- 0:01Speaker 1: It's the ex bole the radio from how x bole
- 0:04Speaker 1: and you have to call us to be a participant.
- 0:06Speaker 1: So if you had a million dollars, but the rule
- 0:10Speaker 1: was somebody gave you a million and said here this,
- 0:12Speaker 1: take this. The only thing is you can't spend it yourself.
- 0:16Speaker 2: You have to spend yourself on something else, on someone else, on.
- 0:21Speaker 3: You can't spend it on yourself, can't spend it on yourself.
- 0:24Speaker 1: I would try to get around it by giving it
- 0:26Speaker 1: to somebody I know and love, and then I'd say,
- 0:29Speaker 1: take me, buy me some clothes, will you? But you know,
- 0:32Speaker 1: what would you do with a million dollars? If you
- 0:35Speaker 1: I mean.
- 0:35Speaker 2: It's like if you had an inheritance maybe or a
- 0:40Speaker 2: or you on the lottery, or.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Or you made a lot of money in your and
- 0:44Speaker 1: you've got a million dollars, Yeah, that you can. What
- 0:46Speaker 1: would you What would you use it for other than
- 0:50Speaker 1: on yourself.
- 0:51Speaker 4: The sad thing is a lot of the things that I.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Would want to do would need more than a million dollars.
- 0:55Speaker 2: Like a million dollars is not as much as you
- 0:58Speaker 2: think it is.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Yeah, that's true.
- 0:59Speaker 2: So what I immediately thought of with this is our mayor
- 1:05Speaker 2: Aaron Mendenhall. She posted this the other day of this
- 1:07Speaker 2: great new community that we have here in Salt Lake.
- 1:11Speaker 4: It's called Spark, So it's affordable housing.
- 1:15Speaker 2: And in that building they have on site childcare, like
- 1:19Speaker 2: the first floor, So not only are you living in
- 1:22Speaker 2: affordable housing, but there's quality on site childcare.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:27Speaker 2: A million dollars isn't going to pay for that, but
- 1:29Speaker 2: I would. I would contribute to something like that.
- 1:33Speaker 1: Where people quality childcare. Where is that I saw it.
- 1:37Speaker 1: It's around here somewhere I saw it. Yeah, I'm not
- 1:41Speaker 1: sure that Spark on the building.
- 1:44Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a really cool they're beautiful apartment, and it's
- 1:48Speaker 2: it's right by tracks.
- 1:49Speaker 1: I guess they're all affordable.
- 1:51Speaker 4: Yeah, that's I would put it toward that.
- 1:54Speaker 3: People are trying to weasel their way around it. Yeah,
- 1:58Speaker 3: i'd buy my parents' house and be left to me
- 2:01Speaker 3: in the will.
- 2:02Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:02Speaker 3: There you go by friends fast food franchises so I
- 2:06Speaker 3: could eat at them for free. Hmm selfish there, But I.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Mean those are it's fine.
- 2:13Speaker 3: I mean, you know, we didn't we didn't guide you
- 2:15Speaker 3: in any moral direction.
- 2:17Speaker 4: I'd spend it, you could do something nice.
- 2:19Speaker 3: Yeah, I'd spend it on my brother's two little kids,
- 2:22Speaker 3: their future college, et cetera, died of cancer. Can I
- 2:25Speaker 3: get to the service in the Marines? There somebody else
- 2:28Speaker 3: those kids? There's a perfect example right there, there's line one.
- 2:33Speaker 3: All right, let's see who is online one?
- 2:37Speaker 1: Yeah is Devon. Yeah at Devin, what would you do
- 2:40Speaker 1: with a million bucks? Well?
- 2:43Speaker 5: I would get my parents into a better home suitable
- 2:46Speaker 5: for their needs, their elderly, you know, like a Rambler
- 2:49Speaker 5: or something. And then I would get my mom the
- 2:51Speaker 5: best twenty four to seven Alzheimer's care around. She could
- 2:57Speaker 5: do that money.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Yeah, it'd be nice.
- 2:59Speaker 4: Too, able to do that with that care is expensive.
- 3:03Speaker 5: That's exactly yep.
- 3:06Speaker 1: All right, thank you, Devin.
- 3:08Speaker 3: Okay, you let's go to SID. Hello SID, Hi, guys.
- 3:13Speaker 6: So the money that I would give would be to
- 3:18Speaker 6: a veterinary clinic. So I don't do it full time anymore,
- 3:22Speaker 6: but I work for an emergency and critical care VET
- 3:27Speaker 6: and probably the hardest thing that I see is when
- 3:30Speaker 6: there's a surprise illness or injury and owners can't pay
- 3:35Speaker 6: for it. So it'd be nice to just be able to,
- 3:38Speaker 6: you know, offload a million dollars or a surprise injury or.
- 3:43Speaker 1: Illness, said what what do most people who get into
- 3:48Speaker 1: that situation? What what do they do? What? What? What
- 3:51Speaker 1: do most people do?
- 3:54Speaker 6: There's a couple of medical credit cards, but I always
- 3:57Speaker 6: warn people that they're highly predatory. Most of them offer
- 4:02Speaker 6: a like no h interest, but if you miss a payment,
- 4:08Speaker 6: they will back charge you for the right and months
- 4:12Speaker 6: that you were so.
- 4:13Speaker 1: So do most people do that though they do the
- 4:16Speaker 1: credit card or do they just say or do they
- 4:20Speaker 1: just just say, I can't take care of this pet,
- 4:23Speaker 1: You'll have to euthanize it.
- 4:26Speaker 6: So in the veterinary community, we try really hard not
- 4:29Speaker 6: to do that. And if you ask most people that
- 4:31Speaker 6: have been in the field for a long time, they
- 4:33Speaker 6: have several animals that have come from that situation where
- 4:37Speaker 6: it was something that was fixable and so they talked
- 4:39Speaker 6: to the owner about if it's okay if the clinic
- 4:43Speaker 6: takes on that particular pet. It's a very rare circumstance, luckily,
- 4:48Speaker 6: but we try really hard not to euthanize anything that's flexible.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Yeah. Sorry, I didn't mean to turn this into that chat,
- 4:57Speaker 1: but thank you. I'd like a big ben Woody. Well,
- 5:03Speaker 1: we're back with the X pole eight seven seven. If
- 5:06Speaker 1: you had a million bucks. Couldn't you couldn't spend it
- 5:09Speaker 1: on yourself. You weren't allowed to spend it on yourself.
- 5:11Speaker 1: What would you spend it on?
- 5:14Speaker 3: Let's see, let's go to h Jesse eight seven seven
- 5:18Speaker 3: six oh two nine six nine six is the number, Jesse.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Go ahead, Hi, Jesse, Hi, how are you doing a
- 5:24Speaker 1: good good and yourself?
- 5:27Speaker 5: I am doing excellent, Thank y'all good.
- 5:30Speaker 1: I decided if I had a million dollars, I would
- 5:33Speaker 1: pay off as much school lunch Net as I possibly could. Yeah,
- 5:37Speaker 1: that's that's a good suggestion. Mm hmmm, I don't remember.
- 5:40Speaker 2: I like that, although I think that the government should
- 5:44Speaker 2: pay for that, Like I think your million dollars should
- 5:46Speaker 2: go towards I think that should be the government should.
- 5:50Speaker 3: Take care of you.
- 5:50Speaker 1: I completely agree.
- 5:52Speaker 5: I think I think lunch should be free for kids.
- 5:54Speaker 5: Speaking of your ex pole that things that must go
- 5:57Speaker 5: school lunch Net, you'd have free lunch.
- 5:59Speaker 1: Hey man, listen, If we're gonna give free lunch to
- 6:02Speaker 1: the kids, I think that there should be a work
- 6:05Speaker 1: requirement with that. Get a free launch work're doing homework.
- 6:11Speaker 1: We put them to, uh, we put them to manual labor,
- 6:15Speaker 1: is what I'm thinking. Thanks Jesse, thanks to earn it
- 6:18Speaker 1: no matter what. All right, we give every kid a
- 6:22Speaker 1: bootstrap and then let them.
- 6:25Speaker 3: All right, thank you, Let's go to uh Caitlin, Hello, Kaitlyn.
- 6:28Speaker 4: Who Hi?
- 6:31Speaker 5: Hey, I would start a bariatric advocacy program buryatric advocacy.
- 6:39Speaker 7: I have morbid surgery, okay, all right, have a lot
- 6:46Speaker 7: of insurances do not cover it, and the state of
- 6:50Speaker 7: Utah does not recognize it among our central benefits. I'm
- 6:53Speaker 7: about thirty states due, and so I would start a
- 6:57Speaker 7: program to lobby with the Hill and Employer Group because
- 7:01Speaker 7: there's nothing more heartbreaking than telling a patient that I
- 7:03Speaker 7: literally can't do anything for that.
- 7:05Speaker 3: Oh yeah, okay, all right, thank you, thank you, thank
- 7:09Speaker 3: you very much. All right. Eight seven seven six oh
- 7:13Speaker 3: two nine six nine six Texters weighing in hands down.
- 7:18Speaker 3: It would be my little sister, regardless if I could
- 7:21Speaker 3: spend some on myself or not. Her husband committed suicide
- 7:24Speaker 3: last year. She has four kids, So I would buy
- 7:27Speaker 3: her house and a good reliable vehicle. Oh, my daughter
- 7:32Speaker 3: and her husband have been trying to adopt a baby
- 7:34Speaker 3: for nearly five years. I'd make that happen for them.
- 7:37Speaker 1: You go out and buy a baby.
- 7:38Speaker 3: Oh yeah, myself fetched. Sorry, I would I would completely
- 7:45Speaker 3: remodel my father's house and buy some land somewhere. Well
- 7:48Speaker 3: you'd get that though, wouldn't you.
- 7:50Speaker 1: And the baby.
- 7:53Speaker 3: Trap the trash man. That's easy. Animal rescue in sanctuary,
- 7:57Speaker 3: the trap, the trash man, Animal rescue and sanctuary. Am
- 8:00Speaker 3: I right, let's see pay off as much debt as
- 8:04Speaker 3: I can for my family and close friends. Hire a
- 8:08Speaker 3: bunch of private detectives to spy on each other and
- 8:11Speaker 3: record everything. It would just it would just be entertaining.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, it's says they.
- 8:16Speaker 2: Donate the million to the cell like pit Crew Pity
- 8:19Speaker 2: Bulldog Rescue.
- 8:21Speaker 3: I didn't know there was such a thing.
- 8:23Speaker 1: I just learned the other day that that people call pitbulls,
- 8:26Speaker 1: they call them their pities. Pities.
- 8:29Speaker 3: John is here, Hello John, Hey John.
- 8:32Speaker 6: I I give my million dollars to the parents clinics
- 8:38Speaker 6: that they're closing in.
- 8:39Speaker 3: Logan And that's good.
- 8:41Speaker 2: That's a good one.
- 8:41Speaker 1: Yeah, good answer to you, John, Thank you, Thank you, John.
- 8:47Speaker 3: All right, million dollars. I'm buying my wife her dream
- 8:53Speaker 3: home and hoping she lets me live with her.
- 8:59Speaker 1: I don't want a huge I don't need it.
- 9:01Speaker 3: But trouble.
- 9:02Speaker 5: You know.
- 9:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't need the house, but my wife would
- 9:04Speaker 1: love to have it.
- 9:04Speaker 3: Yes, my wife would love that. Let's see. I would
- 9:08Speaker 3: send my trans daughter to graduation school in Sweden. She's
- 9:12Speaker 3: super smart. Somebody says, I would buy the world of
- 9:14Speaker 3: coke and teach it, teach it harmony. Now, let's see.
- 9:20Speaker 3: I'd send underprivileged kids to Title one schools, to cool
- 9:23Speaker 3: things like sporting events and amusement parks. Half the state
- 9:29Speaker 3: school lunches, half the buying medical debt, oh, buying medicals.
- 9:35Speaker 3: Let's see. My favorite gift I ever gave was one
- 9:37Speaker 3: hundred dollars to a friend for Christmas, but she had
- 9:40Speaker 3: to spend it on other people. Tacos. Anybody I run into,
- 9:47Speaker 3: you get a taco. You get a taco, You get
- 9:49Speaker 3: a taco. Just walk down the street and passing out tacos.
- 9:52Speaker 1: All right, big bag of tacos.
- 9:55Speaker 3: Let's see, hands down, it would be my little sister.
- 9:58Speaker 3: Oh we did that, Oh we did that.
- 9:59Speaker 7: One.
- 10:01Speaker 3: I would put five hundred k aside for each of
- 10:03Speaker 3: my two kids for a down payment on their homes
- 10:05Speaker 3: when they're ready to buy a home, because houses are
- 10:07Speaker 3: too freaking expensive right now. A lot of people with
- 10:11Speaker 3: these same answers pay off school loans and medical debt
- 10:14Speaker 3: for my siblings.
- 10:15Speaker 1: I like this Montgomery Brewster here, Oh mon, I'm right.
- 10:19Speaker 1: They made a movie about this in the eighties. I
- 10:22Speaker 1: had to spend thirty million dollars in one month and
- 10:24Speaker 1: not spend it on myself. Classic movie Brewster's Millions nine five.
- 10:29Speaker 2: Well you're not doing a Richard Pryor voice though, Well
- 10:32Speaker 2: it's best.
- 10:35Speaker 1: Yeah, it's not a good idea, he did not do that.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Not a good idea.
- 10:40Speaker 3: Let's see. I would give it to my tribe to
- 10:42Speaker 3: help them get better healthcare, nutrition in housing. Oh okay,
- 10:46Speaker 3: let's see I would Let's see, I would take care
- 10:51Speaker 3: of my special needs nephew since his Medicaid is in danger.
- 10:54Speaker 7: Boy.
- 10:54Speaker 3: Yeah, I would pay for a maid for my parents
- 10:58Speaker 3: for life. They're too old to clean and don't live
- 11:01Speaker 3: close by.
- 11:02Speaker 1: You know.
- 11:02Speaker 2: Last year we were looking for my parents for a
- 11:06Speaker 2: Christmas gift. We said, oh, we we should get a
- 11:10Speaker 2: snow removal service, oh, for their so they don't have
- 11:14Speaker 2: to worry about Yeah. It's hard to find one though,
- 11:18Speaker 2: Like I couldn't find one that I could just hire
- 11:21Speaker 2: to do it. But somebody start that business so I
- 11:24Speaker 2: can hire you to shove them my parents walks.
- 11:28Speaker 1: This is all I would buy. I would pay off
- 11:30Speaker 1: my ex wife's home so that she and my daughter
- 11:34Speaker 1: don't have to worry about a mortgage.
- 11:36Speaker 4: Hmm, that's nice.
- 11:37Speaker 3: If bribing Supreme Court justices is cool, now, I think
- 11:42Speaker 3: I'd get them to vote my way on a few things.
- 11:46Speaker 4: Buy a politician.
- 11:47Speaker 3: Sure, let's even without that stipulation. If I had a
- 11:51Speaker 3: million dollars, every trans person I know would get their
- 11:53Speaker 3: gender affirming health care paid for until funds run out.
- 11:57Speaker 3: That's nice.
- 11:59Speaker 2: Somebody says, I build a new building for the government
- 12:01Speaker 2: funded special needs residential place I used to work at.
- 12:04Speaker 2: The current building is in terrible shape and the residents
- 12:07Speaker 2: deserve better.
- 12:10Speaker 1: Let's see, we have a lot of really generous people.
- 12:13Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 12:14Speaker 3: Yeah, That's what I'm learning is that most of these are.
- 12:17Speaker 1: Or would be generous if they had the money. But
- 12:21Speaker 1: I don't have the money.
- 12:22Speaker 3: So, you know, Teacher Emily Scholarship fund to my alma
- 12:25Speaker 3: moderate the U of you, I'd put some in the
- 12:29Speaker 3: Tom Barberry Scholaris.
- 12:30Speaker 4: Yeah, that's my sister and I started that for you.
- 12:33Speaker 3: Let's see, public school in general should be free.
- 12:38Speaker 4: Well, yeah, everything about they mean like technically it is,
- 12:42Speaker 4: but they mean like fees, many fees.
- 12:47Speaker 3: Let's see. Uh that's yeah, animal rescue and sanctuary. We
- 12:53Speaker 3: got a lot of very generous people listening to this
- 12:55Speaker 3: show so much for you know, somebody referring to you
- 13:00Speaker 3: Radio from Hell listeners as liberal elites.
- 13:06Speaker 2: Let's see, someone says, I give give it to Pamela Atkinson.
- 13:10Speaker 4: For all the homeless services.
- 13:12Speaker 3: Yeah, I'd buy a million dollars worth of nuts and
- 13:15Speaker 3: Pilotman Liberty Park for the squirrels. Really, that's what this
- 13:21Speaker 3: textas says. And I'm going to end on that one
- 13:25Speaker 3: because I love that.
- 13:26Speaker 1: I would, I would do that, but I would poison
- 13:29Speaker 1: the nuts bill and stand those squirrels.
