- 2:58Speaker 1: So let's kick out the lights snuck up with the
- 3:01Speaker 1: loved one, and then the lights lights out everybody as
- 3:07Speaker 1: we go into our story and three two. Our first
- 3:11Speaker 1: story is called the Belwich Haunting. Bellewich Haunting is in Adams,
- 3:18Speaker 1: Tennessee nineteenth century haunting. The bizarre story of the bell
- 3:22Speaker 1: Witch Haunting esc maybe the America's best unknown ghost story.
- 3:30Speaker 1: The story revolves around alleged events that took place and
- 3:35Speaker 1: around the John Bellhome near Adams, Tennessee, a community just
- 3:40Speaker 1: south of Kentucky, south of Kentucky Line northwest of Nashville.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Begin in eighteen seventeen, the Bell family and visitors were
- 3:51Speaker 1: supposed supposedly terrorized by an unexplained stories of supernatural events.
- 3:59Speaker 1: The haunting began when John Bell, who had relodicated to
- 4:04Speaker 1: the area in eighteen oh four, spotted a strange animal
- 4:09Speaker 1: that is said to have looked like a dog with
- 4:12Speaker 1: the head of a rabbit and tried to He tried
- 4:15Speaker 1: to kill it but failed. Then all sorts of chaos
- 4:18Speaker 1: broke out of the Bell home. The nineteen thirteen volume
- 4:23Speaker 1: History of Tennessee and the Tennesseans rised a traditional story
- 4:28Speaker 1: of the haunting. In eighteen seventeen, the family heard and
- 4:33Speaker 1: imagine imagine queer knockings at night on the walls of
- 4:40Speaker 1: the house. Later on disturbances say later disturbances commits within
- 4:50Speaker 1: the house, sounds of rats at the bedposts. Then was
- 4:55Speaker 1: as if dogs were fighting, and then as if chains
- 4:59Speaker 1: dragging over floors. As soon as a cannon was lited
- 5:04Speaker 1: to investigate the disturbance. Noise would cease and the lighted
- 5:09Speaker 1: room while the daughter was in the other room scream
- 5:12Speaker 1: in fright because of similar noises there. The haunting seemed
- 5:16Speaker 1: to be focused on John Bell and his daughter Elizabeth
- 5:20Speaker 1: or Betsy, then a teenager. Numerous stories grew out as
- 5:25Speaker 1: the events of the Bell home, and neighbors reported our
- 5:30Speaker 1: witnessing events there as well as news of haunting spread.
- 5:35Speaker 1: Some people come came from considerable distances to learn more
- 5:40Speaker 1: about the strange incidents, and most of the residents of
- 5:44Speaker 1: the area came convinced that the Bell family was the
- 5:48Speaker 1: focus of the bewitching. Legend holds that even Andrew Jackson
- 5:54Speaker 1: went up there from Nashville to investigate, but despite a
- 5:58Speaker 1: popularity of his claim, no mention of the Bell Witch
- 6:03Speaker 1: or the Bell family appeared in his papers. The Bell
- 6:06Speaker 1: Witch haunting supposedly reached its peak with its mysterious death
- 6:13Speaker 1: John Bell, and it is said to be that he
- 6:17Speaker 1: is he was considering he consumed a poison that no
- 6:23Speaker 1: one knew where it came from. Blaming the witching has
- 6:28Speaker 1: been placed by the tradition on the local women, but
- 6:32Speaker 1: there is no evidence that she was ever reinvolved at all.
- 6:36Speaker 1: In modern terms, the bell Witch haunting is what would
- 6:41Speaker 1: be described as a portugeist incident. Is also worth knowing
- 6:48Speaker 1: that worth noting that a strange similarity to the well
- 6:54Speaker 1: documented Edgefield Ghost in South Carolina. The Edgefield Ghost was
- 7:00Speaker 1: reported in the newspapers in the timeline, while the Bell
- 7:04Speaker 1: Witch story did not receive attention in print until many
- 7:09Speaker 1: years later, with the family member wrote in the incident
- 7:14Speaker 1: of haunting has since become very much a part of
- 7:17Speaker 1: the folklore in the legend of Tennessee and themself. Many
- 7:22Speaker 1: believed that the Bell Witch provided the inspiration of the
- 7:27Speaker 1: hit film The Blair Witch Project, and a family debris
- 7:35Speaker 1: version was also presented a low regraded Hollywood movie American Haunting.
- 7:43Speaker 1: The Bell House no longer stands, but there are several
- 7:47Speaker 1: Bell Witch attractions and around Adams, Tennessee. That's a pretty
- 7:52Speaker 1: awesome story, don't you think. I was looking at that,
- 7:55Speaker 1: and I thought maybe that'd be pretty good to show
- 7:57Speaker 1: you guys. I didn't know it was the maybe it
- 8:00Speaker 1: was a version of but a Witch. I know they
- 8:02Speaker 1: were looking for a witch, but you know they did
- 8:05Speaker 1: a survey on I was watching the game show it's
- 8:10Speaker 1: called bottom Line, and they had the you know, the
- 8:17Speaker 1: most scarious stories, and of course he had n'm ran
- 8:22Speaker 1: now on the Street, number twenty and so on and
- 8:27Speaker 1: so forth. The top three was The Witch Project, the Shining,
- 8:35Speaker 1: but Shining was number one, and I ended up seeing
- 8:38Speaker 1: The Shining the other day and it was pretty good.
- 8:42Speaker 1: But you know, I had a strange Indian you know
- 8:45Speaker 1: that that was a unique Indian where you know, they
- 8:48Speaker 1: show picture and in the end it shows Jack Nicholas's
- 8:54Speaker 1: character in a picture frame and a picture taken in
- 8:59Speaker 1: nineteen twenties or nineteen thirties. It was just weird. But
- 9:05Speaker 1: but yeah, they ranked them, and you know, the Scurious movies.
- 9:11Speaker 1: I was surprising that play which was up there, and
- 9:14Speaker 1: of course they're Shining and Exorcist was number one. Of course,
- 9:21Speaker 1: that was an excellent movie. I recommend watching any of those,
- 9:27Speaker 1: and I've been watching a few myself. Onto our next story.
- 9:32Speaker 1: This story is a black monk won't effect a punt
- 9:38Speaker 1: ifect ghosts. If you were ever to do if you
- 9:42Speaker 1: were ever asked if you believe in ghosts, most people
- 9:45Speaker 1: would answer no. But the truth is is that almost
- 9:50Speaker 1: every culture in the world have some belief in ghosts,
- 9:53Speaker 1: and they have done throughout the history. Recent gallop Pole
- 9:57Speaker 1: indicated more than half of all Americans do believe in
- 10:03Speaker 1: ghost I know I believe in ghost. I know I'm
- 10:06Speaker 1: a hundred forum. I mean pretty much, I'm a magnet form.
- 10:11Speaker 1: But of course it is equally true to say that
- 10:14Speaker 1: the science can provide little evidence to provide the experience
- 10:20Speaker 1: of actual ghost With portuguis activity, however, it is different story,
- 10:27Speaker 1: two different stories, so many ordinary people witnessing the phenomena.
- 10:32Speaker 1: The word cultuguist comes to us from the German language
- 10:38Speaker 1: and is said to mean a restless spirit or a
- 10:42Speaker 1: rickety ghost. This is a very good description of a
- 10:46Speaker 1: poltrguist who makes themselves known by making noise, lots of
- 10:52Speaker 1: noise both day and by night. There has been a
- 10:57Speaker 1: recorded incidence of poltuguise activity since the first century, an
- 11:02Speaker 1: activity that cannot only includes banging, rapping, and also pinching, biting,
- 11:10Speaker 1: and hitting up people in that I found most interesting
- 11:14Speaker 1: of all is the teleportation of salt objects from one
- 11:19Speaker 1: room to the other. Reliable reports have come from the USA,
- 11:25Speaker 1: Great Britain, India, Japan, Brazil, Australia, and New Zealand spiralcis spirit.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Doterlogists tell us that the Portugais activity compressed two components,
- 11:40Speaker 1: one living and one dead. The living element comes from
- 11:45Speaker 1: the energy given up by a young person, usually a girl,
- 11:50Speaker 1: who is going through the difficult changes that curre puberty
- 11:54Speaker 1: and becomes the focus of the activity. But the young
- 11:58Speaker 1: person themselves don't uh a person themselves don't themselves make
- 12:05Speaker 1: the activities happen, In fact, them to be one person
- 12:10Speaker 1: least interest in the events. The first component is a
- 12:14Speaker 1: relativity straightforward idea, but the second element is thought to
- 12:20Speaker 1: be a disembodied spirit, or if you prefer, a ghost
- 12:25Speaker 1: that uses energy to cause mischief. So if you accept
- 12:29Speaker 1: the idea for a moment, it follows that the activity
- 12:33Speaker 1: is the only takes place when the young person is present,
- 12:38Speaker 1: and if carrying on a long time, would gradually fade
- 12:41Speaker 1: as child matures and loses virtrue. Incidentally, in the later
- 12:49Speaker 1: cases these two ideas have provided provided cret Of course,
- 12:54Speaker 1: there's an opposite opposite the point of view dis believers
- 12:59Speaker 1: cutting claim as all in the minds of those involved
- 13:03Speaker 1: in some kind of mischief from mischievous child throwing things
- 13:07Speaker 1: around to attract attention. However, I find so interesting about
- 13:13Speaker 1: what we have come regarded as Pochrguist hauntings is that
- 13:18Speaker 1: we're going all around, are going all around us, and
- 13:22Speaker 1: we're witnessed by hundreds of ordinary people, policemen, tradesmen, both cars,
- 13:28Speaker 1: local councilors, members of the parliament, and even men of
- 13:34Speaker 1: the press, and the TV crews have called it in
- 13:36Speaker 1: the witness of Poltuguist activity. I think they would all
- 13:41Speaker 1: have been easily their I don't think they've been would
- 13:44Speaker 1: be been so easily fooled. And I think that's pretty good.
- 13:49Speaker 1: You know, some of these you know, yeah, you know,
- 13:52Speaker 1: like you says, you know, some you know want to
- 13:55Speaker 1: be you know, knowledged, and you know they you know,
- 14:00Speaker 1: you're not thinking nothing of it, and they think they're
- 14:04Speaker 1: and won't be noticed. But there's a lot of postscal's
- 14:07Speaker 1: activity that you know, things just happened where you know,
- 14:12Speaker 1: things fly up the shelves and you know, in to
- 14:15Speaker 1: touch him when they fall, or you know, things you
- 14:21Speaker 1: move from place to place. And I think that was
- 14:24Speaker 1: a pretty good story. The next one they have is
- 14:29Speaker 1: called the Man who Wrestled with It. Ghosts walking alone
- 14:35Speaker 1: on the path in the woods, a young man hears
- 14:38Speaker 1: a houtine sound, and he realizes he had company of
- 14:42Speaker 1: an owl. As time passed and the man grew tired,
- 14:47Speaker 1: he found an opening in the woods where he would rest.
- 14:50Speaker 1: He built a fire, arranged his blanket on the ground,
- 14:54Speaker 1: and lay down to sleep. In the middle of the night,
- 14:56Speaker 1: the man was wakened by a sound of woman's voice,
- 14:59Speaker 1: called my son, My son. He tore a hole in
- 15:04Speaker 1: the blanket so he could see, and added the woods
- 15:10Speaker 1: to the fire, but he stayed where he was. Soon
- 15:13Speaker 1: here footsteps approaching, and without rising, peered out of the
- 15:17Speaker 1: hole of his blanket and recognized a shape of woman,
- 15:21Speaker 1: one from the olden days, in a leather dress with
- 15:25Speaker 1: long fringe and makings covered in beadward. The woman above
- 15:30Speaker 1: the rope lade around her race and wore a necklace
- 15:34Speaker 1: and mended. The man did not move, and soon the
- 15:37Speaker 1: woman was on the side. She lifted one of his legs,
- 15:41Speaker 1: and then it dropped with a thud, as if he
- 15:44Speaker 1: were dead. She repeated the movement three times and pulled
- 15:49Speaker 1: the knife from her belt, seeming to get prepare to
- 15:51Speaker 1: cut off his foot. He sprang up and shot it
- 15:54Speaker 1: at her, asking what was she doing. Before she could answer,
- 15:58Speaker 1: he shot a trot at her, and she ran into
- 16:02Speaker 1: the forest and was not never seen again. The man
- 16:05Speaker 1: lay down again, but did not sleep, instead remained still
- 16:10Speaker 1: with his eyes closed. At daybreak he opened his eyes.
- 16:15Speaker 1: In front of him was a burial scaffold hung with
- 16:19Speaker 1: torn blanket. The man wondered if the cloth had belonged
- 16:23Speaker 1: to the ghosts he had seen that night. He set
- 16:27Speaker 1: out with his path again. At nightfall he found another
- 16:32Speaker 1: clearing where he could rest, this time after starting a fire.
- 16:36Speaker 1: The man held The man hurd singing and is approached
- 16:40Speaker 1: by the singer, who asked for food. Although the man
- 16:44Speaker 1: said I had ample supplies buffalo meat, while cherries and tobacco,
- 16:50Speaker 1: he had first said he had none, but when the
- 16:53Speaker 1: singer hesitated. When the singer insisted, the man reveland and
- 17:00Speaker 1: shared some of shared some of what he had to
- 17:04Speaker 1: fill his pipe with tobacco on the smoke in. The
- 17:08Speaker 1: stranger took the pipe, and without parting his lips, began
- 17:13Speaker 1: to smoke the beginning. The be end's robes fell open,
- 17:19Speaker 1: and the man saw that his visitor was all bones
- 17:24Speaker 1: without eating flesh, and the smoke from his pipe pour
- 17:27Speaker 1: down down from the ribs. After they finished smoke into
- 17:32Speaker 1: the pipe, the stranger propped and posed the man to wrestle.
- 17:36Speaker 1: It that the man was able to throw the ghost
- 17:39Speaker 1: and he meant the man could kill his energy and
- 17:43Speaker 1: still was instill the still horses. The man agreed, and
- 17:47Speaker 1: after eating brush, adding the brush to the fire to
- 17:51Speaker 1: keep it going, he braced for the ghosts, which rushed
- 17:55Speaker 1: at him. When the two tumbel close to the fire,
- 17:59Speaker 1: the ghost uh grew weak, but when they rode towards
- 18:03Speaker 1: the darkness, the ghosts grew stronger. They struggled back and
- 18:08Speaker 1: forth until daybreak, when the fire blaze suddenly and the
- 18:13Speaker 1: ghost fell the pieces. As they then predicted, the man
- 18:18Speaker 1: was able to kill his energy and still horses. Each
- 18:21Speaker 1: was to say, many people believe in that story? Say
- 18:27Speaker 1: why people believe in that? Ghosts say? That's the unique
- 18:33Speaker 1: story that I've found them here. And I hope you
- 18:36Speaker 1: guys enjoyed it, and I hope everyone's having a wonderful time,
- 18:43Speaker 1: and I hope you enjoyed this time. And again I
- 18:50Speaker 1: ask you to stop at Shop of fy And and
- 18:56Speaker 1: pick up your swag. If you have any stories, contact
- 19:02Speaker 1: me at the Paranormal Ghost Stories at gmail dot com.
- 19:08Speaker 1: And until then I'm working on something very special for Holly.
- 19:13Speaker 1: I hope you guys will enjoy it. Actually, I have
- 19:17Speaker 1: one more here. Throughout the world and down through the history,
- 19:22Speaker 1: what you guys activity has occurs as much of the
- 19:26Speaker 1: more similar consequence consequence and events see hunting always starts
- 19:31Speaker 1: the noises and usually tapping noises quite frequently from the
- 19:37Speaker 1: building up to the loud wrapping and banging. The next
- 19:41Speaker 1: thing to occur as usually small pools of water spontaneously
- 19:47Speaker 1: appearing on the floor and other surfaces around the house.
- 19:52Speaker 1: The strange thing about these pools is what they were
- 19:56Speaker 1: always neat and similarity shaped and never have any splashes.
- 20:03Speaker 1: After this activity can take various forms and it increased
- 20:08Speaker 1: the intensity and develop into real haunting. One of the
- 20:13Speaker 1: most remarkable cases on record was document cases This is
- 20:19Speaker 1: the Black Monk. This is the Black Monk and it
- 20:24Speaker 1: happened in Yorkshire, England, nineteen sixty six. It all began
- 20:32Speaker 1: an ordinary June morning at November number thirty East Drive.
- 20:39Speaker 1: Ponte Partifect pont Effect is a very ancient pre Roman
- 20:44Speaker 1: town in the boasts a very old poory which is
- 20:49Speaker 1: not in ruins and a medieval castle. The town once
- 20:55Speaker 1: had a gallows erected as the customer of that time,
- 21:00Speaker 1: on a crossroad and a small hill. This practice was
- 21:05Speaker 1: through the conversed ghostly spirit of those executed and buried there.
- 21:11Speaker 1: They would not find their way back to return to
- 21:13Speaker 1: the place of their crime to haunt it. The sight
- 21:16Speaker 1: of the pompfact's old gallows, yet later transpired, was right
- 21:22Speaker 1: there Number thirty East Drive now stands that Thursday was
- 21:28Speaker 1: warm as Simmilary and the Pritchard family were all at
- 21:32Speaker 1: home in the Black Garden at number thirty and joined
- 21:35Speaker 1: the sunshine. Joe Pritchard, his wife Jean, and their two
- 21:39Speaker 1: children Philip aged fifteen and dying age thirteen, where some
- 21:44Speaker 1: baying Grand Missus Sarah's shoals had gone indoors out of
- 21:50Speaker 1: the sun, and was sitting on the lounge happily knitting
- 21:54Speaker 1: the carn Again that it was a family in the
- 21:58Speaker 1: garden who noticed the tapping noise first it began, just
- 22:03Speaker 1: just tried to ignore it. However, after a while jos
- 22:07Speaker 1: said young Philip to investigate. Philip tried to follow the noise,
- 22:12Speaker 1: wandered through the kitchen and entered the lounge where he
- 22:15Speaker 1: met the straightness sight missus Shules. His grand was sitting
- 22:21Speaker 1: in a shower of gray white powder or raining gradually
- 22:26Speaker 1: down on her. So absorbed in her nanny that she
- 22:29Speaker 1: didn't notice the power shower until Philip walked in and
- 22:34Speaker 1: made her look up. Once she saw it, she reacted
- 22:38Speaker 1: most grands would with a fifteen year old grandson, Philip.
- 22:42Speaker 1: She accused, what mischief have you been up to now?
- 22:46Speaker 1: But even as she spoke, she raised her She released
- 22:51Speaker 1: her grandson could not be responsible because top over the
- 22:55Speaker 1: room was completely clear, The shadow of powder into four
- 23:02Speaker 1: feet from the ground. When Graham went to the kitchen
- 23:06Speaker 1: to get a dust pan and brush, she found that
- 23:09Speaker 1: the floor was covered in pools of water and the
- 23:12Speaker 1: tappy noises were getting a lot lower. She called her
- 23:16Speaker 1: daughter Jean, and together they mocked the water, only to
- 23:20Speaker 1: find it kept reappearing. They got Joe and Philip to
- 23:24Speaker 1: pull into the linto pull up in litto, thinking the
- 23:28Speaker 1: water would come up through the floor, only to find
- 23:31Speaker 1: the concrete floor was dry as a bone. Joe returned
- 23:36Speaker 1: to the back garden and turn off the water stop stopcock,
- 23:41Speaker 1: noticing as he did that his daughter Diane was talking
- 23:46Speaker 1: absolutely no interests, and quite unusual proceeds going on all
- 23:52Speaker 1: around her. For the rest of the day, pools of
- 23:55Speaker 1: water cat mysteriously appearing at the kitchen, and rapping noise
- 24:01Speaker 1: got louder and louder, even louder. Joe and Philip spent
- 24:06Speaker 1: most of the night trying to track out the rapping noises,
- 24:10Speaker 1: but they always seemed to come from the next room
- 24:13Speaker 1: or somewhere else untraceable. But the next morning Jean had
- 24:19Speaker 1: contacted the local water authority. We spent some time expecting
- 24:24Speaker 1: drains and checking for broken pipes, but all to no avail. Evenly,
- 24:31Speaker 1: they offered the Rather the lame excuse they must have
- 24:35Speaker 1: been consensation, and left the Rather in a hurry. Over
- 24:41Speaker 1: the next few weeks things been almost unbearable for the
- 24:45Speaker 1: Pitcher family. Apart from the noises which were now occurring
- 24:50Speaker 1: mostly a night, objects started to move around the rooms. Ornaments,
- 24:55Speaker 1: flower pots, eggs, and even cups of tea would disappear
- 25:00Speaker 1: and even found later somewhere completely different, more disturbing, still
- 25:05Speaker 1: strange things started appearing. At first was small stones or
- 25:09Speaker 1: pebbles ran down on the kitchen roof, which is well
- 25:14Speaker 1: known and documented Portuguist phenomena. However, one day, while Chain
- 25:20Speaker 1: was cleaning out the kitchen, gray and multitude of old
- 25:23Speaker 1: keys rattled down the chimney, some hidden her in the head.
- 25:28Speaker 1: Collection of included every key in the house, but also
- 25:32Speaker 1: a number of very old keys, and no one ever
- 25:36Speaker 1: seen before from what the haunting encased it from. From
- 25:41Speaker 1: then on, haunting increased to include cropery and pop plants
- 25:51Speaker 1: have been broken in and increased in noise, until the
- 25:56Speaker 1: crack appeared in the bedroom ceiling. Put your lights, which
- 25:59Speaker 1: is themselves, will turn on and off at the wall.
- 26:05Speaker 1: That's usually you know, first find an activity. No one's
- 26:10Speaker 1: playing around the light switch going on and off. Classic
- 26:15Speaker 1: you know, haun team one oh one, and the main
- 26:17Speaker 1: switchboard inside the locked cupboard. And then one night, just
- 26:22Speaker 1: as the volker, who had just come to visit to
- 26:25Speaker 1: offer spiritual comfort, spiritual comfort and guidance was leading that
- 26:31Speaker 1: prize or the prize grinding for the clock, fell from
- 26:35Speaker 1: the landing and smashing the pieces by the front door,
- 26:39Speaker 1: Valker promised to return. He never did. Much of this
- 26:44Speaker 1: activity had been witnessed by policemen, newspapermen, and local members
- 26:49Speaker 1: of parliament. Several priests and whom investigated Piccheards to leave
- 26:54Speaker 1: the house at once, but the Pictchards are stubborn yrk
- 26:58Speaker 1: Shire stopped and steadfastly refused behind to steep foot and
- 27:05Speaker 1: beat the thing. Local newspaperses had this story eventually named
- 27:11Speaker 1: the phenomenon mister Nobody, but the Pritchard family, puzzledly, in
- 27:17Speaker 1: an effort to normalize the situation, gave the entire gave
- 27:22Speaker 1: the entity the name Fred. Although the hunting went on
- 27:27Speaker 1: for a long time, it really came to a climax
- 27:31Speaker 1: when the ghost began to show it so. At the
- 27:34Speaker 1: first it was a tall, dark figure briefly at night
- 27:39Speaker 1: or in a bad light, and Fred but even had
- 27:43Speaker 1: sense of humor. One time, when at the docker's suggestion,
- 27:47Speaker 1: the family had an evening and singing him the religious songs.
- 27:52Speaker 1: An effort to move Fred out of Fred joined in
- 27:56Speaker 1: by making a large pair of fluffy gloves here to
- 28:00Speaker 1: be conducting and singing. The next day, the gloves were
- 28:04Speaker 1: still in the lounge, Lisiaus Shoals picked up them up
- 28:09Speaker 1: with the figure with the fire tongs, took them out
- 28:13Speaker 1: to the back garden and disposed them with popper in
- 28:19Speaker 1: and burnt dout them with pretty much like light or
- 28:24Speaker 1: fluid papferin probably like a pretty much like papper, and
- 28:28Speaker 1: she took him out to them and burnt them. And
- 28:32Speaker 1: then one day the humor stopped and something strange. While
- 28:36Speaker 1: Jeanne was standing at the scene peeling potatoes, suddenly she
- 28:41Speaker 1: encountered later that the hair on the back of my
- 28:44Speaker 1: neck came to stand up, and I knew there was
- 28:48Speaker 1: someone or something behind me. She turned around, finding herself
- 28:53Speaker 1: looking a very tall figure dressed in black monks our habit,
- 29:00Speaker 1: with a crawl covered in his face. The figure looked
- 29:04Speaker 1: quite solid and oddly enough, she felt no alarm or
- 29:08Speaker 1: no fear. Then the monk it has vanished before her
- 29:11Speaker 1: eyes and singing, seemed to sink into the floor. After this,
- 29:16Speaker 1: the family saw the monk and numerous occasions and local
- 29:20Speaker 1: press were prompt to look up an old records library,
- 29:24Speaker 1: and they were They discovered that was a very interesting
- 29:29Speaker 1: It was revealed that the back in the reign of
- 29:32Speaker 1: Henry the Eighth, a monk had been hanged in the
- 29:36Speaker 1: gallows and once stood there at number thirty. The monk
- 29:40Speaker 1: had been found guilty and later executed for rape and
- 29:45Speaker 1: murder of a young girl so that the conclusion was
- 29:49Speaker 1: that the torment spirit of the monk dubbed Black Monk
- 29:53Speaker 1: of Portefect, was still wandering on earth in the sight
- 29:59Speaker 1: of his death. Last serious instant was the case occurred
- 30:03Speaker 1: soon after seemed to confirm everything had been discovered about
- 30:08Speaker 1: the Black Monks from records. Late one evening, as Diane
- 30:13Speaker 1: was going to bed, the lights went out all over
- 30:16Speaker 1: the house and Diane began to scream. When the family
- 30:20Speaker 1: ran to her assistance, they with a torch. They saw
- 30:24Speaker 1: an incredible sight. Diane was being dragged up the stairs
- 30:31Speaker 1: by invisible force. Her cardigan had been stretched out in
- 30:36Speaker 1: front of her and being pulled by pulled by a strong,
- 30:40Speaker 1: unseen hand. She was also seen being held by a
- 30:45Speaker 1: throat as she screamed, soon turned into choking grasps. Her father, mother,
- 30:50Speaker 1: and brother grabbed a hold of Diane pulled. After the
- 30:54Speaker 1: consimable struggle, all four of them fell back down the
- 30:58Speaker 1: stairs as the visible force gave up. Diane had bright
- 31:03Speaker 1: red marks which would later turn into severe bruises on
- 31:07Speaker 1: our throat and in the struggle position. Once they pulled
- 31:12Speaker 1: themselves together, they revived Diane with a large glass. The
- 31:18Speaker 1: revived Diane with large glass of brandy. The family decided
- 31:22Speaker 1: enough was enough and moved out of the house to
- 31:26Speaker 1: stay with relatives. After this, the hauntings, which had occurred
- 31:31Speaker 1: over nine months it away quickly disappeared altogether. We could
- 31:37Speaker 1: we could, we could conjure that with young Diane, who
- 31:42Speaker 1: has obviously seen the focus in this case away from
- 31:46Speaker 1: the house, and the black Monk no longer had any
- 31:50Speaker 1: earthy energy source upright form. Eventually, the Pretcher family went home,
- 31:57Speaker 1: repaired and cracked the art, prepared the crack in the
- 32:02Speaker 1: bedroom ceiling, cut the grass, trim the neglected hedges, and
- 32:08Speaker 1: originally got got on with their lives. Like the good
- 32:12Speaker 1: Yorkshire people they were in the black Monk case, there
- 32:15Speaker 1: were so many other quite ordinary, sensible Yorkshire people who
- 32:20Speaker 1: witnessed the hauntings and number thirty East Drive that is
- 32:26Speaker 1: impossible to dismiss his imagination, trickery or diambian pliment to
- 32:34Speaker 1: attract attention. Similar but less spectacular poultrug Gust activities occurred
- 32:41Speaker 1: all this time and all around would around the world,
- 32:45Speaker 1: but no one could offer any better explanation. That is
- 32:50Speaker 1: just a restless spirit rackety ghost. In fact, at Poultruguist.
- 32:56Speaker 1: There you go, folks. That's that's her stories for today.
