- 1:25Speaker 5: of the show, rain started around six thirty or seven
- 1:27Speaker 5: or so in the Canal Valley this morning. Man, what
- 1:29Speaker 5: there was some serious lightning out there when I was
- 1:31Speaker 5: driving in this morning. Metro News meteorologist Brian Hughes is
- 1:34Speaker 5: going to join me later in the show, says we
- 1:37Speaker 5: got the rain and storms continuing off and on throughout
- 1:39Speaker 5: the day, at least till around maybe two or three
- 1:41Speaker 5: or so this same afternoon. High winds, heavy rain at
- 1:44Speaker 5: times of possibility should top out with the temperature on
- 1:46Speaker 5: your thermometer around eighty six to eighty eight, but feeling
- 1:49Speaker 5: warmer than that with a heat index. Now the rain
- 1:51Speaker 5: is going to come to an end tonight. It's gonna
- 1:53Speaker 5: be quite foggy overnight tonight, and for your driving tomorrow,
- 1:56Speaker 5: low's in the mid sixties Tomorrow Thursday looking great highs
- 1:59Speaker 5: in the upper seventies eighties. We're being back up on Friday,
- 2:02Speaker 5: but looking like no rain. Whether the final Live on
- 2:05Speaker 5: the Levee for this season should be in the mid eighties.
- 2:08Speaker 5: Storms may pop up Saturday evening, but more likely on Sunday.
- 2:11Speaker 5: You can download the Metro News television after Brian and
- 2:13Speaker 5: his team of meteorologist and follow it along on social
- 2:16Speaker 5: media as well. And as I said, Brian is going
- 2:17Speaker 5: to join me later in the show. Several things in
- 2:19Speaker 5: the news to get to. We'll get to all those later.
- 2:21Speaker 5: Right now, I want to welcome to the show the
- 2:23Speaker 5: chief of Police for the City of Charles's skuy Dempsey.
- 2:25Speaker 5: Chief Dempsey, good morning, Welcome to the show.
- 2:27Speaker 6: Good morning, Dave. How are you.
- 2:28Speaker 5: I'm doing fine, Thank you for being here. You have
- 2:30Speaker 5: a ceremony and it's swearing in chief coming up later
- 2:34Speaker 5: this morning. I think it's ten o'clock this morning. What
- 2:36Speaker 5: I think is the biggest class of officers since was
- 2:40Speaker 5: the two thousand and five.
- 2:41Speaker 6: That is correct, in two thousand and five, I think
- 2:43Speaker 6: it was right around fifteen at the time, I believe.
- 2:47Speaker 6: And in twenty twenty four we actually swore out eleven,
- 2:51Speaker 6: which if we had outed, hey this is the largest
- 2:53Speaker 6: class in s then one. Now we can easily say
- 2:56Speaker 6: in the twenty twenty six this will be the largest
- 2:58Speaker 6: class since two thousand five. And we are very proud
- 3:01Speaker 6: of that.
- 3:01Speaker 5: And this is going to be swear and it's going
- 3:03Speaker 5: to happen at ten this morning day this right, this morning,
- 3:05Speaker 5: City Council show. I promised i'd get you out of
- 3:07Speaker 5: here in time for that, because nothing would send a
- 3:09Speaker 5: you know, a worse sign than the chief being late,
- 3:12Speaker 5: you know, for his own ceremony.
- 3:13Speaker 6: Right, that may not vode very well from mayor. Yes,
- 3:16Speaker 6: so I appreciate that, sir.
- 3:17Speaker 5: At at ten am this morning, that's when those will
- 3:19Speaker 5: be those new officers will be sworning. How do you
- 3:22Speaker 5: go about recruiting officers? What's the general protocol?
- 3:24Speaker 6: Our best recruiting tool as our officers talking to young
- 3:29Speaker 6: men and women out here who express an interest or
- 3:31Speaker 6: maybe they think would make a good candidate. So word
- 3:34Speaker 6: of mouth is by far our best recruiting tool because
- 3:37Speaker 6: if you can hear it from the word or from
- 3:39Speaker 6: the actual officer, Hey, this is what we can offer you.
- 3:42Speaker 6: This is what you can do at Charleston p d
- 3:44Speaker 6: if you want to be a police officer, it's absolutely
- 3:47Speaker 6: the best experience you can get. And besides that, social media,
- 3:51Speaker 6: we are very heavy on social media, Sergeant Bell's it
- 3:54Speaker 6: does a great job spreading our message and letting people
- 3:59Speaker 6: know when we're giving a teen and what we can
- 4:01Speaker 6: offer them. And so were we really hit it pretty hard.
- 4:06Speaker 6: What makes a good police officer? In your opinion, Integrity
- 4:09Speaker 6: by all means we want someone who has integrity, We
- 4:13Speaker 6: want someone who has compassion, and we want someone who
- 4:16Speaker 6: is dedicated. If you can follow those three simple characteristics,
- 4:21Speaker 6: you're going to make a good candidate.
- 4:23Speaker 5: And you know, policing in the largest city in West Virginia,
- 4:25Speaker 5: in the capital city a little bit different than what
- 4:27Speaker 5: it is in individual towns. You're not as likely to
- 4:30Speaker 5: know the people. But sometimes you have repeat offenders that
- 4:32Speaker 5: you do know. Okay, Bill, you know you need to
- 4:34Speaker 5: go somewhere else.
- 4:34Speaker 7: You have a lot of that.
- 4:35Speaker 5: I completely understand that. But I guess this is by
- 4:38Speaker 5: most people's standards. I mean, you know, a pretty attractive job.
- 4:42Speaker 7: I would think it is.
- 4:44Speaker 6: You know, when I first signed up, there were nearly
- 4:47Speaker 6: seven hundred applicants. Of course, that was back in the
- 4:51Speaker 6: nineteen late nineteen nineties, and it was almost like a Cadillac.
- 4:56Speaker 6: You didn't have to sell Charleston PD, you know. But
- 4:58Speaker 6: now with of course, times are changing. We're in a
- 5:02Speaker 6: new different time. Young men and women are seeking different careers,
- 5:06Speaker 6: and you know, vocational and trade those vocations are really
- 5:11Speaker 6: up those careers. So we've got to be really strong
- 5:15Speaker 6: in our recruiting to we're having a smaller applicant pool
- 5:19Speaker 6: and we have to I don't want to say we
- 5:21Speaker 6: compete against other departments, but they're looking for the same applicants.
- 5:24Speaker 6: So it's difficult. But you know, the city of Charleston
- 5:28Speaker 6: is unique. We were fairly busy, so our officers get
- 5:34Speaker 6: any kind of experience you could ever think of as
- 5:36Speaker 6: a police officer. I always kind of tut that within
- 5:39Speaker 6: one year a Charleston Police officer will do way more
- 5:42Speaker 6: than probably any other officer in the state of West Virginia.
- 5:45Speaker 6: So we tut that pretty good. And with that experience
- 5:50Speaker 6: comes building your resume. So when you retire from Charleston PD,
- 5:55Speaker 6: we have many retirees have become a sheriff, a chief
- 5:58Speaker 6: of police somewhere else, working with the federal system, with
- 6:02Speaker 6: the US Attorney's office, with federal prosecutors, with FBI, atf
- 6:07Speaker 6: you name it. So we have a pretty good record
- 6:10Speaker 6: of When you work here, you develop that experience and
- 6:13Speaker 6: that knowledge to move on to different things when you
- 6:16Speaker 6: retire from here.
- 6:17Speaker 5: There are so many different jobs available within a police
- 6:21Speaker 5: department too. I mean it's not all I mean they
- 6:23Speaker 5: it all is based around that basic officer on the
- 6:26Speaker 5: street or officer in the car, but there's so many
- 6:27Speaker 5: other jobs within the police department, and you're asked to
- 6:30Speaker 5: do so much.
- 6:31Speaker 6: You're correct, So every officer starts out being a patrol
- 6:34Speaker 6: officer is what we call it. Every officer, every officer,
- 6:36Speaker 6: So you start out answering number one one calls, You
- 6:39Speaker 6: build your reputation with supervisors, you learn, you get that experience,
- 6:45Speaker 6: and then after two years you can advance to be
- 6:47Speaker 6: a detective, a traffic officer, an undercover officer, school resource.
- 6:51Speaker 6: You know, as long as those openings are there, you
- 6:53Speaker 6: can put in for it, and you know, if you
- 6:56Speaker 6: work hard and you're dedicated to the job and have
- 6:59Speaker 6: a really good knowledge, then there's a good chance you're
- 7:01Speaker 6: going to move on.
- 7:02Speaker 5: Roughly, how many officers do you have right now?
- 7:05Speaker 6: We're about one hundred and fifty two.
- 7:07Speaker 5: And what do you need in your opinion two hundred
- 7:10Speaker 5: and fifty two? No, I mean, like absolutely, what's an
- 7:13Speaker 5: optimal number?
- 7:15Speaker 7: Where do you like to be?
- 7:16Speaker 6: So right now, we're moving along pretty good with the
- 7:19Speaker 6: numbers we have. We're a lot of for one seventy three,
- 7:21Speaker 6: So believe me, I would love to be at one
- 7:23Speaker 6: hundred and seventy three right now. But with us being
- 7:28Speaker 6: slightly short, it presents a few challenges, but it's nothing
- 7:31Speaker 6: that we can't get through. The city is completely safe.
- 7:33Speaker 6: We cover the city no matter what emergency situation it
- 7:37Speaker 6: is or not emergency situation, so we're well equipped. But
- 7:40Speaker 6: having more officers allows us to spread out more officers
- 7:44Speaker 6: in different units and that helps keep the efficiency going.
- 7:48Speaker 6: It helps us to monitor crime better and just the
- 7:53Speaker 6: overall approach to law enforcement makes it a little bit easier.
- 7:56Speaker 6: So that's why our recruiting push is so hard.
- 7:58Speaker 5: Right now, what are the requirements for a police officer?
- 8:01Speaker 5: I mean, when somebody wants to come in they want
- 8:03Speaker 5: to be a police officer, I mean, are you at
- 8:05Speaker 5: liberty to say like, okay, this is a list, this
- 8:08Speaker 5: is what you have to be able to do. I
- 8:09Speaker 5: know you talked about integrity, but I'm talking about the
- 8:11Speaker 5: actual physical aspects.
- 8:13Speaker 6: So physical aspect, of course, you have to be a
- 8:15Speaker 6: graduate from a high school or a ged and just
- 8:20Speaker 6: have to have an ID show up to a test.
- 8:22Speaker 6: That's basically it. You have to pass a physical test
- 8:27Speaker 6: right off the bat, and you have to pass a
- 8:28Speaker 6: written test, and we have a few options available. If
- 8:32Speaker 6: you fail that, we have a few options to kind
- 8:33Speaker 6: of help guide you along to get you to pass.
- 8:36Speaker 6: So it's not a one all bill. You have a
- 8:39Speaker 6: couple of chances to come back and do a little better.
- 8:42Speaker 6: Sometimes people just have a bad day and they can't
- 8:44Speaker 6: do the required pushups.
- 8:45Speaker 7: Yeah, so we're a little bit.
- 8:47Speaker 6: Lean in with that. We like we actually help instead
- 8:50Speaker 6: of just cast them aside. We actually want to push
- 8:52Speaker 6: you and if that person is dedicated enough to come back,
- 8:55Speaker 6: then that actually tells us Okay, this person may be
- 8:58Speaker 6: a good police officer. They have a lot of drive
- 9:00Speaker 6: and they want to be strong and we will definitely
- 9:04Speaker 6: want them.
- 9:04Speaker 5: Is there an age minimum and an age maximum to
- 9:07Speaker 5: apply to be able?
- 9:08Speaker 6: These host eighteen years old and the maximum has changed
- 9:12Speaker 6: a little bit. It used to be forty, but I
- 9:14Speaker 6: think it's went up now to about forty two, I believe,
- 9:18Speaker 6: and that deals with this the retirement system and things
- 9:21Speaker 6: like that.
- 9:22Speaker 7: And that's for a first time officer, right right, Yeah.
- 9:24Speaker 6: That is correct. Now we will hire certified officers. We
- 9:28Speaker 6: love to hire certified officers because we don't have to
- 9:31Speaker 6: send them off to the academy. They're road ready almost immediately.
- 9:34Speaker 6: They still have to go through the training program that
- 9:37Speaker 6: we have. But yes, we also have a certified hiring
- 9:42Speaker 6: bonus for guys who have already been through that training.
- 9:45Speaker 6: And it's fifteen thousand dollars.
- 9:48Speaker 5: Okay, and that's for certified officer. That's a signing bonus
- 9:52Speaker 5: for certified officers.
- 9:52Speaker 6: Yes, and you're a certified in the state of West
- 9:54Speaker 6: Virginia or a state that is recognized by GIA, Yeah,
- 9:58Speaker 6: then we can give you that on bonus and get
- 10:01Speaker 6: you roaded ready pretty quick.
- 10:03Speaker 5: Talking to Scott Depseygain, chief of police here in the
- 10:05Speaker 5: city of Charleston of a Dave Allen show on five
- 10:06Speaker 5: Edy Line brought you a part by the all New
- 10:08Speaker 5: Generations for the Hurrican visit generations.
- 10:10Speaker 7: Ford dot com. So how long have you been an officer?
- 10:14Speaker 8: Chief?
- 10:14Speaker 6: Twenty five years?
- 10:15Speaker 7: Twenty five years. What have you seen change in this
- 10:17Speaker 7: twenty four more? Where do we start?
- 10:19Speaker 6: Where do you see? You know, policing in general is
- 10:21Speaker 6: about the same. It's on how you talk to people.
- 10:24Speaker 6: It's on how you treat people. I've always remembered this
- 10:27Speaker 6: that people remember how you treat them. It's not what
- 10:31Speaker 6: you did, It's not how you did, it's just the
- 10:34Speaker 6: way you treated them, the way you showed compassion to
- 10:36Speaker 6: them during a difficult time or even arresting.
- 10:39Speaker 1: Then.
- 10:40Speaker 6: I've had many people that I've arrested over the years
- 10:43Speaker 6: that still come to me today, Hey man, how you doing?
- 10:46Speaker 6: You remember me and you treated me good?
- 10:48Speaker 5: So in some cases it may be the best thing
- 10:50Speaker 5: that ever happened to.
- 10:51Speaker 6: Them, That is correct. I've had guys tell me that too,
- 10:54Speaker 6: So yeah, that's nothing really has changed at the basic
- 10:58Speaker 6: law enforcement. But now technology, my goodness, technology is when
- 11:01Speaker 6: leaps and bound since I've been here, and it's it's
- 11:03Speaker 6: hard for an old guy like me to keep up
- 11:05Speaker 6: with self adventlaly aamlia.
- 11:08Speaker 5: So what does the nowhere on radio right now? But
- 11:11Speaker 5: the squad cars? I mean, what do they actually look
- 11:14Speaker 5: like now? Because this is not this is not what
- 11:15Speaker 5: you see in Mayberry. You know this is I mean,
- 11:17Speaker 5: it's like basically a mini computer lab.
- 11:20Speaker 6: Yes, yeah, there is technology all over that police car.
- 11:24Speaker 6: You know. We have computers that the officers can can
- 11:27Speaker 6: get instant calls from Metro Communications. They can run license plates,
- 11:33Speaker 6: license driver's license, and we've got the camera systems and
- 11:39Speaker 6: we've got just a lot of technology that in my day,
- 11:43Speaker 6: it wasn't around when I when I first was hired,
- 11:46Speaker 6: so uh, but that helps us. Those are great tools
- 11:49Speaker 6: for law enforcement officers because you can get instant access
- 11:52Speaker 6: and that's what's important now. A lot of young folks
- 11:55Speaker 6: coming up now, they were raised on cell phones and technology,
- 11:57Speaker 6: so giving them instant access for obviously legitimate law enforcement purposes,
- 12:04Speaker 6: then that just helps them solve crime and helps them
- 12:07Speaker 6: prevent crime. And that's what we want.
- 12:08Speaker 5: And you've got a new recruitment video, I understand coming
- 12:11Speaker 5: out right.
- 12:12Speaker 6: Absolutely, we are very excited about this. I know when
- 12:15Speaker 6: I took over in twenty twenty three, my deputy Chief
- 12:17Speaker 6: and Deputy Chief Web that was a goal of ours immediately.
- 12:20Speaker 6: We wanted to get this recruiting video to attract young
- 12:24Speaker 6: men and women. They're they're visual now, right, They see
- 12:28Speaker 6: the phones they doom scroll all the time, and so
- 12:31Speaker 6: to get a video out for them to kind of
- 12:33Speaker 6: showcase our talents and what we do with the community
- 12:36Speaker 6: and what we can offer them is vitally important. So
- 12:40Speaker 6: we're very excited to get this.
- 12:43Speaker 7: Video you do and unveil that Today.
- 12:44Speaker 6: We are going to invelidate a swearing and it'll be
- 12:47Speaker 6: on social media later on. We'll post it on social
- 12:50Speaker 6: media for everybody to see. Obviously we're using as a
- 12:52Speaker 6: recruiting tool. And you know, the folks that I assigned
- 12:56Speaker 6: to that task at a great job. It was Captain
- 12:58Speaker 6: Web and Sergeant Bell's at a terrific job getting this together.
- 13:02Speaker 6: I'm very proud of the video and the content. I
- 13:05Speaker 6: think people will enjoy it.
- 13:07Speaker 5: How well, what's your relationship with the Charleston Police Department
- 13:11Speaker 5: like with the other departments in the area. I know
- 13:12Speaker 5: everybody's got to work together, but sometimes there can be
- 13:14Speaker 5: a little bit of a rivalry because you're you're you're
- 13:17Speaker 5: all competing, you know, for the candidates. As you said,
- 13:21Speaker 5: you were about to swear in the largest class you've
- 13:23Speaker 5: had since two thousand and five. But I know the
- 13:25Speaker 5: other departments are because they may be low one man
- 13:28Speaker 5: power too. There they're looking at you guys, or they're
- 13:30Speaker 5: looking at each other saying, hey, we might want you
- 13:34Speaker 5: to come to this city, you may want you to
- 13:35Speaker 5: come to this department or whatever.
- 13:37Speaker 7: How what's your relationship like with the others?
- 13:38Speaker 6: Well, that is you're correct and your assumption, that's exactly
- 13:41Speaker 6: what we do now. Fortunately, I'm really good friends with
- 13:44Speaker 6: not only just most police officers, but the chiefs and
- 13:47Speaker 6: the sheriffs are in our area. And of course we
- 13:50Speaker 6: joke and we joke with each other a lot. We
- 13:52Speaker 6: kind of rise each other when it comes to things
- 13:54Speaker 6: like this. But you know, I've been asked by several
- 13:58Speaker 6: different chiefs, not only in this area but throughout the state,
- 14:01Speaker 6: what is your secret? What are you doing? And of
- 14:04Speaker 6: course I'm not going to tell him my secrets. Right.
- 14:06Speaker 6: It's magic and in all seriousness, it's just treating people
- 14:11Speaker 6: like you'd want to be treated, showing them what you're
- 14:14Speaker 6: capable of, showing them what you can offer them, and
- 14:17Speaker 6: just being nice to them. Say hey, come and see us,
- 14:19Speaker 6: come talk to us, see what we can offer you.
- 14:21Speaker 5: Talk about the couple of weeks ago with because you
- 14:24Speaker 5: had Regatta going on down the street, with the America
- 14:27Speaker 5: two fifty celebration of the Capitol and I know the
- 14:29Speaker 5: State Police were involved in that, Sheriff's department. I mean,
- 14:31Speaker 5: this was a cooperative effort of everybody, and as far
- 14:35Speaker 5: as I know, everything went off without a hitch.
- 14:38Speaker 6: Everything went as good as what we could have hoped for. Yes,
- 14:41Speaker 6: we had, I believe, just want arrest at regatta and
- 14:45Speaker 6: that was handled very accordingly without incident.
- 14:49Speaker 5: Was it one of our people? Just let me tell
- 14:51Speaker 5: me what was what? Steve Animal, Yeah, I figured it was.
- 14:54Speaker 6: I have to admit it, you know, I didn't want
- 14:56Speaker 6: to say it on the air, but sorry, sorry Steve.
- 14:58Speaker 7: Yeah, it wasn't no Joe, of course, but yeah.
- 15:01Speaker 6: Just one one incident most most honestly was just heat
- 15:05Speaker 6: related things that we helple out with. And uh but yeah,
- 15:09Speaker 6: we've got a great relationship with the State Police and
- 15:12Speaker 6: the Capital PD for those situations. You have to to
- 15:16Speaker 6: have that amount.
- 15:17Speaker 7: That was a big ask.
- 15:18Speaker 5: I mean with all those people that were in Charleston,
- 15:21Speaker 5: especially the night you had Alabama playing, you had Bobby
- 15:23Speaker 5: Brown playing, I mean it was a and plus it
- 15:27Speaker 5: was one hundred and eighty eight degrees outside of it
- 15:29Speaker 5: something like that, So that was a that was a
- 15:31Speaker 5: really big ask of all of the agencies involved.
- 15:33Speaker 6: Right, and it went. I couldn't have asked for a
- 15:36Speaker 6: better situation than what didn't happen. But you know, it's you.
- 15:41Speaker 6: A lot of times we kind of joke that you
- 15:43Speaker 6: don't pay us for what we're doing, you pay us
- 15:45Speaker 6: for what we could be doing. And thank goodness, we
- 15:48Speaker 6: we Some of our officers were bored, quite honestly. They
- 15:51Speaker 6: they walked around at My goal was every time you
- 15:55Speaker 6: take about twenty steps thirty forty yards, you're going to
- 16:00Speaker 6: say a police officer.
- 16:01Speaker 7: That was my pot. You saw them that weren't necessarily
- 16:03Speaker 7: in uniform too.
- 16:04Speaker 6: Right, that's correct?
- 16:05Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, I got to absolutely one.
- 16:07Speaker 6: Yeah, we have a variety of operations to help keep
- 16:10Speaker 6: everybody safe. And I go on in, I think we
- 16:12Speaker 6: did a pretty good job before.
- 16:13Speaker 7: We let you go.
- 16:14Speaker 5: What's your final recruiting because I know you said that
- 16:17Speaker 5: you're allotted for one hundred and seventy three and you're

- 21:49Speaker 5: get the message. Metro News meteorologist Brian Hughes is here,
- 21:52Speaker 5: Hey doing man, Well.
- 21:54Speaker 2: Let's see here this morning, I was woking up quite
- 21:56Speaker 2: nicely by some of the flash flow warnings which we
- 21:59Speaker 2: knew were coming, uh, you know for parts of the region.
- 22:02Speaker 4: Uh.
- 22:02Speaker 2: Of course those were in cable and out across portions
- 22:06Speaker 2: of let's see cable Lawrence County into Ohio, Meg's Jackson,
- 22:11Speaker 2: things of that nature. But you know, the tornado warnings,
- 22:15Speaker 2: we're a surprise this morning. Now, the the signatures went
- 22:19Speaker 2: off at the National Weather Service said this could be
- 22:22Speaker 2: a tornado here. I would have personally not issued the
- 22:24Speaker 2: tornado warning. But that's just me. But it was a
- 22:28Speaker 2: it was a very close call. We do know there
- 22:29Speaker 2: was a wind damage.
- 22:30Speaker 7: It was happening, and where was this premier?
- 22:32Speaker 2: This is primarily the majority of it was actually over
- 22:35Speaker 2: in the Martin County side of things, Kentucky, Yeah, southern
- 22:38Speaker 2: Lawrence into sections of Martin County and then uh then
- 22:42Speaker 2: they continued to tornado warning from Martin all the way
- 22:44Speaker 2: down to the Pike and then you had Wayne, portions
- 22:47Speaker 2: of Logan, Lincoln, Mingo Counties. I mean, so that was
- 22:52Speaker 2: that was the awakening we had this morning.
- 22:53Speaker 5: I'll tell you one thing. There was lightning there, there
- 22:55Speaker 5: was some lightning. I left the house a little bit
- 22:57Speaker 5: early this morning because normally I leave around like six
- 23:00Speaker 5: thirty or so in the morning. But I thought, well,
- 23:02Speaker 5: with the storm coming, I'm gonna go ahead and hit
- 23:03Speaker 5: because I don't want to be on ice sixty four. Really,
- 23:06Speaker 5: I just don't want to be on I sixty four,
- 23:07Speaker 5: to be honest with you, but I don't want to
- 23:08Speaker 5: be on ice sixty four when it's coming to big storm.
- 23:10Speaker 5: So I thought I was just couldn't leave the house early.
- 23:12Speaker 5: And there was no rain, but man, about six six
- 23:15Speaker 5: ten or so this morning, the entire and it was
- 23:17Speaker 5: pitch black dark. The entire sky was lit up. I
- 23:21Speaker 5: mean with the lightning.
- 23:22Speaker 2: I mean it was incredible tons And I'll tell you this,
- 23:26Speaker 2: back across parts of Ohio, the clotta ground lightning fights
- 23:29Speaker 2: were so much more than what they even were in
- 23:31Speaker 2: West Virginia. So you know, we had that going for us.
- 23:34Speaker 2: Those storms are still moving south, the bulk of them are,
- 23:39Speaker 2: but then we've also got more than it's going to
- 23:41Speaker 2: develop this afternoon. Now, we do have some chowers and
- 23:43Speaker 2: storms that are across We've got some of them in
- 23:45Speaker 2: Lincoln County back into Boone County, and it is some
- 23:49Speaker 2: of the eastern Kadan County. Very light sprinkles in northern
- 23:51Speaker 2: Kadon County. But as we go into this afternoon, I
- 23:54Speaker 2: think somewhere between noon and probably two three o'clock has
- 23:57Speaker 2: storm going to see some more thunderstorms fire back up
- 24:00Speaker 2: for the afternoon. They'll move off to the southeast, so
- 24:03Speaker 2: they'll kick out of here, but we know they may
- 24:06Speaker 2: even last even into four or five o'clock in some
- 24:09Speaker 2: areas closer to the Charleston areas, so we have to
- 24:12Speaker 2: keep our eyes on that. But those are not going
- 24:15Speaker 2: to be anything significant. In other words, we're not looking
- 24:18Speaker 2: at what we had all that heavy rain that we
- 24:20Speaker 2: had this morning, But we still have to be mindful
- 24:22Speaker 2: of what rain fell this morning where it fell. In fact,
- 24:25Speaker 2: eastern Kanak County. That could be an easy spot to
- 24:28Speaker 2: trigger a new flash flood warning later on today if
- 24:31Speaker 2: we get a storm that dumps pretty good and moves
- 24:33Speaker 2: across that area.
- 24:34Speaker 5: Talking to Jam with Metro News mediaorologist Brian Hugh's a
- 24:36Speaker 5: Dave Island Show in five D line brought to you
- 24:38Speaker 5: in part by Huston's Pizza. This month, by any regularly
- 24:41Speaker 5: priced large eighteen inch pizza and get a two liter
- 24:43Speaker 5: bottle of any Pepsi product for free, find your nearest
- 24:46Speaker 5: Huston's Pizza for the livery pick up, or dine in
- 24:48Speaker 5: at Huston'spizza dot com. So over the next couple of hours,
- 24:52Speaker 5: you're saying that we could I mean again, when you
- 24:54Speaker 5: see these thunderstorms that just roll in and they just
- 24:56Speaker 5: kind of park over one area, we've got to at
- 24:58Speaker 5: least keep that in the back of our mind that
- 25:00Speaker 5: it could happen here in Kannawalk County.
- 25:01Speaker 2: Right, That's what we have to look at, specifically in
- 25:03Speaker 2: eastern Ganalon County. That's where we saw some of the
- 25:05Speaker 2: heaviest rainfall this morning. Matter fact, we saw about an
- 25:08Speaker 2: inch and a half across parts of eastern Ganonal County.
- 25:11Speaker 2: We were up to the two inch two inch territory
- 25:14Speaker 2: one and a half to two that's when we I
- 25:16Speaker 2: was expecting in flash flow warning, but the Nash Well
- 25:20Speaker 2: Nash Weather Service did not issue it, and rightfully so,
- 25:23Speaker 2: because it was just below the threshold. Because we have
- 25:26Speaker 2: thresholds that are that are on a sliding scale, depending
- 25:28Speaker 2: on how wet the ground is, things that nature, soil,
- 25:31Speaker 2: moisture content, all sorts of things. But generally we look
- 25:35Speaker 2: at three hour flash flood guidance and we go, okay,
- 25:39Speaker 2: we can handle two two and a half inches where
- 25:42Speaker 2: of rain within this three hour time period. If it's
- 25:45Speaker 2: more than that, well we probably have to issue at
- 25:46Speaker 2: flash flow warning.
- 25:47Speaker 5: But now after this, once we get through today, we
- 25:51Speaker 5: got some pretty nice weather days coming up.
- 25:52Speaker 7: Lower humidity.
- 25:53Speaker 5: It's gonna be real comfortable, real nice, what you tell
- 25:55Speaker 5: me Wednesday, pretty much.
- 25:57Speaker 2: Th Friday, Right Listen, once a front moves through the afternoon,
- 26:00Speaker 2: that win is gonna switch from the southwest to the northwest.
- 26:02Speaker 2: It's gonna feel nice. You're gonna see that, right, feel
- 26:05Speaker 2: the dry humidity moving in. And then as we head
- 26:07Speaker 2: in to tomorrow, Yeah, we're gonna have some fog in
- 26:08Speaker 2: the morning because of all the rain we've had today
- 26:10Speaker 2: and into the sea into late this afternoon this evening,
- 26:13Speaker 2: but we're gonna get rid of that for the afternoon.
- 26:15Speaker 2: It's gonna be nice. Partly, we'll probably partly call these
- 26:17Speaker 2: guys tomorrow boastly sunny as we go into Thursday, Friday,
- 26:21Speaker 2: mostly sunny. Friday is gonna be great for the final
- 26:23Speaker 2: live of the Levee, final one of the season. Yeah,
- 26:25Speaker 2: so that's that's I'm disappointment but also excited because you
- 26:29Speaker 2: know what that means is guess what school starts like that?
- 26:33Speaker 7: Yeah? Here in a couple of weeks.
- 26:34Speaker 2: Yeah, that's crazy. Yeah, why can we wait till Labor Day?
- 26:39Speaker 5: Well don't We were talking about that upstairs in the
- 26:41Speaker 5: office earlier, about when school starts, because you know, I mean,
- 26:44Speaker 5: in our I'm older than you. But but I will
- 26:47Speaker 5: say that when I went to school, it was always
- 26:49Speaker 5: a day after Labor Day. Traditionally, same is always a
- 26:52Speaker 5: day and then I think like toward my maybe my
- 26:54Speaker 5: junior or senior year, they started starting it a little
- 26:57Speaker 5: bit earlier, like maybe the week before I think remember
- 26:59Speaker 5: one year we went like on a Thursdsday to get
- 27:03Speaker 5: us to get schedules and whatnot, and then and then
- 27:06Speaker 5: we were off on Labor Day. But traditionally it was
- 27:08Speaker 5: it used to.
- 27:08Speaker 2: Be it was Monday, Yeah, the Tuesday following.
- 27:11Speaker 6: The old day.
- 27:11Speaker 5: Oh man, hey, I want to ask you because you
- 27:14Speaker 5: were up there yesterday. You went north yesterday to take
- 27:16Speaker 5: up some of our flood supplies or donations that we
- 27:19Speaker 5: picked up on Friday here from the greatest listeners in
- 27:23Speaker 5: the world, and you and a couple of others drove
- 27:25Speaker 5: up there to distribute those. I know you hadn't been
- 27:28Speaker 5: there in person. You've been monitoring and of course on
- 27:31Speaker 5: the computers and doing great coverage for us. What was
- 27:34Speaker 5: it like when you were up in those areas yesterday?
- 27:36Speaker 5: Was it what you I mean? I know you saw
- 27:38Speaker 5: it on the computer screen, but sometimes we got to
- 27:41Speaker 5: see it in person.
- 27:41Speaker 7: Yeah, So what was your take on?
- 27:42Speaker 1: Well?
- 27:43Speaker 2: And that's all we always trying to do. Any major
- 27:45Speaker 2: historic type of flooding or storms that are ravaged areas
- 27:49Speaker 2: we try and get into that area so that we
- 27:51Speaker 2: can have a better understanding of what people were experiencing.
- 27:54Speaker 2: Everything else. I mean when I was walking through parts
- 27:56Speaker 2: of downtown and this was a canon. Sorry, no, we
- 28:00Speaker 2: were in no West West. Yeah, we went to west
- 28:02Speaker 2: and we far the furthest east that we went was
- 28:05Speaker 2: to the Walmart at Weston because Weston is actually worse
- 28:10Speaker 2: than Buchana. Yeah it is by a long shot. But
- 28:14Speaker 2: for me, it was everything that I've always known about,
- 28:18Speaker 2: you know, flash flood and historic flash flooding is there's
- 28:21Speaker 2: lots of mud, it is contaminated, you don't want to
- 28:24Speaker 2: breathe it in. And at the same time too, people
- 28:26Speaker 2: are just trying to clean up. But Logan Scott, who
- 28:29Speaker 2: went with me, who is at B one hundred easily,
- 28:32Speaker 2: he's the music director for our radio stations here, our
- 28:35Speaker 2: music stations, he had never been through a flood and
- 28:39Speaker 2: he had never seen anything like it. And you know,
- 28:41Speaker 2: to see his face, you know that that's what people
- 28:45Speaker 2: experience to some degree. Obviously in much higher level, that's
- 28:49Speaker 2: what some people were experiencing there just constantly, just to
- 28:52Speaker 2: shock and all of it all. But you know, the
- 28:54Speaker 2: one thing that they have were two grocery stores. It
- 28:57Speaker 2: was the Shop and Save and it was Walmart, and
- 29:01Speaker 2: they're both shut down right now. Walmart, I think will
- 29:04Speaker 2: probably be open either. If it's not this weekend, it'll
- 29:06Speaker 2: be next week probably.
- 29:07Speaker 5: That's fairly good news because I mean, for what we
- 29:09Speaker 5: were hearing in the first twenty four to forty eight
- 29:11Speaker 5: hours is that that Walmart may not open up again.
- 29:14Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 29:14Speaker 2: They and listen, they have cleaning crews in there cleaning
- 29:17Speaker 2: all of it. I mean, like crazy when I say
- 29:19Speaker 2: cleaning cruise. We're talking about different companies doing specialized things
- 29:23Speaker 2: for this, that and the other, and they're just gutting
- 29:25Speaker 2: the store. Looked at the parking lot. He was full
- 29:27Speaker 2: of just junk from the store. Ye, And so the
- 29:31Speaker 2: entire Walmart was sitting out there in the parking lot,
- 29:35Speaker 2: but they were shipping it out. New stuff was coming in,
- 29:37Speaker 2: so you know, they're getting that ready. But they also
- 29:40Speaker 2: had I think I think Weston has a total of
- 29:42Speaker 2: sixteen restaurants and all, but I think four of them
- 29:46Speaker 2: are damaged, if not destroyed. Wow, think about that. Yeah,
- 29:49Speaker 2: that's so there's a significant economic impact that's going to
- 29:53Speaker 2: happen on the city, in the community. What we can
- 29:55Speaker 2: do to help, more than anything is take care of
- 29:57Speaker 2: these folks who you know, just walk at all.
- 30:00Speaker 5: Well, they certainly did take care of this area in
- 30:03Speaker 5: twenty sixteen. I mean a lot of them came down
- 30:05Speaker 5: there in Clendenna and elf and on down into Greenbrier County.
- 30:09Speaker 2: Rain.
- 30:09Speaker 5: Now some of these, some of these places that were
- 30:11Speaker 5: hard hit. So it's you know, it's all West Virginia.
- 30:14Speaker 1: Man.
- 30:14Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 30:14Speaker 2: We were at the hot dog place in downtown right
- 30:17Speaker 2: across from the Senior Center and it's called the Original.
- 30:20Speaker 2: We went in there and it just so happens to
- 30:22Speaker 2: her husband and wife who owned it. Her birthday was
- 30:25Speaker 2: the flooding wo one week ago. Today was her birthday.
- 30:29Speaker 2: And her father who started the business forty years ago.
- 30:33Speaker 2: I mean they'd expanded it. It started forty years ago.
- 30:36Speaker 2: He died back in March, and he'd talk about the
- 30:38Speaker 2: breakdown moment before her and her husband because they also
- 30:42Speaker 2: had their house flooded out, so they lost the entire
- 30:44Speaker 2: business completely, I mean gut it all the way up
- 30:47Speaker 2: to the ceiling. Wow, it's crazy.
- 30:49Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 30:50Speaker 5: If you still want to help out again, you can
- 30:51Speaker 5: go to w Metronews dot com or go to any
- 30:54Speaker 5: of our station's websites here in the building. We've got
- 30:56Speaker 5: a link on every one of them that you can donate.
- 30:58Speaker 5: As I said, the folks and our Clarksburg cluster, Jack
- 31:01Speaker 5: Murphy and the boys and the folks are out there
- 31:04Speaker 5: today at our stations there and we'll check in with
- 31:07Speaker 5: Jack during the two o'clock hour.
- 31:08Speaker 7: I Metro New's midday today.
- 31:09Speaker 5: You see how it's going there going ten to four today,
- 31:11Speaker 5: So you can drop off items there, is there anything?
- 31:14Speaker 5: I mean, we've been telling the folks about the things
- 31:16Speaker 5: that we need to drop off these collections. Of course,
- 31:19Speaker 5: cash is always still the best cash or however internet
- 31:22Speaker 5: based you want to talk about it.
- 31:24Speaker 7: What did you see up.
- 31:25Speaker 5: There yesterday, Brian that you thought as you were driving
- 31:28Speaker 5: around to the station vehicle and you thought, Okay, this
- 31:31Speaker 5: area really needs this right now.
- 31:33Speaker 2: It needs food trucks, food trucks that go in and
- 31:37Speaker 2: help take care of them because they have the Operation Barbecue, which,
- 31:41Speaker 2: by the way, that started in Joplin, the Joplin Tornado.
- 31:44Speaker 2: They went up there, they thought they'd served probably about
- 31:46Speaker 2: probably about four or five thousand meals. They served eleven
- 31:50Speaker 2: thousand and then sin since twenty eleven they've served a
- 31:53Speaker 2: total of thirteen million meals. Wow, and it's just these
- 31:56Speaker 2: barbecue people from the Kansas City Barbecue Association I'm sorry, society, Yeah, KCB.
- 32:03Speaker 2: So So really, if there was a way to get
- 32:06Speaker 2: food trucks in there could be get taken care of,
- 32:08Speaker 2: you know, the bills could be paid. That's what they need.
- 32:10Speaker 5: Okay, all right, Well, look we got several of them
- 32:13Speaker 5: in the Kanaal Valley.
- 32:14Speaker 7: Right, I mean I got a lot of them. We
- 32:16Speaker 7: got a lot of them.
- 32:16Speaker 5: So if you're listening, don't make us call you out
- 32:18Speaker 5: by name, but there are several food trucks for several
- 32:21Speaker 5: people who listen to this program that I know you
- 32:23Speaker 5: have food trucks and if you can get up there,
- 32:25Speaker 5: I know they would appreciate it.
- 32:27Speaker 2: That was the one thing I saw was that there's
- 32:29Speaker 2: just not enough food being prepped because, like I said,
- 32:32Speaker 2: if they're in Wesson, four restaurants are left, and it's
- 32:35Speaker 2: that that's right across from the sheets. So you have
- 32:37Speaker 2: the Sheets technically a restaurant, but you've got the Taco Bell,
- 32:41Speaker 2: the McDonald's and whatever is. I think there's a Starbucks
- 32:43Speaker 2: and I think a KFC in there. Okay, so that's
- 32:46Speaker 2: all they've that's all they've got. They've got to go
- 32:49Speaker 2: up the road chang Lou. They've got to go back
- 32:51Speaker 2: down south, you know, and all that stuff destroy too.
- 32:53Speaker 2: So when we were going up there, we saw tons
- 32:56Speaker 2: of mudslides, tons of on the interstate.
- 32:58Speaker 7: That's what on the inner say on the interstate. Yeah,
- 33:01Speaker 7: that's what happens at this point. All right.
- 33:03Speaker 5: So if that hot dog place that you mentioned, if
- 33:05Speaker 5: they or do you think they'll be able to open
- 33:07Speaker 5: back up again.
- 33:08Speaker 2: Yeah, they're going to totally get the whole place.
- 33:10Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 33:11Speaker 2: And they had one one cooper that was still working.
- 33:14Speaker 2: They don't know how, yeah, but it was working. So
- 33:16Speaker 2: it was kind of keeping things chilled in there.
- 33:18Speaker 5: So when they do reopen and you go back up
- 33:22Speaker 5: there again, are you going to continue your tradition of
- 33:25Speaker 5: ordering mayo on your hot dog?
- 33:26Speaker 2: I absolutely will. But that's the thing. I want a
- 33:32Speaker 2: hot dog from there. I want a hot dog so that,
- 33:34Speaker 2: you know, the same thing when I went to Hurricane Michael,
- 33:36Speaker 2: category five hurricane, I said, I'll be back. I want
- 33:38Speaker 2: to see what it looks like, you know, when it's
- 33:40Speaker 2: put back together.
- 33:41Speaker 7: Yeah, So that's.
- 33:42Speaker 5: All right, give me thirty seconds again on what we
- 33:44Speaker 5: expect for the rest of the day.
- 33:45Speaker 2: We otherwise, rest of the afternoon, we're looking at some
- 33:47Speaker 2: showers in thunder storms bubbling up probably around noonness and
- 33:49Speaker 2: we'll see more than we do. Have some showers that
- 33:51Speaker 2: are out there across parts of Lincoln and Boone Counties
- 33:53Speaker 2: right now. Just a few sprinkles in Kanagh County. Heavy,
- 33:57Speaker 2: So the storms are down in far south of West Virginia.
- 33:59Speaker 2: But we get to noon to three o'clock, that's where
- 34:01Speaker 2: the storms will bubble up again one more time. They'll
- 34:03Speaker 2: slide off to the southeast tomorrow, high and dry all
- 34:05Speaker 2: the way through.
- 34:06Speaker 5: Friday, and we yeah, I guess my great weather after that.
- 34:08Speaker 5: As you mentioned, the final live on the Levee will
- 34:10Speaker 5: be Friday.
- 34:11Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 34:11Speaker 2: I can't wait, all right, because listen, it's the Taylor
- 34:13Speaker 2: Swift stuff.
- 34:14Speaker 7: It's Taylor Swift tribute.
- 34:16Speaker 5: Yeah, all right, Brian Hughes, much of news Metiorologist, appreciate
- 34:19Speaker 5: you being here, man, Thanks a lot. All right, eighteen
- 34:21Speaker 5: minutes away from ten, we will take a break and

- 38:05Speaker 5: I don't know. If they started that there wouldn't be
- 38:08Speaker 5: a GOP after a very long time. Well, they can't
- 38:11Speaker 5: necessarily kick someone out of the party now. If you
- 38:15Speaker 5: were listening to the show yesterday, we had Tony Hodge,
- 38:18Speaker 5: who was pretty high ranking official in the State Republican Party,
- 38:22Speaker 5: and Tony said they have their meeting, the state has
- 38:24Speaker 5: their state party has their meeting this Saturday in Charleston,
- 38:27Speaker 5: and that he got enough signatures to basically disavow delegate
- 38:33Speaker 5: for now former Delegate Elliott Pritt. So technically they really
- 38:38Speaker 5: you can't kick someone out of a party, but they
- 38:41Speaker 5: can basically say we don't recognize you. And that's that's
- 38:44Speaker 5: what's going to happen at the meeting this week. Coming

- 45:53Speaker 5: manslaughter leaving the scene of an ambulance causing death and
- 45:56Speaker 5: aggravated vehica her homicide. Of course, John Lucas died in
- 45:59Speaker 5: that incident. Now the lawyers for list of Middleton have
- 46:02Speaker 5: asked for a change of venue. Quote Now, given the
- 46:05Speaker 5: widespread hostility towards the accused end quote, the attorney feels
- 46:12Speaker 5: a fair and impartial jury could not be assembled in
- 46:16Speaker 5: Kanawk County. Now, let me read from the actual court
- 46:21Speaker 5: filing here.
- 46:22Speaker 7: If there was that.
- 46:23Speaker 5: This is from the actual brief filed with the attorney.
- 46:26Speaker 5: If there was ever a criminal trial in the history
- 46:30Speaker 5: of Kanawk County that necessitated a change of venue. This
- 46:36Speaker 5: is it end quote. And actually in the motion WHS
- 46:41Speaker 5: Television no relation is mentioned by name. Because of their
- 46:46Speaker 5: live stream that practically had everyone in Kanawh County watching it. Now,
- 46:50Speaker 5: I'm my faulting them, Don't get me wrong. I'm just
- 46:52Speaker 5: saying that's you know, they did the live streaming today.
- 46:55Speaker 5: Of course the heavy media coverage is part of it.
- 46:58Speaker 5: But the order also so mentions again quoting the community's
- 47:03Speaker 5: strong demand for accountability in quote as a reason to
- 47:08Speaker 5: move the case out of Kanak County. Of course, both
- 47:12Speaker 5: Middleton and the other girl were fired from the ambulance service.
- 47:15Speaker 5: The other girl wasn't charged. There are attorneys also asking
- 47:19Speaker 5: for a delay in the trial, which is supposed to
- 47:23Speaker 5: start on August seventeenth. Now it's going to be decided
- 47:26Speaker 5: what's going to happen next in front of Judge Dave
- 47:28Speaker 5: Hardy this morning at ten am. We are in the
- 47:30Speaker 5: courtroom and have more on Aaron online later. And look,
- 47:37Speaker 5: I get what the attorneys are trying to do here,
- 47:42Speaker 5: and if I were an attorney in this case, I
- 47:44Speaker 5: probably would do the same thing. I am not sure
- 47:49Speaker 5: that a fair trial can be held in Kanak County
- 47:54Speaker 5: and I know how the majority of people feel in
- 47:59Speaker 5: this case. I do, but like it or not, people
- 48:04Speaker 5: in America are entitled to a fair trial. And the
- 48:09Speaker 5: online stuff got so bad that the actual family of
- 48:16Speaker 5: John Lucas and their attorneys came on the air with
- 48:19Speaker 5: us on Metro News Midday and pretty much begged people
- 48:24Speaker 5: to stop with all the stuff on Facebook, saying, you
- 48:27Speaker 5: are in fact hurting the case. So if this if
- 48:33Speaker 5: this case has moved out of Kanawha County, and I'm
- 48:36Speaker 5: not a legal scholar, I'm not going to predict whether
- 48:38Speaker 5: it's going to be moved down to the county or not.
- 48:39Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 48:42Speaker 5: A lot of that is going to be I would
- 48:45Speaker 5: think very smart, but I would I would think a
- 48:48Speaker 5: lot of that is going to be because of a
- 48:50Speaker 5: lot of the online stuff. And again, a couple of
- 48:56Speaker 5: weeks after this, we had the attorney in the case
- 49:00Speaker 5: on the show on Metro News Midday basically come forward
- 49:03Speaker 5: and said, look, I know what everybody, it's all coming
- 49:07Speaker 5: from a good place, we get it, but please stop
- 49:11Speaker 5: because you're hurting the case. And I think there is
- 49:14Speaker 5: a real possibility that this case will not be hurt
- 49:16Speaker 5: in Kanaan County that it will go somewhere else because
- 49:20Speaker 5: of the you know, the intense coverage, and look, it's
- 49:23Speaker 5: not just the online stuff, it's the media coverage and
- 49:25Speaker 5: so on and so forth.
- 49:26Speaker 7: But it's media.
- 49:27Speaker 5: We have to cover it. We can't not cover it.
- 49:30Speaker 5: So we'll see what happens. He goes before Judge Hardy Attenney,
- 49:33Speaker 5: and this morning Daniel Woods is in the courtroom and
- 49:36Speaker 5: he'll have a story online wv Metronews dot com and
- 49:40Speaker 5: on air as well. So anyway, we will just have
- 49:42Speaker 5: to kind of wait and see what happens. Invict you

- 50:06Speaker 5: Elliot Print Jack Carlson lead story this morning WV metro
- 50:09Speaker 5: News dot Com. Delegate Print has resigned one sentenced letter
- 50:13Speaker 5: to House Speaker Roger Hanshaw yesterday. Print was in Federal
- 50:18Speaker 5: Court in Charleston yesterday afternoon and after being charged last
- 50:22Speaker 5: week with seducing this fifteen year old who was a
- 50:26Speaker 5: student one of his students. Print was in front of
- 50:28Speaker 5: the US Magistrate Judge Dwayne Tensley, wearing the orange jumpsuit.
- 50:33Speaker 5: His hands and feet were cuffed and Jack said that
- 50:36Speaker 5: Print waived his detention hearing and a preliminary hearing, so
- 50:40Speaker 5: that basically means Print will remain in custody as the
- 50:45Speaker 5: case continues. And that statement from US Attorney for the
- 50:50Speaker 5: Southern District more Capito, who did a press event after
- 50:52Speaker 5: the hearing. He made a statement afterwards, programming note more
- 50:56Speaker 5: Capital will be on talk line with Wilson Meadows today.
- 51:00Speaker 5: Everybody's releasing statements about the Print case, including the governor.
- 51:04Speaker 5: If you haven't heard this one yet, you better sat down.
- 51:08Speaker 5: Governor Morrison ONEX said, quote, good riddance to the terrible
- 51:14Speaker 5: former West Virginia Delegate Elliot Print. He just resigned. Print
- 51:18Speaker 5: was not only accused of terrible grimes against a child,
- 51:20Speaker 5: but he was a former socialist who was making his
- 51:24Speaker 5: way up the GOP leadership pathway. The GOP must always
- 51:29Speaker 5: stand for integrity, protecting our kids, and maintaining our principles.
- 51:33Speaker 5: Happy for this result in quote, I mean, I think
- 51:40Speaker 5: we can all agree on the basic premise from the
- 51:43Speaker 5: governor here. But did the governor really think that Print
- 51:47Speaker 5: was a former socialist? Did he think that this time
- 51:49Speaker 5: last month? Maybe he did, I don't know. He seems
- 51:53Speaker 5: like strong wording, very very trump white new slash Democrats.
- 52:00Speaker 5: You do not have the moral high ground when it
- 52:01Speaker 5: comes to pedophili and sex predators. You are all the
