- 0:01Hey everybody, welcome to the good morning from the Chicken
- 0:04Coop podcast. My name is Kim Johnson and I am
- 0:07a mastermindset coach, creative strategist, and also happened to
- 0:10be a farmer. This is my chicken coop and I
- 0:12come out here every day to record a podcast to teach
- 0:16distinctions, possibilities, new ways of thinking, and just bring
- 0:20some joy into the world. So welcome to the coop and let's
- 0:23start your day off in a fantastic way.
- 0:27Hey everybody, good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:31It is pouring, pouring, pouring rain.
- 0:33I'm on the porch. I haven't ventured out to let
- 0:36the girls out yet. And this time of year always
- 0:40excites me because we get a lot typically we get a lot of rain,
- 0:44which means things are going to start growing.
- 0:47And which brings me to the point of today.
- 0:50There are sometimes we have the unpleasant conditions in our
- 0:53growth and obviously most people don't like it when it rains.
- 0:57It feels dreary, it feels heavy and damp and wet.
- 1:00And I can say sometimes I feel that way.
- 1:03But when I remember that the unpleasant conditions lead to
- 1:07something extraordinary like feeding the earth and allowing
- 1:12the trees to grow and bud and do all those wonderful things that
- 1:15water does, it gives me a shift in my perspective.
- 1:19So we know water is like life giving, but it's also like
- 1:24taking if used the wrong way or even if we drink too much as
- 1:28human beings, we can actually dilute our the minerals in our
- 1:32body so much that we can end up going into cardiac arrest, which
- 1:35is crazy but true. So we have to look at everything
- 1:40through the lens of where is the happy medium?
- 1:43Where is the happy medium? So it has been raining since
- 1:47yesterday, pouring, pouring, pouring.
- 1:49And there's a lot of water on the ground and we, the rain
- 1:52gardens are full. They're over their edges and
- 1:55it's a lot of water, a lot of water.
- 1:58And I could sit there and say to you, it makes me incredibly
- 2:02frustrated that I know some things may drown when this
- 2:05happens. Like I have some plants that if
- 2:08it stays like keeps raining like this, they're going to go.
- 2:11But I also know I've already lost a ton with the snow and the
- 2:15things that we had. So the point of this whole thing
- 2:19is growth isn't comfortable. It's just not.
- 2:23But when you can remember that there's something on the other
- 2:26side of it, it makes you feel so much better.
- 2:29It gives you so much more to buy into for yourself.
- 2:32So in these uncomfortable situations, I love to just
- 2:35remind myself to sit still, take inventory and remind myself of
- 2:39what good can come from that as much as what is annoying about
- 2:43it. And I know chickens are going to
- 2:45be drenched by the end of the day.
- 2:47I know they were yesterday. They don't care.
- 2:50They just roam around in it anyway.
- 2:51They seem to be impervious to it, which is excellent because
- 2:56it's a good thing they they like and tolerate it.
- 2:58But anyway, today I'm just imparting some wisdom on you to
- 3:02say, look at this. Look at all the good stuff that
- 3:06can come out of the dark stuff as well.
- 3:08The annoying stuff, even the small annoying things.
- 3:11Look at what good things can come out of it and focus on
- 3:15those. All right, my friends, I hope
- 3:17you have a blessed day and I will see you all tomorrow.
- 3:20Bye.
