- 0:13Speaker 1: it's the Patriots.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Patriots Pregame Show is your source for all the latest
- 0:17Speaker 2: news and information before every game.
- 0:19Speaker 3: They've talked into the house God Trits bellad with Hardy.
- 0:25Speaker 1: Let's talk to Orient Delaware. Hey, let's go to Delaware.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Mike de So, you gotta be smart to be as smartest?
- 0:31Speaker 4: I guess, Okay, smart dumbasses?
- 0:33Speaker 5: What I am?
- 0:33Speaker 1: Paul Perule, Let me throw this out, dude. We don't
- 0:36Speaker 1: find this before we get to the fun? Sure? I mean,
- 0:38Speaker 1: who likes fun more than men?
- 0:40Speaker 3: And Tamara Brown?
- 0:41Speaker 1: Daniel Jones is drafted.
- 0:42Speaker 6: I'm like, did y'all only draft him because he looks
- 0:44Speaker 6: like Eli?
- 0:44Speaker 7: Look, I'm so confused.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Patriots Nation, Welcome to the Patriots Pregame Show presented by Dunky.
- 0:50Speaker 8: I can't wait.
- 0:53Speaker 9: All right?
- 0:53Speaker 1: Welcome in Patriots Pregame Show for the third and final
- 0:56Speaker 1: preseason contest between See Now. Mike Dusseau has been in
- 1:01Speaker 1: here celebrating the anniversary of the release date of The
- 1:04Speaker 1: Fine Fine film, the John Cusack vehicle, Better Off Dead,
- 1:08Speaker 1: the vehicle vehicle and uh and recreating the impersonation of
- 1:14Speaker 1: Howard Cosell. And I'm gonna have that on my brain
- 1:16Speaker 1: all night long.
- 1:17Speaker 4: Good All, that's gonna help us. That's gonna be our crutch.
- 1:20Speaker 4: Maybe instead of two mentions of Jaws tonight, we'll have
- 1:22Speaker 4: to mentions a Better Off Dead. But Paul's out on
- 1:25Speaker 4: this because I'm doubt seen it either, so.
- 1:28Speaker 1: I guarras them. I think the movie came out before
- 1:30Speaker 1: Tamara was alive.
- 1:34Speaker 9: Quite certain of that.
- 1:35Speaker 1: No, we're all jealous, is all we're saying.
- 1:38Speaker 4: Okay, Tamara, she wasn't even a glint.
- 1:41Speaker 1: I look at somebody like full of hope and promise
- 1:46Speaker 1: and have their whole lives and careers ahead of them,
- 1:49Speaker 1: and I feel such disdain and I I really I resentment.
- 1:59Speaker 4: Yeah, that's a good word, resentment.
- 2:00Speaker 10: I resent wistful, No, remembering he's going on the cross.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Let's start with Tamara. How are you? Tamara? I'm great,
- 2:13Speaker 1: I'm doing good so action.
- 2:16Speaker 10: I don't think she's great, I said.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Just because I said, because I served the show by
- 2:22Speaker 1: saying I resented her very existence. You gotta have a
- 2:27Speaker 1: thick skin in this business. Better you learn it now.
- 2:29Speaker 5: I think.
- 2:32Speaker 6: I think it's just more of like I'm sick of
- 2:34Speaker 6: the preseason.
- 2:35Speaker 4: Well, imagine if we had two more games to go.
- 2:38Speaker 1: I'm oddly like energized and optimistic about this Patriots team.
- 2:44Speaker 1: And we'll get into why. And it has nothing to
- 2:48Speaker 1: do with this game tonight. I I am in lockstep
- 2:51Speaker 1: with you that the preseason is largely folly. But there
- 2:55Speaker 1: are a lot of good position battles going on tonight,
- 2:58Speaker 1: a lot of good roster battles going on tonight, battles.
- 3:00Speaker 1: There are a lot of things, a lot of things
- 3:02Speaker 1: to look for. But I think we can treat this
- 3:04Speaker 1: as kind of a looky lou toward the regular season too.
- 3:07Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, I don't know what that means exactly,
- 3:10Speaker 4: because I don't think there's anything going on tonight that's
- 3:12Speaker 4: going to maybe be a looky lou to the regular.
- 3:14Speaker 1: No, I'm just saying we can talk about the regular
- 3:15Speaker 1: We can talk about the regular if you want to
- 3:18Speaker 1: talk about this game for two hours, good night.
- 3:21Speaker 10: No one wants to talk about the game itself. But
- 3:24Speaker 10: I do think you're right. I think there'll be some
- 3:26Speaker 10: bubble guys to watch tonight. Yeah, and you know beyond that,
- 3:31Speaker 10: you know, like just the roster of breakdowns.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Yeah, that kind of stuff. That's it, all that stuff.
- 3:36Speaker 6: I will say, something I'm really excited to do tonight
- 3:39Speaker 6: is seeing Mapu because we have not seen him play
- 3:41Speaker 6: in a preseason game yet.
- 3:42Speaker 4: Okay, that's exciting.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Let's get to that in a couple of minutes. We're
- 3:45Speaker 1: gonna do We're actually going to do things in the
- 3:47Speaker 1: order we're supposed to do them this week, as opposed
- 3:50Speaker 1: to last week when I screwed everything up by doing
- 3:52Speaker 1: the keys to the game.
- 3:54Speaker 4: Unbelievable.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Why did you leave the keys up on the table
- 3:57Speaker 1: you wanted.
- 3:58Speaker 4: To You've waited all week for the whole teams in
- 4:00Speaker 4: the locker room right now just listening to this, waiting
- 4:02Speaker 4: to hear what you're going to say.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Without these keys, the Patriots are just and doomed to fail.
- 4:07Speaker 3: Here are Hardy, Paul, Mike and Tamayor's keys to the game.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Why did I steal your key to the game? Also,
- 4:15Speaker 1: all right, keys to the game. Without these keys, the
- 4:17Speaker 1: Patriots could Oh, this is a must win tonight, the
- 4:21Speaker 1: third preseason is a must win game for.
- 4:24Speaker 4: I think this game, it's it's now or never, the
- 4:26Speaker 4: preseason's over.
- 4:27Speaker 9: You lose this game, this game, you finished with a
- 4:29Speaker 9: losing record.
- 4:30Speaker 1: That's right. Nobody wants that, especially not the Raven. How
- 4:33Speaker 1: did it get? What was the official record of the
- 4:38Speaker 1: Green Bay game? Did the Patriots get?
- 4:40Speaker 4: They get the dub, They pulled it out, they hung on.
- 4:44Speaker 9: It was considered it a win. Okay, all right, a win.
- 4:49Speaker 1: So let's begin in the order in which they are
- 4:52Speaker 1: in this piece of paper in front of me, keys
- 4:54Speaker 1: to the game, starting with Mike Duso.
- 4:56Speaker 4: Yeah, and they got the right one this week. So
- 4:57Speaker 4: I didn't I didn't try to be a little silly
- 4:59Speaker 4: with Hardy and them, but last chance to pop. I
- 5:02Speaker 4: just want to see some maybe a new face, maybe
- 5:04Speaker 4: somebody you know, chose something we haven't seen yet. There'll
- 5:06Speaker 4: be some guys in the bubble, like Paul said, that'll,
- 5:08Speaker 4: you know, maybe get a chance to play a bunch.
- 5:10Speaker 4: Doesn't sound like a lot of the starters are going
- 5:12Speaker 4: to play, so I don't want to eat into Pauls,
- 5:14Speaker 4: but I think that there's definitely something there. I'd love
- 5:16Speaker 4: to see. Maybe one of those big guys up front,
- 5:19Speaker 4: you know, have maybe a game that makes you think,
- 5:21Speaker 4: I mean, what are you gonna learn? But maybe it's
- 5:23Speaker 4: just a little bit of positivity. Somebody shows something key
- 5:25Speaker 4: on White Pop Douglas. Those guys have kind of shown
- 5:28Speaker 4: a little bit. And you know, Marty Mapoo, maybe it's him.
- 5:30Speaker 1: Okay, all right, Yeah, I want to talk about later
- 5:33Speaker 1: in terms of his role.
- 5:34Speaker 4: And you talk about your pool on the old time. Sorry,
- 5:39Speaker 4: we're getting punched already here.
- 5:41Speaker 1: You're an absolute that I don't think anyone's caught.
- 5:45Speaker 9: That's St.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Paul. What is your key?
- 5:50Speaker 10: My key is the offensive line, and I know that
- 5:53Speaker 10: there's still a lot of.
- 5:54Speaker 9: Moving parts in terms of injuries.
- 5:55Speaker 10: Good sign that we saw Micah when you back on
- 5:58Speaker 10: the practice field. Hopefully he has enough time to be
- 6:02Speaker 10: ready for Week one and he can get out there.
- 6:05Speaker 10: But if he's not, some of the guys and I
- 6:08Speaker 10: said this last week that are playing, that are playing
- 6:11Speaker 10: now might have to be part of the offensive line
- 6:14Speaker 10: at least on a temporary basis at the start of
- 6:17Speaker 10: the season. So I would like to see that come
- 6:19Speaker 10: together a little bit more cohesively than it was last week.
- 6:22Speaker 10: I thought it started off okay and then it gradually
- 6:26Speaker 10: got worse than Trent Brown left the game, and obviously
- 6:29Speaker 10: Stuber gets beat for the strip sack and that ended
- 6:32Speaker 10: mac Jones's night. And I think part of that is
- 6:35Speaker 10: the reason why we're not going to see mac Jones tonight,
- 6:37Speaker 10: which I disagree with, but I think it might have
- 6:41Speaker 10: something to do with it. According to some of the
- 6:43Speaker 10: people in the know on the Twitter machine or sorry
- 6:47Speaker 10: X talking about the personnel usage. So I'd like to
- 6:52Speaker 10: see the offensive line some of those Antonio Mafi City,
- 6:56Speaker 10: so you know, Riley Reef at Guard, I like to
- 7:00Speaker 10: see it come together a little bit better, just in
- 7:03Speaker 10: case some or all of those guys.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Are needed to come week one. Okay, well, that plays
- 7:08Speaker 1: right into the first part of my multi tiered key
- 7:11Speaker 1: to the game, which, since they are playing in the
- 7:13Speaker 1: Music City, mine is move sick cit e. All right,
- 7:18Speaker 1: now you see where I'm.
- 7:19Speaker 10: Going with all this quoting somebody music City, music City.
- 7:24Speaker 10: I thought it had something to do with city, urban setting,
- 7:27Speaker 10: moo sick. I think it's a city, so I think
- 7:30Speaker 10: it's actually an urban crochet or now, Paul, because it's
- 7:32Speaker 10: not a sou it's a do.
- 7:34Speaker 1: You know what do you know what MOO stands for?
- 7:37Speaker 4: Us?
- 7:38Speaker 1: What? What where lambda, landa, landa and oh mega move.
- 7:44Speaker 4: The words are simple. It's I gotta be me, I
- 7:46Speaker 4: gotta be free.
- 7:50Speaker 1: No, you gotta be me?
- 7:53Speaker 9: You too.
- 7:54Speaker 1: You mover first to what Tom Brady once called his
- 7:58Speaker 1: uh fat his offensive and get out, get over here
- 8:01Speaker 1: and protect me, you fat cows.
- 8:03Speaker 9: That is correct. That was a direct quote.
- 8:05Speaker 1: That is a direct quote what Tom Brady once said
- 8:07Speaker 1: to his offensive line.
- 8:08Speaker 9: So I'm not happy? Is that true?
- 8:11Speaker 1: Oh yeah, fat gime? Okay, I didn't come on.
- 8:13Speaker 4: That sounds cool.
- 8:15Speaker 1: So the move refers to, yes, let's see some progress
- 8:18Speaker 1: on the offensive line.
- 8:19Speaker 4: I love that.
- 8:19Speaker 9: Okay, sick.
- 8:20Speaker 1: Let's be mindful the guys who are going to come
- 8:22Speaker 1: down with the Foxborough flu here. This is the time
- 8:25Speaker 1: of year. Am I right?
- 8:26Speaker 10: Am I right? There's a level, there's and then sometimes
- 8:31Speaker 10: in the cities and then sit E.
- 8:34Speaker 1: I have no idea if Ezekiel Elliott's going to be
- 8:36Speaker 1: playing any football, but why not just keep him in
- 8:39Speaker 1: bubble wraps or he doesn't get hurt? Moves sick, sit E,
- 8:43Speaker 1: Music City. That's what you see. There's no position on
- 8:47Speaker 1: the genius switch. It's on morel says we need keys
- 8:51Speaker 1: to the game. A couple of days ago, and I'm.
- 8:53Speaker 4: Like, Boom, move sick City.
- 8:54Speaker 1: What does that mean? Hardy? I don't know. I'll figure
- 8:57Speaker 1: it out by five forty five on Friday. And look
- 8:59Speaker 1: at that Boom like to.
- 9:02Speaker 6: Be a fly on the wall in your brand?
- 9:04Speaker 4: What is happening? There's quite a few flies in there.
- 9:08Speaker 2: Graphics guy said, what does Hardy's key mean? I said,
- 9:11Speaker 2: I don't know, but he says it makes sense.
- 9:13Speaker 6: He probably didn't months ago.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Where and where's where's our graphics guy? Now does he
- 9:19Speaker 1: want to apologize?
- 9:20Speaker 4: I mean, you get it now? Huh? Now you get it?
- 9:23Speaker 1: Said? No? Okay, okay, fair and understandable. All right, Tamara,
- 9:28Speaker 1: your key to the game tonight.
- 9:30Speaker 6: My key to the game tonight is let's get this
- 9:32Speaker 6: show on the road. Let's just finish the game. No injuries,
- 9:35Speaker 6: no chaos, just get it done so we can get
- 9:38Speaker 6: into the regular season. Like no one wants to talk
- 9:40Speaker 6: about the preseason anymore.
- 9:42Speaker 1: What is the show?
- 9:45Speaker 6: The season, the real season. Let's get this show on
- 9:48Speaker 6: the road.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Okay, all right, we're wasting.
- 9:50Speaker 6: Time, especially if the starters really aren't playing tonight for them, they're.
- 9:56Speaker 4: Fighting for a job. They could be out of work.
- 9:58Speaker 4: In three days, have a.
- 10:01Speaker 1: It is a pregame show in jail there hurt believe
- 10:07Speaker 1: it or not. There are tons of people listening and
- 10:09Speaker 1: watching right now.
- 10:10Speaker 9: And there's tons of people I don't know.
- 10:12Speaker 4: Some of them have been weighing in on better off
- 10:13Speaker 4: debt already. Well, I mean not well one and it's
- 10:15Speaker 4: our webmaster. But but someone is weighing in on it.
- 10:18Speaker 1: Well, and it's my it's a relative, but still Tamaraw,
- 10:22Speaker 1: I'm with you to this like this whole preseason and
- 10:26Speaker 1: it weighs on me every year. But I was having
- 10:28Speaker 1: the discussion with somebody. I said, look, I think the
- 10:31Speaker 1: best we're ever going to get is adding a regular
- 10:34Speaker 1: season game, them taking away a preseason game. Maybe doing
- 10:39Speaker 1: And this was this was my idea that I came up.
- 10:42Speaker 1: You do the first week of training camp at home,
- 10:44Speaker 1: You do the second week in joints. Everybody does a
- 10:48Speaker 1: joint of me.
- 10:49Speaker 4: I'm in on that.
- 10:52Speaker 1: Every team has joint practices with another team, right, and
- 10:55Speaker 1: then you get the oh my.
- 10:58Speaker 9: Goodness, sc I'm posting our show is live.
- 11:02Speaker 1: Then you get that you know that buffer week before
- 11:04Speaker 1: the regular season starts. There you go. So there's only
- 11:07Speaker 1: two of these I truly question the value in these
- 11:12Speaker 1: games other than guys who And far be it from
- 11:18Speaker 1: me to take away an opportunity for a guy to
- 11:20Speaker 1: get a job. I understand that part of it. I
- 11:23Speaker 1: do not believe that the coaches need this game or
- 11:29Speaker 1: three of them to identify who can contribute to their
- 11:33Speaker 1: football team. I'm sure they can do it in two.
- 11:37Speaker 1: My guess is they could do it in one, and
- 11:40Speaker 1: something tells me they could do it with none.
- 11:42Speaker 9: Yeah, and oh, what do you do? How do you
- 11:45Speaker 9: just go into the season playing games? I don't know.
- 11:47Speaker 1: It's not baseball. You don't need to warm up your
- 11:50Speaker 1: arm for a month, you know, it's it's it's not Seriously,
- 11:54Speaker 1: it's not hockey. It's a different sport. You go from
- 11:58Speaker 1: the sport itself is all about going from zero to
- 12:02Speaker 1: sixty all the time. That's how the game is played.
- 12:05Speaker 1: So why can't you But what, like, why can't you
- 12:09Speaker 1: play the regular season like that camp? You know, a
- 12:13Speaker 1: week of joint practices with somebody, get some some real
- 12:15Speaker 1: hitting in and get some competition, and then you go, yeah,
- 12:18Speaker 1: you just start playing games.
- 12:20Speaker 4: I think Paul Paul had a pretty good suggestion this
- 12:22Speaker 4: week on PU you're like kind of staggered weeks maybe
- 12:25Speaker 4: and it was.
- 12:26Speaker 10: Funder and if it if you guys are right, Fred
- 12:28Speaker 10: and you are on the same page, it's going to
- 12:30Speaker 10: be two, right, It's gonna be two eventually an eighteen
- 12:33Speaker 10: regular season games. So I would keep it the way
- 12:35Speaker 10: it is, starting week one the way the same week
- 12:39Speaker 10: now like August fifteenth, dish, and then go two weeks
- 12:43Speaker 10: and have the second game with you know, so you
- 12:46Speaker 10: could have joint practices with somebody if you wanted to know,
- 12:49Speaker 10: you know, maybe even two separate joint practices if you want,
- 12:52Speaker 10: Like you know, however you wanted to do it, So
- 12:55Speaker 10: you go week one and then like week three, and
- 12:57Speaker 10: then you still have that two week buffer ten eleven
- 13:01Speaker 10: day buffer between.
- 13:03Speaker 9: The last preseason, okay season, because we.
- 13:06Speaker 10: Were wondering if you went down to two games, would
- 13:07Speaker 10: you push everything back? You know, So it goes like
- 13:10Speaker 10: week two and week three is now what would you
- 13:13Speaker 10: do with week one and week two and then it's
- 13:15Speaker 10: a long gap.
- 13:17Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 13:17Speaker 10: I don't know what you would do because my guess
- 13:19Speaker 10: is they're going to keep the start of the regular season.
- 13:21Speaker 9: Where it is the week after Labour Day.
- 13:23Speaker 1: They don't want to mess around with They don't want
- 13:24Speaker 1: to play on Labor No, no, yes.
- 13:28Speaker 10: I don't know how the NFL played for so many
- 13:30Speaker 10: years on Labor Dy weekend. It didn't fall apart, but
- 13:32Speaker 10: they won't not go back to that.
- 13:34Speaker 4: I don't never go back.
- 13:35Speaker 1: Well, and I think they're never over macho grande. I
- 13:40Speaker 1: think there's too many places now. And I don't want
- 13:43Speaker 1: to get into any kind of a climate change discussion,
- 13:46Speaker 1: but it does seem like there's too many places in
- 13:48Speaker 1: the North that play outside where it's just a little
- 13:51Speaker 1: too warm to be playing football outside in August or
- 13:54Speaker 1: early September, And if and if that continues to be
- 13:57Speaker 1: the trend, the last thing they want to do is
- 14:00Speaker 1: put a game that matters earlier on the schedule. I mean,
- 14:04Speaker 1: for all we know, it could be ninety degrees on
- 14:07Speaker 1: you know, Labor Day weekend, and you don't want to
- 14:10Speaker 1: be playing football in that if you don't have to.
- 14:12Speaker 6: Maybe it depends on where you are, because right now,
- 14:14Speaker 6: in the past couple of days here have felt like full.
- 14:16Speaker 1: If you're in.
- 14:17Speaker 4: Miami about it, yeah, well that's it right, Miami hot.
- 14:20Speaker 4: Maybe we could do no games in September and Florida too.
- 14:23Speaker 4: That was you know, there.
- 14:24Speaker 10: Was a year, I want to say, one of the
- 14:26Speaker 10: Pete Carroll years, maybe ninety seven ninety eight, where they
- 14:30Speaker 10: opened on August thirty first. The first game was August
- 14:33Speaker 10: thirty first. Don't check it, just believe me. I will
- 14:41Speaker 10: tell you they beat San Diego.
- 14:44Speaker 9: I want to say, like bad and everyone.
- 14:49Speaker 10: So if we do, only there were a way I
- 14:51Speaker 10: could look at it, and you'll never know if we
- 14:53Speaker 10: do bump out the regular season to eighteen games and
- 14:56Speaker 10: we don't start earlier, we just go later.
- 14:59Speaker 1: Do we get that Super Bowl of President's Day weekend
- 15:03Speaker 1: leading into that Monday holiday?
- 15:05Speaker 4: That's I'm really looking for that, huh.
- 15:08Speaker 1: I mean, I honestly think the NFL would be against
- 15:11Speaker 1: it because I think March. I think they get a
- 15:13Speaker 1: lot of play on that Monday after the Super Bowl,
- 15:16Speaker 1: being a business day for most people. Thirty first, nineteen
- 15:18Speaker 1: ninety seven.
- 15:19Speaker 6: How are you going to say, don't check it? And
- 15:20Speaker 6: you checked it.
- 15:21Speaker 1: Forty one seven. Look, we can argue about this later,
- 15:24Speaker 1: but we have to go behind enemy line.
- 15:26Speaker 3: No, come on, you know the view from New England.
- 15:30Speaker 1: We go behind enemy lines, But.
- 15:31Speaker 3: What about the view from the other side?
- 15:33Speaker 1: And that's why you're our favorite pregame show guest. Yeah.
- 15:36Speaker 8: Every year, you know, you tell everybody that I was
- 15:40Speaker 8: on with you guys.
- 15:40Speaker 11: That's twenty eighteen Thursday Night Football.
- 15:43Speaker 1: Yeah, I was the favorite gift show.
- 15:45Speaker 3: No time now to go behind enemy.
- 15:48Speaker 1: Lines joining us now, Teresa Walker with the ap at
- 15:55Speaker 1: Teresa M. Walker on Twitter. Excuse me x here with Hardy,
- 16:00Speaker 1: Mike des Tamara, and Paul Parrello. Teresa, how are you?
- 16:04Speaker 12: I'm good. Let's just say that I'm sitting in my
- 16:08Speaker 12: car on the ac before I have to make a
- 16:10Speaker 12: walk across the very very hot parking lot here in Nashville.
- 16:14Speaker 12: Where it is it's helping around one hundred degrees. Wow,
- 16:18Speaker 12: that's not counting what it feels like right now.
- 16:21Speaker 6: Were so it's a bad time to probably tell Teresa
- 16:23Speaker 6: that it's thirty degrees cooler here.
- 16:25Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, but it's crummy here. You don't you don't
- 16:27Speaker 1: want to trade places with us. It's funny. We were
- 16:30Speaker 1: just having the conversation about, you know, the regular season,
- 16:33Speaker 1: and what happens if if you know, it gets extended
- 16:36Speaker 1: to eighteen and they take away one of these preseason
- 16:39Speaker 1: games playing any earlier in the season would be detrimental
- 16:43Speaker 1: in a lot of climates, it sounds, especially places like Nashville.
- 16:48Speaker 12: Well, at least for the next couple of years. Remember,
- 16:50Speaker 12: the Tennessee Titans are going to their breaking ground next
- 16:53Speaker 12: spring ish on a news stadium that's going to be enclosed,
- 16:58Speaker 12: so they'll have a see so that'll make it a
- 17:02Speaker 12: little bit more bearable. They're targeting twenty seven to have
- 17:05Speaker 12: that building open. But yeah, certainly for the next four
- 17:09Speaker 12: years it would you know, if that happens, it will
- 17:12Speaker 12: be hot. And yeah, I'm really glad I've been going
- 17:15Speaker 12: to be in the press box tonight because guys, they're
- 17:18Speaker 12: also debuting their new artificial surface and I'm really curious
- 17:23Speaker 12: to see what that does to the temperature the feels
- 17:26Speaker 12: like down on the field.
- 17:30Speaker 4: When joint practicings got canceled, that was like the first
- 17:32Speaker 4: thing I thought, because when we were up here it
- 17:34Speaker 4: was like one day, I think Wednesday Thursday, it was
- 17:35Speaker 4: like one hundred and fourteen, Stacey said down there at
- 17:38Speaker 4: the time. So glad we missed out on that, but
- 17:40Speaker 4: just curious. Teresa DeAndre Hopkins, you know, the Patriots, a
- 17:43Speaker 4: lot a lot of fans were clamoring for him, he
- 17:45Speaker 4: ended up with the Titans. Just how has he looked
- 17:47Speaker 4: this summer and what do you feel like he's brought
- 17:49Speaker 4: to the Titans.
- 17:51Speaker 12: Well, let's say it this way. He has been a
- 17:53Speaker 12: godfend the Titans probably needed him more than anybody else.
- 17:57Speaker 12: I'm sorry, but the chemistry you can see it really
- 18:00Speaker 12: building between him and Ryan Tannehill over the last two
- 18:04Speaker 12: weeks particularly. I mean, this is a guy who just
- 18:08Speaker 12: has really great hands. You know, Dave McGinnis, who coached
- 18:12Speaker 12: in this league for a long time, works Titans Radio
- 18:15Speaker 12: these days. He referred to them as bear trap, you know,
- 18:19Speaker 12: so you know that it's been fun to watch. Now.
- 18:22Speaker 12: The sad thing is Traylon Burke's got hurt last week
- 18:24Speaker 12: and joint practices with Minnesota, so that burgeoning chemistry and
- 18:30Speaker 12: that option on the other side. It will see if
- 18:33Speaker 12: he's back in time for the start of the season
- 18:35Speaker 12: in a couple of weeks. But he has been everything
- 18:38Speaker 12: I think Titans fans had hope for. And this is
- 18:41Speaker 12: a fan base that saw Julio Jones come in and
- 18:44Speaker 12: just kind of be a whimper and a blizz and
- 18:47Speaker 12: oh yeah, he's hardly around. Randy Moss played half a
- 18:51Speaker 12: season or so in twenty ten here at the end
- 18:55Speaker 12: of his career. You know, Andre Johnson made a brief
- 18:58Speaker 12: appearance that his biggest catch I think was a touchdown
- 19:01Speaker 12: that helped them win in Detroit. So there's been a
- 19:03Speaker 12: lot of receivers come here at the end, you would think,
- 19:07Speaker 12: and DeAndre Hawkins, he wants to have quite a bit
- 19:11Speaker 12: of a chip on his shoulder, determined to prove no,
- 19:13Speaker 12: I'm not done yet.
- 19:15Speaker 6: Teresa, do you think that, you know, the Titans have
- 19:18Speaker 6: seen enough of their starters in training camp and that
- 19:21Speaker 6: one set of joint practices or do you think that
- 19:23Speaker 6: they'll play their starters tonight.
- 19:26Speaker 12: It looks like Ryan Tannehill is going to be starting tonight.
- 19:28Speaker 12: Now the question is how much does he you know,
- 19:31Speaker 12: do they risk him? Because you know Will Levis, you know,
- 19:35Speaker 12: he's a guy that I really would like to have
- 19:37Speaker 12: seen more of this preseason, but he's got a quad
- 19:39Speaker 12: injury that kept him out of last week's preseason game
- 19:42Speaker 12: in Minnesota completely.
- 19:44Speaker 5: Uh.
- 19:45Speaker 12: He didn't get it back on the practice build till Wednesday.
- 19:48Speaker 13: Uh.
- 19:48Speaker 12: So it's like that's a kid that you know, honestly
- 19:51Speaker 12: would like he was starting to really make some strides
- 19:54Speaker 12: and then got hurt. So h Now you know me personally,
- 19:58Speaker 12: after what this team has done, Nobody in the NFL
- 20:01Speaker 12: has had more players used because of injuries over these
- 20:05Speaker 12: last two seasons than the Tennessee Titans. I would want
- 20:09Speaker 12: to have Tanny Hills, DeAndre Hopkins name it in bubble
- 20:12Speaker 12: wraps and just put them away until September tenth, when
- 20:15Speaker 12: they open at New Orleans. They're not going to listen
- 20:18Speaker 12: to me, though, so we'll see how much we actually
- 20:21Speaker 12: do seek Ryan Tannehill maybe a Series two. I can't
- 20:25Speaker 12: imagine he's out there in the second quarter at all.
- 20:29Speaker 10: Don't you hate when they don't listen to us exactly?
- 20:32Speaker 10: We have all the answers. I don't know why they
- 20:34Speaker 10: don't take our advice anymore often, Teresa. But just overall,
- 20:37Speaker 10: you know, the Titans, I kind of feel like they're
- 20:40Speaker 10: in a similar spot as the Patriots, you know, with
- 20:42Speaker 10: you know, some transition sort of coming. I'm just curious
- 20:46Speaker 10: your thoughts overall. You mentioned Tannehill will play tonight. Do
- 20:50Speaker 10: you think he will be the starter throughout the season.
- 20:53Speaker 10: I know you know they have Levis, they have Willis.
- 20:57Speaker 10: Do you think he will be the guy for the
- 20:58Speaker 10: rest of the way or is it just a sort of.
- 21:01Speaker 1: A seed, you know, keeping the sea warm.
- 21:03Speaker 9: At this point, well, at.
- 21:05Speaker 12: This point, the job is his. The only way that
- 21:09Speaker 12: Lewis or Willis end up on the field is that
- 21:11Speaker 12: there's an injury or it's mop up duty. I mean,
- 21:14Speaker 12: Ryan tanney Hill missed five games last season because been ankle.
- 21:18Speaker 12: He had surgery to fix that. He stuck around all
- 21:21Speaker 12: off season to make sure he healed up. He is
- 21:23Speaker 12: in the final year of his current contract, just turned
- 21:26Speaker 12: thirty five before training camp opened. And he's a guy
- 21:30Speaker 12: who I mean, hey, you know, look at Aaron Rodgers
- 21:32Speaker 12: the way Tom Brady. I mean, you know, he's a guy.
- 21:35Speaker 12: He's got to be thinking, if I'm not playing here
- 21:37Speaker 12: next year, I need to be playing somewhere. So and
- 21:41Speaker 12: the Titans, let's be honest, they need him. The one
- 21:45Speaker 12: thing that has been a constant under Mike Brable, they
- 21:47Speaker 12: have always been playing for a playoff spot in the
- 21:51Speaker 12: by the in the last game of their of their season.
- 21:53Speaker 12: The first five years they have been a playoff spot
- 21:56Speaker 12: has been on the line. So they are not targeting
- 21:58Speaker 12: rebuilt at this point, They're targeting playoffs and the easiest way.
- 22:02Speaker 12: I mean, let's face it, in the AFC South is
- 22:04Speaker 12: win this division and get in your biggest competition is
- 22:08Speaker 12: the Jacksonville Jaguars, a team that they were three minutes
- 22:11Speaker 12: away from beating with a guy that they signed around
- 22:14Speaker 12: Christmas time, and they still nearly went except for you know,
- 22:18Speaker 12: ball got not lose Scoop and a score. Different quarterback
- 22:22Speaker 12: in there may have gotten the call that it was
- 22:23Speaker 12: being almost going forward. So this is a team that
- 22:27Speaker 12: they think they've got a lot of guys in contract years.
- 22:29Speaker 12: They you know, Brian tanney Hill is the guy that
- 22:31Speaker 12: they want to be playing as much as possible.
- 22:35Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, it's funny you mentioned the AFC South.
- 22:37Speaker 1: There was a much talked about breakdown of the divisions
- 22:40Speaker 1: and with the with the AFC East being you know,
- 22:44Speaker 1: kind of thrown around as being the toughest. In the
- 22:46Speaker 1: AFC South, you're looking at one of those divisions. It's like,
- 22:49Speaker 1: I don't want to say it's the easiest door. It
- 22:52Speaker 1: contains the least mount talent. I prefer to think of
- 22:55Speaker 1: it as the most gettable. You know, with teams in
- 22:58Speaker 1: that division thinking oh there's it's not out of the
- 23:01Speaker 1: question to think that You've got a chance there, and
- 23:03Speaker 1: the Titans have to be thinking that probably as much
- 23:05Speaker 1: as like you said, Jacksonville.
- 23:08Speaker 12: Absolutely, I mean, think about it. There's four teams. Two
- 23:11Speaker 12: of them have rookie head coaches, rookie quarterbacks that are
- 23:14Speaker 12: going to be starting. I know that Houston hasn't quite
- 23:16Speaker 12: pulled the plug and said that C. J. Stroud definitely
- 23:19Speaker 12: is their starter yet, but let's face it, Anthony Richardson
- 23:23Speaker 12: has already been announced starter in Indianapolis. But you've got
- 23:26Speaker 12: Trevor Lawrence who is going into his second season with
- 23:29Speaker 12: Doug Peterson as the coach. So it seems like this
- 23:33Speaker 12: is a two team fight for the division title. And
- 23:36Speaker 12: you know, let's just put it this way. I mean,
- 23:39Speaker 12: Derrick Henry runs a lot and runs really well over
- 23:42Speaker 12: two teams, the Texans and the you know, Jaguars, and
- 23:45Speaker 12: the regular season finale this year is Jacksonville in Nashville,
- 23:50Speaker 12: where they have won just twice since twenty eleven. So
- 23:55Speaker 12: it's going to come down to these two teams in
- 23:57Speaker 12: this division. And I'm going to if the Titans can
- 23:59Speaker 12: stay healthy, something I've said last year and that didn't
- 24:02Speaker 12: work out, but if they could say kind of healthy,
- 24:05Speaker 12: then they should have a chance to be playing for
- 24:07Speaker 12: that title at the end of the regular season.
- 24:09Speaker 1: I have one final question for you, Teresa, before weally
- 24:12Speaker 1: go slightly off topic. Paul referred to his brother in
- 24:15Speaker 1: law several times today. This. This is a man who
- 24:19Speaker 1: is married to Paul's wife's sister. This is a man
- 24:24Speaker 1: married to Paul's sister in law. I said, he's not
- 24:28Speaker 1: your brother in law. What do you say, Teresa.
- 24:33Speaker 12: I say, no, you're down south. We count that as can.
- 24:37Speaker 1: Yes, yes, thank you, thank you.
- 24:41Speaker 10: In law is not my blood relative, doesn't matter, It
- 24:43Speaker 10: doesn't matter, Teresa, best call ever.
- 24:44Speaker 1: Thank you so much. You are my favorite, my new
- 24:46Speaker 1: favorite guest.
- 24:47Speaker 9: I don't listen to you, Teresa.
- 24:49Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 24:50Speaker 9: Thank you.
- 24:52Speaker 1: All right, Teresa, have la on Twitter. Very good with
- 24:55Speaker 1: the Associated Press. Thanks Teresa's.
- 24:59Speaker 4: My kid.
- 25:00Speaker 1: There you go, all right, there we go. I know it.
- 25:03Speaker 1: We're going to talk about this a lot more later,
- 25:06Speaker 1: but can't we I want to get I want to
- 25:08Speaker 1: go to bookmark that one. I want to get to
- 25:10Speaker 1: the phone calls. I want to I want to make
- 25:12Speaker 1: sure we have enough. I don't know if we're going
- 25:13Speaker 1: to have enough time for all of this. We got
- 25:15Speaker 1: to get to the to the over unders sometime in
- 25:18Speaker 1: the next hour and thirty five minutes.
- 25:19Speaker 6: Love party's energy right now right, I need you ingest
- 25:22Speaker 6: it into the rest of us.
- 25:23Speaker 1: I got a little nap. That's just a little fun.
- 25:25Speaker 9: Did you take a little nap. I had a wonderful shower.
- 25:28Speaker 1: Oh, I had about it shower and a shade.
- 25:30Speaker 4: These two guys were golf buddies today. They already they've
- 25:32Speaker 4: already had a hole, nine rounds and nine holes on the.
- 25:35Speaker 9: Course, walked and carried The plan was eighteen but.
- 25:40Speaker 1: I the we the we off you guys today that
- 25:43Speaker 1: was it.
- 25:44Speaker 4: But you found the window. Your season professionals already.
- 25:46Speaker 1: Found a window.
- 25:47Speaker 4: He told me he find a window, and he's like,
- 25:49Speaker 4: now now, now start it.
- 25:50Speaker 9: He did.
- 25:52Speaker 1: It was like Denzel in Flight. I'm like, there's our
- 25:54Speaker 1: window right there, and power up, punch right through. It
- 25:57Speaker 1: went bad after that, but that was not his fault.
- 26:00Speaker 1: Oh yeah, it's not pilot error.
- 26:01Speaker 4: I didn't see that movie.
- 26:02Speaker 9: It's slight.
- 26:03Speaker 4: No, it's really good.
- 26:04Speaker 10: He's love the way he drinks, like the way he
- 26:06Speaker 10: would he would, you know, behind the back with the
- 26:09Speaker 10: nips the drinks.
- 26:11Speaker 1: Did he give you some ideas.
- 26:12Speaker 9: Awesome, awesome, there's like.
- 26:14Speaker 4: A terrifying plane crash in that right, like you're on
- 26:16Speaker 4: the inside of the plane crash like that. I don't
- 26:18Speaker 4: really want those visuals in my brain.
- 26:19Speaker 9: He kind of avoids it.
- 26:21Speaker 1: Oh no, that plane crashes. I mean spoiler alert.
- 26:26Speaker 9: Well, I mean, how long ago had that movie come out?
- 26:28Speaker 9: Fifteen years?
- 26:28Speaker 1: Oh no, not that long.
- 26:30Speaker 4: I want to say.
- 26:31Speaker 1: I'm going to say seven at the most.
- 26:34Speaker 4: Now again.
- 26:36Speaker 1: That anybody Paul's googling it, don't worry Google. I bet
- 26:40Speaker 1: I can google it faster than Paul. Twenty twelve. Whoa
- 26:43Speaker 1: eleven years?
- 26:44Speaker 4: Eleven?
- 26:45Speaker 1: Okay, all right, eleven Now we got.
- 26:49Speaker 9: These things go down. I'm good.
- 26:53Speaker 4: I'm good.
- 26:54Speaker 9: These things go down.
- 26:55Speaker 1: They can't go up, it's too big. Let's go to
- 26:58Speaker 1: the phones. We'll go to cousin Patty and Agua to
- 27:01Speaker 1: lead us off per usual on the Patriots pre game
- 27:04Speaker 1: show Field by Duncan. Hello, pat, Hey, guys.
- 27:08Speaker 14: What's going on doing?
- 27:10Speaker 13: I had a question.
- 27:11Speaker 14: I don't know if you guys covered because my life technic,
- 27:14Speaker 14: you know, and I'm trying to manage my house and
- 27:16Speaker 14: it's a mess. But why do you think the Patriots
- 27:21Speaker 14: didn't try to go after Josh who Jones because I mean,
- 27:25Speaker 14: every I think we all see what the product with
- 27:28Speaker 14: the offensive line, and it hasn't been good, Like there's
- 27:32Speaker 14: no depth even I mean I would have I would
- 27:34Speaker 14: have given a fourth round pick and and don't pick
- 27:37Speaker 14: swap me for this guy. So I apologize if you
- 27:41Speaker 14: haven't covered that. But what do you guys think about that?
- 27:44Speaker 4: I mean, I think he was gettable obviously for the compensation,
- 27:47Speaker 4: But but do.
- 27:47Speaker 10: We know that they didn't There have been any reports
- 27:50Speaker 10: that the papers weren't interested, not that we've.
- 27:51Speaker 4: Heard, not we've heard, so I don't I don't know.
- 27:53Speaker 4: I mean, I guess, you know, I can't say that
- 27:56Speaker 4: this is a great reason. But I think if Calvin
- 27:57Speaker 4: Anderson was close and you feel like you're suddenly gonna
- 28:00Speaker 4: had a tackle back and you know, maybe you want
- 28:01Speaker 4: to see with the guy that you invested in this offseason.
- 28:04Speaker 4: But that's the only you know, explanation I could think
- 28:07Speaker 4: of is because we've all felt like, I mean, they're
- 28:10Speaker 4: they're they had to put Bill Murray at tackle last week,
- 28:12Speaker 4: you know, like they're they're scraping the bottle and barrel
- 28:14Speaker 4: with Yeah, I.
- 28:14Speaker 10: Mean on the surface and we talked about Josh Jones
- 28:17Speaker 10: on Thursday, I think, or no on Tuesdayday because I
- 28:20Speaker 10: wasn't on the Thursday show, and I kind of thought
- 28:23Speaker 10: it would be that kind of a trade. Like my
- 28:26Speaker 10: first reaction is, why is Arizona with all of these
- 28:28Speaker 10: starting caliber tackles.
- 28:30Speaker 4: Trading is given them away?
- 28:31Speaker 10: Yeah, you know, and clearly they're having a fire sale.
- 28:33Speaker 10: I mean they're they're trading guys that are cheap, that
- 28:36Speaker 10: are good players like Isaiah Simmons.
- 28:38Speaker 1: Yeah you know.
- 28:40Speaker 14: Uh oh, They're they're gonna pick White and within probably
- 28:44Speaker 14: the first five or ten pick.
- 28:46Speaker 10: Right, So I mean clearly they have a thought in mind,
- 28:49Speaker 10: but you're not going to get like I Actually I
- 28:53Speaker 10: think I suggested there'll be one of those. I think
- 28:55Speaker 10: it's like, yeah, they'll they'll trade a fourth rounder and
- 28:58Speaker 10: get a sixth back. Yeah, you know, one of those
- 29:01Speaker 10: like and it ended up being like a fifth rounder
- 29:03Speaker 10: with the seventh rounder involved.
- 29:04Speaker 9: So I don't think you.
- 29:06Speaker 10: Needed to trade, like, just just trade a fourth round
- 29:09Speaker 10: or for him if.
- 29:10Speaker 4: They really felt like they could have got him. It
- 29:11Speaker 4: doesn't sound like it would have been that hard. So
- 29:14Speaker 4: I might just let to you, why wouldn't they want
- 29:15Speaker 4: him right now, maybe because they feel like they're getting.
- 29:18Speaker 9: Help, right.
- 29:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 29:18Speaker 10: But like the Calvin Anderson thing to me, like, let's
- 29:21Speaker 10: just say for arguments that he is fully healthy right now.
- 29:24Speaker 9: So when is he available?
- 29:27Speaker 4: I mean I guess, like yeah, when you and what is.
- 29:29Speaker 10: He He's not really a starting caliber player and he
- 29:33Speaker 10: probably a left tackle And people are telling me Josh
- 29:35Speaker 10: Jones is he started like ten games last year?
- 29:38Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 29:38Speaker 1: Right, So I mean I don't know.
- 29:40Speaker 4: I mean, I think Anderson did start some last year
- 29:42Speaker 4: for the Broncos, but he'd be a left tackle and
- 29:45Speaker 4: he's been a backup in his career who's filled in.
- 29:47Speaker 10: Josh Jones has been a starter for the Cardinals. Yeah right,
- 29:51Speaker 10: I don't know, man, I'm not missing that.
- 29:53Speaker 4: No, No, I mean it's I mean, I guess it's the question.
- 29:55Speaker 4: And that ties in with with Hardy's thing with the
- 29:57Speaker 4: preseason where you're gonna get himhen you back, you know,
- 29:59Speaker 4: hopefully now starting to you know, had the pads on
- 30:01Speaker 4: this week, like, so he's got two weeks. He's probably
- 30:03Speaker 4: not gonna play tonight, so he just got two weeks
- 30:05Speaker 4: of practice to get ready.
- 30:06Speaker 1: You know, Wow, Pat, that does that? Suffice? Is your
- 30:11Speaker 1: question answered, Questions answered, Thanks.
- 30:15Speaker 14: Pat, That's all I got, guys.
- 30:17Speaker 10: All right, Now, Anderson has twelve starts in three years.
- 30:22Speaker 10: You know, the best he had was seven out of
- 30:24Speaker 10: fourteen games last year.
- 30:27Speaker 4: So, like, I know nothing about him.
- 30:29Speaker 9: So he's a third tackle, is what he is. Now.
- 30:31Speaker 9: He could be a good third tackle.
- 30:32Speaker 10: He could be better than Connor McDermott or Riley Reef
- 30:35Speaker 10: and then have to start, you.
- 30:37Speaker 1: Know what I mean?
- 30:37Speaker 4: Yeah, because they don't. I don't. I mean the way
- 30:39Speaker 4: I look at it, they don't only have a second tackle.
- 30:41Speaker 10: Right now, exactly, he might be it. He might be
- 30:43Speaker 10: your second best tackle. Let's go to John and Louisiana.
- 30:47Speaker 1: John, you're on the Patriots pregame show with Hardy and
- 30:50Speaker 1: Mike and Tamara and Paul. What's going on?
- 30:54Speaker 10: Yes, yeah, all right, I appreciate taking my call.
- 30:57Speaker 11: I got a question away from the game.
- 31:00Speaker 12: Question as far as like reporters.
- 31:02Speaker 1: This all season was tough to be a fan with all.
- 31:04Speaker 12: The fake moves on Twitter, this person as boss and everything.
- 31:08Speaker 11: I'm wondering how hard was it for y'all to kind
- 31:11Speaker 11: of write or he.
- 31:12Speaker 12: Reporters this year with all the fake news?
- 31:14Speaker 13: And my last question is I wonder how.
- 31:16Speaker 11: Do y'all feel about like a dun Se Sanuel kind
- 31:19Speaker 11: of down in the organization so much to feel like
- 31:21Speaker 11: if he comes out there all.
- 31:23Speaker 12: Of this and that.
- 31:24Speaker 2: So that's all I got for y'all.
- 31:25Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't. I don't know specifically what fake news
- 31:29Speaker 1: you're talking about, John, I mean in terms of like
- 31:31Speaker 1: bad reporting or like maybe some has there been at it?
- 31:35Speaker 11: Well, like with the free agency in a draft this year,
- 31:37Speaker 11: it was like so many people.
- 31:39Speaker 13: Like like how the odell all like.
- 31:41Speaker 12: DeAndre Hopkins thing was. It was like, oh he's a
- 31:43Speaker 12: shoot wins that them in New England.
- 31:45Speaker 13: It's a done deal?
- 31:46Speaker 9: Or right, Well I didn't read that.
- 31:48Speaker 1: Yeah, Well, I think a lot of it, John, It's
- 31:50Speaker 1: it's a good question. I think a lot of it
- 31:52Speaker 1: is just deciphering what is put out there as opinion
- 31:56Speaker 1: and what is put out there as actual factual stuff.
- 31:59Speaker 1: And the only thing that I really feel like I got,
- 32:02Speaker 1: you know, a little bit tripped up on was the
- 32:06Speaker 1: Ezekiel Elliott contract. And then the more I learned about
- 32:10Speaker 1: it and hearing Paul actually break it down, didn't get
- 32:13Speaker 1: all that tripped up.
- 32:14Speaker 9: I mean, there was it's that that was Schefter had
- 32:17Speaker 9: that wrong.
- 32:18Speaker 10: That was that was like quote fake news what John
- 32:21Speaker 10: said because he had four million I think in guarantees
- 32:24Speaker 10: and Schefter had it wrong.
- 32:25Speaker 1: Yeah that much. But okay, so that was like one thing.
- 32:28Speaker 1: But I don't think that's like, I don't think that
- 32:30Speaker 1: changes all that much. You know, it did change things
- 32:33Speaker 1: a little bit, but in terms of the other stuff
- 32:35Speaker 1: that's out there, I mean, there's so much opinion out there.
- 32:38Speaker 1: And we talked with one guy who is like a
- 32:40Speaker 1: former like I don't know if he was like an
- 32:44Speaker 1: assistant to a GM somewhere. The guy's down in Florida. Now,
- 32:47Speaker 1: he's got some some experience in the college ranks. I'm
- 32:50Speaker 1: blanking on his name, but he makes a habit of
- 32:54Speaker 1: reporting things on his Facebook page that are really just opinion.
- 32:58Speaker 10: The guy has oh the old offense lying guy. Yes,
- 33:01Speaker 10: I heard you guys talking to him one day a
- 33:02Speaker 10: while ago.
- 33:03Speaker 1: Yes, And he puts things on Facebook. He's like, well,
- 33:06Speaker 1: they're really just meant to like start conversation. It's like,
- 33:08Speaker 1: but you actually have a background in the game, and
- 33:12Speaker 1: I may go ahead and call it like irresponsible or whatever,
- 33:16Speaker 1: but he's like, no, I'm just having some fun, just
- 33:18Speaker 1: trying to like drum up some speculations. So there's a
- 33:21Speaker 1: lot of that stuff out there. But until you get
- 33:25Speaker 1: the official announcement, either from you know, a trusted source
- 33:28Speaker 1: or the team, I don't think a lot of stuff
- 33:30Speaker 1: gets misreported. I think rumors start to take on a
- 33:34Speaker 1: life of their own, but I think most people understand
- 33:37Speaker 1: that they're still.
- 33:37Speaker 10: Just farms and there is always stuff that's going to
- 33:40Speaker 10: go on. Like people are going to say, oh, you know,
- 33:42Speaker 10: the Patriots met with DeAndre Hopkins, and some people are
- 33:44Speaker 10: gonna say, oh, I heard it went really well. They
- 33:46Speaker 10: don't know, like, no one knows that. But for the
- 33:48Speaker 10: most part, I think this has been a pretty straightforward
- 33:52Speaker 10: year in terms of, you know, that kind of stuff,
- 33:55Speaker 10: rumors and whatnot. Now, the other part of the Asante
- 33:58Speaker 10: Samuel part, he he does not like Bill Belichick because
- 34:01Speaker 10: he felt like Bill Belichick was very dishonest with him. Frankly,
- 34:05Speaker 10: I don't really disagree with him.
- 34:06Speaker 1: I think he was.
- 34:07Speaker 10: I think he sort of sold him a bill of
- 34:09Speaker 10: goods about he was sort of assured that he was
- 34:13Speaker 10: going to be back, and then I think that they
- 34:16Speaker 10: kind of got everything they could out of him that
- 34:18Speaker 10: last year and then they turned around and let him go,
- 34:21Speaker 10: and I think he was very resentful for it.
- 34:23Speaker 1: I think he has beef with Bill.
- 34:26Speaker 10: He was a good player. He's a really good player.
- 34:28Speaker 10: He was a good player after he left here too.
- 34:30Speaker 10: He continued to be a Pro Bowl caliber player for
- 34:32Speaker 10: the Eagles. He doesn't like Bill, and I see him
- 34:35Speaker 10: on Twitter all the time sort of bashing Bill, and
- 34:38Speaker 10: he gives Brady all the credit. You don't hear him
- 34:41Speaker 10: necessarily bashing the organization, well, bashing his teammates. Ever, he
- 34:45Speaker 10: doesn't like Bill, Yeah, and it shows.
- 34:48Speaker 4: Yeah, Well it's just becoming his thing now stick do
- 34:51Speaker 4: you enjoy doing the dance? And it's fine? And that's
- 34:54Speaker 4: that's what he's known for now, is the guy who
- 34:55Speaker 4: doesn't like that.
- 34:56Speaker 9: I looked up Josh Jones. It is kind of similar
- 34:58Speaker 9: to he.
- 34:58Speaker 10: Only he started twenty one of his in three years,
- 35:01Speaker 10: you know, twelve, two years ago, nine last year, and
- 35:04Speaker 10: I know he got hurt last year, which is why
- 35:06Speaker 10: he didn't start more than that. But so he's kind
- 35:10Speaker 10: of like Calvin Anderson. Maybe they just maybe that's it.
- 35:12Speaker 10: Maybe it's as simple as that. They think Calvin Anderson
- 35:14Speaker 10: is just as good and he's coming back. Yeah, he
- 35:16Speaker 10: looks like a third tackle. This guy was kind of
- 35:19Speaker 10: made out to be more than this. Josh Jones. Don't
- 35:22Speaker 10: you think was he drafted last week? He was a
- 35:24Speaker 10: first round pick. I think it was. It's the last
- 35:26Speaker 10: year of his Uh well, I don't know if he
- 35:28Speaker 10: was a first round pick, but he was last year
- 35:30Speaker 10: of his rookie deal.
- 35:31Speaker 9: I should say.
- 35:33Speaker 4: I don't know, man. I think they got some issues
- 35:35Speaker 4: though on the offensive line. And I mean, and anybody
- 35:38Speaker 4: you know talking on PU we had ninety eight point
- 35:40Speaker 4: five's Alex Bartfield in Fred stuck around, but we had
- 35:43Speaker 4: a fun show on Thursday. But you know, I think
- 35:45Speaker 4: anybody you talk to right now, it's like, what's your
- 35:47Speaker 4: normal concern the offensive line? I mean, I think you
- 35:49Speaker 4: know everything we talked about with third round pick, you know,
- 35:53Speaker 4: with Bill O'Brien. That's that's exciting that you know, there's
- 35:56Speaker 4: some buzz there about what this offense has looked like,
- 35:58Speaker 4: and you know, just that they look like they're all
- 36:00Speaker 4: on the same page and that the Mac has some
- 36:02Speaker 4: answers now. But it's all or not if if they
- 36:06Speaker 4: can't protect Mac and you know, if he's under duress,
- 36:09Speaker 4: and you know, much less. Like we talked about tonight
- 36:11Speaker 4: not playing. I mean, you know, I saw I mean
- 36:13Speaker 4: I pointed out on the on the fumble where he
- 36:15Speaker 4: got like pile drived after the play, nobody really saw
- 36:18Speaker 4: that too, So he took some shots and.
- 36:19Speaker 10: I wonder, like, I wonder if that has something to
- 36:21Speaker 10: do with it. Yeah, Now, I think you could benefit.
- 36:24Speaker 10: And we talked about this last week in the post
- 36:26Speaker 10: game show. He might have to play with some of
- 36:28Speaker 10: these guys, and I think that you could benefit from
- 36:32Speaker 10: learning how to move around yep, with a little less time.
- 36:35Speaker 10: You know, you don't want to put him in harm's way.
- 36:37Speaker 10: I'm not suggested. Listen, he doesn't have to play tonight.
- 36:40Speaker 10: That's not going to be the end of the world.
- 36:41Speaker 10: I've got no problem with it. But I'm a little surprised.
- 36:44Speaker 10: It seems like the way everybody's reporting it, he's not
- 36:47Speaker 10: playing at all tonight, right. I think Mike Reese has
- 36:50Speaker 10: sort of indicated that. In others, I think Greg Bdard,
- 36:54Speaker 10: Mike Giardi, I'm a little surprised that he wouldn't play
- 36:57Speaker 10: at all. Last year, he played significantly in the second
- 36:59Speaker 10: the third preseason after two days of joints against the raids.
- 37:03Speaker 6: Yeah, you know, yeah, I agree with you, Paul. I
- 37:05Speaker 6: think it's great to not put him in harm's way,
- 37:08Speaker 6: but in the sense of like getting him used to
- 37:11Speaker 6: the chance that you might have to abort mission for
- 37:16Speaker 6: some of the plays because of your off offensive line
- 37:18Speaker 6: not being as good. So I think it's great to
- 37:20Speaker 6: be put in those moments of adversity early so that
- 37:23Speaker 6: he can kind of get all the.
- 37:25Speaker 4: They just don't want it to be too adverse, like
- 37:27Speaker 4: break your leg.
- 37:28Speaker 9: And I listen, I totally get it.
- 37:30Speaker 10: I understand it, and I just feel like the offense
- 37:33Speaker 10: hasn't necessarily shown much consistency and I don't know, can
- 37:38Speaker 10: ten of fifteen plays at least give him a little
- 37:41Speaker 10: bit more, And you know, you might say the benefits
- 37:44Speaker 10: of ten or fifteen more plays.
- 37:47Speaker 1: Aren't worth it.
- 37:48Speaker 4: Yeah, the risk out ways the potential.
- 37:50Speaker 9: Benefits the way that Bill looks at it.
- 37:52Speaker 6: And it's like not to like compare to like the
- 37:54Speaker 6: Steelers for example, but literally Kenny Pickett has gone out
- 37:57Speaker 6: and scored touchdowns on every single drive he's gone out
- 37:59Speaker 6: the preseason, Like cool, yeah, pull them, don't put them
- 38:02Speaker 6: out there, But like we have not seen that from
- 38:04Speaker 6: the offense with the Patriots.
- 38:06Speaker 4: No as and as much as we want to like
- 38:08Speaker 4: ring the bell of oh, they look a lot better.
- 38:09Speaker 4: I mean, yeah, it was better.
- 38:11Speaker 10: I mean they had three drives right, and the only
- 38:13Speaker 10: one they scored on started the eighteen yard line, the
- 38:15Speaker 10: pick seven, and it needed a third down penalty to
- 38:19Speaker 10: avoid pick pick three.
- 38:20Speaker 9: Yeah. Sorry, trademark, cardy.
- 38:23Speaker 4: Yeah, trademark.
- 38:24Speaker 9: But that's all right.
- 38:24Speaker 4: No, it's a great one.
- 38:25Speaker 1: You're allowed to huld sell that.
- 38:26Speaker 4: Do you use that on the sports Hub? Have you
- 38:28Speaker 4: put that into uh? You know, I believe I've heard
- 38:30Speaker 4: out there on that on the sports they should know
- 38:32Speaker 4: about your brilliance.
- 38:33Speaker 9: I probably thread it.
- 38:34Speaker 1: Of course. No. You know, the more you try and
- 38:36Speaker 1: tell somebody that you're brilliant, the less they seem willing
- 38:39Speaker 1: to believe it.
- 38:40Speaker 4: Well, in your case, it's true.
- 38:42Speaker 1: Actually keep telling them. They just don't believe me. Thank you,
- 38:46Speaker 1: Adam in Delaware. Let's go to Delaware. Hi, Adam, Hey,
- 38:51Speaker 1: how you guys doing good? Good? Good good?
- 38:55Speaker 15: So I just had a question about the Mario Douglas
- 38:59Speaker 15: just in our you know, our history. It's just crazy
- 39:01Speaker 15: seeing a rookie receiver get this kind of like veteran
- 39:05Speaker 15: treatment and I wonder like if should he play tonight,
- 39:09Speaker 15: just because like we really haven't seen too much of him,
- 39:12Speaker 15: and I get it, like in the joint practice he's
- 39:14Speaker 15: been great and you know with the team yearls and stuff,
- 39:17Speaker 15: but like, you know what if you know, he just
- 39:19Speaker 15: flatlines pretty much, and then are there going to be
- 39:22Speaker 15: you know, problems or you know, pitchforks, you know, raising
- 39:26Speaker 15: about this guy, Like, hey, you know, why didn't this
- 39:28Speaker 15: guy play more to see if he was actually ready
- 39:30Speaker 15: to go by week one?
- 39:32Speaker 4: Well, I think he's hurt right now. He's dealing with something.
- 39:34Speaker 4: He hasn't really practiced this week, and he was going
- 39:36Speaker 4: up to the upper practice fields to condition, so and I.
- 39:40Speaker 1: Think that's why he didn't play a ton against Green.
- 39:42Speaker 10: Yeah, he might have got on that two yard loss
- 39:44Speaker 10: that he turned into a two yard game, right, you know,
- 39:47Speaker 10: and you know the celebration ensued. I believe he landed
- 39:51Speaker 10: on his shoulder.
- 39:51Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 39:52Speaker 10: You know, I'm not a doctor, but my guess is
- 39:54Speaker 10: that he has some discomfort in the right shoulder. Yeah,
- 39:58Speaker 10: and he didn't really practice this week.
- 40:00Speaker 4: I would just say though generally, like my expectation is
- 40:02Speaker 4: not that like he's going to be third and Long,
- 40:05Speaker 4: he's the fourth or fifth receiver that comes onto the field, Like,
- 40:07Speaker 4: I don't see him playing significant snaps as the third
- 40:11Speaker 4: slot receiver. It's gonna be Parker, Bourne and Juju that's
- 40:14Speaker 4: gonna be the primary three. They're gonna play with the
- 40:16Speaker 4: tight ends a little bit, They're gonna play with the
- 40:17Speaker 4: backs a little bit. But I think early on it's
- 40:20Speaker 4: it's not like we got to get to Mario Douglas ready.
- 40:22Speaker 4: It's just that I think he's gonna all right, it's
- 40:23Speaker 4: third and long tomorrow, that's your package, get out there
- 40:25Speaker 4: and he'll have a quick little y.
- 40:26Speaker 10: I do get Adam's point, because why would you have
- 40:29Speaker 10: a rookie receiver who's trying to learn his way in
- 40:31Speaker 10: the NFL and say we're not going to give him
- 40:33Speaker 10: any snaps in the preseason at all. Yeah, and I
- 40:36Speaker 10: don't think he would. I mean, the joint practices were okay,
- 40:40Speaker 10: but I don't think he was overly involved in those either.
- 40:43Speaker 1: You know, in Green Bay.
- 40:45Speaker 4: Red zone stuff early, but he was stuff.
- 40:47Speaker 9: He was good.
- 40:48Speaker 10: Yeah, he was good, and he's been impressive. I think
- 40:50Speaker 10: throughout camp most days he's shown up.
- 40:53Speaker 1: Yeah, but I think.
- 40:54Speaker 10: This last week now, Adam I think Mike's right. I
- 40:57Speaker 10: think he's banged up, and I don't think we'll see
- 40:58Speaker 10: him tonight.
- 40:59Speaker 1: All right, Okay, thanks Adam, guys, All right, take care,
- 41:03Speaker 1: enjoy the game. Let's go to Miami. Talked to John.
- 41:06Speaker 1: What's up, John? Thanks for calling in the pregame show.
- 41:08Speaker 1: What do you gotty team? Okay, Hardy, I've got something
- 41:13Speaker 1: for you.
- 41:15Speaker 13: You know, your different eyeball related rhymes that you implement
- 41:19Speaker 13: for seeing things on the field.
- 41:20Speaker 9: What's a popular in his ocular?
- 41:22Speaker 1: Yes, What's what's gonna make your cornea hornia tonight when
- 41:27Speaker 1: you're watching the game? Stuff like that? Sure?
- 41:29Speaker 15: Sure, may I submit another one for you?
- 41:33Speaker 1: Please?
- 41:35Speaker 11: What was broadly shown to your rods and cone.
- 41:40Speaker 4: That's the only eyeball you know element that you didn't
- 41:43Speaker 4: have one for.
- 41:43Speaker 1: It's excellent and I do it.
- 41:45Speaker 9: Iris.
- 41:45Speaker 1: I do have to what what's going to cause the
- 41:47Speaker 1: virus in your iris?
- 41:49Speaker 9: Correct?
- 41:49Speaker 4: For pupil?
- 41:50Speaker 1: I do have to nothing rhymes with pupil orange. I
- 41:53Speaker 1: do have to. I do have to give credit to
- 41:56Speaker 1: former Patriots pregame host Adam Jones for years ago coming
- 42:02Speaker 1: up with a rods and cones rhyme, But he took
- 42:05Speaker 1: that with him to his other radio station. It's copyrighted.
- 42:08Speaker 1: I'm not allowed to use it, John, but thank you,
- 42:11Speaker 1: thank you. It's you're good. You're in good company. You
- 42:14Speaker 1: and Jones coming up with that one.
- 42:16Speaker 16: Well fabulous.
- 42:17Speaker 13: It touches my heart.
- 42:18Speaker 12: Thought it was accepted into canon, Yes.
- 42:22Speaker 1: It was. Yeah, it was part of a custody battle,
- 42:25Speaker 1: you know, Jones. Jones got rods and cones. You know,
- 42:28Speaker 1: I took peepers, peeled Lookie Lou popular in the ocular,
- 42:31Speaker 1: all of those.
- 42:33Speaker 9: And it's it's always the puns that get hurt the
- 42:35Speaker 9: most and the divorce.
- 42:37Speaker 1: Yeah, well everybody wants them. Where do you go?
- 42:43Speaker 4: Also a great song in Fan Helen, everybody wants some.
- 42:49Speaker 1: One of those scenes. If you ever watched this movie Tamara,
- 42:51Speaker 1: and you won't.
- 42:52Speaker 10: I think it could be going right now. You could,
- 42:55Speaker 10: oh look at this, how funny? Better off deads? I
- 42:58Speaker 10: think Tomorrow would leave the student. Yeah, yes, so she
- 43:01Speaker 10: couldn't see That is.
- 43:02Speaker 1: A scene in that movie. You were watching it and say, okay,
- 43:06Speaker 1: what what is this? I don't understand it? And it
- 43:09Speaker 1: would make you stop watching it, that scene, it would
- 43:13Speaker 1: wouldn't it?
- 43:13Speaker 4: Well where a claymation Hamburger comes to life and sings
- 43:16Speaker 4: of van halen song?
- 43:17Speaker 1: What's wrong with that? Because the movie was clocking in
- 43:19Speaker 1: at about eighty four minutes and they say, guys, if
- 43:22Speaker 1: we if we want, if we want a theatrical release,
- 43:25Speaker 1: we got attack like six minutes onto this. How about
- 43:28Speaker 1: how about three minutes of his song? Okay, that'll give
- 43:31Speaker 1: us halfway there?
- 43:32Speaker 4: How much we got to pay to get van Halen's
- 43:33Speaker 4: everybody wants.
- 43:34Speaker 1: Them, it'll be worth worth it. Otherwise we don't get them,
- 43:37Speaker 1: you know, the theater release? What is it that you
- 43:41Speaker 1: wanted to see from Mapu tonight? What do you what?
- 43:43Speaker 1: What are you looking for?
- 43:45Speaker 6: Contact? We haven't really been able to see him do
- 43:47Speaker 6: full contact because he's been in a red jersey, So
- 43:49Speaker 6: it'd be great to finally see like we've seen him
- 43:52Speaker 6: and we've heard people talk about how great he is,
- 43:54Speaker 6: how smart he is, he picks up everything fast, like
- 43:56Speaker 6: he can play multiple positions, but like I would actually
- 43:59Speaker 6: really like to see him actually do that, yeah, with
- 44:01Speaker 6: full contact and.
- 44:02Speaker 1: Pats without seeing that contact yere, Yeah, it's hard. Yeah,
- 44:06Speaker 1: how do you choose where you would like him to
- 44:09Speaker 1: play other than just filling the role that is most
- 44:12Speaker 1: needed on this team. So let's say he is that
- 44:15Speaker 1: versatile and he could you know, he proves to be
- 44:19Speaker 1: that guy, where would you play him.
- 44:21Speaker 4: He's going to play strong safety. It's going to be
- 44:23Speaker 4: what he says. I mean, he's going to be a safety,
- 44:25Speaker 4: Like I.
- 44:25Speaker 1: Mean, I don't I'd put him in line.
- 44:26Speaker 4: I mean, yeah, there's there's certainly an argument as a
- 44:29Speaker 4: sub linebacker, sure, but I think you know, if he's
- 44:31Speaker 4: out there every snap and he's playing a lot tonight,
- 44:33Speaker 4: he's going to be probably playing a safety role where
- 44:35Speaker 4: he'll do a little of everything. But I think once
- 44:37Speaker 4: it gets to the regular season, you'll be maybe more
- 44:39Speaker 4: along pause lines, which you know we were. We were
- 44:41Speaker 4: kind of onto Mac Wilson. Not a great game for
- 44:43Speaker 4: him last week, but you know, I think all of
- 44:45Speaker 4: us would be pretty excited to say, hey, let's take
- 44:49Speaker 4: out Mac Wilson as kind of a dime linebacker, you know,
- 44:51Speaker 4: really specific situational guy and put Mapu in there. He's
- 44:54Speaker 4: got some good size and that's what I want to see.
- 44:57Speaker 4: I just I don't feel like until you see a
- 44:58Speaker 4: guy in a game with like Xeon and the pads
- 45:00Speaker 4: and up against the other guys, even if you see
- 45:03Speaker 4: him out there on the practice field that you really
- 45:04Speaker 4: get a sense of what they look like, what they
- 45:06Speaker 4: move like in a game, and that's what that's what
- 45:08Speaker 4: I want to see. I mean, we did see a
- 45:09Speaker 4: little bit in Green Bay he popped Tucker Craft pretty good,
- 45:12Speaker 4: kind of again through the wickets, trying to see it
- 45:14Speaker 4: across the field, But there's been little glimpses. But you know,
- 45:17Speaker 4: I just, like Tamar said, everyone's in pumping him up
- 45:19Speaker 4: about everything he can do. All right, Well, let's actually
- 45:21Speaker 4: get to see like what they're going to have him
- 45:23Speaker 4: do and not just live in this fantasy world of
- 45:25Speaker 4: he's gonna do everything. You know.
- 45:26Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean I love the idea of using him
- 45:30Speaker 1: at linebacker just because you know, somebody who is versatile,
- 45:34Speaker 1: was some speed that can hit. I mean, why wouldn't
- 45:36Speaker 1: you want him in that position?
- 45:38Speaker 10: Yeah. I feel like last week, you know, we talked
- 45:41Speaker 10: about the Packers game when the run defense was kind
- 45:44Speaker 10: of shaky, and I think we all agreed it was bad,
- 45:47Speaker 10: but we all agreed that we didn't really care, like
- 45:49Speaker 10: it wasn't anything long term that we were worried about
- 45:53Speaker 10: because of a couple of reasons. Number one, I just
- 45:56Speaker 10: feel like you can scheme it up and stop the run,
- 45:59Speaker 10: you know, if it's real problem. But more so, you know,
- 46:03Speaker 10: you had Lawrence Guy's out in, Barmore's in who's not
- 46:07Speaker 10: necessarily going to be a run player, and more importantly,
- 46:11Speaker 10: mac Wilson's in for Juwan Bentley. And we had a
- 46:15Speaker 10: great moment Hardy on Tuesday where Mike and Evan and
- 46:19Speaker 10: myself at the same time had like our new surprise
- 46:23Speaker 10: cut candidate, and we all said that at the same time.
- 46:25Speaker 10: Mack Wilson he looked like he was really struggling, and
- 46:28Speaker 10: I wonder if they put him out there.
- 46:32Speaker 1: He's like a third down sub linebacker.
- 46:33Speaker 10: He's a good athlete and occasionally he can make plays,
- 46:36Speaker 10: you know, in that regard. And I wonder if Bill said, Okay,
- 46:40Speaker 10: we know we can do that, but Kenny do anything else?
- 46:42Speaker 10: What if Bentley got hurt, can we put him into it?
- 46:44Speaker 10: We put him in there, and I think that might
- 46:46Speaker 10: have been you know, maybe I'm reading way too much
- 46:48Speaker 10: into it, but that could have been an audition for
- 46:49Speaker 10: him last week, and if it was, I think he
- 46:52Speaker 10: didn't farewell in it. And I wonder if he's expendable,
- 46:56Speaker 10: you put Mapu more as a sub linebacker, you get
- 46:59Speaker 10: a guy like you know, we have like some Bubble
- 47:01Speaker 10: Watch stuff here, just a handful of guys, you know.
- 47:04Speaker 10: I saw Evan you know, had a bunch of guys
- 47:07Speaker 10: this afternoon.
- 47:07Speaker 9: He tweeted out.
- 47:09Speaker 10: Just tend to keep an eye on you know, you
- 47:10Speaker 10: see the Sean Wades, Josh Bledsoe, Ronnie Perkins, those kinds
- 47:13Speaker 10: of guys like I think JJ Taylor is in the
- 47:16Speaker 10: mix at running back right now. I just haven't been
- 47:18Speaker 10: impressed with my guy Kevin Harris, who I've sort of
- 47:21Speaker 10: been wanting to see more of and I haven't really
- 47:23Speaker 10: seen it. So I wonder if JJ Taylor maybe has
- 47:26Speaker 10: put himself in front. We saw a return from Time
- 47:28Speaker 10: Montgomery this week at practice. Is he healthy enough? Can
- 47:32Speaker 10: he get in the mix? I don't know, but I
- 47:35Speaker 10: look at some of these these positions and I wonder,
- 47:38Speaker 10: can you take a Calvin Munson and put him on
- 47:42Speaker 10: special teams, you know, make him like I kind of
- 47:44Speaker 10: had a mere Speed tabbed for one of those special
- 47:46Speaker 10: team spot. I'm not sure there's I'm not you know,
- 47:49Speaker 10: based on Bill's answer to that a mere Speed question
- 47:51Speaker 10: R developmental player, they was kind of dismissive a little bit.
- 47:55Speaker 10: You know, I don't know. I think there is some
- 47:58Speaker 10: bottom of the roster guy tonight. These are the guys
- 48:01Speaker 10: we're going to be looking at a little bubble watch.
- 48:03Speaker 4: Yeah, be curious of peer Strong gets out there. He was,
- 48:06Speaker 4: you know, they can cuss, we think, and then Red
- 48:08Speaker 4: Jersey first practice this week out of the Red Jersey
- 48:10Speaker 4: the second one. So he's he's probably my favorite of
- 48:13Speaker 4: all those guys. I mean, not you know, my personal
- 48:15Speaker 4: but the favorite firm in my eyes to to be
- 48:17Speaker 4: that fourth back maybe with Ramandre and Zeke and Montgomery,
- 48:21Speaker 4: who I still think is going to play a big role.
- 48:23Speaker 1: Yeah, you want to do some uh you want to
- 48:26Speaker 1: do some quarterback talk? Do you want to talk a
- 48:28Speaker 1: little bit of our team?
- 48:29Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 48:29Speaker 4: Yeah, sure, which team? What what are you talking about?
- 48:32Speaker 1: Might as well? I don't know what.
- 48:34Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 48:34Speaker 1: I don't know when Paul has to leave for his
- 48:36Speaker 1: chin wag here, but I believe that's seven o six, Okay.
- 48:40Speaker 4: We got time set all the time in the world,
- 48:42Speaker 4: plenty o time.
- 48:44Speaker 10: So yeah, those are the guys I'm looking at tonight, though,
- 48:46Speaker 10: Like you know, Mapoo I think is a good one.
- 48:48Speaker 10: You know, can we see him, you know, get it,
- 48:49Speaker 10: get involved a little bit. Yep, physically that'd be uh firkser.
- 48:53Speaker 4: I mean, you know for him and Socle like those two,
- 48:56Speaker 4: like like, are they.
- 48:56Speaker 1: Going to be in the mix another one on this list?
- 48:59Speaker 4: You know, I think they need that that role. And
- 49:01Speaker 4: it's just from watching practice. It feels to me like
- 49:05Speaker 4: when they say we're going early down rumwork that that
- 49:08Speaker 4: they're gonna want to have Soco out there with with
- 49:10Speaker 4: Hunter Henry, I think that that might be the duo.
- 49:12Speaker 4: And then you know, you wait till second third down
- 49:14Speaker 4: to get Kisiki involved.
- 49:16Speaker 6: Another guy that I'm wondering if he's going to play tonight, Well,
- 49:20Speaker 6: not going to play tonight because Mapo Mapo. I hope
- 49:23Speaker 6: he does play tonight, but Ezekiel Elliott, I'm like, he
- 49:26Speaker 6: technically hasn't played in a game either, So I'm wondering.
- 49:29Speaker 1: I need to refer you back to my key to
- 49:31Speaker 1: the game. It was in there, Sit E, sit E
- 49:35Speaker 1: for Ezekiel Elliott.
- 49:37Speaker 6: Thank you, thank you for my mind.
- 49:39Speaker 1: Whether it makes sense or not, it fit the pun.
- 49:42Speaker 6: So he's out there, since he said he feels healthy
- 49:47Speaker 6: and he's ready to go.
- 49:48Speaker 1: I'm hoping that, okay?
- 49:50Speaker 6: Or or to Teresa's point, do you put these people
- 49:53Speaker 6: in bubble wrap and he's included in the bubble wrap
- 49:55Speaker 6: group and you just don't play him tonight?
- 49:57Speaker 1: Okay? So JJ Taylor is on that bubble list right now,
- 50:00Speaker 1: you have to know what kind of role Ezekiel Elliott
- 50:03Speaker 1: is going to play unless you're convinced if you know
- 50:06Speaker 1: what he is, even without him not taking any you know,
- 50:09Speaker 1: meaningful reps with this team, then fine, use that to
- 50:12Speaker 1: determine whether or not JJ Taylor is going to have
- 50:14Speaker 1: a spot in this offense. Is that fair? But if
- 50:18Speaker 1: you're if you're not sure, then I think you do
- 50:20Speaker 1: have to play Ezekiel Elliott and find out, you know
- 50:23Speaker 1: what what what he's going to give you? Is he
- 50:28Speaker 1: right now? Paul? If you had to guess, how is
- 50:30Speaker 1: Ezekiel Elliott used in a healthy running back corp for
- 50:35Speaker 1: the Patriots this year?
- 50:36Speaker 10: I think that they will use him as like the
- 50:39Speaker 10: secondary guy and he'll get series here and there. I
- 50:42Speaker 10: think he'll be, you know, a red zone guy, goal
- 50:45Speaker 10: line back, and I think maybe occasionally on third down,
- 50:49Speaker 10: you know, you'll see him out there. My question about
- 50:52Speaker 10: him playing now, whether or not he plays would be conditioning.
- 50:55Speaker 10: You know, he missed a lot of the summer. If
- 50:58Speaker 10: Bill thinks he looks like he's up to speed, then
- 51:01Speaker 10: I see no need to play him tonight. But if
- 51:04Speaker 10: Bill thinks he needs, you know, you could probably benefit
- 51:06Speaker 10: from getting knocked around a couple of times. He getting
- 51:08Speaker 10: three or four carries by all means do it. But
- 51:12Speaker 10: you know, a veteran like him, I don't think like.
- 51:14Speaker 1: Mac Jones is in his third season.
- 51:16Speaker 10: Like to the emailers, the callers point a little, you know,
- 51:20Speaker 10: to Mario Douglas, rookie, like these guys can benefit from
- 51:23Speaker 10: the preseason snaps a healthy and ready to go Ezekiel Elliott,
- 51:28Speaker 10: I don't worry about. But the only thing is and
- 51:31Speaker 10: he even talked about it the other day about you know,
- 51:34Speaker 10: kind of being nancy when he was out and not
- 51:36Speaker 10: necessarily you know, just wanting to get back into playing shape.
- 51:41Speaker 10: And if he feels like he's in playing shape, then
- 51:43Speaker 10: it's fine.
- 51:44Speaker 4: It's a good question that just I'd love to maybe
- 51:47Speaker 4: ask the players I think of it. It's just like
- 51:49Speaker 4: the running backs, do you feel like you need it?
- 51:50Speaker 4: Do you feel like as the as at that position,
- 51:52Speaker 4: because I think you know, I know, playing against the run,
- 51:54Speaker 4: you'd like to see a little contact just to see like,
- 51:56Speaker 4: all right, are we getting a push? Are we able
- 51:57Speaker 4: to get guys down quickly? But it's a running back.
- 52:00Speaker 4: Do you do you want those hits or would you
- 52:01Speaker 4: just say, you know what, Look, I'm gonna take the
- 52:03Speaker 4: ball and I'm gonna run with it. I don't need
- 52:05Speaker 4: to like take any more unnecessary hits then than I
- 52:08Speaker 4: have to take.
- 52:08Speaker 1: I don't know, interesting, I just I think it makes
- 52:11Speaker 1: it a little more complicated when you're talking about guys
- 52:14Speaker 1: like JJ Taylor and you know what they're you know,
- 52:16Speaker 1: what their involvement is going to be, what their availability
- 52:19Speaker 1: is going to be. You know, it impacts a lot
- 52:21Speaker 1: of things. But if you know you know, and you
- 52:23Speaker 1: know how you're going to use them, then it may
- 52:26Speaker 1: not factor it. I just think there are a couple
- 52:28Speaker 1: of instances, rare occasions, when a preseason game can give
- 52:34Speaker 1: you some meaningful information, and this is one of them.
- 52:36Speaker 1: So I think it could be useful.
- 52:39Speaker 6: And I feel like, even in another person in the
- 52:41Speaker 6: running back group, Pierre Strong, it's like we haven't been
- 52:44Speaker 6: able to see some meaningful information because he's been in
- 52:47Speaker 6: concussion protocol allegedly, and so I think that's okay.
- 52:52Speaker 1: He was in concussion program.
- 52:53Speaker 6: So now that he's back, it's like, Okay, are we
- 52:56Speaker 6: gonna get to see enough out of him today to
- 52:58Speaker 6: like potentially help to see if he makes the team.
- 53:01Speaker 4: It's like, I don't know, I think he's a real
- 53:02Speaker 4: X factor. And I mean when we had we had
- 53:04Speaker 4: Barth on the show on Thursday, and and Evan and
- 53:07Speaker 4: Fred were still sticking around and they were both like
- 53:09Speaker 4: really kind of pumping up JJ Taylor and and I
- 53:12Speaker 4: know he looked good last week, but I just I'm like,
- 53:14Speaker 4: if you can't if he couldn't get on the field
- 53:15Speaker 4: last year when they were just add nothing and they
- 53:18Speaker 4: wouldn't play him, like what has happened between then and now?
- 53:21Speaker 4: That makes you think that with and the improved depth
- 53:24Speaker 4: and now he's got a shot, Like I like the
- 53:26Speaker 4: player I.
- 53:26Speaker 9: Just signed Ezekiel, Yeah right, you know, and they.
- 53:31Speaker 4: Did, I mean, they didn't give him a sniff last
- 53:32Speaker 4: year without I mean, they ran Remandre into the ground.
- 53:35Speaker 10: So it's like he fumbled against Tampa and that was
- 53:37Speaker 10: it two years ago. Yeah, and hasn't really been in
- 53:41Speaker 10: the mixed sense because.
- 53:43Speaker 1: He had I mean, I let that sink in for
- 53:45Speaker 1: a second, because that's about right. He fumbled against Tampa
- 53:49Speaker 1: two years ago. I'm gonna look up and he's been
- 53:52Speaker 1: on the pain. This is fourth year.
- 53:56Speaker 4: Because I feel like I by the.
- 53:58Speaker 1: Ways that it's not just a Belichick thing.
- 54:01Speaker 4: Fourth Yeah, because I thought in twenty twenty he had
- 54:04Speaker 4: a game maybe three four games into the season that
- 54:06Speaker 4: would that were pretty good. He had a couple of
- 54:07Speaker 4: big carries I remember, and you felt like maybe there
- 54:09Speaker 4: was something there.
- 54:10Speaker 1: And yeah, but I mean, this is not just a
- 54:13Speaker 1: Belichick thing. Remember Ammondola one time dropped a pass from
- 54:17Speaker 1: Brady like in Week three and he didn't get the
- 54:19Speaker 1: ball again until Week fifteen of the following season. I mean, talk,
- 54:24Speaker 1: it happens to these guys, and I think this case,
- 54:27Speaker 1: it's obviously a case of the coach making the decision.
- 54:30Speaker 1: But I mean it doesn't take much. You fumble the
- 54:33Speaker 1: ball at the wrong time or drop a bass on
- 54:35Speaker 1: the wrong play, and now you're out.
- 54:37Speaker 9: I just out.
- 54:38Speaker 4: I just think he they see him as a good
- 54:40Speaker 4: little practice squad player that can give them a look,
- 54:42Speaker 4: but at the end of the day, when it's third
- 54:44Speaker 4: and long that they're just like we just we can't.
- 54:46Speaker 1: Play a guy who's whatever.
- 54:47Speaker 4: He is five to six.
- 54:48Speaker 1: One eight year He only got in one game last year.
- 54:50Speaker 10: Yeah, ten carries nine yards against Indianapolis, but after the
- 54:56Speaker 10: Tampa Bay game, so that was Week four of twenty
- 55:00Speaker 10: twenty one.
- 55:02Speaker 9: He's played in three games. It's it's he played.
- 55:07Speaker 10: In week seven nine carries twenty one yards. He played
- 55:10Speaker 10: in Week ten, six carries eleven yards, and then he
- 55:13Speaker 10: went from Week ten of twenty one to Week nine
- 55:16Speaker 10: of twenty two without being active, and then played that
- 55:22Speaker 10: one game against the Colts. So he really has not
- 55:25Speaker 10: had a chance to play any meaningful reps since that
- 55:29Speaker 10: that Tampa Bay. I think he caught a screen in
- 55:32Speaker 10: that game and fumbled on it.
- 55:35Speaker 4: I just have a hard time really banging the drum
- 55:38Speaker 4: for yeah, I mean it seems like it.
- 55:41Speaker 9: Seriously.
- 55:41Speaker 1: I mean, he's how many games does he played total?
- 55:48Speaker 1: You're asking or you're just stallings.
- 55:50Speaker 6: Now I got to play depending on availability.
- 55:53Speaker 10: Twelve games in his career, he really has only had
- 55:57Speaker 10: two productive ones. He had four carries for twenty eight
- 56:00Speaker 10: yards in his first game he had six carries for
- 56:04Speaker 10: thirty eight yards, and the blowout loss on the Monday
- 56:06Speaker 10: Night against Buffalo in twenty twenty. Other than that, he's
- 56:10Speaker 10: like below four yards of carry every game, and a
- 56:12Speaker 10: lot of those are below two yards of carry.
- 56:14Speaker 4: That's why Pierre Strong's intriguing to me. I mean, I
- 56:16Speaker 4: I'm with you, and Kevin Harris's been a little disappointed.
- 56:19Speaker 4: I just find it hard to believe they cut Harris
- 56:20Speaker 4: and Strong, like, I think at least one of those guys.
- 56:23Speaker 10: One of those guys stay, and I think it'll be Strong. Yeah,
- 56:25Speaker 10: and you can always you're gonna get the other one
- 56:27Speaker 10: on the practice squad m last year. R.
- 56:29Speaker 1: Yeah, if you want them, he's gonna be on the
- 56:30Speaker 1: practice squad. We're gonna step aside for a moment. We
- 56:33Speaker 1: want to thank Dun'.
- 56:34Speaker 10: Be taking a break already we have allowed holy smoke,
- 56:38Speaker 10: it hasn't even been an hour, but uh, you know it's.
- 56:43Speaker 1: Do you want me to go five more minutes?
- 56:45Speaker 3: Do whatever you want?
- 56:46Speaker 1: No, no, No, We're gonna take a break in. I'm
- 56:48Speaker 1: gonna enjoy some of this Duncan iced coffee. Remember, it's
- 56:53Speaker 1: always game on with Duncan, which is why grabbing a

- 1:01:43Speaker 4: Sorry I was talking to Paul.
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: Let's go chuckles, Thank you Morele just said the most
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: unintentionally funny thing. I won't repeat it, but oh my god,
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: that kid spear it up a little bit.
- 1:01:56Speaker 4: All right, what's going on?
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: Were you would talk about kickers? I want to talk
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: about Nick Folk. Is he gonna make team? Is he
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: gonna be on the practice squad. What's gonna happen with
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: Nick Folk?
- 1:02:04Speaker 4: I love I mean, I think the two in the
- 1:02:06Speaker 4: punters too. I feel like the two rookies have the
- 1:02:08Speaker 4: bigger legs, but they're inconsistent like they've been. I mean,
- 1:02:10Speaker 4: we saw what did we see? Ryland miss three? Was
- 1:02:13Speaker 4: it three kicks?
- 1:02:14Speaker 10: He missed all three on Tuesday and then Folk missed
- 1:02:17Speaker 10: a couple the next day.
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:02:19Speaker 6: Folk, I will say, for a team who heavily relies
- 1:02:22Speaker 6: on field goals because they have red zone issues, you
- 1:02:26Speaker 6: need a consistent kicker, and I'm gonna go with keeping
- 1:02:28Speaker 6: Nick Folk.
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: I you know what, Tamara, before your pick three turns
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: into a pig zero, I'm I'm with you. I like that.
- 1:02:37Speaker 9: What throwing fire, I mean, before its pick three turns.
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: Into a it's sound bite after SoundBite with this, with
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: this Tamara Brown character.
- 1:02:47Speaker 6: Over here, I'm just saying, like last in the red
- 1:02:50Speaker 6: zone efficiency last year, Like.
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: Yeah, do you want to come away with any points?
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: You're gonna find some way you can put, you know,
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: consistently make from thirty five forty four to starting to
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: push Nick fo.
- 1:03:02Speaker 10: I wonder, I wonder if there's been conversations between the
- 1:03:05Speaker 10: team and Folk.
- 1:03:05Speaker 9: Though, you know, like what we're gonna do.
- 1:03:07Speaker 10: We're gonna keep the We're gonna keep the kid, We're
- 1:03:10Speaker 10: gonna cut you, We're gonna put you on the Wow
- 1:03:13Speaker 10: almost on Q on NBC Sports Boston, they're talking about
- 1:03:16Speaker 10: the kicking. You know, we will talk to you, we'll
- 1:03:20Speaker 10: figure out what you know, what you're thinking, and we'll
- 1:03:23Speaker 10: get you on the practice squad if you feel like
- 1:03:25Speaker 10: hanging around, and then that gives you some of that comfort.
- 1:03:28Speaker 10: Now that's dangerous because I think there's a team or two.
- 1:03:32Speaker 10: I've heard some rumblings about Dallas. I've heard some rummings
- 1:03:35Speaker 10: about San Francisco that are right now kind of searching
- 1:03:38Speaker 10: for kickers.
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: And you know, I don't I.
- 1:03:40Speaker 10: Don't think that if I'm Nick Folk, I would probably
- 1:03:42Speaker 10: sign with one of those teams if I had the
- 1:03:44Speaker 10: ability to sign as the kicker.
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: What's the strategy going to be on kickoffs this year?
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: Are they just going to go for the touch back
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: every time? I honestly, I mean, as what's let's talk
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: about it while we can, because I don't know if
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: it's next year the year after, but the kickoff is
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: going away? Yeah, it's I mean it's getting to the
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: point of ridiculousness.
- 1:04:09Speaker 4: Now I have no idea what to expect, Like I
- 1:04:11Speaker 4: just feel like, just kick it out of its on
- 1:04:13Speaker 4: it like, you know, it gets too it gets too
- 1:04:15Speaker 4: dicey trying to like line it up and get them
- 1:04:18Speaker 4: to you know, I don't know, it's it's one of
- 1:04:20Speaker 4: those things. I think you needed to see a game
- 1:04:22Speaker 4: out a little bit, you know, and get into the
- 1:04:23Speaker 4: regular season and I don't know, Paul, what have they
- 1:04:25Speaker 4: been doing on the kicks. I haven't really been paying
- 1:04:27Speaker 4: attention to the kickoffs that much.
- 1:04:29Speaker 6: Well.
- 1:04:29Speaker 10: I think that they've experimented a little bit in the
- 1:04:32Speaker 10: UH in the preseason games. The first one was a
- 1:04:34Speaker 10: squib yep, but since then everything has been in the
- 1:04:38Speaker 10: air more conventional. I think in the preseason you're going
- 1:04:41Speaker 10: to see guys on a lot of times.
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: Those are young guys.
- 1:04:45Speaker 10: They're gonna take them out no matter where they are.
- 1:04:48Speaker 10: In the regular season, I think you're can to see
- 1:04:50Speaker 10: almost all touchbacks because I think, well, even if it
- 1:04:53Speaker 10: doesn't go out, you just put your hand.
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: Up and it's going to be a touchback.
- 1:04:55Speaker 4: Yeah, you're twenty five.
- 1:04:56Speaker 10: So unless it's a low line drive that gets you right,
- 1:05:00Speaker 10: you know, gets on your right away at the five
- 1:05:01Speaker 10: yard line. I think you're going to take the twenty
- 1:05:04Speaker 10: five yard line more often than not. So even just
- 1:05:08Speaker 10: kick him high, make them call for a fair ketch.
- 1:05:10Speaker 10: If they don't call for the fair catch, you have
- 1:05:11Speaker 10: a chance.
- 1:05:12Speaker 4: To hit them.
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: You know them very.
- 1:05:16Speaker 9: And I don't you know.
- 1:05:17Speaker 10: Back to your original question, though, Hardy, I that stat Dad,
- 1:05:21Speaker 10: that's been lingering around now, so you know you're know
- 1:05:23Speaker 10: now you're talking about Jake Andrews and Mafi in Ryland right,
- 1:05:28Speaker 10: they've never cut a fourth round pick who was healthy,
- 1:05:31Speaker 10: Bill Belichick.
- 1:05:33Speaker 9: And that's not a small sample size to.
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: No, that's a lot. Okay, Zappi's starting tonight. That's the word.
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: That's where you're getting that from. I'm getting that from
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: somebody on the ground there getting ready to could be
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: hey me head starting, shut up?
- 1:05:53Speaker 9: How you doing?
- 1:05:54Speaker 6: No?
- 1:05:54Speaker 4: You start?
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: You start?
- 1:05:59Speaker 9: Don't. I thought he was all of a sudden right
- 1:06:01Speaker 9: here he's in the room.
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: They told me exactly what they wanted to get out
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: there because they'll have a beat it Verbaide not question
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: anything that's that's not nice and true. But yeah, it
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: doesn't surprise me if that ends up being the case.
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: I'm sure there will be the case. It's just again,
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: what are we looking for offensively? Then? If it is Zappi,
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: are we looking for the guys to be able to
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: run routes and not be so concerned whether or not
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: the passes actually get complete. We're gonna this is going
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: to force me to watch the game as an actual
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: analyst watching guys. Are they running routes? Are they getting separation?
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: Are they getting open regardless if the ball ends up
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: in their hands or not. Because it is Zappy back there, who,
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: as we discussed, is real good when things go according
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: to plan quickly. Whenever there's a decision to be made
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: or something.
- 1:06:57Speaker 6: Mac is the same way.
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: But Mac at least has the ability to make a
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: decision sometimes and have that the decision be the right one.
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: I haven't, and look to Zappi's. In Zappi's defense, he
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: hasn't had as much opportunity or experience in order to
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: get that confidence. But I'm just saying, in order to
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: like make a decision on some receivers here tonight, or
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: is some things that you're going to do offensively, you
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: have to look a lot harder than just you know,
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: completion percentage. You're gonna have to look at how guys
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: are out there moving regardless of, you know, whether they
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: end up getting the ball.
- 1:07:35Speaker 4: Do you think there's an element of you know, just
- 1:07:37Speaker 4: as an example like vaybel hearing that Patriots are going
- 1:07:40Speaker 4: to play their starts tonight, and now Vrabel might say,
- 1:07:42Speaker 4: you know what, I don't need my starting defensive line
- 1:07:44Speaker 4: to go out there and just absolutely maul the Patriots
- 1:07:47Speaker 4: backup offensive line. I'd rather put maybe my backups out there.
- 1:07:50Speaker 4: And like, is there any kind of like jockeying that
- 1:07:53Speaker 4: way or do you think they have a plan.
- 1:07:54Speaker 10: I think you have to do Yeah. I think you
- 1:07:55Speaker 10: have to do what's best for your team. I do
- 1:07:57Speaker 10: think and I know that Bill is sort of come
- 1:08:01Speaker 10: back against this, but I think he's being a little
- 1:08:04Speaker 10: disingenuous about it. I think the coaches often talk before
- 1:08:09Speaker 10: preseason games and sort of get an idea of how
- 1:08:12Speaker 10: they're going to handle it, and I think that's sometimes
- 1:08:14Speaker 10: when you see I think Bill last year was a
- 1:08:16Speaker 10: little upset with Brian Dable for the amount of blitzing
- 1:08:20Speaker 10: that they did. I think when you see that, that's
- 1:08:21Speaker 10: sometimes it runs counter to what they had talked about.
- 1:08:24Speaker 10: Now Bill says that doesn't happen.
- 1:08:26Speaker 4: But I think you've written agreement.
- 1:08:27Speaker 9: I think that's why I say it's not a lie.
- 1:08:31Speaker 10: But I think like, all right, you know you're playing
- 1:08:34Speaker 10: You're gonna play you one, Okay, all right, well let's
- 1:08:37Speaker 10: not I'm gonna play my twos. You know, let's not
- 1:08:41Speaker 10: embarrass them those kind of deals, especially blitzing them. Yeah,
- 1:08:46Speaker 10: right sentence, and I'm not and I'm not and I'm
- 1:08:50Speaker 10: not picking that dable, but you know, like that's my
- 1:08:52Speaker 10: point is. I do think that they kind of have
- 1:08:54Speaker 10: an idea of how each team is going to approach
- 1:08:57Speaker 10: the game personnel wise, and then it's, like Mike said,
- 1:09:00Speaker 10: it's an unwritten thing. Yeah, all right, they're gonna have
- 1:09:03Speaker 10: Trace mcshirley out there the whole second half. I probably
- 1:09:06Speaker 10: don't need to be sending any blitzes, you know, like to.
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: Kill the kid.
- 1:09:10Speaker 10: Yeah, you know, my offensive line is down, you know,
- 1:09:13Speaker 10: seven players, six players.
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: And and without the benefit of the of the of
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: the joints to work some of this stuff out. I
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: think that, you know, it could it could go either way.
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: Maybe you don't have as much of an agreement with
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: the opposing coach, maybe you have more in an agreement
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: saying like, hey, you know, I know and didn't get
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: a chance to talk to you this week, but here's
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: what I'm thinking for tonight. You do whatever you want,
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: but how does this sound? You know, it doesn't have
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: to be like.
- 1:09:37Speaker 10: You're not telling the other team what to do. You're
- 1:09:39Speaker 10: telling them what I think and what do you think?
- 1:09:42Speaker 9: Right?
- 1:09:43Speaker 4: And that's why I was just trying to put myself
- 1:09:45Speaker 4: in in Rabels shoes a little bit, because, you know,
- 1:09:47Speaker 4: to be frank, like, if the Patriots are playing all
- 1:09:49Speaker 4: their backups on the offensive line, and Vrabel's like, well,
- 1:09:52Speaker 4: we got to ge Jeffrey Simmons some work, Like they're
- 1:09:55Speaker 4: probably not going to get much accomplished in the Patriots
- 1:09:57Speaker 4: offense with that defensive line, you know, come and crack
- 1:10:00Speaker 4: in on Zapy. So I guess we'll just see how
- 1:10:03Speaker 4: it plays out. But I would guess they're not going
- 1:10:05Speaker 4: to play their superstars like they're really really good guys,
- 1:10:08Speaker 4: you know, like I hold Trent Brown out, I'd play
- 1:10:10Speaker 4: the rookie, you know.
- 1:10:12Speaker 10: For Tennessee, it's all about what they feel like they need,
- 1:10:14Speaker 10: you know, And I think that Bill, I think part
- 1:10:17Speaker 10: of the reason why not as many front line guys
- 1:10:20Speaker 10: are going because of that, because of the offensive line.
- 1:10:25Speaker 6: And back to your question, Hardy of like what are
- 1:10:27Speaker 6: you looking for? Like for me?
- 1:10:29Speaker 4: For me?
- 1:10:29Speaker 6: I think with Zappi in there, I think I'm just
- 1:10:31Speaker 6: looking for like good flow, rhythm, like communication, like no, no,
- 1:10:37Speaker 6: Like what do they call them?
- 1:10:39Speaker 10: Medicine balls? Is that what they call them?
- 1:10:44Speaker 6: Like?
- 1:10:44Speaker 9: None of those can't suit through a medicine, None.
- 1:10:49Speaker 6: Of those because already, you know, being down Trey Nixon
- 1:10:53Speaker 6: and Taekwon Thornton, you can't afford any more injuries like that.
- 1:10:57Speaker 4: Yeah, well that's a good point. I mean that is
- 1:11:00Speaker 4: you're going to get a whole lot of booty and.
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: Don't throw anybody. It's a harm's way. Yes, don't want.
- 1:11:05Speaker 4: Cunningham and thyrec picks pits pits pits thick thick thyrec
- 1:11:11Speaker 4: booty And.
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: Wow, my god, what's going on? He just puts he
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: puts a smile on his face.
- 1:11:17Speaker 9: Hard he's the he's like the baby face assassin.
- 1:11:21Speaker 10: He is just like everybody loves a handsome I'm smiling,
- 1:11:26Speaker 10: but I'm saying inappropriate.
- 1:11:28Speaker 4: Things appropriate, making fun of the team. Bad caddying, bad
- 1:11:34Speaker 4: caddy or caddying can't.
- 1:11:36Speaker 6: Afford any more injury wearing to max weapons no more,
- 1:11:41Speaker 6: because then, at this rate, we won't even talk about
- 1:11:43Speaker 6: bubble guys, because there'll be plenty of room for these
- 1:11:45Speaker 6: guys in the roster if anybody else gets hurt.
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: It was theorized earlier this week that the Patriots actually
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: have too many receivers.
- 1:11:54Speaker 9: What are we to do?
- 1:11:56Speaker 12: Laugh?
- 1:11:57Speaker 4: What do we do?
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: I believe that was a ben volne Oh my god,
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: I wish Patriots have too many? You know what they do?
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: They have a lot of receivers right now. The problem
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: is now and and I think they do have some
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: good receivers. I think the problem is if you have
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: a long conversation about who your number one is, the
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: true answer is you probably don't have a clear cut
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: number one, which is not to say somebody can't emerge
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: and become that guy. And you see, you know, players
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: elevate early on in seasons sometimes and somebody might emerge
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: as oh, I use your clear cut number one. But
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: based on what we have right now, it's difficult for
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: me to say, ah, they just got too many right now.
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: There's there's two ways of looking at that. Too many
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: good guys. I don't want to cut any of them.
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: And then it's like, I don't know which of these
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: guys beyond you know, one, two, and three you can
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: probably come up with pretty easily. Beyond that, who's going
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: to really be able to contribute in meaningful ways?
- 1:12:53Speaker 4: I mean, just go back to what everybody says, they
- 1:12:55Speaker 4: got a bunch of two and twos and threes, like
- 1:12:56Speaker 4: you need all.
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: Of them, Like you know what I mean, But you
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: don't need all You don't need all of them.
- 1:13:02Speaker 9: I think they have.
- 1:13:05Speaker 10: I think they have Juju Parker and Born Right, Okay,
- 1:13:08Speaker 10: I don't think anybody would argue whether or not they're
- 1:13:10Speaker 10: good enough to be NFL players. No, right, No, do
- 1:13:14Speaker 10: you know for sure that Kaishawn Boody's an NFL player?
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: No?
- 1:13:17Speaker 10: Do you know that Malie Cunningham is an NFL wide receiver?
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: No?
- 1:13:20Speaker 9: No, is Diyrek Pitts an NFL wide receiver?
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: Like I don't.
- 1:13:24Speaker 10: I'm not telling you they're not these guys. I'm telling
- 1:13:26Speaker 10: you they might be worth developing. To Mario Douglas, these guys,
- 1:13:30Speaker 10: they might be worth putting in some time and effort
- 1:13:32Speaker 10: to see. I think Douglas is I think Thornton is.
- 1:13:35Speaker 10: I think he has NFL skills, But to suggest that
- 1:13:38Speaker 10: they have too many receivers is patently absurd.
- 1:13:42Speaker 9: They don't.
- 1:13:42Speaker 10: They don't have anywhere close to too many receivers. They
- 1:13:45Speaker 10: have a bunch of guys that are possibly NFL caliber.
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: But guys still on the roster listed as receiver.
- 1:13:53Speaker 9: But not necessarily NFL receivers.
- 1:13:58Speaker 10: Would you be surprised if those those guys don't have
- 1:14:01Speaker 10: any impact at all this year? Like the top three
- 1:14:04Speaker 10: No Boy and Tony Douglas, Pitts, Cunningham, would you be
- 1:14:09Speaker 10: surprised if all four of those guys don't make an impact.
- 1:14:11Speaker 4: I mean, that's honest to be. That's what I'm expecting.
- 1:14:13Speaker 4: I'm not expecting a huge.
- 1:14:14Speaker 10: Like I think Douglas could have an impact. The other three,
- 1:14:17Speaker 10: I'm not expecting anything exactly.
- 1:14:19Speaker 4: That's why I feel the same way. And like what
- 1:14:20Speaker 4: I said earlier about Douglas, I think he is your fourth,
- 1:14:23Speaker 4: fifth receiver on third and long and he goes out
- 1:14:25Speaker 4: there and you know, and he'll have some catches on that.
- 1:14:27Speaker 4: But I just I mean, look at I mean, right
- 1:14:29Speaker 4: now you're looking at Kenrick. Bourne's played really well the
- 1:14:31Speaker 4: last you know, two weeks. But like an injury to
- 1:14:33Speaker 4: Kendrick Bourne, like like an injury to Parker, like it
- 1:14:36Speaker 4: instantly changes the dynamic and now you're thinking, like, oh,
- 1:14:39Speaker 4: we got to play Tomorrio Douglas full time now like that,
- 1:14:43Speaker 4: like it just totally changes the dynamic. So I think
- 1:14:46Speaker 4: they need those three guys. They we said going into
- 1:14:48Speaker 4: camp they needed Taekwon Thornton. I mean another you know,
- 1:14:51Speaker 4: disappointing summer for him. So, h hey, this is.
- 1:14:56Speaker 10: An example of what you might have too many receivers. Okay,
- 1:15:00Speaker 10: Garrett Wilson, Alan Lazzard, Mikole Hardman, Randall Cobb, and Corey
- 1:15:05Speaker 10: Davis ends up retiring. Yeah, Corey Davis probably wasn't going
- 1:15:09Speaker 10: to have a big role. He's an NFL caliber.
- 1:15:13Speaker 9: Is he a star?
- 1:15:14Speaker 6: No?
- 1:15:14Speaker 9: Is he a pro bowler?
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: Probably not, But he's an NFL player.
- 1:15:19Speaker 9: Predrick Bourne, do you know what I mean?
- 1:15:23Speaker 10: And he probably saw the writing on the wall that
- 1:15:25Speaker 10: he was going to be on the outside looking in,
- 1:15:27Speaker 10: and he decided to retire.
- 1:15:29Speaker 9: He had enough. That's having too many receivers.
- 1:15:32Speaker 19: Not.
- 1:15:33Speaker 10: Do you think Kashawn Booty is on the team. I
- 1:15:35Speaker 10: think he probably is because they the opposite of too
- 1:15:38Speaker 10: many receivers.
- 1:15:39Speaker 9: They don't have enough.
- 1:15:41Speaker 10: And I think he's worth you know, is this last
- 1:15:44Speaker 10: little week, week and a half, two weeks? Is that
- 1:15:46Speaker 10: a side of things to come? Is he getting better?
- 1:15:48Speaker 10: Is he worth developing?
- 1:15:50Speaker 9: Sure?
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:15:50Speaker 9: The Malie Cunningham thing to me is I don't get
- 1:15:54Speaker 9: that one.
- 1:15:54Speaker 10: I want to see him try to develop as a
- 1:15:57Speaker 10: quarterback and see if there's anything there. Now I'm telling
- 1:16:00Speaker 10: he's going to be, but I've kind of seen the
- 1:16:06Speaker 10: I've been unimpressed so far. As a wide receiver, I
- 1:16:08Speaker 10: haven't really seen anything.
- 1:16:09Speaker 4: No, he didn't catch the ball.
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: I mean, I mean they were zero for five trying
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: to throw the ball to him last week.
- 1:16:14Speaker 4: You know, the drop him practice Thursday.
- 1:16:18Speaker 10: Yeah, it's if I was going to put him on
- 1:16:19Speaker 10: the practice squad, I'd want him to try to develop
- 1:16:22Speaker 10: into a quarterback.
- 1:16:23Speaker 4: I just I don't get it with Cunningham. I feel
- 1:16:25Speaker 4: like it's a game of telephone where he had a
- 1:16:27Speaker 4: good game and people talked about him, and now that
- 1:16:29Speaker 4: there's just this like sentiment out there that this is
- 1:16:31Speaker 4: like a player that the Patriots absolutely could not get
- 1:16:33Speaker 4: through to the practice squad based on what like I
- 1:16:36Speaker 4: I mean, he seems like he's got some promise, but
- 1:16:38Speaker 4: I have.
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: No I think he has a lot of promise, and
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: I'd like to see him play because I think he
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: could probably be a no he could be like a dynamic,
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: entertaining presence out there. But I think his best value
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: to the team right now is on the practice squad
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: as the scout guy emulating mobile quarterbacks that they're going
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: to be facing. Oh, I don't know week.
- 1:17:02Speaker 4: One, I mean, and that's and that's the thing.
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: You could just go down the roster and pick guys
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: out like throughout the schedule. It's like, oh, Malik would
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: be good to help the defense get ready for that
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: guy and that guy, and that I mean Jalen Hurts.
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: It's just the obvious week one.
- 1:17:16Speaker 4: And that's what they've been doing. I mean, that's you know,
- 1:17:18Speaker 4: in practice this week what he does. You're early on
- 1:17:20Speaker 4: it's the it's like kind of the starting defensive front
- 1:17:23Speaker 4: seven guys and there's Malie Cunningham with the backups, and
- 1:17:26Speaker 4: that's all they're doing read option stuff all day long.
- 1:17:29Speaker 4: So you know that that continues to be what I
- 1:17:31Speaker 4: see as this primary use. They've been trying them in
- 1:17:33Speaker 4: a lot of stuff and I'd love to see him
- 1:17:34Speaker 4: at quarterback tonight. It would make it would make tonight fun.
- 1:17:37Speaker 4: But I I just I still haven't seen enough that
- 1:17:39Speaker 4: makes me think that they win.
- 1:17:40Speaker 10: If ZAPPI starting, I don't know. Maybe that means we
- 1:17:43Speaker 10: won't see him tonight as quarterback. I do know if
- 1:17:46Speaker 10: it was just Zappy and mix m.
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: Yeah, cunning not to pick on Volin, but he did
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: right that. NFL teams typically keep five receivers. Patriots right
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: now have seven guys who can make a case. I
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: don't think that that's born, you know, pretty much locked in,
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: Douglas in Booty have thrived in camp and seem to
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: have one roster spots. Cunningham is a long way to.
- 1:18:14Speaker 9: Go, So why does he have a case.
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: But he has likely shown enough versatility as a quarterback
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: and special team or to make the team.
- 1:18:23Speaker 10: So that's not as a wide receiver then, But what
- 1:18:25Speaker 10: what do you list him as?
- 1:18:27Speaker 9: What he's listed at right now is quarterback on the roster.
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: I don't know, right yeah, but he's not going to
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: make the team as a quarterback.
- 1:18:36Speaker 9: He's not going to make the team period.
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: I don't listen. I'm with it.
- 1:18:42Speaker 10: I've been wrong I've been wrong a million times and
- 1:18:44Speaker 10: and I'm and I'm okay with it. Listen, if I
- 1:18:47Speaker 10: had the information then like I wouldn't be wrong. I'm
- 1:18:51Speaker 10: telling you my so you know my feeling. I don't
- 1:18:53Speaker 10: think he will make the team. And I definitely don't
- 1:18:56Speaker 10: think he's going to make the team as a wide receiver.
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: He said. The one question mark because Taekwon Thornton, last
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: year's second round pick, who seems to have fallen by him.
- 1:19:03Speaker 9: So well, that's how how is he?
- 1:19:05Speaker 4: Question? And Cunningham has a case when he hasn't even
- 1:19:08Speaker 4: caught a pass in it. That's not even close, even
- 1:19:11Speaker 4: like their performances in training camp is not even close.
- 1:19:14Speaker 10: Thornton's been far more impressive. He's been far more impressive
- 1:19:17Speaker 10: than Booty in training camp.
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: All right, Paul off.
- 1:19:23Speaker 4: You go, oh here, we are just the two of us.
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: We are here, We are here, We are here talking
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: Patriots with you. You're welcome to join us. Eight five
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: to five PATS five hundred. Also like thank Bridgetone, official
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: tire of the New England Patriots, proud departner with Sullivan Tire,
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: New England's headquarters for quality Bridgetone Tires visit sullivantire dot
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: com to find a location near you.
- 1:19:47Speaker 4: They're like kN sullivan Tire.
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: There are kin Yes. Do you watch the television show Billions?
- 1:19:54Speaker 4: I wish I did. I don't know. No, I'm familiar
- 1:19:57Speaker 4: with it though, Okay, yeah.
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: You don't have to. Yeah, And I have been called
- 1:20:03Speaker 1: cranky curmudgeonly, don't like anything not true. I enjoy a
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: great many things in this topsy turvy world and in
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: this thing we call life. I do. I enjoy things
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: in life. What I find I am enjoying less and
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: less are the final seasons of programs or the later
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: seasons of programs that I enjoy at the beginning. And
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: my two best examples of this are Billions, which I
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: think is demonstrating in the last two seasons has gone
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: on two seasons too long. The pithy banter back and forth,
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: the number of pop culture references that get sprinkled into
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: normal conversations. It is. It's more mind numbing than the
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: Patriots pregame show.
- 1:20:52Speaker 9: With us.
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: At least we keep it to Jaws, the Godfather and
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: better often right, It's just that's pretty much it. And
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: the other one I have to say, Yellowstone, Oh, somebody
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: mentioned Yellowstone the other day. I gotta say I was
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: in on it from the beginning. I thought it was compelling.
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: I thought it was dark. I'm like, oh, this is cool.
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: This is not your typical Western. This has a couple
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: of different elements to it. And I dig it. It
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: has turned into the weirdest type of like cowboy porn.
- 1:21:27Speaker 4: Oh yeah, that's what you said, stop short, stop short
- 1:21:29Speaker 4: with the horse like all this stuff.
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: And I heard someone else talking about it last night
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: and I brought up Billions and were like, yeah, a
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: great show. I'm like, it was until it just turned
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: it into the same thing over and over again. I'm like,
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: aren't you bored? Aren't you tired with it?
- 1:21:42Speaker 4: It's so hard to wrap a show. I find my side, like, look,
- 1:21:45Speaker 4: I fell out of Yellowstone because you turned me onto
- 1:21:47Speaker 4: it with the cowboy porn thing. I'm like, I got
- 1:21:48Speaker 4: to check this out. And I saw the horses stopping
- 1:21:50Speaker 4: short and you know, like slow motion that the hoofs
- 1:21:53Speaker 4: digging into the dirt. And Tyler Sheridan, the guy that
- 1:21:58Speaker 4: wrote it, he's, you know himself, a nice cool guy
- 1:22:01Speaker 4: part for it. But I felt I fell out on that.
- 1:22:03Speaker 4: I fell out I fell out of a lot of dramas.
- 1:22:06Speaker 4: I know people probably have Game of Thrones opinions about
- 1:22:08Speaker 4: how that wrapped up, But yeah, it's hard to do.
- 1:22:12Speaker 4: It's hard to do in a way that you know,
- 1:22:14Speaker 4: you just kind of run out of steam. And as
- 1:22:16Speaker 4: much as like you know, everybody wants to write TV
- 1:22:18Speaker 4: shows and because you have more creative freedom, but it's
- 1:22:20Speaker 4: like it gets so long and it's like a ton
- 1:22:22Speaker 4: of issue and at the end you're like, man, we
- 1:22:23Speaker 4: got so much, how do we how do we wrap
- 1:22:25Speaker 4: this thing up? I haven't seen a lot of satisfying
- 1:22:27Speaker 4: TV show endings, especially dramas.
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, and this is gonna rub a lot
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: of the people the wrong way, because this is another
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: argument I had last night. There was somebody who sitting
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: having dinner with us who started watching The Sopranos. A
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: younger person said it was boring. I couldn't get through
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: the first season, and a couple of the older guys
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: are like, oh, those guys an idiot. I said, you
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: know what, at the time, it was groundbreaking television like
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: that didn't exist. You would have an hour long drama
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: once a week, and it was beautifully written, wonder fully
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: acted for the most part. And if you get past
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: Gandalfeini and uh Edie Falco and I guess Christopher, uh
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: I forget the actor's name played Christopher. You get beyond that,
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: you kind of had a bunch of people who weren't
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: what's the word I'm looking for, grated acting? And and
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: it it's a problem when you're putting up What if
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: you're twenty five years old and you've watched Breaking Bad
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: and Better Call Saul, and you watch Game of Thrones,
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: you watch all this stuff, go back and watch the
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: Sopranos from the beginning. I'm not gonna hate you for saying,
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: what's the big deal about this show? It kind of
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: sucks and there's some really bad episodes in it, Like yeah,
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: I know, Matt.
- 1:23:43Speaker 2: I don't agree. I think they acted it perfectly. Then
- 1:23:46Speaker 2: the bad acting is supposed to be bad acting. They're
- 1:23:49Speaker 2: stupid mobsters.
- 1:23:51Speaker 4: I supposed to be But you don't, uh I I
- 1:23:55Speaker 4: like I just I Michael imp Oh.
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: He's fantastic. He was great in that role. It was wonderful.
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: Some of the other guys, though, I questioned time to time.
- 1:24:06Speaker 3: Like season one, A, lots it picks up in season two.
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: He was great, you know, early on, but unfortunately spoiler alert,
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: he doesn't stay with us for the entire series.
- 1:24:15Speaker 4: I tried, actually, I never I've never seen all the Sopranos,
- 1:24:18Speaker 4: and recently I tried to jump in and I don't know.
- 1:24:20Speaker 4: I wasn't able to like catch the wave and blast
- 1:24:23Speaker 4: through them all. I kind of faded out.
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: I'll tell you one season. I'll tell you as we
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: have our as we have our fun time. This is
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: when the mice play while Polly Paul cats away Ozark.
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: As ridiculous as it got at the end, I'm like,
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: at some point, do you don't you just say no,
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: I'm not going to do this anymore. As ridiculous as
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: it got, still ended pretty strong. I think I think
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: they finished pretty strong with that. And Peaky Blinders, a
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: relatively recent show.
- 1:24:49Speaker 4: God, I've been terrible. I've fallen out of TV.
- 1:24:52Speaker 1: Really, Yeah, you're gonna watch all these things?
- 1:24:55Speaker 4: I know someday.
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: Okay, Well, oh, why there's Zeke White load Well, I
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: watch White Lotus and I was gonna bring that up
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: because I like that as not having to worry about
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: how do we wrap up seven seasons?
- 1:25:06Speaker 4: It's just each season is its own thing, and you
- 1:25:08Speaker 4: can kind of jump in and you know what, it's
- 1:25:09Speaker 4: gonna kind of be tonally yeah, and you have some
- 1:25:11Speaker 4: fun and you get out and you don't have to
- 1:25:12Speaker 4: worry about all right. Next season we got a cliffhanger,
- 1:25:15Speaker 4: and then we got to figure this out. Like it's
- 1:25:16Speaker 4: just nice and contained. Maybe a couple threads you carry
- 1:25:19Speaker 4: over all.
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: Right, there we go. Warm up's happening right now, Ezekiel Elliott,
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: helmet off, he's playing.
- 1:25:24Speaker 4: See right, there's where I put the cheat sheet and
- 1:25:27Speaker 4: I got a cheat on a test. That's right now.
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: Oh god, this thing is tight? Are they supposed to
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: be this tight?
- 1:25:32Speaker 4: I don't like these helmets, though, I like. I mean,
- 1:25:34Speaker 4: I'll due respect to Zeke.
- 1:25:35Speaker 9: I don't know.
- 1:25:35Speaker 4: I just something bugs me about not having the top bar.
- 1:25:37Speaker 4: It just looks like it's gonna like the face. The
- 1:25:40Speaker 4: shield's gonna get crushed in if it were to happen
- 1:25:42Speaker 4: to catch the wrong way. But I think that's just
- 1:25:44Speaker 4: what he's doing, all right.
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: I think he's been doing this. Shut up, dues, it's
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: gonna be all. He's gonna be alright, Stevenson, he got
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: Remandre there and Ezekiel Elliott I mean that seems to
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: be the whole plan there, the little tandem take some
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: of the plate off for Ramandre, and I like it.
- 1:26:02Speaker 4: I like it. I think Zeke's so could, you know.
- 1:26:04Speaker 4: I obviously haven't really ever gotten to look up close
- 1:26:06Speaker 4: at him, but I just he's got a little wiggled
- 1:26:08Speaker 4: him for a big guy that that kind of struck
- 1:26:10Speaker 4: me a little bit. When he gets through the line,
- 1:26:11Speaker 4: he just he's got a little shake and cut and
- 1:26:13Speaker 4: go and and you know, as we were talking about it,
- 1:26:16Speaker 4: I'm just intrigued to see him live and see how
- 1:26:18Speaker 4: it works some guys are trying to tackle and how
- 1:26:20Speaker 4: strong does he look when guys are really trying to
- 1:26:22Speaker 4: get him to the ground.
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: I love guys who think they might have a little
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: something to prove. Maybe he's got a little something to
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: prove to himself, maybe to prove to the Cowboys who
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: didn't want to give him another deal that he felt
- 1:26:31Speaker 1: was worthy of his talents and all the contributions he
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: has made to that team. Now, you could argue the
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: Cowboys looked at the situation and said, we gave you
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: offensive line after offensive and after offensive line. No offense, Zeke,
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: but a lot of running backs could have done what
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: you did at the point he kept But for if
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: you're Ezekiel Elliott and you know that your talent, didn't
- 1:26:56Speaker 1: you know that you're you know, a special player in
- 1:26:58Speaker 1: the NFL. Now's your talent and prove them wrong because
- 1:27:02Speaker 1: the offensive line you have now is not like the
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: ones you had in Dallas.
- 1:27:05Speaker 4: Yeah right, well, I just you know, I don't see
- 1:27:08Speaker 4: why not. It's not like he's thirty three or something,
- 1:27:10Speaker 4: you know, like like twenty eight. Like let's let's just
- 1:27:12Speaker 4: be a Patriots fan. Let's suspend you know what the
- 1:27:15Speaker 4: common narrative is right now that he's that he might
- 1:27:17Speaker 4: be washed or whatever. And I mean he's looked, he's
- 1:27:20Speaker 4: looked good. He's got to be a little bit motivated.
- 1:27:22Speaker 4: I forget how old Corey Dillon was when he was
- 1:27:24Speaker 4: here in O four. But I mean it's you know,
- 1:27:26Speaker 4: it's not totally totally different, same kind of situation.
- 1:27:28Speaker 1: It's not. It's just the the they're hard years on
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: running backs. It is these guys.
- 1:27:34Speaker 4: Well, I mean even with Dylan, you know that the
- 1:27:36Speaker 4: falloff you saw from like five four to five to six.
- 1:27:40Speaker 4: Then when it was you know, sure within two years
- 1:27:42Speaker 4: it was it was no more.
- 1:27:44Speaker 1: It's unbelievable. It's like miles on a car. It's like,
- 1:27:46Speaker 1: you run for sixteen hundred yards one season. Great, can
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: you do that again? Oh no, I only have so
- 1:27:52Speaker 1: many yards in this running back body, and I just
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: use sixteen hundred of them in one season.
- 1:27:58Speaker 4: Do you think with the best and line, do you
- 1:28:00Speaker 4: think you could take one carry up the middle for
- 1:28:03Speaker 4: a yard for me?
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:28:05Speaker 4: Like like a normal dude could. Like I just I
- 1:28:08Speaker 4: can't even imagine, like how you deal with getting tackled
- 1:28:11Speaker 4: like that by those guys, and how you don't break
- 1:28:13Speaker 4: your leg every single time.
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: I don't look. I heard this put out there years
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: ago by somebody who said, if you play one set
- 1:28:22Speaker 1: of downs or one series one you know, entire series
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: as alignment in the NFL, your body will never be
- 1:28:32Speaker 1: the same.
- 1:28:33Speaker 4: I did it in high school, and I felt kind
- 1:28:34Speaker 4: of that way. I was like I never wanted I
- 1:28:36Speaker 4: got stuck at playing tackle because we had nobody, and
- 1:28:38Speaker 4: I'm like, this is miserable, Like this is I want
- 1:28:40Speaker 4: to touch the ball.
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: I want to have fun.
- 1:28:41Speaker 4: It's it's just lining up and fighting a guy for
- 1:28:43Speaker 4: you know, sixty minutes, right.
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: And you but you can't ask alignment about it because
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: I asked Mike Flynn this once. I'm like, do you
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: think that's true? And he's like, no, I mean, you
- 1:28:52Speaker 1: get to the NFL and it's a different game. But
- 1:28:54Speaker 1: here's a guy who played college ball. He was always big,
- 1:28:58Speaker 1: he was always strong. Yeah, and he just had to
- 1:29:01Speaker 1: get bigger and stronger, you know, in those years in Baltimore.
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: And but I think they do themselves a disservice when
- 1:29:09Speaker 1: they realize just what a toll it takes on the bodies.
- 1:29:14Speaker 1: So I know that's I've kind of got off topic there,
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: But yeah, give me a great offensive line.
- 1:29:19Speaker 4: And pick up a yard.
- 1:29:22Speaker 1: You know what, if I was half the man I
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: was ten years ago, I'd take a flamethrow to this
- 1:29:28Speaker 1: place and yeah, I'd get you that yard today, age
- 1:29:32Speaker 1: fifty two. No, no, no.
- 1:29:35Speaker 4: The thought of just being tackled even by like a
- 1:29:37Speaker 4: like a toddler right now, that would be that would
- 1:29:40Speaker 4: be painful.
- 1:29:40Speaker 1: But my daughter is a little too rough with me
- 1:29:43Speaker 1: right now. She's maybe one hundred and five pounds maybe
- 1:29:48Speaker 1: sixteen though right she's she's got she inherited that pool
- 1:29:53Speaker 1: of wiry hillbilly's strength. Yeah, that comes from the all
- 1:29:56Speaker 1: you can't have that, oh my can that comes from Appalachia?
- 1:30:00Speaker 1: That that'll be, That'll be generations and genera generations before
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: that's out of the bloodline. She's got it and I
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: don't like it. She wants to scrap. I'm like, no, no, no,
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: not not anymore. And it's no, no, no more fun.
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: All right, we'll go back to phones here eight five
- 1:30:16Speaker 1: to five, Pats five hundred, Tony in Canada. Tony, what's up, hey, guys.
- 1:30:21Speaker 20: Just calling about the game. I'm excited to watch football.
- 1:30:25Speaker 20: I'm not sure what to expect, but I'm more thinking
- 1:30:29Speaker 20: about the regular season and in terms of where, you know,
- 1:30:35Speaker 20: what our weaknesses are. Everyone's talking about the on line
- 1:30:39Speaker 20: and I'm thinking that's a serious for sure, that could
- 1:30:42Speaker 20: be a serious problem. So I'm wondering if the paths
- 1:30:45Speaker 20: should go like oh and four at the beginning of
- 1:30:47Speaker 20: the season, what do you think are the odds that
- 1:30:49Speaker 20: things will kind of unravel? And is it possible maybe
- 1:30:53Speaker 20: that this year could actually be worse than than last
- 1:30:56Speaker 20: year if they.
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: Hell, I'm gonna take this off, Okay. I just want
- 1:31:00Speaker 1: to make sure I get you to ask you. I
- 1:31:02Speaker 1: want to I want to make sure I get you
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: a question, right. If they start zero and four, what
- 1:31:06Speaker 1: are the odds that the season unravels? Is that the question?
- 1:31:08Speaker 9: Okay?
- 1:31:09Speaker 20: Then said, you know how things were, you know, the
- 1:31:12Speaker 20: the dysfunction in the locker room and everything else. Is
- 1:31:16Speaker 20: it possible that we could end up in the same
- 1:31:18Speaker 20: situation or worse? And real quick, I'll get off the
- 1:31:21Speaker 20: line here right away, but I want to just ask you.
- 1:31:23Speaker 20: I heard you guys talking about the Sopranos. I want
- 1:31:25Speaker 20: to ask you if you could give me your idea
- 1:31:27Speaker 20: what the best gangster movie? Your favorite gangster movie? Mine
- 1:31:32Speaker 20: would be the Godfather of the original.
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: But good question.
- 1:31:34Speaker 20: That's all I had for today.
- 1:31:36Speaker 1: Excellent question, Thank you, Tony. Can I can I combo
- 1:31:41Speaker 1: them up one and two?
- 1:31:42Speaker 9: Go for it?
- 1:31:43Speaker 1: Okay, I'm still picking good Fellas. Yeah, I think, I think,
- 1:31:47Speaker 1: I am.
- 1:31:49Speaker 4: I think I would too. I don't know. It's tough.
- 1:31:53Speaker 1: Don't sleep on Donnie Brosco. It's an excellent gangster movie.
- 1:31:57Speaker 1: It's really good.
- 1:31:59Speaker 4: There's elements all the as ones that the casino like
- 1:32:01Speaker 4: things that are just special to make each one kind
- 1:32:04Speaker 4: of stand out.
- 1:32:05Speaker 1: Sure, but and I like them all.
- 1:32:09Speaker 10: I think God Yeah, I think The Godfather was my favorite,
- 1:32:12Speaker 10: but yeah, I like them all.
- 1:32:14Speaker 4: It's like, I just wonder, I wonder if if the
- 1:32:16Speaker 4: other ones would still hit as hard without the Godfather
- 1:32:19Speaker 4: as kind of just like the establishing of the genre
- 1:32:21Speaker 4: almost and you know, like all that kind of power
- 1:32:24Speaker 4: structure that they set up that's not necessarily completely you
- 1:32:27Speaker 4: know the other movies, but it still just gives you
- 1:32:29Speaker 4: kind of like not that they're sequels, but you know
- 1:32:30Speaker 4: what I mean, they feel all kind of connected.
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm just I'm wondering, like what ones were missing
- 1:32:36Speaker 1: out on here? Would you consider The Untouchables a gangster movie?
- 1:32:41Speaker 1: It's certainly more, really.
- 1:32:42Speaker 4: Because it's more from the cops perspective.
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, Ah, it's tough. It's tough. You could go
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: old school with Miller's crossing Cohen Brothers. Come on to
- 1:32:57Speaker 1: see a lot of those, but not that one American gangster.
- 1:33:00Speaker 1: Denzel again excellent, excellent.
- 1:33:04Speaker 3: Thoughts on The Irishman.
- 1:33:06Speaker 9: I saw The Irishman. I didn't love it.
- 1:33:08Speaker 1: Okay, I've seen it. Are you ready for this? Three times?
- 1:33:11Speaker 12: Now?
- 1:33:12Speaker 1: Three times? I watched that movie way better than it
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: gets credit for. Yeah, it's too long, but it's Robert
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: de Niro and Al Pacino and I'm Joe Peshy what
- 1:33:26Speaker 1: what's wrong?
- 1:33:27Speaker 9: Most of the time, most of them.
- 1:33:29Speaker 1: Most of the time with those guys, it's like, the
- 1:33:31Speaker 1: problem is the movie was too short. I wanted to
- 1:33:33Speaker 1: keep going.
- 1:33:34Speaker 2: I have to say I've also watched it three times,
- 1:33:36Speaker 2: and each time it got better for me.
- 1:33:38Speaker 4: Yeah, Rapes coming over, Rapes coming over. Soon to be
- 1:33:42Speaker 4: inducted in the Patriots Hall of Fame. Oh, Billy, Oh.
- 1:33:46Speaker 9: It was an awkward little hug there.
- 1:33:47Speaker 1: No, it's a little like a little dap, like what.
- 1:33:51Speaker 4: Are you doing?
- 1:33:51Speaker 9: What are we doing?
- 1:33:51Speaker 12: What are we doing?
- 1:33:52Speaker 4: What are we doing? How's Jake and what are we doing? Oh?
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: I like, I like I was gonna ask you guys,
- 1:33:58Speaker 1: how's his relationship with Bill? Do we know? Just are they?
- 1:34:04Speaker 1: Are they good? I know that Rabel and maybe ownership.
- 1:34:08Speaker 9: Was a little oh yeah, that was when he left.
- 1:34:12Speaker 1: Yeah, because he took a couple of shots at like
- 1:34:14Speaker 1: them spending money on Patriot Place and stuff like that.
- 1:34:17Speaker 1: He's made a couple of cracks since then, But he
- 1:34:19Speaker 1: and Bill are good. I think, so, okay, all right,
- 1:34:23Speaker 1: I didn't know if there was anything else there. Oh,
- 1:34:27Speaker 1: honorable mention for the gangster movies and then I swear
- 1:34:30Speaker 1: we'll move on. I don't know if you guys have
- 1:34:32Speaker 1: seen it. Mel Gibson in Payback, Oh fantastic it is.
- 1:34:38Speaker 1: It is a top ten for me.
- 1:34:40Speaker 4: All gets kidnapped?
- 1:34:45Speaker 1: Yeah, that's ransom, right, give me shot? Or is there
- 1:34:53Speaker 1: too much? The too much tuna? Guys refer to those
- 1:34:57Speaker 1: and the liam Nees and movies as right. How here
- 1:35:00Speaker 1: you take my door Dury Payback, Mel Gibson, watch it,
- 1:35:06Speaker 1: trust me, take my word for it, all right, Tony
- 1:35:09Speaker 1: and Canada's question, will the season unravel if they start
- 1:35:12Speaker 1: on four? I don't mean I'm not being a jerk,
- 1:35:15Speaker 1: and I don't think they're gonna start one four, but
- 1:35:17Speaker 1: the season's over if they start on four. Absolutely they
- 1:35:19Speaker 1: have to They have to win one, preferably two of
- 1:35:22Speaker 1: their first four.
- 1:35:22Speaker 4: And that's why I have to have to happen. That's
- 1:35:24Speaker 4: why I saw a little scuttle but today about about
- 1:35:27Speaker 4: September being extension of the preseason. Again, I saw, you know,
- 1:35:30Speaker 4: some people kind of commenting that after it got out
- 1:35:32Speaker 4: that the Patriots weren't going to play starters. Then I'm like,
- 1:35:34Speaker 4: you can't afford to start late. Like you've been a
- 1:35:37Speaker 4: team that's been on the cusp of the playoffs the
- 1:35:39Speaker 4: last three years. One game or two goes and I'll
- 1:35:41Speaker 4: tell you the differ's going to come out good. The
- 1:35:43Speaker 4: difference this year between this year in the last two years.
- 1:35:47Speaker 4: The last two years they've had really tough starts to
- 1:35:49Speaker 4: the season schedule wise, then they had a long soft
- 1:35:54Speaker 4: part of the schedule to be concluded with another tough section.
- 1:35:58Speaker 4: This year, it's not a long stretch.
- 1:36:00Speaker 10: In the middle, it gets a little easier, and then
- 1:36:03Speaker 10: there's some tough games, and then there's like the easy
- 1:36:07Speaker 10: games this year, like quote unquote, I mean they have
- 1:36:10Speaker 10: Indian in my opinion, they have Indy in Washington is
- 1:36:12Speaker 10: games that they should they should be better than those teams. Yeah, right,
- 1:36:16Speaker 10: the other games that you're quote unquote thinking of the
- 1:36:18Speaker 10: soft part of the schedule of teams like you, Denver,
- 1:36:23Speaker 10: Pittsburgh Giants, like those are not going to be all
- 1:36:27Speaker 10: easy games. Even the Raiders, you know, those are not
- 1:36:32Speaker 10: going to be easy games.
- 1:36:33Speaker 9: Chargers, they're all tough.
- 1:36:39Speaker 4: Wow.
- 1:36:40Speaker 1: All right, So this brings up a question, but you trade.
- 1:36:45Speaker 4: Why didn't the Hatriots trade for trade Lance?
- 1:36:47Speaker 1: Is that the question it was brought up earlier this week.
- 1:36:51Speaker 1: If you want to see Paul get mad all over again.
- 1:36:54Speaker 9: I will. I'm not That's not the part that makes
- 1:36:55Speaker 9: me mad.
- 1:36:56Speaker 1: I'm gonna mention the part that gets you mad.
- 1:36:59Speaker 9: You haven't even heard it yet.
- 1:37:00Speaker 1: Which would you have traded Bailey Zappi and a third
- 1:37:06Speaker 1: round pick for Trey Lance?
- 1:37:10Speaker 4: Well, I mean, realistically no, but I but I'd be
- 1:37:12Speaker 4: intrigued by it, just because I really liked Trey Lance's
- 1:37:15Speaker 4: trades at least. I mean, I think there's something intriguing about,
- 1:37:18Speaker 4: you know, having a raw lump of clay. But he
- 1:37:20Speaker 4: just he hasn't played a lot of football, So I
- 1:37:21Speaker 4: mean practically no, because Zappi right now is developing into
- 1:37:25Speaker 4: what you want out of a back of quarterback, you know,
- 1:37:27Speaker 4: somebody that knows what he's doing and hopefully can get
- 1:37:30Speaker 4: in there and you know, not totally blow blow it.
- 1:37:32Speaker 4: But but but I'd be intrigued by by Lance. I mean,
- 1:37:36Speaker 4: if if they had got found a way to get
- 1:37:37Speaker 4: him in as like the third quarterback, I'd be all
- 1:37:39Speaker 4: for it, I think, and I mean I always am
- 1:37:41Speaker 4: saying any quarterback, I love it. But Lance's issues at
- 1:37:44Speaker 4: this point here's.
- 1:37:45Speaker 1: The part which sailing there.
- 1:37:47Speaker 9: I agree, and I would be intrigued by it.
- 1:37:49Speaker 1: I think his ceiling is higher. I don't know that
- 1:37:51Speaker 1: he can play, but I I think we know that
- 1:37:56Speaker 1: Zappi can beat that career backup guy. You're gonna have
- 1:37:59Speaker 1: a nice as a backup quarterback, and who knows, maybe
- 1:38:02Speaker 1: you get the call up in a Super Bowl on
- 1:38:05Speaker 1: you know, one fine Sunday in Minneapolis and shock the
- 1:38:08Speaker 1: world and beat the Patriots. I mean you can you
- 1:38:10Speaker 1: can do that. That can happen. But in terms of
- 1:38:14Speaker 1: the ceiling, I think the ceiling is higher with Trey Lance.
- 1:38:18Speaker 1: I would have been up for. What pissed Paul Off
- 1:38:20Speaker 1: was the notion that you would have to give up
- 1:38:22Speaker 1: a third round pick.
- 1:38:23Speaker 10: Well, you know, and that's strong. But yeah, like people
- 1:38:26Speaker 10: are saying, would you send Zappi in a third round
- 1:38:29Speaker 10: pick for Lance? Like as an NFL in a as
- 1:38:32Speaker 10: an NFL player, Zappi's done more than Lance, So why
- 1:38:37Speaker 10: do you have to throw a third round pick in?
- 1:38:39Speaker 5: Right?
- 1:38:41Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 1:38:42Speaker 4: Maybe they should throw a third round pick like that.
- 1:38:44Speaker 1: Now, Like.
- 1:38:47Speaker 10: I think they both have a lot to prove. I
- 1:38:50Speaker 10: do listen, I'd be I'm exactly the way you put it, Mike.
- 1:38:53Speaker 10: If I had a chance to just get Trey Lance,
- 1:38:56Speaker 10: like he's available and I can sign him, and you know,
- 1:38:59Speaker 10: it's like it's like March or April and I can
- 1:39:01Speaker 10: just sign him. I'd love to be able to see
- 1:39:04Speaker 10: if there's anything there and see if he can develop.
- 1:39:06Speaker 4: Them and sounds just a mid round pick, you know.
- 1:39:09Speaker 10: Like see what was there. But I'm not necessarily interested
- 1:39:14Speaker 10: now of trading something for him. Now with with Dallas,
- 1:39:18Speaker 10: maybe they looked at it as we've got a chance
- 1:39:20Speaker 10: to get a young guy. Dak's gonna have a huge
- 1:39:23Speaker 10: cap number. I think next year he's one of the
- 1:39:25Speaker 10: higher paid guys. Coming off kind of a so so
- 1:39:28Speaker 10: year for him. You know, maybe if he has another
- 1:39:30Speaker 10: bad year, you just start to wonder, does he not
- 1:39:32Speaker 10: is he not coming back from that injury and he's
- 1:39:34Speaker 10: not the same guy, And you know, maybe two years
- 1:39:37Speaker 10: from now, you know, with the whole year in the
- 1:39:40Speaker 10: Dallas system, maybe Trey Lance is ready to compete.
- 1:39:43Speaker 1: Yes, And you know, Jared just loves it, just you know,
- 1:39:46Speaker 1: ed getting trade.
- 1:39:49Speaker 9: My quarterbacks, there's majority welcome.
- 1:39:51Speaker 1: So they're sending a fourth round pick to the forty
- 1:39:53Speaker 1: nine Ers for Trey Lance and not their current backup quarterback,
- 1:39:57Speaker 1: just a fourth round pick.
- 1:39:58Speaker 4: So not even a third round pick.
- 1:40:01Speaker 1: Oh, you couldn't have been more right, You could.
- 1:40:04Speaker 10: Not have been more need to send a backup quarterback
- 1:40:07Speaker 10: and a pick.
- 1:40:08Speaker 1: That's beautiful, all right. And by the way, the just
- 1:40:11Speaker 1: back to the Patriots record. Should they lose to the Eagles, Dolphins, Jets,
- 1:40:15Speaker 1: and Cowboys to start the season, Look, you look at
- 1:40:20Speaker 1: them maybe winning one or two of those games with
- 1:40:22Speaker 1: the expectation that, oh, then you can maybe get a
- 1:40:25Speaker 1: win against the Saints, you can maybe get a win
- 1:40:28Speaker 1: against the Raiders, because after that you've got the Bills.
- 1:40:32Speaker 1: You have to go to Miami. But then maybe you
- 1:40:34Speaker 1: can beat the Commanders. If you don't win any of
- 1:40:37Speaker 1: the first four, that puts into question where you can
- 1:40:40Speaker 1: get a win against any team. And that's really where
- 1:40:43Speaker 1: things start to fall.
- 1:40:44Speaker 10: And that's kind of what I was talking about, Like,
- 1:40:46Speaker 10: so you have that that gauntlet to start the season.
- 1:40:49Speaker 10: In the last two years, after that four game gauntlet,
- 1:40:52Speaker 10: you've had four or five games that were more than winnable.
- 1:40:56Speaker 10: This year, it's a couple of games that are kind
- 1:40:59Speaker 10: of toss up games with new Orleans in the in
- 1:41:02Speaker 10: Vegas and then you gotta got Buffalo in Miami.
- 1:41:06Speaker 1: Yeah, I thought, you know what, Paul, the thing that
- 1:41:08Speaker 1: got overlooked when the schedule came out, And I'm sure
- 1:41:10Speaker 1: you guys didn't because you did a probably a much
- 1:41:13Speaker 1: better job of breaking it down and having a broke
- 1:41:17Speaker 1: But the don is semi semi retired. The last four
- 1:41:23Speaker 1: games to me are the Gauntlet, and you could make
- 1:41:26Speaker 1: an argument for the last six you're talking about. The
- 1:41:29Speaker 1: last four are Chiefs in Denver, in Buffalo, and then
- 1:41:33Speaker 1: the Jets. Now we don't know what the Jets are
- 1:41:35Speaker 1: gonna be, but Aaron Rodgers, last time I checked, was
- 1:41:38Speaker 1: still a pretty decent quarterback if you count the two
- 1:41:41Speaker 1: games before that Chargers, Chargers and at Steelers. I don't
- 1:41:47Speaker 1: know what the Steelers are going to be. I think
- 1:41:49Speaker 1: the Chargers are going to be good. So you got Chargers, Steelers, Chiefs, Broncos,
- 1:41:53Speaker 1: Bill's Jets to finish your season. So you do you
- 1:41:56Speaker 1: want to talk about an oh and four start and
- 1:41:58Speaker 1: being able to salvage it when those are your last six?
- 1:42:01Speaker 4: No? No, no, So it's just they got to start well,
- 1:42:05Speaker 4: I mean, they got to be ready to go. That's
- 1:42:06Speaker 4: you know, that's that's the thing. There's no more. Oh,
- 1:42:08Speaker 4: we're gonna, you know, see how it goes in September
- 1:42:10Speaker 4: and then we can make it out, work out the kinks.
- 1:42:12Speaker 1: I don't think it's going to be an issue though.
- 1:42:14Speaker 1: I think they I think they figure out a way
- 1:42:16Speaker 1: to win certainly one and possibly two of those first four,
- 1:42:20Speaker 1: and I think that's I think that's a pretty decent
- 1:42:23Speaker 1: accomplishment for this team and this roster and what they're
- 1:42:26Speaker 1: trying to too, what they're trying to do.
- 1:42:27Speaker 10: For sure, they're two and two after those full games,
- 1:42:29Speaker 10: I don't think there'd be too many people in New
- 1:42:31Speaker 10: England that'd be upset.
- 1:42:32Speaker 1: No, No, they're still going they be upset with one,
- 1:42:34Speaker 1: and you're right, I think realistically, though, you need to
- 1:42:38Speaker 1: prepare yourself for one and be happy with two.
- 1:42:41Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:42:41Speaker 10: Now when I say that, I think people would be
- 1:42:44Speaker 10: happy with two. That's assuming you know, you never know
- 1:42:47Speaker 10: how the game's unfold.
- 1:42:48Speaker 4: Like you got to see it.
- 1:42:49Speaker 10: Yeah, if you like, you know, had a chance to
- 1:42:52Speaker 10: win all four and only one two, i'd be upset.
- 1:42:55Speaker 1: Yeah, do you know what I mean?
- 1:42:57Speaker 10: Like, if you you know, let two of them, yeah, yeah,
- 1:43:01Speaker 10: let's grab I guess the bigger point there would be like, oh,
- 1:43:04Speaker 10: maybe we're better than we thought.
- 1:43:05Speaker 1: Now grab a couple of calls here, William and Philadelphia.
- 1:43:08Speaker 1: We're just talking about your Eagles there, William. Unless you're
- 1:43:10Speaker 1: a Patriots fan, I assume you are. Hello, William?
- 1:43:13Speaker 12: Hi, how you doing?
- 1:43:15Speaker 14: How you feeling good?
- 1:43:17Speaker 19: All right?
- 1:43:18Speaker 11: I'm I'm a diehard Pictures fan as I I can't
- 1:43:22Speaker 11: believe what for for another season?
- 1:43:26Speaker 2: Oh God, Bill Jesus.
- 1:43:29Speaker 11: Okay, I'm so eager to get to Paul Evan Jue
- 1:43:33Speaker 11: whoever I don't even care at this point, is very eager.
- 1:43:38Speaker 11: I am very shocked that Bill had let this office
- 1:43:41Speaker 11: in line go the way this. If that was one
- 1:43:43Speaker 11: thing I could say that was good about Bill. He
- 1:43:45Speaker 11: always had a good offensive line. And here we are
- 1:43:48Speaker 11: right now, ready to get ready, get you ready for
- 1:43:51Speaker 11: week one to go against the foot up the Eagles.
- 1:43:55Speaker 11: Are you really playing this game? Sitting around and not
- 1:43:58Speaker 11: getting on the phone making trades or something, you know,
- 1:44:01Speaker 11: try to get met a tackle when that I just
- 1:44:05Speaker 11: I don't, I just don't get this.
- 1:44:06Speaker 19: Don't.
- 1:44:07Speaker 11: He wouldn't do this to Tom Brady, So why why
- 1:44:09Speaker 11: are you doing this to mec.
- 1:44:12Speaker 9: Some people would argue, we did it with to Tom
- 1:44:14Speaker 9: Brady for twenty years.
- 1:44:15Speaker 1: Well yeah, I mean that Brady did have decent lines,
- 1:44:18Speaker 1: but it wasn't Brandon Goren and Tom Ashworth.
- 1:44:23Speaker 10: Oh not every year, but that's the majority of the years.
- 1:44:26Speaker 10: Like I think a lot of people who bash Bill,
- 1:44:30Speaker 10: that's what they would bash him for, is they never
- 1:44:32Speaker 10: you know, two thousand and seven was sort of an
- 1:44:35Speaker 10: anomaly where they went out and got Randy Moss and
- 1:44:37Speaker 10: Wes Welker and they said, hey, let's go you know here,
- 1:44:40Speaker 10: you know, we're gonna we're gonna load it up. But
- 1:44:43Speaker 10: I think more often than not they had undrafted rookies
- 1:44:46Speaker 10: like Ryan Windell and you know, Dan Conley, Joe and Drewsey.
- 1:44:52Speaker 10: Those were the offensive linemen and they would just kind.
- 1:44:56Speaker 1: Of have But at least you had a couple of guys,
- 1:44:58Speaker 1: a couple of veterans that you count on, or a
- 1:45:00Speaker 1: couple of like Mancns, Mankins, Vomer, somebody up there. It's like, okay,
- 1:45:05Speaker 1: we can rely on these guys. Who's the reliable offensive
- 1:45:09Speaker 1: lineman other than your center?
- 1:45:11Speaker 10: And yes there are, but there are I would I'm
- 1:45:17Speaker 10: going to push back on that, like Andrews and when
- 1:45:19Speaker 10: you a good offensive lineman. Yeah, like I think there's
- 1:45:23Speaker 10: more talent there then than you're given credit for what
- 1:45:27Speaker 10: I think Andrews and when you were good?
- 1:45:29Speaker 1: I mean, is that.
- 1:45:29Speaker 9: A controversial line?
- 1:45:32Speaker 1: Is that a controversial take?
- 1:45:33Speaker 19: Not?
- 1:45:33Speaker 1: I don't mean to be like Johnny Homer.
- 1:45:35Speaker 4: You can still hate the line and still like those
- 1:45:37Speaker 4: guys like it's right.
- 1:45:38Speaker 10: I mean you can say there's questions that tackle and
- 1:45:40Speaker 10: still say they have two good offensive linemens.
- 1:45:42Speaker 11: Yes, this is what but see, this is what I
- 1:45:45Speaker 11: don't understand it.
- 1:45:47Speaker 5: Why do y'all protect Bill?
- 1:45:49Speaker 9: I'm not protecting Bills.
- 1:45:52Speaker 1: Yeah, I can't win.
- 1:45:54Speaker 11: I can't win to THEEAM no longer. Nobody that William.
- 1:45:56Speaker 1: William.
- 1:45:57Speaker 4: We are with you on your tackle argument. We just
- 1:45:59Speaker 4: don't agree that, David. I think they should.
- 1:46:03Speaker 10: I think they should have drafted a tackle early in
- 1:46:06Speaker 10: this past raft.
- 1:46:07Speaker 4: Yes, I'm with you on that argument.
- 1:46:09Speaker 1: I do.
- 1:46:09Speaker 10: I'm not defending that we all thought they would. I'm
- 1:46:13Speaker 10: not defending Bill on that. I think they should have.
- 1:46:15Speaker 11: They didn't say, can we can?
- 1:46:17Speaker 8: We can?
- 1:46:17Speaker 13: We agree with this?
- 1:46:18Speaker 11: Since Tom left and he went and got a Super Bowl,
- 1:46:22Speaker 11: your beloved coach has can't even do that. He's still
- 1:46:24Speaker 11: struggling to get the Rocks to get Can we agree
- 1:46:27Speaker 11: with that too?
- 1:46:28Speaker 10: No, no, William, you're I'm not going to fight you
- 1:46:30Speaker 10: on the fact that they're not as good without Tom Brady.
- 1:46:33Speaker 1: No, no, and I'll tell you that. And William, I'm sorry.
- 1:46:35Speaker 1: We got to grab one more call before we do
- 1:46:37Speaker 1: our over hunters things for they call. I will say this, Uh,
- 1:46:41Speaker 1: for anybody who is not willing to concede the obvious,
- 1:46:44Speaker 1: which is was it Brady or was it Belichick? It
- 1:46:46Speaker 1: was both? But if you are forced to choose between
- 1:46:50Speaker 1: the two, that battle has been won. And short of
- 1:46:54Speaker 1: winning a Super Bowl with someone else, Bill can never
- 1:46:57Speaker 1: win that argument. For people who insist down choosing one
- 1:47:00Speaker 1: or the other? Was it more? Was it Brady or
- 1:47:03Speaker 1: was it was it Bill? Who won all those Super Bowls?
- 1:47:06Speaker 1: Brady won that argument. For the people who will not concede,
- 1:47:10Speaker 1: it was it was the combination.
- 1:47:12Speaker 4: Well, I just I just think the guys that are
- 1:47:15Speaker 4: on the field probably should get the majority of the credit,
- 1:47:17Speaker 4: regardless of Montana and Bill Walsh or you know, any
- 1:47:20Speaker 4: of the other great combinations. And I mean that's just
- 1:47:23Speaker 4: how it is.
- 1:47:23Speaker 1: Like, Yeah, but I agree with that.
- 1:47:25Speaker 4: Of course, find me one great team where you're like, yeah,
- 1:47:27Speaker 4: the quarterback was all right, but it was really the coach.
- 1:47:29Speaker 9: Like players, players make systems.
- 1:47:31Speaker 1: Of course, but you're talking about New England, where in
- 1:47:34Speaker 1: Bill we trust has become a house phrase that everybody knows.
- 1:47:37Speaker 1: I know you're swimming against it.
- 1:47:39Speaker 10: I'm not going to be in full disclosure here in
- 1:47:42Speaker 10: the midst of it, I was one of those guys.
- 1:47:45Speaker 9: I thought it was more Bill.
- 1:47:46Speaker 1: I was wrong. I think it was more Tom, idiot.
- 1:47:50Speaker 1: Could you think that I thought you knew it is?
- 1:47:52Speaker 1: I thought you knew sports man.
- 1:47:54Speaker 4: I thought I just I also, like, I just I
- 1:47:56Speaker 4: want to push back a little bit and just like
- 1:47:58Speaker 4: I think you can appreciate Bill Belichick as head coach
- 1:48:00Speaker 4: without feeling the need to say that it was all
- 1:48:04Speaker 4: him that did it. You know, like you can appreciate
- 1:48:06Speaker 4: him and what he did and still give him the
- 1:48:09Speaker 4: proper credit yea, that he deserves without saying that, you know, like,
- 1:48:12Speaker 4: but Tom was on the field, Tom like executed the
- 1:48:14Speaker 4: plays at the end.
- 1:48:14Speaker 10: I'm just pushing back on like how different it is,
- 1:48:17Speaker 10: Like I don't think he I think he I think
- 1:48:20Speaker 10: Bill has constructed his team in a very consistent manner.
- 1:48:23Speaker 10: So the vast majority of these years it worked when
- 1:48:25Speaker 10: twelve was here.
- 1:48:27Speaker 9: It's not working now.
- 1:48:28Speaker 10: I'm telling you, I could rattle Greg Robinson, Randall, Brandon Goren,
- 1:48:35Speaker 10: Tom Ashworth. They had Nick Kasher, they had average average, average,
- 1:48:42Speaker 10: average tackles, average offensive lineman. Yeah, they had Logan Mankins.
- 1:48:49Speaker 10: Like now, they had a really good lineman or two,
- 1:48:53Speaker 10: and then two or three others that Dan Condley, Ryan Wendell,
- 1:48:56Speaker 10: Like just plug him in. Remember the year they went
- 1:48:58Speaker 10: through four centers Nick McDonald's remember that name.
- 1:49:02Speaker 4: Oh, that's an one. That's a good one.
- 1:49:04Speaker 9: Like it worked because of twelve. Yeah, like that's the
- 1:49:10Speaker 9: part I missed. Yeah, that's the part I look back
- 1:49:13Speaker 9: at and I was wrong.
- 1:49:14Speaker 1: Also know that he comes from a coaching perspective. When
- 1:49:17Speaker 1: Paul and I walked off the golf course earlier today,
- 1:49:20Speaker 1: a guy comes up to him and says, coach, oh,
- 1:49:25Speaker 1: a guy that Paul coached in baseball. Really thirty one.
- 1:49:29Speaker 9: Years ago, it was probably ninety four.
- 1:49:32Speaker 1: They haven't seen each other. Okay, twenty nine years ago.
- 1:49:35Speaker 1: They haven't seen each other. Have you seen him since?
- 1:49:38Speaker 10: Probably not that. Maybe once or twice, but not certainly
- 1:49:41Speaker 10: in the last twenty.
- 1:49:42Speaker 1: Five years fell into that old shorthand speak back and forth.
- 1:49:45Speaker 1: Oh my god, all this back and forth to the
- 1:49:48Speaker 1: point where I said, I'm gonna go now because it's raining,
- 1:49:51Speaker 1: and they at least stand it over here under that.
- 1:49:53Speaker 10: You enjoyed that, so you just mischaracterized that you got
- 1:49:56Speaker 10: to kick out of it.
- 1:49:57Speaker 1: I wish I had anyone come up to me and
- 1:49:59Speaker 1: look up to me away that that now, man, that
- 1:50:03Speaker 1: makes me feel good. You really thought that? I thought.
- 1:50:05Speaker 1: I thought he still looked at Paul. This guy was
- 1:50:08Speaker 1: like now in his you know forties, a successful like
- 1:50:13Speaker 1: you know, banker guy. He always wanted to be a banker, banker,
- 1:50:17Speaker 1: and and he's looking up to Paul and like talking
- 1:50:19Speaker 1: to him like he was still like in charge of thought.
- 1:50:21Speaker 4: Paul was disappointed because he thought it was one of
- 1:50:23Speaker 4: his fans.
- 1:50:23Speaker 1: And it's like, oh, it's a kid I coached you.
- 1:50:25Speaker 4: I thought it was my.
- 1:50:26Speaker 10: Super No, I actually and believe it or not. And
- 1:50:28Speaker 10: Hardy was even impressed. He's like, you know, like, I
- 1:50:30Speaker 10: can't believe you remembered him. I was like, no, I
- 1:50:33Speaker 10: was looking and then I heard his voice.
- 1:50:35Speaker 1: He recognized the guy's voice.
- 1:50:37Speaker 10: Well, I saw him before, like when we walked by
- 1:50:40Speaker 10: and we said hi, and then I heard him and
- 1:50:42Speaker 10: then I looked and I was like, I look and
- 1:50:45Speaker 10: I put it together like as I heard the voice.
- 1:50:47Speaker 1: He came up to Paul, and he did he recognized Paul.
- 1:50:50Speaker 1: He did a lot to Paul. Well, I was today, Eldred,
- 1:50:58Speaker 1: what's going on?
- 1:50:58Speaker 8: Man?
- 1:51:00Speaker 6: Then?
- 1:51:00Speaker 13: Just looking for an interesting game? But uh, I feel
- 1:51:04Speaker 13: Williams pain and Paul, I agree with you with those
- 1:51:07Speaker 13: with or Andrew or kind of leaning all on them.
- 1:51:11Speaker 13: I take them right now over the line we got
- 1:51:13Speaker 13: now besides to win you and uh yeah, but what
- 1:51:15Speaker 13: they right now?
- 1:51:17Speaker 10: My point that that I think we all overlook is
- 1:51:20Speaker 10: we all look at those guys and we say, oh yeah,
- 1:51:21Speaker 10: I'll take them. I'll take them. Well, will we take them?
- 1:51:25Speaker 10: Or did Brady make them look better than they were?
- 1:51:28Speaker 13: Brady made it a little bit of both. But yeah,
- 1:51:32Speaker 13: Brady is Brady, and and I've been sitting there from
- 1:51:35Speaker 13: day one. DU's get mad at me all the time
- 1:51:38Speaker 13: they do. Do you like the record that Brady got
- 1:51:40Speaker 13: on them?
- 1:51:41Speaker 19: Like?
- 1:51:43Speaker 4: How do you do you like it? We're all experiencing together.
- 1:51:47Speaker 13: I'm I'm gonna keep throwing rocks at you.
- 1:51:48Speaker 6: Bro.
- 1:51:48Speaker 13: I told you it's always Brady and I'm I'm I'm
- 1:51:52Speaker 13: a Dieard Brady fan. I love feeling as a coach GM.
- 1:51:55Speaker 13: I can't stand his gut. Okay, sorry, wait, whay do.
- 1:51:59Speaker 6: You do it?
- 1:51:59Speaker 13: Whay you get the off? I just can't do it.
- 1:52:01Speaker 1: Hush.
- 1:52:01Speaker 13: I've been saying for fifteen.
- 1:52:03Speaker 9: You have You're consistent. You've hated everything and everyone for
- 1:52:07Speaker 9: fifteen years.
- 1:52:11Speaker 13: Yeah, but I'm looking. I hope they do play Matt Jones.
- 1:52:14Speaker 13: He play, He's played the start.
- 1:52:16Speaker 1: I don't think they're going to I know, but don't
- 1:52:20Speaker 1: you think they need to work?
- 1:52:21Speaker 10: I do think that they could use a little word.
- 1:52:23Speaker 1: Yeah they could, but they need health more than anything.
- 1:52:26Speaker 9: Necessity probably not.
- 1:52:28Speaker 1: I would agree with you guys. Figure figure it out
- 1:52:30Speaker 1: on your own time, even though we have to watch
- 1:52:32Speaker 1: this thing tonight. Eldred, keep it between the lines, my man.
- 1:52:35Speaker 13: I'm going to do that. I have a good one,
- 1:52:37Speaker 13: all right, thank you?
- 1:52:37Speaker 1: All right, that's that's truck or talk. No, I get it.
- 1:52:42Speaker 9: Your sensor goes off, though when you don't go outside
- 1:52:44Speaker 9: the lines, it.
- 1:52:46Speaker 1: Does what for Eldred. Eldred doesn't need censors, I said.
- 1:52:50Speaker 9: But it will it goes off if you if.
- 1:52:52Speaker 1: You veer I don't know that he has censors. Okays
- 1:52:55Speaker 1: the professional truck driving thank you, because he doesn't need
- 1:53:00Speaker 1: this answer is does it mean he can turn them
- 1:53:01Speaker 1: off in his camp and take the RESU You just
- 1:53:04Speaker 1: can't keep the res Erica in Virginia Our final call
- 1:53:08Speaker 1: of the pregame. What's up? Erica?
- 1:53:11Speaker 19: Hey you guys, always a pleasure.
- 1:53:12Speaker 1: Thanks for squeezing in, of course.
- 1:53:16Speaker 19: Quick question about the O line. Who was it, Paul?
- 1:53:20Speaker 19: Were you team when you and Andrews?
- 1:53:23Speaker 9: Yeah? I think they're good players.
- 1:53:25Speaker 19: Yes, okay, and I'm with you on that one hundred percent. However,
- 1:53:28Speaker 19: are we going to leave Strange out of that because
- 1:53:30Speaker 19: I feel like he worked better with Andrews versus Frand
- 1:53:34Speaker 19: for the rest of this season.
- 1:53:36Speaker 4: Well, not yet. I'm not putting them in there yet.
- 1:53:38Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:53:38Speaker 10: I don't put Strange in there yet because you know,
- 1:53:41Speaker 10: and I'm just judging this off of Bill.
- 1:53:43Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:53:44Speaker 10: Bill took him off the field three different occasions last
- 1:53:46Speaker 10: year healthy, so I think he struggled a little bit
- 1:53:50Speaker 10: as a rookie. I expect him to be better this year,
- 1:53:53Speaker 10: and I agree with you, Erica. He was better when
- 1:53:56Speaker 10: he was with David Andrews, which tells me he needs
- 1:53:59Speaker 10: the help. All right, Eric, did you let Erica go?
- 1:54:04Speaker 1: I did not. She hung up on her own. She
- 1:54:06Speaker 1: knew that we have to get to the over Unders. Okay,
- 1:54:09Speaker 1: it's time.
- 1:54:10Speaker 3: For this week's edition of over Unders.
- 1:54:15Speaker 1: I got a real problem with the standings here. What
- 1:54:18Speaker 1: happened because last week's game didn't even finish. So how
- 1:54:21Speaker 1: can we have like full numbers from last week?
- 1:54:24Speaker 3: You go with what you have.
- 1:54:26Speaker 1: Unbelievable, all right, go ahead, rattle them off all right?
- 1:54:29Speaker 2: Last week Mike four and two, Paul five and one,
- 1:54:32Speaker 2: Hardy three and three, bringing the season totals to Mike
- 1:54:36Speaker 2: and Paul nine and three preseason totals and Hardy seven
- 1:54:39Speaker 2: and five.
- 1:54:39Speaker 1: Are we gonna?
- 1:54:40Speaker 9: I know, I just wipe out, Okay, wipe out?
- 1:54:43Speaker 1: All right? I ask every year five years now. I
- 1:54:45Speaker 1: just want to make sure Nicole all right. So I'll
- 1:54:48Speaker 1: take a run at it tonight. Just you know, spoiler alert,
- 1:54:51Speaker 1: I may pick the opposite just for sport. I'd never
- 1:54:55Speaker 1: do this. This is gonna be different. Yes, I never
- 1:54:58Speaker 1: do that, but I might have to do it tonight
- 1:55:00Speaker 1: because they got some ground to make up.
- 1:55:01Speaker 2: All right, Malie Cunningham snaps at quarterback at a half deuce.
- 1:55:08Speaker 4: I'm gonna go under on that. I think I think
- 1:55:10Speaker 4: we're trying to get him at receiver now and they
- 1:55:12Speaker 4: don't want to show any more of him at quarterback.
- 1:55:14Speaker 10: I would agree with Mike under Well, I just thought
- 1:55:20Speaker 10: i'd open the door for you. Yeah, I've actually I've
- 1:55:22Speaker 10: ruined that one should have taken the over, just to
- 1:55:24Speaker 10: make him make a discision.
- 1:55:25Speaker 1: One snap, okay, but this isn't crazy. One snap at quarterback, quah,
- 1:55:30Speaker 1: if it gets one snap, I win. Yes, I'll go
- 1:55:32Speaker 1: over a half.
- 1:55:34Speaker 3: Total interceptions thrown three and a half.
- 1:55:37Speaker 1: I'll take the under. Yeah, I'm sorry, that sounds like
- 1:55:41Speaker 1: a lot. In a third preseason game, I have to
- 1:55:43Speaker 1: go under on that one too.
- 1:55:45Speaker 4: I'm gonna go over Pula Hardy just for a little fun,
- 1:55:48Speaker 4: Oh my god, fun, totally reasoning behind it. The bad
- 1:55:53Speaker 4: quarterbacks are gonna be playing.
- 1:55:54Speaker 1: Okay, that's pretty good.
- 1:55:56Speaker 3: A total number of Patriots punts five and a half.
- 1:56:00Speaker 1: Um. No, in a preseason game, you're gonna go for
- 1:56:04Speaker 1: it more often than not, So I will go under under.
- 1:56:10Speaker 4: Yeah, I'll go under two.
- 1:56:12Speaker 1: Why not, I'll take the over nice.
- 1:56:15Speaker 2: We're gonna have blood number of callers that make it
- 1:56:18Speaker 2: on air in the postgame show seven and a half.
- 1:56:21Speaker 9: What is this supposed to be?
- 1:56:23Speaker 4: This feels like a shot.
- 1:56:24Speaker 1: It feels like a shot.
- 1:56:25Speaker 2: Late night, Week three, preseason game. I don't know how
- 1:56:27Speaker 2: many people are gonna be calling in.
- 1:56:28Speaker 4: It's it's a great show that people want to talk to.
- 1:56:32Speaker 10: Whatever we established as the record tonight, we'll have to
- 1:56:35Speaker 10: keep in mind for that Christmas night.
- 1:56:39Speaker 4: I'm gonna go under.
- 1:56:42Speaker 1: Oh it is it me? Yeah? Seven and a half
- 1:56:45Speaker 1: callers on air over optimistic. Yeah, I gotta go over
- 1:56:50Speaker 1: on that one too. That doesn't we have some control
- 1:56:52Speaker 1: over that one, hardy, Thank.
- 1:56:53Speaker 2: You, Bill Belichick. Postgame presser length, please call.
- 1:56:59Speaker 9: Him post game pressure length. I need more information on
- 1:57:03Speaker 9: this one than whatever is normal.
- 1:57:04Speaker 1: Post games no.
- 1:57:05Speaker 4: Usually average three fifty eight. So it's tough.
- 1:57:08Speaker 9: It's tough, is it me?
- 1:57:11Speaker 13: It is?
- 1:57:12Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:57:12Speaker 4: It is you.
- 1:57:14Speaker 1: I will take the under four minutes. Well, he barely
- 1:57:20Speaker 1: had one last week. I feel like maybe he feels
- 1:57:23Speaker 1: the need to make up for that, So I'm gonna
- 1:57:25Speaker 1: go over.
- 1:57:27Speaker 4: I'm gonna go under.
- 1:57:28Speaker 9: I'm gonna go under.
- 1:57:29Speaker 2: Yeah, under, And the total score thirty eight and a half, nikes.
- 1:57:35Speaker 1: Oh, twenty seventeen will be under.
- 1:57:41Speaker 4: You do some examples to kind of like it feels
- 1:57:43Speaker 4: like he shut up deuce.
- 1:57:45Speaker 1: How's that for an example? If it was like thirty eight,
- 1:57:48Speaker 1: nothing that came out of nowhere? It did, Yeah, I
- 1:57:50Speaker 1: really did. It was so aggressive under under please thank you? Yeah.
- 1:57:54Speaker 4: I think I'm gonna go under two. Well, I'll make
- 1:57:56Speaker 4: it unanymous Okay, all right, there you go. Uh I
- 1:57:59Speaker 4: just a hangover point before you get to your thing.
- 1:58:01Speaker 4: I just say, you know, talking about Strange, it's like
- 1:58:03Speaker 4: Strange and Thornton, same draft class, similar kind of thing,
- 1:58:07Speaker 4: like needed them to take a jump this year. They
- 1:58:09Speaker 4: both got hurt. They've both you know, like haven't really
- 1:58:11Speaker 4: found any momentum this summer. And I just think that's
- 1:58:14Speaker 4: one of the disappointing aspects of this this summer and
- 1:58:16Speaker 4: that draft class that's not really panning out right now.
- 1:58:18Speaker 1: I have a hangover point. Tamara was drinking Pitia light
- 1:58:22Speaker 1: in here.
- 1:58:22Speaker 4: She loves it.
- 1:58:23Speaker 1: Okay, it's for hangovers.
- 1:58:25Speaker 4: No, well, it's also it's got a lot of.
- 1:58:27Speaker 3: Elect inventive for hangovers.
- 1:58:28Speaker 4: Yeah, whatever, she's gonna get after it.
- 1:58:30Speaker 9: Tonight.
- 1:58:30Speaker 1: I guess I just I like I like the physical
- 1:58:33Speaker 1: comedy of the hangover point Paul, anything else.
- 1:58:40Speaker 10: No, I think Deuce made a good point there about
- 1:58:42Speaker 10: the draft class, though I hadn't really hadn't really thought
- 1:58:44Speaker 10: of that, and you know, it's it just kind of disappointing.
- 1:58:47Speaker 10: You'd like to see your young guys first and second
- 1:58:49Speaker 10: round picks from a year ago, year two jump slow start,
- 1:58:53Speaker 10: I mean not saying they can't have a year or
- 1:58:54Speaker 10: two jump, but slow start with the injuries in training camp.
- 1:58:57Speaker 1: Yep. All right, Well, uh, kickoff isn't for another half
