- 0:00Speaker 1: And now move the sticks with Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks.
- 0:08Speaker 1: What's up everybody. Welcome to move the sticks and happy
- 0:11Speaker 1: game week. We we have NFL games coming up within
- 0:15Speaker 1: mere hours here boys, we got right back on the show.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Buck Uh?
- 0:20Speaker 3: I mean, is he wearing Indiana gear? I don't know.
- 0:22Speaker 3: Can you spend? Yeah?
- 0:23Speaker 4: He is?
- 0:24Speaker 3: I thought, so come on fucking to North Carolina gear today? Huh?
- 0:32Speaker 2: Sorry?
- 0:32Speaker 3: Man commuted much like their offense.
- 0:39Speaker 4: We got.
- 0:39Speaker 2: It's a marathon marathon. I mean, Bill.
- 0:44Speaker 1: Belier, it might be a marathon, but that was a
- 0:47Speaker 1: track meet that I watched on TV of the night.
- 0:49Speaker 5: It wasn't It wasn't. It was a track meet. We
- 0:51Speaker 5: haven't had preseason games. There was Week one a preseason
- 0:57Speaker 5: It doesn't it doesn't look like doesn't look like that.
- 0:59Speaker 5: The next week we played Charlotte, did we play Richmond?
- 1:02Speaker 5: So by the time Clemson rose intown? Will you ready
- 1:04Speaker 5: for the regular season?
- 1:05Speaker 6: By the way, TCU football has been going off on
- 1:11Speaker 6: X by the way they responded to a post from
- 1:16Speaker 6: u NC that is announcing that Hulu thing that's going
- 1:19Speaker 6: to be following Belichick and the football team throughout the season.
- 1:23Speaker 6: I guess and TCU football quote posted when's the first
- 1:28Speaker 6: episode dropped? Oh, there's a couple more in there too.
- 1:34Speaker 3: I take it shots, yeah, Buck can I.
- 1:38Speaker 1: By the way, we're gonna do some We're gonna do
- 1:39Speaker 1: some college football today and then we're gonna get to
- 1:41Speaker 1: our rookie draft, our first rookie draft of the year.
- 1:43Speaker 3: So we do that every year. We pick some rookies.
- 1:46Speaker 3: We keep track of the totals.
- 1:48Speaker 1: It's like basically fantasy football, just for rookies, and we
- 1:50Speaker 1: do this every week and we tallied up as we
- 1:52Speaker 1: go throughout the year. So we'll get to that in
- 1:53Speaker 1: just a little bit. But on the college football side
- 1:56Speaker 1: of things, Buck, we're going to move on from Carolina soon,
- 1:58Speaker 1: so you'll be out of your misery. But I did
- 2:00Speaker 1: have one thought that I wanted to get your take on.
- 2:04Speaker 1: And rhet hop in here too. Is someone who's meeting
- 2:06Speaker 1: with coaches all the time doing the stuff you're doing
- 2:08Speaker 1: for the Big Ten network. I hear all the time,
- 2:11Speaker 1: and it was even and even I talked to Clad
- 2:12Speaker 1: about it a little bit, because you know, Matt Patricia, there
- 2:16Speaker 1: was a lot of NFL to that defense at Ohio
- 2:18Speaker 1: State running and we think about the complexity of a
- 2:22Speaker 1: NFL defense. And we talk all the time when NFL
- 2:25Speaker 1: guys come to college how complex it is, But Buck,
- 2:28Speaker 1: what I don't hear is what a challenge it is
- 2:31Speaker 1: when you think about the diversity of offenses in college
- 2:35Speaker 1: that you don't see in the NFL. Like there's more
- 2:39Speaker 1: stuff to prepare for in a college game defensively than
- 2:42Speaker 1: for an NFL game.
- 2:43Speaker 3: And there's literally.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Like it's like a Petri dish, like they're experimenting on
- 2:47Speaker 1: a weekly basis at the college level.
- 2:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:50Speaker 5: No, I think the thing for an NFL guy, and
- 2:53Speaker 5: I'll say for Belichick in particular, is someone who loves
- 2:56Speaker 5: to kind of mix and matches coverages based on the
- 2:59Speaker 5: opponent each week week. You don't have enough time to
- 3:02Speaker 5: have a large playbook. You just don't have enough time
- 3:05Speaker 5: to get good at being able to play cover four,
- 3:07Speaker 5: cover three, cover two, match coverage, all these other things
- 3:11Speaker 5: that you've been able to do in the pros. And
- 3:13Speaker 5: you also don't have the depth of knowledge amongst the.
- 3:17Speaker 2: Players to be able to do it.
- 3:18Speaker 5: So you think about those great New England teams that
- 3:20Speaker 5: had the veteran players that could finish each other's sentences,
- 3:23Speaker 5: and that it played for a long time. When you
- 3:25Speaker 5: have a Rodney Harrison and Willie McGinnis and say out
- 3:28Speaker 5: when all these guys that have played for a long time,
- 3:30Speaker 5: you can do some things on the flot. What you
- 3:32Speaker 5: can do with college guys, particularly transfer porter guys, is
- 3:36Speaker 5: everyone has a different level of experience and expertise, so
- 3:39Speaker 5: you kind of have to piece mill it. I will say,
- 3:41Speaker 5: getting off Belichick and talking about Patricia, what he did
- 3:44Speaker 5: against Texas was nothing short of brilliant.
- 3:48Speaker 2: And the trick though, is he had a lot of
- 3:51Speaker 2: time to prepare for Texas.
- 3:52Speaker 5: What is that like when now you have a week turnaround,
- 3:56Speaker 5: like you go Oregon, Den, Penn State or whatever. But
- 3:58Speaker 5: against Texas he had the entire offseason, preseason to put
- 4:02Speaker 5: in a game plan for Arch Manning and the Longborns.
- 4:05Speaker 6: Yeah, I would say that's your You're spot on there
- 4:09Speaker 6: as well.
- 4:10Speaker 4: The thing that I've noticed is how.
- 4:15Speaker 6: How teams will adapt to star players, right, I mean,
- 4:20Speaker 6: like it was it was clear, you know when I
- 4:24Speaker 6: was doing this USC you know, Missouri State game, and
- 4:26Speaker 6: then look, when you get a different.
- 4:27Speaker 4: Level of competition, it's a little bit tough to gauge.
- 4:30Speaker 6: Too, but you know, they are so worried about getting
- 4:34Speaker 6: beat on chunk plays, right, especially with guys like Jakobe
- 4:37Speaker 6: Lane and Makay Lemon, who you know, Missouri State had
- 4:40Speaker 6: the misfortune of dealing with in this game.
- 4:42Speaker 4: It's like they they wanted to play.
- 4:44Speaker 6: As much cover for as they possibly could too over
- 4:47Speaker 6: the top and let's just keep everything in front of
- 4:50Speaker 6: us as much as possible, which allowed, you know, sc
- 4:53Speaker 6: to run the heck out of the football. One thing
- 4:55Speaker 6: I've been following is our next week. This week's game
- 4:58Speaker 6: for US is Penn State. Penn State is dealing with
- 5:02Speaker 6: a lot of five down fronts, which you know is
- 5:06Speaker 6: something I don't know that we talk about a ton, right,
- 5:09Speaker 6: And I think in college, you know, we see a
- 5:11Speaker 6: ton of the four two five stuff, right, We're starting
- 5:13Speaker 6: to see a little bit more that three three five.
- 5:16Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 5:17Speaker 6: Well, but with you know, Kate tron Allen and Nick
- 5:20Speaker 6: Singleton and that you know, potent run game of Penn State,
- 5:24Speaker 6: really good offensive line by the way, they feel like
- 5:26Speaker 6: they have ten starter caliber players on their team in
- 5:30Speaker 6: terms of offensive lineman. They're seeing a bunch of five
- 5:32Speaker 6: down fronts to try to slow things down in the
- 5:35Speaker 6: run game. So yeah, I think, you know, some of
- 5:37Speaker 6: those trends are always interesting to see develop in the
- 5:41Speaker 6: college ranks and then make their way to the lead.
- 5:43Speaker 5: I think what's interesting about the five man fronts. That's
- 5:45Speaker 5: been a thing the last couple of years. In fact,
- 5:48Speaker 5: Illinois was really heavy with the bear front when Bill
- 5:52Speaker 5: mud just came over from the Giants or Patriots and
- 5:55Speaker 5: Giants or whatever, and he brought some of that and
- 5:58Speaker 5: part of the advantages of the down front as you
- 6:00Speaker 5: create one on one matchups all across the board, and
- 6:03Speaker 5: so when you have that five oh look and you
- 6:05Speaker 5: get man o man protection, if you start adding some
- 6:08Speaker 5: games inside those three man games with the two tackles
- 6:11Speaker 5: in the nose, it's very advantageous and we're seeing it
- 6:15Speaker 5: even at the pro level.
- 6:17Speaker 2: The penny front is what people are calling it.
- 6:19Speaker 5: Like even Brandon Staley and those guys were using those
- 6:22Speaker 5: things to clog up the run game but also give
- 6:26Speaker 5: you some of these soft coverage in the past. So
- 6:29Speaker 5: it's been a very effective thing. So it's some of
- 6:30Speaker 5: the trickle down trickle up the factor that you have
- 6:33Speaker 5: when you have coaches that are kind of living in
- 6:35Speaker 5: both worlds.
- 6:37Speaker 1: On the arch manning stuff like we'll get into that buck.
- 6:41Speaker 1: But the you know, I didn't I do that first
- 6:44Speaker 1: look series over the summer, and he was on the
- 6:47Speaker 1: list that he was the last one I had to do,
- 6:49Speaker 1: and I didn't end up doing him. I just didn't
- 6:51Speaker 1: feel I had enough good tape that I wanted to
- 6:56Speaker 1: put a strong opinion out there one way or the other.
- 6:59Speaker 1: I just it was income and I just hadn't seen enough,
- 7:01Speaker 1: and I thought it would be unfair to do it.
- 7:03Speaker 1: So I was curious. I wanted to see what it
- 7:04Speaker 1: looked like. Now you mentioned Patricia a beautiful game plan.
- 7:07Speaker 1: I couldn't help but watch but think while watching that
- 7:10Speaker 1: game of Peyton's struggles against Belichick and thinking like, this
- 7:13Speaker 1: is a derivative of that, Like he looked down the
- 7:16Speaker 1: family tree really for both with Patricia, his ties obviously
- 7:19Speaker 1: a connection to Belichick. So that was kind of going
- 7:22Speaker 1: through my mind. And all the pictures changing. I didn't
- 7:24Speaker 1: think he really trusted his eyes at all. But I'm
- 7:27Speaker 1: curious to see and I'm not making excuses for him.
- 7:30Speaker 3: Every time.
- 7:30Speaker 1: You guys notice every time they showed him on the sideline,
- 7:33Speaker 1: how he was just like adjusting his shoulders the whole time,
- 7:36Speaker 1: and everything, I'm like, is this dude hurt?
- 7:38Speaker 4: Like?
- 7:38Speaker 3: Is this something?
- 7:39Speaker 1: And then like some of the unnatural armslots he was
- 7:43Speaker 1: thrown from which looks so easy this summer, that was
- 7:46Speaker 1: weird looking. Yeah, I mean even the first play where
- 7:49Speaker 1: they're on the move, he looks so rigid and tight
- 7:51Speaker 1: and stiff and misses a throw by ten yards and
- 7:55Speaker 1: you know, so anyways, I'm not going to read too
- 7:57Speaker 1: much into it. I know everybody that's going to be
- 7:58Speaker 1: a fun fodder for everybody to, you know, take their
- 8:01Speaker 1: shots and do this out or the other. But I
- 8:03Speaker 1: didn't see enough to go strong on them before the
- 8:06Speaker 1: season started. I'm not going to bury him off of
- 8:07Speaker 1: one start. But my takeaway was two things. I don't
- 8:11Speaker 1: think he trusted his eyes and that was Patricia's doing.
- 8:14Speaker 1: And then I just didn't That didn't look right, man.
- 8:18Speaker 2: No, it didn't look right. And it's unfortunate for him.
- 8:22Speaker 5: And I'm gonna say this, like he can't control the
- 8:25Speaker 5: hype machine that is around him. Right when you have
- 8:28Speaker 5: that last name and you have the success that the
- 8:30Speaker 5: family has had at quarterback, naturally he has been put
- 8:33Speaker 5: on a pedestal before he's even really played a game.
- 8:36Speaker 2: And it's not fair.
- 8:37Speaker 5: But in our business, when it's about the clicks and eyeballs,
- 8:41Speaker 5: it's easy to sell him as what we were selling
- 8:44Speaker 5: them prior to the game. It's unfortunate, though, that a
- 8:47Speaker 5: guy that came into the game with ninety five career
- 8:48Speaker 5: pass attempts was expected to be like a number one
- 8:52Speaker 5: type pick right out the gate. And no one there
- 8:56Speaker 5: has never been a quarterback that has taken the league
- 8:58Speaker 5: by stormer or the football war roll by storm without experience.
- 9:02Speaker 5: And so the long play on this is, let's see
- 9:06Speaker 5: how he continues to get better at these marketing points.
- 9:08Speaker 5: What does he look like midseason? What does he look
- 9:10Speaker 5: like end of season? What does he look like in
- 9:12Speaker 5: the postseason. The one thing that I have a lot
- 9:14Speaker 5: of trust and belief in one, he's gonna work his
- 9:16Speaker 5: tail off, but two so I can figure it out.
- 9:19Speaker 5: He'll figure out whether they need to lean more into
- 9:21Speaker 5: Manning or more into the running game, but he'll make
- 9:24Speaker 5: it where this offense rolls and arch Manning will end
- 9:27Speaker 5: up looking good.
- 9:28Speaker 6: Regardless, I would say that there is no one more
- 9:32Speaker 6: equipped to deal with all of the not meeting the hype,
- 9:40Speaker 6: not meeting expectation, not the next Manning type of conversation
- 9:45Speaker 6: than arch Manning just being around in like he just.
- 9:50Speaker 4: Doesn't care about that stuff.
- 9:53Speaker 6: Like he cares about his teammates, he loves Paul, he
- 9:55Speaker 6: cares about being, you know, a student at the.
- 9:57Speaker 4: University of Texas. Like there's just.
- 10:01Speaker 6: He's going to be fine from a mental standpoint, like
- 10:04Speaker 6: in dealing with all the stuff that's happening now, right
- 10:07Speaker 6: just as he was with all the stuff that was
- 10:08Speaker 6: happening before. Now he needs to play them all the stuff,
- 10:12Speaker 6: the mechanical stuff that you know we saw out there
- 10:15Speaker 6: that looked just a little bit off.
- 10:17Speaker 4: Now again watching him this summer, you know, I was.
- 10:20Speaker 6: Like that, that looks totally different. Didn't see it now,
- 10:24Speaker 6: Sure you got guys in your face. It's a lot
- 10:26Speaker 6: different than throwing shorts and T shirts. I think that's
- 10:28Speaker 6: that's obviously a lesson for all of us as well.
- 10:30Speaker 6: But he looked really good mechanically when when I caught
- 10:33Speaker 6: up with him this summer, I know there was some actual,
- 10:37Speaker 6: you know, reality to the conversation that it was a
- 10:40Speaker 6: tough camp. It was a tough camp for by the way,
- 10:43Speaker 6: Texans a pretty dang good defense too. Now, Like so
- 10:46Speaker 6: I think going up against those guys you know for
- 10:49Speaker 6: three four weeks leading into this game, you know, was
- 10:53Speaker 6: was was probably pretty difficult too, Probably not as difficult
- 10:57Speaker 6: as dealing with what he saw in the Horseshoe on Saturday.
- 11:00Speaker 6: But again, like you said, DJ, not ready to you know,
- 11:04Speaker 6: none of us here we're talking about this kid as
- 11:07Speaker 6: being the number one pick because none of us really
- 11:09Speaker 6: believe he's actually.
- 11:10Speaker 4: Going to come out in this year's draft.
- 11:12Speaker 6: So like, why would we why would we say now
- 11:14Speaker 6: he's not going to after one game, Like, let's let's
- 11:17Speaker 6: give it some time. I can only imagine how difficult
- 11:20Speaker 6: it was, Like seeing a Matt Patricia defense in Week
- 11:24Speaker 6: ten was going to be difficult for any player, in
- 11:28Speaker 6: any quarterback, especially one in his first year starting seeing
- 11:31Speaker 6: a week one with no college tape to actually assess
- 11:35Speaker 6: what that was going to look like. Immeasurably difficult. Now
- 11:39Speaker 6: he's going to have to deal with those situations better.
- 11:42Speaker 6: But I still thought, you know, like the touchdown throw
- 11:44Speaker 6: was more along the lines of what you would expect
- 11:48Speaker 6: from him. But yeah, the one hopper, you know, five
- 11:51Speaker 6: yards in front of the intended receiver on the first
- 11:53Speaker 6: attempt was like, look, weird and look, I bet it
- 11:57Speaker 6: was a little uncomfortable in a lot of ways. Like,
- 12:00Speaker 6: I bet it felt a little bit different, you know,
- 12:02Speaker 6: on game day. So let's let's see what it looks
- 12:05Speaker 6: like here we two before we get crazy.
- 12:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I will say this on you know, as we
- 12:09Speaker 1: go outside that game, watching the guys over the summer,
- 12:12Speaker 1: and we all talked about this, but I, you know,
- 12:14Speaker 1: going to the tape of these other three quarterbacks, I
- 12:17Speaker 1: thought it was clear, the clear lines between them. It
- 12:22Speaker 1: was Leonora's Sellers, it was then nus Meyer. The gap
- 12:27Speaker 1: a pretty good gap. Then nus Meyer, then club Nick
- 12:30Speaker 1: like was kind of a distant third from me. And again,
- 12:33Speaker 1: not going to overreact on the good side of this
- 12:34Speaker 1: thing either, Buck, but Laura Sellers is a grown freaking
- 12:37Speaker 1: man now, And that that's what you think of when
- 12:40Speaker 1: you think of a top tier prospect, someone who has
- 12:42Speaker 1: the traits and tools you can dream on, and then
- 12:45Speaker 1: obviously the stuff we have relationships and you find out
- 12:47Speaker 1: that he's incredibly intelligent and incredibly hard working and a
- 12:50Speaker 1: good teammate and all that stuff checks out. That was
- 12:53Speaker 1: a good first uh first key ball game for him,
- 12:55Speaker 1: And I thought Nussmeyer clearly outplayed played club.
- 12:58Speaker 4: Nick.
- 12:58Speaker 3: I thought that slot that order thing exactly the same.
- 13:02Speaker 5: Yeah, No, I think the thing about like Leonoris Sellers,
- 13:05Speaker 5: And we've talked about this when it comes to evaluating
- 13:07Speaker 5: quarterbacks and those things, and some people will kind of
- 13:10Speaker 5: point out, oh, what about Anthony Richardson the tools matter
- 13:14Speaker 5: at the top of the board, like, because what we're
- 13:16Speaker 5: doing at the top of the draft is you should
- 13:19Speaker 5: be envisioning this quarterback competing.
- 13:22Speaker 2: With the likes of the Mount Rushmore.
- 13:24Speaker 5: What does he look like versus Pat Mahomes, Josh Allen,
- 13:27Speaker 5: Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow if we're getting a shootout, does
- 13:29Speaker 5: he have the tools to have a legitimate chance to
- 13:33Speaker 5: compete in that regard? And so when you look at
- 13:35Speaker 5: Lenora's Sellers and you talk about superpowers, how many superpowers?
- 13:39Speaker 5: How many tools does he have on the tool belt
- 13:41Speaker 5: when we get into these shootouts, Leonora Sellers has that
- 13:44Speaker 5: do some of these other quarterbacks possess those kinds of
- 13:47Speaker 5: skills and tools and capabilities as we're projecting what they
- 13:51Speaker 5: could look like at the next level.
- 13:55Speaker 6: Yeah, you know, I thought, you know, Leonora's Sellers was
- 13:58Speaker 6: as advertised as you.
- 13:59Speaker 4: Guys mentioned but Garrettsmeyer, I mean, what was the thing.
- 14:03Speaker 6: You remember what I told you when I watched him
- 14:05Speaker 6: in person, DJ was right around the time that you
- 14:07Speaker 6: were you were going through your series.
- 14:10Speaker 3: This dude is everybody gravitates toward him with that too.
- 14:13Speaker 6: And he is a technician, right like, he is fundamentally sound.
- 14:17Speaker 6: He is a coaches kid. He is going to have
- 14:20Speaker 6: everything buttoned up on that front. And that's what that
- 14:23Speaker 6: looked like to me, a guy that was not going
- 14:25Speaker 6: to let the atmosphere there the.
- 14:27Speaker 4: Other death Valley.
- 14:28Speaker 6: You know, the fact that Club Nick's on the other
- 14:30Speaker 6: side affect who he is and who he wants to
- 14:32Speaker 6: be and the way he wants to play. That was
- 14:35Speaker 6: just really really impressive to me, the way he handled
- 14:38Speaker 6: all of that. And Yeah, I think I think that's
- 14:42Speaker 6: one thing that this game did prove to us that
- 14:44Speaker 6: that I kind of felt in the summer was that
- 14:46Speaker 6: I'd have No Smyer ahead of Club Nick at this point.
- 14:49Speaker 3: Yeah, I thought that was pretty clear.
- 14:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, look, I think that that is good.
- 14:54Speaker 2: I think the only thing that.
- 14:55Speaker 5: People have to get used to with Nusmyer is just like,
- 14:58Speaker 5: because people will talk about the size thing and it
- 15:00Speaker 5: is Yeah, it hasn't been as much of a factor
- 15:03Speaker 5: of late because we've seen look, Bryce Young win number
- 15:06Speaker 5: one overall, and I'm not saying that Nuts is in
- 15:07Speaker 5: that category, but we've kind of gone away from like
- 15:10Speaker 5: the physical statue being a big part of it. But
- 15:13Speaker 5: there's no doubt Mannusmyers spends it. And I think when
- 15:16Speaker 5: I wrote a report about him in the summer's just
- 15:18Speaker 5: talking about a guy who operates with a gunslinger's mentality
- 15:21Speaker 5: but has surgical precision, Like he has that ability to
- 15:24Speaker 5: kind of play the game on an off script, but
- 15:27Speaker 5: he can deliver dime after dime after diamond. I'll say
- 15:30Speaker 5: this wasn't even a vintage game for him. We'll see
- 15:32Speaker 5: better games that kind of put a stamp on what
- 15:35Speaker 5: he could be at the next level. It was a
- 15:37Speaker 5: nice start. And then for Glum, like the thing about
- 15:41Speaker 5: like Clemson in their passing game and him always felt
- 15:44Speaker 5: like he was solid. But to me, he still feels
- 15:47Speaker 5: more like a point guard than a scoring guard. He
- 15:51Speaker 5: can operate the machinery and do the stuff. I don't
- 15:54Speaker 5: know if he has a take over the game potential
- 15:58Speaker 5: take over the game traits. And when we're talking about quarterbacks,
- 16:02Speaker 5: at the top. Normally they exhibit those traits where they
- 16:05Speaker 5: can take over the game and kind of put the
- 16:06Speaker 5: team on their back with their talents.
- 16:09Speaker 2: Uh just pulled it up.
- 16:10Speaker 1: By the way, neuss Meyer in the spring officially measured
- 16:13Speaker 1: six oh five two oh four. So yeah, I mean
- 16:18Speaker 1: buck to the to the size argument there not, you know,
- 16:21Speaker 1: not the biggest guy in the world there. But I
- 16:23Speaker 1: think he he's efficient, he's accurate, he's tough, he's smart,
- 16:26Speaker 1: all that stuff. He checks a lot of those boxes.
- 16:29Speaker 1: And they're gonna play a lot of meaningful games. LSU
- 16:31Speaker 1: is gonna be good. If their defense is just solid,
- 16:35Speaker 1: they're gonna they're gonna be in some very big stage
- 16:37Speaker 1: games and he'll have a chance to, uh to really
- 16:40Speaker 1: make a name for himself there. So anyways, that was
- 16:42Speaker 1: my kind of college football thoughts. Boys, Let's let's take
- 16:44Speaker 1: a quick pause. Let's come back. Let's knock out this
- 16:46Speaker 1: rookie draft, which, by the way, I'm being told I
- 16:48Speaker 1: have the first pick. I'll tell you why right after this.
- 16:55Speaker 1: So I guess Commissioner Gavin just uh lobbing me the
- 16:59Speaker 1: first pick. Here the way this the way this works.
- 17:02Speaker 1: We normally will do a quarterback, a you know, pass catcher,
- 17:06Speaker 1: be it, a tight end, a receiver, and a running back. Well,
- 17:08Speaker 1: we don't have enough Ricky quarterbacks at this point in
- 17:10Speaker 1: time of the season to incorporate them into Ricky draft.
- 17:12Speaker 1: So we're gonna just go one tight end, one receiver,
- 17:16Speaker 1: one running back. All right, you got to fill those
- 17:18Speaker 1: three slots. I'm gonna go ahead and kick us off here.
- 17:22Speaker 1: I'm gonna go ahead and take my running back.
- 17:25Speaker 5: Running back, one receiver. That's that's okay, one tight end. Good,
- 17:29Speaker 5: three guys. There's enough tight ends. There's good tight ends
- 17:31Speaker 5: to go around. Are they attempted to go to the tight
- 17:33Speaker 5: end with my first pick?
- 17:35Speaker 2: Yeah? No, you're not like you.
- 17:39Speaker 3: I won't.
- 17:40Speaker 1: All right, my my my first pick. I'm going to
- 17:43Speaker 1: go volume here, and I'm going to go asking gent
- 17:47Speaker 1: the first peck that they're going to try and get
- 17:48Speaker 1: him loose a little bit in this opener. So, uh, Buck,
- 17:51Speaker 1: I'm being told you, uh yeah, Bucky has a second pick.
- 17:54Speaker 2: Go ahead, Buck, Oh okay, what else? That's cool.
- 17:57Speaker 5: I appreciate the second pick, but uh, I'm struggling. So
- 18:00Speaker 5: I am going to take give me t mac give
- 18:05Speaker 5: me Ted McMillan because he's gonna be the number one
- 18:08Speaker 5: receiver for the Carolina Panthers.
- 18:09Speaker 2: And that's tough because going against my Jaguars. But I'm
- 18:11Speaker 2: going with t Mac.
- 18:12Speaker 1: I'm gonna say that's gonna be the number one receiver.
- 18:14Speaker 1: It was a little little uh there.
- 18:17Speaker 3: We'll see. We'll see after one week.
- 18:18Speaker 4: Boy looks like, yeah, give me Tyler Warren. Boys, let me.
- 18:22Speaker 3: Just go over over Loveland.
- 18:24Speaker 4: Huh over Loveland. Indeed, indeed, give me Tyler.
- 18:27Speaker 3: Warren and you get to you get to go twice here, get.
- 18:30Speaker 4: To go twice. So give me Marion Hampton.
- 18:33Speaker 5: That was like that, that's easy. That means I don't
- 18:36Speaker 5: have to worry about dad. So didn't give me Coaston
- 18:39Speaker 5: Loveland at tight end. It'll be my tight end.
- 18:43Speaker 3: Killing me.
- 18:44Speaker 2: How about killing you?
- 18:46Speaker 4: You could have picked him.
- 18:47Speaker 3: For Chrisas No.
- 18:48Speaker 1: I got gent, but I was hoping that Loveland would
- 18:50Speaker 1: make it back to me. I gotta go, So I
- 18:52Speaker 1: gotta go with the tight end and a receiver here. Yep,
- 18:56Speaker 1: So I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go Elijah Royo with
- 19:01Speaker 1: my with my pick.
- 19:03Speaker 4: Wow.
- 19:04Speaker 5: Wow, Wow, that's what we're doing.
- 19:10Speaker 1: I'm gonna do that and then uh let's go with
- 19:14Speaker 1: the wide receiver of choice here. Oh, I'm gonna give
- 19:17Speaker 1: me a Mecca BOOKA. That's gonna be He's polished, ready
- 19:20Speaker 1: to go.
- 19:21Speaker 4: That's a good one.
- 19:23Speaker 3: So Buck, you got your last pick here.
- 19:25Speaker 2: Let's go Travian Henderson.
- 19:27Speaker 4: Oh, good one.
- 19:28Speaker 2: Yeah, that's right.
- 19:31Speaker 1: Wet almost have a little tinge of regret in your.
- 19:36Speaker 5: Networks, Lewis attention to the roster.
- 19:41Speaker 4: Let's go Matthew Golden.
- 19:43Speaker 3: Ah, all right, I just.
- 19:45Speaker 5: Wanted to know that I'm officially mad at Matthew Golden.
- 19:48Speaker 5: Matthew Golden, Yeah.
- 19:50Speaker 3: Shed the double deuce. He was going with the double duce.
- 19:53Speaker 2: He she had my number.
- 19:54Speaker 5: I know he's wearing that for me to go to zero.
- 19:56Speaker 5: I don't really appreciate that. I wish I like.
- 20:00Speaker 2: I like the double deuce.
- 20:01Speaker 3: What a great number? Book all right, So here it is.
- 20:04Speaker 1: I've got Ash and Genty, I've got Elijah Royo surprise
- 20:07Speaker 1: pick of the draft, and a Mecca Buca. Bucky is
- 20:11Speaker 1: rolling out tedaroa he does not like Teed Colston Loveland,
- 20:16Speaker 1: Travon Henderson, a pick that Rhett was a little envious of.
- 20:18Speaker 1: Rhett rolls out Tyler Warren and Marion Hampton and Matthew Golden.
- 20:22Speaker 1: Three guys. Gosh, I had high grades on all three
- 20:24Speaker 1: of those guys. If I was giving out like the
- 20:26Speaker 1: draft grades based off of my pre draft grades, well.
- 20:31Speaker 3: There we go. There's a little rookie draft for you.
- 20:33Speaker 4: So you're doing this like this.
- 20:35Speaker 6: If these if these tight ends stay active like it's
- 20:38Speaker 6: I'll get.
- 20:38Speaker 3: Some new tight end names. I think some of these
- 20:39Speaker 3: receivers are gonna end up popping. Yeah, I need a
- 20:42Speaker 3: Tory Horton pick at some.
- 20:44Speaker 4: Times, but I was like, let's not. Let's not go crazy.
- 20:48Speaker 1: I mean, I don't think I don't think I could
- 20:49Speaker 1: go with a Royo and Tory Horton is fourth and
- 20:53Speaker 1: fifth options on this team.
- 20:54Speaker 3: I don't think I can do that at this point
- 20:56Speaker 3: in time.
- 20:57Speaker 1: All Right, this was a fun one. We've got a
- 20:59Speaker 1: little college talk in there. I got a rookie draft.
- 21:01Speaker 1: We have a few more episodes coming up this week.
- 21:04Speaker 1: We're going to preview these games. We've got two huge
- 21:06Speaker 1: games Thursday Friday Dallas Philly Casey Chargers. We will preview
- 21:10Speaker 1: that on the next episode, and then we'll have a
- 21:12Speaker 1: little Week one look ahead as well later on in
- 21:15Speaker 1: the week.
- 21:16Speaker 3: So we appreciate you. Guys.
- 21:17Speaker 1: Again, a little bit shorter episode today, but we want
- 21:20Speaker 1: you to be able to get that.
- 21:21Speaker 3: You know, this is not a three mile run podcast today.
- 21:24Speaker 3: This is it's just too a comfortable movie.
- 21:27Speaker 1: Well yeah, not manny, all right, we'll see you next time,
- 21:30Speaker 1: right here on with the sticks
