- 0:36[SPEAKER_02]: Welcome in, and I have to say, holy cow, that beard.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_02]: I can't even, that's a,
- 0:43[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I don't even know what to say.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_02]: Old man was an old man wicker.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_02]: Who's the one who van winkle?
- 0:49[SPEAKER_02]: The one who falls asleep on the underneath the tree and wakes up with a huge beard years later.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_01]: Wait, it's cool.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, I got to say my wife's been gone here for quite a while so I haven't trimmed it up or anything like that and it's it's been glorious I do have to say this is like the fullest beard I've ever had and I've been taken care of it I've been putting in some of the hair beard chemicals that are supposed to help it and make it really smooth and shiny and It's magnificent.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_01]: I've had a few people like do a double take after stare at it.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_01]: So
- 1:24[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_02]: I want to touch it.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_02]: You're beard.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_02]: It's my god.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_02]: I've had dreams of maybe you come out and do an hike with me now, but now I'd be ashamed for my facial hair.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_02]: If you were like, oh, this guy's obviously an out in man who's this, you know, he's bringing it out the novice.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_02]: Finn-haired of weak bearded.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_02]: the boy next to Carl, yeah, and that's quite the beard.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_02]: Everyone, uh, f in the chat, uh, respect to Carl's beard.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_02]: Let's say everybody coming in here.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_02]: We got the new Mexico man coming in and you're says, hey, guys, hope, oh, hey, guys, I hope all is well.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_02]: Good to see you.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_02]: We're doing okay.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's just working our butts off, but, uh, you know, that's, that's life.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_02]: That's, uh, this phase of life.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_02]: So that's how it is.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, pop a bear, David Neckle Rath coming in here.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_02]: $2.00 a.d.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_02]: Remember, as well, my Ohio members has good evening, Broncos Country, let's go, Bo.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_02]: Good to see you.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_02]: Pop a bear hope you're doing a hope you're staying healthy.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_02]: And hope you are enjoying the weather and spring right around the corner in the off season, as well, hope you're spring's eternal in the off season.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_02]: Chase Wellner, go Carl and Nick, go Chase.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_02]: Man, one of the OG OGs, you're not allowed to change your picture, though, Chase.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_02]: I'll have to, like, really upset if you do that.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_02]: You've had that for, like,
- 2:37[SPEAKER_02]: five, six years on here.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_02]: Jason O'Neill, good to see you.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_02]: This is a good evening Nick Carl Broncos country.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_02]: Well, well, well, thanks for finally starting to happen.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_02]: Time to find out what the Broncos will do.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_02]: Let's fill needs and free agency for clarity in the draft.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, kind of Carl, when you've done this as long as we have, obviously, like last year.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_02]: We didn't nail the exact players.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_02]: The Broncos would go after not granted, you know.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_02]: We always say 25% of the top guys are signed before they even hit free agency.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_02]: So like, we really like exact bond or sure would or Nick Bolton, boom, boom, boom.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_02]: Off the market, like never even a chance.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_02]: But have fun, go.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_02]: We knew they were interested in the safety.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_02]: didn't think Hathanga specifically, and boy, he was awesome of what we knew running back linebacker and tight end.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_02]: And here we are again.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_02]: Same needs different year.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_02]: I will say, though, if there's any positions where you want needs, it's probably those three maybe toss in safety as well.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_01]: I had someone to make that comment of, oh, here we are, right back where we were last year.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_01]: We haven't even been improved the team.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, no, they improved, big time.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_01]: When you can go 14 and 3, it means some things worked out really well for you.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_01]: It means probably some of your draft picks.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe weren't super stars, but at least we're hits.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, how could you not feel good about Pat Bryant, RG Harvey, like as a holistic piece in the backfield and Q Robinson.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_02]: Look pretty darn good, jury so out on CV on Jones.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_02]: And of course, Baron, as well, because the ROI on a first shot pick, but like, right, I don't know one year with the talent that roster, I don't feel bad about the class by any means.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and then you got crush off as your punter.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_01]: It looks like he's gonna be the long term solution there for you.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_01]: So you feel good about that.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_01]: You feel good about the second year guys that came in and I think did pretty well for us.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_01]: Again, not any superstars per se.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_01]: But I think the Broncos, you got your superstars figured out.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Garrett Bowles at left tackle, being maybe the best left tackle in football, Patrick Surtay, and of course, Nick Bonito's up there.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_01]: Quinn Miners.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_01]: Quinn Miners, Zach Allen, I mean, those are your superstars.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_01]: And so you were needing a lot more of just the role player kind of guys, I mean, they're not roles, they're starters, but guys that can go out there and they're not gonna cost you the game.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_01]: and they found those and so the Broncos are right there right on the edge and maybe just a few players from getting over the top and and being right there with Seattle as maybe top two or three team in football.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, you feel good about the Broncos.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_01]: Unfortunately, yes, the needs are still the same.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_01]: Unfortunately, the Evan Ingram was not a good signing.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see what they do to kind of correct
- 5:33[SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of weird, he was a good signing.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_02]: Compared to contract when you got him, that was, he's gonna get a bigger contract than he got last off season.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_02]: Because the ROI this season was more than what you've made.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, pop.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_01]: And so the running game was working for half the season, which is great to see.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_01]: So they're not too far off and woof, coming in.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_01]: We got to talk about the good coming in here, Shannon Mills saying, good evening, Nick Carl and Broncos country with the 99, 99 super chat.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you so much to their Shannon.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_01]: That is great to see.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_01]: say this every time.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_01]: I wish that was not chiefs read.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_01]: That's the only thing that's against that that one right there.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_01]: But but maybe that's just the us mocking them a little bit of them finish and third in the division here.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_01]: But thank you so much Shannon.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate that so much and and just great start the day here.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, thank you so much, Shannon.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, God bless you.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_02]: I'm coming in supporting the show.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_02]: I know financial times are rough for a lot of people, but man, we really really do appreciate that.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_02]: And obviously, you're just coming in and saying hi.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_02]: But if you have anything else, you want to come say on here.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_02]: You are obviously welcome.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, chat, reacting, Shannon, wow.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_02]: Michael says, Princess, I'm out high-uddle, podcast, Shannon Mills, absolutely.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_02]: Darren Browns in house is let's go about it as well.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_02]: And then Jordan comes in and says, hey, Shannon.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_02]: appreciate your shame and so much of that is that's incredible.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_02]: Hope you're doing well.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_02]: I want to say a little bit more folks coming in here as we said Jordan Lois there.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_02]: Good to see it.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_02]: We're doing busy but we're well.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_02]: I mean gosh again some more comments in the chat for Carl's beard for sure.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_02]: Good to see ya.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_02]: He says Jason Arneel also says hypothetically if the Broncos Phil key roles in free agency with it possibly trade out a 30-to-a-quire draft picks and more depth, depth it offensive line especially.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_02]: It's hard for Denver because I feel like they don't have, they're not a team that has like a lot of roster spots per se.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_02]: Now obviously if you trade down and you can get really good ROI, maybe you flip those then for veterans or, you know, as I really like to do, add that surplus value that is in the future.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_02]: So like if I could trade a third round pick this year for a second round pick this year,
- 7:50[SPEAKER_02]: I would do it because obviously that second on picks going to be more valuable and I'm not going anywhere.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_02]: All I have to do is wait a year.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_02]: So I love doing that.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, the Patriots built a freaking dynasty.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_02]: A lot of the
- 8:02[SPEAKER_02]: The depth of how they built the roster was doing that multiple trade downs from first to second rounds, second round of third round and getting future picks that were higher than the pick they gave away.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_02]: So I think that's a lot of times a good idea, but takes two to tango in the 2027 class.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_02]: And teams are going to be extremely trepidacious to give away first round picks for 2027, because there looks to be a lot more star power.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_02]: Actually, this class, I mean, the middle rounds, there's quality players, a lot of good athletes,
- 8:32[SPEAKER_02]: You're missing your transcendent, wide receiver, edge rushers, defensive tackles, quarterbacks, offensive tackles, even next year.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_02]: I know people always do this, but like next year, they're probably a cornerback better than anybody in this huge class in the one out of the guy out of Notre Dame.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_02]: Definitely a wide receiver better than anybody's class in Jeremiah Smith, definitely quarterbacks probably.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_02]: Mendoza is a pretty good quarterback prospect, unfortunately.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, you talk about, obviously, Jeremiah Smith, two adressors, next year, two Dylan Smith and Colin.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_02]: Colin, I can't remember his Texas adressor.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, these guys, you're talking about top five in this draft class this year.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_02]: So we'll see, but yeah, trading back always depends on what the offer is in whose calling, but and how far you're going down, but certainly possible.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_02]: I make it go either direction.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_02]: I could trade up, too, everything's on the table.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I don't think you're trying to get more draft capital in this draft for sure.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you can, but Broncos already have 55 players signed to contracts right now for 2026.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_01]: So you have minimal spots that are going to be open.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I mean, obviously some of those are bottom tier of the roster that you can replace.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_01]: But for the most part, Broncos last year, strong starters, pretty good depth,
- 9:50[SPEAKER_01]: And they can feel pretty good about this roster.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_01]: And so there might only be about seven or eight spots open for rookies to be able to make this roster this year.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_01]: And I just, that's why I'm saying 2027, if you can add to that, there's just going to be a lot of teams that are going to be wanting to hold on to that if they can.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_01]: Because like I said, the players in this draft, there are some really good players.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_01]: Like you look at sunny styles, Jeremiah love,
- 10:19[SPEAKER_01]: the problem is they're just not at the valuable positions.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_01]: Kind of you were talking earlier about what positions can you be weak at?
- 10:26[SPEAKER_01]: and still have a really good team.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes it's those positions.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm not trying to take away from those guys if they felt the 30, I would be running to the podium as quick as possible to have them be a Denver Bronco.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_01]: When there is rumors about Caleb Downs being having a knee injury and maybe having some issues with that, I'm like, yep, please have them fall the 30.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe as the Bronco is trying to spread that rumor, seeing if they can get them to fall down there.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_01]: But,
- 10:53[SPEAKER_01]: But for the most part, like I said, if you can wait for 2027, then you can really start thinking long term for this team.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's part of like I said, the patriots were are great showing up that where they didn't worry about.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_01]: that we need these guys right now to be immediate impact guys.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_01]: And having a coach that has really good job security, you've got your quarterback figured out that's when teams can start doing that.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_01]: They don't have to think just this year if they aren't in that place that if we don't win it this year we can have everybody fired.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_01]: And thank, I think the Broncos are in that kind of place too where they can feel very good about coach
- 11:33[SPEAKER_01]: quarterback, GM, I think everybody's in place.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to be here for a while.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe Sean Peyton thinks about retirement soon.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I think that's about the only thing you could maybe worry about there.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_01]: But you can think more long-term now because the Broncos are very set at the key positions.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and just to the point of trading down,
- 11:53[SPEAKER_02]: So the Broncos trade down in the second round last year, I believe, right?
- 11:58[SPEAKER_02]: And then they end up going, kidding, Argy, Harvey, have the trade down in that ammunition that got, then allowed them to move back up, up and down and around.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_02]: And so like the trade down from 30 doesn't necessarily mean they're gonna have more picks, not that you were saying that, Carl.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_02]: But it just could be ammunition to be flexible in the draft and kind of target players and ranges.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_02]: So if somebody slides that you like, you have the ability to go do that.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_02]: You trade some of those picks that you acquired for veterans to fill out the roster.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, you only gave up a six-round pick to bring in John Franklin Myers.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_02]: There's a real camping with the exact phrases, but like you can get massive surplus value trading for veterans if you have the extra capital to do so and the cap space to bring them in.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_02]: Definitely something to consider.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_02]: Just those picks allow a lot of flexibility when you move.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_02]: So Keith coming in, Broncos Country, good to see a Keith Paul's in the house.
- 12:48[SPEAKER_02]: Hello to the old OGs, wins of change.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_02]: How do we adjust Nick and Carl out to the greatest peeps?
- 12:53[SPEAKER_02]: Appreciate you Paul.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we'll see.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, again, if you see of this phre agent crops and I always say, like, I don't get to attach to any of the names on it because they're going to have
- 13:02[SPEAKER_02]: 20% of the top guys are gonna be cap casualties that you weren't even expecting.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_02]: A Kyla Murray today, right?
- 13:08[SPEAKER_02]: Like not them was going after him, but like I didn't expect Kyla Murray to get cut.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_02]: I hadn't been thinking about it really, but he's out there now.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_02]: And 25% are gonna get signed before the even hit for agency.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_02]: So the crop will be the crop.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_02]: I do think that because there's so much money in the NFL, there always has been like teams in really bolting down.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_02]: They kind of know how to manipulate the cap.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_02]: The quality of players at the top,
- 13:32[SPEAKER_02]: infreagency are not what they were 10 years ago, in my opinion, so it makes that like draft and development and surplus picks to trade for veterans, all the more valuable in my opinion.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_02]: So we'll keep it gone, but good to see you, Paul, hope you're doing well, appreciate you.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_02]: Michael's in the house, good evening, good evening, hope you're doing well.
- 13:50[SPEAKER_02]: He says, hit the thumbs up and subscribe, my little podcast on YouTube, become a member of the Mount Rushmore support, and join my little podcast discord, gobo, broncos, well, we don't have to do a show anymore.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_02]: He already promoted for us.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks Michael.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_02]: Roy in the house, Roy, golden retriever fan, and got a new car.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_02]: I'm so good to see a Roy.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_02]: Big E Bronco.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_02]: The Denver Bronco does not need to overpay for Kenneth Walker.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_02]: I would rather have Tyler earlier from Atlanta, JK Dobbins, draft to running you back.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_02]: Walkers are really talented.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_02]: There's no doubt I think he's kind of like a
- 14:22[SPEAKER_02]: If Scott was here, I could feel his eyes roll if I said this, but like stylistically, he's be John Robinson light, like how he can press the line of skirmish and then get out in some of the running style.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_02]: Like, that can't think of many players who like run like him.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_02]: Honestly, Dobbins kind of does a little bit too, but I think Walker has more of an explosive.
- 14:40[SPEAKER_02]: element to him, then Dobbins, they got to kick the tires, I think in the very least, I'm seeing how teams are like trading for running backs and like everything they're doing.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think a lot of folks.
- 14:52[SPEAKER_02]: value the running back crop in the draft that much don't want the combine shift things too much always happens like all these guys test for the wall what's the tapes a at the end of the day you know our draft and football players it's good to have the measurements and the thresholds but tapes the golden the northern star at the end of the day but yeah i'm interested in jakey dobbins back it just needs to be paired with another back and i would imagine
- 15:18[SPEAKER_02]: I would probably wouldn't approach JK-Dobbins to the deal until after the draft.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_02]: That's rough.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_02]: It's tough.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_02]: It's business.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_02]: He's not trustworthy health-wise.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_02]: So, I'm going after crops I trust more.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_02]: First, then depending on how the draft falls, going after JK-Dobbins then.
- 15:35[SPEAKER_01]: Honestly, I think all three of these guys, I would want to pair them with somebody.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_01]: Just, Algiers not been the lead back.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_01]: So we don't know how he's going to handle having 225 plus carries in a season.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_01]: Walker, he's, it's not that he's had the serious injuries, but he's always kind of been a little bit dinged up, you know, a hamstring, a quad, something's going on.
- 16:01[SPEAKER_01]: And so I just want somebody else that we could trust, he has to miss a couple of games, and I could come in J.K. Dobbins, we all know the injury history for him.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_01]: really and today's NFL.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_01]: I think it is pretty key that you need three running backs that you can trust to go out there and make plays.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_01]: At least two, that you can depend on to get at least 15 carries, pick up the hard yards, get positive plays on most every run play that they go out there.
- 16:30[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's the nice thing about Ken's Walker.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_01]: is that he does turn in most plays into a positive play.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_01]: Even the negative ones, he can turn them into positive plays where he's getting hit in the back field.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_01]: And like I say, he's got that one jump cut that is just very, very dangerous and it works so well in today's NFL and then the explosion to run away.
- 16:52[SPEAKER_01]: And so yes, the Broncos are connected to him.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_01]: Albert Breer put out there today that the Broncos are very much in the top running back market when we're talking about Travis CTN.
- 17:02[SPEAKER_01]: talking about Kenneth Walker.
- 17:05[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to be in those conversations.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_01]: And while I don't like paying top dollar for a running back, when this team is in, the the win now mode that they are, hey, we've got a real chance of this Super Bowl.
- 17:19[SPEAKER_01]: Part of me doesn't mind them over spending a little bit at the running back position.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_01]: If it means that we can upgrade and that we have a strong
- 17:32[SPEAKER_01]: I just think they put too much on him as a young player.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_01]: Now, he's done great with it.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_01]: Don't get me wrong.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_01]: But you put a strong run game with this.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_01]: Man, it opens up so many other things for what this offense could do.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_01]: And then I think you start talking about this being a top 10 offense.
- 17:49[SPEAKER_01]: And being able to really go win you some games when the defense isn't having their best day.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_01]: And so I don't mind them, like I said, spinning on Walker, depending on how high it gets.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, if we're talking 14, 15 million, which is right there at the franchise tag price, I'm like, yeah, it's the price.
- 18:10[SPEAKER_01]: That's what's gonna take.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_01]: When you're starting to get up there to 17, 18 million, then I'm saying, okay, let's move to the next guy.
- 18:17[SPEAKER_01]: And if that guy gets priced out, then you moved on, you know, and on down.
- 18:20[SPEAKER_01]: And I like Tyler, as you know, Al's here, don't get me wrong.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_01]: If the Broncos go that direction, I'm gonna be giving them a round of applause for getting that kind of deal done.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_01]: But there's a reason that Walker's trying to get that kind of money because he has that kind of talent where he can take over a game we saw it in the Super Bowl where he was able to do things on his own that not many running backs and then if I can do.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you are, you're right, I mean, it depends on the contract and the structure of the contract as well for somebody like that.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_02]: But
- 18:54[SPEAKER_02]: If you give them a 3 year deal, it's essentially a 2 year deal to pair with, you know, rookie cost control almost across all the offensive scope positions, Porter back as well.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I understand it, and it does fit the win now window.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_02]: I'm more interested in Algier.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_02]: Personally, I'm not as big on Travis ETN, but they got to come out with somebody.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think I think that's a we said it last year that what was the number one need it was a running back and they didn't necessarily feel it now typically it is a position that just because of attrition there are more bodies available but.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_02]: got to hit still.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_02]: I would say soft hit last year.
- 19:34[SPEAKER_02]: They got on base, but we need at least get a double, get a scoring position.
- 19:38[SPEAKER_02]: Patrick Wiltsy coming in here, shout out to you, man.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_02]: I got a package on my front door the other day with two cold brew wine coffees.
- 19:45[SPEAKER_02]: So I couldn't crack that in the evening.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to wait till it's a little warmer.
- 19:48[SPEAKER_02]: I actually felt a little bit like Seattle today out here in Denver.
- 19:51[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, no.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you so much.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_02]: Good to see you.
- 19:53[SPEAKER_02]: Appreciate you coming in here
- 19:58[SPEAKER_02]: Legit Mafia says, even Krasha was an amazing pick of it.
- 20:01[SPEAKER_02]: He was good.
- 20:01[SPEAKER_02]: It was fine.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_02]: I've been amazing.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_02]: He was average punter last season and without fuel position has changed in the NFL.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_02]: I think the net average punter, we do not have to spend a whole show on my theory on punching and special teams.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_02]: But like net average punting doesn't matter as much anymore because you're getting the ball at the 35 so much.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_02]: What matters is punts that end in the 10.
- 20:24[SPEAKER_02]: or in the five.
- 20:25[SPEAKER_02]: And Krasha just he was not very good last season in the coffin corner aspect of pontine.
- 20:31[SPEAKER_02]: So that's something going to have to be better on him.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, obviously fine, suppose it's a sit-tram pick for the round pick for a rookie.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_02]: Fine.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_02]: That's yeah.
- 20:39[SPEAKER_02]: You're not going to find many starters in the six or seventh round just in general, but something to keep an eye on and just with how the game has changed because of the kickoff rules.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_01]: So with that,
- 20:50[SPEAKER_01]: do you think more teams are gonna start instead of deferring to the second half?
- 20:55[SPEAKER_01]: Start thinking about taking it for the first half because you know, I'm just listening to somebody talk about this the other day, you know, you start somewhere between the 30 and the 35.
- 21:03[SPEAKER_01]: I think it was even Sean Payton was talking about this a little bit.
- 21:06[SPEAKER_01]: You pick up one first down and you punt.
- 21:09[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you can pin that team back in the 10 yard line, five yard line, if you're putting it all in that position battle, it really gets into your favor there.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_01]: So I think you really could see some teams, if they win the coin toss, start to make the choice more to start receiving than then kicking it off right off the bat.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it's the same thing as always, right?
- 21:29[SPEAKER_02]: You get the ball first.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_02]: You can score first, right?
- 21:31[SPEAKER_02]: Like that's the, but if you get it second, you can score second.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_02]: So the field position stuff will drive the habit in the first half of the second half.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_02]: It would be fascinating to see.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_02]: I'd be curious about the numbers and a bigger, more analytical discussion on it.
- 21:44[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you, legit Mafia for coming in.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_02]: Your given us a chance to talk a little bit of hunting.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_02]: Shannon also says, out of loop yesterday, had a tooth extracted.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_02]: Wolf, who was fulfilling, okay?
- 21:51[SPEAKER_02]: Hopefully, the,
- 21:53[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if I can't anymore, but hopefully everything's working out just fine for you, and hopefully that just super chat wasn't an accident with the post-toothed extraction the fun times.
- 22:03[SPEAKER_02]: We got also, I did want to say, obviously, to film a glawflon, come in here and shout out the film, not only obviously the super chat, and everything, but I see him with the
- 22:13[SPEAKER_02]: the wow react over on Facebook.
- 22:15[SPEAKER_02]: So we got to hate reacts right now.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_02]: Actually, you guys are clicking the thumbs up and all that good stuff as well.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_02]: Be says a good evening, Nick and Carl will jacobie Lane be available at 30.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 22:26[SPEAKER_02]: Jacob, unless there's something going on, that's way outside the scope.
- 22:31[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, last year we saw, there's the consensus draft board Carl, right?
- 22:35[SPEAKER_02]: And last season, we had like two of the largest against consensus picks at wide receiver in the last 10 years in Isaac Tiesla, going top of the third round and then Pat Bryant, what was he pick 75?
- 22:48[SPEAKER_02]: Pick 85, something like that, and Brian, it was great.
- 22:50[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he's,
- 22:52[SPEAKER_02]: Honestly, if you flip like Pat Bryant around with the Jaday Barron, you're like, okay, Bryant with the flashes and how they used him, I mean, which was a little bit more explosive, but like, looks like a number two wide receiver in the least for a pick, 20, that's fine.
- 23:04[SPEAKER_02]: And then Jaday Barron kind of played like a mid-day two pick when he was out there.
- 23:09[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, it's about the, we're all the guys hitting everything, but Jaday Barron would be shocked.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_02]: Right now, I don't know if the odds are for him going at third
- 23:23[SPEAKER_01]: So what about his playing partner in the Kyle Linnon?
- 23:26[SPEAKER_02]: No, because the weirdness with the combine, you can talk about it, but I just like, who knows?
- 23:31[SPEAKER_02]: All it takes is one team, but like, sounds like he got F's in the interviews.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 23:36[SPEAKER_01]: And you talk about it guys, undersized.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_01]: He's not the fastest guy out there.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_01]: He runs good routes.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_01]: He has incredible hands.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he'll make a catch and traffic that you are good.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_01]: wondering how in the world he came up with the same with Jacobi Lane.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_01]: I mean both of those guys if I was a quarterback I'd be like this is great.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_01]: I can just throw it up and probably this guy's going to come down with it.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_01]: I mean Lane might have some of the the best highlight catches of this past season.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but McIlliman if he let's say if he was there at 30 what I'd take him.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_01]: I probably would.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I do think he is a good player, and I think he's going to probably be more of a number two wide receiver than a number one, but as you said earlier, I pick 30.
- 24:24[SPEAKER_01]: If you can find a number two wide receiver, you're still doing pretty darn good.
- 24:28[SPEAKER_01]: And if we can upgrade and move all the other guys down one spot, like I like Franklin, but I like him more as a number three or number four wide receiver.
- 24:37[SPEAKER_01]: Same thing with Pat Bryant, I like him.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_01]: but if you move him down to third wide receiver and you have him and lemon and and and setting on the field together, I kind of like that group.
- 24:48[SPEAKER_01]: So I probably pick him, but I'd also want to know what happened in those interviews.
- 24:53[SPEAKER_01]: Like what was he saying was it like should we're Sanders last year?
- 24:56[SPEAKER_01]: Where he was, oh, I'm gonna have my own TB crew and we're doing our own show and what can you give me?
- 25:02[SPEAKER_01]: Not what can I give you?
- 25:03[SPEAKER_01]: You know, what are you gonna do for me here?
- 25:06[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know why in the world he decided to go in that kind of direction.
- 25:11[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know who was telling him.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_01]: I probably is dad But that's and it's dad.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_01]: It's one of those.
- 25:17[SPEAKER_01]: He could get away with it.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_01]: It's corner back and And just the talent level.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_01]: I mean he was just so far in above that you're going okay.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_01]: We don't care Yeah, you're kind of a me first kind of guy you're your big shot We can put up with it that corner back
- 25:34[SPEAKER_01]: you know, all those kind of things.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_01]: But I do.
- 25:37[SPEAKER_01]: I just wonder what was set.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_01]: What was so bad to make teams go, nope, we don't like this.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_02]: Nice.
- 25:46[SPEAKER_02]: No idea, man.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_02]: It's uh, going to be interesting to see what happens with him.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_02]: All takes his one team though.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, it sounds like he definitely flubbed his interviews.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_02]: Frank wants to do your in price.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_02]: You cannot go wrong.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, we'll see about generic and pricey's interesting.
- 26:01[SPEAKER_02]: I know that Eric is not as big of a fan on him, but I think, you know, second round, late second round third round.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_02]: I'm interested, but
- 26:10[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see, shall I look good to see it?
- 26:12[SPEAKER_02]: He sells it says, running back cycle has me reminiscing the days when a back could get a thousand yards in a shant of hand offense.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, there's not as many thousand yard rushers.
- 26:20[SPEAKER_02]: Any more anyways, because they're not feeding them the rock, like that anymore.
- 26:26[SPEAKER_02]: It's about efficiency overall.
- 26:28[SPEAKER_02]: So it will be interesting to follow, no doubt.
- 26:32[SPEAKER_02]: Michael says, three or 16 million or three or 17 million for Walker is what I was hearing.
- 26:36[SPEAKER_02]: I think you're saying 16 million per year.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_02]: It's not my money, it's a little rich for me, but it's not that depends on the structure.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_02]: Like, is it a deal that you can feasibly get out of after a year, and then the last year is essentially no dead money, maybe, maybe he's talented.
- 26:55[SPEAKER_02]: But, I mean, I remember Washington at Michigan State.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_02]: He was, who was the head coach at Colorado that, like, spurred, spurred them?
- 27:04[SPEAKER_02]: Is that the right word?
- 27:04[SPEAKER_02]: And then went off to Mel Tucker?
- 27:07[SPEAKER_02]: Is it melt-tucker?
- 27:08[SPEAKER_02]: I think you're right, yeah.
- 27:09[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, yeah.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_02]: Like, he got melt-tucker a lot of money.
- 27:13[SPEAKER_02]: Cause, kind of the walker was so good at that Michigan State team.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see how do they do with the Antonio, but that's a decent infrastructure there in Michigan State.
- 27:21[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see.
- 27:23[SPEAKER_02]: Shannon Mills says, I think, else your endoblins would fit more since Dobbins can be, can coach RJ, essentially get two running bags in a mentor for the cost of walker.
- 27:31[SPEAKER_02]: Question is, would Daubin's wanna come here after signing Aljir or vice versa?
- 27:35[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, that's the tougher part and the sell for me.
- 27:39[SPEAKER_02]: Again, I think the Daubin's stuff, if you want to come back and not get guaranteed touches because you brought in somebody that's a little bit more durable then fine, that'd be great.
- 27:50[SPEAKER_02]: But I just, he wants to play too at the same time, right?
- 27:53[SPEAKER_02]: Like, he's trying to earn
- 27:55[SPEAKER_02]: a big contract for multiple guaranteed years.
- 27:59[SPEAKER_02]: That's going to do life changing right now.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_02]: He's a mercenary year by year.
- 28:02[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to get that opportunity.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe somebody getting his ear, maybe you know, only getting 10 touches a game is better for him.
- 28:09[SPEAKER_02]: You can show efficiency like he did last season.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_02]: For 10 touches a game is day healthy.
- 28:14[SPEAKER_02]: Somebody is, you know, oh, okay, or people's healthier last year and pay him.
- 28:17[SPEAKER_02]: But, you know, we'll see it's always tough.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_01]: Go ahead.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_01]: If you had that group, how would you divide up the touches?
- 28:28[SPEAKER_02]: I haven't thought about it very much.
- 28:30[SPEAKER_02]: I was years going to get the majority of the carries, especially on the early based downs.
- 28:34[SPEAKER_02]: I really hope that Harvey can take steps forward in past protection, because this ability as a past catcher, while still having the frame, I think is there.
- 28:43[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if he's ever going to be a great running back between the tackles per se with how he looked last season, but like,
- 28:49[SPEAKER_02]: The tools are there to be a good pass predictor for him.
- 28:51[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, we saw flashes of it.
- 28:52[SPEAKER_02]: So can you do that, that'd be great.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_02]: And then Dobbins, you know, just kind of maybe spelling both of them a little bit, but you're talking about, you know, 15, 5 to 10 touches for Dobbins, 10 to 18 for Aljir.
- 29:09[SPEAKER_02]: 8 to 15 for Harvey, probably something like that.
- 29:13[SPEAKER_02]: But I'd love them to get a little bit more balanced and they're run pass splits.
- 29:17[SPEAKER_02]: Like I'm kind of like Bonax has the most pass attempts out of anybody in the NFL the last two years.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_02]: Part of that's a big healthy until he didn't.
- 29:26[SPEAKER_02]: But I would love to be a little bit more balanced and take a little bit of that load off of him.
- 29:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_01]: No, I'm with you.
- 29:35[SPEAKER_01]: I'd rather see you more of what?
- 29:38[SPEAKER_01]: like 53, 47% kind of split for past run.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you're still gonna always pass, especially with Sean Baton here.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_01]: You're still gonna be a passing team.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_01]: But if you can get a little bit more balance, like I said, and then takes pressure off, I think then you got a few more explosive plays that could be coming into the offense.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_01]: He could still put up the same number of yards just with fewer past attempts.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_01]: But we got Clayton coming in saying, hey, hey, guys, hey, to you as well.
- 30:05[SPEAKER_01]: Good to see you here this evening.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_01]: Got a lot of the regulars, which is good to see.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_01]: And let's see who else we got coming in here.
- 30:14[SPEAKER_01]: I know we had, had Phil coming back in with some more stars.
- 30:21[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you very much, Phil.
- 30:22[SPEAKER_01]: Twice here.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_01]: This is guys, do you think JFM will be part of a trade or will we get a draft pick for him or will we keep him?
- 30:31[SPEAKER_01]: And so, well, one, Jeff, him's a free agent.
- 30:35[SPEAKER_01]: So you can't trade him.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, then the Tag Deadline already passed today is at 4 p.m. Eastern Time, 2 p.m. Mountain Time for those of you that are there.
- 30:46[SPEAKER_01]: And so the best thing the Broncos could hope for right now is a convict for him.
- 30:50[SPEAKER_01]: That's about the best you can get and so you better be hoping he gets a big contract that he's getting up there in the the 20 2022 or 22 million kind of contract pretty much seems like the
- 31:06[SPEAKER_01]: It's no secret that he's probably going to the Titans.
- 31:09[SPEAKER_01]: It seems like everybody's kind of recruiting him to end up there, work with Robert Salad, which I think would be a really good fit for him.
- 31:16[SPEAKER_01]: And they've got plenty of money so they could pay him.
- 31:19[SPEAKER_01]: And so I think probably that's the direction he goes.
- 31:22[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think the brokers are keeping him.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_01]: If they were keeping him, they would have already signed him to a contract.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_01]: And it sounds like he was willing to give the Broncos a discount.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_01]: He and the Broncos just said, now we're good, we're moving on.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_01]: We like, say beyond Jones.
- 31:36[SPEAKER_01]: We like, was a reggae.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_01]: We think these guys can pick up maybe not be what he was.
- 31:44[SPEAKER_01]: But if they could be 90% of what he was for a tenth of the price, that's a pretty good business right there.
- 31:52[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes that you're gonna have to let, when you're this good of a team,
- 31:56[SPEAKER_01]: You're gonna have to let some talent go everyone's in a while.
- 31:59[SPEAKER_01]: And JFM, it was great while we had them.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_01]: It was great that it only cost us a six-round pick to get them.
- 32:05[SPEAKER_01]: And maybe we end up getting like a fourth-round, compact pick-back next year, not this year.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_02]: Probably not, because they're probably sign, probably.
- 32:15[SPEAKER_02]: I contract, that's like in ballpark.
- 32:18[SPEAKER_02]: But we'll see.
- 32:21[SPEAKER_02]: And you say when we get a draft pack,
- 32:22[SPEAKER_02]: draft pickback for maybe the compact like you said, but he's gone.
- 32:26[SPEAKER_02]: You have to hope that you know in the aggregate.
- 32:30[SPEAKER_02]: You can replace them and also enter your defensive line because of him being gone and how valuable it is.
- 32:35[SPEAKER_02]: It's very much on the table for the Broncos early in the draft.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_02]: You do have some rookie contract guys, a Waza Reak A and C beyond Jones though that hopefully can take some steps forward.
- 32:44[SPEAKER_02]: And maybe you find a mercenary body type that wants to come in to a good defense that can play pretty well, considering the infrastructure.
- 32:52[SPEAKER_02]: That's your nose again and be as good as JFM, no, but if you can get.
- 32:56[SPEAKER_02]: 80% of JFM for, you know, 40% of the cost, maybe it allows you a little bit of area of money and flexibility to go elsewhere.
- 33:04[SPEAKER_02]: Glenn in the house is good morning from down under for agencies upon us and some dominoes are falling as players are cut.
- 33:10[SPEAKER_02]: Aside from stowers, any tight-end prospects your high-on post-compined, I was impressed with like, I'll be testing.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I Ely Raerdin, obviously the biggest thing for him is going to be the medicals because he had some injuries there in other
- 33:25[SPEAKER_02]: What do you run, Carl, like a four or seven, four or six?
- 33:27[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he, uh, for that size and probably the best blocker in the class.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he's, there's only probably 12 to 14 like true-wise in the NFL at any point in Denver and for my opinion, didn't have one of them.
- 33:41[SPEAKER_02]: Trump and kind of, but I mean, this, you need a why.
- 33:43[SPEAKER_02]: God bless it.
- 33:44[SPEAKER_02]: And it's driving me nuts for the operation, the offense.
- 33:46[SPEAKER_02]: I really like Eli Raredin.
- 33:48[SPEAKER_02]: Stowers had a good combine, no doubt.
- 33:51[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, Kenyans, DK had a good enough combine that he's
- 33:54[SPEAKER_02]: out of the realm of reality for Denver now, and I think it would be stupid to trade up for him for where he's going to go like you can trade up for 13 overall for a tight end.
- 34:03[SPEAKER_02]: No, no, absolutely.
- 34:05[SPEAKER_02]: That's bad business guys.
- 34:07[SPEAKER_02]: He'd have to be a whole a fame-level player to probably be worth that trade up for a tight end.
- 34:12[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not betting on that.
- 34:13[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's going to be good.
- 34:14[SPEAKER_02]: I bet he's going to be a hallfamer.
- 34:16[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 34:17[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 34:18[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, we'll see.
- 34:21[SPEAKER_02]: Any other tight ends.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, for you.
- 34:25[SPEAKER_01]: Sam Ralph had a really good.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah.
- 34:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, if not for the two of us are man.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_02]: Crazy body type doesn't be any.
- 34:33[SPEAKER_01]: That's yeah.
- 34:34[SPEAKER_02]: Let me get any sense.
- 34:36[SPEAKER_01]: But I mean, he came into the combine more known as a blocking
- 34:41[SPEAKER_01]: And he came out as one of the top athletes.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_01]: So you might be trying to read into that and say, okay, well, we know that he's good blocker, that he could come in, be that wide tied in for us.
- 34:52[SPEAKER_01]: And then maybe we can turn him into something a little bit more.
- 34:56[SPEAKER_02]: I just, I don't know if he has the length to be a Y.
- 35:00[SPEAKER_02]: It's what is it?
- 35:01[SPEAKER_02]: 6%ile, 5%ile.
- 35:03[SPEAKER_02]: I think you probably got a weaponized him as a blocker, kind of like how the Jaguars have used Brenton Strange, right?
- 35:10[SPEAKER_02]: Where he's a really good athlete, using a 250, but he's got T-rex arms.
- 35:15[SPEAKER_02]: And because of that, they don't really deploy him as a true inline blocker all that often because the length that Edressor's having the NFL is just freakin' different.
- 35:26[SPEAKER_02]: And they just like, they dictate engagement then often.
- 35:30[SPEAKER_02]: So like, I'm not saying he can't do it sometimes.
- 35:33[SPEAKER_02]: It just like it's it's short enough where it's like, I mean, I don't know, but good enough athlete even still as a f h back some y usage.
- 35:43[SPEAKER_02]: It's fine.
- 35:44[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm another guy.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_02]: I know that max clear gets all the love for being a tight end, but I thought the other Ohio State tight end whose name just gave me right now.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_02]: You're talking D3 with somebody like him.
- 35:57[SPEAKER_02]: I would believe but like
- 35:59[SPEAKER_02]: He's going to come in and do a role.
- 36:00[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's, I mean, I went back a lot.
- 36:02[SPEAKER_02]: So I was like, take off the Michigan tape.
- 36:04[SPEAKER_02]: He kicked butt as a blocker in that one.
- 36:07[SPEAKER_02]: So I mean, I know everybody that doesn't get you the fantasy points, but
- 36:12[SPEAKER_02]: You gotta be able to frickin' block the change the math for teens.
- 36:17[SPEAKER_02]: Offensive.
- 36:17[SPEAKER_02]: That will kick the mark.
- 36:20[SPEAKER_02]: I think so.
- 36:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yep, yep, yep.
- 36:22[SPEAKER_02]: So like, why was Ohio State allowed to deploy all these different, you know, white receivers and Max Clare, who's essentially, you know, a lot, big slot.
- 36:31[SPEAKER_02]: because you have a tie-in that freaking did the dirty work up front and a wabbed you to be multiple.
- 36:36[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, those guys stood out to me.
- 36:39[SPEAKER_02]: We've got more pearl running late but good to see appreciate you.
- 36:43[SPEAKER_02]: I hope you're doing well, Mr. Fumms.
- 36:44[SPEAKER_02]: It's a little too much zest.
- 36:45[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know what that's about but we're there's no such thing as too much that's we got a zest for life.
- 36:49[SPEAKER_02]: Chase Wellner coming in says thoughts on what Houston gave up for Montgomery.
- 36:55[SPEAKER_02]: too much for what ninth year seventh year running back for eight million this year ten million next year and what was at a fourth the seventh and a starting it's this grugs and juice grugs who has not been like great but like even just as a depth you know into your offensive linemen that's valuable for a second string I mean my grandmother is good I got to take it and I was thinking like a six
- 37:23[SPEAKER_02]: for him.
- 37:24[SPEAKER_02]: So a fourth to seventh and a player.
- 37:25[SPEAKER_01]: Not for me.
- 37:28[SPEAKER_01]: And from what I understand, Broncos kind of forced the NAF to pay that much.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_02]: Sounds like a rare.
- 37:36[SPEAKER_02]: Here's the trade.
- 37:37[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, actually here's the updated trade.
- 37:40[SPEAKER_02]: Don't see that.
- 37:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so Broncos came in with something a little bit more than a fifth brown pick.
- 37:46[SPEAKER_01]: And then Houston redirected and said, all right, yep, we'll go fourth, seventh and a player.
- 37:53[SPEAKER_01]: So Broncos liked him.
- 37:55[SPEAKER_01]: Broncos really did want him.
- 37:57[SPEAKER_01]: And I think he would have been fine here, but yes, that kind of price.
- 38:01[SPEAKER_01]: No, thank you.
- 38:03[SPEAKER_01]: Not for a guy that that kind of age.
- 38:06[SPEAKER_01]: The number of carries that he's had.
- 38:08[SPEAKER_01]: It just, it's not worth it when there's plenty of guys are going to be free agents that I really like.
- 38:14[SPEAKER_01]: And it sounds like there's even some other guys like Josh Jacobs could get cut.
- 38:17[SPEAKER_01]: James Connor.
- 38:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, James Connor is supposed to be cut so there's just so many names out there.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_01]: Why, why give up draft picks when you can probably go find somebody that's pretty comparable to what he would bring to the table.
- 38:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 38:33[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to be interesting to follow.
- 38:35[SPEAKER_02]: No doubt.
- 38:35[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, thanks Roy for keeping us up there on the trade.
- 38:39[SPEAKER_02]: Rodney Garcia says good evening.
- 38:41[SPEAKER_02]: You guys see us picking up a veteran tight in like Dallas got hurt.
- 38:44[SPEAKER_02]: I know that he's definitely diminishing.
- 38:47[SPEAKER_02]: He's not like the force multiplier that he used to be, but I mean, still can play the Y rule, same with David and Joku.
- 38:55[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he talk about a three-year contract that's essentially a two-year contract or two-year contract that's one-year contract.
- 39:01[SPEAKER_02]: I'm definitely interested.
- 39:03[SPEAKER_02]: I know that there's some love out there for Daniel Bellinger.
- 39:06[SPEAKER_02]: Good athlete.
- 39:07[SPEAKER_02]: Solid move blocker has some familiarity.
- 39:10[SPEAKER_02]: He was a teammate with Davis Web.
- 39:12[SPEAKER_02]: And then you got probably the best why on the market is a Charlie Colar, who has some ties to this staff.
- 39:19[SPEAKER_02]: Iowa State, which so he would pick the wrong school to play tight end.
- 39:22[SPEAKER_02]: But then we won't hold it against him too much.
- 39:24[SPEAKER_02]: But he's somebody.
- 39:25[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he's 67, 68, 260.
- 39:29[SPEAKER_02]: You're paying for a blocker, more than a receiver, but he can be a red zone guy, you know, find the soft spot in his own post up and definitely a good blocker.
- 39:38[SPEAKER_02]: So there's a lot of options tied in, K-Dotten also, I mean, pretty good chain mover.
- 39:44[SPEAKER_02]: I wish he was a little bit stronger at the point of attack, but does have the frame, he can do some stuff as well.
- 39:50[SPEAKER_02]: So there's options out there, it just depends on the contract, but I would be shocked if they didn't bring in another tight end.
- 39:56[SPEAKER_02]: Tied in, running back linebacker, it's gonna happen.
- 39:59[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 40:00[SPEAKER_01]: Well, for sure.
- 40:00[SPEAKER_01]: I've been droughtman's a free agent, Nate Adkins.
- 40:04[SPEAKER_01]: They haven't signed him to a restrict free agent tag.
- 40:08[SPEAKER_01]: So both of those guys could be gone.
- 40:10[SPEAKER_01]: Right now you're looking at Evan Ingraham.
- 40:14[SPEAKER_01]: That's, that's about it and the why in the tied end room.
- 40:16[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, if it's again, well, they haven't put a tag.
- 40:20[SPEAKER_01]: Or they haven't done the restrict free agent and yet with him.
- 40:23[SPEAKER_02]: The tender?
- 40:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the tender, sorry.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_01]: I couldn't think of the word.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_02]: Is he exclusive rights?
- 40:27[SPEAKER_02]: I can't remember.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_01]: No, he's right there.
- 40:31[SPEAKER_01]: They'll put the original around tender on him.
- 40:33[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure.
- 40:34[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure they will.
- 40:35[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, they do like him.
- 40:37[SPEAKER_01]: He's used to.
- 40:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he is.
- 40:40[SPEAKER_01]: He'll be back.
- 40:41[SPEAKER_01]: But still, you need another tie-in for sure.
- 40:44[SPEAKER_01]: Just to get ready for the draft.
- 40:46[SPEAKER_01]: And this isn't a bad tie-in draft.
- 40:48[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot of guys I do like.
- 40:51[SPEAKER_01]: I saw somebody ask the question, where would Sadeek rank in last year's draft?
- 40:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
- 40:57[SPEAKER_01]: Nope.
- 40:57[SPEAKER_01]: You got it.
- 40:57[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no, no.
- 40:59[SPEAKER_01]: Pull it up.
- 41:00[SPEAKER_01]: I'll pull it up here.
- 41:02[SPEAKER_01]: So how would you rank Sadeek with last year's top titans in Warren and Loveland?
- 41:07[SPEAKER_01]: It'd be behind them for sure.
- 41:09[SPEAKER_01]: They both have a little bit more size, a little bit more fluidity to their game.
- 41:15[SPEAKER_01]: Sadeek.
- 41:20[SPEAKER_01]: He's more athlete than football player right now to me.
- 41:23[SPEAKER_01]: He's a great athlete, and he could turn into a top five tied-in in football.
- 41:29[SPEAKER_01]: But Warren and LeBlanc, they just, they were further along in their development of a tied-in, and what you could think of them as.
- 41:38[SPEAKER_01]: And I think they were just a little bit more multiple as well.
- 41:42[SPEAKER_01]: They're better route runners.
- 41:45[SPEAKER_01]: So deeks up there with them for blocking.
- 41:47[SPEAKER_01]: Don't get me wrong on me.
- 41:48[SPEAKER_01]: Ease, these are very, very talented blocker for being undersized the way that he is.
- 41:55[SPEAKER_01]: But those other two, they're just more of what you look at when you look around the league and say, okay, these are the top tight ends.
- 42:01[SPEAKER_01]: These are the size measurements, everything else.
- 42:04[SPEAKER_01]: You usually see more of a worn and love-land.
- 42:07[SPEAKER_01]: So deeks, just a little bit,
- 42:09[SPEAKER_01]: He's just on that smaller side.
- 42:11[SPEAKER_01]: And it's hard to see how he's going to get clear to that kind of level.
- 42:15[SPEAKER_01]: And part of it is, we have seen Warren and Lovelin in the NFL.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_01]: We know these guys are actually really good titans.
- 42:21[SPEAKER_01]: Like they're already probably in that top 10 titan conversation as rookies.
- 42:27[SPEAKER_01]: Whereas Adique, and then I think the other thing for me,
- 42:31[SPEAKER_01]: By then, the season, you could see with Oregon, they were leaning more towards his playing partner at Titan than they were in the season.
- 42:38[SPEAKER_02]: He just billed like an NFL Titan.
- 42:40[SPEAKER_02]: Like, Steve's great.
- 42:41[SPEAKER_02]: It was Johnson, Jamar.
- 42:43[SPEAKER_02]: I can't remember the name, but like,
- 42:46[SPEAKER_02]: man.
- 42:47[SPEAKER_02]: That's a big boy out there.
- 42:51[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, and he's great.
- 42:51[SPEAKER_02]: He's somewhere between Vernon Davis and Evan Ingraham.
- 42:55[SPEAKER_02]: He's gotten more dog to him than Evan Ingraham.
- 42:58[SPEAKER_02]: He doesn't have the 15, 20 pounds that Vernon Davis had as well.
- 43:03[SPEAKER_02]: I wouldn't say he's the most
- 43:05[SPEAKER_02]: nuanced mover if that makes sense like he's so explosive and like compact that like he can't really throttle down that much, which is one of the things like especially like working the middle of the field it just it doesn't look like he doesn't always play like he has control if that makes sense like you like you see a wide receiver especially like a slot and their ability to change direction and like change their stride length like slow down their pace.
- 43:30[SPEAKER_02]: to work the zone or anything like he's going to be tough as heck to cover up the scene on dump offs after the catch crossing routes just because like so much speed but like the actual ability to like you know like and throttles the word I keep coming to just don't see that as much again though he's big enough it's strong enough athlete good enough blocker can be weaponized in so many ways like he's going to be a top 20 player.
- 43:55[SPEAKER_02]: should be.
- 43:57[SPEAKER_02]: I wouldn't put him up there with loveland, more and just a little more potential because the size, but I think, I mean, honestly Carl, like, where can I buy stock that lovelands the best hidden in the entire NFL a year from now?
- 44:11[SPEAKER_02]: Because I'm I'm looking to buy right now.
- 44:13[SPEAKER_02]: He, he looks different.
- 44:16[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I'm gonna switch sports here.
- 44:19[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 44:20[SPEAKER_01]: It's a week reminds me of Chapin, the pitcher.
- 44:24[SPEAKER_02]: A relius?
- 44:25[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 44:28[SPEAKER_01]: I can't remember, yeah, first name, yeah.
- 44:31[SPEAKER_01]: Fastball.
- 44:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, fastball.
- 44:33[SPEAKER_01]: He had one really good pitch.
- 44:35[SPEAKER_01]: And it was amazing.
- 44:37[SPEAKER_01]: And Sadik, like I said, he can outathlete a lot of people, even in the NFL, he's gonna be out afflighting a lot of people.
- 44:44[SPEAKER_01]: Most linebackers, even safeties, he's gonna be able to run away from some of those guys.
- 44:50[SPEAKER_01]: But like I said, the ability to set up plays, the ability to understand where to sit down and zones.
- 44:57[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's for me why I love lovelins so much last year.
- 45:00[SPEAKER_01]: You could see even at the college level, he understood NFL ideas.
- 45:05[SPEAKER_01]: if if he realized that they were in zone and he was running a man beater hey there's a time just sit down in this spot and and he would just be right there for for an easy catch so so he like I said if he can figure out the little nuances of the game he can become a huge weapon in the NFL but he's just not there he's he's a long ways away from that and i i just don't know if he has quite that mentality because he likes that he's
- 45:35[SPEAKER_01]: And you love that.
- 45:37[SPEAKER_01]: But like I said, there's those times where you need to set some things up so you can come back to something later on or as you said in a route.
- 45:46[SPEAKER_01]: Cooper Cup, this is what made him so dangerous for a while there when he was really healthy.
- 45:51[SPEAKER_01]: He said, he could go through gears.
- 45:53[SPEAKER_01]: He kind of come up to the corner back, going in first gear, get to them all, send boom, he's in third gear, going across the field, and just wide open.
- 46:01[SPEAKER_01]: Because the corner's going, oh, yeah, you're kind of slow playing that, and just not expecting that burst of speed.
- 46:07[SPEAKER_01]: And so he gets, nope, I'm in third gear from the very beginning, third gear going across the field.
- 46:12[SPEAKER_01]: And he just can't make those turns that you would like to see coming out of his brakes.
- 46:21[SPEAKER_02]: I do say, I think there's a little bit more nuance to him, like he has some real good acrobatic plays as an athlete.
- 46:27[SPEAKER_02]: You can see the rhythm despite the size like he can go up and pluck the ball and there's like athleticism and coordination and strength in the ability that he does that and also because he is strong enough and got enough, you know, heart, he can be weaponized as a blocker at your Y full blown Y. I mean, again, how many times you've got to talk about that, maybe not.
- 46:46[SPEAKER_02]: very good and shouldn't be going in the top 20.
- 46:49[SPEAKER_02]: Never probably shouldn't trade from either.
- 46:51[SPEAKER_02]: But we'll keep moving here.
- 46:53[SPEAKER_02]: Rodney asks about Jacob Rodriguez.
- 46:55[SPEAKER_02]: I draft Jacob Rodriguez that 62 or whatever Denver's picking at down there.
- 47:01[SPEAKER_02]: 30.
- 47:03[SPEAKER_02]: Probably not.
- 47:03[SPEAKER_02]: I just don't think he's got enough juice if you will.
- 47:07[SPEAKER_02]: It takes a
- 47:08[SPEAKER_02]: It takes a pretty special player for me to be like, oh yeah, around one mind-mecker.
- 47:13[SPEAKER_02]: And I think there's probably only two in the class that I would like and the probably both go in top 10.
- 47:18[SPEAKER_02]: Other than that, it's kind of an opportunity cost, not going for a more position of value.
- 47:24[SPEAKER_02]: I think if there's anybody who might work their way into where at 30, where I'm like, okay, fine, I like it, it is probably CJ Allen, but it's just because he has such a, he's really young and he is,
- 47:38[SPEAKER_02]: damn explosive as a player like a wrecking ball.
- 47:41[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I know, he Rodriguez might be the better player.
- 47:43[SPEAKER_02]: He might have been the better player.
- 47:44[SPEAKER_02]: I just think the traits that Alan has our value to a little higher in the league.
- 47:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and it sounds like there's quite a few teams in the 20s that are interested in CJ Allen right now.
- 47:57[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, there's still a lot of time before the draft.
- 48:00[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, players will move up and down like crazy as more information gets out there.
- 48:03[SPEAKER_01]: But we've got Daniel Barry Sports coming in saying, happy Tuesday, what's up, everyone?
- 48:08[SPEAKER_01]: Good to see you Daniel, and thanks for joining us here on the show.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, I'm with you.
- 48:12[SPEAKER_01]: The second tier linebackers in this draft, there's about five or six of them that I actually really like.
- 48:21[SPEAKER_01]: That's why I'd rather wait till second, third round to probably hit that position, unless one of those guys really falls.
- 48:28[SPEAKER_01]: Or like you said, CJ, I could understand it.
- 48:31[SPEAKER_01]: I think I would probably bring back if they're not or singleton, one of the two, and keep green law and then give CJ Allen maybe a year just to kind of learn more of the position because if you can combine football knowledge with the athleticism, yeah, he could turn into something really special for you.
- 48:49[SPEAKER_01]: But I do think he needs a little bit of time before you really put him out there on a regular basis.
- 48:55[SPEAKER_02]: Smart player, you really need to come in downhill, physical,
- 49:00[SPEAKER_02]: good athlete now he's not like the Texas kid in this class and obviously not neither either of the Ohio State kids but like a good athlete questions and coverage which won't be answered until he's in the league so
- 49:16[SPEAKER_02]: Who knows?
- 49:17[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see how it plays out.
- 49:18[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to see Daniel Barry Sports coming in here.
- 49:20[SPEAKER_02]: Closed this morning at Brock is looking to keep traveling.
- 49:23[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe they are.
- 49:24[SPEAKER_02]: That's one of those ones where we've missed out on the guys that we really like.
- 49:27[SPEAKER_02]: And then, oh, I always loved you, baby.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_02]: Come back home, you're not a three.
- 49:33[SPEAKER_02]: That wasn't at the bar, you know, looking to hit up some seven pluses as, let's go home.
- 49:40[SPEAKER_02]: So not to be too a show-inistic, I guess, the word there on that one, but that's kind of, you know, it's stuff.
- 49:48[SPEAKER_02]: It's a safety net, if you will.
- 49:50[SPEAKER_02]: So we'll see, because it doesn't have the offense, and you can play a rule, no doubt.
- 49:55[SPEAKER_02]: Other news franchise tags, shape, reshaping things.
- 49:58[SPEAKER_02]: I think the text, the jets, did officially offer the franchise tag to Breeze Hall.
- 50:04[SPEAKER_02]: Today, somebody in a chat, correct me if wrong, I thought I saw that come across the wire.
- 50:08[SPEAKER_02]: Also, running back-wise, Javon, Jantel Williams, signed a $3 or $24 million contract about a week ago.
- 50:14[SPEAKER_02]: you do have kind of walkers though that's set to hit the market and it sounds like he's going to have a lot of interest.
- 50:21[SPEAKER_02]: Also you have the giants released in Bobby Ocariki from Stanford to the Colts to the giants.
- 50:29[SPEAKER_02]: There's linebackers out there.
- 50:30[SPEAKER_02]: I do think Denver's probably more interested in entertaining the bodies they have here, but we'll see.
- 50:35[SPEAKER_02]: There's linebackers available.
- 50:37[SPEAKER_02]: There's tight ends available running back.
- 50:40[SPEAKER_02]: kind of ironically, not as deep, but any final thoughts Carl before we get out of any final thoughts you have your Carl before we get on here, George Fox is high, good to see a pre-shate you coming in.
- 50:51[SPEAKER_02]: Anybody else we haven't said hello to yet, U.S. Dave, good to see it, buddy.
- 50:55[SPEAKER_02]: Appreciate you.
- 50:56[SPEAKER_02]: I had Roy come in.
- 50:57[SPEAKER_02]: Biggie, good to see, yeah, Shannon says, Madam Josh Jacobs is a Brock O'Killard.
- 51:01[SPEAKER_02]: I'd be fine.
- 51:02[SPEAKER_02]: Well, see what happens.
- 51:05[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, since essentially the
- 51:10[SPEAKER_01]: window opens up, you know, free agency doesn't open up for a little bit, but Monday is the the tampering period.
- 51:16[SPEAKER_01]: I guess I'll make a prediction here.
- 51:18[SPEAKER_01]: I do think that the Broncos first signing will be a running pack, and I think it will be one of the big names.
- 51:27[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's either Kenneth Walker or Travis C.T.N.
- 51:32[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see.
- 51:33[SPEAKER_02]: It'll be interesting.
- 51:35[SPEAKER_02]: It really does think we're kind of missing that.
- 51:37[SPEAKER_02]: second tier of running backs in this class like love just pretend it doesn't exist.
- 51:43[SPEAKER_02]: Now you're not going to get him, but just like last year, you had Jenkins in that area, Murray and Hampton, not that you know, I was saying take that guy at 20, but 30, maybe a little bit of a different conversation, but just
- 51:55[SPEAKER_02]: that uh... you don't have those guys this year unfortunately just not that crop in my opinion subdued my disagree with price but there's there's always gonna be one or two running backs at pop just like at thirty over all car all i haven't asked yet and put you on the spot there's gonna be a wide receiver available that has the potential to be i'm number one wide receiver and i think pretty darn good odds to be a top thirty player which i work he contract is
- 52:20[SPEAKER_02]: top 30 player in his position, which is, I mean, that's really, really good value.
- 52:26[SPEAKER_02]: Who the hell is it?
- 52:29[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 52:30[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not ready to say that yet.
- 52:33[SPEAKER_02]: I'm also not saying there's going to be a puke in a cua level player that you have to take fifth round or wherever he went, but
- 52:40[SPEAKER_02]: At 30, there's going to be a wide receiver available that's thought of in that, you know, they round one to through, round three range that is probably going to end up being a dude.
- 52:51[SPEAKER_02]: Can you evaluate that guy?
- 52:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, there's some names I really do like there.
- 52:58[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not the biggest Denzel Boston fan, but I get it.
- 53:02[SPEAKER_01]: Casey, conception, I mean,
- 53:06[SPEAKER_01]: I think there's an idea that he could be what you hoped barbing mems would would be his beggar.
- 53:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I think he's a little bit more NFL ready with some of his routes where Oklahoma happens that they run it's not.
- 53:24[SPEAKER_01]: It's just not NFL, like the routes that they're trying to do are not quite what you would hope for, you know, that there's some projection that you've got to make with some of their players on offense, where I think he's a little bit further along.
- 53:36[SPEAKER_01]: Chris Bell, if he's healed up from his injury, Omar Cooper Jr., you know, Bernard from Alabama.
- 53:47[SPEAKER_01]: Part of me, I made this mistake before Justin Jefferson.
- 53:52[SPEAKER_01]: where it wasn't that he was elite at anything, but he was really good at everything.
- 53:58[SPEAKER_01]: In Bernard, there's times where I'm watching him, I'm like, man, I feel the same way that I did about Justin Jefferson when I was watching him.
- 54:04[SPEAKER_01]: And I was completely wrong.
- 54:06[SPEAKER_01]: This guy, he just, he does everything well.
- 54:08[SPEAKER_01]: He's smart.
- 54:09[SPEAKER_01]: You can tell he understands things that other wide receivers don't.
- 54:12[SPEAKER_01]: You're talking about the ability to change gears.
- 54:15[SPEAKER_01]: He does that.
- 54:17[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that maybe he could be a pretty darn good receiver in the NFL now pick 30 maybe I'm not thinking there, but if he's in there in the second round, I probably think about him pretty darn hard.
- 54:32[SPEAKER_02]: A lot of options.
- 54:33[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, so we asked about Lane earlier.
- 54:34[SPEAKER_02]: You didn't mention, did you mention Brasal?
- 54:38[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, no, I didn't even mention him.
- 54:40[SPEAKER_02]: Tennessee, I mean, run and move like that.
- 54:43[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, this is going to be somebody.
- 54:46[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see what happens.
- 54:46[SPEAKER_02]: We got QB easy, Quentin, coming in here, good to see it.
- 54:50[SPEAKER_02]: But that's a Aloha.
- 54:51[SPEAKER_02]: Hello, goodbye, because we got to go.
