- 0:00Speaker 1: I'm not going to defend NASA, but you know, they,
- 0:02Speaker 1: they also don't just constantly lie either. Um, no one,
- 0:07Speaker 1: no one in those positions, I don't think constantly tells
- 0:10Speaker 1: the truth, but I don't think they also constantly lie.
- 0:13Speaker 1: So there is some truth there, but, um, and we're
- 0:15Speaker 1: able to observe that, you know, from our own backyards.
- 0:18Speaker 1: So the, um, I think the, I mean, I want
- 0:24Speaker 1: to get your opinion on this, but I think the
- 0:25Speaker 1: idea that, um, that all of this is fake and
- 0:29Speaker 1: can't trust any of it is it's just comes from
- 0:32Speaker 1: that distrust of, you know, our authorities and you know,
- 0:36Speaker 1: we can't trust anything the government says and that sort
- 0:38Speaker 1: of thing. And that includes anything involved, any government organization,
- 0:43Speaker 1: including NASA, because, you know, there's, there's the whole moon landing.
- 0:48Speaker 1: I don't even know what the right word question. There
- 0:51Speaker 1: you go. Yeah. And you know, all that stuff. And so,
- 0:57Speaker 1: most people will just look up and say, I don't
- 0:59Speaker 1: trust anything. I don't even trust anything I see in
- 1:01Speaker 1: the sky, you know, and I, and I've gotten a
- 1:03Speaker 1: lot of that, you know, and you've seen, you know,
- 1:04Speaker 1: unfortunately we have to read the comments sometimes. And there's
- 1:08Speaker 1: people that don't believe that the stars are real. There's
- 1:11Speaker 1: people that don't believe that the sky is real. There's
- 1:13Speaker 1: people that don't believe when rockets launch, they actually go anywhere.
- 1:19Speaker 1: And I'm not here to, you know, mock their ideas
- 1:21Speaker 1: or their, you know, but, you know, I like rockets too.
- 1:24Speaker 1: I think rockets are fun. They're, they're exciting. They're huge.
- 1:28Speaker 1: They're powerful. And they, uh, they just show, you know,
- 1:32Speaker 1: really they're, they're engineering marvels. And, um, but I think
- 1:37Speaker 1: what's fun is when you see a rocket launch and
- 1:39Speaker 1: you see like a long exposure of it, it always
- 1:41Speaker 1: goes up and then, well, let me see if it
- 1:45Speaker 1: goes up and it goes down. And I think people
- 1:48Speaker 1: assume it crashes or something. And actually what we're seeing
- 1:51Speaker 1: is it's going up and it's going around the earth.
- 1:54Speaker 1: So anyway, yeah, there's just a lot of distrust in anything.
- 2:01Speaker 1: I mean, you know, it ultimately becomes an obsession to
- 2:05Speaker 1: not trust anything. And, you know, there's people out there
- 2:10Speaker 1: that won't just, you just present them with any fact
- 2:14Speaker 1: or any evidence. And no, I don't trust it. But
- 2:18Speaker 1: watch this video. There it is. But watch this video.
- 2:22Speaker 1: You got to see this video because this is true,
- 2:25Speaker 1: you know? So anyway, let's see here. Why don't we
- 2:30Speaker 1: jump right into, since we're kind of in that part
- 2:32Speaker 1: of the left field, I guess, let's maybe talk about
- 2:36Speaker 1: some of the things that are really, that really take
- 2:39Speaker 1: the center stage when it comes to what's real and
- 2:43Speaker 1: what's not. And that, so there's this movement. I don't
- 2:46Speaker 1: know when this movement started. I know that there's been
- 2:48Speaker 1: several throughout history.
- 2:50Speaker 3: Sure.
- 2:52Speaker 1: But then it's been proven several times throughout history and
- 2:58Speaker 1: it just keeps coming up again that the earth is
- 3:00Speaker 1: a sphere, maybe not a perfectly shaped sphere, but not
- 3:04Speaker 1: a flat pancake, you know. And why don't we just
- 3:08Speaker 1: talk a little bit about that and kind of you're
- 3:12Speaker 1: you've probably dealt with more of the comment side of
- 3:17Speaker 1: people's thoughts on why the earth is flat, you know.
- 3:20Speaker 1: the Arctic circle or the Antarctic circle or whatever. It's
- 3:24Speaker 1: the wall, the ice wall, stuff like that.
- 3:26Speaker 2: I mean, it's, you know, if part of it too is,
- 3:30Speaker 2: and I don't want to say it's a, it's a
- 3:32Speaker 2: biblical cosmology because now what people say is that they'll,
- 3:39Speaker 2: as language changes and arguments change and the debate goes on,
- 3:43Speaker 2: now many people will say, Oh no, I'm not a
- 3:45Speaker 2: flat earther.
- 3:46Speaker 3: I'm a biblical earther.
- 3:48Speaker 2: And so they, You have a, from ancient times, you know,
- 3:55Speaker 2: whether you're a Mesopotamian mentality or their cosmology, which many,
- 4:01Speaker 2: even someone like Michael Heiser, the late Michael Heiser, has
- 4:07Speaker 2: made claims that the biblical cosmology is rooted or identical
- 4:12Speaker 2: to the Mesopotamian cosmology, and therefore the Mesopotamian cosmology or
- 4:17Speaker 2: religion Another way to say it is the biblical cosmology
- 4:23Speaker 2: taught a flat earth with a hardened dome above it.
- 4:29Speaker 2: And then the sun and the moon were basically orbiting
- 4:33Speaker 2: underneath that high dome. And I think that's been very
- 4:37Speaker 2: unfortunate because there's no doubt you have much of that
- 4:41Speaker 2: in the Mesopotamian Near Eastern, I'll say it that way,
- 4:44Speaker 2: it's probably better, Near Eastern mythology. But to turn around
- 4:49Speaker 2: and say that that's identical to what the Bible teaches,
- 4:52Speaker 2: I think is erroneous. There is similarity in language, no doubt,
- 4:57Speaker 2: in some of that.
- 4:59Speaker 3: But that's when you have.
- 5:02Speaker 2: So you have the flat Earth idea rooted in some
- 5:04Speaker 2: of this Near Eastern ancient cosmology. So then, of course, naturally, people,
- 5:10Speaker 2: when you're living in a non-scientific age, no satellites or
- 5:13Speaker 2: other things, you're going to base... you're going to, in
- 5:17Speaker 2: a non-scientific world in many ways, you're going to base
- 5:20Speaker 2: your understanding of the world. It's going to be rooted
- 5:24Speaker 2: and based on your perception. So the sun comes up,
- 5:29Speaker 2: you know, in the East, it goes over my head
- 5:31Speaker 2: and it sets over there. So from my perspective, I'm
- 5:34Speaker 2: not feeling any movement. It looks like the sun is
- 5:36Speaker 2: going around and then I don't know where it goes,
- 5:37Speaker 2: but somehow it ends up on the other side and
- 5:40Speaker 2: in the next day. And then of course they were
- 5:43Speaker 2: able to see, and they knew a lot about the perception.
- 5:45Speaker 2: That's important. They knew a lot about the perception of
- 5:48Speaker 2: the stars and their movement, even the zodiac, the Maserat,
- 5:53Speaker 2: where the sun was.
- 5:53Speaker 3: They knew about the ecliptic.
- 5:56Speaker 2: The ecliptic is the path of the sun in the sky,
- 6:00Speaker 2: according to our perception, at night or even during the day.
- 6:04Speaker 2: It follows a very specific, in the northern hemisphere, starts
- 6:07Speaker 2: in the east and then makes its way over at
- 6:10Speaker 2: a certain height, latitude, or degrees up, and then it
- 6:14Speaker 2: makes its way. And then, of course, as we know,
- 6:16Speaker 2: It's very predictable between the four seasons, you know, the
- 6:20Speaker 2: equinoxes and the solstices. So you're like, oh, wow, there
- 6:22Speaker 2: it is. It's in the same spot, you know, and
- 6:25Speaker 2: so you can make these predictions. The moon itself has
- 6:27Speaker 2: its own cycle, you know, an 18.62 lunar cycle of
- 6:32Speaker 2: where it comes based on how it's coming up in
- 6:35Speaker 2: the east and setting in the west. So they were
- 6:37Speaker 2: able to be able to perceive all these movements. And
- 6:41Speaker 2: then they came up with their ideas. But it was
- 6:44Speaker 2: really you go back to the third century B.C. And Aristosthenes,
- 6:49Speaker 2: you see them say, hey, that's interesting that in Egypt,
- 6:55Speaker 2: you know, you're dealing with, of course, if you add in,
- 6:57Speaker 2: let me just say this, if you add in what
- 6:59Speaker 2: we now understand the 23 and a half degree tilt,
- 7:02Speaker 2: the sun, that creates a whole nother layer of complexity.
- 7:06Speaker 2: But so when you're in the 23.5 north latitude, what
- 7:10Speaker 2: we understand in south, you're going to have this range.
- 7:14Speaker 2: And so they're in Egypt. And they noticed that the
- 7:18Speaker 2: sun was directly above.
- 7:21Speaker 3: And they're like, oh, wow.
- 7:22Speaker 2: And they were able to look down a well and
- 7:25Speaker 2: they could see that it was directly, there was no shadow.
- 7:27Speaker 2: And so then they decided, let's do some tests. And
- 7:30Speaker 2: so they saw that there. And then they went north,
- 7:34Speaker 2: I don't know, 500 miles. And at the same time,
- 7:37Speaker 2: and they saw, oh, there's a difference. The sun is
- 7:40Speaker 2: casting a shadow on this particular stick at a certain degree.
- 7:44Speaker 2: So then they just they mapped it out and they
- 7:46Speaker 2: were able, this is, again, this is like third century BC.
- 7:50Speaker 2: They were able to calculate that based on the degrees,
- 7:53Speaker 2: they're very, very smart. Like based on the cat, you know,
- 7:56Speaker 2: 360 degrees, this many degrees for this many miles, um, simple, well,
- 8:01Speaker 2: not simple, but some math, the circumference of the earth
- 8:04Speaker 2: is around 24,000 miles. It has to be based on
- 8:08Speaker 2: the shadows of the sun, uh, and it being spherical.
- 8:13Speaker 2: So this is, that's where they began. And, the Greeks
- 8:16Speaker 2: began to challenge some of this, the flat earth mentality.
- 8:20Speaker 2: And of course that, as we know, that's a very
- 8:23Speaker 2: good estimate estimation of the size that we now understand.
- 8:27Speaker 3: So of course, you know, different cultures, they don't.
- 8:31Speaker 2: Really care necessarily whether the earth's global, you're just trying
- 8:34Speaker 2: to eat, you know, you're trying to survive. So, however,
- 8:37Speaker 2: so you see flat earth get obviously challenged back in
- 8:42Speaker 2: those times and then it ebbs and it flows and,
- 8:45Speaker 2: And then throughout history. And then you come, of course,
- 8:48Speaker 2: to more of what we call the modern age, you know, Copernicus.
- 8:53Speaker 2: Then you talk about whether the earth is stationary, whether
- 8:55Speaker 2: it's moving. Heliocentrism, you know, geocentrism. So you start seeing
- 9:00Speaker 2: this stuff, 1600s, 1700s, various things. A guy named Tycho,
- 9:05Speaker 2: you know, talks about geocentric stuff.
- 9:07Speaker 3: So then, of course, now, well, why are we talking
- 9:10Speaker 3: about this now?
- 9:11Speaker 2: Aren't we beyond this? Well, now it's because of social media.
- 9:15Speaker 2: And so a lot of these old arguments are coming up.
- 9:18Speaker 2: And as you said, people say, well, I watch this video.
- 9:22Speaker 2: And so all these videos, like you can't trust any videos.
- 9:26Speaker 2: When I tell people, I don't trust any videos. Don't
- 9:28Speaker 2: even look at my videos. If you want, like you said,
- 9:29Speaker 2: come over to my house. I'll show you what I'm
- 9:31Speaker 2: seeing in the telescope. Or I tell people, you don't
- 9:34Speaker 2: have to believe me. Go to a local star party.
- 9:36Speaker 2: I mean, you're going to get 20 inch scopes out
- 9:38Speaker 2: there because people, as we know in our world, they
- 9:41Speaker 2: love to share off their toys.
- 9:43Speaker 3: So you don't need to have money to buy a scope.
- 9:45Speaker 2: Go to a star party, look through the big thing, see,
- 9:49Speaker 2: like you said, look at Jupiter. You could watch it
- 9:51Speaker 2: all night. It rotates in, you know, under 10 hours.
- 9:54Speaker 2: You could see that. You could see the rings of Saturn.
- 9:56Speaker 2: I had one lady tell me, I can't believe you're lying.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Mars is just a point of light. All the planets
- 10:02Speaker 2: are just a point of light. I'm like, have you
- 10:04Speaker 2: ever looked through a telescope? And she said, I don't
- 10:06Speaker 2: have money. I go, you don't need money. But I
- 10:08Speaker 2: promise you, go look through it with your own eyes.
- 10:11Speaker 2: So I tell people, look, believe what your own eyes
- 10:16Speaker 2: tell you. And I'll end this little rant here is
- 10:20Speaker 2: that God has given our five senses, and there's a
- 10:25Speaker 2: basic reliability of our five senses. Obviously, I don't have
- 10:29Speaker 2: perfect vision, so there is a limit, you know, sometimes
- 10:32Speaker 2: I can touch things, but God expects us to get,
- 10:35Speaker 2: these five senses are reliable. They're reliable to tell us
- 10:38Speaker 2: that we live in a real world, and of course,
- 10:40Speaker 2: that real word points to the gospel, points to the creator,
- 10:42Speaker 2: et cetera, Romans chapter one.
- 10:44Speaker 3: So we have reliability, basically.
- 10:48Speaker 2: So I tell people, Go out and look through a
- 10:51Speaker 2: telescope and make your conclusions with your own eyeballs rather
- 10:56Speaker 2: than watching a video on YouTube. Use your own eyeballs
- 10:59Speaker 2: because I will tell you that anything that we truly,
- 11:02Speaker 2: it's a true representation by our own eyeballs, our own investigation,
- 11:07Speaker 2: it will not contradict what the Bible says, correctly interpreted, nowhere.
- 11:13Speaker 3: So that's kind of been the role.
- 11:16Speaker 2: And so now you, of course, because of social media,
- 11:19Speaker 2: Now we're having to deal with some of the accusations
- 11:22Speaker 2: that are being made against NASA and its images and
- 11:28Speaker 2: space telescopes, whether it's Hubble or James Webb or others.
- 11:33Speaker 3: That blinds us now. Here we are. Boom. Here's the controversy.
- 11:37Speaker 3: What do we believe?
