- 0:44Welcome to man talk 133, another powerful episode man talk 130
- 0:51where men man talk 133 where men tonight I need to slow down
- 0:57y'all working right into the show.
- 0:59Y'all make sure y'all check out all our check out all of my
- 1:02platforms Instagram man talk 133 Facebook that's talking Spotify
- 1:14that's man talk 133 iheart, Pandora, man talk 133.
- 1:24So just check out all of the platforms.
- 1:25You know so tonight, so let me start out like this.
- 1:28So I went on a show last night shout out to the eagle's nest
- 1:35shout out to brother Satan apostle Satan and apostle Ty for
- 1:42having me on I appreciate that thank y'all for having me on the
- 1:44show. So I went on this show last
- 1:47night and I, you know, got a different perspective of Man
- 1:53Talk 133 and how it is growing in, you know, growing in the, in
- 2:00the social media space and also growing in just the, the man
- 2:05space, right? So many, so, so many people.
- 2:08Now I'm paying attention to Man Talk 133.
- 2:12So I want to come on tonight to talk about men in ministry, You
- 2:17know, so tonight ain't about it. It's not about putting women
- 2:22down. It's about us calling men up
- 2:26into their, to their place, rightful place where they should
- 2:30be, right. So the Kingdom God has never
- 2:34ever stopped needing men ever. It it always has needed men,
- 2:39Kingdom men like fathers, husbands, teachers, servants,
- 2:43protectors, prayer warriors. And yes, men can be prayer
- 2:48warriors, you know, intercessory prayers and not prayer, prayers,
- 2:54pray prayers. Y'all give them like gosh, I
- 2:56can't get it out. Y'all listen, y'all don't say
- 3:02inter accessory prayer warriors. There you go.
- 3:06So but the day the church has become filled with women
- 3:11faithfully carrying the responsibilities that men are
- 3:16supposed to carry, right? So this is this tonight again is
- 3:21we're going to talk about men in ministry, the crisis nobody
- 3:26wants to talk about. So tonight I'm asking where are
- 3:30the men and eat? More importantly, how do we get
- 3:35them back? So tonight is not about guilt,
- 3:38but it's about purpose. So you know, the scriptures say
- 3:42in Genesis 215, the Lord God tucked man and put him in the
- 3:47garden, eating, eating to work and keep it.
- 3:51Notice this before Eve, before children, before ministry, God
- 3:57gave Adam an assignment. Purpose always comes before
- 4:03position. Ephesians 610 through 18.
- 4:08I mean, you got to go read all that and, you know, write all
- 4:11that down. But it's talking about the armor
- 4:12of God, the armor of God. So Paul in this particular
- 4:22Scripture wasn't talking and he wasn't writing about passive
- 4:26men. He was talking about, he
- 4:27describes soldiers, Kingdom men fight spiritually.
- 4:32You know, don't put in the whole Oh my God, helpless salvation,
- 4:34birthplace and righteousness. Have your feet show out with the
- 4:37preparation of gossip, peace, all of that.
- 4:39You know, he was talking about men, Kingdom men, fighting
- 4:44spiritually, right? Stick with me.
- 4:47I'm going somewhere. I promise you I am 1st
- 4:50Corinthians 6 and 13. Watch ye stand fast in the
- 4:54faith. Quit, quit.
- 4:58You like men. Be strong, right?
- 5:01Modern translation. Be watchful, stand firm, act
- 5:05like men, be strong, right? So, so tonight, like I said,
- 5:11it's not about bashing men. I promise, promise you it's not.
- 5:14It's about trying to get men in the position where they could be
- 5:18king of men. That's why we're talking about
- 5:21men and ministry tonight. So this is God's original design
- 5:26for men. God created man not simply to
- 5:30just exist, but to represent him.
- 5:35Now He gave men 5 assignments. 5 assignments is what God gave
- 5:41men. The first one was a provider,
- 5:46not just merely money, not going out, making as much money as you
- 5:49can make. Nothing wrong with that, but
- 5:51that's not what he's talking about.
- 5:52But to provide peace, security, leadership and prayer.
- 5:57These are the things men are supposed to be doing in their
- 6:00homes outside of going out. Well, you know, I, I go out and
- 6:04I work and I, you know, and I pay all these bills around here.
- 6:07Great. But do you provide security to
- 6:12provide leadership? Do you pray?
- 6:17These are some of the things you know, Do you provide peace or
- 6:20you're just a troublemaker? As soon as you walk everybody in
- 6:26the house, warm up. There he go, old house.
- 6:32I know he is, you know what I mean?
- 6:34So do you provide all of these? You know the next one is
- 6:41protector. See, Adam fell because he stayed
- 6:45silent. The serpent spoke.
- 6:47Adam watched. Sometimes silence is sin.
- 6:54If you're quiet, you are complacent.
- 6:56You're agreeing with what someone is doing.
- 6:59See, he didn't do anything at all.
- 7:02He watched as the serpent came in and did what he wanted to do
- 7:08right with Eve. Priest the first, you are the
- 7:16first pastor in every home. You, the father should be the
- 7:22priest, the pastor of your home, not the TV, not social media.
- 7:30So you got to set that tone of how you're going to be as the
- 7:34priest of your home, how you going to lead your home, how you
- 7:37going to God. You know how you're going to put
- 7:39restraints on social media for your kids?
- 7:42You know how much TV they watch or even how much TV you watch.
- 7:46You could be sitting there binging on TVI don't know.
- 7:49And and they trying to look for you for leadership.
- 7:52And hey, if they see you over there chilling with your feet
- 7:55up, guess what they going to do? Share what they feet up.
- 7:59So you got to be the you got to be the priest of your home, set
- 8:02the tone with prayer and and all these different things going to
- 8:06church, you know, making sure that you are representing God
- 8:10the right way, right prophet, speaking God's truth over your
- 8:16family, not being a fortune teller and getting any little
- 8:20crystal balls and doing all this stuff like that.
- 8:22And just with the crystal balls. I shook it up and the little
- 8:24thing floated up to the top and it said this no, not at all.
- 8:32Speaking life like over your kids, you are successful, you
- 8:36are powerful. You are God's man or woman.
- 8:39You are, you know, going to be you're destined to be great even
- 8:45speaking over your wife like hey, you know what, listen, you
- 8:49are destined to do great things. You will do great things.
- 8:54Speaking these things over your wife and kids makes a big
- 8:59difference because if you don't do that, how they going to know
- 9:03what they are and they not hearing from you And then they
- 9:07may not hear from church and may not hear from the people you
- 9:11know that they surround themselves around.
- 9:14Good because they may not be Christian people all the way in.
- 9:19Christian people get what I'm saying and maybe Christian and
- 9:22maybe like 1 footy and 1 foot out and maybe Luke Wong is what
- 9:26I'm saying. So you got to make sure you do
- 9:29that too. A servant leader.
- 9:32Jesus washed feet of his disciples.
- 9:37So to the men, leadership isn't about power, it's about
- 9:41responsibility. How responsible are you?
- 9:45Are you responsible for your kids well-being?
- 9:49Are you responsible for their growth?
- 9:51Are you responsible for you know how they do in school, how they
- 9:56do on their jobs or or you condone them going to to they
- 10:01job busting out the boss, busting out the customers.
- 10:05There's some folk out throwing drinks at people and then having
- 10:08their friends recorded and think it's the funniest thing in the
- 10:11world. So what are you your servant
- 10:15leader or what? I mean they just ain't about
- 10:20power. You know Jesus was the ultimate
- 10:24leader and he still washed the disciples feet.
- 10:28So keep it in mind, man. It is not about leadership,
- 10:33isn't about power, it's about responsibility.
- 10:37So when your family thinks of leadership, what do they think
- 10:40of you? This is a question.
- 10:45When your family thinks of leadership, do they think of
- 10:49you? I make sure I said that, right.
- 10:51When your family thinks of leadership, do they think of you
- 10:54or do they think of you know they pastor or do they think of
- 10:57a granddaddy or do they think of you know, Popeyes or leader or
- 11:03they think of their uncle, you know, Uncle Michael, Uncle Leroy
- 11:09or Uncle June. But whatever y'all call them,
- 11:11right? Do they think of them or do they
- 11:13think of you when they when your family thinks of leadership?
- 11:20Because if they don't think of you when leadership pops up,
- 11:24then hey, you, some of you doing that's off that you need to fix
- 11:29immediately because they should be thinking of you 100%.
- 11:37Now, these are interesting statistics.
- 11:39About 60 to 65% of regular church attendees in the US are
- 11:44women. Now, I gave a statistic last
- 11:47night on the show The Eagle's Nest.
- 11:51I said that I, I felt like, is that the ratio in church?
- 11:55And now it's like 8020, Like you got 8080% women and 20% men in
- 12:01the church. That's what I personally feel
- 12:04like it is based on what I've seen.
- 12:05Right. So about 60 to 65% of regular
- 12:11church attendees in the US are women, while men are
- 12:15significantly underrepresented in many congregations.
- 12:20Studies also also consistently find that when fathers actively
- 12:27practice their faith, their children are much their children
- 12:31are much more likely to remain active in church into adulthood.
- 12:37Example you got to be the example y'all, you cannot
- 12:42fathers listen dads you got to be the example you got to be.
- 12:49If you are not the example, then they getting that from somewhere
- 12:53else and when they get it from the wrong people, we all know
- 12:57what could happen. Now I know we always say they
- 13:00can end up in games when they ain't got to really end up in
- 13:03games. They can end up you know in some
- 13:08activity they don't need to be in you know like you know like
- 13:13hey psychic readings and all those other kinds of the
- 13:18crystals and all this other stuff that they got going on
- 13:20right now. If you are missing or you not
- 13:24representing in church, this could happen.
- 13:28Why are men missing? Why are did we going to get into
- 13:31this before the break? Why are men missing?
- 13:36So men are missing because I'm trying to find something like
- 13:42hey, sorry y'all just bear with me.
- 13:45Why men missing? This is the one of the biggest,
- 13:49this is one of the biggest questions church's face today.
- 13:53Reason #1 no spiritual fathers to all, to all the leaders out
- 13:59there, all the pastors and you know, prophets and all of that
- 14:03stuff like that, right? Know that you matter as a
- 14:07spiritual father no matter what people say, no matter what
- 14:11people think and no matter what they say.
- 14:12He'll money pastor, He, you know, he this and he that.
- 14:17You mean something? If there are no spiritual
- 14:21fathers, guess what? Men are going to be missing
- 14:26100%. Many men never saw biblical
- 14:31masculinity, yo. They always saw a woman as their
- 14:40leader, as their pastor. They never saw a man as being
- 14:47their leader because the women always prayed.
- 14:53They always did. You know, they always showed up,
- 14:56men. Y'all got to show up.
- 14:58Hey, we'll be right back after the break y'all.
- 15:00Stats tell that each day 22 veterans commit suicide due to
- 15:05PTSD. These stats shook us and urged
- 15:08us to do our part. After hours and hours of
- 15:11thinking, beekeeping for veterans was born.
- 15:15Beekeeping for veterans combines beekeeping with mindfulness
- 15:19meditation. Why combine them?
- 15:21Here's why. Beekeeping causes positive rush
- 15:25of adrenaline while beekeeping you have to be calm during it
- 15:29you are mindful of your movements.
- 15:31Each week a veteran will receive a mindful meditation to build
- 15:35emotional and mental skill sets. Mindfulness is a set of three
- 15:39attentional skills that work together concentration, sensory
- 15:43clarity and equanimity, mental calmness, composure, evenness of
- 15:48temper. Every time mindfulness is
- 15:50practiced, we build these skills.
- 15:53Be keeping for veterans not only helps veterans overcome
- 15:56emotional trauma but also aids our environment as without bees
- 16:01there is no food. Come forward.

- 17:30Welcome back to Man Talk 133 with me and Unite.
- 17:34Thank everybody for joining the show tonight.
- 17:36Tonight we are talking about men in ministry, the crisis nobody
- 17:41wants to talk about. Before I went to the break, I
- 17:44was given reasons why men are missing in church.
- 17:50You know, one of the reasons was no spiritual fathers.
- 17:54The other one that I gave before the break was men never saw
- 17:58biblical masculinity. They always saw female preachers
- 18:03and teachers or the parents are always the the mom and
- 18:06grandmother and I was always praying over them, stuff like
- 18:09that. So that's all they saw.
- 18:12That's an example they saw. So they never saw a man praying
- 18:15for them over them or whatever. You know, not all some men,
- 18:20right? Another thing they learn from
- 18:22television, they learn from, they learn church from from TV.
- 18:28Y'all they think about that, think about how absurd that is.
- 18:34They learn church from TV and we know how TV is.
- 18:39So how could you even learn church from TV?
- 18:43Like they saw the pastors know that Reverend Ike and all of
- 18:49them and they thought Reverend Ike was the guy, you know, they
- 18:52saw Reverend Leon, Lonnie Love, Alton Martin.
- 18:54They thought he was supposed they supposed to be like that,
- 18:57you know what I mean? So that's how they learn and
- 19:01that's why they missing and learn from music.
- 19:04You know, they they learn from athletes, they learn from street
- 19:10culture. You know, we got people out
- 19:13there now on the street corners that, you know, I don't want to
- 19:17get into the name calling of what they are, but they know who
- 19:20they are, right? And they teaching them preaching
- 19:23false doctrine and men learn from that.
- 19:26And guess what, since it's a thing that that's feel good to
- 19:32them, guess what they do, they going to go hitch themselves to
- 19:36the wrong thing. And guess what, when they hitch
- 19:38themselves to the wrong thing, that kids hitch themselves to
- 19:43the wrong thing. You see how important it is for
- 19:46men to be in church and be represented Right now we're
- 19:50underrepresented big time. So we got to pick up the
- 19:53numbers, y'all. They learn all these things
- 19:59instead of scripture reading the Bible, open the Bible up,
- 20:03getting an understanding of the Bible.
- 20:06They did they they they just. Here are the people on the
- 20:11street corner and you need to do XYZ.
- 20:14I'm telling the Bible say the eyes and the one other soul
- 20:18that's not in the Bible, not 1%, right?
- 20:21So so when they learned this false doctrine, they teach that
- 20:25down to the other people, to their kids and all of them are
- 20:29in error. The ones that taught them he's
- 20:33in error and then their kids in error.
- 20:35And if their wife fall in it, she in error.
- 20:38So you got to be careful about that.
- 20:41Some men reason #2 some men see church as often perceived as
- 20:47feminine. I go to church, I'm soft.
- 20:50And I'm saying, hey, man, you know I ain't going to church
- 20:53over there, man. I don't want to be saying soft.
- 20:55I ain't no sucker. But that's not the case, y'all.
- 20:59Many churches unintentionally emphasize activities that some
- 21:03men struggle to connect with while offering fear opportunity,
- 21:06fewer opportunities that highlight leadership,
- 21:10mentorship, service, building protection and missions.
- 21:15For example, they offer, hey, you know, we're going to have
- 21:19this women's conference. We're going to have, you know,
- 21:22this guest speakers, female come in and speak what we going to
- 21:27have, you know, different events that don't include.
- 21:31Basically they're saying they don't include men.
- 21:34You know what I'm saying? They don't have leadership
- 21:36conferences for men, Tom. They don't have leadership
- 21:40conferences for men. They don't highlight leadership.
- 21:44They don't, excuse me, they don't have mentorship programs.
- 21:48They don't teach them how to protect their family.
- 21:52So what do they do? Like, man, ain't nothing here
- 21:55for me, man. I'm out.
- 21:56You know what I'm saying? I am.
- 21:58Yeah. I'm good.
- 22:00Just ain't nothing here for me. I come here.
- 22:03I gave you a Sunday to try to help me get myself on track.
- 22:07And guess what? Y'all talk about me the whole
- 22:10time. I ain't coming back.
- 22:13Goodbye. Hey.
- 22:14Nice to meet you, Pastor. Hi and bye.
- 22:17That's it. See ya, that's what they do and
- 22:21being often thrive when challenged in meaningful
- 22:24responsibility. So if you challenge men even
- 22:28that's why debates are so being like debates, especially sport
- 22:33debates. You know you talking about
- 22:34LeBron and Jordan or you know I don't think it's no Brady
- 22:39comparison, but you know Brady and Montana and those guys like
- 22:43that You know Randy Moss and Jerry.
- 22:49What's the guy now? Y'all what I'm talking about the
- 22:51one I pray for synthesis go Jerry.
- 22:54Y'all know what I'm talking about anyway, the one of the
- 22:56best wide receivers in the world was and still is right.
- 23:01So they like debates like this because it stimulates them.
- 23:04It gets them going. So if we can do, if we can do
- 23:07that in church and get them stimulated, but if we won't,
- 23:12then reason. But just he's a #3 shame.
- 23:20Some men believe I messed up way too much, way too much.
- 23:26But I'm going to give y'all something that's crazy for men
- 23:28to think about now. Peter denied Jesus three times,
- 23:35right? Yeah, Jesus restored him.
- 23:39He restored him. So don't think that the things
- 23:44you've done out on the streets or wherever you've done them at
- 23:47or at home, or whether it be you know you, you know, watching
- 23:52porn or drinking alcohol or smoking weed or whatever it is
- 23:57you doing, you have not messed up too much.
- 24:02Kick the shame. The Bible says he would give you
- 24:04double for your shame but you got to get yourself an imposter
- 24:10in position so that he can give you the double for your shame.
- 24:13If you out of position how you going to get it?
- 24:16You know what I'm saying? So just remember he restored
- 24:19Peter so he definitely can restore you if you deny Jesus.
- 24:25Think about that y'all? He had the nerve to deny Jesus
- 24:30and Jesus said you know what, I'm going to restore so why
- 24:33can't you me? Come on y'all, come on man, we
- 24:36got to do better. Reason #4 fear.
- 24:39Now this is a big one as I'm not good enough.
- 24:47I mean they that's one of the thing man, I ain't good enough.
- 24:49All that drama, you know now what it is, is your fear and
- 24:52your trauma that you'd had when you was younger is coming back
- 24:56and won't let you walk into the calling where you supposed to
- 25:00walk into your purpose. You, you know your destiny
- 25:04because you feel like, hey, I didn't feel so much.
- 25:07You know, I don't want to do this because all I'm going to do
- 25:10is let a whole another generation of people down again.
- 25:13So why would you feel I do that? I'm going to do all that.
- 25:16I just you know, I just sit over and chill on the side and I'm
- 25:18straight. Can't do that.
- 25:23You got to get up, keep it pushing for real.
- 25:28Think about this. Moses said the same thing.
- 25:32Jeremiah said the same thing, Gideon said the same thing.
- 25:36God still use all of them. Now, why you think he can't use
- 25:41you? You ain't in the Bible that I
- 25:42know of. You ain't in there.
- 25:45And so I mean, hey, he can use you.
- 25:48Don't be fearful, you know what I'm saying?
- 25:50Just don't just walk into it. Come into the church, lay all
- 25:55your burdens down, lay it at the altar.
- 25:57Get yourself clean. Come on in the church because we
- 26:00need y'all men in ministry. We need you for show.
- 26:03All right, What excuses? This is the this is just a a
- 26:08question. What excuses are keeping men
- 26:11from ministry? What excuses do y'all feel like
- 26:15it's keeping men from ministry? I think the biggest 1 is like, I
- 26:17ain't ready yet. I ain't got myself together yet.
- 26:20You know, once I get myself together, you know I'm going to
- 26:22come in and I'm I'm going to be on five for God.
- 26:25And but, but I got to get myself together first.
- 26:27I got to get myself together because I mean, I can't come in
- 26:31there like this. I mean the Bibles that come as
- 26:34you are, that means if you're broken, that means if you're
- 26:39hurt, that means if you're full of fear, that means you're full
- 26:41of doubt, that means you. If you just cuss somebody out in
- 26:45the parking lot, you know what I'm saying?
- 26:47I wouldn't advise that. But what I'm saying, if you did
- 26:50come as you are, you know what I'm saying?
- 26:53Even with, you know, if you ain't got the right suit, come
- 26:57as you are. You got a pair of jeans and some
- 26:59Crocs, Come on in the building. There's a seat in there for you.
- 27:03Don't let people tell you you can't come to church dressed
- 27:07like that. Yes you can.
- 27:09You ain't made it yet like they so-called have made it.
- 27:13You ain't come on in the building, you know what I'm
- 27:16saying? But for real though, what are
- 27:17some excuses? What excuses are keeping men
- 27:22from ministry? That's mines y'all.
- 27:23Hey, type in the chat what y'all think it is man.
- 27:26You know, I, that's just my top one, right?
- 27:32Ministry isn't just preaching. Many, many, many men believe
- 27:36ministry means standing at a pulpit.
- 27:39Not so, Not so. Not so at all.
- 27:43And that's where I think we fall.
- 27:46Men fall at because they think they got to be standing in the
- 27:50pulpit in order to for God to use them.
- 27:55Not so, Not so. Not so.
- 27:58Not so. Not so.
- 28:00I'm going to say it again. Not so.
- 28:01Not so. Not so.
- 28:03Right. Wrong.
- 28:05Every believer has a ministry. This is mines.
- 28:10You know, I've, I'm, I'm here to, you know, help men build a
- 28:14coalition of men. Man talk 133 what?
- 28:17Man Talk 133 what? Men unite to build a coalition
- 28:21of men all across the world, globe, everywhere.
- 28:25So if somebody, if a man needs something, he's in California,
- 28:29you pick up the phone, call your contact in California.
- 28:31Hey, this is, you know, I got a guy out there, brother so and so
- 28:36I'm going to have him reach out to you, man.
- 28:38He needs, you know, he needs some support for a month.
- 28:43You know, he need a job and stuff like that.
- 28:45Have him get on his feet. Boom.
- 28:47That's how we do that. That's what Man Talk 133 is
- 28:51thriving to do. So it can be in Alaska.
- 28:56We got some folk in Alaska. You got some man talk one in 30
- 28:59threes in Alaska. Hey, we'll do it over there too.
- 29:03But every believer has a ministry.
- 29:06For example, Ministry of Encouragement.
- 29:09Barnabas was known for lifting people up.
- 29:12Some men are called to encourage.
- 29:14They just have it. They can tell you.
- 29:17They can make you feel like, you know, like, Dang, I can't do
- 29:23this. Can I mean you this dude got me
- 29:25feeling like I can do all this and you can right, because he's
- 29:29he's an encourager. He has that you know what I
- 29:34mean? And you think about that Bonner
- 29:40was was like that so you could be like him.
- 29:43You just encourage people, make them feel good about themselves
- 29:46and you know, and all that stuff like that.
- 29:49So next Ministry of Giving, but I'm going to get into the
- 29:53Ministry of Giving right after the break, y'all.
- 29:56We'll be right back after the break.

- 31:51Welcome back to MAN Talk 133, where men unite.
- 31:56Tonight we talking about men in ministry, the crisis nobody
- 32:00wants to talk about. But tonight we talking about it.
- 32:03We're breaking it down. We're getting into it.
- 32:05You know, everybody had every man out there has a calling, a
- 32:09purpose. Hey, we're trying to help you
- 32:12all get to that. Like I just gave the last one
- 32:14bottomless. He was encouraging some men out
- 32:18there could just encourage people.
- 32:19I don't care if you got a bottle in your hand or not, you still
- 32:21encourage it. You put the bottle down and get
- 32:24into church, you'll be even the more encouraging.
- 32:28You got to be. You got to be right with it.
- 32:31You got to do what you got to do to get into the place where God
- 32:35can use you like you want to use you right.
- 32:37The next one is Ministry of Giving.
- 32:39Joseph of Arithmetica gives his resources.
- 32:45So not everyone preaches some fund ministries like, you know,
- 32:49you might have, you know, punished money.
- 32:51Let me say this too. Hold on.
- 32:52Let me be clear on this one. I ain't saying you can give
- 32:58money and not come to church. That's not what I'm saying.
- 33:00I do not take that what I'm saying.
- 33:03Yeah, some can fund the ministry, but you got to be part
- 33:07of a ministry so God can really use you.
- 33:11You know what I'm saying? He got to be able to use you in
- 33:14the right way. We don't want no dope money
- 33:16coming into the church y'all like I mean we can't have dope
- 33:21money. You come and drop money off in
- 33:23duffel bags two $300,000 worth of dope money you just made last
- 33:29night and some powers ain't going to care.
- 33:31They hey, but I need these bills paid.
- 33:33Yo, Oh, good. We can get it from I'm gonna
- 33:36pray over this and then hey, somehow to go back there and
- 33:39count that. You know what I'm saying?
- 33:40Some people don't care, but we got to do a decent in the order.
- 33:43You know what I'm saying? Ministry of service.
- 33:46You could be deacons parking teams.
- 33:49Now, I worked in a parking lot. It's parking lot security.
- 33:54I worked on security, pastoral security, so it's different
- 33:57things you can do. Deacons, parking teams and media
- 34:00teams, security, hospitality, visitations, mentorship,
- 34:05technology administration, hospitality.
- 34:08I'm saying I mean hospital, hospital visitation and
- 34:12hospitality. Now I did security, parking lot
- 34:16security and pastoral security and I would tell me and right
- 34:22now it's very rewarding. I did prison ministry.
- 34:25So that was very rewarding. So you can find whatever your
- 34:29spot is and you can plug right in.
- 34:33You know, if you was military, hey, you could be parking lot
- 34:36security or you could be, or you know, you, you could be pastoral
- 34:42security, but you've got to be right.
- 34:45No pastor's going to let anybody watch over them that day off or
- 34:53a little something that's off. You know what it means or
- 34:55they're not going to do that job.
- 34:57I well, none that I know they're like that, you know what I mean?
- 35:01If you're good with, if you're good with like posting Flyers
- 35:05and making stuff like that, you can be part of the media teams.
- 35:09You know, if you're an encourager, like I said earlier,
- 35:13you can go do hospital visitation.
- 35:15You can be a mentor if you can, if you have done business, you
- 35:21know, for years and you can just bring the young people in and
- 35:24just drop knowledge into them on how to start and run.
- 35:28Not even the young people, but even older people where you can
- 35:32bring it in and you can bring them in and just mentor them how
- 35:37to start successful businesses and keep them going, right?
- 35:41Or if you play instruments, you can come in and show people how
- 35:44to play instruments if you're good at IT.
- 35:46All this stuff can be used in the church, y'all.
- 35:50It ain't all about just preaching.
- 35:52You ain't just got to be up there preaching all the time.
- 35:55You know, maybe you'll get there, but it ain't where you
- 35:57got to start at ministry in the marketplace.
- 36:01We talking about Daniel Joseph Nehemiah business is ministry,
- 36:07government is ministry, education is ministry, sports
- 36:11can be ministry and social media can be ministry depends on how
- 36:15it's used. For example, if you're using
- 36:18your social media to push the Kingdom of God, you know the
- 36:23word of God, you're pushing and push the word of God instead of
- 36:27pushing with people up there fighting.
- 36:28So you want to get views and stuff like that.
- 36:31That's not you're not really pushing the word of God.
- 36:37You know, you're pushing stuff for your own game, right?
- 36:41You know what I mean? Sports can be ministry.
- 36:43It just depends. You know, some guys, you know,
- 36:45they, they, they say it and they show that they love God on the
- 36:50field and off the field. So the government we in now, I
- 36:58mean, I, I got to go here with it.
- 37:00Y'all, y'all got to be careful because they say they love him
- 37:06just my this is this is my wife scripture she's been talking
- 37:09about. So I'm going to take this from
- 37:11you tonight, babe. I'm going to use this.
- 37:15I had to take this from you tonight.
- 37:21They say that they love him, but their heart is far away from
- 37:24him. So I mean the government is
- 37:30saying love God, love God, love God, but the action shows
- 37:37something totally different, some totally different.
- 37:40Hear me on this one, totally different.
- 37:42So y'all got to be mined for that.
- 37:44All right. Now this is key ministry inside
- 37:48the home. One of the greatest ministries
- 37:51is fatherhood, teaching your children scripture, praying over
- 37:57your wife, leading family devotion.
- 38:01No, some of y'all might not be ready for that yet.
- 38:03So you got to build your way up to that.
- 38:06You got to work your way into that till you get to that and
- 38:10hey, just go for that. Go go from there.
- 38:12You know you, you got to start somewhere.
- 38:15If you got a one line prayer, if you got one scripture that you
- 38:20go to God is love. Hey, just start there and just
- 38:24just build on it. God's love and you know you can
- 38:27go to the other ones and find some other ones and some other
- 38:31ones and the other ones. But as long as you teaching your
- 38:33kids scripture and you're praying over your wife, you may
- 38:38have a one line. Hey man, just protect my wife.
- 38:41At least you started is a start. You get up there, you may leave
- 38:46family devotion. You may have like 1 little thing
- 38:50to talk about. Hey, you know, So what y'all
- 38:52think about having Eve? Yeah, I think it was messed up.
- 38:58Hi, Adam. You know, didn't say nothing.
- 39:01I messed up. How the devil, DXYZ.
- 39:04But at least you're trying. You up there doing something?
- 39:08You get what I'm saying? Start somewhere, y'all.
- 39:10Start small and scale up. You know what I mean?
- 39:17So let me ask you all this. Who first introduced y'all to
- 39:22Christ? My wife, I think introduced me
- 39:25to Christ first. I know that.
- 39:29Has a godly man ever changed your life?
- 39:31Of course. I'm asking the question for me
- 39:33with y'all answering for y'all self.
- 39:34Of course. Yes.
- 39:35Godly man has changed my life. What ministry are you called to?
- 39:40Oh, man, I think pastor side. That's what I think.
- 39:51That's what I think, yeah. What's stopping you from
- 39:54stepping out, man? What's stepping y'all?
- 39:57What's stopping you from stepping out and doing what you
- 40:00supposed to do? Is it fear?
- 40:01Most time it's fear, you know, the fear just freak them out.
- 40:05It's just like, you know what? I can't.
- 40:07I understand what you're saying, but I just.
- 40:10I ain't ready yet, you know? I'm going to tell y'all
- 40:12something. A true story, though.
- 40:14I remember when I was, gotta say, way back in 1990.
- 40:27Six or seven somewhere. 97 is when I got saved, I think way
- 40:33back in 1997, gave my life to Christ in 97, right?
- 40:37And I remember every Sunday because of fear, Why don't you
- 40:41go down and give your life to Christ?
- 40:43I do it next Sunday. I Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 40:45I'll be ready next. And I ain't ready today.
- 40:48And I said that for a long time and then one Sunday I stepped, I
- 40:52got up and yo, it want a real big church.
- 40:57But the I always look like it was like a mile long was
- 41:00everybody's looking at you as you walk down there.
- 41:03But you can't be fearful. You still got to get up and walk
- 41:07down there and give your life to Christ.
- 41:09If that's the way they do it. Some people don't do it like
- 41:11that no more. It's different now like hey,
- 41:13some people have, you know, pray, close your eyes and then
- 41:17call people out so it won't feel awkward to them.
- 41:21You know what I mean? Some people like that.
- 41:23What happens when me and don't leave?
- 41:25Families suffer, children search for identity elsewhere.
- 41:33That's what happened. Churches struggle because me and
- 41:36ain't there to even if they ain't nothing, you there to lock
- 41:39the doors open, unlock the doors, lock the doors, control
- 41:44the parking lot. You know different things like
- 41:48that that you guys think that is not that important.
- 41:51It's very important. If you ain't there to protect,
- 41:54just imagine your family inside the church and some happen or
- 42:01some some happen inside the church or outside the church and
- 42:04you ain't there to help protect it.
- 42:06Protect them, you leaving them defenseless like they have no
- 42:12you supposed to be there protect.
- 42:14I said at the beginning of the show, you supposed to be there
- 42:16protector right, But you ain't there to protect them.
- 42:23I'm just saying you got to think it.
- 42:25Think of it from that perspective.
- 42:27I'm not trying to fear people in the church, but I'm just saying
- 42:30like, listen, if you're not there, if you're not, if you're
- 42:36not leading, your family will suffer.
- 42:39That's a fact. Because they're going to kids
- 42:42going to search out whatever identity they're going to search
- 42:44out. They're going to do whatever
- 42:45they want. Churches struggle 'cause you
- 42:47ain't there, ain't there. The workload becomes unbalanced.
- 42:50That means women are doing more in the church than they supposed
- 42:52to do because you ain't there to do it.
- 42:54Now they count the money unlocking doors, locking doors,
- 42:57leaving out by themselves, doing all this other other stuff that
- 43:00y'all supposed to be doing. So I said all that to say, y'all
- 43:06important communities decline. Crime, violence, homeless,
- 43:11hopelessness, all this stuff will change if you are in the
- 43:20church, but if you're not in the church and when God let me in
- 43:23disappear. Hey, all this stuff will happen.
- 43:28So let me make sure I'm clear on it.
- 43:30Communities decline. Crime increases.
- 43:34Violence increases, Hopelessness increases.
- 43:37When godly men disappear, it's just what it is.
- 43:43If you in the church, it probably won't happen.
- 43:47More than likely it won't happen.
- 43:48So many communities lose mentors, coaches, volunteers and
- 43:53role models who often play important roles in stabilizing
- 44:00the community. So for for example, if you are
- 44:05everybody look up to you and you know, they look up to you,
- 44:08right? You know, they look up to you.
- 44:11Oh, that's so and so and so and so and they look up to you.
- 44:16Think about it. If you ain't there, who they got
- 44:18to look up to, just saying who they got to look up to.
- 44:24So Eli didn't discipline his sons.
- 44:27The priesthood became erupt corrupt because leadership
- 44:31matters. If he had disciplined his son,
- 44:34the priesthood would never came became corrupt.
- 44:37But since he didn't and he had poor leadership, that's what
- 44:43happened. King David.
- 44:45King David, a great king, yet his failures at home had lasting
- 44:50consequences. Leadership starts at home,
- 44:54y'all. It starts at the crib.
- 44:57Y'all got to know that we'll be right back.
- 44:59I will be right back after the break.
- 45:01Stats tell that each day, 22 veterans commit suicide due to
- 45:06PTSD. These stats shook us and urged
- 45:09us to do our part. After hours and hours of
- 45:12thinking, beekeeping for veterans was born.
- 45:16Beekeeping for veterans combines beekeeping with mindfulness
- 45:19meditation. Why combine them?
- 45:22Here's why. Beekeeping causes positive rush
- 45:25of adrenaline. While beekeeping you have to be
- 45:28calm during it. You are mindful of your
- 45:31movements. Each week, a veteran will
- 45:34receive a mindful meditation to build emotional and mental skill
- 45:37sets. Mindfulness is a set of three
- 45:40attentional skills that work together, concentration, sensory
- 45:44clarity and equanimity, mental calmness, composure, evenness of
- 45:49temper. Every time mindfulness is
- 45:51practiced, we build these skills.
- 45:53Beekeeping for veterans not only helps veterans overcome
- 45:57emotional trauma but also aids our environment as without bees
- 46:01there is no food. Come forward.
- 46:04The people who have supported your country now need your
- 46:07support. Military broadcast radio, the
- 46:16station that's giving veterans a voice Find.
- 46:19Us on the web at MB radio dot US.
- 46:22Opinions expressed in this program are those of the
- 46:25speakers and do not necessarily reflect the views or positions
- 46:30of any entities they represent. Welcome back to Man Talk 133,
- 46:36where Men Unite. Thank you all for joining the
- 46:39show tonight. Tonight we're talking about men
- 46:41in ministry, the crisis nobody wants to talk about.
- 46:47I mean, I engaged some stuff tonight for y'all today really,
- 46:51really, really, really think about you got to really think
- 46:53about what I gave you. Like King David, before I went
- 46:57to break, we were talking about King David.
- 47:00He was a great king, yet his failures at home had lasting
- 47:05consequences. So leadership starts at the
- 47:09crib, y'all? It starts at home for sure.
- 47:14Raising Kingdom men, older men, the dudes in the church, the
- 47:19elders, I mean, the, the, the deacons, the ones that you know,
- 47:24people, the ones that they overlook you, you sit in the
- 47:26corner, you quiet and you know, one that comes to mind is Mr.
- 47:31Wilbert. Y'all don't know Mr. Wilbert,
- 47:34but Mr. Wilbert, you matter. You older man, you matter.
- 47:37I'm telling you older men in the church, you matter, right?
- 47:43So I'm just saying like just because you're older and we
- 47:47shifting into like a another generation of church, you still
- 47:52matter when therefore trick you and think you don't matter
- 47:57because you 100% do matter. That's a fact, right?
- 48:03So Titus 2 older men should teach younger men, right?
- 48:10Go and read it. It talks about how they should,
- 48:13how they supposed to teach. Basically, you got to pass the
- 48:16knowledge down to the younger men because they don't know
- 48:20they, they, they don't have a clue what's going on.
- 48:22They think they know everything, but they really don't know
- 48:25nothing. Hate to say it like they don't
- 48:28know nothing. They don't.
- 48:29So mentorship, Paul had Timothy, Moses had Joshua, Elijah had
- 48:38Elijah, Jesus had 12 Who are you pouring into?
- 48:44So we got all this word in US men of God.
- 48:48We got all this word and all this prayer and all these ideas
- 48:51and all these great things we want to do for the Kingdom.
- 48:54But who are we pouring it into? Are we pouring it into the young
- 48:57people? Or what are we doing?
- 48:59Put it up on the shelf. So-called for the right time.
- 49:03Who are we pouring into? This really matters.
- 49:09Women too. I know this man.
- 49:10I'm talking about men, women. Y'all got all this word and
- 49:13y'all who y'all pouring into for real?
- 49:17Y'all got to like, we got to look at this man challenge men.
- 49:21We got to challenge men. Pastors, and I know a lot of
- 49:24y'all do. We got to challenge men.
- 49:28We got to stop entertaining men. They need to be challenged.
- 49:33We got to start equipping them to be able to pray at that
- 49:36house. We got to put them in
- 49:37uncomfortable positions where, hey, I need you to get up here
- 49:40and pray or either start them in, start them in, you know,
- 49:44like the men's fellowship, different things like that where
- 49:47they can pray in front of the men first and get comfortable
- 49:50with doing or you know, Sunday schools, you know, stuff like
- 49:55that. You got to start equipping them.
- 49:59We got to stop entertaining. We got to stop doing all the
- 50:01hollering and all the yeah, all that.
- 50:04That's good, fine. They entertain, they jump up and
- 50:07they have, they know we got to stop, you know, equipping them,
- 50:11but it be leaders of their homes for real.
- 50:15We got to stop doing that. Real growth, real growth happens
- 50:18through responsibility. If they're responsible, if you
- 50:21get them responsibility, they're going to be responsible.
- 50:25And I believe in y'all. I know y'all can do it.
- 50:28You know what I'm saying? I know y'all can do it, You
- 50:30know, because they give you a job for you to be responsible.
- 50:33You get up every morning and stay early in the morning and
- 50:37stay super late because you're responsible.
- 50:40You have a responsibility. That's my job.
- 50:42That's my responsibility to get up early and stay there late.
- 50:46Yeah, I can't leave my job like that.
- 50:49Guess what? You can't leave your family like
- 50:51that either. I'm just saying you can work.
- 50:56Let's see 2030 hours of overtime a week.
- 50:59If you can't pray for like 2 minutes over your wife and kids.
- 51:03We got to fix that y'all. That's something that structures
- 51:06off. We got to fix that right?
- 51:09What would happen if every Christian man disciple a younger
- 51:13man? Well, we have like it would be
- 51:19so Joe, the churches will be full because one thing I do know
- 51:27about young people, when you tell them something good,
- 51:32they're going to go and they're going to spread the word.
- 51:35Ain't they say like for example, Hey, man, especially if they
- 51:38play basketball, right? Hey, man, check this out, man.
- 51:40There's a there's a court down there off so and so.
- 51:44No, you got we got to go up there and play them boys.
- 51:47We have their ball and I'm telling you every day they have
- 51:50their ball. So if we disciple them the right
- 51:55way and just into the, you know, in church and be like and they
- 51:58go to the church. We're like, yo bro, you got to
- 52:00come check out this church. It's crazy.
- 52:04It's yo, you got to come check it out for real.
- 52:08It's no joke. Come check it out.
- 52:19These are 5 practical steps that can help right before I get out
- 52:25of here. 5 practical, 5 practical steps.
- 52:29Number one, pray daily, pray daily, Pray daily is the first
- 52:36one. Even if the 5 minutes, I'm going
- 52:39to say hey, 2-3 minutes if you ain't used to doing it.
- 52:45I mean, hey, you can go for 5 minutes, but I'm just saying
- 52:49just start with 2-3 minutes. You know #2 read Scripture every
- 52:54day. Consistency beats intensity.
- 53:00So if you consistent and you read and just say you want to
- 53:04read the Bible in like a year and you read you're, you're
- 53:08consistent about doing a certain amount every day, you're going
- 53:13to be good to go #3 find accountability.
- 53:18No man wins alone. You've got to have somebody
- 53:22that's going to be behind you, that's going to make sure if
- 53:25they see you getting off, they they'll nudge you back to the
- 53:29left. If you're getting off to the,
- 53:31you know, to the left and back to the right to keep you to keep
- 53:35you lined up. You know what I mean?
- 53:37You got to have find accountability in somebody,
- 53:41right? Hey, serve somewhere.
- 53:45If you coming to the church every Sunday, you sitting at the
- 53:47back with your arms across the thing like this, you know, you
- 53:50just chilling, you know, you got one kid on the disarm one on the
- 53:54other arm and your wife running around doing 3-4 different
- 53:57things and and you just sitting in the back chilling serve
- 54:02somewhere in church. God developed service before
- 54:05leaders. You got to be able to serve me
- 54:07first before he well, I you know, I can be over.
- 54:10I can be charged with all that, but you ain't never served on
- 54:14this, so you don't know what to take.
- 54:15You don't know the pressure, you don't know the warfare that come
- 54:17with doing all that. So you can't sell what you can
- 54:20leave with this, this, this, and you ain't never done it.
- 54:24The best thing to do is serve first, then work your way into
- 54:29leadership #5 lead at home first.
- 54:35You talk about you can leave them in the church.
- 54:37You can do all this and that and you can't leave your living
- 54:40room. You going to struggle handling a
- 54:44congregation if you can't handle your wife and your two or three
- 54:49kids or even 1 kid in the living room?
- 54:54Bro, listen, a congregation going to run through you, but
- 55:00they're going to stiff on you right on out the way.
- 55:02Like, boy, get out of here straight up.
- 55:04You ain't stop playing with me. I don't want to hear nothing.
- 55:07You got to say, pastor, I'm just telling y'all how I going to go.
- 55:12So y'all got to learn before you can jump in the lead.
- 55:15You first you got to serve, then you got to lead at home.
- 55:18First you got to lead at home. Y'all for real?
- 55:22For real. Just the final challenge.
- 55:25Imagine every father praying over his children, every husband
- 55:29leading devotion, every young man mentoring another young man,
- 55:34every church full of spiritually mature men.
- 55:38Neighborhoods would change. Schools would change.
- 55:41Families would change. Communities would change Kingdom
- 55:45advances. When ordinary men faithfully
- 55:49answer God's call, just answer the call.
- 55:52Y'all stop playing Joshua 24 and 15.
- 55:56As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
