- 0:48She's a happy girl.
- 1:02When is enough? really enough. Sometimes in our lives, we feel that circumstances
- 1:08and trials are going to overtake us.
- 1:10Sometimes it seems that we are going under, but as a child of God,
- 1:15we realize that we are never going under because we have Jesus and he is always enough.
- 1:20Perhaps you're going through something right now that is frustrating you and
- 1:24overwhelming you. I have good news.
- 1:27Luke 22, 38 says, it is enough.
- 1:31Join us as we take an in-depth look at what it means to know that God is enough.
- 1:38He is all you need to overwhelm all things, defeat Satan, and to live a joyous, fulfilled life.
- 1:47Hello, and thank you for joining us in this broadcast of Woman at the Well Ministries.
- 1:52And I'm just really excited about the next little bit of time that we're going
- 1:56to spend together as we look in God's word and talk about it is enough because he is enough.
- 2:03And if you would, please, I'd like for you to please turn to Luke chapter 22
- 2:08and verse 38. I'm going to look at the backside of verse 38.
- 2:12And it says, and the Lord said, behold, it starts out that way.
- 2:17And he ends that verse with, it is enough.
- 2:21It is enough. And just let that sort of soak in for just a second.
- 2:29And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords.
- 2:33And he said unto them, it is enough.
- 2:39It is enough.
- 2:40Have you let that just move in your heart?
- 2:48We are always struggling to find more. And we are always worried and anxious,
- 2:55even though the Bible says to be anxious for nothing, but in everything with thanksgiving,
- 2:58let your requests be made known unto God, and the peace of God that passeth
- 3:01all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
- 3:05Yet we find ourselves worrying. Is it going to be enough?
- 3:12Is it going to work out? Where am I going to get my food?
- 3:16Do you remember the widow? and Elijah and she there she is going in to get her
- 3:25cruise and her meal and a few sticks and some stuff and she's gonna prepare.
- 3:30Her last meal for her and her son and then they're gonna die,
- 3:35and along comes Elijah God's man and he says hey go get some sticks and you
- 3:43make me something to eat first.
- 3:48And I promise you that the cruise
- 3:51of oil will never run dry and the barrel of meal will never run out.
- 3:57But he said, give it to me first.
- 4:02And in that instance, Elijah is symbolic of what we need to do with God.
- 4:09God needs to be placed first and we need to give him our first fruits of all
- 4:16that we have, our tithes, our offerings, our talents, our skills,
- 4:22our time, and our energy, our love, and our dedication, and our devotion, and our loyalty.
- 4:28He is enough.
- 4:32Friends, remember the widow and her might.
- 4:36All these people had given money in according to
- 4:40what they had and the widow only had
- 4:44a little might far less in
- 4:48value than probably anyone else who had given but it represented far greater
- 4:55sacrifice and a far greater faith probably than anyone else who had given because
- 5:03the widow gave all she had when she gave her might,
- 5:07and it is enough because when god is in it it is enough when abraham obeyed god,
- 5:17strapped some wood on the back of his little lad isaac.
- 5:23And headed up the mountainside, fully prepared to sacrifice his only son,
- 5:31fully understanding that God would provide.
- 5:35He is enough. When Daniel was thrown into the lion's den, God was enough because
- 5:46he shut the lion's mouth.
- 5:48Did he remove Daniel from the den? No.
- 5:53But he kept the lions from having an effect on him.
- 5:59And when the king, listen to me, when the king came to the lion's den that day,
- 6:07he said, Daniel, Daniel.
- 6:11Daniel said, here I am. And the king knew about Daniel's God because of Daniel's witness in the den.
- 6:22You see, God doesn't say he'll remove the obstacle.
- 6:31What he says is, I will provide. I will provide whatever it is that you're going through.
- 6:41My God delivers, and he is enough.
- 6:47He is enough. Shall we pray?
- 6:52Our kind and most gracious to Heavenly Father, Lord, we just thank you for who you are.
- 6:59And from the depths of my heart.
- 7:02I thank you for whose I am. And Lord, I thank you that I serve a God that isn't
- 7:10a little baby in a manger,
- 7:12but is God of the universe, who is the great I am,
- 7:18the Alpha and the Omega of the beginning and the end,
- 7:22and who says I love you with every sunrise and every sunset,
- 7:28who says I'm special with every breath he gives me.
- 7:34Who says I'm worthy with every blessing, and who calls me friend as he walks
- 7:42with me every day and talks to me.
- 7:45Lord, I thank you that I know that your plan is to prosper me and to give me a great future.
- 7:54And Lord I thank you that I know that all things work together for the good
- 7:58to them that love the Lord and God I thank you for the peace you give me in
- 8:03my heart that I know that if you remove me from the lion's den,
- 8:09that somebody doesn't see you the way they need to Lord I pray that you would
- 8:16increase my faith that you would strengthen my steps that you would brighten my light for you,
- 8:24And Lord, I thank you that I know that you are enough.
- 8:27And I ask you that my life would show that I believe you when you say,
- 8:35I know what's best, and I want that for you.
- 8:39Lord, I pray that I would be all that you would have me to be,
- 8:42and that you would use this vessel of clay that you've chosen and that you've gifted with your words.
- 8:52And I thank you that I don't take that lightly and I pray, Lord.
- 8:57That I make you proud as I learn and I hear from you in the midst of your children and my family of God.
- 9:08And all these things we ask in thy most precious and holy name we pray and all
- 9:13of God's people said, amen.
- 9:18Isn't the love of Jesus something wonderful.
- 9:23I don't know how you feel when he stands in front of you and reveals himself
- 9:30to you so clearly that you can feel him as he speaks.
- 9:36But I know how I feel. I know that I feel sometimes in shock and awe,
- 9:43but I also just feel amazed that the God of the universe is mindful of me,
- 9:52enough to hold my hand.
- 9:55Play with me. And you see, he promises that to all of us.
- 10:00If we just open up his word and our hearts and let him in, what does it mean
- 10:07when he says it is enough?
- 10:111 Peter 4, 12 and 13 says this, and just listen to him.
- 10:18Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you
- 10:25as though some strange thing has happened unto you.
- 10:30But rejoice inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings,
- 10:36that when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.
- 10:45Do you see? He opened it up with Beloved.
- 10:49What an endearment. the god of the universe opens up his sentence to you with
- 11:00beloved think it not strange,
- 11:03concerning this fiery trial which is to try you as though some strange thing
- 11:09happened to you he picked it out for you and he's provided a way he says i am the way.
- 11:17Specifically to make you what he wants you to be or to use you the way he wants
- 11:23to use you and to allow you to in some way assimilate with him in his glory.
- 11:32Beloved, it is enough. In 2 Timothy 3.12, he says that the godly will suffer persecution.
- 11:40And you say, why? Why me, Lord? Lord, you know, we probably should say, why me, Lord?
- 11:48But not for the same reason that we do. We often say, why me,
- 11:52Lord? Because we don't see him in his glory.
- 11:54We don't see his perfect plan for us. We don't see how he's providing for us.
- 12:00We just basically want to know, what did I ever do to deserve something like
- 12:03this? The truth of the matter is, we should think of it that way, too.
- 12:07Because we should be saying, how could you possibly be thinking of me?
- 12:11How could you possibly be wanting this opportunity for me to serve with you
- 12:20and share in your glory as you exalt me in due time?
- 12:24How could I possibly be the one that you've chosen to do your work?
- 12:33And the reason is because it is enough.
- 12:36Jesus Christ as Savior is enough. Jesus Christ as friend is enough.
- 12:42Jesus Christ as your banker is enough. Jesus Christ as your supplier is enough.
- 12:51Jesus Christ as your Father is enough.
- 12:57Because he is enough.
- 13:01And the devil would like for you to look at things differently.
- 13:05He wouldn't want you to understand the honor of being able to share in his glory.
- 13:12He wouldn't want you to understand the depth of his love for you.
- 13:19Beloved, you are the God of the universe's beloved one.
- 13:25Whom he died for. And he said, I'll never leave you.
- 13:31And you can do all things through me because I am enough.
- 13:37Kim, don't look to the world for your help. Kim, don't get your eyes off of my plans for you.
- 13:45Don't look and compare yourself horizontally. Look vertically.
- 13:50Look at me. Watch me. Look at me.
- 13:53When I was a little girl and I would get scared, played national tennis,
- 13:59and sometimes I would get nervous and my dad always sit in a certain place in the stands.
- 14:06He would say to me right before the match, Kimmy, just look at me.
- 14:12When he gets scared, just look at me.
- 14:15And when I would look at him, I would see such love and admiration,
- 14:22such adoration and such care.
- 14:25And nothing else mattered that was around me because I could see that.
- 14:30And as much as my daddy loved me and as capable as he was, it's nothing compared
- 14:39to my heavenly father who says, look at me. Kim, look at me.
- 14:44Beloved, look unto me. Let go of the world, Kim. There's nothing in it for you.
- 14:53Let go of the hopes and dreams that have fleshly, worldly content.
- 14:58They're so far below what I have for you.
- 15:01Let go, Kim, of the things that hold you down, the weights which so easily beset you.
- 15:09Let go, Kim, and let me have Lorraine.
- 15:12Don't get so stressed out about the obstacles. They're just stepping stones to my glory in you.
- 15:20They're just stepping stones to my growth in you.
- 15:25Kimmy, lean on me and try me at my word.
- 15:31Me. When everything else goes round and round, I'll still stay solid.
- 15:39Do you remember Peter? He's walking on the water because he's looking at him.
- 15:45And suddenly he falls. And immediately, Jesus picks him up.
- 15:51He says, look at me. Focus, Peter.
- 15:55Focus, Kimmy. My friend, I don't know where you are. I don't know what you're doing.
- 16:01And I don't know what lies that Satan has fed you.
- 16:04But he walketh around as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour.
- 16:08And the circumstances of this life may have you looking at him.
- 16:12And the devil may have whispered things in your ears that's caused you to forget that he is enough.
- 16:20And things may have happened that's made you forget that sweet,
- 16:25serene walk that you have with him because you've learned early and long and hard to trust.
- 16:34And when the rest of the world is looking at the things around you,
- 16:37you're so accustomed to looking to him. But something's happened.
- 16:41And the weariness of this life has got you down because you're going in your strength.
- 16:46And you've stopped looking unto him.
- 16:50But now it's a new day. and you've got to do what Peter did.
- 16:57Peter took his eyes off of him like we have, and he fell immediately.
- 17:03But he threw his hands up and he said, save me. And immediately, Jesus saved him.
- 17:10Because see, he's enough. He's all you need. He knows and he cares.
- 17:18In matthew 6 8
- 17:21he wrote these words for you and
- 17:25don't forget them be not you therefore liken to them for your father knoweth
- 17:30what things you have need of before you ask him matthew 6 verses 31 to 33 so
- 17:37beautiful therefore take no thought saying what shall we eat or what shall we drink,
- 17:45or whither well shall we be clothed?
- 17:49For after all these things do the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knoweth
- 17:54that ye have need of all these things.
- 17:57But seek ye first the kingdom of
- 17:59God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.
- 18:07Psalms 91.4 says, He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust.
- 18:18His truth shall be thy shield to protect you and thy buckler to make you strong.
- 18:262 Corinthians 12.9, he said, My grace is sufficient for thee,
- 18:30for my strength is made perfect in weakness.
- 18:33Most gladly, therefore, will I rather glory in my infirmities,
- 18:37that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
- 18:40In 1 Samuel 17.47, he said, David, and all this assembly shall know that the
- 18:47Lord saveth not with sword and spear.
- 18:49For the battle is the Lord's and he will give you into our hands.
- 18:58The battle's not yours and that's a good thing because you can't win it.
- 19:04But greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world.
- 19:10And regardless of where you're standing and what your need is, he is enough.
