- 0:03Speaker 1: This is a podcast called twenty five whist talking full
- 0:08Speaker 1: and they were the whistle. So yes, Bud, what didn't
- 0:12Speaker 1: you expect? It's a podcast called Whistles. This is the whistle.
- 0:22Speaker 1: It's actually a whistle. Forty something, Kevin, what do you
- 0:26Speaker 1: think it is? We had signed a deal to do
- 0:32Speaker 1: twenty five episodes and so we called it twenty five
- 0:35Speaker 1: whistles because we were gonna start and end with a whistle.
- 0:39Speaker 1: Let me, let me go and start the show. Now,
- 0:42Speaker 1: let the show begin. That's a good one. And we
- 0:45Speaker 1: didn't go out and pursue this show, but we love
- 0:48Speaker 1: sports and hanging out with their buds and talking about
- 0:51Speaker 1: sports and talking about sports with their buds and hanging
- 0:54Speaker 1: out and Bud, and so we did it, and we're
- 0:57Speaker 1: very proud of how it's grown, and thank you for
- 0:59Speaker 1: allowing us to do. That. Is presented by DraftKings Sports Book,
- 1:01Speaker 1: an official sports betting partner of the NFL. Download the
- 1:04Speaker 1: Draft Kings app and use the code Bobby Sports to
- 1:06Speaker 1: get in on the action. So whistles is turned into
- 1:08Speaker 1: forty two whistles. That you know why that is because
- 1:11Speaker 1: we go hard and we work and we show up.
- 1:14Speaker 1: We're consistent We're not always good, but we do show
- 1:17Speaker 1: up right everybody. Yes, Yes, there's a lot to talk about.
- 1:22Speaker 1: We're gonna go around the room in this. I mean
- 1:25Speaker 1: it's feel sting. You get an emotional man, emotional. What's
- 1:32Speaker 1: been the highlight of all that we've done here? Whistles,
- 1:38Speaker 1: It's the war, it's the warm up question basically calistinics, Eddie,
- 1:46Speaker 1: go ahead, it's easy man, going to Dallas and flying
- 1:49Speaker 1: to the game with Jerry Jones and watching the entire
- 1:52Speaker 1: game going on the sideline on the field. I mean,
- 1:55Speaker 1: just a highlight of my life that I'll never forget. Absolutely, goly,
- 1:59Speaker 1: absolutely and something. Times things go, they go so fast,
- 2:03Speaker 1: not all good things, but I mean I probably work.
- 2:08Speaker 1: I won't say too much, but I probably go too
- 2:11Speaker 1: often to where I can't slow down sometimes and respect
- 2:14Speaker 1: and appreciate the cool things that we've been able to do.
- 2:17Speaker 1: And I think that's one of those like this summer,
- 2:20Speaker 1: when I get a couple of weeks and just kind
- 2:22Speaker 1: of look back, I'm gonna go, Man, what a moment,
- 2:26Speaker 1: what a time? How cool was that to be able
- 2:28Speaker 1: to do? And honest to god, how cool was it
- 2:30Speaker 1: to say two of my best friends who love the
- 2:32Speaker 1: Cowboys aside from us just getting to do this is
- 2:35Speaker 1: like buddies and friends. And the real value for me
- 2:39Speaker 1: in what I've been able to do in my career
- 2:42Speaker 1: is exactly that. Yeah, is it cool to do that?
- 2:45Speaker 1: Absolutely one of the coolest things ever. But is it's
- 2:47Speaker 1: the greatest. The best part about it is Eddie and
- 2:51Speaker 1: Mike love the Cowboys so much and they got to
- 2:53Speaker 1: do something that they thought they probably never ever ever
- 2:55Speaker 1: get to do. I know what you're saying, because when
- 2:57Speaker 1: I go with you to Arkansas game, it's really like
- 3:00Speaker 1: you being fourteen. It's heaven. I get to go into
- 3:05Speaker 1: places and rooms and they give me three shoes and
- 3:10Speaker 1: it's all. I mean, yeah, and it sounds trivial, but
- 3:11Speaker 1: it is like the things that when we were kids
- 3:14Speaker 1: that we felt was the coolest. If that's all the
- 3:17Speaker 1: cool stuff for me now, it's one being able to
- 3:20Speaker 1: do the stuff that I love to do when I
- 3:21Speaker 1: was a kid, meet those people, take my friends and
- 3:23Speaker 1: do stuff that they always wanted to do as kids,
- 3:25Speaker 1: and then too. I guess number three if I learned
- 3:27Speaker 1: that account number three is like being able to do
- 3:29Speaker 1: stuff for people that I was a kid with I'm
- 3:33Speaker 1: a family and a sister like to take care of her.
- 3:36Speaker 1: That's awesome. And that wasn't really meant to be what
- 3:38Speaker 1: this is. But when you said that, I'm like, yeah,
- 3:40Speaker 1: that was special. It's really cool, man. When it was
- 3:42Speaker 1: really cool, but it was like special too. It was
- 3:44Speaker 1: also like the pebble beach thing that we did. It
- 3:46Speaker 1: was so I get to go do it. I don't
- 3:48Speaker 1: even go to take a caddy. Obviously had the first
- 3:50Speaker 1: person on a call come caddy for me. But the
- 3:52Speaker 1: whole point, the whole time, it's like, man, surely we're
- 3:54Speaker 1: a fair way to get him to play. He play
- 3:56Speaker 1: the whole time. It was the coolest thing to play.
- 3:57Speaker 1: Got to my best friend just play golf at these
- 4:00Speaker 1: courses like that. That's been the real people said, like,
- 4:04Speaker 1: what's the best part about any sort of success? Um,
- 4:08Speaker 1: that's it. And I have a nice car. That's good.
- 4:14Speaker 1: That's pretty good because I didn't always to be embarrassed
- 4:17Speaker 1: of I've been dropped off in a car, Kevin, your favorite?
- 4:20Speaker 1: For me, overall, it would just be the interviews, and
- 4:22Speaker 1: there's a few of them. We've had such a range
- 4:25Speaker 1: of coaches to personalities and there's some guys, you know,
- 4:28Speaker 1: like a rich eyes and are calling cowards that I've
- 4:30Speaker 1: looked up to for years in this industry, in the
- 4:32Speaker 1: sports industry, and I'm like, holy crap, these guys are
- 4:34Speaker 1: on our show talking to you and like giving insight
- 4:36Speaker 1: on the industry and talking about their life and their
- 4:38Speaker 1: journey and all that. I thought those were my favorite
- 4:40Speaker 1: part of the entire um season. Mike, Well, since any
- 4:44Speaker 1: take the Cowboys. One my other cool experiences. Whenever we
- 4:47Speaker 1: had Cowherd on and working tech on the phone with
- 4:51Speaker 1: him getting the zooms interview set up. I'm talking to
- 4:54Speaker 1: Colin Cowherd on the phone going through his zoom. He's like,
- 4:56Speaker 1: let's figure this thing. It wasn't a producer. It was
- 4:58Speaker 1: literally calling him, Mike going why does this work? I
- 5:00Speaker 1: don't know what? Can you hear me? Yeah, it's cool
- 5:03Speaker 1: to like hear that human part of him, Adam Man,
- 5:06Speaker 1: There's been a lot I have emailed a lot of
- 5:09Speaker 1: athletic directors. This fault never never emailed an athletic director.
- 5:13Speaker 1: That was fun. But I think the Dan Patrick interview,
- 5:16Speaker 1: I think was probably my favorite moment in the whole
- 5:19Speaker 1: In the whole season, I really enjoyed just hearing him
- 5:22Speaker 1: talk even like year back and forth with your admiration
- 5:25Speaker 1: for what he does, and then it felt like a
- 5:27Speaker 1: really genuine conversation from a dude who really knows what
- 5:30Speaker 1: he's doing. Is a legend. It was awesome. I loved
- 5:32Speaker 1: it too. I think for me, the best part about
- 5:34Speaker 1: is been people agreeing to come on the show without
- 5:37Speaker 1: having to beat him up, because who knows on our show,
- 5:42Speaker 1: I can get people to come on the on the
- 5:43Speaker 1: Bibo Show because it's like we talked five million people
- 5:45Speaker 1: a day in our podcast is fifteen million a month,
- 5:48Speaker 1: So of course most people are gonna say yes because
- 5:51Speaker 1: they can use the promotion or use the relationship. But
- 5:53Speaker 1: on this who knows. But the fact that we're able
- 5:56Speaker 1: to get guests except for our coaches game, which we
- 5:59Speaker 1: tried in the middle of the season, but we got
- 6:01Speaker 1: great guests and they said yes, we couldn't believe it.
- 6:04Speaker 1: So that was really cool and gave some confidence and
- 6:07Speaker 1: just it's been it's been a heck of a run.
- 6:09Speaker 1: It's been a heck of a run. So h you
- 6:12Speaker 1: should applaud yourself a nice job. Whistle there it is, hey,
- 6:17Speaker 1: and that's it. This week, everybody, we'll see it all
- 6:20Speaker 1: right next year, Okay, let's go over to the Tittle
- 6:26Speaker 1: Tattle Tattle is Aaron Rodgers going on a four day
- 6:37Speaker 1: darkness retreat. The most Aaron Rodgers thing you've ever heard.
- 6:40Speaker 1: I love it. It is the most Aaron Rodgers thing
- 6:42Speaker 1: I've ever heard. It's more than any other Aaron Rodgers
- 6:44Speaker 1: thing I've ever heard of, all the Aaron Rodgers things.
- 6:47Speaker 1: A darkness retreat. He goes in a room, he shuts
- 6:50Speaker 1: the door. It's dark. There's a like a little slid
- 6:53Speaker 1: sliding thing where they slide the food through. Like prison,
- 6:56Speaker 1: it's basically solitary confinement where he doesn't nothing. But well
- 7:00Speaker 1: they do. They have light and solitaire they do, yeah,
- 7:02Speaker 1: like the whole Yeah sometimes, but see, this is punishment
- 7:06Speaker 1: in prison. Why is he trying to do this? Like
- 7:09Speaker 1: what I believe he's doing is simplifying everything to focus.
- 7:15Speaker 1: You eliminate all of any external communication, any external noise, nuisance,
- 7:26Speaker 1: it's not there. It cannot affect you. Bro. You can
- 7:29Speaker 1: do that with light on, Like I don't have to
- 7:31Speaker 1: be in darkness, solitary like someone who's killed someone in prison?
- 7:36Speaker 1: But what about us? I agree because I think it's
- 7:38Speaker 1: awesome that he's doing it. I would never do it.
- 7:40Speaker 1: I love it. I just I can't get enough Aaron Rodgers,
- 7:43Speaker 1: even though I would never want to hang out with him.
- 7:46Speaker 1: But did you not talk to him in Pebble quickly? Briefly?
- 7:49Speaker 1: Did not? He was one of the only people that
- 7:52Speaker 1: I did not spend time with. He would There was
- 7:54Speaker 1: only one person there that was rude. It wasn't Aaron Rodgers,
- 7:59Speaker 1: but Aaron got there later. And then I just feel
- 8:03Speaker 1: like he was smart enough to not be around everybody
- 8:06Speaker 1: all the time because once media or people that weren't
- 8:11Speaker 1: playing were allowed in, I just feel like people would
- 8:13Speaker 1: have been up on him, going, what you gonna do, man,
- 8:15Speaker 1: you're gonna play? What's gonna take picture? Literal court? I
- 8:19Speaker 1: get why he wasn't readily available for hang I think
- 8:23Speaker 1: he maybe would have been if it wasn't hey, I'm
- 8:25Speaker 1: about to retire or not because anybody asks them. So
- 8:28Speaker 1: I think that the darkness, the four Days of Darkness,
- 8:31Speaker 1: is awesome. I think I like when people to do
- 8:34Speaker 1: silent like retreats. They go like a week and they
- 8:37Speaker 1: don't say anything. You know, it's all that, it's all eliminating,
- 8:40Speaker 1: even things that you're doing to focus on what you
- 8:44Speaker 1: should be thinking or how you should be living. And
- 8:47Speaker 1: Aaron Rodgers, he is consistent. That's the one thing you
- 8:51Speaker 1: can say about him. I don't care what kind of
- 8:52Speaker 1: person you are, like if I ain't dealing with you,
- 8:54Speaker 1: don't hurt animals, be good kids. But people ask me
- 8:58Speaker 1: a lot, like when you deal with celebrities. Is person nice?
- 9:00Speaker 1: Is the person not nice? Is this athlete? And I say,
- 9:03Speaker 1: I don't really care about nice and not nice. I
- 9:05Speaker 1: only care about consistency, because if I know they're either
- 9:08Speaker 1: super nice or there's nice but kind of shy. An
- 9:12Speaker 1: example would be Carrie Underwood. Carrie's nice, but Carrie it's
- 9:17Speaker 1: pretty quiet and shy until you can really make her
- 9:20Speaker 1: feel comfortable because I think she's under a spotlight every
- 9:22Speaker 1: where she goes, and she naturally is just not the
- 9:24Speaker 1: person is going to walk into a room and take
- 9:26Speaker 1: over the room. But I know her enough now and
- 9:28Speaker 1: she is consistently shy and quiet. But I know now
- 9:32Speaker 1: I can go in and like she, so she's consistent.
- 9:36Speaker 1: I don't need her to be life of the party.
- 9:38Speaker 1: I just need to consistently know who she is so
- 9:40Speaker 1: that way I can communicate with her. There are some
- 9:43Speaker 1: we'll just say, celebrities that I don't really like that much,
- 9:46Speaker 1: but I can do pretty good with them on the
- 9:48Speaker 1: air because they're consistent and I know exactly how we
- 9:50Speaker 1: can talk and make something that is fun for the
- 9:53Speaker 1: listener to here. It's compelling, and we're not gonna be
- 9:56Speaker 1: friends anyway. This show is it's not friendship World. Sometimes
- 9:59Speaker 1: it is, but um, but Aaron Rodgers is consistent, and
- 10:02Speaker 1: I like that He's consistent. Is he's weird alf and
- 10:06Speaker 1: let's go. I like it. I hope I becomes back
- 10:08Speaker 1: and plays again. I do. I like the drama with him. Yeah, yeah,
- 10:13Speaker 1: you don't. You don't know, I do. I just I
- 10:14Speaker 1: was just gonna say totally separate subject here, But I
- 10:17Speaker 1: don't think he'll retire the saving of the tom Brady retires,
- 10:19Speaker 1: I agree, because the Hall of Fame would be all
- 10:20Speaker 1: about Tom Brady exactly, and he does not want that.
- 10:23Speaker 1: That's a great point that I did not think about.
- 10:25Speaker 1: So kudos to you, and that's absolutely accurate. Unless he's
- 10:29Speaker 1: so Aaron Rodgers. There's that, so I like it. Let's
- 10:36Speaker 1: I hope he comes back, and I don't think he'll
- 10:39Speaker 1: play for Green Bay if he does come back. But
- 10:41Speaker 1: that's a bit. There's just some money moving that's got
- 10:43Speaker 1: to happen, some strategic money moving because they owe him
- 10:46Speaker 1: a lot of money. Yeah, okay, what else We'll speaking
- 10:49Speaker 1: to Tom Brady. Tom had Bill Belichick on his podcast
- 10:51Speaker 1: this week and he said that the Brady verse Belichick
- 10:53Speaker 1: narrative in New England completely false. Do you believe him? Yeah,
- 10:58Speaker 1: for the most part. I mean just with how humans
- 11:02Speaker 1: any any of us. We all have our different versions
- 11:05Speaker 1: of our relationships through the years, over time, and there
- 11:07Speaker 1: are probably times we have gotten along, grade gotten along good.
- 11:11Speaker 1: Now they spent a lot of time together, so over
- 11:16Speaker 1: the course of that human nature is you're just not
- 11:17Speaker 1: going to get along with some people. You're not gonna
- 11:19Speaker 1: get along with your wife sometimes much less you're a
- 11:22Speaker 1: coach who may have different philosophical decisions that your career
- 11:27Speaker 1: is based off of. Like he's telling you what you
- 11:29Speaker 1: need to do based on your career, but it also
- 11:31Speaker 1: affects his So do I think they ever had times
- 11:33Speaker 1: where it wasn't? Yes? Do I think there was really
- 11:35Speaker 1: this Britain? No? I don't. But did they ever not
- 11:38Speaker 1: get along? Of course there have been times Eddie and
- 11:41Speaker 1: I have gotten along. It's a bad fifteen minutes of
- 11:43Speaker 1: my life. But you know what, Yeah, this is solid
- 11:46Speaker 1: quarter hour of sadness. It's mostly because I was late. Yeah,
- 11:49Speaker 1: and I was like, dude, let's go. We were New Orleans, like,
- 11:51Speaker 1: just drive off of the value, always bring up New Orleans.
- 11:53Speaker 1: Because we left, Eddie did not come out of the hotel.
- 11:55Speaker 1: There we go. We had a Southwest flight, it was
- 11:58Speaker 1: ready to go. We were not close to the airport,
- 12:00Speaker 1: and I said, if you're not here in time, we're leaving.
- 12:02Speaker 1: We will leave you in New Orleans. He was not there.
- 12:04Speaker 1: We took off. Boys, we hit Bourbon hard than that
- 12:07Speaker 1: before we left. So I don't believe that that was
- 12:12Speaker 1: a constant part of their relationship or something that the
- 12:16Speaker 1: Patriots were trying to hide. By the way, I saw
- 12:17Speaker 1: Robert Kraft on the red carpet at the Grammys. Sure did.
- 12:22Speaker 1: I forgot to tell you, guys. I didn't really say
- 12:24Speaker 1: or talk with him. I just said hi as he
- 12:26Speaker 1: walked by. But did he say back, Yeah, he just
- 12:29Speaker 1: he nodded his head. Did he say he would let
- 12:31Speaker 1: us come to the owner's box next year? Whistles next year?
- 12:35Speaker 1: I did get that in Jerry, but I mean we
- 12:40Speaker 1: should we probably do that next year, like find another
- 12:43Speaker 1: one and just say Jerry let us. Yeah, that's that's it.
- 12:47Speaker 1: It's all president based. Everything is supreme port decisions, President base. Um.
- 12:52Speaker 1: I don't think it was Brady versus Belichick as a
- 12:56Speaker 1: constant me versus him struggle in the locker room. I
- 12:59Speaker 1: do think they probably issues at times, but we all
- 13:01Speaker 1: every it's human nature, all right, go ahead. Do you
- 13:04Speaker 1: think Russell Wilson will buy into Sean Payton's new culture
- 13:06Speaker 1: is saying that he will not allow Russell to have
- 13:08Speaker 1: his coaches and people in his building. I think it
- 13:12Speaker 1: has to. I think if Russ would have played better
- 13:14Speaker 1: this season, he could have not bought in a little more.
- 13:16Speaker 1: I think if Russ plays awesome next year, he can
- 13:19Speaker 1: not buy in a little more. I think your leverage
- 13:21Speaker 1: comes from your value. His value not the same as
- 13:25Speaker 1: what he's getting paid. His value not great right now.
- 13:30Speaker 1: I do think you have a pretty good year next year.
- 13:32Speaker 1: I do believe that he can still be a good quarterback.
- 13:34Speaker 1: I think he'd be a top fifteen quarterback. I mean
- 13:38Speaker 1: the Hackett year, not full year. The Hackett situation wasn't good.
- 13:44Speaker 1: For a lot of folks. It wasn't just Russ. There
- 13:46Speaker 1: were a lot of time managing. There are a lot
- 13:47Speaker 1: of consistent issues with that Denver offense. But yes, Russ
- 13:51Speaker 1: played terrible. Also, Russ was injured, and I don't want
- 13:54Speaker 1: to stick out for him because he has a dude.
- 13:57Speaker 1: But or at least it seems like that. It seems
- 13:59Speaker 1: like it's like that, because then that's sorted to get
- 14:01Speaker 1: highlighted all the weird things he does where you're like,
- 14:02Speaker 1: I wanna want to hang out with that guy, but
- 14:07Speaker 1: I think he will have to buy in. But the
- 14:10Speaker 1: more success you get, the more leverage you have. Where
- 14:13Speaker 1: are you working on this job when this show is
- 14:16Speaker 1: killing it and my contract comes up? Which happened a
- 14:19Speaker 1: few years ago, my contracts coming up now it is
- 14:21Speaker 1: a situation, uh that were we we worked through. I
- 14:24Speaker 1: was able to ask for things in my last deal
- 14:26Speaker 1: that I wasn't able to ask the deal before because
- 14:27Speaker 1: the show had grown to new levels. Now, if that
- 14:30Speaker 1: were the case and it hadn't, we'd regressed, or we
- 14:32Speaker 1: were the same, or or I can't. It's just all
- 14:35Speaker 1: about right place, right time. Is that the right value?
- 14:40Speaker 1: I got a parking spot here in this garage, I'm
- 14:42Speaker 1: basically the only one. Yeah, And you know what, I
- 14:45Speaker 1: didn't feel bad about it because it was the one
- 14:48Speaker 1: spot I had in the negotiation to ask for whatever,
- 14:50Speaker 1: and they said no to a lot of stuff, and
- 14:51Speaker 1: I was just throwing crap at the wall. I was like,
- 14:53Speaker 1: I'll take I'll take the parking spot, the best one
- 14:54Speaker 1: right there. And they were like, okay, what'll this close
- 14:58Speaker 1: the deal? And I was already ready to close the
- 14:59Speaker 1: deal fight, I mean, but I was like, it sure will.
- 15:03Speaker 1: And so I've had But I think Russ can get
- 15:05Speaker 1: that parking spot with another solid, pretty good year and
- 15:10Speaker 1: then all of a sudden some of the culture starts
- 15:13Speaker 1: to be relaxed because the rest of the culture is great.
- 15:16Speaker 1: I think Sean Payton's gotta come and reset that place
- 15:18Speaker 1: and not give anybody the idea that you're better than
- 15:23Speaker 1: the others. You think Sean Payton took the job because
- 15:26Speaker 1: he saw hope in Russell Wilson or just because he
- 15:29Speaker 1: wants to just get back in it both. I think
- 15:33Speaker 1: there is hope in Russell Wilson, as weird as it
- 15:35Speaker 1: is to say, and I want to have been hard
- 15:37Speaker 1: on him, and we made fun of him because it's
- 15:38Speaker 1: he's he's an easy target. I'm an easy target. I
- 15:40Speaker 1: get it could make fun of me. He's an easy target.
- 15:42Speaker 1: It's fun. But he's also he wants super Bowl, so
- 15:50Speaker 1: he's also not a hundred. He should be fine, and
- 15:55Speaker 1: I think there is some hope there. And Sean Payton's
- 15:57Speaker 1: an offensive mastermind. He did it with another short quarterback, Yeah,
- 16:02Speaker 1: Drew Brees exactly, and that's all the matters, how short
- 16:04Speaker 1: you are. The weird thing about Denver, though, the owners
- 16:09Speaker 1: and that it's the Walmart people and they've never done
- 16:12Speaker 1: this before. And you know, you just hear stories or
- 16:16Speaker 1: you read stories, or do you like ownership to allow
- 16:23Speaker 1: you to be the team that the coach. Maybe you
- 16:27Speaker 1: have a little general manager and you like them to
- 16:29Speaker 1: own and you like there to be a fine line,
- 16:31Speaker 1: especially if that's that. And maybe that was some of
- 16:33Speaker 1: the agreed upon or maybe he just needed money. I
- 16:34Speaker 1: don't know, but I think he really wanted to coach.
- 16:36Speaker 1: He'd been out awhile and he didn't leave disgrace or anything.
- 16:39Speaker 1: He left good Adam sure, Mike Court, Yes, okay, good picture.
- 16:44Speaker 1: I saw Adam's mouth move, but I didn't hear anything.
- 16:47Speaker 1: I was like, well, no, I'm sure Star getting all right,
- 16:50Speaker 1: go ahead, next one going to the super Bowl. Now
- 16:52Speaker 1: would have win this Sunday mean more to Jalen Hurt
- 16:54Speaker 1: his story and career or Patrick Mahomes. Patrick Mahomes. Patrick
- 16:58Speaker 1: Mahomes has the ability and whistle me, blow me out
- 17:01Speaker 1: if you want. I'm good Patrick Mahomes. He wins the
- 17:05Speaker 1: super Bowl, He's in the conversation to be in the
- 17:09Speaker 1: conversation for the next goat. Now, remember, goat doesn't mean
- 17:14Speaker 1: what it used to mean. Got used to just mean
- 17:16Speaker 1: simply the greatest of all time. There's only one that's not.
- 17:18Speaker 1: Now goat means you're just really, really good, one of
- 17:21Speaker 1: the best. Right now, people put goat up on my Instagrams,
- 17:24Speaker 1: I'll post them like goat that we got to take
- 17:26Speaker 1: that all time out though I know, yes, but it's
- 17:29Speaker 1: all time You're right, But I'm saying that, change to
- 17:32Speaker 1: say goat. So should it be like g o rt
- 17:37Speaker 1: go right now? That's the right times. What we should
- 17:41Speaker 1: make it is that you spell ding it listen it
- 17:47Speaker 1: just it has the meaning of goat and how it's
- 17:52Speaker 1: used has shifted a bit. And now the greatest of
- 17:56Speaker 1: all time right now parentheses, right now right Patrick him
- 18:00Speaker 1: is the best quarterback in the NFL. There are a
- 18:03Speaker 1: couple of guys that, if they had a couple of
- 18:05Speaker 1: really good seasons, could take him over. Heck, we we're
- 18:06Speaker 1: talking about if Burrow had beaten him and won a
- 18:09Speaker 1: super Bowl with and if you're already talking about somebody
- 18:12Speaker 1: up in that mix, it's close. That raises close. If
- 18:15Speaker 1: my Homes wins this, he's the next goat. He's the
- 18:18Speaker 1: next he has the next opportunity to be the next goat.
- 18:21Speaker 1: He has the next opportunity the next best player of
- 18:22Speaker 1: the generation. And he's already in the lead right now,
- 18:25Speaker 1: and he's got a two to pace car lead two paces.
- 18:30Speaker 1: But if he wins this, it's massive. I mean, he
- 18:32Speaker 1: is going to be a generational player, not just somebody
- 18:35Speaker 1: who plays as good as anybody in the generation. And
- 18:37Speaker 1: there's a difference. If Jalen Hurts wins, it's really cool.
- 18:40Speaker 1: It's a great story. Here's the guy who came lost
- 18:43Speaker 1: a starting job in college, stayed, stayed as a backup,
- 18:48Speaker 1: stayed as a backup, crazy stayed. Are you kidding me? Sometimes?
- 18:55Speaker 1: I want to leave here. If Mike messes up the
- 18:56Speaker 1: audio level, and he wanted to stay even as he
- 18:59Speaker 1: was a backup up, and people just kept talking about
- 19:03Speaker 1: what the leader he was, what a great guy was
- 19:05Speaker 1: Transverse to Oklahoma crushes it doesn't even play at the
- 19:11Speaker 1: level in college, and he's playing at now. Has become
- 19:15Speaker 1: a better quarterback as it is more elite at his
- 19:19Speaker 1: skill set in the NFL than he was in college
- 19:22Speaker 1: against better people. So I do think both stories are
- 19:26Speaker 1: really cool. But I think with Patrick Mahomes, this is
- 19:29Speaker 1: a generational player, and to be that generational player, you
- 19:32Speaker 1: gotta do a couple of generational things, and he'll probably
- 19:34Speaker 1: need to win like four or five Super Bowls. Mames, Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 19:39Speaker 1: May one disagree, he can't have about it. I'm gonna
- 19:42Speaker 1: say I agree with all that. But at the same time,
- 19:44Speaker 1: Patrick Mahomes is the next go He's gonna be here again.
- 19:46Speaker 1: You can't just win one super Bowl, though, and you
- 19:48Speaker 1: don't know that he's been what five straight AFC championships.
- 19:53Speaker 1: I gonna make it this one, but he's gonna be
- 19:56Speaker 1: back here again. And I don't know if Jalen Hurts
- 19:59Speaker 1: will and I think I Jayalen It's wins this and
- 20:00Speaker 1: you're like, Wow, remember Jalen Hurts that great story, this
- 20:03Speaker 1: and that, but it's and he But if you lose it,
- 20:05Speaker 1: you'd be like Marilyn, Jalen Hurts almost won the Super Bowl,
- 20:08Speaker 1: Mari when Jalen Hurts almost had the great story. There's
- 20:10Speaker 1: validity to what you're saying. I just think Patrick Mahomes
- 20:13Speaker 1: needs to win for four or five and it's really
- 20:16Speaker 1: gonna be really hard to do with Burrow, with Josh Allen,
- 20:20Speaker 1: with the crop of young, new young quarterbacks, it's gonna
- 20:23Speaker 1: be hard to win four or five, much less seven.
- 20:27Speaker 1: And if you can do it on an ankle, bad ankle.
- 20:29Speaker 1: Here's the thing. Let's say he plays this game and
- 20:31Speaker 1: his ankle is not hurting. Just following me here, I'm
- 20:32Speaker 1: gonna create a little fictional tale. Let's say he goes out,
- 20:36Speaker 1: he's having it, having having a day, his ankles feeling
- 20:41Speaker 1: actually pretty good. They've rehabbed it in two weeks. He's
- 20:45Speaker 1: loving life. Actually, he's actually working harder on that ankle
- 20:48Speaker 1: than he's ever worked before. Put an extra pressure on it.
- 20:50Speaker 1: Just see, he's hoping on the leg. And so about
- 20:56Speaker 1: the fourth quarter, two or three minutes left, when Kansas
- 20:58Speaker 1: City has it in hand for me. I'd start living
- 21:03Speaker 1: to make people feel like, wow, what a trooper like,
- 21:08Speaker 1: I'll be dragging that. I'd be dragging that ankle. A
- 21:12Speaker 1: matter of fact, I would have shot some footage before
- 21:14Speaker 1: the game of how bad my ankle was, even though
- 21:15Speaker 1: it wasn't to put out afterward, and then giving it
- 21:18Speaker 1: to somebody. I would have been limping around, Hey, Eddie,
- 21:20Speaker 1: filming a limping on the locker room. If we would
- 21:23Speaker 1: have one, I'd say, okay, Eddie, take this, get this
- 21:25Speaker 1: over to this person, have them slided out. That's how
- 21:28Speaker 1: generational play. But again, that's how the great stories are,
- 21:32Speaker 1: people overcoming great things. The bloody sock kurts, jelly, bloody sock,
- 21:37Speaker 1: you know what happened to pimple popped? But you know
- 21:38Speaker 1: what they told us. Yeah, that's that's what we need
- 21:42Speaker 1: to send us to his pr people. We love stories.
- 21:45Speaker 1: I say that, we love we love narratives, we love stories,
- 21:47Speaker 1: We follow stories, we watch movies, we watch TV shows Netflix.
- 21:49Speaker 1: That's that's all sports is too, It really is. So.
- 21:53Speaker 1: I mean, my ankle hurts right now. Yeah, I was
- 21:55Speaker 1: gonna say, why wait till the fourth quarter? Why not
- 21:57Speaker 1: just well, because you can't then because it may actually
- 21:59Speaker 1: affect you're playing, Like after you make the touchdown, after
- 22:03Speaker 1: you throw the touchdown back, I hear you. But then
- 22:06Speaker 1: when you're not doing it again, Yeah, it's like you
- 22:09Speaker 1: gotta keep up with it. And that's why, honestly, and
- 22:12Speaker 1: I've said this before, I don't think I'm this guy
- 22:14Speaker 1: who's above embellishing or lying for entertainment. But my problem
- 22:20Speaker 1: is between the radio show hours a day, this thing,
- 22:24Speaker 1: the Bobby Cast, anything, if I lie, I can't remember it. Therefore,
- 22:29Speaker 1: I try my hardest not to embellish or lie because
- 22:32Speaker 1: I won't remember it. I'll be somewhere and to ask
- 22:33Speaker 1: me a question, and if I lied, I don't know.
- 22:37Speaker 1: So I just always have to go back to what
- 22:38Speaker 1: kind of really happened. And so that's I would forget
- 22:44Speaker 1: the ankle and I'd start hobbling on in the first quarter,
- 22:46Speaker 1: forget about it. And then then how all this footage
- 22:49Speaker 1: you made running around all of like a deer. You'd
- 22:51Speaker 1: be all over TikTok, like see there's a guy being
- 22:53Speaker 1: like you see look at him, he's not hopping there
- 22:55Speaker 1: was hoping there sus his game is gonna be funny consistency, consistency,
- 23:01Speaker 1: always be consistent, and having your story ready. All right,
- 23:04Speaker 1: go ahead. Do you think the Super Bowl experience of
- 23:07Speaker 1: reading mahomes will give them the upper hand on Sunday? Yeah.
- 23:11Speaker 1: I would imagine going into a Super Bowl and the
- 23:13Speaker 1: two weeks prior in the media and the questions and
- 23:15Speaker 1: the and the media days and the city and yeah,
- 23:20Speaker 1: that's awesome. I mean, that's fine, that's big eyes and yeah,
- 23:22Speaker 1: sure you're trying to focus as much as you can.
- 23:24Speaker 1: But this is not something that's common. But I would
- 23:26Speaker 1: say it's not even super Bowl. Let's say your first
- 23:28Speaker 1: NC Double A tournament, let's say your first anytime you
- 23:30Speaker 1: do something for the first time, there are different parts
- 23:34Speaker 1: of you that are so excited and you can be
- 23:35Speaker 1: as professional as possible, but it's still super cool and
- 23:37Speaker 1: it's not normal, and you want to be in the
- 23:39Speaker 1: most normal baseline spot ever to make the decisions that
- 23:41Speaker 1: you can make while playing the game, because it's all
- 23:43Speaker 1: muscle memory. You want to get it back to muscle memory.
- 23:46Speaker 1: You want to get it back to things happening naturally.
- 23:48Speaker 1: What's not natural as a new environment that's super exciting,
- 23:50Speaker 1: it will be awesome. So yes, will it help? Yeah,
- 23:53Speaker 1: because they've been there, they know what to expect. They
- 23:55Speaker 1: know the half hour halftime, which usually it's or forty minutes,
- 23:59Speaker 1: and usually it's it's half of that, and your whole career,
- 24:03Speaker 1: you've done half. And it's like, you know your body's ready,
- 24:05Speaker 1: you go down, you can gatorade. Do you have your
- 24:08Speaker 1: orange slice? You know, you talk about pizza party after
- 24:10Speaker 1: the game and then you go back out. But yes,
- 24:14Speaker 1: it will help. And I don't know what. Let me
- 24:17Speaker 1: look at the line now, somebody we pull that up, somebody.
- 24:20Speaker 1: But I'm still I'm still on the Chiefs. Go ahead.
- 24:22Speaker 1: I don't think it's changed. Last one in honor of
- 24:24Speaker 1: the Super Bowl? What is your go to Super Bowl snack?
- 24:30Speaker 1: You know that's tough because I don't have a go to.
- 24:33Speaker 1: I love chicken wings, like love them, yea, God, I
- 24:37Speaker 1: love them. You regular buffalo or you like lemon pepper.
- 24:40Speaker 1: I like to mix it up. No, not taryaki. Taryaki
- 24:43Speaker 1: is two Asian for me, barbecue sauce like it only
- 24:45Speaker 1: my chicken wings to I like my Chinese food Asian.
- 24:48Speaker 1: I like matsushi, my chicken wings though not taryaki, not
- 24:52Speaker 1: for me. I like it. I like, I'm kind of
- 24:54Speaker 1: kind of hot but not so hot, so a medium buffalo. Yeah,
- 24:57Speaker 1: and then I like the blue cheese. End I like
- 25:02Speaker 1: the ranch, and sometimes I don't like to know which
- 25:04Speaker 1: one's which. And it surprised me. You know, order like
- 25:08Speaker 1: twenty four wings, four different sets of six, put them
- 25:13Speaker 1: in a bowl, mix them and so then I don't
- 25:17Speaker 1: even know. Then there's a little bit of each on
- 25:19Speaker 1: each and then surprise me about the white. You know,
- 25:22Speaker 1: probably chicken wings, Eddie oh man. I like, of course
- 25:26Speaker 1: chicken wings. But I like ruffles and ranch dip. But
- 25:30Speaker 1: this is like where you go to the salad dressing
- 25:32Speaker 1: aisle and you get the powder ranch and then you
- 25:35Speaker 1: get a pint of sour cream. Put that powder in there, dude, Yeah,
- 25:40Speaker 1: you're in a Winnebago. That ruffle. It's delicious. It's almost
- 25:44Speaker 1: as good as meth. But method up Kevin chips and
- 25:49Speaker 1: salt said chips and in guawk, either one is good
- 25:50Speaker 1: with me. You cannot go wrong with that, adam absurd
- 25:53Speaker 1: amount of guacamole. I like to smoke smoke smoked poor,
- 25:57Speaker 1: but smoke poor but smokes some chickens. And to have
- 26:00Speaker 1: a have a big hang at the house. I like
- 26:03Speaker 1: to smoke meats. It is the Eagles minus one and
- 26:08Speaker 1: I still so hey, low it up with the chiefs. Okay,
- 26:12Speaker 1: fill your pockets would smile. You're right though about this
- 26:15Speaker 1: whole like experience thing, because I was watching the bloed
- 26:17Speaker 1: So Tom Brady is at I think, and Brady comes
- 26:21Speaker 1: out talking about when it was his first Super Bowl
- 26:23Speaker 1: when he had to take over for bled So, and
- 26:25Speaker 1: he said he didn't realize how nervous he was gonna
- 26:27Speaker 1: be leading up those two weeks leading up to the
- 26:30Speaker 1: Super Bowl. I mean that's a big deal for experiening
- 26:33Speaker 1: in the Eagles. I mean, my my second books called
- 26:35Speaker 1: fail Until you Don't have a big part of it
- 26:36Speaker 1: is just getting in there and starting because it's probably
- 26:38Speaker 1: gonna work out right the first time, but God, you
- 26:40Speaker 1: learned so much through just being there, so when the
- 26:43Speaker 1: second time you do get in the mix, you're like, oh,
- 26:45Speaker 1: I already know what's what's gonna happen here, Like at
- 26:47Speaker 1: least how it's gonna feel now. I just gonna work
- 26:48Speaker 1: on me because when I hit those golf balls on
- 26:51Speaker 1: TV I've never done, my heart was beating fast, just
- 26:56Speaker 1: so fast, and if I did it again, I think
- 26:58Speaker 1: I'd be a little easier for me than know. The
- 26:59Speaker 1: cameras out of the people were yelling. Somebod yelled. Jake
- 27:01Speaker 1: from State Farm. It's the whole thing. I was humiliated,
- 27:04Speaker 1: all right. Tittle tattle Mike, it's it the tattle coming
- 27:14Speaker 1: up Coach Mike Norvelle, or as I call them, like
- 27:18Speaker 1: normal from Florida State of Reminder. Twenty five whistles presented
- 27:22Speaker 1: by Draft King sports Book, an official sports betting partner
- 27:24Speaker 1: of the NFL. Download the Draft Kings app and used
- 27:27Speaker 1: the code Bobby sports to get in on the action
- 27:29Speaker 1: parlay of the Week this week Chiefs plus one and
- 27:33Speaker 1: a half over fifty five and Travis Kelsey anytime score.
- 27:38Speaker 1: I like that one. That's your three. Oh god, damn,
- 27:41Speaker 1: the only time ever just voluntarily when like that's a
- 27:45Speaker 1: good one. It like lost to me, Like all three
- 27:48Speaker 1: lost as soon as the game started, which wasn't impossible.
- 27:50Speaker 1: It was like, these three games are gonna happen and win,
- 27:52Speaker 1: and it's like I like that, and as soon as
- 27:54Speaker 1: the game started through LLLLL, I don't even know how
- 27:56Speaker 1: they all lost in the first one second. So there
- 27:59Speaker 1: you go. Mike, is there anyway they can move our
- 28:02Speaker 1: because on the top on the day of the game
- 28:04Speaker 1: there's all the the parlays, but that was put ours
- 28:07Speaker 1: as the far right, and I gotta scroll all the
- 28:09Speaker 1: way over to get there. I'm gonna ask him, just
- 28:11Speaker 1: tell him for for my sake. Top five, Top five
- 28:14Speaker 1: man you want to get on this twenty five whistles Parley.
- 28:18Speaker 1: Check out the Draft King sports Book. It's my favorite app.
- 28:21Speaker 1: New users use the code Bobby Sports when you download
- 28:23Speaker 1: the app twenty one and up. The most eligible states.
- 28:25Speaker 1: Age varies by jurisdiction. Eligibility restriction, supply, gambling problem called
- 28:28Speaker 1: one gambler in New York called eight seven seven eight
- 28:31Speaker 1: hoping why or text hoping why four six seven three
- 28:34Speaker 1: six nine See show notes for full to tails. Where
- 28:38Speaker 1: do we go? We can talk about the NBA trades
- 28:40Speaker 1: real quick, which, by the way, when last night I
- 28:44Speaker 1: saw the Lakers trade, I was like, dang, okay, I
- 28:46Speaker 1: like it. I like what I'm seeing here. I like
- 28:48Speaker 1: I'd love to see Lebron win again. I love to
- 28:50Speaker 1: see Tom Brady win. And it wasn't a Pat Pats fan.
- 28:54Speaker 1: It's not like I'm jealous of everything about Tom Brady,
- 28:56Speaker 1: so I shouldn't, but I love to see greatness because
- 29:00Speaker 1: we don't. We have like one at a time for
- 29:04Speaker 1: ten twenty years of real greatness. I did root against
- 29:09Speaker 1: Michael Jordan a little bit because I was so jealous.
- 29:11Speaker 1: But then that's when I got a little older, was like,
- 29:12Speaker 1: why am I doing this? I get to see Michael
- 29:14Speaker 1: Jordan's but and then I also told myself, you're eleven.
- 29:17Speaker 1: How are you having this conversation? You're really smart? That's
- 29:19Speaker 1: crazy awareness. Yeah, I was just like, wow, it's pretty cool.
- 29:22Speaker 1: Was that an underdog thing? You just you loved underdogs?
- 29:25Speaker 1: That's a kid. Even though everybody around me love the Cowboys,
- 29:29Speaker 1: I couldn't do it because they won, and I could
- 29:32Speaker 1: never have a new team that one. That's right. I'm
- 29:35Speaker 1: on the couch, therapist, but you're right, I can't have.
- 29:39Speaker 1: I had the same thing. My mom always raised me
- 29:41Speaker 1: to love underdogs, except we love the Cowboys. But she
- 29:44Speaker 1: loved him with the tear with yourself, Hey done, sound
- 29:46Speaker 1: very underdog. That's a great, great question, great point. So
- 29:50Speaker 1: the Lakers trade Westbrook, who I there was no chance
- 29:54Speaker 1: he was playing another game with the Lakers. After the
- 29:55Speaker 1: game where Lebron broke the scoring time, there was one
- 29:58Speaker 1: certain play I don't I haven't seen talk about it,
- 30:01Speaker 1: and I could be an idiot, but I do. I've
- 30:03Speaker 1: really started watching a lot of NBA basketball this year.
- 30:06Speaker 1: Lead pass while I play Madden or work. Just put it,
- 30:08Speaker 1: just go find a game. It's awesome. Sometimes sometimes it's
- 30:12Speaker 1: a little too io for me all the time because
- 30:14Speaker 1: I love college basketball, but the athleticism is just insane.
- 30:18Speaker 1: And also they gotta shoot quick. Because I watched all
- 30:21Speaker 1: college all the time. NBA is like run, shoot, run, shoot,
- 30:25Speaker 1: runch shoot because it's shock. I think the chocolate is
- 30:26Speaker 1: two seconds now. I've got it way down. So I
- 30:30Speaker 1: stayed up and watch Lebron. After Arkansas be Kentucky, it's like,
- 30:34Speaker 1: let's go Lebron. Lebron breaks the record that what's funny
- 30:37Speaker 1: is the guy guarding him from the thunder didn't even
- 30:39Speaker 1: put his arm up. I think everybody was just kind
- 30:40Speaker 1: of like, let him, let's go, let's do it. And
- 30:43Speaker 1: you know what, that would have been a cool video
- 30:44Speaker 1: to be Lebron's final point, Like you don't want to
- 30:47Speaker 1: be a home run, you give up somebody's five d
- 30:50Speaker 1: or But I don't mind getting scored on by Lebron
- 30:53Speaker 1: a jumper too, because that video will last forever of
- 30:56Speaker 1: him scoring that point probably, And I was and people
- 30:59Speaker 1: are like, oh, how would you like to be would
- 31:00Speaker 1: you poster r eze your your me know that one's awesome.
- 31:04Speaker 1: That's the freaking Lebron. There's a picture of Jalen Williams.
- 31:07Speaker 1: There's two Jalen Williams on the thunder that Jalen I
- 31:09Speaker 1: know from Rkansas secon around pick at fourteen points last night,
- 31:11Speaker 1: seven rebounds. He's actually playing well, I can't. I love
- 31:13Speaker 1: it for him. And he's the guy who's kind of
- 31:15Speaker 1: a tweener on the outside. He's playing a five and
- 31:17Speaker 1: a four, but he's like six his three. So and
- 31:20Speaker 1: Jalen and I talk a little bit. I love the guy.
- 31:24Speaker 1: And there's a picture of him standing next to Lebron
- 31:26Speaker 1: on the free throw line. It's so cool. Imagine that
- 31:30Speaker 1: Jalen's twenty. Lebron has been in the league for almost
- 31:35Speaker 1: that long. So is and he's standing next to Lebron.
- 31:38Speaker 1: That's like, that's so. I was so happy that he
- 31:41Speaker 1: was there for that picture. He took a big charge
- 31:44Speaker 1: from Lebron in that game. That kind of like that
- 31:47Speaker 1: late game. My point on on Russ was he made
- 31:49Speaker 1: a pass when Lebron there were was a break. I
- 31:53Speaker 1: swear to god, he didn't even try to he threw
- 31:55Speaker 1: it out of bounds. That I mean, it was such
- 31:59Speaker 1: a bad pass us he strew it out of bounds.
- 32:02Speaker 1: And I was like, oh, I was like he he
- 32:04Speaker 1: got a yelling fight with the coach after the game,
- 32:06Speaker 1: one of the backup ham backup coaches or one of
- 32:08Speaker 1: the assistant coaches A four. Oh yeah, he's the head
- 32:13Speaker 1: he's the head coach. Day over there, Bill Jackson. Okay,
- 32:23Speaker 1: so the breakdown. The Lakers get Dangelo Russell, who used
- 32:26Speaker 1: to be a Laker. I believe Russell was drafted second overall,
- 32:29Speaker 1: Like I don't know what year it is anymore, maybe fifteen.
- 32:32Speaker 1: This is not me looking at any sheet, but he
- 32:34Speaker 1: was second overall and he's been on a bunch of
- 32:37Speaker 1: teams playing really well. Malik Beasley, Jared Vanderbilt. Minnesota got
- 32:41Speaker 1: Conley who's older but still average and tender game, and
- 32:45Speaker 1: he's averaging seven or eight assists the game. And if
- 32:48Speaker 1: I'm not right on this, don't fact check me. But
- 32:50Speaker 1: I'm just making I'm just saying what I think. I know.
- 32:52Speaker 1: I'm This is not these dads. This data is me
- 32:55Speaker 1: just going from my brain, okay, because I just know
- 32:57Speaker 1: what happens here. Two things happen. One I say wrong,
- 33:00Speaker 1: and our listeners to this show go, hey, you weren't
- 33:03Speaker 1: right about that. Two the sore losers, guys that hate
- 33:06Speaker 1: me message me and go you're freaking idiot, and I
- 33:10Speaker 1: hate you and I hope you die, and this is
- 33:12Speaker 1: why you were wrong. And I'm like, sore loser Chris.
- 33:14Speaker 1: I don't even know who you are, dude, so leave
- 33:18Speaker 1: me alone. Um, you talked out Westbrook. His contracts expiring.
- 33:23Speaker 1: In a way, he'll be a free agent at the
- 33:24Speaker 1: end of this year. He's made a whole lot of money.
- 33:26Speaker 1: They got it first, but anyway, it's a great, great
- 33:29Speaker 1: trade for the Lakers. They just gave up a slightly
- 33:31Speaker 1: protected first round, you know, so good for the Lakers.
- 33:36Speaker 1: I hope they win. Yeah, I mean it made him better.
- 33:37Speaker 1: I don't know if it will make him anything great.
- 33:39Speaker 1: But they need a shooter. They need a shooter. Dangel
- 33:41Speaker 1: Russell shoots almost pc from three. They need a shooter.
- 33:45Speaker 1: Jared Vanderbilt is solid when it comes to playing that four,
- 33:48Speaker 1: that three and a half, four and four and a
- 33:50Speaker 1: half Jared Vanderbid off the bench. Probably. Yeah, I was
- 33:53Speaker 1: gonna ask you one question. Do you guys see the
- 33:55Speaker 1: video of a D sitting on the bench when Lebron
- 33:57Speaker 1: hit that shot? Um, he was not just your thoughts.
- 34:00Speaker 1: There are a lot of thoughts that I did, and
- 34:04Speaker 1: I've watched a D play a lot this year. He doesn't.
- 34:09Speaker 1: I'm surprised they didn't even think about trading him, but
- 34:11Speaker 1: they can't. They First of all, I couldn't trade Lebron
- 34:14Speaker 1: because of his extension. You can't trade somebody six months
- 34:17Speaker 1: out of extension period NBA by laws. A D is
- 34:21Speaker 1: so good, but he's always hurt. But yes, I do
- 34:24Speaker 1: feel like he wasn't loving it. And even if you
- 34:26Speaker 1: don't love it, you gotta act like you do because
- 34:28Speaker 1: cameras are everywhere. Yeah, that's what That's what I thought.
- 34:30Speaker 1: He was behind everyone, but he wasn't. That's that's what
- 34:34Speaker 1: I thought about. We can see him. You just gotta
- 34:37Speaker 1: felt seen all the time when you're that So I
- 34:40Speaker 1: like that trade for the Lakers. Now, if we're going
- 34:42Speaker 1: to the Sun's holy crap, all of a sudden, I
- 34:44Speaker 1: look online, Kevin Duran gets right to the Suns. You
- 34:48Speaker 1: gotta content game changer. But now you got two teams
- 34:52Speaker 1: in the West, and the Suns were already really good,
- 34:54Speaker 1: but they weren't. I don't think they were gonna win
- 34:56Speaker 1: it with what they had. But Kevin Durant going from
- 35:01Speaker 1: the Nets the Suns, and we can go through all
- 35:03Speaker 1: the crap they got. But they got four fast round
- 35:06Speaker 1: picks the Nets did, which is wild twy nine pick swap,
- 35:11Speaker 1: which means they'll get the better of the two. I'm
- 35:13Speaker 1: assuming that's the swap, the better of the two, not
- 35:15Speaker 1: the worst of the two. But what I mean Kyrie
- 35:19Speaker 1: is gone to Dallas. What you put up on Wednesday night,
- 35:23Speaker 1: I think in his first game back, and they won.
- 35:25Speaker 1: It'll be fun to see that dynamic twe him and
- 35:26Speaker 1: Luca because they're both scores. How were they playing together
- 35:30Speaker 1: that game? I watched clips, I don't think played. Is
- 35:33Speaker 1: that what it was from? High watched clips? So I
- 35:35Speaker 1: had nothing to say on got it. That makes sense
- 35:38Speaker 1: to me then too, because all the clips I saw
- 35:39Speaker 1: was Kyrie and need to put up twenty four and
- 35:41Speaker 1: I was like, well, this will be interesting. Yeah, I
- 35:43Speaker 1: didn't see that game. I'm glad I didn't say I
- 35:44Speaker 1: saw the game. I was just like I did not
- 35:46Speaker 1: I saw clips of Kyrie Um. So Duran's onund contract
- 35:49Speaker 1: for three more years, which is good for Phoenix as well. Yeah,
- 35:53Speaker 1: because Durant is if it wasn't for Lebron, Durant will
- 35:58Speaker 1: be that guy of this generation. And now we're moving
- 36:00Speaker 1: over to the nice but mostly we're moving over to
- 36:05Speaker 1: possibly Tatum. No, I knew you go boss, Luca Luca.
- 36:13Speaker 1: I mean, I think Luca can be a a list.
- 36:17Speaker 1: But it's a really great trade. I love it for
- 36:20Speaker 1: the Sons. They are a contender now for the next
- 36:23Speaker 1: couple of years. Devin Booker, Kevin Durant, Chris Paul, who's
- 36:28Speaker 1: a hundred and still is playing a solid dude. Quick

- 38:04Speaker 1: that's a guy that makes decisions right there. When I
- 38:07Speaker 1: met that guy would make a single decision and now
- 38:09Speaker 1: look at him. Can't stop making decisions. And they said
- 38:12Speaker 1: the request is in for a top five placement on
- 38:14Speaker 1: the parlay boom. That's how we do it. Let's go
- 38:17Speaker 1: over to Adam with Adam Stats, Adam Stats, Adam Half
- 38:23Speaker 1: All the year steps for you, Adam Stats, Super Bowl
- 38:28Speaker 1: Edition of Adam Stats. We're gonna dive in here with
- 38:30Speaker 1: the Eagles and Chiefs. Y'all might not know this. The
- 38:32Speaker 1: Eagles and the Chiefs have only ever met nine times,
- 38:35Speaker 1: which seems like not a lot for two long standing
- 38:38Speaker 1: NFL franchises. I mean, the league has been you know what,
- 38:41Speaker 1: six or seven years old, I don't know that I
- 38:44Speaker 1: would have even thought about it. It's almost like inter
- 38:48Speaker 1: league playing baseball, where that used to be, oh wow,
- 38:50Speaker 1: the Yankees are actually gonna play the Cubs, but then
- 38:53Speaker 1: once they started playing across you don't think about it.
- 38:56Speaker 1: But nine times it's low. I feel like that's that's
- 38:58Speaker 1: pretty low. Yeah, But um, this week, everybody's talking about,
- 39:03Speaker 1: you know, my homes and the offense hurts in the offense,
- 39:06Speaker 1: I think, I really think the defense is going to
- 39:08Speaker 1: be the story of the game. Who's gonna get the
- 39:10Speaker 1: clutch stoff, He's gonna get the clutch turnover? Who's gonna
- 39:12Speaker 1: play complimentary football? We'll start with the chief side of
- 39:14Speaker 1: the ball. Thirty three. That's the number of receiving touchdowns
- 39:18Speaker 1: the Chiefs have given up this season. That's good for
- 39:20Speaker 1: dead last in NFL. Can I say this because that
- 39:23Speaker 1: is a great stat and that's such a good stat.
- 39:26Speaker 1: And here's why it's not a yesh, what great stat?
- 39:31Speaker 1: And I love that number. But let me tell you
- 39:33Speaker 1: they're always throwing from behind. That's true. Whenever a team
- 39:37Speaker 1: has to score a bunch of points and chunk constantly,
- 39:39Speaker 1: what do you think is gonna happen? You're gonna have
- 39:41Speaker 1: a bunch of running touchdowns with jamming the clock. No,
- 39:43Speaker 1: that that's the only way people can score. That's true,
- 39:46Speaker 1: that's true. But stick that. Yes, they're dead last in
- 39:50Speaker 1: the league. They're they're dead last lead I had the same, Bobby,
- 39:54Speaker 1: But then but then their their average margin of victory
- 39:56Speaker 1: is still in these seven points. That's because he's come
- 39:59Speaker 1: back on him at the end end and they don't
- 40:00Speaker 1: even care anymore. Maybe so, maybe so, I just thought
- 40:03Speaker 1: I thought that, I thought that was an interesting one. Um.
- 40:06Speaker 1: And but are they going to be able to keep
- 40:07Speaker 1: the Eagles out of the end zone? That's the that's
- 40:09Speaker 1: the way they gonna keep a j Brown at the
- 40:10Speaker 1: end zone? Got are out of the end zone? Um,
- 40:13Speaker 1: go to the Eagle side. Seventy that's how many freaking
- 40:15Speaker 1: sacks the Eagles have this year. Um, that's insane. That's
- 40:20Speaker 1: a lot of a lot of sacks. Um. That's that's
- 40:24Speaker 1: that's fifteen more than the second second most. Guess who
- 40:27Speaker 1: has the second most, the Chiefs with fifty five. Because
- 40:31Speaker 1: some teams are throwing the whole time, exactly, they just
- 40:34Speaker 1: could pin their ears back and go after him. And
- 40:36Speaker 1: let me say two names well one, well, they guess
- 40:39Speaker 1: they both could be first names. Jordan Davis, He's gonna
- 40:45Speaker 1: here this week. Yeah, my friend Jordan David. Jordan's Yeah,
- 40:48Speaker 1: like singles you up, that's it. That's the name. I
- 40:50Speaker 1: wanted to say, shout him out right there, you go
- 40:53Speaker 1: call him at shot him out? And I forgot just
- 40:54Speaker 1: then actually, and then I was like I should fit
- 40:57Speaker 1: this into something. Go ahead, Yeah, but it's just gonna
- 40:59Speaker 1: be interesting to see can the Eagles get after my
- 41:02Speaker 1: homes on that on that bum ankle? And we'll see
- 41:05Speaker 1: how bum it is. Uh, it's gonna be interesting. But
- 41:07Speaker 1: we're forgetting what's our minds that we use all the time.
- 41:13Speaker 1: Did the Eagles have an injured quarterback too? That's true.
- 41:17Speaker 1: He wasn't hopping, Yeah he would. He wouldn't hop it
- 41:19Speaker 1: too hard in that first shoulder. You don't hop on
- 41:22Speaker 1: the shoulder, you don't. I don't think Hurts is all
- 41:25Speaker 1: the way healthy either. Okay, Um, two minutes. Okay, this
- 41:30Speaker 1: is the the last one. Two minutes. That's the over under
- 41:33Speaker 1: on Chris Stapleton's national anthem prop bet. They're betting on
- 41:37Speaker 1: will Chris Stapleton go longer or shorter than two minutes
- 41:40Speaker 1: in the national anthem, which I am so stoked a
- 41:42Speaker 1: best seing him played the national anthem. That's gonna be awesome. Um,
- 41:45Speaker 1: y'all got a favorite Super Bowl prop bet? Yes? My
- 41:48Speaker 1: prop bet is? What's that bad? I found a good one.
- 41:53Speaker 1: You've already bet it. Remember, and you guys have never
- 41:55Speaker 1: heard of this one? Tails oh tales never failed, fails,
- 42:00Speaker 1: and it's one of those. It's tough to find. Now.
- 42:03Speaker 1: I don't have football provat no. I mean I like
- 42:07Speaker 1: the color of the gatorade, but I mean they never
- 42:09Speaker 1: show it on TV, so the gateways flying everywhere so
- 42:12Speaker 1: that you're trying to figure out which one to day.
- 42:14Speaker 1: I hate it, all right, Adam, that's it, Thank you, buddy,
- 42:17Speaker 1: Adam Stats. Adams, Adam Stats, He's got you. All right.
- 42:29Speaker 1: Let's go over to coach Norville. Coach Norvelle Hey could
- 42:34Speaker 1: be either actually told me it wasn't I exactly head
- 42:38Speaker 1: football coach, a Florid State university coach. How are you?
- 42:41Speaker 1: I'm good? Hey good? Let me ask you. It's got
- 42:44Speaker 1: a couple of dumb guy questions. I was talking to
- 42:46Speaker 1: the guys here, which I came to the ball game.
- 42:48Speaker 1: When you guys played Oklahoma, Um, and so I'm saying, hey,
- 42:51Speaker 1: we're gonna get coach Norvell on and they were like, no,
- 42:53Speaker 1: it's Norvelle. I so want from Arkansas. We would say, normal,
- 42:56Speaker 1: how do you say your last name? Norville? And I
- 43:00Speaker 1: played I played college ball at Central Arkansas. So I
- 43:02Speaker 1: lived with that and did everybody go normal? It happens
- 43:06Speaker 1: from time to time. And I'm married in Arkansans, so yeah,
- 43:10Speaker 1: it's uh, it's the like you live. That's the accent.
- 43:13Speaker 1: So first of all, congratulations. Um. When I went down,
- 43:17Speaker 1: my wife is a Sooner, and my friend Jaco and
- 43:20Speaker 1: who's a singer, we went down together, who's a big
- 43:22Speaker 1: Florida State guy. We went down to that game, all
- 43:24Speaker 1: of us, and we sat with the athletic director from
- 43:26Speaker 1: Florida State and it was awesome, like a really great time.
- 43:29Speaker 1: What I took away from that game is how fortunate
- 43:31Speaker 1: it must be to be a head coach and have
- 43:32Speaker 1: a ball game where it feels like a home game.
- 43:33Speaker 1: It was it was, it was like a home football game.
- 43:36Speaker 1: It was crazy. Yeah, I definitely definitely enjoyed that that
- 43:40Speaker 1: experience and it was good to have good to have
- 43:43Speaker 1: a crowd there behind you. When you live in Florida,
- 43:46Speaker 1: everybody else wants to come to Florida, So I guess
- 43:48Speaker 1: all the warm stuff happens near you. And can you
- 43:51Speaker 1: like push for a Bowl game in your home state?
- 43:53Speaker 1: Is that because that seems like the greatest thing is
- 43:55Speaker 1: to have everything stayed nearby as other teams are flying
- 43:58Speaker 1: all the way across the country. It was it was
- 44:00Speaker 1: a fun experience for us because you know, obviously it's
- 44:03Speaker 1: still three hours away and so allow, I mean for
- 44:05Speaker 1: our guy get they got a chance to uh to
- 44:07Speaker 1: enjoy the whole week of experience. But then it's it's
- 44:11Speaker 1: also wonderful no when you're not having to get on
- 44:13Speaker 1: a plane, you're not having to go and do all
- 44:15Speaker 1: the things logistically. It was fun for the families and
- 44:18Speaker 1: you know, obviously a fan basis, it was a great turnout,
- 44:21Speaker 1: So UH signed sign me up for those as often
- 44:25Speaker 1: as possible. All the binders behind you, what what what's
- 44:29Speaker 1: that like? What is that? Why so many binders? What
- 44:32Speaker 1: are we trying to what's broken? Uh? There's there's just
- 44:36Speaker 1: a lot of different different parts of the program with information.
- 44:39Speaker 1: So it just reminds me right now being on this
- 44:42Speaker 1: and I need to clean all that up. But I
- 44:44Speaker 1: bought a house the first time, and I was like,
- 44:46Speaker 1: I can't believe I had to sign all these papers.
- 44:47Speaker 1: It was just the first time about a house. I
- 44:48Speaker 1: don't even know what I was signing. But at the
- 44:50Speaker 1: end they give you this thing and and I never
- 44:51Speaker 1: even looked at the book again. But you have like
- 44:53Speaker 1: eight of them behind you. That has to do with football?
- 44:56Speaker 1: Is that plays? Is that people of it is play
- 45:00Speaker 1: these uh you know I do it. I do each year.
- 45:02Speaker 1: I have a full year binder and itinerary and you know,
- 45:06Speaker 1: things of expectation, calendars, player profiles, you know, things that
- 45:10Speaker 1: get added throughout the uh figure out the off season
- 45:13Speaker 1: and just growth development. You know. I've got a lot
- 45:18Speaker 1: of different departments that we work, we work with. I
- 45:20Speaker 1: like to have everything centralized as much as possible and
- 45:23Speaker 1: can do most of it probably digitally, but which we
- 45:26Speaker 1: have not. Still there's still something to you know, being
- 45:28Speaker 1: able to have a hard copy. How many phone numbers
- 45:30Speaker 1: do you have? No telling? Because if there's just so
- 45:34Speaker 1: many people that have got to get ahold of you,
- 45:37Speaker 1: and then so many and for so many different reasons.
- 45:39Speaker 1: And I mean that in the way of like you
- 45:40Speaker 1: can't just have one line. I mean you would go
- 45:43Speaker 1: many different Yeah, how many phone numbers? Like how many
- 45:45Speaker 1: personal phones? Yeah, you have to have more than one.
- 45:48Speaker 1: Got I've got. I've got three, like the three different
- 45:51Speaker 1: numbers that I've got one office and then you know,
- 45:54Speaker 1: two different personal cell phone and then a work phone.
- 45:58Speaker 1: So can you imagine you get people hitting you up
- 46:00Speaker 1: for tickets specifically, because I get people coming to me
- 46:03Speaker 1: for things if it's like concert tickets or even game tickets.
- 46:08Speaker 1: And I haven't talked to in years coach and I
- 46:09Speaker 1: don't and all of a sudden they're my best friend
- 46:11Speaker 1: again or my cousin, and they're like, hey, sure, what
- 46:14Speaker 1: does that happen at your level? Two? Being the head
- 46:16Speaker 1: coach of Florida State, where somehow somebody gets your numbers, like, hey,
- 46:19Speaker 1: can I get some tickets? Oh? Absolutely I have. Uh,
- 46:23Speaker 1: there's there's uh. The timing of the ask is what's
- 46:27Speaker 1: pretty impressive. Like I might have been for the Bowl game.
- 46:30Speaker 1: Actually somebody on game day, um next to me, like
- 46:35Speaker 1: as we're on the bus going to can I get
- 46:37Speaker 1: can I get a couple of tickets from the game?
- 46:38Speaker 1: I mean the nerve of somebody just to ask anyway
- 46:41Speaker 1: the nerve that is wild. I tried. I tried to
- 46:44Speaker 1: pride myself in responding to most things, but I definitely
- 46:47Speaker 1: did not respond in that that text there before kickoff stuff.
- 46:52Speaker 1: After you have such a I would say last season
- 46:54Speaker 1: was a really successful season for you guys, especially how
- 46:56Speaker 1: you ended it, you know, ten and three, I believe,
- 46:59Speaker 1: so you fin us the year when you try to
- 47:01Speaker 1: replicate that, like going into next year, what's strong about
- 47:05Speaker 1: Florida State where you think, hey, we can not only
- 47:07Speaker 1: do that have another tin win season, but possibly do
- 47:10Speaker 1: even better. You want to see you want to see
- 47:12Speaker 1: consistent growth and that's been a big part of of
- 47:16Speaker 1: you know, the things that we've done, you know, from
- 47:18Speaker 1: coming in day one to you kind of establishing the
- 47:21Speaker 1: foundation of of who we were and you know what
- 47:23Speaker 1: we're gonna do and you know kind of the steps
- 47:25Speaker 1: that were necessarily moving forward, and so it's it's it's
- 47:28Speaker 1: fun seeing that you you kind of take hold and
- 47:31Speaker 1: you know the way that our our players, our coaches,
- 47:33Speaker 1: you know, really all all areas of our program that
- 47:35Speaker 1: have that have improved to allow us to have the
- 47:38Speaker 1: season we had this last year. And you know there
- 47:40Speaker 1: were still you know, we're still things that showed up
- 47:43Speaker 1: you throughout that journey that we have to get better at.
- 47:45Speaker 1: And uh now it's now it's the you know, even
- 47:49Speaker 1: being that much further along in the finer details, you know,
- 47:52Speaker 1: the consistency of our actions, the way that we respond
- 47:56Speaker 1: through all situations that you know, hopefully we can eliminate
- 47:58Speaker 1: the three and continue to get her and your last
- 48:01Speaker 1: six years there, I think you've had close to twenty
- 48:03Speaker 1: kids that have been drafted in the NFL. How important
- 48:07Speaker 1: is that when you're talking to kids that are thinking
- 48:09Speaker 1: about coming into your program. Do they want to know
- 48:11Speaker 1: that you've put out players before? Or do they want
- 48:13Speaker 1: to know that you've got a cool hangout room? Like
- 48:16Speaker 1: what's important? No, I mean, I think it's it's all,
- 48:19Speaker 1: you know, And one of the things that we we
- 48:21Speaker 1: talked about is that at all in close to experience,
- 48:23Speaker 1: you know, when you're when you're a high school player
- 48:26Speaker 1: or a college transfer that's looking to make their choice,
- 48:29Speaker 1: you know, what what is it about Florida State that's
- 48:32Speaker 1: going to help them achieve in all areas of their
- 48:34Speaker 1: life on the field, off the field, classroom, you know,
- 48:36Speaker 1: setting themselves up for for who they want to be
- 48:39Speaker 1: and ultimately what they want to do. And you know,
- 48:41Speaker 1: all these guys want to play in the NFL. You
- 48:43Speaker 1: know if they if they don't, I really don't want them, hear.
- 48:45Speaker 1: Uh you know we want we want guys that have
- 48:47Speaker 1: that passion and desire. But uh, you know it's also
- 48:50Speaker 1: you know guys that you know, the who they are
- 48:53Speaker 1: building the may and building the the experiences of who
- 48:56Speaker 1: they get to do with what they get to represent.
- 48:58Speaker 1: And you know, we're at a special place. You know.
- 49:00Speaker 1: You you saw the Bowl Game. You see the passion
- 49:03Speaker 1: that you know, the pagetry of being a Florida State seminar,
- 49:07Speaker 1: the Great tradition, the great legacy, you know, all the relationships.
- 49:10Speaker 1: That's what makes this place very unique. And you know
- 49:13Speaker 1: I love all different parts of it. But yes, being
- 49:17Speaker 1: able to say, you know, to look at a track
- 49:19Speaker 1: record of you know, people that we've coached, whether it's
- 49:21Speaker 1: myself or guys on our staff that you know, guys
- 49:25Speaker 1: that have been able to go and live out that
- 49:27Speaker 1: dream and you are achieving at a high level, you know,
- 49:29Speaker 1: not just getting to the NFL, but having success when
- 49:32Speaker 1: when they do arrive. So when you were running the
- 49:34Speaker 1: offensive pit, even co offensive coordinator and you're an offensive guy,
- 49:38Speaker 1: and I wonder how important it is for you to
- 49:40Speaker 1: keep learning or if you do with the defense. Now,
- 49:44Speaker 1: so offensive head coach obviously great at running an offense,
- 49:49Speaker 1: but how much do you really know about defense because
- 49:51Speaker 1: you played offense? But now you've also got to bring
- 49:55Speaker 1: in people that you trust. Do you constantly ask questions
- 49:58Speaker 1: and want to learn about what they're thinking? Is it
- 50:00Speaker 1: a crash defensive course you take if or the other way?
- 50:03Speaker 1: Let's say, if you're a defensive coach, like, how is
- 50:05Speaker 1: it as a head coach when it's not your expertise
- 50:07Speaker 1: that you have to trust to bring in someone to
- 50:09Speaker 1: make it there is? I just feel like that would
- 50:10Speaker 1: be a really tough dynamic. Well, I mean, for for
- 50:13Speaker 1: my background, I've I was a I worked under a
- 50:16Speaker 1: defensive minded head coach and a guy that was a
- 50:18Speaker 1: defensive coordinator and Todd Graham for nine years, and I
- 50:22Speaker 1: think that a lot of the things we do offensively,
- 50:25Speaker 1: you know, really came from you know, just conversations that
- 50:28Speaker 1: we would have and being able to kind of get
- 50:30Speaker 1: a better understanding on on both sides the ball of
- 50:33Speaker 1: you know, you know, what gives defenses a challenge, challenges,
- 50:37Speaker 1: and you know, obviously things that you look to be
- 50:39Speaker 1: able to take away or gain an advantage on on
- 50:41Speaker 1: both sides of the ball. So you know, I definitely
- 50:44Speaker 1: have um, you know, I try to have a big
- 50:46Speaker 1: picture approach to all things of what we wanted, what
- 50:50Speaker 1: we want to look like defensively, how we want to attack. Uh,
- 50:53Speaker 1: you know, the there's there's certain things just fundamentally day
- 50:56Speaker 1: to day that you know, obviously each coach is going
- 50:58Speaker 1: to bring their own, um, you know, unique perspective too,
- 51:02Speaker 1: and and and how to make that you know, how
- 51:04Speaker 1: to get that accomplished. And that's what uh yeah, that's
- 51:06Speaker 1: what I love about this profession and just the job
- 51:09Speaker 1: that it has. But you know, I try to have
- 51:11Speaker 1: a uh, you know, a big picture approach to our
- 51:13Speaker 1: entire program and you know, been able to hire some
- 51:16Speaker 1: great coaches that they're able to implement that. I just
- 51:19Speaker 1: want like a book like defense for Dummies for me,
- 51:21Speaker 1: because because you're obviously an expert and a gray head coach,
- 51:24Speaker 1: and I followed you at Memphis as well, and if
- 51:28Speaker 1: it were me and I was so good at one thing,
- 51:29Speaker 1: I would just keep doing what I was celebrated at
- 51:31Speaker 1: and I probably don't even know there was a defensive
- 51:33Speaker 1: part of the game. I probably just only do offense,
- 51:35Speaker 1: not even know there was defense happening. And then I'm like,
- 51:38Speaker 1: oh crap. Now I'm the head coach. I need the
- 51:39Speaker 1: defense for dummies. But not that's why he's a head coach,
- 51:42Speaker 1: and that's why I'm over here doing this. I guess
- 51:44Speaker 1: apparently I can tell you one of the one of
- 51:45Speaker 1: the fun things when you're when you when you're an
- 51:48Speaker 1: when you're an offensive coordinator, one of the one of
- 51:50Speaker 1: the best things when you have a good defense. It
- 51:52Speaker 1: makes everything in life so much better. So, you know,
- 51:55Speaker 1: good defense, you have great special teams. I mean, it's
- 51:58Speaker 1: you know, we we take a lot of pride and
- 51:59Speaker 1: try to be a well rounded Dome program. Question about Tallahassee.
- 52:03Speaker 1: So my friend Eddie, who is sitting over there, here's Eddie,
- 52:06Speaker 1: show yourself with So Eddie and I played a show
- 52:09Speaker 1: at the Football Stadium and Tallahassee that we wouldn't played,
- 52:13Speaker 1: and thousands people came and watched us play music and
- 52:15Speaker 1: it was a great time. Now this is where the
- 52:16Speaker 1: question for you matters, coach, because we're the same age.
- 52:19Speaker 1: After we finished our show, we're adult men, and at
- 52:22Speaker 1: the time I was probably like thirty four thirty five.
- 52:24Speaker 1: They decided to go to the sorority and fraternity houses. Now, Coach,
- 52:28Speaker 1: there there are men in their thirties, and I felt
- 52:31Speaker 1: like that was probably not the move, even after we
- 52:34Speaker 1: played a show to thousands of people on campus, but
- 52:37Speaker 1: they wanted the campus experience. How do you feel about
- 52:40Speaker 1: that night, Coach. Here's the deal, coach, real quick, it
- 52:42Speaker 1: was parents weekend, so I thought that would help a
- 52:44Speaker 1: little bit. Eddie, keep keep telling yourself that brother, right,
- 52:49Speaker 1: what I'm saying, probably not the move, right, Coach, you
- 52:52Speaker 1: just stay like where the adults are, right, I can
- 52:56Speaker 1: in defense of Eddie, there's probably quite a few people
- 52:58Speaker 1: that would enjoy that experience of that age group, but
- 53:02Speaker 1: probably not the right probably not the right playing. So
- 53:04Speaker 1: that's all I want to I want I want to coach, Coach,
- 53:08Speaker 1: do you and well, I have a few more minutes
- 53:09Speaker 1: with you because I'm gonna let you get on. But
- 53:11Speaker 1: I was watching Lebron last night when he sets the
- 53:13Speaker 1: record for all time points scored and it's super cool,
- 53:15Speaker 1: and I stayed up and that was an l a
- 53:17Speaker 1: game and I wake up early. But are you still
- 53:19Speaker 1: in tune with I want to say, the pop culture
- 53:21Speaker 1: of sports, meaning the NBA. Did you watch the Lebron moment?
- 53:26Speaker 1: Will you watch the Super Bowl? Will you watch any
- 53:28Speaker 1: of the NBA playoffs? Or are you so hyper focused
- 53:31Speaker 1: on Florida State that it's hard to even do that? Yeah?
- 53:33Speaker 1: I did not. I did not watch it last night.
- 53:36Speaker 1: But you know, there are there are events that you
- 53:38Speaker 1: you know, as a sports fan, and you know, I
- 53:41Speaker 1: I love I love watching you know, great teams, great uh,
- 53:44Speaker 1: you know, great players. You know. Unfortunately, wasn't able to
- 53:47Speaker 1: watch that, but it's you know, that's uh, it's something
- 53:50Speaker 1: to be celebrated. And yeah, you think back, you know,
- 53:53Speaker 1: I was trying to get in my mind. I think
- 53:55Speaker 1: Lebron is a couple of years younger than I am,
- 53:56Speaker 1: but it's you know, I still remember as I was
- 53:59Speaker 1: coming up, he was a story. You know, he was
- 54:02Speaker 1: he was an icon before he ever, you know, even
- 54:04Speaker 1: got to the NBA, just for what he did in
- 54:06Speaker 1: in high school. And but for somebody to have that
- 54:08Speaker 1: much i'd say pressure or expectation to go and live
- 54:12Speaker 1: out you know, that dream and to have the level
- 54:15Speaker 1: of success, I mean, it's it is something to be celebrated,
- 54:17Speaker 1: and so, you know, I try to try to get
- 54:20Speaker 1: in and stay into as many of the current day
- 54:24Speaker 1: and age of of all things that are happening in sports,
- 54:26Speaker 1: but a lot of time does go into just what
- 54:28Speaker 1: we're doing here. Have you ever been to a Super Bowl?
- 54:31Speaker 1: I have pretty boring huh. It's uh. I'll tell you,
- 54:36Speaker 1: the show of it is is remarkable. I mean all
- 54:40Speaker 1: the things going on around it. I mean from halftime
- 54:43Speaker 1: to just uh, you know they know how to make money, Yeah,
- 54:47Speaker 1: they do. And you know he's in Florida. That's what
- 54:48Speaker 1: a lot of the games are Florida. It's in Arizona
- 54:50Speaker 1: this time. But I went to one in Miami, and yeah,
- 54:53Speaker 1: it's a show. But I'm telling you, it's a lot
- 54:55Speaker 1: of rich people who buy tickets, who can afford tickets
- 54:57Speaker 1: to watch the games or then I like super passionate
- 54:59Speaker 1: about the teams. But you're right, there's some money there.
- 55:01Speaker 1: It is a show. It was like I did the
- 55:03Speaker 1: Red Carpet on a couple of nights ago. It felt
- 55:06Speaker 1: like that coach, Well, You're like, who are these people
- 55:08Speaker 1: and how they get this money? You know? When I
- 55:10Speaker 1: went to when I went I was actually the as
- 55:12Speaker 1: back when I was office coordinator at Arizona State, So
- 55:14Speaker 1: it was in Phoenix, and it was you know, pretty uh,
- 55:18Speaker 1: you're pretty easy for me to get there. But you know,
- 55:20Speaker 1: people that travel and it's it's it is a it's
- 55:23Speaker 1: a major event, and they, like I said, they NFL
- 55:26Speaker 1: knows what they're doing. They're they're gonna make They're gonna
- 55:28Speaker 1: make their money. All right, last question for you, coach,
- 55:29Speaker 1: I do want to talk about Jordan Travis. What's what's
- 55:32Speaker 1: the expectation for him next year? I mean, just to
- 55:36Speaker 1: continue to grow and continue to get better. I mean,
- 55:38Speaker 1: he's a phenomenal young man. I mean just the way
- 55:41Speaker 1: that he's hopefully lead or a football team. You know,
- 55:43Speaker 1: you see the all of the success he's had on
- 55:46Speaker 1: the field, and just you know, the person that he is.
- 55:49Speaker 1: He's never he's never let it get to him in
- 55:52Speaker 1: a way that he still stays focused on the work.
- 55:54Speaker 1: And you know you're talking about you know, you he
- 55:57Speaker 1: had opportunities even ven earlier this this semester to go
- 56:01Speaker 1: and um you go to the National Championship Game, to
- 56:04Speaker 1: be able to be around you know, some of the
- 56:05Speaker 1: national media and and kind of you know, as you
- 56:08Speaker 1: as you look at some of the things he's accomplished,
- 56:10Speaker 1: just to continue to push who he is. But you know,
- 56:12Speaker 1: he declined. He declined the invitation because he wanted to
- 56:15Speaker 1: be here at the first day of workouts with this team.
- 56:17Speaker 1: And you know that to me, that's that's who he is.
- 56:20Speaker 1: And yeah, I'm gonna put no limits to what he
- 56:22Speaker 1: can accomplish. I think he's, you know, one of the
- 56:23Speaker 1: best players in all of college sports. Um, but you know,
- 56:27Speaker 1: he's just a remarkable young man too, and he's somebody
- 56:29Speaker 1: you want to cheer for. And you know, the way
- 56:31Speaker 1: that he works, the way he pours into this team,
- 56:33Speaker 1: into this program. I mean, I'm honored for the opportunity
- 56:35Speaker 1: to coach him. I got a lot of friends that
- 56:37Speaker 1: are massive Florida State fans. They're gonna love hearing this.
- 56:41Speaker 1: I would have been so irritated to win all because
- 56:44Speaker 1: you guys, wont I think six in a row at
- 56:45Speaker 1: the end. I just wouldn't want of the season to end.
- 56:47Speaker 1: I've just been like, we we have stopped, like we
- 56:48Speaker 1: were not losing. Why don't have to stop? And you
- 56:50Speaker 1: guys were you know, we went to the ballgame and
- 56:53Speaker 1: just big things coach. I'm super super cool to see
- 56:56Speaker 1: you do so well down there, and I'm glad that
- 56:59Speaker 1: you told Eddie he was a reap and I think
- 57:00Speaker 1: otherwise we're all good. We're all clear here there he is.
- 57:03Speaker 1: I have a great offseason, coach, Coach Mike Norvell, or
- 57:06Speaker 1: as I call him, coach coach normal. Alright, coach, have
- 57:09Speaker 1: a great day. Thank you for your time. All right,
- 57:11Speaker 1: thanks so much, and go all right, thanks to coach Kevin.
- 57:14Speaker 1: That was you right line that one up. Here's our winner,
- 57:16Speaker 1: five box and monopoly money. Hey, so great job you
- 57:23Speaker 1: did win. Thank you and I will be awarding you
- 57:26Speaker 1: that cash sometime in the next It's installments. Pick a
- 57:31Speaker 1: lump sum of one dollar. Um, I have we gotta
- 57:37Speaker 1: wrap this, But why don't we do our final thoughts
- 57:42Speaker 1: spaghetti bones. You always say that I've never gone to
- 57:45Speaker 1: the super Bowl, but you say you've been a few times,
- 57:47Speaker 1: and you're like twice, and you're like, it's it's just snooty,
- 57:50Speaker 1: you know, like a lot of rich people. It's cool
- 57:52Speaker 1: to go and say you've been to a super Bowl.
- 57:54Speaker 1: It's fun to look around, but it's not this experience
- 57:57Speaker 1: where the experience is actually amazing because it doesn't feel
- 58:00Speaker 1: like a passionate football game. I have an idea because
- 58:03Speaker 1: I read stories about all these people given tickets away
- 58:06Speaker 1: to people that deserve to go to the super Bowl
- 58:08Speaker 1: that could never afford it. I read one about the
- 58:10Speaker 1: big blizzard in Buffalo. There was a couple living in
- 58:12Speaker 1: their house and they got a knock on their door
- 58:14Speaker 1: and an old man who had been like in the blizzard,
- 58:17Speaker 1: frost by hands like frozen. It was like, I need
- 58:20Speaker 1: to come in. They held that. They kept him in
- 58:22Speaker 1: the house for like two or three days while he recovered.
- 58:24Speaker 1: So the NFL got win there, like, well, you're going
- 58:26Speaker 1: to the super Bowl, giving you two tickets. Delta stepped in,
- 58:29Speaker 1: got them fights and all that. So let's just give
- 58:31Speaker 1: a bunch of tickets away. That way fans can really
- 58:34Speaker 1: get get the tickets I'm not giving. Am I gonna get? No, no, no,
- 58:37Speaker 1: not us. I didn't even get that felt. I didn't
- 58:38Speaker 1: even get invited by Draft Kings. I thought maybe we
- 58:41Speaker 1: get invited. I kept waiting and we never got invite
- 58:42Speaker 1: a by dress crazy man. Now I just need to
- 58:45Speaker 1: lock myself in the snowhouse and be like Draft Kings
- 58:47Speaker 1: gonna go Super Bowl them hungry because if they let
- 58:50Speaker 1: us go, we would be like yeah yeah. And there
- 58:54Speaker 1: are some fans to do that, but I it's fun.
- 58:56Speaker 1: Everybody always uses their story to get that full ticket.
- 58:59Speaker 1: I'd say to have one next year that we do Kevin.
- 59:02Speaker 1: The Buccaneers have just signed eighty four year old Tom
- 59:05Speaker 1: Moore to a contractor extension. He's been around for a
- 59:07Speaker 1: long time and I just thought this was crazy. Tom Brady,
- 59:10Speaker 1: Tom Brady, Tom Brady. This is his forty seven different
- 59:14Speaker 1: contract he's signed in the NFL. Hunter, Tom Moore, He's
- 59:19Speaker 1: like a defensive coach forever. Forty seven different contracts. That's
- 59:22Speaker 1: a lot good for him. Hey, consistency, consistence. I wonder
- 59:25Speaker 1: if he knows where he is my team, Adam, I'm
- 59:31Speaker 1: excited for I got a j. Brown. He got a
- 59:34Speaker 1: rough go of it last year leaving the Titans. He
- 59:36Speaker 1: got a bad rap. But this year he showed up
- 59:38Speaker 1: and showed out for the Eagles, and I'm excited him
- 59:40Speaker 1: to get a shot at a ring. I was a
- 59:42Speaker 1: fan of him in Tennessee and now excited to watch him.
- 59:45Speaker 1: Do you know him? I met him once. I met
- 59:48Speaker 1: him once, but he's almost you have a new song.
- 59:52Speaker 1: Co tomorrow got a new song already. Yeah, yeah, songs
- 59:55Speaker 1: called right on. You can pre order it or pre
- 59:58Speaker 1: save it, whatever they call it. But it's tomorrow final thing.
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: Because I got a conference called like one minute. Um,
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: golf sucks. I was really on, Eddie. I went and
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: played really on, really on. Then we went played yesterday.
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: You're like dicking around. I can't emit the ball and like,
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: I got to be pretty good and then I don't.
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: I've been kind of sick under the weather, so I
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: blame it on that. But golf sucks and it's awesome.
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: It sucks so bad. And I never got to play
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: golf as a kid because we have golf around. The
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: only time I get to play golf was not even play.
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: I worked maintenance on a golf course when I got
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: to be a late teenager. I don't even get to
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: play there because it's all rich people. So I never
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: was a round golf. Um, Like, golf sucks and it's
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: awesome the end. You hurt my feelings yesterday too, by
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: the way, because you I was trying to help. I
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: don't need a lesson. Everybody's like, we don't you take
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: to take a step back from the ball. I said,
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: I don't need a lesson from you, and I was like,
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: I'm beating you by like ten st. You should take
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: a lesson from me. No. One day I get read
