- 2:29Awesome. Well, I know you do.
- 2:31I know you think it's awesome. And ladies and gentlemen, we
- 2:34have a lot of fun with this guy. This guy's been on a show quite
- 2:36a few times. He's become one of those big
- 2:39writers and analysts right now for the very own Denver Broncos.
- 2:43We are now talking to Mile High Huddle Broncos and NFL analysts,
- 2:47the one, the very own Lance Sanderson.
- 2:51Lance, what's up, man? Not a whole lot.
- 2:54Thanks for having me back on the show, guys.
- 2:56It's been a minute. I unfortunately had some family
- 2:58issues come up the last time I was supposed to come on the
- 3:00show. But glad to be here.
- 3:02Excited to talk to Denver Broncos with you guys and
- 3:04hopefully we, you know. I flood up some.
- 3:07Stuff every now and then, but guess what?
- 3:08I'm here bringing some freaking heat.
- 3:10Tonight, now I'm going to say something.
- 3:11I don't know if anybody knows who Lance is.
- 3:13He's been on our show quite a few times.
- 3:15When Lance came on the show, he wasn't the biggest known analyst
- 3:19for the Broncos. And over the last three years
- 3:22he's grown significantly. And now his his podcast is doing
- 3:26significantly well. He's doing a lot of things with
- 3:30the Denver Broncos. He's one of their big lead
- 3:32analysts and we're very happy to have him on the show.
- 3:35And the Broncos are a very good team right now, expected to win
- 3:38their division. What does that tell you, Travis?
- 3:40I'm just kidding. Anyways, I want to get into
- 3:43obviously the division as the Kansas City Chiefs have been
- 3:46dominating that division over the last eight years.
- 3:49It's been absolutely dominated by Andy Reed, Patrick Mahomes,
- 3:53Travis Kelsey and their goons. You have Bo Nicks who had a
- 3:57sensational rookie year, 25 year old kid really developed right
- 4:01in front of her eyes the second-half of the season, took
- 4:03his team to the playoffs and it just was sensational all the way
- 4:07through. Was making so many significant
- 4:09throws and I think could be a superstar in this league with
- 4:13Sean Payton developing them. What were your thoughts last
- 4:16year and where do you see him with his development this year?
- 4:19Well, I, I think the big thing here, Errol, is that what you
- 4:22saw out of Bonics was mostly linear growth.
- 4:25I mean, obviously the first week against the the Seattle Seahawks
- 4:27was an atrocious outing for him. It took a couple weeks for him.
- 4:31The Pittsburgh game was really bad. 345 weeks into the season.
- 4:35You finally actually started to see him get a little bit more
- 4:38comfortable within the offense, getting the play calls out
- 4:41because Sean Payton, you know how he is.
- 4:43You guys talked about the Saints earlier that Sean Payton's play
- 4:46calls are like 25 or 30 words long.
- 4:48He's got multiple different formations, he's got multiple
- 4:51different alignments, he's got multiple different instructions
- 4:54for every single player. And it takes a lot to just to be
- 4:57able to learn that. But one thing with Bo Nix was
- 5:00when the in the pre draft process, Sean Payton really
- 5:03liked his ability to process all that information, relay it back
- 5:06out quickly, then go out on the field and translate that to what
- 5:10was actually supposed to be happening.
- 5:11It took a while, but when you watch the season go, that linear
- 5:15growth, it was a not, I don't want to say a straight line.
- 5:18The Indianapolis game where he threw 3 interceptions, that was
- 5:20that was a really bad game for him.
- 5:22Great defensive game plan from the Indianapolis Colts.
- 5:24But he continued to grow and continue to grow and continue to
- 5:28grow. And everyone's all excited about
- 5:30Jaden Daniels. But Bonex finished the season
- 5:32with more passing yards, more passing touchdowns and less
- 5:35interceptions than Jane Daniels, the guy who unanimously won the
- 5:39the NFL rookie of the year this last season.
- 5:42So he's doing such a great job in terms of just being a a
- 5:46competitor. I mean, I got a bunch of like a
- 5:48handful of stats here. You know, when you, when you
- 5:49talk about like completion percentage over expected, one of
- 5:52the biggest metrics you can talk about in terms of quarterback
- 5:54play -2.4% completion percentage over expected, 32nd in the NFL.
- 5:59That doesn't sound great though, right?
- 6:00Like that sounds pretty bad. 32 quarterbacks in the NFL, he's
- 6:0332nd. Pat Mahomes was at -1 point
- 6:07730th in the league. Josh Allen -.3 percent, 23rd in
- 6:11the league. Go back and see why completion
- 6:14percentage over expense expected matters.
- 6:17There's a lot of screen passes in the quick passing game.
- 6:19I mean, 31% of his quick passing attempts went on screenplay.
- 6:23It was most in the NFL by three percentage points.
- 6:26But he also led the NFL in yards passing outside of the pocket.
- 6:29Per NFL Next Gen. Stats, he was 12th in the NFL in
- 6:33in terms of success rate and throws that went at least 20
- 6:36area yards. This dude had some struggles
- 6:38early, but down the stretch he became what is a very capable
- 6:42starting quarterback. And now that he's more like more
- 6:44focused on and more familiar with this offense, I think he's
- 6:48going to have a big jump in Year 2.
- 6:50So last time you were on the show, you were mentioning you
- 6:52wanted the Broncos to focus on running back in tight end in the
- 6:54offseason to get better in the middle of the field.
- 6:57They draft RJ Harvey in the second round of the draft.
- 6:59They signed JK Dobbins, and then they signed Giants legend Evan
- 7:01Ingram. What are your thoughts of those
- 7:03moves? Well, first and foremost, Evan
- 7:06Ingram is one of those players that while he is like qualified
- 7:10as a tight end, he doesn't do necessarily very well as like an
- 7:13inline blocker. He's more of a like a receiving
- 7:15tight end. They're going to line him up in
- 7:16the slot this year and go back to the the preseason game
- 7:20against the Arizona Cardinals. Yeah, it's preseason.
- 7:22Bonex wasn't the one throwing the football, but they ran A5
- 7:25yard drag route that he turned into a 58 yard run after the
- 7:27catch. It was a freaking amazing play.
- 7:30So that to me right off the bat is a just a huge boon for this
- 7:33passing attack. And going back to Bonex here,
- 7:36the Broncos threw their tight ends the second fewest of any
- 7:39team in the NFL on a on a percentage basis, behind or
- 7:42ahead of only the New York Giants, who had the worst tight
- 7:46end group in the NFL last season.
- 7:47So to get an explosive playmaker to add to what a Courtland
- 7:50Sutton to add to Martin Mims to add to a a third round draft
- 7:54pick and Pat Bryant, who I think is going to have a monster
- 7:57season this year as their number 2 wide wide receiver that that's
- 8:00just another big get to add more explosive plays for this for
- 8:04this Broncos offense. Now going to to the the running
- 8:07backroom. You obviously talked about RJ
- 8:09Harvey, they bring in JK Dobbins from the Los Angeles Chargers.
- 8:13Obviously, you know what 5th year player out of Ohio State,
- 8:15He was an explosive player at Ohio State, was one of the in,
- 8:20in terms of explosive runs, was one of the best explosive
- 8:23runners at Ohio State and had 900 yards in 14 games for the
- 8:27Chargers this last season. But then you add on RJ Harvey,
- 8:3060th overall or 61st overall, something like that for the
- 8:33Broncos in the second round. There is only one player in
- 8:37college football last season that had more rushes of 15 plus
- 8:42yards than RJ Hardy. Can you guys name that player
- 8:45for me just one time? Genti.
- 8:48It's Ashton Genti who went six overall to the freaking Los
- 8:50Angeles Raiders or the Las Vegas Raiders.
- 8:52Like this Broncos team. They they they brought in 86% of
- 8:58the roster that went to the playoffs last season and then
- 9:01they add players like Evan Ingram, RJ Harvey, JK Dobbins to
- 9:05the offense. They bring in Talano Hufonga and
- 9:08Drake Greenlott to add to the defense that was one of the best
- 9:10in the NFL last season. This Broncos team, in the way
- 9:13that it is structured right now, has a very good opportunity to
- 9:17not only make the playoffs, but make some noise in the playoffs
- 9:19coming up this year. Yeah, Lance, we, we talked about
- 9:22what you felt like they needed. Do you think they did enough and
- 9:25brought in some of the guys in the names that you said to not
- 9:28only like you to to go and and make some noise, but to to
- 9:32really do some damage on both sides of the ball?
- 9:34Yeah, absolutely. And Job, I'm glad that you're
- 9:37here tonight because last time I was on and was talking with you,
- 9:40you said your son is a huge Broncos fan.
- 9:43Huge. I'm curious to what his thoughts
- 9:46are. I mean, you're obviously a
- 9:47Lincoln NE guy and the pitching in Nebraska you did was
- 9:50legendary in Omaha World Series. But but just going back to this
- 9:55Broncos team, I mean, they added enough explosiveness to the
- 9:58offense and hopefully Bo Nicks has that that year or two jump
- 10:02that you want to see from quarterbacks.
- 10:04But defensively, that's really where it's at.
- 10:06And coach. So Aaron Fischer is in in the
- 10:09chat here saying I want to hear about Jon and Baron, the 20th
- 10:12overall pick for this Broncos defense.
- 10:13You're talking about a player that has inside, outside
- 10:15versatility. He can play the safety right
- 10:18now. It doesn't sound like he's going
- 10:19to be a starter for this defense because Jaquan McMillan, who was
- 10:22an outstanding slot quarterback for them, is probably going to
- 10:25start at least for the beginning part of this season.
- 10:28So John A Baron is another player that brings physicality
- 10:31to this defense. It sounds like that's what the
- 10:32Broncos were really trying to focus on the most on the
- 10:35defensive side of the football was shoring up the interior run
- 10:39lanes. In terms of what is happening at
- 10:41the second level, bring in Drake Greenlaw, bring in a guy like
- 10:43Talano Hufonga who plays better in the box.
- 10:46And then you bring in a guy like Jade Baron who has, like I said,
- 10:48that inside, outside versatility, but is an
- 10:50absolutely elite tackler at the second level.
- 10:53This defense that was already very good last year just got a
- 10:57lot better. As everybody knows, we are
- 11:00talking to Mile High Huddle, Broncos and NFL analysts Lance
- 11:04Sanderson. You know, Lance, we look at the
- 11:07Broncos and they're an organization that needed to
- 11:10rebuild. They added Russell Wilson.
- 11:12They paid him a lot of money. They traded for him.
- 11:15And obviously if they fell flat on their face, then they made a
- 11:18trade with the Saints to bring in Sean Payton, who retired,
- 11:22walked away from the game. They gave up a significant
- 11:25amount to bring Sean Payton in. He took on Russell Wilson.
- 11:28It didn't work for for a year. They finally took on that money
- 11:32and say go ahead. Well, we'll take care of the
- 11:34money. Just get the hell out of here.
- 11:36They went for Bonex. They and and now you see the
- 11:39team, it's starting to transform into Sean Payton's team.
- 11:43It took a while, it took a couple of years, which he said
- 11:46it was going to do. And now they have a chance right
- 11:49now to dethrone a team like the Kansas City Chiefs that have
- 11:53been dominant for the last eight seasons in in a division that
- 11:57was really them the the Kansas City Chiefs and everybody else.
- 12:01Now you see Kansas City, they're getting older.
- 12:04They're obviously they're superstar players like Jones,
- 12:07Patrick Mahomes is still fairly young, but Kelsey is on the tail
- 12:10end of his career. They I, I don't know how long
- 12:13Hunt and Pacheco have in the NFL.
- 12:16They have an offensive line that they decided at the, you know,
- 12:19in the offseason to trade Toony to the Chicago Bears.
- 12:22They added maybe a little bit more talent to the offensive
- 12:25line, but they're an older team than they have been.
- 12:29You look at now, the Broncos, they're one of the youngest
- 12:31teams, one of the more talented, young own talented teams right
- 12:34now in the NFL. Where do you?
- 12:36See them match up against the Kansas City Chiefs this year.
- 12:40Well, quite honestly, I think the Broncos have an opportunity
- 12:42to dethrone the Chiefs, but until I actually see it, I can't
- 12:46really believe it. I mean, the Kansas City has won
- 12:49the division, if not 8-9, if like 9 out of the last ten
- 12:53seasons, if not even all 10. Yeah, the Broncos Super Bowl was
- 12:56the last time the Broncos won the division.
- 12:58Yeah, exactly. And man, that doesn't feel like
- 13:01a decade ago. Like quite honestly, I remember
- 13:03that like I was like yesterday, to tell you the truth.
- 13:06But with Kansas City, I mean, the big thing is obviously that
- 13:09offensive line is, is the real big issue.
- 13:11You you move on from Joe Toomey at left cards and play left
- 13:14tackle in the Super Bowl and did a really good job filling in on
- 13:17on that left tackle there. They go out and they get Josh
- 13:19Simmons, who have heard a lot of raving reviews from the people I
- 13:23talked with in Kansas City. And it sounds like that
- 13:25offensive line is going to be better.
- 13:28But the Denver Broncos led the NFL last season with 63 sacks.
- 13:32It was a franchise record. 61 1/2 of those sacks are back on
- 13:37this roster right now. The only player that had 1 1/2
- 13:40sacks that is not back is linebacker Cody Barton, who the
- 13:43Broncos upgraded to Drake Greenlaw.
- 13:47That's a tell me that that doesn't make you excited about
- 13:51what this Broncos team can bring and when with Patrick Mahomes,
- 13:55sure, he does a great job like extending plays, moving
- 13:57vertically throughout the pocket.
- 13:59Edge pressure is really where it's at.
- 14:01It causes him the big time disruptions.
- 14:03You've got Nick Benito, who came off a career, a career high 13
- 14:061/2 sacks last season. He was #3 in the NFL.
- 14:09He's looking at getting a a big time contract extension probably
- 14:12following this season. By the way, I've got some inside
- 14:14sources on this that it sounds like he wants to wait until at
- 14:17least Micah Parsons gets his deal done, but also that he
- 14:21wants to wait until after the season.
- 14:22Kind of a cruded deal. He's betting betting on himself
- 14:24for the most. But 13 1/2 sacks coming off the
- 14:27edge, then you get a guy like Jonathan Cooper who had 8 1/2
- 14:31sacks. He may not be the most explosive
- 14:32pass rusher in the NFL, but if that's your number two guy, you
- 14:35get what, 21 sacks? If you if you have those numbers
- 14:38together between those two guys coming off the edge and with
- 14:42Patrick Mahomes, when you have edge pressure coming around the
- 14:45outside, that's where it is like one of his biggest weak marks is
- 14:48as a quarterback. So to me, I think defensively
- 14:52that you add Johnny Baron, you add Greenlawn, you you add
- 14:56Talano Hufanga. Rashi Rice is suspended for the
- 14:59first six games. It doesn't matter for the
- 15:01Broncos, but you got to see how fast he's going to be able to
- 15:03catch it back up. Denver's defense has always been
- 15:06very capable of stopping the homes.
- 15:07I mean, go back to the game last season where the Broncos were in
- 15:10Kansas City drove down to actually go and kick a
- 15:14game-winning field goal. It was blocked.
- 15:16It was a 35 yard game-winning field goal.
- 15:18The Broncos and Bo Nicks took a 4 minute drive down to like 3
- 15:22seconds left to beat the Chiefs in Kansas City.
- 15:25Denver's there like they can absolutely compete with Kansas
- 15:28City in this division. It's just until I actually see
- 15:31it and actually watch it happen. Not a 30.
- 15:34You don't want to jinx yourself. OK, that's fine.
- 15:36I'll jinx yourself for you, all right?
- 15:39They're absolutely unless there's some catastrophical
- 15:42injury that the Broncos are going to have, the Broncos
- 15:46should win the division. They're much better than Kansas
- 15:48City from top to bottom 53 man roster.
- 15:52I don't think you can. And you, like you said, you they
- 15:54had a green lawn, they added Hafunga.
- 15:56I mean, this team has, it's absolutely loaded.
- 15:59The secondary would be the best secondary in football you can
- 16:02argue. That it's scary.
- 16:06There's no argument. It is 100% is and you're
- 16:09bringing 10 guys to the full, which is Broncos kept 5
- 16:12quarterbacks and five safeties. Brandon Jones, I don't know, You
- 16:15guys probably don't even recognize the name safety.
- 16:18The Dolphin safety. Yeah, he was, yeah, he was
- 16:20former former Miami Dolphin. He came, he came into Denver and
- 16:24they asked him to play a lot more single high.
- 16:26He was the number two safety in the NFL according to Pro
- 16:29Football Focus coverage grade at free safety last season at over
- 16:3390.3%. Like this dude is a fantastic
- 16:37player. You had another guy that like,
- 16:39like you fungi that can play in the box.
- 16:41You bring in green lot Alex Singleton's coming back from a
- 16:43from a torn ACL that derailed his season early on.
- 16:46And you, you upgrade the linebacker room.
- 16:48Then you add another player like Jade Baron.
- 16:50This defense is absolutely freaking spectacular guys.
- 16:54And they look like it. I mean it.
- 16:56I understand it's pre season. The, the, the depth of this unit
- 16:58looks very solid. But what we've, what we're
- 17:01hearing out of Broncos camp, what I've seen at Broncos camp,
- 17:04this defense is. Lights out, guys.
- 17:07It's crazy, crazy good. Yeah, there are.
- 17:10There are people in the media around Denver, like comparing
- 17:13them to the 2015 Broncos defense.
- 17:15That's like one of the best defenses in NFL history.
- 17:17Seriously, it's that good. Yeah, I want to reference back
- 17:20to obviously what everyone's saying about the Chiefs, like
- 17:23you don't want to beat them by blitzing type thing because of
- 17:25Mahomes doing it against the blitz.
- 17:26Now we've known Vance Joseph in the past has been blitz happy.
- 17:29Like where where are your thoughts with the Broncos
- 17:31defense? Do they have to emphasize that
- 17:32kind of game plan more often? What are the percentages?
- 17:34Maybe the mix it up too. So I have NFL pro hold up really
- 17:40fast. It might take me a second here,
- 17:41but I know the Broncos were, I think #3 in terms of blitz
- 17:44percentage last season, yeah, I know it's pretty high.
- 17:46I didn't know how high it was. Yeah, it's, it's ridiculously
- 17:50high. They were, they were right
- 17:51behind the the Minnesota Vikings.
- 17:53So give me just one second here if I can, if I can find it.
- 18:01I cannot get my computer to work all of a sudden anyways.
- 18:04No, it's like defense. That's the right one.
- 18:10Here we go. Now I'm I'm actually on the
- 18:11right track here in terms of blitz percentage.
- 18:17Maybe. Regardless, it really quite
- 18:19honestly, it doesn't matter. I know that the Broncos were one
- 18:23of the the highest blitz percentage defenses which also
- 18:26combined into their uses of man coverage.
- 18:30They were second I believe only behind the Minnesota Vikings and
- 18:34Brian Flores and Bush percentage combined with man covered
- 18:36percentage on the back end in the NFL last season.
- 18:39That's what they prioritize. They want to get after the
- 18:42quarterback. They led the NFL in total
- 18:44pressures last year. And they also have a guy on the
- 18:46interior in Zach Allen who is incredibly underappreciated from
- 18:50what he brings. He led all NFL interior
- 18:52defensive lineman in pressures and was third in sacks, only
- 18:56behind I believe it's Chris Jones and Jeffrey Simmons.
- 18:59Jalen Carter, excuse me? Like this dude can get after it
- 19:02too. They are going to bring pressure
- 19:04again, They're going to play tight man coverage.
- 19:06And when you have the defensive player of the year and pass for
- 19:08Tan on the outside. And again, adding Jonny Baron,
- 19:12Riley Moss, a player who when Riley Moss went down last season
- 19:16in this like 4 weeks with the spraying MCL, the defense took a
- 19:19big time drop off because they started to play more zone and
- 19:22teams were able to exploit that. When you have this defense
- 19:25healthy and they're attacking and attacking and attacking like
- 19:28Fanchos wants to do, it's the best defense in the NFL all
- 19:31right now. So, Lance, obviously, you know,
- 19:34it's betting is a huge part, fantasy is a huge part too.
- 19:37And just going and looking at and obviously I'm I'm a
- 19:40bipartisan Broncos fan because of my son.
- 19:44I asked Carter if he had any questions, but of course, if it
- 19:46has nothing to do with his needs or once he doesn't answer me
- 19:49back, but if he needs something like rent was due for his new
- 19:52place in college, he should have told me that today.
- 19:54So yeah, that's good for you. I'm looking to.
- 20:00They have it set at 9 1/2. Are you taking the overs on that
- 20:03Is is kind of what I'm hearing for more than more the wins on
- 20:06the season? I think this is an 11 win team,
- 20:08at least they they won 10 games last year and just snuck it
- 20:11barely into the playoff. And if you go back and watch the
- 20:14tail end of the season, they they, they won that close.
- 20:16Well, it was closed at first, but then they they took down the
- 20:19Indianapolis Colts because Jonathan Taylor can't figure out
- 20:21how to hold on to the football going into the end zone.
- 20:24So that that that kind of sucked.
- 20:26But for the Broncos it rules. But they they they took Joe
- 20:29Burrow and Jamar Chase and T Higgins down to the wire and
- 20:33Bonex threw 2 huge touchdown passes late in that game, both
- 20:36of them to Marvin Mims. One on a 67 yard air throw.
- 20:40By the way, 67 air yards throw to Marvin Mims at the very back
- 20:44of the end zone to get the game close and then threw a a a toss
- 20:47up ball to Marvin Mims at the end of that game to tie it to
- 20:50send it to overtime. That's Jamar that Jamar Chase,
- 20:54Joe Burrow and T Higgins that the most one of the most
- 20:57explosive offenses in the NFL. This team can go toe to toe with
- 21:00anybody. They they really can.
- 21:01And hopefully what we're what we're seeing it at at camp right
- 21:05now, the Broncos are starting to focus more on on running a lot
- 21:10of outside zone. They they are usually a gap
- 21:14team. They run a lot of inside zone
- 21:15and duo. So duo is 2 double teams up at
- 21:18the front. They run a lot of that one too.
- 21:21This year they're starting to like focus on more outside zone,
- 21:24which is really what accentuates the skill set of JK Dobbins.
- 21:27That's great vision, great explosiveness.
- 21:29RJ Harvey, same thing. Great vision, great
- 21:31explosiveness. They can get vertical very
- 21:33quickly if they want to. If the running game and the play
- 21:36action, passing game and adding in Evan Ingram can actually hit
- 21:40the way that it's designed, this offense can be, I want, I want
- 21:44to call it a top ten offense, but if they're top 15 with the
- 21:47top three defense, they can absolutely.
- 21:50Land stop. You keep mentioning Evan Ingram.
- 21:54First of all, Eva's pot hands in New York, good season with the
- 21:58Jacksonville Jaguars, and you make it seem like, oh, he's this
- 22:02guy could be absolutely dominating.
- 22:04He goes over there and Bo Nick throws him and puts it in.
- 22:07You put him in a slot, he's going to be dominant.
- 22:09I do not believe Evan Ingram is that piece, that missing piece
- 22:13that's going to make them just pop off and and honestly the
- 22:16weakest part of this team is there wide receiving depth.
- 22:20If you look at it, Cortland Sutton is great.
- 22:23Am I going to trust that Marvin Mims junior is the number two
- 22:26guy? I I mean, honestly, Pat Bryant,
- 22:29Trent Shea, what is it? Sherfield Junior?
- 22:33I mean, there's no depth. Troy Franklin, there's no depth
- 22:37when it comes to the white. They're dominant defensively.
- 22:39They're going to be sensational defensively.
- 22:41They're running backs. JK Dobbins.
- 22:43You don't know what you're going to get out of JK Dobbins because
- 22:46how many ACL tears has he had? If he stays healthy, maybe you
- 22:49have a good 212 punch, but they've had problems with their
- 22:52running game. That's why Williams, he's
- 22:53playing for the Cowboys now. And RJ Harvey, yeah, it's nice
- 22:57to to say that he's and he's a gentie type of player because of
- 23:01what he did in college. You got to do it in the NFL with
- 23:03the speed. I think the weakest part of this
- 23:05team, even though Sean Payton is the mastermind and one of the
- 23:09best offensive minds in the NFL, is their offensive side of the
- 23:14ball and the wide receiving core.
- 23:16If Cortland Sutton goes down, what are they going to do?
- 23:18Who's their number one guy? Pat Bryant, I mean, seriously,
- 23:22Marvin Mims junior, you're going to Marvin Mims junior is not
- 23:25even healthy right now. They should have went in the
- 23:28offseason and look for more depth on the offensive side of
- 23:32the ball. They didn't do that.
- 23:33And as much as you think that, hey, we got Evan Ingram pot
- 23:37hands himself, if you're trying to sell me that Evan Ingram's
- 23:41the missing piece to this offense, well, man, you're going
- 23:45to be madly surprised about what this team could be.
- 23:48If if somebody like Court and Sutton, who I think he's very
- 23:51underrated and it deserves the money in the offseason, if he
- 23:54goes down, they're screwed. I don't disagree with that and
- 23:57and quite honestly, I agree with your with your take on they
- 24:00needed to add more pass catching weapons, specifically at the
- 24:03wide receiver position. But I'm also going to tell you
- 24:06what I've seen, what I've, what I've, what I've heard and, and
- 24:10bring to you facts that are not just outside opinions.
- 24:13Errol, I love you dude. But I, I covered this team for a
- 24:16living and I do this every single day.
- 24:18Marvin is not. Going to be wide receiver tuning
- 24:20soft. It's going to be Pat Ryan.
- 24:22This dude just cannot figure out how to get covered.
- 24:25And I know that sounds crazy to say it like that.
- 24:28He is always wide open. And going back to the early
- 24:32parts of training camp, the Broncos, based on what I saw,
- 24:35they were literally focusing on designing plays for Evan Ingram
- 24:38on crossing routes to just get him, get him the ball quickly
- 24:41and out in open space. And they did that for like the
- 24:44first five days after that they stopped doing that.
- 24:48Like, OK, we've already seen enough.
- 24:49We we know. Then they throw it out there
- 24:51against the Arizona Cardinals and he catches A5 yard, 5 yard
- 24:55crossing round, turns it into a 55, a 58 yard game.
- 24:58Pat Bryant on the backside. This dude on backside digs,
- 25:01which is one of the biggest functioning components of the
- 25:04Denver Broncos offense with Sean Payton.
- 25:06It always has been the backside 15 yard in route that 15 yard
- 25:11dig route. Pat Bryant is running across the
- 25:13middle of the field, literally wide open without a player
- 25:16within like 5 yards and catching everything thrown to.
- 25:20Him but your Ben. Franklin has taken a bit.
- 25:23I'm taking a bit. I'm taking a big bet here and it
- 25:25absolutely does. It does have to, you know, like
- 25:28we're talking about preseason NFL football.
- 25:29Exactly. Some of it can't do like it's
- 25:32absolutely your concerns are absolutely 100% correct.
- 25:35I'm going based on what I've seen though, and what I've seen
- 25:38is there there are times where this offense can actually like
- 25:42target some of these players. And with Marvin Mims, you're
- 25:45going to see him a lot of backfield, you're going to see
- 25:47him a lot of slot. They're going to use him in
- 25:49motion. I'm not going to compare him to
- 25:52Tyree kill because he's definitely not that type of
- 25:54player. But picture, picture what the
- 25:56the Chiefs did with Tyree kill in that offense a handful of
- 26:00years ago. An explosive player that you can
- 26:01use as a gadget player and just try to figure out ways to get
- 26:04him out in space. He's the best punt returner in
- 26:08the NFL, and that sounds crazy to bring that up in an offensive
- 26:11conversation, but what do you need to be a quality punt
- 26:14returner? 1, you need great hands.
- 26:17Two, you need great vision. Three, you need great twitch and
- 26:20explosiveness in your lower half.
- 26:21Great vision to be able to see what's going on in front of you
- 26:24and also the ability to just start running it.
- 26:26Incredibly fast-paced and no one can catch up with you.
- 26:29He brings that to the offensive side of the football.
- 26:31It all depends on what Sean Payton with him.
- 26:33Troy Franklin has taken a huge step forward this offseason in
- 26:37terms of his his ability to take the top off of the defense.
- 26:40He's showing better ball tracking ability over his
- 26:42shoulder, which is something that he struggled with last
- 26:44season. If you remember correctly, Bonex
- 26:49targeted Troy Franklin on deep shots.
- 26:51I think 8 or 9 different times he only caught one pass.
- 26:55They happen to be a touchdown in the Buffalo Bills game in the
- 26:58playoffs for a 47 yard touchdown to put the Broncos up in the
- 27:02lead 7, nothing. Yeah, that sucks.
- 27:04But he's showing that better ball tracking ability.
- 27:07Evan Ingram, again, bringing that versatility over the middle
- 27:09of the field to open some stuff up.
- 27:11This offense is actually going to be kind of dynamic and it
- 27:13really just depends on if Bonex is going to be willing to take
- 27:16those shots because he wasn't last season and that's the
- 27:18biggest step of that. The New York Jets had Malachi
- 27:22Corley, who they decided to drop after one year.
- 27:25They drafted him in the third round.
- 27:27They dropped him just recently and everybody was shocked.
- 27:30This guy's a third round draft pick.
- 27:31And listen, if you want to bet on Pat Bryant, that's good.
- 27:34The Jets drafted Arian Smith, if I'm not mistaken, right?
- 27:38This guy was, he's fantastic, fast.
- 27:42He did very well in the preseason.
- 27:44They think he could be a good #2 maybe a #3 on this team, but
- 27:48they're looking at him just because of speed and how he fits
- 27:52where you can put him in a slot on the outside that doesn't tell
- 27:54me and sell me. As a Jet fan, all you have is
- 27:57Garrett Wilson and you have maybe Mason Taylor.
- 28:00I'm not going to I if I'm a Super Bowl contender with a lot
- 28:04of Bronco fans believe that they are with the defense that they
- 28:07have and maybe some of the running talent that they have
- 28:10with with Harvey. If you're going to sell me that
- 28:13and Pat Bryan is your number two guy.
- 28:16That is scary and I don't know I understand that you follow this
- 28:20team. You're getting this is what you
- 28:21do for a living. It still tells me as a guy that
- 28:24I also do this, you know, half a living and I understand the game
- 28:28just as much as anybody. I I know a little bit about Pat
- 28:31Bryan. I know he comes from Illinois.
- 28:33I watched him a little bit at college football last year.
- 28:36He's a speed demon. He's also 6 foot two and a 204
- 28:40lbs. He's very light and if if he
- 28:42gets hit once in the NFL, with the speed of the NFL, the guy
- 28:46could be knocked out. What are they going to do?
- 28:48They don't have any secondary offense.
- 28:50That would scare me. Yes, it is Fish 2. 104 lbs is
- 28:54light. I got to give you some numbers
- 28:56here. So Pat Bryant last season at
- 28:58Illinois caught 54 passes. I don't remember the yards off
- 29:01the top of my head, 52 of them that went for first downs.
- 29:04And he had a 80.4% contested catch rate.
- 29:08Yeah, he's 622 O 4, but he is one of the best contested catch
- 29:12receivers that's come out of the NFL draft for the last like 4
- 29:14years. Like quite literally 80.4% LED a
- 29:18college football last season by like over 8%.
- 29:22The dude knows how to catch the football on traffic.
- 29:24This. And let me just one quick last
- 29:28thing talking about the Broncos and what they had last season.
- 29:31Retention, retention rate 86%. They just traded a player to the
- 29:35New Orleans Saints right before the the preseason game the other
- 29:38day. And Devon Bailey, who was a
- 29:40seventh round pick, OK, Devon Bailey was the second leading
- 29:43receiver in on the Broncos roster.
- 29:46That's he got like 47 passes. They traded Devon Bailey because
- 29:50they believed in Pat Bryant more than Devon Bailey.
- 29:52And they got a hell of a return because he got a fourth round
- 29:55pick for what was a second round pick.
- 29:57Like Pat Bryant is going to be a freaking stud, guys.
- 30:01Like I, I saw, I think it was fish saying that he was going to
- 30:07take Pat Bryant. Now, if Xavier Legazzi on his
- 30:10slow draft, absolutely, I wouldn't take him like like
- 30:13earlier than like the tenth round, if if even closer than
- 30:16that or even later than that. But this dude is like legit.
- 30:18They truly, truly believe in. This I really hope.
- 30:22I love the guy and also so on that one thing that that also
- 30:27brings just an added value to the guy.
- 30:30It doesn't get much credit in terms of like the fantasy
- 30:33football aspect. This dude will kick your ass in
- 30:35the blocking game. So go back and watch the the
- 30:37crossing route that Evan, that Evan I've highlighted this play
- 30:40a couple different times. Evan Ingram on the crossing
- 30:42route, 5 yard crossing route. Go back and watch that play and
- 30:45watch #13 for the Broncos. He literally takes a a Cardinals
- 30:49player and drives him like 30 yards downfield and escorts him
- 30:53to the freaking sideline and throws him on the bench.
- 30:57I like like this. This dude's a badass man.
- 31:00I love you. I I really do.
- 31:02I got to give you a little bit of credit.
- 31:03You are absolutely a die hard fan of the Denver Broncos.
- 31:07And I'm going to tell you if if if you haven't checked out Mile
- 31:10High huddle guys, go check it out.
- 31:12This guy's personality, he's got that emphasis personality and he
- 31:17goes crazy. Oh my God, Harvey yes, guys like
- 31:20a run all the way through you. I love it.
- 31:23You're like Vince McMahon or the WWE buddy.
- 31:26I I love it. I love everything about you.
- 31:28I think you're great. I I love you commentating.
- 31:31I I like everything about you and I and I love watching.

- 32:11So and I wear Eagles hats on this show as well.
- 32:14So but I love you, man. Keep up the good work.

- 33:03Listen, listen, I'm not toilet paper.
- 33:05Jabba definitely isn't toilet paper.
- 33:07I use dude wipes. I don't use toilet paper.
- 33:08That's right, I forgot about that and and as Job always says.
- 33:11As long as she's using dude wipes and taking care of my 2
- 33:14hole I'm good. As we all know, but and
- 33:17obviously. This makes my pecker hard.
- 33:19You just made my nipples hard. Anyways, we love you keep up the
- 33:22good work and I definitely all fair.
- 33:24We got to talk because I got my own takes on some of the the the
- 33:29precision you have when it comes to your team.
- 33:31So. Hit hit me up on Twitter.
- 33:34No, I'll hit you up somewhere. Else the way he's got my phone
- 33:38number, get it from him, give me.
- 33:39A call. I'll let you lick my butt.
- 33:40We'll shoot back and. Forth.
- 33:41Don't worry, he'll start. He'll start loving RJ Harvey and
- 33:44Evan Ingram when they when they truck sticks the gremlin Travis
- 33:47Hunter. Oh.
- 33:47That's another story. Well, we'll have to talk off air
- 33:50on that one. And by the way, I did not draft
- 33:52Travis Hunter. I saw him there in the later
- 33:55rounds. I still didn't draft him.
- 33:56I would never waste my draft pick on that idiot.
- 33:59Anyways, thank you buddy. We'll talk to you soon.
- 34:02Thanks guys. Lance Sanderson, Mile High
- 34:05Huddle, sensational, great personality and, and we go back
- 34:09and forth for a long time and I watched this cake grow as an
- 34:13analyst. I remember when he only got like
- 34:153 or 4 people following his show.
- 34:17Now he's like, he's got a tremendous following and he's
- 34:20doing so many things with the Broncos and, and, and he's had
- 34:23he's he's worked with all the different ex Broncos over the
- 34:27last couple of years. He's had Von Miller on his show
- 34:29and everything like that. So love the guy.
- 34:31Keep up the good work, Lance. We'll talk to you soon, bud.
- 34:34All right, ladies and gentlemen, this is the remix.
- 34:38Another one remix. This is the Rayman.
- 34:44The rah rah shishkumba. That's a good one.
- 34:50That is a good one. That is a good one.
- 34:52I definitely won't use dual wipes.
- 34:54I'll use toilet paper. I use like nice sauce.
- 34:57You just said you went to the bowl like 6 or 7 times.
- 35:00That thing has to be raw. Toilet paper 100 percent, 100%,
- 35:04dude. Oh if you're using dude wipes
- 35:06you'd be fine bro. I don't know, I'm staying away
- 35:09from the dude wipes, especially you promoting it.
- 35:11What? But why do you like you toilet
- 35:14paper that many times that thing's got like, dude, wipes
- 35:16take care of you, man. I'm not, I'm I'm not.
- 35:18This isn't even an ad or a shtick like this is like I've
- 35:22had some rough, rough mornings after so long bubble guts.
- 35:25And they they did, they did me right.
- 35:28What about skidmark preventing skid marks?
- 35:33Dude wife save skid marks. I had to take a shit.
- 35:41All right, let's do this. This is the remix.
- 35:44This is a new segment, relatively new segment that we
- 35:46do where we're going to go take an old take, play it for you,
- 35:50and then let Errol have a chance to remix some of the things he
- 35:55said. Today's topic is going to be
- 35:57what we said preceding before the MLB trade deadline about the
- 36:04Yankees, so here we go. Put it on the first music.
- 36:09This is the original take right here.
- 36:14It's in baseball in the first half of the season after the
- 36:17trade deadline. It's arguably one of the award
- 36:19ball fans in baseball and this is something that Brian Cashman
- 36:24has to lock in on because not because everybody wants to fire
- 36:28Aaron Boone and everybody's come out on social media.
- 36:30Every Yankee fan thinks that this is Aaron Boone's fault.
- 36:33They're not getting timely hitting.
- 36:34This has been a problem for the Yankees for over 15 years.
- 36:38It's been a problem for them in the playoffs and they need to
- 36:40find guys that are going to fill in certain spots, especially
- 36:45that line up that's going to help out.
- 36:47Aaron, Aaron, Joe. All right, Errol, here comes.
- 36:52Another one. Remix.
- 36:55This is the Remix remix. Well, the Yankees did exactly
- 37:02what I said they should. They added some relief help.
- 37:05Has it helped them? Well, not really.
- 37:08The Yankees pitching staff right now in the second-half is still
- 37:12one of the worst pitching Staffs in baseball they now fear.
- 37:15Obviously Max Freed in his last start really delivered for the
- 37:19Yankees. The Yankees still lost that
- 37:20game. They the Yankees can't score.
- 37:23They needed to add bats and they added one bat and they added the
- 37:28defense to that one bat in third base, but it still wasn't
- 37:31enough. The Yankees haven't done enough
- 37:34to be a contender this year. I thought adding a maybe a two
- 37:37or three bats at the trade deadline, probably 2 and and and
- 37:42hope that Aaron Judge is stays healthy.
- 37:45Aaron Judge goes down tear his UCL is not 100% now he's not
- 37:49even he's playing in the outfield.
- 37:51Now you have to put Giancarlo standing in the outfield.
- 37:53He's still Giancarlo stands one of the hottest hitters in
- 37:56baseball, but you got to watch him out in the outfield.
- 37:58He's been horrible. He looks futured back out there.
- 38:02I mean, he's not even a defensive player.
- 38:04He's been a better DH since he's really transformed himself as
- 38:09ADH in the major leagues in the as ADH in the image American
- 38:12League. I just think right now the
- 38:13Yankees are still trying to find themselves.
- 38:16They won two games. They went back-to-back games
- 38:18against a Washington team. That absolutely blows.
- 38:21But they look at the look at the record against the teams, the
- 38:23winning teams in the second-half.
- 38:25The Yankees have one of the worst records in baseball.
- 38:28I think they're ranked 27th to 28th in baseball right now in
- 38:32the second-half of the season when it comes to records,
- 38:34they've been horrible. And even if you look at the
- 38:37relief pitching and, and the guys that they brought in, the
- 38:39two guys, the two pitchers, one guy showed up and the other guy
- 38:43hasn't. I just think that the Yankees
- 38:45right now are not a playoff team.
- 38:46They're going to make the playoffs just because the
- 38:49American League is just absolutely terrible.
- 38:51But this is not a championship team.
- 38:53I thought they were in the beginning of the season.
- 38:55They've completely fallen off. And now that Aaron Judge is not
- 38:59going to play in the outfield for the rest of the season, it
- 39:01scares me going into a playoff for a wild card game, playing
- 39:05three games and not even a wild card.
- 39:07What do they call a play in game?
- 39:08Yeah, the first round is the. Three-game play, three-game,
- 39:12three-game playing game, whatever it is speedy, why do
- 39:15you have to correct me all the time?
- 39:16The three-game playoff, playoff to get into the playoffs.
- 39:21You got to worry about winning those games and winning two out
- 39:24of three games. I'm not going to bet that if
- 39:26Aaron Josh doesn't play in the outfield and you're going to bet
- 39:28that John Carlos Stanton is not going to make a mistake and that
- 39:30defense in the outfield is going to hold up is enough.
- 39:33I I think the Yankees are not, even if they make the players,
- 39:35they're not going further than that three-game series.
- 39:38Another one. This is the remix.
- 39:44That was This is the remix. And honestly, if you're a Yankee
- 39:48fan, you can't be very happy about where this team is going.
- 39:51Honestly, I, I, Tom, you're a Yankee fan.
- 39:53We never got a chance. Let's hear, let's hear your
- 39:56thoughts in the second-half of the Yankees and what you've seen
- 39:59with the Yankees. What did you what do you think
- 40:01the Yankees have done right, which is probably nothing.
- 40:03And what do you think the Yankees should have done at the
- 40:05trade deadline that could have made them a championship
- 40:09competitive team? So right now I've seen, so let's
- 40:12go back to 1, Anthony Volpe. Here's the play when he picked
- 40:15up, when he was doing a play at shortstop and he threw over the
- 40:17first baseman's head. That was completely, that was
- 40:20completely repulsive. And I thought that was the most
- 40:21retarded thing that I've ever seen in the Yankees.
- 40:24But here's the thing. They need to put Aaron, Aaron
- 40:27Judge back in the outfield. Because right now they think
- 40:30that Aaron Judge is like the pickup man.
- 40:32They think he's the big man that makes the Yankees go far in
- 40:35every single game that they play.
- 40:36But meanwhile, he's just another one of the Yankees.
- 40:38I know he broke the record for the most home runs, but who
- 40:41cares? That's in the past.
- 40:42But the Yankees really need to lock in.
- 40:44And if they don't lock in, they're not going.
- 40:46To be you're going to put him, so you're going to bet to put
- 40:48him in the outfield and possibly if something happens to his arm
- 40:51that could ruin his career, that can affect him next year and
- 40:54playing next season if he throws out his arm.
- 40:56The Yankees are just trying to protect them.
- 40:58The problem right now is, is betting on John Carlos Stanton
- 41:01out in the outfield who really is a bona fide DH.
- 41:04The Yankees need to have his bat in the lineup, especially how
- 41:07hot he is. He's one of the top three
- 41:10hottest hitters in baseball. If you look in the last two, the
- 41:13guys been on fire. You got to keep his bad in.
- 41:15If you keep his bad in, you have Aaron Judge in the lineup as a
- 41:18DH. He's got to play in the
- 41:19outfield. And that's the problem right
- 41:21now. And I don't think there's any
- 41:22way of fixing that. The Yankees right now are
- 41:24screwed because Aaron Judge is a bonafide DH.
- 41:27And, and, and as far as the pitching staff is concerned, no
- 41:31matter what the Yankees did at the trade deadline, I don't
- 41:33think it was enough. And you, even if you put one of
- 41:36your starters in the, you put one of the starters in the
- 41:39bullpen. If the Yankees get past that
- 41:41three-game series wild card game against whoever they're matched
- 41:44up against, it still tells me that the Yankees don't have
- 41:48enough depth to move forward. And are you going to bet on Max
- 41:51Freed with his blisters? And who's your number 2?
- 41:54Are you going to bet on Rodon or are you going to you going to
- 41:56bet on heel? There's no bona fide #2 guy, and
- 42:00that's the problem with the Yankees.
- 42:01Just just know there's nothing that stands to me from all the
- 42:04other teams. Texas, we know who the bona fide
- 42:06#2 guy is. Jabba, we know who that is.
- 42:08If if if you're looking at all the teams right now in the
- 42:11American League, Astros have three guys that you can put 123,
- 42:15not just 2-3 guys as starters. That all the teams that are
- 42:18making the playoffs, even the Blue Jays, they got two guys.
- 42:21The Yankees don't have a bona fide two guys that you're going
- 42:24to trust in A7 game series where you're going to say I'm going to
- 42:27play this guy too and I'm going to play that guy too.
- 42:29And all I got to worry about is 3 starts at the end if if they
- 42:32if it does GO-7. I don't think the Yankees have
- 42:34that. I don't think so either.
- 42:37And then if they really want to risk putting Giancarlo standing
- 42:39in the outfield and risking more like.
- 42:41They have to. They got to put him in.
- 42:43Is bad in the lineup. Yeah, I I think that would be
- 42:45the right move for them. But all you can do is hope for
- 42:48John Carlson makes a miracle, and hopefully he doesn't fumble
- 42:50like the rest of the Yankees are doing in the field.
- 42:52Well, the Yankees are all about fumbles, all right, ladies and
- 42:54gentlemen, we call this Speedy's 6 Pack.
- 42:59Let's have a sixer. Hey, who wants to play Drink the
- 43:02Beer? It's time for the Speedy 6 pack
- 43:05of the way. All right, Speedy.
- 43:08Here we go, Speedy. Number six, all right, we'll.
- 43:11Start with the now highest paid safety.
- 43:14Kyle Hamilton got a four year, $100 million deal, 82 guaranteed
- 43:17from the Ravens, 2nd, 8th and 3rd each of the last three years
- 43:22in a coverage grade, and the only safety according to PFF
- 43:25with an 88 rating in everything pass rush, run defense and
- 43:28coverage. Who was that?
- 43:30Kyle Hamilton. I have no idea what Kyle
- 43:35Hamilton is going to be this year.
- 43:37I don't know what he's going to be.
- 43:38He's got to stay healthy. That's the problem.
- 43:40He he's one of the best safeties in the league on the Baltimore
- 43:43Ravens. There's no question their
- 43:45defense is going to be elite If he's in the you can see the
- 43:48difference of the Baltimore Ravens when he's not in the
- 43:50lineup and when he's in the lineup, the defense is just
- 43:53elite. When he's in the lineup.
- 43:54I again, Kyle Hamilton has to stay healthy.
- 43:57That's the problem. And, and I don't know if he will
- 43:59stay healthy for the whole season. 90.1 PFF grade Kyle
- 44:04Hamilton. He's.
- 44:05Great elite safety. He's great.
- 44:07We remember Notre Dame, right? It was Notre Dame that he played
- 44:10for. I remember.
- 44:11It was awesome in college. And he fell, he fell in the
- 44:14draft because a lot of people were questioning his and not his
- 44:18size, but because he's tall. But his, his, his, what is this,
- 44:21his build? It was his.
- 44:22Build. Yeah, his build. 40 yard down.
- 44:25He has gotten banged up, so you know, there is some truth to
- 44:28that. But that dude, that dude's just
- 44:30one of the best players in football.
- 44:32They lock him up. Smart move. #5.
- 44:35Adam Thalen back to Minnesota after he spent his first seven
- 44:39years of his career there since he came into the NFL. 13th and
- 44:42receiving yards and catches, 9th in total touchdowns and is 8311
- 44:46yards, which is the third most for an undrafted player ever.
- 44:50Adam Thalen back to Minnesota. Your thoughts?
- 44:52It's very simple. Minnesota is his hometown.
- 44:55It's where he's from. He played college ball there and
- 44:58and I love the fact. First of all, Phelen still has a
- 45:00little bit left. We saw what he did in Carolina.
- 45:02I think he led Carolina in receiving yards last year.
- 45:05He still could be a good #2 maybe a #3 you can move him in a
- 45:09slot. You can move him on the outside.
- 45:11And he's a great team leader. He's one of the best leaders
- 45:13right now in the NFL. You listen to Bryce Young and
- 45:16what Bryce Young said about him as a quarterback when everybody
- 45:19was picking on him throughout the league and some of the
- 45:21players said that he can't play and he's not a good quarterback.
- 45:24Well, guess what Adam Phelan said?
- 45:26Don't worry about what anybody says.
- 45:27All you have to worry about is your teammates and what your
- 45:29teammates think of you feeling is a leader.
- 45:31And that's what fits over there if Minnesota needs to lead
- 45:33leadership over there with a young quarterback in McCarthy.
- 45:37I think they, they did it for more than one reason.
- 45:39And you're, you're right. I mean, a kid from there knows
- 45:42exactly what it takes to win, went undrafted and closed in
- 45:452013. And you know, it always had a
- 45:47little chip. But yeah, going back to, to
- 45:50where you're from and, and what, you know, there's, there's
- 45:52something to be said about that. And he's obviously proven it
- 45:54for, for as many years as he can.
- 45:56And he's definitely a guy you root for too, as as a guy going
- 45:59undrafted and done it for as long as he has.
- 46:02Yeah, Vikings had a lot of injuries down the roster on
- 46:04receiver and Addison missing the first three games just made a
- 46:07lot of sense. Going to get him at the price
- 46:08that they had to pay for him. Speedy. #4 all.
- 46:12Right. Well, combine, combine these
- 46:13two, the Giants and The Jets. Arrow, you kind of hinted at
- 46:15Malachi Corley being cut. He refuses to play special
- 46:18teams. Also cut Donovan Edwards, who
- 46:19had a nice preseason for them. Carter Warren and Brady Cook,
- 46:23their young prospect. Only two quarterbacks on The
- 46:25Jets roster for the Giants. Greg Dull says you Arrow, you
- 46:27were mentioning Miller's Ale House looked like he's going to
- 46:29be a good target, but he gets cutting rookie running back
- 46:32Miller and Elijah Chapman as well, a defensive lineman that
- 46:35played well last year. Thoughts to those cuts?
- 46:38I think the biggest story was Malachi Corley and one of the
- 46:41main reasons why he was a third round pick.
- 46:43Everybody thought that this kid was going to be explosive for
- 46:46the New York Jets. He was somebody that Joe Douglas
- 46:49loved when they drafted him and he just didn't develop.
- 46:52And Aaron Glenn, he was in Aaron Glenn's doghouse all offseason.
- 46:57He really was. He wasn't training right.
- 46:59They said he was a little overweight, a little overweight
- 47:01when he came to camp. And they asked him to do things
- 47:05with special teams and he wouldn't do it and pissed off
- 47:08Aaron Glenn because Aaron Glenn is a team man and he's a team
- 47:10player. And if you're not going to do
- 47:12what the coach and the coaching staff wants, you're out of here.
- 47:15So I think the biggest story was Malachi Corley and and obviously
- 47:19your your guy, Mr. Dan Time, the quarterback.
- 47:23What's his name again? Yeah, Why don't we ask Nathan,
- 47:25his butt buddy over there, Quarterback.
- 47:27Mr. Mr. Four Man, I'm sorry. The Patriots, the three Amigos,
- 47:31the three Amigos. I can't believe the Patriots
- 47:33brought it in. I can't believe somebody gave
- 47:35him a chance. I don't think he's any good.
- 47:38Well, I mean, he had to go somewhere, right?
- 47:40Otherwise he would have ended up on the Giants practice squad.
- 47:42Chapman did end up on the Giants practice squad, as did Tom and
- 47:46Fox Lil Jordan Humphrey. The types of guys that the
- 47:49Giants had to like use to fill out the roster are now on the
- 47:53practice squad, which tells me the Giants depth has improved
- 47:57significantly. So that's an exciting thing as a
- 47:59Giants fan. Number hey, don't forget our
- 48:01Husker on their fish. That's.
- 48:02Right. Yep, your boy made it.
- 48:04They cut goals Dulcich and kept Fidoni which is really cool.
- 48:08He had a good camp, pretty excited about that.
- 48:11Chapman's an interesting player because they're going to bring
- 48:13him up for sure in games where they want to use a fullback.
- 48:16He's probably more effective as a goal line fullback type of a
- 48:20dude and just occasional pass rusher next to Dexter Lawrence
- 48:24because he's not able to hold up against a run.
- 48:26He's undersized. That's why he went undrafted in
- 48:27the 1st place. Was the big success story last
- 48:29season. I'm sure we'll see him again
- 48:32this year. So that was two of them, Speedy.
- 48:334:00 and 3:00. Yeah, I have two left.
- 48:35Do you want to do it eventually or combined?
- 48:36Last two, speedy two and one all.
- 48:39Right, so you were talking about earlier, Joe Mixon could be out
- 48:43for the rest of the season. Maybe it could come back for the
- 48:45playoffs. So the playoffs are the one I
- 48:46want to focus on. He's 609.
- 48:48Nineteen yards is the motion. The playoffs the last five years
- 48:50among running backs and then fifth and receiving yards also
- 48:52among running backs, 182. So that's one.
- 48:54And then Hard Knocks episode 4 they're actually mentioning a
- 48:58biometrics mechanism changed and Josh Allens throwing motion.
- 49:02Chris Hess was the guy that did it and said it helped him with
- 49:05less sacks and fumbles. Yet fans are complaining about
- 49:08that. He's only been sacked, fumble or
- 49:09picked or 4.2% of play. Was just the most in NFL history
- 49:12in the modern era. Well, Joe Mixon, that's a pretty
- 49:16interesting story. A lot of people drafted him and
- 49:18now you're hearing he probably doesn't play unless there's a
- 49:21playoff appearance from the Texans.
- 49:23And I think the Texans will make the playoffs, so maybe they save
- 49:26him for the playoffs. I I don't know if he comes back
- 49:29or he doesn't, but it's a significant story because who's
- 49:32their number one guy? Chubb.
- 49:33I don't I don't trust Nick Chubb.
- 49:35Remember, he's coming back from another major injury.
- 49:37I I don't know they. Have another rookie too with the
- 49:40with the first name Woody and the last name marks.
- 49:44I I don't know as far as who is it Josh Allen mechanics, I
- 49:49haven't machine thing. I haven't watched Hard Knocks
- 49:52yet. I'll wait.
- 49:53I always wait until the four episodes are over and then I'm
- 49:56going to watch it straight through.
- 49:57When I get a chance to watch it, I probably give you my thoughts
- 50:00to it, but interesting story. Josh Allen is one of the best
- 50:05quarterbacks in the league. If they're going to try and try
- 50:08to stop or change his motion or because of a machine, I think it
- 50:12only effects him. This guy is an elite player.
- 50:15Just let him play his game. Let him figure it out himself.
- 50:17You don't need any machines or some kind of statistic or
- 50:21mathematical equation to fix what he really is as a
- 50:24quarterback. He's sensational.
- 50:25I don't think there's anything that needs to be fixed with Josh
- 50:28Outer. I, I, I find it fascinating that
- 50:30they're using these these kind of ways to help quarterbacks now
- 50:34like just think. About have you have you seen one
- 50:36of those labs? I I wish I've never had a
- 50:38chance. To there it's crazy like there
- 50:41there's different types. I've seen them all like first
- 50:44one, like Doctor Andrews had one when I was rehabbing my elbow
- 50:48and it's kind of like, you know, they put the dots on you.
- 50:51They do also the stuff now there's like lasers and it it is
- 50:54absolutely incredible how they can break it down of like how
- 50:58much force and your acceleration, your deceleration,
- 51:01whether your hips are like it's, it's almost like too much like
- 51:06there's labs that literally that's all they do Like Oh, you,
- 51:09you're leaking from your left adductors.
- 51:12You're like what? It's nuts.
- 51:14And yeah, I. I don't know, you know what,
- 51:17that's like Java. I'm still cutting, you know, hip
- 51:19pads into knee pads for kids because we ran out, you know,
- 51:23and we got and we're going to get yelled at by the refs.
- 51:25You're going to get. Yourself in trouble on this
- 51:26show, man. No, that's that's the reality of
- 51:31like high school football. You have to understand that like
- 51:33if you don't have money in your school or it's a small school
- 51:35like I coach at. Our boy Jordan also is going
- 51:39back to the Buffalo Bills. So that's a that's a big story.
- 51:41Jordan was talking about, Yeah, when he was on the show and he
- 51:45was saying that he wants to play back with the Buffalo Bills and
- 51:49he says we'll see. And he didn't want to relay or
- 51:52give us any released information.
- 51:54And he released it today as he signed a one year deal with the
- 51:57Buffalo Bills to go back and see if he can win a Super Bowl with
- 52:02the Buffalo Bills. That would be a great story to
- 52:04walk away from the game and win a Super Bowl with a Buffalo
- 52:07Bills team that is definitely one of the favorites to coming
- 52:09out of the AFC again this year. So congratulations to Jordan.
- 52:14I'm interested to see what he is going to do this year with a
- 52:17very loaded defense in the Buffalo Bills.
- 52:20So I'm going to be it's going to be fun.
- 52:22Anyways, we have a new segment. We've done this before.
- 52:25It's what the second or third week?
- 52:27We call this Java. Rules.
- 52:35He tastes himself all. Right, let's set it up.
- 52:39Java, you're going to tell us, as we've been learning in this
- 52:44segment, what rules this week. Yeah, there there was a there
- 52:49was a lot of of Java rules. We, the one I thought about too,
- 52:54we covered earlier in the Brady rules just because I thought it
- 52:56was fitting and what? But one thing I really wanted to
- 52:59focus on, I know I did on what's that smell?
- 53:01I did golf. But what really rules about not
- 53:05only representing your country? I don't know if you guys
- 53:08obviously are huge golf fans, but Keegan Bradley was named
- 53:11captain and he's the number 11th player in the world.
- 53:15So by via stats and finishes, he should be on the team.
- 53:18He is the captain. He did not vote himself and was
- 53:23selfless enough to put other guys that had played this last
- 53:26month to the best of their abilities.
- 53:29And he came out today in the press conference this morning
- 53:32and said it hurts to not play this because as a kid you want
- 53:37to represent your country and play on the Ryder Cup.
- 53:39And he goes, but I was put here to be the captain and this is
- 53:43what I'm going to do. And it was just really cool to
- 53:46see being selfless because there's only been one player
- 53:49captain, that's Arne Palmer. And it's tough.
- 53:52It's tough to to be able to do that, manage A-Team.
- 53:55You have vice, vice captains. But for him to be selfless and
- 53:59and get guys on, we had two first timers of the Ryder Cup
- 54:03and I thought it was very fitting too, because it's in
- 54:06Bethpage around your guys's neck of the woods.
- 54:09I've paid. I have played Bethpage.
- 54:11I'm not going to tell you what my score was because it was not
- 54:14anything like the PGA Tour. I just said I'll give you I had
- 54:18to restock balls afterwards. But just a great event.
- 54:22It actually starts on my birthday.
- 54:24So and just a really cool. I'm going to show you guys now.
- 54:28Yeah, it'll, it'll be fun. And I think Keegan badly rules
- 54:32for for the way he handled it and the way that he was just
- 54:35selfless and and knowing that he should have been on the team,
- 54:38but he knew what was important and to lead that team.
- 54:41So. So Keegan Bradley, you ruled to
- 54:43me, buddy. By the way, I just want to let
- 54:45everybody know that I will be going.
- 54:47I got press passes and it's always fun to get a chance to go
- 54:51and check out Bethpage Black. I've never played golf, so I
- 54:54don't know much about driving golf balls.
- 54:56I, I, I've heard about it. I've heard they call it the.
- 54:59It's A and it's a public course. That's why it rules to me.
- 55:01And it's like you get there. It's like first come, first
- 55:04serve. And you know, Keegan was like,
- 55:07this is for the people that live up here, the people that play it
- 55:10all the time to go and represent on our soil, to have the
- 55:13Europeans come in and, and to represent this public course
- 55:17that people can afford to play. And, you know, just be proud of
- 55:21that. It was it was really cool.
- 55:22And and it was it makes you proud to to wear the red, white
- 55:26and blue. That's and just to let everybody
- 55:28know how hard it is to play that course, Tiger Woods says.
- 55:31Tiger Wood has said plenty of times it's the hardest course
- 55:34he's ever played on so. Well, there's different courses.
- 55:37The black courses is the one that they're playing on.
- 55:40You can play the other ones and score pretty good if you're an
- 55:43OK golfer. But yeah, the black you're gonna
- 55:47need a lot of dude wipes because you're you're gonna be do doing
- 55:50all over yourself. Trying breaking news.
- 55:51I gotta go back off now, Carl. Plays with himself.
