- 0:00Speaker 1: Hang on, hang on, hang on. Oh, Trailer 3. I
- 0:02Speaker 1: haven't seen this one. I am not looking forward to
- 0:05Speaker 1: this movie, but I want to go see it in
- 0:06Speaker 1: the theater so I can bitch about it.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Sounds about right.
- 0:11Speaker 3: Touch your mind.
- 0:13Speaker 4: Don't you cry.
- 0:15Speaker 3: It's cold asleep, you little baby.
- 0:19Speaker 5: This is J.T. Petty, and you're listening to Movie Meltdown.
- 0:22Speaker 6: We'll have cake and all.
- 0:24Speaker 2: Pray you won't.
- 0:29Speaker 5: The following feature has been rated R by the Motion
- 0:31Speaker 5: Picture Association of America. It is intended for mature audiences
- 0:35Speaker 5: and parental discretion is advised.
- 0:47Speaker 7: It's showtime folks.
- 0:49Speaker 5: Enjoy the show.
- 0:53Speaker 6: Our nuclear reactor, pumping out one million kilowatts of power.
- 1:23Speaker 1: What's up and welcome to Movie Meltdown.
- 1:25Speaker 7: I'm Brian.
- 1:25Speaker 3: I'm David.
- 1:26Speaker 1: I'm Patrick.
- 1:28Speaker 3: I'm Karen.
- 1:29Speaker 7: Karen's back.
- 1:49Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:50Speaker 2: The much requested. You guys got to send her emails
- 1:53Speaker 2: and let her know. We've told her she's beloved by
- 1:56Speaker 2: the entire internet.
- 1:58Speaker 1: Three guys in Irish land.
- 2:01Speaker 2: They also, in addition to the rest of the internet. Well,
- 2:05Speaker 2: before we get into whatever you want to call this segment,
- 2:09Speaker 2: just to throw it out there, I was going to say,
- 2:11Speaker 2: this week, John Wick comes out. Have any of you
- 2:15Speaker 2: seen that?
- 2:16Speaker 1: I'm not saying that it's on my computer right now,
- 2:18Speaker 1: but I have not watched it yet.
- 2:20Speaker 2: You need to. I just watched it this weekend. It's
- 2:25Speaker 2: everything I'd heard. It is exactly like, and I'm not
- 2:29Speaker 2: knocking this. It's not like it worries about story. It
- 2:32Speaker 2: does have a solid story, but it's about five minutes
- 2:36Speaker 2: set up. It's like all you need is this really
- 2:39Speaker 2: basic structure, and then it just goes to town and
- 2:42Speaker 2: just annihilates everything. So, it is a hell of a
- 2:45Speaker 2: lot of fun. Once you get past the... There's a
- 2:49Speaker 2: thing in the beginning. Everybody that's seen it knows what
- 2:51Speaker 2: I'm talking about. It needs to be there for the
- 2:54Speaker 2: entire movie to happen, so I won't go into it.
- 2:56Speaker 4: What's the basic premise? What's the basic... If you can
- 2:59Speaker 4: do it spoiler free.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Is it just Keanu Reeves being Keanu Reeves?
- 3:02Speaker 2: No, that's the thing. He's not bad in it. I've
- 3:05Speaker 2: heard some interviews with him lately that he actually doesn't
- 3:09Speaker 2: sound like an idiot. We've all done the Keanu voice
- 3:11Speaker 2: for so long that all we can say is, oh,
- 3:14Speaker 2: what an idiot. But he was behind that big documentary
- 3:18Speaker 2: about cinematography.
- 3:19Speaker 5: I think.
- 3:20Speaker 1: I love it when the camera moves.
- 3:22Speaker 2: It was super dedicated to preserving film. I was like,
- 3:27Speaker 2: Keanu Reeves?
- 3:29Speaker 1: You need real film it's so real and visceral.
- 3:34Speaker 2: But yeah so I was like at that point and
- 3:36Speaker 2: then I heard this whole interview and he again doesn't
- 3:38Speaker 2: sound like an idiot so I'm trying to like give
- 3:40Speaker 2: him a break.
- 3:41Speaker 4: I've always kind of felt that way it seems like
- 3:43Speaker 4: anytime he's being interviewed or he's like talking off you
- 3:46Speaker 4: know out of character yeah that's a good reference he
- 3:49Speaker 4: seems like intelligent and then you know you put him
- 3:52Speaker 4: in a part and it's like he seems like an
- 3:53Speaker 4: idiot wow We don't need that in porno. That'd be terrifying.
- 3:59Speaker 4: We're making Tai Chi porno. Imagine the Matrix camera style
- 4:02Speaker 4: things you could do with porn.
- 4:03Speaker 1: You can see the money shot from every angle it was.
- 4:06Speaker 4: It'd be like when the water drop hit in the
- 4:09Speaker 4: water and it ripples. It would be like that. The
- 4:11Speaker 4: whole money shot would be like the slowest motion ever.
- 4:14Speaker 4: And you would see every drop splatter.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Critics acclaim the 14 minute money shot because of slow motion.
- 4:21Speaker 1: What are we calling this segment, Brian?
- 4:23Speaker 2: I don't know. What would you like to come up with?
- 4:25Speaker 1: Well, not Taylor Cash because that's trademarked.
- 4:27Speaker 2: Well, I was like, I don't care. I mean, it's
- 4:30Speaker 2: not its own show. It's just a segment. So if
- 4:33Speaker 2: you don't want, you know, if you want to go
- 4:35Speaker 2: your entire different way, I think all of them are
- 4:37Speaker 2: taken though.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Trailer segment one.
- 4:41Speaker 2: The internet is already filled up with everybody using every
- 4:44Speaker 2: phrase that's ever been done.
- 4:46Speaker 1: We'll just name it like a comment. So this is
- 4:48Speaker 1: like a comment. So it's like VS2014B. That's good.
- 4:52Speaker 2: If you'd like to name this episode after a loved one,
- 4:56Speaker 2: send us $ 55. I heard that commercial.
- 5:00Speaker 3: The other day.
- 5:01Speaker 1: And you can watch it fade into the Earth's atmosphere
- 5:03Speaker 1: and burn up.
- 5:04Speaker 2: For Valentine's Day, name an episode after your loved one. Oh, gosh.
- 5:07Speaker 4: Who does that?
- 5:09Speaker 2: You get a package sent in the mail. Like what?
- 5:11Speaker 2: With a map of stars and shit.
- 5:13Speaker 4: Not to be too douchey, but what podcast is so
- 5:15Speaker 4: big that someone would mark out to have him go,
- 5:18Speaker 4: this episode is the David Lugo episode.
- 5:20Speaker 2: Did you see the David Lugo episode? I would totally
- 5:22Speaker 2: do that. If you guys would like to sponsor each
- 5:25Speaker 2: individual episode, just get a hold of me.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Or Dave's stage name, The Dark Lord.
- 5:33Speaker 5: All right.
- 5:34Speaker 2: So anything else before we fire into our trailers for
- 5:37Speaker 2: the week?
- 5:37Speaker 1: Go for it.
- 5:38Speaker 4: Anybody watched anything recently?
- 5:40Speaker 5: Movies?
- 5:41Speaker 2: That was mine. I didn't know if you'd seen anything.
- 5:44Speaker 2: Have we watched anything recently?
- 5:45Speaker 1: We've been watching The Wire.
- 5:47Speaker 4: Yeah, we've just been watching The Wire. That show's so good.
- 5:51Speaker 2: I can't believe how good it is.
- 5:52Speaker 1: And it's like, you know it's good because it's got
- 5:54Speaker 1: British black people in it.
- 5:55Speaker 2: Second season. I know.
- 5:58Speaker 1: That's exactly how it has to be. And that one
- 6:00Speaker 1: guy that's the douchebag from 300.
- 6:01Speaker 4: Oh, well, that did just make me think something. Did
- 6:05Speaker 4: you see the whole little conundrum Cumberbatch got himself into?
- 6:10Speaker 4: he used the term colored actors.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Oh my God. He's British.
- 6:13Speaker 4: And what was ironic though, well, here's what's ironic. The conversation,
- 6:18Speaker 4: his actual quote that that was in was saying how
- 6:22Speaker 4: there needs to be more African-American actors in big roles.
- 6:25Speaker 4: And just in the middle of his dream, he said
- 6:28Speaker 4: colored actors are, and of course, you know, like half
- 6:31Speaker 4: the internet blew up, like, Oh my God, you're being racist.
- 6:33Speaker 1: He's like, I did not hear that.
- 6:34Speaker 4: Sincerely apologize. Like crazy. And he's like, I feel extra
- 6:37Speaker 4: stupid because what I was talking about was literally about
- 6:42Speaker 4: how we need more African American, you know, but I
- 6:44Speaker 4: was trying to be not pretty. I was trying to
- 6:45Speaker 4: make this comment about the prejudice in the system. And
- 6:47Speaker 4: I made a prejudice.
- 6:49Speaker 2: And that's just a weird term because I was thinking lately,
- 6:52Speaker 2: like if you use the phrase person of color, it's fine.
- 6:55Speaker 2: And I'm like, Essentially, is that any different?
- 6:58Speaker 1: Splitting hairs. I understand it.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Has a lot of history. I know there's a real reason,
- 7:03Speaker 2: but I was like, that's not how he meant it.
- 7:05Speaker 2: You know that's not how he meant it.
- 7:06Speaker 1: So if you can't call them colored, like colored folk,
- 7:09Speaker 1: can you call them just black? Or is that bad too?
- 7:12Speaker 2: I think we have to have a setting because you
- 7:14Speaker 2: can't use African American when there's an entire world out there. Yeah,
- 7:18Speaker 2: and he's British, so he's not really referring to just
- 7:22Speaker 2: American actors.
- 7:22Speaker 1: Not Americans, it's like African and British.
- 7:24Speaker 4: So yeah, I was going to say, is there... African-Saxon? African-Irish? Like,
- 7:30Speaker 4: what is that?
- 7:32Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 7:32Speaker 1: We need more black people on film. I can't say
- 7:35Speaker 1: anything these days.
- 7:35Speaker 2: I would say black.
- 7:36Speaker 8: I would.
- 7:37Speaker 2: I don't think black's a bad word. I don't think
- 7:39Speaker 2: it is. I refer to stupid white people all the time.
- 7:42Speaker 4: Right, right.
- 7:42Speaker 2: I can make fun of white people. We need less
- 7:44Speaker 2: factors of no color.
- 7:46Speaker 1: And it's just descriptive.
- 7:47Speaker 2: I say that I'm brown. It's all just, yeah, just
- 7:52Speaker 2: identifying people.
- 7:53Speaker 1: Don't tell the internet that you're Asian. They'll go nuts.
- 7:57Speaker 1: I'm not mainland Asian. Don't tell them you're Asian and
- 8:01Speaker 1: in cosplay comic character costume right now.
- 8:02Speaker 4: I was going to say, they're going to be requesting
- 8:04Speaker 4: schoolgirl outfits with little skirts.
- 8:06Speaker 1: Did you get the English letterbox edition of the show
- 8:11Speaker 1: in Steelbook? It's got the Asian girl on the cover.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Oh my gosh. First trailer, Brian?
- 8:18Speaker 2: For this segment that we're calling?
- 8:19Speaker 1: V2S1W4B. Trailer trash.
- 8:24Speaker 2: Trailer trash.
- 8:27Speaker 1: What are you kids doing out there? Go get my
- 8:29Speaker 1: cigarettes and watch a movie trailer.
- 8:32Speaker 2: Bring my PBR in the house.
- 8:35Speaker 5: We have just seen rushes direct from Hollywood of pictures
- 8:38Speaker 5: being released in the coming weeks. And we are proud
- 8:41Speaker 5: to announce that this theater will soon bring you the
- 8:44Speaker 5: greatest array of pictures ever to.
- 8:45Speaker 9: Reach our screen.
- 8:47Speaker 5: You'll see the finest stars in exciting performances. We're thrilled
- 8:51Speaker 5: to the suspense.
- 8:52Speaker 6: Comedy.
- 8:54Speaker 5: Romance, and drama of world-famous stories. Here's a glimpse of
- 8:59Speaker 5: a few of them coming to this theater soon.
- 9:01Speaker 4: Let's all start off right there. Fantastic Four.
- 9:03Speaker 5: All right.
- 9:04Speaker 1: In this modern... You want.
- 9:06Speaker 4: Me to rant right away? That's cool.
- 9:08Speaker 1: Of the Fantastic Four franchise, Marvel is trying to wring
- 9:12Speaker 1: even more money out of something they burned previously.
- 9:14Speaker 4: Don't blame Marvel.
- 9:15Speaker 1: Well, I guess it's not the real Marvel. It's the
- 9:17Speaker 1: second-rate Marvel, right? They can use the fancy flipbook opening,
- 9:22Speaker 1: but they don't own.
- 9:25Speaker 4: They have none of the creativity. They can't share any
- 9:28Speaker 4: of the same content.
- 9:29Speaker 1: They just happen to own Spider-Man and X-Men.
- 9:31Speaker 2: See, I re-watched all the X-Men original trilogy, if you will.
- 9:37Speaker 2: And I forgot they open with that Marvel flip book.
- 9:40Speaker 2: I was like, oh yeah, this was before there was
- 9:41Speaker 2: a big.
- 9:42Speaker 1: But it's like, even if you watch it, it's different
- 9:44Speaker 1: comic cells than the real Marvel.
- 9:46Speaker 2: It's like, this was before Marvel became Marvel, essentially.
- 9:49Speaker 1: And it's like, why don't they just... Why doesn't real
- 9:51Speaker 1: Marvel go over to fake Marvel thoughts and say things like,
- 9:54Speaker 1: Wouldn't you all just love 1% gross off of a
- 9:58Speaker 1: movie that we put Spider-Man or Wolverine in? Maybe they
- 10:01Speaker 1: just make a Spider-Man Wolverine movie.
- 10:03Speaker 2: Especially Sony. Isn't Sony kind of hurting at this point?
- 10:06Speaker 1: Sony can't even keep their internets intact.
- 10:09Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying.
- 10:10Speaker 1: They need 1% gross profit.
- 10:12Speaker 2: They'd be like, hey, we have Disney money, so... We've
- 10:15Speaker 2: got Mickey behind us.
- 10:17Speaker 10: Yeah, fuckers!
- 10:20Speaker 1: Here we go.
- 10:21Speaker 2: Boop, boop, boop.
- 10:26Speaker 1: Sounds like a cat purring. That was nice. I tried.
- 10:29Speaker 2: The cat's back in the projection room.
- 10:31Speaker 4: You know, the cells were really kind of blocked out,
- 10:33Speaker 4: weren't they? You couldn't discern an actual superhero in the
- 10:37Speaker 4: flip book.
- 10:37Speaker 1: In a world of establishing shots.
- 10:40Speaker 4: Human beings have an immeasurable desire to discover.
- 10:48Speaker 5: To invent. To build. Our future depends on us furthering
- 11:02Speaker 5: these ideals.
- 11:06Speaker 4: A responsibility.
- 11:09Speaker 2: That rests on the shoulders of generations to come.
- 11:21Speaker 1: But with every new discovery, there is risk.
- 11:32Speaker 2: There is sacrifice.
- 11:36Speaker 4: And there are consequences. Hello, Star Trek.
- 11:46Speaker 5: I know.
- 11:47Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 11:48Speaker 1: Slow down, kid.
- 11:49Speaker 6: No!
- 11:49Speaker 4: Hello, Super 8.
- 11:51Speaker 8: Aw.
- 11:52Speaker 1: I like that it's a little steampunky.
- 11:54Speaker 4: Is it steampunky?
- 11:55Speaker 1: Well, you know, it's not like super major.
- 11:56Speaker 2: From the studio they brought in. No creative mind.
- 12:00Speaker 1: From the studio that fucked up everything else that you love.
- 12:03Speaker 2: From the bank that bankrolled.
- 12:06Speaker 1: But I'm glad she's in it. I'm just, I'm not
- 12:09Speaker 1: a big.
- 12:09Speaker 4: Fan of her.
- 12:10Speaker 1: I love her.
- 12:11Speaker 4: She was good in American Horror Story because she played
- 12:13Speaker 4: a crazy bitch. Did you see Frank Underwood?
- 12:15Speaker 2: House of Cards?
- 12:16Speaker 4: Oh, it's, you will know.
- 12:17Speaker 1: She's great in House of Cards. You should watch it.
- 12:20Speaker 4: But is she playing a crazy girl?
- 12:21Speaker 5: No.
- 12:23Speaker 1: Thank you, sunshine. We meant to go into space and
- 12:28Speaker 1: we actually went to the danger zone.
- 12:30Speaker 4: I've already heard a lot of chatter that this script
- 12:34Speaker 4: is incredibly close to, I think, Diversion? Some other... I
- 12:38Speaker 4: get all these urgent-ish movies mixed up, but there's some other...
- 12:43Speaker 4: Sci-fi movie that drops before it, and apparently the premise
- 12:47Speaker 4: is real close. It's already getting kind of pooped on.
- 12:49Speaker 4: I think it's Divergent?
- 12:51Speaker 2: Yeah, the next chapter of Divergent.
- 12:53Speaker 4: Like, apparently it's very similar.
- 12:56Speaker 2: It's some other word that sounds like the last time around.
- 12:59Speaker 1: That sounds right. Well, in this one, it's not the
- 13:01Speaker 1: typical Fox cop-out, put them in space and let them
- 13:04Speaker 1: get hit with a solar flare. It's the original story
- 13:06Speaker 1: where they go to the danger zone. I don't know
- 13:08Speaker 1: the name of it.
- 13:09Speaker 2: Was there a highway there? I don't know.
- 13:13Speaker 1: Because I think I took that one time.
- 13:15Speaker 2: No, but it was on the way to it.
- 13:17Speaker 4: Well, what I don't understand is how is Doom.
- 13:21Speaker 1: How does Doom.
- 13:23Speaker 2: Because that's the guy going down the hall, so the
- 13:25Speaker 2: internet has said. When you see him walking down the
- 13:28Speaker 2: hall from behind and people are dying in front of him,
- 13:30Speaker 2: it's Doom.
- 13:32Speaker 1: Is he not the main villain?
- 13:33Speaker 4: But he's a computer hacker. So how is he... On
- 13:37Speaker 4: the science team and on the side, he's a hacker?
- 13:39Speaker 4: How is he there for this stuff? If he's just
- 13:42Speaker 4: an anonymous computer troll, how is he around? And how
- 13:46Speaker 4: is his face going to get messed up?
- 13:48Speaker 2: Where is.
- 13:49Speaker 4: All of his motivations for being after Fantastic Four.
- 13:52Speaker 1: I'm worried about the mask.
- 13:53Speaker 2: Is it Doom? Oh, no. That can make it break.
- 13:55Speaker 1: Is it Doom but leet speak? Are we getting zeros
- 13:58Speaker 1: in there?
- 13:59Speaker 4: They leaked him in the Doom outfit. There's this image
- 14:02Speaker 4: of him, and it's not the greatest quality, but it's like,
- 14:05Speaker 4: because it's green screen, it's some scene where he's floating,
- 14:08Speaker 4: and it's very leathery. It almost looks more medieval.
- 14:14Speaker 2: Senator Doom.
- 14:15Speaker 4: He doesn't not look.
- 14:17Speaker 7: Medieval.
- 14:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:18Speaker 4: See those, those shots. It's very, very different.
- 14:24Speaker 1: Well, okay. So here's the thing.
- 14:26Speaker 2: Let's put it this way though.
- 14:30Speaker 1: Like I remember when before Marvel, real Marvel was Marvel
- 14:34Speaker 1: and we got the leaked photos of Tony Stark as
- 14:36Speaker 1: Iron Man. And I was like, they are going to
- 14:38Speaker 1: ruin this. And this is their one chance to do perfection.
- 14:40Speaker 1: And then looking back, we know that it was basically biblical.
- 14:42Speaker 4: But look at him. I mean, that's.
- 14:44Speaker 1: We don't know. I mean, we know it's going to suck.
- 14:46Speaker 4: Did you guys see Kingdom of Heaven?
- 14:47Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 14:48Speaker 4: He looks like the pauper king. Like, he looks like
- 14:50Speaker 4: the pauper king in like a silk onesie. Like, what
- 14:52Speaker 4: is going on?
- 14:53Speaker 1: I love how fake the hand looks. It's just so rough.
- 14:57Speaker 2: But can you really tell with just the green screenshots?
- 15:00Speaker 1: No, you can't.
- 15:01Speaker 2: You have no idea what they're dreaming up right now.
- 15:04Speaker 1: And you know half of it is going to be
- 15:05Speaker 1: computer generated.
- 15:05Speaker 2: Yeah, there's going to be so much added stuff.
- 15:07Speaker 4: Is he going to have moving CGI armor though? Like
- 15:09Speaker 4: how tricky is that going to be?
- 15:11Speaker 1: Well, it's going to look stupid because it's fake Fox
- 15:13Speaker 1: and they don't have Disney money. I told you, fuckers.
- 15:18Speaker 4: So have you heard like the bigger drama like with
- 15:22Speaker 4: like the actual comic books, what the Fantastic Four comic
- 15:25Speaker 4: books have done? in response to the movies. Like, apparently
- 15:28Speaker 4: when they... It's a fight already. No, it's been a fight.
- 15:32Speaker 4: This is crazy, because honestly, I didn't believe it. Like,
- 15:34Speaker 4: I actually, like, you know, kind of clicked links and
- 15:36Speaker 4: clicked links to kind of read more and more to
- 15:37Speaker 4: make sure this wasn't just one dude making some stuff up. Like,
- 15:41Speaker 4: back when the first two Fantastic Fours, the more recent ones,
- 15:44Speaker 4: the one with Alba, you know, and.
- 15:47Speaker 2: They all pale in comparison to Corman, but go ahead.
- 15:50Speaker 4: Apparently, at that time, Marvel was so kind of grumpy...
- 15:55Speaker 4: With those movies that they literally stopped making Fantastic Four comics.
- 16:00Speaker 4: There has not been a new Fantastic Four comic since.
- 16:03Speaker 4: Those characters appear in the other comics, but they stopped
- 16:06Speaker 4: Fantastic Four comics to the point where even when they
- 16:09Speaker 4: do like promo banners or big collage art pieces for
- 16:12Speaker 4: conventions and for stuff, they don't put the Fantastic Four
- 16:16Speaker 4: characters on it. They are so grumpy with Sony that
- 16:20Speaker 4: they don't want to even help advertise Fantastic Four. They
- 16:24Speaker 4: have literally snuffed out their own characters just to kind
- 16:29Speaker 4: of help Booby Trap.
- 16:32Speaker 2: Why do they keep lining up to make movies about them?
- 16:34Speaker 2: Are they that beloved?
- 16:37Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 16:38Speaker 2: I was never that.
- 16:39Speaker 4: Doom is Silver Surfer to only things that matter in
- 16:43Speaker 4: Fantastic Four.
- 16:44Speaker 1: Well, you know the thing that I heard that I've
- 16:46Speaker 1: Benedict Cumberbatch was really confused about was, can we call
- 16:50Speaker 1: him a colored actor because he's a flame in this one?
- 16:52Speaker 1: And that's a color.
- 16:54Speaker 5: Flame.
- 16:55Speaker 1: It wasn't funny.
- 16:56Speaker 2: Okay.
- 16:57Speaker 4: Next trailer. No, but what sucks is I like that guy.
- 17:01Speaker 4: We mentioned this before, but the guy playing Johnny Storm,
- 17:03Speaker 4: I don't know his name, but the guy from the
- 17:05Speaker 4: found footage, he had tons of charisma. I dig it.
- 17:10Speaker 4: And I don't have a problem with him being Johnny Storm.
- 17:12Speaker 4: It's just when you take... the dozen little changes that
- 17:16Speaker 4: they've made and you put all that together, it's like, it's,
- 17:20Speaker 4: is it really Fantastic Four anymore? Like you, this is
- 17:23Speaker 4: your origin story and your origin story is so divergent
- 17:28Speaker 4: from the core story that it's like, how do you
- 17:32Speaker 4: really call it Fantastic Four anymore?
- 17:34Speaker 1: I was hoping that like Captain America was secretly Johnny
- 17:36Speaker 1: Storm and that was going to like come out when
- 17:38Speaker 1: he's fighting old Johnny and he's like.
- 17:40Speaker 6: Flame off!
- 17:41Speaker 2: At some point they should cross over and make him
- 17:43Speaker 2: both characters.
- 17:43Speaker 1: And you know what? Just make him go Saiyan at
- 17:45Speaker 1: the same time.
- 17:46Speaker 4: And then make him ride a skateboard like his part
- 17:49Speaker 4: in Scott Pilgrim.
- 17:50Speaker 2: Onto a train.
- 17:51Speaker 1: Okay, that is one of the best scenes in Scott Pilgrim.
- 17:53Speaker 4: Oh my gosh, it is.
- 17:55Speaker 2: It is really good.
- 17:56Speaker 1: Ted too?
- 17:57Speaker 4: Yeah, sure. Let's do it.
- 18:00Speaker 1: I gotta keep this ADD like it's meant to be.
- 18:04Speaker 1: In a world where there's dolls.
- 18:06Speaker 4: I can't believe you guys didn't think of that. Did
- 18:07Speaker 4: you even think of, like, come on, the Flash Gordon stuff?
- 18:10Speaker 4: Did you at least think that was funny in part one?
- 18:11Speaker 4: It was funny.
- 18:13Speaker 5: Happily Ever After only exists in fairy tales.
- 18:17Speaker 4: Yet a talking teddy bear is about to marry his girlfriend.
- 18:21Speaker 1: I now pronounce you teddy bear and wife.
- 18:23Speaker 4: Let me kiss the bear. Proving that Americans don't give
- 18:27Speaker 4: a crap about anything.
- 18:31Speaker 5: So I got some big news.
- 18:32Speaker 2: Tammy Lynn and I are gonna have a baby.
- 18:34Speaker 1: That's awesome.
- 18:35Speaker 2: Wait, how do you guys? We need a sperm donut.
- 18:39Speaker 2: What is that?
- 18:39Speaker 5: What are you doing?
- 18:40Speaker 7: I'm getting ready to it.
- 18:40Speaker 4: What do you mean you're getting ready?
- 18:41Speaker 5: What are you doing?
- 18:42Speaker 4: It's so family-guided movie.
- 18:44Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 18:45Speaker 2: Okay, before anything even to do with the movie itself,
- 18:49Speaker 2: trailers in general, I kind of feel like I don't
- 18:51Speaker 2: need to see that movie now.
- 18:52Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't need to see the movie.
- 18:54Speaker 2: In two minutes and 37 seconds, it's told me the
- 18:56Speaker 2: entire movie.
- 18:57Speaker 1: You've summed up the whole thing.
- 18:59Speaker 2: That aside, what do you want to do?
- 19:01Speaker 4: I think the problem with the first one was plot.
- 19:03Speaker 4: I almost feel like it had to just be a
- 19:06Speaker 4: slice of life. Like, look, there's no... Because the last
- 19:09Speaker 4: half an hour of the first one was really bad.
- 19:11Speaker 4: The first hour, hour and a half, I thought it
- 19:13Speaker 4: was really funny. I was into it. And then I
- 19:15Speaker 4: even kind of forget what the plot was. The guy,
- 19:20Speaker 4: whatever reason they were chasing the guy, there was this
- 19:22Speaker 4: huge chase scene in the stadium. And I was just like, okay,
- 19:25Speaker 4: we haven't had a joke in over 20 minutes now.
- 19:27Speaker 4: This is a comedy. I don't care about wrapping up
- 19:30Speaker 4: the plot.
- 19:31Speaker 2: And if you're past an hour and a half, you're
- 19:33Speaker 2: already in trouble, probably, if it's a comedy. It's rare
- 19:35Speaker 2: that you can make a comedy work that long.
- 19:37Speaker 1: 90 pages, people. That's all you get. He jerks off
- 19:41Speaker 1: at the register. We just want more of that.
- 19:45Speaker 2: I don't know. So that's my issue is mostly Seth
- 19:48Speaker 2: MacFarlane because I feel like he has moments where he's
- 19:52Speaker 2: really smart and then he will completely dumb that down
- 19:56Speaker 2: for the other 75% of what he does and that's
- 19:58Speaker 2: for a family guy.
- 19:59Speaker 1: He's really smart when Star Wars is involved.
- 20:01Speaker 2: Even those I feel like are kind of lame oh
- 20:03Speaker 2: the robot chicken though the robot chicken's awesome that's not
- 20:06Speaker 2: Seth MacFarlane Seth Green is kind of awesome Seth MacFarlane.
- 20:10Speaker 2: I feel like those are so like, it's almost so
- 20:13Speaker 2: close to Star Wars. I'm like, I could just watch
- 20:16Speaker 2: the movie. Like why? I don't understand why he bothers.
- 20:19Speaker 2: It's like, not that funny. So I don't know. I, I've,
- 20:25Speaker 2: I have a lot of issues with him because I
- 20:26Speaker 2: feel like he dumbs so much stuff down and everything
- 20:29Speaker 2: has to be like the most guttural base humor ever.
- 20:33Speaker 4: Obviously having an entire, yeah. That first season of Family
- 20:37Speaker 4: Guy and it was just, yeah. Like, there was episodes.
- 20:41Speaker 4: I mean, things have really changed since the first time
- 20:46Speaker 4: Family Guy was on.
- 20:47Speaker 2: Because now they're super mainstream, really.
- 20:49Speaker 4: Yeah, I was going to say, you can do it
- 20:50Speaker 4: all day long. But back then, I remember, you know,
- 20:53Speaker 4: when it got cut, I kind of understood why. I
- 20:55Speaker 4: was like, you know, they didn't want to get sued. Like,
- 20:57Speaker 4: they were, the episode with the Million Man March and stuff,
- 21:00Speaker 4: I was like, oh, my gosh, they're so going to
- 21:01Speaker 4: get in trouble for this. And they didn't. But that
- 21:04Speaker 4: was what was so, I think, shocking it. at first
- 21:07Speaker 4: with it was just like, Oh my God, you can't
- 21:09Speaker 4: do this on TV. Like, how are you getting away
- 21:10Speaker 4: with it?
- 21:11Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 21:13Speaker 2: I feel like, again, it's just so dumbed down. And
- 21:17Speaker 2: so like, everything has to be like, does our comedy
- 21:21Speaker 2: not progress past 11 years old? Like the gross out
- 21:25Speaker 2: humor on almost all. That's why I like, I will
- 21:28Speaker 2: attack almost every modern comedy because they're all just stupid,
- 21:32Speaker 2: gross out stuff. And I'm like, Hmm. There's a fine
- 21:35Speaker 2: line for that. I'm not saying you can't find humor
- 21:38Speaker 2: in that, but I'm like, there's more than that, right?
- 21:41Speaker 2: I would hope.
- 21:42Speaker 4: Did you watch Million Ways to Die in the West?
- 21:45Speaker 5: No.
- 21:45Speaker 1: It was brilliant only once. I never need to see
- 21:48Speaker 1: it again, but seeing it was fucking phenomenal.
- 21:51Speaker 4: He hated it.
- 21:52Speaker 3: It's fine.
- 21:53Speaker 1: I don't give a fuck.
- 21:53Speaker 4: I was entertained.
- 21:55Speaker 1: But you don't want to ever watch it again?
- 21:56Speaker 4: It was almost the same thing.
- 21:57Speaker 2: Well, one.
- 22:00Speaker 4: Obviously this is personal just for me, I didn't really
- 22:02Speaker 4: dig him.
- 22:03Speaker 1: No, yeah. I hated him, but I loved everything else.
- 22:05Speaker 4: I don't think he should have been in it. I
- 22:06Speaker 4: think the things coming out of his mouth and everything
- 22:08Speaker 4: was funny, but he just kind of looks... This is
- 22:12Speaker 4: going to be bad, but he just looks creepy to me.
- 22:13Speaker 4: There's something weird.
- 22:15Speaker 1: He looks like Papa John.
- 22:17Speaker 4: He looks like someone who photoshopped someone in real life.
- 22:20Speaker 4: It's like somehow he's walking around photoshopping himself. It's like
- 22:23Speaker 4: you don't know what's going on.
- 22:26Speaker 2: He's a writer that wants to be a star. He's
- 22:28Speaker 2: a Tarantino. He wants to host the Oscars, and it's like,
- 22:31Speaker 2: you know what? You're not charismatic enough to be that
- 22:34Speaker 2: level of celebrity, but he thinks he is, and he keeps...
- 22:38Speaker 2: He's got enough money coming at him now that they'll
- 22:41Speaker 2: still back him to be the lead in his own thing.
- 22:43Speaker 2: I can buy my Oscar.
- 22:45Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 22:45Speaker 1: Get off my Oscar.
- 22:47Speaker 2: He's not going to get an Oscar, but he can
- 22:49Speaker 2: get his own movie, and he puts himself in the
- 22:51Speaker 2: center of it.
- 22:52Speaker 1: But about a million days to die, whatever it is.
- 22:54Speaker 4: A million ways to die.
- 22:54Speaker 1: Whatever. Can we just... confirm that like of the top
- 22:59Speaker 1: 10 cameos.
- 23:01Speaker 4: Oh that back to the future scene was awesome that
- 23:05Speaker 4: back to the future scene was.
- 23:07Speaker 1: And then even like it had that one and then
- 23:09Speaker 1: it had jamie foxx at the end which.
- 23:11Speaker 4: Oh right right i forgot about that.
- 23:13Speaker 1: So that for me was just like because when we
- 23:15Speaker 1: get to the back to the future reference i was
- 23:17Speaker 1: like already at a place where i'm like It's funny.
- 23:19Speaker 1: Like all the people dying for the bowl and all
- 23:22Speaker 1: the random shit.
- 23:23Speaker 4: Didn't you know it was coming though?
- 23:24Speaker 7: No.
- 23:24Speaker 4: As he's walking up on the shed.
- 23:26Speaker 2: Well, see, I didn't know.
- 23:27Speaker 4: But as he's walking up on the shed, you know,
- 23:29Speaker 4: and I heard the electrical sparks and stuff. I was like,
- 23:32Speaker 4: surely there's no way he's going to do a Back
- 23:34Speaker 4: to the Future thing here. I was like, oh my gosh.
- 23:37Speaker 1: It blew my mind. So that was genius. And then
- 23:39Speaker 1: it really got me with the Django Unchained thing at
- 23:43Speaker 1: the end. I was dying.
- 23:44Speaker 2: But again... When all you do is reference other things.
- 23:48Speaker 1: Well, that's all he does. That's all he's good at.
- 23:50Speaker 4: He's infamous for being the 80s throwback guy. Everything is like,
- 23:53Speaker 4: hey guys, remember this?
- 23:54Speaker 2: You have no original comedy of your own. That's what
- 23:58Speaker 2: all those lame date night and epic movie, all that crap.
- 24:04Speaker 2: What they're trying to do is what Airplane was doing.
- 24:06Speaker 2: But Airplane had nothing but original comedy. And it was
- 24:09Speaker 2: making fun of the premise. But all the jokes were
- 24:12Speaker 2: their own, and they were funny.
- 24:13Speaker 4: God, those movies still hold up, too. Airplane absolutely holds
- 24:16Speaker 4: up today.
- 24:17Speaker 1: You'd think it's not funny when I say he literally
- 24:19Speaker 1: throws poop at the fan.
- 24:20Speaker 2: Oh, my gosh.
- 24:21Speaker 1: But when you see it, it's hilarious. And, of course,
- 24:23Speaker 1: but don't call me Shirley, and I die to this day.
- 24:27Speaker 2: That stuff is funny because it's smartly written. Even when
- 24:30Speaker 2: it's dumb, like, 11-year-old humor, it's put together really smart.
- 24:35Speaker 1: So, like, seriously, though, the inflation of the autopilot... I
- 24:39Speaker 1: will go down in history forever.
- 24:40Speaker 2: Yes.
- 24:42Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure that's one of our wallpapers on our computer.
- 24:44Speaker 10: It is.
- 24:45Speaker 1: And it's so good. But also it's like the little things.
- 24:47Speaker 1: Like when he's like, they got sick from eating the
- 24:50Speaker 1: fish and it's the perfect fish skeleton. That for some
- 24:53Speaker 1: reason just gets me. It's like, that's a Looney Tunes humor.
- 24:57Speaker 2: Definitely.
- 24:57Speaker 1: But it works.
- 24:57Speaker 2: And well, again, Looney Tunes was written genius.
- 25:00Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 25:01Speaker 2: Like it's so damn smart.
- 25:02Speaker 1: It's so smart.
- 25:02Speaker 2: But then that's what I started looking at. Like when
- 25:05Speaker 2: you saw like, Top Secret was trying to do it.
- 25:08Speaker 2: Did it all right. Naked Gun started out doing it
- 25:11Speaker 2: all right.
- 25:11Speaker 4: The first Naked Gun.
- 25:12Speaker 2: Everything from that point wanted to rip off that style
- 25:15Speaker 2: and got worse and worse.
- 25:16Speaker 1: As he thrust his purple-headed warrior into her... Quivering mound
- 25:20Speaker 1: of love pudding.
- 25:21Speaker 2: Every time. I feel like that's what all the movies
- 25:24Speaker 2: became after that. Everything was like, oh, well, that's how
- 25:27Speaker 2: you do humor. You just reference crap that we've seen
- 25:29Speaker 2: before and do an exact ripoff.
- 25:31Speaker 1: Every sci-fi movie from henceforward will be that Harrison Ford
- 25:35Speaker 1: one with the androids.
- 25:36Speaker 2: That Blade Runner.
- 25:36Speaker 1: That Blade Runner.
- 25:37Speaker 4: How dare you forget the name of it.
- 25:39Speaker 1: Whatever. I've got the European steel.
- 25:41Speaker 4: Oh, you know that. Is it remake or sequel that's happening?
- 25:44Speaker 4: Ridley Scott keeps talking about all of it.
- 25:46Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 25:46Speaker 2: He keeps doing that with all of his. He's postponing Prometheus.
- 25:50Speaker 4: You know, he should just do the book. I mean,
- 25:52Speaker 4: was it Do Robots Count Electric Sheep? Whatever the book.
- 25:58Speaker 4: It's as great as Blade Runner is. There was a
- 26:00Speaker 4: lot of stuff. A lot more stuff in the book.
- 26:03Speaker 4: If they just did one based on the book, it
- 26:05Speaker 4: would be different enough to feel new, but still you
- 26:07Speaker 4: don't have to use the word reboot.
- 26:08Speaker 1: What do you think is going to happen when that
- 26:09Speaker 1: comes out the same time that Scarlett Johansson Ghost in
- 26:12Speaker 1: the Shell comes out? Because Ghost in the Shell is
- 26:14Speaker 1: Blade Runner.
- 26:16Speaker 4: How about that crossover?
- 26:19Speaker 1: There you go.
- 26:19Speaker 4: Harrison Ford. Harrison Ford's character can't tell if the ghost
- 26:23Speaker 4: in the shell girl is human or not.
- 26:24Speaker 1: There you go. Get off my police car.
- 26:28Speaker 2: Blade Runner played by Christopher Pratt.
- 26:31Speaker 1: No, it won't be Christopher Pratt. It should be Shia LaBeouf.
- 26:34Speaker 2: Oh, God, no. What have we done to deserve Shia LaBeouf? Oh,
- 26:47Speaker 2: be ready, for he is coming soon.
- 26:54Speaker 10: Now, all on one super horror showcase, over four and
- 26:59Speaker 10: a half hours of non-stop, all-scare terror, starring Christopher Lee,
- 27:05Speaker 10: Lex Barker, John Ashley. and the all dead inhuman creatures
- 27:10Speaker 10: from the tombs of doom. Chiller Carnival of Blood. Go
- 27:16Speaker 10: to see Chiller Carnival of Blood in super future color
- 27:21Speaker 10: rated G.E.
- 27:24Speaker 2: Hey guys, look what I've got.
- 27:26Speaker 8: Check out these awesome earbuds I'm using right now.
- 27:30Speaker 2: Look at that. That's wood right there.
- 27:32Speaker 4: That's actual wood.
- 27:34Speaker 2: Why would you use wood to make technology?
- 27:36Speaker 8: Because they're It's like they're steampunk.
- 27:40Speaker 2: Is steampunk really wood? I thought it was more of
- 27:42Speaker 2: a brass thing.
- 27:43Speaker 8: Well, you got to work the wood in to hold
- 27:45Speaker 8: the brass together. These are the fancy high-end steampunk versions
- 27:49Speaker 8: with a mic built in, mind you. But yeah, where
- 27:53Speaker 8: would I get these you wonder?
- 27:55Speaker 6: Tweaked Audio.
- 27:59Speaker 7: Way to pitch.
- 28:00Speaker 2: You want to hear more, you say? TweakedAudio.com.
- 28:05Speaker 10: Hey.
- 28:06Speaker 8: They are available in three styles and seven colors.
- 28:09Speaker 4: And they sound pretty damn good.
- 28:10Speaker 8: I kind of forgot because I hadn't had my old
- 28:13Speaker 8: pair in a while and I was using the knockoff
- 28:15Speaker 8: crappy ones I bought at the store. And I got
- 28:18Speaker 8: these and put them in.
- 28:19Speaker 2: I was like, oh, shit, that's right.
- 28:20Speaker 1: These are actually really good.
- 28:22Speaker 2: So they are professional quality earbuds, mind you.
- 28:25Speaker 8: And, you know, noise reducing, compatible with your iPods and
- 28:30Speaker 8: most phones, unless you have a dumb phone.
- 28:32Speaker 2: You should really get a smartphone, not a dumb phone, right?
- 28:35Speaker 8: So anyway, the basic rundown here, if you need yourself
- 28:38Speaker 8: some earbuds, tweakedaudio.com.

- 28:53Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 28:54Speaker 2: As well you should be. tweakedaudio.com. Use the Meltdown code.
- 28:58Speaker 4: That's all I'm saying.
- 29:08Speaker 1: Hi, this is Robert Hayes, and I'm listening to Movie Meltdown.
- 29:12Speaker 6: It's part of your problem, you know.
- 29:23Speaker 2: You haven't seen enough movies.
- 29:25Speaker 5: All of life's riddles are answered in the movies. And now,
- 29:28Speaker 5: on with the show.
- 29:38Speaker 3: Wasn't already made in Africa with the show okay next
- 29:46Speaker 3: on trailer trash trademark another 80s throwback being remade by
- 29:51Speaker 3: the original guy who did the 80s one maybe now
- 29:54Speaker 3: that he got money so i'm just gonna go out
- 29:56Speaker 3: and preface this with this is my dream scenario.
- 30:01Speaker 1: And I can already say without a doubt, it's going
- 30:04Speaker 1: to be one of the greatest movies of all time.
- 30:05Speaker 4: I'm glad he got the funding to do a lot
- 30:07Speaker 4: of action. Cause early on it was talking about animation.
- 30:09Speaker 4: Cause apparently like, well.
- 30:11Speaker 1: It's too big scale to do live action without the budget.
- 30:14Speaker 1: But still it's like, I'm glad that he's, you know,
- 30:17Speaker 1: back when they did it, when was there? It was 72, 74,
- 30:19Speaker 1: something like that. It's whatever.
- 30:22Speaker 2: Somewhere in the mid seventies on that first one.
- 30:24Speaker 1: But it's like back then, you know, they wrote it,
- 30:27Speaker 1: To be like this whole thing that you could not
- 30:29Speaker 1: do CGI-wise. And it was like the Matrix reloaded or whatever.
- 30:32Speaker 2: And that's why the first one's so weird. Because they
- 30:34Speaker 2: didn't have a budget.
- 30:35Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 30:35Speaker 2: It's like there's times when it's normal. There's times when
- 30:38Speaker 2: it's post-apocalyptic.
- 30:39Speaker 1: It doesn't make sense. But now it's like not only
- 30:42Speaker 1: can it be continuous with the post-apocalyptic thing, but also
- 30:46Speaker 1: it can be fucking crazy.
- 30:48Speaker 4: Dude, it looks. It looks nuts. This trailer looks rad.
- 30:50Speaker 4: Like this is full chub.
- 30:53Speaker 1: Mad Max Fury Road starring racist Mel Gibson. He does
- 30:57Speaker 1: not mind saying colored people. My name is Max.
- 31:08Speaker 4: My world is fire and blood.
- 31:20Speaker 1: Welcome to the post-apocalyptic world. My name's Max.
- 31:25Speaker 4: Do you think they're going to get him the cameo
- 31:26Speaker 4: in it? Mel Gibson's not going to pop up somewhere necessarily.
- 31:29Speaker 1: I think he is.
- 31:30Speaker 4: I have a feeling most of this movie is going
- 31:31Speaker 4: to look just like that, though.
- 31:32Speaker 1: Oh, it's going to look like that, yeah.
- 31:34Speaker 4: It'll probably all be desert and desert hills.
- 31:36Speaker 7: Yep.
- 31:38Speaker 1: And one-armed Charlize Theron.
- 31:40Speaker 4: Man, these wrecks. Them doing the thing on the poles
- 31:43Speaker 4: to go from car to car. This stuff looks so fantastic.
- 31:49Speaker 1: Why would you step on a man in the desert
- 31:51Speaker 1: and then drag him behind a car? I like her
- 31:54Speaker 1: robot arm. Even Keanu Reeves would love this cinematography. This cinematography.
- 32:00Speaker 1: It is nuts, though, for real. Some of these shots
- 32:04Speaker 1: are just disgusting.
- 32:06Speaker 4: I'm just completely on board with the aesthetic. Just what
- 32:09Speaker 4: they're wearing, the way the cars are. It's so stylized.
- 32:11Speaker 4: It looks so fantastic.
- 32:12Speaker 1: And so stylized. It's so good. I love the visuals.
- 32:17Speaker 1: The visuals are phenomenal.
- 32:19Speaker 4: That shot right there with the double javelins.
- 32:22Speaker 1: It's like when those first Ong Bak movies came out,
- 32:25Speaker 1: you know, that they were just murdering the stunt doubles.
- 32:30Speaker 4: So not to completely bypass this, but does this mean
- 32:32Speaker 4: we're going to get a Thunderdome? We better get a Thunderdome.
- 32:35Speaker 4: Does that mean like when they do a future movie,
- 32:37Speaker 4: was Thunderdome canon to his core story or was that
- 32:40Speaker 4: just them doing whatever they wanted with Tina Turner?
- 32:44Speaker 2: Well, I mean, that was him too, right? Didn't he
- 32:47Speaker 2: already do Thunderdome? Because we're not rebooting, right? This is
- 32:50Speaker 2: a continuation.
- 32:52Speaker 4: Oh, is it?
- 32:52Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't know. But, I mean, it's
- 32:54Speaker 2: the same director. Why would he remake his own movie?
- 32:57Speaker 2: Not that that's never been done.
- 32:58Speaker 1: No, I think that they're making him remake it, but
- 33:00Speaker 1: I don't know for sure. I just feel like they
- 33:02Speaker 1: wouldn't continue on.
- 33:03Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 33:04Speaker 2: See, here's what I was hoping, and this obviously isn't
- 33:06Speaker 2: true because they have him playing Max. But I was like,
- 33:10Speaker 2: it would be so awesome, because they're bringing a different
- 33:12Speaker 2: actor in anyway, if he just is a new character-
- 33:15Speaker 2: And he's in that same world and you get like
- 33:17Speaker 2: this whole like his journey through the whole three-fourths of
- 33:20Speaker 2: it and you get to the end and there's an
- 33:22Speaker 2: old crazy Max played by Mel Gibson. That's like the
- 33:26Speaker 2: king of their new world. And like he has to like.
- 33:29Speaker 1: Spouting off racial slurs.
- 33:30Speaker 4: Yeah, probably.
- 33:32Speaker 1: It's a desert world, but it's better without the beep.
- 33:35Speaker 2: He's got to be like power mad.
- 33:37Speaker 1: We got rid of money because all the beep wanted it.
- 33:40Speaker 2: He's become the new king. He's taken over. Like he's
- 33:43Speaker 2: become power mad and he has to like destroy Max.
- 33:46Speaker 2: I thought that would have been like amazing. So I
- 33:48Speaker 2: don't think that's the way they're going, but it also looks, that.
- 33:51Speaker 1: Would be really good.
- 33:52Speaker 2: It would. Like, I'm like, why did they not do that?
- 33:54Speaker 2: They missed an opportunity there.
- 33:55Speaker 1: Keanu just heard that in his mind is blown.
- 33:58Speaker 4: See most of what I've, what I know about this
- 34:01Speaker 4: right now is, is just word of mouth and friends
- 34:03Speaker 4: and coworkers and stuff like that. And someone told me,
- 34:07Speaker 4: you know, I can't say this is fact, but someone
- 34:10Speaker 4: told me that this was like a reboot. Like, It
- 34:13Speaker 4: was him wanting to start over at full control, take
- 34:17Speaker 4: full advantage of the technology now, and do how he
- 34:21Speaker 4: really visualized it in his head. That sounds a little
- 34:24Speaker 4: too Lucas-y.
- 34:24Speaker 2: I don't like that.
- 34:25Speaker 4: That's not what I.
- 34:27Speaker 2: Really wanted to do.
- 34:27Speaker 4: Yes, Madam Maxon!
- 34:29Speaker 1: We'll go through the deserts!
- 34:31Speaker 2: Don't step in the poodoo.
- 34:33Speaker 4: There's always a bigger fish.
- 34:37Speaker 2: So, I don't know. I mean, that looks amazing. And again,
- 34:42Speaker 2: now he's got the budget to do it. So they
- 34:44Speaker 2: almost have to go out of their way to make
- 34:46Speaker 2: it terrible. They have to try. They have to try
- 34:49Speaker 2: really hard to screw this up.
- 34:50Speaker 4: Throw in a little lens flare. But again, sort of
- 34:53Speaker 4: contrary to what we were just kind of saying earlier,
- 34:55Speaker 4: I have no idea what that movie's about. That trailer
- 34:58Speaker 4: is so all action, is so all visual aesthetic that
- 35:02Speaker 4: I don't know what that movie's about at all.
- 35:05Speaker 2: I do like the little tribute there. Because if you watch,
- 35:09Speaker 2: you can catch that weird car with the spikes. that
- 35:11Speaker 2: is totally The Cars That Ate Paris. Really? Old Australian.
- 35:16Speaker 2: I just watched that about a year and a half ago,
- 35:19Speaker 2: and it's awesome. It's a weird middle-of-nowhere Australia movie, and
- 35:25Speaker 2: there's a bunch of cars that come in at the end,
- 35:27Speaker 2: most of which are just wrecked up, look like crash-up
- 35:31Speaker 2: derby kind of cars. But then there's this one that's
- 35:33Speaker 2: like a bug that's covered in these weird spikes for
- 35:36Speaker 2: no good reason. It just comes out of nowhere. It
- 35:38Speaker 2: is a weird movie. And they worked it in there.
- 35:42Speaker 2: Like there was a nice little Australian tribute there. So
- 35:45Speaker 2: I kind of like that.
- 35:47Speaker 4: So now we just need some Death Race 2000 tributes.
- 35:50Speaker 4: I'm all for that. The Machine Gun Joe. Frankenstein. I'm
- 35:54Speaker 4: on time.
- 35:55Speaker 2: I'm Frankenstein. But it was, we had, years ago we
- 35:59Speaker 2: had director JT Petty on. And he was, he's a
- 36:01Speaker 2: big fan of Mad Max. And he was like, he
- 36:04Speaker 2: was the one that told me this. And I was like,
- 36:05Speaker 2: oh God, he might be right. He said that Babe
- 36:08Speaker 2: is a retelling of Mad Max.
- 36:10Speaker 9: Actually, it's almost embarrassing for me watching my movies, how
- 36:13Speaker 9: much of an effect those two movies have. Yeah, and
- 36:17Speaker 9: from there, I mean, Babe is still a pretty touchstone movie.
- 36:21Speaker 9: So a lot of George Miller in there. That one's
- 36:24Speaker 9: visually amazing, really. You wouldn't see that coming.
- 36:27Speaker 5: No, absolutely.
- 36:28Speaker 9: It's also, I mean, shockingly touching for what it is.
- 36:30Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 36:31Speaker 9: And pretty much the same basic story as Road Warrior
- 36:35Speaker 9: or your Jimbo or any of those. I mean, it's like, yeah,
- 36:37Speaker 9: Road Warrior comes to town with one skill and uses
- 36:40Speaker 9: that to fight two warring factions, you know, and it's
- 36:43Speaker 9: Babe can talk. Babe's tongue is his sword.
- 36:46Speaker 4: Are we talking about the one with the pig?
- 36:48Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 36:49Speaker 2: Babe.
- 36:49Speaker 1: My mind is.
- 36:50Speaker 2: Well, keep in mind, it's directed by the same guy.
- 36:53Speaker 2: That's the same man who's making this movie.
- 36:55Speaker 4: He made Babe.
- 36:56Speaker 2: He made Babe.
- 36:57Speaker 1: That'll do, pig.
- 36:58Speaker 2: That's right.
- 36:59Speaker 4: See, now I'm trying to remember to plot to Babe.
- 37:01Speaker 4: It's been so long.
- 37:03Speaker 2: Our main character has special skills that he's the only
- 37:06Speaker 2: one that can do what needs to be done. He
- 37:08Speaker 2: comes in. He takes over. The more he went into it,
- 37:12Speaker 2: I was like, he's kind of right.
- 37:14Speaker 4: Oh, my gosh.
- 37:15Speaker 2: It's an interesting concept, at least.
- 37:17Speaker 4: So does that mean that we can do a weird
- 37:19Speaker 4: mashup where we take This Mad Max, but we grabbed
- 37:22Speaker 4: the audio from Babe, and we have him talking as
- 37:25Speaker 4: Babe the pig, and we have other people talking like
- 37:28Speaker 4: the sheep and the old man.
- 37:30Speaker 2: If you have free time.
- 37:31Speaker 4: Mad Babe.
- 37:31Speaker 2: You should put that together. Babe Max.
- 37:33Speaker 4: Max Babe. Max Babe.
- 37:35Speaker 5: Mad Babe.
- 37:36Speaker 2: Hashtag Max Babe.
- 37:39Speaker 1: Dave Lugo set us up with a controversy at Cannes
- 37:41Speaker 1: Film Festival.
- 37:42Speaker 4: Oh, all right. So, like, I've read two articles on
- 37:45Speaker 4: this so far. Like, I assume this happened recently.
- 37:50Speaker 5: So.
- 37:51Speaker 4: whoever has Jupiter ascending, is that another, is that Sony
- 37:54Speaker 4: Warner brothers? It doesn't matter. Whoever made Jupiter ascending thought
- 37:58Speaker 4: that they were going to kind of do this kind
- 38:00Speaker 4: of Easter egg ish kind of thing. And with like
- 38:04Speaker 4: no announcement show Jupiter ascending at the cans film festival
- 38:09Speaker 4: under some kind of mystery title, like essentially like when
- 38:11Speaker 4: they sold the tickets to it, it was essentially like,
- 38:13Speaker 4: you know, mystery project X from, you know, universal studios
- 38:17Speaker 4: or whoever it's from. So people, didn't know what they
- 38:20Speaker 4: were about to see. They just knew they were going
- 38:22Speaker 4: to see someone, a movie, you know, from these people.
- 38:24Speaker 4: So they go in there and it's Jupiter ascending. And
- 38:27Speaker 4: apparently it's so bad. People are walking out.
- 38:31Speaker 1: I believe that.
- 38:32Speaker 4: Like walking out. And it, it, the way that, um,
- 38:35Speaker 4: they legally kind of tied his stuff down. Like no
- 38:39Speaker 4: one can officially do a review on it yet. Even
- 38:42Speaker 4: though people were there that do reviews, they can't do
- 38:46Speaker 4: any reviews yet, but it's, like apparently kind of like the,
- 38:50Speaker 4: you know, just them questioning people on the way out
- 38:51Speaker 4: to theater and stuff. It tanked to the cans crowd.
- 38:55Speaker 4: Now I get that to kind of bougie elite kid crowd.
- 38:58Speaker 4: So maybe it's just that, but the fact that like
- 39:01Speaker 4: almost everyone came out, like apparently the biggest thing was
- 39:06Speaker 4: everyone said it's confusing. They said that the plot's confusing
- 39:09Speaker 4: and they don't quite understand what's going on.
- 39:12Speaker 2: So basically matrix two and three.
- 39:14Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 39:15Speaker 2: The same issue everyone had with Matrix 2 and 3.
- 39:18Speaker 2: What do they do?
- 39:19Speaker 4: Two, I could grip. Three was the one where I
- 39:21Speaker 4: was like, okay.
- 39:21Speaker 1: Why are they jumping?
- 39:22Speaker 4: I don't.
- 39:23Speaker 2: They need to, I don't know. They need to bring
- 39:25Speaker 2: in like a third party to be like hey does
- 39:28Speaker 2: this make sense.
- 39:28Speaker 4: I had to check their stuff writers i had to
- 39:31Speaker 4: read like these huge essays that people wrote about the
- 39:35Speaker 4: matrix trilogy to fully understand it like these people had
- 39:37Speaker 4: to like i mean these huge essays and all the
- 39:40Speaker 4: time reading like why am i reading all this just
- 39:42Speaker 4: to understand a movie But I got there and I'm like,
- 39:44Speaker 4: holy F. You completely failed to portray your story if
- 39:48Speaker 4: that is what that was supposed to be saying.
- 39:50Speaker 2: But they did have a huge overarching story from the beginning,
- 39:55Speaker 2: I've heard. Matrix was a giant plan that wasn't just
- 40:00Speaker 2: one movie.
- 40:00Speaker 4: It was all part of their original plan. Back in
- 40:03Speaker 4: the day, Suncoast, did you guys ever play The Matrix
- 40:06Speaker 4: in the store?
- 40:06Speaker 6: No.
- 40:07Speaker 4: The Matrix VHS tape we had was like some kind of,
- 40:11Speaker 4: it had some kind of bonus feature thing at the
- 40:13Speaker 4: end where it's interviews with the cast and stuff. Lawrence
- 40:16Speaker 4: Fishburne has this spot where they're just like, it's just
- 40:19Speaker 4: him just talking about what he thinks in a movie. And,
- 40:21Speaker 4: you know, when they first approached him with it. And
- 40:24Speaker 4: I remember, you know, this is all before the second,
- 40:26Speaker 4: third movie came out. And I've always remembered this and
- 40:28Speaker 4: it's always like just amplified in my head as the
- 40:30Speaker 4: movies came out. And I realized how right he was.
- 40:32Speaker 4: But with the first one, you know, he was talking
- 40:34Speaker 4: about how smart it is. And he's like, you know,
- 40:38Speaker 4: I know you won't think it now. He's like with
- 40:40Speaker 4: the first movie, you know, it's not a smart kid movie,
- 40:44Speaker 4: but he's like, the overall story is so smart. And
- 40:48Speaker 4: so many people are not going to get it. And
- 40:51Speaker 4: like his words, he's like, I'm shocked. We're making these movies.
- 40:54Speaker 4: Like he said, he's like, it's so smart. I'm shocked.
- 40:57Speaker 4: We're making these movies. Cause nobody's going to get it.
- 41:00Speaker 4: Nobody at all is going to get it. And he
- 41:02Speaker 4: was completely right. Like as two and three came out, Man,
- 41:06Speaker 4: it just turned to hate. With every additional movie, it
- 41:08Speaker 4: was just hate.
- 41:10Speaker 2: Yeah, it wasn't like they just slapped on.
- 41:12Speaker 4: Say it, the Dark Lord.
- 41:14Speaker 2: They didn't just slap on those stories. Because, yeah, that's
- 41:16Speaker 2: what I heard. They went into the pitch room with
- 41:19Speaker 2: the entire arc of all three movies. And they were
- 41:21Speaker 2: just like, okay.
- 41:23Speaker 1: Well, didn't they originally want to make just the second
- 41:25Speaker 1: one first? Because it had the most action. And then
- 41:27Speaker 1: they're like, the Wachowskis were fighting. Like, no, we have
- 41:29Speaker 1: to start off at one.
- 41:30Speaker 4: Or they did some stuff that I guess is technically... Again,
- 41:34Speaker 4: this is from the special stuff. The executive producer was
- 41:38Speaker 4: joking about how they kind of came in with this
- 41:42Speaker 4: mentality that here are scenes that cannot be cut, period.
- 41:47Speaker 4: These scenes have to be in the movie. And they're like,
- 41:50Speaker 4: you don't understand how editing works. You don't get to
- 41:52Speaker 4: come in and tell us what definitely stays in. Apparently,
- 41:55Speaker 4: they fought tooth and nail for the sex scene in
- 41:58Speaker 4: part two. When Trinity and Neo, during the rave, have that...
- 42:02Speaker 4: From day one, they're like, the rave scene in the
- 42:04Speaker 4: second movie will happen. Period. You will not cut that.
- 42:09Speaker 4: And it's just in retrospect, it's like, why was that
- 42:11Speaker 4: scene so important to you guys? That was the scene
- 42:14Speaker 4: that felt so weird. It became a music video in
- 42:16Speaker 4: the middle of the movie, and it's like, why are we...
- 42:18Speaker 4: Why is everybody dry humping? Why do they have to
- 42:21Speaker 4: see this?
- 42:22Speaker 2: It's an art in their brains.
- 42:25Speaker 1: And now back to Jupiter Ascending.
- 42:28Speaker 4: You're the perfect hunting machine.
- 42:32Speaker 7: Fearless.
- 42:34Speaker 2: Relentless.
- 42:37Speaker 5: You've been searching for one thing your whole life. And
- 42:42Speaker 5: she's down there.
- 42:46Speaker 4: Make sure this is the right one.
- 42:48Speaker 3: It's her.
- 42:49Speaker 7: Good.
- 42:50Speaker 5: Killer.
- 42:54Speaker 1: He's gonna die.
- 42:54Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 42:55Speaker 4: He dies in the first half hour. He dies in everything.
- 43:00Speaker 4: For England, Mila. It must be on his resume. Like,
- 43:04Speaker 4: you know, like, talent's dying. I'm great at dying in movies.
- 43:10Speaker 4: I'll give you half an hour. I'll get him to
- 43:12Speaker 4: like me just enough to be upset that I just died.
- 43:15Speaker 1: I got my flying shoes.
- 43:17Speaker 4: You know, even just from watching this trailer, I feel
- 43:19Speaker 4: like this is one of those things where it's... It's.
- 43:20Speaker 1: John Carter, too. Come on. It's going to suck.
- 43:23Speaker 2: No. John Carter was good.
- 43:25Speaker 4: Yeah, I was going to say. Dude, that's a whole
- 43:27Speaker 4: other conspiracy. Did you read about, like, the whole Disney
- 43:30Speaker 4: thing on that?
- 43:31Speaker 2: Oh, they did.
- 43:32Speaker 4: Disney was like, yeah, they shot themselves in the foot
- 43:35Speaker 4: on purpose. They were so upset that that movie did well,
- 43:39Speaker 4: they did everything they could to snuff it. It's so weird.
- 43:41Speaker 2: They went out of their way to screw that movie.
- 43:44Speaker 4: That movie is the inspiration for so much of what
- 43:48Speaker 4: is sci-fi today. And it's like they did not get
- 43:52Speaker 4: behind it at all.
- 43:53Speaker 2: So much.
- 43:55Speaker 4: See, I'm just confused. It's like we got dragons, we
- 43:57Speaker 4: got spaceships, we got jet shoes. I mean, I don't...
- 44:04Speaker 4: What is going on?
- 44:06Speaker 1: Mila Kunis.
- 44:08Speaker 4: I just feel like someone stole a video game script
- 44:11Speaker 4: and made a movie of it instead.
- 44:12Speaker 2: He might have it, actually.
- 44:14Speaker 1: We'll tie the CGI sequences together with Mila Kunis.
- 44:18Speaker 4: Is this Mass Effect 4?
- 44:19Speaker 1: I just don't know how they put Channing Tatum on it.
- 44:23Speaker 1: He's only good at dancing.
- 44:24Speaker 4: You know, I hate that I'm going to have to
- 44:25Speaker 4: watch him as Gambit. Because I love Gambit and I'm
- 44:28Speaker 4: going to have to watch that movie. Even if it sucks,
- 44:30Speaker 4: I'm going to have to watch it. But I'm not.
- 44:32Speaker 4: Unless he loses weight. I've never imagined Gambit that thick.
- 44:36Speaker 4: Gambit's like, he's a thief. He's like an average build
- 44:40Speaker 4: kind of guy. He's like not a muscle head. Like what?
- 44:44Speaker 2: And in this one, he looks more male strippery than
- 44:47Speaker 2: his male strippers. Like that weird makeup he's got going on.
- 44:50Speaker 2: Isn't that your stage makeup?
- 44:51Speaker 4: His facial hair feels so forced. His little goatee. Like
- 44:54Speaker 4: it doesn't look natural at all.
- 44:55Speaker 5: No, it's not.
- 44:56Speaker 4: There's a strangeness to it. It's almost like it's longer
- 44:58Speaker 4: than his hair because he's got a buzz cut and
- 45:00Speaker 4: it's like his facial hair is longer than his hair
- 45:03Speaker 4: and that always looks weird.
- 45:04Speaker 2: I don't know. Where do you think the problems are
- 45:06Speaker 2: with this movie?
- 45:08Speaker 4: I can tell just from the trailer it looks chaotic.
- 45:11Speaker 1: The first problem is that it's been episode two'd. It's
- 45:14Speaker 1: entirely CG'd.
- 45:15Speaker 2: Yeah, it looks so CG'd.
- 45:17Speaker 4: I have a feeling that is going to be 90% action,
- 45:20Speaker 4: 10% story and at 10% story it's probably not going
- 45:22Speaker 4: to matter.
- 45:23Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 45:25Speaker 2: Well, it just looks like the trailer looks convoluted. Like,
- 45:28Speaker 2: I don't even know where we're going in this trailer.
- 45:32Speaker 2: It just looks like a lot of like.
- 45:33Speaker 4: Which is by location. You know, it's like you have
- 45:35Speaker 4: all these spaces, all these shots in space and these spaceships.
- 45:38Speaker 4: And then all of a sudden you're back in New
- 45:39Speaker 4: York City flying around skyscrapers in your jet shoes.
- 45:43Speaker 1: Like, how is all this connected? I would want to
- 45:46Speaker 1: see it more if whoever tied the Interstellar trailer together
- 45:50Speaker 1: had done this. Where it's just. Matthew McConaughey driving and
- 45:53Speaker 1: crying in the spaceship.
- 45:56Speaker 2: See, I felt like that was a terrible trailer because
- 45:58Speaker 2: I almost didn't want to see Interstellar because of the trailer.
- 46:00Speaker 1: But it gave nothing away.
- 46:01Speaker 2: Yeah, but at the same time, it doesn't even look
- 46:03Speaker 2: like they go to space. I thought the whole thing
- 46:06Speaker 2: was lead up to him launching and that was the
- 46:08Speaker 2: entire movie. And so much of the movie is in
- 46:10Speaker 2: space and that's what I ended up liking. So I'm like,
- 46:13Speaker 2: I almost didn't go see it because of what they
- 46:15Speaker 2: presented in that trailer. There's a fine line of like, yes,
- 46:18Speaker 2: please don't tell me too much. But at the same time,
- 46:20Speaker 2: At least give me an idea of where we're going
- 46:22Speaker 2: to be for the movie. Like, I don't know. That
- 46:24Speaker 2: one was almost on the wrong side of that line
- 46:27Speaker 2: for me.
- 46:27Speaker 1: At least with this trailer, I don't have to go
- 46:28Speaker 1: see the movie.
- 46:29Speaker 4: It's true.
- 46:30Speaker 2: Because you won't understand it even if you do.
- 46:32Speaker 1: And Janning Tatum doesn't strip, so I'm not interested in going.
- 46:36Speaker 2: The next one's coming, don't worry.
- 46:37Speaker 4: But does Mila Kunis strip? Mila Kunis.
- 46:41Speaker 1: We have nothing good to say about this.
- 46:43Speaker 4: It's just not my kind of movie. To me, you know,
- 46:47Speaker 4: I don't. I can't really back it up, but my
- 46:50Speaker 4: gut impression tells me it's going to be a very generic, sci-fi,
- 46:55Speaker 4: get butts in a theater kind of movie. No integrity.
- 46:58Speaker 4: It's not a movie. Even if you liked it this summer,
- 47:01Speaker 4: it won't be a movie you like next summer. There's
- 47:04Speaker 4: nothing long-lasting. I really kind of don't have time for
- 47:07Speaker 4: those kind of movies anymore.
- 47:08Speaker 1: Because nobody goes back and watches Ben Affleck's Paycheck.
- 47:13Speaker 2: Hey, it's no Reindeer Games, but what are you going
- 47:14Speaker 2: to do?
- 47:15Speaker 1: That was rough.
- 47:17Speaker 2: Rough. So do we want to round out with Jurassic World?
- 47:20Speaker 1: Do you want to round out with Age of Ultron instead?
- 47:22Speaker 2: I don't know. What do you think?
- 47:24Speaker 1: I think it's getting too loud in here for you
- 47:25Speaker 1: to do many more of these.
- 47:26Speaker 5: I don't think.
- 47:27Speaker 2: Pick one and go out and we'll save the next
- 47:29Speaker 2: one for the next.
- 47:30Speaker 4: You know what's ironic is there's a lot of rumors
- 47:33Speaker 4: that they're going to sneak a Batman vs. Superman trailer
- 47:36Speaker 4: into Super Bowl. Apparently there's a lot of internet chatter
- 47:39Speaker 4: that like that's going to be the big surprise is
- 47:42Speaker 4: that the trailer is going to be during the Super Bowl.
- 47:45Speaker 2: I don't know if I can.
- 47:45Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 47:47Speaker 2: Like, I'll see it, I guess, but I don't know
- 47:50Speaker 2: why they need to be salivating over it. Like, it'll
- 47:53Speaker 2: be out when it comes out.
- 47:54Speaker 4: This is like the greatest train wreck ever about to happen.
- 47:57Speaker 2: What, there's Ultron?
- 47:58Speaker 4: No, Batman v Superman. It's going to be the age
- 48:00Speaker 4: of Ultron.
- 48:01Speaker 6: Right?
- 48:02Speaker 5: The real Michael.
- 48:02Speaker 4: I can't believe it's only like three, four months now. Like,
- 48:04Speaker 4: it's so close. It's so close.
- 48:08Speaker 5: May?
- 48:08Speaker 4: Isn't it May?
- 48:09Speaker 1: And then it's going to be so horrible when Apocalypse
- 48:11Speaker 1: comes out.
- 48:13Speaker 4: Oh, did you hear about the casting? For Jean Grey, Cyclops,
- 48:19Speaker 4: and Storm. Yeah, they're young. Sansa from Game of Thrones
- 48:22Speaker 4: is Jean Grey. That's how young we're talking. That's how young.
- 48:26Speaker 4: They're making them young. The other two, I didn't recognize
- 48:29Speaker 4: the names, but I looked at the pictures and they
- 48:31Speaker 4: are all like teenagers. Jean Grey, Cyclops, and Storm.
- 48:36Speaker 2: Teenagers.
- 48:37Speaker 1: X and Magneto are their age groups. Fassbender and whatever
- 48:40Speaker 1: his name is. Then it makes sense.
- 48:42Speaker 2: It also makes sense now, and we've seen this with
- 48:44Speaker 2: Harry Potter, if you're going to make a whole bunch
- 48:45Speaker 2: of movies, you better cast them young enough that you
- 48:47Speaker 2: can keep them around. If it's a two, three year
- 48:50Speaker 2: break in between each, that you can come back and
- 48:53Speaker 2: they're not 30 and 40 years old when they're already
- 48:55Speaker 2: too old to be playing the parts anymore. Or for
- 48:58Speaker 2: anybody to go see them.
- 48:59Speaker 4: Well, that's why, from what I understand, that's why in
- 49:03Speaker 4: Game of Thrones, Bran's character in a TV show, they
- 49:07Speaker 4: already have him at the point where he is in
- 49:10Speaker 4: the last book. Way ahead of where the show, where
- 49:13Speaker 4: he would be with the rest of the show because
- 49:15Speaker 4: he's growing so quick. They're like, we need to hurry
- 49:17Speaker 4: up and get you through your parts before you just
- 49:20Speaker 4: straight up look like a grown man because he's supposed
- 49:22Speaker 4: to be a little kid whose legs don't work and
- 49:25Speaker 4: yeah he's getting so big they're like we're just gonna
- 49:27Speaker 4: you know streamline your plot part to the end so
- 49:31Speaker 4: we can just leave you off screen for a couple
- 49:33Speaker 4: years because he's just growing too big.
- 49:37Speaker 2: When you're dealing with actors getting older, making sequels.
- 49:41Speaker 4: Growing pubic hair. Depends on what kind of movie you're making.
- 49:44Speaker 4: But my question, again, being a comic kid, so does
- 49:50Speaker 4: this mean that we're going to get Hugh Jackman making
- 49:52Speaker 4: out with Sansa? Absolutely.
- 49:54Speaker 1: It has to happen.
- 49:56Speaker 4: I mean, think about that love triangle. Because the kid
- 49:59Speaker 4: playing Cyclops looks like a kid. So you're going to
- 50:01Speaker 4: have this grown-ass Hugh Jackman trying to steal this 17-year-old,
- 50:05Speaker 4: 17-year-old girlfriend. That's going to be super creepy.
- 50:11Speaker 2: Having just rewatched that first one, I was like, they're
- 50:14Speaker 2: definitely playing that Rogue is totally kind of crushing on him.
- 50:19Speaker 2: And he at least pulls out that he's more into
- 50:22Speaker 2: Jean Grey. But I kind of forgot how much They
- 50:25Speaker 2: were sort of setting that up where like she was
- 50:27Speaker 2: into him and like she was really.
- 50:30Speaker 4: If you're making a Gambit movie, then you need to
- 50:33Speaker 4: straighten out your rogue Gambit. And because it like it's
- 50:37Speaker 4: Rogan Gambit. It's not Rogan Wolverine. It's Rogan Gambit. You
- 50:40Speaker 4: need to get that shit straight if you're doing a
- 50:42Speaker 4: Gambit movie. And we don't need we don't need. paquin
- 50:46Speaker 4: anymore she can she can go on we can recast
- 50:48Speaker 4: we can you can go do your your true.
- 50:50Speaker 2: Blood stuff during the last time she had her little cameo.
- 50:53Speaker 4: You had your chance with redneck vampires she had like
- 50:55Speaker 4: 10 seconds what was it just her like kissing johnny
- 50:58Speaker 4: in a hallway or something it was just like 10 seconds.
- 51:00Speaker 2: And like her name was way up in the credits
- 51:02Speaker 2: too because now she's a vampire star you.
- 51:05Speaker 4: Know because she blows vampires so you know butts in
- 51:09Speaker 4: seats that's what are we ready for age of ultron
- 51:13Speaker 4: So ready.
- 51:14Speaker 2: If you think you can handle it.
- 51:17Speaker 4: This vulnerable world needs something more powerful than any of us.
- 51:26Speaker 4: Everyone creates the thing they dread. Ultra in the flesh.
- 51:37Speaker 10: No matter who wins or loses, trouble always comes around.
- 51:43Speaker 2: You've meddled with something you don't understand.
- 51:47Speaker 8: We have no place in the world.
- 51:58Speaker 2: Oh, boy. $ 300 million.
- 52:03Speaker 4: So, as we're watching this... Okay, wait. There might be
- 52:06Speaker 4: a throw-in. Someone said that, you know, how geeks are.
- 52:11Speaker 4: We're gonna, like, go frame by frame through trailers and
- 52:14Speaker 4: try to see everything.
- 52:15Speaker 2: Everyone has, yes.
- 52:16Speaker 4: I think it's the third one. There is a claim
- 52:20Speaker 4: that you can see a Grey Hulk at some point.
- 52:22Speaker 4: Someone claims that if you go frame by frame.
- 52:25Speaker 1: During the Super Bowl.
- 52:26Speaker 4: This is going to be so good. Oh, South Africa.
- 52:30Speaker 1: God, I just really hope they kill Hawkeye.
- 52:33Speaker 4: I hate Hawkeye so much.
- 52:34Speaker 5: Shut up.
- 52:35Speaker 1: I hate Hawkeye.
- 52:36Speaker 4: Shut your face. God, James Spader's voice is so perfect.
- 52:40Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 52:41Speaker 4: An Olsen. I love that Olsen so much.
- 52:44Speaker 2: I love Elizabeth Olsen. She is so awesome.
- 52:46Speaker 1: Oh, that other kid. Is this Godzilla again? I'd be
- 52:49Speaker 1: sick if Godzilla was in this movie.
- 52:52Speaker 2: Gollum.
- 52:53Speaker 4: I wonder who he's going to be. You don't know
- 52:56Speaker 4: who he's going to be?
- 52:57Speaker 8: No.
- 52:57Speaker 1: He's a set up for Black Panther. He's Black Panther's villain.
- 52:59Speaker 4: Oh, shut your face.
- 53:01Speaker 5: I promise.
- 53:02Speaker 1: Not him. He's the villain from Black Panther.
- 53:04Speaker 5: Oh, okay.
- 53:04Speaker 4: I thought you said he was going to be Black Panther.
- 53:05Speaker 1: He's not black.
- 53:06Speaker 4: He's not colored.
- 53:07Speaker 1: He's not colored.
- 53:09Speaker 4: So word on the street is that Scarlet Witch takes
- 53:13Speaker 4: control of the Hulk.
- 53:14Speaker 2: Nice.
- 53:15Speaker 4: And that's why this fight's going on. And if you look,
- 53:18Speaker 4: his eyes look red or something. There's something to kind
- 53:20Speaker 4: of show he's under an influence. I'm very excited. Hulkbuster
- 53:26Speaker 4: armor looks so awesome.
- 53:27Speaker 1: Hulkbuster is going to be the cosplay of the next decade.
- 53:31Speaker 3: Oh, God.
- 53:31Speaker 4: You're not going to be able to walk in conventions
- 53:34Speaker 4: because there's going to be so many big Hulk-y people
- 53:37Speaker 4: under Hulkbuster armor.
- 53:39Speaker 1: Battle Damage Hulkbuster.
- 53:40Speaker 2: How will they make that into a bikini shape? That's
- 53:43Speaker 2: your job. Get on that. Internet has requested.
- 53:48Speaker 4: Someone will find a way. For sure.
- 53:51Speaker 2: There's probably somebody with one right now.
- 53:54Speaker 1: It probably just involves paint.
- 53:56Speaker 4: I'm so stoked for this. And the thing is, you know,
- 53:58Speaker 4: with Whedon and everybody involved with stuff, there's so much
- 54:01Speaker 4: you don't see in these trailers.
- 54:02Speaker 1: Yeah, it's the best.
- 54:02Speaker 4: I mean, it's the thing. As excited as you got
- 54:04Speaker 4: for the first Avengers trailer and this trailer, You got
- 54:07Speaker 4: in the theater and there was so much that wasn't
- 54:10Speaker 4: in the trailer that you know that's happening. Like, you
- 54:12Speaker 4: haven't seen Vision at all. And Vision's in it. Like,
- 54:15Speaker 4: Vision will be in it. So, you have a whole
- 54:19Speaker 4: character you haven't shown at all. He was a big
- 54:21Speaker 4: deal character. Vision's a very big deal.
- 54:24Speaker 2: Yeah, Emily Olsen's awesome. That was one of the few. Like,
- 54:27Speaker 2: I was kind of surprised at first when she started
- 54:29Speaker 2: taking these huge properties. But I'm like, I don't care
- 54:32Speaker 2: because she's such a good actress that I'm like, They
- 54:35Speaker 2: can put her in all that stuff. I don't care.
- 54:37Speaker 4: Well, and Kick-Ass Kid playing Quicksilver. How awesome was that?
- 54:41Speaker 2: It wasn't awesome last time.
- 54:42Speaker 1: It wasn't awesome in Godzilla.
- 54:46Speaker 4: I like him. I like him in Kick-Ass.
- 54:48Speaker 2: I liked him.
- 54:49Speaker 4: In the first Kick-Ass.
- 54:50Speaker 1: When he's like a little skinny nerd, I like him.
- 54:53Speaker 4: Although I do think X-Men kind of set the bar
- 54:55Speaker 4: in Quicksilver because I liked the kid from American Horror Story.
- 54:59Speaker 4: I thought he was fantastic. I thought that might have
- 55:02Speaker 4: been the best part of of that movie was his character.
- 55:07Speaker 2: It's also played really smart because it definitely leaves you
- 55:09Speaker 2: wanting more. If they would have, like, drug him along
- 55:11Speaker 2: and made him, like, well, maybe we'd have gotten tired
- 55:13Speaker 2: of it. But because we get maybe that 15-minute run,
- 55:15Speaker 2: it's like, dude, that was awesome.
- 55:17Speaker 4: Well, and that scene, you know, when they're escaping from
- 55:21Speaker 4: the Pentagon was so genius because... Going back to the
- 55:28Speaker 4: last episode again, that was one of those things that
- 55:31Speaker 4: justifies the power. Because again, with Flash, you're like, cool,
- 55:34Speaker 4: you can run fast. Quicksilver, cool, you can run fast.
- 55:37Speaker 4: But this is what running fast and moving fast can do.
- 55:40Speaker 4: It was like, this is how that power is significant.
- 55:44Speaker 4: He just fucked that room up in like half a second.
- 55:48Speaker 4: I mean, they were about to be gunned down. It
- 55:52Speaker 4: was a really good way of establishing Quicksilver and making
- 55:54Speaker 4: him seem like someone that matter, not just a gimmick power.
- 55:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 55:58Speaker 4: And so it'll be interesting to see if Marvel can
- 56:00Speaker 4: back that up too. And cause he's not really in
- 56:03Speaker 4: that trailer. You see Scarlet Witch, but.
- 56:06Speaker 2: She's such a marketable person in general. She's a name now.
- 56:11Speaker 4: And she's really strong in the Marvel universe.
- 56:13Speaker 2: She's very strong.
- 56:14Speaker 1: Is it amazing that they haven't really shown her, you know,
- 56:17Speaker 1: how she makes people think other people are dead. They
- 56:19Speaker 1: haven't like sold the cracked shield from Captain America or
- 56:24Speaker 1: the busted shield. Iron Man armor, it's like, I cannot
- 56:27Speaker 1: wait till we get closer to the movie and they
- 56:29Speaker 1: start releasing that shit. And then with Vision, it's like.
- 56:32Speaker 4: It's going to be awesome. It's going to go down.
- 56:34Speaker 4: I cannot wait. I just, I wonder what, what would
- 56:38Speaker 4: your teaser be at the end of the second one?
- 56:40Speaker 2: Because, you know, like.
- 56:41Speaker 1: They're probably going to not go towards Thanos and go
- 56:43Speaker 1: towards all of the new properties that are coming. I
- 56:46Speaker 1: guarantee it's going to be Black Panther because the guy,
- 56:48Speaker 1: Andy Serkis, is like the bad guy from Black Panther.
- 56:51Speaker 1: So it's got to tie into.
- 56:52Speaker 4: Do you think that hidden clip at the end is
- 56:54Speaker 4: going to be.
- 56:55Speaker 1: Linking up Black Panther? It wasn't Iron Man. When they
- 56:59Speaker 1: get Tony Stark, maybe it wasn't Iron Man 2 or something.
- 57:03Speaker 1: They got him in the room and you can see
- 57:04Speaker 1: all the TVs with all the maps. That was the
- 57:09Speaker 1: thing for that movie.
- 57:09Speaker 2: Right.
- 57:10Speaker 1: And it shows Africa and this.
- 57:12Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 57:12Speaker 4: Yeah, they've been hinting at it for a while.
- 57:15Speaker 1: So I think it's going to be more of that.
- 57:16Speaker 4: Wasn't in the first Avengers when Tony Stark's first pulling
- 57:20Speaker 4: up all the footage of the other superhero stuff, isn't
- 57:22Speaker 4: one of those in Africa?
- 57:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 57:25Speaker 4: Because it looks like news footage around the world and
- 57:27Speaker 4: he sees a lot of stuff and I think... The ore...
- 57:30Speaker 4: The vibranium?
- 57:31Speaker 1: Yeah, I think it's vibranium.
- 57:33Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm stoked. Why can't we have Angela Bassett as Storm?
- 57:37Speaker 4: That's all I want. I just want Angela. She would
- 57:39Speaker 4: be awesome.
- 57:40Speaker 1: She would be awesome.
- 57:41Speaker 4: And she could still do it. She could still kill it.
- 57:44Speaker 2: I'm okay with it. We missed the window for Iman.
- 57:48Speaker 2: Because somebody suggested that years ago. I was like, that's
- 57:50Speaker 2: a good look. I don't know about her acting, but
- 57:52Speaker 2: that's a good look. But she's way too old now.
- 57:55Speaker 2: Anything else we need to cover in this episode? I
- 58:01Speaker 2: don't think we can. Patrick's house is a party 24-7.
- 58:07Speaker 2: All right. I guess that is enough for trailer trash
- 58:10Speaker 2: this week. Are we still calling it that? That's enough
- 58:12Speaker 2: for Pete71258. Otherwise, that about does it. We will return
- 58:17Speaker 2: next time. Same geek feed. Thanks for listening.
- 58:42Speaker 3: Like in the morning.
- 58:43Speaker 6: Of a crazy night Like.
- 58:47Speaker 3: Some mother and daughter in a night of chaste No way,
- 58:56Speaker 3: no way, no way, no way Coming soon.
- 59:02Speaker 1: Coming soon Oh yeah.
- 59:00Speaker 3: The same old babies with the same old toys They
- 59:04Speaker 3: were screaming when.
- 59:25Speaker 6: Bye. Bye.
- 1:00:27Speaker 3: Coming soon Coming soon On the other side On the
- 1:00:34Speaker 3: train Coming soon Coming soon.
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: So we're going to record something.
- 1:01:07Speaker 5: Nice.
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: So you can't talk too loud. And we're going to
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: be nerds and talk to the TV.
- 1:01:12Speaker 4: What are you going to record?
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: It's an internet show. I don't know how to make
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: it make sense. You just got to be quiet. I
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: don't know how to make it. You got to be quiet.
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: I don't understand the concept. Three more trailers.
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: What's it about?
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: We just make fun of the trailers.
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: I think he needs to get a mic. Mic him up.
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: He will talk to anybody.
- 1:01:32Speaker 5: Mic him up.
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: You just watch it, and then we comment on it.
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: I think you need to run it over with the Tacominators.
- 1:01:42Speaker 6: Okay, here we go.
- 1:01:43Speaker 4: I'm sorry about this.
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: It means our episode's going to end real quick.
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: Are you doing karaoke?
- 1:01:49Speaker 7: Yes.
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: I like karaoke.
- 1:01:51Speaker 7: This episode is a production of Movie Meltdown, produced and
