- Lucas: Välkommen tillbaka to Learn Swedish with Fexingo! I'm Lucas. Luna: And I'm Luna. Hey Lucas, did you see that episode of that show where someone fell and broke their arm? Lucas: Oh yeah, that was intense. Made me think — we haven't covered hospital phrases yet. And it's super useful. Luna: Totally. I'd be lost if I needed to call an ambulance in Swedish. Lucas: Well, today's your lucky day. We're learning how to get help at a hospital or emergency room. Luna: Okay, good. Let's start simple. What's the first thing you'd say? Lucas: If it's an emergency: Jag behöver akut hjälp. I need emergency help. Luna: Jag behöver akut hjälp. Lucas: Nice. 'Akut' means emergency or urgent. So, jag behöver akut hjälp. Luna: Jag behöver akut hjälp. I can imagine saying that if something bad happens. Lucas: Exactly. Let's do a quick scene. You're at a park and someone falls. What do you say? Luna: Jag behöver akut hjälp. Lucas: Perfect. Now, if you need to tell them where it hurts: Det gör ont här. It hurts here. Luna: Det gör ont här. Lucas: Slowly: Det gör ont här. 'Ont' means pain or hurts. Luna: Det gör ont här. So if I point to my arm, I'd say det gör ont här. Lucas: You got it. Next, how to ask for directions: Var är akuten? Where is the ER? Luna: Akuten — that's the emergency room, right? Lucas: Yes. So var är akuten? Var är akuten. Repeat? Luna: Var är akuten? Lucas: Good. Now a polite ask: Kan ni hjälpa mig? Can you help me? 'Ni' is formal you. Luna: Kan ni hjälpa mig? Lucas: Great. And if it's super urgent, you might shout: Ring en ambulans! Call an ambulance! Luna: Ring en ambulans! Lucas: Yes. Let's run through all five quickly. Repeat after me. Luna: Okay. Lucas: Jag behöver akut hjälp. Luna: Jag behöver akut hjälp. Lucas: Det gör ont här. Luna: Det gör ont här. Lucas: Var är akuten? Luna: Var är akuten? Lucas: Kan ni hjälpa mig? Luna: Kan ni hjälpa mig? Lucas: Ring en ambulans! Luna: Ring en ambulans! Lucas: Fantastic. Now let's put them together in a mini conversation. Luna: Ooh, do I get to be the injured person? Lucas: Sure. I'll be the helper. You come up to me, holding your arm. Luna: Jag behöver akut hjälp. Det gör ont här. Lucas: Var är akuten? Luna: Kan ni hjälpa mig? Lucas: Ring en ambulans! Luna: Oh, that was a lot, but I think I got it. Lucas: You did. Let's review one more time. I'll say the English, you say the Swedish. Luna: Bring it on. Lucas: I need emergency help. Luna: Jag behöver akut hjälp. Lucas: It hurts here. Luna: Det gör ont här. Lucas: Where is the ER? Luna: Var är akuten? Lucas: Can you help me? Luna: Kan ni hjälpa mig? Lucas: Call an ambulance! Luna: Ring en ambulans! Lucas: You nailed it. That's all for today's episode of Learn Swedish with Fexingo. Luna: Practice these phrases, folks. Hopefully you never need them, but if you do, you'll be ready. Lucas: Tack för att du lyssnade. See you next time! Luna: Hej då!
