- 0:00Speaker 1: Chapter seventy six, The twelve Windows and their portals, And
- 0:04Speaker 1: at the ends of the Earth, I saw twelve portals
- 0:07Speaker 1: open to all the quarters of the heaven, from which
- 0:09Speaker 1: the winds go forth and blow over the earth. Three
- 0:12Speaker 1: of them are open on the face, in other words,
- 0:15Speaker 1: the east of the heavens, and three in the west,
- 0:18Speaker 1: and three on the right, in other words, the south
- 0:20Speaker 1: of the heaven, and three on the left, in otherwards
- 0:23Speaker 1: the north. And the three first are those of the east,
- 0:27Speaker 1: and three are of the north, and three after those
- 0:30Speaker 1: on the left of the south, and three of the west.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Through four of these come winds of blessing and prosperity,
- 0:38Speaker 1: and from those eight come hurtful winds. When they are sent,
- 0:43Speaker 1: they bring destruction on all the earth and on the
- 0:45Speaker 1: water upon it, and on all who dwell thereon, and
- 0:49Speaker 1: on everything which is in the water, and on the land.
- 0:53Speaker 1: And the first wind from those portals, called the east wind,
- 0:56Speaker 1: comes forth through the first portal, which is in the east,
- 1:00Speaker 1: inclining towards the south. From it come forth desolation, drought, heat,
- 1:06Speaker 1: and destruction. And through the second portal in the middle
- 1:10Speaker 1: comes what is fitting, and from it there come rain
- 1:13Speaker 1: and fruitfulness, and prosperity and dew, And through the third portal,
- 1:17Speaker 1: which lies toward the north, come cold and drought. And
- 1:21Speaker 1: after these come forth the south winds through three portals.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Through the first portal of them inclining to the east,
- 1:29Speaker 1: comes forth a hot wind, and through the middle portal
- 1:33Speaker 1: next to it there come forth fragrant smells and dew
- 1:36Speaker 1: and rain and prosperity in health. And through the third portal,
- 1:41Speaker 1: lying to the west, come forth dew and rain, locusts
- 1:45Speaker 1: and desolation. And after these the north winds. From the
- 1:49Speaker 1: seventh portal in the east come dew and rain, locusts
- 1:53Speaker 1: and desolation, and from the middle portal come in a
- 1:56Speaker 1: direct direction health and rain and dew and p prosperity.
- 2:01Speaker 1: And through the third portal in the west come cloud
- 2:04Speaker 1: and hoar, frost and snow, and rain and dew in locusts.
- 2:09Speaker 1: And after these four are the west winds. Through the
- 2:12Speaker 1: first portal adjoining the north, come forth dew and hoarfrost
- 2:16Speaker 1: and cold and snow and frost. And from the middle
- 2:20Speaker 1: portal come forth dew and rain and prosperity and blessing.
- 2:24Speaker 1: And through the last portal, which adjoins the south, come
- 2:27Speaker 1: forth drought and desolation, and burning in destruction. And the
- 2:32Speaker 1: twelve portals of the four quarters of the heaven are
- 2:35Speaker 1: therewith complete it. And all their laws, and all their plagues,
- 2:39Speaker 1: and all their benefactions have I shown to thee my
- 2:42Speaker 1: son Methuselah, Chapter seventy seven. The four quarters of the world,
- 2:47Speaker 1: the seven mountains, the seven rivers, and so on, Chapter
- 2:51Speaker 1: seventy seven. And the first quarter is called the East
- 2:55Speaker 1: because it is the first, and the second the South,
- 2:59Speaker 1: because the most high will descend there. Yea there in
- 3:02Speaker 1: quite a special sense, will he who is blessed forever descend.
- 3:07Speaker 1: And the west quarter is named the diminished, because there
- 3:10Speaker 1: all the luminaries of the heaven wain and go down.
- 3:14Speaker 1: And the fourth quarter, named the North, is divided into
- 3:18Speaker 1: three parts. The first of them is for the dwelling
- 3:21Speaker 1: of men, and the second contain seas of water, and
- 3:25Speaker 1: the abysses and forests and rivers, and darkness and clouds,
- 3:30Speaker 1: and the third part contains the Garden of righteousness. I
- 3:34Speaker 1: saw seven high mountains, higher than all the mountains which
- 3:37Speaker 1: are on the earth, And thence comes forth hoarfrost, and days,
- 3:42Speaker 1: seasons and years pass away. I saw seven rivers on
- 3:46Speaker 1: the Earth larger than all the rivers. One of them,
- 3:49Speaker 1: coming from the west, pours its waters into the Great Sea.
- 3:53Speaker 1: And these too come from the north to the sea,
- 3:56Speaker 1: and pour their waters into the Erythrian Sea in the east.
- 4:00Speaker 1: And the remaining four come forth on the side of
- 4:03Speaker 1: the North to their own sea, two of them to
- 4:06Speaker 1: the Erythrian Sea, and two into the Great Sea, and
- 4:09Speaker 1: discharge themselves there, And some say into the desert. Seven
- 4:14Speaker 1: great islands I saw in the sea and in the mainland,
- 4:18Speaker 1: two in the mainland, and five in the Great Sea,
- 4:21Speaker 1: Chapter seventy seven. The Sun and Moon the waxing and
- 4:26Speaker 1: waning of the Moon Chapter seventy seven. And the names
- 4:30Speaker 1: of the Sun are the following, the first or Jahres,
- 4:35Speaker 1: and the second Thomas. And the Moon has four names.
- 4:40Speaker 1: The first name is Nja, the second Ibra, the third Bonasse,
- 4:46Speaker 1: and the fourth Irae. These are the two great luminaries.
- 4:50Speaker 1: Their circumference is like the circumference of the heaven, and
- 4:54Speaker 1: the size of the circumference of both is alike. In
- 4:57Speaker 1: the circumference of the Sun, the there are seven portions
- 5:01Speaker 1: of light which are added to it more than to
- 5:03Speaker 1: the Moon, and in definite measures, it is transferred to
- 5:07Speaker 1: the seventh portion of the sun is exhausted, and they
- 5:11Speaker 1: set and enter the portals of the west, and make
- 5:14Speaker 1: their revolution by the north, and come forth through the
- 5:17Speaker 1: eastern portals on the face of the heaven. And when
- 5:21Speaker 1: the moon rises, one fourteenth part appears in the heaven
- 5:25Speaker 1: the light becomes full in her. On the fourteenth day
- 5:29Speaker 1: she accomplishes her light, and fifteen parts of light are
- 5:32Speaker 1: transferred to her, till the fifteenth day, when her light
- 5:35Speaker 1: is accomplished according to the sign of the year, and
- 5:39Speaker 1: she becomes fifteen parts, and the moon grows by the
- 5:42Speaker 1: addition of fourteenth parts, and in her waning, the moon
- 5:46Speaker 1: decreases on the first day to fourteen parts of her light,
- 5:50Speaker 1: on the second to thirteen parts of light on the
- 5:53Speaker 1: third to twelve, on the fourth to eleven, on the
- 5:57Speaker 1: fifth to ten, on the sixth to day, nine, on
- 6:01Speaker 1: the seventh to eight, on the eighth to seven, on
- 6:04Speaker 1: the ninth to six, on the tenth to five, on
- 6:08Speaker 1: the eleventh to four, on the twelfth to three, on
- 6:12Speaker 1: the thirteenth to two, on the fourteenth to the half
- 6:16Speaker 1: of a seventh and all her remaining light disappears wholly
- 6:19Speaker 1: on the fifteenth, and in certain months the month has
- 6:24Speaker 1: twenty nine days, and once twenty eight. And Uriel showed
- 6:29Speaker 1: me another law. When the light is transferred to the moon,
- 6:32Speaker 1: and on which side it is transferred to her by
- 6:35Speaker 1: the sun. During all the period during which the moon
- 6:38Speaker 1: is growing in her light, she is transferring it to herself,
- 6:41Speaker 1: when the opposite to the sun. During the fourteen days,
- 6:45Speaker 1: her light is accomplished in the heaven, and when she
- 6:47Speaker 1: is illumined throughout, her light is accomplished full in the heaven.
- 6:52Speaker 1: And on the first day she is called the new moon,
- 6:55Speaker 1: for on that day the light rises upon her, she
- 6:58Speaker 1: becomes full moon. And exactly on the day when the
- 7:01Speaker 1: sun sets in the west and from the east, she
- 7:04Speaker 1: rises at night, and the moon shines the whole night
- 7:07Speaker 1: through till the sun rises over against her, and the
- 7:10Speaker 1: moon is seen over against the sun on the side.
- 7:13Speaker 1: Whence the light of the moon comes forth. There again
- 7:16Speaker 1: she wanes till all the light vanishes, and all the
- 7:19Speaker 1: days of the month are at an end, and her
- 7:22Speaker 1: circumference is empty, void of light. And three months she
- 7:26Speaker 1: makes of thirty days, and at her time she makes
- 7:29Speaker 1: three months of twenty nine days each in which she
- 7:32Speaker 1: accomplishes her waning in the first period of time, and
- 7:36Speaker 1: in the first portal for one hundred and seventy seven days,
- 7:40Speaker 1: and in the time of her going out she appears
- 7:42Speaker 1: for three months of thirty days each and for three
- 7:46Speaker 1: months she appears of twenty nine each. At night she
- 7:50Speaker 1: appears like a man for twenty days each time. And
- 7:53Speaker 1: by day she appears like the heaven. And there is
- 7:57Speaker 1: nothing else in her save her light. Chapter seventy nine
- 8:02Speaker 1: to eighty. Recapitulation of several of the laws, Chapter seventy nine.
- 8:08Speaker 1: And now, my son, I have shown thee everything, and
- 8:11Speaker 1: the law of all the stars of the heaven is completed.
- 8:14Speaker 1: And he showed me all the laws of these for
- 8:16Speaker 1: every day and for every season of bearing rule, and
- 8:20Speaker 1: for every year and for its going forth, and for
- 8:23Speaker 1: the order prescribed to it every month and every week,
- 8:27Speaker 1: and the waning of the moon, which takes place in
- 8:29Speaker 1: the sixth portal. For in this sixth portal her light
- 8:33Speaker 1: is accomplished. And after that there is the beginning of
- 8:36Speaker 1: the waning, and the waning which takes place in the
- 8:40Speaker 1: first portal in its season till one hundred and seventy
- 8:43Speaker 1: seven days are accomplished reckoned according to weeks twenty five
- 8:48Speaker 1: weeks and two days. She falls behind the sun and
- 8:52Speaker 1: the order of the stars exactly five days in the
- 8:54Speaker 1: course of one period. And when this place which thou
- 8:58Speaker 1: seest has been traversed, such is the picture and sketch
- 9:02Speaker 1: of every luminary which ur Reel. The archangel, who is
- 9:06Speaker 1: their leader, showed unto me Chapter eighty. And in those
- 9:11Speaker 1: days the angel Uriel answered and said to me, behold,
- 9:14Speaker 1: I have shown thee everything, Enoch, and I have revealed
- 9:18Speaker 1: everything to THEE that thou shouldst see this Sun and
- 9:21Speaker 1: this moon, and the leaders of the stars of the heaven,
- 9:24Speaker 1: and all those who turn them their tasks and times
- 9:28Speaker 1: and departures. Chapter eighty, verses two through eight perversion of
- 9:33Speaker 1: nature and the heavenly bodies, owing to the sin of men,
- 9:37Speaker 1: And in the days of the sinners, the years shall
- 9:39Speaker 1: be shortened, and their seeds shall be tardy on their
- 9:42Speaker 1: lands and fields, and all things on the earth shall
- 9:46Speaker 1: alter and shall not appear in their time, and the
- 9:49Speaker 1: rain shall be kept back, and the heaven shall withhold it.
- 9:53Speaker 1: And in those times the fruits of the earth shall
- 9:55Speaker 1: be backward and shall not grow in their time, and
- 9:58Speaker 1: the fruits of the trees shall be withheld in their time.
- 10:02Speaker 1: And the moon shall alter her order and not appear
- 10:05Speaker 1: at her time. And in those days the sun shall
- 10:08Speaker 1: be seen, and he shall journey in the evening on
- 10:11Speaker 1: the extremity of the great chariot in the west, and
- 10:14Speaker 1: shall shine more brightly than accords with the order of light.
- 10:19Speaker 1: And many chiefs of the stars shall transgress the order prescribed,
- 10:23Speaker 1: and these shall alter their orbits and tasks, and not
- 10:26Speaker 1: appear at the seasons prescribed to them. And the whole
- 10:30Speaker 1: order of the stars shall be concealed from the sinners,
- 10:34Speaker 1: and the thoughts of those on the earth shall err
- 10:36Speaker 1: concerning them, and they shall be altered from all their ways. Yea,
- 10:40Speaker 1: they shall err and take them to be gods, and
- 10:44Speaker 1: evil shall be multiplied upon them, and punishment shall come
- 10:47Speaker 1: upon them, so as to destroy all. Chapter eighty one,
- 10:51Speaker 1: The heavenly Tablets and the mission of Enoch. Chapter eighty one.
- 10:56Speaker 1: And he said, unto me, observe Enoch these heavenly tablets,
- 11:01Speaker 1: and read what is written thereon, and mark every individual fact.
- 11:05Speaker 1: And I observed the heavenly tablets and read everything which
- 11:08Speaker 1: was written thereon. And understood everything, and read the book
- 11:12Speaker 1: of all the deeds of mankind, and of all the
- 11:14Speaker 1: children of flesh that shall be upon the earth, to
- 11:17Speaker 1: the remotest generations. And forthwith I blessed the Great Lord,
- 11:22Speaker 1: the King of Glory forever, in that he has made
- 11:25Speaker 1: all the works of the world. And I have stoled
- 11:27Speaker 1: the Lord because of his patience, and blessed him because
- 11:30Speaker 1: of the children of men. And after that, I said,
- 11:34Speaker 1: blessed is a man who dies in righteousness and goodness,
- 11:37Speaker 1: concerning whom there is no book of unrighteousness written, and
- 11:41Speaker 1: against whom no day of judgment shall be found. And
- 11:44Speaker 1: those seven Holy Ones brought me and placed me on
- 11:47Speaker 1: the earth before the door of my house, and said
- 11:49Speaker 1: to me, declare everything to thy son, Methuselah, and show
- 11:53Speaker 1: to all thy children that no flesh is righteous in
- 11:56Speaker 1: the sight of the Lord, for he is their creator. One.
- 12:00Speaker 1: We will leave THEE with thy son, till thou givest
- 12:03Speaker 1: thy last commands, that thou mayst teach thy children and
- 12:06Speaker 1: record it for them, and testify to all thy children.
- 12:09Speaker 1: And in the second year they shall take THEE from
- 12:12Speaker 1: their midst. Let thy heart be strong, for the good
- 12:16Speaker 1: shall announce righteousness to the good. The righteous with the
- 12:19Speaker 1: righteous shall rejoice and shall offer congratulation to one another.
- 12:24Speaker 1: But the sinners shall die with the sinners, and the
- 12:26Speaker 1: apostate go down with the apostate. And those who practice
- 12:31Speaker 1: righteousness shall die on account of the deeds of men,
- 12:33Speaker 1: and be taken away on account of the doings of
- 12:36Speaker 1: the godless. And in those days they ceased to speak
- 12:40Speaker 1: to me, and I came to my people blessing the
- 12:42Speaker 1: Lord of the world. Chapter eighty two, charge given to Enoch,
- 12:47Speaker 1: the four inter calorie days, the stars which lead the
- 12:51Speaker 1: seasons in the months, Chapter eighty two. And now, my son, Methuselah,
- 12:58Speaker 1: all these things I am recounting to THEE in writing
- 13:00Speaker 1: down for THEE. And I have revealed to THEE everything
- 13:04Speaker 1: and given THEE books concerning all these. So preserve, my son, Methuselah,
- 13:09Speaker 1: the books from thy father's hand, and see that thou
- 13:12Speaker 1: deliver them to the generations of the world. I have
- 13:16Speaker 1: given wisdom to THEE and to thy children, and thy
- 13:19Speaker 1: children that shall be to THEE, that they may give
- 13:22Speaker 1: it to their children for generations. This wisdom, namely that
- 13:26Speaker 1: passeth their thought. And those who understand it shall not sleep,
- 13:31Speaker 1: but shall listen with the ear, that they may learn
- 13:33Speaker 1: this wisdom. And it shall please those that eat thereof
- 13:37Speaker 1: better than good food. Blessed are all the righteous. Blessed
- 13:42Speaker 1: are all those who walk in the way of righteousness,
- 13:44Speaker 1: and sin not as the sinners. In the reckoning of
- 13:47Speaker 1: all their days, in which the sun traverses the heaven,
- 13:50Speaker 1: entering into and departing from the portals for thirty days
- 13:54Speaker 1: with the heads of thousands of the order of the stars,
- 13:58Speaker 1: together with the four which are intercalated, which divide the
- 14:02Speaker 1: four portions of the year, which lead them, and enter
- 14:05Speaker 1: with them four days. Owing to them, men shall be
- 14:09Speaker 1: at fault and not reckon them in the whole reckoning
- 14:12Speaker 1: of the year. Yea, men shall be at fault and
- 14:15Speaker 1: not recognize them accurately, for they belong to the reckoning
- 14:19Speaker 1: of the year, and are truly recorded thereon forever, one
- 14:23Speaker 1: in the first portal, and one in the third, and
- 14:26Speaker 1: one in the fourth, and one in the sixth. And
- 14:29Speaker 1: the year is completed in three hundred and sixty four days.
- 14:34Speaker 1: And the account thereof is accurate, and the recorded reckoning
- 14:38Speaker 1: thereof exact. For the luminaries and months and festivals, and
- 14:42Speaker 1: years and days has Uriel shown and revealed to me
- 14:46Speaker 1: to whom the Lord of the whole creation of the
- 14:48Speaker 1: world hath subjected the host of heaven. And he has
- 14:53Speaker 1: power over night and day in the heaven to cause
- 14:56Speaker 1: the light to give light to men, sun, moon, and star,
- 15:00Speaker 1: and all the powers of the heaven which revolve in
- 15:03Speaker 1: their circular chariots. And these are the orders of the
- 15:06Speaker 1: stars which set in their places, and in their seasons
- 15:10Speaker 1: and festivals and months. And these are the names of
- 15:13Speaker 1: those who lead them, who watch that they enter at
- 15:16Speaker 1: their times, in their orders, in their seasons, in their months,
- 15:21Speaker 1: in their periods of dominion, and in their positions. They
- 15:25Speaker 1: are four leaders who divide the four parts of the
- 15:27Speaker 1: year enter first, and after them the twelve leaders of
- 15:31Speaker 1: the orders who divide the months. And for the three
- 15:35Speaker 1: hundred and sixty days, there are heads over thousands who
- 15:38Speaker 1: divide the days. And for the four intercalorie days, there
- 15:43Speaker 1: are the leaders which sunder the four parts of the year.
- 15:47Speaker 1: And these heads over thousands are intercalated between leader and leader,
- 15:52Speaker 1: each behind a station, but their leaders make the division.
- 15:56Speaker 1: And these are the names of the leaders who divide
- 15:58Speaker 1: the four parts of the year, which are ordained Milkhayel
- 16:03Speaker 1: Haalemelech and Melaschal and narrow, and the names of those
- 16:08Speaker 1: who lead them ad Naral i yasusa Al and ilome Al.
- 16:14Speaker 1: These three follow the leaders of the orders, and there
- 16:17Speaker 1: is one that follows the three leaders of the orders,
- 16:20Speaker 1: which follow those leaders of stations that divide the four
- 16:23Speaker 1: parts of the year. In the beginning of the year,
- 16:26Speaker 1: Melkayoo rises first and rules, who is named Tamanian Sun.
- 16:32Speaker 1: And all the days of his dominion whilst he bears
- 16:34Speaker 1: rule are ninety one days. And these are the signs
- 16:38Speaker 1: of the days which are to be seen on earth
- 16:40Speaker 1: in the days of his dominion, sweat and heat and calms,
- 16:46Speaker 1: and all the trees bear fruit, and leaves are produced
- 16:49Speaker 1: on all the trees, and the harvest of wheat, and
- 16:52Speaker 1: the rose flowers, and all the flowers which come forth
- 16:55Speaker 1: in the field. But the trees of the winter season
- 16:58Speaker 1: become withered. And these are the names of the leaders
- 17:02Speaker 1: which are under them, berkha El Zalebzel, and another who
- 17:07Speaker 1: is added a head of a thousand, called Heluyasef. And
- 17:10Speaker 1: the days of the dominion of this leader are at
- 17:13Speaker 1: an end. The next leader after him is Hellimelech, whom
- 17:18Speaker 1: one names the shining Sun. And all the days of
- 17:21Speaker 1: his light are ninety one days. And these are the
- 17:24Speaker 1: signs of his days on the earth, glowing heat and dryness,
- 17:29Speaker 1: and the trees ripen their fruits and produce all their
- 17:31Speaker 1: fruits ripe and ready, and the sheep pear and become pregnant,
- 17:36Speaker 1: and all the fruits of the earth are gathered in,
- 17:38Speaker 1: and everything that is in the fields and the wine press.
- 17:42Speaker 1: These things take place in the days of his dominion.
- 17:45Speaker 1: These are the names and the orders in the leaders
- 17:47Speaker 1: of those heads of thousands Gida y yaal k El
- 17:52Speaker 1: and Hail, and the name of the head of a thousand,
- 17:56Speaker 1: which is added to them Asphael. And the days of
- 17:59Speaker 1: his life dominion are at an end end of Section eleven.
