- 0:49SPEAKER_01: I mean, like, is this like, are you in awe of all this?
- 0:52SPEAKER_00: Like, I am.
- 0:53SPEAKER_00: I feel like we're having a resurgence of that like 90s powerhouse women that we saw, you know, like the Trisha Earwoods and Martinez and Jody Messina and all those incredible Shania Twain.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: I feel like we're having kind of a resurgence.
- 1:05SPEAKER_01: We talked about Shania Twain all day today.
- 1:08SPEAKER_01: Like literally everybody's brought up Shania Twain.
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: That's crazy.
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: That's amazing.
- 1:11SPEAKER_01: So how's your year been?
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: It's been good.

- 1:34SPEAKER_00: I'm from Texas.

- 1:41SPEAKER_01: You have a you have a Texas country feel and your music.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: I love Texas.
- 1:47SPEAKER_01: I love Texas too.
- 1:48SPEAKER_01: I think every every girl thing comes out of Texas.
- 1:51SPEAKER_01: So are you releasing new music?
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: Yeah, um, we've got all kinds of new stuff coming out coming down the line this year.
- 1:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, are you touring this summer?
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we just announced the damn good day tour, which is gonna be uh mostly like in the Midwest and out on the West Coast, which we've not did a lot of shows out there before, so I'm really excited to meet some rider dies out there.
- 2:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, absolutely.
- 2:12SPEAKER_01: We just start connecting all the way to that and your books for the whole summer.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's gonna be crazy.
- 2:17SPEAKER_01: Welcome to touring season.
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: I'm ready for it, honestly.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: I get so bored when I'm at home.
- 2:21SPEAKER_01: Can I tell you it was a winter too?
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: Like it was a wintery wintery wintery.
- 2:27SPEAKER_01: It was the first um winter I've spent in Philadelphia in a long time.
- 2:30SPEAKER_01: And you know what I decided?
- 2:31SPEAKER_01: I hate snow.
- 2:32SPEAKER_01: Oh I hate darkness, I hate cold, I hate people with attitudes in the middle of the afternoon for just no damn freaking reason.
- 2:38SPEAKER_01: And I was like, I literally am like, I'm not meant to be I'm meant to be in the southern states, and I'm not meant to be where it's dark.
- 2:44SPEAKER_01: No at four o'clock.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: And there's no wonder people are so mad all the time.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 2:48SPEAKER_01: It's so true.
- 2:49SPEAKER_01: People like hear everybody they said they're like, where are you from?
- 2:51SPEAKER_01: I'm in Philadelphia.
- 2:52SPEAKER_01: They're like, Why?
- 2:54SPEAKER_01: On purpose?
- 2:54SPEAKER_01: It's like saying you're from Kuwait.
- 2:56SPEAKER_01: They're like, Did you like is that or somebody forcing you to be there?
- 2:59SPEAKER_01: I know, it's so crazy.
- 3:00SPEAKER_01: It was a winter winter.
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: I just I'm so glad the days are getting longer now.
- 3:05SPEAKER_01: Come with horse rain.
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: Amen.
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: How's your family?
- 3:08SPEAKER_00: They're great.
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: My mom's good.
- 3:10SPEAKER_00: She uh comes to all the shows she can.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: I know we talked about your mom last year.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: And then my husband is my tour manager now.
- 3:16SPEAKER_00: So beautiful.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: He's out on the road with me.
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: I love having him out with me.
- 3:19SPEAKER_01: I'm sure you do, because it's a lonely, you know, it can be very lonely.
- 3:23SPEAKER_01: I don't think people understand the amount of work that goes in.
- 3:27SPEAKER_01: You know, but I also, on the other hand, think like people buy your merch, they buy your tickets, they save, they take money from something else to see your shows.
- 3:36SPEAKER_00: Which I'm always thankful for.
- 3:37SPEAKER_01: I was gonna say that's gotta be pretty humbling.
- 3:39SPEAKER_00: You know, every day we always try to give it a thousand percent because these people came here to see a show, and we're gonna give them a good show, give them what they paid for.
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: How important are your fans to you?
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: Oh they're incredible.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: Uh the ride or dies show up everywhere, all the time, so many of them, and they all make friends with each other, and now they travel to the shows together, and it's just such it really is like a big community, and I can look in the audience and name everyone for the first couple rows, usually.
- 4:09SPEAKER_01: That's so beautiful.
- 4:10SPEAKER_01: Like that's how you know you've truly like made it.
- 4:13SPEAKER_01: When you have a fan base that is willing to sacrifice their time and their energy and their money and everything else.
- 4:19SPEAKER_00: I do a meet and greet after every show too.
- 4:21SPEAKER_00: And I always meet everyone.
- 4:23SPEAKER_00: We take pictures, and I'm at the merch table, and you know, God bless you.
- 4:27SPEAKER_01: That's what country music should be.
- 4:29SPEAKER_01: You know, I I it's so amazing to me, you know, when you're on this side and I know how hard you guys work.
- 4:35SPEAKER_01: Like I know like people are always like, I'm like, they're not, they're the hardest working people.
- 4:40SPEAKER_01: I mean, you are the hardest working.
- 4:41SPEAKER_01: It is a hard job.
- 4:42SPEAKER_01: Oh, it's a hard work.
- 4:43SPEAKER_00: It seems very glamorous and fun, but there's a lot of the traveling, just the prep, and you know, I gotta be looking decent all the time.
- 4:50SPEAKER_01: And you know, it's yeah, and even like just in regular life, you know, like you can't be like in Target looking like, you know, because you don't know.
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: Well, I do, but I know, I do too.
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: No, I didn't know.
- 5:00SPEAKER_01: I just put a hat on and call it a lot of it.
- 5:04SPEAKER_01: I know that's great.
- 5:06SPEAKER_01: Did you write new music since last time I've seen you?
- 5:08SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah, we've got uh I've probably gonna put out a full project by the end of the year of stuff that I've written.
- 5:14SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 5:15SPEAKER_01: A whole album or so much.
- 5:17SPEAKER_01: That's amazing.
- 5:18SPEAKER_01: That's great.
- 5:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we got a lot of stuff are actually already recorded, ready to go, so we're just uh about to start, we're about to start dropping some stuff.
- 5:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's great.
- 5:26SPEAKER_01: Do you drop before dates?
- 5:27SPEAKER_01: Like how do you do it?
- 5:28SPEAKER_01: I know that some artists drop every six weeks.
- 5:32SPEAKER_00: Well, because this song is going to radio, um, we're gonna wait a while to drop the next one.
- 5:37SPEAKER_00: Not too long.
- 5:39SPEAKER_00: Probably like, I don't know, a couple months.
- 5:41SPEAKER_00: But uh we're just waiting to see what this one does.
- 5:43SPEAKER_00: Hopefully it's gonna skyrocket on its first.
- 5:47SPEAKER_01: Hopefully.
- 5:47SPEAKER_01: It's gonna skyrocket.
- 5:49SPEAKER_01: Who would you love to collab with?
- 5:52SPEAKER_00: My answer is always the same.
- 5:53SPEAKER_00: Hank Jr.
- 5:54SPEAKER_00: Hank Jr.
- 5:55SPEAKER_00: I'm such a Hank Jr.
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: fan.
- 5:57SPEAKER_00: Um a tour doesn't have to be a remote.
- 5:59SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 6:00SPEAKER_00: That's my final answer.
- 6:01SPEAKER_00: That's amazing.
- 6:02SPEAKER_01: And then like this, I try to explain to people that like watch the show and ever I'm like, you don't understand there's no plan B for these people.
- 6:09SPEAKER_01: No, like that's it.
- 6:10SPEAKER_01: Their heart, their soul, and everything is in country music.
- 6:13SPEAKER_01: And it's a gift for us to be, you know, to have be blessed with the talent.
- 6:17SPEAKER_01: But I think like what has changed over the last year in that since the last time I saw you, like, what has changed that has made you like even more powerful, the singer?
- 6:28SPEAKER_01: Because your voice is incredible.
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 6:30SPEAKER_00: Um, honestly, it's just a lot of playing shows, you know.
- 6:34SPEAKER_00: It's it's a workout, it's a good idea.
- 6:35SPEAKER_00: I can tell you love your fans, you gotta keep your audience, you know, your voice in check, and you know, and then I signed my first record deal last year, so that's been a massive help to everything.
- 6:46SPEAKER_00: So yeah, it's it's been really good.
- 6:48SPEAKER_01: That's what you wait for, right?
- 6:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you wait, and I don't think people understand the amount of money it costs even to produce a record and run idea.
- 6:55SPEAKER_01: Which label are you with?
- 6:56SPEAKER_01: I'm with Red Street Records.
- 6:57SPEAKER_01: Awesome.
- 6:58SPEAKER_01: Congratulations, I'm so happy for you.
- 7:00SPEAKER_01: I love them.
- 7:01SPEAKER_01: I'm sure.
- 7:02SPEAKER_01: I'm sure.
- 7:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean it is, it's such a cool thing to see, like, and that's what artists wait for.
- 7:07SPEAKER_01: They wait for that break, you know, and you must be like so honored.
- 7:11SPEAKER_00: I am, but you know, it's like the work doesn't just end there, like everyone thinks, oh, you've got you got a record deal, like it, you're you're good, and it's like, no, I have to work even harder now, you know.
- 7:21SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 7:21SPEAKER_01: I mean, there's always somebody on your heels, always gotta have the newest, and you know, gotta keep creating, gotta keep just every day.
- 7:28SPEAKER_00: Every day.
- 7:29SPEAKER_01: Well, it's in your DNA, so yeah, it's crazy.
- 7:32SPEAKER_01: So, where's your favorite place to play?
- 7:35SPEAKER_00: I always love going back home to Kentucky.
- 7:38SPEAKER_00: I always love going back home.
- 7:40SPEAKER_01: You do huge fan base at home?
- 7:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 7:43SPEAKER_00: I stage dived last time I was in Kentucky, so you did?
- 7:47SPEAKER_00: I just jumped right off.
- 7:48SPEAKER_01: Is that on social media?
- 7:48SPEAKER_01: Because I don't think I ever saw that.
- 7:50SPEAKER_01: It's on there.
- 7:50SPEAKER_01: It's often go back and look.
- 7:52SPEAKER_01: That's so fantastic.
- 7:53SPEAKER_01: What's it like having your husband with you?
- 7:55SPEAKER_01: Ooh.
- 7:56SPEAKER_01: Hello.
- 7:59SPEAKER_00: Um, no, it's great.
- 8:04SPEAKER_00: I love having him out on the road.
- 8:05SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he's such a help and he he knows the ins and outs of everything, so I can always go to him, you know.
- 8:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah, because it's lovely choring.
- 8:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it it really is.
- 8:13SPEAKER_00: You know, you're with people, but then when you get back to the hotel, it's just, you know, it's just you.
- 8:17SPEAKER_01: It's your time.
- 8:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's totally your time.
- 8:20SPEAKER_01: That's awesome.
- 8:20SPEAKER_01: Where are you where are you playing this summer?
- 8:23SPEAKER_00: Uh we're gonna be all over like Texas, um California, Michigan.
- 8:30SPEAKER_00: Are you guys on the bus?
- 8:32SPEAKER_00: Colorado, I I wish.
- 8:33SPEAKER_00: I want a tour bus.
- 8:34SPEAKER_01: I want a tour bus.
- 8:36SPEAKER_01: I'll let you borrow it.
- 8:37SPEAKER_01: You get I'll get a bougie one.
- 8:39SPEAKER_01: Okay, perfect.
- 8:39SPEAKER_01: You can ride around with me if you want to.
- 8:41SPEAKER_01: I would love that.
- 8:42SPEAKER_01: That'd be fun.
- 8:42SPEAKER_01: Bring my dog.
- 8:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 8:44SPEAKER_01: Oh, I love dogs.
- 8:45SPEAKER_01: Oh, me too.
- 8:46SPEAKER_01: I guess you can't have a dog if you're on the road all the time.
- 8:48SPEAKER_01: I really wish we could.
- 8:49SPEAKER_01: You would love Lola though.
- 8:50SPEAKER_01: Lola Rocks.
- 8:51SPEAKER_01: I love I've never met a dog I didn't love.
- 8:52SPEAKER_01: I know, me too.
- 8:53SPEAKER_01: I'm I love kids and I love dogs, and I think that that's like the greatest thing in the entire world.
- 8:59SPEAKER_01: You know, are you giving me the wrap-ups?
- 9:01SPEAKER_01: Oh, oh my god, Taylor.
- 9:03SPEAKER_01: I'm so sorry.
- 9:03SPEAKER_01: Like, I just get to see her.
- 9:04SPEAKER_01: Look how pretty she looks today.
- 9:07SPEAKER_01: All right, yeah, when you come back, I'll come back for you anytime.
- 9:10SPEAKER_01: It was so amazing to see you.
- 9:12SPEAKER_01: And I follow your crowd.
- 9:14SPEAKER_01: I hope you're like noticing, like, we follow you all the time.
- 9:16SPEAKER_01: I appreciate that.
- 9:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah, this table.
- 9:18SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 9:19SPEAKER_01: I swear to God, I'm one glass of wine from flipping this bitch.
- 9:22SPEAKER_01: Like, I'll be like a real housewife moment, like, woof.
- 9:26SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 9:26SPEAKER_01: I swear first of all, we got here this morning in this booth, and last year we were like right out front, which was like so much easier, right?
- 9:33SPEAKER_01: And they're probably like like put Susie Chalk's lot in the back somewhere.
- 9:36SPEAKER_01: And it was so we didn't have any power.
- 9:38SPEAKER_01: So I go up and I'm like, we don't have any power.
- 9:40SPEAKER_01: They're like, You don't have any power?
- 9:42SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, I'm from Philly.
- 9:43SPEAKER_01: I'm like, we don't have any power with like banana cakes, right?
- 9:47SPEAKER_01: It was like a not a proud moment, and I have to make them proud, right?
- 9:50SPEAKER_01: Because they're like, I don't, like, I don't want to rep that chick.
- 9:53SPEAKER_01: But it's so it was so crazy.
- 9:54SPEAKER_01: You know how this day goes.
- 9:55SPEAKER_01: It yes, and then you know what, we gotta do it all over again tomorrow, the next day.
- 10:00SPEAKER_01: Are you rapping at five?
- 10:01SPEAKER_01: We're rapping at five, but we got two more days to go.
- 10:04SPEAKER_01: I love the jacket.
- 10:04SPEAKER_01: You look amazing.
- 10:06SPEAKER_01: She was one of my faves from last year.
- 10:08SPEAKER_01: Like, she came in like a boss.
- 10:10SPEAKER_00: Purple hat.
- 10:11SPEAKER_01: Like, I remember, right?
- 10:12SPEAKER_01: I remember her sitting down, I was like, girl, you're there's for all the freaking hardworking women in the world.
- 10:18SPEAKER_01: You did it.
- 10:19SPEAKER_01: I'm really proud of you.
- 10:20SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
