- 0:00Speaker 1: Three things you need to know.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Happy Friday, friends. Oh, man, we made it to Friday.
- 0:04Speaker 2: It's been quite a week. Ricky Sanchez is right here
- 0:07Speaker 2: with those three things presented by Mark Spain Real Estate.
- 0:09Speaker 2: What's going on, Ricky?
- 0:11Speaker 3: Olivia Rodrigo promises that more Legos are coming. Olivia and
- 0:16Speaker 3: Lego released five collectible sets that were inspired by her music, performances,
- 0:20Speaker 3: and her personal style. They were released last month. The
- 0:23Speaker 3: collab was the first time Lego launched multiple collections. Oh,
- 0:27Speaker 3: that's lovely.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 0:29Speaker 3: Somebody else is in the studio and messed with my buttons.
- 0:34Speaker 3: Thank you, Jonathan. So this collab was the first time
- 0:37Speaker 3: that Lego launched multiple collections for one musician at once.
- 0:41Speaker 3: They incorporated favorite outfits, tour moments, hidden Easter eggs into
- 0:46Speaker 3: all of the sets. Fans bought them up so quickly. Obviously,
- 0:50Speaker 3: totally makes sense. And now, since they sold out so fast,
- 0:54Speaker 3: she's already teasing another Lego project. She shared, quote, we're
- 0:58Speaker 3: already cooking up another fun thing together. So eventually there
- 1:01Speaker 3: will be more. Nashville Glass House is closing its hot
- 1:04Speaker 3: shop on Sunday, December 20th. I'm really bummed about this.
- 1:08Speaker 3: So they offer glass blowing classes to make things like
- 1:11Speaker 3: Christmas ornaments, pumpkins, drinking glasses. We're bummed to hear that
- 1:15Speaker 3: they're stopping their classes and closing their hot shop. But
- 1:18Speaker 3: they do have availability until they close. on december 20th
- 1:21Speaker 3: so if you ever wanted to do this now is
- 1:23Speaker 3: your time um and the good news is that the
- 1:25Speaker 3: coffee shop isn't going anywhere and their glass their glass
- 1:29Speaker 3: work will remain available for purchase inside the coffee shop
- 1:33Speaker 3: but go show out go check out a class before
- 1:36Speaker 3: december 20th i've wanted to do this for quite a
- 1:38Speaker 3: while so this is kind of my push to actually
- 1:40Speaker 3: do it so i will definitely be making something it's
- 1:44Speaker 3: really cool to watch them like make these things it's
- 1:46Speaker 3: wild how it all works And Pinterest 2026 hobbies trend.
- 1:50Speaker 3: Their report has come out. The biggest hobbies right now
- 1:53Speaker 3: are all about slowing down, which makes sense. Everybody's got
- 1:56Speaker 3: a lot going on. These are the top hobbies that
- 1:58Speaker 3: people are getting into right now based on Pinterest search data.
- 2:02Speaker 3: Inspired by the upcoming release of Practical Magic 2, searches
- 2:05Speaker 3: are soaring on Pinterest for herbal apothecary and candle making tutorials. Also,
- 2:11Speaker 3: searches have spiked for terms like learn astrology and tarot
- 2:14Speaker 3: cards for beginners. And people are leaning really into the
- 2:18Speaker 3: study of nature. They're focusing on art and nature with
- 2:21Speaker 3: things like dried and pressed flowers, watercolor sketchbooks, and illustrated
- 2:26Speaker 3: field guides. I'm Ricky Sanchez, and those are the three
- 2:29Speaker 3: things you need to know.
- 2:30Speaker 2: That's interesting.
- 2:30Speaker 1: Thank you, Ricky.
- 2:31Speaker 2: I like the idea of slowing down, finding a nice,
- 2:33Speaker 2: chill hobby.
- 2:34Speaker 1: Yes.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Let's play some new music, shall we? This is exciting.
- 2:37Speaker 2: It's New Music Friday over here at the River. The
- 2:40Speaker 2: song just came out. It's the Jonas Brothers. It's called
- 2:43Speaker 2: Listen When Sad on this New Music Friday on the River.
- 2:46Speaker 2: Here we go. New Jonas Brothers.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 2:51Speaker 3: I am so happy that it is Friday. It's going
- 2:54Speaker 3: to be a great weekend for me and for all
- 2:57Speaker 3: of you as well. I'm manifesting it right now. Everyone's
- 3:00Speaker 3: going to have a great weekend. It's Ricky, Zach, and
- 3:02Speaker 3: Mano in the morning on 107.5 The River. Denise and LaFayette,
- 3:06Speaker 3: how are you doing? I am great.
- 3:08Speaker 4: It's Friday.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:10Speaker 3: What do you got planned this weekend?
- 3:12Speaker 1: Work.
- 3:12Speaker 4: I'm doing my day off.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Okay.
- 3:15Speaker 3: What day do you have off? Do you have Saturday
- 3:16Speaker 3: or Sunday off? Saturday.
- 3:18Speaker 4: I rotate weekends.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Oh, gotcha. What do you do? Are you a nurse?
- 3:22Speaker 3: No.
- 3:22Speaker 1: Sorry, I'm in.
- 3:23Speaker 4: I work in retail.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Okay.
- 3:25Speaker 3: Retail is rough. We've talked about this before, and I
- 3:28Speaker 3: literally just had a conversation yesterday about the fact that
- 3:31Speaker 3: I think every person should have to work in retail.
- 3:34Speaker 3: for a year, and they should have to wait tables
- 3:37Speaker 3: or bartend for a year. Because once you know what
- 3:40Speaker 3: that entails, you'll be a lot nicer to those people.
- 3:43Speaker 2: That's not a bad idea.
- 3:44Speaker 3: I agree. I say that all the time.
- 3:46Speaker 2: What store do you work at, Denise, if you don't
- 3:48Speaker 2: mind telling us?
- 3:49Speaker 3: I work at a Dollar General.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, that's Zach's happy place. He might be at
- 3:53Speaker 2: a Dollar General right now.
- 3:54Speaker 1: We don't know.
- 3:55Speaker 2: He took a couple days off on vacation inside a
- 3:57Speaker 2: Dollar General.
- 3:58Speaker 3: I was going to say, imagine he's just literally living
- 4:00Speaker 3: inside a Dollar General right now.
- 4:03Speaker 2: I feel like that could be a reality show of
- 4:05Speaker 2: Zach living in a Dollar General.
- 4:07Speaker 4: I like it.
- 4:08Speaker 2: I'm here for it.
- 4:09Speaker 3: Well, Denise, I know that you have plans this weekend
- 4:12Speaker 3: and you got to get to work on Sunday. But
- 4:14Speaker 3: if you have no plans coming up on September 11th
- 4:16Speaker 3: through the 20th, we got your plans now. You got
- 4:18Speaker 3: a four packet tickets to the National Fair because you
- 4:20Speaker 3: are the first caller of the day this morning on 107.5
- 4:23Speaker 3: The River.
- 4:23Speaker 4: Oh, my God.
- 4:24Speaker 3: I'm so happy.
- 4:26Speaker 2: That's awesome. Four tickets. Congratulations. Who are you going to take?
- 4:30Speaker 2: Do you have any kids or you take friends? What
- 4:32Speaker 2: are you going to do?
- 4:32Speaker 4: I'm going to take my new husband and my kids.
- 4:35Speaker 3: New husband.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Congratulations.
- 4:38Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 4:38Speaker 3: You guys are going to have so much fun.
- 4:40Speaker 2: Enjoy.
- 4:41Speaker 3: Get on all the rides. Eat all the great fair food.
- 4:45Speaker 3: And just have the best time.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. I will.
- 4:47Speaker 4: Thank you guys so much.
- 4:48Speaker 3: Ricky, Zach, and Menno in the morning.
- 4:51Speaker 2: 107.5, The River with Tame Impala. And a little rundown
- 4:54Speaker 2: of all the things happening in Nashville this weekend. If
- 4:56Speaker 2: you don't have plans yet. We got you. Ricky Sanchez
- 5:00Speaker 2: has a few things in town. What's going on, Ricky?
- 5:02Speaker 3: Yeah, normally Zach does this, but he's out today, so
- 5:05Speaker 3: I'm taking over. Musician's Corner is happening tonight at Centennial Park.
- 5:09Speaker 3: Musician's Corner Fall Series has performances from a range of
- 5:12Speaker 3: different musicians in different genres. It's really cool. So along
- 5:16Speaker 3: with that, they'll also have Nashville's favorite food vendors, local artisans,
- 5:20Speaker 3: a Kidsville activities area. And it's free and pet friendly.
- 5:24Speaker 3: So you can bring both your kids and your dogs,
- 5:26Speaker 3: hang out outside, see some great acts, support some local
- 5:30Speaker 3: and up and coming musicians. All just like really good stuff.
- 5:34Speaker 3: And it should be nice tonight for it. Tomorrow morning,
- 5:37Speaker 3: there's a family-friendly dance party happening at Pinewood Social. Starts
- 5:41Speaker 3: at 10 a.m. with music. They're going to have bubble machines, streamers,
- 5:45Speaker 3: glow sticks, and more. It's perfect for all ages, and
- 5:48Speaker 3: kids are free to go. So this is a fun
- 5:50Speaker 3: way to start your morning. Maybe get some energy out
- 5:53Speaker 3: tomorrow morning. You can head on over to Pinewood Social
- 5:56Speaker 3: at 10 a.m. for that. And then Kevin, I thought
- 5:58Speaker 3: of you when I saw this. On Sunday, there's open
- 6:02Speaker 3: Mahjong play happening.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:05Speaker 3: So this is for beginners and skilled players. It's happening
- 6:08Speaker 3: at Fork of the South at the factory at Franklin
- 6:11Speaker 3: at 5 p.m. They normally have like a membership program
- 6:15Speaker 3: that they do. So if you really love Mahjong and
- 6:17Speaker 3: you'd like to do this and you like to play
- 6:19Speaker 3: against other people, they do have a membership program that
- 6:21Speaker 3: you can sign up for. But this specifically is for anyone.
- 6:24Speaker 2: That's very cool.
- 6:25Speaker 3: So it doesn't matter whether you're a member or not.
- 6:26Speaker 3: You can come on by. You can play Mahjong. Maybe
- 6:28Speaker 3: learn how to play Mahjong and get into it. It
- 6:31Speaker 3: seems to be popping up everywhere I look now.
- 6:34Speaker 2: So you're telling me that I'm a trendsetter?
- 6:36Speaker 3: You are not a trendsetter. Finger on the pulse. You
- 6:38Speaker 3: just happen to be able to play Mahjong. But it
- 6:42Speaker 3: is something that I'm seeing more and more just all
- 6:44Speaker 3: over the place. So this is a fun event for
- 6:46Speaker 3: you to go to.
- 6:47Speaker 2: My, you know, my wife. taught me mahjong and a
- 6:50Speaker 2: bunch of her friends were playing mahjong and stuff and
- 6:51Speaker 2: then i got into it i really do enjoy we
- 6:53Speaker 2: don't play as much these days as we used to
- 6:55Speaker 2: which is a bummer we should fix that but uh
- 6:57Speaker 2: don't be overwhelmed guys i know it sounds scary mahjong
- 7:00Speaker 2: it's like learning a different language but once you get
- 7:01Speaker 2: it you're gonna get it you're gonna have so much
- 7:03Speaker 2: fun uh that's my little tagline to ricky's it's happening
- 7:07Speaker 2: sunday in franklin.
- 7:08Speaker 3: Kevin's very excited about.
- 7:09Speaker 2: This i want everyone to play mahjong uh thank.
- 7:11Speaker 3: You everyone to be a part of it Three things
- 7:14Speaker 3: you need to know.
- 7:15Speaker 2: All right, let's go. We're a couple minutes away from
- 7:17Speaker 2: new music from Alex Warren. That's coming. But first, Ricky
- 7:19Speaker 2: Sanchez has three things you need to know presented by
- 7:21Speaker 2: Mark Spain Real Estate.
- 7:23Speaker 3: Zara Larson doesn't want to be in the Grammy category
- 7:25Speaker 3: for best new artist. And honestly, I respect this. She
- 7:29Speaker 3: had a very simple explanation as to why. She said, quote,
- 7:32Speaker 3: that would downplay the 13 years of me being an artist.
- 7:35Speaker 3: I'm not a new artist. She explained that this is
- 7:38Speaker 3: a conversation that she had with her previous label, and
- 7:40Speaker 3: it doesn't look like she's changing her mind anytime soon.
- 7:43Speaker 3: It makes sense. I feel like that category is named incorrectly.
- 7:46Speaker 1: I agree.
- 7:47Speaker 3: You ask me like. Best New Artist doesn't make sense
- 7:50Speaker 3: because there's a lot of artists, like she said, who
- 7:52Speaker 3: are in this for so long and then are nominated
- 7:55Speaker 3: for that category. And it makes us question what actually
- 7:58Speaker 3: is this category for every year? So good news for her, though.
- 8:01Speaker 3: She actually isn't eligible for Best New Artist for 2027
- 8:05Speaker 3: because her song Midnight Sun received a nomination for Best
- 8:08Speaker 3: Dance Pop Recording at the 2026 Grammy Awards. And even
- 8:12Speaker 3: better news for her, her Midnight Sun album is eligible
- 8:14Speaker 3: for consideration for the 2027 Grammys and nominations will be
- 8:18Speaker 3: announced in November. So we'll see if she has any.
- 8:20Speaker 1: Okay, cool.
- 8:20Speaker 2: And early prediction, I think the Rolling Stones are going
- 8:22Speaker 2: to get Best New Artist.
- 8:23Speaker 3: Best New Artist? Hey, apparently anybody can do it unless,
- 8:28Speaker 3: I mean, I'm sure they've won a Grammy before.
- 8:30Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, probably.
- 8:31Speaker 3: That's the only time that you can't.
- 8:32Speaker 1: So weird.
- 8:33Speaker 3: Like, it doesn't make sense. The Grand Ole Opry is
- 8:35Speaker 3: going to dedicate Saturday night's show to Dolly Parton. Performers
- 8:39Speaker 3: include Carly Pierce, who Dolly invited to join the Opry
- 8:42Speaker 3: back in 2021, as well as Channing Wilson, Molly Tuttle
- 8:45Speaker 3: and more. Tickets to attend in person are available on
- 8:49Speaker 3: the Opry's website. This is a great way to honor Dolly. Obviously,
- 8:52Speaker 3: the Opry meant a lot to her and she meant
- 8:56Speaker 3: a lot to the Opry, you know, so great way
- 8:58Speaker 3: to honor her. And a new Uber feature lets parents
- 9:02Speaker 3: watch teen rides in real time. So this is a
- 9:05Speaker 3: new safety feature. They're obviously really beefing up their safety
- 9:08Speaker 3: features when it comes to teens. This is an option
- 9:10Speaker 3: for accounts for riders ages 13 to 17. You can
- 9:15Speaker 3: basically see exactly what's going on inside the car. And
- 9:18Speaker 3: both the teen and the driver are both notified whenever
- 9:22Speaker 3: a parent starts watching. So they will know that the
- 9:24Speaker 3: parent is watching. Might make your teen feel a little
- 9:27Speaker 3: more safe in the car with the driver. The video
- 9:30Speaker 3: is then encrypted. It doesn't appear anywhere else. The only
- 9:33Speaker 3: time that they would have to replay it is if
- 9:35Speaker 3: there is a safety incident that's reported. Feature is being
- 9:38Speaker 3: tested in nine U.S. markets right now with a nationwide
- 9:41Speaker 3: rollout plan. that they have coming up in a few weeks.
- 9:45Speaker 3: I'm Ricky Sanchez, and those are the three things you
- 9:46Speaker 3: need to know.
- 9:47Speaker 2: Thank you very much, Ricky. Today, August 28th, is record
- 9:50Speaker 2: release day for our friend Alex Warren, and this is
- 9:53Speaker 2: brand new from him. His new album, Wild Child, is out.
- 9:56Speaker 2: This is Emerald Eyes. That's the name of the song.
- 9:59Speaker 2: First time hearing this world premiere. New Music Friday, on
- 10:01Speaker 2: the river. Class is in session.
- 10:09Speaker 1: Zach's Facts, brought to you by Mark Spain Real Estate.
- 10:12Speaker 3: On 107.5 The River.
- 10:13Speaker 2: Zach is out again today, so I've got your fact.
- 10:16Speaker 2: And Ricky, did you know that running a marathon can
- 10:19Speaker 2: make you shorter?
- 10:21Speaker 3: I did not know that.
- 10:22Speaker 2: How does that work? It can temporarily shrink you by
- 10:25Speaker 2: up to half an inch. The compression on your spinal
- 10:27Speaker 2: discs during the race caused the slight height loss. So
- 10:31Speaker 2: you're half an inch shorter when you're done.
- 10:33Speaker 3: Well, thank God I do not like to run.
- 10:35Speaker 2: Yeah, you would disappear.
- 10:36Speaker 3: I wouldn't, yeah.
- 10:37Speaker 2: You'd be gone. Ricky's a half an inch tall to
- 10:40Speaker 2: begin with.
- 10:40Speaker 1: I'm like 4'11.
- 10:42Speaker 2: But what they say with rest and proper hydration, it'll
- 10:45Speaker 2: get resolved within 24 hours and you'll spring back to
- 10:47Speaker 2: your original shape. So weird. There's your fact of the day. Thanks, Kev.
- 10:51Speaker 1: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 10:54Speaker 2: On 107.5 The River. Is an ice cream sandwich a sandwich?
- 10:58Speaker 2: That's our question for you. That's a real question that
- 11:00Speaker 2: we're actually asking.
- 11:01Speaker 3: It's real because apparently some people think it is a sandwich.
- 11:05Speaker 2: We saw this list of like every state's favorite sandwich.
- 11:07Speaker 2: And Delaware and Rhode Island call an ice cream sandwich
- 11:11Speaker 2: their favorite sandwich. Not a BLT, not a grilled cheese,
- 11:14Speaker 2: an ice cream sandwich.
- 11:16Speaker 3: Not a peanut butter and jelly, nothing. An ice cream sandwich.
- 11:19Speaker 3: Kind of insane. If you believe an ice cream sandwich
- 11:22Speaker 3: is a real sandwich, 615-737-9107. And if you don't believe
- 11:24Speaker 3: it is, we want to hear from you as well.
- 11:29Speaker 1: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 11:31Speaker 3: On 107.5 The River. We've learned today that ice cream
- 11:36Speaker 3: sandwiches are apparently sandwiches to some people. And that's thrown
- 11:40Speaker 3: us for a loop here in the 107.5 The River studio.
- 11:43Speaker 3: Laura in Hendersonville, do you believe an ice cream sandwich
- 11:46Speaker 3: can be considered a sandwich?
- 11:48Speaker 4: Now, okay, so this is the thing. Technically, yes. Now,
- 11:51Speaker 4: would I actually eat it as in place of a sandwich?
- 11:54Speaker 1: No.
- 11:55Speaker 3: Okay, okay.
- 11:56Speaker 4: Technically, it's between two pieces of some type of carb-containing
- 12:02Speaker 4: bread type thing, right? It's like a cookie. And there's
- 12:06Speaker 4: something between it. That's all it takes. Sandwich. Literally sandwiched
- 12:09Speaker 4: between something.
- 12:10Speaker 3: So I will say that, Laura, you're on to something
- 12:12Speaker 3: here because I looked it up and the literal culinary
- 12:15Speaker 3: definition of a sandwich is a filling place between two
- 12:19Speaker 3: outer layers. It doesn't even have to be a cookie
- 12:22Speaker 3: or bread or anything like that. It's just got to
- 12:24Speaker 3: be something that's filled with two outer layers.
- 12:27Speaker 2: Let me ask you both a question then. Is a
- 12:29Speaker 2: hot dog a sandwich? Because it is technically like what
- 12:31Speaker 2: you said, but the bun is one thing.
- 12:33Speaker 3: Apparently, to this culinary definition, it is.
- 12:36Speaker 4: If you hold it the other way, like sideways, it is.
- 12:41Speaker 1: Laura, I love that.
- 12:42Speaker 2: If you hold it sideways, it is. That is a
- 12:45Speaker 2: good visual. So a taco is then as well?
- 12:48Speaker 4: I'm going to see if my kids think so. Is
- 12:50Speaker 4: a taco one?
- 12:51Speaker 1: Yes.
- 12:51Speaker 4: I don't like tacos, so I don't know.
- 12:53Speaker 1: Okay.
- 12:54Speaker 3: Your kid doesn't like tacos. Are you raising a serial killer?
- 12:58Speaker 3: What's happening here, Laura?
- 13:00Speaker 4: Maybe.
- 13:02Speaker 1: My God.
- 13:02Speaker 4: He's very picky.
- 13:04Speaker 3: Well, Laura, thank you so much. And thank you to
- 13:06Speaker 3: the kiddos in the back as well for, you know,
- 13:09Speaker 3: giving us some idea of what people are thinking when it.
- 13:11Speaker 2: Comes to this.
- 13:12Speaker 4: Oh, no problem. I love these questions, and y'all do.
- 13:15Speaker 1: Oh, good.
- 13:15Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 13:15Speaker 2: I like that you heard it and thought, I have
- 13:17Speaker 2: to call for that. You have a great day. We
- 13:19Speaker 2: appreciate you being here.
- 13:20Speaker 1: Thanks.
- 13:20Speaker 3: You too. Bye.
- 13:22Speaker 2: I just, I don't think it should be eligible for
- 13:24Speaker 2: a list of favorite sandwiches.
- 13:26Speaker 3: Okay, that's fair. Because obviously, if you're thinking about a sandwich,
- 13:30Speaker 3: you're not thinking about that right off the bat. It's
- 13:33Speaker 3: weird when dessert tries to imitate other food groups. Do
- 13:36Speaker 3: you know what I mean? Like, if you make... an
- 13:39Speaker 3: ice cream like they make these crazy ice creams these
- 13:42Speaker 3: outer layers and you make it into a pizza shape
- 13:45Speaker 3: or a cake into a pizza shape and make it
- 13:47Speaker 3: look like pizza it's not pizza it's still cake if.
- 13:49Speaker 2: You have anything to add here to this uh question
- 13:51Speaker 2: this debate 615-737-9107 you know what my favorite sandwich is
- 13:55Speaker 2: ricky what a knuckle.
- 13:57Speaker 3: Sandwich wow that was that was something kevin scary I
- 14:02Speaker 3: am shaking in my boots over here.
- 14:04Speaker 1: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 14:05Speaker 3: We're about to get into the game of the day
- 14:07Speaker 3: for tickets to see Shaboosie at Ascend Amphitheater on September 18th.
- 14:11Speaker 3: The name of the game is Title Fight.
- 14:13Speaker 2: We've been playing all week long. This is the last
- 14:16Speaker 2: round of Title Fight. We'll say good morning first of
- 14:18Speaker 2: all to Whitney in Mount Juliet.
- 14:20Speaker 1: Hello, Whitney.
- 14:21Speaker 4: Hi.
- 14:22Speaker 2: Hi, how you doing? How you feeling this morning?
- 14:24Speaker 4: Feeling good.
- 14:25Speaker 2: Okay, good. I know this might be a little intimidating here,
- 14:27Speaker 2: but your opponent is Aura in Nashville. And it sounds
- 14:30Speaker 2: like she has 300 children with her. So hello, Ora.
- 14:36Speaker 1: Good morning.
- 14:36Speaker 2: Good morning. How many kids do you have there?
- 14:39Speaker 4: Well, we have three, four total, but three going to school.
- 14:42Speaker 2: And they're all very excited. You guys excited?
- 14:45Speaker 1: Yes, we have been playing along all week.
- 14:47Speaker 3: I love that so much. That makes my heart so warm.
- 14:50Speaker 2: Well, now you're in the hot seat. So you guys
- 14:52Speaker 2: know how it works. Whitney, your name is your buzzer.
- 14:55Speaker 2: So if you know the artist I'm talking about, once
- 14:57Speaker 2: I start giving song titles, you shout out your name
- 14:59Speaker 2: to buzz in or you shout out Aura, okay? All right.
- 15:04Speaker 2: The game starts right now. Last Friday night.
- 15:11Speaker 1: Roar. Whitney. Whitney.
- 15:14Speaker 4: Katy Perry.
- 15:16Speaker 3: Okay, a point for Whitney.
- 15:18Speaker 2: Two song titles in. And that was themed, by the way,
- 15:21Speaker 2: because I said last Friday night, you know, Friday, today's Friday.
- 15:24Speaker 3: Okay, great, Kevin. Let's do the next round.
- 15:28Speaker 2: I feel it coming. Dancing in the flames. Can't feel
- 15:34Speaker 2: my face. Save your tears. Whitney.
- 15:38Speaker 1: Whitney.
- 15:39Speaker 4: Oh, The Weeknd.
- 15:41Speaker 2: That is The Weeknd.
- 15:44Speaker 3: Oh. Congrats, Whitney.
- 15:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:47Speaker 3: You have won tickets to see Shaboosie at Ascend Amphitheater. Ora,
- 15:51Speaker 3: we are so sorry that you didn't win today.
- 15:55Speaker 4: Congratulations. We at least got through and at least tried.
- 15:58Speaker 1: Thank y'all.
- 15:59Speaker 2: Before you guys go, do you want to give shout- Hi, guys.
- 16:02Speaker 2: Do you want to give shout-outs to the kids, get
- 16:04Speaker 2: their names out there?
- 16:05Speaker 4: Yeah, I have Mia, Rome, Milo, and Montana with me
- 16:09Speaker 4: this morning.
- 16:09Speaker 2: So cute.
- 16:10Speaker 3: We hope you guys have a great day at school.
- 16:12Speaker 3: For the ones that are going to school and everybody
- 16:14Speaker 3: else in the car, have an amazing day. Thank you
- 16:16Speaker 3: so much for hanging out with us.
- 16:17Speaker 2: We love that you.
- 16:18Speaker 3: Play the game together. Thank you so much. Y'all have
- 16:21Speaker 3: a good one.
- 16:21Speaker 1: You too.
- 16:22Speaker 2: And now, Whitney, we say congratulations to you. Way to go.
- 16:28Speaker 2: Thank you. You were quick. Nice job. You're going to
- 16:30Speaker 2: see Shaboosie. We're going to put you on hold to
- 16:32Speaker 2: get all your information, okay?
- 16:34Speaker 4: Okay, thanks, guys.
- 16:35Speaker 2: Thank you. The weekend, that was also themed, Ricky. That
- 16:37Speaker 2: was part of the theme as well.
- 16:39Speaker 3: You are just the dorkiest person I've ever met in
- 16:42Speaker 3: my life. Three things you need to know.
- 16:44Speaker 1: Morning, happy Friday, friends. We made it.
- 16:46Speaker 2: It's just past 8 o'clock. Ricky Sanchez has those three
- 16:48Speaker 2: things presented by Mark Spain Real Estate.
- 16:51Speaker 3: TV show Furious has been renewed for season two at
- 16:54Speaker 3: Hulu ahead of the season finale. I am so pumped
- 16:59Speaker 3: about this.
- 17:00Speaker 1: Yeah, you are.
- 17:00Speaker 3: The show's amazing. Emmy Rossum is just absolutely phenomenal. Highly
- 17:04Speaker 3: recommend that you watch it. If you haven't yet, if
- 17:06Speaker 3: you have a chance to watch it before the season finale.
- 17:09Speaker 3: which airs on Monday, the 31st, so this upcoming Monday.
- 17:12Speaker 3: Do it this weekend. Binge watch it. It's that good.
- 17:16Speaker 3: It's a little messed up, so if you don't like
- 17:17Speaker 3: things that are deep and messed up, maybe don't watch it.
- 17:21Speaker 3: But if you do like those kinds of things, you've
- 17:23Speaker 3: got to watch it. It's been green light for another season.
- 17:26Speaker 3: We don't have a timeline, though, on when they're going
- 17:28Speaker 3: to start shooting or when it would launch. This all
- 17:31Speaker 3: obviously happened very fast because the first episode of this
- 17:34Speaker 3: came out July 27th. So this is a really quick
- 17:38Speaker 3: turnaround time that all this stuff is happening. So I
- 17:40Speaker 3: will keep you updated on when we can expect that.
- 17:43Speaker 3: A bulk item drop-off event is happening this Saturday, so
- 17:46Speaker 3: tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. You can stop
- 17:49Speaker 3: by Compton's Foodland on Smith Springs Road. So you can
- 17:54Speaker 3: donate usable items, but you can also dispose of bulk items,
- 17:58Speaker 3: recycle tires and scrap metal, and you can shred up
- 18:00Speaker 3: to five boxes of documents. a great way to kind of,
- 18:04Speaker 3: you know, do the spring cleaning that you've been putting
- 18:06Speaker 3: off and putting off and putting off for so long.
- 18:08Speaker 2: Now that it's just about the fall.
- 18:10Speaker 1: Yep.
- 18:10Speaker 2: Perfect time for spring cleaning.
- 18:12Speaker 3: A new long-term study may have the answer for how
- 18:15Speaker 3: much social media is just too much social media, okay?
- 18:19Speaker 3: Researchers tracked people over 11 years and found that about
- 18:22Speaker 3: 150 minutes of social media per day, which is Roughly
- 18:26Speaker 3: two and a half hours is the tipping point. OK,
- 18:29Speaker 3: anything beyond that showed users were more likely to report
- 18:32Speaker 3: declines in medical well-being. They were just mentally like not
- 18:37Speaker 3: in the right space. More moderate use wasn't linked to
- 18:41Speaker 3: the same negative effects. So try to, you know, limit
- 18:44Speaker 3: the amount that you use. It just kind of proves
- 18:46Speaker 3: that it's not necessarily social media itself. that may be
- 18:49Speaker 3: the big problem, but how much time we are spending
- 18:53Speaker 3: on social media. We are basically letting it just take
- 18:56Speaker 3: over our lives and that's where it's a problem. Experts
- 18:58Speaker 3: say that excessive scrolling can contribute to anxiety, depression, information overload,
- 19:03Speaker 3: and FOMO, especially when it becomes like a compulsive thing
- 19:06Speaker 3: that you have to do. I'm Ricky Sanchez, and those
- 19:09Speaker 3: are the three things you need to know.
- 19:10Speaker 2: I think about it daily. I really think about it daily. Like,
- 19:13Speaker 2: what am I even giving this time to? I know.
- 19:15Speaker 2: It's just you're throwing away these minutes, these hours.
- 19:18Speaker 3: And two and a half hours a day is a
- 19:19Speaker 3: long time.
- 19:21Speaker 2: Oh, so depressing. But I'm going to learn from that.
- 19:23Speaker 2: I'm going to get better. We're all going to do
- 19:24Speaker 2: better here. Thank you.
- 19:25Speaker 1: Proud of you, Kev. Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 19:28Speaker 2: It's time for the leftovers here. It's Ricky, Zach, and
- 19:30Speaker 2: Mano in the morning on the river. We do this
- 19:32Speaker 2: on Fridays. We go around. We each get 30 seconds
- 19:35Speaker 2: to present something we just didn't have time for this week.
- 19:37Speaker 2: Zach is out. It's just Ricky and myself. And you're
- 19:41Speaker 2: going to go first, Rick. You always go first. But
- 19:43Speaker 2: yours is like so real and serious and deep. And
- 19:45Speaker 2: mine is so silly today.
- 19:47Speaker 3: You know what? We're going to get a little serious
- 19:48Speaker 3: and then we're going to laugh. OK, because I'm going
- 19:50Speaker 3: to tell you some places here in Nashville that you
- 19:52Speaker 3: can go to celebrate Dolly Parton. A lot of places
- 19:56Speaker 3: are coming together to do stuff. So Gramps Garage Bar,
- 19:58Speaker 3: they're doing a special Dolly Parton bingo night. This is
- 20:01Speaker 3: actually going to be this upcoming Monday, so not this weekend,
- 20:03Speaker 3: but on Monday.
- 20:04Speaker 4: Okay.
- 20:04Speaker 3: You'll have a chance to win tickets to Dollywood if
- 20:06Speaker 3: you go. If you bring kids books, you'll get a
- 20:09Speaker 3: special prize, and a portion of the sales are going
- 20:12Speaker 3: to go to Dolly's Imagination Library, which is just absolutely amazing.
- 20:15Speaker 1: Love that.
- 20:16Speaker 3: Koa Rooftop Bar, they have a specialty drink called the
- 20:19Speaker 3: Dolly Rita. It looks so cute. It's a limited time offering, okay?
- 20:23Speaker 3: It's strawberry and coconut swirl soft serve margarita.
- 20:27Speaker 1: Ooh.
- 20:27Speaker 3: How amazing does that sound? I think Dolly would love that, honestly.
- 20:30Speaker 3: And it looks so pretty. You can get it starting
- 20:33Speaker 3: this Saturday. They're going to have it through September 6th.
- 20:36Speaker 3: 20% of every Dolly Rita is going to go to
- 20:39Speaker 3: Dolly Parton's Imagination Library as well. And Ugly Bagel, they're
- 20:43Speaker 3: bringing back their Dolly Bagel today with all sales benefiting
- 20:47Speaker 3: Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. And the bagel is going to
- 20:50Speaker 3: be available until September 4th for you to check out.
- 20:53Speaker 3: So those are just a few ways that, you know,
- 20:55Speaker 3: the places here around Nashville that are all just coming
- 20:58Speaker 3: together for Dolly for a good cause. And I love
- 21:01Speaker 3: that everybody wants to benefit her imagination library. It's just
- 21:04Speaker 3: such an important, important program and important cause to be
- 21:07Speaker 3: a part of. And as more and more places are
- 21:09Speaker 3: doing these things, we will share them on our Instagram
- 21:12Speaker 3: at 107.5 The River.
- 21:14Speaker 2: Good call. Now, on to my ridiculous leftover topic here.
- 21:18Speaker 2: That was so sweet, Ricky. All these places coming together
- 21:20Speaker 2: for Dolly. Mine is about... a fart corner there is
- 21:23Speaker 2: a teacher her name is candy sydney browning she's 36
- 21:26Speaker 2: she's a second grade teacher in atlanta she's kind of
- 21:29Speaker 2: going viral right now because she set up a designated
- 21:31Speaker 2: spot in her classroom for kids to go past gas
- 21:35Speaker 2: uh she goes at the gas station this little corner
- 21:37Speaker 2: over here it's got air freshener sprays and everything uh
- 21:40Speaker 2: she said that it's uh you know they're just normalizing
- 21:43Speaker 2: body functions without disturbing the classroom it's a very normal
- 21:46Speaker 2: thing everybody.
- 21:47Speaker 3: Does it do Everybody does do it, but kids are
- 21:49Speaker 3: going to do it without even like trying to not
- 21:52Speaker 3: do it.
- 21:52Speaker 2: And then it can be very distracting because kids will
- 21:54Speaker 2: start to, you know, they'll laugh, they'll point fingers. They'll
- 21:56Speaker 2: be like, you did it.
- 21:57Speaker 1: No, you did it.
- 21:58Speaker 2: And then they get embarrassed and they're trying to, it's like,
- 22:00Speaker 2: it can be very disruptive for the class. So this
- 22:02Speaker 2: is just, you get up, you quietly go walk over here.
- 22:04Speaker 2: You don't have to leave the classroom. You just, you know,
- 22:06Speaker 2: the learning doesn't stop. The lesson doesn't stop. And it's
- 22:10Speaker 2: supposed to be less of a distraction and less. I
- 22:13Speaker 2: know there are parents out there that hate this. The
- 22:15Speaker 2: internet is sort of divided about it. I kind of
- 22:17Speaker 2: think it's a good idea.
- 22:18Speaker 3: There's just something about a teacher named Browning having a
- 22:22Speaker 3: fart corner that really just.
- 22:23Speaker 2: It brings me a lot of joy, Kevin.
- 22:24Speaker 3: It brings me a lot of joy.
- 22:25Speaker 2: I didn't even think about that, but thank you, Ricky.
- 22:28Speaker 2: Thank you for adding that element. That concludes The Leftovers.
- 22:31Speaker 1: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning. On 107.5 The River.
- 22:34Speaker 3: You know when something happens... That makes you laugh. And
- 22:38Speaker 3: then that laugh turns into nonstop laugh. And you just
- 22:42Speaker 3: can't control it. And your whole body is consumed and
- 22:46Speaker 3: overtaken by laughter. That's what today's Daily Double Tap is
- 22:49Speaker 3: on 107.5 The River. This weatherman, he just got a
- 22:53Speaker 3: terrible case of the giggles today. And he could not
- 22:57Speaker 3: control it. And he sounds insane while he's laughing.
- 23:00Speaker 2: I guess the story is there was some sort of
- 23:02Speaker 2: prank happening in the studio off camera. And he, I mean,
- 23:06Speaker 2: I think he was the one that tried to pull
- 23:08Speaker 2: the prank, but he's the one that in the end
- 23:09Speaker 2: got pranked because this happened and he just could not
- 23:12Speaker 2: control himself.
- 23:12Speaker 1: Here we go.
- 23:14Speaker 2: A couple of breaks and clouds are possible into the afternoon.
- 23:17Speaker 3: But overall, I'm so sorry.
- 23:20Speaker 2: Overall, a cloudier, damp, somewhat wet day out there.
- 23:24Speaker 3: A few bands of storms in some spots. We got
- 23:29Speaker 3: to finish up this weather right now. I'm so sorry.
- 23:34Speaker 3: I'm so sorry.
- 23:37Speaker 1: I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry.
- 23:41Speaker 2: I'm so sorry.
- 23:44Speaker 1: I've never had this happen before.
- 23:47Speaker 3: Oh, geez.
- 23:49Speaker 2: All right, let me get it together real quick.
- 23:53Speaker 1: I'm so sorry. Two points.
- 23:58Speaker 2: We've fallen off. I'm just going to jump in and
- 24:01Speaker 2: say this goes on for so long. I'm going to
- 24:04Speaker 2: bring it back in a second. He's still going. But
- 24:06Speaker 2: you can tell he's trying so hard to get it together,
- 24:08Speaker 2: and he just can't. Jason Lewis, for linearist, goes to spots.
- 24:16Speaker 2: Different story, a little cooler.
- 24:19Speaker 3: Lord of the 70s, Josh, please take it.
- 24:22Speaker 2: Please take it. What did take the co-host so long
- 24:28Speaker 2: to just jump in and save him?
- 24:30Speaker 1: Well, because you know in those.
- 24:31Speaker 3: Moments, you're also laughing. So there's no help to see.
- 24:36Speaker 3: It's happened to us before. We're like off air. We're
- 24:39Speaker 3: laughing about something. It's mainly Zach and I. And then
- 24:43Speaker 3: I can't stop. And then it makes it worse because
- 24:46Speaker 3: I know I have to stop so that I can't stop.
- 24:48Speaker 3: And then he's egging me on. And then you're like,
- 24:51Speaker 3: what's even happening? And then you start laughing because nobody
- 24:54Speaker 3: can control it. It's so hard when that happens.
- 24:57Speaker 2: Oh, my God. It's the absolute best, though. And that's
- 24:59Speaker 2: today's Daily Double Dab. I love that video so much.
- 25:02Speaker 2: It's so good.
- 25:03Speaker 1: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning. On 107.5 The River.
