- 1:30Hey everyone, it's your girl e s see book out A four three
- 1:34patree scrumble. Yes, I'm here on another night, because you know,
- 1:40I got a new author. So you guys, this author here. I
- 1:45spent my afternoon reading her book. She just things in this book that had
- 1:52me going back and rereading pages because I'm thinking, what in the who?
- 1:57Why? M just come on? A author often the cold jay. She
- 2:04has this book. Y'all, Come on girl, come on after, come
- 2:07on after, see you have You're gonna have to answer some questions here tonight.
- 2:13Okay, how are you doing, sweetheart? Fine? My phone and
- 2:23you got everything going on? Well, we will be talking to you tonight
- 2:30about your book. And so first, tell us a little bit about yourself.
- 2:38Oh goodness. I'm from Middleville, the area Hawkinsville, Georgia. I
- 2:43grew up just being a normal country girl, fishing, playing out in the
- 2:49road, being hard hit, just everything. I live, listening to music.
- 2:53I'm a wild card. I love hanging out with friends. I love
- 2:58making people laugh. I little cook Yeah, h cooking? Yeah? What's
- 3:02for done of tomorrow? Red beans and ride and some fried fish. She
- 3:09said, look, you keep the red beans, but give me the fry
- 3:13First, I thought you want to say some oks. Oh I'm want some
- 3:16offstairs. Don't know how bad? Want some offs? You know, this
- 3:27wasn't that hard a couple of years ago until he started doing it on TV.
- 3:31And now you gotta spine the officer. You can get dogs tails cheaper
- 3:36now. But anyway, you have this book and me and you were talking
- 3:44before you got online. You wrote this book seven years ago, and reading
- 3:53this book and it feels like you just wrote it. I do not see
- 4:00age in this book. Some books you read you could tell author wrote it
- 4:03a long time ago. This book does not have age. The title itself
- 4:11had me and I had to reread the title a couple of times. So
- 4:15it's called tear Drops and lip Prints on my Tattoo. Yes, So you
- 4:24guys, I am in the process of reading this book and I finally saw
- 4:30that in the book. You got to tell me how did you come up
- 4:34with this title? When I first wrote it, I was around my cousin
- 4:42at that time, and she stayed up all night and I was like,
- 4:44oh my god. When I'm a calling, she was like, I don't
- 4:46know, listen to some music. So you know I love august Alsina and
- 4:50that song came out. I was like, yep, that's I want to
- 4:53call it. Okay from a song? Yeah, I would have never thought
- 5:00that I was waiting for. You can see that this character did this,
- 5:04this character did that. But yeah, okay, so I've read a little
- 5:14bit and my girl z and this Zaia you said she's going through some things.
- 5:21So she tell us about how you came up with this character like her.
- 5:31I had a friend before, uh she did she committed suicide and she
- 5:39was going through like similar things in her in her life like that. And
- 5:44I was like, if I ever write a story, because I always told
- 5:46her I was gonna write because I used to write when I was in school
- 5:48and stuff. So she was like, this name the character my middle name,
- 5:53and I promised her that. So when I did think about this book,
- 5:57I used her middle name. Oh no, it's so sweet. That's
- 6:00sweet. God bless her, God bless her. This this character did go
- 6:06through a lot. Oh yeah, I am so sugarcoat in this book.
- 6:13Okay, you know what I tried, and I was trying to keep it
- 6:17to myself. I'm sorry I can't, so y'all, let me let me
- 6:24give y'all a little background. She gonna help me out. I'm just gonna
- 6:27go through the first chapter, the first the first chapter, so we got
- 6:31Zi, and we got Sean. So Zi and Sean they love, but
- 6:40Zi got some issues. So when she coming in the book, she already
- 6:43running you guys. Okay, now tell me if I'm right. Sean and
- 6:53Zi love each other. But then there is Michael. Michael loves Sean.
- 7:05Yes, but Zi is pregnant for Michael. Yes, I said, as
- 7:13Z is pregnant for Michael, and Michael loves Sean, and Michael and Sean
- 7:19I've been together. So y'all put all the elements together, all of them.
- 7:27Okay, Well stop that book being crazy. This book is past crazy.
- 7:35Y'all should see me. I'm putting up here, getting ready to come
- 7:39on you guys, and I'm sitting up here speed literally setting up a speed
- 7:43reading because I want to figure out what's gonna happen. So how did you?
- 7:46How did you? Because I can't even talk right now, you know,
- 7:50the book could have got me tongue twisted? How did you keep all
- 7:55the characters in line? In my head? I was like, I never
- 8:03did a story outline ever, because like when I type up stuff, I'm
- 8:07just like, okay, this is what happened, that, what happened.
- 8:09This is the person that's the person. I'm just gonna keep going with it.
- 8:11So that was my main thing. I'm good at keeping up or whatever
- 8:16I allows left outfit, so I was just like, let me go create
- 8:20them. So you you don't use character outlines. I know a lot of
- 8:24people use those, and I kind of feel like that that constricts you to
- 8:30this this bubble for that character. And the fact that you don't use that,
- 8:33the character can really go wherever you warn him or her, or in
- 8:39this case them to go. You know what I'm saying. I don't want
- 8:48to give all the book away. I really don't want to. So let's
- 8:52go back. What was your highlight of writing this book? What I think
- 9:00ain't just when I was going through it and thinking about it. I think
- 9:03the ending will really caught me by surprise because I didn't know what. I
- 9:07wanted to keep it down because I did like these different endings, but my
- 9:09cousins like keep down right there. So it was mainly the characters. Ia
- 9:15wh y'all, what all she went through and how she had to fight in
- 9:18for her to find out the truth, and the twisting turns he just had
- 9:22her so in a chaotic mind state. Yeah, because the truth of finding
- 9:30out that this person is related to this person, which means this person is
- 9:35also related to this person, and this person having a baby with this person
- 9:39and this person who ain't this But it was all a cluster, you know
- 9:43what. People, But it, as you say, this does happen in
- 9:52the US. A lot of people do not know their whole families. And
- 9:58like I was telling her, I was dating a guy. He said the
- 10:01same last name. I've had the same last name. He said the same
- 10:05last name, as in being related to them. Oh, it was nice
- 10:11knowing your brother. Like why can't yeah, Like why we can't talk because
- 10:18we got too many factors in common? Yeah, last name, Yeah,
- 10:22and all of them match. So that's it. So did you get any
- 10:26backlash because of that? Like, did any because we talked about the reviews,
- 10:33did any review talk badly? It was it was I think because the
- 10:41publisher actually called me when I was at working. He was like, hey,
- 10:45do you know this person? Because they tried to they contacted Amazon.
- 10:50It was like, need to take the book down because it wasn't hers,
- 10:54And then they wrote me a bad review. So when I looked at the
- 10:58Arthur page, I'm like, you Arthur just like me. But this is
- 11:01the same Arthur that from the other Arthur's had trouble with like and I didn't
- 11:05know that Arthur's paid other Arthurs or other people that read a book read bad
- 11:09review. So I actually got into this area. So it's a dirty game
- 11:15that just like I always think, you stop, nothing was out. I
- 11:18never had the ghost writer. I never had to pay people to do anything
- 11:22because if I'm gonna write a book, my book gonna be my book.
- 11:24There you go. And I, like we talked before, there was a
- 11:28point in time when Amazon, because that's when Amazon really came up at that
- 11:33rule at if they can't see if you purchase the book, you won't be
- 11:37able to put a review on the book. And if if I'm not mistaken,
- 11:41if you're following the author on Facebook and it shows up on good Reads,
- 11:48I think they kind of hold back your review for all a while.
- 11:52But I do remember that era happening, and I'm sorry that that happened to
- 11:56you, because this book right head, Yeah, they need to get they
- 12:01need to stop that, right, you know, they don't never stop making
- 12:05it, don't how they say that trade gone phone. I'm sorry, At
- 12:13what point did you decide that you wanted to put this book out there and
- 12:18you wanted to become an author. What point did you decide to do that?
- 12:24Not the first time I was signed to this publisher being and at the
- 12:31time it taught me, you know, different publishers. I guess they call
- 12:35them hybrid publishers, where it's they authors, but they had their own publishing
- 12:39company with other authors upunder there. And it was like, if I had
- 12:45to do my own editing book cover promotion and you, I'm upunding you.
- 12:50You just put your name on the book and my ring gonna work like that.
- 12:54And I just didn't like the app years of how they were. It
- 12:58wasn't really like a fair city. So I wound up just leaving like I'm
- 13:03not going to do it, and I stopped for the remainder of them years,
- 13:07and I started doing everything else, but I always came back to,
- 13:11hey, I need to really publish this book because I really want to read
- 13:16and I want to be an artist. So I finally did it this year.
- 13:20So this everything else, what all else shoe got going on? I
- 13:24know we talked about some things, but go ahead and get us a little
- 13:26fold run down. I am also I have a business as a doula,
- 13:33and I also have a spiritual practice and a coaching practice. Okay, okay,
- 13:39So that coaching isn't like life coaching career coaching. It falls in life
- 13:46coaching. But I mainly target the mist of violence and suicide awareness as well
- 13:52as trying to help a lot of black girl here because you know, we
- 13:56don't know we have a space being created for us, and it's kind of
- 14:00hard for another black woman to appreciate another black woman. We always meant each
- 14:05other, So I don't mean so many women that just listen to their story
- 14:09is like my life when they are better theirs and they need somebody to talk
- 14:15to. And I also went through losing somebody for suicide you know, and
- 14:20stuff, and it do take a toll on you. I have someone for
- 14:28you to connect with. Okay, Okay, y'all can make some collaborations.
- 14:35Matter of fact, her name is a queen of collaboration and a lot of
- 14:37the things you just hit on she actually talks about. She has a platform.
- 14:43Also, I think what you are talking about, what her what she's
- 14:48talking about. Hey, that's that's choice of forces and how I say,
- 14:52make it do what it do. Okay, Yeah, I'm we're gonna make
- 14:56some emails happen. Okay, So we take a break real quick and we're
- 15:01gonna come back. We're gonna talk more about this book. There's getting me
- 15:07travel when I'm trying to read it and tak the yarlet at the same time.
- 15:11But you guys are gonna take a commercial break and we're coming right back.

- 16:53budet you wash my heart day so foil say, turn on that girl.
- 17:25I wanna give you a special treat. You're so sweet. Turn on it.
- 17:36Hey, everyone, we are back, We are back. I know
- 17:38she was looking at me like this girl is a dancing and singing through the
- 17:41book. That's my song, That's my song. I can't help it every
- 17:45time I heard. But I kind of now hit Tyler Harry in my head.
- 17:51How you're talking about you know how they it's stunned. You know I
- 17:55wouldn't. How do you promote your book? I know you said you had
- 18:03to do all your marketing and everything. How do you promote your book?
- 18:06Oh my god, it's me being new. I do Facebook, TikTok,
- 18:11Instagram and word of mouth. Oh, word of mouth. A lot of
- 18:15people don't do that nowadays, a lot of I have a friend of mine
- 18:22by the name of Keith. He actually goes out and take pictures when people
- 18:29buy their books. He take pictures and uses them as advertising purposes. So
- 18:34it's been a while since I've heard somebody say word now, and I'm glad
- 18:40that you're not only relying on social media because some people are stepping away from
- 18:45social media for a while. So I like that does does the marketing take
- 18:52a lot of time? Take up so much time? To me? How
- 18:56did you fit it in your schedule? If let's say I'm a new author
- 19:00and I'm like, okay, let's just taking too much. How would you
- 19:03tell them to create a marketing strategy? I said, if they can help
- 19:10it, If they weren't do it during break when they get out work,
- 19:14at least do it from an hour either thirty minutes and that's how I did
- 19:18it every day, or either if I wake up early in the morning,
- 19:23I'm putting on there early in the morning, so I try to find a
- 19:27way. Thank you, thank you, thank you, because there's some people
- 19:30like me who can't sleep through the night. So I'm before walk in the
- 19:34morning screenshotting books that I plan on reading or authors I would want to reach
- 19:40out to you. So I appreciate you doing that and understanding that social media
- 19:45is not just nine to five, that there are people up at eleven,
- 19:47two, four, and three a m. In the morning, so thank
- 19:51you for doing that, really, thank you. I always do fun questions.
- 20:00I'm reading all right now? So you said music, you love music?
- 20:06Okay, now this is all script. If you can collaborate with three
- 20:12artists to write a book, who would they be? And block artists?
- 20:27Oh my any I like Chris Brown, Chris Brown? Okay, I love
- 20:36Chris Brown. Okay, Chris Brown. M M. I was at Sena
- 20:45and I can see christ Who Tank? I love Tank? Okay, Tank
- 20:55Tank. So we got to we we got the fellas of r and B.
- 20:57Okay? Who else do we have? M Cardi b because he regic
- 21:06I used a rashnist. That would be jahs character. I can see that
- 21:17being Carly b. Okay, that's a mixture to the type of Chris Man
- 21:22Callie breekank. What would the title that book be? Shog the spice and
- 21:30everything not nice of me? What a soul of money? I call it
- 21:34it? Oh, look at you came off the top of your head,
- 21:42girl, girl. So if you could be mentor because you said you're a
- 21:49reader, So if you could be mentored by one of your favorite authors,
- 21:52who would it be? And why what are your clark? I'm going on

- 22:07week. I love with your Clark. I love everybody else su Zane and
- 22:11Air Drone, Dicky Lord, Blessed Dad, Coon At Jarvis, But what
- 22:17your Clark is. I like the way she could be so diverse and write
- 22:23anything and bring anything that she right into a foolish like she is really a
- 22:29true ghat. And then just looking at her and following her and how she's
- 22:33just so humble and what you need to talk about her life and her stories.
- 22:37It's like, yeah, I want to be I want to meet her.
- 22:41She even got a book by the man that has COVID and the title
- 22:45and it's a blue cover and I just discovered that like a couple of weeks
