- Lucas: Bienvenidos, bienvenidos. Welcome back to Learn Spanish with Fexingo. I'm Lucas, and I'm here with the wonderful Luna. Luna: Hey hey! Happy to be here. Episode 18 — can you believe it? Lucas: I know. We've come a long way. From greetings to numbers to family members and weather. Today, we're adding color to our Spanish world. Luna: Ooh, colors! I love colors. Is it just like the rainbow? Lucas: Exactly. We'll start with four basics. Ready to dive in? Luna: Ready! Lucas: Okay. First color: rojo. R-O-J-O. Rojo. Luna: Rojo. Lucas: Perfect. And rojo means red. Luna: Red. Like a red apple. Lucas: Just like that. So, rojo. Luna: Rojo. Lucas: Great. Now, second color: azul. A-Z-U-L. Azul. Luna: Azul. Lucas: Yeah. Azul means blue. Luna: Azul. Blue. Like the sky? Lucas: Exactly. El cielo es azul. The sky is blue. Luna: El cielo es azul. Lucas: You're catching on. Now, third color: verde. V-E-R-D-E. Verde. Luna: Verde. Lucas: Yes. Verde means green. Luna: Green. Like grass, right? Lucas: Right. La hierba es verde. The grass is green. Luna: La hierba es verde. Lucas: Beautiful. And finally, fourth color: amarillo. A-M-A-R-I-L-L-O. Amarillo. Luna: Amari-llo. Amarillo. Lucas: Yes. Amarillo means yellow. Luna: Yellow. Like a lemon. Lucas: Or the sun. El sol es amarillo. So let's review: rojo, azul, verde, amarillo. Luna: Rojo, azul, verde, amarillo. Lucas: You've got them. Now let's make a tiny sentence. Remember numbers from episode 10? Luna: Uno, dos, tres, cuatro, cinco. Lucas: Great. So let's say: uno — rojo. One red. Luna: Uno rojo. Lucas: Dos azul. Luna: Dos azul. Lucas: Tres verde. Luna: Tres verde. Lucas: Cuatro amarillo. Luna: Cuatro amarillo. Lucas: And cinco? Let's see... cinco can be rojo again. Luna: Cinco rojo. Lucas: Excellent. So you just said 'one red, two blue, three green, four yellow, five red.' Luna: Oh, that's cool! I made a rainbow with numbers! Lucas: You did. Now let's add a family member from episode 14. Remember madre? Luna: Madre means mom. Lucas: Right. So: La madre tiene un coche rojo. The mom has a red car. Luna: La madre tiene un coche rojo. Lucas: Nice. And padre? Father. Luna: Padre. Lucas: El padre tiene un coche azul. The father has a blue car. Luna: El padre tiene un coche azul. Lucas: Perfect. You're combining colors with family and numbers. Let's do a quick practice. I'll say the color in English, you say it in Spanish. Ready? Luna: Let's go. Lucas: Red. Luna: Rojo. Lucas: Blue. Luna: Azul. Lucas: Green. Luna: Verde. Lucas: Yellow. Luna: Amarillo. Lucas: Excellent. You're a natural. Luna: Thanks! It's actually sticking. The repetition helps. Lucas: That's the Fexingo way. We say it, you say it, we say it again. And before you know it, it's yours. Luna: I can already feel it. So rojo, azul, verde, amarillo. Lucas: And don't forget, you can use them with things you already know. Like pan. Bread. Pan blanco? No, hoy pan... what color? Luna: Uh... pan amarillo? Lucas: Sure, why not? A yellow bread. Or agua azul? Blue water? Luna: That sounds magical. Lucas: Exactly. You can be creative. The point is to practice. Luna: Okay, let me try a full sentence. Quiero un coche verde. I want a green car. Lucas: Oh, nice! Quiero un coche verde. Perfect use of 'quiero' from earlier episodes. Luna: And I also want... una casa azul. A blue house. Lucas: Una casa azul. I love it. You're building worlds with color. Luna: It's fun. So let's review one more time: rojo, azul, verde, amarillo. Lucas: Yes. And remember, rojo, azul, verde, amarillo. Luna: Rojo, azul, verde, amarillo. Lucas: That's it for today's episode. Practice these colors as you go about your day. See a red sign, say rojo. Blue sky, say azul. Green tree, verde. Yellow taxi, amarillo. Luna: I'm definitely doing that. Thanks, Lucas! Lucas: Thank you, Luna. And thank you, listeners, for joining us on Learn Spanish with Fexingo. Keep practicing, and we'll see you next time. ¡Hasta luego! Luna: ¡Hasta luego!
