Speaker 1: In living color. You look so sunny and so happy, so.
• 1:06
Speaker 2: Happy in the desert.

Speaker 2: You better believe it, You better believe it.
• 1:14
Speaker 1: Yeah, how's my thoughtful man? How's how's mister thoughtful?
• 1:19
Speaker 2: In a great place, in a great place. I was
• 1:22
Speaker 2: able to get out and do my walk this morning.
• 1:24
Speaker 2: Played pickleball earlier than normal, But that's okay because you
• 1:31
Speaker 2: know everyone's out there. Everyone's out there before it warms up,
• 1:35
Speaker 2: and even though it's going to get into like maybe
• 1:38
Speaker 2: the high seventies, low eighties, it still feels warmer than that.
• 1:45
Speaker 1: You know well you are. You are a warm person,
• 1:48
Speaker 1: and I want to ask you a very interesting question.
• 1:52
Speaker 2: Okay, right, so we're gonna die.
• 1:56
Speaker 1: We're gonna dive right now into your romance. Fans want
• 2:01
Speaker 1: to know you left Bachelor in Paradise with Leslie. Yes, Leslie,
• 2:06
Speaker 1: who I love Leslie? And you guys were hanging out
• 2:10
  Speaker 1: in Tahoe.
• 2:11
Speaker 2: Yes, I was there.
• 2:12
Speaker 1: Yes, yes, yes, Bachelor and Paradise was airing. Yes, and
• 2:17
Speaker 1: we have no idea what happened after the show. Okay,
• 2:21
Speaker 1: did you guys try to date? What happened?
• 2:24
Speaker 2: You know? It's interesting because I wouldn't call it dating
• 2:29
Speaker 2: as much as it was just a close knit friendship,
• 2:34
Speaker 2: like a connection like best friends, right, not dating or
• 2:41
Speaker 2: with an intention of loving each other or I love
• 2:46
Speaker 2: her dearly, don't get me wrong, but in a friend
• 2:50
Speaker 2: kind of way, not in a romantic kind of way.
• 2:54
Speaker 1: Okay, So I really like you just said dating with intention?
• 2:58
Speaker 1: I say that, you know, I love that because I
• 3:02
  Speaker 1: say it.
• 3:03
Speaker 2: Yeah, And it's an interesting dichotomy of when you're dating
• 3:08
Speaker 2: with intention, you make things happen. Both parties make things.
• 3:16
Speaker 2: You just make things happen. And yeah, and so we're
• 3:23
Speaker 2: the best of friends. We've always been. I respect her
• 3:26
Speaker 2: dearly and it comes back and that that is a
• 3:29
Speaker 2: wonderful that's a wonderful thing to have.
• 3:32
Speaker 1: Well, I love you saying so many beautiful things about
• 3:34
Speaker 1: Leslie because she is a beauty. I'm her biggest fan.
• 3:38
Speaker 1: I love her so much. She's best, she's the grandmother,
• 3:41
Speaker 1: she's gorgeous, she's so much fun. I did want her
• 3:45
Speaker 1: to teach me some dance moves, but she did not.
• 3:47
Speaker 1: But we'll get to that later. But I really love
• 3:51
Speaker 1: what you just said about dating with intention, and I
• 3:53
Speaker 1: also really love what you said about you meet a
• 3:57
Speaker 1: lot of people, but then when you do meet that person, yes,
• 4:03
Speaker 1: it's like, let's go, we're ready to do this.
• 4:06
Speaker 2: And you know, Kelly, it does hit differently later in life.
• 4:10
Speaker 2: Later in life, when love hits you, it hits differently
• 4:15
Speaker 2: because you know what really matters and what's important, and
• 4:21
Speaker 2: the little stuff that you used to think was important,
• 4:25
Speaker 2: it really isn't. It really isn't m the respect that
• 4:28
Speaker 2: you have for one another. It's the recognizing the imperfections
• 4:34
Speaker 2: are going to be there, but you worked through them
• 4:38
Speaker 2: later in life to have great times, because that's all
• 4:44
Speaker 2: that matters. It really is Oh.
• 4:48
Speaker 1: My god, you're giving me like these like beautiful chill
• 4:51
Speaker 1: not chills, not like in a booth, but like a
• 4:54
Speaker 1: warm Oh my god, I love that. I love that.
• 4:57
Speaker 1: It's so true speaking of these beautiful, beautiful thoughts. Yes,
• 5:02
Speaker 1: you just hard launched that you're in a relationship. I wait,
• 5:08
Speaker 1: why didn't I know this? There's no DM Hey, Kelly
• 5:11
Speaker 1: knew that was that's what's happening. Nothing crag well friends.
• 5:18
Speaker 1: I thought we were like texting buddies, and all of
• 5:22
  Speaker 1: a sudden, it's like.
• 5:24
Speaker 2: You know, Kelly tell us about her. Yes, So we
• 5:28
Speaker 2: met at church believe it or not, beautiful, and I
• 5:33
Speaker 2: saw her leaving one day and I said, are you
• 5:36
Speaker 2: Are you new? And she said. When she turned around
• 5:39
Speaker 2: and we both looked at each other, it was like
• 5:43
Speaker 2: the clouds open, the trumpets were playing, and it was
• 5:46
Speaker 2: just one of those things that hits you like this
• 5:50
Speaker 2: isn't a fantasy, this is real. And so from that
• 5:55
Speaker 2: day on it just became something really really special. I
• 6:00
Speaker 2: cherish I cherish it to no end because I've never
• 6:06
Speaker 2: felt like this for anyone. And she says the same thing.
• 6:12
Speaker 2: So it's great getting filled back up when we pour out.
• 6:16
Speaker 2: So much because you know, like you were givers. We
• 6:20
Speaker 2: just give and give and give, so when it comes back,
• 6:25
Speaker 2: it's an amazing it's an amazing feeling. It really really is.
• 6:30
Speaker 1: So do you think the faith brought you guys together
• 6:33
Speaker 1: or do you think that's one of your common bonds
• 6:36
Speaker 1: or what do you what do you think? What are
• 6:38
Speaker 1: your thoughts on the faith?
• 6:40
Speaker 2: Okay, so you've heard of being equally yoked? Right, you've
• 6:43
Speaker 2: heard of that comment that's saying, and I think it
• 6:47
Speaker 2: is our faith. But I also think it was divine
• 6:51
Speaker 2: intervention because she's not on social media. She never saw
• 6:57
Speaker 2: me on the show, and I thought, you're not on
• 7:01
Speaker 2: social media? This is twenty twenty five, What do you mean?
• 7:07
  Speaker 2: You kidding me?
• 7:08
Speaker 1: Like, really, she's for really non social media, like no
• 7:10
  Speaker 1: social like nothing.
• 7:12
Speaker 2: Really for her. And I did too, you know, so
• 7:17
Speaker 2: that's not what brings her joy. And I thought, this
• 7:21
Speaker 2: is this is really special that someone is liking me
• 7:27
Speaker 2: because of who I am, not where I came from
• 7:30
Speaker 2: or what I've done.
• 7:32
Speaker 1: Okay, so tell me. So we we we heard about
• 7:36
Speaker 1: how you guys first met. Yes, clearly have this amazing
• 7:40
Speaker 1: beautiful mind heavens. Yeah, I mean, come on, tell me, Kelly, Kelly,
• 7:47
Speaker 1: I'm like, I'm going to get in trouble. Gary, tell
• 7:51
Speaker 1: me about your first date. What'd you guys do? I
• 7:54
Speaker 1: know you're so incredible, You're gonna love this. I'm your
• 7:58
Speaker 1: biggest fan, by the way, So like, I'm just.
• 8:01
Speaker 2: So our first date now, I'll even go into our
• 8:04
Speaker 2: second date. Our first date was going out for coffee
• 8:07
Speaker 2: at iw Coffee Indian Well's coffee shop. We had coffee
• 8:12
Speaker 2: and we just talked and we talked and talked and talked.
• 8:16
Speaker 2: And the second date we went on was at at
• 8:21
Speaker 2: at a protein store for like getting protein shakes. Okay,
• 8:26
Speaker 2: and I forget the name of the place, but yeah,
• 8:29
Speaker 2: And so that was our first date. It wasn't some
• 8:33
Speaker 2: champagne dinner with caviaar and candle lights. It was at
• 8:37
Speaker 2: my favorite i W coffee, which was yeah. Yeah, So
• 8:47
  Speaker 2: what did you.
• 8:47
Speaker 1: What kind of questions did you ask her? Just give
• 8:50
  Speaker 1: me a couple?
• 8:51
Speaker 2: Yeah, so I asked her. Actually what I did is
• 8:55
Speaker 2: I told her about me being on the show, like
• 9:00
Speaker 2: what Like, well, I shared with her that I was
• 9:03
Speaker 2: on Golden Bachelorade and I was on Bachelor in Paradise
• 9:07
Speaker 2: and there's lots of people and I now wear this
• 9:11
Speaker 2: shield of celebrity now on my sleeve, something I'm still
• 9:16
Speaker 2: getting used to. And she's like, oh my god, really
• 9:20
Speaker 2: I've never watched the show. And she's saying that. I'm like,
• 9:25
Speaker 2: I like that, you've never seen this, and you're taking
• 9:28
Speaker 2: me for who I am as a person. But I
• 9:30
Speaker 2: had to share that with her. And then she shared
• 9:33
Speaker 2: a couple of things about what she's into in terms
• 9:37
Speaker 2: of working out and walking and all the things, and
• 9:41
  Speaker 2: I go, well, I enjoy walking. Also, I'm not a
• 9:44
Speaker 2: runner anymore. And we talked about going hiking and all
• 9:48
Speaker 2: the things, and how she likes walking on the beach,
• 9:50
Speaker 2: and I go, well, I like walking on the beach.
• 9:53
Speaker 2: And I said, let's go to Malibu. And we end
• 9:57
Speaker 2: up going to Malibu, and then we went to Santa
• 9:59
Speaker 2: Monica and and everything was just falling in place. And Kelly,
• 10:05
Speaker 2: I gotta tell you, wait.
• 10:07
Speaker 1: Your third date, you guys went on a trip.
• 10:10
Speaker 2: You drove to Malibu, well exact the third date, maybe
• 10:14
Speaker 2: it was somewhere in there.
• 10:16
Speaker 1: Well, because the first date was coffee, the second date
• 10:18
Speaker 1: was the protein drink. And so now we're now we're
• 10:21
  Speaker 1: already in Malibu.
• 10:23
Speaker 2: Wow, already I'm like, I'm trying to yeah, to go
• 10:29
Speaker 2: places that I like to go to, and she likes
• 10:34
  Speaker 2: to go too.
• 10:35
  Speaker 1: I love that.
• 10:35
Speaker 2: And yeah, we just made it happen for all the
• 10:40
  Speaker 2: right reasons.
• 10:41
Speaker 1: So now you told her about your experiences, but like,
• 10:45
Speaker 1: what did you and you you know, you talk about
• 10:48
  Speaker 1: walking and running. But let's let's let's go, let's get
• 10:52
Speaker 1: into this. I don't want to hear about the walking
• 10:54
Speaker 1: and the running. What did you tell her? You must
• 10:58
Speaker 1: tell her something really good.
• 11:00
Speaker 2: Well, I told her, I said, I'm not looking for
• 11:03
Speaker 2: a girlfriend. You did girlfriend?
• 11:06
Speaker 1: Yeah, I said, So you took yourself out of the game.
• 11:09
  Speaker 2: You're just saying I said, I'm looking for a wife.
• 11:13
Speaker 2: I'm looking for a wife, you know, she said, And
• 11:16
Speaker 2: I'm looking for a husband. Oh my god, she said that. Kelly.
• 11:23
Speaker 2: I'm like, boy, things just got real real fast.
• 11:28
Speaker 1: Am I heard you a wedding? Am I going to
• 11:30
Speaker 1: be a flower girl?
• 11:32
Speaker 2: But isn't that how it happens. It's all in God's timing,
• 11:35
Speaker 2: not mine. And and I truly believe that He's been
• 11:39
Speaker 2: preparing me as I've been praying to show me her face.
• 11:43
Speaker 2: I want to hear her voice, and prayers come true.
• 11:48
Speaker 1: Yeah, Oh my god, So did you say, like I
• 11:53
Speaker 1: really want you to know like who I am? Should
• 11:55
Speaker 1: we watch the show together? Should we get a glass
• 11:58
Speaker 1: of wine and kind of go through some of the
• 12:00
Speaker 1: highlights or go on TikTok and check them out?
• 12:03
Speaker 2: Nope, I did not want to go to the show
• 12:06
Speaker 2: because that's not something that she particularly wanted to see.
• 12:12
Speaker 2: But what was also intrigguing was you're gonna love this one.
• 12:19
Speaker 2: She was listening to sports talk radio and I actually
• 12:24
Speaker 2: thought it was my phone, and she goes, no, I
• 12:27
Speaker 2: like listening to sports talk radio.
• 12:31
  Speaker 1: You like what?
• 12:32
Speaker 2: Thank you Jesus, thank you Lord. She likes sports, as
• 12:37
Speaker 2: do I. So all these little golden trinkets are falling
• 12:41
Speaker 2: and dropping and I'm just in seventh Heaven about who
• 12:47
Speaker 2: I'm walking with now, and it's truly special.
• 13:00
Speaker 1: First of all, I love that you guys are like
• 13:02
Speaker 1: talking about things like sports, and you know, I think
• 13:06
Speaker 1: that's amazing. But I mean I kind of feel like
• 13:09
Speaker 1: you should be talking to her a little bit about
• 13:11
Speaker 1: the show because she's going to find out and there
• 13:14
Speaker 1: has This is just my personal opinion, but I feel
• 13:17
Speaker 1: like you guys should like have some kind of conversation.
• 13:22
Speaker 2: Because I believe it or not, we have.
• 13:25
Speaker 1: You don't want her to make her own you know,
• 13:26
Speaker 1: you don't want her to assume you know what I mean,
• 13:28
Speaker 1: like if you really care about her like wifey material.
• 13:31
Speaker 2: Hello, totally, And that's part of my history, my makeup
• 13:34
Speaker 2: over the past two years. And so I have shared
• 13:37
Speaker 2: with her and I have said, you know, if we're
• 13:39
Speaker 2: at dinner, someone may come over and and call me out.
• 13:44
Speaker 2: She says, Yeah, just like we did last night at
• 13:47
Speaker 2: dinner when they were shouting Gary, we love you, and
• 13:51
Speaker 2: I'm trying to like get away like any celebrity would,
• 13:56
Speaker 2: but I also acknowledge them and turned around and she
• 13:59
Speaker 2: as well said that is so awesome.
• 14:01
Speaker 1: Yeah, but you're just a gracious You're such a gracious human.
• 14:05
Speaker 1: And I would know that because I walked the carpet
• 14:08
Speaker 1: with you, and you're such a kind, thoughtful, You're just
• 14:16
Speaker 1: very You're so gracious, Like I can't imagine that her.
• 14:20
Speaker 1: You know, you made her feel really comfortable. So what
• 14:22
Speaker 1: about divorce? Did you guys? Have you guys had conversations
• 14:25
Speaker 1: about divorce or your like real story outside of walking
• 14:29
Speaker 1: and talking in sports.
• 14:31
Speaker 2: Yeah, I told her about my prior relationship and with
• 14:35
Speaker 2: my ex wife and the kids or not adult kids.
• 14:41
  Speaker 1: And.
• 14:44
Speaker 2: You know, she says, well, we want to be together
• 14:47
Speaker 2: for the rest of our lives, and that's what's really important.
• 14:50
Speaker 2: That's all that matters. And we're both forward looking, not
• 14:54
Speaker 2: looking back too much into the past, but using that
• 14:58
Speaker 2: as a foundation to keep moving forward.
• 15:00
Speaker 1: Wait, so when did you Because for the for the
• 15:02
Speaker 1: this is really important Gary, for our listeners, like they
• 15:05
Speaker 1: want to know they need advice, right, and you're the
• 15:07
Speaker 1: best person to get advice from because you're a really
• 15:10
Speaker 1: solid male, like amazing role model. So what did you
• 15:15
Speaker 1: guys bring this up about divorce and children? When did
• 15:19
Speaker 1: you guys talk about that?
• 15:20
Speaker 2: That was on the very first date. We got deep
• 15:23
Speaker 2: like that on the first date. Yeah, I did not
• 15:26
Speaker 2: want to hold back because I knew that this was
• 15:29
Speaker 2: someone that was so very very important that I did
• 15:33
Speaker 2: not want to let go of and not knowing that
• 15:37
Speaker 2: she was in the same mindset. Yeah, and so I
• 15:41
Speaker 2: wanted to be upfront and forthright about every possible thing.
• 15:46
Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, Kelly, and it just played out in
• 15:49
Speaker 2: my favor. And so, yeah, it was. It was the
• 15:52
Speaker 2: very first date we got real with each other about
• 15:57
Speaker 2: about who we were as people, and I am telling
• 16:02
Speaker 2: you I'm gonna murder this.
• 16:04
  Speaker 1: Is she divorced?
• 16:06
Speaker 2: She is divorced. Yes, yes, yes, So we both have
• 16:10
Speaker 2: been through that, that walk together and and she's a
• 16:17
Speaker 2: very private person, which I also like about. I love that.
• 16:21
Speaker 2: And you will get to meet her, and I look
• 16:25
Speaker 2: forward to sharing lots more with you personally with her present.
• 16:32
  Speaker 1: I can't wait to meet her. I can't wait.
• 16:38
Speaker 2: And you're still going strong. We now are getting forgether
• 16:42
Speaker 2: for taco Tuesdays, and we have movie nights on Fridays,
• 16:48
Speaker 2: and Saturdays are football Saturdays. And we have our church
• 16:52
Speaker 2: on Sunday. So we're incorporating everyday life into the relationship
• 16:58
Speaker 2: of things that we both enjoyed doing.
• 17:00
Speaker 1: I love that. So what about talking to meeting her kids?
• 17:03
Speaker 1: What about that? What's what's the plan?
• 17:06
  Speaker 2: No kids?
• 17:07
Speaker 1: She doesn't have children, And what are her thoughts about
• 17:11
  Speaker 1: meeting your kid?
• 17:13
Speaker 2: We have, she has met them on the phone. We're
• 17:16
Speaker 2: going to be driving out soon. If I'm not mistaken.
• 17:19
Speaker 2: I think we're going out for Halloween, so that's going
• 17:24
Speaker 2: to be a big time, and then of course Thanksgiving
• 17:28
Speaker 2: which is soon to follow. But yeah, everything is lining
• 17:32
Speaker 2: up in all the right ways, for all the right reasons.
• 17:36
Speaker 2: And I am just humbled to knowing that I have
• 17:40
Speaker 2: that I found my person and it feels wonderful. Kelly,
• 17:46
  Speaker 2: I'm so happy.
• 17:47
  Speaker 1: I'm like beaming for you. I don't know why. I'm
• 17:49
Speaker 1: so proud. I'm so excited for.
• 17:51
Speaker 2: You because you were a big part of my journey,
• 17:55
Speaker 2: you know, and show the pictures and the videos and
• 18:00
Speaker 2: the fun times, and you were a big part of that.
• 18:04
Speaker 2: Really go, so we're connected for the right reasons.
• 18:07
Speaker 1: Are you in love?
• 18:09
Speaker 2: I am in love? I can say that and we
• 18:12
Speaker 2: have both said it to each other, and I'm so
• 18:16
  Speaker 2: happy to say.
• 18:19
Speaker 1: Wait, how many months have been? Let's go back, because
• 18:21
Speaker 1: now this is for the listeners.
• 18:23
Speaker 2: It's been let me see, that was like right after
• 18:31
Speaker 2: the Tahoe trip when we became exclusive.
• 18:35
Speaker 1: So this has been a while. Yeah, but you didn't
• 18:41
Speaker 1: tell me about this in Tahoe, by the way, nothing.
• 18:45
  Speaker 2: Because it's just Tahoe. We're working, we're enjoined time, we're
• 18:50
Speaker 2: just having a great time. And then I think that
• 18:54
Speaker 2: was before after I went to Africa, I can't recall,
• 18:58
Speaker 2: and she gave me some special tools while I was
• 19:02
Speaker 2: away in Tahoe. Just just some writings that she had
• 19:06
Speaker 2: given me, and it carried me through some pretty difficult
• 19:10
Speaker 2: times seeing people and you know, I don't want to
• 19:15
Speaker 2: say in a bad place, but just in a different light.
• 19:18
Speaker 2: You know that the third world country is just you know,
• 19:21
Speaker 2: it's it's it is. And so that also brought us
• 19:26
Speaker 2: closer together. And here we are.
• 19:29
  Speaker 1: You're smiling, you're beaming.
• 19:31
  Speaker 2: I am smitten.
• 19:33
Speaker 1: I have some news for you too.
• 19:35
Speaker 2: Yes, darling, tell me I'm waiting.
• 19:37
Speaker 1: We have a romance. Yes, it's happening, finally happening. It's happening.
• 19:47
Speaker 2: Isn't it a great feeling? Though?
• 19:50
Speaker 1: You know it's beautiful too. Is that you're talking about privacy? Yeah,
• 19:53
Speaker 1: And I was going to say, you know, both of
• 19:55
Speaker 1: us have very public personas and public lives. H and
• 20:01
Speaker 1: he's very private, and I've always been very private in
• 20:05
Speaker 1: my personal life. I mean, there's no way I would
• 20:07
Speaker 1: ever have been able to raise the girls that I've
• 20:09
Speaker 1: raised if I were publicly you know, you know, showing
• 20:14
Speaker 1: off my boyfriends, so or the guy, and I won't
• 20:18
Speaker 1: want to call them boyfriends because that's not fair. Guys
• 20:19
Speaker 1: that men that I have dated in the past. So
• 20:22
Speaker 1: this guy, he is my boyfriend. And he is very
• 20:27
Speaker 1: very incredibly he's very I can't even speak, look at me.
• 20:32
Speaker 1: I'm like, what's wrong with me?
• 20:33
Speaker 2: I usually I'm like kind, caring.
• 20:36
Speaker 1: He's wildly kind, very thoughtful, girl dad, very successful, very creative.
• 20:45
Speaker 1: I mean when I met him and I saw him
• 20:48
Speaker 1: in his element, yes, just like the way he was
• 20:52
Speaker 1: talking about the things that he does, I was like, whoa,
• 20:57
Speaker 1: this guy is amazing. He's also super adventurous. He's very
• 21:03
Speaker 1: protective of me, very he encourages me to do everything
• 21:08
Speaker 1: from work, podcasting, like all my brands, all my influencing.
• 21:13
Speaker 1: He really like he'll be like, oh this was good,
• 21:16
Speaker 1: that wasn't so great? Do this? Maybe? Do this a
• 21:18
Speaker 1: done other time? Like he's very very helpful. Yes, and supportive,
• 21:23
  Speaker 1: super super supportive.
• 21:26
Speaker 2: Isn't that a great feeling when we I mean I've potted.
• 21:29
Speaker 1: I've potted at his home and he like walked by
• 21:33
Speaker 1: and he like he was like, he's like, keep going,
• 21:36
Speaker 1: keep going, you're doing it. I'm like, no one does that.
• 21:39
Speaker 1: My kids are like, mom, why are you talking about
• 21:42
Speaker 1: all that weirdness? Like no, no, not weirdness, this is
• 21:47
  Speaker 1: important important stuff.
• 21:49
  Speaker 2: Yes, that was.
• 21:50
Speaker 1: My daughter just like trying to chime in because my
• 21:52
Speaker 1: kids are constantly calling.
• 21:53
Speaker 2: Me, and again, you know, it's amazing when they get
• 21:58
Speaker 2: behind our causes, when they get behind too, not only support,
• 22:04
Speaker 2: but to push and lift and to pull when we needed.
• 22:09
Speaker 2: And you know, it's something to be said about someone,
• 22:13
Speaker 2: as I said earlier, pouring into us Kelly, right, yeah,
• 22:18
Speaker 2: because you like me. You're such a giving person. You're
• 22:22
Speaker 2: such a caring, loving and you give to a not
• 22:27
Speaker 2: to a fault, but out of love you get You're
• 22:30
  Speaker 2: a giver. I'm the same.
• 22:32
Speaker 1: Interesting though, and maybe this, this is some advice that
• 22:35
Speaker 1: we should both give to the listeners, is that I was,
• 22:40
Speaker 1: you know, on a podcast with one of my friends
• 22:42
Speaker 1: a couple of weeks ago, and I told her that
• 22:43
Speaker 1: I've never been in love, which is true. And I
• 22:46
Speaker 1: think that, like you just said, I am very giving
• 22:49
Speaker 1: to my friends. I am very giving to my family.
• 22:52
Speaker 1: I show them consistently that I care for them, that
• 22:57
Speaker 1: they can trust me, that I'm here for them, and
• 23:02
Speaker 1: that is really, really, really important to me. But for
• 23:05
Speaker 1: some reason, with men, I have a very I just
• 23:10
Speaker 1: feel I don't feel safe. I feel like they're exploiting me,
• 23:14
Speaker 1: or they're trying to meet someone through me, or they're
• 23:16
Speaker 1: trying to use me for business, or like I just
• 23:19
Speaker 1: always felt like every man that I've been with has
• 23:25
Speaker 1: wanted to be with Kelly Ben Simone and the figure
• 23:30
Speaker 1: and not the Kelly Ben Simone that you know.
• 23:33
Speaker 2: You know, Yes, small town USA.
• 23:36
Speaker 1: Girl, small town USA, rock for a little.
• 23:39
Speaker 2: I get it. But again, but.
• 23:42
Speaker 1: Let's talk about the advice. Let's talk about the advice
• 23:45
Speaker 1: about finding love the second time around. Like, just give us,
• 23:50
Speaker 1: like some two things to do and I'll think about
• 23:55
Speaker 1: it too. What do you what are your thoughts?
• 23:57
Speaker 2: My initial thought is, don't ever give up. Just just
• 24:02
Speaker 2: keep the faith, keep hope alive, and it will happen
• 24:08
Speaker 2: if you just be patient and persevere. It will come
• 24:15
Speaker 2: to you. It will find you when you least expected
• 24:19
Speaker 2: it's coming. So don't ever give up, knowing that there's
• 24:25
Speaker 2: a much higher source in being that has your back
• 24:29
Speaker 2: and always has. It's just a matter of his timing,
• 24:33
Speaker 2: not hours, you know, we can't. He works on a
• 24:36
Speaker 2: different clock. But when it happens, be ready to take
• 24:44
Speaker 2: it in and say, you know what they're showing up
• 24:47
Speaker 2: for me and what a great feeling.
• 24:51
Speaker 1: So mine would be one of mine would be and
• 24:53
Speaker 1: then I'm going to go back to you. Is kind
• 24:56
Speaker 1: of like nods to what you're saying. And that's being
• 24:59
Speaker 1: positive because I feel a lot of people that I
• 25:02
Speaker 1: have spoken to since they've been hearing me on the pod,
• 25:05
Speaker 1: they're like, well, how am I supposed to be Kelly?
• 25:08
Speaker 1: What am I supposed to do? I'm I supposed to
• 25:09
Speaker 1: FaceTime them. They're asking me all these questions. Questions are
• 25:11
Speaker 1: like bullet, bullet, blahlah blah, bullet, And I'm like, it's
• 25:15
Speaker 1: not about that, It's just you have to be you
• 25:18
Speaker 1: have to feel good about yourself.
• 25:21
  Speaker 2: You know.
• 25:21
Speaker 1: I know that people make fun of energy, but it is.
• 25:26
Speaker 1: I mean, when I walk down the street, I'm smiling.
• 25:30
Speaker 1: I smile a lot, and people are always like, oh,
• 25:31
Speaker 1: you're always smiling. I'm not smiling because I'm opening my
• 25:35
Speaker 1: mouth up catching flies. Like I am a genuinely, inherently
• 25:38
Speaker 1: happy person. I feel very grateful to be able to
• 25:41
Speaker 1: do the things that I do, and so there's a
• 25:43
Speaker 1: positivity that resonates because of that, and I think that's
• 25:47
Speaker 1: super important. And when I see people that are grumpy,
• 25:51
Speaker 1: I mean, I will always say something nic if someone's garvy,
• 25:53
Speaker 1: I'm always like looking good today, and they're.
• 25:56
Speaker 2: Like, ah, I totally get that. I'm going to make
• 25:59
Speaker 2: a bolt, Yes, go ahead. Yeah. I think it starts
• 26:02
Speaker 2: from within. It's like a fruit that the tree is
• 26:08
Speaker 2: bearing fruit, right, and it starts from within. It starts
• 26:13
Speaker 2: with it with its roots. And so you've got to
• 26:18
Speaker 2: it starts from within. And there's this little trick that
• 26:22
Speaker 2: I use, and I've shared this with some folks, looking
• 26:27
Speaker 2: in the mirror and saying I love you, and when
• 26:32
Speaker 2: you say I love you, and you're looking at yourself
• 26:34
Speaker 2: and that sixth sense of hearing it seeing yourself. And
• 26:39
Speaker 2: I did that and I said I love you, and
• 26:43
Speaker 2: I smiled and then I said I really love you,
• 26:48
Speaker 2: and it just turned the inside of me. It took
• 26:53
Speaker 2: me to a place of total joy and happiness. So
• 26:57
Speaker 2: I think it starts from within too, you know, so
• 27:02
Speaker 2: that we're not walking around frumpy and down and it's
• 27:05
Speaker 2: not going to find me in love is too far
• 27:08
Speaker 2: away and it's out of reach. It's right there. Just
• 27:11
Speaker 2: let it come to you and it will and it will.
• 27:15
Speaker 1: So here's another nod to you. You said when you were,
• 27:19
Speaker 1: you know, talking about your new love, about how when
• 27:23
Speaker 1: you guys first met that you didn't go into the past,
• 27:26
Speaker 1: and I'm not a trauma bonder like a lot of
• 27:29
Speaker 1: people are, like, let me tell you about my past.
• 27:31
Speaker 1: I'm like, no, no, no, no, thank you. I really do
• 27:32
Speaker 1: want to hear about your past if it comes up later. Hey,
• 27:36
Speaker 1: this is a trigger of mine. This happened to me
• 27:38
Speaker 1: this instance. I definitely want to hear about that. But
• 27:41
Speaker 1: I don't want you to kitchen think about your past
• 27:44
Speaker 1: because I want to hear about us. I don't want
• 27:49
Speaker 1: to hear about going there right going forward. And that
• 27:53
Speaker 1: was one thing that was really interesting about my new
• 27:57
Speaker 1: boyfriend is that he he said that to me. He
• 28:01
Speaker 1: was like, I don't want to hear He asked me
• 28:04
  Speaker 1: like a thousand questions a day, and he's like, I
• 28:06
  Speaker 1: don't want to hear about X or Y. I mean,
• 28:09
Speaker 1: he was very interested to hear about why I've never
• 28:14
Speaker 1: been in love because I've been married before and then
• 28:16
Speaker 1: I was engaged, so he wanted to know about that.
• 28:21
Speaker 1: And I didn't get the opportunity to be like, Okay,
• 28:22
Speaker 1: so I'm a little screwed up and I've had some
• 28:27
Speaker 1: things happened to me in the past which I don't
• 28:29
Speaker 1: want to talk about.
• 28:30
Speaker 2: Isn't it interesting, Kelly. We all have imperfections.
• 28:33
Speaker 1: So to we have to allow the past to live
• 28:36
Speaker 1: in the past, and if there are moments where it
• 28:39
Speaker 1: helps to create clarity, like you can cherry pick those moments. Yes,
• 28:44
Speaker 1: but I think that, you know, I think that when
• 28:45
Speaker 1: people go on their first dates and they just start
• 28:48
Speaker 1: unloading on the other person. First of all, I don't
• 28:51
  Speaker 1: need a therapist like I have one. She's a fortune.
• 28:55
  Speaker 1: It's she's great, like I need a partner in my
• 28:59
Speaker 1: love crime. That's what I'm looking for. I'm looking for
• 29:01
Speaker 1: that next chapter with good news, with excitement, with adventure,
• 29:07
Speaker 1: with you know, just and you know family. I want,
• 29:11
Speaker 1: you know, I've always said I want a family for
• 29:13
Speaker 1: my family, and I do. I want sure whoever that is.
• 29:17
Speaker 1: I definitely want my family and their family to feel
• 29:20
Speaker 1: a whole. That's really, really, really important to me.
• 29:24
Speaker 2: And the other big piece of that for the listeners
• 29:27
Speaker 2: is this, we want them as we do. Embrace the
• 29:34
Speaker 2: imperfections because we're not perfect, but embrace what you have
• 29:40
Speaker 2: in front of you going forward and knowing that there's
• 29:45
Speaker 2: going to be challenges, there's going to be hurdles, and
• 29:49
Speaker 2: if you can both overcome those challenges and hurdles. Oh
• 29:53
Speaker 2: my gosh, what a wonderful thing. You know. I like
• 29:56
Speaker 2: to use the roller coaster analogy of life coaster, but
• 30:00
Speaker 2: it's a two seat roller coaster for you both to
• 30:03
Speaker 2: go through those ups and downs, in the swirls and
• 30:06
Speaker 2: the oh here we got, you know, so we've got
• 30:11
Speaker 2: to embrace the imperfections also, because we're not perfect.
• 30:25
Speaker 1: I heard this beautiful quote from Maril Monroe where she
• 30:29
Speaker 1: said that, you know, everyone is trying to smooth out
• 30:32
Speaker 1: the rough edges, but the rough edges are what catched.
• 30:35
Speaker 2: The light eight man. I just saw something on that
• 30:39
  Speaker 2: as well.
• 30:40
Speaker 1: Yeah, how gorgeous is that?
• 30:42
  Speaker 2: That is fabulous?
• 30:44
Speaker 1: Mark Jacobs when I wrote this book, and Mark Jacobs
• 30:47
Speaker 1: gave me a quote about how much he found so
• 30:50
Speaker 1: much beauty and imperfection, and I just was always like,
• 30:53
Speaker 1: that's what beauty is. Beauty is the interaction imperfection.
• 30:57
Speaker 2: It really really is, and that's what makes who and
• 31:00
Speaker 2: what we are. And we're constantly better than the person
• 31:04
Speaker 2: we were yesterday. But it doesn't mean that I have
• 31:08
Speaker 2: to be perfect in any form of the imagination.
• 31:12
Speaker 1: Well, you are better every day than Let's make that clearer.
• 31:19
Speaker 1: I mean you're like everyone, I'm like, not everyone, Gary,
• 31:24
Speaker 1: Sorry to burst the bubble. You Yes, what about? What
• 31:30
  Speaker 1: what about?
• 31:30
  Speaker 2: What about?
• 31:31
Speaker 1: What about? On the Golden Bachelorette. Are you going to
• 31:33
Speaker 1: introduce your girlfriend to any of the guys from this
• 31:38
Speaker 1: premiere season or No?
• 31:39
Speaker 2: I plan on doing that. And we have talked about
• 31:44
Speaker 2: the guys who do have dates or people that they're
• 31:48
Speaker 2: seeing I'm getting together and what a wonderful uh thing
• 31:53
Speaker 2: that would be for the bromance and the brotherhood to
• 31:57
Speaker 2: now share our new fan sweethearts. So yeah, we've talked
• 32:03
Speaker 2: about that. No, quick, I'm not hiding this from anyone,
• 32:06
Speaker 2: which is why i had to do my hard lunch
• 32:10
Speaker 2: because I'm so proud of where I come from and
• 32:14
Speaker 2: but more importantly where I'm going, right Kelly, It's where
• 32:18
  Speaker 2: we're going. It's where we're going.
• 32:21
Speaker 1: It is. I mean, I'm just super super happy for you,
• 32:27
Speaker 1: and I'm really really excited about, you know, everything that's
• 32:32
Speaker 1: happening in your future. And I'm just interested to hear
• 32:35
Speaker 1: what the guys from the Golden Busherd are going to say.
• 32:38
Speaker 1: I'm totally I want to be a fly on the wall.
• 32:41
  Speaker 1: I Am like.
• 32:45
Speaker 2: We've already been sharing we've already been sharing and everybody
• 32:49
Speaker 2: is so you know, we're all just happy for each other.
• 32:52
Speaker 2: It's like it's like a big celebration, you know, whenever
• 32:56
Speaker 2: somebody says and this is who I've got and this
• 32:59
Speaker 2: is who I'm and this is what i'm and it's
• 33:01
Speaker 2: just like we're so happy for each other. It's like
• 33:05
  Speaker 2: a family member that's that's found, you know, what they've
• 33:09
Speaker 2: been looking for, and it's it's great, it really is.
• 33:12
Speaker 1: Okay, what about the Okay, I have one more. I
• 33:16
Speaker 1: have another one more question. That's for our fans. What
• 33:19
Speaker 1: about the holidays. Are you guys going to be spending
• 33:22
Speaker 1: the holidays together? Like, what's your big plan?
• 33:26
Speaker 2: Well, as quiet as it's kept, and I'm going to
• 33:29
Speaker 2: keep it quiet, but we will be traveling someplace together
• 33:35
Speaker 2: for Thanksgiving and for the end of year after Christmas thing,
• 33:41
Speaker 2: you know, doing the family thing. But yeah, so stay close, Kelly,
• 33:45
Speaker 2: and I will I will keep you posting.
• 33:48
Speaker 1: Okay, Now, let's talk about a little bit about the
• 33:52
Speaker 1: Golden Bachelor. Do you think that mel will find love?
• 33:56
Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, that's a tough one. That's a tough one.
• 34:00
Speaker 2: I want him to, but I don't In my heart
• 34:04
  Speaker 2: of hearts?
• 34:06
Speaker 1: Is he not open? What is it? What's you know?
• 34:10
Speaker 2: It seems like he's very guarded, right, very It's just
• 34:13
Speaker 2: like he's very protected and very guarded and not being vulnerable.
• 34:19
Speaker 2: I haven't seen any vulnerability. But that's what makes you,
• 34:27
Speaker 2: you know, lean in as opposed to working at arm's length.
• 34:32
Speaker 2: And so, yeah, I haven't seen his vulnerabilities. And it's
• 34:36
Speaker 2: unfortunate because that's what love is about, being vulnerable, isn't it.
• 34:42
Speaker 1: Well I'm learning that, I mean literally just from being
• 34:45
  Speaker 1: on this pod.
• 34:47
Speaker 2: You have to be vulnerable.
• 34:49
Speaker 1: I have been learning that. I mean, you have to
• 34:51
Speaker 1: remember that I've spent my entire you know, thirties, you know,
• 34:57
Speaker 1: twenties and thirties and forties and fifties like on literally Lockdown,
• 35:02
Speaker 1: Protect Kelly, Protect her Kids, Provide mode, and so I
• 35:06
Speaker 1: was always in so much fear and just to be
• 35:09
Speaker 1: with someone who is just asks about me, wants to
• 35:13
Speaker 1: make sure that I'm safe, wants to make sure that
• 35:16
Speaker 1: I've eaten the things that I like. You just literally
• 35:19
Speaker 1: just asks about me, versus tells me about what they're doing.
• 35:23
Speaker 1: It's just a totally different narrative, and it's just made
• 35:26
Speaker 1: me he's making me a better person.
• 35:29
Speaker 2: Well, and would you say, or I should say, would
• 35:32
Speaker 2: you agree with me that to be vulnerable you have
• 35:36
Speaker 2: to feel safe. You have to feel safe to be vulnerable.
• 35:40
Speaker 2: And that's a big part of letting go and trusting
• 35:46
Speaker 2: and then knowing I'm in a safe place so I
• 35:51
  Speaker 2: can be vulnerable.
• 35:53
Speaker 1: I was always like, the shoe is going to drop,
• 35:55
Speaker 1: something's going to happen. There's going to be a girlfriend,
• 35:57
Speaker 1: there's going to be this, there's gonna be an X
• 35:59
Speaker 1: one that does something crazy, There's going to be something
• 36:02
Speaker 1: that's you know, someone's going to say something mean that's
• 36:04
Speaker 1: going to hurt my feelings. Like there's always going to
• 36:06
Speaker 1: be a shoe that drops. And you're right, feeling safe
• 36:09
Speaker 1: is a is a big, big news for me.
• 36:12
Speaker 2: Huge things And let me ask you, are those things
• 36:16
Speaker 2: important anymore? Or do they still matter? Because I would
• 36:21
Speaker 2: think where you are now, those are things that, yeah,
• 36:25
Speaker 2: it kind of really doesn't matter what it, you know,
• 36:29
