- 4:01eight July twenty eighth this year twenty twenty three, seventy eight. Hey,

- 4:20triple Gma great great grandmother, and my name is Gloria great grandmother. So
- 4:26you know, I have very creative grandchildren. So that's me. That's me.
- 4:30And I have a barbecue sauce that's coming out very soon and it's called
- 4:33what is it called. It is called three G's Original Barbecue Sauce made with
- 4:39real bourbon, yes, so you know, And and that will be on
- 4:45there and red across it and read and I don't want anyone just just dranking
- 4:51it. It's not gonna It's not me that much hid it, but it's
- 4:55just but that's a disclaimer, so that that's part it and us. I'm
- 5:01I have degrees in psychology and sociology with miners in English. I'm an ordained
- 5:09minister, been ordained for a lot of years. I love people. I
- 5:14love just helping and that's one of the reasons that I started doing what I'm
- 5:18doing. And I've been on OPRAH. I've been on TVN. I've I'm
- 5:27an avid studier music including jazz and gospel. I played the piano and the
- 5:34organ. I did it um studied eight years there And I just love life,
- 5:41period, I do. I love it. Yes, in a nutshell,
- 5:46your energy is like crazy. I love it. I love it.
- 5:51I love it. I love it. I love it. So you know
- 5:55I can't go any further without talking about this title. Please, I've never
- 6:02heard of a title like this, like what Please tell me where you got
- 6:06it from? Well, let me let me give you the entitled entire title,
- 6:12because that is the headline that the headline title, okay, And the
- 6:16headline title is the girl get a grip, stop chasing the guarastruck? And
- 6:21then the underpinning of that, are you deaf, dumb, blind or just
- 6:26playing stupid? So would that being said say that again? Which which bart?
- 6:39Are you deaf, dumb, blind or just playing stupid? You just
- 6:42said it? Okay, Okay? Now now you now you have to tell
- 6:46me what brought this? So what did you just say? Want to go?
- 6:53What it happened was? I? I was a social worker. I
- 7:00was a director of social work at a children's pediatric hospital in New York and
- 7:06I was of course dealing with many, many many young women, older women,
- 7:14middle age. It was, it was amazing. It was just tons
- 7:16of them and I was watching them and as it was, they would come
- 7:20in and out. Of course, that's where the bulk of my counseling started
- 7:28when I became, and that's where I started my life coaching. So it's
- 7:32very it was very interesting that excuse me. When I as I was talking
- 7:38to these women, God gave me a vision because I would see them they
- 7:44come in with these stories. One young woman came in one day and she
- 7:46said, and I looked at her face, I said, putting the world
- 7:48happened to you? She said, I tripped and fell against the bed.
- 7:56I said, okay, well, this is what you do with that bed,
- 8:00that bed, that particular bed, and if you need me to come
- 8:03and help you, we can take that and put it at the curve.
- 8:05That's what we can do because it's a bed, making you look like we
- 8:09can get rid of that. So that was an indication. And then God
- 8:15gave me a vision later on of how a woman was chasing a garbage truck
- 8:22that she had thrown her trash on, but she was chasing the garbage truck,
- 8:28and that was the original cover of my first The first rendition of this
- 8:33is, you know, girl, get a grip stock chasing the garbage truck.
- 8:35The Lord gives you an ability to get out of something. And what
- 8:39do you do? You run and get it back. But when you get
- 8:41it back, what do you do if you take all right? Think about
- 8:46garbage? Think about it really literally, think about garbage. You think about
- 8:50it. When you put something in the garbage hand and then you go to
- 8:52take it out, you have thrown other stuff on top of it. Other
- 8:54things have been on it, and then it has been maybe to get some
- 8:58maggote and some you know, real talk about garbage, and when you take
- 9:03it out, you have more on put you threw away and got back than
- 9:09it was when you originally got rid of it. That's all of this the
- 9:13psychology of the book. That's how it happened. Whoa, that's wow.
- 9:22You throw something away, it gets entangled in all the other trash. You
- 9:28go back and get it, but it's worst off than when you first had
- 9:33it. Absolutely, Yeah, y'all stopped playing at the bottom. When you
- 9:37scream you see the title of the book. Yeah, that was a whole
- 9:41buffy of knowledge just in that one segment. How important is this book to
- 9:50this generation? Even though it was done many years ago. This generation is
- 9:56showing me that that they're not allowing anyone to tell them anything. They want
- 10:05to go buy their own devices. They want to listen to their friends who
- 10:09don't know anything either. And then you have younger moms who weren't taught raising
- 10:20young women who they didn't teach. And then when you put that all together,
- 10:26you have a hodgepodge of foolishness. Oh and when you see all this
- 10:33coming together and it's clumped together, you have you know, I just want
- 10:37to teach people how to not become clutter magnets, because when you look at
- 10:45when you and when you look at this, they just draw clutter to them.
- 10:50Everywhere. They want to hear the latest gossip. They want to hear
- 10:56the latest will spill that tea. You just go drink some tea and maybe
- 10:58you'll feel better than that is feeling something anyway, When you find people like
- 11:03that, this is what this generation people will. They just come they ask
- 11:09your opinion, but what's your opinion? And then they'll tell you what your
- 11:13opinion is. You can't give me my opinion. It's mine. Oh my
- 11:16god. I just had this conversation with my eight year old and I have
- 11:20to I told her her name is Nia, I said, Nai. You
- 11:24have to remember everyone has an opinion. You can't tell somebody how to feel.
- 11:31You can't tell somebody how their opinion. You have to respect it absolutely.
- 11:35Now what she was here, that little eight year old, but this
- 11:37high and you can tell her that, I tell you, And you said,
- 11:43I'll just put her along with my grants and great grants. You'll fit
- 11:46in fine, you fit in beautiful. You are so right. This generation
- 11:52does not want to listen to anyone. I was just looking at the news
- 11:56before I came on with you guys, and they were talking about this on
- 12:01Live quitting, and I was like, why would you want to quit live?
- 12:05Don't you think your new employer can see your your actions against your old
- 12:09employer and realize that I really don't want that toxic atmosphere. So you go
- 12:18for your new job. Might be the last day of your new job,
- 12:22that's right, or you get the first yes. But they don't think it
- 12:26through. They do not think it through. They don't think to the end.
- 12:30They think as far as they can think. But and the interesting thing
- 12:33is I have a lot of younger people who talk to me. They talk
- 12:37with me and it's amazing, and they tell me, you don't seem like
- 12:43you're almost eighty years old. You don't seem like you're almost seventy. And
- 12:46that's because life is what it is life. If you use it well,
- 12:52if you treat life well, it will treat you well. If you don't,
- 12:56then you look like a string of suckers and you've been drugged through and
- 12:58not go backward. That's how you look. I don't intend to look like
- 13:03that. And see was just having this conversation put some coworkers of mine because
- 13:11I was in the uber and the gentleman asked me. He was like,
- 13:16oh, how was your dad touch touch? He said, oh, you're
- 13:18nice. Oh that's your niece. No, that's my daughter. Yes,
- 13:22I have a twenty year old and an eight year old. The uber drop
- 13:24at the red light, turn around, look at me. You got a
- 13:26how old? I saw a twenty year old and he was like, well,
- 13:30how old are you? And I said I'm forty three. He was
- 13:33shocked, he said, you can't be yes, and we started conversating back
- 13:37towards he said, well, why does a generation I guess they call itself
- 13:43X exerts whatever something else. Yeah, why does that generation look so hard
- 13:48like they've been like they round went on the cotton field itself and their aunts
- 13:56and they're all looking young and vibrant. And I said, you know what,
- 14:01I couldn't tell you, but you know what, I've seen that.
- 14:05Yeah, I've seen that absolutely, and it's more problement every day every day.
- 14:09You even have babies who are born now and you look at the child's
- 14:15like, wow, yeah, you're six months old. You've lived the whole
- 14:22lifetime in that in that wound baby, because because six months old. Okay,
- 14:28there are places I go for work, and it was so funny.
- 14:31I say, hello, some of these kids need to look like they need
- 14:33to be caught it. Are you serious? And even looking at my little
- 14:37cousin's graduation online, some of those kids look older. So that when you've
- 14:43seen it's totally totally correct and at least to my next question, Okay,
- 14:52when you were with this generation, what type of question did you ask yourself
- 14:58to write the book? I started with who would be my audience? But
- 15:07that's when I got stopped because I was told everyone is your audience, male
- 15:15female. I've had men read the book and was like, wow, we
- 15:20didn't know this. I know you didn't because you never ask anyone. That's
- 15:24why you didn't know it. But the but the reviews that I got from
- 15:30the men were good. They've always been good. They said it was harsh.
- 15:33A lot of it was harsh. I said, But I'm not talking
- 15:37to you about you. I'm talking to the general stupidity of women, not
- 15:48talking about the men. No, one didn't do anything to you that you
- 15:52don't allow. If you don't accept it, they won't do it. Do
- 15:58you allow it? You? You made me hit you? Okay, then
- 16:02that's why we be fighting, she said. The general stupidity of women like
- 16:11that. Think about it. Think about this. He you have a date,
- 16:17let's just say a date. If you have a date. And when
- 16:19I in my book, I ask three questions to begin the book. Talk
- 16:26about relationships. Okay, but kind of relationship are you in? Are you
- 16:33in a booty call relationship? Are you in a well it's it's no if
- 16:42you're not in a permanent relationships, only three kinds of When sad Am I
- 16:45right around. Okay, So the booty call relationship, that's one, and
- 16:52then you have and then you have the booty You have the booty call,
- 16:55you have the booty date, and then you have the booty relationship, the
- 17:00booty relationship. You know what, we're gonna take a commercial. No,
- 17:07you know, we're not even gonna do hold off on a commercial for a
- 17:10second. The booty call. We all know what that is. Yeah,
- 17:14nine am in the morning. Yeah, the booty date. What is the
- 17:21booty that you out give and you eat, see a movie, go dancing,
- 17:26have some drinks. Maybe then we then he says, we're gonna go
- 17:33back to your house. Why can't become the army? Always notice this,
- 17:41always notice this when you're in a relationship with are you laughing? But you
- 17:45know it's right? You know it right? I'm just quite wow. But
- 17:51when you have a booty and now, okay, I see the booty date.
- 17:53Yeah, a booty date, because you know where it's gonna end.
- 17:57Then when it ends there and you go out, possibly it's a co worker
- 18:03that you've when you were out with, and you get back to the office
- 18:06the next day and they don't and you have the waterpooler again in some coffee.
- 18:08They don't even know your name, they don't knowledge you. And then
- 18:11you upset why you didn't sign a contract that you were going to be exclusive
- 18:17with that person? Are you? That was a date? And you and
- 18:22your silly self decided, oh, well, if I get I've did not
- 18:27say that because I don't I don't know who's watching. If something happens between
- 18:33us, uh, then then he my boot stupid who said that? Nobody
- 18:41said that. Okay, so we got the booty call, the booty date.
- 18:47Now the last one is the booty relationship relationship. Yes, you're in
- 18:52the relationship where the person brings nothing into the relationship, they don't give.
- 19:02Well, anyway, I have a three, another three. If you're not
- 19:07feeding me, if you're not financing me, and leave the other f to
- 19:15your imagination. You can't tell me what to do. And that is a
- 19:22booty relationship, y'all. I just want to stop so quick at this school,
- 19:27read this book with you know you're coming back, right, you know,
- 19:30I'm gonna read this book, but we're gonna take a commercial real quick,
- 19:36and we're gonna come back. If we're coming back, y'all. The
- 19:41three booty let's go to commercially. Yeah, you need to get your book

- 20:33Join the Queen. So, y'all, we basically Black After Dark, all
- 20:42new podcast show with your host, Black Diamond, author The Brown Message,
- 21:15Our Message Alive. So you guys, we are back. We are back.
- 21:33We are back, y'all. This has been one of the funniest ones
- 21:37I've ever had. I am so ready to read this book. So you
- 21:41told us that your male authors feel that the book is a little harsh.
- 21:47What are your female readers, I mean not male authors, but your male
- 21:49readers. What do your female readers say about the book? They think the
- 21:55same thing, it's a little harsh. BECA because they their their their responses
- 22:03have been they've been all positive. And one woman told me, she said,
- 22:08why didn't you write this? Why didn't you put this out twenty five
- 22:11years ago? I said, because it wasn't time. It just wasn't time.
- 22:14She said, do you know how much arty? And she was literally
- 22:15fussing at me. Do you know how much artic I could have gone if
- 22:18I had read this book twenty five years agold, yes, But you have
- 22:22it now? And are we okay? She said, yes, but I
- 22:23just wanted you to know that. But thank you, dear, thank you
- 22:26appreciated, he said. And I told all my friends to get a book.
- 22:30I said, okay, that would be wonderful. I much would you,
- 22:33But they they now, Um, can I read a couple of the
- 22:37reviews that they gave me? Sure, go ahead, Okay, I have
- 22:42UM one and and this this one was was to me really really nice.
- 22:49Um, she said. Many times we tend to wonder if the relationship we
- 22:59are in is good or not, should we pursue or run? This book
- 23:03gave insight on seeing relationships for what they were, good, bad, or
- 23:10indifferent. Guyla is something we all had at some point in our life,
- 23:17something we tend to catch over and over again because we don't learn the lesson
- 23:22the first time. This book is amazing and truthful. I have learned so
- 23:27much by reading this book. I am taking my life back from everyone I
- 23:33have given it away too. This includes family and friends. This is a
- 23:38must read if you want your life, time and energy back. I thought
- 23:44that was so profound. Oh so what this reader is saying this isn't just
- 23:48only for relationship between male and female. That you can apply this to other
- 23:53aspects. So if your life absolutely every relationship that you have, see see
- 24:00this. This. This was for me because I am myself needing to be
- 24:04this book because when you have friends, you know, it's all I was
- 24:11about. Toxic relationships is what relationships too, And I deal with that in
- 24:15the book as well. Toxic relationships. If you're if you're if you're in
- 24:18a in a work environment, and and and there's gossip going on, Oh
- 24:23and it doesn't pertain to your work, then why are you engaging in it?
- 24:27That goes along with don't be a clutter magnet? Wow, So,
- 24:33Mash you, what part of this book was the hardest to write? Did
- 24:37you ever reflect and see yourself like I'm writing this and I'm doing this,
- 24:42So what part was hard to write? What part was hardest to write.
- 24:48Um now, I do know. I'm looking at the books. I can
- 24:52I can see which chapter I I need to talk about. Um Uh.
- 24:56The hardest part was chapter six, and that's how to deal with pushy parents,
- 25:04clinging children, demanding people, negative bosses, and toxic friends. That
- 25:11was the hardest chapter to write. Wow, that's that's a lot. Yeah,
- 25:17yeah it was. That's that's a lot. So and because I knew
- 25:22I'd hurt somebody's feelings and mine, but mine got hurt more than anybody else's.
- 25:30And you know what, sometimes the truth hurts. People say, troops,
- 25:33you never hurt, but sometimes it does. It does, it absolutely
- 25:37does yea. So listen, I always ask a fun question. So here's
- 25:41my fun question to you. Okay, what does your grand your your grandkids
- 25:45call you the Gigigi? What does they called me? They called me Triple,
- 25:51They called me the Gigi man. So what does gg Triple jeeves Ma
- 26:00do When she is not writing? She listens to music a lot because that's
- 26:07my soothing space. I study, okay, because I'm looking for information for
- 26:15my next writings. I do. Because I'm a minister. I find myself
- 26:26doing a lot of ministering. When I'm not right, when I'm not in
- 26:29my space, and people think that I never have my space. I don't
- 26:33know what that is about. They just say, oh, I can call
- 26:37you. Yeah, I know it's one o'clock in the morning, but you're
- 26:38but your mom and you're gonna listen. Now, these are children, not
- 26:41my biological children, mind you. These are other people's children, grown over
- 26:48fifty years old. They're calling me to get some information. Well, what
- 26:52do you think I should do? That is your project. You make a
- 26:55decagent, but I need the sounding board. Oh so now I'm a sounding
- 26:59board. Okay, thank you very much. But otherwise otherwise I enjoy traveling,
- 27:06love traveling. Don't don't do it as much as I want to at
- 27:10this point because of how it is at the airports. Because if I would
- 27:14have a very serious meltdown, were I at an airport and had to stay
- 27:18there for three days, everyone would be sitting in a corner, including the
- 27:22flight flight the people regular didn't know you get into the corner. Why because
- 27:26you didn't get my reservation right, So you go, I'm getting your time
- 27:30out, not to put him a time out yet, got to go.
- 27:34So you said you love music, Oh, yes, you can go to
- 27:40one concert, one concert only. Who would it be one concert only?
- 27:49Would probably have to own Well, I couldn't go to that because they're not
- 27:55here anymore. Well, but they can help me here, that's fine.
- 27:57I would go to Nancy Willson. What okay, so I'm about to I'm
- 28:06sorry. Was Nancy Wilson the one that was on the Cosby Show who played
- 28:12I've got to figure out who Nancy Wilson is. Nancy Wilson was one of
- 28:17the top soul you know, songstress back in by day, so you need
- 28:22to look Nancy, Honey. I am right now. I apologize everyone,
- 28:27but the librarian and me just kicked this and we were still gonna talk.
- 28:33So while I'm looking for Nancy Willia was Wilson correct? Yes? How would
- 28:37you tell our readers how they can contact you or even get your book?
- 28:42Well, to get my book, all they would need to do is go
- 28:45to Amazon dot com and in the search bar put in girl, get a
- 28:51grip, stop chasing the garbage truck and click and it's right there. And
- 28:56in the event, if anyone but let what she was on the Cosby Show,
- 29:03Yes, listen, yes she was. That's a shame. And and
- 29:11let me say this. Let me say this about about the Queen Angela.
- 29:15She she is so she she just clicked put it in, you know,
- 29:18just put it in in the bottom of the screen. I love this woman.
- 29:23I just want her to know I love you. You are so there.
- 29:26Oh my goodness. I wou'd have been fumbling around forever to find that,
- 29:33and it just automatically appears. It's like a wow, don't worry.
- 29:38She if you, if you stick around Tuesday, I'll be chatting with her
- 29:42on Tuesday night. But I'll tell you about that lab okay, okay,
- 29:47um. So, uh what else did you ask me? Oh? The
- 29:49concert? Yes, I will see Nancy Wilson, so I announced. I
- 29:53remember her face from the Cosbee Show because she played there. She played Denise's
- 30:03husband's mom mother. I remember that when they had that episode because it was
- 30:07so funny. She's like, I didn't I didn't like her. I didn't
- 30:10like to think that you do. And I was like, what, yes,
- 30:15I still like Bow Cosby. I'm a Sola Cosby fan. And there's
- 30:19nothing wrong with that. You know, personal choices of what they are,
- 30:23and you for having your own personal choice. And I look at a different
- 30:30world, just like it was day one and I've never seen before, and
- 30:34a lot of a lot was taught on that too. Yes, yes,
- 30:40yeah, And that's the way I look at any sitcom or anything I'm watching.
- 30:45I look at it through the lessons I can take away what I can
- 30:47learn from it. That's what I am. Well, I cannot tell you
- 30:52how much I have enjoy Tonight. I am going to read your I told
