- 0:12Hello friends. It's short here, and welcome to
- 0:16another day with a chapter A Day.
- 0:18Bible reading you have swiped tapped thought.
- 0:23See, read Al exid, Whatever you've done.
- 0:27You have started playing and it is great that you and I are
- 0:31going to read another chapter today.
- 0:32I hope you going really well, we are in the thick of plague land
- 0:39and there has been a bunch of of Conversation Over the years
- 0:43about with these actually things that God did or were they just
- 0:48naturally occurring events. You know, that is really a bit
- 0:52of a moot point that is US kind of applying our modern view on
- 0:56the world onto this very ancient story back in the time that this
- 1:01was written in a time that this happened, everything was
- 1:03considered an act of God. They had a really theological
- 1:07worldview and so every time anything happened, they believe
- 1:10that it was Thing that was being communicated to them by the
- 1:13gods. So, when these plagues happened,
- 1:17whether it was miraculous or whether it was natural, however,
- 1:21it was, it was seen very, very clearly as God stepping in and
- 1:27creating these things to happen. So don't let your mind get
- 1:31bogged down with silly scientific questions.
- 1:33Not that science has silly. But in the context of this
- 1:36story, this is long before science as a discipline thought
- 1:40in this way. So let us send our minds back to
- 1:44think about the world in terms of God, is at the heart of
- 1:47everything as you. And I listen, read take part in
- 1:53Exodus, chapter 8, Then the Lord said to Moses, go
- 2:08back to pharaoh and announce to him.
- 2:11This is what the Lord says. Let my people go so they can
- 2:15worship me. If you refuse to let them go, I
- 2:19will send a plague of frogs across your entire land.
- 2:23The Nile River will swarm with frogs, they will come up out of
- 2:27the river and into your palaces, even into your bedroom and onto
- 2:31your bed. They will enter the houses of
- 2:33your official. Send your people, they will even
- 2:36jump into your ovens and you are needing bowls frogs, will jump
- 2:41on you, your people and all your officials.
- 2:44And the Lord said to Moses, tell Aaron, raise the staff in your
- 2:49hand over all the rivers, canals and ponds of Egypt and bring up
- 2:54frogs over all the land. So, Aaron raised his hand, over
- 2:59the Waters of Egypt and frogs came up and covered the whole
- 3:03land. But the magician's were able to
- 3:06do the same thing with their magic, they to caused frogs to
- 3:09come up on the land of Egypt. Then Pharaoh summoned, Moses and
- 3:14Aaron and begged pleaded with the Lord, to take the frogs away
- 3:17from me. And my people, I will let your
- 3:20people go. So they can offer sacrifices to
- 3:22the Lord you set the time. Moses replied, tell me when you
- 3:27want me to pray for. You your officials and your
- 3:29people, then you and your houses will be rid of the frogs.
- 3:34They will remain only in the Nile River.
- 3:37Do it tomorrow? Pharaoh said, all right, Moses
- 3:41replied. It will be as you have said,
- 3:45then you will know that, there is no one like the Lord.
- 3:48Our God, the frogs will leave you, and your houses, your
- 3:52officials and your people, they will remain only in the Nile
- 3:55River. So, Moses and Aaron left,
- 3:58Pharaoh's Palace and Moses cried out to the Lord about the frogs.
- 4:02He had inflicted on pharaoh. Errol and the Lord did, just
- 4:06what Moses had predicted, the frogs in the houses, the
- 4:10courtyards and the fields all died, the Egyptians pile them
- 4:14into great heaps and a terrible stench, filled the land.
- 4:18But when Pharaoh saw that relief had come, he became a stubborn.
- 4:23He refused to listen to Moses and Aaron just as the Lord had
- 4:27predicted. So the Lord said to Moses, tell
- 4:31Aaron, raise your staff and strike the ground that dust will
- 4:36turn into swarms of gnats throughout the land of Egypt.
- 4:40So, Moses and Aaron did just as the Lord had commanded them.
- 4:44When Aaron raised his hand, and struck the ground, with his
- 4:47staff Nats, infested the entire land, covering the Egyptians and
- 4:53their animals, all the Dust In the Land of Egypt turned into
- 4:57nuts. Rose magicians, tried to do the
- 5:00same thing with their secret Arts but this time they failed
- 5:04and the Nats covered everyone, people and animals alike This is
- 5:10the Finger of God, The Magicians, exclaimed to Pharaoh,
- 5:14but Pharaoh's heart remained hard.
- 5:16He wouldn't listen to them just as the Lord had predicted, then
- 5:21the Lord told Moses. Get up early in the morning and
- 5:24stand and Pharaohs way as it goes down to the river.
- 5:28Say to him, this is what the Lord says.
- 5:31Let my people go so they can worship me.
- 5:36If you refuse, then I will send swarms of flies.
- 5:39Flies on you, your officials, your people, and all the houses.
- 5:43The Egyptian homes will be filled with flies and the ground
- 5:47will be covered with them but this time I will spare the
- 5:51region of Goshen where my people live.
- 5:54No flies will be found there. Then you will know that I am the
- 5:58Lord and that I am present even in the heart of your land.
- 6:03I will make a clear distinction between my people and your
- 6:06people, this miraculous sign. Happen tomorrow.
- 6:11And the Lord did just, as he had said, a thick swarm of flies
- 6:17filled Pharaoh's, Palace and the houses of his officials.
- 6:21The whole land of Egypt was thrown into chaos by the Flies,
- 6:26Pharaoh called the Moses and Aaron.
- 6:28All right, go ahead and offer sacrifices to your God, he said,
- 6:32but do it here in this land but Moses replied.
- 6:37That wouldn't be right. The Egyptians detest the
- 6:40sacrifices. That we offer to the Lord, our
- 6:42god look, if we offer our sacrifices here, where the
- 6:47Egyptians can see us, they will Stone us.
- 6:51We must make a three-day trip Into the Wilderness to offer
- 6:54sacrifices to the Lord, Our God, just as he has commanded us.
- 6:59All right. Go ahead, Ferrer replied.
- 7:02I will let you go into the Wilderness to offer sacrifices
- 7:06to the Lord, your God, but don't go too far now.
- 7:10Now, hurry. And Pray for me.
- 7:12Moses answered. As soon as I leave you, I will
- 7:16pray to the Lord and tomorrow the swarm of flies will
- 7:20disappear from you and your officials and all your people.
- 7:24But I am warning, you Pharaoh, don't lie to us again and
- 7:28refused to let the people go to sacrifice to the Lord.
- 7:33So, Moses left, Pharaoh's Palace, and pleaded with the
- 7:36Lord, to remove all the Flies and the Lord did as Moses asked.
- 7:41And cause the Swarms of flies to disappear, from Pharaoh, his
- 7:46officials, and his people, not a single fly remained, but
- 7:51Pharaoh, again, became stubborn and refused to let the people
- 7:56go. Lord be with us today, no matter
- 8:09what our day holds Nats frogs or flies, or blessing or a
- 8:16combination of those things. Most likely lead us guide us.
- 8:21Hold Us. Fill us with your presence.
- 8:25So that we can go out into our Wilderness and worship.
