- 1:01Episode 134. I'm going to kind of call this
- 1:05take two because, well, we were all ready to go Sunday and then
- 1:08I had a bit of an emergency with Ruby.
- 1:11Don't worry, she's fine. She just messed up her knee
- 1:14again and has an ortho appointment Friday.
- 1:17I am back from Italy and we do have a guest with us tonight.
- 1:21My, my, my buddy buddy that spent the week, I spent the week
- 1:25in Italy with and yeah, she's still talking to me, so.
- 1:31I could say the same thing. Right, right.
- 1:36Well, we'll talk a little bit about our trip too, why we're
- 1:38why we're on here, but I think we're going to dive in.
- 1:43One of the main reasons she's on here tonight is she's been
- 1:47driving an NGDV since July. Yeah, I think it was late July.
- 1:52Yeah. So we're gonna kind of do a dive
- 1:55on the different postal vehicles that we all have experience
- 1:58with. And Lynette can talk a little
- 2:01bit about the NGDV for us. So that'll be kind of cool and I
- 2:06know we got some other stuff to we're going to touch on briefly
- 2:10quickly and whatnot. But other than that, I know it's
- 2:14been a couple weeks, but I wasn't going to let everybody go
- 2:16without a whole another week. So I said, hey, let's see if we
- 2:19can do this Tuesday. Ruby's over here giving me the
- 2:23woo woo, so hey. Guys, Hi.
- 2:30But. Yeah, so feel better soon.
- 2:33Yeah, she's getting there. How was the past couple weeks
- 2:36for you, Josh? Oh I'm still playing truck
- 2:39roulette so on my olog I'm only at about 18 hours right now.
- 2:45Only granted I did have 6 1/2 before the truck roulette
- 2:53started so. And Oh yeah, and then the one
- 2:57truck, the one truck that they did give me that said this one's
- 3:00yours, Kept stalling. That was Friday, kept stalling
- 3:04out. Saturday, kept stalling out.
- 3:05So I rode it up. Mechanic worked on it for like
- 3:082-3 hours on Monday. I got out a third of the way
- 3:13through the route and it stalled and would not crank back up.
- 3:16Rode it, got towed in, rode it. They caught it back in.
- 3:19He came, he replaced all the ignition hardware Monday.
- 3:24Tuesday it stalled out at the stop sign just before the turn
- 3:32where it stalled the day before. Got to it, got it back in got
- 3:38it. And this time he replaced all
- 3:41the sensors. At this point he says it's
- 3:44either needs an engine because it's overheating at that 4 hour
- 3:48mark and cuts off or and or the computer.
- 3:52So we'll see what happens. And they gave me a truck one up
- 3:56that said, will we assign this one to you?
- 3:59That was a Wednesday, I'm off Thursdays.
- 4:03And I wrote it up because the auxiliary fan wasn't not all.
- 4:08And one of my Co workers called me Thursday morning saying, hey,
- 4:12where are the keys to that truck?
- 4:13I'm like, I wrote it up for the fan and I haven't seen the keys
- 4:16to that one back since. So oh, it is an LLV Fender.
- 4:23So yeah, but I'm going to have, since I'm on a Friday, Saturday
- 4:27rotation, my K days, I will have a four day weekend this weekend
- 4:30because on top of all that, my car decided to call it quits
- 4:36after 15 years and 273,000 miles.
- 4:41I'm being told it well, they're like, well, there's two code,
- 4:45you know it, it wouldn't start Friday morning.
- 4:48So I headed into a shop and they told me it needed it, just
- 4:51needed the battery, you know, but the symptoms are not
- 4:54battery, didn't sound battery related when I wouldn't,
- 4:58wouldn't start. And I'm like, did you test the
- 5:02alternator? They said yeah, I tested fine.
- 5:04The battery wasn't passing the load test.
- 5:06OK, fine, put the battery in it. Saturday, my wife got her sister
- 5:11to drop her off on her way out of town.
- 5:14She gets in it, it starts shimmying, shaking.
- 5:16She gets about a block down and the engine light came on and
- 5:22through a couple of codes that by them by themselves is, you
- 5:27know, not so much, but the two codes combined potentially means
- 5:33it needs a transmission. But like, you can try this first
- 5:35or that, you know, the 11 or both of these things to see if
- 5:39that resolves it. So for my anniversary this
- 5:42weekend coming, I'm getting a gamey.
- 5:46Yeah, I know how. That.
- 5:47Goes how about How about you? Meow, how was your week?
- 5:52I know about the them vehicle troubles I guess, but I didn't
- 5:56really. Have the vehicle.
- 5:57Troubles yeah because I just got a new car and I don't enjoy the
- 6:02car payment but my OK so last week was it oh that was the day
- 6:08after Columbus Day the Saturday before that we we're a state
- 6:14that they send out the. Ballots.
- 6:19Ballots to ballots to each person in my state.
- 6:24So the Saturday before Columbus Day, I had about 3500 pieces of
- 6:30DPS 'cause it was ballots. And then on top of like, you
- 6:36know, we start getting all that seasonal mail for Christmas and
- 6:39then we were beginning to get the Prime Day parcel.
- 6:44So it was a little crazy. And then we were off for
- 6:48Columbus Day, and then the Tuesday after my 45 K that used
- 6:55to be a 46 K that went down had 4500 pieces of DPS plus all of
- 7:03the Prime Day stuff. And so working on that day,
- 7:09knowing I was going to make less money was kind of frustrating.
- 7:14But, but in all honesty, I mean, I have the radar reports and
- 7:18that was the highest DPS totals that I've had for about two
- 7:24years, so 4500 pieces. So it was kind of crazy.
- 7:31And then it's just been kind of clean up since then.
- 7:35I was off today, my kids been off from school, so I've been
- 7:39home with him. And what else happened?
- 7:43We had my district meeting that was fun and we had like 1 new
- 7:47first timer there so that was really cool.
- 7:50And yeah, just been trying to enjoy fall and Halloween because
- 7:55it's my this is like my favorite time of year.
- 7:58So I tried to enjoy it, but it doesn't always end up that way
- 8:03so. Kristen.
- 8:04Or no. Oh, we have Lynette.
- 8:05Let's let's ask Lynette. Oh, my question.
- 8:09Yeah. Last Monday is when we flew home
- 8:12from Italy. What a day that was.
- 8:15Oh my, that was a day and. Over being over in Italy, you
- 8:20know we went all day, a lot of walking like every day over
- 8:24there and the plane took off at 7:00 PM, 8/8 and 1/2 hour
- 8:30flight. But we landed here at 10:00 PM
- 8:35in New York City, which is 4 hours from my house.
- 8:38So after being up all day, land at 10, we had to get to my car,
- 8:43get out of the airport, get to my car, get something to eat.
- 8:47By the time we got back to my house, it was close to, I don't
- 8:51know, 3:34 AM, which was fine. But my mom, my mom lives with
- 8:58me. She's 84.
- 8:59She, she had an appointment at 7:00 AM, about 45 minutes away.
- 9:06So got my alarm for two hours, got up and took my mom.
- 9:10She had an appointment for a lung.
- 9:13She's she's got asthma and breathing issues now.
- 9:16But we were we were at her appointments till probably, you
- 9:21know, 10/30/11. Then I get back home and I had
- 9:25to take Kristen to the airport at noon.
- 9:27So, so I still couldn't sleep. So I took Kristen to the airport
- 9:33and then to fly back to Michigan.
- 9:37And I'm like, hey, I must have tried to stay up as a little bit
- 9:41longer. I get home and I took my dogs to
- 9:43the dog park. I don't know.
- 9:47I finally slept. And then it was hard to get back
- 9:50on track, though I kept waking up at 4:00 in the morning
- 9:52because 4:00 in the morning here is 10 AM in Italy.
- 9:57Yeah. I, I can't sleep later than that
- 10:01anyway, I don't know. I came back to work.
- 10:04I went back to delivering mail Thursday.
- 10:07It wasn't bad. My my sub takes good care of my
- 10:11route on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
- 10:14I was off. Yesterday I worked, but my
- 10:17regular day off is Tuesday because you know, that's in DC,
- 10:21which is fine because I don't have to use my sick time because
- 10:25I, I make my mom's appointments always on Tuesdays.
- 10:29So today my day off, she had, she had another appointment at
- 10:3210 and so that took like 4 hours of my day, which is fine.
- 10:36But that's all. How about you, Kristen?
- 10:41Well, when I finally got home home on Tuesday night about 9:00
- 10:45PM because it's a 3 1/2 hour drive from Detroit to my house
- 10:50and and I'd already planned on Wednesday off, but my planar
- 10:55fasciitis flared up two days before we left for Italy.
- 11:02And so I made sure I took some Aleve with me and some KT tape
- 11:09and I huffed it out. We averaged between one day.
- 11:14I think the the the least bit we walked was 7 miles.
- 11:18I think we did 15 miles on the most.
- 11:19So we averaged about between 7 to 10 miles a day walking.
- 11:23And so my left heel is still in pain, but I could hardly walk.
- 11:28So I decided Wednesday I was like, screw this, I'm not gonna
- 11:33go back to work till Monday. So I got on light blue, went at
- 11:37Elra about 1:00 in the afternoon, put in for two days
- 11:40of sick leave and said, yeah. So I went back to work Monday
- 11:43and yeah, I I had to clean up. I wasn't too happy.
- 11:48I knew I was gonna have some cleanup.
- 11:50I mean, that's expected. I was gone for two full weeks.
- 11:53I expected to clean up a little bit.
- 11:54I was not expecting to walk into what I walked into, so Needless
- 11:59to say, my temperament at work has not been the greatest the
- 12:01last two days. Our calves are.
- 12:07I'm just pleasantly. Surprised when I.
- 12:09Yeah, was it? I'm, I'm just probably surprised
- 12:12when I don't walk into what you walked into.
- 12:15And that's after one day, let alone a week or two.
- 12:18I walked in yesterday to a nice hefty stack of rubber banded
- 12:23bundles of DPS stacked up. So I instantly went and grabbed
- 12:26the yardstick and measured that shit and I'm like 06 inches huh.
- 12:30Don't know where it came from. No notes, no nothing.
- 12:34Hadn't no clue. Supervisors know where to be
- 12:37found. Postmaster supposedly is gone
- 12:40this week. Supervisors hiding in the
- 12:42postmaster's office. 2O4B They're running around.
- 12:45It's Monday. OK, I get it.
- 12:48I'll just, I'll, I'll notate it on the 4240.
- 12:51I'll say something when I get back.
- 12:52I'll just get this shit done. Said something to the 2.
- 12:55O4 BI can what I would say I was off Thursday and Friday this
- 13:00week because the car not starting.
- 13:01So like I'm off Thursday for FMLA and I called out Friday
- 13:06because of the car on Saturday. When I came back, underneath all
- 13:11the piles of letters was the window with the 1571 that I had
- 13:18from blocked boxes on Wednesday. So I know they didn't case or
- 13:22carry any of the raw mail Thursday or Friday.
- 13:25OK. They just kind of piled
- 13:27everything on top. Mm hmm.
- 13:30So I get back yesterday, I had a full tub of mail that I brought
- 13:34back. Was not happy about it.
- 13:37My sub who was running the other out that he used to be a primary
- 13:41on on Monday got back just before I did.
- 13:44So as he's walking in the bill, as he's walking across back of
- 13:47the dock to go back into the building, I pull out the tub of
- 13:50mail and I look at him and I said, you know, I say pay
- 13:53attention to forwards for a reason.
- 13:56Pay attention to the forwards. Yeah, that whole tub of mail for
- 14:01the most part was all forwards that was delivered, including
- 14:05two packages. And the majority of it was
- 14:07forwards from last month, 45 minutes to clean everything up,
- 14:11including all the Parge labels, because nothing was done.
- 14:15The case hadn't been notated with forwards.
- 14:18In fact, half the holds hadn't even been marked properly in the
- 14:22case. Oh yeah, yeah, I played a lot of
- 14:24clean up today. I was paying attention to the
- 14:25boxes that were on holds and collected a few of those.
- 14:29And yeah, it's was more than I thought I was going to walk
- 14:35into. But yeah, I took it up with the
- 14:38sub and then the supervisor was floating around when I got back
- 14:42this afternoon because it was Tuesday.
- 14:44So I was actually back by what was that, 230, something like
- 14:47that, 2:45, I don't remember. Anyways, so I said, I said I
- 14:52already talked to him, so don't worry about that.
- 14:54I addressed it with him I said but this is ridiculous.
- 14:57But I brought up the whole 6 inches of mail and I got well
- 15:00I'll have to see what that was and I either way I want to get
- 15:03paid for it because I was not expecting to walk into 6 inches
- 15:07of freaking DPS at my case. I can handle some small piles of
- 15:11mail because I don't know what's going on.
- 15:12These guys are forwarded and this is a different name.
- 15:15I can handle that stuff. But if supposedly the 204 B was
- 15:18telling me it was DPS that was miss sorted into other routes
- 15:23DPS and I was like well somebody could have at least left a post
- 15:27it note or something there telling me what this mess was.
- 15:31But I'm not happy about it and I want paid for it.
- 15:33So hopefully tomorrow I'll figure out what she's going to
- 15:36do. Either do the piece count
- 15:39calculation on the six inches or pay me the straight 8127 time
- 15:44for doing it. And if you're not going to do
- 15:46either, well then I'm going to grieve it because I just told BS
- 15:50because I was gone for two freaking weeks and then I had.
- 15:53Words to my clerk. This morning, because again,
- 15:55same 4 pieces of mail that goes to a city route that I threw
- 15:59back into the throwback case that she had in the hot case for
- 16:02me yesterday was again in the hot case today.
- 16:05So I walked over to her and I said, what route is this
- 16:08business on? She's like, you're a route.
- 16:11I said no, because number one, that business is across the
- 16:17street from the post office. The CBU for that business is
- 16:20literally at the tail end of the drive to come in the back drive
- 16:23of the post office. That obviously is city 5, not
- 16:27row route 3. Well, I, you know, I, I made
- 16:30mistakes. I, you know, it, it, I can't say
- 16:33it won't happen again. I said pay better attention and
- 16:36I walked away. I've just, I, I've been on a
- 16:38tiff. I, I'm, I'm over it.
- 16:41I am so over it. I am over people that don't pay
- 16:44attention to their jobs. Something as simple as just
- 16:48because the name of the business is the Township that I mainly
- 16:52deliver in does not necessarily mean that that's my business.
- 16:56That city, obviously, you even know where that business is
- 16:59located. OK, It's right there.
- 17:01You pass it every day when you pull into the driveway.
- 17:04But yeah, so, yeah, it's been interesting.
- 17:06Couple days back for sure. But Italy was awesome, was it
- 17:09not? When?
- 17:10Yeah, it was I, the top of my foot killed for days.
- 17:15And right when it started feeling better, you know, I went
- 17:18to work on Monday. One of the Subs come up to me.
- 17:21She's she's super sweet young girl.
- 17:24She's like I wear. I used your truck on Sunday and
- 17:26I left my cart in there. Can you bring it back in when
- 17:30you get back? So I told her I'd bring it back
- 17:32in after I loaded and I loaded my truck up, brought that like
- 17:38wheelie cart back in and I went to set it at the case where she
- 17:41was working and it dropped right on top of my foot.
- 17:44That hurt. Oh my God, it hurts.
- 17:48It's it's all right though. It's getting better again.
- 17:52Trucks. Want to talk about trucks now?
- 17:54Do we want to talk about the trucks or we'd want to address
- 17:56the social media rumor meal real?
- 17:59Quick. Yeah, we could do the the social
- 18:00media rumor meal really, really quick.
- 18:03Yeah, go for that one meow, because this is.
- 18:05OK. We were laughing about this
- 18:08earlier, like, oh, we got to mention it.
- 18:13I'm not sure I know what you guys are talking about.
- 18:15No, probably not so. You will, you will so.
- 18:20In a couple of the of the Facebook groups, there's people
- 18:24saying that there is RXV or asking questions about it or I
- 18:32heard. Has anyone heard of the new RXV
- 18:35they're coming out with and it's just kind of taken wildfire and
- 18:42created uncertainty? And RXV or RX-5 just refers to
- 18:50which RX evaluation we are currently in.
- 18:55We have had five different RX evaluations since it's taken
- 19:00place. What was the first one was in
- 19:02April, May of 2023. And then we had another one that
- 19:06was RX1 and then RX-2 was October of that year.
- 19:11RX3 was like April of 2024 RX 4. Oh no yeah.
- 19:17Wait, was that am I correct? I think it was not.
- 19:19It was. The.
- 19:20Fall of 2022, it was supposed to start in the spring and then it
- 19:24got delayed, put on hold. And pushed back.
- 19:27So anyways, regardless, yeah, so we're on the it's if you ever
- 19:32hear like RX and then a number, it's just referring to which RX
- 19:37evaluation we are in. It doesn't mean that they've
- 19:40come out with some blanket new system that you need to learn.
- 19:48The other part of that rumor though, is just make sure that
- 19:54you're doing your scans when you're supposed to be doing them
- 19:58and make sure you're doing your mapping and that's all you can
- 20:01do. Like that's, that's what RX is
- 20:05designed to do. Just do the right thing and you
- 20:09got nothing to worry about there.
- 20:11Hopefully so. So if you see people online
- 20:17spreading this rumor about it until the post, I hear it from
- 20:23the post office or I hear it from the union.
- 20:26Don't there's people who've been Googling like AI Google
- 20:33summaries about RXV. It's not some V for vendetta, RX
- 20:39Vendetta or RX Vengeance. I, I don't know.
- 20:43It's, it's crazy. Nothing's changing there.
- 20:51Just do the right thing, Do your scans, deliver how you normally
- 20:55deliver and and you should be good.
- 20:58So that's that. Yeah, there's.
- 21:05I know. I saw it too.
- 21:06And I'm like, Oh my word. Yeah.
- 21:09And somebody said the benchmarking.
- 21:11Yeah, the, the benchmarking. And granted, yes, they, they
- 21:15shouldn't be benchmarking, but I, I mean, there's 2 ends of the
- 21:20spectrum of this too. You know, there's going to be
- 21:23the outliers of, you know, people who are just sitting
- 21:28there and entering like 20 WSS. Flat.
- 21:33In one day. That's insane.
- 21:36Like I don't think I've ever seen anybody deliver 20 full
- 21:39coverages in one day. You know, so there's things like
- 21:44that and then there's other people, you know who, you know,
- 21:47you might have like, let's say you had a carrier pick up,
- 21:49right? And you picked up a lot 1 day
- 21:52like Christmas is coming and you know, one of the days maybe you
- 21:56picked up 200 parcels and you never normally do that.
- 21:59And it might show up on a report.
- 22:02And if management asks you about it, just be like, look, I had
- 22:05that many parcels. Like you can see it like you'll
- 22:09see me at that business, you'll see my bread crumbs there.
- 22:11Like so if, if you're doing the right thing, you shouldn't have
- 22:16anything to worry about is the, is the bottom line with it.
- 22:20And if management, you know, wants to harass you or you know,
- 22:24if there's, then if there's issues along those lines, 'cause
- 22:27you are doing the right thing and management's harassing you
- 22:29over it, then you need to call your steward.
- 22:32Absolutely. And maybe and maybe you need to
- 22:34file agreements. Over it, that fire report or
- 22:36benchmarking report as some people will call it, is just in
- 22:41the last 13 weeks this one particular item is unusually
- 22:47high compared to your average time that you've done that.
- 22:51It doesn't mean it's wrong, it's just that it shows up as being
- 22:56excessively high compared to what you've been doing.
- 22:59Yeah, which I mean, given the time of the year it is, you know
- 23:02what, that may very well be the case because, you know, you may
- 23:08not have as many going through and then all of a sudden, BAM,
- 23:12you get slammed one day with package pickups and and, you
- 23:17know, authorized dismounts or whatever that you normally don't
- 23:22have. And I think I mean, with all my
- 23:24Cbus, I mean, I only have 13 key turns and I actually only have
- 23:29two locations I actually have to dismount for.
- 23:31So for me to have an actual authorized dismount, even with
- 23:34all my hardships, it's rare. I can count on one hand how many
- 23:38times I've had to use the authorized dismount button on
- 23:41for my route, you know it. And that's not since Rex has
- 23:44started. So, yeah, I mean, a lot of that
- 23:46stuff is going to say something that's out of the abnormal, you
- 23:50know, and. Yeah, I mean like last last
- 23:52Tuesday, I mean I had I had 64 that I entered, which because I
- 23:58had 4500 pieces of DPS and I had I had more ballots in there.
- 24:02It was thick DPS cause of the ballots I'm carrying like with
- 24:07both my hands trying to carry all this mail to these CB us.
- 24:11And so I already knew I was like that's going to show up.
- 24:14But it is what it is. Like you could see my bread
- 24:16crumbs. They're moving in circles from
- 24:20the truck to the CBU like it's it's going to be what it'll be.
- 24:25Yep, exactly. So you know, don't stress over
- 24:29it. Rex 5 is the current evaluation.
- 24:32We're in the 5th Rex evaluation. It's no version 5.
- 24:36It's nothing anybody needs to pull their hair out about.
- 24:41RX Terminators. I don't make like a geek for
- 24:51vendetta like RX-5. Yeah, exactly.
- 24:55Coming to theater soon, Yeah. So I, this is a little segment
- 25:02that we're about to get into that I know we have wanted to
- 25:06do. We've talked about it in the
- 25:08past and that's just talking about the different vehicles
- 25:10that we use on our rural routes. And now that my my dear friend
- 25:15Lynette is available this evening, she drives an Ng DV so
- 25:20she can talk about that experience since she's been
- 25:22driving one for about 3 months now and I know I have LLV and
- 25:28lots of POV experience. Meow, you have a mattress?
- 25:33Yes, I have a mattress and I used to have APOV route so and
- 25:37I've delivered in my car, my non right hand drive car I've.
- 25:40Been there, done yet too, trust me.
- 25:42Yeah. And yeah.
- 25:44I I've done both LLB and FFB. Yeah.
- 25:48And I know Lynette's done LLB as well as Mattress and NGDV so she
- 25:54can kind of compare the three I did.
- 25:57You drive POV in the past though too when you. 1st I did first
- 26:01five hours. She's got the whole spectrum.
- 26:02Yeah, yeah. Yeah.
- 26:05Well, not FSB. Yeah, but yeah, you've.
- 26:08Never used. Four out of the five, so.
- 26:11Yeah, I don't like. The beast feel lucky.
- 26:15You don't like that? You have to pull down.
- 26:19No, no, they I love. My mattress though.
- 26:23They have the power and the torque, but there's the design
- 26:27is not organamic for a carrier. Yeah, same cause with the LLB
- 26:33where you have the space right next to you that you can put a
- 26:36tray or something with your flats with birds.
- 26:39Yeah, it's got the hump with E brake right there, which means
- 26:43all that space underneath the mail tray is pretty much dead.
- 26:46Yeah, I see. When they took my truck down to
- 26:50VMF for new engine which I still haven't gotten back yet and that
- 26:55was in June when that happened. So they eventually.
- 26:59I was playing the LLV roulette at the time and when VMF finally
- 27:06found a vehicle to bring up they brought an FFV and even my
- 27:10postmaster looked at it and went Nope that's going to go on the
- 27:13OX route for now because there is no way her route is going to
- 27:16fit in an FFV so it'll it'll. Fit because it has a little bit
- 27:23more square footage than an LLB. Yeah.
- 27:27It's just not practical to work out of unless you specifically
- 27:31are pulling down for that vehicle.
- 27:33Yeah, and working out of an LLB for so many years?
- 27:37Yep, it is hard to train yourself to switch.
- 27:41Yep, so I drove POV when I first started.
- 27:45I went through several of them as an RCA.
- 27:49It it happens 'cause I personally drove beaters.
- 27:52My very first POV was a 2002 Ford Explorer Sport 2 door and
- 27:58actually it worked out quite well for me.
- 28:00This was pre Amazon day so it was a lot of mail, not a lot of
- 28:04packages and it worked out. It was my ex's vehicle.
- 28:09So when it took a crap and was no longer roadworthy I ended up
- 28:15with a 99 Chevy Blazer 4 door which quite similar for setup
- 28:21wise for me. And I never had pedals in a car.
- 28:26I always drove from the passenger seat straddled.
- 28:29I had that one for a little bit and then thing it like I said I
- 28:33drove junkers. Honestly the best POV I ever had
- 28:37was I got a 93 Oldsmobile Cutlass Sierra.
- 28:43It was given to me. It was my great aunts and that
- 28:46one lasted me almost five years and it was actually my daily
- 28:50driver as well. When I transferred offices.
- 28:53The only reason I gave it up was because the timing went on it
- 28:56and it what to me wasn't worth dumping that extra money.
- 28:59I'd put fuel pump in it. I've done I did a lot of work to
- 29:02that car honestly, and that was probably my best POV that I had.
- 29:06The bench seat was perfect. I didn't have to sit in the
- 29:10middle. I replaced that one with AO3
- 29:14Buick LeSabre, so a little bit wider, had to sit closer to the
- 29:18middle. And I loved my bench seats and
- 29:22it was bench. Seats worked the best, and they
- 29:25do. And again it was a $1200 beater,
- 29:28I had put $1200 into it and then I got a bad rod knock and ended
- 29:33up on the OX route which had an LLVI.
- 29:36Kept my POV around until I went full time on my LLV route.
- 29:41So I've been driving an LLV full time for the last three years
- 29:46and I don't mind the LLV in general for thing stuff.
- 29:52Again, I have a route that most days it's convenient.
- 29:55I can pack that sucker to the brim and I do at times,
- 30:00sometimes maybe over pack it but it works for.
- 30:04As all the doors close. Yep, long as the doors close, I
- 30:07can see out my mirrors. Nothing's going to become flying
- 30:10through whatever. You know it it works for I does.
- 30:14My biggest issues are again, the heat and obviously no ACI mean
- 30:20we deal with it. We know what we got to do when
- 30:22it comes to that. I've been through installing
- 30:26pedals when when Ruby had her short stint as an RCA and we had
- 30:30to get pedals put in. By the way, if anybody needs
- 30:33some pedal pros pedals please reach out to me.
- 30:35I have a set that was only used six times before they were taken
- 30:38back out. But on that note, I I get with
- 30:43why you know the LOV practical for most people.
- 30:47I personally don't have a huge issue with it.
- 30:49I miss my truck because now I'm using Route 2's truck.
- 30:53Route 2 has the OX signed truck and the OX route has the FFV
- 30:58that they brought up. When mine's going to come back,
- 31:00If it comes back, I don't know. But anyways.
- 31:02So yes, LOV's rear wheel drive. That's what biggest thing.
- 31:05It sucks in the winter. I know in Michigan we cannot run
- 31:08chains. My old postmaster at my first
- 31:11office took, you know, carrier safety first and foremost.
- 31:16So he had all the LL VS there was studded tires.
- 31:20He was one of those that do first.
- 31:22As for forgiveness later to, you know, went to bat for us when it
- 31:26came to district over safety, that was great.
- 31:29If they can do that, Michigan, we can't run chains.
- 31:32Rear wheel drive, boom, sorry about that.
- 31:36It actually hit my mic while I was talking, but I talked with
- 31:40my hands and so my microphone got in the way.
- 31:42Sorry, but it's like crash. Oops.
- 31:45And my. Even when I'm sitting here by
- 31:47myself, I still talk with my hands.
- 31:50So anyways, where I used to live was the snow belt.
- 31:54I mean, it was nothing to get 18 inches of snow overnight.
- 31:56If we had lake effect come in where I'm at now, a little bit
- 32:02South and further E about two hours right along Lake Huron.
- 32:07We don't get the snow that I had gotten there, but we get a lot
- 32:11more ice and LLV stuck on ice. I've known carriers that
- 32:15overweight them in the winter and carriers that underweight
- 32:18them in the winter. I think I found my way that just
- 32:21weights it just right for now, but you know, it's and that's
- 32:25and that's nice thing about having a government vehicle.
- 32:27If it breaks down, the post office has to take care of that.
- 32:30Unlike APOV, if you break down and you cannot get back on your
- 32:34route within a reasonable time and get it fixed, as in, you
- 32:36know, plug in a tire, changing a tire, something minor.
- 32:40I mean, I've done roadside repairs.
- 32:41I've been underneath that old Explorer sport with male straps
- 32:47re hanging a muffler in the pouring rain because it was
- 32:51dragging on the ground. We we do what we got.
- 32:53Yes. We've all done car repairs on
- 32:58the side of a road and APOV when you're APOV driver.
- 33:01I mean my one POV in my route he has or he's got a 2017 right
- 33:07hand drive Jeep it you know, he bought it used and he's been
- 33:10running it nearly six days a week every week for the last
- 33:14three years since he took that route over.
- 33:17So that you know there's days where you know what it breaks it
- 33:21on the route. He can't get it get it back on
- 33:23going. Well, now management's on him
- 33:25and he's got to use an annual day because he's got to get his
- 33:28car fixed. Yep, down falls of POV's.
- 33:32Now they're on him because of his second trips and coming out
- 33:34and checking his loading. He's like no, I am not going to
- 33:37box the sucker in #1 LLV's have all those mirrors.
- 33:42So you when the mirrors are positioned properly, you can see
- 33:46just about all around that vehicle.
- 33:48Yes, it does have blind spots. I'm well aware of it.
- 33:51Trust me. Short person side view mirrors.
- 33:53Sometimes I don't see that traffic coming right away when
- 33:56I'm waiting to turn, but you know, he's like, no, I'm not
- 34:01going to stack it up to the ceiling because #1 when I have
- 34:04to hit the brakes, that sucker's going to come flying and hit me
- 34:06in the back of the head. And then you can't see out your
- 34:09windows with your mirrors. I, I remember loading my car at
- 34:13my old office and there's Academy at that office.
- 34:16And the Academy instructor had the, had the new Rcas out there
- 34:20while we were loading. And he looks at my car as I'm
- 34:23loading. He looks at this group of Rcas
- 34:25and he said that is not how you load.
- 34:29I had stuff crammed up in the back window.
- 34:32I mean, it was I, I was the poster child on how not to load
- 34:36a vehicle that day, which you know, is fine.
- 34:39But you know, LO VS can be practical.
- 34:42Some people hate them, some people love them.
- 34:44That's like with any vehicle. That is my experience primarily
- 34:48POV and now and LOV, again, the perks, you know, I can usually
- 34:52fit most of the stuff in the LOV.
- 34:54Downfalls are obviously heat in the winter and rear wheel drive
- 34:58in the winter sucks, especially in icy conditions.
- 35:01We're not allowed chains in my area in Michigan, so no chains
- 35:06for any of that. We're, you know, sandbags and if
- 35:09I have to break them open so I can get some traction to get out
- 35:12of somebody's driveway, been there, done that.
- 35:13It sucks at times. So yes.
- 35:17Yes it does. Yep.
- 35:19We have one mattress. In there.
- 35:22We have one mattress in our fleet and that got assigned to
- 35:25the city route that has all The Walking.
- 35:28I I've been in a LOV with that they put chains on once and that
- 35:33was one times too many. Oh.
- 35:35I don't know how many times I've ridden LO VS with chains.
- 35:39I can. I can preach, you won't.
- 35:41Let us have them either. They won't let us have them
- 35:43anymore because they were, because you can only go like 15
- 35:48to 20 miles an hour and people were going 30 and then they'd
- 35:52bust off and they, well, you can, but they would bust off and
- 35:56then they would wrap around the axle in it.
- 35:58It's the worst sound in the world and you just hit like it's
- 36:04just all. Right Josh?
- 36:07So what is your pros and cons between an LLV and an FFV?
- 36:12OK. As I mentioned the FFV is does
- 36:17have slightly more square footage to it, however they are
- 36:23narrower and longer in the back for the cargo area.
- 36:29The scent with the LLV is open in right next to the seat the
- 36:36driver's seat. So you could potentially get up
- 36:38and walk to the back or put a tray with your small or your
- 36:43smalls right next to your seat on the ground.
- 36:47You also have the slot depending on what what brackets they use
- 36:54to put the mail tray in. You can put one to three hubs or
- 37:01trays with the FFB that space right next to you where with the
- 37:05LLV it has the emergency brake. The the handbrake is up next to
- 37:10the steering column and you pull it or push it back to release
- 37:14it. That is with the FFE, it's a
- 37:17hump with the E brake and right in the middle there.
- 37:20So you lose that space there in the from under the mail tray.
- 37:26It is been completely under there.
- 37:28So you could stuff stuff under but you can't reach it from the
- 37:31sea. So it works for me at my condos,
- 37:35which I work from the left side of the vehicle anyway, and then
- 37:38I pull the parcels up and organize them to drive around
- 37:42the neighborhood, deliver them to the door because I don't have
- 37:44parcel lockers there. But other than that, that's all
- 37:47wasted space where the LLB, the front and the back are level,
- 37:54The cargo area in the FFB is dropped down some.
- 37:59I know some people that I used to work with that had FFBS.
- 38:03We take three to six empty tubs and turn them upside down and
- 38:08push all the way, you know, three across and push them all
- 38:11the way to the front. That would put it about the male
- 38:15tray and the, the side of the, the ledge in the back there.
- 38:21And that way you can stack across.
- 38:24And that way if you have like a male tray, like if you're flat
- 38:27or spurs, it doesn't slide underneath the male tray into
- 38:32that waste of space that you can't get to.
- 38:34And then you'd have to get out and walk around and pick it back
- 38:36up and put them back in order. The FF BS have a lot more power
- 38:42and torque to them. They will, they'll go.
- 38:46They'll get me on the straightaway.
- 38:47But all four wheels are in line where the LLB, the front wheels
- 38:52are about 6 inches on each side in, so you have a tighter
- 38:57turning radius. So I'll catch them on, you know,
- 39:00I'll catch a time up in the quarterback and on U-turn.
- 39:03And I did have a POB ish sort of when I was in RCA just in case I
- 39:08had to give auxiliary assistance on a route.
- 39:11I had a Pontiac Aztec, which you are straddling, but that center
- 39:15console is flat is a actually pulls out as a cool.
- 39:20So it's flat and level with the seats, you know, with the 2
- 39:24front seats. He just had to put a little a
- 39:28thin like pillow or cushion on it, otherwise you were sore
- 39:35down, you know, in your backside for a while until all those
- 39:39muscles started to finally relax again.
- 39:43Meow. Just doing that one the hard
- 39:46way. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 39:48I have. Too.
- 39:49I I I have straddled a 2002 Malibu.
- 39:56Thank God that one had. Sunroof in the summertime it was
- 40:05it was a backup and the back seats laid down.
- 40:07So I I made it work when I had to.
- 40:09And then my my 2018 Jeep Compass that I had that was never fun.
- 40:14One butt cheek and a cup holder and the other one on the seat.
- 40:17Yet I don't recommend straddling those if you don't have to.
- 40:22I I, I have a buddy to remove the center console and had and
- 40:28built a small, you know, out of one by fours, a little just, you
- 40:34know, together a little slap, you know, to fit in the space
- 40:38there. So it was level with the seats.
- 40:40And then he just put a cushion across.
- 40:44He lost his console, but that wasn't, you know, he's like my
- 40:49rear. Comfort is much more important
- 40:52than having somewhere to put useless papers that I'm going to
- 40:56look at. Meow what is your pros and cons
- 40:59on a metric? Well, let me, I'm going to go.
- 41:06I'm going to go back to POV too. Sure.
- 41:08Go ahead. Because I I still do.
- 41:10I miss my POV, but I don't miss, I don't miss the maintenance and
- 41:17the money I sunk into it. So when I first started my
- 41:22office was I think we had 15 POV routes between the two stations.
- 41:29And there was one guy he had started like in the 80s and he
- 41:33had three POV's that he would interchange parts with to like
- 41:38keep 1 running because his route went 92 miles a day.
- 41:44And then like to the point where he and I, I do cut like I
- 41:48learned a lot from him because of these things.
- 41:50But he had like a 1993 Cherokee or 19.
- 41:56It was 1990 in the early 90s Cherokee.
- 41:59And the fuel pump is like in the back.
- 42:03And so instead of him having to like drop it down from the back,
- 42:07he cut a hole in his vehicle so that each time it would go out,
- 42:12he could just replace it and not have to spend all that labor to,
- 42:18like, do it because he just worked on it himself.
- 42:21But when I first got the job, they told me I wasn't going to
- 42:24be on those routes as much. But that was a lie.
- 42:28And so I had a, and I still have it, but it's dead now.
- 42:35A 2012 Chevy Cruze with a center console and I the second route I
- 42:43ever had to do was POV route curb, curbside, not key boxes.
- 42:49And I had this one lady who Long story short, she's she's
- 42:54transferred to Georgia now and I'll never ever forget her.
- 42:57She showed me how to straddle the console and like to put
- 43:01pillows and like where you should put like a tray for
- 43:04outgoing mail and like your soup stuff that you can't deliver and
- 43:09like where to position your trays.
- 43:11And one of the good things too that I was shown is like some
- 43:16people, if you're doing it in APOV and it's not right hand
- 43:19drive, they'll, they'll use like the half trays, those little
- 43:22smaller ones and then you can stack those up.
- 43:24So it's a little easier for you to straddle.
- 43:26And and then my office ended up investing in getting us the big
- 43:33grabbers. So I had in my car, I had like
- 43:38this grabber that I like because that I bought from like
- 43:41Walgreens. And then my manager ended up
- 43:44getting me a different one, but that I like rubber banded.
- 43:48And I don't know, you make things work with what you got.
- 43:51And then I eventually another one of my Co workers, she had a,
- 43:58a 1993 Jeep Cherokee and I would borrow it from her and she ended
- 44:04up just selling it to me. And so I went regular on apov
- 44:09route and nobody else wanted it, but I loved it.
- 44:13And I would go like 6 it was like 70 miles I think, then 65
- 44:18to 70 miles. And what I, what I, what I
- 44:23struck like advice for this. You don't, you take her leave
- 44:26it. I know that we get paid EMA, but
- 44:29EMA shouldn't be considered a part of your salary.
- 44:33And So what I would do was when I would get my paycheck, I had
- 44:38two checking accounts and I would take the EMA portion of my
- 44:43check and I would just immediately transfer it over to
- 44:47a checking account. And I would use that card for
- 44:51that checking account, kind of like a gas card for my route.
- 44:55And then whatever I had left at the end, like before the next
- 44:59paycheck, I would move to my savings account.
- 45:02And then that was the money that I used to maintain the vehicle
- 45:06or get tires or get the brakes changed.
- 45:09Because when you're going 70 miles a day, six days a week,
- 45:135-6 days a week, you know you're going to burn them out.
- 45:17So I miss it. And I almost, I actually almost
- 45:22bought a right hand Dr. Hearse. I had put money down, but
- 45:26eventually like I got pregnant and I kept breaking down on my
- 45:31route. And so I, I was like, am I, I
- 45:38can't go out? I can't go into labor like 40
- 45:42minutes from the. Hospital.
- 45:45And just the anxiety of that, you know, so I eventually bit
- 45:50off and I've been off onto an LOV route and the LO VS my
- 45:59primary guy that I trained with, he my first training day, I'm
- 46:05sitting in the jump seat in the back.
- 46:07He has the brake pedal falls off.
- 46:13I watched him just take it and go, oh, don't look at this.
- 46:18And but he takes it and he puts it back on and he takes like a,
- 46:23a, a paper clip and some rubber bands and like push it puts it
- 46:27back on to like hold for the day.
- 46:30And then he's like, oh, I'll have to write it up when I get
- 46:32back. And that's, that's my real
- 46:38initial view of an LOV. When I did my LOV training, I
- 46:45did it in the snow. So at least I got that over with
- 46:49immediately. But even if you're on a hill
- 46:54like and you're on like a little chunk of ice, you're going to
- 46:57slide even with that E brake. So just make sure that you're
- 47:02testing that E brake. But I would also, I know, like I
- 47:06feel like I, I'm a visual person and like we know how to Tetris
- 47:11how we place our vehicles, especially when you have so many
- 47:14parcels. And like a lot of our job is
- 47:18just putting puzzle pieces back together, but they're different
- 47:22puzzle pieces, if that makes sense.
- 47:24And I used to use that side wheel well door or I call it
- 47:30like the dead zone. And I would put like my carrier
- 47:33pickups over there so I wouldn't have to look at them or they
- 47:35wouldn't like roll around or if like I put the stuff that I was
- 47:40going to take out like first over there.
- 47:44But that's just there's that. But then I, I bet do another
- 47:49route and they eventually gave it Mercedes mattress.
- 47:53Now there's I've seen three different kinds of mattresses.
- 47:59The first initial round, those ones weren't great, but they're
- 48:03OK. But the, I think mine's like
- 48:07either the second or the third round.
- 48:09And what's cool about them? I mean, they have the radio and
- 48:15the speakers and everything that are in there.
- 48:18But my absolute favorite thing about it is that I can open all
- 48:24the doors on each side of the vehicle and load to like each
- 48:30section of my route. Personally, I think that they
- 48:34work best on like your half curbside, half key box routes so
- 48:40that you at least can like you can load your curbside up front
- 48:45and then you can put like in the side door your key boxes.
- 48:48Or if you have like large stops, you can put them in the back,
- 48:51which is what I do. I have like the trays that fold
- 48:55up and down. I know a lot of people don't
- 48:58like they, they're worried about them in the snow, which I mean,
- 49:03there's sometimes where, yeah, like it's rough.
- 49:06But there is ways on mine that you can like downshift it into
- 49:11another gear and put it like in a manual mode and get yourself
- 49:16out of like those stupid ice situations.
- 49:22One thing that my old regular taught me when I was in an LOV,
- 49:27he was like if you ever get stuck, use like if you have the
- 49:31floor mats that are there, put that under your tires and
- 49:36that'll help at least get you past that ice chunk.
- 49:39Hope hopefully. But if so in my mattress I have
- 49:46like a pair of like old chains and I won't they don't fit the
- 49:51tires obviously, but and I wouldn't put them on.
- 49:54But if I ever get stuck, I usually will blow them in there
- 49:58so that I can just lay them down and then get out.
- 50:00You know, what's the other thing?
- 50:03I I'm to the point now to where the shifter is in the by the
- 50:10steering wheel. So you're able to like I, I
- 50:14don't know why I like that a little bit more cons of it.
- 50:20I don't like that it doesn't have enough stickers on it so
- 50:23that people know it's a mail truck.
- 50:25But I've seen some people have put on different ones and then
- 50:31yeah, the shifter, yeah. Where the the blinker stick.
- 50:33Yeah, it's I like that you can change it right there and then
- 50:37you can move it up and down for that.
- 50:39I enjoy having the AC. I'm like to the point now where
- 50:43like I, I'll even just have the fan on like that fan running.
- 50:49I also enjoy that you in the front, you you can only carry
- 50:53three trays up there, but it, it like enforces that safety to you
- 50:58because if you load it too much, they're all going to fly over on
- 51:02you. Like, which is a little
- 51:04different than the LOV because you could, you're only supposed
- 51:07to load 3. But I know people like load
- 51:10them, load them trying to think of what else with them.
- 51:14Yeah, and even the heater works really well.
- 51:18Mine has like 65,000 miles on it now, and I think when I got it,
- 51:24it had like 200 miles. So most of those miles have been
- 51:28mine. A lot of people in my office and
- 51:32just even in general think I'm crazy because I actually love my
- 51:36mattress. They get kind of banged up.
- 51:40So that's a little disappointing because I think people still are
- 51:44in that mindset of like the LOVS, like indestructible, you
- 51:48know, but it's like, let's try and take care of this so that it
- 51:52lasts a little longer, you know, and isn't all janky trying to
- 51:59think of what else with it. That's a weird.
- 52:02The technical term. Yes, yeah, it is a technical
- 52:05term. I just wanted to make sure.
- 52:08Or ghetto fabulous too. That's also another, you know.
- 52:13Yeah, but there's some that I know that they're all Denton in
- 52:16the side already. And I'm like, come on, guys.
- 52:18Like let's just take care of This is why we can't have nice
- 52:21things. They're expensive to fix too.
- 52:26Like there's I I was told like by one of the VMF guys, like the
- 52:32the knobs for the air conditioner and the heater.
- 52:36One of those broke off like a tray hit it or something.
- 52:39And that knob cost like $500 to fix.
- 52:43And so they ended up getting us like these, these like cage
- 52:46things that go over them. So it protects them a little bit
- 52:49more. Trying to think of what else?
- 52:53Oh, the other thing I don't like is that, that I, I'm kind of
- 52:58excited to hear like Lynette's take on the new vehicles is that
- 53:02the, the door doesn't just slide flush with the vehicle.
- 53:07So that's like, and I'm going to point this out, which is a
- 53:12really weird thing because I've had to explain this to managers
- 53:15before. When I mapped my route, there is
- 53:18some of my curbside boxes that I had to move my park point
- 53:26further up and I had A and the to dismount to go to their front
- 53:31door because I can't just open the door and walk out because
- 53:36the the door will hit the mailbox.
- 53:39So if, if you're in a mattress or if you're a route that just
- 53:44got a mattress, I would you're supposed to review your mapping
- 53:48every month. So just kind of keep that in
- 53:50mind. Like if that mailbox, like
- 53:52normally you could just open the door and like what run out
- 53:56versus like pulling up a little bit.
- 53:57But so that's kind of crappy. I have, there's one part of my
- 54:04route that there's no, there's nothing to like brace the wind.
- 54:10And so my door has like blown open.
- 54:13And so it's kind of, it's also janky now a little bit because
- 54:18of the wind blowing. It opened repeatedly.
- 54:22So I think they're gonna the doors of the Yeah.
- 54:26I had I. How are the mattresses when it's
- 54:30raining? Like downpouring.
- 54:33I think. It's raining in a ton.
- 54:36Not really because it's kind of angled.
- 54:39Yeah, I know that there's some people who have bought like that
- 54:42protector, like the LOV, some of the Lovs have them too, but I
- 54:48don't think so because the the window for them is so much
- 54:52smaller than even like the the LLV window.
- 54:56So it, it holds its heat pretty well.
- 54:59Yeah. I was just asking.
- 55:01I remember one day I was, oh, go ahead.
- 55:04No, you're all good. You're asking because why?
- 55:07Because I was going to have to use a mattress one day and it,
- 55:10it was downpouring the day before and I got in the mattress
- 55:14to move it to where I needed to load and the whole seat was
- 55:18drenched. It was just like a month ago.
- 55:21Yeah. And I'm like, Oh my God, yeah.
- 55:25Yeah, the, the thing I also like, I feel like they retain
- 55:29their heat more too than the LO VS because I, I remember like
- 55:35being, I'll never forget this. And this is like why I pack the
- 55:39way that I do sometimes when it's really cold outside.
- 55:42But it was like -5° out and I was out delivering in a LOV and
- 55:48I had to shut that, that back door and I took like a bunch of
- 55:52trays and turn them upside down to like insulate myself with the
- 55:55heat up front. And even like, though the, the
- 55:59mattress has like that cage. I mean, I've moved my trays one
- 56:03time when it was like colder, but like the heater kept up with
- 56:07it. And even like what I'll do is
- 56:09I'll move the, the vent that's near the window, like aim it
- 56:12towards my arm so that it's like drying my arm kind of if it's
- 56:16raining too bad. But I've even, I've, I've had
- 56:20hail before too. Or like the my, me and my one Co
- 56:25worker, we call them the thick raindrops where it's not hail,
- 56:28but it's like a big like coming at you.
- 56:32And Yep, it was, it was fine. It wasn't too bad.
- 56:37So I I I seriously, I love my mattress.
- 56:40So all. Right, All right, now I'm a, I'm
- 56:45about to go into an SDS in DC. It was supposed to be October
- 56:5018th. They pushed us back to November
- 56:5215th. Hopefully, maybe, possibly, it
- 56:56won't happen until after New Year's, but at some point after
- 56:59New Year's, we're supposed to get these new NDDBS to tell me
- 57:03everything I'm going to like and not like, Please and thank you.
- 57:08I Some people really don't like them.
- 57:10I I like them. Everyone's first thought is
- 57:13they're huge and they're so ugly, but they're so nice.
- 57:19They feel so much safer than the LOV.
- 57:21You know what? I don't care what it looks like
- 57:24as long as it gets the job done, you know?
- 57:27Yeah, and there there's so much room.
- 57:30The sea is great. The two the double tray like I I
- 57:36put 2 trays of flats, parcels and then two trays of DPS up
- 57:42front with me. The tray underneath I put 2 DPS
- 57:46trays, one for stuff that out of my DPS and stuff to go back to
- 57:51the office and then one for my outgoing mail.
- 57:56Can you easily get to that bottom mail tray or?
- 58:00Yeah, that one moves forward and back too.
- 58:03They both move forward and back, so you could have one closer or
- 58:08you know, it's, it's nice. It's there's so much stuff on
- 58:12them. There's six trays in the back or
- 58:17and they fold up and down. I don't, I only use the three I
- 58:21use. I use the three lower ones.
- 58:25The ones that are up higher are just too high for me to reach
- 58:28and I haven't had to use them because there's so much room
- 58:31back there. The camera, you can switch it.
- 58:35It has like a bird's eye view where you can look at the top of
- 58:38the truck and see all the way around it.
- 58:41There is some black blind spots though.
- 58:45Another camera you can the 360° camera you can change it from
- 58:50front, left, right, rear. Whenever.
- 58:56What's the biggest difference with loading them?
- 58:58Loading you can't load from the back because the back is they
- 59:02don't want you loading from the back and it is very it would be
- 59:06like the LOV. You could step off on the bumps
- 59:09like kind on the bumper to get in this one you can't you have
- 59:14to load from the side door, which brings me to another
- 59:17issue. It's not really an issue, it's
- 59:20just you can't have the door to the back of the truck open at
- 59:25the same time. You have the door to where you
- 59:27get in to sit open at the same time.
- 59:30Yeah, I, I, someone posted a video on Facebook.
- 59:33I saw that. How's the turning radius in
- 59:36them? It is the same as the LOVI feel.
- 59:39It's turns sharp, like on a dime.
- 59:43Nice and tight, what I said. Nice and tight.
- 59:46A nice tight turn radius. Yeah, yeah, lights.
- 59:49Go ahead, ask me questions. You said you have not been in an
- 59:54FFB before, correct? I haven't, I've only seen them
- 59:58out at the outside of them. OK.
- 1:00:00Well, then I can't ask you how, how you think it compares on
- 1:00:04that, you know, the LLB versus that return radius because am I
- 1:00:08the only one that's ever been in an FFB?
- 1:00:11No, I've been in an FFB. Oh, OK.
- 1:00:14We have like three of them in my office.
- 1:00:16The. P So the PLV routes that I used
- 1:00:18to be on, they're all, they all turn them into FF VS.
- 1:00:22So so one question says where can I leave my phone when you're
- 1:00:26in an NGDV? I usually leave mine in my bag
- 1:00:31or I put it on the lower the lower tray underneath.
- 1:00:36I I was just going to bring up something and I forgot what it
- 1:00:39was now it was it was good too. I'm sorry.
- 1:00:44They they. They do rattle.
- 1:00:48I, I I can say they. Do.
- 1:00:50Oh yeah. Yeah, the the shelvings do
- 1:00:53rattle pretty good when you're driving down the road.
- 1:00:56The trainer guy, the trainer guy before I was driving it, you
- 1:01:01know, on the regular roads, he's like wait until you hear it.
- 1:01:04The back door is, I hope they find something with that back
- 1:01:07door to get it to be quiet. It's, it's the shelves and it is
- 1:01:10pretty loud on the highway or they rattle.
- 1:01:14It doesn't matter whether they're folded or they're not.
- 1:01:17They're they're loud. How's the wind?
- 1:01:20For vibration. How is it with in in in a windy
- 1:01:24situation? I don't notice anything
- 1:01:27different really. OK, they're they're pretty.
- 1:01:30They're pretty sturdy in that aspect.
- 1:01:32Yeah, they feel a lot safer. Oh, right above the the
- 1:01:38windshield is huge right above the windshield like I got to
- 1:01:42pick myself up out of the driver's seat to reach it.
- 1:01:45But there's a whole bunch of pen slots and there's like slots to
- 1:01:49put like 3840 nines or whatever papers you need out on the route
- 1:01:5430 hold cards. So a book there should be a book
- 1:01:58up there like a the manual for the vehicle.
- 1:02:02I've actually looked into that because we got them pretty quick
- 1:02:06and some of them have had some issues.
- 1:02:09Mine had has had an issue with the with the the the door where
- 1:02:16I load my mail in to the tray. When I first got it, it had an
- 1:02:20issue. It kept saying the door was not
- 1:02:25closed and I had to keep taking it to the to the BMF, which is
- 1:02:29right with us at the SNDC. They were.
- 1:02:33Quick, yeah, they were quick fixing it and giving it right
- 1:02:37back to me. And then they had enough and I
- 1:02:39don't know what they did, but they fixed it and it hasn't,
- 1:02:42hasn't happened again since. So that's one of the issues.
- 1:02:47Another issue I had was the windshield wipers were like went
- 1:02:52off the side and got caught and then they're like they were
- 1:02:56moving all weird. And I, I went to the VMF and
- 1:03:01they kind of set the windshield wipers back to how they were
- 1:03:04supposed to be. They still act weird sometimes.
- 1:03:06But I did see a video too of somebody doing a whole like
- 1:03:15hover of the, of the vehicle and whoever that was did really
- 1:03:19well. Who wasn't?
- 1:03:21Do you know Jane or Josh? I I don't know, I just saw
- 1:03:24someone who put made a, a video on the side of the road.
- 1:03:29Yeah. I saw, I saw a part of it and he
- 1:03:32was going over everything. Yeah, I know in that in the one
- 1:03:35I saw, his number one complaint was dust.
- 1:03:38Yeah, the dust really hasn't bothered me much.
- 1:03:42The the issue that I don't like, oh, the two main issues that we
- 1:03:47have that I hear complaints is the driver door is super heavy
- 1:03:52and it is, it's really it slides.
- 1:03:56It's nice that it slides this very heavy compared to the LLBII
- 1:04:03have to usually use 22 both my hands to get it and if you're if
- 1:04:08you're on a incline it's it's really hard to shut the door.
- 1:04:13But. The other issue that is the most
- 1:04:17bothersome for me is when you shut the truck off, which is a
- 1:04:22push button like the mattress, and it automatically puts the
- 1:04:25park and puts the parking brake on.
- 1:04:30You can't just open the door. You got to you got to get the
- 1:04:34five and unlock the door. I just it's just I just wish I
- 1:04:39could shut the truck off and open the door, not have to look
- 1:04:42for the key fob and unlock it every time.
- 1:04:45Yeah, my, my. Mattress like it's it's key.
- 1:04:48It has a it has like this, it's like key fob, but it it's still
- 1:04:52like a key thing that it has. But yeah, I was also going to
- 1:04:57ask you if the lighting in it, have you had to deliver in the
- 1:05:01dark yet with it? I haven't.
- 1:05:05I haven't, but the lighting is pretty good.
- 1:05:07There is a light in the back. There's also a fan in the back.
- 1:05:10I haven't really used it. Supposed to suck out the heat.
- 1:05:14The heat and the AC is both great from what I've I haven't
- 1:05:18used I I haven't drove it in the snow or really cold yet, but
- 1:05:23both of those seem to work really well.
- 1:05:25Did they give you a pretty in depth training on it or was it
- 1:05:29kind of like from the FB to LLLLB to FFB?
- 1:05:34All right, well, they're basically the same, except here
- 1:05:36are the differences. No, they did.
- 1:05:38They did it really well. We went off.
- 1:05:41We, we had to drive like an hour and a half away and go go to the
- 1:05:46driver trainers. At first they were sending us 2
- 1:05:49at a time but now they did get someone to probably a month ago
- 1:05:56or so they got someone from Binghamton to go up to train to
- 1:06:00be a trainer and she is actually training.
- 1:06:04She's been training I don't know how many people per week, but
- 1:06:08it's been getting done a lot quicker because so much easier
- 1:06:11to just go like 10 minutes away, to be trained on the vehicle, to
- 1:06:17drive all the way to an hour and a half away.
- 1:06:21Luckily it'll be all all the driver training unless they've
- 1:06:27moved. It has been out of where the new
- 1:06:29SNDC is going to because it was a GMFA general mail facility,
- 1:06:35which they the end of last year. They pulled all that equipment
- 1:06:39out 'cause that's where all the DPS and parcel sorting and flat
- 1:06:42sorting came from. And that's actually where our
- 1:06:44FSS machine was at in that building before they got rid of
- 1:06:49it. So they took all the mail
- 1:06:52processing equipment out and are in the process of converting it
- 1:06:55to an SNDC. I said lucky you.
- 1:06:58But honestly, I like the, I like the SMDC too.
- 1:07:02I love walking in and everything is just ready.
- 1:07:07I don't have to wait for more trucks to come, wait for clerks
- 1:07:10to sort things. It's all just ready.
- 1:07:13I, I go in there sometimes I'm there 1/2 an hour and I'm out on
- 1:07:17the road because everything's just there sorted all night.
- 1:07:21The parcel parcels are sorted all night or very early this
- 1:07:26morning like 4:00 AM. Have you had?
- 1:07:28To get your. Vehicle towed before the new one
- 1:07:32or does it have tow points like because like it has like that
- 1:07:37that bar that screws into it and they can yank it from that bar
- 1:07:41they. Have big like hitches on the new
- 1:07:44NGDB to tow it in the back and the front I think maybe just in
- 1:07:49the back. Are they just like permanently
- 1:07:51on there or is it like the bar, like the mattress that screws in
- 1:07:54and it's supposed to like no, it's.
- 1:07:56Permanently there in the back, right in the side, you can see
- 1:08:00it's like a big, you know, like a big, a very large door
- 1:08:06knocker. I would explain it as like a.
- 1:08:08Toe thing, toe hook? Yeah.
- 1:08:11Circle toe toe hook, No. The scanner.
- 1:08:14Does that actually charge your scanner or don't use it?
- 1:08:20I can't, I don't ever use it because the few times I have
- 1:08:25used it, I'm like why can't I find my scanner and there it is
- 1:08:29in the scanner holder. I don't use it.
- 1:08:31I at one time I tried to put it in there and look at because I
- 1:08:35heard that you could look at package look ahead on the
- 1:08:37screen. But I really, I don't know if
- 1:08:40this is good or not, but I really don't use that screen.
- 1:08:43I would rather use my mirrors and my windows.
- 1:08:47Obviously when I'm backing off, if I have to back off I use it,
- 1:08:51but that's it. Now I know the AC works lovely
- 1:08:54because I've heard about that consistently for the last three
- 1:08:57months. I'm sorry.
- 1:09:03I I love how she'd rub that in. Oh, my AC is great.
- 1:09:07Yeah, shut up. It's 95° and I'm sweating.
- 1:09:09Yeah, yeah. For you being up to you.
- 1:09:14I know it's been chillier here where I'm at.
- 1:09:17Has it gotten cold enough up there for you to want or need
- 1:09:21the heat at least in the morning?
- 1:09:23And how well is that the? Other day yesterday the heat
- 1:09:26works really well too. I don't even know what day it
- 1:09:29is. Yesterday Monday it was like the
- 1:09:32high was like 4B9 and it was it was pretty cold but I run hot so
- 1:09:37I didn't. I really haven't used the heat
- 1:09:39all day. Nope, it works well.
- 1:09:44The LO VS have that and I think the FF ES also have that
- 1:09:49partition door to separate the cap from the back Does do you
- 1:09:52have that or no? Or is that open all the way
- 1:09:55there? Is the door there?
- 1:09:56I haven't I haven't used it, but it's there to block off the
- 1:10:00back. They say that that can help with
- 1:10:02the dust too, but I I haven't used it.
- 1:10:07I leave mine open there we're supposed to close.
- 1:10:11Keep it closed because then it's the cure.
- 1:10:13In case someone breaks into the the cab part they won't be able
- 1:10:17to get into the back because you need the key.
- 1:10:20At least the LL BS to open it to to get it to open, but I don't
- 1:10:26know many carriers that do. The different vehicles that
- 1:10:30you've driven, Lynette, now that you have the NGDV under your
- 1:10:33belt, which one is your favorite one for delivering mail out of?
- 1:10:38The new one by far. I mean, I was comfortable when I
- 1:10:42used my own vehicle, I was comfortable in the LOV, but the
- 1:10:47heat just that's unbearable. The heat, the NGDV is what wins
- 1:10:54for me. There's a couple little things
- 1:10:56that are bothersome, but not anything compared to that heat.
- 1:11:01Yes, being in an LOV for so many years, I'm just used to having
- 1:11:06to deal with it, you know what I mean?
- 1:11:09Yeah, I mean, I started in 2003. I've been a regular this coming
- 1:11:14May it'll be 12 years so. Yeah, I started in in October of
- 1:11:21O6 went regular in 15th at what, 10 year?
- 1:11:25It'll be 10 years next the end of the month that I've been a.
- 1:11:29Regular option, then you can go high.
- 1:11:32Option well in the spring if I get that low, but I've been a
- 1:11:3748K since before REC started so. Any other questions?
- 1:11:43On the truck numbers. Oh, on the truck?
- 1:11:45No, I don't think I have any lady.
- 1:11:48Oh, when they, when they measured.
- 1:11:50So when you, I know, like if you deliver out, 'cause there's some
- 1:11:55and I, I don't know, there's not that many of them, but there are
- 1:11:58out there. There's some rule carriers that
- 1:12:00deliver all key box routes in pro Masters and they've trained
- 1:12:03them and the people that are in the pro masters have to dismount
- 1:12:07through the side door. Do you, is there anything?
- 1:12:10Well, you can't really get in the back.
- 1:12:13Is there like do you have to like you can just open that
- 1:12:16door, slide out and go? Like if you ever have to get
- 1:12:19out, do you have you should just go out the normal door, But you
- 1:12:22said you can't open the the back part unless the front shut or
- 1:12:27whatever. Yeah, you could do it either
- 1:12:30way. You could stand up, and that's
- 1:12:32the great thing too. You could stand up and you're
- 1:12:35not like hunched over. You could do it either way, Make
- 1:12:40sure. You could.
- 1:12:42Just stand up out of the seat and walk to the back and get it
- 1:12:45and go out the regular door or go out the regular door.
- 1:12:48Make sure you have the key, the key fob thing, because it's, it
- 1:12:52doesn't plug in to the truck. It's just a push button.
- 1:12:56Step out the door, shut the driver door, open the side door
- 1:12:59and go up the stop, you know. Yeah.
- 1:13:02Can you open the side door from inside the truck the the cargo?
- 1:13:06Side I never have the the slide door to get out of the back.
- 1:13:10Yeah, from the on the side where the that you would normally you
- 1:13:14get out the driver's door, close the driver's door and then open
- 1:13:17that one. Are you able to open that one
- 1:13:19from the inside? I haven't tried.
- 1:13:22OK, just a question, you know, 'cause some may just be like
- 1:13:25easier instead of closing the one going out the other, just,
- 1:13:28you know, grab the fob, put it in your pocket, go out the side
- 1:13:32door if you're getting something from the back.
- 1:13:35There is the mirrors, I haven't used this yet either but they're
- 1:13:40supposed to have heaters to get get the frost off.
- 1:13:45Frost or fad whatever you put. There's a button at the truck to
- 1:13:51to heat them off so. You got heated mirrors, you have
- 1:13:54a heated meters, you have AC and you have. 360°.
- 1:14:00Camera on the outside driving, it is not so bad.
- 1:14:05Now what was the biggest adjustment with going from an
- 1:14:08LLV to the NGDV when it comes to driving and the difference in
- 1:14:13size? How how long did that take you
- 1:14:15to adjust to that? It didn't take me long maybe,
- 1:14:20and this is pushing it maybe a week.
- 1:14:23But I mean, you got to take when you're in the parking lot, you
- 1:14:27do got to take it, pull out a little bit more before you start
- 1:14:31turning. You can't just turn like in when
- 1:14:34you're parked in a row of them or you're going to side swipe
- 1:14:37the one next to you. But I, yeah, I that's happened
- 1:14:41already. One of the guys on the team to
- 1:14:45transcend us was saying one of the SND CS in Maryland within
- 1:14:50the first three hours of having the vehicles, three of them,
- 1:14:52back into each other at the dock.
- 1:14:55Oh my God, there is a beeping noise too like that tells you.
- 1:15:02That's why I asked you about the, you know, how in depth was
- 1:15:06the training on them or they say, here you go.
- 1:15:09The the training for me was really good, like they made me
- 1:15:13parallel park that thing like back up between these little
- 1:15:17dinky things and but maybe you know how it is, Maybe everyone
- 1:15:23didn't get great training. Oh no.
- 1:15:27Right, no, the post office not do training.
- 1:15:30Not train. People what?
- 1:15:34I don't believe it. Shocked Pikachu face.
- 1:15:43I love the truck I do there's you get used to it quick.
- 1:15:48I've been, I've been saying I hate this talk.
- 1:15:52I hate to talk. I'm thinking about getting hit
- 1:15:54in one of those things, but I'm telling you, I feel like
- 1:15:57everybody has thought about it. When you're a carrier.
- 1:16:00Oh yeah, When you're in an LOV, if you ever hit, if you ever get
- 1:16:03hit in an LOV, it is not going to be good.
- 1:16:07It's happened. Well, it's what's really sad is
- 1:16:11I one of my I've been texting somebody that that got hit today
- 1:16:15on the route. I'm like one of the business.
- 1:16:18Yeah, in an LOV, they're OK. But yeah, it's yeah.
- 1:16:22You think about it and where they got hit.
- 1:16:25I think about it every time I've delivered through there.
- 1:16:27All right, because you just don't know.
- 1:16:29So, so kind of going back a little bit to what you were
- 1:16:33talking about with the left hand door with the LLV and where you
- 1:16:35store some packages or collection or whatever.
- 1:16:39I use that for my extra trays of DPS.
- 1:16:42So I. I've seen people do that too,
- 1:16:44yeah. I do that for my DPS and
- 1:16:47sometimes my pull down. I use half trays to pull down
- 1:16:50South and that's if I have more than two or three depending on
- 1:16:54how heavy that day is and what I'm doing.
- 1:16:56I do DPS at the front of the tray in the middle is my my pull
- 1:17:01down and then normally I put my small boxes on that side unless
- 1:17:06I have a box holder or WSS or something, then I put that there
- 1:17:12and then my extra trays I put in that additional on that left
- 1:17:18hand door step there. But I do know, and this is
- 1:17:22coming from looking at the one that was at National Convention,
- 1:17:26the NGDV does not have any storage on that left side door,
- 1:17:30does it? No, you're not going to have
- 1:17:32room, but I just put my extra trays in the back.
- 1:17:36Plus, you've got the. Yeah, and you have?
- 1:17:38The second tray. Yeah, the dual trays, yeah.
- 1:17:41You have the second tray that you could put them under there,
- 1:17:44but I put my my I put 2 trays under there for my outgoing and
- 1:17:49then for my stuff that goes back to the office I have.
- 1:17:54There's a quick question and listener comments here, a little
- 1:17:56off topic, but I think we're going to cover it real quick.
- 1:17:59The easy one, since I was totally management, a local bid
- 1:18:02I was successful in is complete. My number one choice went to a
- 1:18:05senior bidder, but my second choice was that carrier's route.
- 1:18:08So that carrier has medical restrictions that they're in the
- 1:18:11process of on no, on the job injury.
- 1:18:15So I'm told I cannot assume their route until they are
- 1:18:17medically cleared to assume the other route.
- 1:18:19Yes, that would be correct I think.
- 1:18:21What is it? Is it six months?
- 1:18:23They have to be able to be 100%, yes, yeah, six months.
- 1:18:27It can be held in abeyance up to six months and that it goes for
- 1:18:31either and on the job or even off the job medical restriction.
- 1:18:34You have to be 100% capacity within six months and it can be
- 1:18:38held in abeyance up to. So is anybody got anything else
- 1:18:42on vehicles? I know, I'm trying to think.
- 1:18:45I mean we could go all day on different ways of loading.
- 1:18:48And I know. Else but you know, PO means I I
- 1:18:51first worked out of tubs. I'd have the tub I pulled down
- 1:18:54crisscrossed into tubs when I first started, had the tub sit
- 1:18:57in my lap and worked out of that.
- 1:18:59I when I had got my, my Lesabre, I had completely change up and
- 1:19:04do pull down into half trays and said half tray on my right hand
- 1:19:08knee my DPS and half trays in my Cutlass.
- 1:19:11I could put a whole tray of DPS in there.
- 1:19:13It's just because of the way I sat in the car and so I could
- 1:19:16pull that and, and now I, I still pull down and half trays
- 1:19:21even in my LLV because, well, I don't like, I know some people
- 1:19:25that pull in the DPS trays. To me, those are too flimsy when
- 1:19:28you're pulling a full tray. I don't like how heavy they are
- 1:19:31in the hard plastic ones. I like the inconvenience and the
- 1:19:35easiness of half trays myself. My DPS.
- 1:19:38Like I used a lot of the half trays.
- 1:19:41Yeah, I leave my DPS in the deep trays.
- 1:19:43When I was pregnant and I was trying to not lift as much, I
- 1:19:47did the half trays, but I actually pulled down into the
- 1:19:52deep trays and then I actually put all my small parcels in the
- 1:19:57deep trays because in the metro she can't, there's there's no
- 1:20:00room underneath. So I have all like my small
- 1:20:02parcels up on the on the tray. With me and I use, I use the,
- 1:20:09the, the tubs for or whatever we call them tubs, but I use those
- 1:20:14for, for my spurs, all my soft packages, anything that's soft
- 1:20:20and somewhat can be compressed, I usually do that.
- 1:20:24So I put 3 underneath my tray and then I have one that sits in
- 1:20:29front of the very front lengthwise and that's the one I
- 1:20:32work out of. And then I, you know, my sub
- 1:20:36uses the deep trays, the EDDM trays for, for smalls.
- 1:20:40I don't put my small boxes in that stuff.
- 1:20:44I put my small boxes on the trays so they're right there in
- 1:20:46front of me. I don't mark any of my parcels.
- 1:20:48So, and I swear by the shelves in my LLV I have to have at
- 1:20:53least one shelf and it has to be on the left hand side of the
- 1:20:56vehicle. If I'm only going to have one
- 1:20:58shelf in there, I prefer the two.
- 1:21:00I swear by my shelves and I, I, it, it irritates me when I have
- 1:21:05to use a different vehicle that doesn't have shelves in it or
- 1:21:08only has one and it's on the wrong side for me because it
- 1:21:10just throws my whole mojo off because that's what we've become
- 1:21:14accustomed to. You have the point is whether,
- 1:21:17yeah, exactly. I mean, whether you're driving a
- 1:21:20POV, you're, you're driving an FFV, an LLV, a mattress or the
- 1:21:25new Ng DVS, We all have our own way of what works for us, each
- 1:21:31individual carrier. So what works for me may not
- 1:21:34work for anybody else. Or, you know, I, I, again, I've
- 1:21:39changed stuff up throughout the years.
- 1:21:41You know, I'll have 11 years total in, in December of two
- 1:21:44years as a regular next month. You know, I've, I have changed
- 1:21:48things as I've gone through and evolved.
- 1:21:51And now I'm pretty solid in what I do because I've got the system
- 1:21:56that works for me. Now, if I end up with a
- 1:21:58different type of vehicle, the someday when I get an NGDV, I'm
- 1:22:02sure I'm going to change up again at first, or if I somehow
- 1:22:05end up, God forbid, a mattress and that no, no, you know, no
- 1:22:09shade at you there because not everybody, you know, some people
- 1:22:11love them. But again, if you're changing up
- 1:22:14a vehicle even from one type of POV to another, even a newer
- 1:22:18model of the same type of vehicle you've been driving,
- 1:22:21sometimes you're going to have to change up because you're not
- 1:22:24going to be able to load it the way or work out of it the way
- 1:22:26you have in the past. So it's just a matter of finding
- 1:22:30what works for you in the vehicle that you're you're
- 1:22:33using. But so far, you know, Lynette
- 1:22:36loves her NGTV. Again, nothing's perfect.
- 1:22:39And yeah, you got all those sensors on there and that goes
- 1:22:42beep, beep at ya and everything else.
- 1:22:45But as you know. Oh yeah, it's coming up to
- 1:22:49mailboxes a lot. You're getting a beeping because
- 1:22:53even grass is going to make it go off, you know?
- 1:22:58Don't. I've.
- 1:23:00I've called it. I told it to shut off.
- 1:23:03And that's the one thing we forgot to do before I left New
- 1:23:06York was the drive by clipping the the the the Bush.
- 1:23:12Yes, I know, deal it. We were gonna do that.
- 1:23:15She was gonna, we were gonna drive out there.
- 1:23:17One of us was gonna have the hedge trimmers in her hand and
- 1:23:19drive up and cut that Bush down 'cause nobody wanted to do it.
- 1:23:26I have a weed whacker of season today too.
- 1:23:29That's. Funny how how is it with
- 1:23:31overhanging vegetation with with the NGDVS, the lower tree limbs
- 1:23:36and whatnot? And have your customers been
- 1:23:38pretty good with you with adjusting with the vehicle?
- 1:23:42I was very lucky when I had my route inspection done.
- 1:23:49The new postmaster that we have rode with me, I think I'm the
- 1:23:53only one in the whole building that he rode with, but I'm not
- 1:23:56sure of that. He did a very good route
- 1:24:01inspection. He actually fixed my GP, my my
- 1:24:05points to fix my where the SPMSSPMS come up, where the SPMS
- 1:24:12come up. He from sitting in the back of
- 1:24:17the what did we do it? Yeah, it was.
- 1:24:20The LOV wasn't. It.
- 1:24:21Yeah, and he sat in the back and he looked at all the boxes going
- 1:24:28through my whole route and wrote letters to them and had them fix
- 1:24:33or cut trees and everything nice.
- 1:24:37Now the one question none of us have asked, and I don't know if
- 1:24:40you have an answer to this because you haven't had to train
- 1:24:43somebody, is there with the NGD BS.
- 1:24:47Is there a way to put a jump seat in there for training?
- 1:24:51I was just about to ask that. The only place I seen the jump
- 1:24:55seat was in the front where the big tray is, which she wouldn't
- 1:24:59be able to take out. You know what I mean?
- 1:25:01Where the when they were training us in Syracuse with the
- 1:25:04driver trainers there was 2 full size seats up front. 1 you know,
- 1:25:10in the spot where we use and then one where the trays are.
- 1:25:14Interesting. But there's no anchor points in
- 1:25:15the back. I'm not sure they're they're may
- 1:25:20be on, yeah. So if anybody out there with an
- 1:25:23NGDV and you're listening and you know the answer to that one
- 1:25:28for sure, is it possible to train new RC as in an Ng?
- 1:25:33DVII would think they did put something in there to be able to
- 1:25:38do that. 'Cause I know that can I know
- 1:25:40they've been go ahead. They've been after that that
- 1:25:46supervisor that died in the back of an LOVI know they're trying
- 1:25:50to like phase it out, but like I would feel like in the in the
- 1:25:53NGV with the air conditioning and the fan in the back that it
- 1:25:59would be more plausible to to do it versus an old LOV and then.
- 1:26:04Tomorrow. Yeah, let it.
- 1:26:06Let let me know. I I'm sure.
- 1:26:08Or you will. Yeah, I will.
- 1:26:09Or I'll remind you. I will.
- 1:26:11Yeah, you remind me. Yeah.
- 1:26:16You're all good. Metris does not.
- 1:26:19It has like some, it has some weird anchors back there and
- 1:26:23I've seen like one office like took some straps and Jerry
- 1:26:27rigged a a jump seat back there and it did not look safe.
- 1:26:33Yeah, I know. So just like I.
- 1:26:36Personally, would it? Do they have that in the FF BS?
- 1:26:39Yes, it is the same jump seat as the LLB all.
- 1:26:42Right, I was curious about. Yeah, just sinkers in.
- 1:26:44Yeah, yeah. I'm glad you like your mattress.
- 1:26:49I I do not like the mattress, just.
- 1:26:54Yeah, most people don't. Most people don't like it's.
- 1:26:57Like with any of the vehicles, you either love them or you hate
- 1:27:00them. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:27:01I haven't driven the FFV or the metros that's in our office, so
- 1:27:05I can't compare. I've only driven the LLV's and
- 1:27:09several different POV's. But yeah, I, yeah.
- 1:27:14You love them or you hate them. Yeah, I've only met like one
- 1:27:19person that likes them like I do, I guess.
- 1:27:23You know what? A couple people I know that like
- 1:27:25them are all vertically challenged.
- 1:27:30Hey, the person that I'm talking about is in this chat right now
- 1:27:32and they are not vertically challenged.
- 1:27:34So I AM 54 and I do love my mattress.
- 1:27:43Like I said, because the one of the one of the women that has a
- 1:27:49mattress that at my station she loves, she's like, yeah, and I
- 1:27:53can stand up back here. She says you you be cunched over
- 1:27:57like no, no, but. You would I will just be sponge
- 1:28:04in the front. Of of your of your NGVV.
- 1:28:07See I did. You that on the match better.
- 1:28:10Oh, yeah. Does your back feel better in
- 1:28:12the, in the NGDV, 'cause you're not hunched, you're not having
- 1:28:17to go to the back like that. They used to tell us like in the
- 1:28:20driver training like don't reach your your left arm back and like
- 1:28:26go through that door because you're gonna like tear your
- 1:28:30rotator cuff like reaching or you're gonna hurt your back with
- 1:28:35that. But if it's it seems easier and
- 1:28:37then the tray coming closer to you.
- 1:28:39Yeah, both trays will come come closer to you.
- 1:28:42There's two adjustment things on the seat too.
- 1:28:46It tips. I mean, you can make it however
- 1:28:49is comfortable, but it is. I like the seat too.
- 1:28:55It. Has steel and then yeah, yeah.
- 1:28:59Nice. The mattress does.
- 1:29:01My mattress does. I know all.
- 1:29:02Not all of them do, but mine has it and I love it.
- 1:29:05Yeah, I've been looking forward to getting one of those since I
- 1:29:08first saw first heard about it. Follow them in Orlando in. 2022.
- 1:29:14What was that, 20? Yeah.
- 1:29:16Yeah, yeah, it's yeah. So you know, some of us will
- 1:29:21never see one in this decade. You might, but you can say never
- 1:29:26but. I said this decade.
- 1:29:28It'll be in the postal museum. Yeah, too next to the next to
- 1:29:33the the non driven LOV in there. Which I just laughed when I saw
- 1:29:37that picture and I was like, dude, we've got one in our fleet
- 1:29:41that's only 3002. Off the line after that.
- 1:29:44Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:29:46There's some of that, some of those LO VS are as old as I am,
- 1:29:50or they're old and like there might be the year I was born and
- 1:29:53I'm just like Oh my God, like. I'm sorry, I know you're all the
- 1:30:00yummy one in here. I know.
- 1:30:02That's I was like Yep, sorry y'all.
- 1:30:05And the sad thing is, I'm the second youngest one in here.
- 1:30:10Well, let's see, they're what, 80 Lovs were 87 to 94, right?
- 1:30:15Yes. Yes, I used to drive one that
- 1:30:18was on my my secondary that was from 1989 and the wiring harness
- 1:30:23caught on fire in it and smoked out the whole front of my
- 1:30:27vehicle on like a first Monday of the new year on a business
- 1:30:31route day after holiday. We have an.
- 1:30:33It was, yeah. We have an 87 in our fleet.
- 1:30:36That's the arch truck. Mine is a 93.
- 1:30:39Route 2's that I'm currently driving is a 93.
- 1:30:42We have an 88 and a 91. Oh.
- 1:30:49A 90 and I think the other one is a 93 as well.
- 1:30:56But the one that I had that disappeared on me a few years
- 1:30:59back was a 431, which is 94. The one that stalls out after
- 1:31:05four hours is a 431 also. So oh, we discussed about
- 1:31:12mentioning that all disputes are due by this Friday the 24th.
- 1:31:17Yes. That was so you need to get them
- 1:31:19going. To mention on Sunday and well,
- 1:31:23Sunday didn't happen. So yes, Friday the 24th.
- 1:31:27Your disputes need to be filed by the 24th.
- 1:31:30Now I'm just telling you what my Dr. has told us at our booster
- 1:31:36this weekend. Yes, that working with labor as
- 1:31:40visits postmarked by, he will still be able to hear them.
- 1:31:44If you wait until next week to send it, it's not happening.
- 1:31:47They will probably not start working on them until at least
- 1:31:52here. The week after he said probably
- 1:31:55the week of the 3rd is when he's going to actually start sitting
- 1:31:57down and with labor. Yeah, I got.
- 1:32:01Fine in before we left for Italy and and so I did get a copy of
- 1:32:06it back. Let me know that she did send it
- 1:32:09up already. So that was waiting for me when
- 1:32:11I got back. But yeah, disputes guys, if you
- 1:32:14have a viable dispute, which we've covered in previous
- 1:32:17episodes, sales are due by the 24th no later.
- 1:32:21And it says right on the new on this spin e-mail surveys dispute
- 1:32:26form which is found in the NRLCA website.
- 1:32:28And it it says right on it due by October 24th, which is Friday
- 1:32:33and it's payday and yay. Oh, also.
- 1:32:37I believe it actually does say that they are allowed to be
- 1:32:41electronically sent. Also on the NRLCA website under
- 1:32:47the What's New if you Scroll down, I don't remember the exact
- 1:32:50date I saw it before we left to go to Italy.
- 1:32:54For those of us that are Table 2 carriers and we were curious on
- 1:32:58when the 50 weeks between step increases took effect.
- 1:33:03That went into effect at the beginning of the new guarantee
- 1:33:06period on 10/4. Those pay charts reflecting the
- 1:33:1050 weeks are available. It's under the What's New on the
- 1:33:14NRLCA website. If you go under the member
- 1:33:17research or the department or excuse me, director, the Labor
- 1:33:21Relations site and look up like you normally would tab for your
- 1:33:25pay chart, it won't be on there. It's under the What's New tab.
- 1:33:29And the and you also if you're on table two, well any
- 1:33:34everybody, all the regulars got a new form 50 at the beginning
- 1:33:38of the guarantee year. But table two people got two
- 1:33:41form 50s. One of them is indicating the 50
- 1:33:44week change for the for each step and the new RX evaluations.
- 1:33:50So if you're confused why you got, yeah.
- 1:33:53Oh, I got. Two, I was actually thinking,
- 1:33:55well, I won't fall in the 180 days, but I actually I do.
- 1:33:58So I will actually I get my step increase in a couple weeks and
- 1:34:02then the new general wage and increase, the 1.4% comes out
- 1:34:07November 22nd. So yeah, I get 2 increases
- 1:34:11coming up next month. I thought they're going to be on
- 1:34:14one check but not anymore because the 50 weeks went into
- 1:34:16effect so. Yeah.
- 1:34:19Yeah, I, I was thinking I wasn't going to get it this time
- 1:34:23around, but I they got it going, beginning of the guarantee
- 1:34:26period would actually make sense.
- 1:34:28So they gave them up to 180 days.
- 1:34:30They were able to do it in under 180 days.
- 1:34:33Beginning of the new guarantee. Woohoo.
- 1:34:35Yep. And like I said, those paid pay
- 1:34:38charts are available, but you got to go under the What's New
- 1:34:41tab on the website and find. I don't remember the date again,
- 1:34:45it was towards the end of September.
- 1:34:47I don't have it up. And I saw it briefly before we
- 1:34:50left to run off to Italy. And yeah, I'll talk more about
- 1:34:54Italy next time because it's going late and yeah, we wanted
- 1:34:59to get this done. So, guys, yeah.
- 1:35:02So words of advice, though, especially with the social media
- 1:35:07stuff, rumors don't rely on Google AI for information.
- 1:35:18You know how many AI things I see copied and pasted as
- 1:35:23replies? No, guys, a lot of the stuff
- 1:35:27that you have questions on, either one, reach out to your
- 1:35:30steward or your ADR or your Dr. for clarification.
- 1:35:34Go to the websites. If you're a dues paying member,
- 1:35:38get on that website. There is so much information
- 1:35:42there and a lot of your questions.
- 1:35:44Yeah, I know it can be kind of hard to navigate when if you're
- 1:35:47not used to it. Sometimes you just got to take
- 1:35:49that time and date dive and figure out how the website
- 1:35:52works. The app is wonderful in that,
- 1:35:55especially going for the Steward reference guide.
- 1:35:57You just hit that SRG on the bottom, bam, it's right there.
- 1:36:00You hit the letter that you something you're looking for.
- 1:36:02Again, sometimes it's not always there and you got to go look
- 1:36:05under something else. Trust me.
- 1:36:09Yeah, that. Well, that's what I'm doing
- 1:36:10right now. Yeah.
- 1:36:12I just went like 4 different letters looking for that
- 1:36:15question. That's there.
- 1:36:16Yeah. But abeyance isn't on there.
- 1:36:20It's not under abeyance, it's under bidding, Yeah.
- 1:36:25Some things you would think are one thing and they're not,
- 1:36:27they're under something else. So yes, that can be a little
- 1:36:30nerve wracking at times when you're trying to find something
- 1:36:32quick that or you know, if you know somebody that knows it a
- 1:36:35little better than you do, you can always ask them, hey, where
- 1:36:37is this? But again, that's what your
- 1:36:39stewards are there for. Your ADR, your Dr., give them a
- 1:36:42phone call, shoot them an e-mail.
- 1:36:44They prefer phone calls or e-mail, not necessarily text
- 1:36:48because, well, texting is technically not a form of
- 1:36:53communication acceptable and which we all know.
- 1:36:57And there is documentation on that.
- 1:36:58Especially when it comes to management texting us and
- 1:37:00texting us on our phones and texting us on the scanners and
- 1:37:03calling us on our phones. You can't fight that.
- 1:37:06There is documentation from that.
- 1:37:07And then that goes all the way back to like 10 years ago.
- 1:37:10So on that note, guys, you know, POVSI mean I do I miss driving
- 1:37:16APOV at times. I miss the comfort of my own
- 1:37:18vehicle at times. I definitely don't miss the
- 1:37:20repairs, the money. I you know, I've got an LLV.
- 1:37:26I'll deal with it until I eventually get something new.
- 1:37:30And we're a small office in northern Michigan.
- 1:37:33I don't expect to see it anytime soon.
- 1:37:37We've got, you know, I want to thank Lynette for coming on and
- 1:37:41kind of giving us her little rundown and her her pros and
- 1:37:45cons of the AGDV because there's not a ton of them out there just
- 1:37:49yet. You know, they're going to the
- 1:37:51SND CS mainly first and she's lucky enough to have gotten 1
- 1:37:55back in July and has been driving it for three months.
- 1:37:59So after the winter time, we might have to have you come back
- 1:38:03and tell us how it does in the winter.
- 1:38:05Yeah, seriously. And they are.
- 1:38:07Standing on the timeline, I might be able to.
- 1:38:10Yeah, standard issue is front wheel drive.
- 1:38:13They do have some all-wheel drive ones out there.
- 1:38:16Where they're going I don't know, but they that is the
- 1:38:19biggest difference as well from an FFV and an LLV and the
- 1:38:23mattress is those are all rear wheel drive and the NGDVS are
- 1:38:27front wheel drive. One of the other another thing
- 1:38:29is they showed us that the all the ones we got are gasoline
- 1:38:34vehicles, but they do have a spot in the back to convert them
- 1:38:39to electric if they ever wanted to.
- 1:38:43Yeah. I I think that was part of the
- 1:38:45original contract is that they could retrofit them.
- 1:38:49Heck yeah. Seriously, those Thank you,
- 1:38:53Lynette. Thank you.
- 1:38:55Yeah. Thank you, Lynette.
- 1:38:57So we're gonna go ahead and wind this down.
- 1:39:01And final thoughts, Josh? Excuse me, I know it's been a
- 1:39:06little warm in some places still, so keep hydrating.
- 1:39:09Even if it's cold, keep hydrating.
- 1:39:12We're getting into that season, so just get ready to hug and
- 1:39:16kiss your loved ones and tell them you'll see them after New
- 1:39:18Year's. We're not quite there, but we're
- 1:39:21getting close. Don't get stressed, don't get
- 1:39:24overwhelmed. If you do, take a step back,
- 1:39:27take a deep breath and step back in.
- 1:39:30Have a good week and we'll catch you next time.
- 1:39:33Meow well. Thank you guys, seriously, thank
- 1:39:36you, Lynette, 'cause that's yeah, like it's, it's such a new
- 1:39:39thing that I know that there's a lot of people who have a lot of
- 1:39:42questions about it. So it, it was very much
- 1:39:46appreciated. I'm glad that you guys also had
- 1:39:50a fun trip in Italy and it's been nice talking with.
- 1:39:54Yeah, and. It's been nice chatting with
- 1:39:57everybody about postal stuff. I know we all ramble and
- 1:40:00whatnot, but it's still, it's still fun to vent and figure out
- 1:40:05because we all do things differently.
- 1:40:09We. Yeah.
- 1:40:09And it's similar, but all but a little different, you know?
- 1:40:13So just the other thing I was going to say too yeah just yeah,
- 1:40:18Fact Check your sources of of information because yeah I mean
- 1:40:23that Kristen already said it too.
- 1:40:26You would you think you can just Google it and Google AI will
- 1:40:29know the answer but it it does not always cancer either so so.
- 1:40:37It knows the answer if it makes it up.
- 1:40:40Yeah, and then somebody else posted like some ChatGPT answer
- 1:40:44in there too and I was like what like this is not right.
- 1:40:48So just Fact Check your stuff. Don't believe everything.
- 1:40:53The don't read them comments. That's that's what my brother
- 1:40:56tells me that he's like don't read the comments Corey, don't
- 1:40:58read them. It'll be fine.
- 1:40:59But. That's how you pop the pop
- 1:41:02before you go. Read in the comments.
- 1:41:04Yeah, then you can really just sit there with it.
- 1:41:06Yeah, so get those disputes in and if you're having issues with
- 1:41:12that, please like call your steward because manager, the
- 1:41:17manager should be meeting with you.
- 1:41:19I know it's we're kind of in that crunch time now of panic,
- 1:41:22but get them in if you need them.
- 1:41:26So yeah, I had something else I can't remember because my
- 1:41:31brain's broken. But stay safe, everybody, and
- 1:41:35have a good week. All right, Lynette.
- 1:41:38Nope, she already left the Spur tonight.
- 1:41:40She peaced out. She did she.
- 1:41:42Did. Yep, it's me.
- 1:41:45So yeah, guys, I mean, you know, we wanted to get out there and
- 1:41:49we, we have discussed with bringing her on in the past for
- 1:41:52the NGDV. So we, you know, I, I get
- 1:41:55there's a lot of right hand drive POV's out there.
- 1:41:58Kudos to you. I personally never drove a right
- 1:42:01hand drive. I never did a conversion.
- 1:42:04The only experience I have was putting the pedals and taking
- 1:42:08them out out of Ruby's vehicle. I never even drove it with the
- 1:42:11pedals in there. So that I am the last person
- 1:42:14about that. But if you need a set of pedals
- 1:42:16that let me know because I have some sitting in my garage that
- 1:42:19are like brand new. So anyways, I'm not going to use
- 1:42:25them anytime soon. So, but yeah, no, I I think
- 1:42:30because there's so many different vehicles that we do
- 1:42:32have available now that are out that am I saying that that we do
- 1:42:36have available because we all know that a lot of them are
- 1:42:39going to get crunched, but there is a lot out.
- 1:42:42In LOV graveyard. Yes I mean I just in my small
- 1:42:47office alone of 6 rural routes and ox route and two three city
- 1:42:52routes. We have an FFV loaner, we have a
- 1:42:56Metris on the city route, and the rest are LO VS and one POV
- 1:43:00route. And I'm not including the
- 1:43:03highway contract because, well, they're technically not under
- 1:43:07our umbrella. So I do have a highway
- 1:43:09contractor out in my office as well.
- 1:43:11But so, yeah, so you know, the you, you see, you see offices
- 1:43:15like that that have one of everything at the moment.
- 1:43:18And now with the NGD VS rolling out with primarily the SND CS
- 1:43:25first, you know, you're going to start seeing them.
- 1:43:28That was really, really fun for me to actually when Lynette and
- 1:43:31I were driving from her house and course, you know, as we are
- 1:43:35mail carriers and she's pointing out, oh, this used to be part of
- 1:43:38my route. Oh no, this is part of my route.
- 1:43:40And waiting, you know, it's Sunday as we're heading out to
- 1:43:44the to New York City. You know, it's a four hour drive
- 1:43:46from her house to go to JFK. And we passed the Amazon Sunday
- 1:43:50delivery person driving an NGDV, You know, so I had to take a
- 1:43:54picture. I was like, oh duck mobile in
- 1:43:56the wild. That's great.
- 1:44:02I know, right? And, and of course I'm sitting
- 1:44:05there in the passenger seat in the car with her and she's
- 1:44:07pointing out, you know, like we do with our friends and, and
- 1:44:11family when we're driving parts of our route going oh, blah,
- 1:44:13blah, blah. And I'm like, now I know how my
- 1:44:15kids feel when I do this to them in the car.
- 1:44:21It was very cool because that's an area I've never seen before.
- 1:44:23So, you know. Yeah.
- 1:44:27And oh, yeah. When we were in Italy, real
- 1:44:28quick before I sign off, I because, you know, they're
- 1:44:32different and I've seen posts. We've had a lot of carriers
- 1:44:35going to Italy this year. I saw, you know, another one
- 1:44:38that had a picture of one of the small offices outside of the
- 1:44:42Vatican. I didn't see one in Rome
- 1:44:44personally, But when we were in Naples and one of our walk one
- 1:44:47day through Naples was the big main office in Naples and it was
- 1:44:53huge. And then I did see a smaller one
- 1:44:57the next night when we were walking around.
- 1:44:59That was closed, but I did see a Italian mail carrier walking
- 1:45:06with the satchel. But then I noticed his vehicle
- 1:45:10was a Vespa. So there are there are carriers
- 1:45:13in Italy that use mopeds for delivering the mail.
- 1:45:17And he had a lock box on the back of it that, you know, had
- 1:45:21the the post Insignia on it. And I was like, huh, I should
- 1:45:26have took a picture. But we were, we were walking and
- 1:45:29I, our minds are we're trying to figure out where the hell we
- 1:45:32were going. You know, we got Google Maps up
- 1:45:34on one phone. Why?
- 1:45:35We're all trying to figure out where the hell we're at.
- 1:45:37So but yeah, that was really cool.
- 1:45:39You know, I see, I was like, oh, that was the mail carrier.
- 1:45:42She's like, huh, Because I saw him putting something in boxes.
- 1:45:44But I'm like, really? He didn't pay attention to the
- 1:45:46fact he had a Szechuan and the Italian post outfit.
- 1:45:50And then I see the Vespa and I'm like, oh, he's delivering mail
- 1:45:54from an old pad. OK, so yeah, you know, a little
- 1:45:59differences, but it's still pretty cool.
- 1:46:01But on that note, guys, yes, we are coming into holiday season
- 1:46:06is quickly coming upon us. I know.
- 1:46:08I got that talking to you last night.
- 1:46:10It seems like it's going to get later and later.
- 1:46:12Well, Well, yeah, yeah, Yeah. I had to remind the other half
- 1:46:16that, yes, I didn't get home till 6:00 tonight for the sheer
- 1:46:20fact that I've been gone for two weeks and had to play clean up
- 1:46:22today and clean up. Yeah.
- 1:46:24And it was Monday and the 45 minutes end of shift from
- 1:46:28playing cleanup. Yes, I said, but I said holiday
- 1:46:32season is quickly coming upon us.
- 1:46:34It's going to be, it's going to get later and later.
- 1:46:38And you know I'll see you come New Year 'cause I'm pretty sure
- 1:46:40I'm going to end up working most my K days between now and
- 1:46:43Christmas anyways. Yeah.
- 1:46:45Yeah. Yeah, I'm going to set my
- 1:46:47Christmas tree up early. We have two Subs in the office,
- 1:46:50so yeah, that's what's going to happen.
- 1:46:52So I already have that feeling. But on that note, guys,
- 1:46:56remember, always stay hydrated, regardless of the time of year.
- 1:47:00Hydration is important. I'm going to push that.
- 1:47:02Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Lynette is calling me right now,
- 1:47:06but I'll call her back when I'm done.
- 1:47:08And stay safe out there, Stay vigilant.
- 1:47:15Get your disputes in by Friday the 24th and we should be back.
- 1:47:22A normal day and time coming up, am I right guys?
- 1:47:25Nothing going on this weekend with anything, all right?
- 1:47:28Sunday night. Recording Monday.
- 1:47:31Y'all can listen to us so. But at least we got something
- 1:47:34out for you this week so you didn't have to wait yet another
- 1:47:36week. And we talked about the
- 1:47:38vehicles. And please, please Fact Check
- 1:47:41the social media stuff. I mean social media is can be
- 1:47:45great for bringing people together, tossing ideas out,
- 1:47:48getting directions on where to look for stuff.
- 1:47:51But don't rely on it on your information.
- 1:47:54If you are a Deuce paying member, please go to the NRLCA
- 1:47:59sites. Plenty and plenty of
- 1:48:01information. Tons of information there.
- 1:48:03I can't. I mean I haven't even looked at
- 1:48:05all the information on there and I am on there almost every day
- 1:48:08for one thing or another. You know there are other avenues
- 1:48:11if you do not have access to the website to get that information.
- 1:48:16You can always reach out to your designated stewards, whether
- 1:48:21it's a local area, ADR, your Dr., you know, they should be
- 1:48:26valuable resources for you as well.
- 1:48:29If they are not, well, we're not going to talk about that right
- 1:48:31now. We're not going to get into that
- 1:48:33because that's for another episode down the road.
- 1:48:36I do know we are going to try and put together something about
- 1:48:40the history of the NRLCA that will probably be a multi episode
- 1:48:45series and we were going to do that after the holidays.
- 1:48:51Yeah, yeah. That's kind of like a that,
- 1:48:54that's a, that's a, a, that's a project between me and Meow that
- 1:48:58we really want to try and do. So I think that's going to bring
- 1:49:01a lot of understanding to especially some of the newer
- 1:49:04people and, and where our association started and, and how
- 1:49:09it got to where it is now and, and that type of stuff.
- 1:49:13And there's some really fun, cool stuff in there.
- 1:49:16And so we're going to do that. That'll be again after the
- 1:49:20holidays cause we all know it's coming upon us.
- 1:49:24We've already had Columbus Day. We all know that's the
- 1:49:26unofficial kickoff. And for now, it's all uphill
- 1:49:30until Christmas. So but yeah, guys, stay safe,
- 1:49:35stay vigilant, stay hydrated, stay warm.
- 1:49:38If it's cool, it's starting to get colder where you're at, stay
- 1:49:41cool if it's still hot where you're at, You know, some of us
- 1:49:44in the Midwest, we never know, it could be 80° one day and 40
- 1:49:48the next. That's just how it is.
- 1:49:50I we've been getting rain here finally, but it's cooled off.
- 1:49:54I actually ran the heat in the LOV today a couple different
- 1:49:57times. So it, you know, you got to do
- 1:50:01what works best for you. If anybody has any questions or
- 1:50:05ideas, because maybe you're newer or you've got a system
