- 0:00Speaker 1: Now more marximone on sevent ten.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Wr Well, it's October seventh. It's a two year anniversary
- 0:08Speaker 2: of that horrible, horrible day that was the nine to
- 0:12Speaker 2: eleven for Israel. October seventh, its two years later. Hopefully
- 0:16Speaker 2: the peace agreement will happen at some point this week,
- 0:21Speaker 2: President Trump saying thought they were close. He did a
- 0:24Speaker 2: great interview last night. Greg Kelly reports The Great Show
- 0:28Speaker 2: on Newsmax every night at nine o'clock. President Trump called
- 0:31Speaker 2: in last night a great interview. You talked about everything
- 0:35Speaker 2: from a bad Bunny. You can if you go to
- 0:37Speaker 2: the Newsmax website or the Newsmax app, you can watch
- 0:40Speaker 2: last night's a great interview with President Trump, followed by me,
- 0:43Speaker 2: by the way, I was the next guest on there.
- 0:47Speaker 2: But great interview last night. So hey. Also, it's October seventh.
- 0:53Speaker 2: It's the twenty ninth anniversary of Well on this day.
- 0:58Speaker 2: In nineteen ninety October seventh, nineteen ninety six, it was
- 1:02Speaker 2: the debut of something called the Fox News Channel. Now
- 1:08Speaker 2: it was New Revolutionary. It just kind of came on
- 1:12Speaker 2: the air bill O'Reilly. I think was there from day one.
- 1:15Speaker 2: I think Sean Hannity was there from day one, but
- 1:18Speaker 2: the day before the Fox News Channel, it was the
- 1:21Speaker 2: cable landscape was basically CNN, was MSNBC there yet, No,
- 1:27Speaker 2: I don't think it was. It was CNN, and CNN
- 1:30Speaker 2: had a second channel called America's Talking that eventually became MSNBC.
- 1:36Speaker 2: But before Fox News started on this day in nineteen
- 1:40Speaker 2: ninety six, the biggest thing on cable, the one thing
- 1:42Speaker 2: everybody watched, was Larry King Live. Every night at nine o'clock,
- 1:46Speaker 2: it was Larry King Live from Washington. And there's nothing
- 1:52Speaker 2: like it today because Larry King Live one night might
- 1:56Speaker 2: be the House Majority Leader, or it might be a senator,
- 2:00Speaker 2: and the next night it might be Suzanne Summers. It
- 2:03Speaker 2: was you could do that back in those days. You
- 2:06Speaker 2: could be an entertainment show, you could be a news show.
- 2:08Speaker 2: You could have a wide variety of people. Well, I
- 2:10Speaker 2: guess you could still do that on a Jimmy Fallon
- 2:13Speaker 2: or The View. But that's the way it was. And
- 2:16Speaker 2: world leader, every world leader would come on Larry King
- 2:19Speaker 2: Live and it was a major show. It was the
- 2:21Speaker 2: number one show and cable until the Fox News Channel
- 2:25Speaker 2: came along and just wiped out everything CNN and everything
- 2:27Speaker 2: and then Bill O'Reilly became the biggest show, and then
- 2:30Speaker 2: Sean Hannity became the biggest show, and then everything that fucked.
- 2:33Speaker 2: But it's almost thirty years, twenty nine years, incredible success.
- 2:37Speaker 2: It's bigger than ever, doing better than ever, while all
- 2:40Speaker 2: the other cable networks just fizzle out. Last night, speaking
- 2:45Speaker 2: to Jimmy Fallon, Taylor Swift was the guest. Hey, Roger
- 2:50Speaker 2: Friedman will be with a little later this hour. We'll
- 2:52Speaker 2: talk to him about this. She is unbelievable at merchandising,
- 2:57Speaker 2: at marketing, at all of that stuff. But there she
- 3:01Speaker 2: was last night on Fallon. This was like, well, the
- 3:04Speaker 2: big appearance was last week. It was right here down
- 3:06Speaker 2: the hall. She was on with Elvis Duran. That was
- 3:10Speaker 2: the first big interview. But Taylor Swift last night, Jimmy Fallon,
- 3:14Speaker 2: I think.
- 3:14Speaker 3: For Travis the podcast was just sort of like a distraction,
- 3:17Speaker 3: sort of ruse to keep me not looking out the
- 3:21Speaker 3: windows of the house.
- 3:23Speaker 1: It was all happening.
- 3:24Speaker 2: It was the backyard normal when.
- 3:25Speaker 3: You got there, Like I don't every time he does
- 3:27Speaker 3: the podcast. It's not like he like blacks out all
- 3:29Speaker 3: the windows.
- 3:30Speaker 4: Like the drap.
- 3:32Speaker 3: It's like fully like just blackout drapes on every single
- 3:35Speaker 3: window of the whole house.
- 3:36Speaker 5: Yeah, you're like, honey, this is real sacred, it's.
- 3:38Speaker 3: Serious about this, and I really appreciate that. But then
- 3:43Speaker 3: after what I kind of realized, like he's he's walking
- 3:47Speaker 3: around sort of nervous about the podcast. He's like, my
- 3:49Speaker 3: heart is racing. I just really want I know how
- 3:51Speaker 3: much this means to you, like really want this to
- 3:54Speaker 3: be what you hoped it would be.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Now, let me explain to the audience. This is supposed
- 3:59Speaker 2: to be a fascinating story. This is what late night
- 4:03Speaker 2: talk has become. It's not like when you watch Johnny
- 4:05Speaker 2: Carson highlights and there's Don Rickles, and there's this and this.
- 4:09Speaker 2: By today's standards of late night, this is supposed to
- 4:12Speaker 2: be a great story, fascinating. He's supposed to be hanging
- 4:15Speaker 2: on the edge of your seat watching this. And you
- 4:18Speaker 2: know they don't do an anniversary show. I remember Carson
- 4:20Speaker 2: used to do an anniversary show every year. We'd play
- 4:22Speaker 2: all the highlights. Fallon doesn't do that because there's no highlights.
- 4:25Speaker 2: But what would you play this there's no highlights by
- 4:28Speaker 2: the end of the year. Here's more.
- 4:29Speaker 3: He's just my favorite person.
- 4:30Speaker 2: He's talking about Travis Kelcey.
- 4:32Speaker 3: He's just my favorite person I've ever met. No offense
- 4:34Speaker 3: to everyone else, but the fact that the fact that
- 4:38Speaker 3: this is the person that I get to hang out
- 4:40Speaker 3: with every day forever is just like that, that's the
- 4:43Speaker 3: whole thing of it. You look at that and you're like,
- 4:45Speaker 3: I didn't hang out with him forever and this represents that.
- 4:48Speaker 2: Oh oh now, let's be honest, you know, to each
- 4:52Speaker 2: his own. But when you look around the world at
- 4:55Speaker 2: all the people you've seen in the world, do you
- 4:58Speaker 2: say to yourself, when you see Travis Kelsey, that's the
- 5:00Speaker 2: guy I want to hang out with. I mean, if
- 5:04Speaker 2: you didn't know who he was, he just looks like
- 5:05Speaker 2: a bouncer at a club or something. This is Do
- 5:07Speaker 2: you look at him and say this, this is who
- 5:09Speaker 2: I want to hang out with. This is who I
- 5:11Speaker 2: want to talk But you got to give a credit. Hey,
- 5:15Speaker 2: we'll get we'll get to this later in the hour.
- 5:16Speaker 2: The merchandising, the marketing, this woman is a genius at it.
- 5:21Speaker 2: We'll get to all of that coming up. Hey, in Chicago,
- 5:26Speaker 2: you know, Ice is going around the country and they're
- 5:28Speaker 2: arresting illegals. This is what you want him to do.
- 5:31Speaker 2: They're arresting illegals. They're not arresting any immigrants. They're not
- 5:35Speaker 2: arresting migrants. They're arresting illegals that are here illegally. And
- 5:40Speaker 2: they're taking these illegals off the streets, taking them to
- 5:43Speaker 2: court and deporting them. This is the whole idea. Thanks
- 5:47Speaker 2: to Biden and company, millions and millions and millions of
- 5:51Speaker 2: illegals broke into the country and they're being removed one
- 5:55Speaker 2: by one by Ice. He's doing a great job. So
- 5:58Speaker 2: you had these democrats are so angry, so nuts, so violent.
- 6:02Speaker 2: First you had protests around ICE and their headquarters and
- 6:07Speaker 2: the agents, and then you had riots around ICE, and
- 6:10Speaker 2: then you had attack, even had a guy shoot at
- 6:13Speaker 2: ICE agents. And now in Chicago, these ICE agents, there's
- 6:17Speaker 2: a few cars. They're going through Chicago and these crazy
- 6:22Speaker 2: left wing violent democrats got a caravan of cars. They
- 6:26Speaker 2: got like ten cars, and these crazy left wing democrats
- 6:30Speaker 2: were armed automatic weapons, semi automatic weapons. They surrounded the
- 6:34Speaker 2: ICE agents, their cars, surrounded the ICE cars, boxed them
- 6:39Speaker 2: in and trapped them. It was an out and out ambush,
- 6:43Speaker 2: just like you see on Blue Bloods. You know when
- 6:45Speaker 2: Danny Reagan's transporting the prisoner and the drug cartel surround
- 6:49Speaker 2: his car and start firing it. But the same thing. Now,
- 6:53Speaker 2: where were the Chicago police? It turned out the ICE
- 6:55Speaker 2: agents they were in this ambush, in the standoff. Eventually
- 6:59Speaker 2: the ICE agents had to pull their guns out and
- 7:01Speaker 2: start shooting defensively. But where were the police. Why didn't
- 7:05Speaker 2: the police move in and protect them? Well, they were
- 7:08Speaker 2: ordered not to by the Mayor of Chicago, and we
- 7:11Speaker 2: think by JB. Pritzker that fat Ralph Cramden, governor. The
- 7:16Speaker 2: police were there, they could have stopped this. They could
- 7:20Speaker 2: have saved the ICE agents, but they were told not to.
- 7:23Speaker 2: We have the actual audio. Now, this is the police
- 7:27Speaker 2: are there. They want to move in and save the
- 7:29Speaker 2: ICE agents. Here's the actual audio. This is the dispatcher're
- 7:33Speaker 2: ordering them not to do it.
- 7:34Speaker 6: And again for the Chief of Patrol, we have all
- 7:39Speaker 6: the units. Chief of Patrol said, all units clear out
- 7:44Speaker 6: from there. We're not sending anybody over to that location.
- 7:48Speaker 6: Right and nine just took him from a thirty ninth
- 7:51Speaker 6: place in Kezzie. They were saying that they were being
- 7:54Speaker 6: surrounded by that large crowd and they were requesting the
- 7:58Speaker 6: police were not sending waving off all of the cars
- 8:01Speaker 6: having the thirty ninth place and cassy.
- 8:05Speaker 2: Per chief of police do not respond, let them get
- 8:10Speaker 2: shot at in that ambush. So the chief of police,
- 8:13Speaker 2: of course did not decide this on his own. The
- 8:16Speaker 2: mayor was behind him, and we assumed the governor that's
- 8:18Speaker 2: that fat slab Ralph Cramden, the governor of Illinois, Pritzker.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Here's what he had to say. We don't have a
- 8:25Speaker 2: lot of facts.
- 8:26Speaker 5: Remember, these are the same folks who killed a person,
- 8:31Speaker 5: unarmed person, just a couple of weeks ago in Franklin Park.
- 8:35Speaker 5: At first they said that the officer had been threatened
- 8:38Speaker 5: with his life. The reality of it and the truth
- 8:41Speaker 5: of it has now come out and that wasn't the case.
- 8:44Speaker 2: They killed somebody.
- 8:46Speaker 5: They are just putting out their propaganda and then we've
- 8:49Speaker 5: got it later determine what actually happened.
- 8:52Speaker 2: We already know what happened. We've got surveillance footage, we've
- 8:55Speaker 2: got witnesses. We absolutely know what happened. The ice car.
- 9:00Speaker 2: We're moving through Chicago. A group of violent, crazy left
- 9:04Speaker 2: wing democrats with ten cars surrounded them, boxed them in.
- 9:07Speaker 2: They had automatic weapons. We know this. This surveillance video.
- 9:12Speaker 2: Released the video. If you're gonna do that active we
- 9:16Speaker 2: don't have the facts, release the video. Let's see it. Hey,
- 9:19Speaker 2: you might not realize this, there's a government shutdown. I
- 9:21Speaker 2: don't think anybody notices, you know, even if you watch
- 9:24Speaker 2: the crazy left wing stations, like you know, if you
- 9:27Speaker 2: watch MSNBC, the shutdown is like story number twelve. It's
- 9:31Speaker 2: like twenty minutes into the hour they get to it.
- 9:33Speaker 2: And the problem is, you got Schumer, who's a ridiculous figure,
- 9:38Speaker 2: just the most ineffective leader in the world. Even John
- 9:40Speaker 2: Stewart last night calling him America's flat tire. He's like
- 9:43Speaker 2: just a bad flat tire. Speaking of flat, you got
- 9:46Speaker 2: this Haakim Jefferies, who looks like a robut who just
- 9:50Speaker 2: looks like a robut looks into the camera. He's all stiff,
- 9:53Speaker 2: and he's the worst spokesman. Either Leader Schumer or myself
- 9:57Speaker 2: have heard a wordministration about resolving this issue, making clear
- 10:03Speaker 2: to us that the White House wanted to shut the
- 10:05Speaker 2: government down. You could you got the uh I hate
- 10:10Speaker 2: to say, I hate to say continuing resolution CR, clean CR,
- 10:14Speaker 2: whatever the hell that is. You could do the extension.
- 10:16Speaker 2: I think it's a seven week extension. Just sign the
- 10:19Speaker 2: damn thing. But do you know what you don't want
- 10:21Speaker 2: to sign it? Don't sign it. Nobody notices this government shutdown. Uh,
- 10:26Speaker 2: some people say, hey, we just had a government shutdown
- 10:29Speaker 2: for four years. It was called the Biden administration. Oh,
- 10:32Speaker 2: mayoral race, Rudy Giuliani has endorsed Curtis Leewell officially endorsement
- 10:38Speaker 2: from Rudy Giuliani. Now his name, some will argue, well,
- 10:42Speaker 2: his name's a little tarnished right now. But you know,
- 10:44Speaker 2: whatever you think of Rudy Giuliani, he is the world expert,
- 10:50Speaker 2: the number one expert on earth on how to run
- 10:52Speaker 2: New York City. He's the greatest mayor in the history
- 10:54Speaker 2: of the world. Nobody knows more about how to be
- 10:58Speaker 2: mayor of New York than Rudy Giuliani. And he has
- 11:01Speaker 2: officially endorsed Curtis Sliwa. Now to counter that, Cuomo keeps
- 11:06Speaker 2: telling you how he keeps announcing these union into the
- 11:08Speaker 2: plumbers Union, the Electricians Union into who the hell cares
- 11:13Speaker 2: you know. If I wanted to know who's going to
- 11:16Speaker 2: be a good mayor, I would ask Rudy Giuliani. I
- 11:20Speaker 2: wouldn't call my electrician and say, what do you think?
- 11:22Speaker 2: Who should I vote for?
- 11:23Speaker 6: It?
- 11:24Speaker 2: If I needed a light switch fixed, I might ask him,
- 11:27Speaker 2: but not who to vote for for mayor. So big endorsement,
- 11:31Speaker 2: and the debate is a week from Thursday. It's next week,
- 11:34Speaker 2: next Thursday, the sixteenth. That's the debate. That's where Curtis
- 11:40Speaker 2: could turn things around. So you know, Amazon has now
- 11:45Speaker 2: bought the rights to all the James Bond movies. They
- 11:49Speaker 2: own all the James Vontems. They're putting them up on
- 11:51Speaker 2: Amazon so you can watch them, buy them, rent them, whatever.
- 11:55Speaker 2: But Amazon, you know everybody's got to get that Charlie
- 11:58Speaker 2: Gasprino book, Go Woke, Go Broke. You got to read
- 12:01Speaker 2: that book Amazon Going Woke. I'm not kidding you. You know,
- 12:05Speaker 2: every James Bond movie had a great poster, you know,
- 12:09Speaker 2: on the movie theaters or on the cover of the
- 12:12Speaker 2: DVD or whatever. They have the great posters with Bond. Well,
- 12:16Speaker 2: they all had a gun. He remember, he'd posed with
- 12:18Speaker 2: the gun in his hand. Amazon has removed the guns
- 12:21Speaker 2: from the posters, so it's Bond with no gun. The
- 12:26Speaker 2: whole movie is about Bond shooting people, killing people. He
- 12:30Speaker 2: has a license to kill. That's the whole idea of Bond.
- 12:34Speaker 2: But they've removed the gun from the posters. So here's
- 12:36Speaker 2: one where he's like this with the gun with his
- 12:38Speaker 2: hand up here, so that you got to put something there,
- 12:41Speaker 2: so it's just like him holding his fist up. It
- 12:43Speaker 2: just looks weird. It's absolutely insane. If you're that woke,
- 12:47Speaker 2: don't sell Bond films. I mean, that's what he does
- 12:51Speaker 2: in the films. He blows up buildings, he shoots people,
- 12:53Speaker 2: he drives the people off a cliff. It's a license
- 12:57Speaker 2: to kill, which has never been explained by By the way,
- 13:00Speaker 2: who exactly issues that license to kill? Did you know
- 13:04Speaker 2: that England could issue you a license to kill? You
- 13:07Speaker 2: can go anywhere in the world, kill anybody. Anybody says
- 13:10Speaker 2: a word, I got, I got a license to kill. Oh, okay,
- 13:13Speaker 2: go ahead. It's the crazies. The whole Bond thing never
- 13:16Speaker 2: made any sense. It's fascinating that people take it seriously.
- 13:20Speaker 2: It makes no sense. You know, he's supposed to be
- 13:22Speaker 2: a secret agent, top secret agent. Now you notice in
- 13:26Speaker 2: the film wherever he goes anywhere in the world. He
- 13:28Speaker 2: goes to Monte Carlo, he goes to Hong Kong. He
- 13:30Speaker 2: walks into any bar, any hotel, and behind the desk
- 13:34Speaker 2: the guy says, mister Bond, Oh, mister Bond, welcome. What
- 13:37Speaker 2: kind of secret agent is If every hotel clerk in
- 13:40Speaker 2: the world seems to know this guy, every casino guy
- 13:43Speaker 2: knows him, it's just a and you remember the way
- 13:47Speaker 2: he would order a drink when he'd order that martini, gos,
- 13:50Speaker 2: I'll have it shaken, not stirred. You know, nowadays you're
- 13:55Speaker 2: lucky if the waiter even comes back. If you think
- 13:57Speaker 2: he's going to get that right, shaken, not stir you're
- 14:00Speaker 2: a little crazy. Hey, Well, take some calls in a minute.
- 14:03Speaker 2: Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten is the number.
- 14:07Speaker 2: Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten. Set up
- 14:11Speaker 2: b said on the iHeartRadio app to wuor to hear
- 14:14Speaker 2: Mark live?
- 14:15Speaker 5: Set another for Mark's podcast to hear him anytime? Now
- 14:20Speaker 5: back to Mark Simon on wor.
- 14:25Speaker 2: Hey, let's take some calls. Eight hundred three two one
- 14:28Speaker 2: zero seven ten is the number eight hundred three two
- 14:31Speaker 2: one zero seven ten. Let's go to doctor Bob, a
- 14:35Speaker 2: great surgeon in Long Island. Doctor Bob, how you doing?
- 14:38Speaker 4: I'm good, Mark, how are you good. Let me tell
- 14:40Speaker 4: you this is great news with Rudy's endorsement of Curtis,
- 14:43Speaker 4: and I think it's the start of a new surge.
- 14:47Speaker 4: I'm hopeful that that Curtis has some really good debate
- 14:51Speaker 4: prep in mind, because I think it's going to turn
- 14:53Speaker 4: the tables on both his foes. I'd like to see
- 14:55Speaker 4: you as part of that debate prep. How can you
- 14:59Speaker 4: get involved with that?
- 15:00Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I talk to hers all the time and
- 15:02Speaker 2: he's good. Don't worry. He's got great people prepping him.
- 15:04Speaker 2: He's got really good people. Uh, the best economic people.
- 15:08Speaker 2: And remember he's a professional debater for thirty five years.
- 15:11Speaker 2: Uh and allmost of the world's worst debater. So you
- 15:15Speaker 2: do what's that beeping in the backgund What are you doing?
- 15:18Speaker 2: Surgery right now?
- 15:19Speaker 4: As a matter of fact, they're working on one of
- 15:21Speaker 4: the neighbor's properties nearby, so it's a matter of fact
- 15:24Speaker 4: the golf course. So it's not a little little noisy there.
- 15:27Speaker 2: Oh what golf course are you on?
- 15:30Speaker 6: Uh?
- 15:30Speaker 4: Success? Oh okay, we're doing to the holes and unbelievable job.
- 15:35Speaker 4: And this crew is sensational. They're dealing with the courses.
- 15:39Speaker 2: Out in the wait what are you talking about. You're
- 15:41Speaker 2: a surgeon and you fixed golf courses.
- 15:44Speaker 4: No, no, this is my time wolf.
- 15:46Speaker 2: Oh okay, a surgeon who cuts grass very surgically each
- 15:51Speaker 2: all right, thanks, thanks for calling. Let's go to uh
- 15:55Speaker 2: Sam and Staten Island. Sam.
- 15:56Speaker 7: How you doing, Hi, Mock, how are you good? All right?
- 16:01Speaker 1: Good?
- 16:01Speaker 7: Listen, Rudy. The Rudy endorsement is.
- 16:04Speaker 1: Huge and great.
- 16:05Speaker 2: I hate to break it to you now. It's now
- 16:06Speaker 2: twenty twenty five. It's huge with Republicans, but.
- 16:10Speaker 7: Not it's the guy had a rough couple of years.
- 16:14Speaker 7: But believe me, he was still the world the best
- 16:17Speaker 7: mayor in the city. Yeah, but I got a question.
- 16:21Speaker 7: Where was these guys like John Kasta, Mattid. He's been
- 16:24Speaker 7: throughout this whole.
- 16:24Speaker 2: Thing we're talking about. He's on the air every day.
- 16:26Speaker 2: He's publicist. Hey, hey, hey, hey, stop yelling. Calm down.
- 16:32Speaker 2: What the hell are you talking about? That guy? How
- 16:34Speaker 2: the guy is on the radio every day talking?
- 16:37Speaker 7: Okay, and is he endorsing the Curtis all the time.
- 16:41Speaker 2: I don't think he's endorsing anybody. Remember, he's got a
- 16:43Speaker 2: radio show, he owns a radio station. I think he
- 16:45Speaker 2: you know, he loves Curtis. Curtis is part of his
- 16:47Speaker 2: family there, but I don't think he's endorsing anybody publicly.
- 16:51Speaker 7: Yeah that's a shame.
- 16:53Speaker 2: Well, no, it's not a shame. I mean, you haven't
- 16:54Speaker 2: heard me endorse anybody. Obviously, I love Curtis, but I
- 16:57Speaker 2: don't officially endorse anybody. All right now, listen, Sam, Yeah,
- 17:03Speaker 2: you got to get control of yourself. You know, one
- 17:05Speaker 2: of these guys calls up yelling and screaming, and then
- 17:08Speaker 2: you get the facts later. You gotta get you gotta
- 17:11Speaker 2: know what you're talking about first before the yelling.
- 17:14Speaker 7: Oh really, yeah, I'll practice that before I again.
- 17:18Speaker 2: Okay, thank you. See, some people don't really care. They're
- 17:26Speaker 2: not they're not that they're actually not that interested. If
- 17:30Speaker 2: you said, here's a four hundred page position paper to
- 17:34Speaker 2: explain the whole thing to you, they're not going to
- 17:36Speaker 2: They don't worry the one. I mean, they just like
- 17:37Speaker 2: to yell and scream and carry on. It's like it's
- 17:41Speaker 2: like sports fans in a bar. They don't want to
- 17:43Speaker 2: really study the game that they just want to go.
- 17:45Speaker 2: Now the Jets are gonna win. Now, the Giants are
- 17:47Speaker 2: gonna win. Now the Jets are gonna win. So where's
- 17:50Speaker 2: all the calls. We don't have any calls. I never
- 17:52Speaker 2: heard this happen before, Is it me? There's no calls
- 17:56Speaker 2: all of a sudden, I've never ever seen that happen.
- 17:59Speaker 2: Oh hey, by the way, Chief Shell, great, the NYPD,
- 18:03Speaker 2: Chief John Shell. You see him all over television. You
- 18:06Speaker 2: know the face. He was like the face of the
- 18:08Speaker 2: NYPD there for a couple of years. But retiring. We
- 18:11Speaker 2: wish him well and everybody will miss him. Hey, great news.
- 18:17Speaker 2: President Trump on truth social and it's posted all over Twitter.
- 18:22Speaker 2: Really went after Al Sharpton yesterday, Great news, and he
- 18:26Speaker 2: put up a picture remember the old Al Sharpton with
- 18:28Speaker 2: the jogging suit when he was big fat Al Sharpton
- 18:31Speaker 2: with the big medallions around his neck and the jogging suit.
- 18:34Speaker 2: He put up one of those pictures and pointed out
- 18:37Speaker 2: that Sharpton was a close friend. He loved me. He
- 18:41Speaker 2: loved me for years. He begged me to come to
- 18:44Speaker 2: all of his fake rallies and I did a number
- 18:46Speaker 2: of times just to help him draw a crowd. And
- 18:48Speaker 2: he goes on and you got to go read it.
- 18:50Speaker 2: It's really great. Then he points out at some point
- 18:54Speaker 2: Sharpton ran into Brian Roberts, who owned Comcasts, the big, big,
- 18:58Speaker 2: mega corporation that was buying NBC, And when they were
- 19:03Speaker 2: buying NBC they needed help with the FCC. Sharped and helped.
- 19:06Speaker 2: He went and testified on behalf of Comcast to their
- 19:10Speaker 2: great racial hiring policies, all that kind of stuff, and
- 19:14Speaker 2: apparently was promised a TV show in return. That's why
- 19:18Speaker 2: he has an MSNBC TV show, Trump pointing out it's
- 19:21Speaker 2: the lowest rated show in the history of television. But
- 19:24Speaker 2: they're afraid to fire him and that's why he's still there. Oh,
- 19:27Speaker 2: here we go. Let's go to Bob in Montvale, New Jersey. Bob,
- 19:30Speaker 2: how you doing good?
- 19:32Speaker 8: How are you marked that taking my call? Just wondering
- 19:35Speaker 8: what vendor say you? The vendor gave up, like the
- 19:40Speaker 8: rights to have them tap into senators like phone calls,
- 19:44Speaker 8: and under what pretense.
- 19:46Speaker 2: Oh well, if you're a special counsel, special prosecutor, Department
- 19:50Speaker 2: of Justice and you show up at the phone company,
- 19:52Speaker 2: they'll turn over the records you show up. You know
- 19:55Speaker 2: that Jack Smith could go to some left wing kook
- 19:58Speaker 2: DC judge get a warrant. What are you gonna do?
- 20:00Speaker 2: If you're the phone company, you're not going to fight
- 20:02Speaker 2: with the Justice Department. You turn it over.
- 20:04Speaker 1: That's it.
- 20:05Speaker 7: Uh.
- 20:06Speaker 2: Hey, when we come back, Roger Friedman, The Great Entertainment Reporter,
- 20:09Speaker 2: we got to talk about this Taylor Swift. I mean,
- 20:11Speaker 2: forget the singing, the songwriting, all that great, but this
- 20:15Speaker 2: woman is a hell of a marketer, a hell of
- 20:17Speaker 2: a businesswoman. She's figured out every angle. We'll get to
- 20:20Speaker 2: that next. On seven to ten, w R blogged.
- 20:24Speaker 6: Into Everything New York.
- 20:26Speaker 1: I'm the Voice of New York, Mark.
- 20:28Speaker 6: Simon on sevent Tenor.
- 20:32Speaker 2: Well, Roger Friedman The Great Entertainment Reporter is a website.
- 20:35Speaker 2: You should check it every day. There's always new stuff
- 20:37Speaker 2: up there. Showbiz for one one dot com, Showbiz for
- 20:41Speaker 2: one one dot com. Roger Friedman, how you doing?
- 20:45Speaker 1: I'm okay? Are you? Have you been talking politics this morning?
- 20:49Speaker 6: No?
- 20:49Speaker 2: We never talked politics.
- 20:51Speaker 1: Well, Mark, who you're voting for? From there? Oh?
- 20:56Speaker 2: I love that? Mom, Donnie, He's great, don't you think
- 20:59Speaker 2: you know?
- 21:01Speaker 1: I just have to say before we get into a
- 21:02Speaker 1: conversation about Hollywood, which I want to do because I
- 21:05Speaker 1: saw a great movie last night. Everyone's gonna love this.
- 21:10Speaker 1: Cannot go on with Mom, Donnie. And you know his
- 21:13Speaker 1: mother is a film director and she's a wonderful person.
- 21:16Speaker 1: Let me tell you. I know her, and she's a
- 21:18Speaker 1: great lady. But this is not acceptable. And I'm voting
- 21:23Speaker 1: for Andrew Cuomo despite all of his baggage. And I
- 21:28Speaker 1: just wanted to say to the Year listeners. I'm going
- 21:30Speaker 1: to say this four more times this month to make
- 21:32Speaker 1: sure everyone knows. Please vote for Andrew Cuomo. Okay, I'm
- 21:38Speaker 1: not going to vote for Curtis, but I like him
- 21:40Speaker 1: a lot.
- 21:40Speaker 2: Okay, I like him.
- 21:42Speaker 1: I like his spirit.
- 21:43Speaker 2: This mom, Donnie mother, the filmmaker. She seem to a
- 21:46Speaker 2: great person, but how successful I'm not familiar with her
- 21:50Speaker 2: film I mean, she's a n year.
- 21:51Speaker 1: Oh she made a Monsoon wedding. She's made great movies. Oh,
- 21:57Speaker 1: The Namesake is a movie I adore. She's a great filmmaker.
- 22:01Speaker 1: And if you met her and you would say she's
- 22:04Speaker 1: a fabulous person. She's not anti Semitics, she's not any
- 22:07Speaker 1: of these things. But regardless of how much I love
- 22:11Speaker 1: the mother, I just have to say, the Sun really
- 22:14Speaker 1: should find another job.
- 22:15Speaker 2: All right, Well, okay, they sound like great films, they're
- 22:18Speaker 2: not Casino or good fellows, but they sound like good.
- 22:20Speaker 1: No, she made she's made great films, and she's and
- 22:23Speaker 1: she's very well liked and everyone should be nice to her.
- 22:27Speaker 2: And well, you know, we'll work on that.
- 22:29Speaker 1: And I'm glad that her son wants a job. But
- 22:31Speaker 1: this isn't really We're going to go a different way,
- 22:34Speaker 1: all right.
- 22:34Speaker 2: Hey, but let's talk about something more important. Taylor Swift.
- 22:38Speaker 2: How success? My god, how successful was this album in numbers?
- 22:41Speaker 2: In actual metrics?
- 22:43Speaker 1: Okay, so they're saying that she sold they're saying that
- 22:46Speaker 1: she's going to sell through Friday three million albums or
- 22:49Speaker 1: maybe more, maybe four million. A lot of that is
- 22:52Speaker 1: from streaming. It's not from CBS, although a lot will
- 22:55Speaker 1: be from CBS. LPs cassettes.
- 22:58Speaker 2: Wait wait, wait, and you can buy us. I didn't
- 23:00Speaker 2: even know they still existed.
- 23:02Speaker 1: Oh well you can. People buy CBS all the time.
- 23:05Speaker 1: And in fact they're popular. Again I heard and LT's
- 23:08Speaker 1: are popular. And for some reason, Taylor Sworft sells cassettes.
- 23:12Speaker 1: I have no idea what people play them on. But
- 23:16Speaker 1: so she sold a lot of records then on Apple,
- 23:19Speaker 1: on iTunes. She's made it so that the album can
- 23:22Speaker 1: only be bought in whole. You cannot buy a single
- 23:25Speaker 1: from it, it's only the whole album. And now she's
- 23:28Speaker 1: made the whole album four ninety nine because she wants
- 23:31Speaker 1: to break records so that you know, people will buy
- 23:35Speaker 1: so many copies of four ninety nine regular iTunes download
- 23:41Speaker 1: is like eleven ninety nine. So they're doing every they're
- 23:45Speaker 1: bending over backwards to get break records. Here Adele with
- 23:50Speaker 1: her twenty five album in twenty fifteen, she sold I
- 23:54Speaker 1: think three point four million, so they're trying to break
- 23:56Speaker 1: that record and they'll do anything they can.
- 23:59Speaker 2: To do it. Did she also release like an extended
- 24:02Speaker 2: album with all sorts of extra stuff.
- 24:04Speaker 1: Yeah, she's got four more CDs that you can buy
- 24:07Speaker 1: in addition to this that are eight dollars apiece, and
- 24:11Speaker 1: they would add on to the sales. They keep looking
- 24:14Speaker 1: every day they add on some new thing to build.
- 24:17Speaker 1: These teenage girls, I have to say, they deserve to
- 24:20Speaker 1: be at the Wharton School of Business or at Harvard MBA.
- 24:24Speaker 1: They should be studying Taylor Swift's marketing. It is absolutely genius.
- 24:29Speaker 1: Well your right of thing I have. The negative thing
- 24:33Speaker 1: I have to say about Taylor Swift is that several
- 24:36Speaker 1: of the songs sound like other people's songs, and the
- 24:41Speaker 1: fans immediately discovered this on Friday when the album came out.
- 24:45Speaker 1: And one of the songs is the title song of
- 24:48Speaker 1: the album is called The Life of a Showgirl, is
- 24:50Speaker 1: a direct ripoff of a Jonas Brothers song called Cool.
- 24:53Speaker 1: You listen to it and you think, well, how does
- 24:55Speaker 1: she get away with this? I don't know. I don't
- 24:57Speaker 1: know how she's going to get away with it, but
- 25:00Speaker 1: it's very weird. The whole thing with this album seems
- 25:04Speaker 1: to be more about having success with it than making
- 25:08Speaker 1: it a good album, you know what I mean.
- 25:10Speaker 2: Yeah, Now, she's also got everything else, sweaters, mittens, t shirts, right,
- 25:15Speaker 2: merchandise like crazy.
- 25:16Speaker 1: Oh yeah, she's very big on sweaters. You can buy
- 25:18Speaker 1: a Taylor Swift cardigan. It says it's emblazoned with the
- 25:22Speaker 1: letters TS on it. I guess you could say it's
- 25:24Speaker 1: Times Square. I don't know. I mean, she's selling everything
- 25:29Speaker 1: on her website, anything that isn't nailed down as being
- 25:31Speaker 1: sold for Taylor Swift. And you try to imagine that
- 25:36Speaker 1: back in our heyday, that Joni Mitchell or Carol Ken
- 25:39Speaker 1: or Carly Simon would do didn't do anything like this.
- 25:43Speaker 1: They just put out records that have lasted fifty years.
- 25:46Speaker 1: But they didn't you know that. You couldn't buy key
- 25:49Speaker 1: chains or anything else that I know of, So it's
- 25:52Speaker 1: very strange the whole thing.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Yeah, but a question was a different world then. All
- 25:56Speaker 2: you had was radio and TV. It didn't have the Internet,
- 25:58Speaker 2: you didn't have special any of that.
- 26:00Speaker 1: That's true.
- 26:01Speaker 2: So, Hey, a lot of controversy over Bad Bunny, but
- 26:04Speaker 2: you know, I watched him on Saturday Night Live. He's
- 26:07Speaker 2: kind of a charming, charming guy, that Bad Bunny.
- 26:09Speaker 1: He's very charming. He's very charming, and he has a
- 26:12Speaker 1: lot of fun. He'll make a great super Bowl show.
- 26:15Speaker 1: He's going to make a great show. I don't know what.
- 26:18Speaker 1: I don't know why people got so excited about.
- 26:20Speaker 2: Because he said horrible things about political stuff, but.
- 26:23Speaker 1: Well he didn't. He doesn't want to tour the country
- 26:25Speaker 1: because he doesn't want his fans to be arrested during
- 26:27Speaker 1: the shows. Yeah, but a legitimate concern. But but he
- 26:33Speaker 1: is Puerto Rican, and you know Puerto Ricans are actually American.
- 26:36Speaker 2: You're kidding, Oh my god, no, did you know?
- 26:40Speaker 1: Now?
- 26:41Speaker 2: Just thing was my Oh, but how big is he.
- 26:45Speaker 2: I mean, I've I've heard of him, I've heard his music.
- 26:48Speaker 2: But for the super Bowl, aren't you supposed to be
- 26:50Speaker 2: like Michael Jackson Taylor Swift kind of big?
- 26:52Speaker 1: Oh he's already sold. He put out an album last January.
- 26:56Speaker 1: It's sold almost three million copies since then. Okay, this,
- 27:01Speaker 1: that's just that album altogether this year of twenty twenty five,
- 27:05Speaker 1: and it's only October or whatever it is. Seventh he
- 27:08Speaker 1: sold about five million records this year. So he's hugely popular.
- 27:14Speaker 1: And he just in Puerto Rico. He just did this,
- 27:17Speaker 1: you know, thirty day residency in one of their you know,
- 27:20Speaker 1: spectacular show places. People from the States were flying there
- 27:25Speaker 1: to see it.
- 27:26Speaker 2: Huh.
- 27:26Speaker 1: So it was sold out every night. Oh yeah, it
- 27:29Speaker 1: was like the hot ticket was going to Puerto Rico
- 27:31Speaker 1: to see Bad Bunny. So you know, he's going to
- 27:34Speaker 1: have a great super Bowl show. Everyone should be happy
- 27:36Speaker 1: with him when he does it. They're all going to say, like,
- 27:39Speaker 1: like you remember when Ricky Martin did the Grammys twenty
- 27:42Speaker 1: years ago. He did with a LaVita Loca, and people
- 27:45Speaker 1: were like, who is this guy? Everyone fall in love
- 27:48Speaker 1: with him. That's what Bad Bunny will be like. On
- 27:50Speaker 1: the Super Bowl.
- 27:50Speaker 2: Yeah, it's pretty good. You know, you go back, you
- 27:51Speaker 2: look at the original Super Bowl. The halftime was like
- 27:55Speaker 2: Anty Williams or people.
- 27:57Speaker 1: Yes, let's not knock Andy Williams. He was a great guy.
- 28:04Speaker 1: He was a lovely guy. Now, last night I went
- 28:06Speaker 1: to this movie at the New York Film Festival. It
- 28:09Speaker 1: was the surprise screening of the festival. Except by the
- 28:12Speaker 1: time you got there there was no secret. Even the
- 28:15Speaker 1: I said, even the hot dog vendors knew what was
- 28:17Speaker 1: going on. But the place was packed. And it was
- 28:19Speaker 1: for a new movie starring Timothy Tallome. And the movie
- 28:24Speaker 1: is called Marty Supreme.
- 28:25Speaker 2: Oh yeah, it's about Marty Reesman. I actually knew the guy.
- 28:29Speaker 1: Did you know him very well? Yeah, you knew him.
- 28:33Speaker 2: Yeah, it's about Marto player what he was, the world
- 28:37Speaker 2: champion ping pong player of all time? Yes, And Marty
- 28:42Speaker 2: Supreme is the movie, and it's gonna debut in Christmas Day,
- 28:45Speaker 2: I think, But what was.
- 28:46Speaker 1: How good here? It's fabulous. It's an A plus movie.
- 28:49Speaker 1: It's four stars, it's everything. It was so great. It's
- 28:53Speaker 1: such exciting filmmaking by Josh Safty and Tallome is going
- 28:57Speaker 1: to probably get the Oscar for Best Actor. H was
- 29:01Speaker 1: the was the real guy, a fast talker, like a
- 29:03Speaker 1: Damon Runyon kind of characters.
- 29:05Speaker 2: A real Damon Runyon captain. He talked like this and
- 29:07Speaker 2: he was Yeah, that was him.
- 29:10Speaker 1: Well, he's got it. He's Timothy Challome is twenty nine
- 29:13Speaker 1: years old. He'll be thirty in December. He has nailed
- 29:16Speaker 1: this thing down. And I'm telling you it's so exciting
- 29:21Speaker 1: and everyone in the cast is great. I'll tell your
- 29:23Speaker 1: friend Dresher plays his mother, which is really funny. She's terrific.
- 29:27Speaker 1: Santra Bernhardt's and oh, two of your friends.
- 29:29Speaker 7: Are in it.
- 29:30Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, John Catsimatidas.
- 29:33Speaker 2: And you know why John is in terrific?
- 29:35Speaker 1: No, why did he know him too?
- 29:37Speaker 2: Yeah, in real life he was actually his landlord. He
- 29:40Speaker 2: owned the building where Marty's.
- 29:41Speaker 1: Had his Uh wow, they didn't tell us this last
- 29:45Speaker 1: night because we only saw the movie. But John Cassimatidas,
- 29:49Speaker 1: who looks great on screen by the way, he's he
- 29:53Speaker 1: should be doing character acting in every movie. Yeah, he's fabulous.
- 29:56Speaker 1: And Kevin O'Leary from Shark Tank, Yeah, has a big
- 30:00Speaker 1: part in the movie, and he's terrific. He really holds
- 30:04Speaker 1: his own he's really played a nasty guy. He's married
- 30:07Speaker 1: in the movie to Gwyneth Paltrow, who plays sort of
- 30:11Speaker 1: a has been movie star, and he's the rich guy
- 30:14Speaker 1: who married her and now she can't get away from him.
- 30:17Speaker 1: And it's a subplot in the movie. It's very good.
- 30:20Speaker 1: And there's a new girl in there whose name is
- 30:23Speaker 1: Odessa as Ion, who's going to get a nomination for
- 30:26Speaker 1: Best Supporting afters. She's terrific. So the movie is going
- 30:30Speaker 1: to be spectacular. But I'm so impressed that two knew him.
- 30:32Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I'll in fact, we get off. I'll send
- 30:34Speaker 2: you some pictures to me and him, Marty Supreme. His
- 30:36Speaker 2: real name was Marty Reesman. And so you would say
- 30:42Speaker 2: next year this could be one of the biggest films
- 30:44Speaker 2: of the year.
- 30:45Speaker 1: Yes, you know. Right now we have one battle after
- 30:48Speaker 1: another with Leonardo DiCaprio and Sean pan which is really
- 30:51Speaker 1: sort of on the fast track for the Best Picture.
- 30:54Speaker 1: But this one is going to give it a lot
- 30:56Speaker 1: of trouble. This that we're going to have a real
- 30:58Speaker 1: race in March for the Oscars. Well, great's gonna be great.
- 31:02Speaker 2: Great stuff. We're out of time, but everybody go check
