A mass card once prayed for Michael Collins—now unveiled at the Michael Collins Centre in Clonakilty—holds a hauntingly personal link to history. Bought by Irish National Army officer Felix Cronin after Collins’ death in 1922, the card later tied him to Collins’ fiancée, Kitty Kiernan, whom he married just three years later. Cronin, a Tipperary-born IRA fighter who endured imprisonment and hunger strike, rose to become Quarter Master General post-Civil War. Their son, Michael Collins Cronin, carried on the legacy.
