- 0:47[SPEAKER_01]: Week two of Brown's Training Camp wrapped up.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna go through a recap here, break some things down for you guys, but the reason.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_01]: That Cleveland Brown's football is back in full swing.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_01]: is because we've got drama.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my goodness, if you have been following along, things got freaking weird yesterday at Saturdays practice and there's been a lot of speculation and controversy following the practice.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_01]: And things got even more weird here this morning.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm going to go through all of that for you guys here.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_01]: We'll talk about the quarterback situation first because obviously, when you talk Cleveland Brown's drama, that goes hand in hand with quarterback competition.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_01]: They just you cannot have one without the other.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_01]: So,
- 1:31[SPEAKER_01]: We will start there.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_01]: That's where we're going to focus primarily, but I want to go after that.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_01]: There's so much more to talk about with this team with what's going on in training camp.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_01]: I want to go position by position.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_01]: Give you guys some updates just from the week.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_01]: Justin and myself, we actually went to training camp on Thursday.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_01]: So we were there boots on the ground, watching the team, learning everything.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_01]: I got some cool stories from that day as well.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll go through that.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_01]: And I just want to bring you guys.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_01]: Everything that I know, everything I've collected from training camp over the last week, and, you know, give them the comments.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_01]: We'll dissect some of this stuff here together.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_01]: Before I do, this is it guys.

- 3:43[SPEAKER_01]: So that is draft day dudes.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_01]: dot com promo code dogs d a w g s and join the dogs dot com to get into our fantasy leagues come on play with us.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be a ton of fun.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_01]: Quarterback drama and Cleveland.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't have I don't have notes.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I don't run out line prepared here.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_01]: So kind of like last week, I'll probably be just rattling off some thoughts and random things throughout.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_01]: But what happened specifically yesterday?
- 4:13[SPEAKER_01]: No, let's not start there.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go back to Thursday because Thursday, I was at training camp.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_01]: Me and Justin went up and took my dad.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_01]: We had a great time up there at Brown's training camp.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_01]: And just by happened, you know, by having chance, we sat right next to
- 4:28[SPEAKER_01]: the Browns film breakdown crew.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_01]: So Jake Burns, Brad Ward sat right next to us in the stance.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_01]: So we sat there and we talked with them the entire practice.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_01]: Bounce some ideas off of them.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_01]: They asked us some questions and we just kind of collaborated right there in the stands.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_01]: So one thing I can tell you guys from talking to Jake now, Jake and Brad have been at training camp all week.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_01]: So they've been to every single practice.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm picking their brain because I trust their valuation.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_01]: If you guys don't follow Brown's Film Break down, go check them out.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_01]: They've got a podcast.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_01]: They've got a sub-stack.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_01]: You can subscribe to it.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_01]: It's really great stuff.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_01]: They do.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_01]: Their focus is the film.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_01]: What does the tape say?
- 5:04[SPEAKER_01]: So they're talking to us and we're asking them, obviously, the quarterback questions.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_01]: How should or look, how's the Sean look, Dylan all this stuff?
- 5:11[SPEAKER_01]: And they said the same thing that we've been told by other people, and what we actually saw that day.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_01]: Shador Sanders has been the better quarterback of the three and he's easily been the most consistent.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_01]: From practice to practice, he's been the most consistent.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_01]: And I believe that based on what I saw with my own eyes.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_01]: And I believe that because that's what Jake and Brad told us as well.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_01]: And they've been there every day evaluating this whole situation.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_01]: So they said, now Deshawn Watson has had some days where he's looked better than others, and every day it practice, he's made some plays that look really nice, that are like, wow, that's a nice play, that's a nice throw.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_01]: But they both said wildly inconsistent.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_01]: Just like Zach Jackson's been saying from training camp, you know, Watson will make a throw that that just makes you say, wow, there it is.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_01]: Followed by a whole string of throws that go, what the was that?
- 6:10[SPEAKER_01]: And I can attest.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_01]: We saw that at training camp on Thursday.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_01]: Watson had a couple throws here in their manware.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_01]: It was just like, wow, that was a dart, like that's it.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_01]: That is that arm talent that obviously everybody always liked about to show on Watson the player.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_01]: And then you would see some throws right after that.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_01]: And I remember I look at Justin like, what was that, bro?
- 6:34[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_01]: There was one throw in particular.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_01]: It was in a one-on-one session.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't even know who he was throwing to.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_01]: The receiver ran a route toward the sideline.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_01]: And he threw the ball so far behind.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_01]: It went behind the receiver and the DB.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_01]: Like both guys turned and looked back like, what?
- 6:55[SPEAKER_01]: rough stuff.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_01]: Really rough stuff.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_01]: Um, so that's, that's the breakdown.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_01]: They're Dylan Gabriel.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_01]: I, I don't know where the whole Dylan Gabriel narrative came from earlier in camp.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_01]: He looks terrible.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm not, you guys, obviously, if you follow the show, you watch and listen, you know, I'm like, we're not big Dylan Gabriel fans here.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_01]: We're not ever saying like, he's got a chance to be the guy.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_01]: No, he, he doesn't.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_01]: And watching him at camp, he doesn't.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_01]: First of all, he's, I know they got them listed like five 11 or something.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, he's small.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, and I'm not, I'm not saying any of this to be me.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_01]: And I want you to, he guys to hear what I hear me out here.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_01]: He's just, he's very, very small.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_01]: And like, do you ever do ever to throw football around with your kid or ever see like a little kid try throw football that's just too big for you know and they they have to like kind of balance it on the hand that's like really put everything into it to get it to go where they they're trying to throw to that's what it's like watching Dylan Gabriel and NFL field.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not kidding.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_01]: It looks like a struggle.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_01]: it really does.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_01]: So, I just, I don't know guys.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_01]: And if it's pre-snap processing, you know, lining up with line of scrimmage, calling out protections, whatever, like if he's really good at that, that's great.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_01]: But I am way more concerned with what a quarterback does after the snap than I am before the snap because you can do everything right before the snap.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_01]: That's wonderful.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_01]: If you can't do anything after the snap, who cares?
- 8:30[SPEAKER_01]: None of that matters.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_01]: If you can't throw the ball, if you can't make the play, if you can't read the defense, any of that stuff.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_01]: nothing before the snap matters.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_01]: So all this cadence talk, all this pre-snap, procedural stuff.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, it's important.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not sitting here telling you it's not important.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_01]: But Tony Grossies telling you, and everybody who will listen to him, which probably isn't very many people anymore, that that is the only thing that matters.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm telling you, it is not the only thing that matters.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_01]: What you do after the snap matters more than what you do before the snap.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_01]: it just does.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_01]: If you can't play the game of football, when the clock is ticking, who cares?
- 9:09[SPEAKER_01]: Who cares?
- 9:10[SPEAKER_01]: Anyhow.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_01]: So that was kind of the quarterback take away from camp.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_01]: But the reason I wanted to start on Thursday with this whole assessment is because Thursday was the first day.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_01]: And we were excited.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_01]: We were like, hey, after a Wednesday practice, where the team was just in helmets and shells, no pads, no hitting or anything like that,
- 9:32[SPEAKER_01]: was back to pads, and it was going to be Shador Sanders day with the first team.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_01]: So me and Justin, obviously, were like, this is going to be great.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go up here.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_01]: Let's see how this looks.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_01]: And then there was a session of 7 on 7's where Deshawn Watson was with the first team offense.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_01]: For the entire session, it wasn't like he took five reps and then Shador came in and took five reps and then went to the second team.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_01]: It was the whole set that entire drill was Deshawn Watson with the first team.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_01]: And then it was Dylan Gabriel with the twos.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, you know, we're not a camp every day watching these things on a play by play basis.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_01]: Let's ask Jake and Brad.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_01]: What do you guys, is this this normal?
- 10:13[SPEAKER_01]: They do this yesterday or the day before.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_01]: Now Jake was like, no, this is he said this is noteworthy.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_01]: He's just sitting there like, hmm, they haven't done this before.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_01]: This is weird.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_01]: So on a day because because leaving up to this point,
- 10:29[SPEAKER_01]: Every day that whichever quarterback was scheduled to be with the first team, they took all the first team reps, all seven on sevens, all 11 on 11, they were the first team quarterback.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_01]: Thursday was the first time that didn't happen.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_01]: Now, there was a, I think Todd Munkin made a comment, maybe the next day or something about that, he was asked about it.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_01]: And he said there was a session earlier in the week where Deshawn was the first team quarterback, but Shouldor took first team reps into 7-7-7-7-0-0 or something to that nature.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_01]: Like, no, this isn't the first time we've done that we did earlier in the week.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_01]: Jake and Brad said that's not true.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_01]: They said that Thursday was the first time that happened.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_01]: So now it's like, okay, was, did you guys just miss something while you were up here watching these practices?
- 11:13[SPEAKER_01]: Or is Todd Munkin wine?
- 11:15[SPEAKER_01]: Or just not being totally truthful about this?
- 11:18[SPEAKER_01]: And again, I'm not saying, please guys, don't jump on me in the comments.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not sitting here disparaging Todd Munkin in this episode or trying to say anything.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just giving you guys a brief recap of what's gone on this week.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_01]: So,
- 11:33[SPEAKER_01]: The reason it's like, well, it's Todd Monk and not being truthful is because of what happened yesterday.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_01]: So we get to Saturday, right?
- 11:40[SPEAKER_01]: So Friday campus close to the public storms in Burya, they move, you know, so nobody's allowed to go except for the media and their indoors and Friday was strictly air so it seemed deep passing work.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_01]: So it was just deep throws down the field down the field.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_01]: Um, Saturday.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_01]: And that was Friday with Deshawn Watson's day with the first team.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_01]: I guess as well, I was trying to say they're Saturday.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, Shador's day, you know, following the quarterback rotation here, and before practice, Todd Monkins asked by the media, you know, if something about Shador taking the first team reps today, and he said, you know, he said, Deshawn Watson might get a series or a few reps with the first team in a seven on seven, but today will be.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_01]: Shoulders day with the first team like he's the first team QB1 today.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_01]: That's what we expected.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_01]: Then the camp reports start flowing.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_01]: Sean Watson taken all the first team reps here.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_01]: And then as the day goes on.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_01]: Shoulder Sanders hasn't taken any first team reps yet.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_01]: It's supposed to be his day.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_01]: It's supposed to be his day.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_01]: Shoulder Sanders is splitting second team reps with Dylan Gabriel.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_01]: And we're all going on here.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_01]: Very strange.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_01]: So very strange day.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_01]: So I was supposed to be Shador Sanders day with the first team yesterday on Saturday.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_01]: And instead, to Sean Watson took every single rep with the first team.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_01]: And another weird thing, like I just mentioned, all camp to this point.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_01]: If you were the first team quarterback, you took all the first team quarterback reps. And if it was your day with the second team, you took all the second team reps.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yesterday was the first time.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_01]: The second team quarterback who apparently was Shador, even though it shouldn't have been, he ended up splitting those second team reps with Dylan Gabriel.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_01]: weird, just weird.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_01]: And then of course, it's the last day of camp for the week.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_01]: Today, Sunday, they're off.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_01]: We don't get to talk to or ask Todd Munkin any questions until Monday.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_01]: How convenient, right?
- 13:47[SPEAKER_01]: So all this stuff happens.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_01]: A team spokesperson then apparently issues a statement to the media after practice.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_01]: guys, help me out in my comments here and maybe I'm just too focused on what's happening right now and I'm just not remembering years past.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_01]: Have we ever had to have a Brown's team spokesperson issue and official statement about something from a training camp practice?
- 14:15[SPEAKER_01]: I just I was like, we're getting statements from a team spokesperson right now about.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_01]: This is weird.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_01]: So to me, it just felt really bizarre.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_01]: And the statement said that Todd Munkin wanted to see the shore or the shore.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_01]: Wow, there I go.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_01]: Boy, what a celebrity, a couple of name there.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_01]: Deschore, Deschon Watson.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_01]: He, Munkin wanted to see Deschon Watson with different personnel groupings, which is why he ended up taking all the first team reps instead of
- 14:49[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, and I read that and I thought about it for a minute, I'm like, okay, well, you know, they're just trying to at least they're they're explaining what we saw today.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_01]: No big deal.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe maybe not.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_01]: I want to say makes no sense to me.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_01]: If if you were, if you wanted to see the Sean Watson with different personnel groupings, receivers, O line, what have you?
- 15:15[SPEAKER_01]: What do you think Todd Munkin would have been planning that going into practice?
- 15:18[SPEAKER_01]: You only get 16, okay?
- 15:21[SPEAKER_01]: 16 padded practices in training camp.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_01]: That's it.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_01]: 16 days you're allowed to practice in pads with contact before the NFL season starts.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_01]: That's not a lot, guys, okay?
- 15:32[SPEAKER_01]: Anybody, we played football back in the day.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_01]: You remember two days, like in high school and stuff like that?
- 15:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, how many, we did like two or three weeks of two
- 15:45[SPEAKER_01]: 20 padded practices right there.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_01]: So these guys are only allowed to do 60, guys like how I had to stop on my mental mat there.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, man, it's early.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_01]: Anyhow, so 16 padded practices.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_01]: And you really think that Todd Monk and went into one of those without a plan.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_01]: No, I, I don't buy that for a second.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_01]: So, and, and the different personal groupings, he's seen to Sean Watson with all these personal groupings.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_01]: The only difference yesterday is Kevin Jenkins finally came back to practice.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_01]: We'll get to the offensive line here in a little bit.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_01]: He's worked with all these receivers in different rotations before on the second team on the first team.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_01]: He's worked with this offensive line before.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_01]: Whether it was back in OTAs or now in training camp like, I, I,
- 16:32[SPEAKER_01]: To me, that didn't seem like a legitimate reason to give him a 100% of the first team breath.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_01]: So if you give him a couple of series or even just split them down the middle, maybe it's a little more likely to be the truth.
- 16:46[SPEAKER_01]: And just not sure that's it.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, that was the official statement.
- 16:52[SPEAKER_01]: And then we get all obviously all the speculation and I put out short video last night and I'm thinking, okay,
- 16:59[SPEAKER_01]: This would have been Shador Sanders' third-padded practice this week.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_01]: Dishon Watson only had one-padded practice as the first team quarterback.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_01]: This whole week, the other two days that Watson was the first team quarterback, they weren't wearing pads.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_01]: You guys can read into that however you want.
- 17:17[SPEAKER_01]: So it's like, oh, maybe they're just trying to even it up, give Shador two days with the ones and Dishon two days with the ones.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_01]: or saw some speculation.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe she'd do her had a little bit of arm soreness or maybe he was just injured or something.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe they were just trying to reduce his reps, manage his workload until next week, just getting through the weekend here.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_01]: Plausible, we had a situation last year in camp where he had arm soreness, right?
- 17:41[SPEAKER_01]: Or something like that where he took some time off from camp.
- 17:47[SPEAKER_01]: But if that were the case, you would have thought the official statement where to said that.
- 17:52[SPEAKER_01]: and then the QB tracker comes out.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_01]: Shoulder Sanders took 20 reps yesterday, so it's not an injury thing.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, if it's workload management, doesn't matter if you're taking reps with the ones, two, three reps are reps on your shoulder, so if it were anything injury-related or fatigue, he wouldn't have taken 20 reps yesterday.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_01]: very strange.
- 18:14[SPEAKER_01]: And then today, so we get to today.
- 18:17[SPEAKER_01]: This is where the big bombshell comes.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_01]: Mary K. Cabot, of course, you can leave it to her.
- 18:21[SPEAKER_01]: Show the show, produce these things, but wrote an article and a team source, or I don't, I'm assuming it's a team source, but
- 18:32[SPEAKER_01]: told her the following.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_01]: She wrote, quote, as it turns out, the Sean Watson knew right after the walkthrough at about noon that he was going with the ones on Saturday.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_01]: And that was 45 minutes before Todd Monk and told the media that Shidorah Sanders was still the day 10, QB1.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_01]: So while Todd Monk and his telling the media and us, that yesterday's told me it's Shidorah's day with the first team, we might see a little bit of the Sean mixed in there, but it's Shidorah's day.
- 19:06[SPEAKER_01]: As he's telling us that, to Sean Watson already knows that he's taking all the first team reps that day.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_01]: How does that happen?
- 19:15[SPEAKER_01]: You know, how does the the quarterback know that this is happening?
- 19:22[SPEAKER_01]: Monk and doesn't know or Monk and just didn't want to tell us.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not trying to go down conspiracy theory Avenue with you guys.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_01]: What I'm taking away from a lot of this is these are the type of things that give the Cleveland Browns a reputation of being a dysfunctional organization.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_01]: This miscommunication, these conflicting reports, this is a coach not nobody's doing, as a coach lying to us, as somebody else making the decision, did, Jimmy has them make the call.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_01]: Now you get all this crap that we all have to speculate about.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_01]: And honestly, I can't just automatically say, you know, this one's off the table.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_01]: We've seen stuff like this before.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_01]: We've seen ownership and metal in coaching decisions.
- 20:08[SPEAKER_01]: We've seen GMs override the coach and make a decision here and there about, you know, especially this quarterback position over the years.
- 20:17[SPEAKER_01]: So it's not like it hasn't happened before.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_01]: So I guess that's another thing I want to reiterate here that I know we have a lot of long time listeners to the show.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_01]: I love you guys.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_01]: We have a lot of long time, die hard, life long, browns fans watching this right now.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_01]: I love you guys.
- 20:35[SPEAKER_01]: We have a lot of brand new browns fans.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_01]: Whether you're new to the fanbase, for sure, door or you're new to the fanbase for any other reason.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_01]: We love you guys.
- 20:44[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome to the fanbase.
- 20:46[SPEAKER_01]: But if you're new to the fan base, you do not have the historical trauma that the rest of us do of what has gone on with this team over decades, okay?
- 20:57[SPEAKER_01]: So I just, there's, there's history there.
- 20:59[SPEAKER_01]: I, I'm not going to go through it right now, I'm going to say that for another episode.
- 21:03[SPEAKER_01]: That's going to be a long one too.
- 21:05[SPEAKER_01]: But there is history of this type of stuff happening with the Cleveland Brown test.
- 21:09[SPEAKER_01]: Why it makes it so noteworthy and so freaking weird about everything that's going on.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_01]: Now tomorrow's Monday will get Todd Munkin at the podium.
- 21:17[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to be asked about this.
- 21:21[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see what he says.
- 21:24[SPEAKER_01]: This episode is sponsored by Kaoshi.
- 21:27[SPEAKER_01]: All right, Browns Vand, you know, we've all messed around with the sports books before, right?
- 21:30[SPEAKER_01]: And let's be honest, you're always kind of playing against the house.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_01]: But with Kaoshi, it's different.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_01]: You're not betting against some sports book.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_01]: You're trading against other real world people.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_01]: There's no house trying to beat you Kaoshi just runs the marketplace.
- 21:44[SPEAKER_01]: So if you think the public is wrong and the Browns can make the playoffs in Todd Munkins first year, or Casey Concepcion, Denzel Boston, one of those guys can win offensive rookie of the year.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_01]: You can take the other side of the market and then if you're right, that's a big payout for you.
- 21:58[SPEAKER_01]: And it's not just sports either.
- 21:59[SPEAKER_01]: You can trade on other real-world stuff, interest rates, inflation, even wild weather outcomes.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_01]: It works like this.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_01]: Simple yes or no markets, your risk is capped up front and your payout is locked in.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_01]: So if you trust your takes and instincts and I know you guys do, go check out how she

- 23:05[SPEAKER_01]: I think they said he said before practice they're going to take the coaches are going to take all the rest of the weekend, you know, yesterday, today and tomorrow morning to decide who's going to be the QB1 for the first preseason game next Saturday in Chicago.
- 23:19[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm telling you guys right now that quarterback will be to Sean Watson, okay?
- 23:23[SPEAKER_01]: Nothing about what this team has done in the past week has indicated in any way shape or form that it's going to be should or
- 23:33[SPEAKER_01]: Actions overwards.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_01]: You said it was going to be should endorse Sanders day with the first team.
- 23:38[SPEAKER_01]: You gave every first team rep to Deshawn Watson to Sean Watson will be the quarterback starting against the bears in Chicago on Saturday.
- 23:47[SPEAKER_01]: Whether they make that announcement tomorrow on Monday or Tuesday or Wednesday or whenever the hell they do make it, that will be the announcement.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_01]: I think you're going to see Deshawn Watson take the bulk of first team reps all of this coming week and then we will see how things balance out after that is this a preseason week one decision or if they already made a pre-determined move that Deshawn Watson will be the QB1 week one in Jacksonville, which is just five weeks away by the way folks.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_01]: We don't have a whole lot of time left before the regular season is here and these live bullets are flying.
- 24:21[SPEAKER_01]: So that's how I see things right now.
- 24:24[SPEAKER_01]: I believe that's the direction they're going and like I was alluding to their first second.
- 24:28[SPEAKER_01]: what they do after the Chicago game is what's going to be interesting to me because you can already read the T-Leaves.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_01]: It's Deshawn Watson, preseason week one, and Chicago on the road.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_01]: Kind of makes sense.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think you want to roll him out there in your first preseason game at home.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_01]: You know what's going to happen.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_01]: So the order of things makes sense, but starting a week from tomorrow, the Monday following the Bears game, this should or Sanders take the bulk of first team reps.
- 24:58[SPEAKER_01]: to start the game at home against the bills, or will it still be to Sean Watson primarily taking those first team reps.
- 25:05[SPEAKER_01]: If that's the case, then you're getting your indication that he's slated to be the week one starter.
- 25:11[SPEAKER_01]: So you can kind of tell, don't worry about what Todd Munkner, any of the other coaches, Mike Pajachian, don't worry about what these guys say to the media.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_01]: Watch what they do at practice, watch the moves they make and watch the division of reps and how they're preparing guys in practice.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_01]: That's what we need to pay attention to in the following weeks.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_01]: So let me know what you guys think about this whole quarterback situation.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_01]: It's not surprising that there's quarterback drama in Cleveland.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_01]: There are always, it's disappointing because I speak.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_01]: I do speak for everybody on this podcast.
- 25:53[SPEAKER_01]: We're all in lockstep about the quarterback situation.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_01]: It makes zero sense to play to Sean Watson this year.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_01]: No sense whatsoever, just even if Shidorah Sanders wasn't on the team.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_01]: OK, I need people to understand this.
- 26:06[SPEAKER_01]: Even if Shidorah wasn't here.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_01]: The last time we saw to Sean Watson play football, he was awful.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, and you can sit there and say, well, should or was bad last year, blah, blah, blah.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_01]: There is a major difference between a rookie playing on the worst offense I've ever watched.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_01]: And a, I guess, of the time seven year veteran former three-time pro-border getting pay 230 million dollars to play quarterback for this team.
- 26:37[SPEAKER_01]: There is a difference between those two situations.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_01]: The $230 million quarterback should not suck.
- 26:45[SPEAKER_01]: Should not suck, but he did, and he does.
- 26:47[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't,
- 26:50[SPEAKER_01]: I just, there's, there's, there's not one fiber in my being that believes he can be a good quarterback in the NFL anymore.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe he perves me wrong.
- 27:01[SPEAKER_01]: That's fine.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_01]: If he does, I'll sit here and give him credit.
- 27:05[SPEAKER_01]: If it happens, just not planning on it.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_01]: But you guys let me know what you think.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_01]: Just, I really feel like the Browns are making a mistake here.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_01]: I said this to Justin the other day and he totally agreed.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_01]: I said, you know, we, at the time we liked the move to go get a proble top five quarter back in the league.
- 27:26[SPEAKER_01]: That's what that's what Dishon Watson was at the time when we made that trade early.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_01]: So that's what he was perceived to be that guy was already gone, but we didn't know that.
- 27:38[SPEAKER_01]: But you, you ruined your relationship and potential with Baker Mayfield.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_01]: So a potential franchise quarterback, you know, we can have that debate if he would have turned into one or not.
- 27:50[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not here for that today.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just saying, you ruined that one for Deshawn Watson.
- 27:58[SPEAKER_01]: And now you're going to ruin another potential answer at the position with Shador Sanders for Deshawn Watson.
- 28:06[SPEAKER_01]: So you're gonna use Deshawn Watson to ruin whatever chance you might have with two other quarterbacks.
- 28:15[SPEAKER_01]: whatever.
- 28:16[SPEAKER_01]: You guys let me know what you think.
- 28:17[SPEAKER_01]: I know there's people out there that's still believing to Sean or still like him.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if that's because you actually think he's good or because you just really don't like Sidor.
- 28:26[SPEAKER_01]: It's tough to say.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_01]: There's some people that it's definitely the latter.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_01]: You just hate Sidor and that's why you're all about the Sean.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_01]: But I think a lot of us who were around in 2024 and 23 and 22.
- 28:40[SPEAKER_01]: We just, we know how this is gonna go.
- 28:42[SPEAKER_01]: If they make Watson the, the week one starter.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm done with my doom and gloom.
- 28:47[SPEAKER_01]: I don't wanna talk about the quarterback situation anymore.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_01]: That's the update and we will fill you guys in as the week goes on.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_01]: But as it stands, just to recap, pretty sure.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_01]: I think you could probably, probably place your bets now.
- 29:00[SPEAKER_01]: The Sean Watson will be starting next Saturday, in Chicago against the Bears.
- 29:08[SPEAKER_01]: I would venture to guess that he'll be the weak one starter as well in Jacksonville, but we'll see how it goes.
- 29:14[SPEAKER_01]: Moving on, got a lot of other camp notes, and I want to talk about other players, obviously, on this team.
- 29:18[SPEAKER_01]: So let's just move position to position, running back, okay?
- 29:23[SPEAKER_01]: Quinshawn Juggkins looks great.
- 29:26[SPEAKER_01]: I, you guys know, back in the off season, I was very skeptical that that Juggkins would be
- 29:36[SPEAKER_01]: I was skeptical, he was even going to be like a full participant, full participant in training camp, maybe for the first couple of weeks.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_01]: I figured maybe right about now mid-August, maybe about that second preseason game.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_01]: He might be cleared for full participation after that injury last year.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_01]: The dude was a full participant all OTAs.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_01]: So no restrictions, no limitations here in training camp.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_01]: looks amazing.
- 30:01[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_01]: Now I watched him with my own eyes up there on the, I mean, the clips are great.
- 30:05[SPEAKER_01]: You can see it from the clips, but watching them, he's a dude's fast and seeing him down on the field up close.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
- 30:13[SPEAKER_01]: The dude is rocked up, man, this guy is massive.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_01]: Quint Shun, Judkins, he's kind of, it's kind of like if you took Derek, you're not just big and just, monstrous Derek Henry is, right?
- 30:30[SPEAKER_01]: So take that and shrink it down a little bit because no one's that big as Derek Henry, but shrink it down a little bit to, you know, your prototypical running back size.
- 30:40[SPEAKER_01]: But then add the speed,
- 30:42[SPEAKER_01]: and the shiftiness, that is I don't want to say like B. John Robinson levels, but maybe in that school of ability, Quint John looks great.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_01]: So I hope I'm not hype in him up too much, but I was impressed with him as rookie, despite the poor offensive line, no blocking.
- 31:07[SPEAKER_01]: If we can get offensive line plan again, I will get to the line here in a minute.
- 31:12[SPEAKER_01]: Quinshawn could have a huge year.
- 31:13[SPEAKER_01]: He looks good.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_01]: So for everybody asking, how about Quinshawn?
- 31:16[SPEAKER_01]: How's the running backs look?
- 31:17[SPEAKER_01]: Quinshawn Jenkins looks phenomenal.
- 31:19[SPEAKER_01]: Dylan Samson, two, another, just speedster, fast man.
- 31:25[SPEAKER_01]: Both of these guys, I think they're going to both be utilized in the passing game.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_01]: You've seen it at practice.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_01]: They're both catching passes.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_01]: They're both not just screens or check downs, but also running routes out of the backfield
- 31:42[SPEAKER_01]: Catching the ball well, I think it's going to be a lot better utilization than what we saw Understefansky last year.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_01]: I think Todd Munkin and this offensive staff actually have an idea of how to kit Dylan Stampson involved and use him to the full of his potential.
- 32:00[SPEAKER_01]: I'm excited for that after those two guys
- 32:06[SPEAKER_01]: a money marshal looks to be to me in my assessment from what I've read from what I've seen in camp clips and what I saw actually when I was there.
- 32:15[SPEAKER_01]: I think a money marshal might have a leg up right now for the RB3 over rocket standards.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_01]: And my confident in that, no.
- 32:25[SPEAKER_01]: I think both guys have looked good.
- 32:28[SPEAKER_01]: Both guys have been utilized up and down, whether it's with the third team offence, second, and they've gotten run with the ones too.
- 32:35[SPEAKER_01]: Both guys, Marshall and Rocket Sanders.
- 32:37[SPEAKER_01]: So, and they both look good.
- 32:41[SPEAKER_01]: I've seen some plays where Rocket has dropped some passes.
- 32:47[SPEAKER_01]: not like contested stuff like stuff that hits him in the hands and then he just doesn't bring it in.
- 32:52[SPEAKER_01]: Like in the hands of the chest not outstretched like you need to catch that pass.
- 32:59[SPEAKER_01]: I I don't know.
- 33:00[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like a money marshal might be that guy.
- 33:02[SPEAKER_01]: He might be the RB3 for this year.
- 33:06[SPEAKER_01]: The full back situation is interesting because the browns and we signed a full back specifically to play the position Michael Burton this offseason
- 33:16[SPEAKER_01]: And he's been out, at least this whole week, I can't remember if he was out all of last week.
- 33:21[SPEAKER_01]: But so for the second week of training camp here, we have not had Michael Burton the full back.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_01]: Instead Carson Ryan, the seventh round tight end, we drafted has been playing full back.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't look half bad back there either.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_01]: I think that he is a tough nose, willing blocker, he loves the contact, and he's good at catching passes as well.
- 33:42[SPEAKER_01]: Carson Ryan might be on this 53 man roster.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_01]: You know, listed as a tight end, but probably primarily playing full back.
- 33:50[SPEAKER_01]: So that's an interesting one to keep an eye on as well.
- 33:52[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see maybe Michael Burton comes back from his injury or whatever he's dealing with this coming week, we'll see.
- 33:59[SPEAKER_01]: And as I go through this, obviously, I got a lot of injury things to talk about, but I don't have specifics because this team, nobody in training camp is required to disclose injuries to you.
- 34:09[SPEAKER_01]: All we know is that said player was not on the field.
- 34:13[SPEAKER_01]: So injuries are more assumed like what we assume this guy has an injury because he's not out here Like you got a tight end like Joe Royer.
- 34:24[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I guess we can just talk about tight-end real quick Well, we'll just go right into that Joe Royer fifth round pick out a Cincinnati
- 34:31[SPEAKER_01]: dude hasn't been to camp yet.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_01]: He's dealing with a personal situation.
- 34:35[SPEAKER_01]: If you guys have any information on that, let me know in the comments just in thought he had heard some, I don't want to call him reports or more like rumors or some speculation.
- 34:46[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe about what Joe Royer's dealing with right now.
- 34:49[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to talk about it because I haven't dive into it myself.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to give you guys misleading information on that.
- 34:55[SPEAKER_01]: But let me know.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_01]: What you guys think is going on with Joe Royer, the fact that the big thing here is to know he's not there.
- 35:03[SPEAKER_01]: He's not practicing, he's not at camp, we don't know when he's coming back.
- 35:07[SPEAKER_01]: This doesn't look good for Joe Royer.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_01]: Now it doesn't mean he's going to get cut.
- 35:11[SPEAKER_01]: I do believe and correct me if I'm wrong.
- 35:13[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't look this up either and I should.
- 35:16[SPEAKER_01]: I think there's a situation.
- 35:18[SPEAKER_01]: Where if a player does not report to camp, there's a specific like did not report list that the team can put him on rather than like just outright cutting him.
- 35:27[SPEAKER_01]: He's still his contract would still be property of the Browns I think in that situation the player might actually have to apply for re-instatement and get approved by the league then before they can come back to practice But I don't know I have no idea what's going on Joe Royer
- 35:44[SPEAKER_01]: We're keeping tabs on that.
- 35:46[SPEAKER_01]: Let you guys know if he gets back to practice.
- 35:49[SPEAKER_01]: Harold Fanon Jr., I don't need to talk too much about him, it looks freaking awesome.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_01]: He is going to be this trio.
- 35:57[SPEAKER_01]: This young trio.
- 35:59[SPEAKER_01]: Actually, I don't even want to say trio, it's a quad.
- 36:02[SPEAKER_01]: This quad core of Harold Fanon Jr. Casey concepts you own Denzel Boston and Isaiah Bond.
- 36:10[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 36:14[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to like, I don't want to over-hype because we haven't seen them in real games and we know how things go for the Browns historically and sometimes we get a little ahead of ourselves on some players.
- 36:25[SPEAKER_01]: That group of four young players right there could be a very, very legit group of guys in the NFL over the next few years.
- 36:35[SPEAKER_01]: I'm excited about that group.
- 36:37[SPEAKER_01]: Harold Fanon catches everything.
- 36:39[SPEAKER_01]: He's always open.
- 36:40[SPEAKER_01]: He's always making plays every day.
- 36:42[SPEAKER_01]: We know that he's just a man among boys on the field.
- 36:47[SPEAKER_01]: And if you need five yards to the sticks, throw two yards to Fanon, he's going to get you seven.
- 36:55[SPEAKER_01]: That's just what he does.
- 36:56[SPEAKER_01]: So the tight end position, and then you guys like Jack Stoll, Blake Whiteheart, who I haven't heard anything about Blake Whiteheart at practice so far through two weeks.
- 37:10[SPEAKER_01]: I don't even know if I saw him out there.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I know he's been there because he's not listed on any missing reports, but.
- 37:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I can't tell you guys much about Blake Whiteheart.
- 37:21[SPEAKER_01]: I know Jack Stahl's been out there, he's okay.
- 37:25[SPEAKER_01]: He's a blocking specific tight end.
- 37:27[SPEAKER_01]: He's not been very good, obviously, in passing plays, which was to be expected.
- 37:33[SPEAKER_01]: And then, are there any other tight ends?
- 37:34[SPEAKER_01]: I'm missing.
- 37:36[SPEAKER_01]: Tight end is a position on offense, I think we could run into some trouble.
- 37:41[SPEAKER_01]: because like we'll we've talked about a ton.
- 37:44[SPEAKER_01]: Harold Phoenix Jr. is not your prototypical traditional inline blocking tight end.
- 37:50[SPEAKER_01]: He is a all around offensive weapon.
- 37:53[SPEAKER_01]: Put him in the slot, put him out wide, your X, Y, Z. I don't carry, put him anywhere you want to.
- 37:57[SPEAKER_01]: You can put him in line, but he's not a great blocker.
- 37:59[SPEAKER_01]: You can put him in the back field.
- 38:00[SPEAKER_01]: You can whatever you want to do, you can do.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_01]: But we still need that more traditional tight, especially if we're going to run a lot of 12 or 13
- 38:12[SPEAKER_01]: who else is playing tight end.
- 38:13[SPEAKER_01]: And we talked about Carson Ryan.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_01]: I'm starting to get the feeling that he is going to make the roster.
- 38:18[SPEAKER_01]: And that is largely due to, like, overtaking, not practicing, and Joe Royer not being here.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_01]: I had Joe Royer pegged as the tight end too for this team.
- 38:27[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know now because he's not here.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_01]: It's really worrisome.
- 38:30[SPEAKER_01]: So Katie Max has been kind of pound on the table for this and I think he might be absolutely spot on.
- 38:34[SPEAKER_01]: They're gonna need to bring in somebody, a free agent or make a trade or something for a tight end because we're kind of limited there right now.
- 38:48[SPEAKER_01]: um... a position i'm not concerned about what's so ever right now wide receiver and it feels so good to be able to say that after the last couple years going especially last year's sand you know we're in injury away from or you got about an injury away from jemari thrash being our wide receiver one that was disgusting to think about a year ago from right now jemari thrash by the way no longer with the team
- 39:10[SPEAKER_01]: Well, okay, technically he is with the team.
- 39:12[SPEAKER_01]: They wave Tim earlier this week with an injury designation.
- 39:16[SPEAKER_01]: He left practice earlier in the week with a knee injury.
- 39:19[SPEAKER_01]: Now he has been, I forget how this even works, but he's been brought back onto the Browns injured.
- 39:27[SPEAKER_01]: list.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_01]: So he's he's going to be out for the whole season, but they must still be retaining the rights to his contract, which isn't it the final year of his deal.
- 39:35[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe this is your three.
- 39:36[SPEAKER_01]: I don't even care because he's not that good.
- 39:38[SPEAKER_01]: And he wasn't going to make the team anyway.
- 39:39[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think maybe practice squad again my last year.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_01]: But so he's out for the year.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_01]: We don't need to worry about your mark thrash.
- 39:47[SPEAKER_01]: Casey can steps the own.
- 39:50[SPEAKER_01]: This dude is making.
- 39:53[SPEAKER_01]: acrobatic outstanding highlight catches every single day of camp.
- 39:58[SPEAKER_01]: Stuff that you would not think that he should be able to catch.
- 40:04[SPEAKER_01]: Just climbing the ladder.
- 40:06[SPEAKER_01]: It's high as he can go, bring it down catches.
- 40:10[SPEAKER_01]: They're getting him the ball on quick slants, crossers, end-around's, he looks so freaking good.
- 40:19[SPEAKER_01]: I want you guys to understand, I know.
- 40:21[SPEAKER_01]: And I'll talk about tensile boss in a minute.
- 40:23[SPEAKER_01]: Denzel bossing gets the majority of the highlight clips from camp because he's just that big physical dude and he mosses people and he is awesome in his own right.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_01]: Don't get me wrong here.
- 40:34[SPEAKER_01]: love Denzel Boston.
- 40:36[SPEAKER_01]: Casey.
- 40:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, man.
- 40:38[SPEAKER_01]: He's it.
- 40:39[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's that guy.
- 40:41[SPEAKER_01]: I do.
- 40:42[SPEAKER_01]: I thought he was that guy in the Prudraff process and I still think he's that guy after watching him at camp and everything he's been able to do.
- 40:48[SPEAKER_01]: The whole drop past situation and that concern from college has not.
- 40:54[SPEAKER_01]: I want you guys to hear me.
- 40:56[SPEAKER_01]: the drops issue has not followed him into training camp.
- 41:01[SPEAKER_01]: He has caught everything.
- 41:04[SPEAKER_01]: Low passes, high passes passes in his bread basket.
- 41:07[SPEAKER_01]: He's catching everything.
- 41:09[SPEAKER_01]: So as Denzel Boston, I think Boston has had one or two drops all of camp.
- 41:17[SPEAKER_01]: He catches everything and he's that big body guy that can just pluck the ball out of the air.
- 41:23[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to beat your DB one on one.
- 41:27[SPEAKER_01]: that the complimentary skill set of those two players is going to benefit this team so much.
- 41:33[SPEAKER_01]: For years of the common, I'm excited about Boston and KC.
- 41:36[SPEAKER_01]: Dropping passes, yep, that is continued for Jerry Judy.
- 41:40[SPEAKER_01]: Tons of drop passes, all camp, all camp.
- 41:44[SPEAKER_01]: every day.
- 41:45[SPEAKER_01]: I think he had two really nice practices back to back on Thursday and Friday this past week.
- 41:50[SPEAKER_01]: But before that, there were days where, you know, I'm reading posts from Zack Jackson, Darryl Reuter, and they're like, man, there's another drop for Judy.
- 41:57[SPEAKER_01]: Judy couldn't hold that one in.
- 41:58[SPEAKER_01]: Another drop, another drop.
- 42:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yesterday, Saturday, more drops for Judy.
- 42:02[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I saw a clip, a cam white, shout out cam white, rock universe nine.
- 42:08[SPEAKER_01]: Just it was a touchdown pass Watson threw right to Judy right right in his hands.
- 42:13[SPEAKER_01]: He's running the quick out the speed out to the sideline and he turns the ball goes right through his hands just just drops it and it's like
- 42:22[SPEAKER_01]: I'm done, man, I'm so dumb a jury, Judy, but it thankfully we have not just Casey Concepts, you know, and Den's a boss and got as they a bond to and he's been a highlight real account.
- 42:35[SPEAKER_01]: The deep.
- 42:36[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, and the thing is I know he's been working on doing everything else, the short area, the intermediate area, and all that, but man, with this guy can do deep down the field along the sideline, bringing in deep.
- 42:47[SPEAKER_01]: Isaiah Bond is awesome too.
- 42:48[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm very excited about our wider receiver core right now if I had to give you guys my prediction on how the wider receiver room shapes out for the 53 man roster here in a couple weeks when it's all said and done to start the season.
- 43:01[SPEAKER_01]: Those four guys obviously will be on your roster.
- 43:03[SPEAKER_01]: Till and Wallace is your fifth guy.
- 43:05[SPEAKER_01]: Till and Wallace will be on the Brown's 53 man roster.
- 43:09[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's pretty much a lock.
- 43:11[SPEAKER_01]: because he's running with the ones.
- 43:13[SPEAKER_01]: We all know what he can do in the specialty area, but he has been running with the first team, the veteran ridership.
- 43:18[SPEAKER_01]: He's been making plays out there too.
- 43:19[SPEAKER_01]: It's not like he's just there because of seniority, like he's actually making plays.
- 43:23[SPEAKER_01]: So I think Todd Monk and trust him and you want a little bit more.
- 43:27[SPEAKER_01]: You don't want your entire wide receiver room to be first and second.
- 43:29[SPEAKER_01]: Your guys, you need a little veteran presence there as well.
- 43:32[SPEAKER_01]: And I think they really like what Tillon Wallace brings both on and off the field.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_01]: So he's a lock.
- 43:37[SPEAKER_01]: If I had a bet right now, I would say the six, if they only keep six, the sixth guy is going to be gauge larvadan.
- 43:45[SPEAKER_01]: He is running with the ones.
- 43:47[SPEAKER_01]: The ones they end to, but a lot of time with the ones, he's been making plays, he's had some drops, he's had some plays that, you know, it's like, okay, you need to complete that.
- 43:55[SPEAKER_01]: But again, we're talking fifth or sixth receiver on the depth chart.
- 43:59[SPEAKER_01]: So I think it's gauge larvadan because of what he can offer you in the return game as well on special teams, and obviously as a receiver.
- 44:06[SPEAKER_01]: Luke Floria, the Kent State guy, you remember last training camp preseason, Luke Floria was on fire, Luke Floria was lightening it up, he had that sick one hand to grab against the Panthers from Shidorah down the sideline, just awesome, awesome little player.
- 44:19[SPEAKER_01]: And I say little because he is a smaller receiver, but he is freaking tough guys.
- 44:24[SPEAKER_01]: He picked up right where he left off.
- 44:26[SPEAKER_01]: Remember he had the hamstring injury, kind of the same thing in Jamari thrash.
- 44:29[SPEAKER_01]: They put him onto that injured list or whatever, he was out for the whole year because of that.
- 44:34[SPEAKER_01]: but he's back and uh... back to tomorrow thrash the knee injury i read was not serious is just it was enough for them to wave him with a designation and then put him on that list loop floria he's in the conversation let's just put it that way because he's catching everything
- 44:50[SPEAKER_01]: Now he's not, you're, you're, you're, gave yourself everything you can get down feel a little better.
- 44:56[SPEAKER_01]: He's a little more of a deep threat all across the field.
- 44:59[SPEAKER_01]: Kind of player, but man, Luke Floria seems to be a little bit more reliable when it comes to catching the ball.
- 45:05[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll see how that shakes out.
- 45:06[SPEAKER_01]: As far as the other receivers go, I mean, Cole Wilson, I think he's probably a practice squad guy, Aaron Anderson got waved with an injury designation.
- 45:14[SPEAKER_01]: So he's gone, I'm trying to think of this.
- 45:17[SPEAKER_01]: Of course there's somebody else we need to talk about.
- 45:19[SPEAKER_01]: Said Rick Tillman.
- 45:20[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think said Rick Tillman's making the team.
- 45:22[SPEAKER_01]: Now he's he's your third string receiver right now.
- 45:26[SPEAKER_01]: He's running with the threes primarily.
- 45:30[SPEAKER_01]: The only time I saw him mixed in with the ones or the twos was either a seven on seven or like in the individual drills or they're just rotating reps and you just it's just kind of next man not you know you step up.
- 45:40[SPEAKER_01]: I don't even know who the receiver and the DVR that they just line up two guys and go run your route and you do your thing.
- 45:45[SPEAKER_01]: That's been it for Cedric Tillman.
- 45:47[SPEAKER_01]: You know, he was our scout team, special teams for the first period of practice on Thursday.
- 45:53[SPEAKER_01]: I, I looked at Justin, I said, I think he's cut, bro.
- 45:58[SPEAKER_01]: He's like dad, I think so.
- 46:00[SPEAKER_01]: So, I think we can probably forget about Tillman.
- 46:02[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe he makes a rush.
- 46:03[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe I'm totally dead wrong about that.
- 46:05[SPEAKER_01]: I just, again, actions over words.
- 46:08[SPEAKER_01]: The actions right now do not indicate that this team is any what interested.
- 46:12[SPEAKER_01]: and keep a set of tailmen around.
- 46:14[SPEAKER_01]: Offensive line, let's talk, let's spend some time there because then we'll just go over to the defense after that.

- 48:58[SPEAKER_01]: We are close.
- 49:01[SPEAKER_01]: Offensive line concerns me.
- 49:05[SPEAKER_01]: They concern me because I don't know what they're doing.
- 49:07[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, they don't seem to have a plan yet.
- 49:10[SPEAKER_01]: They don't seem to be any closer to a starting five than when they started camp two weeks in.
- 49:15[SPEAKER_01]: I was really hoping we'd have some more answers and we've got more questions now as seems then we do answers because.
- 49:22[SPEAKER_01]: Spencer Fano, your ninth overall pick, who we drafted to play left tackle, has been rotating daily with the Juan Jones with the first and second team back and forth, so it's either been to Juan Jones or it's been Spencer Fano, who is playing left tackle and then they're saying, well, Spencer Fano is not ready for the season at left tackle, then we know we can start the Juan Jones there, so his Spencer Fano not as far along as we were thinking he is.
- 49:43[SPEAKER_01]: Are they going to start the Juan?
- 49:45[SPEAKER_01]: That's another question, not an answer.
- 49:48[SPEAKER_01]: Zion Johnson flocked into your left guard.
- 49:50[SPEAKER_01]: Elkton Jenkins, who has kind of been slated to play center, missed all week until the last day and a half or whatever when he finally came back from injury.
- 49:59[SPEAKER_01]: So he hasn't been a practice.
- 50:00[SPEAKER_01]: Parker Brails, for it's not a practice.
- 50:02[SPEAKER_01]: He's not.
- 50:04[SPEAKER_01]: out there right now because he's got a wrist, brace, something happened to his right wrist.
- 50:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they said he was taking practice snaps on the sideline the other day with his left hand.
- 50:12[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what is going on at the center position, but that's a concern.
- 50:17[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, we think it's probably going to be Elton Jenkins, but the same time remember guys, he's coming off a season ending injury from last year as well.
- 50:24[SPEAKER_01]: So health is, it's an issue.
- 50:27[SPEAKER_01]: It's a big question mark and then you've got right guard.
- 50:30[SPEAKER_01]: What are we doing at right guard?
- 50:33[SPEAKER_01]: We don't have any idea.
- 50:34[SPEAKER_01]: Tevin Jenkins was kind of slated again to kind of be that right guard.
- 50:39[SPEAKER_01]: At least at the top, he was rotating each day, kind of like at the left tackle spot at right guard.
- 50:43[SPEAKER_01]: They're rotating Tevin Jenkins one day.
- 50:45[SPEAKER_01]: The next day would be KT Leviston.
- 50:47[SPEAKER_01]: Well, Tevin Jenkins missed the vast majority, I believe, of OTAs.
- 50:53[SPEAKER_01]: He had an injury, he wasn't out there.
- 50:55[SPEAKER_01]: We opened training camp last week.
- 50:56[SPEAKER_01]: So it's him and KT rotating day to day, boom, this week.
- 50:59[SPEAKER_01]: No, Tevin Jenkins, he's injured again.
- 51:01[SPEAKER_01]: He's off the field, not a practice.
- 51:02[SPEAKER_01]: And it's like, how can you possibly be competing for a starting spot if you're not on the practice field?
- 51:12[SPEAKER_01]: So Tevin Jenkins finally came back yesterday and he went immediately right into the right guard spot because they were already talking about KT Levist and at right guard and saying maybe we take tight as Howard from right tack when put him in the right guard moved to Juan Jones over to right tack when put Spencer Fano left tack with a mess they don't know what they're doing.
- 51:30[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm not saying it's that they don't, they don't, that's coachy staff doesn't know what they're doing.
- 51:35[SPEAKER_01]: I'm saying that the players are not claiming these spots, like we were hoping that is a concern.
- 51:43[SPEAKER_01]: Preseason's gonna tell the story.
- 51:45[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see how these guys look on the field.
- 51:47[SPEAKER_01]: but I know like Jake Burns was big on KT Leviston playing right guard because he's much more suited for that position than he is being at the tackle spot on the edge of the line and he's very good in the run game.
- 52:02[SPEAKER_01]: Now I'll tell you guys this because I've a lot of people that's well how's the run game look how's the run blocking look?
- 52:06[SPEAKER_01]: It's really hard to tell in camp.
- 52:08[SPEAKER_01]: It's really hard to tell.
- 52:11[SPEAKER_01]: one because from where we're sitting at practice on the sideline, you can't really see how they're getting out into space for the run game.
- 52:19[SPEAKER_01]: You can just see it from the side, so it's very hard to evaluate.
- 52:23[SPEAKER_01]: And two, a lot of times they're just not going full go.
- 52:27[SPEAKER_01]: So it's hard to tell what did the running batches get stopped behind the line or was that actually a five-year gain?
- 52:33[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I don't know, it's tough.
- 52:35[SPEAKER_01]: Guys, it's really tough to tell.
- 52:37[SPEAKER_01]: I will say this.
- 52:39[SPEAKER_01]: I noticed on Thursday that KT11 Sten was not looking very good in past protection.
- 52:45[SPEAKER_01]: I saw him get beat quite a few times.
- 52:49[SPEAKER_01]: You know, we had interior defense of Lyman, which by the way, we don't have any right now.
- 52:54[SPEAKER_01]: We'll get to that.
- 52:56[SPEAKER_01]: But the guys who were on the interior defense of Lyman, they're in the backfield, they're in the quarterback space and guess who's standing there?
- 53:03[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I'm like this, after they got beat.
- 53:05[SPEAKER_01]: KT Leveston, 72, you can see the number.
- 53:08[SPEAKER_01]: Why didn't clear?
- 53:09[SPEAKER_01]: He has turned sideways.
- 53:11[SPEAKER_01]: He has been beat by his man.
- 53:13[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what they're gonna do in the line, guys.
- 53:18[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 53:19[SPEAKER_01]: We got Jaguars in five weeks from today.
- 53:21[SPEAKER_01]: They'd better get a freaking figured out.
- 53:23[SPEAKER_01]: So really, the only guy that I think is set and determined is Zion Johnson at left guard.
- 53:28[SPEAKER_01]: I think Elton Jenkins is 98% going to be your center.
- 53:34[SPEAKER_01]: There was a lot of hope that Parker Brailsford could maybe grow into that starting center spot, claim it, come out and show that he can be that guy, let Jenkins Elped and Jenkins play the right guard spot.
- 53:45[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think that's going to happen.
- 53:47[SPEAKER_01]: So who's playing left tackle between the wand and Fano's playing right tackle?
- 53:53[SPEAKER_01]: Are they going to move tight as Howard into the right guard?
- 53:57[SPEAKER_01]: Who knows, we'll see.
- 53:59[SPEAKER_01]: Again, maybe I'm a little ahead of myself here.
- 54:01[SPEAKER_01]: You guys let me know in the comments if I, if I be in two pests of MISC about the Alliance, I've been two weeks of camp, I get it.
- 54:07[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I just lose, there's so much about this season about this offensive about the optimism, the quarterback, the receivers I just talked about, the running game, Quinshawn.
- 54:20[SPEAKER_01]: Everything hinges on the offensive line.
- 54:21[SPEAKER_01]: And for us to be two weeks into camp with more questions than answers at this point concerns me a lot.
- 54:29[SPEAKER_01]: And we're riding up there actually both times, riding up and riding back from training camp.
- 54:33[SPEAKER_01]: Justin looked at me twice and said, well, they're concerned about the old line.
- 54:40[SPEAKER_01]: That's not my best.
- 54:41[SPEAKER_01]: It's not my best Justin impersonation.
- 54:43[SPEAKER_01]: But that's based, that was it.
- 54:44[SPEAKER_01]: This old line is scary in the crap out of me, because we just don't know.
- 54:49[SPEAKER_01]: There's your online update.
- 54:50[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry, it's not more positive, but I also don't want to sugarcoat things for you guys.
- 54:54[SPEAKER_01]: This is what the situation looks like right now.
- 54:58[SPEAKER_01]: Defense, let's talk about that.
- 55:00[SPEAKER_01]: I just alluded to it.
- 55:01[SPEAKER_01]: And we'll start in the interior because that's where the situation really looks a little bit scary.
- 55:08[SPEAKER_01]: Our entire defense attack will room is off to the sideline.
- 55:12[SPEAKER_01]: Nobody's practicing right now.
- 55:15[SPEAKER_01]: So, Mason Graham missed all week of practice except for he finally came back.
- 55:20[SPEAKER_01]: I think yesterday was his day back.
- 55:22[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe was it Friday?
- 55:23[SPEAKER_01]: I can't remember if he came back Friday if it was just on Saturday, but either what he missed the vast majority of the week with an injury.
- 55:30[SPEAKER_01]: Undisclosed injury, we have no idea what these guys are dealing with again, cause they don't tell us.
- 55:34[SPEAKER_01]: So Mason Graham was out, but he's finally back.
- 55:36[SPEAKER_01]: So that's good.
- 55:37[SPEAKER_01]: Malik Collins is still on pup.
- 55:39[SPEAKER_01]: We have no idea when Malik Collins is coming back.
- 55:41[SPEAKER_01]: If he's going to come back at any point during camp, will he be back for week one?
- 55:45[SPEAKER_01]: Will they have to put him on whatever list he'll be out till week four?
- 55:48[SPEAKER_01]: We don't know what the timeline looks like for Malik Collins.
- 55:53[SPEAKER_01]: So that one concerns me.
- 55:55[SPEAKER_01]: My call junior, first week at training camp, looked great, he's fast off the line.
- 56:00[SPEAKER_01]: He's, you know, this could be the my call breakout season.
- 56:03[SPEAKER_01]: We saw all these reports out all week, week two, hasn't practiced at all, with an injury.
- 56:10[SPEAKER_01]: As the freaking story of his career from my call junior, just on a veilable, which makes you unreliable.
- 56:20[SPEAKER_01]: So that one, he's out.
- 56:23[SPEAKER_01]: We signed Clea Davis, free agent from the 49ers this off season as a good rotational defensive tackle, a nice big size run stopping guy.
- 56:32[SPEAKER_01]: He's not practicing.
- 56:33[SPEAKER_01]: He's out.
- 56:33[SPEAKER_01]: He left the first day of training camp last week, I believe it was with an injury.
- 56:39[SPEAKER_01]: He hasn't been back since Sam Kamara, you're what former UDFA practice squad guy who's been with the team for a few years now, he got carted off the other day.
- 56:50[SPEAKER_01]: He's out.
- 56:52[SPEAKER_01]: I could go, I guess speaking of card it off, going back to the offensive line, real quick, Zack's in or got carded off the other day.
- 57:00[SPEAKER_01]: So he's out, not that we were hoping for much from Zack's inner, but he was the second team right guard.
- 57:08[SPEAKER_01]: That's where he was repin.
- 57:09[SPEAKER_01]: So far in camp, just like my call, and that's sucks, because they were the same draft class or second and third round pick.
- 57:16[SPEAKER_01]: My call junior, Zack's in or both of them.
- 57:18[SPEAKER_01]: unavailable and unreliable.
- 57:21[SPEAKER_01]: Just sucks.
- 57:22[SPEAKER_01]: Just sucks the life out of what you're trying to do with your roster.
- 57:25[SPEAKER_01]: Back to the D line though.
- 57:26[SPEAKER_01]: So that's Elijah Chapman is a defensive tackle we signed in the office.
- 57:32[SPEAKER_01]: He was here a UFL guy or CF though.
- 57:36[SPEAKER_01]: I can't remember.
- 57:36[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe not.
- 57:36[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe I got that next up with somebody else.
- 57:39[SPEAKER_01]: He was out for a lot of the week.
- 57:42[SPEAKER_01]: And what one day it was eight in Huntington, not eight in Hutchinson.
- 57:47[SPEAKER_01]: I made that mistake on a short video.
- 57:48[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you guys out there who corrected me.
- 57:51[SPEAKER_01]: Slip at the tongue.
- 57:52[SPEAKER_01]: Eight in Huntington and Elijah Chatman were the first team defensive tackles for a couple of days of practice.
- 58:01[SPEAKER_01]: Not gonna cut it.
- 58:03[SPEAKER_01]: So, needless to say, I do not have an optimistic report for you guys about the interior of our defensive line.
- 58:10[SPEAKER_01]: Concerns the crap out of me.
- 58:12[SPEAKER_01]: It has this entire time.
- 58:14[SPEAKER_01]: If you've watched anything with me and can you talk about stuff defensive tackle and corner back have been the two positions we're like are we gonna do anything here?
- 58:23[SPEAKER_01]: Cause it's not looking good and that was when everybody was healthy.
- 58:28[SPEAKER_01]: Bad, bad, bad.
- 58:30[SPEAKER_01]: Defense events look great, okay?
- 58:33[SPEAKER_01]: Jaredverse, stud, stud, always in the backfield.
- 58:38[SPEAKER_01]: Like he has been dominating training camp.
- 58:42[SPEAKER_01]: He's been giving some very high quality reps to Spencer Fano.
- 58:45[SPEAKER_01]: There's so much so that the other day, yesterday, a practice, they got in the fight.
- 58:49[SPEAKER_01]: They got in the fight.
- 58:50[SPEAKER_01]: They're in a situation where Jared versus just taunting Fano.
- 58:54[SPEAKER_01]: And then when the offense gets Jared versus a jump off sides, Fano's taunting him, the competitive nature.
- 59:01[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't want you guys to hear me say that as a bad thing.
- 59:05[SPEAKER_01]: These are two high-level competitors, young athletes trying to develop and grow, playing against each other every day, every rep. And it's hot at camp right now, like stupid hot, tempers are high, flaring, emotions are up, like they finally took each other to the ground.
- 59:26[SPEAKER_01]: Got back up, it was all cool.
- 59:28[SPEAKER_01]: Line back up the very next plan went back at it.
- 59:30[SPEAKER_01]: So,
- 59:32[SPEAKER_01]: Jaredverse has been every bit the driving motor, the leader that this defense really did need on that defensive line.
- 59:41[SPEAKER_01]: So that's good news for Jaredverse.
- 59:43[SPEAKER_01]: Alex right on the other side has looked like a freaking menace.
- 59:46[SPEAKER_01]: Alex right, this dude looks like he's leveling up.
- 59:49[SPEAKER_01]: Now, it is training camp and the one thing to remember, defense is always ahead of the offense early in training camp.
- 59:58[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, they're definitely ahead of the offense.
- 1:00:01[SPEAKER_01]: And I think we have a very good defense.
- 1:00:03[SPEAKER_01]: I think that our defense, I said this the other day on a short video.
- 1:00:06[SPEAKER_01]: I think that got a chance to be better than they were last year.
- 1:00:08[SPEAKER_01]: Blake has been saying that for months.
- 1:00:11[SPEAKER_01]: I know we lost Miles Garrett.
- 1:00:15[SPEAKER_01]: But we also now we've got a different decordinator who's bringing a different energy to this team.
- 1:00:21[SPEAKER_01]: And I'll talk about that more with the secondary here in a minute, but this defensive front, especially on the edges,
- 1:00:28[SPEAKER_01]: I say McWier's been looking good.
- 1:00:30[SPEAKER_01]: I saw a clip the other day.
- 1:00:33[SPEAKER_01]: People say she doorstanders, hold on the ball too long, can't process post-snap.
- 1:00:39[SPEAKER_01]: Of course, it's ESB and Cleveland, which I'll tell you guys something about that here in a minute.
- 1:00:44[SPEAKER_01]: I would say don't let me forget, but I'm talking to myself right now, so I can't really do that.
- 1:00:49[SPEAKER_01]: What was I saying?
- 1:00:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, man.
- 1:00:51[SPEAKER_01]: Clevver to Sean Watson.
- 1:00:52[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 1:00:53[SPEAKER_01]: So there was a play where he's rolling out and he's like pump fake in this pump fake in that Isaiah McGuire sacked him twice on the play because you can clearly see in the clip 57 Isaiah McGuire just hands up stop back because he's not going to lay into the quarterback to Sean Watson still takes another two steps around back there.
- 1:01:11[SPEAKER_01]: Even after that wouldn't be sack finally throws the ball.
- 1:01:14[SPEAKER_01]: They're like, Oh, Casey concepts you own highlight catch.
- 1:01:16[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, yeah, I guess it was a good play.
- 1:01:21[SPEAKER_01]: the fact, but so ESB and Cleveland, I'm sorry guys, I know I'm going long.
- 1:01:28[SPEAKER_01]: Tony Grossy.
- 1:01:29[SPEAKER_01]: So funny.
- 1:01:30[SPEAKER_01]: We're sitting in the stands watching camp the other day and we're watching, you know, you see all the media guys, if you've been there, I mean, it's not like we're way, stands are very big.
- 1:01:38[SPEAKER_01]: We're looking down the sideline, we're looking at all the different media people.
- 1:01:41[SPEAKER_01]: And there's Tony Grossy and Chops.
- 1:01:44[SPEAKER_01]: That's your ESB and Cleveland crew, by the way, Tony Grossy and Chops.
- 1:01:48[SPEAKER_01]: You know, Chops, who is
- 1:01:52[SPEAKER_01]: Tony Grossie, at one point, this is 111 team drills, so the team is, say, the right here on the field, we're watching them and they're going this way toward the end zone.
- 1:02:04[SPEAKER_01]: If you guys are just listening on audio, this is really, really great for you.
- 1:02:07[SPEAKER_01]: Tony Grossie, down here, I'm not kidding, on the sideline, looking around the stands.
- 1:02:16[SPEAKER_01]: He looked lost.
- 1:02:17[SPEAKER_01]: We're like, what is he doing?
- 1:02:19[SPEAKER_01]: He's not even watching them.
- 1:02:21[SPEAKER_01]: He's not even watching the practice.
- 1:02:23[SPEAKER_01]: First of all, even if he was watching the field, he wouldn't have even been able to see the plays.
- 1:02:26[SPEAKER_01]: He was so far behind.
- 1:02:28[SPEAKER_01]: Like, he wouldn't have been able to see pass all the players lined up behind the play.
- 1:02:33[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what he was doing.
- 1:02:35[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know who's writing this content or who's taking the notes form.
- 1:02:39[SPEAKER_01]: It's not him or at least on Thursday.
- 1:02:40[SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't my goodness any okay back to the players I thought you guys would enjoy a little personal observation of Mr. Tony Grocery who still has this blocked on Twitter.
- 1:02:52[SPEAKER_01]: I love it I'm going to say my favorite position for last so let's talk about linebacker real quick linebackers look good Carson Swesinger has not been practicing
- 1:03:05[SPEAKER_01]: It sucks, but there's also, there's a difference between players who need to be on the field, getting reps, getting work and getting better, and then there's players not even concerned the least bit about and Carson's one of those guys.
- 1:03:16[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to be a stud, whether he's practicing right now, so he's got a minor injury.
- 1:03:20[SPEAKER_01]: He's dealing with not practicing.
- 1:03:22[SPEAKER_01]: Quincy Williams, he's a fiery little SOB man.
- 1:03:25[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to be all over the field, and he is going, I think he's going to be in the back field a lot.
- 1:03:30[SPEAKER_01]: I think they're going to use him on blitzing and...
- 1:03:34[SPEAKER_01]: I'm excited for Quincy Williams.
- 1:03:35[SPEAKER_01]: And then it's Eastin.
- 1:03:36[SPEAKER_01]: Masquerayna's Arnold is your first linebacker up.
- 1:03:40[SPEAKER_01]: He has been running in place of Carson Swachinger as the green dot, as the, was that the main Mike linebacker.
- 1:03:49[SPEAKER_01]: So East and Masquerina, and he looks good.
- 1:03:51[SPEAKER_01]: He looks very good.
- 1:03:52[SPEAKER_01]: UDFA from last season.
- 1:03:53[SPEAKER_01]: So Andrew Berries, he's had some good luck with these UDFA's the last few years.
- 1:03:58[SPEAKER_01]: And East and Masquerina's aren't a looks like he's the next one.
- 1:04:01[SPEAKER_01]: And then after that, I think you got Justin Jefferson, the rookie fifth round, rookie out Alabama.
- 1:04:06[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's coming along.
- 1:04:08[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think he's going to be in the rotation on defense.
- 1:04:12[SPEAKER_01]: At least for the first part of the season, I think you're going to see him primarily on special teams.
- 1:04:16[SPEAKER_01]: And that's fine.
- 1:04:16[SPEAKER_01]: We got Carson, we got Quincy.
- 1:04:19[SPEAKER_01]: M.A.
- 1:04:20[SPEAKER_01]: So there's East and Masquerines, Arnold, EMA, and then you got Emanuel McNeil Warren, EMW.
- 1:04:24[SPEAKER_01]: So we like our hyphenated long-frican names here in Cleveland.
- 1:04:28[SPEAKER_01]: So linebackers, I'm not concerned about, I think that's a good group of players that, oh, Winston Reed.
- 1:04:35[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I can't believe I'm just talking about it.
- 1:04:37[SPEAKER_01]: Winston Reed.
- 1:04:37[SPEAKER_01]: Another UDFA from two years ago, out of Weber State, Winston Reed, the dog, man.
- 1:04:43[SPEAKER_01]: I think,
- 1:04:45[SPEAKER_01]: I like, I just, I like our linebackers.
- 1:04:47[SPEAKER_01]: I really do.
- 1:04:48[SPEAKER_01]: I think I know a lot of people in the, in the off-season said, we need to address linebacker.
- 1:04:52[SPEAKER_01]: I think for good, I think we're really good at linebacker.
- 1:04:55[SPEAKER_01]: Cornerback.
- 1:04:57[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, let's just talk second-dairy in general because I can go I can go positive negative here corner back Your top two guys Denzel word Tyson Campbell elite that's an elite duo of cornerbacks right there They are dogs.
- 1:05:11[SPEAKER_01]: I am that is awesome.
- 1:05:13[SPEAKER_01]: That is a a fantastic CB1 and CB2
- 1:05:19[SPEAKER_01]: After that, it ain't looking good.
- 1:05:21[SPEAKER_01]: Miles Harden is the hopeful corner back three right now playing a lot of the nickel and the guy that they hope slots into the number three spot.
- 1:05:29[SPEAKER_01]: Miles Harden.
- 1:05:31[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, you've been around for the last few years.
- 1:05:33[SPEAKER_01]: It hadn't looked pretty when Miles Harden's been in coverage.
- 1:05:37[SPEAKER_01]: Not that he's a bad player because there have obviously been plays that have, you know, he's done well.
- 1:05:43[SPEAKER_01]: But if you're going to find a guy in the second area to pick on, it's going to be him.
- 1:05:46[SPEAKER_01]: So that concerns me.
- 1:05:50[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, Miles Bryant is sideline with an injury.
- 1:05:54[SPEAKER_01]: He hasn't practiced all week.
- 1:05:56[SPEAKER_01]: Michael Coates Jr's been playing well, but he's primarily running with the threes, the UDF out, UDFA out of West Virginia out.
- 1:06:03[SPEAKER_01]: I have not heard seen red anything about any other corners, other than, the Angela Ross and Tray Avery have been,
- 1:06:15[SPEAKER_01]: They might be those guys that were reliant on in case of injury for this roster, which just, man, it concerns me.
- 1:06:23[SPEAKER_01]: Cornerback concerns me, the same way defensive tackle, depth really concerns me.
- 1:06:28[SPEAKER_01]: But the part of the second day I'm going to end the show on this.
- 1:06:32[SPEAKER_01]: Part of the second day that you guys should be freaking excited about is our safeties.
- 1:06:39[SPEAKER_01]: Safety looks fantastic.
- 1:06:43[SPEAKER_01]: Grant Delpit's playing a lot of deep safety.
- 1:06:47[SPEAKER_01]: Solved that at practice the other day, he was back deep a ton.
- 1:06:50[SPEAKER_01]: He's been making play after play after play all camp.
- 1:06:54[SPEAKER_01]: He looks so good.
- 1:06:56[SPEAKER_01]: He is, he's such a versatile player.
- 1:06:58[SPEAKER_01]: He can play up close to the line of scrimmage.
- 1:07:01[SPEAKER_01]: He can rush the pass or you can send him on a blitz.
- 1:07:04[SPEAKER_01]: He can play in the box, he can play run support.
- 1:07:07[SPEAKER_01]: He can play back deep, he can play centerfield.
- 1:07:09[SPEAKER_01]: The dude is amazing.
- 1:07:11[SPEAKER_01]: I'm so glad we extended him and locked him up.
- 1:07:15[SPEAKER_01]: Ronnie Hickman, I think that he's probably next in line for an extension here.
- 1:07:20[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe a two-year extension with the brown saw, I think they're going to come to something with him.
- 1:07:26[SPEAKER_01]: He looks good.
- 1:07:26[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, we know that he had a great season last year, very under the radar, statistically for this defense.
- 1:07:34[SPEAKER_01]: And then the rookie,
- 1:07:37[SPEAKER_01]: He missed all of OTAs.
- 1:07:38[SPEAKER_01]: We need to keep that in mind when we talk about EMW.
- 1:07:40[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of people and again, I get it.
- 1:07:42[SPEAKER_01]: You're not following super close like we are in half two and you're not a camp.
- 1:07:47[SPEAKER_01]: So thank you for asking the questions.
- 1:07:48[SPEAKER_01]: And again, I see a lot of the questions.
- 1:07:50[SPEAKER_01]: How's EMW look?
- 1:07:51[SPEAKER_01]: How's the rookie looking as he is he coming along?
- 1:07:52[SPEAKER_01]: Is he playing with the first team?
- 1:07:54[SPEAKER_01]: EMW missed all of OTAs with a minor injury.
- 1:07:58[SPEAKER_01]: So we don't know what it was.
- 1:08:00[SPEAKER_01]: But he wasn't out there.
- 1:08:01[SPEAKER_01]: So training came here these last two weeks, so the first time he's really gotten consistent, significant run with this team, primarily with the second team, mixing in a little bit with the ones, starting to make some plays now.
- 1:08:15[SPEAKER_01]: starting to make some plays and team drills and moving them with the ones rotating in and they're starting to use more of these three safety looks which we're anticipating more of this year and he's looking good.
- 1:08:26[SPEAKER_01]: And one thing I'll tell you guys is he is fast.
- 1:08:28[SPEAKER_01]: This guy can move and cover space like a human being shouldn't be able to do.
- 1:08:33[SPEAKER_01]: If you guys saw the clip,
- 1:08:35[SPEAKER_01]: where it was just a one-on-one rep.
- 1:08:37[SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't like a team drill or anything, but Shador's trying to throw a, I don't know if it was a curler or something to, I don't remember who the receiver was.
- 1:08:45[SPEAKER_01]: And people want to knock on Shador for the throw.
- 1:08:48[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he threw it on a rope.
- 1:08:50[SPEAKER_01]: EMW is 10 yards off the receiver.
- 1:08:54[SPEAKER_01]: And in the time it took from the throw to get from Shador's hand to the receiver, he covered that 10 yards laid out and was able to knock the ball away.
- 1:09:04[SPEAKER_01]: that was impressive, that was very impressive.
- 1:09:07[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm excited, EMW, and what makes me, so the top three safety's there, make me very excited for the safety room.
- 1:09:15[SPEAKER_01]: But it's the depth that's safety.
- 1:09:17[SPEAKER_01]: That makes me love this unit, probably the most of any on defense.
- 1:09:22[SPEAKER_01]: Donovan McMillan, UDFA from last year, looks legit.
- 1:09:26[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's leading the team in interceptions and can't, by the way, this secondary has, what is it now?
- 1:09:33[SPEAKER_01]: 18, 1920, somewhere around there, turnovers, interceptions through two weeks of camp.
- 1:09:39[SPEAKER_01]: And that's not an indictment on the quarterbacks.
- 1:09:43[SPEAKER_01]: This secondary is good, okay?
- 1:09:46[SPEAKER_01]: Mike Routenberg was the defensive, what, defensive passing game coordinator, focusing on the secondary last year for the Falcons, and they were, I believe, fifth.
- 1:09:56[SPEAKER_01]: They have a fifth highest turnovers.
- 1:09:59[SPEAKER_01]: in the NFL last year.
- 1:10:00[SPEAKER_01]: He's brought that my ball, go get the ball, turn it over mentality to this defense and it is showing in our secondary.
- 1:10:09[SPEAKER_01]: It is awesome.
- 1:10:10[SPEAKER_01]: And Donovan Macmillan's a huge part of that.
- 1:10:12[SPEAKER_01]: So I like if any of the the top three guys have to miss time or they come out for a series because they're tired or they tweet an ankle or whatever.
- 1:10:20[SPEAKER_01]: And Donovan Macmillan is coming in.
- 1:10:21[SPEAKER_01]: I don't feel like we're going to miss a beat.
- 1:10:23[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like he is that dude and I'm excited about that.
- 1:10:27[SPEAKER_01]: And you got Daniel Thomas behind that.
- 1:10:30[SPEAKER_01]: I think that we have very good depth at safety.
- 1:10:33[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what makes me think safety is probably my favorite position on defense right now for this team.
- 1:10:38[SPEAKER_01]: I'm very excited.
- 1:10:38[SPEAKER_01]: So that's it guys.
- 1:10:42[SPEAKER_01]: I hear that we might have a punner battle.
- 1:10:44[SPEAKER_01]: I'll get in more of that later this week.
- 1:10:45[SPEAKER_01]: Just some is talking about that.
- 1:10:47[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't really look a whole lot up.
- 1:10:48[SPEAKER_01]: Who Cory Bajorke has his punning against.
- 1:10:50[SPEAKER_01]: I don't even know the kid's name.
- 1:10:52[SPEAKER_01]: But apparently he's making it a competition.
- 1:10:55[SPEAKER_01]: And I wasn't expecting that.
- 1:10:57[SPEAKER_01]: Andre Schmidt looks good and I think our special teams is going to be, God, can't be a whole lot worse than last year as far as coverage and return.
- 1:11:05[SPEAKER_01]: But,
- 1:11:07[SPEAKER_01]: That's it, training camp week two in the books, the first two weeks were, I mean, all of the offensive installs are done.
- 1:11:14[SPEAKER_01]: That was finished this week.
- 1:11:16[SPEAKER_01]: Everything is in place.
- 1:11:17[SPEAKER_01]: Now it is just all about practicing and this coming week will be preparing for the preseason week one game in Chicago against the bears on Saturday at 1 o'clock.
- 1:11:27[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll see how it goes, guys.
- 1:11:28[SPEAKER_01]: But let me know your thoughts and everything about anything I talked about here, anything I missed, anything you don't think I covered or anything I was wrong or whatever.
- 1:11:35[SPEAKER_01]: Just let me know in the comments.
- 1:11:36[SPEAKER_01]: We'll get to it.
- 1:11:37[SPEAKER_01]: I appreciate you guys tuning in.
- 1:11:41[SPEAKER_01]: We got our first game preview coming up this week.
- 1:11:44[SPEAKER_01]: That's going to be exciting.
- 1:11:45[SPEAKER_01]: We'll preview that preseason game against the bears.
- 1:11:48[SPEAKER_01]: And then after the bears, I'm not sure if we'll do it Saturday or Sunday, but we'll do our first recap episode of the season.
- 1:11:54[SPEAKER_01]: Football is finally here, and I'm excited.
- 1:11:57[SPEAKER_01]: Even though there's this controversy with the quarterbacks, and there's this drama, and I just don't know what's going on with the offensive line, hey, football's back.
- 1:12:06[SPEAKER_01]: And at least, I'm excited about that, so.
- 1:12:09[SPEAKER_01]: I appreciate you guys again.
- 1:12:10[SPEAKER_01]: If you want to play fancy football, the clock is ticking guys.
