- 1:20Speaker 1: Today is day fifteen of our visibility Challenge. I am
- 1:25Speaker 1: going to be showcasing Rooted Child, which is a book
- 1:31Speaker 1: by Leshe Ruckman. So welcome, Welcome, Welcome, today fifteen of
- 1:37Speaker 1: our twenty one day journey to brand visibility. Today we're
- 1:40Speaker 1: shining a spotlight own poet Lche Ruckman and her powerful
- 1:45Speaker 1: new collection Rooted Child. In this live today you will
- 1:50Speaker 1: not only learn about this amazing book, but you will
- 1:54Speaker 1: also discover how marketing is a life blood. It's the
- 1:59Speaker 1: lifeblood of author's success. And we're going to complete it
- 2:05Speaker 1: with some actionable tips that you can share on today.
- 2:10Speaker 1: You can share it with somebody else because I'm sure
- 2:12Speaker 1: you know some more authors. So I want you to
- 2:15Speaker 1: know the importance of a marketing for every author. Before
- 2:20Speaker 1: we jump into Lache's book, let's take a moment to
- 2:23Speaker 1: talk about something every author should be thinking about when
- 2:27Speaker 1: it comes to marketing. I know writing the book is
- 2:37Speaker 1: an accomplishment, so hats out to everyone that is a
- 2:41Speaker 1: published author. Hats off to you. Congratulations, congratulations, congratulations. But
- 2:47Speaker 1: in a world of Bremen, a world of Bremen with
- 2:50Speaker 1: stories and poetry, how will your work stand out? That's
- 2:53Speaker 1: the most important thing. How will your work stand out?
- 2:58Speaker 1: How will your work stand out? To day? Marketing is
- 3:01Speaker 1: the bridge between creation and connection. It helps you reach
- 3:05Speaker 1: the idea reader, build lasting relationships, and turn your passion
- 3:10Speaker 1: into profit. We all want profit. We all want profit.
- 3:14Speaker 1: But are we doing the things that we need to
- 3:16Speaker 1: do so that we can get profit? That's the most
- 3:18Speaker 1: important thing. Are we doing the things that we need
- 3:21Speaker 1: to do to get profit? We want profit? But what
- 3:25Speaker 1: are we doing without a strategical Without a strategic approach
- 3:31Speaker 1: to sharing your work, even the most heartfel poetry can
- 3:35Speaker 1: go onknose, even the most I'm talking about, the most
- 3:41Speaker 1: elaborate whatever, whatever you're writing about. It can be the
- 3:45Speaker 1: best of the best, but it can go unnoticed. That's
- 3:49Speaker 1: why consistency and creative marketing is essential for every author.
- 3:55Speaker 1: I'm gonna drop some nuggets. We're gonna drop some nuggets.
- 3:57Speaker 1: I'm not gonna be before y'all long. I told you, ILL
- 3:59Speaker 1: don't come to stay long. I just come to bring it.
- 4:01Speaker 1: I come to drop it and keep on going. So
- 4:04Speaker 1: here's three things that you can do every week to
- 4:06Speaker 1: grow your reach every week. You got to do this
- 4:10Speaker 1: every week. Can't do it one week and stop, but
- 4:12Speaker 1: you got to do it every week until you reach
- 4:14Speaker 1: your goal. Until you reach your goal. I'm gonna say,
- 4:16Speaker 1: do it consistently until you reach your goal. I can't
- 4:19Speaker 1: tell you when it's gonna work, but just continue to
- 4:21Speaker 1: do it until you reach your goal. So here's the
- 4:24Speaker 1: three things. One Number one. Engage on social media. Post poems, quotes,
- 4:31Speaker 1: writing updates or behind the scenes photos on all your platforms.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Respond to comments, join in discussion. You can't just put
- 4:39Speaker 1: it out there and leave it. You gotta engage. Importance
- 4:42Speaker 1: of engaging. We're building relationships, y'all, We're connecting. People want
- 4:47Speaker 1: to know who you are. They could care less about
- 4:49Speaker 1: this for real, they're gonna buy it to support you,
- 4:52Speaker 1: but they want to know who you are. So you
- 4:54Speaker 1: got to engage in your social media posts. Email list y'all,
- 5:00Speaker 1: send out a weekly newslater with updates, special promotion, and
- 5:04Speaker 1: sneak peek at your new writing. So how can you
- 5:06Speaker 1: do that? I've been telling y'all. Go over check out
- 5:09Speaker 1: somes that. It is a free platform that allows you
- 5:12Speaker 1: to send out newsletter, it allows you to have a podcast,
- 5:15Speaker 1: it allows you to utilize a lot of things over
- 5:18Speaker 1: there in one area, and it's free. Collaborate and cross promote,
- 5:25Speaker 1: partner with other authors, y'all. You're not on this You're
- 5:28Speaker 1: not on this journey by yourself. We are here to
- 5:32Speaker 1: support each other. So join book clubs, arrange virtual readings
- 5:38Speaker 1: to tap into different audience. A lot of y'all are
- 5:41Speaker 1: on social media. A lot of y'all are right here
- 5:43Speaker 1: on TikTok, a lot of y'all are right here on Facebook.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Outside of just jumping in those groups and just posting
- 5:49Speaker 1: and just leaving your stuff there, engage, learn how to
- 5:53Speaker 1: use your own live go live and talk about your stuff. Y'all,
- 5:58Speaker 1: it's yours. You got the look. When you show interest
- 6:01Speaker 1: in yourself in what you're doing, other people will too.
- 6:04Speaker 1: But if you're not doing anything, why should they do
- 6:07Speaker 1: anything to support you? So learn to collaborate and not
- 6:13Speaker 1: this one sided collaboration that I'm seeing with a lot
- 6:15Speaker 1: of people. They want you to collaborate with them so
- 6:18Speaker 1: that they can get something out of the deal, But
- 6:20Speaker 1: you're not getting nothing out of day there. So it
- 6:22Speaker 1: is all about collaborating. That means everybody taking something away
- 6:26Speaker 1: from it. So collaborate, cross promote. There's three things that
- 6:34Speaker 1: you can do on a daily basis. Y'all told you
- 6:36Speaker 1: I was gonna move quick. Those were the three things. Again,
- 6:39Speaker 1: I'm gonna, okay, before I move to the three things
- 6:41Speaker 1: you can do daily, I'm gonna I'm gonna recap the
- 6:44Speaker 1: weekly weekly engagement social media go on their engage emails
- 6:49Speaker 1: and out of a weekly email newsletter. If you are
- 6:53Speaker 1: not familiar with substance, shoot and box me. I'll give
- 6:56Speaker 1: you the I'll give you the links so you can

- 7:05Speaker 1: our podcasts over there, y'all since I've started using it
- 7:08Speaker 1: in April, and we hear what April, May, June, July.

- 7:16Speaker 1: over six thousand downloads on our podcast. May not be
- 7:21Speaker 1: a lot to y'all, but it's a lot for us.
- 7:23Speaker 1: We only been over there three months, so it's an
- 7:25Speaker 1: opportunity to utilize a free platform. Free you got to
- 7:29Speaker 1: pay nothing, but it can't pay you if you utilize
- 7:32Speaker 1: it right, so go check it out. Three effortless daily
- 7:39Speaker 1: marketing moves Again, I'm gonna repeat three effortless. That means
- 7:43Speaker 1: you ain't got to put much effort in it. Effortless
- 7:46Speaker 1: daily marketing moves even on your busiest days and little
- 7:51Speaker 1: goals and long way. I know a lot of us
- 7:53Speaker 1: we make excuses about all. We don't have time for this,
- 7:56Speaker 1: We don't have time for this. I gotta do schoolwork,
- 7:58Speaker 1: I gotta do this, I gotta do that, just like
- 8:00Speaker 1: you gotta do it. I gotta do it too. So
- 8:02Speaker 1: know that we all are busy. But it's the little things.
- 8:05Speaker 1: It's the little things and effortless, effortless daily marketing moves.
- 8:12Speaker 1: Share your short excerts, post a favorite line or stanza
- 8:16Speaker 1: from your book on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Blue Sky, substack,
- 8:23Speaker 1: wherever else you may utilize, y'all, these are opportunities to
- 8:26Speaker 1: share your stuff. Consistency pays off. Consistency is key. Comment
- 8:32Speaker 1: and connect, y'all. Five minutes. Take five minutes to comment
- 8:36Speaker 1: on another office post or respond to a reader's message.
- 8:41Speaker 1: Five minutes a day, y'all. Five minutes. That's all it takes.
- 8:45Speaker 1: And then thank your community publicly for reading your books
- 8:49Speaker 1: and all your supporters. Gratitude bills, loyalty and ads authenticy. So, y'all,
- 8:56Speaker 1: these are three effortless daily things that you can we
- 9:00Speaker 1: grit up every morning, just like you're scrolling through when
- 9:02Speaker 1: you're scrolling through being nosy, because that's what a lot
- 9:04Speaker 1: of us do. We jump on here, we see what
- 9:06Speaker 1: everybody is doing while we scrolling through. Before you start
- 9:08Speaker 1: seeing what everybody else is doing, take five minutes to
- 9:11Speaker 1: focus on you. Take five minutes to post a short excerpt,
- 9:15Speaker 1: and then y'all, if to be honest, if you want
- 9:18Speaker 1: to go, set aside one day. Set aside one day
- 9:22Speaker 1: and work on creating posts and stuff that you can
- 9:26Speaker 1: set up to a timer that you can set up
- 9:28Speaker 1: and then it would automatically post if you're on Facebook,
- 9:31Speaker 1: if you're on I think Instagram may have it. Don't
- 9:34Speaker 1: know if TikTok have scheduled posts, but if they do,
- 9:37Speaker 1: y'all take time and set up scheduled posts so that
- 9:41Speaker 1: they can post even when you not. I know on Facebook,
- 9:44Speaker 1: I'm on Facebook and a lot of my groups I
- 9:46Speaker 1: have stuff that is constantly being posted constantly on a
- 9:50Speaker 1: twenty four hour rotation. Every day something is being posted. Y'all.
- 9:54Speaker 1: We got to learn how to utilize what we got
- 9:57Speaker 1: without spending a whole lot because we know everybody out
- 9:59Speaker 1: here trying to trying to make a living, and a
- 10:01Speaker 1: lot of people want to take advantage of the people
- 10:04Speaker 1: that's looking for visibility. They want to charge you to
- 10:08Speaker 1: be on these speaking platforms. They want to charge you
- 10:11Speaker 1: for this, charge you for that, charge you for that.
- 10:12Speaker 1: But when they charging you, are you able to make
- 10:15Speaker 1: money back from what they're charging you for? Because everything
- 10:18Speaker 1: I charge for, you're able to make money back for.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Not going to charge you from something if you cannot
- 10:23Speaker 1: make money back from it. So y'all be mindful of
- 10:27Speaker 1: these things when we're doing it. So I just want
- 10:29Speaker 1: to drop those nugget y'alls before I jump into our
- 10:33Speaker 1: book Spotlight of the Day, and we are showcasing we
- 10:37Speaker 1: are spotlighting our author of the week. So we have
- 10:42Speaker 1: a author of the week over here on the magazine platform,

- 11:39Speaker 1: her family out because she is going through with her
- 11:43Speaker 1: her baby who's now three years old. She needs a heart.
