- 0:01Speaker 1: Jerry, Katie, and Josh.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Mix 100.
- 0:04Speaker 3: Speaking of big happenings, part of our Mix 100 All
- 0:07Speaker 3: Access Summer, we brought in the band Camino yesterday to
- 0:11Speaker 3: the Mix 100 studios. What a nice bunch of fellas
- 0:15Speaker 3: they were, right?
- 0:16Speaker 4: I loved it.
- 0:17Speaker 1: I loved them.
- 0:18Speaker 2: I was so excited that they came and played some
- 0:21Speaker 2: of their big hits. I know Josh is a big
- 0:23Speaker 2: fan as well.
- 0:24Speaker 4: Yes, they were awesome.
- 0:25Speaker 1: It was like a little mini concert for us. It
- 0:27Speaker 1: was fabulous.
- 0:28Speaker 3: Yeah, they came in, played three of their hits. We
- 0:31Speaker 3: had a full house with a bunch of listeners in here.
- 0:34Speaker 3: We gave them some pizza, and they were able to
- 0:37Speaker 3: ask questions.
- 0:38Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 0:42Speaker 4: During a couple of their songs, the audience was just
- 0:44Speaker 4: singing their hearts out.
- 0:45Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 0:46Speaker 4: Which was really fun to see, right?
- 0:48Speaker 2: That's what we want in here to experience it, too.
- 0:50Speaker 2: I mean, one of their favorite bands up close and
- 0:53Speaker 2: personal like that.
- 0:54Speaker 4: Yeah. I shook so many hands yesterday.
- 0:56Speaker 1: Me, too.
- 0:58Speaker 4: When everybody left, I went right over the sink and
- 1:00Speaker 4: used the antibacterial.
- 1:02Speaker 1: You, the germaphobe, I get it. But it was still fun. Well,
- 1:05Speaker 1: I mean, I just..
- 1:06Speaker 3: There was a few wet hands, you know, I don't
- 1:09Speaker 3: mind shaking hands and meeting people.
- 1:11Speaker 4: No, it wasn't even greasy. It was just wet hands.
- 1:14Speaker 4: I think it was, you know, they're nervous.
- 1:15Speaker 3: A few people were nervous to be in here at
- 1:18Speaker 3: a radio station, meeting on air people and abandoned a
- 1:21Speaker 3: few times. I was like, Oh, that's a wet hand,
- 1:23Speaker 3: isn't it? I think one of my favorite moments from
- 1:26Speaker 3: yesterday though, was, you know, while we're waiting for the
- 1:29Speaker 3: band to arrive, everybody's just kind of hanging out and
- 1:32Speaker 3: we're meeting everybody and we're chowing down on pizza and stuff. And,
- 1:36Speaker 3: We had a few minutes, so I was like, all right,
- 1:38Speaker 3: which one of you wants to come here into the
- 1:39Speaker 3: studio and start the next song?
- 1:42Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, that was fun.
- 1:43Speaker 3: So everybody filed into this room here where all the
- 1:46Speaker 3: controls are. And it's not a massive room, but we
- 1:48Speaker 3: had like 20 people in.
- 1:50Speaker 4: Here all crammed in. And what was her name?
- 1:53Speaker 6: Amanda.
- 1:53Speaker 4: Amanda.
- 1:54Speaker 5: Amanda.
- 1:54Speaker 4: That's right.
- 1:55Speaker 3: Sweet Amanda was the lucky chosen one to start the
- 1:59Speaker 3: next song here at Mixed.
- 2:00Speaker 4: So I took it out of autopilot because we've got
- 2:02Speaker 4: like an autopilot feature.
- 2:03Speaker 3: And she came over and fired the jingle and then, boom,
- 2:06Speaker 3: fired the next song. And everyone was like, yay! Basically,
- 2:11Speaker 3: you can take over the morning show now. You know
- 2:13Speaker 3: what you're doing.
- 2:16Speaker 4: And then for the.
- 2:16Speaker 3: Next five, six minutes, I proceeded to show them all
- 2:20Speaker 3: the other buttons and what things do in here and
- 2:24Speaker 3: where the cameras are and what screen does what. And
- 2:26Speaker 3: during that time, that song had ended, and we forgot
- 2:29Speaker 3: to put it into autopilot.
- 2:30Speaker 1: Oh, no.
- 2:31Speaker 4: So we had about five or six minutes of dead air.
- 2:34Speaker 4: As I'm in here, big shot, showing them.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Everything that we're doing.
- 2:38Speaker 4: It's kind of a big deal.
- 2:39Speaker 3: A lot of years of practice. Total dead air. Big
- 2:43Speaker 3: Rob came running in. He's like, oh, we're off the air.
- 2:46Speaker 4: I was like, yeah, I know. I was showing them
- 2:48Speaker 4: what happens when we're off the air.
- 2:49Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly right.
- 2:50Speaker 4: Don't worry about it, Big Rob. We got it under control.
- 2:57Speaker 4: All right, everybody, hold on to your butts. It's time
- 3:00Speaker 4: for a Mix 100 Sports Report.
- 3:03Speaker 3: I guess the NFL has teamed up with Disney, Champion,
- 3:07Speaker 3: and Fanatics for something pretty ridiculous, but also.
- 3:11Speaker 4: Kind of cutesy and fun.
- 3:13Speaker 3: Every NFL team now has an official Disney-related character pairing.
- 3:19Speaker 4: Okay. It's just a way to cash grab.
- 3:22Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 3:22Speaker 3: So what they're doing is they're going to have a
- 3:24Speaker 3: bunch of merch and, you know, T-shirts and.
- 3:27Speaker 4: Apparel, all sorts of gear.
- 3:30Speaker 3: With Disney characters dressed as the team that they represent, essentially.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Which one is ours?
- 3:35Speaker 4: The Broncos gets Maximus from Tangled. It's that whole horse.
- 3:40Speaker 4: They say he's got.
- 3:40Speaker 3: Toughness, grit, pioneering spirit, everything that's supposed to fit Denver.
- 3:45Speaker 4: So that's what we get is a goofy horse from Tangled. No,
- 3:48Speaker 4: it's an awesome horse. No, he was cool.
- 3:49Speaker 1: He's the best horse.
- 3:50Speaker 4: He's so funny. Okay, fine. Why are you yelling at
- 3:53Speaker 4: me right now?
- 3:53Speaker 1: I love that movie so much.
- 3:54Speaker 4: The Raiders are getting Darth Vader. That's a good look.
- 3:58Speaker 4: The Vikings are getting Thor. The Lions are getting Simba.
- 4:03Speaker 3: The Seattle Seahawks, unfortunately, get the mine, mine, mine seagulls
- 4:07Speaker 3: from Finding Nemo. San Francisco 49ers are getting Stinky Pete
- 4:13Speaker 3: the Prospector from Toy Story.
- 4:16Speaker 4: Washington Commanders get Ham the Pig from Toy Story. Who
- 4:21Speaker 4: else is getting? The Jets are getting Buzz Lightyear. That's
- 4:24Speaker 4: a good one. That's cool.
- 4:26Speaker 3: The Atlanta Falcons are actually getting the Millennium Falcons. So
- 4:29Speaker 3: it's a fun little pairing. It's kind of cutesy for
- 4:31Speaker 3: the season.
- 4:32Speaker 4: I like that.
- 4:33Speaker 3: Helps you get fired up, bringing the bunch of kids
- 4:35Speaker 3: into the football spirit as well, and weird Disney adults.
- 4:38Speaker 3: I would imagine, that have no idea about football, but
- 4:41Speaker 3: now they're like, oh, Captain Hook is part of the
- 4:44Speaker 3: Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
- 4:46Speaker 5: I'm in. Sold.
- 4:49Speaker 4: I feel like I'm Peter Pan. I'm a Disney adult.
- 4:52Speaker 4: I have no friends. All right, so this thing from Ranker.com
- 4:58Speaker 4: is out this morning. They do these polls on there.
- 5:01Speaker 4: And yes, with football season just around the corner, like
- 5:04Speaker 4: the full season.
- 5:05Speaker 3: They're talking about the best tailgating foods. This comes out
- 5:08Speaker 3: every year about this time. No big surprise for number one, hamburgers,
- 5:14Speaker 3: followed by chicken wings, followed by hot dogs.
- 5:17Speaker 4: Yep.
- 5:18Speaker 3: Further down the list, we're getting chocolate brownies. Is that
- 5:21Speaker 3: good tailgating food?
- 5:23Speaker 6: Oh, yeah.
- 5:23Speaker 3: I feel like if you're at the Mile High City,
- 5:25Speaker 3: they're probably spiked, if you know what I mean.
- 5:27Speaker 1: That's probably why they made the list.
- 5:28Speaker 4: With the potweeds. Katie's familiar. Pigs in a Blanket is
- 5:33Speaker 4: on the list. Seven-layer dip.
- 5:35Speaker 6: That's a good one.
- 5:37Speaker 4: Don't go eight, though. That's just too many layers.
- 5:38Speaker 1: It's too many things.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Too thick.
- 5:41Speaker 4: Baked potato skins. Are people bringing baked potato skins to
- 5:44Speaker 4: the tailgates?
- 5:44Speaker 1: Potato skins are good.
- 5:45Speaker 3: Anyway, some of the votes at the very bottom. Peanut
- 5:48Speaker 3: butter and jelly sandwiches. A trail mix? Imagine being the
- 5:53Speaker 3: guy pulling up at a mile high.
- 5:55Speaker 4: Hey, I got trail mix over here.
- 5:57Speaker 1: Peanut butter sandwiches, anybody?
- 5:59Speaker 4: You guys ready for the big game?
- 6:00Speaker 3: I got some oatmeal raisin cookies and some trail mix.
- 6:04Speaker 4: Anybody want some hummus?
- 6:06Speaker 3: I got hummus over here before the big game.
- 6:11Speaker 4: I got a pot of beans. Who wants some beans
- 6:16Speaker 4: and an oatmeal raisin cookie? Yeah, those are at the.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Bottom of the list.
- 6:20Speaker 4: Sounds like a great appearance. I know, right?
- 6:21Speaker 6: Right?
- 6:22Speaker 4: Who wants to know we arrange a cookie before they
- 6:24Speaker 4: go to Hut Hut?
- 6:25Speaker 1: Those are Raider fans.
- 6:26Speaker 4: I know.
- 6:27Speaker 1: That's who's got that grub at their tailgate.
- 6:29Speaker 4: So bad.
- 6:30Speaker 6: Silly.
- 6:31Speaker 4: What else is silly? What else is going on?
- 6:32Speaker 6: All right, we're going to head to Bavaria because I
- 6:35Speaker 6: just found out that they have a thing called the
- 6:37Speaker 6: German Finger Wrestling Championships, and apparently these are so popular.
- 6:42Speaker 6: This is their 65th annual. Finger Wrestling Championship, and it
- 6:46Speaker 6: draws around 150 to 200 competitors. That's what I call
- 6:49Speaker 6: prom night.
- 6:50Speaker 4: Okay. I know. Make all the jokes. The only thing
- 6:53Speaker 4: that I've done... That's what I called my wedding night. Oh, well,
- 6:57Speaker 4: I wanted to talk about this because of where it
- 6:59Speaker 4: takes place, too.
- 7:00Speaker 6: It's in..
- 7:01Speaker 4: Flugdorf Stadium.
- 7:03Speaker 6: I love the German language because everything sounds so funny,
- 7:06Speaker 6: but this is an unusual sport where..
- 7:08Speaker 4: Show me your Flugdorf.
- 7:10Speaker 1: More jokes.
- 7:11Speaker 4: It puts two..
- 7:12Speaker 1: Is that what they call the middle finger?
- 7:13Speaker 4: No, I wasn't referring to the finger. Please continue. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 7:21Speaker 4: Show me your Flugdorf, baby.
- 7:22Speaker 6: It just puts two opponents against each other where they
- 7:24Speaker 6: have to lock fingers at the middle finger and try
- 7:26Speaker 6: to throw their arm off the table, essentially.
- 7:28Speaker 4: Okay.
- 7:29Speaker 1: That's finger wrestling.
- 7:29Speaker 5: Hold on.
- 7:30Speaker 6: The champion Ferdinand talked about how much pain he goes through,
- 7:34Speaker 6: but he keeps coming back every single year to try
- 7:36Speaker 6: to be the Flugdorf champion.
- 7:38Speaker 4: Oh, they keep coming back. I'll tell you that much.
- 7:39Speaker 4: It's what it's called, man. Yeah, they keep coming back.
- 7:41Speaker 4: Flugdorf championship.
- 7:43Speaker 6: It's a centuries-old tradition that continues attracting dedicated competitors each year.
- 7:47Speaker 4: They have a 65-year history of this.
- 7:49Speaker 1: So this is different than thumb wrestling.
- 7:51Speaker 4: Totally. It's your middle fingers. One, two, three, four. I
- 7:54Speaker 4: declare thumb war. Ready, go. Yeah. And go. It's different.
- 8:00Speaker 1: We've got receipts.
- 8:02Speaker 5: We've got drama.
- 8:03Speaker 1: We've got Denver talking.
- 8:05Speaker 4: It's the Mile High Hype.
- 8:06Speaker 1: With JKJ.
- 8:08Speaker 4: Legends and icons.
- 8:09Speaker 1: On Mix 100.
- 8:10Speaker 3: Yeah, the hype is all brought to you by our
- 8:12Speaker 3: good friends at Mountain High Appliance, where you can get
- 8:14Speaker 3: amazing savings throughout all their showrooms, whether you're replacing one
- 8:17Speaker 3: appliance or remodeling an entire ding-dang kitchen. You can find
- 8:21Speaker 3: top brands and expert advice.
- 8:23Speaker 4: Just go to mountainhighappliance.com.
- 8:26Speaker 3: All right, so today the National Park Service turns 110
- 8:31Speaker 3: years old.
- 8:33Speaker 4: So that means you get free admission.
- 8:35Speaker 3: Entrance fees are waived today for U.S. citizens and residents.
- 8:41Speaker 3: So I'm going to head out here in just a
- 8:42Speaker 3: bit and make my way up to Yellowstone.
- 8:44Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:45Speaker 3: But anyway, if you're heading up to, like, Rocky Mountain
- 8:48Speaker 3: National Park today, just know that it's probably going to
- 8:52Speaker 3: be packed.
- 8:53Speaker 4: Free days usually bring in a lot of people.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 8:56Speaker 4: Just a heads up on that. But yeah, that's kind
- 8:59Speaker 4: of fun. That's a nice thing to do is just open.
- 9:01Speaker 3: Up the gates and let people experience some of the
- 9:03Speaker 3: beautiful parks that this country has.
- 9:05Speaker 4: So happy birthday.
- 9:07Speaker 3: Jessica Simpson is going back in front of the reality cameras.
- 9:11Speaker 3: Netflix is making a new documentary about Jessica Simpson more
- 9:15Speaker 3: than 20 years after newlyweds Nick and Jessica died. They
- 9:20Speaker 3: turned their marriage and everyday life into some early 2000s
- 9:24Speaker 3: reality TV.
- 9:25Speaker 4: Gold, didn't they?
- 9:26Speaker 1: Yeah, they sure did.
- 9:27Speaker 4: That's where we got the chicken of the sea, right?
- 9:29Speaker 5: Yes.
- 9:30Speaker 4: It says, check it out, it says Tona.
- 9:32Speaker 3: The new series will cover Jessica Simpson's music career, her
- 9:36Speaker 3: personal life, business success, as she's.
- 9:40Speaker 4: I guess, Is she trying to get back out there?
- 9:43Speaker 4: Is she dropping new music?
- 9:44Speaker 1: I haven't heard.
- 9:45Speaker 2: I haven't either, but she always has something going on, right?
- 9:48Speaker 2: Whether it's fashion, makeup.
- 9:50Speaker 4: That's the thing. She's got that fashion line. Isn't she
- 9:53Speaker 4: a billionaire? She's got a book, too. Absolutely.
- 9:56Speaker 1: No, she did well.
- 9:57Speaker 4: She doesn't need this goofy TV series. Why is she
- 10:00Speaker 4: doing this?
- 10:01Speaker 1: Maybe she misses it.
- 10:02Speaker 4: I guess.
- 10:03Speaker 3: I guess once you reach that level of celebrity, maybe
- 10:06Speaker 3: you just kind of crave the attention still.
- 10:08Speaker 4: Absolutely.
- 10:08Speaker 2: And I think, like, there's a whole generation who don't
- 10:11Speaker 2: really know who she is.
- 10:12Speaker 4: Yeah, there is that.
- 10:13Speaker 1: This is a way for her to get back out
- 10:15Speaker 1: in front of people.
- 10:15Speaker 2: And, I mean, reality shows, they can spawn a whole new,
- 10:19Speaker 2: you know, celebrity.
- 10:21Speaker 1: So who knows?
- 10:21Speaker 4: She might find..
- 10:22Speaker 1: A brand new audience.
- 10:23Speaker 4: I'm just in the mindset of, I had a billion dollars.
- 10:25Speaker 3: I would just disappear and live my life.
- 10:27Speaker 4: Leave me alone. I don't need that social media headaches.
- 10:30Speaker 4: I would own a mountain. Yes.
- 10:32Speaker 3: I would buy a mountain, get a mountain and dig
- 10:34Speaker 3: a hole and live inside the mountain.
- 10:36Speaker 4: This is what I would do.
- 10:37Speaker 2: All right.
- 10:37Speaker 3: So if you got a little baby human child brewing
- 10:40Speaker 3: inside you right now, and you're trying to think of
- 10:44Speaker 3: a name, uh, there's an emerging trend right now. Um,
- 10:48Speaker 3: Naming your kids after weapons is a big thing right now.
- 10:53Speaker 3: Some of the names that are popping, Gunner, Caliber, Trigger, Blade, Cannon, Remington, Beretta, Colt, Ruger.
- 11:05Speaker 4: Very strong masculine names, I guess.
- 11:09Speaker 3: A lot of people are wondering, though, are these going
- 11:11Speaker 3: to become a little too aggressive in the naming department,
- 11:14Speaker 3: a little too violent?
- 11:16Speaker 4: At what point do we say, you can't name your
- 11:18Speaker 4: baby Tank?
- 11:19Speaker 1: Well, let's be honest.
- 11:20Speaker 2: In this day and age, somebody's going to get offended.
- 11:23Speaker 2: Somebody's going to get offended by your baby named Trigger.
- 11:26Speaker 4: I know.
- 11:27Speaker 5: They are.
- 11:27Speaker 4: This is my son Trigger.
- 11:29Speaker 1: This is going to happen.
- 11:31Speaker 3: Weapons-inspired names. They say give your kid a renegade spirit.
- 11:36Speaker 3: Maverick is ranking higher than ever. Cowboy-style names like Dutton, Stetson,
- 11:41Speaker 3: and Boone are climbing on the charts. But yeah, they're
- 11:44Speaker 3: saying just strong, independent, masculine names are popping right now.
- 11:48Speaker 3: This is my son, Bazooka, and my daughter, Hypersonic Missile.
- 11:57Speaker 3: They are saying that some of these names could.
- 12:00Speaker 4: Come with baggage. It could become a joke down the road, obviously, right?
- 12:04Speaker 1: Come on.
- 12:06Speaker 4: Landmine. How come nobody picks you for Tetherball? Poor little Landmine.
- 12:12Speaker 1: Poor fellas.
- 12:12Speaker 3: All right, then one quick final thing. We know a
- 12:14Speaker 3: little bit more about Frozen 3 now. Disney revealed some details.
- 12:19Speaker 3: Anna and Kristoff are getting married, and there's a new
- 12:23Speaker 3: villain coming, and apparently Olaf is getting a love interest
- 12:28Speaker 3: named Samantha.
- 12:29Speaker 1: There's going to be a third one?
- 12:31Speaker 3: Yeah, so there's a third Frozen coming out because it's
- 12:34Speaker 3: a cash grab.
- 12:35Speaker 4: Each one's made like a billion dollars.
- 12:37Speaker 1: They're not just going to let it go?
- 12:38Speaker 5: No.
- 12:39Speaker 4: Let it go. Let it go.
- 12:44Speaker 3: No, they're saying, hey, we've got to get Olaf a girlfriend,
- 12:46Speaker 3: and he's going to do some freaky stuff with that
- 12:48Speaker 3: carrot nose.
- 12:49Speaker 2: Those little stick arms. Has anyone seen my carrot nose?
- 12:57Speaker 4: Okay, there you go. What else you got?
- 13:01Speaker 2: All right, well, United making some pretty big news today,
- 13:04Speaker 2: actually announcing the largest international network expansion in company history today.
- 13:11Speaker 2: So they announced 10 new international cities across Europe and
- 13:15Speaker 2: Asia out of some of its hubs in like San
- 13:18Speaker 2: Fran and Washington and whatnot. But they're also launching a
- 13:21Speaker 2: nonstop daily service from DIA today.
- 13:24Speaker 1: To paris beginning in.
- 13:26Speaker 5: May people are really excited about that i mean before
- 13:29Speaker 5: it took you a few stops to get out there
- 13:31Speaker 5: to the city you love and now non-stop flight right
- 13:35Speaker 5: there to the tower i.
- 13:36Speaker 3: See london i see france i see katie's underpants i'd
- 13:41Speaker 3: be singing that on that airplane the whole time pick
- 13:44Speaker 3: a different person in each row put.
- 13:45Speaker 1: Your butt with the luggage That's what I do.
- 13:48Speaker 4: Okay.
- 13:49Speaker 1: They're also debuting the newest.
- 13:51Speaker 2: International aircraft for all of this stuff.
- 13:55Speaker 1: It's called the A321XLR.
- 13:57Speaker 4: I'm going to name my baby that.
- 13:58Speaker 2: It's called Born to Explore. So, yeah, a lot of
- 14:02Speaker 2: big things coming for United.
- 14:04Speaker 4: Side note, my wife is not pregnant.
- 14:05Speaker 3: All right.
- 14:06Speaker 4: What else you got?
- 14:06Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
- 14:08Speaker 4: Waiting for the text. Jeremy, I didn't know you guys
- 14:10Speaker 4: were expecting again.
- 14:11Speaker 1: Clarify that.
- 14:12Speaker 4: Okay.
- 14:13Speaker 2: And then this story coming out of the week. Wheat
- 14:15Speaker 2: Ridge Police Department residents and the PD there have noted
- 14:19Speaker 2: a major surge in the use of e-bikes.
- 14:24Speaker 4: A lot of them.
- 14:24Speaker 1: A lot of them are out and about.
- 14:26Speaker 2: I mean, I think this really started popping off after
- 14:28Speaker 2: those organized rides where you had like hundreds of e-bikes
- 14:33Speaker 2: and motorbikes lining the street, not paying attention to street lights,
- 14:38Speaker 2: really causing a ruckus, particularly along the Clear Creek Greenbelt
- 14:43Speaker 2: is where they're really seeing a lot of this activity.
- 14:46Speaker 1: But they're considering putting some things like that.
- 14:48Speaker 4: Hey, Dan. Excuse me, how many wattage is that motor.
- 14:53Speaker 1: There you have on your e-bike?
- 15:13Speaker 2: Start really cracking down on this stuff. So now they're
- 15:16Speaker 2: thinking about putting speed limits on the trails.
- 15:21Speaker 1: So you're going to see.
- 15:21Speaker 4: Oh, that'll be fine.
- 15:23Speaker 2: On the trails, requirements when it comes to helmets for minors,
- 15:27Speaker 2: which I think they.
- 15:27Speaker 4: Should do anyway. There goes all the fun.
- 15:29Speaker 1: And then restrictions on some of these vehicles on the path.
- 15:32Speaker 2: So, yeah, they're really going to start cracking down because
- 15:35Speaker 2: people can't be smart.
- 15:37Speaker 1: Like, just be smart about it. Don't try and take
- 15:39Speaker 1: out somebody walking their trail.
- 15:41Speaker 4: No, obviously, yes, be careful and stuff.
- 15:43Speaker 3: But it's like if nobody's out there, zip around, have
- 15:47Speaker 3: some fun. Do they have trails where the e-bikes can
- 15:49Speaker 3: go and just tear it up? Can we start having
- 15:52Speaker 3: those areas now?
- 15:53Speaker 2: Yes, that is what they're trying to get, you know,
- 15:56Speaker 2: a place where people can go and tear it up,
- 15:58Speaker 2: as you said, Jer, so they don't have to do
- 16:01Speaker 2: that on the path.
- 16:02Speaker 4: Because it's fun.
- 16:03Speaker 1: It is fun, but there are people and dogs walking.
- 16:05Speaker 4: On those trails. I know, but I want areas then
- 16:07Speaker 4: that I can go and open that baby up.
- 16:09Speaker 5: Yes.
- 16:09Speaker 4: You know, fast and furious. I live my life a
- 16:12Speaker 4: quarter mile at a time on my e-bike.
- 16:14Speaker 5: Yes.
- 16:14Speaker 4: They see me rolling, they hate it.
- 16:17Speaker 1: That dang song. Okay.
- 16:19Speaker 2: So they're trying to figure out a timeline and everything.
- 16:21Speaker 2: So just so you know, that's in the works.
- 16:23Speaker 1: And then it is here. It's here. fat marmot week
- 16:27Speaker 1: is upon us.
- 16:27Speaker 4: Leave my mother-in-law out of this.
- 16:29Speaker 1: I'm so excited. You can vote for your favorite chubby
- 16:31Speaker 1: marmot all week long.
- 16:33Speaker 2: Yeah. This is coming out of Crested Butte and it's
- 16:35Speaker 2: the Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory's Marmot Project who's behind it.
- 16:40Speaker 2: They're inviting the public to join in in the voting
- 16:43Speaker 2: for a tournament style competition. So there's a bunch of
- 16:46Speaker 2: different marmots that you can choose from and they're getting
- 16:49Speaker 2: people excited about the alpine residents by really highlighting the
- 16:53Speaker 2: unique summer process. So This is why they're fat. The
- 16:57Speaker 2: animals they feed almost constantly on grass and wildflowers, roughly
- 17:02Speaker 2: doubling their body weight as they prepare for about five
- 17:04Speaker 2: months of hibernation.
- 17:05Speaker 4: So they just never stop eating. They don't stop eating.
- 17:07Speaker 4: It's like people at the Golden Corral. Exactly.
- 17:10Speaker 1: It's like their own endless buffet.
- 17:14Speaker 3: Is that a chocolate fountain over there?
- 17:18Speaker 2: What?
- 17:20Speaker 5: What?
- 17:20Speaker 4: They're on their e-scooters.
- 17:21Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 17:22Speaker 1: I love it.
- 17:23Speaker 2: So voting goes until Friday at FatMarmotWeek.com, but we're going
- 17:27Speaker 2: to crown that little Gordo winner on Saturday.
- 17:29Speaker 5: I'm so excited.
- 17:30Speaker 4: What a cute little competition.
- 17:31Speaker 1: Little fat little marmot baby.
- 17:33Speaker 4: Your mom's a fat marmot?
- 17:36Speaker 5: Yeah.
