Latest / The Mark Simone Show / Hour 2: What did Gavin Newsom say?
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Now more. Mark Simone on sevent ten wo Well, it
- 0:10Speaker 1: looks pretty nice outside here in the middle of Manhattan.
- 0:13Speaker 1: It looks like I mean, there's some snow left, but
- 0:15Speaker 1: I'd say seventy five percent of the snow is gone.
- 0:18Speaker 1: Sidewalks clear as can be, streets clear, a lot of
- 0:20Speaker 1: people out there, traffic, everything out there. It's getting better.
- 0:25Speaker 1: And again it's gonna be a warm weekend. It'll be
- 0:27Speaker 1: in the forties. That'll get rid of all the snow
- 0:30Speaker 1: once and for all. So, hey, President Trump, yesterday, you
- 0:36Speaker 1: know they had to kill another assassin shows up at
- 0:40Speaker 1: mar A Lago, another assassin with a shotgun and a
- 0:43Speaker 1: can of gas. They said, he got through the perimeter.
- 0:46Speaker 1: For what I'm hearing is he got through the gate somehow.
- 0:50Speaker 1: There's two different gates, well actually three, but some of
- 0:53Speaker 1: them got through one of the gates and was on
- 0:54Speaker 1: the grounds. They had to shoot him. But the President yesterday,
- 0:58Speaker 1: you know, he's always, always, always talking to the press,
- 1:01Speaker 1: unlike previous presidents. So they asked him a comment about
- 1:05Speaker 1: this mar A Lago assassin that showed up, and he said, quote,
- 1:09Speaker 1: I got a lot of people gunning for me. That's
- 1:13Speaker 1: a pretty good response. He said, you read about all
- 1:15Speaker 1: these crazy shooters, but they only go after consequential presidents.
- 1:20Speaker 1: They don't go after non consequential presidents. So maybe I
- 1:24Speaker 1: want to be a little less consequential. The audience laughed
- 1:26Speaker 1: a little. I know, is that true? They only got well, yeah,
- 1:30Speaker 1: they went after Kennedy. Well, there were two assassination attempts
- 1:35Speaker 1: on Gerald Ford. I wouldn't call him the most consequential president,
- 1:40Speaker 1: but they do tend to go after the biggest, greatest names,
- 1:43Speaker 1: you know, Kennedy, Martin Luther, King, Bobby Kennedy, Abraham Lincoln.
- 1:48Speaker 1: But I don't think Ford had two assassination attempts. I don't.
- 1:52Speaker 1: I mean where they actually had to shoot the person,
- 1:54Speaker 1: they're going to arrest the person. I don't think. Yeah,
- 1:58Speaker 1: I don't think anybody's made three. That's pretty good. I
- 2:00Speaker 1: think Trump now holds the all time record these assassins.
- 2:03Speaker 1: This guy was young, he was twenty. The shooter in Butler, Pennsylvania.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Young.
- 2:07Speaker 1: They're often very young. Lee Harvey Oswold was a pretty
- 2:10Speaker 1: young guy. You got to be young and crazy to
- 2:13Speaker 1: do something like that. President Trump got Mexico yesterday to
- 2:18Speaker 1: handover one hundred cartel leaders drug cartel leaders. You know,
- 2:23Speaker 1: a bunch of Salomonco's, like if you watch Breaking Bad.
- 2:27Speaker 1: They were in Mexico that have been held there, but
- 2:29Speaker 1: the President wants them returned to the United States. He
- 2:32Speaker 1: wants to try them here for crimes against America. He
- 2:36Speaker 1: calls this whole cartel group a foreign terrorist organization. I
- 2:40Speaker 1: don't know how he did it, but he got Mexico
- 2:42Speaker 1: to very quietly ship one hundred of them back to
- 2:45Speaker 1: the United States where they will face justice here. One
- 2:48Speaker 1: hundred cartel members. Now expect Democrats right now, they're trying
- 2:54Speaker 1: to figure out if the cartel has an actual flag.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Expect him to start using that flag on the Facebook profile,
- 3:02Speaker 1: on Twitter. I expect him to start wearing lapel pins
- 3:05Speaker 1: with the flag of the drug car tells. Hey, Gavin
- 3:08Speaker 1: Newsom getting a lot of flak now. He appears and
- 3:13Speaker 1: has appeared for months, to be the leading candidate for
- 3:16Speaker 1: twenty twenty eight. He's the guy way out in front
- 3:19Speaker 1: as the top candidate for twenty twenty eight. And as
- 3:21Speaker 1: I always remind you, historically, whoever's out in front at
- 3:26Speaker 1: this point never gets the nomination. If you go back
- 3:29Speaker 1: through history, whoever is out in front three years early,
- 3:33Speaker 1: three years before the election, two years before the election.
- 3:36Speaker 1: It's always somebody like this, always like a good looking,
- 3:40Speaker 1: pretty boy, good on TV kind of guy who becomes
- 3:43Speaker 1: the front runner and then never gets it. John Edwards
- 3:46Speaker 1: comes to mind, Gary Hart. There's a whole bunch of them,
- 3:50Speaker 1: but they never get the nomination. So a lot of
- 3:53Speaker 1: people think Newsom wiped himself out. You know, AOC was
- 3:57Speaker 1: also talked about for twenty twenty eight. A lot of
- 3:59Speaker 1: people think with her ridiculously stupid answer on Taiwan, making
- 4:04Speaker 1: it clear she's an absolute babbling idiot on foreign policy,
- 4:07Speaker 1: they think that's the end of her presidential chances. And
- 4:10Speaker 1: they think Newsom did that this week when he just
- 4:15Speaker 1: put down black voters, minorities he's talking about. You know,
- 4:20Speaker 1: Democrats have a history of this. Democrats will say the
- 4:25Speaker 1: most racist things. And I don't know why do you
- 4:29Speaker 1: think that is exactly? Are they racist or are they
- 4:32Speaker 1: just they're pandering so much that they don't even realize
- 4:36Speaker 1: what the hell they're saying. They're so busy pandering, And
- 4:41Speaker 1: just the whole idea whether the minority voters they cannot
- 4:44Speaker 1: they can't get id they wouldn't know how to get
- 4:46Speaker 1: a driver's license. They won't know how to get a photoid.
- 4:48Speaker 1: It's the most racist thing you could say. But listen
- 4:51Speaker 1: to Kathy Hokel, the governor. I mean, who could say
- 4:53Speaker 1: anything this.
- 4:54Speaker 3: Stupid young black kids growing up in the Bronx who
- 4:56Speaker 3: don't even know what the word a computer is. They
- 5:00Speaker 3: they don't know these things.
- 5:03Speaker 1: And she's serious about this. They say these things here.
- 5:07Speaker 1: So Newsom is trying to pander to black voters. And
- 5:12Speaker 1: he said, you know, I'm just like you. And first
- 5:15Speaker 1: of all, he's not just like anybody. I don't know
- 5:17Speaker 1: anybody like Gavin Newsom. He was born a wealthy kid,
- 5:21Speaker 1: wealthy family and privileged kidding, he's a wealthy guy. Now
- 5:25Speaker 1: you always see him in this restaurant, that restaurant only
- 5:29Speaker 1: ordering an eight thousand dollars bottle of wine. He's not
- 5:31Speaker 1: just like anybody, but he's so insulting. I'm just like you.
- 5:36Speaker 1: In fact, I got an SAT score a nine sixty,
- 5:39Speaker 1: which is is that low? I guess that's considered very
- 5:42Speaker 1: very low. I probably got an eight hundred. I was
- 5:45Speaker 1: the worst student in the world. But so he's assuming
- 5:49Speaker 1: if you're a minority voter, you must really be dumb
- 5:51Speaker 1: and get a low SAT score. But it's the dumbest
- 5:53Speaker 1: thing he could have said.
- 5:54Speaker 3: I'm not you know, I'm not trying to impress you.
- 5:57Speaker 1: I'm just trying to impress upon you.
- 6:00Speaker 3: I'm like you.
- 6:02Speaker 1: I'm no better than you.
- 6:04Speaker 4: You know.
- 6:05Speaker 1: I'm a nine sixty SAT guy.
- 6:08Speaker 4: H and you know.
- 6:10Speaker 1: And I'm not trying to offend anyone, you know, trying
- 6:12Speaker 1: to act all there. If you got nine forty, but literally.
- 6:18Speaker 3: A nine sixty SAT guy.
- 6:19Speaker 4: I cannot you you've never seen me read a speech.
- 6:24Speaker 1: Yeah, well they cut the clip. I don't know why
- 6:26Speaker 1: they cut the clip. He goes on to say, I
- 6:29Speaker 1: never read a speech because I can't read. He's just pandering.
- 6:35Speaker 1: Now there's a clip of him from about maybe it's
- 6:38Speaker 1: a year ago. I had this clip where he was
- 6:39Speaker 1: talking about some book. He said, it's a three hundred
- 6:41Speaker 1: page book. I read it in one night. It's the
- 6:43Speaker 1: most riveting book. He's going who could read a three
- 6:46Speaker 1: hundred page book in one night? But obviously he reads.
- 6:49Speaker 1: So he's just lying and pandering. But he thinks that's
- 6:51Speaker 1: how you talk to a black audience. Oh, I'm dumb.
- 6:53Speaker 1: I have a nine to sixty SAT or you talk
- 6:57Speaker 1: like hold.
- 6:57Speaker 3: Young black kids growing up in the Bronx who don't
- 7:00Speaker 3: even know what the word a computer is. They don't know,
- 7:03Speaker 3: they don't know these things.
- 7:04Speaker 1: The dumbest, racist, most awful nonsense. Now Newsom is in
- 7:08Speaker 1: a lot of trouble for this. Now coming up this weekend,
- 7:11Speaker 1: there's a big conference, big Democratic conference in South Carolina.
- 7:16Speaker 1: That's Clyburn's territory, but it's in South Carolina. It's a
- 7:19Speaker 1: big deal, this Democratic gaping, in fact, such a big deal.
- 7:22Speaker 1: They're going to Joe Biden is going to come in
- 7:24Speaker 1: and make a speech. Joe Biden is going to make
- 7:27Speaker 1: a speech to said you saw how bad he was
- 7:29Speaker 1: when he was in office, Watch him now that he's rusty,
- 7:33Speaker 1: watch him now that he hasn't done a speech in
- 7:34Speaker 1: six months. You're gonna hear a lot of as he
- 7:39Speaker 1: tries to make this speech. But Kamala Harris will be there.
- 7:43Speaker 1: So what do you do about Newsom with this racist
- 7:47Speaker 1: crap that he's spewing out. I don't know what's Clyburn
- 7:50Speaker 1: going to do, what's Kamala going to do, what's Joe
- 7:52Speaker 1: Biden going to do? I would assume that they've had
- 7:55Speaker 1: enough of this guy. They're not too thrilled with this guy,
- 7:58Speaker 1: so you might see them shots at him just to
- 8:02Speaker 1: once and for all get rid of. Hey. You know,
- 8:05Speaker 1: the Trump organization is run by Eric Trump, who's a brilliant,
- 8:10Speaker 1: brilliant guy. He very quietly, you know, he's not a
- 8:13Speaker 1: big showboat kind of a guy. He's a quiet sort
- 8:15Speaker 1: of guy. Businessman. Wrote a great book, by the way,
- 8:18Speaker 1: you should read. But the Trump organization doing major deals
- 8:22Speaker 1: all over the world. They're building I think it's Dubai
- 8:24Speaker 1: and incredible hotel. But they announced yesterday building a hotel.
- 8:29Speaker 1: Oh actually it's a Trump Tower, hotel offices, the whole
- 8:32Speaker 1: deal Australia. But it'll be the tallest skyscraper ever in Australia. Big,
- 8:37Speaker 1: big project. Eric doing an incredible job running that company. Hey,
- 8:42Speaker 1: this incident. If you go to my Twitter you can
- 8:46Speaker 1: see the video. This was horrible, just horrible yesterday. Obviously
- 8:53Speaker 1: it was you know, the height of the blizzard, snow everywhere,
- 8:56Speaker 1: unbelievable amount of snow, and these guys in it looks
- 9:00Speaker 1: like it's in the park somewhere. There's the Washington Square
- 9:02Speaker 1: parker somewhere. But they police a lot of police are
- 9:05Speaker 1: walking through and these guys make snowballs and hit the
- 9:10Speaker 1: cops with them. I mean big, you know, and these
- 9:12Speaker 1: were hard. This was wet snow yesterday. You can make
- 9:14Speaker 1: some serious snowballs, but hitting cops in the head, in
- 9:17Speaker 1: the face, it was just awful. This is the audio.
- 9:20Speaker 1: I think. Yeah, it's one thing to boo the cops,
- 9:41Speaker 1: which is pretty ugly in itself, pretty disgusting, but throwing
- 9:44Speaker 1: these snowballs hit I mean hitting them hard in the face.
- 9:47Speaker 1: So and again, the good news it's Manhattan, which means
- 9:50Speaker 1: you've got surveillance video everywhere. So Police Commissioner Jessica Titius
- 9:55Speaker 1: put out a statement condemning this and saying just to
- 9:59Speaker 1: do that is criminal. You've actually committed a crime, and
- 10:02Speaker 1: we will find you. So they're looking for I got
- 10:05Speaker 1: to give these police officers credit. They stayed cool. They
- 10:09Speaker 1: could have responded, they just kept walking. They were getting
- 10:13Speaker 1: hit with a lot of snowballs in the head, in
- 10:15Speaker 1: the face. They kept walking, They got into their car.
- 10:17Speaker 1: They left very cool. Under fire. But the police commissioner
- 10:21Speaker 1: said they will now detectives will now hunt down these guys,
- 10:24Speaker 1: find them. The bad news is it's the middle of
- 10:26Speaker 1: a blizzard, so many of them are covered up with
- 10:29Speaker 1: you know, hood on and scarfs and all that. But
- 10:31Speaker 1: hopefully he'll be able to identify them and prosecute them. Now,
- 10:35Speaker 1: the bad news is, where are you going to prosecute them?
- 10:38Speaker 1: In New York? With Alvin Bragg snowball, He's gonna let
- 10:40Speaker 1: everybody go. The good news is you got if we
- 10:46Speaker 1: ever get in a real trouble with this Alvin Bragg
- 10:48Speaker 1: letting every criminal news, You've got a great US attorney,
- 10:51Speaker 1: Jay Clayton, who is the US Attorney for the Southern
- 10:54Speaker 1: District that's New York City and Manhattan, and he has
- 10:59Speaker 1: said he will step in and take over, you know,
- 11:02Speaker 1: federal charges, go after these guys and charge them federally.
- 11:05Speaker 1: So that would be a great thing and one of
- 11:08Speaker 1: the greatest things I ever saw. I knew a guy
- 11:10Speaker 1: he's no longer with us. Brad Corbett was a great businessman,
- 11:15Speaker 1: and he owned the Texas Rangers, and he was a
- 11:17Speaker 1: big Texan and he although he spent a lot of
- 11:20Speaker 1: his time here, lived here a lot of the time. Anyway,
- 11:23Speaker 1: I was with him, and Nolan Ryan was with us.
- 11:26Speaker 1: The great pitcher at the time, maybe the greatest pitcher
- 11:28Speaker 1: in baseball at one time. Anyway, We're at this restaurant
- 11:31Speaker 1: in little Italy and it was just like this, in
- 11:33Speaker 1: the middle of a big snowstorm. And we came out
- 11:37Speaker 1: of the restaurant and across the street, it's little Lialy.
- 11:41Speaker 1: There's some like tough kids across the street making snowballs
- 11:44Speaker 1: and throwing them at us. Now, who would recognize Nolan
- 11:49Speaker 1: Ryan and civilian clothes, you know, and bundled up. But
- 11:53Speaker 1: Brad turned to him and said, go ahead, get him.
- 11:56Speaker 1: Nolan Ryan, the greatest pitcher in baseball, reaches down, makes
- 12:00Speaker 1: a snowball, throws it one hundred miles an hour, hits
- 12:03Speaker 1: the kid right between the eyes, reaches down, getst another
- 12:07Speaker 1: snowball one hundred miles an hour right between the eyes
- 12:09Speaker 1: of the other kid. Is the most incredible pitching I
- 12:12Speaker 1: have ever seen. Now, of course they just turned and
- 12:14Speaker 1: ran real fast, but it was amazing to watch. Hey,
- 12:20Speaker 1: the Epstein stuff. More and more people getting taken down
- 12:24Speaker 1: with these Epstein files. Not Donald Trump, He's got nothing.
- 12:28Speaker 1: The only thing you find with him in the Epstein
- 12:30Speaker 1: files is how much Epstein hated them. And there's a
- 12:33Speaker 1: lot of stuff in there, but you know, they'll tell
- 12:35Speaker 1: you what Trump is in there thirty eight thousand times. Yeah, well,
- 12:38Speaker 1: thirty seven thousand, nine hundred of the times it's Epstein
- 12:42Speaker 1: badmouthing Trump, meeting with his enemies like Michael Wolf, the
- 12:46Speaker 1: horrible little, weasly little guy, plotting against Trump, plotting to
- 12:51Speaker 1: go after him. Even when it's Bannon and Epstein they're
- 12:55Speaker 1: plotting against Trump, talking about Baddie Is. But yesterday, you know,
- 12:59Speaker 1: Prince Anne of course got arrested. But yesterday they arrested
- 13:02Speaker 1: a major figure in England. He was the former UK
- 13:06Speaker 1: ambassador to the United States. That's a big position in
- 13:09Speaker 1: England when you're the United Kingdom's ambassador to the US. Well,
- 13:13Speaker 1: he was arrested yesterday on suspicion that he was also involved,
- 13:17Speaker 1: like Prince Andrew, with giving Epstein classified documents. He's seventy
- 13:24Speaker 1: two years old. They came and arrested him. He's now
- 13:27Speaker 1: going to be facing some very very serious charges. And
- 13:32Speaker 1: Epstein was very good. Guys like Epstein who are weasily slimy,
- 13:36Speaker 1: with a ton of money, with millions millions. They have
- 13:39Speaker 1: what's known as Check's appeal. You know, everybody loves them.
- 13:43Speaker 1: The colleges love him because they write huge checks. The
- 13:45Speaker 1: charities love him, they write huge checks. A lot of
- 13:49Speaker 1: celebrities will hang around because a guy like that will
- 13:51Speaker 1: pay for everything. You'll lend you is playing, You'll give
- 13:53Speaker 1: you an apartment. You want to make a movie, a
- 13:56Speaker 1: TV show, a project, he'll finance it. And when it
- 14:01Speaker 1: comes to politicians, as who used to say they're like taxicabs,
- 14:06Speaker 1: you can hire them. When it comes to politicians, many
- 14:09Speaker 1: of them like money. And the UK Ambassador, Prince Andrew
- 14:14Speaker 1: and whatever. If you read through the files, Prince Andrew
- 14:17Speaker 1: is always getting everything from Epstein. I need an apartment
- 14:19Speaker 1: for a week. I need to use your apartment in Paris.
- 14:21Speaker 1: Can I have your current driver? Can I use your plane?
- 14:25Speaker 1: And this UK ambassador now in big, big trouble because
- 14:30Speaker 1: of the Epstein stuff. Hey, yesterday President Trump, it was
- 14:35Speaker 1: a very touching thing at the White House. You invited
- 14:37Speaker 1: angel families, people who have had their loved ones killed murdered,
- 14:43Speaker 1: Angel Family Day ceremony and the President made quite a
- 14:45Speaker 1: touching speech. Well, a lot of people are a little myth.
- 14:49Speaker 1: They can't believe that CNN and ms NOW or MSNBC
- 14:53Speaker 1: or whatever the hell it is refuse to cover it.
- 14:56Speaker 1: It's a very big thing. You know, it's in the
- 14:58Speaker 1: middle of the day. It's not like you're interrupting your
- 15:00Speaker 1: primetime shows. It's the middle of the day. Usually any
- 15:03Speaker 1: if this were Biden, the course, they would would have
- 15:06Speaker 1: covered it. They would have rerun it eighteen times. But
- 15:08Speaker 1: because it was President Trump and they they say it
- 15:11Speaker 1: was a tear jerking event, they didn't cover it. They
- 15:15Speaker 1: refused to cover it. Hey, we'll take some calls. Next
- 15:18Speaker 1: eight hundred three two one zero seven ten is the number.
- 15:22Speaker 1: Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten set up,
- 15:27Speaker 1: pre said on the iHeartRadio app to dou wo R
- 15:30Speaker 1: to hear Mark live. Set another for Mark's podcast to
- 15:34Speaker 1: hear him anytime.
- 15:36Speaker 5: Now back to Mark Zimone on do wo R.
- 15:40Speaker 1: Hey, let's take some calls. Let's go to uh Norma
- 15:43Speaker 1: in Connecticut. Norma, how you doing?
- 15:46Speaker 6: I'm doing great? How are you?
- 15:48Speaker 1: Let me check? I am not bad? Not bad. See,
- 15:51Speaker 1: nobody actually cares. They just say how are you. It's
- 15:53Speaker 1: just agreed. We they don't really care.
- 15:55Speaker 6: How you I didn't know if you heard the OAC
- 15:58Speaker 6: the C stands for krim.
- 16:00Speaker 4: Oh.
- 16:03Speaker 1: Yeah, they like to drink in Connecticut's a little early.
- 16:08Speaker 6: I thought that was funny.
- 16:09Speaker 1: First, First, let's go over this. Who are you actually
- 16:12Speaker 1: talking about?
- 16:14Speaker 6: Crampton, Ralph Cramdon. Yeah, you know, and he says a
- 16:18Speaker 6: hamah mahamma when he doesn't when he's in trouble and
- 16:21Speaker 6: he doesn't know what to say.
- 16:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:24Speaker 6: Well, my husband, Joe, he thought it would be great
- 16:26Speaker 6: to call it in.
- 16:27Speaker 1: Oh got it? Where are you in Connecticut?
- 16:30Speaker 4: Fairfield?
- 16:31Speaker 1: And you have a lot of snow there?
- 16:33Speaker 6: We have a lot, Yes, we have about maybe eighteen inches.
- 16:37Speaker 1: Whoa, that's a lot. I like Fairfield. You have a
- 16:40Speaker 1: dairy queen here. I love. You've got great places. You
- 16:44Speaker 1: got Sinclair, you got all these great rests. You got
- 16:46Speaker 1: Sophie's Pizza. You got all these great places there.
- 16:49Speaker 7: Uh huh.
- 16:50Speaker 1: I can see you're not too excited. I should have
- 16:52Speaker 1: named bars.
- 16:53Speaker 6: No, no, no, I'm a little flussier about my food.
- 16:56Speaker 1: Well you got ash that new restaurant, you know that one,
- 16:59Speaker 1: that Mediterranean restauran.
- 17:00Speaker 5: H uh huh.
- 17:02Speaker 1: All right, thanks for going. See a lot of the
- 17:06Speaker 1: people in Connecticut that's ald They just drink. It's not
- 17:08Speaker 1: about food. Let's go to Blauvelt in Florida Blauvelt. How
- 17:11Speaker 1: you doing march them all?
- 17:14Speaker 2: Good morning?
- 17:14Speaker 1: Say oh are you I'm good?
- 17:17Speaker 2: Hey? That story you had me last so hard that
- 17:20Speaker 2: no one ryans that was believable. That's fantastic. Hey, one point,
- 17:26Speaker 2: I'd like to make it a real shining star of
- 17:30Speaker 2: this administration. I fear this.
- 17:32Speaker 1: Marco Rubio, were you on the moon? You sound like
- 17:35Speaker 1: one small stuff.
- 17:36Speaker 2: For man, I'm driving into jeep and going up for
- 17:40Speaker 2: Tampa Bay.
- 17:41Speaker 1: You're driving in a what.
- 17:44Speaker 7: My jeep?
- 17:44Speaker 1: A jeep. Well you might want to go see the
- 17:48Speaker 1: dealer and say the phone doesn't sound too good in
- 17:50Speaker 1: this thing.
- 17:51Speaker 2: But go ahead, Oh you know, it's a it's a
- 17:55Speaker 2: nice car, mark Marko. Rubio is just a real shining
- 17:59Speaker 2: star administration, brilliant, just a number one guy.
- 18:04Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a very good point. Now, Rubio, you know
- 18:07Speaker 1: everybody says jd Vance is the front runner. J. D
- 18:09Speaker 1: Vance of course is the vice president. But man, jd
- 18:13Speaker 1: Vance is a great guy, but he seems like a
- 18:15Speaker 1: junior Trump, like a guy trying to be Trump, whereas
- 18:18Speaker 1: Rubio not bothering with that kind of stuff and instead
- 18:21Speaker 1: looks like a much more adult sort of a guy.
- 18:23Speaker 1: He's been brilliant as Secretary of State, brilliant with foreign policy,
- 18:27Speaker 1: very thoughtful reason so some people think he's going to
- 18:31Speaker 1: have the edge at some point. Let's go to Jane
- 18:33Speaker 1: in New Jersey. Jane, how you doing?
- 18:36Speaker 2: Hi?
- 18:36Speaker 6: Mark, I just wanted to make a comment about the
- 18:39Speaker 6: Gavin Newsom interview in Atlanta. I don't think he was
- 18:44Speaker 6: talking down to them. I think he was imitating Obama.
- 18:47Speaker 6: Did you see the way he was sitting and the
- 18:49Speaker 6: hand gestures and the cadence in his voice. Look at
- 18:53Speaker 6: it again, and he was trying to sound like Obama.
- 18:59Speaker 1: Well, but Obama's a lot brighter. Would have worded that
- 19:02Speaker 1: much better. But you're you ever see the way he sits,
- 19:04Speaker 1: Gavin me well, the way he crosses his legs, the
- 19:07Speaker 1: way he's saying. It's the weirdest body language I've ever seen.
- 19:10Speaker 1: All Right, Jane, thanks for calling. Let's go to Bob Motvale,
- 19:13Speaker 1: New Jersey. Bob, how you doing.
- 19:15Speaker 5: I'm doing well? Mark, Thanks for taking my call. But
- 19:19Speaker 5: maybe I just comment on the same thought there. It's
- 19:22Speaker 5: you know, Gavin Newsom and AOC. They proved that they're
- 19:25Speaker 5: not like, totally intelligent. But I'd be more concerned with
- 19:29Speaker 5: the people like yacking it up and going along with
- 19:32Speaker 5: these people. You know, AOC got applause, Gavin Newsom gets
- 19:36Speaker 5: like laughter and like, you know, like ha has. Both
- 19:40Speaker 5: are the people I'd be worried about.
- 19:42Speaker 1: Yeah, but I remember he's talking to probably a democratic audience.
- 19:45Speaker 1: If people have come to hear him, it's obviously fans
- 19:47Speaker 1: are his, so you can't go by them. And obviously
- 19:53Speaker 1: you could say something in front of a bunch of
- 19:54Speaker 1: Democrats they all applaud. But then the video gets out
- 19:57Speaker 1: and the rest of the world's horrified by what you said.
- 20:00Speaker 1: Let's go to Tom and Queen's Tom.
- 20:01Speaker 4: How you doing, Hey, Mark, good morning. The follow up
- 20:06Speaker 4: to uh you.
- 20:08Speaker 1: There, No I left, Oh yeah, I stepped out.
- 20:10Speaker 4: Oh no, sorry, okay, I thought to get this kind
- 20:12Speaker 4: of listen to the snowball story. The follow up. It's
- 20:15Speaker 4: a follow up to these kids that are gathered around
- 20:17Speaker 4: in hundreds and they're going to the malls and trying
- 20:20Speaker 4: to take over the malls. They get they get caught,
- 20:23Speaker 4: and nothing happens. So it just sounds like the same
- 20:26Speaker 4: thing all over again.
- 20:27Speaker 1: Yeah, it depends what mall. I mean. There's some malls
- 20:29Speaker 1: that are fine.
- 20:31Speaker 4: Yeah, but one hundred kids.
- 20:32Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that's a lot. Yeah, I know, you're right.
- 20:35Speaker 1: That's the problem with the Mom Donnie world. The police
- 20:37Speaker 1: are afraid to do anything normally. You see a hundred
- 20:39Speaker 1: kids looking like they're up to no good in the park,
- 20:43Speaker 1: you get them to disperse, you chase them away. But
- 20:46Speaker 1: everybody's afraid to do everything in Mom Donnie world. And
- 20:49Speaker 1: that those cops getting hit in the face with snowballs
- 20:51Speaker 1: from these guys. The mayor should have been the mayor
- 20:55Speaker 1: should have been all over television talking about that. But
- 20:57Speaker 1: he's not really a mayor. We don't know what he
- 20:59Speaker 1: is yet. But hey, when we come back, Bill O'Reilly
- 21:02Speaker 1: will be with us next. Lots to talk to him
- 21:04Speaker 1: about in just a moment on seven to ten WR.
- 21:09Speaker 6: MARKR.
- 21:14Speaker 1: Well Bill O'Reilly for decades, the number one TV anchor,
- 21:17Speaker 1: the number one best selling author on Earth, nonfiction author
- 21:21Speaker 1: on Earth. In fact, you should get his latest book,
- 21:23Speaker 1: Confronting Evil, powerful book, and you can see his TV show.
- 21:27Speaker 1: Get the column. Everything's at Bill O'Reilly dot com. Bill
- 21:30Speaker 1: O'Reilly dot com. Oh, and make sure you watch the
- 21:33Speaker 1: YouTube channel. He's got great stuff there. Bill O'Reilly on YouTube.
- 21:37Speaker 1: Bill O'Reilly.
- 21:37Speaker 7: How you doing hanging tod Mark? You ben?
- 21:41Speaker 1: I'm good. So State of the Union tonight, what does
- 21:44Speaker 1: the president need to do?
- 21:47Speaker 7: Cay present a positive picture of the country. So mister
- 21:54Speaker 7: Trump often dwells on the negative. Obviously he's got a
- 21:57Speaker 7: Supreme Court decision. He doesn't why we kind of overlooked
- 22:03Speaker 7: that other than to say, we believe that this is
- 22:07Speaker 7: strong for the country, these tariffs, and now we're gonna
- 22:11Speaker 7: change a little bit, but we still have this amount
- 22:14Speaker 7: of money coming in and you know, overwhelm the audience
- 22:18Speaker 7: with facts, but keep it essentially positive. That's what he
- 22:23Speaker 7: has to do.
- 22:24Speaker 1: Yeah. Hey, Democrats have a new tradition of embarrassing themselves
- 22:28Speaker 1: as State of the Unions with booing and stuff like that.
- 22:31Speaker 1: Now there's a rumor they're going to walk out tonight.
- 22:33Speaker 1: What do you think the Democrats will do?
- 22:36Speaker 7: I don't think so, because the leadership doesn't want that.
- 22:41Speaker 7: So the real far far left Democrats aren't even showing
- 22:46Speaker 7: up at all. They're having their own State of the
- 22:49Speaker 7: Union on the mall, which no one all attend except
- 22:52Speaker 7: the bust and people who are paid. And here's an
- 22:56Speaker 7: interesting aside for wo or listeners. The people who are
- 23:01Speaker 7: not attending, and you can get their names on the internet.
- 23:04Speaker 7: The House members, the senators aren't doing this, but they
- 23:10Speaker 7: are all beholden to far left money, which means they
- 23:15Speaker 7: run every two years and their campaigns are financed by
- 23:21Speaker 7: the sources of the world. The real radical fringe elements
- 23:25Speaker 7: pump tens of millions of dollars into these campaigns. If
- 23:30Speaker 7: these people don't do what their radical masters tell them
- 23:35Speaker 7: to do, they get cut off from the money. Most
- 23:39Speaker 7: people don't know that that it's a money game. So
- 23:43Speaker 7: the ones that aren't going to be there, and those
- 23:46Speaker 7: are the ones that would walk out or scream and yell,
- 23:49Speaker 7: they'll be in another separate thing, which of course will
- 23:53Speaker 7: have no impact at all.
- 23:55Speaker 1: Yeah, so aren't they kind of helping the president by
- 23:58Speaker 1: getting all the Adam Shift angry out of the audience
- 24:02Speaker 1: of the speech that it'll help the press?
- 24:04Speaker 7: Right, it does, and why would Trump want him there?
- 24:12Speaker 7: You know, whatever Trump does, Shift and his ilk are
- 24:16Speaker 7: gonna condemn it. Says it bothers me about ideologues and
- 24:21Speaker 7: far left is obviously the problem in the country right now.
- 24:25Speaker 7: Far right doesn't have any organization, no cohesiveness. There are
- 24:29Speaker 7: a bunch of people running around, but they don't have
- 24:31Speaker 7: any organization that, for example, can get into the media
- 24:37Speaker 7: with propaganda, whereas a far left has all that. So
- 24:42Speaker 7: but if you're an ideologue, no matter what the other
- 24:46Speaker 7: side does, you're gonna condemn it. And that's not healthy.
- 24:50Speaker 7: It's not healthy for you, and it's not healthy for
- 24:52Speaker 7: the country.
- 24:54Speaker 1: Yeah, hey, the Olympic hockey players there tonight, that'll be
- 24:59Speaker 1: a big thing.
- 25:00Speaker 7: It will be in the story about the women's hockey
- 25:03Speaker 7: team is really not being reported accurately. Now, I did
- 25:06Speaker 7: it yesterday when the announcement came out from the women's
- 25:12Speaker 7: hockey team that they would not be attending the State
- 25:15Speaker 7: of the Union despite being invited. Now, it wasn't a
- 25:17Speaker 7: belligerent press release. They said, oh, thank you, and we
- 25:23Speaker 7: feel honored that we're invited, but we're not showing up.
- 25:26Speaker 7: There's no reason for them not to show up. It's
- 25:29Speaker 7: not like they have another event they don't. Now, there
- 25:32Speaker 7: are particular women that are playing in professional games, but
- 25:37Speaker 7: the men's side has that too. So the fair way
- 25:41Speaker 7: and patriotic way to do it would be for the
- 25:45Speaker 7: leadership of the women's team to say, ladies, if you
- 25:49Speaker 7: want to go go. If you can fit it into
- 25:51Speaker 7: your schedule, go on up. That's what the men's team did.
- 25:57Speaker 7: But there's a difference in culture. The women's sports in
- 26:02Speaker 7: America are very infiltrated with the left. We saw that
- 26:06Speaker 7: with the crazy women's soccer team, remember that Rapino and
- 26:09Speaker 7: all those people. Yeah, well that persists, whereas that's not
- 26:14Speaker 7: on the men's side. So the men hockey team is
- 26:18Speaker 7: not the NBA. And it's a very interesting story because
- 26:23Speaker 7: you're not getting why the women are doing what they're doing.
- 26:28Speaker 7: There is a political I believe there is a political
- 26:33Speaker 7: component to it.
- 26:35Speaker 1: Interesting. Hey Bill O'Reilly, Gavin Newsom, how badly did he
- 26:40Speaker 1: damage himself this week?
- 26:42Speaker 7: Not at all really, And it's another example of ideology
- 26:46Speaker 7: gone out of control. What Newsom said was totally innocent,
- 26:53Speaker 7: and I wrote a message of the Darya Tom Bill
- 26:55Speaker 7: O'Reilly dot com. And all he was trying to do
- 26:59Speaker 7: was saying, I'm a regular guy. I had my problems
- 27:02Speaker 7: in school. I'm not some elite guy. That's all he
- 27:05Speaker 7: was trying to say. And anybody who read the interview,
- 27:10Speaker 7: which I did, knows that. But of course the opposition
- 27:16Speaker 7: to Newsom wants to demon I saim and now call
- 27:20Speaker 7: him a racist, which is absurd. There's enough stuff to
- 27:24Speaker 7: get Newsome on legitimate stuff without doing this kind of stuff.
- 27:30Speaker 7: And usually this happens liberals do it against conservatives. It's
- 27:36Speaker 7: very very rare that the converse. And when I saw
- 27:41Speaker 7: that yesterday, I went, come on, everybody knows what he
- 27:44Speaker 7: was trying to say. There was no malice in his remarks,
- 27:46Speaker 7: and it's my job to report honestly.
- 27:49Speaker 1: So I am I disagree slightly the first of all,
- 27:53Speaker 1: that whole thing. I'm not an elite guy. He is
- 27:54Speaker 1: an elite guy. He's a very elitist sort of a guy.
- 27:57Speaker 7: Okay, and that's that's legitimate. He's trying to pay himself
- 28:00Speaker 7: off as one of the folks when he's not one
- 28:02Speaker 7: of the folks. No problem with that. But you don't
- 28:05Speaker 7: think that Gavin Newsom's are racist, do you?
- 28:08Speaker 1: I don't think he's are racist. I think Democrats get
- 28:10Speaker 1: into this pandering kind of talk and they don't realize
- 28:13Speaker 1: what the hell they're saying. Half the time, it comes
- 28:15Speaker 1: out awkwardly when they say it. It doesn't sound great
- 28:19Speaker 1: when they say it.
- 28:19Speaker 7: But that's just that may be true. But I've been
- 28:25Speaker 7: accused when I made some remarks over my career of
- 28:29Speaker 7: being a racist, and I'm going it's ridiculous. So I
- 28:34Speaker 7: don't like that label, and I don't like when anybody
- 28:38Speaker 7: uses it unless you had the facts to back it up.
- 28:42Speaker 7: And clearly Newsome was not trying to denigrate black people.
- 28:46Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, but he is. I was talking with
- 28:51Speaker 1: this before. If you're the historian, every president your election,
- 28:55Speaker 1: there's always some pretty boy who comes way out in front,
- 28:57Speaker 1: two years out of Gary Hart or John Edwards, but
- 29:02Speaker 1: that one always fizzles. They never end up being the nominee.
- 29:06Speaker 1: You think that'll happen with Nwsom.
- 29:08Speaker 7: Newsom's up against a very weak field. No establishment person
- 29:16Speaker 7: is polling well. I mean, you got Kloba shar she'll run.
- 29:24Speaker 7: She's running for governor of Minneesota. She'll win, and then
- 29:27Speaker 7: she'll run for president. You got Brashier in Kentucky, Shapiro
- 29:33Speaker 7: in Pennsylvania. These are not strong candidates. People don't know
- 29:40Speaker 7: they are. Yeah, so everybody knows Newsom. He's got name recognition,
- 29:45Speaker 7: but he has absolutely destroyed the state of California. So
- 29:50Speaker 7: anybody with an IQ over fifty would go. If he
- 29:53Speaker 7: destroyed the state of California. Wouldn't he destroy the United States?
- 29:57Speaker 7: And the answer is, yeah, he would. That's not a
- 30:00Speaker 7: tough one. So but he you don't count him out.
- 30:07Speaker 7: I spent some time with him a few weeks ago
- 30:10Speaker 7: at Super Bowl weekend in San Francisco. Is a very
- 30:13Speaker 7: slick guy, a good campaigner. He's gonna have a lot
- 30:16Speaker 7: of money. So I wouldn't count him out.
- 30:19Speaker 1: Okay, but you know how to read people. When you
- 30:21Speaker 1: were with him, did you think to yourself, this is
- 30:22Speaker 1: a very sincere guy i'm talking to.
- 30:27Speaker 7: Okay, that's an interesting question, Simone. Simone's giving me a
- 30:32Speaker 7: workout today.
- 30:33Speaker 1: All Right, you don't have to answer.
- 30:35Speaker 7: No, No, I am going to answer, because I never
- 30:37Speaker 7: dodge questions. Two tracks. He was sincere in basically having
- 30:45Speaker 7: a conversation with me about the state of San Francisco. Okay,
- 30:53Speaker 7: because I was out there and I'm going to do
- 30:55Speaker 7: a special news nation about the collapse of the city.
- 30:58Speaker 7: He lives out the city. He does not live in
- 31:02Speaker 7: San Francisco. I did not know that. He keeps that
- 31:05Speaker 7: very quiet in the conversation. He didn't dodge. It was
- 31:10Speaker 7: a good conversation. The insincerity might have occurred because he
- 31:16Speaker 7: needs me and he knows it. So I have a
- 31:21Speaker 7: very strong national voice. He doesn't want me to condemn him.
- 31:27Speaker 7: So there was that kind of manipulative thing. But I
- 31:31Speaker 7: enjoyed the conversation with him. He invited me on his
- 31:34Speaker 7: podcast and I accept it and that'll be on in
- 31:36Speaker 7: the fall, and if he carries through, that'll be an event.
- 31:40Speaker 1: That'll be interesting. Well, everybody watched Bill O'Reilly. You can
- 31:43Speaker 1: watch the TV show at billoreilly dot com and make
- 31:46Speaker 1: sure you watch his YouTube channel. There's great stuff YouTube.
- 31:50Speaker 1: How do you go to that YouTube slash bill O'Reilly.

- 32:10Speaker 7: the time I tape it this afternoon, late this afternoon,
- 32:12Speaker 7: I should have the story. So and it's free. I mean,

- 32:55Speaker 1: Wo welcome back to the Mark Simone shown Den wore
- 33:02Speaker 1: well State of the Union speech tonight. If you watch
- 33:05Speaker 1: all the crazy left wing channels they're going through that
- 33:08Speaker 1: do well. He better not go off script. You know
- 33:09Speaker 1: the president goes off script. He might say something, well,
- 33:12Speaker 1: he's already done five State of the Union speech. He's
- 33:14Speaker 1: never gone off script once. Expect it to go long,
- 33:18Speaker 1: though sometimes he goes. He said, why does he go
- 33:21Speaker 1: so long with that speech? The reason is it pushes
- 33:25Speaker 1: the Democratic response speech into the eleven o'clock hour, meaning
- 33:29Speaker 1: most people won't watch it. Then that's the reason. But
- 33:31Speaker 1: it's tonight we'll talk about it on the show tomorrow.
- 33:34Speaker 1: Don't go away. Buck and Clay are next. I'll be
