- 0:02Speaker 1: Always feels like a lot's happening.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Things are busy, of course news but you had a
- 0:08Speaker 2: busy weekend.
- 0:08Speaker 1: I had a busy morning.
- 0:13Speaker 3: The Nigerian Prince.
- 0:14Speaker 1: Yeah, no, he didn't want money. He wanted my body.
- 0:19Speaker 1: They didn't want money.
- 0:21Speaker 2: First time I ever entertained a scam call because they
- 0:24Speaker 2: didn't ask for money.
- 0:25Speaker 1: They just wanted me to show up at the what
- 0:27Speaker 1: is it.
- 0:27Speaker 3: Called clerk usually the clerk of the courts.
- 0:30Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what they wanted me to do. They wanted
- 0:31Speaker 2: me to drive over to the clerk of the courts
- 0:33Speaker 2: and I was like right now and they were like, yeah,
- 0:34Speaker 2: you miss Jerry, dude, can you sign this thing?
- 0:36Speaker 3: And I was like, can you sign this thing?
- 0:38Speaker 1: Well, they were more eloquent.
- 0:40Speaker 2: They had all the case number, this, that, whatever, all
- 0:42Speaker 2: my information besides socials, so they were pretty buttoned up.
- 0:45Speaker 2: And I was like, you don't need money. They're like, no, no,
- 0:48Speaker 2: we need you to show up to sign a thing.
- 0:53Speaker 2: All right, Well, I mean I do taekwondo krats, So
- 0:56Speaker 2: I feel like I'm ready.
- 0:58Speaker 4: Is that how the White Sox are going to get
- 0:59Speaker 4: a free agent? They're calling them and scamming people will
- 1:02Speaker 4: be like show up at Chicago at the stadium, and
- 1:06Speaker 4: we'll give you many American monies to play the game
- 1:10Speaker 4: of baseball.
- 1:10Speaker 3: Ah, got you? You signed it?
- 1:13Speaker 1: That's rude.
- 1:14Speaker 3: We have a Sean Newcomb's coming on today and he's nice.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly. We have a white Sox player. Actually, we've
- 1:19Speaker 1: had almost all of them besides Murakami. I mean, Anthony
- 1:21Speaker 1: Day was on the other day.
- 1:22Speaker 3: How do we get Murakami?
- 1:25Speaker 2: It's all you I heard you're the Markammi whisper. Where
- 1:29Speaker 2: you're going to be? What if he shows up and
- 1:31Speaker 2: he's like, they're like favorite white sock and he's like
- 1:34Speaker 2: Perzinski should be, then you're in should be like Harry Ford. Henry,
- 1:41Speaker 2: Harry Henry's the truck guy, the Ford guy. All Right, anyway,
- 1:45Speaker 2: I'm on low sleep.
- 1:47Speaker 1: Let's get to a little bit of news. They did it.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Do you see this shirt?
- 1:56Speaker 3: I know, I can't believe you're wearing that North Side Territory.
- 1:59Speaker 1: The cub did it.
- 2:01Speaker 2: It's the great show, by the way, should check it
- 2:02Speaker 2: out or the merch Alex Bregman is a Chicago Cup.
- 2:05Speaker 2: How shocked were you and you were in Chicago on
- 2:07Speaker 2: the scene. We almost went live to Pruzinski on the
- 2:10Speaker 2: scene in Chicago and.
- 2:11Speaker 3: Soldier Field and snow Yeah Live to AJ watching those
- 2:16Speaker 3: Packers lose and then crying about it. Poor guys. I
- 2:23Speaker 3: didn't really this didn't really come out in the stadium
- 2:25Speaker 3: until the game was kind of over ish, and so
- 2:28Speaker 3: then people as were as I was walking out, because
- 2:30Speaker 3: if you've never been to Soldier Field, you got to
- 2:32Speaker 3: walk out like two miles to get anywhere because we
- 2:35Speaker 3: didn't park, we didn't drive a car at a car service,
- 2:37Speaker 3: so you have to walk like forever to get out,
- 2:40Speaker 3: and that people were kind of clamoring about it as
- 2:43Speaker 3: we're walking. Then I just checking my phone and I
- 2:45Speaker 3: was like, oh, wow, this is pretty awesome. But you know,
- 2:47Speaker 3: the Bulls won, the Blackhawks one, the Bears one, and
- 2:50Speaker 3: the cub signed Alex Bregman in like a twenty five
- 2:52Speaker 3: minute span. So it was a pretty pretty cool moment
- 2:56Speaker 3: to be in the city of Chicago and people were
- 2:58Speaker 3: very excited. Listen, I love this song. It's a lot
- 3:01Speaker 3: five one seive. What do you do with Matt Seawan?
- 3:03Speaker 4: Now?
- 3:04Speaker 3: Do you trade them? Do you make them a super
- 3:05Speaker 3: utility guy? What do you do there?
- 3:07Speaker 1: Yeah? Trade Matt sha so young?
- 3:09Speaker 3: Okay, do you trade Nico.
- 3:10Speaker 1: Horner, then I wouldn't.
- 3:11Speaker 2: There's a great article by Northside Territory hosts Jadeve Sharman
- 3:14Speaker 2: in The Athletic about why they should.
- 3:16Speaker 1: Just roll with it.
- 3:18Speaker 3: I agree, Listen, I think they're finally act. This is
- 3:20Speaker 3: finally a move they act like a big market team.
- 3:23Speaker 3: So I love this move for the Cubs. And that's
- 3:24Speaker 3: hard for me to say, as everyone knows he brings leadership,
- 3:27Speaker 3: he brings defensive third, he'll hit you some homers, and
- 3:30Speaker 3: from everything you've talked to hear from people is he
- 3:32Speaker 3: makes every player better, a younger players, better, veterans player
- 3:36Speaker 3: because of his preparation and the way he teaches people
- 3:38Speaker 3: what he looks for. So this is a great move
- 3:41Speaker 3: for them, and the congratulations code fans. He actually Cubs
- 3:45Speaker 3: actually are acting like they're the Cubs, and this is
- 3:47Speaker 3: a move that they did that. And to me, I
- 3:52Speaker 3: think with the moves they've made Drenth in the bullpen,
- 3:55Speaker 3: adding rotation, and now you add Bregman, there's got to
- 3:59Speaker 3: be the favorites in the central Really, people say the Brewers,
- 4:02Speaker 3: the Brewers, the Brewers. Yeah, this move, the moves they
- 4:05Speaker 3: made with Hunter Harvey and some of the other bullpen
- 4:08Speaker 3: moves they made, and then strengthening some positions like benchwise.
- 4:13Speaker 3: I think they're probably the favor right now. I know
- 4:16Speaker 3: Krats is gonna say no, and everyone else is gonna
- 4:18Speaker 3: say what the Brewers find a way to do it
- 4:19Speaker 3: every year, But I mean this move really helps. It does,
- 4:22Speaker 3: especially if the Brewers trade Freddy p then I'm.
- 4:24Speaker 2: Like, that's what I wanted to ask Krats. Krats, do
- 4:26Speaker 2: you think that the Cubs are the front runners in
- 4:28Speaker 2: the division now? And if the Brewers trade Freddy prawlte
- 4:32Speaker 2: does that change your mind?
- 4:35Speaker 4: Oh, the Brewers trade Freddy p Yes for sure, because
- 4:38Speaker 4: everybody else you're just trying to fill in that rotation.
- 4:40Speaker 4: Nobody would fill in for what Freddy gave them last year.
- 4:46Speaker 4: Are the Brewers in eighty seven win team this year
- 4:48Speaker 4: like they're predicted?
- 4:51Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 4:52Speaker 4: Like, obviously we're not supposed to bet against the Brewers
- 4:54Speaker 4: because they just keep showing the naysayers wrong. But the Cubs,
- 5:00Speaker 4: the Cubs, to me, they're not quite back offensively to
- 5:04Speaker 4: the point where what they what they had from Tucker
- 5:07Speaker 4: last year, even though he faded in the end. Bregman's
- 5:10Speaker 4: not going to give them all of that, but you know,
- 5:15Speaker 4: is this an upgrade, It'll be an upgrade based on
- 5:18Speaker 4: how they deploy the rest of their roster, their rest
- 5:21Speaker 4: their roster, their position player roster is. To me, it's
- 5:27Speaker 4: it's really good. Is it better than last year? And
- 5:30Speaker 4: last year's offense was clicking, was holding them together, and
- 5:34Speaker 4: then you know they went.
- 5:35Speaker 3: Through some ups and downs.
- 5:36Speaker 4: So I think, are they the are they the favorite?
- 5:40Speaker 4: I would kind of lean towards yes, but I'm not
- 5:44Speaker 4: one hundred percent convinced yet, just because it seven straight
- 5:47Speaker 4: years the Brewers have done, you know, have won more games,
- 5:51Speaker 4: and everybody thinks they're gonna win.
- 5:57Speaker 1: Well and fruit offensively. They lose Kyle Tucker, but.
- 6:02Speaker 3: They can't do anything for him the entire second half.
- 6:04Speaker 3: He was hurt. Yeah, it did to almost nothing in
- 6:07Speaker 3: the first July on he was really he didn't do
- 6:10Speaker 3: a whole on there and honestly their whole production window.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Yeah, they were I think twentieth in runs in the
- 6:16Speaker 2: second half after I think they finished all really high
- 6:21Speaker 2: mark like maybe five six something like that, and run scored,
- 6:24Speaker 2: and I know run scored is not the perfect stat
- 6:26Speaker 2: you know, factor in ballpark, all of that although the
- 6:28Speaker 2: Cubs ballpark can get so pretty dicey, uh these days
- 6:33Speaker 2: for hitters, Yes.
- 6:35Speaker 4: My thing is, my thing is doesn't make them. The
- 6:38Speaker 4: question is are they better? Do you get another year
- 6:41Speaker 4: of like Matt Shaw? Offensively, yes, Bregman's a an upgrade
- 6:45Speaker 4: over him, But like in the second half, you talk
- 6:48Speaker 4: about what they didn't do in the second half, PA
- 6:52Speaker 4: all Star, he creator, he started creating a little bit
- 6:55Speaker 4: before the All Star Game. Saya Suzuki should have been
- 6:58Speaker 4: an All Star. Cratered in the second half as far
- 7:01Speaker 4: as like number stats wise, Kyle Tucker was obviously going
- 7:06Speaker 4: through injuries that have been well documented. So does signing
- 7:11Speaker 4: Bregman somehow help the whole team from not cratering in
- 7:17Speaker 4: the second half.
- 7:19Speaker 3: I don't know. But if you're looking at.
- 7:20Speaker 4: Making it, because they make teams right now in the offseason,
- 7:24Speaker 4: they make them based on projections, based on your war
- 7:29Speaker 4: what kind of defensive value you're gonna get in everything?
- 7:31Speaker 4: And Bragman is not an upgrade over Tucker? Is he
- 7:36Speaker 4: an upgrade to this team without Tucker? Obviously he's an
- 7:40Speaker 4: upgrade just hand in hand to Matt Shall. Yeah, people
- 7:44Speaker 4: are gonna argue Shaw's war was pretty close to the same.
- 7:47Speaker 4: He had good defense. I get it. But to me,
- 7:50Speaker 4: this is a good job by by Jed Hoyer looking
- 7:53Speaker 4: ahead and saying, Nico Horner is gonna be a free agent.
- 7:56Speaker 4: We signed him to a nice little three year, thirty
- 7:58Speaker 4: five million dollar deal to get this one extra year
- 8:02Speaker 4: of free agency, and next year he'll be a free agent.
- 8:05Speaker 4: Does that mean Shaw moves a second? Does that mean
- 8:07Speaker 4: Bregman moves the second Shaw comes back to third? To me,
- 8:10Speaker 4: if i'm them, I don't trade any of those guys.
- 8:13Speaker 4: It is a good thing to have a lot of depth.
- 8:16Speaker 4: It's gonna suck for somebody to not get the full
- 8:19Speaker 4: one hundred and fifty at bats that you know you're
- 8:22Speaker 4: probably gonna lose. But then next year they slot in
- 8:25Speaker 4: and they play. You know you have your second and
- 8:27Speaker 4: third basement for the future.
- 8:31Speaker 2: Hey, make good eats at home part of your twenty
- 8:33Speaker 2: twenty six New Year's resolution.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Hello, fresh is what we're talking about.
- 8:38Speaker 3: Here, steaks, seafood, whatever options you want. They have stone
- 8:41Speaker 3: fruit to corn on the cups. God, I know you're
- 8:44Speaker 3: a big stone fruit fan.

- 8:46Speaker 3: I've tried a lot of things but Hello Fresh always delivers.

- 9:25Speaker 2: box new subscribers only varies by a plan get America's
- 9:30Speaker 2: number one meal kit Hello Fresh. Also, injuries happened. I
- 9:34Speaker 2: mean Bregman played what one fourteen this past season. Depth matters,
- 9:39Speaker 2: and yes, it might suck for a year. If everybody
- 9:42Speaker 2: just happens to be super healthy and wants to play
- 9:44Speaker 2: every day, somebody is going to be pissed off. But
- 9:46Speaker 2: let that be the worst problem, because the Cubs should
- 9:49Speaker 2: be a more successful ball club. I just don't see
- 9:53Speaker 2: a world where the Cubs are going to get better
- 9:54Speaker 2: by trading Nico Horner. If they're going to trade him,
- 9:56Speaker 2: they're likely getting minor league specs back. Is that really
- 10:01Speaker 2: what you want to do at this point? If we're
- 10:03Speaker 2: playing the numbers game right in baseball and you're looking
- 10:06Speaker 2: at the war statistic, I mean, I believe Nico Horner
- 10:09Speaker 2: was at or above Bragman. He was definitely above him
- 10:12Speaker 2: on baseball reference to.
- 10:13Speaker 1: This past season he was.
- 10:14Speaker 2: He was six point two on b WAR, fourth among
- 10:17Speaker 2: NL position players. I'm bringing this up because a version
- 10:21Speaker 2: of this is what many front offices look at. So
- 10:23Speaker 2: I'm like, if you add Bragman, you freaking keep Nico
- 10:26Speaker 2: Horner and also have a super tight defense.
- 10:30Speaker 1: Look at that defense now, they're.
- 10:31Speaker 3: All about run saved. Yeah, defensive tight Yeah.
- 10:36Speaker 2: So I don't even think you entertain it. Nico's making
- 10:40Speaker 2: twelve million dollars this coming season. All good operate like
- 10:45Speaker 2: a big market ball club, have a good time, and
- 10:47Speaker 2: enjoy a guy who has looked at as one of
- 10:49Speaker 2: the team leaders.
- 10:50Speaker 1: Craig Council spoke about him at the winter meetings.
- 10:52Speaker 2: This was Insideed Charma's article, and he said, Nico's great
- 10:55Speaker 2: at something I think other people think they're good at
- 10:58Speaker 2: and they're not good at it.
- 11:00Speaker 1: I'm not talking about just players. I'm talking about people.
- 11:02Speaker 2: When he's talking about reps and completing it perfectly and
- 11:04Speaker 2: all of that, right, and he's saying, some guys think
- 11:06Speaker 2: they're good and they're not that good at all of
- 11:08Speaker 2: the press.
- 11:09Speaker 3: By the way, as much as we're hyping through Cubs
- 11:12Speaker 3: at this, what about the Red Sox.
- 11:13Speaker 1: We're gonna get to the Red Sox have Pap joining
- 11:15Speaker 1: us soon.
- 11:16Speaker 3: The Red Sox, this is a this was a huge
- 11:18Speaker 3: piece of their team last year. What do they do?
- 11:20Speaker 3: I mean, I know they went on and got Sonny
- 11:22Speaker 3: Grand I know they went out and got Wilson and Treres,
- 11:24Speaker 3: but they they have a whole at third base and
- 11:26Speaker 3: second base right because they were most I think I
- 11:29Speaker 3: think most Red Sox fans were like, Ah, we'll keep Bragman,
- 11:31Speaker 3: We'll bring Bregman back and then we'll figure out second base.
- 11:34Speaker 3: Whether so, does this bring Boba shit into the Red
- 11:37Speaker 3: Sox land of opportunity?
- 11:39Speaker 2: Yeah, he's gonna cost more and there's other teams involved.
- 11:42Speaker 2: My thing is, if you really wanted Bregman, you couldn't
- 11:44Speaker 2: just figure this shit out.
- 11:46Speaker 3: I love Chris Catillo's text too or tweet by the way.
- 11:48Speaker 3: What so they traded Devers for a one year of
- 11:51Speaker 3: Alex Bregman and now they don't have either one correct
- 11:54Speaker 3: and now they're searching for a third baseman.
- 11:56Speaker 1: Again, had that opt out go? Here's the thing I.
- 11:59Speaker 3: Think, I honestly believe that every Red Sox fan the
- 12:02Speaker 3: last path when he comes on, thought that this was
- 12:04Speaker 3: a done deal, like he's oh, he's coming back, he's
- 12:07Speaker 3: good too. Why would any why would anybody ever walk
- 12:10Speaker 3: away from the high and mighty Red Sox. Why would
- 12:12Speaker 3: anybody ever leave the Red Sox, especially we made the playoffs.
- 12:15Speaker 3: Him and ac are tied, Alex Cora and now all
- 12:18Speaker 3: of a sudden, here he is boom on the Cubs.
- 12:21Speaker 2: Five years, won seventy five mil, seventy million dollars in
- 12:24Speaker 2: deferrals for Bregnant and what it seems like, and this
- 12:28Speaker 2: was first I think reported from Sean McAdam, is that
- 12:31Speaker 2: the Red Sox would not go past five years, one
- 12:34Speaker 2: sixty five mil. That was their final offer, with significant
- 12:38Speaker 2: deferrals that were going to be paid out later than
- 12:40Speaker 2: the Cubs too. So it actually then his present value gets.
- 12:43Speaker 1: It to distant.
- 12:45Speaker 3: The Red Sox made an offer early in the off season.
- 12:49Speaker 3: Whatever that was, let's say five one fifty. I don't know.
- 12:52Speaker 3: These are not the real numbers. Okay, I don't know
- 12:54Speaker 3: the real numbers.
- 12:55Speaker 1: Okay.
- 12:56Speaker 3: They made an offer at Alex Pragman early in the
- 12:58Speaker 3: offseason and said here it is, and then his camp
- 13:01Speaker 3: kept going back saying that's not our market. Our market's
- 13:03Speaker 3: higher than that, and it made Alex a little bit
- 13:05Speaker 3: mad and they would not move. So then the Red
- 13:08Speaker 3: Sox were like, okay, well take it or leave it,
- 13:10Speaker 3: and they will not budge. Then Bregman's camp with Boris
- 13:13Speaker 3: goes back to him and says, hey, we have a
- 13:15Speaker 3: higher offer and we're gonna probably take it, and the
- 13:17Speaker 3: Red Sox were like, we don't believe you. If you
- 13:21Speaker 3: can do it, do it. And then they said, okay,
- 13:23Speaker 3: well we're gonna sign. We're not telling you the number.
- 13:25Speaker 3: We're gonna sign with a different team. And that's when
- 13:27Speaker 3: the Red Sox went to this five one sixty five.
- 13:29Speaker 3: But Bregman was already one mad and two had a
- 13:31Speaker 3: higher offer. And the longer the more they tried to
- 13:35Speaker 3: stretch it out, the longer and farther down the road
- 13:38Speaker 3: the deferrals got so Bregman's like, I'm getting more money
- 13:42Speaker 3: in a shorter amount of time. I'm going to the cob.
- 13:45Speaker 3: What does he owe the Red Sox Nothing, That's what
- 13:47Speaker 3: I'm saying. But the Red Sox literally would not move
- 13:50Speaker 3: and would not budget, really wouldn't negotiate until it was
- 13:53Speaker 3: almost Well, it wasn't almost too late, it was too late.
- 13:56Speaker 3: And now they're like, uh, we messed that one up.
- 13:58Speaker 3: And now obviously Red Sox fans are flipping out about it.
- 14:01Speaker 2: Yeah, and Cubs fans should be thrilled. They went through
- 14:04Speaker 2: this last year, Kratz. Last year, the Cubs were trying
- 14:08Speaker 2: to play ball for Bragman and very interested in him
- 14:10Speaker 2: and didn't land him.
- 14:11Speaker 1: So did the Tigers.
- 14:12Speaker 3: And the Tigers, from what I heard, did this to
- 14:14Speaker 3: Pregmant last year, the same thing that the Red Sox
- 14:17Speaker 3: did this year. They said, here's an offer, take it
- 14:20Speaker 3: or leave it. We don't know who your market is.
- 14:22Speaker 1: Six s one point five, by the way, was the
- 14:24Speaker 1: number last year.
- 14:25Speaker 3: Okay, Well, they wouldn't move though, again that was.
- 14:28Speaker 1: The highest they'd go.
- 14:29Speaker 3: They wouldn't move. Yeah, And so Bregman was like, well,
- 14:31Speaker 3: I can get opt out or do you get this
- 14:32Speaker 3: opt out deal with the Red Sox. And then he
- 14:35Speaker 3: got his five one to seventy five, so we got
- 14:37Speaker 3: six almost two hundred you count the one year in Boston.
- 14:42Speaker 2: Yeah, two hundred plus and deferrals make it a little murky,
- 14:44Speaker 2: but he got way whatever he got more. Yes, it's
- 14:47Speaker 2: sometimes difficult to do the present day value on the
- 14:50Speaker 2: fly like that when you're doing comps from past years.
- 14:52Speaker 1: But regardless, yeah, he did better. He got what he
- 14:55Speaker 1: wanted deal done.
- 14:57Speaker 2: And actually when you look at it, it's not crazy, right,
- 15:00Speaker 2: five one seventy five and there's deferrals there, So we'll
- 15:03Speaker 2: figure out what the exact n.
- 15:04Speaker 3: Hit we hit the Ballinger later in the show. I
- 15:06Speaker 3: want to talk about some stuff too there just one
- 15:09Speaker 3: could affect the other and how this just because we
- 15:12Speaker 3: had a whole thing on this on Friday, Crawts, you
- 15:14Speaker 3: were on, but I went on a little bit about
- 15:16Speaker 3: Bellinger and what, you know, what his market might look like.
- 15:18Speaker 3: And I've talked to some people and it's been clarified
- 15:20Speaker 3: a little bit for me. So we'll see how Bregman
- 15:23Speaker 3: affects Bellinger. Talk about it.
- 15:24Speaker 1: But for Bregman, no trade clause, no opt outs. This
- 15:30Speaker 1: is it good?
- 15:31Speaker 3: Yeah, that's it, Fred and seventy five million Alex. This
- 15:35Speaker 3: is it baby, all right?
- 15:37Speaker 2: So what's next? Who is next to sign? Will it
- 15:40Speaker 2: be the Yankee signing Cody Bellinger?
- 15:42Speaker 1: Not?
- 15:43Speaker 2: According to Buster Only, He said the Yankees are now
- 15:46Speaker 2: operating under the assumption that Bellinger is going to sign elsewhere.
- 15:52Speaker 1: Yeah, posturing by the Yanks to be like, well, that's it.
- 15:57Speaker 3: They just they have a five year deal on the
- 15:59Speaker 3: table and now they're like, oh, he's not taking it,
- 16:01Speaker 3: so we're gonna move on.
- 16:03Speaker 2: Yeah, we think it's five thirty and they're like, ugh,
- 16:05Speaker 2: you don't appreciate it.
- 16:06Speaker 3: Has not been offered a six year deal according to
- 16:08Speaker 3: the Numeros sources, so maybe it's five. Okay.
- 16:11Speaker 1: If it's not six, then it's four or five.
- 16:13Speaker 3: Much right now? And I learned. I've learned a lot
- 16:15Speaker 3: since we talked to Bellinger last time. First of all,
- 16:17Speaker 3: I was told that the Bragman signings should open up
- 16:19Speaker 3: the free some free agents signings other ones. Now there's
- 16:22Speaker 3: a little bit more of an established market. Second of all,
- 16:26Speaker 3: we had a whole conversation. I was like, if you
- 16:27Speaker 3: go back this many years. You know, da da da
- 16:29Speaker 3: da dad. What I was told is teams usually an
- 16:31Speaker 3: agents only go back three the last three years for
- 16:34Speaker 3: comps for comps.
- 16:36Speaker 1: Now agents do that or teams do that?
- 16:38Speaker 3: I think both both.
- 16:39Speaker 1: Okay.
- 16:40Speaker 3: So then the other thing that's interesting to me is
- 16:42Speaker 3: you can make an argument, and certain people make this
- 16:44Speaker 3: argument that Bellinger for the last three years has actually
- 16:46Speaker 3: been better than Bragman. Andy's two years younger. I'm not
- 16:50Speaker 3: saying that he gets more than Bragman, but I'm saying
- 16:54Speaker 3: some people out there could think it could make You
- 16:56Speaker 3: could make a case that he should get more than
- 16:58Speaker 3: break What about the no longer? Don't you think that's
- 17:00Speaker 3: where they year the seven years?
- 17:02Speaker 1: Yeah, but Bregman also has a sauce to him.
- 17:04Speaker 3: That I'm not I'm not. I'm just I'm just saying
- 17:07Speaker 3: what people are saying.
- 17:08Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I understand that, but agree or disagree Bregman
- 17:12Speaker 1: and say Kyle Schwarber right in different ways a little bit,
- 17:15Speaker 1: but have a certain sauce that people afies their value.
- 17:19Speaker 3: I'm not going to the media and people in their
- 17:20Speaker 3: clubhouse have come out and said Bregman makes everyone better,
- 17:23Speaker 3: Charmer makes everybody better. So teams see this in the
- 17:25Speaker 3: media repeatedly and they're like, Oh, he can make our
- 17:28Speaker 3: team better, let's bring him in.
- 17:29Speaker 1: I think that it.
- 17:31Speaker 3: Matters because then if you have if there's a guy
- 17:33Speaker 3: out there and like, oh, he doesn't really make anybody better, Oh,
- 17:36Speaker 3: we don't want to touch him.
- 17:37Speaker 1: Bellinger's cool. I gat he's not. We know everyone would
- 17:41Speaker 1: say that.
- 17:41Speaker 3: No, but he's better defensively. Yeah, he earns a lot
- 17:44Speaker 3: of his war defensively. He's better defensively than look at
- 17:47Speaker 3: his war, B war, D war, whatever it is.
- 17:51Speaker 1: I mean, different positions.
- 17:53Speaker 3: But it doesn't matter who had a higher war last year,
- 17:56Speaker 3: Bregman or Bellinger Bellinger.
- 17:58Speaker 2: Okay, Bregman also played a hundred and what fourteen games
- 18:01Speaker 2: and how many?
- 18:02Speaker 3: But he had almost a two war less one three
- 18:04Speaker 3: point five to five point Wait.
- 18:05Speaker 1: Wait, way close, Okay, I'm sorry.
- 18:10Speaker 3: I mean Bellinger over the last three years nine point
- 18:13Speaker 3: nine twelve point one.
- 18:17Speaker 1: Wait.
- 18:17Speaker 2: I just want to document history right now. I am
- 18:20Speaker 2: on a different side of the coin.
- 18:22Speaker 3: Here they had about the same war.
- 18:24Speaker 1: AJ is calculating war.
- 18:26Speaker 3: I'm just saying this is how teams look at it.
- 18:28Speaker 3: Ops plus one twenty eight one sixteen one twenty two
- 18:31Speaker 3: for Bregman and for Bellinger one thirty nine to eleven.
- 18:37Speaker 3: Better for Bellinger last three year. I'm just going last
- 18:39Speaker 3: three years. I'm not Plus he plays center field, Plus
- 18:42Speaker 3: he can play first base. Plus he'll steal your bases.
- 18:45Speaker 3: I'm not listen. I'm not making the argument one's better
- 18:48Speaker 3: than the other. I'm just saying the way I was
- 18:50Speaker 3: told for people. This is how market teams and agents
- 18:54Speaker 3: look at it, and they say, well, if the market
- 18:56Speaker 3: for Bellinger or for Bregman is five five, you can
- 19:00Speaker 3: make an argument Bellinger is actually better. He should get more, longer,
- 19:03Speaker 3: longer term, and more.
- 19:04Speaker 2: Who do you want over the next five years? I mean,
- 19:07Speaker 2: it's a show. We have to do it all. Who
- 19:08Speaker 2: do you guys want over the next five years? I
- 19:10Speaker 2: take Bregman both. No, you can't do that.
- 19:13Speaker 3: I can't tell me what I can and can't do.
- 19:15Speaker 1: Okay, fine, But if you're upstaining, then you're obstaining krats.
- 19:19Speaker 4: Who am I? Who am I putting? What team am
- 19:21Speaker 4: I putting him on? Am I putting?
- 19:24Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 19:25Speaker 2: But you guys are doing defensive fits like, oh, he's
- 19:27Speaker 2: a better defender than him, Like they're playing two different positions.
- 19:31Speaker 3: We're supposed to be equal, though, Scott, at your end,
- 19:33Speaker 3: all be.
- 19:33Speaker 2: All stat Okay, so you have an opening in the
- 19:37Speaker 2: outfield and at third base.
- 19:38Speaker 3: Which team, which which park and which team because parking matters.
- 19:45Speaker 4: Bellinger doesn't need to be the Alex Bregman of the
- 19:49Speaker 4: team because they have judge. So to me, Bellinger is
- 19:52Speaker 4: more valuable to the Yankees. So I take Bellinger if
- 19:57Speaker 4: you're making me choose, I love I love breg I
- 20:00Speaker 4: think I think Bregman to the Red Sox is more
- 20:04Speaker 4: valuable than Bregman to the Cubs. People are gonna be like,
- 20:08Speaker 4: what does that even mean? You're an idiot, But to me,
- 20:12Speaker 4: it's all based on how if you're using that like
- 20:14Speaker 4: intangible Kyle Schwarber, Alex Bregman. They got the sauce, like
- 20:18Speaker 4: you said, Scott, that plays at different places. That is
- 20:23Speaker 4: a if there's already an established leader on the team
- 20:27Speaker 4: that plays at different places, and maybe the Cubs needed
- 20:30Speaker 4: that guy. We just heard that maybe Nico Horner was
- 20:33Speaker 4: probably that guy for them, or you know, Danzy Swanson
- 20:36Speaker 4: is that guy, whatever it is. But I think your
- 20:39Speaker 4: your sauce fits on a team a certain team differently
- 20:43Speaker 4: and I think breg I think Bellinger's ability to back
- 20:47Speaker 4: up Ben Rice at first base if he goes to
- 20:50Speaker 4: catch a few games, gives him versatility. The fact that
- 20:53Speaker 4: he can play center field. If Trent Grisham has a
- 20:56Speaker 4: down year, something happens, they're slotting a center fielder into field,
- 21:01Speaker 4: and he doesn't if he lacks that Bregmann leadership or
- 21:04Speaker 4: Swarber leadership, which is rare, elite type of leadership that
- 21:08Speaker 4: we hear.
- 21:08Speaker 1: In the game.
- 21:10Speaker 3: Judge has already got that.
- 21:11Speaker 4: Judge is already the guy, and he's not going to
- 21:13Speaker 4: step on Judge's toes.
- 21:15Speaker 2: It's a good explanation, and I want to double down.
- 21:19Speaker 2: I like Cody Bellinger, and I think he's worth thirty
- 21:22Speaker 2: million dollars per year. We did this exercise on Friday together.
- 21:26Speaker 2: We were like, if the Yankees are not offering him
- 21:29Speaker 2: five years, shame on them. Yes, if Belly's asking for seven,
- 21:32Speaker 2: I don't know if anyone else is going to give
- 21:34Speaker 2: him seven at that rate, that's just my guess.
- 21:36Speaker 1: We don't know everything. And then six we were like, Okay,
- 21:39Speaker 1: I can see.
- 21:39Speaker 3: That we also didn't have the Bregmann contract. Now to
- 21:41Speaker 3: look at either sure and I know they're different players,
- 21:44Speaker 3: different positions at the ages, but I'm just saying, if
- 21:47Speaker 3: you're younger, if everyone's if you go back and look
- 21:49Speaker 3: say numbers, it changes.
- 21:50Speaker 2: Six at one thirty. Didn't we literally said six at
- 21:53Speaker 2: thirty or one eighty, And I think everyone's happy, didn't
- 21:56Speaker 2: we say that?
- 21:56Speaker 3: Yeah? Yeah, nobody's gotten to six yet. Then, so then
- 22:01Speaker 3: if they say it's listen Bellinger, then if that's all
- 22:04Speaker 3: you got, you gotta take it, right.
- 22:06Speaker 2: If that's all you have, you got to take it.
- 22:08Speaker 2: But if you've got some other team lurking Cubs just
- 22:11Speaker 2: did with the Red Sox.
- 22:12Speaker 3: Well, the Cubs have always been a rumored team for Bragman.
- 22:15Speaker 3: It's not like they just came out. We had always said, oh,
- 22:17Speaker 3: Bregman would fit last year. Remember we said, oh Bregman
- 22:20Speaker 3: wuld fit nicely on the Cubs. We said that last
- 22:22Speaker 3: year and the Tigers and the Tigers, and the Tigers
- 22:25Speaker 3: definitely weren't pulling that trigger in the Cubs we didn't
- 22:26Speaker 3: think would either. Yeah, right, so then but then after time,
- 22:29Speaker 3: I mean, listen, the Tigers.
- 22:30Speaker 1: Did pull the trigger. They just came up short on
- 22:32Speaker 1: last year.
- 22:33Speaker 3: Not this year. But then this year but then for
- 22:35Speaker 3: Bregman this year with the Cubs, like everyone again it
- 22:37Speaker 3: goes back to every Red Sox fan just assumed he's
- 22:42Speaker 3: going to be a Red Sox again.
- 22:44Speaker 1: Okay, so then they missed.
- 22:46Speaker 2: Yeah, so we're trying to figure out the place for him,
- 22:49Speaker 2: and it does still feel like the Yanks, and so
- 22:51Speaker 2: they're just having a good old fashioned stare down right now.
- 22:54Speaker 1: There's other spots.
- 22:55Speaker 3: I mean, that'd be great on the Angels.
- 22:56Speaker 1: Angels would be big. Oh my gosh, they Met's Angels.
- 23:00Speaker 1: Met's is a fit. Yeah, shake it up.
- 23:02Speaker 2: All right, we're gonna get to some quick hitter news.
- 23:04Speaker 2: So let's start with Freddie Freeman actually dropping out of
- 23:08Speaker 2: the World Baseball Classic for Team Canada for personal reasons.
- 23:12Speaker 2: I mean, what are the reasons, I don't know. But
- 23:15Speaker 2: also Freddy's in the playoffs every year, he's getting up there.
- 23:19Speaker 2: I mean, I know, you want a reference your thing
- 23:22Speaker 2: that's fair dying to go back in fairness, I can
- 23:25Speaker 2: say this with confidence. Team Canada is not winning a
- 23:27Speaker 2: World Baseball Classic. I know that's not in a great excuse,
- 23:30Speaker 2: and you want to see Freddy there. But two years
- 23:33Speaker 2: ago I was going through the ankle I don't know.
- 23:35Speaker 2: You never know what someone's going through, and he wants
- 23:37Speaker 2: to be geared up for the Dodgers this year to
- 23:40Speaker 2: try and repeat.
- 23:42Speaker 3: How is Jamison Taian Canadian?
- 23:44Speaker 1: What do you mean?
- 23:45Speaker 3: He just is born He's from Houston. He is born
- 23:52Speaker 3: in Florida.
- 23:53Speaker 1: Wasn't he born in Lakeland?
- 23:55Speaker 3: Yeah? I mean Lakeland's not I mean a metropolis, but
- 24:00Speaker 3: it's also not Canada.
- 24:04Speaker 1: You did your homework on that.
- 24:07Speaker 3: I think he played. I think he played. I mean
- 24:08Speaker 3: he was.
- 24:09Speaker 4: He was with that like original crew of really good start,
- 24:13Speaker 4: like Francis ty On and then uh like Filipo Mont
- 24:20Speaker 4: like they had some Ryan Dempster, LaRue well after Dempster,
- 24:25Speaker 4: but Chris LaRue like all those guys.
- 24:28Speaker 2: This is I think the same connection that Freddie Freeman
- 24:30Speaker 2: has because Freddy never lived in his parents his parents,
- 24:33Speaker 2: and for Jamison, his mother is Canadian, so there was
- 24:37Speaker 2: no living in.
- 24:38Speaker 1: Living in is not a requirement.
- 24:40Speaker 3: I just didn't know what the connection was there. So
- 24:42Speaker 3: good for him, Liten, you get to play and if
- 24:44Speaker 3: you're not going to be in USA, I mean Freddie
- 24:45Speaker 3: probably maybe could have been on USA, but he's also
- 24:48Speaker 3: said I'm playing for Canada. The last two times, so
- 24:50Speaker 3: he was definitely someone the Canadians were counting on. Good
- 24:54Speaker 3: for Freddy whatever, we'll ask him when we go to
- 24:56Speaker 3: Dodger camp.
- 24:56Speaker 1: Yeah, huge blow to the Canadian team obviously.
- 25:00Speaker 3: Then he went.
- 25:02Speaker 4: Ernie WIT's been a manager for Team Canada for every
- 25:05Speaker 4: year for WBC. For the qualifiers, Ernie went Larry Walker,
- 25:11Speaker 4: two Stalwarts, and uh and Leaper Leaper the third base
- 25:16Speaker 4: coach for the Padres, and then Stubby Clap Canadian legends.
- 25:23Speaker 2: Well, Canada's got a good right now with baseball, so
- 25:27Speaker 2: they might not win the WBC, but the Blue Jays
- 25:29Speaker 2: are looking damn good.
- 25:30Speaker 1: All right, let's do quick hitter signings.
- 25:32Speaker 2: I'm gonna start with Ryan Stanek going to the Saint
- 25:35Speaker 2: Louis Cardinals.
- 25:38Speaker 3: Like me, okay, I mean, well, good for Ryan Stannick.
- 25:40Speaker 1: Yeah, he's coming off.
- 25:41Speaker 3: It's gonna have a down year for Him's gonna happen.
- 25:43Speaker 3: He's gonna go out and ball out and in July
- 25:44Speaker 3: they're gonna be like, hey, Ryan, you're going to a new.
- 25:46Speaker 2: Tea Bingo one year, three and a half million and
- 25:49Speaker 2: a six million dollar club option for the year after.
- 25:51Speaker 1: That's actually big.
- 25:52Speaker 2: I mean, if you performed well he could be worth
- 25:54Speaker 2: that number, but yeah, he's coming off again.
- 25:57Speaker 1: I know Ja is not the end.
- 25:58Speaker 2: All, be all for for reliever, but it was one
- 26:00Speaker 2: of his worst year's era wise, five three zero. The
- 26:03Speaker 2: walks were up, but stuff wise, there's still a lot
- 26:05Speaker 2: to light there. I mean, the big fastball, splitter, a
- 26:07Speaker 2: couple breaking balls that play. So the Cardinals have actually
- 26:11Speaker 2: had some success with this. Philm Ayton last year, this
- 26:16Speaker 2: is we.
- 26:16Speaker 3: You should do if you're not trying to win, which
- 26:17Speaker 3: the Cardinals have kind of said, we're not really trying
- 26:19Speaker 3: to win. Right, You go out and you sign these
- 26:21Speaker 3: veteran guys to cheaper deals, and then you trade them
- 26:24Speaker 3: at the deadline and you get something back. Maybe that
- 26:27Speaker 3: person helps you this year, next year, two years from now.
- 26:30Speaker 3: And they said, man, we got this guy for Ryan
- 26:32Speaker 3: Stannick for those three months where we had Ryan Stannick.
- 26:35Speaker 2: It's exactly what you should be doing if you're the
- 26:37Speaker 2: Cardinals and you're in rebuild mode. Next up, the Cincinnati
- 26:40Speaker 2: Reds woke up this off season after falling asleep post
- 26:43Speaker 2: losing the Kyle Schwarber sweepstakes, and they signed Pierce Johnson
- 26:47Speaker 2: one year, six and a half million Bucks great for
- 26:50Speaker 2: the Reds bullpen to strengthen it a little bit. They
- 26:53Speaker 2: also brought back Amelia Pagan, so the Reds bullpen should
- 26:56Speaker 2: be strong. They've done a really nice job in terms
- 26:59Speaker 2: of pitch talent. You know, it's something that you thought
- 27:02Speaker 2: you'd never see, right, there were times in life where
- 27:04Speaker 2: you'd watch the Reds and be like, damn, I mean,
- 27:06Speaker 2: you just it's so difficult in that ballpark. All the
- 27:10Speaker 2: pitchers get lit up, and you're like, all right, maybe
- 27:12Speaker 2: the ballparks changed and maybe like in terms of you know,
- 27:15Speaker 2: how the baseball is playing there. But also this team
- 27:18Speaker 2: is I think put a pretty strong emphasis on improving
- 27:21Speaker 2: their pitching, not I mean development, of course, but also
- 27:26Speaker 2: craps just spending more on pitching, drafting, pitching very consistently.
- 27:31Speaker 2: Right the famous move of Chase Burns over Charlie Condon,
- 27:35Speaker 2: which might turn out really well for them. So thoughts
- 27:38Speaker 2: on the Reds doing a little high leverage reliever ad here.
- 27:43Speaker 4: This I mean, I love the high leverage reliever ad
- 27:46Speaker 4: every every team needs it. They had a taste of
- 27:48Speaker 4: the playoffs, so you know you need that when it
- 27:50Speaker 4: comes down to it, and you got to find somebody
- 27:52Speaker 4: you got to find somebody that's like, ah, you know,
- 27:54Speaker 4: this guy didn't work as a starter, so we threw
- 27:57Speaker 4: him in the pen and he became our third guy.
- 28:00Speaker 4: If you have Pegan and you have Pierce Johnson and
- 28:03Speaker 4: then you have that guy, now you have a three
- 28:04Speaker 4: headed beast at the end. But they started this back
- 28:08Speaker 4: in two thousand and nineteen after the eighteen season, when
- 28:14Speaker 4: they brought Derek Johnson over. You talk about a team
- 28:17Speaker 4: the Reds, who you're like, oh, you said it, Scott can't.
- 28:22Speaker 4: Nobody can pitch in Cincinnati. It's too small. No pitchers
- 28:25Speaker 4: want to get there. They went out and they got,
- 28:28Speaker 4: in my opinion, one of the best pitching coaches available,
- 28:30Speaker 4: and in DJ Derek Johnson, who was the pitching coach
- 28:33Speaker 4: for the Brewers, and they said, we're going to give you.
- 28:36Speaker 4: The industry gives out whatever two year deals to pitching coaches.
- 28:40Speaker 4: They gave him an extra year. Like they went above
- 28:45Speaker 4: and beyond in an area where it was like, oh,
- 28:48Speaker 4: it's a weakness to be you know, have some good
- 28:50Speaker 4: pitching in Cincinnati. And since then they've kind of build
- 28:54Speaker 4: it to what it is. You've gotten a lot of
- 28:56Speaker 4: value out of the extension. That you signed from Hunter Green.
- 29:00Speaker 4: He seems to like he seems to be taking the
- 29:03Speaker 4: next step. Can they continue that? To me if they
- 29:06Speaker 4: do continue it, because they have over the last three
- 29:09Speaker 4: years of just slightly increasing and changing and making adjustments,
- 29:14Speaker 4: each pitcher getting better and better. And then finally the offense,
- 29:18Speaker 4: which I thought was going to be the part of
- 29:20Speaker 4: the organization that carried them. Maybe some of those guys
- 29:24Speaker 4: step up, those young guys that everyone's so much promise
- 29:28Speaker 4: had this year this injury. Now they got to come back,
- 29:30Speaker 4: steroid use all that stuff. They should score runs, But
- 29:35Speaker 4: right now they're just run prevention.
- 29:38Speaker 2: Yeah, they're about short in my mind, from feeling really good.
- 29:42Speaker 2: And maybe they continue to play the song and dance
- 29:45Speaker 2: with the White Sox over Luis Robert. Maybe there's someone
- 29:49Speaker 2: else there involved. And you always see that connection with
- 29:51Speaker 2: those two where clearly they're not in line, and I'm
- 29:53Speaker 2: betting they're not in line, more on the money side
- 29:55Speaker 2: than the prospect side, but trying to improve at the margins.
- 30:00Speaker 2: If there's one thing you know Pierce Johnson can do,
- 30:03Speaker 2: it's sling a curveball. Yeah, he's at i mean now
- 30:06Speaker 2: two years of about three quarters of his pitches the curve,
- 30:10Speaker 2: so you like the bride and of the bullpen.
- 30:11Speaker 1: If you need a curveball guy, you got him.
- 30:14Speaker 4: Are we supposed to Are we supposed to look at
- 30:16Speaker 4: the Red lineup and go, yes, all these guys are
- 30:19Speaker 4: just mediocre.
- 30:21Speaker 3: One point two to one point you.
- 30:25Speaker 4: Know, five win players or one hundred and seven ops plus,
- 30:30Speaker 4: Like when is O'Neil cruz gonna take the next step?
- 30:33Speaker 4: Is mcclean's surgery The injury had to his shoulder, the.
- 30:37Speaker 1: One that's say, what did I say, O'Neill?
- 30:43Speaker 3: I meant Elliot.
- 30:46Speaker 1: Yep.
- 30:46Speaker 4: But you know, Spencer Steer has always been the guy.
- 30:50Speaker 3: T J.
- 30:50Speaker 4: Friedel's a guy that drives in a ton of runs,
- 30:53Speaker 4: kind of more of an unassuming player. Noelvi Marte made
- 30:56Speaker 4: some beautiful plays in right field last year as he
- 30:59Speaker 4: made that transition. Is where his numbers before inflated because
- 31:02Speaker 4: the steroids like, I don't think there's an organization. I
- 31:06Speaker 4: don't think there's a position player corps that's as young
- 31:09Speaker 4: and underachieving as the Reds, probably not to the extent
- 31:14Speaker 4: of like the Orioles. The Orioles, you know, they have
- 31:18Speaker 4: a great young core that you're like all right, these
- 31:20Speaker 4: guys need to take the next step too. But in
- 31:23Speaker 4: that in that case, you know, Gunnar Henderson's has taken
- 31:26Speaker 4: the next step. Gunner Henderson's proven he can be a star.
- 31:29Speaker 4: Who in this reds Cores can prove that they're gonna
- 31:32Speaker 4: be a star or are they all just kind of
- 31:36Speaker 4: like Ellie where it's like so much, so much potential,
- 31:40Speaker 4: but nobody wants to take that next step.
- 31:44Speaker 1: Solid players.
- 31:45Speaker 3: They of course, it would be nice to see him.
- 31:47Speaker 3: I know they tried for Shorebert Bushit or Bellinger or
- 31:50Speaker 3: somebody like that, just a veteran guy that could really
- 31:52Speaker 3: do some damage. It won't happen, but they found a
- 31:55Speaker 3: way because they said, oh, Schwarbur would help us sell tickets. Well,
- 31:58Speaker 3: so Boba shit and so Cody, why would.
- 32:02Speaker 4: He help sell tickets because he's there? Because he went,
- 32:06Speaker 4: I mean, what are you gonna get. You're gonna get
- 32:07Speaker 4: to local, you know, Cincinnati High School Local night? You
- 32:11Speaker 4: sell an extra thirty tickets? Like, I think that's a if,
- 32:15Speaker 4: that's if that's really what they're saying to me. I
- 32:17Speaker 4: think that's a tired excuse. He's gonna help the team
- 32:19Speaker 4: because of all the things I just mentioned. They have
- 32:21Speaker 4: a good young core that he's gonna get these dudes
- 32:25Speaker 4: to be, Like, I don't want to say be out
- 32:28Speaker 4: there every day because like that's not fair to that
- 32:32Speaker 4: team to say, oh, they don't want to be out No.
- 32:33Speaker 4: I think guys Ellie played through injuries last year, Matt
- 32:37Speaker 4: McLean was coming back from his shoulder surgery. Like, there's
- 32:39Speaker 4: a lot of things. I just think. I just think
- 32:42Speaker 4: there is that piece, and I think Schwerber would have
- 32:45Speaker 4: been an awesome piece to add to that. But some
- 32:49Speaker 4: of these guys need to step up. And I think
- 32:51Speaker 4: if they do step up and they hit closer to
- 32:54Speaker 4: their potential, I think the Reds are dangerous even in
- 32:58Speaker 4: the central with Bregman.
- 32:59Speaker 1: Go to the Cubs. Good call. Let's hit hot Corner.
- 33:06Speaker 2: On Friday at three two pm, two minutes after Vowel
- 33:11Speaker 2: Territory Live ended, we received a press release that Max
- 33:16Speaker 2: Kepler has been suspended eighty games for ped usage. He
- 33:20Speaker 2: is a free agent, as John Hammond noted Captain obvious,
- 33:24Speaker 2: this will not help.
- 33:25Speaker 1: His free agency.
- 33:27Speaker 2: He tested positive for something that I don't even know
- 33:30Speaker 2: how to pronounce, so you can go online and look
- 33:32Speaker 2: up more on it. We're not going to do science territory.
- 33:36Speaker 2: That show doesn't come out until June of twenty twenty seven.
- 33:39Speaker 2: But in all seriousness, not good for the player.
- 33:45Speaker 3: No, no, not good Nope, pen I mean now a
- 33:48Speaker 3: team will be like, hey Max, we'll sign you for
- 33:51Speaker 3: one year, one million, and no, by the way, you
- 33:53Speaker 3: lose half of that before you start. I mean that's
- 33:57Speaker 3: basically what he's gonna have to do and then suck
- 33:59Speaker 3: it up for eighty games. He was, you know what
- 34:00Speaker 3: he was hoping. He was hoping he would sign before
- 34:03Speaker 3: this news broke A lah jerks and Profar Right.
- 34:06Speaker 1: Yeah, but Profar, you think tested? I think that.
- 34:11Speaker 2: I don't know what the timing that's that's at again again,
- 34:13Speaker 2: I don't know the timing the league will give. I
- 34:15Speaker 2: mean they're probably not. I don't know how it all
- 34:17Speaker 2: goes behind the scenes. But if somebody did test positive,
- 34:20Speaker 2: I feel like a team would.
- 34:22Speaker 1: Know about it. Is that what you know?
- 34:24Speaker 3: Absolutely not?
- 34:26Speaker 2: So then you would just sign him and then find out, Hey, surpriseps.
- 34:31Speaker 3: They don't know.
- 34:32Speaker 4: Team knows nothing about it. Even if you're on a team,
- 34:35Speaker 4: team knows nothing about it. You're the first one, only one.
- 34:39Speaker 4: So anytime it's ever released beforehand appealing or anybody that's
- 34:43Speaker 4: been released by the player, so there's no they could
- 34:47Speaker 4: have signed them. They could have signed them. And then
- 34:50Speaker 4: they've been like, wait, you knew about this to me
- 34:53Speaker 4: this timing. It was an off season test. And we
- 34:56Speaker 4: might talk about Andrew mccutchon's offseason test before, but this
- 35:00Speaker 4: because you always get an appeal process.
- 35:02Speaker 1: You get in.
- 35:03Speaker 4: Whether whether players take it or not, you know, that's
- 35:06Speaker 4: that's up to them, whether they want to fight it. No,
- 35:09Speaker 4: it was I went to Mexico, I had a steak.
- 35:11Speaker 4: I didn't do it. I don't know who knows what
- 35:16Speaker 4: he did, but they they are the only ones to know.
- 35:18Speaker 4: Teams do not know. The league does not know. Players
- 35:22Speaker 4: Association does not know. I think the players Association is
- 35:26Speaker 4: actually the second maybe they're the second one notified, but
- 35:32Speaker 4: I know the teams do not know.
- 35:36Speaker 1: Y'all.
- 35:37Speaker 3: Steak in Mexico it gets me every time, and that's
- 35:41Speaker 3: I need steaks in Mexico.
- 35:43Speaker 1: Now I can have them. I don't care. That's me.
- 35:46Speaker 3: But in all seriousness, listen, can we show the Andrew
- 35:49Speaker 3: mccutch and stuff, because I find this this is the part.
- 35:51Speaker 1: We can't talk about this at all anymore. That's it.
- 35:54Speaker 3: Oh, I mean, what are you gonna say, mex number,
- 35:56Speaker 3: don't cheat, you got caught. Bang, that's it. People in chatter,
- 35:59Speaker 3: I don't know his numbers, saying numbers went way up
- 36:00Speaker 3: in July, so maybe that was it. But anyways, this
- 36:04Speaker 3: is what happens if this was an off season test.
- 36:05Speaker 3: I don't know Krafts. I'm sure he got tested in
- 36:07Speaker 3: the off season. But they call you and they say, hey,
- 36:09Speaker 3: are you home, and you're like, uh no, when will
- 36:13Speaker 3: you be home? And you say an hour. They'll be like,
- 36:15Speaker 3: all right, there'll be some of your house in an hour.
- 36:17Speaker 3: Or if you're out of town, you're like, I'll be
- 36:19Speaker 3: home on January fifteenth, and they're to be like, all right,
- 36:22Speaker 3: there'll be a guy there to test you.
- 36:24Speaker 1: Like right here go, I said, nothing like the CDT,
- 36:29Speaker 1: which is the testing coming to my house on a Sunday.
- 36:32Speaker 1: I got five kids in church.
- 36:34Speaker 2: But let's get that urine sample real quick, UNC, and
- 36:38Speaker 2: then you give us more update. I didn't give enough
- 36:42Speaker 2: of the year in sample. So I'm currently outside in
- 36:43Speaker 2: this Pittsburgh weather shirtless to see if that will speed
- 36:47Speaker 2: this process up.
- 36:48Speaker 1: I live for this update. That worked.
- 36:53Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm in.
- 36:55Speaker 1: You have to let them know if you're well.
- 36:56Speaker 3: They call you. So you get a number they you
- 36:58Speaker 3: get this random phone call and they'll be and they'll say, oh,
- 37:01Speaker 3: this is CDT blah blah blah. Are you home. And
- 37:05Speaker 3: if you say yes, they say, okay, well there'll be
- 37:07Speaker 3: a guy at your house or a girl. There'll be
- 37:09Speaker 3: a CDT agent at your house in the next forty
- 37:12Speaker 3: five minutes. Or if you say no, I'm out of town,
- 37:15Speaker 3: I'm on vacation. I'll be home Tuesday at eight o'clock,
- 37:19Speaker 3: they'll be like, all right, there'll be someone there at
- 37:20Speaker 3: eight thirty. I remember one time at my house the
- 37:24Speaker 3: guy showed up at like seven in the morning and
- 37:25Speaker 3: I had breakfast for him. I'm like, you want some
- 37:27Speaker 3: donuts and some coffee while we're sitting because when you
- 37:30Speaker 3: wake up, you pee. Most people wake up when they
- 37:33Speaker 3: urinate when they get we have to wake up. So
- 37:36Speaker 3: then you're like, all right, well, how do I get
- 37:37Speaker 3: this to get right? So you gotta start drinking water
- 37:42Speaker 3: and you just got to sit there because the guy
- 37:43Speaker 3: just sits there and watches it. In your house, he's
- 37:45Speaker 3: just like sitting at a counter like so.
- 37:47Speaker 1: You guys share some donuts and coffee, and then I.
- 37:50Speaker 3: Mean, what are you gonna drink too much? You can't
- 37:53Speaker 3: go anywhere drink too much?
- 37:55Speaker 1: Too much?
- 37:55Speaker 4: What because it couldn't It could get diluted. If you
- 37:59Speaker 4: can't pee enough, then you drink too much, and the
- 38:02Speaker 4: samples too diluted. The one time they got, they got
- 38:05Speaker 4: me in the afternoon, and every time I would go
- 38:08Speaker 4: work out, I work out from I drop my kids
- 38:10Speaker 4: off at school, work out from eight to eleven, and
- 38:13Speaker 4: I would drink a gallon of water while I was
- 38:16Speaker 4: working out. My pea's pretty clear. The guy calls. I'm like, okay,
- 38:22Speaker 4: he comes over early afternoon. Nope, sorry, sample's too clear.
- 38:28Speaker 4: Stop drinking. They'll stop drinking, but you need more pea.
- 38:32Speaker 4: So I'm supposed to be dehydrated. I got one time
- 38:35Speaker 4: I got the samp, the CDT guy, and they had
- 38:39Speaker 4: to coordinate. Somebody'd come and take my blood at the
- 38:42Speaker 4: same time, so they had two people sitting in my
- 38:44Speaker 4: house taking blood, taking pea. Another time I was on
- 38:47Speaker 4: a I was in a at a conference out in
- 38:50Speaker 4: uh Colorado Springs. Beautiful hotel ran on the lake. I'm
- 38:55Speaker 4: not even sure what the hotel was called five star hotel.
- 38:58Speaker 4: This dude's got to come to the got to come
- 39:02Speaker 4: to the either public bathroom. Because they called me and
- 39:05Speaker 4: they're like, are you home. I was like no, I'm
- 39:07Speaker 4: in Colorado Springs and they said, well, we need to
- 39:11Speaker 4: come and visit you in your hotel. So I'm at
- 39:14Speaker 4: this conference with my wife, Professional Athletes Outreach it was called,
- 39:19Speaker 4: and they were like, well, can we go into the
- 39:22Speaker 4: public bathroom in the hotel. I was like no, I'm
- 39:27Speaker 4: not going into a bathroom with another dude. So we
- 39:30Speaker 4: went up to my hotel room and I'm in my
- 39:32Speaker 4: hotel room and I'm like, why am I in my
- 39:34Speaker 4: hotel room with a drug testing guy? Like what is
- 39:37Speaker 4: this happening? Like what is going on? So yeah, they're
- 39:40Speaker 4: everywhere and they'll find you. They will find you. They
- 39:43Speaker 4: called me after I quit. Yeah, they called me after
- 39:46Speaker 4: I quit. They were like, hey, we're gonna come to
- 39:48Speaker 4: your house.
- 39:49Speaker 3: Are you home.
- 39:50Speaker 4: I was like I quit, playing longest pause ever. The
- 39:53Speaker 4: woman on the phone was like, all right, that was it.
- 40:03Speaker 4: She ain't got the news.
- 40:05Speaker 2: Do you want to know why you were in a
- 40:06Speaker 2: bathroom in your hotel room with a tester? Max Kepler
- 40:13Speaker 2: Jerkson profar, let's go down the line. This is why
- 40:17Speaker 2: because they catch.
- 40:18Speaker 3: But see here's what people used to do. And this
- 40:21Speaker 3: is something that needs also be said, is what the
- 40:23Speaker 3: the reason why they have the dilution test and all
- 40:25Speaker 3: that is what guys would do is when they were
- 40:28Speaker 3: doing things, and then they stopped allowing you to go
- 40:31Speaker 3: in the hot tub, and they stopped allowing you to
- 40:32Speaker 3: going to the cold tub because guys were doing stuff,
- 40:35Speaker 3: and then they would drink but they would be like, oh,
- 40:37Speaker 3: I don't have to pee. They go, well, I got
- 40:38Speaker 3: to get my work done. Postgame, they go in the
- 40:40Speaker 3: hot tub, they go in the cold tub, they drink
- 40:41Speaker 3: a ton of water, and they'd pee in the hot
- 40:43Speaker 3: in the cold tub until and they just keep drinking water.
- 40:46Speaker 3: I can't pee, I can't pee, I can't pete. And
- 40:48Speaker 3: then it would come out to where it was clear
- 40:51Speaker 3: and it was too diluted to test, and they'd be like, okay,
- 40:54Speaker 3: well you can't test today or too diluted. And that's
- 40:56Speaker 3: how they would get that's how the guys got past
- 40:58Speaker 3: these things. So now they banned you post game from
- 41:02Speaker 3: going in the hot tub in the cold tub because
- 41:04Speaker 3: they're like Nope, you got a pee and you got
- 41:06Speaker 3: a p first before. These dudes follow you everywhere. They're
- 41:08Speaker 3: their pregame. They follow you everywhere you go. They're right
- 41:11Speaker 3: behind you on the field, they watch you on the field,
- 41:13Speaker 3: they watch you come in.
- 41:14Speaker 2: They're heroes though, because they have saved so many hot
- 41:18Speaker 2: tubs and cold tubs from being just yellow piss nastiness.
- 41:23Speaker 4: No people would drain them. You knew if the hot
- 41:25Speaker 4: tubs were drained in the middle of the day that
- 41:28Speaker 4: that's what was going on. Somebody was trying to clear
- 41:31Speaker 4: their system. Saw it plenty of times. I saw pictures
- 41:35Speaker 4: go out to the bullpen. The the guy can't go
- 41:39Speaker 4: into the bullpen, so he watches you and they would
- 41:42Speaker 4: go out to the bullpen and they would pee in
- 41:43Speaker 4: the bullpen bathroom. They would make they would make the
- 41:47Speaker 4: the testing guys stay all day long and look like
- 41:50Speaker 4: people are all talking talking about the fact that he
- 41:53Speaker 4: hit two sixteen, like he's on steroids.
- 41:56Speaker 3: You know that those steroids sucked all that stuff.
- 41:59Speaker 4: Or maybe he hit two sixteen and he was like,
- 42:01Speaker 4: I don't want to do that again, and he was
- 42:03Speaker 4: looking for a performance and answer.
- 42:05Speaker 2: Then yeah, do you guys start to think, oh, how
- 42:09Speaker 2: long has this been going on? When you hear about this,
- 42:12Speaker 2: I'm trying to get the.
- 42:12Speaker 3: Players has been going on. It's been going on since forever.
- 42:15Speaker 2: With the individual person, Like, oh, when he shows up
- 42:18Speaker 2: to camp, if he signs a deal, is everybody going
- 42:21Speaker 2: to be like, well, I'm looking back that that.
- 42:23Speaker 1: Twenty nineteen when he took off.
- 42:26Speaker 3: You know what, it's always a question happened. It's always
- 42:28Speaker 3: a question now forever, but forever. Rob I look at
- 42:32Speaker 3: the biggest example of well a Rod we all know
- 42:34Speaker 3: in his whole thing, Like when did he start? You
- 42:36Speaker 3: know he says, oh, I only hit five homers. I'm like,
- 42:38Speaker 3: oh god, dude, Like I know people that said you
- 42:41Speaker 3: were doing them way back way back in the day, right,
- 42:44Speaker 3: so you never know, Robinson Cano. That's a big thing
- 42:47Speaker 3: with Robinson Cano, like, oh, he tested positive in Seattle,
- 42:49Speaker 3: but was he doing them with a Rod back in
- 42:51Speaker 3: New York. It's we're not blaming or accusing anybody, but
- 42:55Speaker 3: those are questions that are asked now kind of like
- 42:58Speaker 3: especially players, right, players are like this guy doing these
- 43:01Speaker 3: because this back then we don't know. So it's always
- 43:04Speaker 3: going to be there once you test positive and it sucks,
- 43:07Speaker 3: but don't don't do drugs kids.
- 43:10Speaker 4: But it also, I mean, it's also it's just as
- 43:12Speaker 4: applicable as anything else in life. Very rarely does somebody
- 43:16Speaker 4: get caught for a DUI. The very first and only
- 43:19Speaker 4: time they went had some drinks and they went and
- 43:22Speaker 4: dropped drove like you've been testing the limit for a
- 43:26Speaker 4: little while. Like the guys that I the guys that
- 43:29Speaker 4: I know that have tested positive for steroids were not
- 43:33Speaker 4: one time offenders. They had snuff, especially now, especially now
- 43:39Speaker 4: with all that we know about masking agents and everything,
- 43:41Speaker 4: and always being ahead of the testing, the testing, trying
- 43:44Speaker 4: to keep up all that stuff they're skirting by. Nobody
- 43:48Speaker 4: ever tests me, like I live in this place. Nobody
- 43:51Speaker 4: ever tests. You know, I'm here, like I'm willing to
- 43:55Speaker 4: take the chance for what a kepler get ten million
- 43:58Speaker 4: dollars until all the money is taken away from guys
- 44:03Speaker 4: who test positive, You're always going to have it out there.
- 44:06Speaker 4: And as soon as so many tests positive, Scott, your
- 44:09Speaker 4: question was, do you think it's you know, it was
- 44:13Speaker 4: more than that. Yeah, I do, I do, And I
- 44:18Speaker 4: think my view has come way down from when you
- 44:22Speaker 4: know two thousand and eight two thousand and nine, where
- 44:27Speaker 4: everybody that had a career year, I was like, hmm,
- 44:29Speaker 4: career year, came into camp best shape of his life,
- 44:32Speaker 4: twenty pounds bigger. I'm like, I'm grinding away in the
- 44:35Speaker 4: weight room, no weight change, no like body change like that,
- 44:39Speaker 4: and these dudes come in and they're just completely different units. Yeah,
- 44:44Speaker 4: Like that was that was what I thought all the time,
- 44:47Speaker 4: and I voiced it before with Jackson Profar, like, you
- 44:50Speaker 4: just don't gain, Like there's anomalies in the sport, but
- 44:54Speaker 4: those anomalies are like dudes who make swing changes at
- 44:56Speaker 4: twenty two not at thirty in your platform, and then
- 45:00Speaker 4: you get fifty million dollars.
- 45:04Speaker 1: Right.
- 45:04Speaker 2: It causes suspicion and that's why as funny as some
- 45:08Speaker 2: of the processes, it's important for the game wise, even
- 45:12Speaker 2: more dudes would be doing it.
- 45:13Speaker 1: And Ryan in the chat said, WHOA, WHOA are we.
- 45:15Speaker 2: Listening to two former players picking up on suspicious things
- 45:18Speaker 2: teammates did to avoid failing a DREADS test.
- 45:21Speaker 1: Is that enabling cheating? Then?
- 45:23Speaker 2: I don't think everybody's locked into to YouTube right now,
- 45:27Speaker 2: being like I gotta get tips from Krafts and AJ
- 45:30Speaker 2: on what they saw their teammates doing.
- 45:32Speaker 1: I don't think it's it's that far making like.
- 45:35Speaker 4: He was he saying that I enabled it because one
- 45:38Speaker 4: of my teammates, oh decisions. I think that's what he's
- 45:42Speaker 4: saying is I should have turned my teammate in for
- 45:46Speaker 4: for what, Like there was other things that guys took,
- 45:49Speaker 4: not just steroids, like that they wanted to get out
- 45:52Speaker 4: of their system, Like they're testing for more than just steroids.
- 45:55Speaker 4: So like that's like if I make am I making
- 46:01Speaker 4: like judgments based on what my teammates are doing, Like
- 46:04Speaker 4: you saw it and you went about your career, you
- 46:08Speaker 4: knew that other guys were doing it. I told the
- 46:10Speaker 4: story before here. I knew one of my ex teammates.
- 46:13Speaker 4: He gave me his he gave me his apartment, and
- 46:17Speaker 4: my wife went and got groceries while I was on
- 46:19Speaker 4: the road. She got back and started putting them in
- 46:23Speaker 4: our new apartment in our fridge, and there was HGH
- 46:27Speaker 4: vials in the I mean, the the syringes were in
- 46:30Speaker 4: the refrigerator. Like, was I supposed to turn in my
- 46:33Speaker 4: ex teammate who wasn't on the team anymore because he
- 46:37Speaker 4: was taking HGH? Like I don't think that I'm not
- 46:43Speaker 4: supposed to do that, am.
- 46:44Speaker 1: I not your job?
- 46:45Speaker 3: No, listen, there's one you want to I tell you
- 46:51Speaker 3: what you want to lose faith in all your teammates
- 46:54Speaker 3: really fast talk about things that are happening in a clubhouse,
- 47:00Speaker 3: on the road whatever, like they nobody's business. It's not.
- 47:05Speaker 3: It's not, it's not. And it also unless I actually
- 47:09Speaker 3: see somebody injected themselves and I know exactly what's in
- 47:13Speaker 3: the the needle and all that, I don't know what
- 47:15Speaker 3: they're doing. They could be diabetic and they got to
- 47:17Speaker 3: get some I don't.
- 47:18Speaker 1: Know what they're playing.
- 47:19Speaker 3: I don't know. You can't. It's like, okay, it's like
- 47:21Speaker 3: when I do a game for Fox, right, someone gets hurt.
- 47:24Speaker 3: I don't speculate on what they hurt because I don't know,
- 47:27Speaker 3: and I don't want to be wrong right, because I
- 47:29Speaker 3: remember we did a game not long ago. I did
- 47:31Speaker 3: a game and our stat guy had heard that so
- 47:34Speaker 3: and so broke their arm, and the Telly by play
- 47:36Speaker 3: guy goes, oh, they broke their arm, and I'm like, no,
- 47:40Speaker 3: they didn't. Like let's you can't. You just can't speculate
- 47:43Speaker 3: on that kind of stuff because you don't know.
- 47:45Speaker 1: YEA, not with the medicals, medicals.
- 47:48Speaker 3: And I don't know guys are doing. And you know what,
- 47:51Speaker 3: it's none of my business what people are doing.
- 47:53Speaker 2: No, no, And it's just not your job. I mean
- 47:56Speaker 2: the league's job. That's the point of the league. And
- 47:58Speaker 2: I mean this is a joint thing, the league and
- 48:00Speaker 2: the player side. They come up with an agreement on
- 48:02Speaker 2: who's going to police this, and then there are paid
- 48:05Speaker 2: professionals and the organization gets paid a lot of money,
- 48:08Speaker 2: the CDT to.
- 48:09Speaker 1: Regulate all of this stuff.
- 48:11Speaker 2: All right, anyway, I want to get to two more
- 48:13Speaker 2: things quick here too well moves. Tyler Kinley signs with
- 48:18Speaker 2: the Braves one year. I was just getting rid of
- 48:20Speaker 2: all of the weekend news. Here on my checklist four
- 48:24Speaker 2: point twenty five million And for Kinley, Brave fans were
- 48:30Speaker 2: shocked that they let him go.
- 48:32Speaker 1: They declined the option. It was for five point five million.
- 48:36Speaker 2: And this actually plays to Kratz's whole collusion thing because
- 48:39Speaker 2: like the teams, they all have like the same figures
- 48:42Speaker 2: on what the guy's worth. So they let him go
- 48:44Speaker 2: and then they're like, we'll be able to get him
- 48:45Speaker 2: for a little bit less, and they did. I'm not
- 48:47Speaker 2: blaming the Braves I'm just saying that's how the whole
- 48:49Speaker 2: system is. Everybody probably has him at the same number,
- 48:54Speaker 2: and then he hits the free agent market and gets signed.
- 48:57Speaker 2: So good for the Braves. He was lights out with Atlanta.
- 49:02Speaker 2: He was traded to them at the deadline. He had
- 49:04Speaker 2: an O seven to two ERA in twenty four appearances
- 49:07Speaker 2: out of the bullpen with more breaking ball usage, slider curve.
- 49:12Speaker 1: He was vac.
- 49:14Speaker 3: He was gonna.
- 49:15Speaker 4: I thought he was gonna be one of the big
- 49:16Speaker 4: pieces at the trade deadline and the and the Braves
- 49:19Speaker 4: got him because I went to the gate he was
- 49:21Speaker 4: lights out for the Rockies and I was actually at
- 49:24Speaker 4: the game. I think he gave up in Boston. I
- 49:27Speaker 4: think he gave up like five or six runs. I
- 49:29Speaker 4: remember telling my son, who was sitting next to me,
- 49:31Speaker 4: I was like, this guy could be a huge, huge
- 49:35Speaker 4: trade piece because he's having a great year. He looked
- 49:38Speaker 4: over at me after he gave up a bunch of
- 49:40Speaker 4: runs and I was he was like, ooh, sorry, Like
- 49:43Speaker 4: I didn't jink him, but he had.
- 49:45Speaker 3: A really good year.
- 49:46Speaker 4: I know you're gonna look at the numbers from Colorado
- 49:48Speaker 4: and you'd be like, but so another great another great pickup.
- 49:53Speaker 4: Don't don't forget Atlanta gets their job, gets a lot
- 49:56Speaker 4: of their free agency stuff done early. They have put
- 49:59Speaker 4: together a banger of a bullpen right now. And to
- 50:03Speaker 4: go with that, starting rotation should be healthy this year
- 50:08Speaker 4: and that position player corps.
- 50:10Speaker 3: Don't don't sleep on the braves.
- 50:13Speaker 1: Mm hmm. They'll have I mean a little chip.
- 50:16Speaker 2: It was a rough year for them, no playoffs, and uh,
- 50:19Speaker 2: they brought in Robert Tuirez. Rice Eglesis is back. But
- 50:23Speaker 2: it's a good looking bullpen right now. And then lastly,
- 50:26Speaker 2: Jake McCarthy traded from the Diamondbacks to the Rockies. He'll
- 50:30Speaker 2: get playing time.
- 50:31Speaker 3: Mm hm.
- 50:33Speaker 2: He's had some moments, yeah, and then he kind of
- 50:35Speaker 2: fell out of favor. You know, he lost some pt
- 50:37Speaker 2: this past year with the d Backs. But you know,
- 50:40Speaker 2: it's kind of like a make it or break it situation.
- 50:42Speaker 2: He had a really down season and then only ended
- 50:45Speaker 2: up going let's see two hundred and twenty two played apartment.
- 50:47Speaker 3: You need a good year. Colorado's a good plays as
- 50:49Speaker 3: an offensive player.
- 50:50Speaker 1: It is so good for him find it again that I.
- 50:53Speaker 3: Don't think I'm the Diamondbacks. So they were like, okay,
- 50:56Speaker 3: trade them, you know, trade them in the division. Get
- 50:58Speaker 3: find the one place to play nice nice chocolate joke Arizona.
- 51:01Speaker 2: He said two good years, twenty two and twenty twenty
- 51:04Speaker 2: four were two solid seasons, So we'll see if he
- 51:07Speaker 2: can find it again. Still, what is he twenty This
- 51:10Speaker 2: will be his age twenty eight season. He's twenty eight,
- 51:13Speaker 2: so there's a little best.
- 51:14Speaker 3: Left on left.
- 51:16Speaker 4: At one point in twenty four he was one of
- 51:18Speaker 4: the best left on left hitters. And that's a really
- 51:21Speaker 4: catapulted his year. I didn't look to see what it
- 51:24Speaker 4: splits were last year, but it's a value that maybe
- 51:28Speaker 4: he can take what he learned and if he gets
- 51:31Speaker 4: every day at bats in Colorado, that can be how
- 51:35Speaker 4: he catapults himself to, you know, to that next level
- 51:39Speaker 4: that it looked like he was taken in twenty four.
- 51:41Speaker 4: Not a lot of power guy, but just puts together
- 51:44Speaker 4: ridiculous runs of at bats, line drop contact like left
- 51:51Speaker 4: on left, right on right, it didn't matter.
- 51:53Speaker 1: Let's slap.
- 52:07Speaker 2: Dodgers' territory is coming up in two minutes live on
- 52:11Speaker 2: the FT Network on their own YouTube channel. They do
- 52:15Speaker 2: good numbers over there. Even if you're a hater and
- 52:18Speaker 2: you want to see what's going on. One topic we
- 52:20Speaker 2: didn't get to today that maybe we'll get you tomorrow,
- 52:22Speaker 2: the Kyle Tucker Sweepstakes. It appears that the Dodgers are
- 52:25Speaker 2: going up against the Blue Jays and the Mets. That's
- 52:28Speaker 2: what Jim Yukatt said, and that's what some other insiders
- 52:30Speaker 2: have been talking about. So we'll see what the Dodgers
- 52:34Speaker 2: or what Dodgers' territory says Katie woot new addition to
- 52:37Speaker 2: the Dodgers' territory. Team will be on that show in
- 52:41Speaker 2: one minute Hot Sheet with me and the Baseball America
- 52:45Speaker 2: crew coming up after that at three point thirty Eastern time,
- 52:48Speaker 2: and stay tuned to that show is going to move
- 52:50Speaker 2: to a different time slot soon.
- 52:53Speaker 1: And Kratz hats.
- 52:56Speaker 4: Well, the Chicago Bears must be the raining NFL World
- 53:01Speaker 4: champions right. Oh wait, no, it's the Eagles. So it's fun.
- 53:06Speaker 4: It's like, just take it, just take it off season,
- 53:08Speaker 4: It's totally fun. Ever since a j Man to Chicago,
- 53:11Speaker 4: the only team that's ever won a championship is the
- 53:14Speaker 4: is the White Sox and Cubs. So good for the
- 53:17Speaker 4: Cubs making a move. That's why were my Cubs hat today.
- 53:20Speaker 4: They're a big market team, big market city.
- 53:24Speaker 1: See where the Bears go this year, Baseball City.
- 53:28Speaker 3: They went further than the Eagles and they beat the
- 53:31Speaker 3: this year. I was talking about this. I'm not here
- 53:34Speaker 3: to talk about the past.
- 53:35Speaker 2: But it's a baseball seat because that's what the titles are.
- 53:37Speaker 2: One Yeah, baseball Baseball City. I think we all on
- 53:42Speaker 2: that one thing, Baseball City, where the titles are one
- 53:45Speaker 2: Baseball City. Guest list for the rest of the week
- 53:48Speaker 2: on our way out here tomorrow, Ken Rosenthal, Craig Stammon,
- 53:51Speaker 2: and Rowdy Telez Wednesday. Sean Armstrong, Mason Miller, and Grayson
- 53:57Speaker 2: Rodriguez are scheduled for Thursday.
- 53:59Speaker 1: Ken's back on Friday, him a fill in the rest
- 54:00Speaker 1: of those.
- 54:00Speaker 3: Time before we go we're talking about. I was at
- 54:02Speaker 3: the Bears game. As everyone knows, dip Shit Derek if
- 54:05Speaker 3: you watch Stranger Things, was on the sideline. He's like,
- 54:08Speaker 3: he's like a young kid, and I wanted to meet
- 54:10Speaker 3: him when I because I saw him and I I
- 54:11Speaker 3: was kind of away from me a little bit, and
- 54:14Speaker 3: I was like, if I go up to him, do
- 54:16Speaker 3: I call him Dipshit Derek because that's his name in
- 54:19Speaker 3: the show. Do you say, hey, you're dipshit Derek.
- 54:21Speaker 1: You should say that, but like, is that is.
- 54:23Speaker 3: That it's respectful, but like I don't know what his
- 54:27Speaker 3: real name is. Hey, you're dipshit Derek.
- 54:28Speaker 2: But that's like going up to half the music artists
- 54:31Speaker 2: that have names, Like you don't have to say their
- 54:32Speaker 2: real name, you just say what they are.
- 54:33Speaker 3: But they're adults, Yeah, they're adults. Is a kid?
- 54:37Speaker 1: See, I don't know what. I don't know he's he's
- 54:39Speaker 1: an actual kid.
- 54:39Speaker 3: It's not like, yeah, he's a kid. I mean he
- 54:41Speaker 3: went he was delightful Derek for about five minutes, but
- 54:43Speaker 3: then he went back to being a dipshit in the show.
- 54:45Speaker 1: Wow. See, I know nothing.
- 54:46Speaker 3: It's the same everybody.
- 54:48Speaker 2: Yeah, someone wanted me to say happy sleep but I
- 54:53Speaker 2: can't say it Sleepier.
- 54:55Speaker 1: They were like, I hope you say it to AJ today.
- 54:57Speaker 3: I was like, too late, we made the rules.
- 54:59Speaker 1: I can't do it.
- 55:00Speaker 3: Someone said it to me today and I was like,
- 55:02Speaker 3: John Hart. You know you guys know John Hart. Is
- 55:04Speaker 3: he said Happy New Year?
- 55:05Speaker 1: And you tell him John, I just I know you
- 55:08Speaker 1: signed me back in the day. But on accepted, all right,
- 55:12Speaker 1: we'll see it. Tuesday m
