ONELEGUPALEX MEDIA AND PAGS PERSPECTIVE LOOK AT 2026 MLB PLAYOFF WATCH 8-11-26 · OneLegUpAlex Sports

• 0:01
Speaker 1: Here's your host, Alex Garrenn.
• 0:06
Speaker 2: All right, well it is August eleventh, and you know,
• 0:13
Speaker 2: side note, I just finished Jack Curry's book on the
• 0:16
Speaker 2: nineteen ninety eight Yankees, just a year and a half
• 0:18
Speaker 2: before we celebrate thirty years of their championship, and on
• 0:22
Speaker 2: the heels of this year's Old Timers Day, and Ryan,
• 0:23
Speaker 2: you were there with me. It felt to me like
• 0:26
Speaker 2: old times watching mo on the mound, seeing Bernie bat
• 0:30
Speaker 2: in the new Yankee Stadium. Never seen him do that, obviously,
• 0:32
Speaker 2: the old one saw him. Seeing Nick Swisher back in
• 0:35
Speaker 2: the batter's box two thousand and nine, MVP hedecuments he
• 0:39
Speaker 2: getting that double. I mean it was fun. And of
• 0:42
Speaker 2: course you saw standing in all that Mario Rover getting
• 0:45
  Speaker 2: a bat. I thought Old Timer's Day was a little
• 0:47
Speaker 2: bit of a different feeling. I don't know why, but
• 0:49
Speaker 2: like the game changed it for sure.
• 0:51
Speaker 1: No, it definitely does.
• 0:52
Speaker 3: And I know who was it going on the record about, okay, actually,
• 0:58
Speaker 3: because I know he was going on the rec or
• 1:00
Speaker 3: just the other day on his radio show about how
• 1:03
Speaker 3: Old Timer's Day wasn't a sellout and was just pure
• 1:06
Speaker 3: speculation about are the younger fans just not really into
• 1:10
Speaker 3: the nostalgia aspect of it. And look, maybe that could
• 1:14
Speaker 3: be the case, especially with the fact that it's almost
• 1:18
Speaker 3: twenty years since the last World Series.
• 1:19
  Speaker 1: For the Yankees.
• 1:20
Speaker 3: But you know that being said, I'm definitely not in
• 1:23
Speaker 3: that crowd because to see all those old guys back.
• 1:26
Speaker 2: It was to see as a kid at thirty five,
• 1:29
Speaker 2: I'm like, how are these guys old timers? I mean exactly,
• 1:31
Speaker 2: there are a lot of them still in the fifties,
• 1:33
Speaker 2: you know, old timers. I used to highlight the really
• 1:35
Speaker 2: older guys like Whitey, Moose, Scouring Bauer, Hank Bauer, Yogi,
• 1:40
Speaker 2: I mean, Rizzuto. All those guys were the old timers.
• 1:44
Speaker 2: So to me seeing a sixty year old or whatever
• 1:46
Speaker 2: old these guys are is very strange to call them
• 1:48
Speaker 2: old timers, just say.
• 1:49
Speaker 1: Oh, very much so.
• 1:50
Speaker 3: And look, I'll give them the credit too, because I
• 1:53
Speaker 3: mean you had the likes of you know, Roy White,
• 1:55
  Speaker 3: Mickey Rivers.
• 1:57
Speaker 2: Brian Doyle is one of the oldest.
• 1:58
Speaker 1: Brian Doyle as well. I mean they brought him out there.
• 2:00
Speaker 3: But no, it's just crazy though, how a lot of
• 2:03
Speaker 3: these guys are in like their late thirties, if not
• 2:07
  Speaker 3: early forties by.
• 2:08
Speaker 2: This Okay, Swisher is certainly young, that's for sure.
• 2:13
Speaker 3: So well even same with the likes of Todd Fraser.
• 2:15
Speaker 3: I mean, heck, you can have Adam Ontobino in comparison
• 2:18
Speaker 3: to a lot of the other compadres that suited up
• 2:20
Speaker 3: for the old timers game.
• 2:22
Speaker 2: That's very true. But anyway, I brought you one today
• 2:24
Speaker 2: because I made this observation about the standings and we're
• 2:28
Speaker 2: at August eleventh, and maybe more so, the Mets peaking
• 2:32
Speaker 2: right now after the trade headlines had intrigued me to
• 2:34
Speaker 2: see exactly where everybody stands. But Ryan, I'm looking at
• 2:37
Speaker 2: this in the AL wildcard situation at four games back
• 2:41
Speaker 2: of a third wild card, right is the is the
• 2:46
Speaker 2: maritor is that I'm thinking to myself, four games back,
• 2:50
Speaker 2: that's a competitive division, right, the division and league, I
• 2:53
Speaker 2: should say, right there? And then with the the n
• 2:55
Speaker 2: OL side at six and a half games the Reds,
• 2:58
  Speaker 2: I don't know. I feel like it's been a little
• 3:00
Speaker 2: while since we've seen this close competition. In August, I mean,
• 3:05
Speaker 2: this is very tight knit, and we saw some contenders
• 3:08
Speaker 2: trade away guys when they look like they should keep them, right,
• 3:11
Speaker 2: especially the Tigers. I mean, they get rid of schoobl
• 3:14
Speaker 2: and Mice. Yet they are, as we check right now.
• 3:17
Speaker 2: You know, a game and a half out of a
• 3:19
Speaker 2: playoff spot. This feels like unheard of when a contender
• 3:22
Speaker 2: is a seller. Where did that happen? Ryan?
• 3:25
Speaker 1: You know, baseball really is a funny sports sometimes.
• 3:28
Speaker 3: And you want proof, you just look at how the
• 3:30
Speaker 3: Tigers have been doing since the Casey Myes trade, since
• 3:33
Speaker 3: the school trade. Now, in fairness to the Tigers here
• 3:38
Speaker 3: and this could all be a mood point because Schooble,
• 3:41
Speaker 3: for all we know, he could very well re sign
• 3:43
Speaker 3: with the Tigers in the offseason.
• 3:45
Speaker 1: That part cannot be understated.
• 3:46
Speaker 3: That being said, they were very much at a point
• 3:49
Speaker 3: where they couldn't potentially risk losing a top two pitcher
• 3:53
Speaker 3: in the in the game probably one of, if not
• 3:57
Speaker 3: the best pictures that this franchise has ever seen. And
• 3:59
Speaker 3: I was in Newly gonna say probably the best, but
• 4:02
Speaker 3: you know that'd be disrespecting the likes of Justin Berlander,
• 4:04
Speaker 3: and That's not what I'm here to do. But you
• 4:08
Speaker 3: cannot risk trading away a top two pitcher in the
• 4:11
Speaker 3: game right now and get nothing back. The Tigers at
• 4:15
Speaker 3: that point were pretty much just in a mode where
• 4:17
Speaker 3: they just had to go get something anything. Yeah, So
• 4:21
Speaker 3: it's really tough to fault them, even though I think
• 4:25
Speaker 3: I could speak for all baseball fans when I say,
• 4:28
Speaker 3: why did he have to go to be in Dodger Blue?
• 4:30
Speaker 3: And i' I'm saying, since February, you know he's gonna
• 4:33
Speaker 3: look good at Dodger Blue eventually.
• 4:34
Speaker 2: And yet as many fears are like, oh, they're gonna
• 4:37
Speaker 2: be dumbant, he's lost his first two stars as a Dodger,
• 4:39
Speaker 2: He's come back down to earth, and for some reason,
• 4:42
Speaker 2: I know they're way under five hundred. I know it, Ryan,
• 4:45
Speaker 2: But I just look at the Mets doing better since
• 4:48
Speaker 2: the deadline as a sort of oncoming course correction, Like,
• 4:53
Speaker 2: of course the Mets will be doing better after the
• 4:55
Speaker 2: school would trade than nothing to do with them. But
• 4:57
Speaker 2: it's the way baseball seems to work, you.
• 4:59
Speaker 1: Know, because why the hell not at this point?
• 5:01
Speaker 2: And they are one loss since the deadline, which I
• 5:04
Speaker 2: find amazing. But they're not just winning, Ryan, they are
• 5:07
Speaker 2: beating competition. They beat the braave. Brett Baty had a
• 5:10
Speaker 2: Grand Slam last night, Yeah, getting well below two hundred
• 5:13
Speaker 2: I think in his last month.
• 5:15
Speaker 1: And then Doors had at least the heck did that
• 5:17
  Speaker 1: come from.
• 5:17
Speaker 2: Lindor's had at least two or three homers since the deadline.
• 5:21
Speaker 2: But it makes you wonder been.
• 5:22
Speaker 3: Looking like his top ten self again, contrary to what
• 5:25
Speaker 3: you saw in early April, and even after he came
• 5:28
Speaker 3: back from that two month long injury.
• 5:30
Speaker 2: And it makes you wonder who it was that that
• 5:31
Speaker 2: Mets traded that ease up that clubhouse or was it
• 5:34
Speaker 2: the fact that Peralta probably up that connection with Lindor
• 5:38
Speaker 2: and Soto as you were.
• 5:39
Speaker 3: Talking, and it probably wasn't him, just for that sole reason.
• 5:43
Speaker 3: And you know what, if this, for whatever reason, repairs
• 5:47
Speaker 3: the relationship from here and out between Lindor and Juan Soto,
• 5:51
Speaker 3: then you know what, for as much crap as Freddy
• 5:54
Speaker 3: Peralta has been getting this season being nicknamed, you know,
• 5:57
Speaker 3: five run Freddy or five inning Freddy, you can give
• 6:00
Speaker 3: him whatever nickname you want. And yes, he has disappointed
• 6:03
Speaker 3: in his time with the Mets, which was very unfortunate
• 6:06
Speaker 3: because I thought for sure that was the fool proof
• 6:08
Speaker 3: edition to the Mets that would surely succeed. Unfortunately, just
• 6:12
Speaker 3: hasn't panned out and hasn't really panned out in Tampa yet,
• 6:15
Speaker 3: but the jury's kind of still out on that. He
• 6:18
Speaker 3: could very well dominate down the stretch for the race,
• 6:20
Speaker 3: So who knows. But I would have to give Peralta
• 6:22
Speaker 3: his flowers if this leads to more success for the
• 6:27
Speaker 3: Mets down the line, because they need that relationship between
• 6:32
Speaker 3: their top two guys to be.
• 6:35
Speaker 1: Not at all rocket in order for them to succeed.
• 6:38
Speaker 3: And I think the fact that the both of them
• 6:40
Speaker 3: are really opening up to each other with the help
• 6:43
Speaker 3: of guys like Freddie Peralta, I think that has definitely
• 6:46
Speaker 3: helped with the chemistry quite a bit. And perhaps maybe
• 6:48
Speaker 3: you're seeing a little bit of that as far as
• 6:51
Speaker 3: the on field success goes right now. And heck, even
• 6:53
Speaker 3: if you want to talk about last night too, how
• 6:55
Speaker 3: about Code I Senga. A lot of people getting his
• 6:58
Speaker 3: first big league say, a guy that Mets fans had
• 7:01
Speaker 3: just completely written off, yeah, as a starting pitcher, even
• 7:06
Speaker 3: as a reliever. But now I think a lot of
• 7:09
Speaker 3: Mets fans have discovered that, you know, maybe this Code
• 7:13
Speaker 3: I singa guy that we were really starting to write
• 7:15
Speaker 3: off that looked completely cooked. Yeah, he might actually be
• 7:19
Speaker 3: at his best as a winning Then again, he's only
• 7:23
Speaker 3: made one save appearance. He only just got his first
• 7:25
Speaker 3: big league save less than twenty four hours ago, so
• 7:28
Speaker 3: the jury's still very much out. But I gotta see
• 7:31
Speaker 3: a little bit more consistency from code I before I
• 7:34
Speaker 3: actually can safely say that.
• 7:36
Speaker 2: Now they win the series tonight. I mean, we're not
• 7:39
Speaker 2: asking the Mets to sweep, but they beat the Braves
• 7:41
Speaker 2: two out of three, who all of a sudden now
• 7:44
Speaker 2: have lost. You know, we were there Saturday. They've all
• 7:46
Speaker 2: of a sudden lost the three out of the last
• 7:47
Speaker 2: four after winning eight in a row.
• 7:50
Speaker 3: But what's even crazy too, there's still seven to three
• 7:53
Speaker 3: in their last ten games. Yeah, so it's not even
• 7:55
Speaker 3: like they're completely falling flat on their face just yet.
• 7:59
Speaker 1: But look, it's a slippery slope.
• 8:01
Speaker 3: I mean, once you keep once you lose, start losing
• 8:04
Speaker 3: games and all that, you gotta at least get a
• 8:08
Speaker 3: win to right the ship. And that's what could happen
• 8:12
Speaker 3: to the Braids here if they're not that careful.
• 8:13
Speaker 2: And then on the other side, well you also have
• 8:16
Speaker 2: the Dodgers going seven game losing streak, which has been
• 8:20
Speaker 2: and they lost the season series of the Diamondbacks, which
• 8:22
Speaker 2: I thought was interesting, But no, the point about the
• 8:26
Speaker 2: Mets is, if they win the series, are you convinced
• 8:28
Speaker 2: or did you just say that off it? Like, are
• 8:30
Speaker 2: you actually convinced that something could happen here? If they
• 8:32
Speaker 2: have to win tonight?
• 8:33
Speaker 3: Well, I mean, as easy as it would be to
• 8:36
Speaker 3: say that, they still got a top five toughest schedule
• 8:39
Speaker 3: for the rest of the season, So I really, I
• 8:42
Speaker 3: gotta be honest, Alex, I really don't quite know about that.
• 8:46
Speaker 3: But hey, that being said, you know, they play the
• 8:48
Speaker 3: Nationals this weekend, then they start with the Padres and
• 8:51
Speaker 3: another actual competitive baseball team, So I just gotta see
• 8:57
Speaker 3: them keep winning the series before I rule avert some
• 9:02
Speaker 3: sort of verdict here. And this run is great, don't
• 9:05
Speaker 3: get me wrong, but again, it's such a small sample size, though.
• 9:10
Speaker 1: I need to see more.
• 9:12
Speaker 3: If they can at least get passed as far as
• 9:15
Speaker 3: the wildcard standings go the Reds and the Pirates, I'll
• 9:18
Speaker 3: be a little bit more convinced. But hey, if they
• 9:20
Speaker 3: could sweep the Nationals, who, by the way, the Mets
• 9:22
Speaker 3: and Washington only separated in the Wildcard by six games
• 9:26
Speaker 3: right now, If they can sweep the Nationals and you know,
• 9:30
Speaker 3: gain a little bit of ground on them, then maybe
• 9:33
Speaker 3: I'll be a little bit more convinced. But we're at
• 9:35
Speaker 3: a point in the year, Alex, where every single thing
• 9:39
Speaker 3: has to go right for them moving forward, and to
• 9:42
Speaker 3: their credit, it has so far. But we still got
• 9:47
Speaker 3: over a month and a half of games left to
• 9:48
  Speaker 3: be played.
• 9:49
Speaker 2: So I said, by August twenty eighth, they happen to
• 9:52
Speaker 2: be in contention, they have a good shot, and that'll
• 9:54
Speaker 2: be end of the month. It'll be Irish heritage tonight,
• 9:57
Speaker 2: as if you're on twenty eighth.
• 9:58
Speaker 3: Now to follow up on that though, Alex, so how
• 10:01
Speaker 3: many games back would you consider your range?
• 10:04
Speaker 1: If you will? For them to really be considered in it.
• 10:06
Speaker 2: Like five five rider, they have to be five or under.
• 10:09
Speaker 3: I think, okay, case you know what that was exactly
• 10:11
Speaker 3: along the same lines I was thinking of. If for
• 10:13
Speaker 3: some reason they're at the end of the month then
• 10:14
Speaker 3: they're five games out, then I'd be a little bit
• 10:17
Speaker 3: more convinced. So I see we're on the same page there,
• 10:19
  Speaker 3: all right.
• 10:20
Speaker 2: But my original point of these competitors, Am I right
• 10:23
Speaker 2: to say? This is one of the few years where
• 10:24
Speaker 2: or am I just noticing it more where these guys
• 10:27
Speaker 2: are stilling contention? I mean four games out of a
• 10:29
Speaker 2: third wild card on August eleventh. You know, for a
• 10:33
Speaker 2: team like the Mariners, I know, it's a bit of
• 10:35
Speaker 2: a Hilda climb, but it's impressive how competitive the AL
• 10:39
Speaker 2: has looked right now with a lot of teams jocking
• 10:41
Speaker 2: for that third spot and the National League. I'm gonna
• 10:45
Speaker 2: make this bold prediction and say a team with a
• 10:47
Speaker 2: losing record could make that third.
• 10:49
Speaker 3: Wild card spot, right And you know what, I don't
• 10:51
Speaker 3: think that has ever happened in the history of baseball before,
• 10:54
Speaker 3: where a team with an under five hundred record has
• 10:56
  Speaker 3: ever even made.
• 10:57
Speaker 1: It to the playoffs.
• 10:58
Speaker 3: The closest we had to that was a twenty four
• 11:00
Speaker 3: with the Texas Rangers. Granted it was the strike shortened season,
• 11:04
Speaker 3: but they were still somehow on top of the AL West,
• 11:08
Speaker 3: like ten games under five hundred or something like that.
• 11:11
Speaker 3: And I mean, even more recently, the Diamondbacks when they
• 11:14
Speaker 3: made the World Series, only won like eighty four games
• 11:16
Speaker 3: or something like that. I mean, they still finished over
• 11:18
Speaker 3: five hundred, but still it's probably as close as we
• 11:21
  Speaker 3: have gotten.
• 11:22
Speaker 2: And that team that made it as the World Series,
• 11:24
  Speaker 2: is it not?
• 11:25
Speaker 3: Yeah, losing in five of course to Marcus Semians Texas
• 11:29
Speaker 3: Rangers and all that. But and look, this may not
• 11:32
Speaker 3: happen in the National League as that field looks pretty stacked.
• 11:36
Speaker 3: As far as which teams are in wildcard contention that
• 11:39
Speaker 3: are currently above five hundred, I'm just looking at the
• 11:41
Speaker 3: American League wild card standing with alex the Rangers currently
• 11:44
Speaker 3: have in the last spot only a game above five hundred,
• 11:46
Speaker 3: and it's entirely possible we might see some team under
• 11:50
Speaker 3: five hundred actually crack the postseason dance.
• 11:55
Speaker 1: That would be and how wild would that be?
• 11:57
Speaker 2: It would be insane. And I tell you, I think
• 12:00
Speaker 2: the Reds have had a sub The Reds and Pirates
• 12:03
Speaker 2: actually have been having a disappointing year even than their
• 12:05
Speaker 2: contention because you have his Skeens on that team. The
• 12:08
Speaker 2: Pirates actually looked so so ready to like get to
• 12:12
Speaker 2: that next level with the limup they have to be.
• 12:14
Speaker 3: But the Pirates they even bought at the deadline, if yeah,
• 12:17
Speaker 3: and even then they've been three and seven.
• 12:19
Speaker 1: So that's been their last ten.
• 12:21
Speaker 2: But I say the Reds because they got swore they
• 12:24
  Speaker 2: at least.
• 12:24
Speaker 1: Made the playoffs. They at least added Juhano Suarez right.
• 12:28
Speaker 3: Coming off a great World Baseball Classic earlier in the spring.
• 12:32
Speaker 3: And it's also that playoff run with the Mariners too.
• 12:35
Speaker 3: You would think that, you know, his return to Cincinnati
• 12:37
Speaker 3: would have worked out thus far for both him and
• 12:40
Speaker 3: on the team level, but unfortunately just not the case.
• 12:43
Speaker 3: And it almost looks like they've taken a step back
• 12:46
Speaker 3: since they beat at the Mets for that last wildcard
• 12:49
Speaker 3: spot on the last.
• 12:50
Speaker 1: Day of the season. Yep, and what a day that
• 12:52
Speaker 1: was to be a Met fan. Let me tell you
• 12:54
Speaker 1: that was tough, all right.
• 12:56
Speaker 2: You know, I might go to the Cubs and Reds
• 12:57
Speaker 2: and that could be a playoff game implications in the
• 13:00
Speaker 2: year as well. The Braves Phillies serious from here on,
• 13:03
Speaker 2: I think those are playoff atmosphere games right there.
• 13:05
Speaker 1: See TV We'll have, I think.
• 13:08
Speaker 2: But I want to switch to the Bronx. We were
• 13:09
Speaker 2: there Saturday. We saw Coles a thousand strikeout as a
• 13:12
Speaker 2: Yankee and by the way, a former Met the next day,
• 13:15
Speaker 2: Max Sturzer passes Walter Johnson, which Roger Clemens did twenty
• 13:19
Speaker 2: five years ago. Keeping it all in the New York
• 13:21
Speaker 2: kind of loop the right family. But that was a pinch.
• 13:24
Speaker 2: That was a nice little pitching duel. But I thought
• 13:27
Speaker 2: it was great that the kids got to Chris Sale.
• 13:29
Speaker 2: That was a telling sign for where this team could
• 13:32
Speaker 2: go with Lombardo, Lombard and and Jones. I mean, first
• 13:37
Speaker 2: and second most innings. That's what you want everyone, Brian Cashman,
• 13:41
Speaker 2: you want to see your kids out on the base
• 13:42
  Speaker 2: pass like that.
• 13:42
Speaker 3: Yeah, and especially for Spencer Jones, you know you've been
• 13:45
Speaker 3: looking for that big moment for quite a while now
• 13:48
Speaker 3: to prove that, you know what, right field, this is
• 13:50
Speaker 3: my spot, this is my role, and I'm gonna.
• 13:53
Speaker 1: Keep this down the line.
• 13:55
Speaker 3: When these guys returned from injury, that was his moment
• 13:59
Speaker 3: right there, There was any moment for him to really
• 14:02
Speaker 3: make a stand improve because Sale absolutely and especially yeah,
• 14:07
Speaker 3: exactly against the future Hall of Famer potentially like Chris Sale.
• 14:10
Speaker 3: The fact that you see these kids just lighting him up,
• 14:14
Speaker 3: I mean that's a pretty telling side of where the
• 14:16
Speaker 3: future holds. And I know a lot of that also
• 14:18
Speaker 3: would do with, uh, the ball call on Chrisale that
• 14:22
Speaker 3: ultimately got well subjected.
• 14:24
Speaker 1: Yeah, and that for sure.
• 14:26
Speaker 2: And you know he got ejected on Sunday before the
• 14:28
  Speaker 2: game even started.
• 14:29
Speaker 1: That was interesting, too interesting, See, I had no idea
• 14:31
  Speaker 1: about that.
• 14:32
Speaker 2: Yeah, No, he got ejected before the game even started,
• 14:34
  Speaker 2: and of course.
• 14:34
Speaker 1: That's kind of a move point though, even though he
• 14:36
  Speaker 1: wasn't even pitching.
• 14:37
Speaker 2: But that Sunday game another one where you know, Schlittler
• 14:41
Speaker 2: gives him an all. He gives them there all and
• 14:42
Speaker 2: he should have twenty wins. But it's just he's in
• 14:45
Speaker 2: a rough spot right now with his with his offense.
• 14:48
Speaker 3: I mean, maybe with a healthy judge you get to
• 14:50
Speaker 3: twenty wins, I think so. But the Yankee offense, they're
• 14:53
Speaker 3: just doing what they can in the interim while their
• 14:55
Speaker 3: big names recover and all that, and they've been holding
• 14:58
Speaker 3: down the fort. And even look at Lombard, I mean, yep,
• 15:02
Speaker 3: there's actually legitimate talk that he's gonna de throw Volpi
• 15:05
Speaker 3: as the starting shortstop in twenty.
• 15:07
Speaker 1: Seven if they play games.
• 15:08
  Speaker 2: I think so.
• 15:08
Speaker 3: And the fact that this has happened this quick keep
• 15:12
Speaker 3: in mind, this is a kid that only made his
• 15:13
Speaker 3: debut a week ago.
• 15:14
Speaker 2: Today we go today, we were there, and we were
• 15:17
  Speaker 2: there for it.
• 15:17
Speaker 3: By the way, we've only been in the majors for
• 15:20
Speaker 3: a week and we're already having these conversations. You don't
• 15:23
Speaker 3: normally have those kinds of conversations for these types of
• 15:26
Speaker 3: big leaguers that have only been up for a week.
• 15:28
Speaker 2: I'm trying to pull up the rot the line because
• 15:30
Speaker 2: I see it is up now for the Yanks tonight,
• 15:33
Speaker 2: and of course the Mets playing as well a little
• 15:36
Speaker 2: bit later. But it is fun, and I gotta look
• 15:38
Speaker 2: at the managers right well, first I gotta look at
• 15:40
Speaker 2: the post headline. The three guys, Freed, Cole, and Schlittler.
• 15:44
Speaker 2: I mean, look, those are gonna be the guys. And
• 15:46
Speaker 2: as I told you Saturday, I really believe it because
• 15:48
Speaker 2: they've actually bring up Lombard. They've shored up the defense tremendously,
• 15:53
Speaker 2: Like it's not even funny. You got Garcia Junior is
• 15:56
Speaker 2: just a great first baseman. Now, first, you've got McMahon,
• 15:59
Speaker 2: who's perennial every year, great at third, and actually Jones
• 16:04
Speaker 2: and Wright made some good plays, so I'm not unconfident
• 16:07
Speaker 2: about the defense and defense in pitching. And you have
• 16:11
Speaker 2: a confident left fielder. I don't mean to shit throw
• 16:13
Speaker 2: shade it just Soomingez, but he did look lost out
• 16:15
Speaker 2: in the left field, and of course Belly we miss
• 16:18
Speaker 2: him and left. But Helio Ramos could be a good
• 16:21
Speaker 2: left fielder. There I digress. Pitching and defense gonna what's
• 16:25
Speaker 2: gonna get the team into October and beyond. It seems
• 16:28
Speaker 2: like that's the case right.
• 16:29
Speaker 1: Now, and that's what got him in October and the
• 16:31
  Speaker 1: Glory years too.
• 16:32
Speaker 3: I mean, all the talk then was about the clutch pitching,
• 16:35
Speaker 3: great defense, and even their clutch contact hitting.
• 16:38
Speaker 1: That was a very big talking point during the Dynasty
• 16:41
Speaker 1: years and even a little bit of O nine as well.
• 16:43
Speaker 3: You had some of that clutch pitching, clutch contact, So
• 16:47
Speaker 3: why not go back to what made you great? And
• 16:50
Speaker 3: to Cashman's credit, I feel like he is trying to
• 16:52
Speaker 3: do that. And you could say, however, you whatever you
• 16:54
Speaker 3: want with this underwhelming deadline and all that, But look,
• 16:58
Speaker 3: Garcia look like he's really panned out thus far. Homer
• 17:03
Speaker 3: his first game is a Yankee clutch homer at that,
• 17:05
Speaker 3: at least before the bullpen blew it. But that's that's
• 17:08
Speaker 3: another point for another day though, and Ramos looks to
• 17:12
Speaker 3: be holding down the Ford in the outfit of the
• 17:14
  Speaker 3: least ball.
• 17:15
Speaker 1: Judge and Stanton come back from.
• 17:18
Speaker 2: The r was running today, and I know Judge doing
• 17:21
  Speaker 2: baseball activities, But.
• 17:22
Speaker 3: Then it's a big question too of how that outfield
• 17:24
Speaker 3: is gonna look once everybody's healthy, especially with Spencer Jones
• 17:28
Speaker 3: really starting to come into his own these past couple
• 17:31
  Speaker 3: of games.
• 17:32
Speaker 1: I mean, what are you gonna do after that?
• 17:34
Speaker 3: You ride the hot hand or do you start Ramos
• 17:38
Speaker 3: and left even though he may not necessarily be the
• 17:43
Speaker 3: hottest hand that you have at your disposal.
• 17:45
Speaker 2: However, I read Jack Curry's book yesterday. I finished it off.
• 17:49
Speaker 2: I love taking pictures of the book in the quotes.
• 17:52
Speaker 2: I think they should post this one from Derek Jeter
• 17:53
Speaker 2: in the clubhouse right now, he wrote to He said
• 17:57
Speaker 2: to Jack Curry, were being patient. We're running the counts
• 18:03
Speaker 2: in our favor, and if you do that, you can
• 18:06
Speaker 2: take advantage of their mistakes. Running the count is what
• 18:10
Speaker 2: the Yankees need to do, and they can do that.
• 18:12
Speaker 2: They just have a little more patients at the plate
• 18:14
Speaker 2: and grind out at bets. They did that a little
• 18:16
Speaker 2: bit against Sale on Saturday, But I want to see
• 18:18
Speaker 2: that the rest of the year. I want to see
• 18:19
Speaker 2: them grind out every bet. It's what the Night Yet
• 18:21
Speaker 2: nineties Yankees were about.
• 18:24
Speaker 1: Yeah, it's what they were all about.
• 18:25
Speaker 3: Capitalizing on that and waiting for their opposing pictures to
• 18:29
Speaker 3: really make that one mistake that would ultimately cost them.
• 18:33
Speaker 3: It's something that they would really be thinking about the
• 18:35
Speaker 3: rest of the year. And you know it's time the
• 18:38
Speaker 3: Bombers got back to that. And to your point, Alex
• 18:42
Speaker 3: hanging out in the clubhouse right now, tattoo it on
• 18:45
  Speaker 3: Boone's forehead.
• 18:46
Speaker 1: I don't care what you do.
• 18:47
Speaker 3: Just make it visible, yeah, out there, because it's what
• 18:49
Speaker 3: these guys need to hear.
• 18:51
Speaker 2: Absolutely it is, and we'll have to see. All right, Well,
• 18:53
Speaker 2: it'll be a fun rest of the year. I really
• 18:55
Speaker 2: think it's gonna be a special run and I think
• 18:58
Speaker 2: the Mets have a really interesting chance of this. But
• 19:01
Speaker 2: more importantly, I like the competition. It's one of the
• 19:04
Speaker 2: years where I'm looking at this and saying, boy, a
• 19:06
Speaker 2: lot of teams are in this, and that's healthy for baseball,
• 19:10
Speaker 2: especially in an upcoming possible lock year. I understand now
• 19:14
Speaker 2: that the MLBPA is so far away from MLB on
• 19:18
Speaker 2: this with the cap and no cap, And as I
• 19:22
Speaker 2: said years ago, you need baseball in the summer. You
• 19:25
Speaker 2: need MLB in the summer.
• 19:29
Speaker 3: Because that apart from that, the PLLL and WNBA sports
• 19:32
Speaker 3: content in the summer.
• 19:33
Speaker 2: Is just Congress wants to intervene in this Bryce Harper video,
• 19:37
Speaker 2: I'm like, boy, maybe they can intervene in this whole
• 19:39
Speaker 2: union negotiation and make something happen. I don't know.
• 19:41
Speaker 3: I mean, look, the government did do that in ninety
• 19:43
Speaker 3: five with the last strike, and it was Sonya Sotomayer
• 19:46
Speaker 3: who signed the agreement I believe, to end the strike.
• 19:49
Speaker 3: But you have Clinton's administration getting involved in I And
• 19:54
Speaker 3: maybe it's a little too early to speculate this, but
• 19:56
Speaker 3: don't be surprised if you see the Trump.
• 19:58
Speaker 2: And Trump loves baseball.
• 20:01
Speaker 1: Just two years ago he was in the Yankee Clubhouse.
• 20:04
Speaker 2: Well did you see He was also asked about the
• 20:05
Speaker 2: trade deadline in the White House last week, So that
• 20:08
Speaker 2: was kind of interesting.
• 20:09
Speaker 1: Oh there you go.
• 20:09
Speaker 3: Yeah, being asked about it in the press releases. Yeah,
• 20:13
Speaker 3: all the press conferences. I should say about.
• 20:15
Speaker 2: Luisco Sea Junior coming to the air, Like what kind
• 20:18
Speaker 2: of world president would get asked?
• 20:20
Speaker 3: No, but you know, maybe Obama with the White Sox
• 20:23
  Speaker 3: everybody stretch.
• 20:25
Speaker 2: I know from personal experience up in this sue with
• 20:27
Speaker 2: Donald Trump, he loves baseball, and of course he wants
• 20:31
Speaker 2: the Yanks to do well. He always talks about George
• 20:32
Speaker 2: Seinberner all the time, So and that's the other news today,
• 20:36
Speaker 2: Apollo Investment or a Boallo Global Entertainment buying two point
• 20:40
Speaker 2: three billion I think I read from the Yankees of
• 20:43
Speaker 2: the Yankees, I mean, this cannot be the end of
• 20:46
Speaker 2: the Steinbrenner era, right.
• 20:47
Speaker 3: And it won't be the end of the Steinbrenner era.
• 20:49
Speaker 3: So yeah, but here you have Apollo pumping more money
• 20:53
  Speaker 3: into the team.
• 20:54
  Speaker 2: Now.
• 20:54
Speaker 1: A lot of it allegedly is to.
• 20:57
Speaker 3: Uh combat the debt that theis they're facing right now,
• 21:01
Speaker 3: to manage that a little bit more, short en up
• 21:04
  Speaker 3: a little bit.
• 21:05
Speaker 1: But this agreement is going to leave the stein Renders
• 21:08
Speaker 1: in charge of the team no matter what.
• 21:10
Speaker 3: So one thing is staying the same for certain, even
• 21:13
Speaker 3: with these new guys coming in and pumping more money
• 21:16
Speaker 3: into the whole Yankee operation.
• 21:18
Speaker 1: But stein Renders are still gonna run the team. And
• 21:22
  Speaker 1: that's far away.
• 21:23
Speaker 3: The most important takeaway I would say of this news
• 21:26
Speaker 3: that this isn't a sale. It's just more partners getting
• 21:31
Speaker 3: involved in the day to day operations something Yankees. And
• 21:34
Speaker 3: you know what, maybe if this means that they're able
• 21:37
Speaker 3: to spend a little bit more on these big names
• 21:39
Speaker 3: of the off season, I'm sure a lot of Yankee
• 21:41
Speaker 3: fans would be happy with that.
• 21:41
  Speaker 1: I'm sure you'd be thrown.
• 21:42
Speaker 2: I think they solve The Dodgers insaid, we need more
• 21:45
Speaker 2: people in here. Maybe that's what they looked at it
• 21:46
  Speaker 2: as well.
• 21:47
Speaker 3: So well, because they see what they're doing with their
• 21:49
Speaker 3: whole operation in LA, seeing how well that's worked out,
• 21:52
Speaker 3: for better or for worse for the.
• 21:55
Speaker 1: Game of baseball. But they might see.
• 21:58
Speaker 3: How much it has succeeded over there, and I think
• 22:01
Speaker 3: maybe now it's clicking and Howe's head that you know,
• 22:05
Speaker 3: let's try to become the East Coast Dodgers that the
• 22:07
Speaker 3: Mets never became, at least not.
• 22:09
Speaker 2: Yet, not yet. But I'll tell you the other thing
• 22:11
Speaker 2: about all this, right, so, they might be looking at
• 22:14
Speaker 2: this saying, oh boy, if the league agrees to know
• 22:17
Speaker 2: cap we need to spend more, that's might be what
• 22:19
Speaker 2: this could be a twenty twenty seven onward move right here,
• 22:22
  Speaker 2: So oh yeah.
• 22:24
Speaker 3: Very well could be twenty twenty seven and beyond. A
• 22:27
Speaker 3: lot of it, of course, depends on how the lockout
• 22:29
Speaker 3: is going to play. We have no idea how long
• 22:32
Speaker 3: this could be, if there even could be a lockout
• 22:34
Speaker 3: at all, But either way, everybody is just bracing and
• 22:39
Speaker 3: preparing for such a thing.
• 22:41
Speaker 2: We were in back to back weeks Alumni Day basically
• 22:44
Speaker 2: eighty six Mets Old Timers Day Yankees. Both stadiums were
• 22:48
Speaker 2: not as filled out, although I thought the Yanks were
• 22:50
Speaker 2: filled out a little more than sometimes they are on
• 22:53
  Speaker 2: Old Timer's Day. But like, I don't think it's I
• 22:56
Speaker 2: don't think it's not wanting to see history. I do
• 22:58
Speaker 2: think there's like this, well what have you done for
• 23:01
Speaker 2: me today? Kind of feeling on both sides here. I
• 23:05
Speaker 2: think there's this, Okay, we can honor the A six Mets.
• 23:07
Speaker 2: And I feel the same way about the Rangers. They
• 23:09
Speaker 2: show ninety four every game they get every change. You
• 23:12
Speaker 2: get to the garden and you see a ninety four highlight.
• 23:14
Speaker 2: That's cool, But we're waiting for something bored now. You know.
• 23:18
Speaker 2: Maybe it's the same with the Yankees and Mets fan bases,
• 23:20
Speaker 2: like show us all the highlights you want, what's happened
• 23:23
Speaker 2: since then? You know?
• 23:24
Speaker 1: Yeah, but you know these highlights are cool, don't get
• 23:27
  Speaker 1: me wrong.
• 23:28
Speaker 3: Just show me that highlight of the trophy being lifted up,
• 23:31
Speaker 3: preferably in a pretty recent year exact, and then we'll
• 23:34
Speaker 3: be fine, and look the Knicks.
• 23:36
Speaker 1: They got that done, of course a couple.
• 23:39
Speaker 2: How got I talk about that on my birthday? On
• 23:41
Speaker 2: my birthday, banter raising, So if you want to get
• 23:44
Speaker 2: me a gift, you know what to do.
• 23:46
Speaker 3: Batter raising night, Nick sixers and look, I hear the
• 23:49
Speaker 3: tickets right now are going for almost two grand. Then
• 23:53
Speaker 3: then again, I don't think the Knicks have released any
• 23:55
Speaker 3: tickets on Ticketmaster just yet. This is just the resell
• 23:57
Speaker 3: prices that I'm getting from tickpick as a big partner
• 24:01
Speaker 3: in your show as well.
• 24:02
Speaker 1: Yes, maybe those will go down, maybe they won't.
• 24:06
  Speaker 2: Ten dollars.
• 24:07
Speaker 3: They're just not a surplus of tickets out there yet, Bud, Yeah,
• 24:11
Speaker 3: I guess, get ready to spend, get the money ready
• 24:15
Speaker 3: to spend, and we'll go from there.
• 24:17
Speaker 2: We'll have to see, but it will be fun. Bantner
• 24:19
Speaker 2: raising out on my birthday. What a way to turn
• 24:21
Speaker 2: thirty five. If I get into the garden that night.
• 24:23
  Speaker 1: What you'll manifest.
• 24:25
Speaker 2: But ah, by the way, that made me excited even
• 24:27
Speaker 2: more so for the fall, because you got hardballs, giants,
• 24:30
Speaker 2: You've got turning thirty five. For me personally, you've got
• 24:33
Speaker 2: a Yankees team that still will make the playoffs and
• 24:36
Speaker 2: as we say every year, once you're in, you don't
• 24:39
Speaker 2: know what's gonna happen. And look, I was about this
• 24:41
Speaker 2: the other day. They haven't finished business. Business business, all right.
• 24:46
Speaker 2: So the J's are not in and they've completely crept
• 24:49
Speaker 2: the BET. I don't know what happened with them, But
• 24:52
Speaker 2: the Yanks still have unfinished business. They do because you
• 24:55
Speaker 2: don't want to have a year where you're out of
• 24:58
Speaker 2: the alds say about three or four games and then say, oh,
• 25:02
Speaker 2: well that's fine. You want to come back and be
• 25:04
Speaker 2: even better this year. Plank Cam was right. There is
• 25:08
Speaker 2: unfinished business in twenty twenty six.
• 25:10
Speaker 3: There absolutely is unfinished business in twenty six, and especially
• 25:13
Speaker 3: with how weak the rest of the AL is. And look,
• 25:17
Speaker 3: this is unlike a lot of other past Yankees postseasons
• 25:20
Speaker 3: where they've just fizzled out before the World Series, with
• 25:24
Speaker 3: the exception of twenty four, of course. But if there
• 25:26
Speaker 3: is any year for them to actually capitalize on a
• 25:29
Speaker 3: week al go toe to toe with the Dodgers wherever
• 25:32
Speaker 3: they're gonna be facing in the NL, nobody knows yet.
• 25:35
Speaker 3: This is the year, and you gotta get it done now.
• 25:39
Speaker 3: And hell, I think you'll have a lot of baseball
• 25:41
Speaker 3: on your side, which is crazy, I know, but if
• 25:45
Speaker 3: they could somehow take down the Dodgers, who have been
• 25:47
Speaker 3: falling a little bit, They've been falling down to earth
• 25:49
Speaker 3: like every other team that has ever played organized baseball.
• 25:53
Speaker 1: If they could get.
• 25:53
Speaker 3: Past them, then maybe you'll have a lot of baseball
• 25:58
Speaker 3: fans on the Yankees.
• 25:59
Speaker 2: Side for the Rose to beat up on it.
• 26:01
Speaker 3: And how good would that be, even if there is
• 26:03
Speaker 3: a lockout, How poetic would it be, the original evil
• 26:08
  Speaker 3: taking down.
• 26:09
Speaker 1: The quote unquote new and improved evil.
• 26:12
Speaker 2: What did I say? I said on the trade deadline,
• 26:13
Speaker 2: e wheneverbody's freaking out about school will go to the dot.
• 26:15
Speaker 2: I said, look, stop them about twenty twenty seven. There's
• 26:19
Speaker 2: a penance win now, there's a championship to win now,
• 26:22
Speaker 2: and that has to be the mindset is the over
• 26:26
Speaker 2: the lockouts looming and whatever.
• 26:28
Speaker 1: But no one have to go full send on twenty
• 26:30
  Speaker 1: six exactly.
• 26:31
Speaker 2: That's what it is. You cannot worry about what's gonna
• 26:34
Speaker 2: happen next year because now I still am hopeful that
• 26:38
Speaker 2: uh if Judge and and and Stanton come back healthy.
• 26:41
Speaker 2: Although I still think Bellinger's the glue to all this.
• 26:44
Speaker 2: The Yanks are and for good rest of the summer,
• 26:46
Speaker 2: and uh, I'm calling it. Let's have a monumental summer
• 26:49
Speaker 2: the rest of the way. Let's freaking do it. The
• 26:52
Speaker 2: Yankees and the Yorkers deserve that, you know, they deserve
• 26:57
Speaker 2: that kind of excitement. I want to see another heroes
• 27:00
Speaker 2: a parade. And if it's the Mets, hey that would
• 27:03
  Speaker 2: be something unbelievable.
• 27:04
Speaker 1: Hey I want to be too mad at that either.
• 27:06
Speaker 3: But hey, even if it's the Yankees, I will be
• 27:09
Speaker 3: more than content with that.
• 27:10
Speaker 1: I think the Mets, I'm just yearning for another parade.
• 27:13
Speaker 2: If the Mets get over five hundred, that'll be the
• 27:15
Speaker 2: win for them. That'll be an unbelievable achievement, just.
• 27:17
Speaker 1: To regardless of whether or not they make the postseason
• 27:20
  Speaker 1: or not.
• 27:20
Speaker 3: Even if they finish above five hundred, I mean, that's
• 27:23
Speaker 3: still a lot more the Mets fans did bargain for
• 27:26
Speaker 3: in the first half of the year, and I think
• 27:27
Speaker 3: that's something you could definitely be proud of. But then
• 27:29
Speaker 3: also for the Mets, if you play games in twenty seven,
• 27:33
Speaker 3: that's definitely something you could build upon. Absolutely, if you
• 27:36
Speaker 3: have the young core set in place, you still have
• 27:39
Speaker 3: lindor you still have Soto. You just need to reinforce
• 27:42
Speaker 3: that with concrete, unlike the paper mache that they reinforced
• 27:46
Speaker 3: that corps with in the offseason, and then maybe you're
• 27:48
Speaker 3: good to go from there.
• 27:49
Speaker 2: Absolutely, And then look they they had they have the
• 27:54
Speaker 2: talent right there with ewing and and benj And I
• 27:57
Speaker 2: always say I wish there's other two.
• 27:59
Speaker 3: Staid, Uh, Yeah, that would have been pretty cool to
• 28:04
Speaker 3: kind of see that sort of transitional period if you
• 28:07
Speaker 3: will work. Yeah, you still have Nemo, who's completely reinvented
• 28:11
Speaker 3: his hitting by the way, to focus a little bit
• 28:14
Speaker 3: less on power more on contact. It's worked pretty well
• 28:16
Speaker 3: in his favor with the Rangers. Even Alonso, Yeah, his
• 28:19
Speaker 3: stats may have slipped a little bit, but he's still
• 28:22
Speaker 3: at the top of his game. He's still a top
• 28:24
Speaker 3: ten first basement in baseball. That can't be denied no
• 28:27
  Speaker 3: matter what.
• 28:28
  Speaker 1: How cool would.
• 28:28
Speaker 3: It have been, though, to see those two homegrown stars
• 28:32
Speaker 3: still holding down the ford. Well, you're also starting to
• 28:34
Speaker 3: work in promising young rookies like benj And that's.
• 28:38
Speaker 2: Almost what should do. Well, you know, that's what a
• 28:41
Speaker 2: GM should do, But that's not right, I guess. So
• 28:45
Speaker 2: all right, Ryan, this has been a great catch up
• 28:47
Speaker 2: before I jump back on the radio and uh, maybe
• 28:50
Speaker 2: talk about this a bit with Arthur. I don't know. Yeah,
• 28:52
Speaker 2: we'll have to see where his head's at today at
• 28:54
Speaker 2: six oh five. But for now, I'm Alex here, Ryan
• 28:57
Speaker 2: Pigano package perspective, do not. I know it's the dull
• 29:02
Speaker 2: day dog days of summer and people don't really Let's
• 29:07
Speaker 2: just say the core fans are interested right now. I
• 29:10
Speaker 2: think the other fans get into in September when school's
• 29:13
Speaker 2: back and all that other stuff. But but jump on
• 29:15
Speaker 2: it now, check it out now, because I'll tell you
• 29:18
Speaker 2: it is competitive as hell. And by the.
• 29:20
Speaker 1: Way, don't take it for grantedy these are playoff.
• 29:23
Speaker 2: Games, Mariners versus the Yankees, right now, that's a playoff.
• 29:31
Speaker 2: Said that better they're throwing Brian you and we all
• 29:33
Speaker 2: know you was Brian Woo who was a big factor
• 29:37
Speaker 2: in that Mariners team. So you know, I think the
• 29:40
Speaker 2: Yank's got to make a statement tonight and if they
• 29:42
Speaker 2: can keep winning series, we'll see what happened.
• 29:45
Speaker 3: So yeah, you know, baseball is a pretty funny gang.
• 29:48
Speaker 3: You never really know where exactly you're gonna go with. Now,
• 29:52
Speaker 3: if you if the Yankees win this series. I mean,
• 29:55
Speaker 3: that's still a lot more to build upon, Alex. If
• 29:57
Speaker 3: you're a Yankee, you can ride this all the way
• 29:59
  Speaker 3: in October.
• 30:00
Speaker 2: If you're a Yankee fan, which I think some of you,
• 30:01
Speaker 2: A part of you is a Yankee fan, a small
• 30:03
Speaker 2: party anyway, Oh for sure is a Yankee fan. And
• 30:06
Speaker 2: I'm like, small part Mets, big part Yankees. But I'm
• 30:10
Speaker 2: so torn. It's like, do we look for the division
• 30:13
Speaker 2: still or do we just try and get the Like
• 30:15
Speaker 2: it is like that weird middle ground right now, because
• 30:17
Speaker 2: you don't want the Red Sox to catch up with
• 30:19
Speaker 2: you either, but you want to aspire to take down
• 30:22
Speaker 2: the Rays, right, I mean you want to aspire to
• 30:24
  Speaker 2: do that.
• 30:24
Speaker 3: So oh surely, especially a raised team that had some
• 30:27
Speaker 3: pretty damn good additions at the deadline as well, Why
• 30:29
Speaker 3: wouldn't you want to try to go at them, because
• 30:32
Speaker 3: I mean, that's really your only other obstacle in this
• 30:34
Speaker 3: al it's just Tampa Bay. But even then, even if
• 30:37
Speaker 3: they were to just sneak in as a wildcard team,
• 30:40
Speaker 3: I still have the utmost confidence and then to just
• 30:42
Speaker 3: get they might be done done and.
• 30:44
Speaker 2: They might be one of the best wildcard teams. We've
• 30:48
Speaker 2: seen in a while. And I'm saying that because I
• 30:51
Speaker 2: mean the di'mbacks in twenty twenty three. Sure, but I
• 30:53
Speaker 2: mean the Yanks would come in with a record that
• 30:57
Speaker 2: is probably better than most wildcard teams go in with, right.
• 31:00
  Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean it's it's like you're back in say
• 31:02
Speaker 3: two thousand and one, with how the AL wild Card
• 31:05
Speaker 3: shaped out then because you had like two one hundred
• 31:08
Speaker 3: win teams in the AL West make it to the playoffs.
• 31:12
Speaker 3: I mean the Mariners with one hundred and sixteen wins.
• 31:13
Speaker 3: But then the A's I believe they also won like
• 31:15
Speaker 3: one hundred games or something like that, and they cracked.
• 31:17
Speaker 1: The playoff picture too.
• 31:18
Speaker 3: Yeah, it's just funny how the format of the game works.
• 31:22
Speaker 2: And I'll never get be in there up in the
• 31:23
Speaker 2: booth with Joe Buck and Tim McCarver as Giambi smashed
• 31:27
Speaker 2: that homer off the facade at Yankee Stadium. That was
• 31:31
Speaker 2: quite a homer. But yeah, both teams were solid. The
• 31:34
Speaker 2: A's could have won that series if it wasn't for
• 31:36
Speaker 2: the flip game by Jeter. Right, So it's been a
• 31:39
Speaker 2: that was a wild year. So yeah, I just think
• 31:41
Speaker 2: this could be one of the better wild card teams
• 31:44
Speaker 2: to get in and uh maybe go too and zero
• 31:47
Speaker 2: in the first round and then go from there. So
• 31:50
Speaker 2: they just got to look at this unfinished business and
• 31:52
Speaker 2: grinding down the pictures. That's what they have to do
• 31:54
Speaker 2: every night out from now on.
• 31:55
Speaker 1: I just stay patient at the play too.
• 31:56
  Speaker 3: Mm hm.
• 31:57
Speaker 2: Just do all three of those things, and Ben Rice
• 32:00
Speaker 2: can break out like I thought I saw him over
• 32:03
Speaker 2: the weekend, do a little bit. I'll be very very
• 32:06
Speaker 2: excited because a hot Ben Rice meshes in that lineup
• 32:09
Speaker 2: and leads that lineup better than anyone right now. So
• 32:14
Speaker 2: they need his bat in a harp.
• 32:17
Speaker 1: So we'll see what happens, especially as Judge continues to recover.
• 32:19
Speaker 3: They're relying a hell of a lot more on Ben Rice.
• 32:22
Speaker 3: And look at Ben Rice continues to mash. Then all
• 32:25
Speaker 3: will be we yell well in Yankee Land.
• 32:27
Speaker 2: Though denying that, all right, well, look at atlex Media
• 32:30
Speaker 2: and Pag's perspective breaking it down for you. As I know,
• 32:33
Speaker 2: it's a random August Tuesday in August August eleventh, but
• 32:37
Speaker 2: I'm looking at the playoff picture and a brand new
• 32:39
Speaker 2: set of series starts tonight. Now's the time to glue
• 32:44
Speaker 2: into the TV right now, because you've got some fundraiss
• 32:47
Speaker 2: to watch in Major League Baseball, and god forbid, it's
• 32:51
Speaker 2: not gonna be here next year. Take advantage, watch it,
• 32:54
Speaker 2: enjoy it, embrace it now. As Ryan said full send
• 32:59
Speaker 2: on twenty twenty six, starts right now here are one
• 33:01
  Speaker 2: like alex Media
