle
- 35:52of the campground.
- 35:54They're not relying on activations put on
- 35:56by CrossFit or put on by whatever sponsor
- 35:58is there or whoever's in there.
- 36:01They just take it upon themselves.
- 36:03They do what CrossFitters do.
- 36:04I'm going to work out.
- 36:06You ain't got to worry about that, dog.
- 36:07One may have one year sponsored the whole
- 36:09campground and brought equipment for them.
- 36:12Yep.
- 36:15Like that's the thought process that needs
- 36:18to start happening more and more.
- 36:20Mayhem gets it.
- 36:21Mayhem reaches out to Rich does the bus,
- 36:25the van tour to different affiliates and
- 36:27drops in.
- 36:28Right.
- 36:29Every time they go somewhere,
- 36:31every time they go somewhere,
- 36:32he says he tries to,
- 36:33they find a Mayhem affiliate close to
- 36:36wherever they're staying and he tries to
- 36:37go drop in.
- 36:40I can't imagine dude,
- 36:41like being a Mayhem affiliate.
- 36:42Cause I don't think he tells them most
- 36:43of the time they just show up.
- 36:45like you can roll up to four thirty
- 36:46class and is that rich froning yeah it
- 36:51is um um anyway there's the chats are
- 37:02getting you guys have a lot to say
- 37:04and i can't read that fast because
- 37:05remember i don't read anymore i've given
- 37:08up books
- 37:13um so anyway there's all that um i
- 37:17hope they can figure something out they've
- 37:19got to go back to a festival feel
- 37:22i know that they had to build the
- 37:24outdoor thing in madison so maybe that's
- 37:26not ideal to go back to but they've
- 37:30got to figure out a way they've got
- 37:32to figure out a way to have a
- 37:32campground
- 37:34They've got to figure out a way to
- 37:35have cheap festival tickets.
- 37:39You may not get into the arena for
- 37:40the nighttime events,
- 37:41but you can go hang out with your
- 37:43friends.
- 37:46Beer Gordon, big screen, sit out there,
- 37:50have a couple of drinks,
- 37:51watch a couple of events,
- 37:52hit up the vendor village,
- 37:55go back to wherever you were.
- 37:56You're also going to need,
- 37:58and I'm going to say need,
- 37:59but
- 38:01The outside sections where people can,
- 38:04you can roam around and that's what
- 38:06you're, you know, that's what your,
- 38:08your discounted price,
- 38:10whatever you want to call it,
- 38:11festival ticket will get you access to.
- 38:13So you can see those events at the
- 38:14very least.
- 38:15You might never go get sit inside with
- 38:16the air condition and the big screen and
- 38:19all the, you know,
- 38:20whatever kind of hoorah they got going on
- 38:22on the inside.
- 38:23But at least you can come outside and
- 38:24watch people do stuff, you know,
- 38:25the fitness and on the rig and whatnot
- 38:27outside.
- 38:27Like, I think that would be good stuff.
- 38:31And I think like the discussion today with
- 38:33Chris Cooper was like the places like
- 38:37NorCal have it.
- 38:40They're the ones getting the thousands of
- 38:42people at an event because it is a
- 38:44community event.
- 38:46And the athletes get to compete on the
- 38:48same rig as Tudor Magda, as whatever,
- 38:53right?
- 38:54And so it's a closer connection than we
- 38:58have at a semifinal event when they're
- 39:01down on this big floor and the closest
- 39:04you can get is the stands or bumping
- 39:06to them in Vendor Village maybe.
- 39:09Yeah.
- 39:12I just keep going back to like,
- 39:14I had that picture burning in my brain
- 39:17from, I forget which documentary it was,
- 39:19but the chick who was there in line
- 39:23and the men are lining up and she's
- 39:25freaking out because Matt Fraser's like
- 39:28right there in front of her.
- 39:29And she's like, she's on her phone.
- 39:30That's my Fraser.
- 39:33You're not going to get that if
- 39:34everybody's just hidden away inside the
- 39:37warmup area until they get called to the
- 39:39corral for the event because they're all
- 39:42inside.
- 39:43That kind of moment's not going to happen
- 39:45again.
- 39:50That's what made the showcase events at
- 39:51Syndicate fun.
- 39:53Yeah.
- 39:56I don't think that's true at all unless
- 39:59they just don't follow the sport.
- 40:00In that case, of course, that's true.
- 40:03If they follow the sport,
- 40:04then I think they do care and are
- 40:05interested.
- 40:07But David,
- 40:08we have to admit that less and less
- 40:11people are following the sport.
- 40:15The numbers don't lie.
- 40:17We are not selling the same number of
- 40:19seats or the same number of tickets that
- 40:21we used to sell.
- 40:24What do I mean?
- 40:27So not even proportionally, right?
- 40:31Not even like percentage wise.
- 40:35Right.
- 40:36It's just not.
- 40:39It's not there.
- 40:41Yeah.
- 40:42I will say this, Daniel, to that.
- 40:44He's saying none of his gym members have
- 40:46any clue,
- 40:47have any clue what the games are.
- 40:49It's about a probably about a fifty fifty
- 40:51split at my gym.
- 40:53and most of the places I've been to,
- 40:55like there's,
- 40:56there's the ones that have absolutely no
- 40:58idea whatsoever.
- 41:00There's the ones who are,
- 41:02I don't say invested,
- 41:03but like have their favorites know who
- 41:05they, you know,
- 41:05who they follow and stuff like that.
- 41:08Um,
- 41:08those people tend to be the competitors in
- 41:10the group, right?
- 41:12The people who sign up for local comps,
- 41:14definitely going to sign up for the open
- 41:15every year and stuff like that.
- 41:16And then you've got the people who, uh,
- 41:20who are kind of like yeah i know
- 41:21what the games are blah blah whatever but
- 41:23wouldn't be would be nonplussed if you
- 41:26know somebody crossfit famous walked into
- 41:30the gym to come work out they'd just
- 41:31be like oh yeah who's that guy oh
- 41:33rich cool whatever moving right along uh
- 41:37we have we have we have bet we
- 41:39have both uh jason bourne in his covert
- 41:43operations has heard that there's only
- 41:46eight vendors that currently at the
- 41:47crossfit games
- 41:51That is a sad state of affairs.
- 41:54That's kind of crazy.
- 41:55I know Travis isn't going.
- 41:59Hexy Lover.
- 42:00I nominate Clydesdale Cowboys CrossFit
- 42:02Campground Committee.
- 42:03Bonfires, live music, big screens.
- 42:07And gumbo.
- 42:09Yeah,
- 42:10I can make a big-ass pot of gumbo.
- 42:13I'll serve a whole lot of people.
- 42:16Live music,
- 42:16we'd have to get the Clydesdale singers
- 42:18out there.
- 42:20Yep.
- 42:21Sure.
- 42:21That'd be that'd be pretty,
- 42:25pretty expensive.
- 42:26Just saying.
- 42:34I do think that, you know,
- 42:35there's talk about like no CrossFit media.
- 42:38I do think there are media and I
- 42:39think they are putting out decent content.
- 42:42I don't think it's being pinpointed in the
- 42:46right direction.
- 42:47No.
- 42:49We talked about that last week.
- 42:52I think that's, I think that's it.
- 42:53I think it needs to take a step
- 42:55back, a refocus and,
- 42:58and do things that matter.
- 43:03I would say sad, but true,
- 43:04but it's not sad.
- 43:05It's just true.
- 43:06Like more stuff that actually matters now
- 43:10that the games don't matter because they
- 43:11matter to people,
- 43:13but stuff that actually matters is what's
- 43:15going on inside of real affiliates day to
- 43:18day stuff.
- 43:20So this doesn't seem like much to out
- 43:23to, you know, some people,
- 43:24but it means a whole lot to others.
- 43:28There's one thing that will turn off
- 43:30CrossFitters faster than anything,
- 43:33and that is being inauthentic.
- 43:35Correct.
- 43:37So if you're having actors in your media,
- 43:41immediately you've lost half the
- 43:44CrossFitters.
- 43:45The more AI gets used,
- 43:47the more people want reality.
- 43:51There are so many real stories in
- 43:53CrossFit.
- 43:54that sell better than any fiction you can
- 43:58make up.
- 44:02They're out there.
- 44:03You just need someone to curate them.
- 44:07There's a lot of them.
- 44:11There's so many good stories.
- 44:12You know what is a really good story?
- 44:15Is last night I was whooped.
- 44:18And I chugged a thirdsy after last night's
- 44:20show.
- 44:21I don't think my head hit the pillow
- 44:24longer than about thirty seconds and I was
- 44:28gone.
- 44:29Oh, cool, baby.
- 44:31And I woke up this morning feeling
- 44:32refreshed and energized for the day.
- 44:36Didn't even need a cup of coffee first
- 44:38thing.
- 44:39whoa settle down i know i know last
- 44:43night i'm just telling you and it can
- 44:45work for you with promo code jazzy at
- 44:48checkout get you fifteen percent off
- 44:50that's thirdsy.com backslash jazzy fifteen
- 44:53percent off i want to say this too
- 44:59i know that hillar takes a lot of
- 45:00guff i know that hillar gets a lot
- 45:02of praise
- 45:04but for the first time in a very
- 45:06long time this weekend i got up wanting
- 45:10to see the next episode of his behind
- 45:13the scenes with alex fee josh and genie
- 45:17is it out because i haven't sunday i
- 45:21got up couldn't find it thought what the
- 45:24hell happened to hillary where we go right
- 45:28and then he put out that dallin versus
- 45:30rich dallin at twenty versus rich in
- 45:33twenty fourteen
- 45:34Well, that's not what I was looking for.
- 45:36But that'll work.
- 45:38I'll watch it.
- 45:40And then this morning,
- 45:42episode three popped up.
- 45:43Okay.
- 45:43It's like Christmas morning all over for
- 45:46me.
- 45:46I'm going to have to check that out
- 45:47during lunch.
- 45:50I have not been that excited about media
- 45:52content.
- 45:55What he got out of those girls and
- 45:58Josh, the rattlesnake story,
- 46:01there's a jump rope story in today's
- 46:02Josh's thing.
- 46:06What he got out of them, poop stories,
- 46:10smoke stories, all that stuff.
- 46:13I just wanted more and more and more.
- 46:15Just real stuff.
- 46:18Yeah.
- 46:19That's all it is.
- 46:20That's all it amounts to is that it
- 46:21is real stuff.
- 46:24And just getting them to tell it in
- 46:26their own words, I mean,
- 46:28that's a huge win in and of itself.
- 46:31Do you remember when Siobhan was doing
- 46:32behind the scenes back in the day and
- 46:34you would like,
- 46:36could not wait for the next episode?
- 46:38That's how I felt this weekend.
- 46:41I watched Ince and Josh yesterday,
- 46:48as a matter of fact.
- 46:50Again, for the eight billionth time,
- 46:53watched her yell at Morrison.
- 46:55Just breaks my heart every single time.
- 46:59Amanda will also props to those athletes
- 47:01for being real, real people as well.
- 47:05Yeah.
- 47:05Taylor has a way of getting.
- 47:09They're comfortable.
- 47:10People are comfortable around it.
- 47:12Right.
- 47:12They can say what they want to about
- 47:14his online presence when he comes out and
- 47:16he's calling people out for bad reps and
- 47:18whatnot,
- 47:18but clearly he gets with these people and
- 47:23they are comfortable enough to tell
- 47:25stories about pooping themselves three
- 47:27times during a workout.
- 47:31How many other people are getting people
- 47:33to say stuff like that?
- 47:36In a mini.
- 47:39George Wang says,
- 47:39don't know why CrossFit needs to invest in
- 47:41media.
- 47:41They just need to let third parties do
- 47:43it for them.
- 47:44Here's the problem.
- 47:45Third party media has no focus.
- 47:48No.
- 47:49It's whatever they want to focus on.
- 47:51And the games aren't selling people to the
- 47:54affiliates.
- 47:56And the fun part of doing this is
- 47:58talking about the games.
- 48:00Yeah.
- 48:02right so they need a focus on the
- 48:06affiliates and bringing people to the
- 48:09affiliates that's that's why crossfit
- 48:14needs a media team they don't need another
- 48:18buttery bros or coming back with more
- 48:21games content that's covered
- 48:25They need the stories from the affiliates.
- 48:30If nothing else,
- 48:31they could pull back from their game's
- 48:33coverage, the CrossFit media team,
- 48:36because clearly that's being handled.
- 48:40Between Hiller, Savan, us, whoever else.
- 48:44Those stories are getting told.
- 48:47well and we've talked about it already you
- 48:49know the boys interrupted did their own
- 48:52quarterfinals piece then CrossFit came in
- 48:55behind and did the same thing you know
- 48:59Hiller did a Syndicate behind the scenes
- 49:01and Ian was at the Syndicate are we
- 49:03going to get a second Syndicate run it's
- 49:07that Spider-Man meme where the three
- 49:08different Spider-Man are pointing at each
- 49:10other
- 49:10We're duplicating what's been done by
- 49:14third party.
- 49:15And it's not what,
- 49:17to grow this whole thing,
- 49:19the affiliates have to get bigger again.
- 49:23That's what needs to happen.
- 49:28In theory,
- 49:29CrossFit could license pay Hiller,
- 49:30et cetera,
- 49:30for footage already made and then just
- 49:32reformat it.
- 49:34I don't think Hiller lets that happen.
- 49:36That'd be like Led Zeppelin giving away
- 49:38their master tapes.
- 49:39Well, and here's the problem with it.
- 49:41If they reformat it and re-edit it in
- 49:44a way that he does not like,
- 49:46then that's not going to end well because
- 49:49it'll happen once and he'll never let it
- 49:51happen again.
- 49:53The dude is nothing else if not
- 49:54principled.
- 49:56I mean,
- 49:56I've heard stories of Jimmy Page not
- 49:58giving up Led Zeppelin master tapes
- 50:00because he doesn't want to see one of
- 50:03their songs show up in a Chevy commercial.
- 50:05Correct.
- 50:06Correct.
- 50:10Kate agreed not needing CrossFit media to
- 50:13regulate games-related coverage months
- 50:16after we've already seen it from a
- 50:18third-party media.
- 50:18Exactly.
- 50:21That's the other problem, dude.
- 50:22It's like,
- 50:23Hiller's video after Syndicate was out,
- 50:25what, two days later?
- 50:29Yeah.
- 50:30Or the day after or something like that?
- 50:31The day after.
- 50:33Where's CrossFit's?
- 50:35Like I said, we know Ian was there.
- 50:38So they got footage,
- 50:40and they got interviews,
- 50:41and they got all the things,
- 50:42and it's still being – that's nothing
- 50:44against them.
- 50:44Their timeline is just different.
- 50:47David Reed.
- 50:49David Reed.
- 50:49I did not say Hiller was Led Zeppelin.
- 50:53I said he treats his art like Led
- 50:55Zeppelin.
- 50:56Yeah.
- 51:00Hiller gets paid –
- 51:02He's a professional YouTuber.
- 51:03He said it a million times.
- 51:05So the faster he can put out good
- 51:07content,
- 51:08the faster those YouTube checks are going
- 51:10to come in.
- 51:11So he's going to get his stuff together
- 51:13and drink Seventeen Gorilla Minds and be
- 51:17up for thirty seven hours at a time.
- 51:19editing, making sure it's right,
- 51:21making sure he's got the right music,
- 51:23all the things that he wants to do
- 51:24to make it perfect.
- 51:25And then boom, it's out.
- 51:27It's up.
- 51:28So he can start getting views and start
- 51:29getting clicks and he can start getting,
- 51:31I mean,
- 51:31the man's got a mortgage to pay.
- 51:33I mean, come on.
- 51:36And to be honest,
- 51:36I did that a couple times where I
- 51:38would do the Jamie documentary.
- 51:41I did the night I filmed it.
- 51:44I edited it that night.
- 51:47When it's all fresh in your head,
- 51:48it's a lot easier to edit.
- 51:50So much easier to edit.
- 51:52Now,
- 51:52you're going to stay up late getting it
- 51:55done,
- 51:56and then you're going to be back at
- 51:57it the next day,
- 51:58and you need seventeen gorilla minds to do
- 52:00that.
- 52:01Or thirdsie before you go to bed so
- 52:04you wake up refreshed.
- 52:06a combination of the two yeah but it
- 52:11is it's a lot of it's a lot
- 52:14of work but CrossFit everything has to go
- 52:17through a committee to be approved I think
- 52:19and because of that stuff probably gets
- 52:22hacked it shouldn't get hacked things get
- 52:24decided on that shouldn't be decided on
- 52:27and then you just get fluff stuff
- 52:31That's why when Sebon was media,
- 52:36like that was a rap, he said himself,
- 52:38people would just go and do stuff.
- 52:41They didn't make videos and it was all
- 52:42good and we all got put out.
- 52:44Even the stuff that wasn't very good was
- 52:46still good and it was still getting put
- 52:48out.
- 52:48And now you go from that to what
- 52:51they got now, like you said, it's like,
- 52:53here,
- 52:53give this to whoever needs to see it
- 52:55so they can give it to whoever needs
- 52:56to see it so they can give it
- 52:57to whoever needs to see it so that
- 52:58that person can say something and then
- 53:00come back and tell this person something.
- 53:01And that just takes time.
- 53:04It's time consuming.
- 53:06Chris Cooper said it really eloquently
- 53:08today that when you have that many people
- 53:11in an executive level,
- 53:12they all feel they have to give their
- 53:14input to show their own value.
- 53:16Their value.
- 53:17Yep.
- 53:18And all that does is stunt creativity and
- 53:25make you lose the good creators you have.
- 53:28Yep.
- 53:31And Daniel says,
- 53:32could be one of those silly things that
- 53:33we see go away in the fall.
- 53:35And that is what I am hoping for.
- 53:39I hope so.
- 53:41With that, man,
- 53:42didn't even get into like our weekend or
- 53:44anything like that.
- 53:45That went nothing on my rundown is what
- 53:48we talked about today.
- 53:51My job here is done with that guys.
- 53:56I have got to get back to work.
- 53:58You knuckleheads need to get back to work
- 54:00as well.
- 54:01And we'll be back tomorrow with the
- 54:03Clydesdale and the cowboy.
- 54:06Right?
- 54:07Yeah.
- 54:08Cowboy.
- 54:09Okay.
- 54:10I may even be on wait to get
- 54:12to the editing room to jazz me up.
- 54:14I'm already jazzy.
- 54:26Lunch with the Clydesdale Cowboy in the
- 54:27saddle.
- 54:28Lunch with the Clydesdale Cowboy in the
- 54:29saddle.
- 54:30Talking to reps,
- 54:31real life strength in the battle.
- 54:34From the gym to the screen, yeah,
- 54:36we cover it all.
- 54:39Midday motivation every time we press
- 54:41call.
- 54:43Lunch with the Clydesdale Cowboy in the
- 54:45heat.
- 54:45Crossfit, movies, music on repeat.
- 54:48Half hour hustle, yeah,
- 54:49we building that brand.
- 54:50Grab a plate,
